#hazbin hotel critisism

Heavy trigger warnings for sa, victim blaming, and gambling addiction.
This is very early on to make a critical meta of Hazbin Hotel, so consider this a contained critique of ep4 alone. And if the show goes in a whole different direction, I'll gladly eat my word.
Angel Dust is Victim Blamed in Ep4
Tumblr media
A character doesn't speak for its show, but it seems like they were playing it straight. And they took it too far. Their situations have simularities, but cannot go beyond a small parallel.
Husk had power and but lost it because of his addiction. Now he's stuck serving an overlord. Angel had no power and made one mistake. Now he's getting r*ped and abused. These situations are not the same. Which makes the next bit very distasteful:
Tumblr media
No he isn't. He's a sa survivor. That is victim blaming. Making an endearing song about how they're similar where Husk is calling Angel a loser, is straight up victim blaming. What makes this even worse is that Angel is now convinced that he's a loser.
Tumblr media
There's another massive issue with framing Angel Dust and Husk as similar, one that I've spotted in Poison as well. I think it's perfectly illustrated here:
Tumblr media
But we weren't talking about Angel Dust supposedly having a sex addiction. We were talking about him getting r*ped because of a contract. The show is painting a picture of Angel being drawn to sex work and being a loser for it. Angel Dust's "appletite" is not the issue. He is not the issue.
But looking back at Poison, I don't think this issue stems from comparing Angel to Husk. Because in his own song, he says this:
Tumblr media
"Addicted"? What does he mean by that? The feelin' of... getting r*ped?
The show is mixing up a sex addiction with sexual abuse and the implications couldn't be worse. They're making it seem like Angel Dust caused his sexual abuse because he was an addict. Like it's his fault for being "drawn" and I don't know what the intent was, but someone fucked up.
I came into this episode hearing it was insensitive, but coming in with an open mind. I honestly didn't expect victim blaming. I didn't expect sexual abuse to be compared to following orders. I didn't expect a sa survivor getting called a loser. And I didn't expect lines like "I can't help but swallow". Again, if they subvert this, great! I'll be happy. But for now: He didn't cause any of this. He's not a loser.

I don't know who she is but I just got recommended her critique of Hazbin Hotel. She is using only the intro of Episode 1 to dissect the show's heavy flaws and beings up many points that I think all us critics can agree on.
Something she pointed out that I didn't even think about is how when "Evil took it's roots" as Eve took the apple but it didn't start when Adam wanted to control Lilith, which makes a lot of sense.

If you say a healthy relationship where the characters respect each other and are an equal level is "boring" you are an instant red flag to me, because every person who says this turns out to be a piece of shit that glorifies abuse and, if they are a creator, generally suck at storytelling as well
EDIT: Just to clarify I don't mean you can't enjoy toxic ships. I didn't get it across well, but what I'm talking about is fans who ignore blatant abuse and try paint it as a "spicy romance" and dismissing healthier ships/couples as "boring and vanilla". If you refuse to acknowledge a relationship is toxic and instead glorify/romanticise it while saying actually healthy ships are too boring then you are in fact a red flag

Y'know, even at this point, I still don't see how these two would even be friends.
I mean yeah, maybe they can get along and relate a little bit to one another. Maybe they can care a little bit about each other behind closed doors. But anything along the lines of being attached, best friends, platonic friends, boyfriends (hopefully not)? I just don't see it. I wouldn't recommend it. Even during this entire bullshit musical number, I still don't sense any chemistry. And it's not just because of the song or what the point of it all was.
The dynamic between these two is thought out so poorly and Viv is only forcing it at this point. She might as well only be pushing this ship because her fans want it to happen.
Cuz there is no taking away the fact that Angel is a constant uncomfortable flirt with Husk. Pushing his boundaries, touching him, and talking dirty. Obviously, Husk is rightfully annoyed by it and has all the reason in the world to not like Angel, no matter what trauma he goes through. Not to mention he was talking a lot of mess to Angel this episode, and it really upset him. And now that they had a heart-to-heart talk (which I don't see how that had any impact on their dynamic cuz there's hardly anything similar between them) it's all water under the bridge?? I never even heard Angel apologize for how he behaved around Husk. Like what- just cuz that's the kind of person he is and it's a trauma response, that means it's okay and he shouldn't feel sorry??? I get so sick and tired of that crappy excuse!!
What is it with Viv and shipping her characters with harassers???
The arguments that they have feel so sudden and forced anyway. I feel like the only reason why it happened was so that their relationship could feel earned later, but it just doesn't work.
As a matter of fact, Husk shouldn't even have been the one to chase after Angel. If anything, I think CHARLIE should've gone after Angel and had a talk with him! Cuz not only would it have been a chance for this episode to be focused on her (THE MAIN CHARACTER IN VIV's FEMALE-CENTERED SHOW) This could've been a chance for Angel to probably have more trust and care for Charlie which he never had in the first place. Especially when Charlie sort of got him in trouble with Valentino. She wanted to apologize to Angel so badly? Freakin go after him and say ur sorry! Why are you wasting your time on these silly ass notes!! Maybe this could've been a chance for Charlie to learn how bad Angel has it and that not every sinner who's as troubled as him could easily make a change for the better. And if Husk absolutely has to be centered as well, have him be shown enough times as Charlie was.
This show could've had a chance to be female-focused as Viv said it would be, but she and Adam blew it by the time episode 2 was uploaded cuz she favors all her male characters and ships much more than the opposite sex.

The hazbin hatedom is getting out of hand for me it's really cringe. Your thoughts
I have mixed opinions on this. So beforehand, I am going to say that this is a longer post from me, and I appreciate the anonymous message! <3 I will be talking about this specific question, as well as my interpretation, thoughts, and overall feelings on this matter. Please feel free to reblog, like, and comment your opinions and keep it civil. I want to have a friendly discussion, no matter how brash I seem: this is brutal honesty coming from my heart.
For those who have ZERO clue: Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are dark "comedy" shows for an adult audience, created by Vivienne "Vivziepop" Medrano, originally airing on YouTube. Helluva Boss is currently in its second season, while we have yet to find out anything else on Hazbin Hotel, as it is now a part of A24 and BentoBox. They center on the same setting, Hell, but have two different plot lines.
Hazbin Hotel is redemption focused, led by Princess Charlie Morningstar, the daughter of Lucifer. She wants to help the sinners in Hell become good and go up to heaven to avoid the yearly Exterminartion, aka a Purge. Helluva Boss, however, is about a murdering business called I.M.P., with Blitz, Millie, Moxxie, and Loona, going up to Earth with a grimoire that is provided by Stolas of the Ars Goetia, a prince. So here we go, into the Depths and reasoning of this post: the Hatedom. So lo and behold, my answer below.
On one hand, yes. The Hazbin Hatedom is a bit over the top. Yes, people are assholes. However, the Vivziepop stans who don't want to admit their precious senpai Vivziepop has done some pretty fucked up shit in the past. The hate can be unnecessary, but you know what else can be unnecessary? The toxic stans. I follow #vivziepop for certain analysis portrayals and criticism, or just general news. Sometimes people are tiresome. This is no exception.
I am falling out of the fandom because it can be toxic. I enjoy most of the characters, but other than that? Helluva Boss's current writing is NOT good. At all. The latest episode irked me to no end. I'm unimpressed with Seeing Stars. I am not very happy that they are forcing Stolitz down our throats as an "uwu pwease wove us" type of bullshit ship. I would much rather prefer Blitz and Stolas to be friends. I wished Stolas had his pilot personality and not the "uwu im a gay, tragic prince with a shitty wife, feel bad for me" bird we know in the series.
Moxxie in the latest episode is bitchy. He got on my nerves and was pissed at Millie being happy. This girl deserves more screentime (and I'm glad she got some of it) but seriously...Millie is always there for Moxxie, and Moxxie needs to reciprocate.
They made Stella seem stupid, when in reality, and if written properly, she can be a cunning and calculating villain with her brother. We've yet to see how Octavia and Stella interact, but I'm unsure.
I have definitely tried to keep my mouth shut as much as I could on this matter, because when I finally openly admit how I feel, it's not a pretty thing, especially with something that I'm so passionate about. Animation takes time, writing takes time, scripting, acting, everything takes so much time, and this is wasted potential. We can have so much better than just a fan-ficcy type rom-com, dark humor, sexual humor schtick. It's getting annoying, and I fear the worst when it comes to Hazbin Hotel.
Criticism is welcome here! Let me know what I left out. I'm willing to hear other opinions, so long as they're nice. If anons start flooding my inbox and getting mad, anons are off. Anon is a privilege, not a right.

I feel like there’s plenty of valid criticisms of Hazbin Hotel. Like personally I think there are a lot of issues regarding pacing and character design, the way the show handles sexual assault is bad and sometimes the writing comes across as ‘edgy’. But generally almost all the criticism I see against the show on Twitter comes across as the most stupid shit ever.

Here is a supposed audition sheet from a set which has made the rounds for a while. Because of my unrelenting bias, it's the one for a certain television headed overlord. Let's have a look-see, shall we?
Right away with option 1 we see a red flag: the extended "bye". Vox canonically was in his fifties at the time of his death in the 1950s. The vernacular of twenty-year-old social media influencers coming out of a man of that age, from that time period, supposedly with a high level of respect, in an implied professional setting is strange.
Another issue is the clunkiness of the dialogue. There's no flow to it, and reading it aloud elicits the atmosphere of a middle schooler's half finished adventure story. Lines feel hollow, and seem to only exist to move the story along. This isn't just present in the first option, it's an issue with all of them. Fun.
Option 2 is just grim. Not only is the apprehension to change nonsensical for Vox, whose whole character is based around technological progress, contributing to his foil to Alastor's traditionalism, but the line's whole existence is centered around a dreaded cock joke.
While the basic idea of a gag about producing a beyond awful show for eight seasons is fitting and humorous [anyone who has heard of MTV's "Ridiculousness" knows about the realisim of this all too well], it falls dead in the water. Perhaps the idea of there being a genuine market for a show with a name of that caliber would be funnier, and it could be a semivisual gag with Vox enthusiastically accepting the show onto his network as the atrocious title looms in the background.
Option 3 is, once again, clunky, with the ending bit of dialogue not connecting very well with the first and the whole bit feeling overall pointless. But main issue here is the suggestion that Velvette works for/under Vox despite canonically being her own overlord. Not only is it weird, it's demeaning to her character and has some... concerning undertones.
Option 4 has a very similar problem to option 1, which is the unnatural language, as well as an overuse of vulgarity. Vox saying "bitches" is humorously bad. If the writers wanted to demonstrate a crude streak through derogatory vocabulary, they could have used "wenches" or "harlots", something equally vulgar but more fitting to his character. But no, modern slang is the writers' crutch. In a similar vein, all the professions listed are maybe a little too specific to modern day. You could go a bit broader and list off jobs such as actors, directors, models, etc cetera. It would age much better.
And once again, Velvette is implied to work for Vox despite us having been told that she is also an overlord and in possession of enough power that she is a part of the triple alliance. Sigh.
Also, the whole plot presented by this line is stupid. If your sworn enemy is working for a certain establishment, wouldn't you be better off spying on them to see what they're doing there? And wouldn't it be easier and more interesting to try and sabotage the establishment instead of wasting who knows how much money building a whole rival company from scratch? It's simply illogical.
This one also has a significant grammatical error: there should be punctuation of some kind between "we'll make our own hotel" and "we'll fill it with...", implying a lack of proofreading, which is a massive red flag.
In conclusion, I sincerely hope that this is either fake or a very, very early draft that they decided to use as audition sheets due to some sort of legal issue with the actual final script. I don't think I could stomach a whole show with dialogue like this.

This might just be me, but I am starting to notice a serious trend of independent animation being critisized simply for being self indulgent.
It happened with Hazbin Hotel in 2019 and it's currently happening to The Amazing Digital Circus now, which is which very sad to see. It's not enough to be pattern but it's definetly enough to be noticeable.
A lot of people who don't delve to much into creative mediums seem to forget that art: ALL ART, is a self indulgent medium. The target audience, when creating a project, is yourself. If other people like it and want to see more, than cool. But at the end of the day, you (or in this case, Gooseworx and Vivziepop) are the target auidence for their/your projects.
"All the characters in Hazbin Hotel reek of Tumblr and teenage edge" Vivzie designed all the characters when she was in Highschool and wanted to reuse them for her series. Of course they have 2010s Deviantart vibes, she grew up a 2010s deviantart kid and wanted to keep that vibe.
"Jax is total Tumblr Sexyman Bait and everything is too colorful and bouncy and annoying!" Gooseworx said themself that they like Jax's character archetype which is why they wanted to include him. Also have you SEEN Goose's other work? Bouncy and colorful are their thing.
There are plenty of things to critisize about HH (And it's spinoff HB) and TADC. Even as a fan of these works, I have my issues with them, some even as a result of this self indulgence, but disliking them so vehemently simply BECAUSE they are self indulgent really discourages people from making art, especially in fields such as animation.
TLDR: If you want to see more independent animation and art being made, you have to let people get a little self indulgent. You might not like it, but at the end of the day, it isn't made for you. And that's ok.

Have you seen the Hazbin Hotel's leaks? At this point I believe it's a worker doing it out of spite (I personally believe in the allegations of Spindlehorse being a toxic work environment)
Now I have, thanks.
Oh my god. Alastor's voice is not bad, but I feel kinda biased right now. I need to get used to it. Lucifer on the other hand...
Tumblr media
No hate to the actor, but he sounds like some random guy in his 20s. It could have been taken straight from Highschool Musical. Lucifer is an immortal angel who rebelled in heaven and got sentenced to ruling hell. This is... not what I imagened 💀
I also believe the allegations, it does sound possible that someone/some people got fed up. Ultimately we can't know, but man, it's really weird how so much is getting leaked.

Been watching episode 1 and 2 of Hazbin Hotel, and if you've seen my earlier critique posts about Hazbin and Helluva you'll see that I often point out flaws that most critics of this community share the same sentiment with, but honestly, I need to say this:
-I love all the character designs, even Adam is pretty okay
-I love their voices, especially in episode 2
-I love their songs, especially the Stay Gone and It Starts With Sorry songs
-There is a LOT less swearing than I expected and the ones I expect to curse a lot curse the most
And these are all things I complained about in the past and I was scared that even early on I wouldn't be able to enjoy it, but now to me it's better than I expected and are something I could rewatch multiple times.
I got to tell you guys this, we shouldn't be so complaining about how the show isn't taking the directions we want it to take, maybe we should stop having all these expectations and see if what we get is enjoyable, otherwise I fear we'll be stuck in this public opinion mindset where if we point out every detail as a flaw we'd just convince ourselves to stay angry.
We should still criticise Viv for what she does in the business and on socials, absolutely, and likely the SA writing too, 100%. But let's try to enjoy the show as a show.

At All Costs - Collaboration, Part One
Tumblr media
While I'm waiting my two friends to finish their homework for my 'At All Costs' Collaboration Challenge in Instagram, I'm just gonna post one of my friends' breathtaking artwork which I couldn't believe this would be the best one so far for both Disney and Dreamworks
(I got the inspiration after realizing your challenge comes to an end. I also watched some videos how some movies like Wish, Kung Fu Panda 4 and etc. could be better and are not worth and how animated studios are only for money now. Which honestly made me disheartened. It's true that those movie are not masterpieces and I agree with critisism of missed opportunities, but now these later days feels like venting out frustration. And it makes a little sad as despite their mediocrity I find them enjoyable (there is always something to enjoy) and I do like characters. Also same for Mickey who is now in free domain. And the song fits perfectly as I want them to protect and show my love. I do believe these movies are just pilots that needs to explore, with time and right ideas for storytelling. Puss in Boots, ROTTMNT, Elemental, even Disney Pinnochio went through something similiar and now there are very loved and accepted. Only thing I want is give these movies and characters a chance to grow and explore as well.
I draw this because I love these characters and I wanted to show my love and protection. Those movies might not be masterpieces, but I still find them enjoyable and I love these characters.
There is also cameo of Jiminy Cricket, Tinker Bell,Poppy and Branch, Oswald, Mickey and of course Nick and Judy(upcoming sequel), plus Rapunzel and Mirabel as allies (blame Hazbin Hotel on that one as Charlie reminds me of Raps and Vaggie is voiced by Mirabel's voice actress
- Disneyfriend)

"It's just a cartoon/movie/whatever" shouldn't apply to critcism it should apply to the batshit insane fans sending death threats over critcism of joke videos
Like that once bitch on Twitter sending the creator of that short TADC vid creator a death theat and then turning around to going "Oh I'm sorry I was just angry I didn't mean it ☹"
If you send death threats to people when you're angry you should get off the x app and see a damn psychiatrist

So I saw some more fan art of something like this and people are still hating it, calling this person homophobic for erasing Vaggie's sexuality and shipping her with a boy version of Charlie. Alright look- I can understand why they wouldn't like it, there's nothing wrong with not liking it, but it's absolutely crazy to me when they call someone homophobic especially when they said they loved Chaggie despite their sexuality and gender. Like-- this is literally just a thought that they had and they wanted to draw it. That's all that is. They don't dislike Vaggie being a lesbian, they don't hate that she and Charlie are girls and together. This was just a "what-if" drawing. It doesn't hurt the canon whatsoever. Y'all are being overly dramatic about this honestly.
And it totally confuses me cuz . . . Y'all will ship a straight character with their same gender and NOBODY will bat an eye at that. Nobody will judge you for it. If anything, they'll agree. Like, say someone shipped Naruto and Sasuke (and a lot of people do) and drew romantic art of them. You don't see us going, "Umm Naruto and Sasuke are straight and they're boys. You can't draw them together. That's weird."
We definitely can't say things like that, cuz it'll come off as homophobic, wouldn't it?? Or if people draw something like this--
Tumblr media
Changing Naruto's gender and making fanart of him and Sasuke together. Making fanfictions of a girl Naruto and shipping him with Sasuke. They ship these two boys (who aren't even a couple) but would prefer if one of the genders were switched. Didn't nobody make a big deal over this (as far as I know anyway) no matter if they were a part of the lgbt community or not. Nobody cares if they're straight, what gender they are, or if they were a couple or not. All they know is that they like the thought of them being a couple.
So why is it when someone switches up a queer character's gender and sexuality to heterosexual, it's suddenly criminal???
Here's another example--
Tumblr media
(Sorry to whoever drew this. I don't mean to repost your art. I just found it off google.)
Angel Dust is gay and Vaggie is a lesbian; PEOPLE SHIP THEM!!! There are a lot of fans who draw these two together despite their sexuality. You don't see nobody going, "Uhh Angel Dust is gay. He can't like Vaggie and Vaggie can't like him."
So shipping a gay character with a lesbian character is fine and shipping straight characters with the same gender is okay. So why is it wrong for the op to make fanart of something like that??

I think it's just stupid to demand from people to stop criticizing something. If it bothers them that much the best thing they can do is try to avoid it. Dedicating a whole account to hating on one person that does something that bothers you so much your mental health is declining is no way healthy. It's the internet, everyone has the right to speak their minds. And even before the internet people found ways to do it, magazines, newspapers etc.
When I was younger I was really into mha/bnha. But online spaces, especially people outside of the fandom made me feel bad (no mental breakdowns thankfully). You know what I did? I stopped being in the fandom and by extension the franchise. It hurt me yeah but people saying how awful the fans are was way worse. After spending time away from it I can see where some of their critisisms came from but also I can enjoy reading the manga. I grew up (mentally).
My experience might not be the best course of action for everyone but it worked for me.
If people being critical about hazbin hotel, helluva boss and/or vivziepop is that bad for them and whatever problems they have, I suggest they take some time off of the franchise and fandom.
Yeah, in all seriousness, people talking about how much they hate Viv and her shows isn't something that's just going to stop. Love or hate Viv, if it's diminishing your quality of life, step away from it. It's not worth being miserable over.

Hazbin Hotel: Trace the primal light
This will be part 1/3 Of my hazbin hotel rewrite
Link to part 2: xxx
Edit: this is a safe measure to vivziepop's stans that happen to come across my silly post
I just did a rewrite of a show i thought have so much potential, viv's ideas is good, great even and i respect her (though not support her) because of how far she has come. Shes a great animator and artist, i just wanted to expand her idea in another way unlike her way, its just a silly little rewrite you don't have to take it seriously.
Tldr: I am a bored teen who see the potential and decided to expand on it im not attacking Viv im just critisizing her work, all writers, artist, creator go through that (even me) its just a part of making creating for other people to enjoy. So lets be respectful.
Lets start of with the big fish, the tonal problem of Hazbin Hotel.
I feel like Viv can't decide whether its a serious story or a comedic story, everything feels so unbalanced, one thing the viewer is supposed to make fun of a character the next you need to sympathies with them in one scene to another.
Im not saying comedic shows cannot have a serious setting once in a while, see for example: the amazing world of gumball or heck even my little pony A SHOW MADE FOR KIDS THAT MEANT TO BE LIGHTHEARTED
But ofcourse, Hazbin Hotel have this problem, so lets change it shall we?
In my rewrite HH is in its core a semi-serious show, it has mature theme that is handled seriously and it doesn't make fun of a character in their more character driven moment
Ofcourse, HH still has their humor and allat, it just doesn't interfere with the over all tone of the show
now we move on to season 1 (-ep 9)
In the original series, hazbin hotel has 8 episodes, i wouldn't blame them because their an indie production but i think it should be extended to 9 for good measure
Ep 1 focuses on the setting, tone and introduction
Ep 9 will lay out the stary of the conflict in season 2
And lets just say, the Pilot of HH did a pretty good job of standing in for Ep 1, it has the setting, the characters and how they interact. I particularly liked the introduction to charlie at the start of the pilot, when its the end of the recent extermination and she's essentially "waking up" the rest of hell.
It captured Charlie's motivation and role so perfectly and nicely, it shows her status as princess, and her motivation to end the extermination for her people. All without a single dialog only her song.
Season 1 of my HH rewrite will lean onto more episodic elements, each episode after ep 1 will introduced a new character that come to the hotel and want to be redeemed.this will be the perfect chance for viv to showcase her designs and push the premise forward.
What about sir pentious? Hes a guest yes, he's a guest in ep 1 and will be more of like the core cast along season 1
My rewrite will probably look like this:
Ep 01: Prolog
Ep 02: a guest related to greed
Ep 03: a guest related to gluttony
Ep 04: a guest related to wrath
Ep 05: a guest related to sloth
Ep 06: a Guest related to lust
Ep 07: a guest related to pride
Ep 08: cast centric episode (maybe angel dust)
Ep 09: epilog that will lay out future season
I will talk about ep 9 later after i talk about the villains in part 2
But kira how about the main cast? How about their development?
Good question and i have an answer to you
Each cast or more will handle the said guest in every episode, for example Charlie will try to calm down a rouge wrath guest or Husk will try to help slmeone with the gluttony problem and so on and so forth.
The guest will contrast the cast very much, and this will give you how they interact with someone outside the main cast
Now how about the main cast itself? How do they interact with each other? Through the episodes ofcourse, found family dynamic that build up slowly but surely. Like angel, who don't care about the hotel at the start but slowly warming up to the others
But how about their personal development or trauma? Yes, beacuse season 1 focuses alot more on episodic, developing a character through episode is hard but plausible, so i guess in season 1 we will get a little development in the show don't tell format while in season 2 we will push to more character driven story and story driven story episodes.
how about the main characters?
Ofcourse we gotta start with the main cast
Charlie morningstar
Charlie in my rewrite is nice, sweet and often times pushing herself too much, she has her pride and will do anything to protect it, even if it harm herself. Shes down to earth and thats why she gets brushed off so much by her people because she doesn't earn their respect yet
Her development in season 1 is all about her trying to gain respect and all the while pushing the inner conflict of herself for working herself too much.
And her flaw is shown in one of the scene where she lashed out to her fellow main cast beacuse of her pride as in only her method is the right one. But through out the said episode she will try to fix that part of her in the guidance of her friends.
Likable component
- friendly
- nice
- confident
- leader type
- down to earth
- caring
Unlikable component
- prideful
- Headstrong
- pushing herself too much in the cost of her own self or even her friends
- gullible
- get jealous fairly easily ( not in like a posessive way but in like of how dare you're better than me way)
Vaggie | Vagatha | Valitas (angel name)
Yes i did rewrote her name too because what the fuck is Vagina.
Anyway-
The problem i had with her is the fact she doesn't have any and i mean Any character outside of her being "Charlie's girlfriend who is an angry latina stereotype" so we gotta fix this
In my rewrite, shes a pretty serious and headstrong woman, often being the "straight man" inside the chaos of Hazbin Hotel. While she look like she's made from stone, she actually has a pretty soft side more to her friends.
She's only acted aggressively where she deemed the situation is calling for it or she sense danger arising.
Shes a very good fighter and has been with Charlie for a long Time, though they never outright have a relationship. Their romance is a slow burn one, scenes here and there like lasting glances or playful flirting throughout season 1 that build up to season 2.
She has a pretty good, enemies to friends dynamic with angel dust, and out of all the main cast she's the closest to him by far (platonic!!)
We can easily showcase her character in a show don't tell format like simple gestures like putting a hand in front of charlie when she danger is coming or reassuring the other main cast calmly while holding their hand if need be
Likable components
- attentive
- logical
- serious
- street smart
- wise
- gentle
Unlikable components
- headstrong
- violent (if the situation calls for it)
- self loathing
- overbearing
Angel dust
Angel dust oh yeah we gotta talk about him
*sigh where do i start
I am not going to show his SA scene
Thats it, thats the rewrite
JUST KIDDING
But still no SA scene bcs wtf is that
Angel dust in my hazbin hotel rewrite is a confident and flirty man, he's confident, charming and sexually active man though he does fake his emotions a whole lot.
He stand in the middle of a string between overconfidence and self loathing at the same time, even if he's tired he'll often push all of his real emotions inside and stand proud in his drag queen persona.
He is an actor after all.
He has a very heavy trauma history with Valentino, and beacuse of valentino he develop his eating disorder and self loathing tendencies.
His interaction with main cast starts from him using them as means to escape valentino to him genuinely caring about them
Hes a very complex character over all
Likable components
- confident
- charming
- caring (he doesn't want to admit it)
- attentive
- soft spot
-attractive
Unlikable components

Angel ae urip iki
Husk
Husky dusty my lil meow meow (hes a grown man) Just kidding!!
Husk in my rewrite is often times dismissive, petty, and overall a not fun person beacuse of his " i don't care" attitude but surprisingly hes a pretty good listener and a very detailed observer, he has street smarts and will sometime spit out uncharacteristically good advice.
His relationship with alastor will be dived in more deeper in season 2
Over all he will be that one idgaf bartender that has surprisingly good advice

Nifty
Ah yes, the hyperactive skrunkle
she's honestly...a very interesting can of worms, she acted like a child but in that one episode she displayed in this sexual setting that made me ick for a little bit
Her character is basically nothing outside of the sociopathic, hyperactive silly goober
In my rewrite she's more reserved while still holding on to that hyperactiveness of her, shes a clean freak and kinda a sociapath often times.
While she hold on to that shes a rather friendly and approachable character, shes like that one friend you would talk your problems with all the while she offered to get rid of the problem (in more ways than one). While she has her flaws with her, it wss established that she was not aware that what her doing is wrong, because in her human life she never thought about right or wrong
And yes in my rewrite shes a rather young gal (maybe high school age?), how did she met alastor? No one knows
And she's ace btw, it just doesn't accured to me she will be the type to think about romance, let alone sex.
Likeable components :

- easily approachable
- positive
- clean
Unlikable components
- cant distinct between right or wrong
- gullible
- violent
- overbearing
Alastor
Alastor alastor alastor, what should i do with you?
In my rewrite he is an polite and old timey man, he is a gentleman and quite a charmer. Hes smart, observant and confident.
He'll probably will be the only character in my rewrite to not swear once, instead he will passive aggressively critisize someone with his signature gentleman words for example:
"Your highness perhaps with that silly little head of yours you cannot comprehend this level complexity do you?"
but ofcourse he wasn't a tumblr sexyman for nothing Ain't he?
he's manipulative while simultaneously approachable, making him more dangerous, he is sadistic and psycothic all of his move and act is for himself and only himself
It wasn't clear of wether or not he started to care for the other main cast or not but one thing is for certain that he is a force to behold.
And hes one of the girls
Also, no voodoo thingy
