whether william descended into grief-induced madness and obsession, or was just always some kind of freak, or both, i don't think he saw his own family as disposable. even if he didn't truly love them, he at least needed to keep up his own facade as a friendly family man. personally i like to see him as someone who was a shitty father but still loved his kids, because people like that exist, and it makes him a much more interesting, realistic, and nuanced character than if he just didn't care about them At All.

Well, my favorite characters are the purple guy, and since almost nothing is known about him, I would not say that what I came up with for him would be headcanon. I mean, that notion is very much distorted now. Headcanon is something that can be inherent in a character based on the information that is available about him but which was not directly said. And I'll say right away that the fnaf books are shit and I don't like William from there. so. thought about a sort of killer swap au in the Rewrite.

so...have some vague thoughts about it:

i feel like the things that would make Henry snap would be rather different than William. William was already practically one horrible circumstance away from Committing A Crime (as you can tell. considering that's what happened. Many Crimes, In Fact). Henry...wasn't. a lot would've had to happen for Henry to have been pushed to that point. or....specifically, a lot bad things happening to his family in a short period of time.

Elizabeth didn't die...at least, not at the time she did canonically in the Rewrite (we'll get there :))...but Charlie still did. her death, however, was not caused by William. it was an accident. a horrible, horrible accident. Charlie had tried wandering through the alleyway to find a way back inside...when she got hit by a drunk driver (this is based off of some headcanons i've seen where people say that William might've killed Charlie by hitting her/running her over with his car while drunk). William had nothing to do with her death...but that doesn't mean that her death didn't devastate Henry.

...and maybe he heard about the girl and her little crew that locked his daughter outside that rainy night, the night she died...but he manages to keep that anger down. for now.

now...look. i haven't mentioned how the Best Timeline happened. had Elizabeth not died that day, i like to think that maybe William kinda...sorted himself out, if that makes sense. tried to fix himself, tried to make up for what he put them through (emotional abuse + manipulation), even if it'd take him years to fix the damage he caused to them...he'd do it. No Matter How Long, Or What, It'd Take.

and that's what happened. Mike and Evan were...cautiously optimistic. they were old enough to recognize their dad as he used to be, and...they're willing to hope. Liz and Cass have never met this version of their father before; Liz had just been a toddler, hardly having memories of her own mother, and Cassidy was born into this. it's...odd for them...but hey, now William's actually considering letting Cassidy going to school! it seems like everything is looking up for the Aftons...

but not for Alex.

he thinks it's all a trick, some other manipulative bullshit from his father. he refuses to believe it, because it just can't be true. and so he lashes out, but one thing he did in particular was, unknowingly, the final nail in the coffin.

one day at Fredbear's, Alex and a friend of his, Jamie (Bonnie Bully), pressured Sammy to stick his arm inside the O'Hare suit, just to prove he "wasn't a chicken." Sammy did it, because he always feels the need to prove a point (and mayhaps he became reckless after Charlie died, a way of "punishing" himself for not being there for her...maybe this was yet another bit of that reckless behavior). the jaws of the suit snap shut and some springlocks set off...and then Sammy's forearm gets mangled badly enough that it needs to get amputated.

it doesn't matter that it was a genuine accident, that Sammy more so blames himself for being a dumbass, and that Alex seems genuinely guilty.

Henry sees red.

he decides that he'll be Judge, Jury, and Executioner.

so...his list of victims in order (at least his Original murders):

Brittany Marks, 13: Charlie's main bully and the main kid responsible for locking her out on the day she died. Henry took her to the back under the guise of wanting to talk to her (he dressed as Fredbear purely to make sure no one on the cameras recognized him), and despite Brittany's genuine apology (she didn't know Charlie was gonna get killed), he killed her anyway. she got stuffed into Freddy (reference to the Cake Minigame, the one that shows the other perspective of Charlie's murder).

Alexander Afton, 14: William's eldest son. Henry also lured him back by claiming that he just wanted to talk. Alex got stuffed into Foxy.

James "Jamie" Spencer, 14: one of Alex's friends. also kinda (one of) Alex's boyfriend(s), but that's unimportant atm. just kinda got lured back and then murdered him. Jamie got stuffed into Bonnie.

Kimberly "Nyx" Harris, 12: Brittany's cousin, and was technically an accomplice in locking Charlie out...mostly by being pressured into putting the box on top of Marionn's box. she technically wanted nothing to do with it. also got lured and then killed. Nyx got stuffed into Chica.

Andrew Schmidt, 12: our good old buddy Andy. one of Mike's closest friends. Henry had nothing against him, but...Andy kinda witnessed Nyx's murder. Henry made it seem like he was just gonna threaten them with staying silent the next day (June 26th)...and then springlocked him in O'Hare. guess who he possesses.

Elizabeth Afton, 9: got bitten by O'Hare in the frontal lobe on Cassidy's seventh birthday, but survived the injury. but like her brother in the canon timeline, she learns about The Murders. due to Reasons i'll discuss later, Liz and Cass were living with Henry at the time, and upon Henry figuring out that Liz somehow knew, he may have uh...pushed her down the stairs. he claimed later that she had lost her balance and simply fell.

...Cassidy saw, though.

We are going to find out about the other bullies. Cassie's dad is Bonnie Bully, Jeremy Fitzgerald and Beta tester Jeremy "REMEMBER JEREMY" Freddy Bully is Sammy Emily and the CEO of Fazbear Entertainment and the villain in this new story. Chica Bully is Fritz Smith and the new killer. Here is my pitch. Michael took Fritz Smith from his friend. Fritz was the one kid who took the fall for CC’s murder. Perhaps after all this time, he is let out or prison and Sammy is there waiting for him. Sammy offers him a job and a means for them all to atone for what happened to CC. Turn Fazbear Entertainment into a happy memory for everyone. But Sammy is lying. Jeremy’s fate we all know what happens in HW2. But The Mimic needs a new apprentice and what better killer to use than the person who took the fall for the Bite of 83.

Maybe Michael can come back. There is certainly evidence of Michael’s survival. Theory 1. Theory 2. Theory 3.

My pitch is this. Michael would find Vanessa and Gregory and help them. He’s been working on the inside of Fazbear Entertainment(his email in FNAFAR) to find out who and why is orchestrating everything since everything was supposed to die with him, William and Henry. The children are still here(Tangle) his father’s agony has infested Fazbear Entertainment and somehow his old friends are involved. At some point Michael is able to save Jeremy and Gregory and Vanessa can break through to Cassie.

The final confrontation would be between the four friends that started it all. Michael and Jeremy reach Fritz and leave Sammy down to die with The Mimic and burning them both together and Fazbear Entertainment dies with them, thus ending the nightmare once and for all.

In Ruin, if you look very closely, you will notice both Burntrap and The Tangle have purple eyes.

What if It was actually canon and Afton just transferred his remnant into The Blob and left The Mimic in his endo shell?

I believe Afton was the puppet master. Vanny and The Mimic were his thralls. The Mimic allowed Afton to use it’s body, and his resurrection was complete. And both Burntrap and Princess Quest endings were canon. First Gregory ventured down to the basement and then Gregory went back to complete Princess Quest. Gregory saved Vanessa, while The Blob took Afton away and as The Blob took Afton, Afton took control of The Blob and left The Mimic down in the basement.

And then, Afton left inside the Tangle's body. Slowly, but surely The Tangle becomes the Afton Amalgamation like in Princess Quest. Hoping it will look like this art by xXmissrosearts

FNAF Theory: Cassie's Father Was Springlocked And Became Burntrap...

[Note: Reading This Theory Is Optional, also spoilers will be mentioned from the FNAF Movie. but will talk about the theory about Cassie's Father. this will be for Mature Audience Readers Only. also do NOT reblog this without permission.]

it is possible that Cassie's Dad never came home after leaving her a note, which could possibly be that note we find when we are wearing that Security Mask that looks like Vanny.

Cassie's Father is likely The Bully that had on The Bonnie Mask, and were friends with Michael Afton/Bully Who Wears The Foxy Mask.

the friends of Michael Afton, likely tried to change and no longer be like what they were when the accident happen at Fredbear's Diner.

it could be possible that each of Michael's friends, ended up losing their lives while working at The Mega Pizzaplex or half of them did so when working at The Old Pizzeria.

if the other former bullies also had children, besides Cassie's Father & Gregory's Father...

then the other children who could be friends with Cassie, but didn't go to her party because their parents stop them because of the disappearances that were happening...

the bully that wears the Freddy Mask, could of been the elder brother of Charlie Emily.

each of the bullies that were involved in the bite of 83, and got jobs at the Mega Pizzaplex maybe as early as 202X.

each of them could of had their remnant and memories placed into Glamrock Foxy, Bonnie, Chica and Freddy.

I still can't seem to get to the place where Glamrock Bonnie is suppose to be in the Ruin DLC, it seems to be difficult at the moment, but at least I was able to get the Scooper Ending in my first time beating that FNAF-SB's Ruin DLC.

for all we know, the Glamrock Bonnie that looks destroyed, could be a Prototype, and it lets The Real Glamrock Bonnie along with Foxy, to fake their "deaths" so they can move around the Pizzaplex and turn off the cameras so they wont be found out.

even if Cassie's Father had been Springlocked when ending up in the old Spring Bonnie's suit, his remnant and memories possibly went into the Glamrock Bonnie, who was his favorite.

half of him was still trapped in the Spring Bonnie suit, while the other half was trapped in Glamrock Bonnie.

the room that we find in the mini-game, where the Purple-Guy is cornered by the ghost children, and ends up trying to hide in a Spring Bonnie suit....it is possible that that was NEVER William Afton, that it may have been Cassie's Father who was trying to help free the ghosts of those children, only for them to mistake him for someone else.

the three machines in that room, were likely The Princess Quests 1, 2 & 3.

William Afton could of still ended up being springlocked, but it was in a different location.

there could be different types of dark secrets yet to be revealed about the FNAF Timeline.

that blonde ghost boy from the FNAF Movie, is suspicious.

he is likely a bit more powerful than the other ghost children, and he likely went to get the man who was known as "William Afton".

I can't help but find that ghost boy very suspicious, and he isn't as innocent as he appears to be. in theory, it was him that may have talked the other ghost children into trying to make Abby into one of them.

because of the strong influence that the ghost boy who controls Golden Freddy has on the other ghost children, he is able to corrupt them and make them agree without questioning what they are doing is wrong.

if the FNAF Movie's Timeline also took place in the same world as FNAF-SB's Timeline, then the animatronics that are seen in the FNAF Movie could be moved to the Pizzaplex after it is fully rebuild and fixed.

they could end up being kept in a different part of the pizzaplex, like a storage location until they can be moved to a more permanent location for them.

Vanessa Shelly and Vanessa A. could be two different people, and for all we know, it could of been Vanessa Shelly who was Vanny this whole time.

the story that was being told by the Candy-Cadet, is possibly about Gregory and Vanessa, and the monster could be the mimic...

the mimic might of not of been the first one to lure Cassie to the Pizzaplex, and it might of been Gregory the whole time.

when Cassie was wearing the mask, some of her memories were likely being projected, both her best and worst moments.

one of the best memories was her bonding with Roxy,

and one of her worst moments was when no one came to her birthday party, and while it might seem Gregory was part of the best memories that comfort her, but there could be more to meets the eye to it and he may have been the reason why her friends didn't show up in the first place.

even if we do try to do a Pacifist Route in FNAF-SB, where Gregory doesn't harm the other Glamrocks and take their upgrades and give them to Freddy...

the true timeline that leads to the Ruin's Future events, will always be where Gregory took their upgrades and gave them to Freddy.

so no matter if we choose to not take the other Glamrocks own upgrades or if we do take them anyway, in Ruin DLC the outcome will always be with Gregory taking their upgrades.

the mini-games could be stories that are being told through Arcade games that are in the Pizzaplex, and the stories could be memories from the remnant taking from their original sources.

which would mean that the mini-game that shows the Crying Child, are made up of memories of the remnant that came from the Crying Child.

remnant could hold copies of the memories of the original person that it came from, the soul that owns that remnant will either be together or separate in the same or different vessel.

Cassie's Father who was likely the Bonnie Masked Bully in his Youth, his Soul may have became trapped in the Spring Bonnie Suit, while his remnant that had a copy of his memories ended up becoming a part of Glamrock Bonnie.

we could think of parts of Cassie's Father was cleaved into different places, one of them being with the original body that would become Burntrap, the other became a part of Glamrock Bonnie.

and another would end up becoming Mxes with no memories of who he originally was but only that he needed to keep Cassie from freeing the Mimic, he could have no memories of Cassie so he might not feel anything when placing Cassie in some form of danger when calling either Chica or Monty or Roxy to where she is.

but if the Mxes did have some part of the remnant that came from Cassie's Father, then it might take time for some of those memories and emotions to appear in Mxes if it ends up being brought back.

Cassie's Father likely found out about what happen to the Missing Children and the Missing Therapist, and tried to free them.

the ones he wanted to start with freeing was the children, but something went wrong when they tried to do this and it ended up causing him to try to hide in a Spring Bonnie suit and he would end up becoming trapped and not going back home to Cassie.

Glamrock Bonnie could have the Remnant of Love, Burntrap could have the Remnant of Determination or Perseverance and Mxes may have some of the Remnant that make up Justice.

if this theory proves to be true, and Cassie found out, the truth might end up hurting her and even finding out that Gregory knew what happen to her father and never told her.

we only know very little about Cassie's Father, we know that he worked at the Pizzaplex and he had a Faz-Wrench.

and the possibility that he and the Bonnie Mask Bully are one in the same person.

some fans have already theorized this, possibly from Cassie talking about how Bonnie was her Father's Favorite.

for all we know, there was always going to be some plot twists that had to do with some hidden secrets that would be later revealed as the story of the FNAF Game progressed.

Gregory could turn out to be the son of the Freddy Mask Bully, who might of not been a very good person and may have a dark secret about them, seeing as their mas was the only one that didn't show those white pupils like the Bullies who wear the Foxy, Chica and Bonnie Masks.

the one who might be deeper linked to what happens around the Pizzaplex and even at the other locations, might be Gregory's Possible Father who was The Freddy Mask Bully.

Gregory might be working with The Freddy Mask Bully, who's true name is unknown but for all we know, he could be a Emily or Afton.

it could be possible that the Foxy Bully and The Crying Child, may be a Afton but they could also be a Schmidt.

the Foxy Mask Bully could be Mike Schmidt, while the Freddy Mask Bully could be Michael Afton or Michael Emily.

both William Afton and Henry Emily, could of both named their sons Michael, and only one of them ends up going by the nicknames Mike and Mikey.

and the Michael that may have been working at the Sister Location, could of been Michael Emily and the one he was speaking to may have been Henry Emily, his Father...but then again that theory may end up being debunked and that's okay.

but Gregory could of been involved in Cassie's Father going missing and him ending up becoming a victim of the Sprinlocks.

we know there are some secrets about Gregory that might end up being revealed one piece at a time, just not fully all at once.

and for all we know, the theory about him being the son of the Freddy Mask Bully could be correct.

even if it might seem that the Mask-Bot might have the spirit of Cassie's Father, but it could be someone else who could of been close to Cassie's Father.

I might not have much to go by other than the stuff I already mentioned about the theory that Cassie's Father may be the Burntrap in the FNAF-SB's Games own Timeline, and parts of himself ended up separated, like both his Soul and Remnant may have stayed in the Burntrap, while other parts ended up becoming a part of Glamrock Bonnie and Mxes.

Gregory's Father "The Freddy Mask Bully" could of had his Soul and Remnant either end up in the Prototype Glamrock Freddy or the Real Glamrock Freddy.

Gregory might not be as innocent as he appears to be, even if we could keep him from doing any harm to Roxy, Chica and Monty but the True Timeline will always be where he ends up doing harm to them, no matter if we allow it to happen or not at the starting events that take place before Ruin.

for all we know, it might of not been Mxes that was calling Monty, Chica and Roxy to where Cassie was, and it may have been Gregory the whole time.

and Gregory could of been lying to Cassie and he was the one who was controlling the other Glamrocks and making them chase after her.

if we were able to give all the Glamrocks their upgraded parts back, like not just Chica's beak and voice-box...

but also Roxy's Eyes and Monty's claws & legs.

then that could be a interesting concept, maybe in another part of the FNAF Security Breach's story, where Cassie helps Roxy and Monty.

Monty being so aggressive like a feral animal, could be from the control that Gregory might have on him when making him go after Cassie.

there could be more to Gregory than meets the eye, and the only way he becomes "Good" is if the Player makes sure to not have him hurt Roxy, Monty and Chica and take their upgrades to use on Freddy.

but once again no matter if we choose a Paciest Route when playing FNAF Security Breach, Gregory in the Ruin's Future events will always end up hurting Freddy's friends and taken their upgrades.

Gregory could of been the one that caused Cassie's Father to end up as Burntrap, or him having knowledge of who caused it...

possibly being Henry Emily who caused Cassie's Father to become Burntrap.

for all we know, Henry Emily might be Gregory's Grandfather and it could also mean that Charlotte Emily is Gregory's Aunt.

Cassie could of been placed in Foster Care after her Father never came home, if it was just him and her.

or she may have been with her Mother the whole time after Cassie's Father went missing.

if Cassie's Father did end up becoming Burntrap and did try to free the ghost children, if the theory ends up being true then maybe it will be revealed in the future or maybe debunked.

not everyone has to agree about the theory, that Cassie's Father while trying to free the ghost children from the animatronics from the old location under the pizzaplex but only ended up becoming Burntrap and not being able to return to Cassie.

not all theories have to be correct and with how some theories are, and how some could end up being debunked, well the original fan theories that do end up being debunked can end up working in a Fanon Timeline...

not sure what else to say about the theory about Cassie's Father being mistaken for the "Purple-Guy" and even appearing as the Purple-Guy to both the Player and The Ghost Children, but it turning out it wasn't him but a man who will possibly never see his daughter again, or even if he did it would be what he had become and not the man he once was.

I can agree that Cassie's Father may be Bonnie Mask Bully, but it's okay that not everyone agrees that I believe that Cassie's Father might be Burntrap that is seen in FNAF Security Breach.

Time for Fazbear Estate lore!

Melissa Pomene has a very important reason for wanting to work at Fazbear Estate. It's not the money, though it's definitely a bonus. It was actually her dream to work there since she was a child, because she wanted to reunite with an old friend.

When Melissa was nine years old, she had a birthday party at the original Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Her mother made her invite her entire school class as guests, even the students who bullied her regularly. Her father was picking fights with her class crush and his mom. Also, her parents were divorced at the time, and things had ended quite badly between them, Melissa having gotten caught in the fallout. Needless to say, it was almost a disaster of a birthday. If it hadn't been for Classic Freddy consoling her while he directed his bandmates to do damage control, Melissa could have easily had the worst day of her young life.

Instead, it was the best birthday she ever had. And it left a huge impression on her young mind. Unfortunately, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed later that year, and Classic Freddy and his band were shipped off to Fazbear Estate for their second retirement. Melissa got wind of Fazbear Estate through a surprising source... her grandmother, Francine Cantor, who used to work for William Afton and Henry when she was younger, as a song writer and creative consultant, but now holds a bitter attitude against Fazbear Entertainment as a corporate entity. She's tried to keep her family away from Fazbear Entertainment and its characters, but after learning how happy Freddy had made her granddaughter, she knew she'd lost that battle.

So, in order to reunite with Classic Freddy, young Melissa began studying robotics and artificial intelligence in the hopes that one day, she would be allowed to see him again. In the meantime, her mother Dorothy bought her a Lonely Freddy, who quickly became Melissa's new best friend, and the key to her understanding (at least at a basic level) what kind of goofy-ass coding language Henry concocted to make the animatronics as lifelike as they are.

When Melissa was thirty years old, she began programming a singing AI named Melody. She was eventually joined by Harmony, a harmonizing AI. She treated both of them like her daughters, with as much kindness and love as she would have given a human child. As their awareness increased, Melissa watched them grow and learn, and took careful yet eager notes.

Eight years later, Melissa applied for an interview at Fazbear Entertainment. She introduced Michael Afton (Creative Director at Fazbear Entertainment as well as the current owner of Fazbear Estate) to Melody and Harmony - stored on one of Melissa's laptops - and explained that she wants to build bodies for them, and knows that Fazbear Entertainment's robotics are the the best in the business. If she had a chance to learn about Fazbear tech up close and learn how to perform proper maintenance, she could give her daughters the bodies they deserve, and she could keep them in good shape for as long as she was alive. She also told Michael about her ninth birthday party, and how she really missed Classic Freddy.

Michael honestly thought Melissa was a little kooky... but you honestly NEEDED to be a bit kooky to work at Fazbear Estate. Plus, he really liked Melody and Harmony. Maybe they were a little on the cutesy side for his tastes, but he was genuinely interested in helping Melissa give them proper bodies. And so, Melissa was hired.

Seeing Classic Freddy again the day she arrived at the Estate put Melissa through a whirlwind of emotions. She was pretty sure he wouldn't remember her after all these years... but apparently she had nothing to worry about. Not only did Classic Freddy remember her, he remembers every single birthday kid he's ever met, something that was carried on in every generation of Freddy's.

Melissa may have sobbed like a baby upon learning this and needed Classic Freddy to give her a warm bear hug to help her calm down. She's very sensitive...

considering i have a rewrite of Fnaf separate to Golden No Longer (basically just my interpretation of the canon(??) lore with some slight rewritten stuff here and there), i can just. kinda do what i want. i can do whatever i want to rewrite the lore. so, just...imagine if you will:

there's a family that lives in a rather quaint house in the woods. A father and his...ungodly amount of kids.

An eldest son, going through...a bit of a phase. Alexander.

A second eldest son, his spitting image. A people-pleaser, yet...also a bit stubborn and determined. Michael.

A middle son, a bookworm. He's rather quiet, but has some of the best grades in the household. Evan.

His only daughter. A daddy's girl through and through, his little angel. He built a hare animatronic, based off of her. Elizabeth.

And his youngest son, his final child. A socially anxious boy who was homeschooled just for that reason. He had been kept home to be protected from bullying. he never anticipated bullying from one of his own sons. a boy William is sure is going to snap some day. Only five years old. Cassidy.

it's a chaotic household, William will not deny that. although if you saw the family from the outside, you would believe it to be controlled chaos. a loving family.

but that...well, in a sense you wouldn't be wrong. William loved his kids, that part they wouldn't argue. but it was...twisted.

their mother had died giving birth to Cassidy. it had been too much strain. her death had changed William. he was paranoid of losing any of children to a similar fate. and so he tried instilling fear into them. your children can't die if they never get in trouble, right?

but in many ways...it backfired. Alexander reacted negatively, taking it out on his siblings. specially Cassidy. and Michael.

things get worse with Elizabeth's death. a freak accident caused by the aforementioned robot. the thing was acting up, and the technician wouldn't be there to fix it until after closing. William had made a rather simple request of his daughter: Don't go near Harriet today. simple as that.

Liz dying brings more problems to the household. Cassidy is practically inconsolable. he starts sneaking out to spend more time at Freddy's, comforted by some kids from Liz's school who feel sympathy for his loss. and Charlie, a girl practically like a sister to him.

then Charlie dies, those kids go missing...

and all Cassidy is left with is the toys left behind as gifts. his favorite being a plush of Fredbear, a final gift from Charlie.

Cassidy turns six that year.

Michael soon comes up with an idea, a way to keep in touch with his homeschooled brother, now traumatized by the deaths and disappearances around him. he sews a small walkie-talkie into the bear's fabric, carrying around a similar one himself that he uses to check in on Cassidy with.

and sure: maybe Michael's being salty towards Alex and his father with the comments he makes to his brother. but hey, he's a comforting presence for Cassidy, and that's what matters, right?

it's a year later,

and Alex's dumbassery has put Cass in the hospital.

Michael doesn't even express anger at his older brother, at his father for not watching them.

he's angry at himself for not paying attention.

Cassidy survives his injuries, surprisingly. he's sent home with the rest of his family to recover for the time being. one of his eyes is fucked up now, and he's almost...eerily quiet on the car ride home, simply clutching that Fredbear plush to him. he wouldn't respond to anyone else but Michael, and even then he'd just give a small smile before continuing to stare ahead.

the doctors warned that damage to the frontal lobe could cause changes to someone's personality. they said he'd probably go back to normal eventually, it'd just take some healing.

so, of course, Cassidy's odd behavior was simply chalked up to the brain damage. his hiding under the bed and in the closet, just odd behavior. his unnatural quietness just a side effect.

but...then his behavior turned more odd. he started talking of the missing children again, when just the mere mention of them prior to The Incident would be enough to send Cassidy to tears. he would be eerily quiet around Alex and Evan, hardly acknowledging their presence. but...he was acting weirdly hostile towards their father. Michael was the only person in the house that actually dared to talk to him. and everything he said? concerning.

"Did you know Gabi hid under the tables that night? She taught me how to do it, or...well, she said "better than she did it," apparently. I think she was doing pretty well."

"I hope when Naomi gets to heaven, that she gets to have that dog she was promised."

"Hey, Mickey? Tell Jeremy that it's okay. Baker wants him to stop beating himself up over it. He didn't know that he'd get taken away."

"Felix is still sad that he didn't get to tell his dad that he loved him. Apparently they had a big fight that day...."

"Kelsey forgave Andrew for leaving him alone, he wants his dad to leave Andy alone. Just...be nice to him, Mike. Andy needs it, really."

"Charlie sang to me. I didn't recognize the song, though...something about a clock..."

it creeps Mike out, but he just assumes it's nothing. some sort of coma dream he had in the hospital. but...his behavior seriously put their father off.

William talks to him alone, but...Cass just seems to hate him now. for seemingly no reason.

one morning as Michael, Alex, and Evan get up, and William gives them the horrible news.

Cassidy died in his sleep last night. suddenly.

Michael is left in shock. Alex hardly reacts, crying quietly, and Evan just leaves the table and hides in his room. they are all shown the gravesite in the woods. Michael lingers the longest.

some nights, Michael returns there, feeling something compelling him to return. he doesn't know what it is, but...he swears he sees flashes of golden yellow from the corner of his vision.

and some nights, he hears his brother's voice coming from the bear again, as though Cassidy were talking to him again.

(he thinks it's Alex, playing a cruel joke on him.

but he lies in bed, sobbing one night as he puts the bear in his room,

and he still hears his brother's voice speaking to him.

and he sounds angry.)

Let me explain a little more about them.

Much of Michael's past is based on the terror he lived at home for his father, as the trauma of the animatronics, this being the trigger for the death of Evan, William's physical and verbal abuse towards him, causing part of his adolescence had certain insecurities that hid under the mask of bullying or a problem child and part of his adulthood was tainted with that reputation, He also feels fear of rejection and abandonment, he suffered it with the feelings he had for Charlie, he did not dare to declare himself for fear that she would reject him and drive away the only person who cared and stood by his side.

With Charlie I think she is afraid of failing with her goals, she wants to make her father proud and that is why she is so hard on herself but this often causes her stress, worrying her father and Michael.

Charlie has nictophobia, since she was very little she had a certain fear of the dark that did not let her sleep at night, so her father bought her a small lamp to illuminate at least a little her room and she could sleep peacefully, but this fear increased when she stayed to sleep at the Afton's house, to be in situation, she spent the night in the room with Michael enjoying being next to his best friend, at bedtime she could not find her lamp and seemed a little anxious, but Michael calmed her down as he had phosphorescent stars on his ceiling and this calmed her down a little, but she still seemed nervous when they turned off the lights so Michael slept next to her holding her hand, this calmed her down and she could sleep peacefully for a few moments until a feeling that she was being watched woke her up and next to the bed she could see the shadow of a person who did not take his eyes off hers, this upset her and she started to scream. Even as an adult she remembers this as a nightmare that haunts her.

Talking now about his motivations, Michael is motivated by very few things certainly like Emily's family, the revenge against his father, the souls of the children and maybe the idea that he can fix the mistakes of his past since the guilt he feels for what he did doesn't let him be at peace.

Charlie is motivated by his own family, often Michael who despite the years away from her still supported her, his involvement in running the family business and his own revenge against William.

Perhaps it is their future that worries both of them the most, they have been close to death in all their search for the true story about the series of murders that William has been active in since the death of the first 7 children killed at the Sister Location facility.

Although both would certainly like to formalize their relationship once everything is over and William is out of the game, Michael would not stop thinking about a quiet life away from his past and Charlie also agrees to live that life next to Mike although for her it would end with exposing once and for all the Fazbear entertainment for hiding the crimes of William and Henry.

Continuing with William that old man, from the beginning Mike knew better than anyone that his father did not like Charlie at all but that did not matter to him until they entered their first year in their robotics career they began their courtship, from the beginning he wanted to keep this between them and Henry to avoid problems, But William discovered this on his own, acting on impulse he had a strong argument with Michael during a dinner they shared with Henry and Charlie, as Michael did not yield to William's requests to end his relationship with Charlotte, his father took him out of the house and forced him to live for a while with his family in England.

i am interested in seeing the backstory between william & vanessa though. its too vague for me to say anything regarding their relationship BEFORE william killed children & after, it was never rlly spoken about other than the Hard implications that Vanessa definitely knows her father killed the children since when she revealed she was Afton's daughter she heard screams of children. (we have yet to discover if she helped William cover anything or helped him with murder but **MY PERSONAL HEADCANON** is that she helped in some form because nobody would randomly follow a Mascot character, they WOULD follow a child (Vanessa) and the mascot character because there's already a child following a stranger/adult/parent so the Victim could assume that the mascot is safe enough to follow & hence why the children got led away so easily BUT THATS MY PERSONAL HEADCANON/THEORY THIS IS NOT ME STATING THIS IS *FACT*)

but what i will comment that ive always noticed throughout all pieces of media regarding william & his kids: He always favors his daughters. Elizabeths death was accidental, he built a robot for her. Vanessa gets to pose pictures with William, smiling for the camera & everything (minus the implications of YKNOW child neglect at a early childhood bc Vanessa in the movie seems to LOVE freddy fazbears pizza & love talking about it) so assuming Vanessa HAD a somewhat normal upbringing before William murdered children.

Williams sons however? all they got was basically child neglect & suffering & death. Evan(Crying child) being bullied by Michael, William never STOPPED him until Evan dies. Michael ending up hating Williams guts, & suffering the same fate as Elizabeth (death by animatronics yadda yadda)

also in my headcanon im making vanessa a 4th child of afton its kinda hard to jump back & forth from Movie Afton Kid & Game Afton Kid(s) so i'll just put them all as ONE family. 😭

Misconception: He didn't love his brother. Is that.... True?

send me a misconception you think people have about my character and I’ll explain if it’s true or not.

heehee. so i'm gonna say heated things in this post, anon, and it's not because you asked the question. i love this question. when i strawman in here i'm referencing things i've seen in the tags and on other social media over the years. anyways, my first response when people bring this up is usually. that is an extremely complex thing to ask a teenager in michael's position. now, i'm not saying michael is The Victim, given that evan is literally dead. i'm extremely pro-michael responsibility. while it looks like the argument over whether or not he's the bully brother has died off somewhat ( or maybe i've just cultivated my experience a bit better lol ) i used to see so many Fourth Afton Siblings and it drove me insane. i craved that moral ambiguity, that is to say the ambiguity of the action / motivation, and the cloud that it left hanging over michael's story. i liked how it served a narrative where michael callously disregarded his sibling's safety and it got him killed, only for michael to try to be the best brother he could to his sister and lose her anyways, and in much the same way. i loved that michael wasn't perfect and rankled at the push for him to be distanced from the incident because it felt like people weren't willing to say that michael could be both a victim of abuse and a bully who got a kid mauled by taking a malicious prank too far.

which brings me back to the complexity. while it does not excuse michael's actions and certainly doesn't bring evan back, i don't think it's... disrespectful? choosing a side?? to say that michael was also in a bad situation. like. based solely off what we see in the games, michael and evan are on their own. we always see them home alone in an empty house. evan walks to and from freddy's without supervision ( not super unusual, but also something that, at the time, was becoming less common -- i like it as a prelude to the mci, where parents would stop allowing their children to go out alone ). he's spending time at a venue he not just dislikes, but is terrified of, on the regular -- and we don't know why, but i've always assumed that either william is bringing him to work with him or michael is dragging him there after school ( with evan then being free to walk home if he wants to, but he's also clearly discouraged from doing so, given the number of times he tries to 'escape' ). and now he's having his birthday party there. at the very least, his father is negligent. the only family member we see him with is michael.

we're entering headcanon territory now, so be warned of that. while i do a lot of research to back this up, i will also be upfront in saying that i'm spinning a narrative because i think it's appropriate for the setting and want to explore it. hence, there's nothing authoritative here, and i understand if it's not people's cup of tea. that said, michael is the oldest afton sibling. in a lot of places, especially that part of america, eldest / older children are expected to help raise their younger siblings. given that we don't see william around, let alone a mother, i've always come away with the impression that michael was left with a lot of the daily care of the kids. get them to and from school, help with their homework, make sure they shower and brush their teeth, etc. to some people that may sound extreme or dramatic, but it's reality for a lot of kids. they're made to grow up more quickly than their siblings or only children out of necessity. this isn't a blanket judgment of this practice, because 1) utah is not the only place on earth this happens and the cultural context in other places is different, so i don't want to smear that and 2) teaching children some responsibility is not necessarily a bad thing in my eyes.

it is, however, a lot of pressure on a kid. i've made michael four years older than evan and eight years older than elizabeth. those aren't insignificant age gaps, but while he slots more 'naturally' into that parental role for his sister, he and evan are much closer in age. he's twelve when evan is eight, fifteen when evan is eleven ( where i've placed the birthday party in the timeline ). he wants to be hanging out with friends and doing his own thing, and he's being held back ( in his mind ) by having to watch his siblings and, horror of horrors, take his brother with him when he goes places. probably not unusual for where they're living, again, but still. this would normally lead to some inter-sibling resentment, but there are additional layers to this.

one, i think michael struggles in school due to his situation at home. i think both the absence of his parents and the responsibility of watching his siblings are crunching his brain, and he's mentally ill and dyslexic in a school system not designed to accommodate him. if he doesn't make sure his brother's homework gets done, he gets in trouble. forget his own homework. if william and diane are working late, he's responsible for dinner. then he has to get them to bed. once that's done, he can do his own work / shower / whatever else he needs to do. he's exhausted.

two, he is being abused. the degree to which varies from person to person but this is my blog and i say that william was physically abusive. not only do i think there's more than enough evidence of this in the games ( midnight motorist, his comfort killing children when he has kids of his own ), but secondary research has all but proven to me that you almost never see cases of child killing without abuse going on in the house. you just. as a baseline. are not simultaneously a kind parent and a child murderer. to have your own children and to be comfortable killing somebody else's children may seem like two separate things in fiction, which is why i'm not against people saying that william was 'only a little' / not physically abusive, but in real life that just... doesn't happen. and my blog for the sci-fantasy horror series about possessed bear robot is historically inspired so we all just have to live with that.

a few things with the abuse, though. firstly, michael is learning violence in the home. he is being conditioned to accept physical harm as the norm, and his father is setting the example that the right way to cope with your emotions is to lash out. and not only is mike experiencing the normal heightened emotional state of puberty, he's angry and confused and upset because his father is mistreating him. he's being hurt and he has no one to appeal to ( another big historical theme for me: a lack of intervention in hurricane; not their children, not their problem, and heaven forbid someone tell another man how to run his household! ), he can't get away from it unless he wants to pack up a little rucksack and flee ( i do believe this happened at least once and he quickly got found and returned to his parents ), so he just has to sit. and stew in it. and not understand why it's happening. because there is no good reason for it. i'm very much not like. 'william abused michael because michael acted out!' the opposite, in fact. michael acted out because he was being abused -- and because he was a teenager! and that idea always rubbed me the wrong way because, to be quite honest, abusive parents do not need a 'reason' to hurt their kids. they don't need an inciting incident. i know parents are people, but abusive parents -- parents with a pattern of violence -- are gonna do what they do regardless of how their kids act. they can say there's a reason for it, but if there isn't? they'll invent one. so there shall be no 'mike was a bully and william started punishing him more harshly' here.

secondly, michael has to cope with his situation differently than his siblings. evan is a crybaby -- and rightfully so, given what he's going through! he also lives with an abusive father, though i don't believe he's william's usual target; that house is a nightmare and he is in it with the rest of them. plus, his brother bullies him! i would cry! but i think the crying is something that michael grows to resent very quickly. michael isn't 'allowed' to cry; he's a 'man', his father expects more from him. michael 'has it worse' than evan, so what does evan even have to cry about? michael doesn't cry when he gets mistreated, and 'nobody's' mistreating evan. evan, as far as michael is concerned, is being waited on hand-and-foot by him. he's the one helping with the homework and tying the shoelaces and walking him to school and picking him up at the end of the day. he's the one losing sleep and weekends with friends to take care of him. what the fuck could evan ever have to cry about? by that logic, maybe michael should give him something to cry about -- like william gives him something to cry about. because that's what real men do.

thirdly, as implied above, michael is the barrier. he's the oldest, he's the one who looks like william, he's the puberty-riddled mentally ill punk-leaning problem child. he is his father's target of choice. and i think he took pride in that fact when it first began, that he could take it, that he could serve as a shield. but he's a child and that didn't last long. how could it? he was being hurt. he just does not have the capacity to be like, 'no, i can do this for their sakes and be happy about it, it's good that it's me and not them.' few adults can do that without developing resentment for the people they're 'defending' ( especially when that's not what's really happening -- they're not 'defending' their siblings / children / etc. from anything, they're just being attacked ). but michael can't fight back against william. william is a grown adult and his father. so he gets mad at the only person he can do anything against in this equation: the other victim.

so we have a kid at an age where he normally wouldn't want to be hanging out with his younger brother, but he doesn't really have a choice. maybe some teasing would be normal, but this boy has been subjected to violence, and has, in his frustration and confusion, turned this violence upon his only feasible target. and it is violent. it's horrible. but is this hatred? is this evidence that michael hates his brother? i don't think so. i think they are in a fucking horrendous situation and they're just trying to survive. i don't think removed and sweeping concepts like 'michael loves his brother' or 'michael hates his brother' ( as if the two are mutually exclusive? ) apply here. michael took care of his brother. you could call that love. michael tormented his brother. you could call that hate. michael intended to frighten and maybe even hurt evan, but not to kill him, and it still resulted in evan's death. did he do it out of hate? if hate here is shorthand for 'a desire to see evan dead', no. if it's 'a desire to make evan uncomfortable and upset', maybe!

but like. i dunno. abusive households are like a pocket dimension. you need years of therapy to unpack that shit. i don't think sitting down and casting judgment on michael based on whether or not one believes that he 'hated' his brother is fair or worthwhile. with all that going on above, it's not even a thought exercise i'm interested in, if the end goal is to rank michael as a Good or Bad person. rather, i want to explore what would lead to an incident like that. maybe michael loved his brother, but in that house, expressing that love in any sort of healthy way was not an option. and that's far more compelling to me than 'michael was born bad' or 'michael is an unfeeling monster'.

one of my special interests is fnaf but more importantly one of my special blorbos of all time is michael afton. since like (checks hand) 2019 he has been living in my head rent free and for what. Something something that one post that goes Get more out of life read too much into an underwritten character. AND I DID! and now i suffer for it. because do you know how interesting he is. Like yeah okay we never actually get any real development or characterization for him in the games which is like whateverrrrr. i fucking get it everyone is here for ourple guy and fredy fazbar and super scary animatronics and child murder . no one is going to care about literally the main character of the games and also ourple guy’s son who is most likely the catalyst for anything happening. no oen is going to care about the afton family and what is up with them But I Will. because yeah look we don’t get any real info about michael. BUT THE IMPLICATIONS!!! we don’t know what it’s like having william afton as your father But The Implications (does he keep up the good parent act? or, in my opinion the thing that is most likely, is he abusive?). we don’t know why exactly michael bullies his younger brother all the time But The Implications (favorite sibling type shit?? an abused kid with no healthy emotional outlet and an abused kid who seems to ‘have it better’ in his brother’s eyes?). we don’t know what happens to michael or how he feels or how exactly his life changes after he kills his brother But The Implications (would his father be angry? hate him? or would he be proud? would he kick michael out? or would he somehow rope michael into more child murder?). and i hate hate hate that we never really get michael’s feelings on the whole baby = elizabeth thing and also that she is manipulating him, but maybe he’s like going with it because he feels bad for his dead sister. But look i get it. fnaf is not about The Characters. no one cares right. WELL I DO!!!! KICKS ROCKS . scott cawthon i just wish you would’ve thought about my guy michael more considering he is like At The Centre Of It All. and there are so many parallels to draw and narratives to make between him and his father. on the other hand maybe the whole open unwrittenness of it all is good for leaving stuff ambitious and letting the fans interpret it however they want.
