i need to go more balls to the wall crazy with this blog i need to shake off the shackle of wishing canon would do anything with michael and instead boldly start claiming things that have little to no backing. if matthew can do it so can i.

michael cannot live on his own because he is a deeply mentally ill person and is an ur-example of how inability to live independently locks disabled people into abusive situations. he cannot get by without a carer, despite the fact that on his good days he is intelligent, creative, socially savvy, and eager to get out into the world, because his bad days are catastrophically bad. with structured support he could probably get through college and hold a job, but he is a teenager in the 80s in a community that thinks he is unequivocally Evil, and the mental health support available to him is just not enough. what he has is a father who is aware of how bad the system is but who doesn't have the necessary tools to really do anything more than keep his son afloat. also he is a serial killer. but it's central to the narrative in my brain that michael be smart and strong and unable to live without someone else. he builds animatronics he can run five miles he's a brawler he does the family taxes. and at any moment the rug of reality can just be ripped out from under him and none of that matters because he enters the shadow realm of misfiring synapses where everything wants to kill him and he is going to hell. and this is just how he lives. man that he is. and this is the dude undergoing parentification.

ablughblugh i love writing william because like. the guy. the middle aged father. look out there is a man and he feels entitled to your money and your youth and your life! he feels entitled to your ideas! he feels entitled to your blood! it is 24/7 about Him and His Needs! he's daddy seated at the head of the table isn't he? who decides what's right and wrong? father decides! father always decides. and do you always do what father says? of course. you cannot comprehend how sincerely he believes that the world revolves around him. that he deserves every indulgence, every comfort, and all of your understanding. and shockingly not even in a patronising mustache-twisting way! he's not rubbing his hands together and scheming! he's not actively thinking about all the ways he could take advantage of his social position to satiate himself! it's passive. it's a background belief. his customers matter less than him. his friends matter less than him. his kids matter less than him. you matter less than him. he doesn't give gifts telling himself that the receiver needs to lick his boots but he sure freaks out when they don't fall over themselves thanking him! it's not willful evil. it's not smart. it is a lack of emotional regulation stemming from the core foundation that the culture has built in him. and that's reinforced every time he gets away with something ugly. yeah he killed his friend's daughter. he was stressed okay? he's under a lot of pressure. you don't know how hard he works. and he contributes so much to the community. and he had to drink to relieve the strain. and the alcohol made him do it. so really he's the victim here. of life. and not the girl he hit with his car or beat to death in a back alley. it was her fault actually for being in his fucking vicinity when he was trying to cope with his feelings! the eleven year old did this not him.

Echo: getting grounded was totally unfair! Fives was the one who started the fight in the first place! And we never threw the Datapad!

Fives: This is so unfair! That fight was entirely Echo's fault! And we never threw the Datapad.

Rex: I need a drink.

Cody: ...I don't know what the hell just happened..

Tup: the Datapad was never thrown. But the yelling from the twins was really pissing me off so I punched myself in the eye and scuffed up the Datapad a bit before running to tell Rex that it was an injury from them fighting. I knew Rex would believe me because I'm the sweet innocent Kih'vod.

Aka: Rex adopts Fives, Echo, and Tup and is the embodiment of a tired dad. Fives and Echo fight like siblings. Tup uses his innocent looks and reputation to his advantage. And Cody doesn't know what the hell is going on.

Okay im out of drawing juice for today, but i got some rambling in bound for a little scenario and headcanon i got :3

Griefer’s leetspeak has different levels of it; understandable, bearable, and a “what did he say?” level.

So take for example, with Red and Blue (because they’re kids), “HE W0ULD TALK L1KE TH1S” with little bits of leetspeak there.

With player, it’s the normal speech he has with us. “S0M3TH1NG L1K3 TH1S” with a bit more leetspeak present

“7H3N W3 937 1N70 7HI5 K1ND 0F 5P33CH” where it’s VERY present, to a point where someone probably can’t figure out what he said (save for the Mayor who can actually understand it). Maybe a little “&@&!$@#” there too LOL

Noobador, Thaniyel, and parenting

One of the headcanons I have is that Noobador and Purple are the siblings. Originally, their duo was called “Purple and Yellow” before Green came in and they had the kids. From the sideline, Noobador saw what they were trying to get the kids into was bad and swooped them away, but he probably doesn’t have much knowledge when it came to raising them properly.

Mayor Thaniyel, being a dad himself, probably got to talk with Noobador before the whole merc Shedletsky stuff went down and told him his way of ‘parenting’ seemed enough for Red and Blue. Despite it not being the best and the three of them are still causing trouble, it seems better than what Purple and Green were trying to do to the kids. And the kids would probably take Noobador more than anyone.

2. A headcanon you weren't sure about at first but have come to like! Ok this is hard to answer because I forget what's canon and what's intricately-woven-into-my-brain headcanon but I'll say the "Kariya was an Angel" theory! I never disliked it, but I never liked it more than the simpler explanation of "Oh he's just been around the block a couple of times, that's why he knows more than the average Reaper but still couldn't pick out Joshua as the Composer-that stuff's above his paygrade." Even now it's not "canon to me" level of headcanon, but I can see the appeal and really I appreciate anything that inspires people to look a littler closer at characters like Kariya or Uzuki. Also it's really good when played for comedy. His ass is showing up at the Angel convention, stealing as many appetizers as he can, and bouncing before anyone can point out that he got fired 30 years ago for skipping meetings to go play Tin Pin with random Wall Reapers.

3. A character that fandom has helped you appreciate It's too easy to say Coco so Beat! It's embarrassing to admit but I kinda had a bone to pick with him when I was first getting into the series for sorta "replacing Sho" in neo. I didn't think he was as interesting (and to be fair he really isn't in neo until you take his relation to Rindo's arc into consideration; he works wonderfully as a back for Rindo to hide behind even if his own story was very much concluded by the end of the first game. Then there's also his dynamic with Neku, which is very very good, but he didn't need to be a player character for that. Anyways). Beat analysis posting made me actually pay attention to him while replaying the games and realize how much I'd missed skimming over him in W2 (the poor guy's really gotta try to compete with fan darling Joshua and Sho, aka the loudest fucking man alive, for screen time). His stint as a Reaper is incredibly fascinating. I forget who, but I always distinctly remember someone talking about Beat getting prepped to try and deaden his heart and become as brutal and merciless as a Reaper is supposed to be before ultimately choosing kindness in both his siding with Neku and sparing Kariya and Uzuki in W3 and man.....yeah. He's just such a good guy. He's easily in the top 10 favs now, if not the top 5

And kind of? The two fics share similar headcanons and backstories for the characters, but some of the events are different.

For example, in Encore, Magnus found out why/how Charles left his law career well after the fact and in W3 he's going to find out right away. I think Magnus and Charles' relationship was more casual leading up to the formation of the band. But Magnus coming back after dying caused him to be in his feelings more.

So it's not really a separate universe, but it's kinda like this

i always sit teetering on dropping weird ass thoughts on hurricane as a town. here's one. michael was believed by some to be a vessel for satan due to the brother murder followed by sleeping around, drug use, playing loud music, and piercing his ears.

(courtesy of my sibling) Hunter has a list of all the different dirts of different planets he's been to and he's rated each and every single one. Ex: Tatooine: no dirt, only sand. 0/10. Kashyyyk: very nice, many different kinds of dirt. Overall 8/10. He puts more detail into his descriptions but I'm too lazy to write all that.

Tup gets away with fucking everything. Those Tooka eyes are deadly.

Dogma can also do the Tooka eyes but chooses not too.

Hardcase gives the best massages. Sore neck? He'll fix it in no time. Sore back? He's got ya. Rex, Kix, and the mechanics love him.

Once, after a very long and already overstimulating day, Hardcase jokingly messed with one of Dogma's things and accidentally just, broke Dogma. He just started yelling at Hardcase, Which turned into him yelling at Fives, Which turned into him just kinda yelling at no one in particular about things that upset him. Yes there are videos of it, and yes it haunts him every single day of his existence.

Crosshair = Cat. He gravitates towards warm spaces, knocks things off of tables to make room for his own stuff, his eyes do that reflective thing in the dark. And more.

Jesse occasionally just, faints. Kix can't figure out what's wrong and he hates It.

Tup needs glasses but he goes with contacts because A, glasses break easily. And B, they can't fit underneath his bucket. Also he can't find a pair he likes.

Rex is all responsible and stuff when it comes to his legion. But the second he's with the command batch he suddenly has no survival instincts and becomes so chaotic he rivals Anakin. This disturbs everyone In the 501st. (Also, this only happens when at least three other members of the command batch are present.)

Dogma has a little emotional support plushie that's weighted. Shaak-ti gave it to him when he was a cadet and he can't sleep without it. (It's a BLÅHAJ. I'm not even gonna try and lie. It's a weighted space BLÅHAJ.)

Bly has an engagement ring picked out for Aayla but he keeps chickening out whenever he goes to propose. Aayla knows about the ring and all his attempts. Aayla acts oblivious.

I'm just gonna keep making more of these I don't care if you don't like em.

Good Evening hope this finds you well and alive. I would like to ask about Lady Konishi question 1 and 12 please.

Yaaay I was hoping someone would say Konishi!!

1. What do you like or dislike about this character? I didn't really think much about Konishi for the longest time, but then one day I wrote her pretty much by chance and developed a fondness for her from there :] I like how almost every scene she has leading up to W3 is her going "Yes sir of course sir right away sir" whenever Megumi makes some weird out-of-pocket remark or request and then turning around and thinking to herself "Wow this is a sinking ship if I ever saw one. Thank god I'm the smartest one here and will surely make it out of this alive." I like how she acts like a perfectly loyal, professional underling on the outside while on the inside she's always trying to work out a loophole to exploit if things go well and an escape route if they don't. She's very Quintessential Reaper that way, acting on ambition and ambivalence rather than outright malice towards her coworkers (at least how I see it. I don't think she particularly minded working for Megumi or had any desire to see him fail, she just worked out that it was the most likely outcome and sought to benefit from what was probably already a foregone conclusion).

Really I think the only thing I don't like about her is her Noise form.

It's cool, but it could have been done better. It's a bit too anthropomorphic, which irks me when her male counterparts all have very distinctly animal bodies in their Noise forms

But nooo she's gotta have the cleavage and the six inch waist :/ She looks more like a circus performer than a monster, which I wouldn't even mind if that was the theme, but it's not, and the more I look at her side-by-side with the others the stranger it gets. Oh well. All that said I do like how she reclines with a bored/annoyed look on her face and her claw up like she's taunting Beat and Neku.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character? She's actually closer to Megumi in age than Uzuki, Sho, or Kariya. She died in her mid-to-late-20s under a lot of pressure to find a husband and have kids, something she adamantly didn't want. She's incredibly pissed that she now has to spend her afterlife wrangling three of the world's shittiest teenagers.

(Uzuki's the one she tolerates the most. She sees something of herself in her. Kariya she can't get a read on and it unsettles her, especially since he's been around even longer than she or Megumi have. She cannot STAND Sho. Had she survived the fight against Beat and Neku she would've thrown him under the bus the moment she got the chance.)

Also, I like to think that her erasing 777 wasn't necessarily an act of malice or payback, but a strategic move on her part to curb any potential rebellion. The UG's got enough petty bitches, in my mind Konishi doesn't do anything without good reason. The Reaper's Game is eat-or-be-eaten. You break a rule, you face the consequences. No hard feelings, kid. Since no one ever fully trusts anyone else, that kind of "backstabbing" isn't considered particularly abnormal or even "cruel" in a sense, it's par of the course. 777 should have known better.
