There were times when Aizawa Shota regretted becoming a father. This was one of them. He knew that his profession put his child in danger of losing a parent at any moment, but he promised himself every day that he would return home safely for their sake. It was what kept him going. But what he had never expected was that he would be the one to lose someone so dear to his heart in a hero mission.

Aizawa was in the middle of a nap when Kaminari shouted the news. “OH MY GOD, THE X-TEAM VANISHED!”

Aizawa knew that team all too well: it was your team.

“Give me that,” He muttered, taking Kaminari’s phone from his hand and skimming through the article. 

X-Team… heroes sent abroad… villain ambush… notorious killers… location unknown… heroes vanished… presumed dead. He reread those last few words. “All heroes presumed dead.” It couldn’t be - it just couldn’t. You had to be alive… you had to.

In that moment, as he sobbed on the floor of his classroom, Aizawa Shota wished he had never encouraged you to be a hero, never let you join the agency known for taking on the most brutal internatonal missions, never taken in a child with such immense potential only for that potential to be cut short in such a terrible accident.

Weeks of searching were to no avail. Try as they might, international heroes could find nothing regarding the X-Team’s location, not a piece of clothing, or a message, or a villain that might spill. Until they found the bodies. Three of them, young adults, disfigured beyond identifiability. But one of them lined up with you - same height, build, gender, age… and clearly the victim of the villains you were chasing. For all Aizawa knew, it was you.

Aizawa Shota is a tired man. He always has been. But weeks of sleepless nights, long days of worrying, and the nightmares… it took a toll on him. He was barely functioning as a teacher and as a hero. Only pure exhaustion would make him sleep, and what little rest he got would never last. So it was no surprise when he, having not slept in days, hallucinated a person in his house.

Illuminated only by the light of the fridge (which, he noticed, had been largely emptied of its contents), the imaginary person turned to him and waved, mouth full of food.

“‘Ello!” They said, grinning. Aizawa knew that voice. That was your voice.

“Oh god… I’m losing it,” He muttered to himself, “I’m fucking hallucinating.”

“But you’re not though? Waittt are there two of me? Or a shadow demon in the corner? HI SHADOW DEMON!!” 

Perhaps it really was you - his child, the little creature he raised from nothing, his reason for living and the most amazing person in his life. 

“Ah, shit, you probably think I’m dead, don’t you? Long story short it was a whole scheme, our cover got blown so we had to hide for a while, the villains wanted to make it look like they killed us, we got in undercover with some reinforcements and they took forever to get to us, then all of a sudden we get out of our hidey hole and everyone thinks we’re dead? I dunno, it was pretty wild though. Sorry for spookin’ you… but we got the job done so it’s fine, right?”

Your father collapsed into your arms. Your very solid, very real, very alive arms. For weeks it had seemed hopeless, like he’d truly lost you. But all that time… all that time you were working diligently, making the best of your situation, the dedicated child he loved so much. Home at last, safe.

“Dad? Daaaaad. There’s really no need to cry, I’m fine! Yeah it was messy, but hey, it all turned out fine! It always does, doesn’t it?” Though you complained, you missed your father. Two months away from home, one of which was spent cut off from most of the world, took a toll on you too.

“Kiddo… you can’t just scare me like that,” Whatever strength he had left was put entirely into the rib-cracking embrace he gave you, tears soaking into your shirt, “I thought you were dead. I thought I lost you.”

“Hey dad, do you remember what you told me when I was little?” He nodded. “How I wasn’t allowed to worry about you when you went on missions because you’d always find a way back to me? Well, now that I’ve gone pro, I think it’s time that bargain went both ways. Because our silly little family - Auntie Kamaya, Uncle Yamada, those other kids you adopted from UA, you, and me - we’ll stick together.”

Aizawa let go of you, placing his hands firmly on your shoulders and looking into your eyes, “Yeah… I’ll try not to worry. Now I’m going to sleep… and you’d better have the fridge reorganized by the time I wake up.”

“Reorganized, restocked, and breakfast on the table. For all the stress I caused you,” You promised as he trudged to his room. Now, there was only one issue between you and seet, sweet sleep - how the hell were you going to get groceries to make breakfast if the whole country thought you were dead???

I agree with your take on marvel and the MCU and how the focus on cameos and creating an interconnected universe while fun and makes for great event cinema but from a narrative and character development level it was also major hindrance. I personally think one problem is this spiderman felt a little unrelatable and placed more emphasis on big intergalactic set pieces and neglecting the fact that spiderman was about the neighbourhood. Like the earlier films particularly sam raimi films, peter was this dude struggling to pay rent, working multiple jobs to help is aunt, balancing school and spiderman and failing, battling with anxiety like that shit was so real and relatable. Instead of playing into a younger peter parker who has deal with high school things/ issues they kinda ignored all the things that made him so relatable and focused on tony stark mentorship of peter parker where everything was kinda given to him. NYC never became its own character like in the raimi films. Aunt may, mj were given substance none of which exist in the MCU. Peters day to day realities was sort of pushed to the side, so we can focus on him being an avenger. Peter parker is so beloved b/c of how grounded he had always been but also because it was someone with overly insane strength or superpowers but some who needed to find a balance in his lofe and find ways to overcome villans with his agility and intellegence.

Marvel really dropped the ball, those movies are fun dont get me wrong but I never really felt connected to the character despite how amazing tom is as spiderman/ peter parker

I've been saying this stuff (EVERYTHING you listed) since day 1 when HOCO came out.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED HOCO, and I love Tom's Spiderman films. But one of the things I noticed right from the outset was that we don't really get to know much about PETER in them.

There's barely any character development for him, let alone his friends.... And he's barely in NYC half the time lol.

One of the things that made the Spiderman character so great (like you mentioned) was the fact that he was the "every day hero". He wasn't wealthy at all, he was an orphan, he was self-made, he struggled, he had to find a good balance btwn his crime-fighting life and his love life, etc.

But when you have Peter being handed everything to him, thanks to Tony Stark, you don't really feel the relatable feeling towards him that most fans felt with the OG films, and the type of relatability that made the Spiderman character so beloved and GREAT! 😁

Granted, as much as I loved the Tobey/Raimi films, I'm sure fans don't want just a remake or a Raimi 2.0 film with Tom's Spiderman lol 😆, but I think in trying to make him do different from the other two Spider MEN, Marvel ended up removing so many things that actually made the Spiderman character so awesome for fans. 😩😓

That's why, when I saw those scenes at the end of NWH, and saw Peter finally in his own crappy apartment lol, with his GE books, and sewing his own Spiderman costume, I immediately felt like, "Ahhhh.... Now we can FINALLY get back to the Spiderman character I know and love, who's just an everyday man, no bells, no whistles, no Avengers, no rich Surrogate Father figure to provide him with everything lol 😆

Those few little minutes were so relatable and grounded, that I can only imagine how awesome a full movie would be with everything like that. 👍🏾

Rue= to techno knight she was meant to be a piece of shit to her and midnight. He evuntally fused with copyes character and became the rue I know now.

Blacknoise; was gonna do the one being splits into 2 and there's a good and evil one and blacknoise is the evil one LMAOOOO. Originally blacknoise and techno clashed a lot more and techno found blacknoise annoying.

Storm-> Gale = was the abonded marxolor kid for some reason. I believe she ran away and later goes to fuck with Chaos and Wish.

We have two main versions of Batman:

- good writen Batman who is trying his best to change the city.

- proto facist Batman who always wins, is always ready for everything and thinks beating his criminals and sending them to hell in an endless cycle will somehow work out some day.

And not all Batman villans are queer, poor or neurodivergent (point to Scarecrow for being all the above). Shocker I now.

He has a lot of villans that can easlly represent systemic inssues (small ones like Lyle Bolton and Arnold Flass or major ones like Hugo Strange and the Court of Owls ) or are mostly capitalisc assholes (some versions of Penguin, he has other tamer mob related versions, ones he is almos an anti-hero and weirdly he also has the one who is just Poison Ivvy for birds; the first Black Mask would also fit here), just plain mob (some versions of Oswald, he is a very multi faceted characther; Maroni; Falcone; Black Mask; both Jason Tood and Two-Face had their mobster time).And some are a mix of both (Joker is queer coded and an abusive piece of shit; while I hate Scarecrow slander he is queercoded, poor and neurodiverget but also he can be saw as contributing to systemic opression by abusing his patients, when narratives make him an ex pyschatrist in Arkham who abused the immates) .

It all depends on how the characthers are portrait. Unfortally when writing grimdark asshole Batman most writers preffer to go to the "let's stigmatize the mentally ill/queer people//and some times the poor and if we really suck middle eastern people (this one is mostly about some depctions of Ra and the League of Assassins as a whole)", I mean they are basing their writings on Frank Miller. Of course it has bad undertones.

This long introduction is to say that I am talking about number four. The Batman who could've come straigh up from ASBAR.

So a thing that happens in fanfic with this Batman is storys were a different version of Bruce comes and rescues the batkids. Or Jason Todd does it. Or Dick Grayson. Or some of the Rogues (fortunally never Joker or Slade, let's keep it that way, eh). A LOT OT THEM. And honestly this is fine. It IS also very cathartic.

I'm not here to judge it. I'm here to give this authors who create catharsis for themsefs and their readers (me included) some new ideas:

- Kate Kane saves the batkids. First of, Kate deserves some love. She may not be the most maternal person out there, but she is a great aunt and would likely be the most apt adult to see what Bruce was doing and interving. As she is a cosntant figure in Gotham and in direct contact with both the Batman and the Bruce sides. She would have trouble but also do an amazing job not only as guardian but as the hero Gotham needs. And if nothing more that would be fun.

- Barbara Gordon saves the batkids. Okay, I have a soft spot for older Barbara who acted as Dick older sister and as Bruce's younger sister. The one before DC started gradually deaging her. The one who was a concilwoman. And that Barbara would definitivaly do something. Also I just love her.

- Barry Allen rescues the Batkids. When not used as the watsonian reason for bad reboots, the flashfamily is the most functional family in DC (and I say that as a batfam lover). Also Barry sideckicks all already have a Robin bestie. So it's very easy. Not only that, but Barry it's the only option that can also save the opressed side Batman rogues and actually help them rehabilited and I NEED it. The asshole versions of Bruce treats his rogues soo bad I can't. And like most times they still are redemable. Like the only justification the media will give is "they are sick so they can't change" and like WTF. As a neurodivergent person who also suffers from high anxiety, this is problematic as hell as a jistification. Also it mades no narrstive sense. I mean yeah, Joker is irredimable. But why are Riddler and Ivvy in the same level as him?

- Lord Death Man rescues the batkids. I won't explain. But he is Damian step-great grandfather and he treats the apprentice he considers the daugther he never wanted fairly well.

- The batkids join the Shazamfamily. They are also very fuctional. And people always make Billy joins the Batfam so it's time to the inverse.

What’re your reasons/ideas behind your top hc’s for Bro

i'm brain dead right now after a full shift so let me give you the long short list and a more general explanation of my general fascination with this guy

the basis of my takes and hcs on bro stem from approaching him and viewing him as a person who is flawed and wrong and misguided, but a person and not a generic one faced boogeyman. he is an abuser, he has a lack of boundaries and he has violent tendencies, but i don't look at it in a vacuum because unlike dave who's only ever seen what bro allowed him to see, we can look at him as a whole.

i picked him up a couple years ago in a group roleplay server, mainly as a "i don't trust anyone else to write him/haha wouldn't it be funny if" and since then he's been living rent free in my head - but he's out grown what canon gave us.

and the fundamentals of that are:

0 | SPITE, DISGUST AND FRUSTRATION: he is a fascinating character in his own right, but goddamn is he polarising and one prone to settle in the extremes of fandom perception to the point that people have to fucking tag him as a trigger warning nowadays, which makes people unwilling to interact and engage in more nuanced discussions of him out of avoidance of being harassed which is understandable. however this kind of left him as a character to the wolves, and now a lot of his more recent works and his entire tag in general in whatever site you use has been trashed by incestuous pedophiles - which makes people even less wiling to interact with the concepts brought up in his character. and honestly fuck that. i'm willing to endure dealing w their bullshit directly n i'm willing to call these people what they are (groomers sharing csa material for personal gratification and desensitisation) and i'm not giving them free reign of bro's tag anymore. these freaks should be rightfully shunned and mocked and judged where ever they go because they're too deep in self-denial to ever change.

I | EXTRAPOLATION: with alpha dirk's introduction we were left with a question, how could this kid end up like his beta session self? what could possibly drive the dirk we grow to like and see multiple facets of become this shell of a man? and boy do i love assuming and explaining shit away for people who are barely characters in their own right. free reign to do whatever i want baby.

II | BRAIN DAMAGE: the answer to that question is to chip away at the soul and to scramble a man's sense of reality. i haven't really been in the headspace for it but id love to one day fully explore the horrors of Bro and Lil Cal's codependency for those 30 some years. with that as a base (but not an excuse) i started to slowly piece him back together, and working with the 'undesirables' of mental illness. he is an unmedicafed paranoid schizophrenic with hoarding tendencies who was diagnosed with aspergers as a child... and then punished for it, being effectively abandoned by the system to fates whims and blamed for never having his needs met. his one solid connection at any point in time was lil cal. but instead of villanizing him for having these traits... i see him as someone who was trying to help, but was misguided by his closest confidant and blinded by his over controlling paranoid nature and compulsory need to one up people. everything bro did, he did to help dave... he just never stopped to think about if he was going about it the right way, because he saw dave as an extension of himself and thus of course thought his behaviour was appropriate, because he is acting as who he wished he had when he himself was a kid.

III | PROJECTING AND RELATABILITY: damn he just like me fr. aka on top of all of that, i've grown to attach some of my own traits onto him and vice versa as a means of coping with my own backstory and as a backwards way of acknowledging that my feelings are valid... by allowing bro strider of all people to also go through them and changing myself to have compassion for him.

Kolis - A villain or just a name?

I am back rumbling and giving my unnecessary opinion on irrelevant topics.

I wrote this on the Facebook JLA group but it got rejected so it never saw the light (I don't know why lmao) but I remember more or less what I wanted to say and I still have those thoughts so I will share it here but adding a few new thought.

One of the keys writing that is known by majority of people, independently if they are in fact writers or not, is that a writer must show instead of tell. The readers must be shown what the characters have to go through and the characters must be shown pain, love, suffering, etc. Both characters and readers have to “live” the experience for any type of writing to be good.

We all (You and I!! <3) already know who Kolis is, but short and sweet he is the big very bad guy. It was already stated in the prequel of Blood and Ash, Flesh and Fire that Kolis is a strong enemy. He made the main characters go through hell and his name would even anger the gods themselves. But, what is Kolis in Blood and Ash universe? He is a name. Agree or disagree with me, but Kolis is someone the characters were warned about, they still do not know how far he would go, what he is capable of doing, or why they should be ready for him. Poppy, Cas, and the others have not "experienced themselves" how much of a villain Kolis could be.

Isbeth, The Blood Queen

Believe it or not, Isbeth is extremely important in this conversation. Why? Isbeth was a great villain. She was complex and had a background, she was completely unhinged that woman was capable of anything not give a fuck who she had to step on wherever were innocent people, her daughters, or even gods and primals she gave a shit and all because of the love she fell for a piece of shit (Malec) and the hate and resentment she had for Eloana, Atlantia and Nyktos. Isbeth was a nightmare to the characters in Blood and Ash. They were kidnaped, to torture (or beth), they had their entire families killed or the person that meant the most to them killed, they were kept away from the world and hidden away, or turned into a dead-alive thing, they had their people living in fear and hiding for centuries, etc etc. Isbeth? was an amazing villain, she served that role amazingly.

But why do I say that Isbeth is extremely important when it comes to talk about Kolis' role in Blood and Ash? Because Isbeth is the standar. Kolis is the final villan, the last step between the “good” characters and peace. Kolis was a threat to Primals, to Gods, to Drakens, etc, he manipulated, murdered, tortured, kidnapped, lied, etc, Kolis basically bend the world and everyone in it to his will and no one could stop him. When he comes into the Blood and Ash universe he can NOT cause less damage than Isbeth. The reader and the characters have to be given reasons to why say “oh fuck”, Kolis has to having the readers believing that Isbeth was not that bad, that we were not ready, otherwise, what is the point in even having him on the Flood and Ash serie?

Kolis can't just be a name thrown around without any real impact or significance in the story. He needs to be portrayed as a true villain who is capable of causing even more damage than Isbeth did.

Author note: Flesh and Fire might take place in the same universe but both are literally centuries apart and have whole different characters. I really hope Jen will not be lazy in this one and make Kolis the enemy of Blood and Ash too, to explore him and to also creat struggle for the other characters.

I personally believe and also hope that Kolis will be the one to blame for the death of a beloved character. THAT would be struggle for the other characters, that will be something Isbeth have not done, and that will be great to show how far Kolis will go as character, it shows that we should fear for the rest of the characters because kolis is a threat and that is a great villain. The inly question left to answer is who?

(I might make a post about who is most likely to die or something similar lmao I will probably do it)

i really liked it! not as much as i thought i would, though? my expectations didn't line up exactly with what it was. i think mostly because i didn't really get what was happening for a while also lol.

i loved the writing SO MUCH. "so it goes" will haunt me absolutely forever. the pillar of salt passage in the prologue. also, i love to annotate my books and i read it as a library book so i can't wait to highlight the shit out of my own copy soon!!!!

i think my favorite piece was when he finally met the author he's been obsessing over and it was just some guy lol. also the ruined city described like the surface of the moon. the time skips and travels to space treated incredibly seriously within the narrative. i loved the structure and the syntax and the interesting little pieces of humanity and the fact that there weren't any villans they were all just people and they all were just doing their jobs.

Not on my birthday!!" She said as she smiled reaching under the seat to pull out a Tommy gun. Climbing to the front seat sitting on her mothers lap she leaned out the passenger window. "Go back to the Rat cave your not gonna put a downer on my weekend!" Y/n yelled shooting off round towards the tires,windshield,and headlights.

The mobile didn't seem to have a scratch as as a motorcycle pulled up beside it. Slipping back in the car the younger women pouted looking at get parents. "He called his little birdie no doubt the replacements in the car." Y/n huffed as she dug around for more fire power. "Puddin we have a visitor.~" The red mask gazed at us as he lifted a forearm pistol. Shots were fired and Joker took a hard right almost like tron the motorcycle quickly turned into a ally to avoid being hit. "Sorry Princess might have to cut tonight shot." He said licking his lips as a thump came from the roof making the youngest clown snarl her eye crazed as she shot above her as the purple car swerved wildly. "YOU'RE RUINING MY BIRTHDAY,BATS!!!" Y/n cackled madly a mixture of her parents laughed till the magazine ran out.

They got to one of their warehouses where Jokers men were armed to the teeth. The clown mask had black soulless eyes and immediately fired the moment the batmobile entered. Y/n skipped out of the purple Lamborghini she got on her tippy toes and kissed her dad on the cheek. "I got the hooded punk. Can you clip the bats wings for me...a little present?!" He laughed as he armed himself with a shotgun. "Anything for my princess." The f/c sf/c female clown skipped away knowing that the motorcycle riding vigilante was hot on her tail. That's how she found herself on the roof tops jumping the gaps as heavy footfalls followed. Her loud laugh echoed as she leaped to a smaller building hiding behind a vent the moment the brown leather jacket came into view she tackled the tall man. They were both panting as a grin pulled on the clowns lips.

"Caught ya,Jay bird." I giggled pulling of the helmet his apple green eyes covered by a second mask stared at me he chuckled as his hand slipped above his head in mock surrender. "Yeah you caught me,beautiful." Leaning down I kiss him my hands pushed into his cheeks my thumb running over the scarred J. We've been dating for awhile now ever since dad kidnapped the second Robin at seventeen. I was fifteen at the time and dad had me at his side as he tortured him.I was always there to stitched him up and put burn cream after shock therapy I didn't know how we got attached maybe because he wanted to rebel a little by talking to me or someone around his age saw the same if not worse shit.

Six years ago(Y/n 15 Jason 17)

"Why are you helping me?" Looking up his head was strapped down along with his arms and legs. I shrugged my shoulders I knew who he was if I wiped off the make up and temp dyed my hair I was the honor student in the same class as him. Jason Todd anyone with eyes had a thing for him,but after removing his mask it wasn't hard to piece together who the bat fam is. "I know what my dad has planned for you Jay. This is just a band-aid on a gunshot wound and might I say that's very unhelpful." This was the first I spoke to him and it wasn't long before Dad beat him to death.

Two years later.

I sat in the back of the car as Frost drove. We just left the cemetery. "Why are we doing this,n/n." He asked looking in the rear view mirror at me. I'm seventeen now my thoughts screamed at me. Why was I trying to bring him back? "Because I crazy that why!" I giggled as we grew closer to the lazapit. He was dressed in a black suit with red tie his body sunk into the water as I waited. A loud gasp drew my attention as he shot up a white streak in his hair. "Heya sleeping beauty." Looking over in shock he lowly made his way looking like a baby deer. "I'm alive,but h-how?" His green eyes looked at me. "A Ghoul owed me a few favors I just asked to use his fountain of youth." Handing him a towel and some clothes. "Sorry about the outfit,but Arkham does have one size fits all." Jason chuckled as he started to dry off.I realized why I brought him back. I was crazy about him.

Two more years later(two years ago)

Jason wanted to stay dead he didn't go back to His dad and brother after he realized that neither of them tried and save him. It was sad to see,but it brought Jason closer to me and he started to trust me and I gave trust in return. Blood coated my hands while some was on my face. Looking at Jay some was speckled on his cheeks taking the pockets square out of the mobsters coat I wiped it off he looked down at me his arm slipped around my waist pulling me closer my breath hicked. "Will you be my girlfriend,my little jester?" A large smile grew on my face as my arms went around his neck pulling him down further. "Gladly,Jay bird." I kissed him not caring if my lipstick stained his lips and he didn't seem to care either as the kiss grew more intense. We shared our first kiss at nineteen surrounded by dead bodies as sirens and the unmistakable sound of the armed batmobile. At least he's as crazy about me as I am about him.

They were separated after this and techno knight was sleepy ass for ages and balcknosie eventually found his way to a museum

Tech evuntally wakes up and goes on a quest to find blacknoise, well after she cleans off any vegetation that grew on her.

- they get reunited and run off out of the msueum. While security chases them and techno 2 new betsies Midnight nad Rue awgo helped in this break out misson and now all 4 are on the run

- anwyas there's also the mirri incident which is fectos floras fault but no one knows that..not even flora and trauma I think but who cares it's long and a whole other story on its own point is techno knight meets Kirby, Meta and Susie. This incident is how she meets them and gets their help to save the place she and the others were hiding in

- anwyas techno knight wants to be a knight just like meta knight but Blacknoise is heasitant to let that happens but allows her to go train and now they are still on the run but one is off training else where and they decide yeah let's just hop off the planet

- balcknosie follows with techno and midnight goes to ripple star while rue goes to popstar. They will reurinte at some point but they separate for now 👍👍👍 okay yeah.
