Housewife au part two
In which you go out to dinner
--
A/n: I'm going to flood you guys with Namjoon content like you wouldn't believe
Namjoon seemed almost entirely uninterested in you. Earlier, you weren't sure if this was reassuring or uncomfortable, but now that you had been sat at a table in a fine dining restaurant where the food cost more than your rent, you could safely say it was uncomfortable.
Namjoon seemed to be a nice enough man. He was polite and charming and extremely handsome. You almost felt bad for taking this man off the market when he could surely find a wife more beautiful or smart, someone more like him, who didn't shudder at luxury and the expensive life he was so clearly accustomed to. When you first met, he oozed professionalism, so much so that you almost felt like you should be sitting across from him at a meeting table. While he smiled, it was stiff and forced, and you wondered how he truly felt about a wife being procured for him.
He was the one who offered to take you out for dinner, though you were sure his mother "suggested" it to him, and he bought you a nice dress and shoes to wear so you wouldn't look out of place in the restaurant.
Well, nice was an understatement. It was the most comfortable yet classy dress you had ever worn, the fabric stretched and hugged your body like it was made for you-- and considering how much his mother knew about you, it may as well have been-- and was a lovely deep red color that complimented your skin. The shoes were less comfortable, but no less expensive and looked really good on your legs. It was strange to look own at yourself and be impressed, you had never been wrapped in luxury before. Even when your father was spending lavishly, he never spent too much on you, mostly buying yachts and beach houses and luxury items for himself. Actually now that you think about it, the only thing he paid for you was your college money, and you wondered if he only did that as an excuse to say he was doing it for you.
"Y/n," Namjoon said, and you jolted, shocked out of your self reflection. He was raisng a brow at you, and you realized the waiter had come back to take your orders.
"Oh, um, can I have the," you glanced at the menu again where you had mentally benchmarked the cheapest thing on the menu. "The caprese salad."
"Alright," the waitress said. "We'll be right back with your order, Mr. Kim." She said, eyes fixed on him as she walked away. He, however, was staring hard at you, scrutinizing you in some way and you fidgeted with your fingers, looking away.
"Are you only going to have a salad?" He asked, expression unreadable as he waited for your answer.
"Um," you blinked, wary of what he was asking. Speaking with him felt like a quiz, some sort of mental gymnastics. "Yes?"
"You won't be hungry afterwards?"
"Oh, I'm okay." You waved your hands dismissively. "I don't want to make you pay too much for me."
He furrowed his brows at that, like you had just said something he found strange, or maybe even stupid, and waved the waitress back over. "Do you like pasta?" He asked you and your eyes widened.
"Um, yes, but you don't have to--"
The waitress came over quickly and eagerly. "Yes, Mr. Kim?"
"Add a fettuccine di aragosta."
"Of course!" She smiled, and walked to the kitchen quickly.
The silence that followed was awkward, you staring down at the table to avoid his eyes. He was still looking at you and it almost made you shake in nervousness.
"You should eat more. It's not heathly to skip meals or eat too little."
"It hasn't exactly been a choice so far." You replied. While it was meant to sound snappy, it really sounded exhausted, as if speaking it made out all too real.
You heard him sigh quietly, and lean in towards you. "I know. But I'm just letting you know that I want you to take better care of yourself. You won't be on your own anymore, you'll be taking care of my mother and father. You need to be at your best."
You looked up at him through your lashes, too intimatidated to look at him straight on. "You don't have to pinch pennies, any thing you need from now on my family can provide. You need to be healthy in order to take care of them, and when we have a baby."
"When we what?" Your head snapped up at that, looking at him straight on.
"My mom didn't tell you?"
"She only said we were getting married." You weren't ready for a baby!
"Okay, listen, don't worry about it, it's not a pressing matter." He said, trying to soothe you and the worry clear in your eyes. "I'm sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself, you don't have to have a baby if your not ready, or at all, honestly, it's mostly an expectation to ensure that there's someone to take over the business when I step down." He explained matter-of-factly.
"Isn't that a sad reason to have a baby?" You asked.
That made him stop and blink, shocked or surprised by what you said. The look of him so dumbfounded would privacy have been funny in any other scenario. "What?"
"Your food, sir!" The waitress returned with your trays, placing down his steaming steak and potatoes and your salad and delicious looking fettuccine with an elegantly placed lobster on top.
"Thank you, can you bring a Moscato d'Asti?" He asked her and she nodded happily going off to fetch it for him. "Do you drink?"
"Um," you murmured, the memory of alcohol bottles that you father would drink and leave pulled up by the couch. "Not often."
"This wine is a good one, it's sweet and smooth." He paused, murmuring to himself. "Ah, I always forget, do red wines go with pasta or white?"
You chuckled, despite yourself. "It's fine, I prefer sweeter wines anyways." You picked up your fork, digging into your pasta, Namjoon doing the same with his food.
"This place is the best. Their food is always perfectly cooked." He praised, cutting off a piece of his steak. He held up the piece to you. "Would you like to try some?"
You looked at him for a moment, then leaned forward to take the offered bite. You were immediately impressed by the softness of the meat and the depth of flavor. "Thats the best thing I've ever tasted." You said dreamily. He chuckled at your reaction, going back to cutting up his food.
You took a forkful of pasta into your mouth, practically moaning at the taste. "Nevermind. This is the best thing I've ever tasted. Here," you gathered another forkful, holding it out to him.
"Ah, I don't... eat seafood." He admitted bashfully.
"Oh, sorry."
"No, no, don't be. But I'm glad you like it." He gave you a smile, much more genuine than how he had smiled when he first met you. It was warm and contagious, you smiling as well as you realized he had adorable dimples.
The waitress returned with two glasses and bottle of red wine. "Here's your wine, sir, allow me to open it for you." The bottle opened with a pop, and the two glasses were filled with the fizzy red liquid.
After the waitress left, Namjoon picked up his glass, swirling the liquid as he looked down at it. "I know this may not be what you wanted, and in all honesty, I wasn't really looking forward to this, but you seem nice, and I hope we can at least be good friends." His eyes met yours in sincerity, and you nodded.
"I hope so too." You picked up your glass and clinked it against his. This won't be so bad right?

I love Ameri. I really do. she is a very interesting and funny character. I loved her developpement.
But i wonder if her relation with Iruma is really heathly.
I have the impression that she force things. Because he barely realize that it's date things. He blushes when she hugs him but that doesn't especially mean that he's in love with her, more that he confused by his feelings. A girl that he likes hugged him after have danced with him, of course he's confused.
She panicks for the most little thing, lie when Gyari says "i'm going to marry both kuromu and you", she is like "it's not truth, iruma, right?" like...why do you ask girl? that's obvious that that's not real. Gyari is flirting with girls since the beginning of the festival :/
She is jealous of Chima. It's kinda...bad to be jealous of a child. Chima is clearly younger than 14. She was also jealous of Azz and Clara.
She acts a little like if Iruma was already her boyfriend...i think that it's kinda unfair to invite Iruma at what is clearly a DATE while hiding from him that that's a date. when she invites him to the restaurant, she ask the waiter to not tell Iruma the meaning of a thing who seems be a couple thing. From Iruma's side, he thinks that she just invited him to eat delicious food.
And if the spoilers of chapter 285 are true (the chapter was in chinese so i didn't understand), she kinda force him to come with her to the deviculum, without asking if he can or if he has already something planned. Especially that she knows that he can't say no. Iruma was like :O and has not really answered. Meaning that he still confused about his feelings and all.
Again, I love Ameri, but i have the feeling that she take a little too much advantage of Iruma's inability to say no and that she forces her feelings on him. Especially that I think that, with all the traumas that he has, he's not ready for that. of course she doesn't know about all his trauma but i really think that iruma shouldn't feel pressured.
Also i have a very bad feeling about this deviculum anyway :/
I actually didn't like ameri. How she acted around iruma made me cringe so much
until someone has kindly pointed out to me that this is her first time having a crush on someone!
I was like of course! That's why she blushes and stutters and doesnt act like the confident ambitious ameri she is.
She doesn’t know what to do with these feelings! She doesn't know how to act around someone she likes! And her only source of information is a shoujo manga!
Now does this information makes me root for her? No. I feel like them being siblings would be cuter
Anyways
I also don't think how she acts about iruma is right. She shouldn't be jealous or question, because until she and iruma become a thing she has no right to act like that
Also why is she jealous? It's not like iruma is with anyone. she is literally free to hang out with him whenever she wants as long as iruma is comfortable with it
And about the latest chapter I haven't seen it yet, so I don't think I should comment on it until i can read it ^^'
