I've thought about it for longer than two seconds and now I've decided that Kirk, Spock, and McCoy would ALL be fighting over Abe Sapien. They'd be down bad for that fish man.

Extremely intelligent hot scientist investigator? Jim would be so disappointed that he lost his memories of the Civil War and McCoy would be desperate to know more about... how you turn a man into a fish-man, and really, what WOULDN'T Spock be fascinated by. There's the whole occult thing, suddenly waking up in the 1970s. That's all just a very small part of his backstory, that's not even getting into where he's part of the BPRD, too.

I'm sure there would be debates about what's Paranormal Activity or Alien Activity. They met the ghost of, you know, Jack the fucking Ripper, so it's not like they'd dismiss paranormal activity as a Real Thing.

Abe Sapien is also rational, calm, but in touch with his emotions, which make him and Spock a fun dynamic. He's got the telepathy thing going on, but he can also read like, objects, and I wonder if maybe Spock just wouldn't believe him on that part or would be like 👀 show me??

He'd tell Jim about fighting Rasputin and Nazis and he'd tell McCoy about the science behind Johann Krauss's suit.
