Everyone was in the kitchen area, and by everyone I mean everyone who had weirdly appeared in our house over the weekend. (It is now wednesday. These strangers have been here since Saturday. help.) 

Xisuma, these peoples admin (Whatever an “Admin” is.) was leaning against the counter, on some fancy ipad full of numbers. Some zombie lady, a green guy, and some weirdo with broken wings (Cleo, Doc and Scar.) were all sitting on the sofa. And Grian, Sam and .. Pearl? Apparently it's pearl, not that Taurtis can speak, he's only seen photos of Grians sister, but she looks a lot different than in the photos.. Anyway! Those three are in the Kitchen making sandwiches.

I made my way into the kitchen, sitting on the counter near Xisuma.

“Where’s the ham?” Sam asked, looking through the fridge. That reminds me, we really need to go grocery shopping. “Should be behind the eggs.” Grian responded, not looking at Sam as he cut the cucumber, despite Pearl practically begging him to let her do it instead. Sam reached into the back of the fridge, grabbing out a plastic bag with some slightly soggy, maybe mouldy ham. 

“Ew! What is that?” Cleo gagged, looking over the sofa at the monstrosity in Sam’s hand.

“It's ham.. Obviously.” Sam rolled his eyes. 

Bored, I looked over at Xisuma’s ipad thingy. It was full of some fancy letters and characters, some of it was English, the rest some weird language that looked like Japanese but wasn’t. (Oh! I forgot to mention, Literally none of these people spoke Japanese. Not even Pearl. This wasn’t really an issue for Grian, as he's British. But me and Sam? Its torture! 

Secretly, I think grian is also struggling. We never speak English so I think the sudden change in needing to help translate is taking a toll on him. Poor Grian.)

I look back up at Sam, deciding that this guy’s ipad is hurting my brain. Sam, who was glaring at grian impatiently. “Gree-on! Hurry up! I need the people-opener for the Bread!” He whined, before shutting up as Grian handed it over to him.

“Pardon? Did- Did you just call the knife a people-opener?” Pearl stammered, eyes wide.

It took Sam a second to respond, trying to understand what she said. (see what I mean? Language barriers.) Eventually, Grian whispered it to him in Japanese, laughing.

Sam looked up at Pearl, head tilted at the taller girl. “Should I not call it a people-opener?”

Scar -> co-pilot of Grian, has a motored wheelchair, he's the most curious one out of the two. He is the one that tells Grian to do something and join the rebellion.

Doc ->maybe some imperial scientist of some kind???? He scares me.

Scott... You scare me but! Leader potential? Scavenging with Cleo, Scott -> the brain, Cleo -> them muscles, she's a skilled blaster fighter, possibly Mandalorian..? We're there mandalorians of that species....?????Cleo is a Togruta def.

Pearl -> definitely started off as a Padawan, sister of Grian -> = older (aka, yes the gist of "mf is too old to be trained, but his sister ain't, YOINK"), yeah he was not pleased. Pearl basic doesn't remember him, like, she knows she has a brother somewhere, but yk. Yeah so, Master dies, obviously 🙄, cause you know order 66, still debating who that should be... Uhhhhh Maybe Impulse? Yes you're dying boi. Be sad. Someone has to. So yeah, she escapes, and then I'm going to presume she's going in hiding... With another surviving Padawan... Maybe Gem, yeah. Yeah shiny duo why not. So they go into hiding, they survive by themselves, somehow, a bit of thievery never hurt anyone... Oh wait.

Anyway happiness doesn't last.

While Pearl is "busy" turning to the Darkside and Just not having s good time, Gem joins the rebels, not revealing her past, he's lightsaber was broken during her qnd Pearl's escape after all. She does still have her Kyber cristal (green..? They focus more on defending to my knowledge, plus healing? Something like that) Pearl's used to be blue.

So yeah, Gem joins the rebels, where she does missions here and there and meets people like Tango.

Tango -> Pilot, and one of the leaders of a small squad that usually does ambushes to the Empire. (This is due to how fucking mental this guy was with EVERYTHING last season, he deserves to have a leading and planning spot)

Etho is a spy for the rebels. No questions asked. He is. Why? Don't exactly know...? He gives me spy vibes. Mf works for the Empire but is a double agent.

Joel and Lizzie have a bar where they try to keep it neutral, they don't enjoy the empire but don't want to risk loosing what they have to actively fight. They do hide rebels from time to time and share some rations. They know Tango, since he's the one who usually contacts them and also hid there a couple of times. They also know Etho since he goes there whenever he's dispatched to the planet.

Yes. The "Etho stop being obsessed with me" joke lives on.

Now... Owen. You sir. Terrify me. You're very scary as a villain but very adorable as a hero which you know what that means.

Rae -> in this universe Enderian is out of the picture, like not even mentioned, sorry girly.

Rae is the child of Isla, who was the queen of whatever because again, this is just me writing down dumb ideas. So, Rae and Icarus were sent away when he was little by Isla, who wanted to keep him away from the empire's arms due to his connection to the force.

Icarus -> older sibling to Rae, has no connection to the force, (no Quixis, you're not doing shit this time >:(), when them and Rae were sent away, they didn't understand why fully. As he got older they resented Rae because they felt like if Rae didn't have a connection to the force then they'd be able to be a family. But that resentment soon moved to the force itself, the stores about the Jedis, the sith, all that chaos. They don't know exactly how to help Rae, all they can do is try to protect him from the empire. (I'm giving Rae and Icarus a good-ish relationship ok? We all need that)

Momboo and Ocie -> are sisters, both use the force and both were trained by the Jedis, needless to say they are not like 20 yo, I think imma make them around 35/40..? (Safe to say Icarus and Momboo won't have a relationship.No.)

They both survived order 66 but got separated.

Now for the angsty part.

Momboo during her travels tried to find and protect kids gifted with the force. She would then proceed to die, leaving Jamie and Uhh fuck I don't remember their name, well, her other kid ok? With one message, to find Ocie, she could help them.

Ocie did not have as much maternal instincts as her sister, but, she picked along a small child, Oscar, a child made orphan by the empire. I'm figuring out the species still. She would settle down, she thought she was away from everything, that she could heal. Then Momboos kids came, and boom, training arc for those little shits. (/Sarcastic /not mean /please I'm not serious)

Centross -> now, I know in FableSMP he's not on Fable's side but Enderian's, the problem with that is that I think that the only thing that fits Enderian is a Dathomir's witch. And I don't exactly know how that could work. Like sure, let's make her a sith, but she's supposed to be like on Fable's power level, and she's definitely not a Jedi. So. For Centross, he could 100% be an inquisitor. 100% not even questioning it. This is based upon when he was violet reaper, yes yes, I am aware he was not on Fable's side, but I believe Fable is more fit as Palpatine than Enderian, sorry girlboss. Also sorry Centross, you're not getting a redemption arc.

Hey! I uploaded a ton of lots to the gallery today (id: gladlypants) Some were recent builds I was doing while I was waiting for GT, some I just furnished today, some I built last summer before HSY released and forgot about, and then vault Cleo’s grandparents’ house. I had a lot of fun practicing building over the last few weeks!  :) 

It’ll take me a bit to get all of these tray files up, will have to go back and take interior screenshots and all that. There are names of each and short descriptions under the cut, numbered like the screenshots, cuz I just felt like talking about em, and gallery images suck. I’ve playtested most of these at some point, except Charles E. Cheese’s, the shells, and the Batchelder house.

Lmk if you want any of these now for your new pack gameplay and I’ll shoot you a temporary dl.

1. Charles E. Cheese’s - Heavily branded for the feline version of Chuck, Charles! It’s a restaurant and I haven’t playtested it, sorryyyy, but I don’t foresee any issues. There’s a pizza vendor kiosk inside too if you want to change the lot type or have typical Dine Out problems. Intended as a kind of party space for kids. The upstairs feels a little chaotic to me but maybe not idk. ♥

2. Raymond’s Noodles - A little local noodle restaurant I built for a sim named Raymond I was playing in a recent rotation save. It’s small and cute. ♥

3. The Schneider House - a big ol’ traditional style Windenburg house. I was also playing a household on this lot, and I really loved it!

4. Batchelder Craftsman - I love the style of this house. Named for Batchelder tiles, which I am pretending this one has throughout! (reference)

5. Gray 2 Story Craftsman - The household I played the most in my rotation lived in this house and I love the layout, so it’s probably my favorite of the Craftsman shells I built, even if it is a little plain looking on the outside. It has an awesome, huge main bedroom suite! 

6. Green Family Craftsman - f*ck those rooves. This one has a a sunroom and a bedroom for grandparents/stay-overs. (reference)

7. Blue Craftsman - Built this one like a house my sister-in-law lived in here for a long time, it’s a common style and layout in older neighborhoods where I live.

8. Black Victorian Shell - It’s supposed to a small detached row house. I built it with the idea of using it for renting to roommates but you can use it however you like obviously.

9. Cleo’s Grandparents’ House - a desert mcm! Still has the camper in the yard that Cleo + Devon lived in before they got locked in the vault.

10. Single Mom House - I built this for one of my gallery households, who is a single mother and teenage daughter. It’s a little shabby, with some craftsman features and some Hispanic decor for them.

11. The LaFollette House - also built for one of my gallery families, a single military dad and his two daughters. I intended this one to be the same as the Single Mom house, but remodeled to be more modern and spacious.

12. The Gilbert House - for a gallery household, it’s a little retro inside!

13. Split Level Family Home - also for a gallery household, this one has very feminine style decor, except for one of the bedrooms for a teen, and a huge unfinished basement (just walls.) 

^^ Also this “Colorful Craftsman Shell” that I forgot about and don’t think I’ll get around to furnishing/finishing it anytime soon. It has a bonus attic room. You’ll need to move the back door, place it on a bigger lot, or lower the foundation because I didn’t leave space for steps there. 

And a big modern “apartment building” with one furnished unit and a gym and indoor pool downstairs, which is kind of unfinished but idk if I’ll get back to it.

HELLO TODAY I BRINGGG the eggies playing with monster high dolls :D I plan to make another one with empanada and sunny too

Leo's fav is Lagoona bc.. Lagoona is my fav so obviously I had to give her to Leo, but I think it fits perfectly, I can't quite explain it, it's just the vibes.

For Tallulah I chose Frankie bc.. She just looks like a Frankie liker ok, IT FITS, now that I think of it, Venus could have been a rlly good option too but I forgot about her, she's one of my favs I'm so dumb.

And for Pomme, I kinda struggled bc I mostly watch Foolish and Roier's pov so I don't see her often (sad, i love her) BUT I thought of Robecca, another one of my favs, since Robecca is literally steampunk personified, thought it would fit Pomme bc she'd remind her of her dad, qPierre :D i saw a clip compilation of those two and they're so cute. I could have gone with Rochelle since she's french but that would have been too easy, still, i think Pomme loves her.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, Sunny would so be a Cleo and Clawdeen liker, she'd make her dad buy all of their dolls, and Empanada is 100% a Draculaura enthusiast.

And as a bonus, Richas and Pepito like playing with their sisters, Pepito takes care of the dolls with his LIFE, he just poses them very carefully and brushes their hair softly bc he doesn't wanna break his sister's dolls, on the other side, Richas makes the dolls wrestle, loses their accessories and sometimes breaks them on accident bc they wrestled too hard.

Sometimes Sunny and Em force Ramón to play with them too when they're on sleepovers, he acts like he hates it but internally, he loves playing with his sisters. Eventually he'll accept it and be happy to play with them whenever, probably also making them dolls wrestle against Richas'.

while the world ended she was at work all day, while kevin was at home with her husband. she never fully found out what happened to them; all she has is that, by the time she got home, the house was trashed and there was blood all over her floor and her walls. she tries her best not to think about this at all

she and dina’s older sister talia are best friends. after talia is killed, maria pledges to herself that she’ll watch out for dina as much as she possibly can, and she basically ends up being dina’s #1 supporter during the pregnancy and first year with JJ. she and dina trade stories about talia and promise to make sure JJ knows how amazing his auntie tal was

sometimes JJ reminds maria so much of kevin that she has to step out of the room

maria has a secret stash of weed that her and talia kept in a jar under a loose floorboard in her house. she rolls joints with rose petals 🌹

maria is lowkey extremely scared of horses, but she doesn’t tell anyone for the sake of keeping up her reputation. one day when she and tommy are cleaning out the stables, a snake startles one of the horses so bad it bucks and kicks over a metal barrel. maria jumps so high and screams so loud it startles tommy, too, and suddenly he and her and this fucking horse are all needing to take a deep goddamn breath together. when she finally admits it, he’s like: ??????? ive seen u ride and get on a horse like you were born on a farm????? what?????

still, from then on, tommy is almost always at maria’s side when she has to mount and dismount her horse. because he talked to a few certain people about a few certain things, she pretty much exclusively rides this calm, beautiful blonde thoroughbred named cleo

maria first recognizes joel in ep 1x06 by his accent and the cadence of his voice. it’s so close to tommy that it immediately throws her, and when he says he’s looking for his brother, well—she obviously needs to know his mf name right away

maria needs to move closer to joel on her horse in that scene because she is severely nearsighted. homegirl needs glasses BAD. she can’t see for shit

tommy searches for glasses for her on every patrol. it is his ultimate life’s goal to find his wife some mf corrective lenses

it takes maria three weeks to convince tommy she is okay to go out on patrols while pregnant. it’s not like he’s being controlling or anything, but her pregnancy is very triggering for him anxiety- and nightmare-wise, and she wants to wait until both of them are comfortable with the decision before she takes any risks. they both settle on the compromise that it feels safe enough for her to go out on patrols with larger groups, as long as they stick to areas that have already been cleared of infected and are accompanied by the dogs

maria is a cat person. she would take care of her neighborhood strays as a kid. by year 10 in jackson, there is a thriving colony of strays that basically live out of her and tommy’s tool-turned-cat-shed at the back of their house

along with tommy, the entirety of the jackson community is invested in making sure maria has a safe and peaceful pregnancy. people start going to tommy and joel with problems that used to come to her, and part of it really annoys her because she knows she’s just as capable as she’s always been. still, a larger deeper part of her is deathly terrified to have this baby, so she ultimately appreciates the extra help and rest

she doesn’t ever tell joel or ellie, but she has a Very Emotional Pregnancy-Brain Breakdown because she’s anxious that ellie will never like her and joel will never like her and then tommy will leave and she’ll be alone with a baby she id scared to have and then the baby will never like her, either. it takes tommy an hour to calm her down—by the end of it, he’s crying a little bit too. he hugs her and kisses her and promises that he’ll never, ever leave—that’s it’s in his dna, his blood, to love her, just as much as it’s in his blood to be joel’s brother—and that he’ll spend his life at her and their child’s side. she believes him

when he does leave in tlou 2, she goes into their bedroom and trashes it completely—rips all the clothes out the closet, pulls down the dressers and shelves, throws his stupid fucking knick-knacks at the walls until they break, strips their bed her bed and rips the sheets. she locks herself in her home and doesn’t speak to anyone for two days; it’s the longest in jackson history that maria goes without working, aside from the week baby miller was born. the members of jackson make sure to leave her alone

when tommy gets back, she continues to refuse to speak to him while simultaneously sitting at his beside in the infirmary for a week straight

seth and maria have had beef that literally stems from the very start of establishing jackson. he’s just a fucking ass. FUCK seth like i will make a whole post about her beef with seth

maria and joel have mutual hate for seth. we’ve discussed this already over here lmfao, they get together and drink and talk shit about him at least twice a week while tommy and ellie have mischief time

sometimes maria and ellie will hear joel or tommy say some southernism that’s so unfamiliar and twangy to them it’s ridiculous, and together they instantly break out into hyper-exaggerated accents to mock them. the miller boys rolls their eyes but they obviously find it to be pretty adorable and hilarious

maria and ellie are not allowed to be on the same team for board game night anymore because they win everything and it is no fun for tommy >:(

tommy does metalsmithing and makes trinkets and jewelry with charms for maria whenever she gets the chance. the first time he makes a loc charm for her, she cries

she visits jackson’s preschool sometimes and it’s so fun because all the jackson littles absolutely LOVE her. at first they think she’s kinda scary because she’s the Serious Boss Lady everybody and their families talk to upon first entering jackson, but one day at the beginning of the schoolyear she comes in and shows the preschoolers that she can do a cartwheel—from then on they’re all absolutely obsessed

Long ago, the fae courts thrived under the roofed forest. They imbued it with their own magic to make it more hospitable to their kind, filling the woods with a whimsical feeling.

But... the magic took on a life of its own. It twisted, and grew in power until it was too much even for the fae. It seeped into the trees themselves, into the creatures that lived there, turning them into monsters hardly recognizable to the animals they once were.

The fae, no longer able to control the magic, fled the woods to find a new play to stay. All... except for one. A relatively unremarkable, low ranking gentry, by the title of the Lady of Shadows.

She refused to abandon her home, and in time, the magic infiltrated her as well. It sunk into her soul, darkening it, warping it, making her truly... monstrous, until she could barely even be considered fae.

Though her appearance remained relatively unchanged, it was no longer her true form. Rather, her true form was writhing mass of shadows, an infinite void that when stared into, stared back. Gazing upon it for more than a few seconds was enough to drive any mortal, human, fae, or otherwise, to madness.

Centuries went by. The Fae eventually forgot about her as the monarchy changed hands, courts rose and fell, and titles got swapped around. and yet she didn't age a day. The Lady of Shadows became a Queen, and then an Empress.

It was only the curiosity of a young fae that discovered her, deep within the forest which had long since lost the joyous feeling it was once associated with, that they realized she was still alive. Still there. Still, against all odds, sane.

So yeah. Here are the characters:

Obviously Lizzie is the lady of shadows. She's not fae, although she used to be, and is pretty much omniscient within the bounds of her forest. However, her life is directly tied to the forest, so the further she is from it, the less powerful she gets.

Cleo is a gorgon who Lizzie found on the verge of death and brought back to life. She was able to save her mind, but... not her body, and as a result regularly falls apart and needs magic (and a needle and thread) to hold it all together. It's become something of a running joke between her and Lizzie.

BigB is Cleo's emotional support human. She met him shortly after she was turned into a zombie and he was the first person she didn't turn to stone upon looking at her, which led her to the realization that only living gorgons had that ability. Her snakes liked him so she just... took him home with her. Is it kidnapping? Maybe. Did BigB mind? Not really.

Ren is a werewolf who'd been held prisoner by hunters since he was a child, and used to hunt down other mythical creatures. He was rescued by Lizzie when the hunters made the mistake of coming after her, and he's now incredibly loyal and faithful to her, having not fully shaken the mentality instilled in him by the hunters, who treated him like an animal rather than a person.

Jimmy is a human who was cursed by a fae as a baby, so that all who loved him would die by his hand. As a result, Jimmy's parents, grandparents, and his best friend Tango all died under circumstances that were, directly or indirectly, his fault. For example, Tango fell out of a tree and snapped his neck while trying to get a ball that Jimmy had gotten stuck in the branches. Lizzie adopted him on sight after he handed his Name over to her without hesitation, believing himself to be a monster who deserved whatever fate she had in store for him (cuddles and a new older sister).

And SPEAKING of Tango. Yeah he's a fire spirit now. He really misses Jimmy, but has stayed away, mostly because he knows Jimmy probably feels bad about his death and doesn't want to make that worse. He only has a physical form within the Nether and spaces that have a lot of magic. So fairy circles, enchanted woods, all that. Outside of that, he's just kind of a floating ball of fire, like a little will o' the wisp. He's actually the one who led Jimmy to Lizzie in the first place when he entered her forest.

Joel is Lizzie's wizard husband. He's an eccentric.... theoretically human man. At least, he swears up and down that he's human, and for all intents and purposes, he does seem to be. Aside from basic magic, he doesn't really have any particularly defining characteristics to mark him as a mythical creature. But he also... has not aged. In like. 300 years. So... no one really knows what's going on with him and at this point they're too afraid to ask.

Katherine is the queen of the Spring fae, one of the four courts, each corresponding to the season. She and Lizzie are good friends, since both of them are very sweet in appearance, but absolutely terrifying to anyone who knows anything about them. Katherine is usually the one hosting events between the four courts, and invites Lizzie regularly, who brings the whole entourage.

Xornoth is the king of the Winter court, which makes Scott the prince. He's down bad for Jimmy, just... an absolute mess. He tries his best to be calm and collected around him (to impress him), but the second he gets home, Xornoth gets an earful about all the cute things Lizzie's little mortal brother did. He doesn't really understand how human courtship works, but he's trying his best.

Shrub is the queen of the Summer court. She's also extremely down bad for Katherine. Just... prebby buff woman... and that's pretty much all I've got for her so far. She's a wolf, obviously, so she and Ren get along pretty well because of that.

Gem and Fwhip are the twin rulers of the Autumn Court. They're pretty reclusive and don't tend to show up at most events unless they're hosted by the rulers of the other courts themselves, so there's a lot of mystery and intrigue surrounding them. Gem has deer features and Fwhip is like... half gargoyle.

Sausage is another human who's just... chilling with Gem and Fwhip. He mostly lives in a human village but occasionally will just get kidnapped if one of the twins is feeling bored and taken to fairyland for like three months. He gets dragged along to a lot of formal events. And because of this, he's definitely started developing a not so insignificant crush on the only other human at these gatherings, who constantly has a fire demon and the prince of winter attached to his hip, taking turns dancing with him.

Yes I am giving Jimmy three boyfriends in this AU. I debated with adding Fwhip to the mix but decided it doesn't really make sense for this particular scenario. Honestly might change that later though.

Pirates Time

So the other day I posted that concept right. The pirate one. That one. I don’t really have any ideas but it’s very Dead Man’s Chest inspired.

The Desert Scourge - A ship captained by the undead pirate Scar Goodtimes, cursed to roam the seas eternally for his duplicitous nature and shifting allegiances. Anyone who stays on the ship for too long ends up cursed to stay as well, and the only way to break the curse is to kill Scar.

Scar: Scar Goodtimes, known for being a tricky bastard and captain of the Desert Scourge. Was originally a merchant that scammed a few too many pirates and one particularly notable witch. He was cursed to run his own ship, perpetually unbound by the land to the point where if he sets foot on it, he dies.

Grian: Grian Dreamslayer, quartermaster of the Desert Scourge. When Scar was cursed, Grian went with him, dragging some others along so that Scar didn’t end up drifting along with no crew.

Jimmy: Jimmy Solidarity, the main member of the crew that can go ashore. He’s been on board for the shortest amount of time and hasn’t changed in the ways the other crew members have. There may be a reason for that…

Scott: Scott Major has an undefined role on the ship, but he spends a lot of time in the cells below deck when not spending his time with Jimmy. He also may or may not have previously held a high ranking Navy position before Jimmy dragged him on board a pirate ship.

Joel: Joel Smallbeans, the ship’s bosun. He’s always where you least expect him and he thought the idea of immortality was pretty cool. When he’s not doing his job he’s usually bothering Grian or Jimmy, or looking over the railing for something…

Cleo: Cleo Z., the enigmatic helmsperson of the Desert Scourge. She’s the most obviously undead, and she’s very clear that it happened before she boarded. They mostly enjoy not being alone forever. When not steering, they hang out belowdecks with Scott.

Pearl: Pearl Moonstone, the stowaway. Nobody can get rid of her, and she’s always around. She mostly hides in the crow’s nest but will come out if you bribe her with stories and friendship offerings. She’s very resourceful.

BigB: Just called B., he manages the crew’s cannons and weaponry. He individually keeps inventory of their gunpowder and also knows which barrels he’s stashed his food in instead. Despite his job, he’s reluctant to hurt anyone, and he doesn’t enjoy the violence that comes with the ship, but he can defend himself very well.

The Scarlet Buccaneers - An oddly named merchant ship. Captained by Ren Doggman, the ship sells all sorts of oddities and information at any price. The ship filled one of the holes The Desert Scourge had left when it was no longer able to go ashore, and a lot of people needed resources that the ship had provided.

Ren: Ren Doggman, captain of the Scarlet Buccaneers and trader of goods, services, and information. He stays close to the coast and if something needs investigating, he sends Martyn, his hand.

Martyn: Martyn Littlewood, a thief of goods, services, and information. Occasionally people, but he’s not really in that business anymore. Ren is one of his closest friends and he trusts him. His latest assignment is to gather intel on the Navy’s movements, but he got picked up by the Desert Scourge during a storm.

Bdubs and Impulse: B.W. and I.S.V. are both Ren’s agents and they usually go inland to gather information. They’re often the most up to date on the state of kingdoms.

Etho: Etho is a man on a raft in the ocean. Nobody knows anything else about him.

Lizzie: Jimmy’s enigmatic sister. He speaks of her fondly, but none of the crew have truly met her.

Gem: Gemini Tay, the witch that cursed Scar. She refuses to undo the curse without good reason.

Oli: Oli Sound, a travelling bard. Hoid Cosmere energy. He shows up wherever and whenever he pleases and he can also fly. Grian swats at him with brooms when he flies by.

Pixl: Pix Rift, keeper of the Cursed Trove. People try to steal cursed shit all the time. Pix kicks them out for trying. Scar makes regular trips there at Grian’s insistence to appraise anything that might be cursed.

warrior cats life series au - skyblings

quick disclaimer - any of the parents of the skyblings aren't really being shipped i just think they would be really cool parents together. just adopt or steal a child and raise them as a family unit. nice.

also there's a tldr for each character because i have a lot to say.

okay, first is our favorite silly gal, pearl-

pearl's current name in the au is ravenmoon (воронья луна) due to her having a bird-shaped spot on her face at birth, which later covered more of her body as she aged.

raven/pearl is the child of the in-universe etho (currently named spiderweb but that's subject to change). etho and pearl's second parent were part of a group of cats living in the city, which split and moved to various locations after a disaster. etho learned about a clan of cats living in the forest and wanted to join, but his friend didn't share etho's interest so the latter went alone. he joined the clan but frequently made trips to visit his friend, ultimately coming back with a single kitten (pearl).

pearl/ravenpaw grew up in the clan, being a very successful apprentice. she didn't spend a lot of time with her father or her adopted family/friends (cleo&bdubs), instead inserting herself into her mentor's, impulse's, family and being pretty much adopted by his family once clethdubs group had jimmy and grian.

pearl finished her apprenticeship a moon earlier than expected and went on to become one of the most notable warriors the clan had. however, due to her constant arguments with cleo/burningstar and etho who became the clan's deputy, pearl exiled herself and travelled to the city, in an attempt to find her family. [some stuff happens after this, but i'll probably talk more about it if i continue working on the au :)]

tldr pearl is etho's kid that joins the clan as a newborn and grows up to be a very good warrior. however, due to constant conflicts with cleo (clan leader) and ehto (deputy), she exiles herself to look for her other family members. next up, grian!

in this au, grian is named pigeonpaw (голуболап), [getting the name pigeonsight (голубиный взор) in the future].

grian was born to clethdubs along with his brother jimmy. despite being fairly small, he was the healthier one of the litter, always active and interested in the clan's activity (which greatly annoyed anyone within his vicinity).

growing up, pigeonkit looked up to ravenpaw, who was praised by everyone in the clan for her abilities. however, because pearl didn't share his excitement, he barely got to spend any time with her. due to his siblings' absence, pigeonkit was forced to entertain himself, which led to his curious nature.

during his ceremony, pigeonkit was hoping to be given pearl as his mentor, since the latter had just graduated apprenticeship a moon ago and was the youngest and most available warrior in the clan at the moment, yet his wish didn't come true. it is rumored that ravenmoon flat out refuse to mentor him when that was suggested by burningstar.

grian was in his second moon of apprenticeship when, after a lot of yelling and fighting, his older sister left the clan. heartbroken, pigeonpaw turned to his brother for support and helped him get used to apprenticeship. [again, i have more ideas for grian's character, but they are quite ambitious].

tldr grian is a clethdubs kid who is very active and always getting into trouble. he looked up to pearl a lot and was heartbroken when she left the clan.

the last poor soul is jimmy ->

his name is (obviously) canarypaw (канареечка) [his name will likely be canaryheart (канарейкино сердце) or canaryfall (канарейкино падение? павшая канарейка??) when he's older).

jimmy was born alongside grian to clethdubs. though he was a larger kitten, he was slow to open his eyes or start walking. at a couple moons old, he got extremely sick and had to spend a long time in the medicine den. as soon as he got out, however, he was seemingly cursed with bad luck: always getting in trouble together with his bother, but always being the one most hurt from doing so.

after the young kitten's fur was covered with scars and cuts at the ripe old age of four moons, burningstar decided it was best for him to be mostly confined to the clan's camp for his safety. canarykit was expected to become a medicine cat apprentice, yet he argued his way to becoming a warrior apprentice just like his brother.

for his safety, however, burningstar ordered him to take an extra moon of kittenhood so that he could properly recover from his wounds and begin apprenticeship at 7 moons old. despite being jealous of pigeonpaw, canarykit obeyed and didn't leave camp without permission for the whole moon.

canarypaw wasn't too upset when pearl left the clan, as he was never too close with her, or anyone outside of his parents and brother.

tldr jimmy is a very sick child with bad luck, who is forced to wait until 7 moons to become an apprentice due to his poor health (and luck).

So weird AU idea I got that literally came to me in a Dream.

Sofia the first My Hero Academia AU. Though after I continued to come up with ideas it began to turn into a Tangled the series MHA AU as well

So the premise is Sofia is in a way the Midoriya of this story she is born quirkless. Before the series starts her mother marries Roland the Second who is the Owner of the most successful support item industry, and as well as a pro hero (quirk- steel like TetsuTetsu) though he’s mostly retired from hero work to focus on his kids. Her two step siblings are James whose quirk is steel which he inherited from his father and Amber whose quirk is jewel shields (like Rarity in EQG). Amber inherited her quirk from their mother who died in a fight against a villain when they were very young. James is pretty nice to Sofia off of the bat but Amber is a bit quirkest and is mean to Sofia (similar to her being mean to Sofia when they first meet in the original series, and her reasons for being mean to her in the original series still stand, she doesn’t like what seems like an intrusion on their family.)

She is a big Fan of the Pro-Hero Cinder, who is actually in a way this stories version of All Might. Cinder (Cinderella) was born with a simple spark quirk which was relatively useless but combined with another vestiges power of energy she was able to make flames. (I know with recent reveals about OFA her having a quirk would be slightly problematic but this is an au and it makes sense for the backstory I have in my head)

The other Vestiges with their quirks are (in no particular order):

Snow White - Snow powers

Aurora- Anivoice

Jasmine - Size changing

Obviously with the different powers the plot will take some different turns. But I wanted to give Sofia powers that she uses in the show instead of just making her a gender bent Deku of sorts.

Now for our UA staff. I kind of want Cedric to be our Version of Aizawa, first of all because I adore him but also because he has that disgruntled vibe where he pretends he hates kids but is willing to die for them. The quirk I’m going to give for him is called the Wild Card. I came up with the idea for it based off of the fact that his spells often don’t go to as planned. It means that he has a wide variety of powers which are activated through card tricks. When he was younger he struggled with control and things blew up his face (often literally) he had to learn what certain combinations and types of cards meant and would produce.

Merida is a pro hero and her quirk is Predator Vision (a real MHA quirk that) because I wanted her to have a cool quirk that would assist her but I still wanted her bow skills to be her own (though I did for a bit consider making her like Lady Nagant). I love Merida so I had to include her and she just didn’t fit as a vestige so a pro hero it was. Sofia interns under her.

Princess Ivy is our version of Shiggy. Her black and white dragonflies which she produces are able to consume anything (instead of erasing memory like they did in STF) similar to how Shiggy can decay stuff.

Vor is All for One. She has the same powers and everything. I’m tempted to make her related to Elena somehow because I kind of like that aspect of the AFO/OFA struggle. It’s my au I could do whatever I wanted I could make them sisters if I desired and I am kind of tempted to.

Rapunzel’s backstory is that she has been held by Mother Gothel who is part of a mafia (Zhan Tiri). She has the similar powers to what she has in the show/movie her hair glows and reverses damage. She is sort of this story’s Eri. Mother Gothel can produce black or blue rocks that are unbreakable, as can her daughter Cassandra.

Cassandra was adopted by a policeman after a raid on a quirk trafficking ring by some hero’s. She resents her mother because she abandoned her. When her quirk came in her father was surprised to realize that she was Mother Gothel’s daughter but loved her nonetheless. The same could not be said for the others around her most people her age started ignoring her or antagonizing her from that point on. She decided she wanted to follow in her fathers footsteps and help people so she enrolls in the hero course. Eventually her and Sofia are part of the mission later to save Rapunzel

(This has been in my drafts since my Sofia the First hyperfixation. I wanted to make it more fleshed out and I kind of have but I’ve decided just to post it as is. If anyone is interested I can elaborate on parts of it but right now this is it. Also though I doubt anyone would anyone can use any concepts I present here as long as I get credit.)

H20 Just Add Water/Mako Mermaids sorta part 1

Only saw a smidge of Mako Mermaids aka the Rikki makes a five minute cameo episodes. Spoilers abound! Also there is no organization in this review, it jumps everywhere

Not sure what to make of Mako Mermaids because it kinda contradicts the previous show. Also only saw the two episodes where RIkki appeared, how does she have what looks like Cleo’s power? Also how did Zac move a coin without it being wet? Maybe the show explains, but they don’t say anything about how mermaids existed for years without the pod knowing unless they just didn’t care because ‘land people r dangerous’.

The ‘original three’ don’t make sense with MM either, Miss Chatham disappeared after season 1 because maybe she was going senile. She once said her friends were ‘gone’ then was given Julia’s necklace and was devastated...didn’t you already know she was dead? Or maybe it was just the thing that made it finite. Wish there was a story about them. They probably could have hired the actresses back or even new ones that kinda looked like them.

Does Charlotte deserve the necklace? Kinda because it’s her family’s treasure, but she went crazy and was kinda already possessive of Lewis. Then again, Gracie didn’t even want the thing and tossed it away so Charlotte could have found some other heirloom of her grandmother’s. Emma or no Emma? Bella kinda seemed like a copy of season 1 Cleo but slightly more outgoing. Would she like Emma? I think they’d be friends once they got to know each other. But then the importance of the necklaces are tossed aside.  If they were going to throw away the storyline of the ‘original three’ then why not send Charlotte on her way with the necklace? Where did she even go? Did she just tell her mom she didn’t want to live there or did she go live with her dad (assuming they’re divorced and he’s alive)? Vaguely at the end of season 2 she either implies she’s moving or she’s just going to avoid them. Lewis wasn’t upset enough at all the things she pulled. That’s a moment where Lewis should’ve been pissed, not a fake ‘I hate this kind of smoothie’ to get Rikki off his back and annoy Cleo less.

I don’t like Kim or Don’s attitude when it comes to his kids. Kim is literally a demon child and has been since the beginning. He says in season 2 ‘I liked it better when your mom handled these things’ but she didn’t do anything about the fights either. They hear the argument over the MP3 player and just leave instead of trying to sort it out or telling Kim to take the gift.

Why doesn’t Rikki tell her dad? It’s literally just the two of them and he obviously cares about her so telling him would make it easier on her. How does she do chores at home? She can’t heat clean dishes. Also, how did she get clothes on a clothesline if they’re wet? Does her dad have to hang up everything for her? That’s got to be embarrassing if you can’t explain why you can’t hang up your own underwear. I think he’d understand and she doesn’t seem like the type to be scared of what he thinks.

Elliot knows. He has to even if he doesn’t explicitly state it. There’s no way he saw his teammate slip on ice and didn’t think ‘probably Emma because she once gave me an icy shower’. At one point he probably thought they were scared something would happen if anyone found out so he kept quiet. He’s not a genius but he’s not an idiot either. He wasn’t five when he suspected it, he was eleven and an eleven year old isn’t likely to just drop it and accept his sister is just ‘different now’ without explanation. 

Kim is kinda dumb because she was told the tail was Cleo’s first attempt at a costume after accidentally getting splashed. Why would the immediate reaction to getting wet be ‘oh better go try my costume’? The fact that Cleo can make water do what she wants is a perfect opportunity to use them to wash dishes. Or get rubber gloves like when she used to feed the dolphins and scrub and put in a dishwasher that most likely exists. She lives in a nice house, she most likely has a dishwasher where Rikki might not have one.

Emma’s family is pretty well off because they live in a nice big house by the beach and she can hire cleaning and food services whenever she wants. Maybe they’re not as rich as Zane, but they’re still pretty wealthy. Also Harrison probably has a soft spot for Lisa and her family because she literally saved his life as a kid. How did Lisa Gilbert just not notice her daughter wasn’t friendly with Zane or Miriam? Where did Byron go? Were he and Emma officially together or still flirting when he vanished?

Watched a YouTuber who made a valid point that they leave doors open a lot. Mainly Emma’s. It doesn’t even have to be a full moon, they just leave doors open to a big house that probably has some very valuable stuff in it. It’s like the Full House vibes, you leave the door open/unlocked, how have you not all been murdered in your beds? (Rocki was ignored for a similar  statement in Fuller house but she’s right) Full/Fuller House is worse because the kids at the beginning are so young, literally less than a year old, five ish, and 10-12. I can see Emma and Elliot putting up a fight, but not the Full House kids except maybe for young DJ, Jackson, and Ramona. FH is another discussion though, back to mermaids.

Ash also disappeared and his reaction seemed weird. Everyone was at least stunned when they discovered it but he seemed nonchalant as if he knew the entire time which he didn’t. ’Forget it’ in an Australian accent is stuck in my head because everyone, mainly Emma, says it so often it hurts.

Say Tywin and Joanna had a daughter before Cersei and Jaime and Tywin focuses on that daughter becoming queen instead and she's the one who ends up married to Robert, who would Cersei marry in this scenario and how would she turn out with an older sister who becomes queen?

Unfortunately, I’m pretty rubbish with these Very Specific What-If questions. 

The mere existence of an older sister would already have profound effects on how Cersei herself develops as a person, her relationship with Jaime, with her father, with her treatment as a girl (compared to Jaime)... everything. 

She might be a very different person, for better or worse. A lot would depend on the character of this sister, and her own relationship with Tywin and her role as a Lannister daughter. It’s almost impossible to speculate, really. 

Assuming, somehow everything plot-relevant still goes down the same way during the Rebellion, Cersei would marry whoever Tywin considered expedient for House Lannister at the time. 

(Mostly just me looking at what Tywin’s been up to on that front in general.)

Here’s what he claims to have considered in the past for Jaime and Tyrion:

"I once hoped to marry your brother to Lysa Tully, but Aerys named Jaime to his Kingsguard before the arrangements were complete. When I suggested to Lord Hoster that Lysa might be wed to you instead, he replied that he wanted a whole man for his daughter."

So he wed her to Jon Arryn, who was old enough to be her grandfather. Tyrion was more inclined to be thankful than angry, considering what Lysa Arryn had become.

"When I offered you to Dorne I was told that the suggestion was an insult," Lord Tywin continued. "In later years I had similar answers from Yohn Royce and Leyton Hightower. I finally stooped so low as to suggest you might take the Florent girl Robert deflowered in his brother's wedding bed, but her father preferred to give her to one of his own household knights. (ASOS, Tyrion III)

We can’t know how honest Tywin is about any of this, because the offer toward Dorne was obviously meant as an insult he expected to be rejected, since they had come expecting Jaime the heir. The Tully match was very much serious, so he had intentions toward the Riverlands, and if the others are true, toward the Vale and the Reach as well. (Though I don’t buy the Florent girl story. Tywin would NEVER take that risk if there was still any chance Tyrion might inherit the Rock against Tywin’s will.)

Cersei is a touch older than Edmure Tully and Willas Tyrell but as sister to the queen and daughter to Tywin Lannister she would have been a highly desirable match for literally any House. What matters most, of course, is what would be useful to Tywin.

Looking at the Lannister matches that Tywin likely had a say in: 

We have his brothers Tygett and Kevan who both married within the Westerlands (Marbrand and Swyft). 

We have his Lannister nephews Lancel and Tyrek who both squired for Robert and married to gain control over other castles (Hayford in the crownlands and Darry at the Riverlands Crossroads), plus Willem and Martyn who were a squires presumably in the Westerlands, since both fought in Jaime’s army. (No information on plans for daughter Janei.)

We have Genna’s Frey-born sons who married Riverlanders (Darry) and westerlanders (Crakehall) respectively, or squired in the Westerlands. Tywin’s goal for Genna’s grandchildren by Jeyne Darry and her son Cleos also tie them to the Riverlands (inheriting Riverrun from Emmon Frey) and the westerlands (squiring at Ashemark).

Basically, Tywin was primarily shoring up a secure base in the Westerlands where he destroyed two enemy Houses and then built ties to the others through marriages or sending squires. 

His doesn’t do much to exploit the ties Tytos built to the Riverlands through Genna, and mostly focuses specifically on Lannister descendents taking over the rulership of other castles (Hayford and Darry and Riverrun and arguably Winterfell) when the opportunity presents itself. It doesn’t always work out but that’s the tendency.

Which... doesn’t really help us with “What if”-Cersei, but helps suggest that he may have most strongly pushed for Edmure Tully or Willas Tyrell, who are both heirs to their Great Houses, placing Cersei’s kids in prime positions of influence over entire regions bordering the Westerlands. Andar Royce could have been an option, but perhaps more likely Baelor Hightower, son and heir to Leyton, depending on if he was still available at the time or already married.

Susan and Mary both are quick to see that Cleo is not someone anyone would be safe around, and try to keep themselves, Johnny and Dukey as far away from her as possible. Due to Candice's close connection with Cleo, they also obviously don't trust her, but they think it's a situation where Cleo is manipulating Candice into being around her at first (before it's revealed that if anything, it's the other way around).

Dukey is low-key scared of Cleo due to her brash and quick-tempered attitude so he stays clear from her, but is unexplainably even more terrified of Candice and tries not to go anywhere near her. (It's later revealed that Dukey practically has a sixth sense for manipulative people, so even if his first interaction with Candice wasn't exactly strange or out of the ordinary, he immediately knew that something was off with her.) He does try to make sure that Johnny doesn't interact with them too often, especially alone, but he ultimately doesn't prevent him from doing so if he insists on it.

Johnny, before finding out their plan on taking over the world, finds an odd comfort in them since they were the only other vampires around and them looking alot like his sisters. He's very weary of Cleo, and never interacts with her in a one to one situation. On the other hand, he quickly gets attached to Candice due to her calm and motherly nature and would always cling to her every chance he got. That's because ever since he got turned, he felt like he couldn't voice his frustratings and fears about his vampirism with anyone, especially Lila, who he always looked to whenever he was upset for comfort. With Candice acting motherly and understanding towards him, he felt like a recently made hole had been filled.

Cleo views the twins and Dukey as obstacles in the plan, and views Johnny as a pawn in it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Candice views the twins and Dukey as something that needs to be "removed from the equation", yet she views Johnny as her own little brother, or even as a son at times.

    Etho awoke to the fresh wafting scent of coffee and pancakes downstairs. Begrudgingly, he slipped out of bed and found a clean outfit to throw on before making the trek down the stairs to the kitchen.

    Bdubs had woke up at sunrise, as usual, being the sleep king he is. Though, this time he did not have the greatest of sleeps. Today he woke up feeling different, knowing right away why he was feeling different. He was once again in heat. It’s not something new, he has dealt with this plenty of times, Etho always being more than willing to help him as well. But this heat was different too. 

    Bdubs had hurriedly climbed out of bed and tossed on some clean clothes before making his way down to the kitchen. He busied himself with making some fresh coffee for himself and some pancakes for himself and the sleepy head upstairs. He was trying to keep himself from dwelling on the thoughts he was

 having. Thoughts of a family, of children, of him and Etho with little kids of their own. It’s not like Bdubs did not like this picture in his head, it’s more that he was worried that he could not have that as a reality. He was worried that if he brought it up to Etho that Etho would not share his wish for a family. So Bdubs worked away on the breakfast and got some tea going as he heard the racket upstairs that was his sweetheart finally getting out of bed.

    By the time Etho sleepily stumbled into the kitchen, Bdubs had plated all the pancakes and had their respective cups of coffee and tea all ready. Etho took his usual place seated at the kitchen island to slowly enjoy his breakfast while he listened to Bdubs babble on about his plans for the day. 

    Bdubs was cheerily going on about all the things he planned to do for the day while he finished his own breakfast. “...then I will go bug Cleo…Ren wants to meet up at the crasle for something…have work to do at the coffee shop…”

    While Bdubs was going on and on about his plans, the only thing Etho found himself really paying attention to was how pretty Bdubs looked when talking nonstop about his plans. He was so caught up in Bdubs beauty that he completely missed Bdubs asking if they could have a baby together.

    When Etho did not reply or even react right away, Bdubs became even more worried about what Etho would say. He made a hasty exit by quickly saying goodbye to his partner and rushed out the door.

    Etho had kissed his love goodbye and watched him flee out the door before being left in the quiet of the monolith. He slowly finished up his tea and pancakes when his few brain cells started to process the last thing Bdubs had said before fleeing his own home. “...did Bdubs ask me for a kid..?” He sat still for a moment as he allowed himself to properly process his realization.

    Smiling to himself, he started to picture what their little family would look like. They would obviously have more than one kid, and he knew Gem would hang around all the time to get a chance to play with the kids. He pictured going on family outings together, himself and Bdubs jokingly teasing each other, a chorus of soft laughter following each word. He pictured lots of busy mornings, with the kids taking more after Bdubs with how they are in the morning than him. He pictured loving bedtimes, when the kids are finally asleep in their beds, their loving parents watching them sleep peacefully. Etho sat there picturing more and more loving moments that only made him long for those moments to be a reality.

    Etho quickly shot up from his spot in the kitchen, grabbed his mask and rushed out of the monolith to find Bdubs. He spammed his rockets as he willed himself to move faster. Etho was heading towards the crasle, remembering that Bdubs had mentioned going there to see Ren.

    While searching the crasle, he did not find neither Ren nor Bdubs. He did, however, find his younger sister snooping about on the balcony. He had fully intended on just ignoring her and continuing the search for Bdubs, but Gem had stopped him. 

    “Hello, Etho, did you hear me?” Gem must have been trying to talk to him but he completely missed what she had said in his frantic state. “I asked you why you were in such a rush, silly.”

    Etho had to force himself to stay put and not just push past Gem to keep looking for Bdubs. He figured that a quick conversation with his sister would not be the worst and then he could continue to look for his partner. “Bdubs left in a big hurry this morning. I just want to find him because there’s something I really want to talk to him about.” The sentence came out more rushed than Etho had intended it to as he was trying to look out over the balcony to see the shopping district.

    Gem knew Etho quite a bit better than lots of the people on the server, and knew right away when he flew into the crasle that he was in a bit of a frantic panic. “Ethoooo, you did not do something to chase Bdubs away did you? You two were so cute together!” Gem’s teasing in her sing-songy voice usually worked at getting a chuckle out of her brother and helping him relax a bit. This time, it did not.

    “I do not know if I did something or not, but you will be the first to know after I find him.” and before Gem could add anything else to the conversation, Etho gave her a quick hug and then soared off the balcony towards the shopping district.

    When Etho arrived at the bottom of the stairs to the coffee shop, he knew he was in the right place. As he slowly and carefully made his way up the backstairs, he could hear Bdubs shuffling around behind the counter. Once he got in the door, he flipped the open sign to closed, feeling like this conversation might be one they would like to have privacy for. Or at least as much privacy as one can get in the shopping district. 

    Etho silently leaned against the doorway leading from the entrance hallway into the coffee shop as he watched Bdubs work. He was doing more of the mundane tasks that he would usually do at the end of the day after closing. As Etho watched Bdubs work, the pictures of their potential little family came back to mind and he started to smile to himself.

    As Etho was caught up in the idea of their little family, Bdubs had turned around and looked right at Etho in the doorway. “Hey ‘Dubs.” Etho pulled his mask down as he flashed Bdubs his typical Etho smirk.

    Bdubs just stared back for a moment, as if he had blue screened before flashing his big, toothy grin. “Heya Etho!” Bdubs tried to act like his usual self, but was a lot more fidgety than normal. So Etho strolled right up to the shorter man and gently placed his hands on his shoulders. At the action, Bdubs completely stopped fidgeting but refused to make eye contact.

    “Bdubs, I think you know what I am here to talk about.” Etho had not meant for his words to come across as cold as they did. When he felt his lover tense up at his words, he gently used his right hand to tilt Bdubs head so they were looking at each other. “I am not mad or anything if that’s what you are worried about bud.”

    Bdubs drank up the look in Etho’s eyes that were only for him. He saw only love and adoration and just a bit of concern for the man in front of him. “I did not think you would be mad sweetheart.” Bdubs could hear the doubt in his own words and quickly added, “I was just worried you would say no, or that it would push you away, asking you to have children with me and all.”

    Etho felt a little crushed inside. How could Bdubs ever push him away? Bdubs was the man he loved! “Aww, Bdubs…”

    “It’s just, I love you, ya know?” Bdubs wrapped his arms around Etho’s waist, holding him loosely. “I just love you so much and I love the idea of having a little family with the man I love.” Bdubs bowed his head back down as he finished his sentence, feeling Etho’s eyes digging deep into him.

    Rough but soft hands gently cupped Bdubs face as it was slowly raised again, this time with a soft caring kiss placed on his forehead. “I would love to have a family with my Bdubs, because I love you so very much.” Etho’s words were whispered softly between gentle kisses placed all over Bdubs face. The pure joy in his chest at the thought of a little Etho or Bdubs made everything right.

    After hearing that Etho was completely on board with making a family together, a cheeky and mischievous grin crept across Bdubs face as he eagerly kissed Etho. Before pulling away to get back to work, he leaned into Etho’s ear and whispered that he better make the start of the family journey very pleasing tonight. Once he saw how flushed Etho got, he pulled back and got back to work, with some playful teasing from Etho in the background.

    After Etho got a fresh cup of tea from the coffee shop, he went over to Gem’s place to let her know that he and Bdubs were going to be trying for a baby. Gem was very happy for her older brother and was glad he spared her any technical details on how they were going to be trying.

    Later in the evening, the beginning of Etho’s plans for the night were starting. First was a lovely and delicious homemade meal that Etho had made all by himself with no help from Gem. Totally. Then they had a lovely round of desserts that he got Scar to make for him, but if you ask, Etho will say that he made them himself. Then Etho took Bdubs up to their bedroom to give Bdubs a wonderful back massage. He took Bdubs shirt off to be able to really work out the knots that were in his shoulders and back. 

    Slowly the massaging turns into kissing Bdubs shoulders and neck to turning Bdubs over and pinning him to the bed with hard, passionate kisses. It was not long after that that both men were completely naked and completely consumed by each other.

    The pair awoke as the sun started to bleed in through their window, revealing the complete mess of their sheets and the tangled mess that was the two lovers. Etho sleepily kissed Bdubs before gently asking if he wanted more of what he got last night.

    Bdubs sat himself up so that he was looking down at Etho with a sleepy, sly grin as he whispered, “Honey, I dare you.”

I finished watching Mako Mermaids (the spin-off of H2O: Just Add Water).

Some thoughts...

Obviously, it definitely was not a patch on the original. The trio of girls just weren't as captivating as the previous trio (plus Bella), and Zac was honestly kind of dull to start with. But I really wanted to get to the end and see what it was all about, plus I knew Cariba Heine guest-starred in it and I really wanted to see her in the later seasons.

The colossal plot-hole right from the beginning was hard for me to look past lol.

Sirena, Lyla, and Nixie were from a pod of mermaids that lived around Mako Island called the Mako Pod, right? Right. It's also evident from Rikki's return to the area that this show takes place around ten years after the original show ended. It's also evident that when the girls tell Rita, their teacher who is a mermaid but has chosen to live on land as a human, that they are from the Mako Pod, Rita recognises this name and knows of the pod.

So that would suggest the pod has lived there quite a long time. So where were they all when Emma, Cleo, and Rikki turned into mermaids? Those three and all their pals were constantly around Mako and the Moon Pool, but there were no mermaids guarding the area. They never once bumped into another mermaid swimming around that part of the water somehow. So where did the Mako Pod even come from? Why were they never around in the few years that Emma, Cleo, Rikki, and co were mermaids? In fact, when Rikki does appear, she's made a living out of being a deep sea explorer and is surprised when the gang come to her and reveal to her they were mermaids from birth - how has she been scouring the oceans as a JOB and has never bumped into another mermaid?

I found that all pretty frustrating because it just makes no sense - the Mako Pod just popped up one day and it confuses the lore of the original series. They could've easily said the pod had recently moved to the area a year or two ago because of the call of the Moon Pool or some shit. I don't know.

Also, their powers... what is going on there? Zac is obviously wildly powerful as a merman (why are mermen better?) but he can do random shit like unlock doors and go invisible (and the girls can go invisible too but like... why) and just generally do magic things that have nothing to do with water. Weilan even sets off a car alarm with her powers. Zac can twirl coins? That was never shown in the original (other than the girls being able to lift people but it took all of them to do it and it was a full moon... and I guess humans are mostly made of water so that's not actually that weird).

I also don't understand the mermaid fear of mermen. They are hated because mermaids are terrified of them and their power, but all the mermaid pods are friggin' huge. So there must be a whole bunch of them making mermaid babies somehow and surely they need mermen to do that?! That never got touched on but I'm dying to know.

I hated Zac for a lot of season one (and Cam) and I know that was kind of the point - he was being a dick, but God, it was annoying. Then it gets all resolved, which is great, and I liked Zac waaaay more after that (and he started growing his hair out and it was hella cute) and I was really warming to the girls by this point. I loved seeing their relationship develop with Rita, and I really liked Lyla especially. I kind of wanted her and Zac to get together. It sort of seemed like it might be heading that way? And then season two starts and they drop the bombshell that Lyla and Nixie have left!!! Why!!! They get replaced by Mimmi and Ondina who were even less interesting to me. That was such a bummer. I started to enjoy Mimmi more but I never really liked Ondina. And then Sirena vanishes on a months-long vacation with her sister for the entire final season and is never seen again, only to be replaced by Weilan, who I also didn't love.

I was excited about there being a character called Evie as well because I hardly ever find people in shows with my name, but she was honestly kind of boring and annoying and not a great actress. I do sympathise with her, like... her boyfriend acts like a total weirdo for months and it low-key looks like he's cheating on her and then it turns out he's a mythical creature. That's a lot to deal with at like 16. But she wasn't an amazing character, I didn't love her. She got better as the series went on though. I did know she turned into a mermaid because I saw a GIFset of it long before I started the show so that wasn't a surprise either.

There was just a lot that didn't make sense and I just didn't love it, or even like it at times.

I guess they tied things up well at the end though, even though none of the original three mermaids that started out in the first episode were even there any more. Mimmi and Zac got their birth mother back, Zac's going to reveal his secret to his parents, and he's happy with Evie... Mimmi told her boyfriend about her secret. Weilan's going to rebuild her pod with Ondina's help.

Rita, who I ADORED, quit being a teacher on land to help young mermaids instead and return to her roots at sea. I was a bit confused by that plot because it seems like she's going to lead a dual life on land and sea, now that the Mermaid Council are open to such an idea, but I don't get why that meant she had to quit her day job lmao. She was obviously keeping her house and everything as she still had it in the final episode, and she adores her cat Poseidon so she wouldn't leave him. Whatever, I love Rita, I love her friendship with the gang, and I love that she gets to be part of the pod again while also enjoying the life she's built for herself on land.

And they wrapped up things with Rikki so nicely!!! I thought it was a weird choice for the writers to have her not believe the gang when they told her they needed her help to fight a water dragon... like... Rikki and co literally fought a monster made of water in that same area probably not even 10 years ago, so why would she find that hard to believe? Bizarre. My heart broke when she revealed she's not friends with Cleo, Emma (and Bella?) any more. But then at the end she said she would come back to spend time with the gang and the Mako Pod and meet other real mermaids, and that she would bring her friends. <333 YES baby reignite your friendships. <333 There was no mention of Zane though I get the impression they are not together any more which also hurt my feelings but in my head, if she's spending more time in that town again, maybe she bumps into him there at some point and they get back together. It's canon now ok.

Anyway. That was rough to get through. H2O will forever be iconic, this was not a great sequel though.
