gosh, seeing people happily discussing about their OCs make me want to show my OCs too but then i realized i still have not make any "official" art of them and their background details are still being worked on
#just me rambling#tbh. my reborn ocs are the only one who ''fully'' fleshed out#Kayne original from Hoenn and their main purpose to go to Reborn was to study these new field effects#Neo (who i considering to change name because there are suprisingly many ocs has Neo name XD)-#was originally from Reborn but moved to Alola after the region got into chaos#then back to Reborn because the Aether president order him to look for rouge scientist that secretly works on Type:null#and then order him to stop the PULSE inventions#Evelyn is one of the orphanage from Sigmund place#she ran away before Lin did and joined team Meteor then leave the team after learning about what happened to Ace#rejuv OCs are like...different cans of worms#because rejuv lores are wild#all ocs are from different worlds that ''stumble'' into this one specific dimension#one OC is hinted to be Ariana who lost her memory because she felt into a Dimensional Rift when running away from the Nihilego#one is an high-ranking scientist of Garufa who got killed by Variya but their soul somehow ''get'' rescued by their Dusknoir and the pokemo#thought it would be safer to literally transfer its trainer soul to different universe#one is related to my other Reborn OC. who...has the most normal background compared to other rejuv ocs#there is also another rejuv oc that...has two versions of themselves#one is specifically made for renegade route and to be the pain in everyone ass

Decided to binge watch the entirety of Pokémon Generations again because it's been a few years since I last saw it and uh

I'm not certain if you said this already, but does Link have his memories in your legends arceus au?
Oh yeah, he does! He remembers everything - especially that last memory of trying to reach Zelda 🥲

Sorta on topic, & this also applies to DxP REWRITE or Pokémon in general - I have a sorta love / hate relationship with the idea of spacetime travel itself results in memory loss.
On one hand, I like it - it makes sense for keeping the world order across time, less chance of any temporal anomalies, like in Bioshock Unlimited where characters’ memories would get kinda scrambled the first time they enter a parallel timeline, then rearrange themselves in a way that makes the most sense for that timeline.
On the other hand, I think it’s too simple? Like for Ingo, I don’t feel satisfied with him losing his memories just from traveling through spacetime, which is why I didn’t go that direction (saving things like memory rearrangement for things like when the Scarlet & Violet timelines were merged, which made Professor Laventon question if it was the Scarlet or Violet Book that described Heath’s expedition to Area Zero back in Chapter 1).
At the same time, what explanation could be made for, say, Looker’s apparent memory loss? When we chronologically first meet him in Hoenn, he’s missing memories himself.

⬆️ Imagine that’s Ikrit, lol
I have my own thoughts about it, but those will make themselves apparent later /foreshadowing.

*Slowly slides into your requests* Hey, saw your requests were open and have a request. You remember the phantump story you wrote a while back? Is it okay if we get a Warden Ingo follow up to that? I can just imagine Ingo returning to his time with this phantump with him. Emmet would be thrilled to have his brother back, but he would notice how subdued he is. He'll notice how protective he is of he phantumb, and how he never battles with it. It would probably take a while, but when Ingo finally says just who the phantumb is he would probably be horrified. That phantumb is his brother's child. His nibling. This is what is left of a young child who died due to being tossed out of the only safe place they had by a bunch of adults looking for a scapegoat. I just think it would be interesting to see how Emmet navigates the whole phantumb situation.
delicious absolutely delicious
🍓🍓🍓
Phantumps. Emmet wracks his brain for information about them. They're not native to Unova, he knows that, but where were they native to again? He remembers a Galarian man with one, and maybe someone from Hoenn too? What had they said, if anything, about the little possessed tree?
It's hard to remember, with the Pokémon stood before him. Ingo's arrival, while celebrated and prayed for, brought many changes to routine. The new Pokémon were one of those changes, and of those new Pokémon, Phantump was the strangest.
Emmet is no stranger to baby Pokémon, what with his collection of Joltiks. But the Joltiks still battle, one another and sometimes even the older mons, to gain experience. Ingo, however, lunges in between whatever Pokémon tries to start a friendly scuffle with the Phantump, sometimes eating moves himself to protect his baby.
It unnerves Emmet. Pokémon are made for battles, they love to battle, and from what he's seen, the Phantump likes to even command battles alongside Ingo. The little Pokémon sat in its own custom baby carrier, strapped to Ingo's chest, cries out and the Pokémon of Ingo's new team listen to it.
So why won't Ingo let it battle?
Why does Ingo treat the little Pokémon like it's his actual, human child?
Emmet drops the spoon he was holding, a shock traveling up his spine, one not from the Joltiks. Ingo glances up from his own bowl, Phantump whining in his lap.
"Emmet?"
Emmet doesn't respond, mind reeling as he begins to remember the little tidbits of Phantump and how they come into the world.
A hand grips his shoulder. Emmet jumps, balking up at Ingo's face all pitched with worry. Ingo can't even ask him what's wrong, for Emmet is whispering to him.
"Phantump was. . ."
Ingo staggers back as though Emmet smacked him. He snaps around, and Phantump coos, still sat on the chair where Ingo left it. It doesn't resist the strong hug Ingo pulls it into, happily nuzzling into his shoulder.
"Phantump was. . ." Emmet tries again, voice barely hanging on. "Was a child. . ."
Ingo's entire being trembles. Though his back is to Emmet, he can still hear the tears that drip from his voice. "They were mine."
The shock of the new information sends Emmet reeling once again.
For all the time that Ingo was gone, surviving somewhere dangerous, it never occurred to Emmet that Ingo might. . . live. Might live his life, make a family, try to make the best of what his fractured memories left of him. To have a child, to have one that is now snuggled into his arms, bark and leaves and spectral limbs. . .
Dragons, Emmet thinks, staring into the peaceful face of the little Pokémon, that's my nibling, that's my family.
Emmet fires to his feet. Ingo whips around to him, stammering out words through his sobs, trying to explain, but Emmet doesn't let him. He hugs his brother, hugs his nibling, hugs his family close to him.
Ingo wails into his shoulder. "Th-they were supposed to protect them. They were su-supposed to take care of them in my stead. I was on a mountain, I was so far away. . . They banished them, Emmet, they banished my baby and they d-di-"
Emmet shushes him. As Ingo sobs, he feels the gentle touch of rough wood on his face. Phantump echoes his cries, sharp and high pitched with a pain he couldn't ever know.
🍓🍓🍓

Talking to a friend about the "What If" idea of the Hoenn Frontier Brains from Anabel's original universe finding her and returning her home, even if just for a little bit. Or rather, Anabel choosing to see her original home on her own, just out of closure.
And I think about it...
Anabel would feel this dizzying sense of deja vu, familiarity, but also... Homesickness.
It's been a long time. Her original Hoenn has changed. She has changed. She finds many places and people she finds familiar, memories that come sporadically. There are things that seem to come to her naturally, as though she knows this trail on the back of her hand.
But then there's other things. She checks her phone to text something to Wicke or Burnet or another friend, but she can't. She sees a crepe that reminds her of Kalos, or hah! That's a Malasada shop! She had some really good ones in Alola! Oh and then when she went to Galar and oh this is something Emma would certainly love as part of her training to become a better trainer and Sushi! Nanu enjoys this and.....
Oh. Looker would laugh and tell her to get him a Malasada too, wouldn't he? And he'd smile and...
Greta, Tucker, Brandon, Noland, Spenser, Lucy... They are all friends. People she's lost but regained. Maybe others, too.
but Anabel is still. Homesick.

Saw all the new fics popping up so I'm throwing my hat into the ring because I enjoy pain and crave that angst. Purely self indulgent with my personal headcanons thrown in.
Series: Pokemon Horizons
Characters: Liko, Roy, Dot, Ludlow, Murdock, Mollie, Orla
Warnings: Major spoilers for HZ089
--
The night was peaceful. A cloudless sky granted easy access to the stars twinkling above. It was a beautiful sight worth gazing at on an ordinary, peaceful day.
Ludlow’s steps were silent as he shuffled his way down the corridor. For once, his Quagsire remained in its Pokeball after spending hours utilizing its water to cool down overheated engines. It was quiet but he knew for certain that no one was actually asleep. He didn’t think anyone was able to after…
He inhaled sharply. His already small stature seemingly shrunk from how his shoulders drew in from swallowing down the emotions clogging his throat, then loosened with his deep, sorrowful sigh.
Ludlow was no stranger to loss. He lived a long, fulfilling life, outliving many of his peers. Traveling with the Rising Volt Tacklers had been his way to rest and unwind after many years of acting, to enjoy the wonders of adventure with people young enough to be his grand kids.
He always had this belief that he’d be the first to go. It wasn’t something he particularly thought about but it was present at the back of his mind. And he’d be, while not necessarily fine, accept it. He had a good run, seen sights and did things that he hoped these young folks too would get to experience by the time they reached his age.
It never truly occurred to him how it’d feel if someone else left first, especially one so tragically young.
He still remembered the day of their first meeting. Ludlow had docked his boat at Porto Marinada, intending to browse the market for anything that caught his interest. What he came across instead was a young man splayed out on the docks, seemingly uncaring that he was blasted by the strong sunlight.
Ludlow decided to check on his well being. It led to him striking up a conversation with the lad, and then inviting him onto his boat to go fishing. From there, he slowly learnt bits and pieces of this young man named Friede, who recently quit his job, had a Charizard and didn’t really know what he wanted to do with his life.
He knew a lost soul when he saw one. Ludlow could have parted ways with Friede after returning back to port but instead, he offered the lad future fishing trips as a means of providing purpose. Friede took him up on it, and for months they’d sail together, where Ludlow acted as a quiet pillar for Friede to lean against as he grappled with his lack of direction in life.
When he disappeared for awhile and returned with a Pikachu on his shoulder, there was a spark to his eyes that told Ludlow he’d be alright. He listened to Friede’s plans, granting him ownership of the Olivine to bring it all the way to Hoenn before finally hearing his seemingly impossible dream of converting this simple fishing boat into an airship.
The Brave Olivine came to be, and now he was a part of the Rising Volt Tacklers. Ludlow bore witness to its many ups and downs, silently observing the lost youth’s growth into a confident, capable captain. He believed that Friede’s potential was limitless, and only hoped he could see that for however long he had left.
Now, it seemed that would never happen.
“Grief and love are conjoined,” Ludlow uttered to the empty corridor, his voice low and thick. “You don’t get one without the other.”
-----
Within the ship’s galley, Murdock slowly pulled out different ingredients from various cabinets. He worked on autopilot, relying on muscle memory to pull out the utensils needed to whip up… something.
Truthfully, a part of Murdock didn’t want to cook. Lead weighed down his limbs; joints sore from the tense position he held throughout steering the airship past its limits until they safely landed. It was different from regular piloting, and in the situation they were in, required him to pour in all his focus and energy to ensure everyone’s safety.
Well, almost everyone.
Murdock braced himself against the counter, palms flat on its surface as he squeezed his eyes shut. His broad shoulders shook from the fresh wave of grief that crashed into him, sucking in breaths like a man drowning on air. He then held his breath long enough to make spots dance in his eyes before exhaling the sharp panic within his chest.
He opened his eyes, staring sluggishly at his hands. Murdock took in another settling breath before he resumed his previous task. Regardless of how off kilter he felt, people still need to eat. That was his primary task when he wasn’t piloting the ship.
(Now, he might have to shift his priorities. He was the only other person capable of flying the Brave Olivine after all).
Murdock decided on making pancakes. It was quick and easy, with little room for error in terms of tastes. Even if he wanted nothing more than to bury his head into his hands and cry, his crew deserved to eat something tasty after everything that happened.
As he made the batter, his mind wandered. Murdock recalled his first meeting with Friede, the guy who endlessly praised his cooking after he left the pastry shop, giving him a much needed confidence boost. He listened to his pitch about needing someone to make meals for this new group, ultimately joining once he realized he could make people happy with his meals; people who would appreciate his skills and him as a person, too.
He remembered Friede’s help while he studied to earn his own pilot’s license, the nights spent brainstorming over treats that would encourage his niece to eat. The way he’d nag Friede into eating better as well as the times where he received assurances on the way he treated Dot. Murdock’s hands continued working even as his mind sank deeper into his memories.
Eventually, he managed to make a more humble spread than the usual meals he’d make but one that would sufficiently satisfy everyone (if they had the appetite for it). Murdock was in the midst of setting out the plates when a realization struck him with the intensity of Cap’s Thunderbolts.
Ah, right. There was an empty plate now.
It was this simple thought that broke him. Murdock sunk onto a chair, buried his head into his hands and cried.
-----
It was only after Mollie finished the check-ups that she allowed herself room to breathe.
Leaning back in her chair, she threw an arm over her eyes, heaving out a deep, exhausted sigh. Mollie felt a headache brewing in her temples, a typical sign of the stress she endured throughout the harrowing flight away from Laqua. Keeping the Pokemon calm took a lot out of her mentally, too.
That, and consoling the ones who witnessed the traumatizing sight of Friede and Charizard being swallowed by the wind.
(She heard their cries first. Surged to her feet and stumbled her way down the corridor to find the kids and Orla holding onto one another. Saw their tear stricken face. Felt her heart drop to her stomach at Friede’s absence. Tasted iron in her mouth from biting her inner cheek to keep her calm once they broke the news to her).
Mollie wanted to believe that they’d be alright. Her heart desperately wished for it but her mind, teeming with everything she learnt in her pursuit within the medical field, was more grounded.
(At the altitude they were at, the atmosphere was thinner. They’d be buffeted by strong winds that stole warmth and air in their lungs, losing orientation if they spiraled out of control. It would be difficult for Charizard to spread its wings, and even if it did, the drag it’d create could further separate Charizard from Friede. Of course, this was under the assumption that they remained conscious instead of blacking out from the lack of oxygen).
She let her arm drop to her sides, then raised a hand to pinch the bridge of her nose. Mollie really didn’t want to continue that gloomy line of thought. In all honesty, she didn’t want to process these feelings that bubbled beneath the surface. It reminded her all too much of her past naivety, where she’d find herself in all kinds of embarrassing and shameful situations because of Sohdayo’s tall tales.
(She recalled the times where Friede would step in, telling Sohdayo off for messing with her too much. All the discussions they had over time about the crew’s health and safety because both put it in high regard. The nights where she’d scold Friede while patching him up after he acted too recklessly, though understanding that it was just a part of his character. That Friede would put others safety above his own, and today was simply a tragic reminder of that trait).
“You’re such an idiot,” Mollie mumbled, swallowing through a lump in her throat. “I told you that you’re going to get killed one of these days. Why did you have to prove me right?”
-----
Today simply felt unreal to Orla.
That moment seared itself into her memories and would likely forever haunt her dreams.
She dashed towards the exit, barely able to push open the door from the strong winds buffeting it. She saw the kids gripping onto the railings and–Friede, clinging onto Charizard that barely held on with his claws. Fear sprouted in the pit of her stomach.
“What are you doing!? Hurry up!” she yelled, trying her best to inch ever closer without getting blown off herself.
Orla saw Friede pick up Cap, uttering something that she wasn’t able to catch. He did his best to hand Cap over to Liko, before offering them an assuring smile.
It seemingly stretched for an eternity and also happened in an instant. For a moment, she just couldn’t believe it. Unable to fathom how within a split second, he was… gone.
The howling winds drowned out her scream but she heard it ringing in her ears, felt how visceral it was as it ripped out of her throat. Her heart seemed to swell into a mallet and swung violently against her rib cage, as if trying to shatter it to pieces.
It might as well be, seeing as she likely witnessed the final moments of Friede’s life.
After that everything was a blur. Regardless of how she felt, she still needed to ensure the kids’ safety. Orla vaguely remembered ushering them inside to where Mollie was, then returned back to the engine room. Until they made a rough but successful landing, she threw herself into the metaphorical fire, pretending that it was sweat that made her cheeks wet.
Now, sitting on the captain’s chair in the middle of a peaceful night, Orla felt numb. Vaguely she knew that she should wash up, change into clean clothes and grab something to eat.
Orla didn't want to do any of that. All she could think about was that last moment, seeing his smile even in the face of certain doom.
Of course he'd do that. Orla knew him pretty much her entire life. He'd always been the sort to put on a brave face, hiding how he really felt if it meant convincing others that everything was fine.
She recalled all the times in their childhood where Friede would step in to protect her, sniffling and wiping his face while she patched him up but always sporting that stupid smile.
Even time didn't change that part of him. When he came to find her all those years later with an impossible request, somehow Orla believed she could do it when he flashed her that smile.
She buried her face atop drawn up knees, arms wrapped around her legs. The pressure built behind her eyes and yet, she couldn't cry. Every fiber of her being wanted a release from this anguish rolling through her body but it felt like there was a mental block, the numbness preventing her from getting that desperate release.
Orla squeezed her eyes shut. Bit her bottom lip. Felt her shoulders shake from the physical want to cry but frustratingly, she just can't.
“Pika?”
Her head snapped up at the faint sound. She looked over her shoulder to find Cap, devoid of his hat but carrying with him…
“Oh, Cap,” she whispered in a watery tone. Orla got off the chair as Cap dashed towards her, and she scooped up the little Pikachu in her arms. She soon sank to the floor onto her knees, curling around Cap that tucked himself into a small ball, his paws wrapped tightly around Friede's cracked goggles.
Together, the pair mourned the loss of their leader, best friend, partner.
-----
No one wanted to be alone tonight.
At first it was just Liko, laying on her bed whilst staring at the ceiling, physically and mentally exhausted but unable to fall asleep. Meowscarada and Hattrem were fast asleep at the end of her bed–it was more cramped now with her starter’s new size but Liko wouldn’t dare have her sleep in her Pokeball.
Pagogo remained deeply asleep in its Pokeball, so still at first that Liko initially feared the worst until she saw its soft breaths. She disliked how out of sorts she felt, frustration and grief clawing at one another in her chest that she had to take deep breaths to keep a semblance of calm.
Then it was Roy, who knocked on her door and she opened to find him standing there with a haunted look in his eyes, arms carrying his pillows and blanket. No words needed to be exchanged as Liko stepped aside for her friend to quietly enter.
Liko carefully grab her pillows from her bed, then pulled out a spare blanket from her closet so she wouldn’t disturb her slumbering Pokemon. Together, they worked in tandem to form a soft spot on the ground to lay on, where they can feel one another’s warmth and presence. An assurance that, at the very least, they were alright.
Before they could discuss about calling Dot over, they heard a hesitant knock on the door. Liko opened went to open it and find Dot standing outside, sporting a surprised look like she didn’t expect Liko to answer. In her arms was a pillow and blanket, and if Liko squinted, she could spot Quaxwell standing to the side at the end of the hallway, leaving after it was seemingly satisfied that Dot won’t be alone now.
Liko didn’t really give Dot a chance to speak. She simply grabbed hold of her wrist and ushered her inside. Roy and Dot shared a quick look before he readjusted the pillows to make room for Dot’s.
Soon, all three kids were laying on Liko’s floor, blankets covering their legs while their tired eyes stared at the ceiling. For a long while, no one really said anything. Liko would have believed her friends had fallen asleep when Roy spoke up.
“Do you think he’s fine?” Liko can’t recall if she ever heard Roy sound so… small and defeated. Her heart clenched painfully as she swallowed, blinking through the sudden burn in her eyes.
“I don’t know,” she replied thickly. Liko didn’t really want to think about it because if she did, she would have to acknowledge the fact that Friede might be well and truly gone.
“It’s…” Liko heard Dot speaking up, pause and then swallow as she tried to find what to say. “...we can hope.” Dot decided at the end.
“Yeah. Hope,” Roy mumbled. That was really the only thing they could do in this moment.
They fell silent once more. Liko was mildly surprised to find a hand gripping hers, only to realize that it was Dot. She was quick to squeeze Dot’s cold hand, gently thumbing the back while Dot took a few deep breaths.
“I… I’m glad that you’re alright Liko. That we’re alright,” Dot began hesitantly. “I was… scared that you’d get blown off too.”
Right, Dot had been the one to grip her tightly while she reached out to grab Cap.
“Oh Dot, I’m glad too. I’m so glad that you two are safe. I can’t–I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to either of you,” Liko replied in a watery tone.
Wordlessly, she felt Roy pull her into a half hug, her head resting atop his chest. Dot let go of her hand to shift closer, tucking against his side so she can throw an arm across Roy’s chest to reach her. Roy, in the middle of this cuddle sandwich, released a quiet breath.
“We’re… we’re going to be alright,” Roy spoke, attempting to inject some confidence into his voice. “He… he’d want us to be fine. Didn’t he say that we should think and act for ourselves?”
“Yeah, he did,” Dot mumbled.
To think that only happened earlier today. Liko wondered if, for one reason or another, Friede knew in advance that he needed to impart that piece of advice to them.
“So I think we should do what we can to… to be alright,” Roy trailed off a little awkwardly at the end. Liko felt that he wanted to say something else but chose otherwise.
She won’t push Roy, though. Liko too agreed with what was said. They should do what they can to be alright. She didn’t think it was possible but, if not for her own sake but for her friends, she needed to at least try.
“Yeah,” Liko replied, with Dot parroting it moments later.
Once again they fell silent, but this time it felt less thoughtful and more so that the exhaustion was finally catching up on them. Liko thought that this time, she could fall asleep, knowing that she wouldn’t be alone by the time she woke up.
“Hey Roy, Dot?” Liko whispered, her eyes slowly closing as the call for sleep became too much. “Thank you for being my friends and going on this adventure with me.”
Liko didn’t quite catch their replies but she believed that they too shared the same sentiments. She might be facing an uncertain future but, in this present time as night slowly inched towards a new day, she’d wake up to a mess of tangled limbs and the certainty that Roy and Dot were by her side.

Took a break from OC a day due to irl stuff and to finish the Sinnoh team shot~ (my art has hella improved since the first one I did for Johto :sob:)
These are all the Pokemon Dia has that were first discovered in the Sinnoh region!
Her outfit is based on another early outfit design she had (it's not her current one). ✩ Johto Team Shot ✩ Kanto Team Shot ✩ Hoenn Team Shot ✩ ✩ Sinnoh Team Shot ✩
Click the read more to learn about each of the Pokemon!
Plasma—Mismagius—♀—Naughty Nature After spending the night in the forest near Ecruteak city, Dia found that one of her Pokeballs was no longer empty. Inside, was Plasma, the Misdreavus. Plasma doesn’t remember much from before this point, but occasionally has flashes from what she assumes was her life as a human. The last memory she has is being in the mountains at night, surrounded by rocks that look suspiciously like tombstones… Mischievous and a prankster, Dia often gets requests for Plasma to help with scaring away humans/Pokemon from entering restricted areas, working in haunted houses, etc. ✩Notes: taller than average, but not max size
Bun (Bunnicula)—Lopunny—♂—Adamant Nature Dia found an egg and a Lopunnite abandoned at her doorstep one day. Unable to find the original owner, Dia decided to keep the egg. Lulu (Dia’s Audino) hatched the egg and helped to raise the rambunctious buneary. Bun is quick to anger and often picks fights—especially when he’s mistaken for a female. Despite his tough guy demeanor, he really wants to become a strong Pokemon that can protect others and trains daily to meet his goals. ✩Notes: wears bandana with Lopunnite
Syntha—Leafeon—♀—Mild Nature Syntha was raised as a housepet by an elderly, retired singer. When she passed away, her children had no interest in taking care of their mother’s Leafeon and simply released her into the city. Alone and afraid, she was found by Dia’s older sister, Saku. Syntha was tired of being cooped up her whole life, and happily joined Dia when extended the offer to travel. Later on, Dia brought home a Vaporeon, Navy, that quickly bonded with Syntha and the two had three children—Nunnally (Sylveon), Dominic (Espeon), and Damian (Jolteon). Her favorite activities include sunbathing, spending time with her family, and singing.
Miloh—Lucario—♂—Quiet Nature The child of Dia's Lucario, Reiki, and an Absol belonging to Dia’s husband. Not long after meeting her then boyfriend (now husband), Dia was presented with an egg by her Lucario, Reiki. She left the egg in Dia’s care and disappeared. Dia’s husband Absol was disinterested in being a father, so Dia hatched it on her own. Miloh’s shy but amiable. He enjoys friendly competition and training for battle. His best friend, Flurn (Flygon) and him play and spar often. Unfortunately, Miloh has been unable to awaken his aura abilities and, therefore, is unable to evolve. ✩Notes: fluffier and has Absol eyes due to father; unable to mega-evolve
Azu—Azelf—Hardy Nature Not long after Dia qualified as a champion rank, she was approached by a trainer who demanded a battle. She agreed, and was met with an Azelf and Latias. They were clearly being mistreated and kept hostage in master balls. Dia quickly defeated him. With a little “persuasion”, he relinquished the two Pokemon to Dia and she released them. Latias flew away, but Azelf decided to tag along. Although they have been caught by Dia, Azu is free to come and go as they please. They rarely visit and, when they do, they only lurk or play with the other Pokemon—Azu’s not interested in battling or interacting with any other humans.

Gen 1 Gym Leaders From Memory

thoughr about 'going to the beach with the kids' prompt but had a tough time thinking about how cyrus could be convinced to go... maybe he and lenie are only there to research the staryu and starmie due to their mysterious connection to space
Cyrus definitely would struggle going to a beach but might be able to bear it so long as it is not Sunyshore. Maybe they go to Hoenn to visit his ancestral home. They end up fascinated by the tropical region's many offerings and begrudgingly visit beaches to experience it all. Though, spaceman would be hypocritical and roll his eyes at being told about Team Aqua and Magma. What fools, he would think. Lenie is more of an inside person, but she would find Staryu and Starmie interesting. They both are uncertain how these pokemon connect to space... Cyrus can only assume its their shape, but that is illogical. He finds their regenerative abilities captivating, though.
Considering the idea, however, for other characters:
Nanu and Ohi'a live at the beach, so that is just going outside for them... They suppose they can appreciate the beauty of the island they live on – Tapu Bulu might get angry if they do not seeing as it controls the vegetation. Ohi'a maybe tried to build a sand castle when he was little and then accidentally created a Sandygast. Acerola handled the pokemon, at least.
Colress and Prisma go to the beach, and the scientist sees it as a teaching experience. He goes into an explanation about how the ecosystem here is far more important than most people realise and how humans disturbing it can have long-term consequences for some species. Prisma just runs into the water and declares herself a Primarina. Colress stares blankly for a moment.
Ingo and Erin go to the beach in Undella... Ingo spends half the day trying to get Erin into the water as he clings to him for dear life. The ocean is big and scary and full of weird pokemon that he is not sure of. Ingo feels more like he is trying to give his Chandelure a bath than introduce his son to the ocean. It takes Emmet showing that his Eelektross likes the water for Erin to reconsider. Ingo feels grateful for the save from his brother. He splashes with the eel pokemon while Ingo enjoys the summer weather with his family.
Inka, Emma, and Emmet visit the beach in undella town. Inka instantly is in the water, wanting to show off her swimming while Emma is hiding under a shade umbrella to prevent too much sun exposure after slathering herself in sunscreen. Emmet does not understand Emma but joins Inka happily. He races her around in the warer. Eventually, Emma does join them, albeit not really interested in swimming too much. Inka and her get into a splashing battle, which makes Emmet laugh at the nostalgia it brings. He needs to splash Ingo again.
Grimsley would like to pretend his trips to the beach were marred with happier memories, but he now had to work for some. Taking his kids to the beach in Alola seemed like a good start. He watched as Nero seemed to instantly take to swimming for fun (having brought along Nanu's son for company). Morrigan was more hesitant, so he pondered how to get the girl interested. His Sharpedo was not allowed in the crowded waters, so he opted instead to introduce her to Mantine surfing. She seemed to enjoy it somewhat, but it was difficult to tell with her. Nero, at least, did. Grimsley felt challenged when his son admitted he was after his record. Suddenly, the competition interested Morrigan, who also wished to break his record. Grimsley could only shake his head at his children.
Clover and N go to the beach in some private area of Unova. They both are utterly entranced by the variety of scenery offered in the region. It is a mostly uneventful excursion that leads to them just sitting and enjoying the sight of the sea. Sea pokemon pop out, and N introduces them to Clover, who excitedly greets them. She has a new friend in a Jellicent by the time they leave.
Seeing as Pasio is an island, Lear naturally takes his children to the beach. Cordelia is under close monitoring, of course, due to her health concerns, but otherwise, it is fairly normal. Regan helps his sister on the water and plays with her as she floats around with her floaties. Lear also bravely goes into the water – He proceeds to scream when a Magikarp brushes against him, making his kids laugh. They then both scream when the same happens to them. The royal family is terrified of fish, possibly.
Larry somehow gets time off and takes his kids to Porto Marinada. He mostly finds himself interested in the food stalls, but his kids actually attempt to enjoy the getaway. Araceli watches a Pelipper with deep intrigue while Laureano actually swims a bit. Both manage to drag their father into the water, who grumbles in his t-shirt and shorts. Araceli breaks her usual floaty facade to splash her dad, who simply groans. There is no fight in their father.
Volo somehow ends up in the Cobalt Coastlands with Astrea and watches the girl rush to the short with interest. A chuckle leaves him as she splashes the water. While he was there to look into possible ways of recapturing Giratina's aid, he supposes this is fine. She ends up in the water with him as he tells her about a story Phione and Manaphy. Her interest makes him proud. The beach is enjoyed for as long as he feels time will allow.

hi!! i'm the same anon from the languages ask. (thank you for answering btw!! it was very interesting!) i've been having thoughts about pokemon languages for a WHILE, and i'd like to know what do you think was the expansion of "japanese" (let's say hisuian) from hisui to the other regions. if the pearl/diamond clan speaks "japanese", then the galaxy corps learned it from them, yeah? or were they settlers from before that were ALREADY speaking "japanese" (therefore there is no conflict with kanto, johto and hoenn speaking "japanese" too, even if it might have evolved slightly differently)? i have this headcanon that celestica people (who were there even before than the clans) spoke our equivalent "russian" instead, what do you think of that?
also THE LAST CHAPTERS OF THE D&P REWRITE HAVE BEEN HEARTBREAKING AND AMAZING THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SMALL REUNION I LOVED IT ;;;
also if i am annoying feel free to tell me to stop i am Sorry ;; i just like languages a lot.
Hm! I would imagine they were all speaking Japanese, if we were to believe that they all came from “Japanese” regions originally (which I find very likely - there are a couple who have descendants further out in the world like Unova or Kalos, but for the times, I think it makes more sense for them to be from Kanto, Johto, or Hoenn).
I would actually guess that the Celestica people would have spoken “Ainu”, as I think the Celestica people are supposed to represent the indigenous people living in Hokkaido, the Ainu (the story of Legends Arceus being based on the colonization of Hokkaido in the mid-1800’s).
Another thought is that they could be speaking the Pokemon equivalent of an ancient Hellenistic language like Latin, as all the ruins & the Temple of Sinnoh are more styled like ancient Grecian / Roman architecture:
If so, my memories of Art History make me wonder if it’s a reference to the Silk Road at all? Though honestly, I think it’s to communicate that the Pokemon world is a lot more multicultural & diverse than ours is / was (like people who live in “Japanese” regions don’t seem to necessarily be genetically Japanese you know? Ikrit’s an example of that, being white rather than asian) &/or it just “looks ancient” lol.
As for Russian - the Ainu people lived (live?) in Russia as well as northern Japan, so maybe? I could see it being a substitute for Ainu, seeing as it’s an almost dead language, & could make sense in universe? Depends on the direction one wants to go in I guess! If it were me, while I COULD try to excavate my old memories of high-school Latin lol, I’d want to try including Ainu in some way, even if it’s a couple words or a phrase. ;u;
Thank you very much! I hope you keep enjoying the story (lol it’s all good - I love world building, & languages are a part of it!)
PS: Oh! I forgot - while all the “Japanese” regions probably speak “Japanese”, different parts of Japan have their own dialects, much like how different parts of the US have their own words, phrases, & accents.
This showed up in Legends Arceus when Kamado had a moment of losing his cool - in the US English, he seemed to have an almost Southern / country accent, but in Japanese, he talks in a Kansai accent (aka Johto accent). The more you know!

My Skyfallers List - PKMN LA edition
To all my Pokemon fans out there, I have just played Pokemon Legends Arcues (completely) and Scarlet this year. Let me tell you I had brain rot for weeks that I've started to read all the Skyfaller au's (au's in Legends Arcues where a person other than Dawn/Lucas and Ingo fell into Hisui) and I have read a LOT.
So I made a list, I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
(Also if a tag has it, i will say it so its not spoilers!)

Silver is our next Skyfaller, and part of an au with Lance as his dad and the makeshift family that comes alongside him. Only, it's hard to trust people fully after a life like his, so being dropped in Hisui? Not the best thing to end an argument with your crush.

Is Jessie from Hoenn? I saw a fact somewhere saying she was born on Littleroot Town, and she had memories there growing up. I think there was an episode in the Advanced series I was talking.
It’s not confirmed and I personally believe she’s from Kanto since her mother was in Team Rocket while it was still a relatively new organization and was probably still only based in Kanto (but that’s not really confirmed either)
However early in AG, I think the first episode (?) when Team Rocket arrives in Hoenn/Littleroot, Jessie speaks of it very wistfully so she’d definitely been there before when she was younger! They never bring this up outside of this episode though LOL
My hc is that, because she was a foster kid and was implied to move around a lot, she ended up there at some point. Also, this has no basis on anything but, I believe Jessie was training to be an idol in Hoenn and Astin left her to go to Sinnoh (Crossing Paths)

In Pokemon Masters, there was a very popular event about Tate and Liza which was regarding Ultra Wormholes. Basically, Liza gets sucked into a wormhole with Anabel following right after to save her, and in that parallel world they find a Celesteela.
yknow I always loved associating Anabel with the moon, and it only made me think of the tale of princess Kaguya.
Anabel kinda got Kaguya vibes... uh, according to my own delusions that is.
A mysterious maiden, one that I associate heavily with the moon, from another world... In the end, Anabel's time in her original Hoenn came to an end as she was literally spirited away into the heavens, or basically fallen into an Ultra Wormhole.
Kaguya's tale is... Tragically similar. She lives in her world and loves it, and when she is taken to the moon, she loses her memories of her time on Earth.
Taken to another world, no way to stop it, and she loses her memories in the process. A very sad tale.
