Another avenue I want to explore in an Amity Park is Weird scenario is all the niche sub-cultures going on.
There is absolutely NO WAY there isn't a thriving goth community in Amity Park. They're holding picnics every full moon. They're holding crafting sessions in their friends' basements. They're adopting ghost animals left and right: eight-legged dogs and blob-cats, skeletal fish and neon bearded dragons.
There's a young man called Raphael who performs live music every week at a dance club with his band: he's got a myriad of shiny piercings, and a phone camera roll full of his rabbits, Morningstar and Salem. Perhaps those ghosts are bad business like the Fentons say, but the club's never felt more alive.
The scene and emo kids are multiplying at a rapid rate. The punks and grunge folks are doing shit with textiles that makes every quilting grandmother in a five mile radius swoop in to pass on their skills. Josie and Betty, old friends who periodically upload photos online of their handmade lace, suddenly gain an influx of young folks who want to learn how to make their own ghoulish patterns.
There's a new group peeling off from the goths that dress like the embodiment of Halloween– all bones, pumpkin orange and lengths of costume jewelry.
The historical costuming community is alive and well in these times, and they fall upon the few ghosts from times past willing to share knowledge like starving wolves. Their minds are full of patterning-math and fabric prices, and their excitement is, quite literally, infectious.
A revolution starts up in food service: a great many restaurants closed or moved to follow the many people who left Amity after the ghosts first came. A pair of brothers open a restaurant that has the best Polish food around: people politely don't comment on how the owners are dressed in clothes a century out of date or how their eyes gleam. Two cat cafes open, one space themed and another with loose definitions of what counts as a "cat." Assorted coffee and tea shops dot the landscape: some serve donuts, some have cupcakes, and others have breakfast wraps, sandwiches or savory hand pies.
People that can't afford to open a restaurant sell food out of their homes, advertised by cardboard signs with phrases like CAKES FOR $10, and BARBEQUE RIBS FOR SALE painted on them in gigantic bright letters. High school students bring in bags of cookies they made the night before and completely sell out of stock before the day is done. One woman's house has no signage and yet is known by word of mouth to be a herbalist, selling tins of homemade tea blends, flowers, assorted plant clippings, and cough drops.
Someone down the street of Casper High sells small batches of eco-friendly soap at a nearby corner store.
During summer time, lemonade stands are everywhere. Some of the lemonade is made with the strange fruits from one of the parks: no one dies, so it's fine.
The Farmer's Market has gotten... intense.

Getting a Dog With Bakugou Headcanons
Tumblr media
You're probably dating or married when you pop this question.
And you better believe Bakugou won't even broach the subject unless you ask it first.
"Can we get a doggy? Pretty please?"
You're giving him your classic puppy-dog eyes that he's seen from you a million times before.
And if you get a dog, he knows he'll have to deal with twice the amount of begging.
He wants to say yes to you, but no to the dog. That doesn't make sense at all, but he just really hates saying no to you.
He is just not too fond of dogs, cats, humans, living creatures, inanimate objects, etc. He's a hard sell on everything in life.
He's not 100% against the idea but he'll hear you out because he'd hate to disappoint you. Honestly, he'd rather be shot than see you upset.
However, you also care way too much about Bakugou, the love of your life, so you take the time to convince him rather than inundate him with pleading that will inevitably wear his defenses down. You want him to be happy too!
You point out all the helpful things dogs can do, all the tricks they can learn, the jobs they can get, and the competitions they can win.
Bakugou really likes that last one! You know the boy like the back of your hand.
You point out some of the stronger and sturdier dogs because you know that's more up his alley, but your heart is calling you to the smaller, sweeter, and funnier dogs instead.
Bakugou says the latter types of dogs remind him of you, and you hope that this is a compliment!
(It is)
You go to the shelter to rescue a little fella. It's hard to say if you'll find a dog that simultaneously is in desperate need of a good home while also is capable of doing all the tricks Bakugou wants to teach it. A lot of dogs here have their own issues to go through before even thinking of doing something like competitions, so you text your friends in the Bakusquad to encourage them to adopt the ones you don't pick.
Somehow, you find the right dog for you both.
It's a corgi!
You had a lot of dogs you wanted, but it was really hard to pick. You suggested a Pomeranian because it reminded you of Bakugou, but he shot the idea down solely due to your reasoning. Now that you think about it, maybe it was better that you didn't get a Pomeranian. After all, with Bakugou in your life, having another Pomeranian would just be redundant.
Bakugou doesn't like that line of thinking either.
So your corgi will suffice for now. You're not sure what jobs he can get, but he is definitely good for competitions. You've seen some intense corgi racing on the track before. And although corgis are inherently goofy creatures, Bakugou could at least appreciate how helpful they were. He still had a problem with the little guy's overly judgmental face though.
"What are you staring at?!"
"Aw, don't worry honey! Maybe he just thinks you look cool?"
Once you brought the dog home, the little guy was excited to explore the place. You made sure to get some good step cushions so he could hop onto the couch without hurting his legs or back. You gave him all the food and love he could ever ask for, and you even researched online how to prep your own homemade meals and treats for the guy.
Needless to say, Bakugou was jealous.
"You've replaced me for him!" he says.
He's not wrong. He's currently looking at you in bed cuddling your corgi, who happens to be taking up his spot.
"That's just how life goes sometimes, Katsuki." You shrug in defeat.
Bakugou growls at the dog, who growls back.
The dog is super biased. The dog loves you way more than Bakugou, like by a mile.
You can't have them growling at each other all the time so you hold regular bonding sessions for the three of you to get along.
So now when you make something special for the dog, you end up making a nice baked good for Bakugou too!
But then Bakugou feels guilty seeing you cook so much, so he ends up making something for you as well, and that's how you end up cooking dinner like 3 hours earlier than usual.
When you cuddle with your dog, you're also cuddling with Bakugou who's got his arms wrapped around you while you three watch TV or something.
Bakugou really likes it when the dog growls at the TV. It's like the dog hates whatever is currently being shown.
"Yeah yeah, don't worry you damn dog. I hate this shit too."
While you're away, Bakugou teaches the dog tricks like "Attack!" and "Explode!". The dog is learning much more than it ever wanted... but at least they are becoming quite talented!
If your friends ever get their own dog, Bakugou will have to challenge their dog to a Pokemon battle at some point.
But the best times are when the three of you go on walks through hiking trails. It's something you all can enjoy.
When you finally find a beautiful, scenic view above the entire city, your corgi curls up around your legs and Bakugou kisses you on the forehead. He lingers for a moment to watch your reaction to the view of the city he's given you, and you tell each other for the millionth time you love one another.
"Thank you so, so much for showing me this place, Katsuki!" You squeeze him tight. He squeezes you back, not letting go.
Now he's really glad he didn't say no to you. Maybe one day you'll get another dog...
Then Bakugou will get triple the puppy-dog eyes!

little prompt for you if you like: "is that my sweater?"
Awww thank you! I'm thinking this will be really cute for Kyle and Jasper.
____ Undone
Word Count: 1.1k Content Warnings: fluff, established relationship, mild suggestive content
____
Jasper's key clicked in the lock, and they pushed the door to their apartment open. The squeak in the hinge was gone - Kyle must have finally gotten tired of it and attacked it with some WD-40 earlier today. They stuck out a foot, keeping Ruff from barreling out the door. For a dog that barely weighed fifteen pounds and spent most of his life lounging in the sunshine, he certainly seemed to think he had a chance of making a break for it.
They scooped the dachshund up and laughed as he wriggled around to lick their face. Jasper readjusted their grip on the dog to give him a scratch behind his floppy ears.
"Hey, Jazz," Kyle called out from some other corner of the apartment, "How was work?"
"Fine!" Jasper called back, gently setting Ruff N' Tumble back down as they spoke. The dog went trundling off into the kitchen, following the sound of Kyle's voice and the vague promise of food scraps. Jasper followed, shrugging off their jacket as they passed the coat rack. "Kind of tiring, I guess. Lot of bee stings. Apparently there was this office picnic out by Audobon Park and there was a hive in one of the gazebos. One of the bees got caught in a lady's purse and flew around the ER for a while... freaked a lot of people out, so..."
They finally reached the kitchen and found Kyle hard at work chopping vegetables. There was a pot of broth on the stove, and he paused just long enough to readjust the burner before returning to his carrots and onions. Ruff stood at his feet, paws tip-tapping eagerly against the tile floor. Kyle glanced down, then not-so-subtly nudged a baby carrot off his cutting board with the flat of his knife.
"Oops." he deadpanned, a lopsided smile pulling at his lips as Ruff snapped it up.
"How was your day, babe?"
"Eh. Fine. Finally got that project sent in." Kyle answered, then set down his chef's knife to pull Jasper into a brief kiss. He pulled back just a moment later, shrugging at he rubbed at one of the scars on his wrists. "Humidity's got me all itchy, though. So that's been fun."
Jasper reached out and ran their hand over the space where his shoulder met his back - one of the places where he couldn't quite reach the scars without all sorts of awkward contortions. Kyle groaned faintly and leaned into the touch, and Jasper wondered how long that spot had been bothering him.
"Here." he said, reaching to grab a spoon and dipping it into the broth, "Taste this."
Jasper obliged, though the broth was so hot they burned the roof of their mouth. Kyle winced in apology as he tossed the spoon back into the sink.
"It's good." they said, once the heat had died down enough for them to actually taste it, "Homemade ramen?"
"Mm-hm. I got the recipe online. Figured we could try it out."
"Do I have time to shower before it's ready?"
"Oh, yeah. The carrots will take a few minutes to cook," Kyle said, then gestured at a pile of green vegetables, "And... whatever this is."
"Bok choy?"
"Right," he agreed with a shrug, tossing the vegetables into the broth, "But you've got time."
"You're the best." Jasper sighed, leaning faintly into his side before drawing back. Ruff followed them for just a few steps before giving up, deciding that the chance of more baby carrots trumped the opportunity for belly rubs as Jasper made their way into the bedroom.
There were few things that helped a bad day more than a good hot shower. Jasper did their best to keep it brief, not wanting to delay dinner, but they could feel the lingering sludge of emotion from the ER melting away under the spray of water.
"Is that my sweater?" Kyle asked when they slipped back into the kitchen ten minutes later. His eyes raked up and down their figure openly, and Jasper bit their cheek to hold back a smile. They burrowed a little deeper into the garment - indeed, one of Kyle's old fraternity sweatshirts, washed and worn down to comfortable softness.
"Do you want me to take it off?"
Kyle raised his eyebrows, a half-smile pulling at his lips.
"Only if you're not wearing anything underneath," he said, dark eyes sparking as he bared them a cheeky grin. Jasper felt themself flush but didn't back down.
"What about dinner?"
"We've still got time," Kyle protested, coming up behind them and wrapping his arms around their waist. His hands snuck under the hem of their sweatshirt and traveled up, palms warm as he traced the expanse of their skin. After a moment, he let out a low breath and ducked his head to whisper in Jasper's ear. "Mm. I was right."
He'd struggled with touch for a long time. After he was first brought back, he'd hardly let himself touch them at all - as Jasper learned later, once he'd gotten his words back, he'd felt uncomfortable with the idea that it was technically someone else's hands doing the touching, what with all the splicing and grafting the witches had put him through. Jasper had reassured him, time and time again, that they didn't care and had always seen him as Kyle, but... still, it had taken a long time for him to bounce back from that. Even recently, he was hesitant with intimacy in a way he'd never really been before.
Kyle tightened his grip, pulling Jasper back against his chest, and pressed his lips to the underside of their jaw. Jasper let out a low sigh, stifling a shiver of pleasure.
And from the kitchen, a timer beeped.
Kyle muttered a low swear, his breath tickling Jasper's neck.
"That would be our dinner." he sighed, "Perfect timing."
He leaned in and pressed one more kiss to Jasper's throat, then gently unwound his arms and stepped back. Jasper didn't let him get far. They spun around and caught the lapel of his shirt, tugging him down into a deeper kiss. Kyle hummed, low and rough in his throat, and chased them as they began to pull back. Jasper reached up and ran their fingers through his mess of wild curls, drawing another low noise from him.
"To be continued," they promised, giving his hair a faint tug for emphasis. Kyle let out a sharp breath, visibly steadying himself.
"To be continued."

Ough Zeke if I could send you all these soft asks I would they're so adorable 🥺🥺🥺 but I'll settle for 5, 10, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 23 uwu have a lovely day <33
wahhh sara you're the sweetest 🥺 thank you for the asks and I hope YOU have a lovely day!
5. who do you feel most you around?
IRL I feel the most myself around my sister! We have some deep talks and she's very good at talking me through tough subjects. And in the online space, I feel like I can truly be myself with you! 💚💚
10. what’s something you’re excited for?
I'm going to see my best friend on Sunday! We're going to visit a Japanese bakery that we haven't been to before, but their bun and dessert selection looks impeccable,, I'm hoping to get one of everything on the menu 🤧
12. how are you?
I'm doing really well, thank you <33 I have a lot of ideas for art, my shoulder and neck have been feeling better these days, I've been reading some new books, I'm less stressed on the employment front, I'm having a great time rn!
13. what’s your comfort food?
Any creamy and/or cheesy pasta tbh... homemade mac & cheese, fettuccine alfredo, carbonara, mentaiko udon,, ough those creamy pastas are the way to my heart
18. do you still love stuffed animals?
Ooooo well, I do still love stuffed animals, I like admiring them in stores or in claw machines, but I don't really like buying them. I don't have much space in my room for plushies and I don't like sleeping with more than one or two of them. I have a stuffed horse named Cinnamon that my parents gifted me when I was three, and I still sleep with her next to my pillow (she's very threadbare)
19. most important thing in your life?
Hmm this is a hard one...currently I think connecting with other people is the most important thing in my life. I've been socially isolated for the past year or so, and I've been very lonely and depressed at times, so now when I do get out & about I really enjoy making small talk with strangers or complimenting people's outfits. Like I really do understand the importance of social interaction after being cut off from it for awhile 😅 even a few sentences exchanged with a stranger can make my day feel so much richer, if that makes sense.
20. what do you want most in the world right now?
I'm pretty satisfied with what I have atm! (aka nothing's coming to mind atm, sorry sara 😅)
23. favourite piece of clothing?
OOH this is tough,, I want to say my patch jacket, which I've had since 2018, it's covered in Amazingly Curated and Thoughtfully Placed patches and it's getting very heavy and stiff,, but I also recently thrifted a sherpa-lined acid-washed 80s style denim jacket that is so comfy and just warm enough for spring, I've been wearing it almost every day when I walk the dog and I feel so cool wearing it...ig I'll have to go with my patch jacket but the acid washed one might dethrone it someday soon

bio
— evelyn was born at 12:03pm on 13th july 1970 in leeds, uk, to finnegan rosewood, an archaeology researcher, and miriam rosewood, an art history lecturer. she also has two younger sisters, celeste and lillian.
— evelyn is very close with her family. her parents led busy lives with their work, but always made time for their daughters and the five of them would travel to a different country every summer for their holidays. and like the rest of her family, evelyn grew up as a bookworm. she was always an advanced reader and spent most of her free time with her head in a book. she loved it most when her mother would read her a story before bedtime, which her sisters were later included in when they got a bit older. they also often visited museums and galleries on educational trips and went to as many as they could across the uk.
— all throughout her educational career, evelyn was a top student and something of a teacher's pet. she always went above and beyond with essays, projects, and presentations to ensure the best grades possible to make her parents proud and be a role model to her sisters. she loved art, history, home economics, and was passionate about english ever since she learned to read and write; she later pursued english literature when she attended university, firstly in london for her bachelor of arts and then in her hometown of leeds to complete both her masters and phd.
— evelyn never intended to go into lecturing, but after several years of writing research papers specifically on historical ghost stories and gothic literature, it came naturally, especially after both of her parents were involved in the academic world. knowing she had her parents' support and wisdom, evelyn was confident that she could excel in her role. at the age of 29, the opportunity arose for her to teach in the netherlands, which she couldn’t pass up, even if it meant being apart from her family.
— she settled in well, living in a cosy apartment a short distance from the university, and began to pick up the language, which was a relief to say the least. she also became good friends with her turkish neighbours and was more than happy to help out with anything they needed, including watching the three children if the parents needed to work, do errands, or if they needed time out.
— to cope with the massive change in her life, evelyn found solace in writing. she began writing short stories at first, but her ultimate goal was a novel. after some thought and planning, she started drafting her first novel entitled ‘the secrets we bury’: a dark academia story set in her home city during the victorian period.
— during the summer of her sixth year in the netherlands, just after her 35th birthday, evelyn took a trip to the pacific northwest of the usa: somewhere she always wanted to visit. she had dreamt of the rugged landscape, the crashing waves, the quaint towns, the vast forests, and what inspiration she could find there. she flew out to seattle, spent a week there (which, as a fan of the tv show frasier, was incredibly exciting) before renting a car and driving down the coast. by chance she ended up in kismet harbour and completely fell in love with the place. it proved successful in giving her inspiration for her second novel, a mystery story with elements of the supernatural entitled 'hold the dark', which she initially began writing in tandem with the first, but not publishing until three years after her trip.
— returning to the university in the new academic year, she found that the literature department had a new lecturer. he was charming, kind, enthusiastic, and they both warmed to each other very quickly. they would eat lunch with each other on most days, discuss the university modules, talk about their favourite books, and eventually he asked evelyn out on a date. they went to dinner in a restaurant that was perhaps a little too expensive, made constant and jovial conversation over a delicious meal, and he walked evelyn home. after that night, she found herself falling in love with him and every time they were together she fell that bit further. after three dates in total, they became an official couple and two years later they were engaged.
— however, it wasn't long until they decided to call off the wedding. most of the planning was complete and there was only two months to go before the big day when evelyn's fiancé told her that he couldn't marry her. she was heartbroken and when she asked what had made him change his mind, he admitted that he felt as though they were growing apart, both becoming engulfed in their work and wanting different things out of life and so much so that he didn't think he could see them compromising. he could see how much it had hurt evelyn, but he still assured her that he loved her very much and insisted that she kept her engagement ring.
— she soon began to focus more and more on her own writing, dreaming up more ideas for novels, and realised that was what she wanted to do with her life, so reluctantly she gave up teaching. she also realised that, even though she loved the place very much, the netherlands wasn’t home and now had too many bad memories associated with it. she ended up moving back to leeds to stay with her parents for a while before figuring out what to do next.
— at the of 37, evelyn returned home and during this emotional slump, evelyn began writing an bi-monthly column for fellow bookworms and those interested in literary theory. she still does it to this day, writing about up and coming authors, new books she's read, how literary theory is and can be applied to specific novels, and even writes reviews. it gave her back her confidence and allowed to express herself whilst also getting other people involved in something they all loved.
— evelyn eventually found her own flat in the city centre to move in to after spending several months with her parents. in that time her blog became incredibly popular and she adopted a miniature schnauzer puppy and named him edgar. she remained there until sixth months ago, eventually ending up an author of seven books, when she decided to move to kismet harbour, which she had always thought about moving too, feeling as though it would be a perfect place to call home.
— despite still having mixed feelings about living alone in a different country that’s even further away from her family, evelyn loves kismet harbour and is glad she made the decision to move. she has even pushed herself to join some local activities to feel more apart of the community and to keep her mind on more positive things. she joined read between the wines, trivia nights, budding minds, and hands on kismet harbour.
wanted connections
— ex-fiancé: your muse is the english lecturer (although i’d be happy to let the mun change the subject if they wish!) that evelyn first met when she returned from america to the netherlands. he’s equally passionate as her about his chosen subject, has a heart of gold, and came looking for evelyn to try and make amends. he loves her dearly and has missed her ever since they broke up, but the feeling is mutual. he, too, could have been from the uk or the usa or even elsewhere, but he would be between 52-58 years old and fc suggestions include: billy crudup, timothy olyphant, ethan hawke, paul rudd, nikolaj coster-waldau, keanu reeves, raúl esparza, ewan mcgregor, matthew mcconaughey, arjun rampal, patrick dempsey, and toby stephens.
— new romance: as an alternative option to the aforementioned connection, i would love for evelyn to find somebody that help her to get over her relationship and commitment anxiety and for this person to be super down to earth, really understanding, and just a general ray of sunshine who can pick her up when she’s feeling down and to help her come out of her shell. i imagine he may also become something of a muse and an inspiration to her when it comes to writing her next big bestseller (the age range and fc suggestions above would fit for this connection too!).
— younger sisters: evelyn has always been close to celeste and lillian (i'd be more happy to let muns change their names if they wish to pick up either connection!) and so it was hard to leave them behind when she moved to america. maybe one or both couldn't bare to be so far apart from their eldest sister and decided to make the leap, joining evelyn in kismet harbour. (evelyn's sisters' ages aren't set in stone, but i imagine celeste would be around 4-5 years younger than her and lillian would be between 5-10 years younger, so some suggested faces are: cate blanchett, jodie whittaker, rachel mcadams, vera farmiga, nicole kidman, january jones, lauren german, but anyone you think would be suitable would be welcome!).
— pen pal: during her first stay in kismet harbour, evelyn befriended a local and she spent some time hearing their stories about the town and its history. the two got along very well and saw each other often; evelyn was sad to leave them when she had to return to the netherlands, so the two decided to become pen pals. the write to each other at least once a month, sometimes more, and had a wonderful reunion when evelyn moved to kismet harbour permanently. they’re still really close and do different activities together, like dine and drink out, watch films, go for walks, etc. (this muse can be of any fc and gender and preferably (but not necessarily) be a kismet harbour native, but has to be at least ten years younger than evelyn and have been in the town for a good number of years before they first met).

Vegan to vegan advice? I've rescued cats and dogs most of my life, and have a couple of best friends currently. I don't make a lot of money, enough to get by and care for myself and them but not enough to afford vegan ''pet'' food, which I've done enough research on to know it's pretty safe for dogs and, with the right nutrients and vet visits, safe for cats. (I think if I'm wrong then let me know) But I can't afford it, which sucks because animals don't deserve to die to feed them, they're lives are more important. And part of me knows it may be irresponsible to rescue any other non-human animals in crisis because that means killing non-human animals for them too, but I can't ignore anyone in need. It just sucks trying to sleep at night constantly remembering how many lives are taken for theirs, what do you think? Any advice or ideas, maybe even some homemade vegan ''pet'' foods that are cheap but have the right nutrients?
I can definitely empathise with this, it’s one of the reasons I don’t have pets myself. I’m afraid I don’t have enough knowledge on animal nutrition to be comfortable offering any recipes, i can’t even speak for the efficacy of the ones I can find online either, so I’ll approach this solely from an ethical perspective.
In rescuing an animal, you commit to adequately provide for their needs, including health, nutrition, stimulation, socialisation etc. You should only rescue if you know you have the time and resources to do that. It sounds like you do have those resources, just not so much that you can afford specialty foods - though that would be something you’d need to factor in if a vet ever prescribed it.
For you, what you have to reckon with is your own comfort levels - rescuing involves providing meat to those animals who need it. It’s fine if you’re not comfortable with that, but in that case you should look towards rescuing herbivorous animals. I do disagree on the idea that we know plant-based foods are safe for dogs and cats, but since that isn’t a viable option for you anyway there is no point in me going into that.
It is worth pointing out that whether you feed these animals or not, they are going to require food derived from other animals - the only question is again how comfortable you are being the one to feed it to them. The alternative is that they stay in the rescue centre, or someone else adopts them and also feeds them food containing meat, or that they don’t get rescued and end up euthanised, which I’d argue is not preferable.
By buying food containing meat, all you’re doing is providing for them what they need with what resources you have, that certainly doesn’t make you any less vegan, even if it does make you feel guilty. You are doing a good thing by rescuing so long as you actually can can afford to keep doing so and don’t over commit, you just need to decide if the guilt you feel over feeding them is enough of a problem to make you want to stop doing it.

The Importance of The Best Dog Food: A Journey To Healthier Pets
A Heartwarming Story: Max And His Transformation
In A Bustling Neighborhood In Delhi NCR, There Lived A Golden Retriever Named Max. He Was A Bundle Of Joy, Loved By His Family And Adored By The Local Kids Who Always Stopped To Pet Him. However, As The Months Passed, Max Began To Show Signs Of Lethargy. His Once Shiny Coat Lost Its Luster, And He Often Refused To Play. Concerned, His Owners Took Him To The Vet, Who Revealed That Max's Food Was Lacking In Essential Nutrients.
Determined To Help Their Furry Friend, Max’s Family Embarked On A Quest To Find The Best Dog Food. They Discovered A World Of Fresh Dog Food Options That Promised Not Only Better Health But Also A Happier Life For Max. They Switched To Premium Natural Dog Food That Included Whole Ingredients, Rich Proteins, And Essential Vitamins. Within Weeks, Max Was Bouncing Around The House, His Coat Gleaming, And His Energy Levels Soaring. This Transformation Was Not Just A Change In Diet; It Was A Revival Of Spirit.
Max’s Story Resonates With Many Dog Owners. The Food We Choose For Our Pets Plays A Pivotal Role In Their Health, Happiness, And Longevity. In This Article, We Will Explore The Importance Of Selecting The Best Dog Food, The Benefits Of Fresh And Natural Options, And How To Find Quality Dog Food Online.

Understanding Dog Nutrition
The Basics Of Dog Food
Dogs, Like Humans, Require A Balanced Diet To Thrive. This Includes Proteins, Carbohydrates, Fats, Vitamins, And Minerals. Selecting The Best Dog Food Ensures That Your Pet Receives All The Necessary Nutrients To Support Their Energy Levels, Immune Function, And Overall Health.
Types Of Dog Food
Dry Dog Food (Kibble): Convenient And Cost-Effective, Dry Dog Food Is Popular Among Pet Owners. However, Not All Kibble Is Created Equal. It's Essential To Read Labels And Choose Brands That Prioritize Quality Ingredients.
Wet Dog Food: Known For Its Palatability, Wet Dog Food Is Often More Appealing To Picky Eaters. It Can Also Provide Additional Moisture To Your Dog’s Diet, Which Is Beneficial For Their Hydration.
Fresh Dog Food: This Is A Relatively New Trend That Focuses On Providing Dogs With Meals Made From Whole, Fresh Ingredients. These Are Often Less Processed And Free From Fillers, Making Them A Healthier Choice.
Homemade Dog Food: Some Pet Owners Prefer To Prepare Their Dog’s Meals At Home. While This Allows For Complete Control Over Ingredients, It’s Crucial To Ensure That The Diet Is Balanced And Meets All Nutritional Requirements.
Tumblr media
Why Fresh And Natural Dog Food Matters
Nutritional Superiority
Fresh Dog Food Often Contains Whole Ingredients Like Real Meat, Vegetables, And Grains, Which Provide Better Nutrition Than Heavily Processed Options. This Is Particularly Important For Dogs With Specific Dietary Needs Or Those Prone To Allergies.
Enhanced Digestion
Dogs Digest Fresh Food More Efficiently. The Natural Enzymes And Nutrients In Fresh Ingredients Can Lead To Better Digestion, Less Gas, And Smaller Stools, Making For A Happier Pet And A Cleaner Home.
Improved Skin And Coat Health
A Diet Rich In Omega Fatty Acids And Natural Oils Can Significantly Enhance Your Dog's Skin And Coat. Many Dog Owners Notice A Direct Correlation Between Their Dog's Diet And The Condition Of Their Fur.
Increased Energy Levels
Just Like Max, Dogs Fed High-Quality, Nutritious Food Tend To Have Higher Energy Levels. This Not Only Improves Their Quality Of Life But Also Encourages More Playtime And Exercise, Which Is Vital For Their Overall Health.
Finding The Best Dog Food In India
Researching Brands
When Searching For The Best Dog Food In India, It’s Essential To Research Different Brands. Look For Companies That Prioritize Quality Ingredients And Transparency In Their Sourcing. Brands That Offer Fresh And Natural Dog Food Often Have A Significant Edge Due To Their Commitment To Health.
Local Options
If You Prefer To Shop In Person, Searching For “Dog Food Near Me” Can Yield Great Results. Local Pet Stores Often Carry Premium Brands and Can Provide Valuable Advice On What Might Be Best For Your Dog.
Shopping Online
The Convenience of Buying Dog Food Online Cannot Be Overstated. With Just A Few Clicks, You Can Compare Prices, Read Reviews, And Find the Best Deals. Websites Specializing In Pet Food Often Provide Detailed Descriptions Of Their Products, Making It Easier To Choose The Right Option For Your Furry Friend.
The Role of Quality Ingredients
Understanding Labels
When Choosing Dog Food, Understanding the Label Is Crucial. Look For Foods That List Meat as The First Ingredient, Avoid Those with Fillers Like Corn Or Soy, And Check For The Presence Of Whole Fruits And Vegetables.
Importance Of Protein
Dogs Are Carnivores By Nature, And Their Diet Should Reflect That. High-Quality Protein Sources, Such As Chicken, Or Fish, Are Essential For Muscle Development And Overall Health. The Best Wet Dog Food And Fresh Options Often Have Higher Protein Content Compared To Cheaper Kibble.
Avoiding Harmful Additives
Many Commercial Dog Foods Contain Artificial Preservatives, Colors, And Flavors That Can Be Harmful To Your Pet. Choosing Natural Dog Food Reduces The Risk Of These Additives And Promotes A Healthier Lifestyle.
Tumblr media
The Cost Of Quality Dog Food
Understanding Dog Food Prices
Investing In The Best Dog Food May Seem Expensive, But It’s Essential To Consider It As An Investment In Your Pet’s Health. Quality Dog Food Is Often More Nutrient-Dense, Meaning Your Dog Will Require Less Food To Meet Their Nutritional Needs.
Comparing Options
When Looking For Dog Food Prices, It’s Wise To Compare Different Brands. Online Platforms Often Offer Discounts And Bulk Buying Options, Allowing You To Save Money While Still Providing Your Dog With High-Quality Nutrition.

Buy Homemade Dog Treats: A Healthier, Tastier Option for Your Furry Friend
As pet owners, we all want the best for our dogs, from providing them with a comfortable home to giving them the best possible food. While commercial dog treats are convenient and readily available, many pet parents are turning to homemade dog treats for their furry companions. Whether you're concerned about your dog's health or simply want to spoil them with something delicious, buying homemade dog treats is a great option. Here’s why.
1. Quality Ingredients
One of the biggest advantages of homemade dog treats is the quality of the ingredients. Unlike mass-produced treats, which often contain artificial preservatives, flavors, and fillers, homemade dog treats are made with natural ingredients. When you buy homemade treats, you can be confident that you're feeding your dog wholesome foods like fresh meats, fruits, vegetables, and grains. This means no harmful additives, and the ingredients are often things you can recognize and trust.
2. Health Benefits
Homemade dog treats can be tailored to meet your dog's specific dietary needs. If your dog has allergies, sensitivities, or needs a special diet, homemade treats can be customized to accommodate them. Common allergens like wheat, soy, and corn, which are often found in commercial treats, can be avoided in homemade versions. Furthermore, the absence of chemical preservatives and synthetic ingredients in homemade dog treats helps promote better digestion, skin health, and energy levels.
Many homemade dog treats are made with superfoods like pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and blueberries, which provide essential vitamins and minerals. For example, pumpkin is excellent for digestion, and blueberries are rich in antioxidants. By choosing to buy homemade dog treats, you're ensuring that your pet is not only happy but also healthy.
3. Better Taste
Let’s face it: dogs love food that tastes good. Homemade dog treats are usually fresher and more flavorful than store-bought options. When made with high-quality ingredients, they provide a richness and taste that your dog will enjoy much more than the bland, processed treats found in pet stores. If you’ve ever seen your dog’s excitement over a fresh, homemade snack, you’ll know just how much they appreciate the effort!
4. Supporting Local Small Businesses
By purchasing homemade dog treats, you’re supporting local businesses and small-scale bakers who pour their hearts into creating healthy, delicious treats for pets. Many small dog treat makers operate in their local communities or online, crafting treats in small batches with attention to detail. These businesses often have a deep love for dogs, which shows in the care and dedication they put into their products. When you buy homemade dog biscuits treats, you’re not only treating your dog to a premium snack but also contributing to the livelihood of passionate pet lovers.
5. Eco-Friendly and Sustainable
Homemade dog treats are often packaged in eco-friendly materials, reducing the carbon footprint associated with large-scale production and packaging of commercial treats. Many small businesses also source their ingredients locally, further reducing environmental impact. Choosing homemade treats can be a step towards a more sustainable lifestyle for both you and your dog.
6. A Personal Touch
Homemade dog treat makers often go above and beyond to offer a personal touch. Some allow you to customize treats with your dog’s name or offer tailored options based on your pet’s preferences. This level of care and attention can’t be matched by large commercial companies, making homemade treats a truly special gift for your dog.
Conclusion
Buying homemade dog treats is an excellent way to prioritize your dog’s health and happiness. With superior ingredients, a fresher taste, and the ability to cater to your pet’s specific needs, homemade dog treats offer many benefits that commercial products simply can’t. Plus, by choosing to buy from local or small-scale bakers, you’re supporting passionate pet owners and contributing to a more eco-friendly world. So, the next time you’re looking to treat your dog, consider buying homemade – your dog will thank you with every wag of their tail!

World Bratwurst Day
Hit up your local grocery store or meat market and bring home some delicious bratwurst, a high-quality type of German sausage made of pork, beef, or veal.
While it’s certain that we’ve all had our share of sausages in our day, particularly that low-born sheath of processed meat known as the frankfurter, not everyone has had the pleasure of enjoying a bratwurst. Bratwurst is typically made from pork, but can, in fact, be made from any meat, and World Bratwurst Day celebrates every variety you can conceive of.
Learn about World Bratwurst Day
Bratwurst is a sausage that is heavily spiced, and it tends to be enjoyed either on its own with a side of sauerkraut or in a roll with mustard. The word ‘bratwurst’ comes from two German words. The word sausage is ‘wurst’ and then ‘braten’ means to fry. Pretty self-explanatory, right? Bratwursts have been around since the 14th century, and we will tell you a bit more about this. These sausages are typically made from beef, veal, or pork. These sausages are so popular that there have even been festivals created in their honor, and most people like to wash bratwursts down with a cold beer.
You may assume that a bratwurst and a sausage are both the same things, but that is not the case. A Bratwurst is a specific kind of fresh link sausage, which is made with veal or pork. However, sausage simply refers to ground meat being prepared in a certain way. Some people also assume that bratwursts and hot dogs are the same. Hot dog casing is a lot thinner than the casings that are utilized for bratwurst and other types of fresh link sausages.
Very traditional recipes for bratwurst call on the use of both eggs and cream in their preparation. However, it is important to note that different regions in Germany have different recipes. Bratwurst even differs in some regions of the United States as well, for example, in Wisconsin, Sheboygan-style bratwursts are very popular.
History of World Bratwurst Day
Sausage is quite ancient, going back as far as 228AD according to archaeological evidence, but the noble Bratwurst has only been around since 1313. Every region has a different variety of bratwurst to call its own, with over 40 varieties coming from within the country of Germany. Throughout Germany Bratwurst are perceived as more of a snack food than a main dish, though they can often be found served in the latter capacity at pubs, usually with sauerkraut or potato salad and a dense rye bread or pretzel. New York City may have hot dog vendors, but Germany has Bratwurst carts!
The varieties that come from Franconia date back to the first bratwursts, and are usually heavily laden with marjoram as a seasoning. These bratwursts tend to be large and filled with coarsely ground meat which lends them an overall juicier texture and flavor. While those from the city of Corburg only use salt, pepper, nutmeg, and lemon zest. World Bratwurst Day celebrates all these and the hundreds of other varieties available, and encourages us to explore the culinary world of the Brat and see what our taste buds can find!
How to celebrate World Bratwurst Day
Celebrating World Bratwurst Day is easy! Just head on out to your local supermarket and buy yourself a few bags of Brats and invite your friends over for a delicious dinner party! Looking for something a bit more adventurous? You can always look for the local bratwurst festivals that are held every year or you could get out and organize one! For those who are looking for a culinary experience, you can also create your own Bratwursts with whatever it is you think would go well in them! World Bratwurst Day asks us to share our love of Bratwursts and to try our hand at making our own. What will you create today?
Or, if you are really feeling adventurous, you could try your hand at creating your own bratwurst in order to mark the occasion. If you take a look online, you will see that there are a lot of different homemade bratwurst recipes, and so you are bound to find one that appeals to you. A lot of people have created their own takes on this sausage, with curry bratwurst, in particular, being a very popular choice. Once you have created your own bratwurst, you can then have fun experimenting with different creations and coming up with your own flavor combinations. It is a lot of fun and you are going to have a tasty treat by the end of it. What more could you possibly want?
In fact, this is a great way to get family, friends, and loved ones together. You can have a cook-off whereby you make different types of bratwurst and everyone can try the creations and score them. You could have a prize for the winner. After all, there is nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition, right? This is a fun way of doing something a bit different with the people you are close to, and we are sure it will put a smile on everyone’s faces and entail a few laughs along the way. All you need is some great ingredients, as well as some alcohol and you have everything that you need for a great get-together!

Authentic Polish Kielbasa: Discover the Taste of Old World Tradition at Piast Meats & Provisions
When it comes to authentic Polish cuisine, few foods are as iconic or beloved as kielbasa. This traditional sausage has been a cornerstone of Polish cooking for centuries, cherished for its rich flavors, satisfying textures, and versatility in the kitchen. At Piast Meats & Provisions, we take pride in offering the finest, most authentic Polish kielbasa available online and in-store, bringing the taste of Old World tradition right to your table.
What is Kielbasa?
Kielbasa is the Polish word for sausage, a food that holds a special place in Polish culinary history. In Poland, sausages are more than just a meal; they are a symbol of heritage and a staple of many family gatherings, festive occasions, and everyday dinners. While there are many types of sausages around the world, Polish kielbasa is unique in its preparation, flavor profile, and cultural significance.
Traditionally, kielbasa is made from coarsely ground pork, although variations may include beef, veal, turkey, lamb, or even a mix of meats. The sausage is seasoned with a blend of garlic, marjoram, and other spices, then stuffed into natural casings. Depending on the recipe, kielbasa may be smoked, dried, or left fresh. The result is a flavorful, hearty sausage that can be enjoyed in a multitude of ways.
The Variety of Kielbasa
One of the most appealing aspects of kielbasa is its diversity. At Piast Meats & Provisions, we offer a wide range of kielbasa varieties, each with its unique flavor and texture. Whether you're a long-time fan of Polish cuisine or a newcomer eager to explore, there's a kielbasa for every palate.
Smoked Kielbasa: This is the most common type of kielbasa, and it’s ready to eat straight from the package. Smoked kielbasa is packed with flavor, thanks to the natural smoking process using real wood. The smoky taste enhances the savory spices, making it perfect for grilling, sautéing, or enjoying cold.
Fresh Kielbasa (White Kielbasa): Also known as "biała kiełbasa" in Polish, this type of kielbasa is uncooked and unsmoked. Fresh kielbasa is typically boiled or grilled before serving. Its mild flavor pairs well with hearty sides like sauerkraut, potatoes, or in traditional Polish soups like żurek.
Dried Kielbasa: For those who enjoy a more intense, concentrated flavor, dried kielbasa is an excellent choice. This sausage is cured and dried, making it a great snack for outdoor activities like hiking, camping, or hunting. It's also a fantastic addition to charcuterie boards.
The Art of Making Authentic Polish Kielbasa
At Piast Meats & Provisions, we follow time-honored methods to create our authentic Polish kielbasa. Our sausages are 100% homemade, using coarse-ground, butcher-cut meats that are carefully selected for their quality and flavor. We stuff our kielbasa into natural casings, which not only contribute to the sausage's traditional texture but also allow for better flavor absorption during smoking or cooking.
The smoking process is where our kielbasa truly shines. We use natural woods to smoke our sausages, a method that infuses each link with a deep, rich flavor that’s impossible to replicate with artificial smoke or liquid smoke flavoring. The result is a kielbasa that’s not just a sausage, but a culinary experience that transports you to the heart of Poland with every bite.
How to Enjoy Kielbasa
One of the reasons kielbasa has become so popular beyond Poland is its incredible versatility. There are countless ways to enjoy this delicious sausage, whether you’re cooking up a traditional Polish meal or experimenting with new recipes.
Grilled: In the United States, grilling kielbasa is especially popular. The high heat of the grill brings out the sausage's smoky flavor, and the slight charring adds a delightful crunch. Serve grilled kielbasa on a bun with mustard and sauerkraut for a Polish twist on the classic hot dog, or slice it up and add it to your favorite grilled vegetable medley.
In Stews and Soups: Kielbasa is a fantastic addition to hearty stews and soups. It adds depth of flavor and a satisfying meatiness that complements vegetables and grains. Try it in a traditional Polish dish like bigos, a hunter's stew made with sauerkraut and various meats, or add it to a potato and cabbage soup for a comforting, warming meal.
As a Standalone Dish: Sometimes, the best way to enjoy kielbasa is simply on its own. Serve it sliced with a side of mustard, pickles, and rye bread for a simple yet satisfying meal that highlights the sausage's rich flavors.
In Pasta Dishes: Kielbasa also works well in pasta dishes, where it can replace other types of sausage or even bacon. Toss it with pasta, onions, garlic, and a creamy sauce for a quick and flavorful dinner that will have everyone asking for seconds.
As a Snack: Don’t forget that kielbasa makes an excellent snack, especially the dried variety. Keep some on hand for a quick protein boost or to serve with cheese and crackers during a casual get-together.
How to Identify High-Quality Kielbasa
Not all kielbasa is created equal, and when you're looking for the best, there are a few key indicators of quality. At Piast Meats & Provisions, we're committed to providing only the highest quality kielbasa, and we encourage our customers to be discerning when shopping for this beloved sausage.
Visible Meat Chunks: One of the easiest ways to identify a top-quality kielbasa is by slicing it open. A premium kielbasa will have visible chunks of meat inside, rather than a smooth, liquified texture like you might find in lower-quality sausages or hot dogs. This is a sign that the sausage was made with coarse-ground meat, which provides better flavor and texture.
Natural Casings: Authentic kielbasa is stuffed into natural casings, which give the sausage its traditional snap when bitten into. If the casing is tough or rubbery, it’s likely an artificial casing, which is a sign of lower quality.
Rich Flavor: Quality kielbasa should have a rich, well-balanced flavor with just the right amount of garlic and spices. It should be savory, but not overwhelmingly salty, and the smoky flavor (if smoked) should enhance the overall taste without overpowering it.
Buy Polish Kielbasa Online at Piast Meats & Provisions

Our flagship store, often referred to as our "castle store," is conveniently located just 15 miles from the Empire State Building and Newark Airport (EWR). Whether you're traveling through the area or making a special trip, we're easy to reach and always ready to welcome you with a warm smile and a sample of our delicious kielbasa.

Finding Affordable Dog Food Without Compromising Quality
Finding affordable dog food that doesn't compromise on quality is a top priority for many pet owners. While it's essential to keep costs low, it's equally important to ensure that your furry friend gets the nutrition they need to stay healthy and active. Here are some tips and options for finding affordable, high-quality dog food.
1. Understand Your Dog’s Nutritional Needs
Every dog has unique nutritional needs based on their age, size, breed, and health condition. Puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs require different types of nutrition. Understanding these needs can help you choose a cost-effective option that provides the necessary nutrients.
2. Compare Brands and Ingredients
Not all dog foods are created equal. Some budget-friendly brands may cut costs by using low-quality ingredients. Always read the labels and compare ingredients. Look for dog foods with high-quality protein sources listed first, such as chicken, beef, or fish. Avoid products with excessive fillers like corn, wheat, and soy, which provide little nutritional value.
3. Buy in Bulk
Purchasing dog food in bulk can significantly reduce costs. Many stores offer discounts on larger bags of dog food, and online retailers often have subscription services that provide additional savings. Just make sure to store the food properly to maintain its freshness.
4. Consider Generic or Store Brands
Generic or store brands often offer similar nutritional content to more expensive name brands but at a lower price. Research and reviews can help you find which of these brands offer good quality.
5. Use Coupons and Discounts
Many pet food manufacturers and retailers offer coupons and discounts, which can help lower the cost. Sign up for newsletters from pet food companies, check online coupon websites, and look for promotions in stores.
6. Homemade Dog Food
Making your own dog food can be a cost-effective alternative. This way, you control the ingredients and can ensure that your dog is getting high-quality nutrition. However, it's important to consult with a veterinarian to ensure the homemade diet meets all of your dog’s nutritional needs.
7. Check for Quality Assurance
Look for Affordable dog food that have been tested and approved by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO). This ensures that the food meets the minimum nutritional requirements set for dogs.
Conclusion
Feeding your dog high-quality food doesn't have to break the bank. By understanding your dog’s nutritional needs, comparing brands and ingredients, buying in bulk, and taking advantage of discounts, you can find affordable options that keep your furry friend healthy and happy. Always consult with your veterinarian before making significant changes to your dog’s diet to ensure their nutritional needs are met.

ITS ALL WRONG
Started day early to catch the bus to Saranda. I purchased tickets online for 20 euros so we were good to go.
A “To go” breakfast was waiting for us. Sadly disappointed since this will be our only food for many many hours. Water, packs of cookies, packs of rosemary breadsticks, a peach, a persimmon, a soggy spinach pie slice wrapped in foil, and a box of cherry juice with straw. This seemed like the wrong type of breakfast compared to all the delicious tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggs we’ve been getting for breakfast. So guess who got most of our breakfast? The stray dogs in the parking lot of course.
Caroline dropped us at the bus terminal and when we got out of the car the men were yelling at us “where to where to”and we told them they directed us to a van. We put our luggage on and we claimed our seats. Jammed in the van. We takeoff on time for a four hour ride to Saranda, Albania. Two hours in, after picking up more passengers and having them sitting on stools, we arrived at our rest area. This is where the bus driver gets off and checks tickets and people can go to the bathroom. Of course we were on the WRONG VAN/bus. this one cost €10 instead of 20. it may have even been less than that. Very unclear. A lot of yelling and confusion and me looking innocent. When one helpful Albanian man said don’t worry about it. Then apparently he called the bus station and came and found us and said don’t worry about it. It’s fine. One potential disaster averted. Wrong bus!
How cool… the bus pulled over to the side of the road we heard all this zooming and dozens and dozens of race cars zoomed by. I managed to get some pictures. And from analyzing the pictures, we discovered it was a road race from Athens, Greece to Monaco. All different kinds of fast cars and colors kept zooming by us on curves and straightaways. Kept our attention for a good hour on the van. 6 to 6 European tour.
Arrived in Saranda a bit queasy. Got our luggage and walked down the hill to our hotel to check in. Having trouble checking in thinking it’s a language barrier. Waiting waiting, waiting waiting then we found out we were checking into the WRONG HOTEL. This was actually a relief because the hotel we were at was a bit sketchy. Went next-door to the hotel we were supposed to be at checked in. Very small room smaller bathroom than the night before. Nice view. Clean room. And great restaurant. We went and had lunch down the street walk walk, walk along the shore. And decided to go swimming.
Ionian Sea! We found this cool beach area that we walked down to. It had swimming ladders down into a deep blue sea area. See the photos. Of course I’m calling it “the hole”. We swam out, floated around refreshed and took our glamour shots on the shore.
Walked back, showered off and met Andrew for dinner! The strange thing is as we were going on our lunch hunt we saw Andrew walking down the sidewalk. In this huge town, how random is it that we would run into him? Then as I was telling Julie a story about this woman on Facebook that I was supposed to meet up with in Shkoder, there she was on the beach! She is from this Facebook group called female solo travelers over 50. She was going to meet carolyn and I for dinner five towns ago. Then Caroline and I randomly ran into her in another town and recognized her. Then I recognized her here. Very strange.
Dinner with Andrew was fantastic and we all really had a fun time. We kept him out way past his bedtime of 9 o’clock. Delicious grilled vegetables, whole fish, and homemade pasta.🍷🍷
And a Chimi Changa check in! They have been partying!
I really love this beach town!!!
