so, i've been watching jessica jones. literally started it today, and this specific scene in jessica jones is so incredibly important to me despite it only being a few seconds long, i really wanted to share my thoughts on it. the subtle way they were able to fit an accurate representation of ableism into a scene that is completely unrelated to it is actually so incredibly astonishing, the way the lines are delivered and the way the words are expressed. even the way jessica says "the mentally challenged" is so important to me as a disabled person myself. i don't see these types of representations or topics ever talked about in media if at all, and marvel was able to include them in an unlikely situation that doesn't tie back to ableism in that moment and at the same time was able to dismiss it and disprove it and just express why this type of radical ableism can affect every person who is different than the average. ableism is so rooted and it's so important to me when any media is able to acknowledge it. i send a huge thanks to whoever wrote this scene you are in my heart

Ya'll can we talk about how Auron is literally the male equivalent of the Office Siren? No, I don't mean like "Oh he's similar to Mr. Grey!". No we gotta talk about how much he radiates such strong feminine energy that it goes crazy. He's similar to Faust in a way if you get where I'm poking at? Like Faust has this strong, iconic feminine energy to the point that I want his goddamn gender.

In short, I wanna see Auron in a more feminine light. Similar to Alphonse & Faust. WE NEED TALK ABOUT HOW ABSOLUTELY GENDER AURON IS IF WE THINK ABOUT IT HE'S SUCH A DIVA-

[chemistry] it's not a word that actors [use]. but you must endeavor a little bit to try and fall in love, in whatever that capacity is. and andrew is a very easy person to fall in love with. he's kind, generous, talented. we shot the film at the perfect junction in our friendship where there was a lot we didn't know about each other, but there was mutual admiration and respect. and a similar sense of humor. (...) yeah, it felt fizzy when we were acting. especially with that first scene at the door -- it's so well-written. you feel like you're dancing through the scene, you can go in loads of different ways, and if i went one way, andrew would go another. if that's what chemistry is, i was aware it was happening.

Dune x Avatar the Last Airbender crossover that absolutely no one asked for

Paul Atreides : in this AU, Paul is the Avatar instead of the Kwisach Haderack. Fire Avatar before Yangchen. At age 17, he's already been trained in firebending by Gurney Haddock, waterbending by Duncan Idaho, and airbending by Thufir Hawat.

The four nations are at a time of peace united under the Earth Kingdom Emperor Shaddam. Duke Leto (Paul's father) owns the Caladan fiefdom, which is a group of volcanic islands (which will one day be called the Fire Nation). Like in Dune, Leto is given the land Arrakis, which is a desert area filled with spice.

Spice, in this crossover, grants mortals heightened spiritual awareness. Humans can see and even talk to spirits. The Fremen, a tribe of desert sandbenders, use the spice for many religious purposes. They live in catacombs under the sands of Arrakis. They are very proud the spice. The Harkonnens have had charge over the spice production for generations, until the Emperor stationed Duke Leto Atreides over it.

In an extremely oversimplified way of putting it, things then play out along the storyline of Dune. Some differences, however, are that Jessica (Paul's mother) is a Fire Sage instead of a Bene Gesserit. Chani becomes Paul's sandbending/earthbending teacher. Alina, still strange because of overexposure to spice, is closer to an Azula figure. Her fire is white and causes damage to spirits instead of physical damage.

Due to corrupt intentions of the sandbenders, the murder of Jessica, and Paul's growing instability, he and Alina wipe out many of the Fremen, destroy the Harkonnens, and unite remnants of their late father's fief into the Fire Nation.

Avatar Paul Muad'dib Atreides becomes the first Fire Lord of the Fire Nation.

If anyone actually wants me to write this out with more detail, I absolutely will. However until that request comes, I'm not going to recount the entirety of Dune on a whim.

Honestly I wish people would use the silver eyes cast a lot more in their fics or AU’s but that’s unlikely to happen as everyone is just focused on the Afton’s and not other parts of the series.
