google search is unusable... now reddit is getting unusable..... how can it be so ridiculously hard to find proper info on something semi-specific in the fucking. age of the information.

Honestly, with what you say about Sombron and the religion around him... Combined with some spoilers, I wonder if he's a case of "he wasn't always AS bad, even if he was still BAD." :|a Might have to explore this more myself. It would explain the weird discrepancy between his religion and him combined with his vileness being lost to time and where the hell the bits we do see came from.
I will say it does strike me as "interesting" that we never hear about Zelkov or Hortensia RE: religion, same with some other characters. I'd presume they also partake in the religion because it's never said otherwise...
Anon I would absolutely love to hear your findings if you do decide to explore further. 👀✨
But from what I've noticed, Engage didn't really put a lot of work into actually developing the faiths that seem to have such a large part in the game. It's not just the Elusian faith, either: we know that the Divine Dragons are worshiped throughout most of Elyos but...that only seems to go as far as Alear being subjected to the reverence of the people they meet. We don't know what the faith itself says or holds as virtues. We just know that it's a religion based around the Divine Dragons, and that Lumera and Alear are the last. This might be alleviated by getting more Supports (I've been trying to get Corrin's Support skill on everyone, that's how much I'm struggling) or by getting into those last chapters of the story, but...it honestly wouldn't be that surprising if that is the sum and total of it.
Fire Emblem games, at least in my limited experience, don't go a lot into the details of their religions, preferring to portray them in broad strokes (which really helps with things like vilifying an entire group of people). I think Three Houses is the most depth we've ever gotten on a religious system in Fire Emblem -- even Libra, who is literally a priest, goes into only the vaguest of details about it (its teachings are meant to help guide people in their lives, there's a ritual dance, and Cherche considering Minerva her family somehow "embodies the word of the faith"). It's not necessary to the story they want to tell, so they just don't bother with it -- which is fine, to some extent, but sure leaves a gaping void when you actually try to think about some of this.

(reckless impulsivity) Are Miguel's creepier / violent spider instincts actually canon anywhere, or are they just a chewy bit of headcanon? I really like whenever they show up in your fics, like the scene where Gabriel talks to a drunk Miguel hanging from the ceiling.
canon hints at the possibility maybe once or twice, but otherwise it's all my own hc(s)! i continue to hope and dream and pray for More substantial Spidery 'Guel Stuff in the future, tho 💞💞
