Spider-Slugs have some new refs!

Let’s quickly go over a brief summary of each!

Miles Mollusca - Young and outgoing, he was attacked by a coalescipede, headed by a genetically altered one while adventuring down in the darker tunnels of the surface with his uncle. His attack and near death down there created a rift in an already rocky family relationship. He developed the standard spider-slug powers with some additions:

Miles can complete a circuit loop similarly to a centipede and electrocute a creature. This also allows him to charge electric spears independently. Handy! He’s in turn, immune to smaller shocks from Jellyfish and small centipedes.

Like a white lizard, he can camouflage and fade into his surroundings. If he gets hurt, the saturated areas on his body will rapidly flash different colors.

Gwen Slugcy - Gwen hails from a foreign slugcat colony that was overrun with vultures. Forced to make a trek to a new territory, Gwen was nearly taken by a Wolf Spider, saving herself only with a resourceful rock throw.

Gwen can extend and retract urticating hairs on her back, which she frequently utilizes in combat to get an edge on her opponents.

Gwen can also utilize a venomous bite similar to a normal Wolf Spider to incapacitate her prey. She hasn’t quite yet learned how to do that weird resuscitation thing, though.

Independent of her abilities, Gwen’s subspecies of slugcat naturally has a hoodlike pouch on the backs of their necks. This pouch is typically used for carrying young, extra food, or keeping the sun out of their eyes, as it can be pulled over their head with little difficulty.

Miguel O’ Helicoidea - Also known as ‘Specimen-2099’, Miguel originates from an iterator can that took notice of the original Spider-Slug and aimed to create a more effective and lethal version. Miguel is, as his Specimen indicator implies, the 2099th subject, and the first to be considered successful in incubation. He emerged utterly disgusted and displeased with his existence- and exacted revenge on the iterator by severing its puppet from its can. He journeyed away with two survivors, which quickly dropped to one survivor.

Miguel is the only Spider-Slug to lack a bite mark, as he was genetically engineered with his abilities.

His urticating hairs cannot be retracted, and itch worse than any natural spider’s.

Miguel’s normal, neon appearance isn’t just for show. When he is not shifted into his other appearance, his skin secretes a horribly poisonous mucus.

On top of this, Miguel bears venom in both his fangs and claws, which cause muscle atrophy.

i rly struggle with how sadala must work bc like ok and i know this is me flagrantly mixing canons together i dont care. whatever. so like caulifla's gang... in the manga it is in control of a Sizeable territory that not even a royal-affiliated cargo ship is even supposed to enter. this implies to me that caulifla is either so powerful that no one can stop her, or that she's not seen as a large concern by the sadalan government- potentially a little of both

also in the manga they are shown like, giving food to little kids??? which i guess means they're robin hoodlike figures who steal for the poor, but this just makes me question the existence of poverty on sadala and what causes it. it's supposed to be "good saiyan world" yet obviously there is injustice within it that requires an awesome girlgang to remedy it.

the saiyans in universe 6 apparently "fight evil" according to cabba which makes me believe they're wrapped up in the whole frost humanitarian planet defense organization. now there could certainly be sinister implications if we go by the anime where frost is evil, but for some reason in the manga he genuinely isn't evil, so ?? point being are they so focused on being the intergalactic peace corps that they neglect addressing structural inequalities on their home planet???? does poverty exist on sadala to encourage enlistment? i got a quote from the awful fandom wikia that caulifla's gang is made up of "lost" saiyans- what makes a saiyan "lost"??? are they rejected by society for some kind of transgression? they're presented as noble in the manga, while the anime does jack shit to explain almost anything about them and they are basically a totally different organization. how did caulifla decide to become an unbeatable crimeboss who steals from the rich and gives to the poor? what inspired this? ESPECIALLY considering her brother was a captain in the sadalan army... there is some juicy sibling relationship drama somewhere in there

Star Wars Alien Species - Sluissi

The Sluissi are the indigenous sentient species of the planet Sluis Van, located in the Outer Rim Territories. Sluis Van was discovered by Human and Duros explorers, during the Subterra Period.

The Sluissi were long supporters of the Galactic Republic, with Sluis Van being home to a vital network of Republic shipyards that were destroyed by the Sith during the Great Galactic War. Millennia later, during the final years of the Republic, they became disgusted with the Galactic Senate whom they blamed as being massively corrupt and causing galaxy-wide injustice.

During the Clone Wars, Sluis Van was located in Separatist space and the Sluis Van shipyards produced starships for the Confederate forces. However, in 20 BBY, the system was blockaded by a massive Separatist fleet to block any Republic reinforcements in the area, particularly during the Battle of Praesitlyn. At the end of the Clone Wars, the Sluis Van system had become a Separatist stronghold. As well as many other Confederate worlds, it was besieged by Republic forces during the Outer Rim Sieges. Sluis Van held off the Republic. However, the civilians didn't fare well, as mass-starvation broke out on the planet as a result of the Outer Rim Sieges.

During the Imperial Period, Sluis Van was a major Imperial shipyard and was heavily guarded. By 4 ABY, the planet had become an Imperial fortress world under control of Superior General Sander Delvardus. Sluis Van was liberated by the New Republic in 5 ABY. Despite the Sluis Van Congregate not wanting to cut all connections to the Empire, being as it was one of their largest shipyard clients, the planet joined the New Republic several months after the death of Emperor Palpatine. During the Thrawn campaign, the Sluis Van Shipyards were one of the main shipyards of the New Republic. The planet was the site of a battle with Grand Admiral Thrawn during his campaign against the New Republic. He attacked 112 stripped-down warships docked over the planet, attempting to capture some of them. Although he failed, Thrawn's forces managed to leave over 40 of the vessels with inoperable control systems.

During the Yuuzhan Vong War, the world and its shipyards were crucial to keeping the New Republic supplied with new warships. Following the loss of Fondor, additional units of the New Republic Navy, including several carriers, were deployed to the region for added protection, when Sluis Van took over Fondor's operations. Sluis Van went on to be a key world in the Galactic Alliance. During the Second Galactic Civil War, it was feared that its shipyards would be a target for the forces of the newly formed Confederation. By 137 ABY, the New Galactic Empire under the control of the One Sith had seized control of Sluis Van. Despite this, the Galactic Alliance Remnant stayed influent on the planet and in the region.

Sluissi, patient, sociable, relaxed, and easy-going beings,famous for remaining calm under pressure. Their patient, calm nature—combined with their seeming inability to become genuinely upset or angry—often baffled, and sometimes even infuriated other species. Extremely industrious, Sluissi love to tinker with technology and mechanical objects, and Sluissi technicians were able to improve the engine efficiency, power output and system response in even archaic, worn out ships.

The Sluissi were extremely methodical, and worked extremely slowly. To them, starship construction was an art form. Although jobs done by Sluissi always took longer than expected, most clients were willing to be patient, because Sluissi technicians could make improvements upon or salvage vessels when no other mechanics could. Even the Empire realized that rushing a Sluissi operation was a bad idea.

Sluissi's upper torsos were similar to a human's, with two arms, each with four-fingered hands. Their fourth finger was an opposable digit. Their arms had almost winglike extensions of skin, which aided their movement while they were flat on the ground. he bottom half of their body was similar to a snake's, with a long, heavily muscled, singular tail. Their bodies were covered in fine scales which ranged in color from light brown to dark green. Other colored scales on Sluissi were not unheard of, however they were quite rare. Sluissi had round black eyes and a swooping, hoodlike fold of tough skin at the back of their heads. They had forked tongues that aided their sense of smell.

A typical Sluissi stands at 1.7 meters or 5.6 feet tall and weighs 60 kilograms or 132 pounds.

9 - 14 Young Adult

15 - 39 Adult

40 - 59 Middle Age

60 - 75 Old

Examples of Names: Hass Sonax, Mektiss Risohr, Secles Uslopos, Sekae N'sehnor, Sirlahn Alsek, Ten Dorne, Usahn L'sehl, Vsil Ejahsa.

Languages: Sluissi speak Sluissese. They also speak Basic, although they tend to lisp and slur many words due to the snakelike structures of their tongues and mouth.

Still a little damp, but my neon-less Neon Ski Bonnet (pattern by @volkstricken ) is done! I opted for the largest size since I tend to prefer hoods and hoodlike head covers, but next time I make this I’ll probably knit my actual size so as to achieve the intended fit. Hi, my Corny keeps bringing up how my hair looks like a King's hood (and now won't stop calling me Queenie) But its led to me to wonder how the Kings would react to my poofy brown hair?

*A King would find your poofy hair to be very regal and impressive. It would remind them of their hoods. Though the hoods flare automatically from fear or a possible threat, the Kings do slow hood flares to show respect to to show off their “span” and markings. They would enjoy the fact that your “hood” is always prominently displayed.

*Be careful of your Corny though. I wouldn’t be suprised if he got his little hands on some Extra Strength Hair Gel and sculpted your hair into a more hoodlike shape as a prank.

I have a lot if Blairmon headcanons popping up today and I don’t know why:

-The wing like objects on her waist are in fact actually wings. They’re made of cloth and magically infused in to her back. They’re part of her spell ability to turn in to a raven. Incidentally, the deer horns on her head are also attached to her head and act as a spell focus to turn in to her deer form. They do not look like natural parts of her body, but act and are attached as if they should be.

-The wings turn in to the white split cloaks of Morrigumon upon Evolution. The hoodlike headdress of Morrigumon hides she has lost the horns however. Becoming a new individual being in herself from the remnants of Hartmon.

- Like Necromamon she can slip parts of herself away back in to another plain and disguise her face. However she tends to show her true face predominantly, and the mask she uses only consists of her green glowing pupils and a sharp, toothy maw that she uses to frighten and intimidate.

-Her voice claim is Moira from Overwatch.))

Today, after snapping a few blooms, I started noticing little curls in the petals and decided to focus on those with some abstract photos.
