work i’m most proud of and why: i'm proud of almost all of the work i put out this year, and there are a couple ones that immediately spring to mind, but i'm going to really come out of left field here and say Being Hannah Abbott! "but megs," you might say, "why on earth would you pick the only fic that has zero kudos? it's definitely not your best written work of the year." to which i say, true! however, i have been trying to get this fic right since 10th grade! i'm now a senior in college! "but megs it's significantly less than 1k how did it take you that long" listen! listen. sometimes. you have to wait until you're good enough to finish a fic. this has more than 5 docs of different drafts saved to my laptop. also you're forgetting the fact that i'm insane

work i’m least proud of and why: okay listen. i know it's my most kudos'd work. i know that. however i am not happy with burnt eggs and broken promises. bella left me a lovely long comment on it recently that made me rethink my feelings towards it but i still think it isn't as good as it could have been so sorry folks

share or describe a favorite review you’ve received: i love it when people tell me i made them cry it's my favorite thing in the whole world best compliment to receive imo

a time when writing was really, really hard: you're assuming i remember what i was experiencing earlier in 2022 which is where you've made your mistake slkdjflskdjf ummmm i remember have a really hard time this fall semester, especially in september/october, i just couldn't get any motivation whatsoever (which tends to be my biggest problem tbh)

a scene or character you wrote who surprised you: goood question,,, you know, i really wasn't expecting to ever write a mcu au and yet pining is a strange sort of mcu au. i originally was going to write it so one half of the pairing got lost at sea and their bf was waiting on shore not sure if they were dead or alive, but the characters did not want to be like that at all which is how i ended up with poor post-snap calum (who may be getting a happy sequel someday shhh)

a favorite excerpt of your writing: i love the transformation scene in fear the fever. i just love writing body horror for some reason and i've always had strong opinions about what i think vampires & their transformations are like physically and it was a blast to get to explore that in this fic :))

how did you grow as a writer this year? i think a lot of my growth happens slowly over time and therefore is hard to pinpoint, but i took a creative writing class in the spring on opening a novel and that helped me rethink the way i start fics now. also i learned to think more about what i want out of my fic! thinking about why i write and why i post fic really helped me realize what fic writing advice to take and what to ignore (if you're like me and the goal of a fic is to write the concept the best you can, than posts talking about how it's okay to post random, unedited snippets are not actually helpful and can actually be counter-intuitive)

how do you hope to grow next year? i really want to write more often and be more disciplined about writing. as always i want to learn how to be better in the craft aspect in general (which is a goal i expect to always have, since i'll never be perfect at it) and i'd also like to be better with subtext & symbolism & ~themes~ bc i always forget to those last two and my subtext is, in my opinion, rather lacking at the moment

who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc)? bella is the best live-in cheerleader/rubber duck a writer could ask for, and i would be royally screwed without her 💙 hazel is always an incredible virtual cheerleader/ideas bouncer and i am dearly in her debt, and meghna is wonderful for fueling my wacky ideas-mobile; i am incredibly lucky that they're just a discord dm away 🥰 also she's 100% not going to see this but my mom finished her mfa program this year and has been working on finishing her novel, and writing with her and talking shop together has been very helpful in keeping me at the keyboard and with more thematically technical details (little does she know it's for my rfp fanfic lol)

anything from real life show up in your writing this year? yep! lots! keep you safe (safe as i can), an hp fic, reflects some of my worries about my little bro growing up; Questions Involving Vampires & Skirts, while not reflective of my own gender, does reflect some of my weird gender-y fuckery; just dance (gonna be okay)'s michael shares my feelings regarding dancing in empty elevators; do you wanna touch (yeah) is inspired by me visiting a craft store with my fam and touching basically everything in the store; permanent jet lag is based off of flying international with my baby bro who is Very Tall; & glasses is based off of my truly awful eyesight and how i still feel like if i have my glasses off people can't perceive me lol (yes you heard it here first folks, megs has the object permanence of a toddler)

any new wisdom you can share with other writers? write! have fun with it! go to irl critique groups if possible! don't expect things to be perfect on the first draft, because most people's first drafts are shit and that's okay! challenge yourself! don't be afraid to embrace the cringe! it's okay to settle unless it's gonna make you miserable! eat your writing frogs! don't be afraid to ask for help! get a rubber duck!

any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year? i really want to finish tis the damn fic. i'd love for it to be ready to post by december. i'm kneeling at my prefrontal cortex begging it to get its shit together enough to finish it. i'd also love to finally finish my another place songfic bc that will mean my writing's reached the level where i can actually figure out how to write the dang thing which is the dream

okso i headcanon lily as being asexual right orr at least somewhat aspec. and if that is the case then theo already sort of understands it even before you tell him

literally nothing changes!! the relationship is the exact same LMAO. he's the most chivalrous guy around–of course nothing is going to change. he still serenades you and takes you out on his boat and loves you like nothing else in the world.

KIDDING but yeah he's pretty unfamiliar with it. he's a little confused at first but he's totally respectful about it–maybe the two of you sit down and he asks a few questions so that he can make sure that he understands

when he does understand, you're a little worried that he will have some sort of problem with it. pablo is known for being a romantic, after all, and he's not exactly shy about intimacy. but you'd be wrong! he doesn't have a problem with it at all. maybe it's an adjustment to his mindset at first, but at the end of the day he treats it the same as he would treat any other boundary. if you tell him that you're not interested, then he won't ever even dream of pushing

if anything, he's a little concerned if he's ever overstepprd by accident. he's definitely relieved if you tell him he hasn't

besides, he loves you for more than your body. sure he thinks you're attractive–i mean, he literally introduces himself alongside calling you cute. but as he's gotten to know you, he loves so much more than that. he loves your mind and your sense of humor and your wit–he loves the smile on your face when you tell him about something you like, he loves the sound of your voice. you're one of the best things to ever happen to him. why would it matter to him if sex is off the table, so long as he gets to keep you in his life?

Rafael

literally as soon as you tell him he just pulls you into a hug like “thank you for trusting me enough to tell me”

he's a little emotional about you trusting to tell him, and he asks a few questions just to make sure he understands everything alright. he's totally fine with it when you get into a relationship, though! he would never dream of initiating anything sexual without explicit interest on both sides, anyway, and he has no interest in pushing you into anything you're not comfortable with. i mean, this guy probably takes ages to even get comfortable /hugging/ you without having to triple check that you're cool with it–he’s not gonna have a problem here lol

he's much happier just laying in bed reading together anyway

overall relationship is the same, just as sweet as ever <3

he could not care less!!

to be clear, he's totally respectful of your preferences and your boundaries. if you aren't into sex, then that's fine by him. he's attracted to you for more than that–he loves being around you, he loves talking to you, he loves surprising each other with gifts or spending afternoons tending the animals together or dining by the lake. he wouldn't ever even dream about pressuring you into sleeping together anyway, so if you tell him that you're asexual, that won't change anything.

to be honest, i also headcanon kenny as ace or at least aspec, so to a degree he also just understands how you feel!

really, nothing will change in how you guys are. the only difference is that now he knows. he still just as sweet and affectionate as ever :)

Sick Farmer

theo gives me the vibes of someone who would have some weird family remedy for every sickness that he swears by even if it's the strangest thing. so he's definitely going to show up at your house like “listen farmer i know this sounds crazy but i swear it works–”

nine times out of ten it does not work

but it's the thought that counts <3

he isn't afraid of getting sick since he's got a rock solid immune system, so he's definitely coming over to spend time with you. he makes you fresh food, he cuddles with you, the whole nine yards.

PLUS he'll serenade you. 100% he's serenading you. who needs spotify, you've got this guy hanging around your house willing to play you whatever you want at a moment’s notice

he's the kind of guy that's gonna get nervous every time you cough too hard though, so you better believe he's keeping you medicine stocked and probably crashing at your place at least a few nights out of the time you're sick. you've gotta chase him out with a broom to get him to stop worrying about you

Pablo

ok as ive said before pablo is the best at taking care of loved ones when he's sick

he's had tons of practice being an older brother, after all! especially because he is the one who gets other people sick 99% of the time since he refuses to rest or stop his daily activities when he's sick lol

he will definitely insist that /you/ rest, though. he'll get rafael to cover the shop for him and he'll come over to spend the day at the farm with you. he's kind of clueless at agriculture but yk he'll do his best to get some chores done for you so that you aren't stressing. he will pretty much force you to stay in bed or at least off your feet, so if he has to gather some vegetables or feed a few animals to get you to relax then he'll do it

he cannot cook to save his life so unfortunately you're just getting microwaveable chicken soup, but it's the thought that counts

he has no fear of getting sick so he'll probably insist on spending the day cuddling and watching reruns of your favorite shows

he's definitely catching whatever you have though, and you're gonna have to return the favor to him in a week lmao

Rafael

he's very good at recognizing when people are sick–he lives with pablo after all, and pablo is the king of denial when he's sick–so he probably notices you're coming down with something before you do.

he's straight to mother hen mode. bedrest and blankets, checking your temperature, making you homemade soup–the whole nine yards. he'll get pablo to run the shop for a little while so that he can come down and hang out with you. he'll show up with an armful of his favorite old horror movies to show you, plus a few books the two of you can read. being as introverted as he is he's perfectly content to come up with stuff that the two of you can do without putting any strain on you.

he gives me the vibes of someone who is very good when it comes to sick food. he's always got something warm waiting for you when you get hungry! soup or cookies or whatever. and if you're like stomach sick then he's more than happy to buy you all the crackers and ginger ale you could eat

he's also perfectly happy to let you sleep, whether that means going out to run errands for you or just getting housework done for you

he'll probably cave and let you cuddle with him, even if he really doesn't want to get sick lol. if he does catch it, he's a good sport about it though

Kenny

ok he's both the best and also the worst when you're sick

he's bummed for you because he knows how much /he/ hates being sick–it takes him away from everything that he enjoys and makes him miserable every time. he's also bummed that he has no company for his time outside every day

so while he does feel sorry for you, he does /not/ want to risk catching whatever you've got. and you don't want to give it to him, considering how miserable he gets whenever he has so much as a cold. suffice to say no sick cuddles with him lol

he'll definitely come by the farm every day and handle your chores. this guy grew up on a ranch; how different can farming be? your animals are definitely getting spoiled by him for as long as you're sick, and even a little after, though that's nothing new. he also handles all of the planting, the harvesting, the watering, the shipping–whatever you need done! you crack your window and chat with him while he works. he definitely won't let you come out to help, but he's happy to talk and keep you company even if it's from outside

he'll also bring you food :) and probably other little treats too, because he feels bad not being able to be affectionate with you

Ok so I have a fic request if you’re interested! Basically Changbin is already really fat, and he’s with someone (whoever in skz you want it to be), and so his own lazy habits rub off on them, and they start eating more too. The person is in denial of their weight gain at first, especially as they’re skinnier than Changbin. Eventually though, they like getting fatter, especially as Changbin appreciates both of their growing bellies.

I think the last time I wrote so fast for a fic was a long time ago.

So for the pairing i go for a Seungbin because I think it's an underestimated pairing but above all it's my favorite 😌

ARE YOU HUNGRY ?

- "Hyung ... that's a lot of food isn't it?" Asked then Seungmin confused

- "What do you mean? I barely ordered a bit more than usual"

If "a bit more than usual" meant a dozen takeaway bags full of fast food instead of eight bags then yes it was more than usual.

-Hyung you know it's not healthy, I don't care what you do with your health but don't complain if you can't get out of bed without me" teased then the puppy like before sitting down next to him.

Changbin chuckled before putting his arm around his alant's shoulders and adding "You always say that, but you'd really like to see me at your mercy".

-"I just love your curves hyung that's different" he said without showing indifference while his hands they rested on his imposing belly to rub it

-"I'm sorry but this is more than curve" he interrupted him amused

-"What ? So you want me to say how much i love your fat ? You want to hear me saying how it drives me crazy hm ?"finally retorted the puppy with a smirk before snatching a languorous kiss from his lover

So as their Netflix and chill night was about to begin!

Oh, but let's introduce you to the couple.

On one side, Kim Seungmin works for a finance company. With his sarcastic nature and dark humor, he hid his devilish side behind his cute puppy dog looks that made everyone fall over. and he's also the number one fan of Changbin's body since day 1

He was of average height and very slim, so slim that you'd be thinking he was a model!

On the other side, Seo Changbin, his boyfriend of over 6 months, music producer for the JYP label and member of the trio 3RACHA who co-produced various music together, was his opposite, he might look imposing and frightening from the outside, but deep down he was a a melting marshmallow who could barely be spoken to.

Compared to Seungmin, he was small but above all big... really big! It was said that he should weigh between 130 and 150 kilos, but the brunette wasn't used to weighing himself. He was confident in his own body and love so much food to compromise

As you can see, Changbin was fat from a very early age, the son of a very well-to-do family. As he grew older, his love of food intensified, and so did his waistline, reaching the stage where he was now.

Their first meeting was something really special! it's was in a supermarket around 10 p.m , Seungmin was in a hurry and Changbin was tired, but as soon as they crossed each other's paths they lit up.

And it went on until now! They'd just moved in together, and although they'd have to get used to the routine of the other , it was such a pleasant feeling to live under the same roof as your lover.

and then over time they will be able to take on the other's habits for their own ...

- "Minnie? Why didn't you tell us we could have watched this movie together?" Changbin complained as Seungmin began to fall into one of his habits: hanging out when he had free time.

And it just so happened that the puppy had decided to do this on the day Changbin had to finish a music production and get to the agency, something he rarely did as he worked from home. So when the brunette saw her lover surrounded by empty snack packs, a pizza box on the edge of the table and an unfinished doughnut, he was only concerned that Seungmin was watching a film without him, even though they'd forbidden each other to do so.

-You don't like this kind of movie, so I didn't want to bother you with it" declared Seungmin, looking very concentrated on the screen in front of him.

- "I'd like to make an effort for my Minnie anyway" he declared as he scooped up some rubbish from the floor and slumped down beside his boyfriend.

-Ouch, don't push me too hard, I've got no more space afterwards".

The brunette simply giggled as she settled down to cuddle his lover and enjoy the film. Seungmin was right, he didn't like scary movies but he made an exeption just for clinging next to his boyfriend.

And moments like this began to happen quite often. Changbin, who found Seungmin to eat more , becaming lazier . He had always been an advocate of home cooking, and now found himself ordering food very often, claiming he wanted to spend more time with his boyfriend than cooking.

The reality? He'd become completely lazy! If it weren't for going to work, he'd spend his days in bed, cuddling Changbin and watching a movie in front of a fastfood meal.

But this new routine began to take its toll on him and his waistline...

You might say that eating so much junk food a day only made him fatter, yet he seemed not to notice how his belly was now resting on his knees, how his thighs had thickened and his hips widened! It was something he had to face every day when he had to put on his three-piece suit to go to work, but he just assumed that Changbin didn't know how to use the washing machine but didn't say anything because he didn't want his lover to take it the wrong way.

- "If your suit's too tight you can have mine, it doesn't fit anyway" Changbin declared before pinching his own belly, he too seemed to have put on weight recently but it was only an addition to his already large and massive body. Just like that, Seingmin began to wear Changbin's old costume without making any sense behind them, as if it were normal for him to go from size S to XL so quickly.

In fact, he was in a state of desilusion, and it wasn't as if the world was hiding from him that he was getting big! His desk chair squeaked loudly when he sat in it, his appetite had increased even morr, approaching that of his lover, and let's not even mention the talk of his colleagues on his back, because obviously no one was going to ask him directly how Kim Seungmin had turned into a whale in just a few months?

The answer? His boyfriend, whom he loved so much that he agreed to have another piece of cake, was the reason why he had to spend almost entire weekends watching movies and eating junk food. The answer? Love.

-"Binnie yah come help me my jean don't want to close" yell Seungmin from their bedroom while he was squirming to try to close the button of this pair of jeans (which incidentally belonged to Changbin at the time they met)

The brunette came waddling up to him rather quickly before coming to his side, breathing heavily as if those few smetres of avakt mzrches were hard on him and his big, fat body.

But as soon as he saw Seungmin wriggling into one of his old jeans, he couldn't help but giggle loudly, earning a dark look from Seungmin, who cried out "Yah, you're not helping me!

- "Sorry Minnie, but ... these pants definitely don't fit you, so stop insisting, I've got some others that might fit you".

But Seungmin persisted, for him it wasn't a question of size but of willpower. "It's your fault it shrunk in the washing machine" he then accused him before finally goving up , totally out of breath.Changbin took offence (or at least pretended to) and gave Seungmin a half-confused, half-amused look.

-"My fault? You forgot you did the laundry last week! Besides, I don't think the reason here is the jeans, but you".

- "So it's my fault ?!" The youngest then raged before sitting down on the bed, causing a tear on the back of his pants that made him blush violently while Changbin became even more amused.

-"Now admit it, Minnie, you've put on weight... and not just a little!" He said at last, grabbing the part of Seungmin's belly that was sticking out of his shirt.

-"How dare you say that? I've only had to gain a few kilos, it's no big deal!"

- "Just a few kilos? Jagi , these jeans were mine, I was wearing them when we met. Remember how fat I was even before?" Declared then the brunette with a more understanding tone although amused

Seungmin sighed to himself, he had to face the evidence, if he'd just rip a pair of jeans from Changbin, who was very fat, then he'd probably become very fat too .... although he like the idea, after all, it's not as if he was going to lose that weight by magic.

-"Hyung, I'm hungry, let's order some pizzas!" he declared as he got up, stroking his own tummy to coax Changbin (which worked because he couldn't stop staring intently).

But the brunette didn't try to understand, in this kind of moment words weren't enough, so he just said "What kind of pizza do you want?"

- "Minnie, that's a lot of food, I don't think we can manage to eat it all. .."

Seungmin turned to Changbin in disgust, when did the brunette refuse food now?

-"You're the one who told me you couldn't make up your mind, so I took it all, and if we don't eat it all, we'll have something left over later".

-"But it won't taste the same afterwards".

- "Let's make eat now then"

- "I'm going to start believing you eat so much to try and look like me."

- "Or I'll make you eat much as I do so that I look thin even next to you."

- "You'll never look thin with that body" he camebashing as he patted her bellybmasskf lying heavily on her thick thighs

Seungmin just laughed before kissing his lover and adding, "At least I always want to go through the front door!"

-"Only for the moment"

aftercare methods with sub!charles! 💯

away with the chilling ice tub and cryotherapy. charles doesn’t like the cold! a warm bubble bath is more like it. before he’ll attain his WDC eventually, at least he wears a foam crown: you’re lathering up the lavender shampoo on him like there’s no tomorrow. it makes charles burst into laughter, he’s kicking his feet, it's so adorable. a nose boop on top — happy sub, happy life. drying off, you both sleep soundly afterwards.

to amp up the protection factor and extra warmth, of course you bought a heated aftercare blanket and red fluffy socks for his birthday. anything to spoil your little one, he deserves and needs to feel safe.

since you recently got one: playing with your pet dog!

after handing him a glass of water: lots of revitalizing nutrients in bananas, why not feed him one? very on brand. 😆

for times when you play in the living room: because he’s so interested in architecture and art, his domme simply putting on a documentary is just right. watching and commenting together is calming and educational instead of putting on dull tv noises in the background. charles has a tendency to insist watching what you like, so you just do both.

you most definitely prepared a specific music playlist for days when you just wanna lay there and do nothing. not moving a singular inch, just breathing, giving him forehead kisses. 

charles has a fondness for being buried in your chest. need i say more? he won’t suffocate, don’t worry. he might be sweet, but he’s not made of cotton candy. the man’s job literally consists of holding his breath in every 6G turn… a little TLC beyond the light of day won’t hurt him ;)

piling on the compliments. sincere ones! charles’ eternal praise kink needs refreshing after he’s fucked-out and tired. it’s not like you’d ever run out of nice things to say about him, anyway. it comes naturally. you love him so. fucking. much ❤️

checking random text messages from friends. this might not sound romantic, but it’s fun! charles likes himself some humor. and you won’t do it for long, sex is usually a no-phone activity. for privacy and focus.

applying lotion on him. you are looking respectfully.

pillow fort: he already thinks of his car as a nest. why couldn’t your bed be, too?

whenever you get even the slightest dom drop, he will notice and hurry to reassure you, hold you, give you personal attention, make you food. for energy and a mood boost. chef leclerc slowly became a master of the italian cuisine during the course of your relationship. expect the crispiest pizza dough and world class penne. if it’s december? he’ll bake you a fucking panettone! italian culture is so important in your household, you love it.

holding hands and snuggling, just napping endlessly while curled together. as you said: he’s particular about touching. but his domme can do whatever she wants! it’s ridiculous, you sleep so well with your face in his hair.

I… once again I would like you to know that I would die for you. This is immaculate. Incredible. 11/10.

Aftercare with Charles can take on many different forms, and I think that’s because he tends to need a lot of aftercare for a long time? He’s not gonna be fine after twenty minutes of cuddles and a quick bath.

Of course he needs those cuddles immediately after a scene and then to he held in the bath when you clean him up. But he needs more than that. He’s gonna be needy and subby for the rest of the day, sometimes even into the next day.

When you’re with him during this time then he’s the happiest little thing ever. He’s all soft and subby, plaint against you and happy to be with you. He can even manage to go outside just fine, as long as he can hold your hand the whole time.

I think that he has a very specific schedule for the first hour or so after a scene? His little mind is completely offline then and he needs to do very familiar things, needs to be able to predict what’s going to happen.

First, he gets about twenty minutes of cuddles immediately, and I mean immediately. You can’t first wipe the cum off him or put the toys away. It’s cuddles immediately. Yes you’ll end up getting covered in his sweat and cum but he’s your good boy and he deserves it.

Then it’s time for a bath. The lavender bubble bath is a must and is only used after scenes. He can smell it from the bedroom while you run the bath and he just smiles to himself, feeling so warm and safe cause now he’s gonna have a bath with you!!

At first it’s very soft, just holding him in the bath and cleaning him up. When he relaxes into your arms, a big smile on his face, then it’s time to have fun!! Time to boop his nose and time to make him a crown out of bubbles. Of course you dry him off afterwards, making sure he doesn’t have to lift a finger.

He also doesn’t have to lift a finger while you clean up. You put him on the comfy armchair in the bedroom (it’s your reading chair and his aftercare chair, no one else uses it), and fetch him his special blanket and fuzzy socks. He’s literally completely naked wrapped in his blanket and then his fuzzy socks. You don’t know why that’s what he likes, but does.

He’s in his happy blanket cocoon while you change the sheets and clean the toys and whatnot. He eats his snack and drinks his water from the chair too. He stands up for all two seconds so that you can sit down and then plops down on your lap, eating from your hand and sucking from the straw of the glass you’re holding.

Once he’s finished eating, he’s done with the more structured part of his aftercare. He’s comfy and safe and warm and now he doesn’t need to do the same thing every time. Now you can change it up.

And you do, all the time. Charles is always happy to just be with you, pleased with whatever you decide to do.

Sometimes it’s laying in bed and listening to a playlist, usually with his head on your chest. He’s very happy there, nice and safe (and naked except for his fuzzy socks). You sometimes listen to the playlist two or three times, just laying there.

I think he’ll often ask you to talk? He doesn’t have any particular topic in mind. He just wants to hear your voice, so you just tell him about your day, about plans, make up random stories, whatever. You don’t even have to speak in a language he understands to be honest. He just wants to hear your voice. If you’re studying, you could literally just say your coursework out loud. It’s your voice so he’s happy.

Sometimes, if you don’t feel like talking, you’ll take him to the living room to watch a documentary. You always ask him if he wants to pick. If he does say yes, he’ll almost always pick an architecture documentary. Sometimes he’ll tell you to choose something and then you’ll pick something random.

He doesn’t say much for the first half an hour of the documentary, and then he’ll slowly start to speak. First he just mumbles things like “that’s pretty…” or “don’t like that…” “what’s gonna happen?” You always kiss his hair when he speaks, making sure to respond to him to help him slowly come back up from subspace. By the end of the documentary, he’s making comments the entire time.

I love the idea of checking messages? I think that’s mostly done towards the end, when he’s pretty good but still too subby to answer his own messages. He’ll come cuddle under your arm, handing you his phone (you know his password by the way, you know all his passwords, he likes that you know) and then you two go through and answer some people. It’s calming when you’re there, and it’s relieving to have all his messages answered.

I also love the idea of putting lotion on him? You’ll often do that after the bath, asking if he’d like some lotion and he almost always agrees. Mostly because he knows it means he’ll get loads of kisses and cuddles.

He’s got the dumbest little smile on his face as you rub the lotion onto his skin. He’s so happy there.

He also insists on putting lotion on you by the way. Don’t even think about saying no. He will cry if he thinks you’ll say no, cause he’s still far too sensitive to be functional on his own yet.

To be honest he doesn’t do the best job at putting lotion on you, but he’s happy so it’s worth it.

The underlying thing is just having you with him? Charles wants to be in your space, to be close to you and to feel safe and sheltered. Even in a normal headspace Charles has no concept of personal side when it comes to you, but after scenes it’s even more so.

He wants to be with you at all times.

Today we celebrate two of my favourite fandom people, the power that you guys hold 😌 This list was supposed to be published later on in the series but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to scream again about your wonderful work. It’s been lovely to share this fandom space with you, and to get to know you better in the last few months. I’ve been in love with your fics ever since I read Waiting for that Feeling and now I finally get to share a proper reclist with your hidden gems!

I’ve told you this before but the first word that comes to mind when I think of your writing is “refreshing”. Your characters are a charming mix of open and tentative, a bit bold and a bit shy, and I can never guess what they’re doing or saying next, which is really exciting because it keeps me engaged at all times. I love how your Harry and Draco have such unique and interesting personalities; considering so many authors focus on Draco’s POV, your Harry has quickly become one of the most captivating takes I’ve seen on him lately.

Whenever I’m reading a iota fic I’m surprised by an unexpected joke that makes me snort out loud, or a subtle confession that makes me take a deep breath and go back to reread that line a few times. I love your brand of slice-of-life, light and fun but also contemplative and so so sexy (honestly, I haven’t seen someone make T and M content this sexy in a long time!) with low key angst, clever humor, engaging dialogue and A+ purposeful flirting. Your delicious UST and fab sense of humour got me immediately obsessed with both Heartlines and A Truth - I remember thinking “Wow iota has such a cool VIBE and I love it!”. Being in such a big fandom surrounded by many talented authors, I think it’s impressive that you found a strong, unique voice and are able to come up with original ways to approach these characters and tropes.

I’m always excited when I see you’ve posted a new fic because I know it’s gonna be a lovely treat perfectly crafted to meet my tastes. They come together nice and easy, and the hopeful ending left me wanting all the 8th year sneaking around (sorry, Michael!)

The walls at the Leaky Cauldron were paper thin. Harry knew this because he could hear Malfoy next door.

Market Saturdays (2021, M, 3.2k) - you know what they say, market romance is peak romance!!! This domestic fluff is everything I didn’t know I needed, I’ve read this fic multiple times and it never fails to make my heart ache with sweet tenderness for them. This gentle short story will cleanse your skin and cure your anxiety, results guaranteed or your money back 👌🏼

In which Harry is an accidental part-time cheesemonger, Draco is an organic farmer and they fall in love. Not an AU.

Waiting for that Feeling (2021, T, 3.8k) - road trip my beloved! This is a breathtaking and immersive friends to lovers tale with light angst, a perfect Ronald Weasley and soft contemplative vibes. It was my very first iota fic and it became an instant fave, I’ll always have a special spot for it inside my heart.

I wanna live inside this pool party/nightclub/bathtub perfect universe, please and thank!

A pool party, a nightclub, a bathtub. Draco Malfoy is the last person Harry expected to run into the summer before his third year of university, but he's not complaining (at least not anymore).

Not Nineteen Forever (2022, E, 6k) - I still can’t believe this wonderful de-aging goodness was written for Liv day! This is a perfect Auror partners romance with the BEST sassy 19yo Draco, pining Harry, sweet friends to lovers with adorable flirting and a nod to Daddy kink 😳 basically everything I love in one place, sweet and clever and smutty as all lovely things iota creates.

A rogue charm hits on a mission and suddenly, Draco is nineteen again. Harry is still thirty-five and doing his best to look after his de-aged Auror partner (and forget about his long unrequited crush) until St. Mungo’s can brew the antidote. Only, Draco insists on wandering around Harry’s flat wearing nothing but Harry’s pants, flirting like his life depends on it and in the end, Harry’s only human after all. Read my rec here.

A Truth Universally Acknowledged (2021, M, 17k) - the ultimate P&P-inspired Drarry with perfect enemies to fuck buddies to friends (and lovers). Harry’s voice and want for Draco! The urgent sneaking around! The countryside romance! This fic is so so good it left me a bit incoherent, please expect a proper rec as soon as I stop screaming about this.

A year out from the war, Harry agrees to accompany Hermione on a historical walking tour of Pride and Prejudice. Not in the itinerary: running into Draco Malfoy, setting off a summer of stately homes, lavish parties, resentful shagging, and maybe, falling in love.

Heartlines (2022, T, 22k) - my favorite Cluefest this year, excellent and intriguing case fic with sentient Houses, competent Auror!Harry, surprising and brilliant sense of humour, delicious slow burn with clever dialogue and tons of UST! This fic is sexy, mysterious, funny and charming all at once, definitely a must read.

Just as Draco Malfoy's life seems to be getting back on track, the magic at Malfoy Manor is spinning out of control. Auror partners Harry Potter and Angelina Johnson are assigned to the case and quickly find that nothing about the situation is obvious. The flare ups are unpredictable at best, downright dangerous at worst, and why has a Hogwarts first year gone missing at the same time? Read my rec here.

There was obviously Todd. Cute guy. Activist. Nice hair. good with kids😌

But this doesn’t have to invalidate anything (just cause you think someone’s hot doesn’t mean much other than that you have eyes). PLUS her whole interest felt more like a comedic relief bit than genuine. Maybe a little ace humor to take off the edge before the go kill the devil and save the world? (*finger guns* 👉😙👉)

Camila is also probably the most comfortable in her role as a nun as far as the group goes so it would make sense that she doesn’t feel any call to romantic or sexual relationships. At least not very significant urges, which again! ace and aro people can experience from time to time.

Definitely a bit more distance in the Georgebur dynamic but I do hope this on-screen interaction is the set-up for more between them. Hello, Santa. I am having a reasonable week so far - though it's only Monday, but it was a good Monday, so I guess that counts for something, right? Just four more days until Winter Break begins!

I love your questions, and I shall try to answer them in the same way that I have the others - but without going on too much. I do that sometimes, you know.

The first question. I don't really consider myself a funny person. I mean I guess I might be, but I don't see it that way. It's a tricky thing to be funny when MDD and anxiety have their twin hooks in you. You know, the person I think that does manage to be funny even with all of her mental disorders is a writer called, Jenny Lawson. She wrote a couple of books that I love to pieces, one is called Let's Pretend this Never Happened, and the other is called Furiously Happy. They're a scream if you ever get the inkling to read something like that. As for my sense of humor, I have an incredibly dry sense of humor (inherited that from my dad), and sarcasm is my second language - I'm quite fluent.

My top three Rumbelle fics? Oh boy! Now you're asking the tough questions. Without a doubt, I'd have to say The Long Game by @emospritelet without whom I wouldn't even be a part of the Rumbelle community. It was her fic that first made my dip my toe in the Tumblr Rumbelle community. Another of my favorite fics is Awake by @peacehopeandrats. I love the concept, (and I love the show that gave the inspiration for the fic too). I'm hoping they will find inspiration to write more of it. My third is a tie really between Jupiter's Water and Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat both of which are by @deliriumsdelight7. I just can't choose between the two.

The Anyem pairing threw me for a bit of a loop, because of course I read Anyelle first of all, which is a much easier question to answer. (It being Rushbelle). But Anyem... that's a tricky one. I can't honestly say that I've read many Anyem to be honest. However, thinking about it, (quite hard), Nadia Sierri/Robert Sutherland. I think that one would be interesting.

luoyang:

luoyang is relatively shorter compared to lof, that's 39 vs 52 episodes

plot wise I was hooked to luoyang more, cause I really like detective/murder mysteries.

if you're looking for any romantic scenes then luoyang barely has any doesn't have a lot of those (*sort of spoilers* we get one kiss between the main leads and that too was like a cpr situation lol).

if you liked lan wangji's character in cql it's highly likely you'll love erlang (yibo's character) in here too.

one thing I really liked was huang xuan's acting, it was really incredible. he's a very good actor, and knows how to build the scene. the relationship between erlang and gao bingzhu was interesting particularly cause the way yibo knows how to create homoerotic tension

idk if this counts as a selling point but luoyang had a big budget, you can see with all the sets and places, almost everything was built from scratch and it was really cool.

legend of fei:

compared to luoyang, lof is pretty long. I had to finish it in pieces the first time.

xie yun (yibo) and zhou fei (zhao liying) were the selling point for the show for me. they have very good chemistry.

if erlang is lan wangji's son lmao then xie yun is wei wuxians. but jokes aside yibo playing xie yun is just >>>>>> he's so charismatic and lovely. really knows how to capture your attention in every scene.

legend of fei is for the women. no but the amount of girl bosses in this show is just 👏👏👏 this show is for bisexuals, it's for the girlbosses and their himbo (boy)friends.

God, I wish I would write this down... Valen and Hakon are both ENFPs. Zath is an INFJ. I think Helena is an ESTJ 🤔. I'll have to take the test for the rest of them again, if you're interested.

A24. What are some of your OC’s biggest personal obstacles? This could be emotional, physical, social… Are they aware of it? Are they trying to overcome it?

Valen is selfless to her own detriment, while Helena is the opposite. Both pose obstacles in different ways. Valen is rarely ever self-serving so she burns out a lot and has to be reminded to take care of herself. Helena is purely self-serving which affects her relationships with others pretty negatively. I'd say they're both pretty aware of it, though I'd say Valen is better at facing personal issues than Lena is.

B4. Do they tip well? How easily can they be moved to not leave a tip?

Uhh, while some of them are assholes, I'd say they all tip well. It would hurt my soul if they didn't 😭

I'd say they all have moral codes, they just differ a lot, I guess? But most are of a similar basis. Zeke, Indigo, and Helena probably have the worst set of morals, due to the three of them being murderers 😔✋.

C5. Do your OC’s morals and rules of common decency go out the window when it comes to those they don’t like, or when it’s inconvenient? Aka, are their morals situational?

Good question! I'd say Indigo and Gray's morals are the most situational due to how emotional they can get. Indigo tends to start to lose his grip on reality when he's angry, so he can definitely end up doing some shit he'll regret. Gray is similar but not as extreme as Indigo is.

D3. How comfortable are they with the idea of death?

I would say Basil and Demetria are the most comfortable with the idea of death. Basil has quite literally died and come back, while Demetria is a necromancer. The ones that are the most uncomfortable with the idea would be Helena, Zeke, and Indigo. Helena because she's just scared, and the latter two just know they won't be going anywhere nice. Valen is also a little nervous about it since she's broken the Green Pact before :/.

E6. Do they enjoy learning? Do they actively seek out sources of self-education?

Most of them are pretty open to learning new things, I'd say? Not a lot of them are close minded. Valen, Zath, and Kieran are the mostly likely to seek out knowledge on their own volition though. Gray and Silas are a bit lazy when it comes to things like that.

L1. How have your characters changed since you created them?

I think Zathrion, Demetria, and Tihtiyas have undergone the most changes since I was pretty young when I made the three of them. Their backstories would be the main thing that changed. Zathrion's was pretty dark, which I think I honestly was just going for shock factor with that and just never bothered to change it as the years went on. His son and ex-wife are alive and well! And I much prefer it that way 😌

Demetria started out as one my Dragonborns, but I repurposed her as my vestige a year or two ago. She originally started out as one of the last surviving members of House Telvanni and traveled to Skyrim for refuge, and naturally got caught crossing the border. I think I paired her with Farkas? I didn't have follower mods back then.

Tihtiyas used to be named Shiloh since I didn't know any Mi'kmaq rooted names when I was a kid. I think I was 13 or 14 when I made her? Maybe younger. She started out pretty edgy because that's what I thought was cool. She's much kinder now, dumb sense of humor, and loves to help people.
