HOW TO BLOCK TAGS:A PSA

Hi there buddy chum pal friend buddy bro homie amigo (gender neutral) !

I see you don't like a certain tag. Let's learn how to BLOCK IT!

This goes hand in hand with my recent post, and I felt like I should share this for my peeps so y'all can be safe out there.

Only you can prevent cringe shit from coming across your feed.

Step Numbah 1: Go to your account

Step Numberrrr 2: Look for "Content You See"

Step Number Three: Filtered Tags VS Filtered Post Content

Filtered Tag: A filtered tag is something set by creator of a post. For example, if a post is cringe ass nae nae baby to you, you can type in "Cringe Ass Nae Nae Baby" tag and any post tagged with "Cringe Ass Nae Nae Baby" will say "This post contains filtered tags".

Filtered Post Content: Now if you're uncomfortable with a certain word, you can filter it out via this. Keep in mind if any person's username, title, or post has this word anywhere in it, you will be unable to see it (unless you select to be allowed to). If a past reblog has said tag, it will also be filtered out.

Note: Tumblr will let you know which tags are filtered out and give you the option to view them if you wish.

Step #4: MAKE USE OF THE COMMUNITY FILTERS

Each of these is self explanatory- however Show, Hide, and Blur can be a lil silly.

Show- Straightforward, it will show you ALLL of these posts unless you have filtered tags.

Blur- If you have a community tag blurred, it will warn you that it has sensitive material. It gives you the option to view with the warning.

Hide- Hide will hide anything related to the community tag. For example gore out fall under violent, so it would be hidden completely.

i don’t know if this really counts as an evil!mommy sugu but like . i imagine suguru to be a little lenient with how often you refer to him with his name and not his title. he understands you get shy sometimes, and he doesn’t mind when some days it takes you a little longer to call him mommy. he can handle a shy baby!

but i feel like the one time he really enforces it, is when you’re either arguing or trying to make a point. he won’t respond until you refer to him as mommy. like, you try calling him sugu or suguru and he’s just smiling softly, patting your cheek and saying; “i don’t know who you could possibly be talking to, because that’s not my name.”

and not only does he do it to slightly embarrass you, but to also subtly put you back in your place. to see how sheepish you get when you feel your cheeks heating up. because you’re just being so silly! how could you even fathom arguing with the man you call mommy? who takes care of every need you may or may not have? silly baby.

I agree i agree i agree i love this so much buuuttt i think he would do this for your safety really, he's not worried about his position crumbling or anything, just wants to remind you that this is mommy you're talking about, he's here to protect you, keep you safe and happy, and you can't any of those things when you look at the person who provides for you and think negative thoughts, he is your caretaker!!!!!!!!!! He does what's best for you, mother knows best and mother knows that putting you back in your place is the best way to go back about this. So he's gently palming your cheek and sliding a thumb inside to lure his sweet obedient baby out again, and once the initial embarrassment of calling him mommy fades you're back into your safe cozy comfy world, you turn pliant basically lmao.

Hi! I know you may not know this but Pearl has asked people to not maintag shipping content with her! That means tagging it as "pearlescentmoon".

I'm going to start this off by saying that i Love and Appreciate everything Pearl does as a content creator for us. i think she's incredible and one of my favorite hermits. But i think creators have gotten Far too comfortable in fan spaces.

at its core, fan spaces are meant to be just that- fan spaces. spaces for us as fans to come together and discuss and share creations about this thing we really like. and its cool to give or send the ccs those creations sometimes. but this isn't a space for them. tumblr isn't for ccs. its for us. and you wanna know the one tenant that all fan spaces operate under? Don't Like, Don't Read.

i greatly respect all of the work our ccs do to bring us such incredible content- but they don't get to enter our spaces and demand that we cater to them and what they want to see. pearl is capable of blocking the gempearl or hermitshipping or trafficshipping tags just like anyone else who doesn't want to see shipping content. the fact that it clogs her feed anyway is something she has to deal with just like anyone else who exists on this website. she isn't special.

the pearlescentmoon tag exists for fans to find community around Pearl. not to be her personal feed of completely wholesome offerings. no one is forcing her to be here, no one is sending her shipping content (at least i sure hope no one is, that is where i draw the line, don't specifically send creators shit that'll make them uncomfortable) she can't demand everyone hide their shipping content when she wasn't supposed to be here in the first place.

The platonic/familial ("&") vs romantic/sexual ("/") binary of ao3 is kinda frustrating. I get why it's a thing, but like. Sometimes I just want to see the two characters and I don't care if they're kissing or not! and having to decide which half of the content for them to look through at any given time is annoying.

Not even to mention trying to tag my own works when idgaf about relationship labels and categorizations like that, or when it's an ambiguous or queerplatonic relationship, or otherwise doesn't fit into the platonic-romantic/sexual binary.

Hey guys if you’re not tagging your stuff properly especially in fandom tags, people are gonna block you. Tags are the only way to filter content and when you don’t use them properly you mess up the filtration system on this site. The only other way to get your posts to go away is to block you.

I have blocked so many x reader fanfic authors because I just don’t want to see any x reader or character prompt stuff. But unfortunately a lot of these users are both young and new to tumblr and don’t seem to know (or maybe care) how this sites mechanics work. And they don’t tag any of their stuff properly so filters don’t work at all. So the only other way for me to get the spammy amount of x reader stuff out of fandom tags is to block every person that posts it. That’s literally the only other way.

If you don’t want to get blocked for really dumb reasons just tag your stuff correctly. Literally one x reader tag is all you need.

cant believe people are so mad about you archiving terms made by radqueers. like yes, we're not radqueer and do not have radqueer ideology. we are radqueer critical, not pro at all, we can just tolerate them now. we have a stance that all terms should be and deserve to be archived; archive blogs are like a library, yeah, youre going to find books of genres youre not gonna like. but i cant believe people are giving up their support for you just because youre broadening what you archive here. we actually like the fact that youre broadening it, even if its from a group of people who we dont really agree with. like, you know how many times we see archived terms made by anti-endogenics here? we have their tags blocked, so we have to uncensor them each time. yet we're not complaining.
