Hey guys if you’re not tagging your stuff properly especially in fandom tags, people are gonna block you. Tags are the only way to filter content and when you don’t use them properly you mess up the filtration system on this site. The only other way to get your posts to go away is to block you.
I have blocked so many x reader fanfic authors because I just don’t want to see any x reader or character prompt stuff. But unfortunately a lot of these users are both young and new to tumblr and don’t seem to know (or maybe care) how this sites mechanics work. And they don’t tag any of their stuff properly so filters don’t work at all. So the only other way for me to get the spammy amount of x reader stuff out of fandom tags is to block every person that posts it. That’s literally the only other way.
If you don’t want to get blocked for really dumb reasons just tag your stuff correctly. Literally one x reader tag is all you need.

Tips on adding tags to fics
I wrote a guide last year about writing fanfic summaries (check it out here) and thought it might be useful to do a follow-up on tags! (Please note that this is AO3-specific and focuses entirely on the Additional Tags section. And also that all of this is just my opinion.)
I see folks often lament that they don’t know what tags to add to their fics; I think the biggest struggle comes from folks not knowing what purposes tags serve. So, let’s discuss that!
Convey Tone
The first thing tags are used for is to tell the audience what tone to expect from the fic. Is it a lighthearted comedy with some sweet moments? Tag it with Fluff, Humor, and Comedy. Is it a dark, slow, depressing tale that ends poorly? Try Heavy Angst, Sad, Bad Ending.
When looking for a fic to read, people want to know what the vibe is so they can find the fic that matches what they’re in the mood for. The summary is useful for this, too, but the tags are where you can really confirm: Yes, this is a fic with Light Angst, Humor, and Happy Ending.
In short: use tags as tone indicators. Not all fics cleanly fit one tone or the other, so overlap tags accordingly. It’s normal to have some contradiction; that’s the nature of storytelling.
Some common tone indicator tags:
Fluff
Tooth-Rotting Fluff
Domestic Fluff
Romantic Fluff
Light-Hearted
Crack
Crack Taken Seriously
Hurt/Comfort
Emotional Hurt/Comfort
Comfort No Hurt
Hurt No Comfort
Humor
Some Humor
No Plot/Plotless
Light Angst
Angst
Heavy Angst
Angst With a Happy Ending
Eventual Happy Ending
Sad Ending
Bad Ending
Happy Ending
Hopeful Ending
Ambiguous/Open Ending
…and more!
2. Content Warnings
Next, tags are a great place to add content warnings for your fic. Notes can go into more detail or be used for chapter-level warnings, but putting the broad categories of your content warnings in the tags is a good idea so those who wish to avoid certain types of content can do so, and those specifically seeking out heavy content can find what they’re looking for.
AO3 has the Archive Warnings function to help with this, but tags can elaborate on or specify warnings that don’t fit the Archive Warning categories.
Not everyone likes content warnings or sees the point of adding them, or they feel that they ruin the surprise element of storytelling. I won’t make a detailed argument here, but consider content warnings a sign of respect for your audience and their wellbeing. Triggers are very real things rooted in trauma and the least you can do is give someone a heads up that what you wrote could negatively affect them. Plus, as mentioned, sometimes darker content is exactly the thing someone wants, and a warning can actually be another way to attract a reader.
A very very short list of content warning tags to consider (and here’s your own heads up for mentions of upsetting topics in this list):
Death
Grief/Mourning
Violence
Canon-Typical Violence
Torture
Blood
Abuse
Alcohol
Drugs
Rape/Non-con Elements
Mentions of Rape/Non-con
Consent Issues
Mental Health Issues (there are lots of more specific tags for this category)
Panic Attacks
Ableist Language
…and more!
(There is definitely more that could be said regarding content warnings for Explicit fics, but I don’t read or write those, so you’ll need to look elsewhere for that.)
3. Searchable/Fandom-Specific
One of the most useful aspects of tags is being able to search the entire Archive via tags and/or filter content by tags (both to include and exclude – familiarize yourself with AO3’s Filter system if you haven’t already). So, you’ll want to include tags that folks are searching by. Tone indicator tags are used this way, but so are fandom-specific, character-specific, and relationship-specific tags.
If you have no idea where to start, look up the fandom/character/relationship you are writing for and filter AO3 by that. Then, spend some time looking at tags and filtering by different ones. See what comes up. Reading fic is always the best way to learn how to tag them, and that’s especially the case here. Maybe you’ll end up creating a new fandom tag!
While fandom-specific tags are not necessary, they can help make your fic easier to find, especially in large fandoms. Note that fandom-specific tags will usually have the fandom listed in parentheses at the end.
It’s difficult to make a list of tags for this sort of thing, but here’s some common structures I’ve seen over the years:
[Character Name] Needs a Hug
Asexual/Aromantic/Demisexual (etc.) [Character Name]
Oblivious [Character Name]
Dramatic [Character Name]
Sweet [Character Name]
Angry [Character Name]
Disabled [Character Name]
Autistic [Character Name]
Agender/Nonbinary/Trans [Character Name]
[Character Name] Has Anxiety/ADHD/Tourette’s etc.
Ambiguous [Character Name] and [Character Name] Relationship
Queerplatonic [Character Name] / [Character Name]
They/Them Pronouns for [Character Name]
Teacher/Superhero/Artist/other profession [Character Name]
[Character Name]-centric
Touch-Starved [Character Name]
[Character Name] is Bad at Feelings
[Character Name] Has Self-Esteem Issues
…and more!
Another category is tags for specific scenes, missing scenes, story arcs, episodes/chapters/parts, and so on, such as:
The Night at Crowley’s Flat (Good Omens)
Cloud Recesses Study Arc (Modao Zushi)
Post-Mogami Arc (Mob Psycho 100)
And there are plenty more that are so fandom-specific that they don’t fit an exact category:
Alternate Universe – No System (Scum Villain)
Heaven is Terrible (Good Omens)
Xianle Trio (Tian Guan Ci Fu)
4. BONUS Topic – Canon Divergence and Alternate Universes
One of the most fun parts of fanfic is toying with canon, so here’s a list of tags that can convey your fic’s relationship to the canon story. These are for fics that maintain a strong relationship with or resemblance to canon.
Pre-Canon
During Canon
Post-Canon
Canon Compliant
Not Canon Compliant
Alternate Universe – Canon Divergence
Alternate Canon
Fix-It
Not a Fix-It
Fix-It of Sorts
Some fandoms have specific tags regarding canon compliance with only parts of the given media – usually the case for franchises or works with big gaps between installments.
Not Canon Compliant With [Media Name] [Season/Episode Number]
Next are Alternate Universes (AUs), which are so divergent from canon to the point of not even being in the same world. There are more types of AU than I could dare list here, and several are also fandom-specific, but here’s some generic sorts that come to mind:
Modern Setting
Human
High School
College/University
Roommates/Housemates
Soulmates
Superheroes/Superpowers
Fairy Tale
Urban Fantasy
Science Fiction & Fantasy
Meet-Cute (can also be Alternative Universe – Different First Meeting)
Meet-Ugly
…and more!
5. BONUS BONUS Topic – Romance
Lots of fics on AO3 are written for romantic ships, and there are a LOT of tags to categorize different types and stages of these ships. These tags are useful to establish reader expectations (and again, for filtering). Some common examples:
Pre-Slash
Pre-Relationship
Developing Relationship
Established Relationship
Love Confessions
Love Realization
Drunken Confessions
Mutual Pining
Not Actually Unrequited Love
Getting Together
Getting Back Together
Moving In Together
Falling in Love
Marriage
[Friends/Enemies/Strangers/Rivals/etc.] to Lovers (can also have three stages, such as Strangers to Friends to Lovers or Lovers to Enemies to Friends)
Flirting
Slow Burn
Denial of Feelings
…and more!
There are also tags to specify what physical affection the characters engage in:
Holding Hands
Cuddling & Snuggling
Hugs
Kissing
Making Out
Almost Kiss
First Kiss
Second Kiss
Literal Sleeping Together
Non-Sexual Intimacy
No Smut
Explicit Sexual Content
Implied/Referenced Sex
…and more!
Aaaand a few non-romantic ones to toss around, for fun:
Best Friends
Platonic Relationships
Friendship
No Romantic Relationships (goes under the Relationships section, not Additional Tags)
Found Family
Friendship/Love
Ambiguous Relationships
Queerplatonic Relationships
Family
Parenthood
Love
Siblings
Developing Friendships
Parent/Child Relationship
…and more!
This guide got out of hand, and I still didn’t cover everything I could have, but I hope this was a helpful overview and makes tagging a little easier for you going forward! Here’s AO3’s tagging page for more info. Feel free to drop your own tips in a reblog/comment or ask questions if there’s something you want me to elaborate on. <3

Hi there, I'm sure you're inundated with asks about this right now but aside from reiterating what's been said about appropriate tagging and that tumblrs filters are surprisingly good with catching previous tags, I'd like to bring up that you very consistently tag the works you reblog from other people and the MOST efficient way to avoid potentially triggering material in this *specific* situation is to simply filter the "used my pose" tag. I've not noticed a single reblog slip by without being tagged as I am filtering it myself. You've done due diligence in informing followers that you share other people's work, how to avoid seeing it, and have been continuously receptive to advice on how to run your blog. We all have equal responsibility to respect the resources you are providing and the person behind them.
Oh thank you! Yes this is an option!! Because I always use that tag! 🄰 Blocking that tag results in a catch all to remove ALL the art I reblog def helpful if 1) you're only here for the pose content directly and 2) you want to avoid any possible themes that might come up! Im not always super consistent with tags but that one for sure I know I remember because I do them all at once. tysm for mentioning this so I can remind people this is an option! ♄

hey, this is just in hopes any of the new migrating quotev users can get this done(please just post this even if you don't have a response!!!):
PLEASE opt out of midjourney for EVERY single blog you have on your account- we reblogged a poll that has a post by staff explaining how to get there in settings to turn it off: Midjourney has access to put every reblog and post you have on your blog into data for an ai, on our blog @darlingbeehive we have the reblog after our introduction post, PLEASE check it over, reblog and spread so as many Quotev creatives can opt out instead of their art being defiled by jerks
ALSO!!! FLITER TAGS!!! YOU CAN AVOID INTERACTING WITH TERFS AND ANTI/PRO-WHATEVER AND NSFW BLOGS/POSTS BY SIMPLY FILTERING AS MANY POSSIBLE TAGS THAT COULD BE USED BY THEM!!! INCLUDE YOUR TRIGGERS TOO OR THINGS THAT MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE FOR YOU LIKE YOUR MOST HATED SHIPS!!!
JUST GO TO THE SETTINGS -> FILTER -> AND TACK ON AS MANY POSSIBLE TAGS FOR NSFW OR EVEN SUGGESTIVE OR POSSIBLE TAGS YOU KNOW ARE FOR THE SHIP!!! NSFW BLOGS WILL BE AGGRESSIVE IF YOU ARE A MINOR AND FOLLOW THEM EVEN IF THEY DO NOT STATE THEY ARE 18+ NSFW BLOGS BUT ARE IN FACT ONLY "MATURE CONTENT WARNING"S!!! (which they have EVERY right to do so!!!! because they might get in trouble for minors getting ahold of nsfw and are 10000% willing to block on sight!!)
do NOT spoil things like d..d(e,a) just TAG your things with it: tw character death, tw animal death, tw death mention are all 10000% more likely to aid those AVOIDING reading/seeing such than tagging animal d..th(ea) (commas tend to turn unfinished tags into tags keep in mind,)
- @darlingbeehive a old tumblr user who was on Q for 4 years who wants to help refugee quotevians be safe and settled without experiencing The Horros(tm) (on anon bc on phone and the darlingbeehive account isnt hooked up to here, our MUCH older tumblr account from when we were in highschool however is, and would show up if we weren't on anon)
hey former q users this is a really useful guide! please read over it and thank you to anon.

I'm seeing a lot of people here and on other platforms getting angry at people who have come from Tik Tok (and youtube to a lesser extent) who refuse to say words like death, racism and anything relating to heavy topics. Sometimes they won't even say the names of minorities either.
Any I get why this is frustrating and just not a good practice. The people criticising these folks are absolutely right, we need to get comfortable saying these words and discussing these topics. Not to mention the fact that self-censorship can cause issues for people who are legitimatly triggered by those topics (e.g. due to trauma), But as someone who spent a lot of time on Tik Tok and youtube before coming here, I think there's some vital context missing here.
I'd say a good 75% of the people on tik tok, and by extention, people who have moved elsewhere from Tik Tok, using words like "unalive," "r#pe," "sewerslide" or whatever else aren't using it because they're uncomfortable with the topic. In fact, it's quite the opposite. They want to talk about it, but Tik Tok's content moderation is so wildly strict that they can't. Even saying the words would get you flagged by the algorithm, ESPECIALLY if you had captions enabled or the actual word written in text from the in-app editor. This was especially true for people from minorities trying to talk about issues affecting their community or even just themselves (hence the hesitation to even say the minorities name sometimes).
This isn't just some conspiracy theory either. Tik Tok staff admitted to doing this intentionally on several occasions as a way to "keep the peace". I remeber when I first joined, it came out that they intentionally limited views on videos of visibly disabled people, both to prevent bullying but also because "some users find that content disturbung." I couldn't even show my stumps in videos without my videos getting stuck on 0 views at best or account warnings for "inappropriate content" at worst. I got DMs from several people after my video about disability pride month in July asking why their comments wishing me a happy disability pride month got removed, when I went into check the filtered comments, they'd all been hidden for "bullying". The same thing was happening with people commenting and saying the word "autism." And that's just the disabled community. I know similar stuff was happening in other communities too.
Most of the time, you had to speak in coded language to get your point out there. It's not that they're uncomfortable with it, it's because the videos would be dead in the water if they didn't. Getting the message out using these "toned down" replacements was better than not getting it out at all.
"OK, but this isnt tik tok, they shouldn't do that here" yeah, I agree, but for a lot of kids, Tik Tok was their first real experiance with social media, it makes sense that they're going to assume other platforms will be the same. YouTube is just as bad, if not worse, in some respects. Tumblr even has its fair share of censorship issues, too (e.g. queer people's posts being flagged as mature for seemingly no reason). It's not a stretch to make the assumption they'd need to continue the practice of self-censorship here, too.
This isn't to say that NO ONE is using the censored words to avoid hard topics/because it makes them uncomfy, but in my experiance, those people assume this is the best thing to do because everyone else was using it. They don't stop to ask why. They just repeat it, which in turn contributes to making them umcomfey with the real word.
I'm not saying don't pick people up on this stuff. We NEED those words, and we need to be more comfortable with them so stuff like the above situation doesn't happen and become a self-perpetuating cycle. But it started from a real, genuine need to censor ourselves to even get the message out, and I think it's important to keep that in mind. It's not just kids being "too sensitive."

CW: fakeclaiming discussion, light discussion of autistic trauma
I love my fellow systems. I do. I really do.
But I’m so tired of seeing so many posts that are simply ā€œyou’re valid if this happens, ignore the fakeclaimers!ā€ And then listing tons of aspects of simply existing as plural.
Maybe I’m just talented at avoiding the fake claiming content. But not once in the several years of me interacting with system content as a system, have I seen fakeclaiming content. I’m absolutely aware that it’s out there, this isn’t a ā€œwell it hasn’t happened to me so it obviously doesn’t happenā€ situation. What I have seen? Fakeclaiming bingo sheets made by systems, lists of reasons you might get fakeclaimed, and other content like that. I get that they’re fun, especially as a fuck you to fakeclaimers, but we need content warnings for these posts. Even if they’re positive.
Because I haven’t had baby systems come crying to me because they’re having massive breakdowns over fakeclaimers. But I have had them come because of these posts. Even as one of the few people with the privilege of a diagnosis and having had said diagnosis for 5 years, they leave me shaken and distressed.
A lot of systems are autistic, including me. (This is related, I promise.) an experience at one point or another a lot of us can relate to is watching for social cues for what will get us bullied, what will get us hurt, what will get us punished, and avoiding them. Often, those things were behaviors we couldn’t control; symptoms of our autism. It’s triggering to be thrown right back in that same situation: looking for advice and support, and instead being told that a group of people we may never interact with because they occupy a small corner of the internet will hate us no matter what we do because of our plurality- something we can’t just stop doing to avoid punishment.
It’s not that the posts themselves are bad. It’s not that they need to stop. I just wish our community would get better at having content warnings, *and* including said content warnings in the tags so they can be filtered. I wish that more of the system discourse was about how to function in life, and less about battling hate. Because it’s exhausting, both for the people posting and the people consuming. It’s hard to have community and solidarity when we’re immediately thrown into this battle. Not to mention sysmed vs endos. It. Is. Exhausting. People come to the online community looking for solidarity. For friendship. People leave because fakeclaiming outside and inside of the community permeates everything like a disease.
If there are any system accounts out there who don’t do this, please @ me or smth. People come here to have their spoon reserves bolstered, not stripped away before they can finally find a helpful tip.
TL;DR use content warnings. And put them in the tags. Make whatever content you want, just make it filterable. Please.
Love,
A very, very tired system with like 30 baby systems under their wings.

To give a serious response to your last reblog, I think most people (maybe not the VOCAL majority) like to exclude tags they don't want to see, and then if something is tagged incorrectly you do just scroll past or stop reading the fic when something comes up. I know there are people who complain about it like it's the end of the world but yeah it is a common thing among most of my internet people to be like "aw man I didn't know [thing] was gonna be in this fic, I guess I'm gonna go read something else now" and I don't really see any problem with that. (As long as they aren't like harassing the author about it or anything obviously, which again I'm sure some people do and that's not cool)
Fair warning, this was supposed to be a quick response and it turned into a long ass ramble about purity culture and anti behavior, sorry about that. It is a long post so feel free to just skip to the TL:DR.
I agree with you, and as I mentioned I really really like the tagging system and the culture of putting content warnings and trigger warnings over content to help people avoid what they dislike and/or actively harms them. I like it in general, not just on AO3.
For what concerns AO3 I know that most people don't cause any kind of issue about it. I too had a situation where an anonymous guest commented to ask me to tag something in my fic. I hadn't thought about it because it was kind of just a vague mention but to them it seemed to be a big deal, so I apologized and added the tag (and they were really nice and polite about it anyway) and that was it. I don't mind people asking me to tag stuff. As an author I'm not omniscient and I don't have a team or even just an advisor to give a second opinion on my stuff, and tell me what I might have missed in the tags. So by all means do say it if you prefer this or that tag being added to my stories. I might have come off as someone who has issues with the tagging system and the culture around it, and I understand that it might be the case since my reblog was worded a bit harshly. I am sorry about that.
What I really was complaining about is people adopting anti or anti-ish behavior around fanfictions and fanfiction writers, acting like the fact that they come across content they dislike is the poster's fault when they're unable to curate their own online experience, and/or take responsibility as grown adults over the possibility of coming across something they dislike. At the same time holding fanfiction writers to absurd standards when it comes to laying out what their fics contain before someone engages with it, while it would be considered absurd to demand something like this from a novel, a movie, a videogame or anything non-transformative really. And not only there's the exclusion system on AO3 that helps people filter content they don't like, but also I want to highlight the fact that someone who is writing a fanfiction does not owe anyone anything in terms of tagging their stories. Tagging by itself is a form of courtesy that is not mandatory for most kind of content except the so called Archive Warnings, and even then you can avoid tagging anything by simply using "Creator chose not to use warnings" - which I'm sure you know means "this story contains potentially upsetting themes, proceed at your own risk". Most people will just politely ask to add tags, and most people will just tag their stories anyway. I very rarely ever came across a fic which was severely untagged to the point of making me wonder if the OP actually knew tags existed, and how they worked in the first place. I think it happened maybe twice and I've been reading fanfictions since AO3 didn't even exist. But there also are people who will harass the author if they didn't tag their fic "properly", and by properly it often times means that a character mentioned something the reader dislikes, or maybe a character they hate makes a very brief appearance, or there is a random OC created for a specific situation. Or anything that doesn't suit their tastes really, and that they demanded was laid out in front of them so they could avoid the gigantic effort of clicking on a story, read the first chapter and deciding by themselves if they liked it or not. These people are the ones who act like fanfiction writers and content in general should cater explicitly to them. Just check the comments of that post, you'll see an array of folks complaining that "authors do this on purpose!" and that who doesn't tag their fic properly is a terrible person.
There's this one saying that it's "so frustrating" and "really inconsiderate" on the author's part, referring to a fanfiction which has one of the characters genderswapped. Now I really, really dislike genderswap (nothing against it or against who likes it, but it really is not my cup of tea both in fics and in fanarts) and I generally stay away from it. But realistically, how long is it going to take me to realize that a fic has been written with one or more genderswapped characters? A couple of sentences? Maybe an entire paragraph? How "frustrating" is it gonna be to spend something like 3 minutes figuring that this story is not for me, and move on with my life?
It's not frustrating, and it's not inconsiderate on anyone's part. Sure I too would prefer it to be tagged, but it's a Me problem if I can't accept that I might end up seeing something I dislike on the internet, and it's not not a random fanfic author's responsibility to make sure I don't encounter something that makes me turn up my nose.
There is in general a lot of pressure on fanfic authors, in some fandoms more than others, and the whole "you have to absolutely nail the tags" conversation is another layer of said pressure. I know people that won't post longfics because they're unsure about the tags, especially of the fact that tags might change over time, and end up not posting at all. People deleting their entire fics over these kinds of demands because they can't meet them, because they don't know how their fic is going to change from here to the 15th chapter. People having to disable or moderate comments, take hiatuses, abandon fics - sure maybe the comment insinuating they were a bad person for not tagging "there's a random policeman OC in your detective AU" is not the main reason why they abandoned the fic, but it surely did not help.
This also leads to another phenomenon, which is that of over-tagging. Of people tagging rape/noncon "just to be safe", or tagging underage because "this character is 18 but there still is a big age gap", and the likes. That's not how tags work, that's actually how the tagging system gets bloated and becomes useless, because after the 4th fic which is tagged Rape and the rape doesn't happen, what often occurs is that the reader finds another fic tagged Rape and doesn't take it seriously. But in that one case the rape does happen and they get triggered, and it's an awful experience both for the reader and for the writer in case they get harassed over it (and this specific instance happened to me personally, because apparently the Rape warning on my story wasn't enough since the rape actually happened).
It's part of the reason why the Dead Dove: Do Not Eat tag exists and got so popular. If your story has some background/minor/past/mentioned/implied/referenced Thing happening, and you tag it as a Major Thing that happens, people who write stories which actually have Thing as a major topic don't know what to do, and end up using the Dead Dove tag which per se doesn't mean anything, it's just a way to say "MIND THE DAMN TAGS AND DON'T COME AT ME!". No one should feel forced to use the Dead Dove tag by the way. The Archive Warnings and the tagging system in general exist for a reason. If you're reading this and you've been harassed, just block the fuckers and ignore them.
So anyway, while I tend to be really irked by over-taggers especially when I'm looking for a specific kink, I don't really blame them. Purity culture kills artistic expression by making artists afraid of harassment if they post their work, among other things. I prefer an over-tagged fanfiction (or an under-tagged one) over no fanfiction at all.
TL;DR - I agree with you anon, I'm just mad at people who harass authors over tags. I don't think there's anything wrong with politely asking someone to tag their fanfiction, and if they repeatedly don't do it over major stuff that needs to be tagged, just block them and/or report them to the AO3 TOS.

The Role of Volume Analysis in Crypto Trading
Introduction
In the world of cryptocurrency, price movements are influenced by more than just technical indicators and news events. Social sentiment—how people feel and talk about a coin online—can significantly impact market direction. Understanding and tracking this sentiment is crucial Trending Bitcoin Sentiment for making smarter, faster trading decisions in real time.
The Power of Public Opinion
Social platforms like Twitter, Reddit, and Telegram have become the modern trading floor for crypto. Communities rally behind coins, spread rumors, or trigger sell-offs. A sudden surge in positive mentions can send a coin soaring, while fear and doubt can tank prices even when fundamentals remain unchanged.
Why Sentiment Analysis Matters
Sentiment analysis uses natural language processing to interpret the emotions behind online conversations. It reveals whether the public is optimistic, neutral, or fearful about a particular cryptocurrency. This insight helps traders anticipate trends, understand momentum shifts, and spot opportunities before they become obvious in the price charts.
Real-Time Sentiment Gives You an Edge
In fast-moving markets, delayed information equals lost opportunities. Real-time sentiment tracking shows what the crypto community is thinking right now. If a coin starts trending positively before a price jump, those monitoring sentiment data can enter positions early, maximizing profits and avoiding the common herd mentality mistakes.
Social Trends as Early Warning Signals
Large drops or spikes in sentiment often precede major price changes. If traders are suddenly negative on a project, it might suggest a hidden issue. Conversely, rapid positive sentiment can indicate upcoming announcements or hype cycles. Spotting these shifts early allows for proactive rather than reactive investment strategies.
Influencers and Virality in Crypto
Influential figures can move markets with a single post. Whether it's Elon Musk tweeting about Dogecoin or a major crypto analyst praising a new project, these moments create huge sentiment waves. Tracking such content in real time can help traders ride the wave or exit before a reversal hits.
FOMO and FUD: Emotional Drivers of Markets
FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) dominate emotional trading behavior. Sentiment analysis detects these emotional extremes. Recognizing when a coin is being hyped beyond reason—or unfairly attacked—lets traders make rational choices based on data, not emotions, protecting portfolios from unnecessary risks.
Combining Sentiment with Technical Data
Sentiment works best when paired with technical indicators. If positive sentiment aligns with bullish chart patterns, the signal strengthens. This multi-layered analysis gives traders more confidence in their positions. It also helps filter out noise by confirming whether emotions match underlying price action or contradict it completely.
Sentiment Dashboards Make It Simple
Modern dashboards present sentiment in clear visuals, including graphs, heatmaps, and scores. Users can instantly see how public opinion is shifting across coins and categories. These tools eliminate the need to scroll through endless social feeds, making market research faster, easier, and more actionable for any level of trader.
Staying Ahead of the Curve
In crypto, speed and insight are everything. Monitoring sentiment in real time keeps traders ahead of sudden market changes. It helps identify trending projects early and avoid coins losing community support. Staying one step ahead often means the difference between major gains and missed chances.
Conclusion
Social sentiment plays a vital role in shaping cryptocurrency prices. By tracking it in real time, traders gain powerful insight into market psychology. When combined with technical tools and smart strategy, sentiment analysis becomes an essential part of any crypto investor’s toolkit, helping them make faster, smarter, and more informed decisions.

Why People Mute Words, Phrases, and Hashtags on Twitter
ocial media is a hub of endless conversations, but not all content is relevant or welcome. Twitter's mute feature allows users to filter out specific words, phrases, and hashtags, helping them curate a better online experience.
Why Do People Mute Content on Twitter?
Avoiding Spoilers – No one wants a TV show, movie, or sports event ruined before watching it. Muting related keywords prevents unwanted surprises.
Reducing Exposure to Negativity – Hate speech, harassment, or toxic discussions can make social media overwhelming. Muting offensive terms helps create a safer space.
Protecting Mental Well-being – Certain topics can be triggering or stressful. Filtering them out allows users to maintain a healthier digital environment.
Eliminating Unwanted Topics – Whether it’s political debates, celebrity gossip, or viral trends, muting irrelevant content keeps feeds distraction-free.
The Growing Trend of Muting on Twitter
The number of people using Twitter’s mute feature has significantly increased over the years. Conversations around muting jumped from 4,000 mentions in 2015-16 to over 134,000 in recent years, reflecting its growing popularity.
Commonly Muted Words and Phrases
Politics: Many users mute names of politicians to avoid constant debates.
Celebrity Gossip: Words like ā€œKardashiansā€ are frequently muted by those uninterested in entertainment news.

Yep. Turns out I was making the unwarranted assumption that not being able to use the specific words meant that people would have problems thinking about the actual concepts, which would then lead to the sort of muddled thinking mentioned a few times upthread. Nope. They're still talking and thinking about these things, they're just using different words to do it.
(In fact, that sort of muddled thinking is a completely separate issue. It's one that desperately needs to be addressed, but it has nothing to do with people on (and now off) social media using well-understood euphemisms to avoid triggering the almighty algorithms. (And yes, algorithmic content filtering is a terrible idea and we've known that for decades now.))
we have GOT to kill tiktok/twitter self-censorship i just witnessed a grown adult say the word ā€œsmexā€ out loud to our professor

RULES FOR THIS BLOG.
last updated 2/17/24. note: these may be subject to change.
Let's get this out of the way. If you refer to Kiyoharu as a "trap", a "tranny", or any other transphobic remark, whether ic or ooc, you're catching a hardblock. Full stop. I don't fuck around with transphobia, especially not when it comes to canonical trans characters.
I do not fully adhere to canon here. My portrayal of Kiyoharu is canon-divergent, based on a rewrite of the series I am personally working on. I partially made this blog to help me develop this version of her for the fanfic I am writing for said project. Please keep this in mind when interacting, as there are definitely some changes I am making with her story in particular.
Selective && mutuals-only. If I'm following you, it means that I wish to write with you. Please don't assume otherwise just because I'm not here very often.
Magical Girl Site covers some darker && sensitive topics, even in my rewrite. However, my version of the story does tone some of these topics down. This blog will contain the following topics: transphobia, bullying, death && dying, blood, murder, talk of self-harm (not directly about muse), etc. I typically tag any triggers as trigger / so please keep this in mind!
On that note, I need the following things tagged if possible: abuse (particularly parental or sexual), nsfw/sexual content in general, && incest (even mentions). I filter the tag ollie don't look / if you need a catch-all to use!
The best way to interact with me is by sending memes! However, on that note, if the prompt you send is from an emoji prompt list, then please let me know which one it's from!! I used to be a bit harsher on this rule && applied it to all memes, but I'm honestly tired of the rule not being followed, so I'll just set it to emoji memes here. You're also free to send unprompted stuff, too! It's just easier to answer memes sometimes LMAO.
Sometimes I also post starter calls && inbox calls, feel free to like those as well! But please specify which muse you want me to toss Kiyoharu at if you do so!! Otherwise I will either pick at my own discretion or do it by spinning a wheel. Sometimes if I can't decide I may not even get to it at all && I'm sorry.
I only reblog callouts if they areĀ absolutely necessary.Ā I do not like to flood the dash with drama or other such things unless the person isĀ trulyĀ problematic. I am a big advocate of talking things out with people if a problem arises. We're all adults here.Ā Act like it.Ā If we can't come to a compromise, I will likely hardblock to avoid any issues. If I or someone I write with is interacting with someone who is truly problematic, please don't be afraid to inform me, && provide evidence so that I can decide for myself!! I am sometimes blind or out of the loop when it comes to people in the rpc, so I appreciate it if I am informed about it as soon as possible!
Typical dni criteria applies here: if you're a proshipper or otherwise think that fiction doesn't affect reality, if you primarily write nsfw content or don't properly tag it, if you sexualize minors in any way shape or form, etc., thenĀ please do not interact with me.

MOBILE RULES & INFORMATION
Since people don’t read rules all the way through i would like to preface this by saying: TRIGGERING MATERIAL WILL BE WRITTEN HERE. THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: INCEST, Ā DUBCON, MENTIONS NONCON, AFTERMATH OF NONCON, SUICIDAL IDEALATIONS, CHEATING, AND ANYTHING ELSE I WANT TO WRITE. BY CLICKING FOLLOW, YOU AGREE TO BLACKLIST THE TAGS PROVIDED IN THE FORM OF (trigger here) tw. DO NOT FOLLOW ME IF YOU THINK FICTION EQUALS REALITY OR IN ANYWAY HAS ANY REFLECTION ON A MUN’S MORAL STANDING.
HATE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND ANY ANON’S I GET ABOUT THIS THAT IS HATE WILL BE BLOCKED/NOT AT ALL ACKNOWLEDGEDS
MY FEELINGS ON SOMEONE SENDING ME ANON HATE HERE.
THANK YOU.
about: this is an indie mutuals only mostly plot based rp blog for a multimuse with various fandoms from tv shows, movies, anime, and video games. mun is 25+, i'm genderfluid and my pronouns are primarily he/him and they/them. she/her is fine but it is not prefered like those are. my name is Jay. Previously known as Ares and Snow.
Callout culture: Do not involve me in this. Period. I want no part of it and will block as soon as I see it, tagged or not. I believe it does more harm than good and something like tha is extremely harmful..
content: there will be some pretty heavy material featured here. such as suicidal thoughts, mentions of noncon and the trauma after it, dubcon, incest, and anything else I want to write. I will not tolerate hate being sent to me about this and I will block anyone who tries to police me. The only hard limit i have and absolutely refuse to write is pedophilia.
Don’t ever be afraid to ask me to tag something!
side note: if you believe fiction equals reality, please don’t follow me.
discord: is open to those who follow me. simply ask for it. i do not write on discord though. ooc contact is highly encouraged!
disclaimer: i'm in no way affiliated with any of the actors, fandoms, or characters on this blog. Ā Banners, promos, and icons belong to me. Theme was made by prosewrote. Ā all screencaps used to turn into icons on this blog are not mine and belong to their rightful owners. Lara Croft screencaps come from soulcluster. Some psds are not mine. Ā some psds used are made by rivercraze. icon template belongs to rivercraze
Drama: There won’t be any. I’m too old for tumblr’s drama, if you try to start something, make me choose, or drag me into drama - you will be blocked.
DNI’s will get you blocked. I don’t agree with making people choose between people when there are things like blacklist and tumblr’s own filtering system to help you avoid a person
Hate: Character hate, show hate, etc will get you unfollowed. I don’t have time for that negativity, pls tag it so I can filter it out, thank you.
interactions: I LOVE multiple threads with someone, if you let me, I’ll have 100 threads with people. I also, sometimes, NPC characters to help move threads along and build plots, if you’re not okay with that, please just let me know.
IMs: pls refrain from sending me multiple messages all at once as I’m autistic and it sends me into sensory overloads!!
follow/unfollowing: i usually follow back pretty quick. if i don't follow within a week, i'm probably not going to follow back. 9/10 i do follow back. i will not follow if i see vaguing, callouts, or any sort of drama on blogs. i also will not follow any under the age of 18.
If I do not follow you back, do not message me asking to write or become mutuals - you will be blocked.
If I block you, do not come to me asking why. It will only get you blocked all over again. Do not ask why i’ve unfollowed you, either.
DO NOT FOLLOW ME IF YOU’RE A MINOR.
side note: if you’re the type to blindly believe a callout because that’s what everyone else is doing Ā save yourself the trouble and don’t follow me.
Memes: Send as many as you want for as many muses as you want just be sure to specify muse or they’ll get deleted! Always feel free to turn meme answers into threads, too.
Do not use me as a meme resource. Send something in or reblog from the source, please.
note: Ā if you send memes multiple times and there’s clearly a way to continue them, ESPECIALLY if we’ve never interacted before, and you keep sending memes but have NO INTENTIONS on replying to them, I will be less likely to respond to them. memes, in my eyes, are used as alternatives to starters. if you don’t respond to them after i’ve responded to quite a few, that’s me putting work into it for no reason really, so yeah.
My triggers: Sharks. That’s it. Just tag pictures of sharks for me please. not exactly a trigger but please also tag negativity.
nsfw: smut will be present here. i can not play the dominant party/tops in smut, please don't ask me too. if you don't feel comfortable with it, we can fade to black, easy peasy. i won't make myself uncomfortable for some smut. All muses involved in smut or ships are 18+. If you think that aging them up is pedophila, do me a favor and get off my blog. Smut may happen with aged up characters but that does not mean it was done specifically for smut. Do not assume.
OCS: I love them. Send them my way, please!
OOC: Ā I post ooc, sometimes quite a bit, sometimes rarely. I am human and I will act as such. I will not tag ooc posts mostly bc i’ll forget. Sorry if that bugs people but like i said, I’m human and I like to write things down and share things with the dash.
Shipping: all muses are LGBT+ in some shape or form so if you want to ship, just let me know. They’re pretty open to anyone, though gay and lesbian muses will stay gay and lesbian. I ship toxic pairings and incest so if that’s your cup of tea, just lemme know, and we can work something out if not? That’s alright too!!
As previously stated, all ships and smut scenes are involved with characters 18+. I will never under any circumstance write something with underage characters. Characters, however, can be aged up but are never simply just for the sake of smut. Smut may happen with aged up characters but that does not mean it was done specifically for smut. Do not assume.
wait time: sometimes i can take months, sometimes seconds, sometimes days. I’m not a fast rper, please respect this.
writing: i generally prefer writing multi-para or novella. one-liners or one-paragraphs usually end up getting dropped or made into much longer threads as i have absolutely no chill.
End note: Do me a favor and like/or reply to this post if you’ve read my rules or risk being soft blocked. this is mandatory. Also below you’ll find important links:

Wanna briefly discuss tagging advice again. This time I wanna mention a couple of things with tagging trigger/content warnings
1) Try to use a common variant of a content tag, or just tag what the content is without any additions.
Examples include "thing", "tw thing", "thing tw", or any of the latter two but replacing "tw" with "cw". This is to avoid creating extra work for those trying to filter certain content (and to avoid potentially triggering them by using a variant they likely don't have filtered!!).
2) If a post is directed at people who will be avoiding the content, don't tag the content.
A recent example you might've seen is Goncharov, the pretend mafia movie that Tumblr collectively created (and is still creating) lore and information for. If you're posting/reblogging a poster, trailer, audio, etc. for the movie that does not exist, DO tag such posts as "unreality". If the post is not itself Goncharov content and is instead discussing the fact that it is not a real movie, do NOT tag that as unreality, because someone who could be avoiding unreality due to how it affects them could miss otherwise extremely helpful information!
Let's take another example: If someone is afraid of bees, warning for bees on a video showing bees would be helpful because the person afraid of bees will not be shown the bees, and thus no fear response is triggered. Warning for bees on a post discussing how to manage fear symptoms, how to avoid bees, or similar content that is made with people afraid of bees in mind means that someone who is afraid of bees does not see the helpful post and does not gain info that could make their lives easier.
3) Tag the content or trigger, but do not tag the thing being triggered.
The most common place I see this is with flashing lights. People will often tag content with flashing images or bright lights with "epilepsy" or "epilepsy tw". Now the people with photosensitive epilepsy do not have a tag to discuss their own symptoms or talk to each other on how to manage it. This means they have to create a specific tag that's JUST for them that people who are new will not know about. Instead tag "flashing" or "flashing lights". Remember, you are warning people with photosensitive epilepsy (and other photosensitive people!!) about flashing images that could trigger their symptoms. You are not warning people with epilepsy about epilepsy itself.

Okay, so, apparently, we need a fucking crash-course.
TW, or trigger-warning, and CW, or content-warning, tags are often used by people who want to AVOID that content. It means that the post above might mention or include something that might be triggering.
For example, if I am posting something about a racist stereotype in Star Wars, I'll tag it #TW: racism and #TW: racial stereotypes.
These #TW and #CW tags are most often used by people discussing these issues. So, it might be attached to a news post discussing systemic racism or a reblog responding to a post that was problematic.
It is usually not used by someone who is, say, being racist. Because they don't see what they're saying or doing as a problem worthy of warning people.
In fandom spaces, we often warn for something like #TW: MCD or #TW: tragedy in our fan-work. But we often pair that with a seemingly redundant tag that serves a completely different function. It's the tag some may use for filtering, but it is often one used for finding content. Looking for a piece with a Major Character Death? You search up #MCD. Looking to avoid pieces with a Major Character Death? You filter #TW: MCD and #MCD
In the Star Wars fandom, kinder people will use #TW: clonecest or #TW: master/padawan to warn people that these things are in or mentioned in a post. If they're creating something for the fans of clonecest, they will pair this with #clonecest.
Someone who wants to avoid clonecest fan-works may block #clonecest. However, they may not block #TW: clonecest because then they miss posts discussing something like fetishization of MOC in the SW fandom. Or maybe because they use the tag in their essays discussing these issues.
When the person making a post mentions clonecest in their essay on fetishization and tags it #TW: clonecest and #TW: clonecest mention, they have tagged this correctly.
SO WHEN YOU COME INTO THEIR COMMENTS AND START RAILING ON THEM FOR PUTTING THEIR "ANTI-SHIPPING BULLSHIT" IN THEIR TAGS, KNOW THAT YOU ARE LOOKING IN THE WRONG-FUCKING TAG.

I'm back!
Tl,dr: I'm changing my tagging system, so change your blacklist accordingly.
Hi everyone!! I missed you guys. šŸ’ššŸ’š How's everyone been? I've opened up my ask box again so feel free to say hi!
Housekeeping notes:
I'll be changing up my blog's tagging system a little, so you might need to block some more tags to make sure you're only seeing the content you want to see.
Accessibility: I do image descriptions on pictures to make them accessible for screenreaders and anyone else who might need them. Here's a post on what they are and why they're important. I've been tagging my own IDs, whether for my image or a reblog on someone else's, with #image described. If the ID isn't mine, it's tagged as #has id.
If, for whatever reason, I can't ID an image, I'll tag it as #no id. If you use a screenreader, you might want to block it. This is also the tag I've been using for other universally screenreader-unfriendly posts (eg emojipastas), but I'm going to start using #screenreaders don't look, so if you need to, please block that tag as well.
I'm also aware that some screenreaders will support certain languages, but not others. For example, my laptop's screenreader will read Chinese or Japanese characters as "unidentified ideograph! unidentified ideograph!" extremely loudly and it's very annoying. And some screenreaders support Chinese characters but won't read Arabic. Et cetera. To get around this, I'll be tagging with with #[language] characters for the individual languages. For example, #chinese characters on posts that contain Chinese characters. No need to block every language in existence--these are the ones that might show up on my blog:
#chinese characters for posts on Xing and/or me being a Chinese person unable to shut up about cool culture things
#japanese characters because that's FMA's original language
#arabic letters, possibly, for worldbuilding-related things
#hebrew letters, also possibly for worldbuilding
If one of those is a language your screenreader doesn't support, block it!
Additionally, I'll get around to changing my blog theme at some point. It's been the default theme since I made this in December šŸ˜‚ If anyone knows of simple, dark themes that are accessible (like a dyslexic-friendly font, screenreader-friendly layout, etc) please let me know!
Content warnings: I used to tag my posts as "#[content] tw" (To stand for "trigger warning." For example, "#death tw" on a post about death). I'll be changing that to "#[content] cw" which stands for "content warning" - I feel like "content warning" better represents all the reasons someone might have a certain tag filtered. So if there's content you want to avoid, please make sure you have the the tag blacklisted with "cw"! If there's something specific you want me to tag, shoot me an ask and I'll make sure it's always tagged.
Temporary intro (since this'll be my pinned post for a bit)
Hi!! I'm Aure (she/her) and I'm obsessed with FMA. I especially love analyzing the homunculi or fleshing out Xingese culture, and I will LOVE you if you ask me about my homunculi headcanons or my Xingese Roy headcanons. I am in the Chinese diaspora and have adhd, so Roy's my favorite character to project on, lol.
I write metas and headcanon posts sometimes. I also write image descriptions, and it is my mission to get the FMA fandom to make their stuff accessible ā¤ļø So I reblog and ID art to both hype up cool creators and help them make it accessible. If I've gotten something wrong in an ID of your work, send me an ask and I'll fix it.
(I also should mention. since a lot of y'all said you followed me for the memes. that. the memes exist hehe)
I'm aureshadow on AO3.

Envy used to have debates like that with Lust.
An absurd picture popped into Envy’s head of having a pseudo-angry conversation like that with someone who wasn’t a sibling. A human. Having someone look at them like that couple looked at each other. Something in their chest contracted.
ā€œPride’s really driving me crazy now, huh,ā€ they muttered. ā€œImagine me, Envy, stooping down to the level of those worms.ā€ Their eyes watered a little - they hadn’t slept too much. ~~~ Mrs. Bradley wants her son to make friends, and Pride enlists Envy to be a fake friend. Envy isn’t good at acting - not like Pride is. Not like Lust was. But they’ll try their best, and they’ll make Father happy. If it’s unpleasant, they’ll use memories of inflicting horrors of humans to cheer themself up. An exploration of Envy’s relationship with Pride, grief over Lust, and resentment towards humans for the unconditional love that Envy never had.
