i know that uhura’s role in tos was written to be like a radioman (the guy in wwii movies who carries the phone on his back sometimes) meaning that the “communications officer” role evolved from radioman to linguist in the time since tos aired. but that makes uhura in tos really interesting with a retrospective read of her character, applying things novels and later iterations of her have fleshed out, because she doesn’t do any visible linguistic work in any tos episode. she does security and navigation and piloting and engineering which sort of makes her seem like a valuably flexible sort of many-skilled officer.
it was probably both enterprise with hoshi and the 2009 movie that really cemented the idea of “communications officer means linguist or at the very least polyglot” instead of it just being an uhura-quirk. uhura in the 2009 movie does a lot of engineering/operating work of comm equipment and is implied to speak a lot of languages on top of be able to interpret subspace “noise, so to speak (like, there’s no way it’s radio. it can’t be radio. star trek takes place across distances of lightyears—when they say “signal,” i’m assuming it’s not radio). and of course strange new worlds has run with the linguistics angle and made it even more explicit that yes she studies linguistics, linguistics is a core part of starfleet academic infrastructure, to the point where whole episode plots are written around the act of translation.
the retrospective addition of this expertise to uhura makes what she is in tos a character even more focused on leadership and, idk, becoming something like a captain, because she doesn’t seem all that specialized. she’s more of a kirk-like character, or janeway or sisko, characters that have a specialized skill but have set it aside mostly to pursue some sort of command. obviously this wasn’t the intention of her character. writers of uhura have mostly just stumbled on the idea of her as a polyglot (according to wikipedia, first introduced in the novel uhura’s song, so) and been like “neat idea! makes sense! explorers need to learn languages!” and kept doubling down on that idea until we get to an origin-story uhura in snw that (wildly) speaks 37 languages, for whatever definition of speak or language, i guess.
what all this overthinking on my part has generated is this idea of uhura very much like a futuristic-captain aubrey or a captain sisko not nailed down to one station, hanging off the shrouds of a solar-sail ship’s rigging, looking beyond, in the most romantic and idealized version of an explorer. i think a lot of people read/write female characters as being more down-to-earth than the whimsical leader-on-the-sea or more nurturing than than the hardened captain-of-a-ship, partly why janeway and burnham are so wonderful to me. but it’s fun to imagine tos uhura being the exploring-captain archetype, amongst the political structures of the 60s. like the additions to her character over the years have solidified that romantic adventurer portrait of her in tos, when the idea of her in command would be the least welcome.
and the fact that she was shown to be excited about a solar sailing ship in snw, like sisko was in ds9 for that one episode, i think emphasizes this read of her—and that her character-journey in snw is going to be how she goes from bookish linguist to “hanging-on-a-shroud-on-a-sunsail-ship” looking out to “sea”.

first catching fire re-read post sotr and there's ofc a multitude of things, however idk if I'm seeing anyone else talk about this specific thing which is CHAFF. and WHAT WAS HE UP TO in that arena
so him and haymitch were close and obviously haymitch is now confirmed badboy rebel rule breaker troublemaker, so it kinda makes sense for chaff to be the same? something like refusing a prosthetic arm, a bit of a smack in the face to the capitol. 11 is mentioned as having knowledge of the plan to break the arena and escape to 13, but in catching fire it's not confirmed how either seeder or chaff is killed in the arena. them and district 8 are the district pairs with knowledge of the rebel plan who don't end up in the alliance (or at least interacting with katniss and peeta in the alliance) during their time in the arena.
seeder, along with the two tributes from 8 (cecelia and woof my babies) and one from 6, is killed at some unknown point in the bloodbath. bur then chaff apparently doesn't make any effort at all throughout the games to connect with katniss' alliance, whether to hunt or help them. the arena is small and katniss & co spend plenty of time on the beach, in the open. the arena is small. they're not hard to find.
chaff is not with the career pack. he spends his time alone. it would make plenty of sense for him to join the allies - a friend of haymitch would have to be a friend of katniss and peeta's, plus he and seeder knew at least something of the plan. so why didn't he join them? why wouldn't he seek them out to better protect katniss & peeta and further ensure the success and security of beetee's scheme?? finnick and johanna clearly had good communication with haymitch, so would know which of the districts were in in the plan and joining the alliance, right? neither finnick or johanna ever really mention chaff - a strong, capable and popular tribute - yet make extreme effort to rescue mags and wiress, who are realistically liabilities who aren't essential to the plan. so where was chaff? why never make any effort to find him??
unless he had a job. a specific role. a task. set by plutarch or beetee or himself. who knows. but why else would he prowl the arena alone??
call me crazy but what if there was a sub-team, of sorts. 8 and 11. maybe 6. but it didn't work out like it did for katniss and finnick, and most of them lost their lives in the bloodbath. so chaff had to go it alone. but he still had a job, a task that he NEEDED to fulfil.
I'm also now seeing a striking resemblance to thresh - prowling the arena alone, mysterious. perhaps on a mission? whether personal or from the rebels, I firmly believe that these two were both up to something at their respective games. think of haymitch, going it alone to achieve his goal, a child sent as an operative to hurt the arena and the capitol and snow. surely chaff had a larger purpose than going it alone for his own safety. especially after all we learn about him and haymitch and seeder and thresh and district 11. and plutarch doesn't like to be unprepared, right? so maybe there were even more ploys in that arena. further scemes and plans and moving parts. who knows what thresh might have been up to.
just a thought.

Ok so mermay is over but Merman Joseph is so funny tho lol. Love that you kept the "crawling away while playing dead" part 🤣
What are your HCs for him? Imagine if after their little incident he becomes curious of Y/N and tries to see them again?
-Mermay may be over but mer AUs live in my heart and brain all year round anon. I'm glad you liked that part it honestly had me giggling the entire time writing it imagining it happening.
Went with some general hcs for Mer!Joseph, as well as how he'd be post-meeting!-
⋅˚₊‧ ଳ ‧₊˚ ⋅𓇼 ⋆。˚⋅˚₊‧ ଳ ‧₊˚ ⋅𓇼 ⋆。˚⋅˚₊‧ ଳ ‧₊˚ ⋅𓇼 ⋆。˚⋅˚₊‧ ଳ ‧₊˚ ⋅𓇼 ⋆。˚⋅˚₊‧ ଳ ‧₊˚ ⋅𓇼 ⋆。˚⋅˚.ଳ
General HCs
★ Joseph’s hotheaded nature comes mostly from being one of the only young mers in his pod growing up. Younger mers rely a lot on being socialized young, to acclimatize to different social climates but also to make it easier to integrate with other sea creatures and merfolk. This is typically accomplished within the local hierarchy, since a standard pod usually consists of many family units; and depending on the area and general population, maintaining connections with the other local pods is vital to avoiding conflict of interest.
★ Joseph however grew up in a relatively small pod with just him, his grandmother and uncle Speedwagon, so Joseph can be…touchy around others. It’s not for lack of trying of course; Granny Erina and Speedwagon did their best to help him socialize amongst the mers that they knew, and often encouraged him to take a calmer approach. Try as they might, his reckless nature was just something that Joseph simply couldn’t shake with age, and more often than not he puts his fin in it interacting with others.
★ It’s unspoken, but a lot of that is because Joseph is veeeery protective over his podmates. While Erina has been more than capable of caring for herself and those that have come and gone from their pod in her years, the poor mermaid has been through enough hardship to last a lifetime. The same goes for Speedwagon too, and Joseph will be damned if he doesn’t make sure tragedy never befalls them again; if he happens to stir up trouble and twist up some fins for any other mers, so what?
★ With that being said he’s still a troublemaker - will antagonize the bigger fish just for the hell of it, sunbathe on whaleback undeterred even when they roll him off or if he’s too close to the blowhole just straight up rocket him off. His granny warned him on getting close to humans, but of course those warnings could only stem the tide of his curiosity for so long (he thinks it’s because she’s worried about what they’d do to him if he got caught. It’s actually because of what he’d do - which in the end only served as a self fulfilling prophecy.)
★Is on a larger scale compared to most merfolk in regards to size, which seeing his grandfather isn’t all that surprising. Out of all of the joestars, Jonathan was certainly the largest mer of the bloodline but Joseph is a very close second. Has a brighter color scheme too - greens and teals with faint yellow patterning that are only really visible under bright, direct lighting.
★ His tail and markings were a lot darker and duller when he was younger, as are most young mers in their early years. With time though as he grew his tail took on the bright hues that you see today; a beautifully vibrant shade, but it makes him terrible at camouflage and any attempts to blend in. Joseph stands out like a sore thumb, and has an equally bold attitude to match - he’s loud and proud and ready to rope someone into his next mischievous scheme.
Post-Meeting HCs
★ Joseph makes good on his promise to get you those fish and then some that same first meeting. Despite assumptions that he’d disappear the moment he’d sunk back under the waves, you’d been pleasantly surprised when he reappears half an hour later to unceremoniously dump an armful of fish across your deck with a grin that just screamed expecting praise.
★ He makes a couple more of these trips; granted, he eats more than his fair share in between and you have to scold him on the mess that he’s making on the floor since he’s got as much dinner etiquette as a dog. The sun hangs low in the sky by the time you have to start directing the boat back to shore. The moment you do he’s gone from the boat before you can blink - doesn’t even really give you a chance for a proper goodbye aside from a shout that he’ll see you around before sinking out of view - whatever that means.
★ Joseph checks to make sure that you’re definitely leaving - certainly not just to watch this weird human he’s just met hop off of your boat and vanish into the mainland hefting the haul he’d snagged for you until he physically can’t see you anymore.
★ Yeah. That’s definitely not a thing he did.
★…Okay maybe for a second.
★ Once the initial adrenaline rush of your first meeting wore off (because even with his foolhardy front and his size, you’re the first human that he’s ever had a close encounter with) Joseph quite literally cannot stop thinking about you. At first it’s the exhilarating feeling of pulling such a risky stunt and having it work out in his favor; not just his usual antics but an honest to god encounter with a human?
★ The entire swim back home he feels like he could take on the ocean, wanting to brag to any and all passing mers about it - quickly decides against it upon realizing neither granny Erina nor Speedwagon would be particularly pleased to know he’d ended up in such a perilous (not) situation - Erina definitely would have him by the gills about it, even if he’d come back in one piece.
★ That rush fades however when he realizes with a sudden clarity. What had convinced you let him go? Better yet, though you were equally scared at first you’d relaxed around him just as fast, going from tense to snarky yet forthcoming the moment you’d mutually clocked that you posed no threat to the other. You’d taken the time to set him free, didn’t ask for anything in return in spite of the damage he’d caused to the metal monster you had hanging off of the tail of your boat. You never made any plans to see him again either, none that you mentioned, anyway. And for the mer that just won’t do, now that he’s met you.
★ It’s a few days before he sees you again. You’re further out to sea this time, and with no net in sight now he doesn’t have to worry himself over getting caught…again. There’s no grand flourish this time around, no theatrics of having to be rescued or arguing as you’d freed him. He glides up alongside your boat with ease, sliding his arms up along the handrail till he can comfortably rest his weight against it and pulling himself up to wait you out.
★ Joseph’s smile is all teeth watching you walk by with a passing glance, only to hastily backtrack with a double take at the sight of the merman hanging over the railing acting like he’s always been there. He plays it up too, giving a nonchalant whistle and complaining that you sure kept him waiting - worry no more, your favorite mer has arrived to keep you company!
★That is to say, you’ll never know peace again thanks to this Joestar.
★ Every trip out to sea from this point forward is now spent in the company of the overly chatty and overactive merman.
★ He tries to take you by surprise, which when it comes to Joseph who is about as sneaky as a foghorn, rarely works. The one time he did catch you off guard he’d taken a magazine to the face for his effort - it was a knee jerk reflex when you’d looked up from reading just to find Joseph’s foolishly grinning mug nose to nose with you. Your magazine was sentenced to a watery grave for the trouble as he’d rolled right off of the handrail with it still stuck to his face, so you’d called it even when he’d resurfaced scrambling to peel back the soaked pages.
★ The questions. Never. Stop. Many a trip is spent with him floating beside your boat, hands laced behind his head and tail creating ripples along the water’s surface while he poses hypotheticals and prods you for answers.
★ Joseph is curious by nature, and there’s enough of a barrier between marine life and humanfolk that there’s plenty about humans he knows nothing about. Sure, there are mers that have interacted with humans before, but this is his chance to learn from the source; he’ll conveniently ignore the part where you tell him you’re not a mouthpiece for the whole of humanity. He has no qualms rattling questions off to you the second they run through his mind, which also means they completely bypass any filters. You don’t know if he’s too blunt to know better, or if he’s just genuinely that curious to know, but what you do know is that he catches all of your attempts to sidestep some of his questions, and will whine your ear off about them until you finally cave.
★It’s not for naught though, because Joseph’ll bring you things in return. This is typically reserved for close podmates only, but for you he’ll make an exception; he’s not much of a stickler for traditions, anyway.
★ He says it’s to pay you back - you make a good human teacher (said by a mer whose only frame of reference is you and that one fisher who was thankfully  drunk enough to mistake your scaled friend as a skinny dipper with a skin condition the one time Joseph tried scouting another passing boat.) You learn quickly that it’s also because it gives him excuses to shower you in the ocean’s bounty.
★ If it looks shiny, or remotely pretty it’s going straight into your hands the next time that he sees you. There’s a real proud look in his eye seeing you appraise what he brings you - and if you tell him that you’re taking them home? You don’t hear the end of it for the entire day. His gifts? Going to your home on land? Where you can be reminded of him whenever you see them? You have 0 clue, being a human, but it makes him happy so what’s the harm? The prettier pieces you may even end up using to decorate your cabin window if you like them enough.
★ Joseph has posed the question on how other humans would react to him a few times. He’d be lying if he said he hadn’t thought about it before meeting you, and sees this as a chance to get a definitive answer. Will get huffy if you burst his bubble with any kind of talk about probably being turned into a scientific discovery or sideshow; but you could probably win him back at the idea of ending up in the record books (he has 0 idea what those are, but they sound important enough to tide him over.)
★ Joseph’s bold, that’s a given. Bold enough that he starts daring getting closer and closer to shore the more time the pair of you spend together. You come to see him at sea all the time, so why doesn’t he return the favor?
★ Other people are the reason, you have to remind him. Dozens of people, especially in the middle of the day when everyone and their cat could potentially see the very obvious merman circling around your boat because he got impatient waiting for you to show up. That stunt had almost gotten you both caught, if people passing by had been just a little more observant. Thankfully you were spared that particular tragedy, though Joseph definitely didn’t appreciate the earful he got over it later. Next time he tried it was far later in the night, and on a less commercial part of the shoreline, much to your relief.
★At first Joseph keeps this newfound bond to himself - it’s mostly so he doesn’t get chewed out about it, but there’s no fooling anybody that he wants to selfishly keep this time with you to himself. Who else can say that they have a human friend? Someone who knows him and despite his abrasiveness still looks out for him? He wants to chase this feeling for as long as he’s able, consequences be damned.
★ This doesn’t last forever, because of course it can’t. Caesar catches him halfway to your boat one time and the jig is up the second he sees Joseph circling your ship. The blonde merman had just about tore him a new one upon catching up with the Joestar, even more so when your head had appeared from over the railing to query Joseph on the hold up only to freeze at the sight of one more mer than you were used to.
★ For a moment it was so worth it seeing Caesar pale just a bit at the sight of you, feeling awfully smug as he made a show of throwing an arm over your shoulder and introducing you as his human (and almost pulling you overboard in the process). Oh he was definitely going to hear about this later, but whether it’s his pod that gets to him first or you for keeping you a secret was another story.

cult of the lamb au idea
what if it's more like actual cults
There isn't any magical powers just manipulation and tricks to make the bishops seem powerful. They are only powerful because people will obey them. Also the idea of kallamar specifically having a multi level marketing/ponzi scheme/pyramid scheme cult is kinda funny to me.
Leshy runs his cult with basically just charisma. They like him to the point that they don't notice his manipulation at least not easily. He has random tests of faith that might involve pain, fear and maybe mushrooms.
Heket's cult is more based around taking in people who are hungry. She provides food and gives her followers the illusion of control over their life. She also sometimes sabotages food sources so that more will join her.
Kallamar like I said has a pyramid scheme cult. People follow him because their optimistic about how he can help them. Every now and then he gives gifts to followers to convince them that they're loved by him. He's also good at using music and settings to make people feel extreme emotions which helps people believe he has some supernatural powers.
Shamura's cult used to be much larger but is now mainly just made up of people that are greatly attached to them or have nowhere else to go. However before their injury they used their natural strength and knowledge of psychology and sociology to make themselves seem powerful. Most of their current followers don't really think of them as a god but those that do believe their God has been injured by another god and needs believers to care for them.
Narinder's cult was very small before his imprisonment mainly because he had a habit of killing followers often. It was a bit of a doomsday cult but never reached the doomsday part because of the others deciding that his willingness to kill was a threat to their cults. They fought him and locked him up in the end.
Ratau's cult was very short lived mainly because he wasn't that good at portraying himself as a above the others. It was more of a short lived camp.
Lamb's cult is a mixture of providing for followers and shows of power. They have a lot of knowledge about plants and nature so they use this to make it seem as though they have some control over these things when really they just know how to predict weather patterns and how to get crops to grow fast and big.
i think I might call this the false faith au

every good intention (4)
warnings: misunderstandings, assumptions, pre-AA, panic attack
-
Roman had been thinking.
Contemplating, really. There were a surplus of mystifying elements to consider as of late, especially now that he’d found out about Logan and Anxiety’s secret tryst.
(He was fairly certain that platonic cuddling between a repressed nerd and an awkward emo didn’t actually qualify as a tryst, but it sounded much more dramatic that way.)
He was no Logic, but as a charming and exceptional denizen of Thomas’s mind, he naturally had wits aplenty of his own.
And so arrived his realization: When it came to the puzzle that was his interactions with Anxiety the past few weeks, there was a pattern.
When Roman ran into the eyeliner-extraordinaire as himself, he was treated to the same prickly reception as always: Anxiety was a creepy, annoying asshole who loved to undermine Roman’s every idea and probably Thomas’s every happy thought, too.
The few occasions that he’d run into Anxiety in his cursed form, however, told a new story. One Roman had never heard before.
When faced with the tiny fire-breathing lizard version of Roman, Anxiety acted entirely differently. Instead of hunched shoulders and purposefully agitating smirks, he wore a casual, slouched posture and wry amusement— even when Roman was actively antagonizing him.
He didn’t act like a villain. When faced with what he believed to be a small, easily-conquered creature, Anxiety hadn’t taken the opportunity to attack, hurt, or even merely frighten him. Not even after Roman had bitten him.
Roman the Side, on the other hand, was given no such grace. He’d even tried to tone down his usual assertiveness in favor of a careful neutrality when running into Anxiety, curious about the strange truce Logan had formed with him, but to no avail.
Without the barrier of barbed bantering between them, Anxiety only seemed to grow more defensive and on-edge, paradoxically enough.
The answer was obvious: Anxiety must have some strange affinity for dragons.
It was the only possible explanation for Roman’s bizarre undersized form garnering a kinder welcome than Creativity, clearly the optimal being between the two. Anxiety simply had an affection for the sharp and scary, and a disdain for Disney Princes.
Of course, that didn’t explain the way he treated Patton with care when nobody was watching, or the lack of backstabbing he’d brought to the midnight cuddlefest. Thus, it all had to be part of some larger plot!
Roman wasn’t as experienced in predicting plotting, seeing as it wasn’t a particularly heroic activity.
Luckily, he had the perfect spy to send in to uncover the truth behind Anxiety’s more bewildering behavior: himself!
Thus, the next time Roman found himself with wings, scales, and a tail, he strode down the hall towards Anxiety’s room with confidence that was only a little faux.
He’d worried for a bit that it wasn’t a very gentlemanly thing to do, invading one’s privacy, but this particular opportunity had come about after a spectacular tiff between the two of them, and Roman found that his reservations had suddenly vanished.
Anxiety certainly hadn’t been holding back when he’d poked at Roman’s every sore spot in the brainstorming today. Roman wanted— no, needed to uncover the motives of his scheme, so he could go back to giving every argument his all too, without wondering how things might be different between them.
Anxiety’s room was usually sealed up tight, but occasionally he would leave it cracked, presumably because the sight of it sitting just slightly ajar at the shadowed end of the hall prompted exactly the sort of unease that he loved to inspire in everyone.
Fortune must have smiled on Roman today, for when he trotted closer, he found that the door was indeed not fully closed.
Taking a deep breath, Roman steeled himself and then headbutted the door firmly, pushing it the slightest bit further open so that he could wriggle his strange little wyrm-like body through.
It made a horrendous creaking sound, eliciting a wince from Roman but absolutely no response from the figure flopped over on the bed in the middle of the shadowed room.
Wary now, Roman crept forward bit by bit, until he spotted the outline of bulky headphones. So that was why his entrance had gone unnoticed by the twitchiest Side in the Mindscape.
Hesitant to grab Anxiety’s attention right away— he would have to be in a foul mood after their altercation today too, wouldn’t he?— Roman instead clambered up the side of a padded armchair, pausing to glance around at the rest of the room curiously.
For such a grimdark and gloomy guy, Anxiety certainly had excellent taste in Disney decor. He would love something like that Nightmare Before Christmas poster in his own room, perhaps an entire section of the wall dedicated to a collage of the more aesthetically appealing Disney classic poster— no, focus!
Shaking himself out of the theoretical redecorating, Roman leapt nimbly to the bedside table, flaring his wings slightly on instinct to muffle the impact of his landing.
When he turned to check that Anxiety was still unaware, however, the sight that greeted him was shocking enough to strike him dumb.
Anxiety’s eyes weren’t on him, because they were cinched tightly closed. He had both hands wound firmly into his hair, face twisted into a panicked grimace as he struggled to inhale a full lungful of air. His panic was practically tangible in the air— Roman felt his own heart rate begin to rise as though in empathy.
His startled question (“Are you okay?!”) came out as a warbling call, one that didn’t make it through the emo soundtrack blasting from those headphones.
After a brief moment of hesitation— why was he so nervous?— Roman made the short leap to the bed, landing with a slight pressure that instantly made Anxiety’s red-rimmed eyes shoot open.
He backpedaled slightly at the way Anxiety sat bolt upright, but in the next moment, the tension seemed to drain slightly from the other Side.
“Bitey,” he greeted, and the wobble in his voice was so alarming that Roman didn’t even snap his teeth in his usual protest of the nickname. “I don’t think you should— should be in here, bud. You may not be affected by the room itself, but I'm… I’m not great company right now.”
Roman kneaded the comforter beneath his talons for a moment indecisively, earning a shaky half-smile from Anxiety. It could be part of some larger plot, but… Roman was the most dedicated actor out of them all, and he didn’t feel like this was an act.
Carefully, his heart pounding in his ears, he crept forward and butted his head against Anxiety’s knee in a meagre attempt at comfort.
Anxiety let out a stuttering, painfully-shallow sounding exhale, and then reached down and picked him up, supporting him with the curve of one arm as he curled around Roman in an unmistakable hug.
The moment they made contact, Roman felt a burst of all-consuming panic that didn’t belong to him, spiked and piercing into every vulnerable bit until there wasn’t any calm left.
It was an echo, emotional feedback from the panic attack that Anxiety was having, and it was a perfect mirror of every fright and fear he’d faced while this size, all at once.
Oh. Oh.
Anxiety hadn’t been kind to him because of reptilian favoritism, after all. It was because he was more than familiar with the sort of flipped-beetle vulnerability that came with feeling afraid, the defensive bared teeth of the fight bit of fight-or-flight. He wasn’t just the cause of Thomas’s anxiety, he was the experience of anxiety itself.
That put… a lot of things into perspective, actually.
Roman pushed his head against Anxiety’s sternum, returning the hug as best he could.
He had a lot of re-thinking to do.

Is there, like, a story behind salt your stink?
In the beginning there was VOID, who had two daughters; one (the smaller) was that of BEING, named ERIS, and one (the larger) was of NON- BEING, named ANERIS. (To this day, the fundamental truth that Aneris is the larger is apparent to all who compare the great number of things that do not exist with the comparatively small number of things that do exist.)
Eris had been born pregnant, and after 55 years (Goddesses have an unusually long gestation period-- longer even than elephants), Her pregnancy bore the fruits of many things. These things were composed of the Five Basic Elements, SWEET, BOOM, PUNGENT, PRICKLE, and ORANGE. Aneris, however, had been created sterile. When she saw Eris enjoying Herself so greatly with all of the existent things She had borne, Aneris became jealous and finally one day she stole some existent things and changed them into non- existent things and claimed them as her own children. This deeply hurt Eris, who felt that Her sister was unjust (being so much larger anyway) to deny Her her small joy. And so She made herself swell again to bear more things. And She swore that no matter how many of her begotten that Aneris would steal, She would beget more. And, in return, Aneris swore that no matter how many existent things Eris brought forth, she would eventually find them and turn them into non-existent things for her own. (And to this day, things appear and disappear in this very manner.)
At first, the things brought forth by Eris were in a state of chaos and went in every which way, but by the by She began playing with them and ordered some of them just to see what would happen. Some pretty things arose from this play and for the next five zillion years She amused Herself by creating order. And so She grouped some things with others and some groups with others, and big groups with little groups, and all combinations until She had many grand schemes which delighted Her.
Engrossed in establishing order, She finally one day noticed disorder (previously not apparent because everything was chaos). There were many ways in which chaos was ordered and many ways in which it was not.
"Hah," She thought, "Here shall be a new game."
And She taught order and disorder to play with each other in contest games, and to take turns amusing each other. She named the side of disorder after Herself, "ERISTIC" because Being is anarchic. And then, in a mood of sympathy for Her lonely sister, She named the other side "ANERISTIC" which flattered Aneris and smoothed the friction a little that was between them.
Now all of this time, Void was somewhat disturbed. He felt unsatisfied for he had created only physical existence and physical non- existence, and had neglected the spiritual. As he contemplated this, a great Quiet was caused and he went into a state of Deep Sleep which lasted for 5 eras. At the end of this ordeal, he begat a brother to Eris and Aneris, that of SPIRITUALITY, who had no name at all.
When the sisters heard this, they both confronted Void and pleaded that he not forget them, his First Born. And so Void decreed thus:
That this brother, having no form, was to reside with Aneris in Non-Being and then to leave her and, so that he might play with order and disorder, reside with Eris in Being. But Eris became filled with sorrow when She heard this and then began to weep.
"Why are you despondent?" demanded Void, "Your new brother will have his share with you." "But Father, Aneris and I have been arguing, and she will take him from me when she discovers him, and cause him to return to Non- Being." "I see,"replied Void, "Then I decree the following:
"When your brother leaves the residence of Being, he shall not reside again in Non-Being, but shall return to Me, Void, from whence he came. You girls may bicker as you wish, but My son is your Brother and We are all of Myself."
And so it is that we, as men, do not exist until we do; and then it is that we play with our world of existent things, and order and disorder them, and so it shall be that non-existence shall take us back from existence and that nameless spirituality shall return to Void, like a tired child home from a very wild circus.

ah, my darling little archivist, you ask such plain questions... understandable, but nonetheless, plain. worse yet, difficult to respond too without drawing back the veil far too much for my liking.
ill give you some breadcrumbs, though I think you'll find better answers with more exiting queries.
First question, though I do not expect a direct answer - what are you? How would you describe yourself?
you are right in your assumption that I am not a plain creature. I will tell you that you do not know my true form. not yet. if I have lived in your source world, I doubt I am the same here as I was there and I do not remember having met you before. well, at least not without a mask.
Second question- what are you trying to achieve? You imply larger plans and twisting schemes, but to what end?
my full scheme and the affects it may have on your community will remain hidden as of now. however, I can say that in all honesty I am looking for entertainment. being something such as myself, it gets boring, archivist. very, horribly boring...
and when I woke up, I was oh so hungry. or, hangry? is that a word you use these days? ah, nonetheless I was practically starving for entertainment. and then I found you! you, my beautiful little vermin, who share my lust for entropy, have already been feeding yourselves. and it smells wonderful.
so naturally, i indulge myself in this delectable four course meal I am presented.
why you, and not the billions of other equally chaotic cesspits? luck. bad or good, but at the end of the day it was just a matter of chance.
What is your relationship to The Muppet Joker? You were drawn to him - he seems to know you, at least on a spiritual level, even if he does not know how. You spark a great fear in him - why is this?
this will have to remain undisclosed, as of now. id hate to ruin the fun. that being said, muppet joker, i am hiding just beyond your consciousness. search within yourself, and you may find a lifeboat to cling to in this sea of uncertainty.
for better or for much, much worse, I like you. and id hate to watch you drown so soon...
as for who's skin I'm wearing, once again, that will be remaining undisclosed. but keep theorising, its very entertaining.
speaking of which, any theories? have you caught on yet? suspects?
on a final note, I am very open to any questions you, or any other vermin might have. sorry to hijack your account like this, but we all need a host sometimes, don't we? and I have a feeling you don't mind so long as it lets you know more.
if you have questions for me, I will answer them in my own special way. send them in to this lovely fellows statement box.
that goes for you too, archivist, keep them coming. and remember what I told you about entertaining questions. do have some cunning.
-the faceless
Do give me some credit, Faceless, I am a professional after all; that was merely my first set of questions for you in an on-going interview. Somewhat of a...litmus test, let's say. A baseline, a foundation - one which accomplished exactly what I had hoped it would.
Each small detail, each miniscule breadcrumb as you say, is a piece of the larger picture...and you have given me quite a lot to work with already. As for my theories...well...as you say, it would spoil the fun of our little game to give away everything too soon.
You wouldn't be the first to utilize the archive as your own personal record, so I do not mind. It is a public service after all, and you are correct...each interaction leads to more knowledge, and the archives are always hungry.
That being said, my assistant @muppet-blackwood did specifically request I send you his way for a chat, so please do not feel as though our relationship is exclusive - I won't be offended. Now, shall we continue our little tête-à-tête?
Ahem.
[STATEMENT CONTINUES]
Tell me more about your hunger...is this what drives you? Or is satisfying your appetites a secondary need that follows the inevitable consequences of your interference? Has your appetite been sated yet, or is such a thing even possible?
Видели ли вы в последнее время какие-нибудь интересные двери?
Clearly you've developed an interest in myself, and the main subject of my research, the-muppet-joker, but are there any other favorite toys you've collected? What - or more accurately who- are the other pieces you've set on your side of the chess board?
From what materials do you craft your many masks?
In terms of architecture...would you favor a tower or a dungeon? And what lying in wait at the center of your grand palatial maze?
Does rotten meat still taste fresh when one is starving?
I think that will do for now...I'm sure there will be others appearing with their own questions for you soon enough.
The Archive is always open.
Do Keep Watching 👁️

Yet Another Kingdom Hearts Revisit, Part V
This playthrough has been a blow to my pretensions of having a good memory. I'd completely forgotten that King Triton isn't the only good Disney character from outside Disney Castle who knows something about Keyblades and Keyholes. It makes perfect sense for the Genie to have some insight into them, but I really like that he knows less than Triton does. It's better for pacing reasons that he doesn't, but it also fits his character - I can't imagine that a magical being who spends so much time contemplating mid-20th century American pop culture while stuck in his lamp would keep his ancient legends straight.
Of all the Disney worlds in the series that try to condense their source films into the game, KH I's Agrabah is the most successful IMO. It's really the only level in the game that did so. Olympus Coliseum, Halloweentown, Monstro, and Neverland feature original stories, and Wonderland, Deep Jungle, and Atlantica use only pieces of their films (to greater and lesser degrees) in their stories. Agrabah has almost all the major elements of Aladdin in it: Aladdin's street rat origins, Jasmine's escape from the palace (albeit under entirely different circumstances) and her love affair with Aladdin, Jafar's scheming to take over Agrabah, the quest for the lamp in the Cave of Wonders, Genie's comedy, his freedom, and the three wishes. Even "Prince Ali" gets worked in. The only thing left out from the film is the finale where Aladdin and Jasmine get together.
Why it works here compared to later worlds in the series is that, despite using so much of the film, all of those elements are re-contextualized to fit the time frame that KH I had to work with and, more importantly, were modified to fit the needs of KH I's larger story. There's no room to fit the "Prince Ali" element proper into the plot, and if the attempt had been made, it would've been an abridged version lacking the comedic texture that makes it work in the movie, and it would have distracted from Sora's story and the plot of the League of Disney Villains. It was much better to make that a brief mention and have the three wishes applied to the battle with the Heartless.
And speaking of battling Heartless - Aladdin's in my Top 3 for Disney world battle partners in the entire series. The dude rocks. And Jafar makes for one of the more challenging two-part bosses in the game. Kurt Zisa is, for my money, the most difficult secret boss in the game, Sephiroth very much included. And that's (usually) a good thing! I like having to shift between physical and magical strategies, and I like that he's a boss that let you get good value out of the Summons (sadly, I wasn't able to duplicate my last playthrough, where I beat him with multiple Summons instead of just Tinkerbell and dumb luck at dodging his vertical spin after she bought me a free life).
Part of me wonders if Monstro and Agrabah shouldn't have been reversed in order. On the one hand, Riku nabbing Jasmine makes for a good shock and a sense of foreboding; the player knows how far gone he is at that point, but Sora doesn't. But why does Riku need the quest for the seven princesses explained at the end of Monstro when he's already captured one of them?
And I might as well cover Monstro in this post, as I don't have too much to say about him. This is one world where I agree with the complaints about KH I's platforming. I appreciate that the bowels of a space-whale should be a claustrophobic place, but the chambers are too small and too packed with crap to make the concept work in an enjoyably challenging way. Instead, it's just tedious.
Storywise, however, Monstro is a great turning point for Sora and Riku. Taking a cute Disney character hostage might be an easy way to sell moral decline, but it's so much more effective than three minutes of lore gibber-gabber by one-note pricks in black coats. And whichever executives at Square and Disney are responsible for giving the final OK to these games' plots should have made the staff re-watch this scene ahead of every scripting session since KH I. The first game as a whole works against later characterizations of Responsible Riku being the one to clean up after lazy, do-as-he-pleases Sora, but that scene and this world demonstrate most clearly how big a retcon that change was.

While this may be the third consideration on the list when buying your living room furniture, it is no less important. People like to relax on furniture nowadays and not sit straight backed as if in a Victorian sitting room. The harder it is to get out of the chair, the more comfy it is (of course not physically harder, that would imply a very deep seat!)

Organize cabinets with pull-out drawers and dividers for easy access. An efficient layout that keeps essentials within reach will make your small kitchen and dining area both functional and stylish.

Choose sleek, 4 space-saving design fixtures like wall-mounted sinks and floating vanities to free up floor space. Opt for recessed shelving to keep essentials organized without crowding the room.
Add layers of illumination to the space by blending natural light with strategically positioned lights. This will create the illusion of a larger space. Mirrors may provide more depth and enhance the light even further. You may have a small bathroom that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional with these useful advices.
Visual Elements in Small Apartments
Using interior design elements that convey a feeling of larger, more inviting areas is the key to making tiny apartments appear more visually appealing. Here’s how you can transform your small living space:
Color Schemes: Opt for light, neutral tones like whites, soft grays, and pastels. These colors reflect more light, creating an airy, open feel. To add depth, incorporate a few darker accents or bold pops of color in decor items like cushions or artwork.
Lighting: Maximize natural light by keeping windows unobstructed and using sheer curtains. Add artificial lighting to this to make every space brighter, such as wall sconces, floor lights, and ceiling fixtures. Even the tiniest area may seem larger with the right lighting placement.
Textures: To add some warmth without being crowded, use a range of textures. You can combine smooth materials like glass or polished wood with soft textiles like comfortable blankets and fluffy carpets. This will create a harmonious and inviting space.
Mirrors: Arrange mirrors so that they reflect light and provide the impression of a larger area. Your flat might seem instantly airier with a giant mirror on the main wall or smaller mirrors all throughout the place.
If you focus on these elements, you may create a stylish, spacious, and visually beautiful apartment. Your property will feel comfortable and stylish.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
There are problems involved in designing a tiny flat, and it’s simple to make blunders that impede comfort and space. Here are five common pitfalls and how to avoid them, especially in interior design in Bangladesh.
Overcrowding with Furniture: Filling a small space with too much furniture can make it feel cramped. Choose one of the multipurpose pieces such as a storage ottoman or a couch bed to make the most of available space.
Tumblr media
Ignoring Vertical Space: Many people forget to utilize vertical space, which can lead to cluttered surfaces. Use tall shelf systems or utilize wall-mounted storage to free up important living space to keep everything off the floor and tidy.
Bad Lighting Decisions: Having just one overhead light might cast harsh shadows and give the impression that the room is smaller. Layer lighting with wall sconces, floor lamps, and table lights to light the whole space and create a warm ambiance.
Using Dark Colors: Dark, heavy colors can make a small apartment feel even smaller. Opt for lighter shades to create a more open and airier feel. If you love bold colors, use them sparingly as accents.
Neglecting Storage Solutions: Lack of storage can quickly turn a small apartment into a cluttered mess. Invest in clever storage solutions like under-bed storage and wall-mounted shelving. You may also choose concealed compartments to keep your space functional and orderly.
You may build a well-thought-out, cozy living area that makes the most of your little flat by avoiding these typical blunders.
A Fresh Perspective
Every detail matters when transforming your small apartment. You can create a light, airy, and welcoming ambiance by carefully choosing your furniture, strategically placing your lighting, and making use of the vertical space available. HEEHEE HOOHOO HEROIC AU RAMBLES. (i call mine the Valorous AU because its sound is closer to Villainous and that's fun for an AU name :D i allow anyone to use that name if they wish. i just also get this comic going through my head each time i use the name -- "yet ANOTHER name to mean 'Villainous reverse AU' " -- but i won't stop XD ):
Tumblr media
ANYWAY
...THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A "BARE BONES BRIEF RAMBLE ABOUT THE CHARACTERS" BUT I'M INCAPABLE OF THAT. (THIS IS STILL A VERY PARTIAL SUMMARY OF THESE CHARACTERS XD) EAT UP, HEROIC AU ENJOYERS
(i might edit this in the next week or smth to include some little doodles of the characters and personality charts :p)
🔹 🐜 🌵 💣 🦡 🔹 🐜 🌵 💣 🦡 🔹 🐜 🌵 💣 🦡 🔹
🐜 WHITE HAT 🐜
cinnamon roll-est of cinnamon rolls. i tried really hard early on to figure out in what situations he might get some really cool "angry sharp toothed grin" moments because i LOVE that and. that's just not him. XD he is cinnamon roll
he WILL, however, lose his default small smile and sometimes even lose form or vaguely dissipate around the edges if he gets incredibly angry, sometimes in especially severe instances, even channeling some of his energy to carefully chosen (and maybe even purposefully created) lifeless universes just to release some of that otherwise destructive anger
he's almost like a scholar of human behavior in how he interacts with people. there's a lot of information for him to sift through, so he's often behind on things, but overall he has a calm demeanor that people appreciate and a lot of wisdom from living through hundreds, thousands, or more universes' lifespans
one concept that's important to me about my version of White Hat essentially equates to "avoiding activist burnout." it's a common thing in activism -- sometimes before someone even actually gets started -- to burn out and stop because you're trying to participate in too many causes or you see too little effect from what you're doing.
so, while this White Hat theoretically could access all of the multiverse, he mainly focuses on a relatively small cluster of universes. he definitely doesn't reach as many universes as Black Hat, but i like to think it's even possible that Black Hat doesn't know about "White Hat's universes" because White Hat's keeping them essentially hidden and protected from cosmic influences such as Black Hat's
this doesn't mean everything is perfect in White Hat's universes, since he tries, to a certain extent, to let them develop on their own, but ye :)
explanation for him getting the ant emoji near the end of the post, in the "some extra trivia" section XD
🌵 ALEGRÍA 🌵
I LOVE DEMENCIA. A SHOW CAN'T GIVE ME A HYPERACTIVE PUNK-SPIKE LIZARD-BASED CHARACTER (WHO'S OBSESSED WITH MY OWN FAVORITE CHARACTER OF THE SHOW LOL) AND EXPECT ME TO CHANGE THEM A LOT. THAT'D BE CRUEL AND UNUSUAL TORTURE
so Alegría ("joy" in Spanish -- she can go by the nickname Alé) loves making everything possible into a game and is a small local celebrity of an athlete and hero. her main job is teaching self-defense, altho she also does hero work when it makes sense. she sometimes volunteers at schools to get kids interested in physical education and health
she has a cactus-and-lizard motif going on mainly because i was trying to figure out how to give her a more cohesive color scheme, not for any symbolism of emotional prickliness XD she likes giving random gifts to people and leaves small items around town for people to pick up
i was delighted when i first watched the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022) because, since at least 2019 or 2020, i've had the idea of Alegría having desktop cacti that she puts googly eyes on. she likes cacti, and she likes to humanize them in a silly way. some of the larger cacti she owns, that wouldn't affect their growth too much by the extra weight, she even puts spiked punk bracelets and chokers on
she's distractible and forgetful, so she both carries a waterproof notebook with her as well as, among her arm-covering tattoos, has a tattoo that's essentially a drawing of a notebook page so she can write reminders there when needed
💣 DR. GULF 💣
GULF IS FLUG SPELLED BACKWARD AND A GULF IS "A LARGE AREA OF A SEA OR OCEAN PARTIALLY ENCLOSED BY LAND, ESPECIALLY A LONG LANDLOCKED PORTION OF SEA OPENING THROUGH A STRAIT," SO A SEA OR OCEAN TERM IS PERFECT FOR THIS SUBMARINE-OBSESSED MAN, ESPECIALLY SINCE FLUG'S NAME IN THE FIRST PLACE JUST MEANS "FLIGHT" (OR "PLANE CRASH" AS THE FULL "FLUGSLYS")
his starting concept was "has no respect for White Hat" because the first art i ever saw of a reverse Flug interacting with a White Hat was the AU Flug sitting in White Hat's lap but holding a gun to the latter's head. i was trying to come up with characters that more or less matched what other people had already come up with, to make playing off each other easier, but i couldn't find a whole lot of collected Heroic AU content at the time, so "no respect for his boss" seemed like a fair starting point XD (and i was still fine with whatever variations happened to arise)
Gulf originally ended up at White Hat's island because he wanted to get rid of and kill White Hat to help his family's weapon selling business. his family's doing just fine and is even incredibly powerful and wealthy, but he likes taking initiative and is considered the family's golden child. (that part stems from the current fan theory that Goldheart is Flug's brother, and that Flug was often kept at an emotional distance from his family.)
Gulf's plan failed, of course, and, through more attempts and then even some subsequent social interactions with White Hat, he..... is not quite FRIENDS with White Hat, but he realized he doesn't fully agree with what his family does, and he and White Hat are now quietly working together to figure out how to dismantle the power Gulf's family has over so many places of the world
also he has anger issues and White Hat lets him shoot him and try to blow him up on occasion to handle that anger. bomb emoji because he explodes stuff and White Hat
🦡 0.5.0. 🦡
pronounced "oh-five-oh." he's. just a bear. with unnatural coloring and a Venus fly trap on his head. canon 5.0.5.'s big thing to me was his anthropomorphization, so. yeah. 0.5.0. is just a bear XD if i were to make an 0.5.0. playlist, it might only have this one video (cussing warning)
he gets angry at Dr. Gulf at times, but he's trained well (read: possibly traumatized), and he doesn't cause messes, even sometimes doubling as an extra shelf or an assistant for incredibly basic things, such as fetching items
currently, he most frequently acts as an indirect bodyguard to Gulf ("indirect bodyguard" as in "most people won't go near a clearly agitated bear") and social interaction deterrent. he was one of Gulf's earliest experiments -- possibly even made as early as elementary school, hence the "fifty" as his name -- but Gulf kept him, and especially his surprisingly robust healing abilities, a secret from everyone, including his family, until he moved in with White Hat. (the only people who ever knew of 0.5.0. before then were torture subjects of Gulf and were killed shortly after.) so, at least Gulf's family can't just go "hey, look, a guy with massive orange bear. THAT'S where our boy went." (the name "Gulf" is probably an alias)
his emoji is a badger rather than a bear because he's very honey badger-esque (cussing and animals eating other animals warning) to anyone who's not Gulf (altho he's still often resentful toward Gulf), Alegría, or White Hat. (the latter two can hold their ground with him, so they're the only ones who can give him scritches. and they're the only ones who are WILLING to give him scritches.) (...oh hey, the honey badger video is a SECOND video i could add to a hypothetical 0.5.0. playlist XD)
🔹 WHITE HAT FOUNDATION 🔹 (AND ITS BUILDING'S PROPERTY)
even before i knew about canon HatBots, i just knew that there had to be a lot more people working for White Hat than just Gulf and Alegría (although Alegría doesn't even really work for specifically White Hat so much in this AU). (i was actually surprised and a bit sad to learn about HatBots because i liked the idea of Flug doing almost everything on his own. if it HAD been only Flug, his situation would have fit even more into the "overworked employee and abusive boss" concept XD)
so there's a good amount of people researching mainly medical things, and White Hat makes sure the whole process stays ethical
but the White Hat building actually is mainly a collection of locals' businesses, one of which is Alegría's self-defense studio, with a large eatery on the ground floor that's popular with the people who work there and who live in the area. (...now that i write this, i realize it's more or less a miniature mall, and i'm okay with that XDD)
the people who work there mostly know each other, and they've developed a half-joking half-serious group chat called the "Gulf Tracker" to note when anyone notices him leave or enter the building so they can stay out of his way.
some extra trivia:
when i first came up with the characters in a few minutes (of course they've developed over time and gotten more detailed -- i didn't come up with -WAVES ARMS AT POST- all of THIS in a few minutes), i didn't realize that the main "opposite" traits i did for Demencia and Flug's reverses were "their relationship to their Black Hat analog." XD so Alegría started with "in a healthy relationship with White Hat" (to contrast with Dem's unrequited obsession/"love"), and Gulf started with "no respect for White Hat (and also likes submarines as the opposite of airplanes)."
------ (i purposefully came up with their base concepts quickly because i WANTED them to be based on the most "obvious" opposite traits lol)
------ but Black Hat and 5.0.5. were already my favorites for themselves, so White Hat = kind, calm, and patient. if i made White Hat after seeing the pilot and first season, he'd probably be a lot more expressive -- i'd only been familiar with Black Hat's super expressive and easily angered 15 second-to-1 minute showman/businessman shorts, and Black Hat is a lot more self-contained (usually) in the final series.
------ 0.5.0. = yeah. just a bear to contrast with 5.0.5.'s anthropomorphizing XD
because i have ADHD and autism and have been a One Piece fan since before middle school (yes that's a relevant comment lol), i thought for most my life that special interests were a thing EVERYONE had. every One Piece character has a special goal and at least one thing they're especially interested in (even if that "one thing" only gets mentioned in question corners in between chapters), so i gave each of the (anthropomorphic) Valorous characters a special interest:
------ Gulf = submarines, Alegría = cacti (altho she's comparatively casual about them and is more just "they're cool :D" while having a lot), White Hat = insects but especially ants (with still strong interests in subjects like etymology [the study of the origin of words] and geology [he likes the comparatively slow changes of geographic formations on earth, compared to how much so many other things change] )
this didn't quite fit in anywhere else in the post, but Gulf often travels through the White Hat building... by going through the vents. so he can avoid people. he trained 0.5.0. on the paths through the building, so 0.5.0. can follow him or otherwise just go wherever Gulf is headed
extra White Hat ramble, a bit more "for ages 16+" or whatever:
another thing that i really wanted when i started thinking about White Hat was to figure out a way to get him in a healthy, possibly sexual, relationship with someone, probably the AU's reverse Demencia since one of Demencia's big things is unrequited love toward Black Hat. buuuuuut instead i learned my guy's just asexual
i didn't like that bias of mine for him because i felt like there were possibly unintentional undertones of "sex is evil/impure" from that. then i felt a lot better when i watched one of the first of the 2023 Doctor Who specials, and there was a moment with the Doctor (who's also a long-lived human-helping non-human cosmic being):
companion about to leave Earth to travel with the Doctor, talking to her family: "Just me and the Doctor. Is that alright?" companion's husband who'll be staying behind: "Yeah, 'course it is! :) (genuinely unconcerned)" companion: "Well, a lot of husbands would worry. (awkward laugh) Y'know, me, in a [space-traveling] box, with another man." husband: "(baffled) Yeah... (whispers) But not him."
so now White Hat is ace XDD (i know there's all sorts of stuff that can be said about ace, aro, and aroace relationships, but yeah, i was really concerned for a while about "am i implying 'sex is evil,' and am i unintentionally informing White Hat's characterization with that concept? i don't like that")
i still go back and forth on if he and Alegría have any type of exclusive relationship going on, and, unless i actually come up with a storyline, i'm okay with that indecisiveness, because that says to me that they both stand well on their own as characters, which is INCREDIBLY important for coupled characters (and coupled people! "you complete me / i'm nothing without you" is a[n i GUESS] romantic but unhealthy and possibly damaging mindset)
okay I'm bored and have uni work to do
anyone wanna share their version of heroic/valiant au lore 👉👈 what's your White Hat like and what's the organisation like etc etc

Tips to Choose Colors for Stylish Modular Kitchen
Tumblr media
Source Of Info: https://www.regalokitchens.com/modular-kitchen-in-panchkula.php
Introduction Selecting the right color scheme for a modular kitchen concept can have a major effect on the room's overall look and feel. At Regalo Kitchens, we understand the power of color to improve your kitchen's overall design and atmosphere. These professional suggestions can help you choose the perfect color scheme for an attractive and welcoming functional kitchen, from understanding the emotional impact of colors to taking lighting and maintenance into mind.
Understand the Basics of Color Psychology The psychology of color is very important in interior design. A space's mood can be affected by the many emotions that different colors create. For example, cool colors like blue, green, and purple can create a feeling of calmness in a place, while bright colors like red, yellow, and orange can make it look inviting and comfortable. When choosing colors for your modular kitchen, think about the feeling you want to create and choose colors that support that idea.
Consider the Size and Layout of Your Kitchen Your color selections can be affected by the size and layout of your kitchen. Lighter colors can provide an appearance of more space and make a small kitchen look larger. To make the room feel larger, choose walls and cabinets that are colored in light gray, brown, or white. However, if your kitchen is big, you can play around with darker shades and bolder colors to give it more character and depth.
Create a Beneficial Color Scheme Your modular kitchen's components will all function smoothly if the color palette is appropriate. Choose a main color for your cabinets first, as they will be the main attraction of the room. Next, decide on colors that match for your walls, flooring, and countertops. For a clean, modern style, white cabinets would look great with a gray countertop and blue walls, for example.
Don’t Be Afraid to Use Bold Colors Bright colors can give your modular kitchen style and make an impact. If you're feeling brave, think about using bold colors in your kitchen decoration, such as black, emerald green, or navy blue. To create a bold and fashionable style, these colors can be used for appliances, decorative walls, cabinets, or even appliances. Just watch out for stunning color balance with soft colors to prevent overpowering the room.
Including Natural Elements Wood, stone, and metal are examples of natural materials that may give your modular kitchen warmth and personality. Think about how colors will work with these natural materials when selecting them. For example, a stone wall can add richness to a basic color scheme, and a wood countertop might look amazing paired with white or gray cabinetry. Your kitchen might look balanced and well organized by using natural elements.
Think About Lighting The way colors look in your modular kitchen could possibly be greatly influenced by the lighting. Colors may look brighter and more colorful in natural light, but depending on the type and strength of the light, artificial lighting can have different effects. When choosing colors, think about how they look under different lighting settings. Testing paint samples in your kitchen to see how they look at different times of the day is also a smart idea.
Consider the Overall Style of Your Home The whole layout of your house should be matched by your modular kitchen. Clean and simple colors like black, gray, and white can give your modern house an organized look. Warm, earthy colors like olive, brown, and white may provide a sense of traditional class to a less modern home. To make sure your kitchen fits in with the rest of your house, take a look at the design and color palette of the rooms that surround it.
Add Personal Touches In the end, your modular kitchen should be a reflection of your own preferences and style. Don't be scared to use colors that you find cheerful and that you love. Your kitchen can look different from others by including personal touches, such as a bright decorative wall, colorful kitchen accessories, or a brilliant tiling.
Keep Maintenance in Mind Maintenance is an important factor to think about seriously when selecting colors for your modular kitchen. Light-colored counters and cabinets are more likely to show stains and trash, so regular cleaning is necessary. Fingerprints and marks can also be seen in dark hues, particularly on shiny surfaces. Choose colors that are easy to keep up with and functional, especially if your home is active.
Get Professional Help It might be difficult to choose the perfect colors for your modular kitchen, but you don't have to do it by yourself. We at Regalo Kitchens provide expert design services to assist you in coming up with a perfect color scheme for your kitchen. Our specialists can provide customized guidance depending on your tastes, way of life, and the unique features of your area.
Conclusion A fashionable and useful room can be created by carefully choosing the colors for your modular kitchen. Always keep in mind that the Regalo Kitchens staff is here to help you at every stage, making sure your customized kitchen really represents your needs and taste.

Choosing the Perfect Floor Tile Colours: Should You Go Dark or Light?
Tumblr media
When it comes to selecting the perfect floor tile colour for your home, the decision between dark and light tiles can be challenging. If You're updating your floors and now face the critical decision: should you opt for dark or light tiles? Both options have their advantages and can dramatically influence the overall look and feel of your space. Each choice has its unique benefits and drawbacks, largely depending on your personal style and needs. Light tiles can make a small room feel more spacious and bright, creating an airy atmosphere. On the other hand, dark tiles can add a touch of drama and luxury to a space, offering a bold statement.
This article will guide you through the factors to consider when choosing between dark and light floor tiles from a tile company, helping you make an informed decision that suits your style and practical needs. Ultimately, the right choice reflects your lifestyle and what makes you feel comfortable and happy. Here are some key factors to help you decide between dark and light floor tiles.
Room Size and Light
Dark Tiles:
Dark tiles can make a room feel more intimate and cozy, which is great for large spaces. However, they can also make small rooms feel even smaller if not balanced with sufficient lighting. Dark tiles tend to absorb light, so they work well in rooms that receive plenty of natural light or have ample artificial lighting.
Light Tiles:
Light tiles, on the other hand, reflect light and can make a small room appear larger and more open. They are ideal for spaces that lack natural light or are on the smaller side. Light tiles create an airy, spacious feel, making them a popular choice for modern and minimalist designs.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Dark Tiles:
Dark tiles are excellent at hiding dirt, dust, and stains, making them a practical choice for high-traffic areas like kitchens and entryways. However, they can show light-colored debris such as dust and pet hair, so regular cleaning is still necessary.
Light Tiles:
Light tiles may show dirt and stains more easily than dark tiles, which means they require more frequent cleaning to maintain their appearance. On the plus side, light-colored tiles can give a cleaner, more sanitary look to spaces like bathrooms and kitchens.
Aesthetic Appeal
Dark Tiles:
Dark tiles can add a touch of sophistication and elegance to a room. They are perfect for creating a dramatic effect and can be used to anchor a space with bold, rich tones. Dark tiles work well with a variety of color schemes, especially when paired with lighter furniture and décor for contrast.
Light Tiles:
Light tiles offer a timeless and versatile look that can suit various design styles. They can create a bright and welcoming environment, making them ideal for creating a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. Light tiles are also great for highlighting other design elements in the room, as they provide a neutral backdrop.
Style and Design Considerations
Dark Tiles:
Dark tiles can be used to create a modern, industrial, or luxurious feel. They pair well with metal fixtures, dark wood, and bold colors. If you’re aiming for a sophisticated, high-end look, dark tiles can be an excellent choice.
Light Tiles:
Light tiles are perfect for a range of styles, including Scandinavian, coastal, and traditional designs. They work well with natural materials like wood and stone and can complement both bold and subtle color palettes. Light tiles are versatile and can adapt to changing design trends over time.
Temperature and Comfort
Dark Tiles:
Dark tiles can absorb more heat from sunlight, making them feel warmer underfoot, which can be beneficial in cooler climates. However, in hot climates, they might contribute to a warmer indoor environment.
Light Tiles:
Light tiles tend to stay cooler underfoot, which can be a relief in warmer climates. They reflect more heat, helping to keep the room temperature down.
Resale Value
Both dark and light tiles can positively impact your home’s resale value, but the key is in the execution and overall design coherence.
Dark Tiles:
Homes with dark tiles can attract buyers looking for a sleek, modern look. If the dark tiles are well-integrated into the home’s design, they can enhance the property’s appeal.
Light Tiles:
Light tiles have broad appeal due to their versatility and ability to make spaces look larger and brighter. They are a safe choice if you’re considering resale value, as they cater to a wide range of tastes and styles.
Tips for Choosing the Right Tile Color
Consider the Functionality:
Think about the room’s purpose and how the tile color will impact its functionality. High-traffic areas might benefit from darker tiles that hide wear and tear, while lighter tiles might be better for rooms where cleanliness is a priority.
Balance with Existing Décor:
Choose a tile color that complements your existing décor and color scheme. Consider how the tiles will look with your furniture, wall colors, and other design elements.
Test Samples:
Always test tile samples in your space before making a final decision. Observe how the colors look under different lighting conditions and at various times of the day.
Maintenance
Lighter tiles tend to reveal dirt more easily, requiring frequent mopping and sweeping, while darker tiles can conceal debris but might need occasional buffing to maintain their shine. Think about your maintenance preferences when choosing a tile color that suits your lifestyle.
By considering your needs, space, and decor preferences, you can select floor tile colors that you'll enjoy for years. Whether you prefer bold or neutral, light or dark, the possibilities are endless!
Mix and Match:
Don’t be afraid to mix dark and light tiles to create a unique design. For example, using dark tiles for the floor and light tiles for the walls can add depth and interest to a space.
Conclusion
Choosing between dark and light floor tiles ultimately depends on your personal style, the specific requirements of your space, and how you want the room to feel. Dark tiles offer a cozy, elegant look and are practical for hiding dirt, while light tiles provide a bright, airy atmosphere and can make small spaces feel larger. By considering factors such as room size, lighting, maintenance, and overall aesthetic, and consulting with a reputable floor tile manufacturer, you can make an informed decision that enhances the beauty and functionality of your home.
