You already know it's wrong to kill animals for pleasure.
If you can access, afford, and safely consume the equivalent nutrition in plant foods, any meat you eat is from an animal killed for your pleasure.

Although industrialists and their managers struggled to inculcate the work ethic among laborers, its adoption proved to be something of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, managers often succeeded in expanding the reach of the traditional ethic of work; on the other hand, the ethic was not always adopted in the form or with the results they sought. First, the split between means and ends introduces a certain indeterminacy. To function as a disciplinary force, the industrial work ethic is articulated—contrary in some respects to the original Protestant ethic—in terms of earthly goals and tangible rewards. These then serve as ideals around which workers can struggle for reforms—demanding, for example, higher wages ensuring more social mobility, and better, more satisfying work. Second, the process of inculcation through which willing subjects are fashioned does not establish a mimetic relationship between culture and subject; the norm that is internalized is always in some ways altered or hybridized in the process. The battles fought within the discursive frames set by these competing versions of the ethic operate to continually transform their terms. Since the nineteenth century, the working class has developed its own version of the work ethic, and this alternative work ethic from below has been useful to the political projects of contesting the structural exclusions and cultural marginalization of the class[16]. This "laborist work ethic" of the industrial period, one of several dissident versions that we will continue to discuss in the following section, draws on a variant of the labor theory of value to celebrate the worth and dignity of waged work and to contend that such work is entitled to respect and adequate recompense (Tyler 1983, 200). Rather than malign the shiftless poor, for example, this version of the ethic takes aim at the idle rich (199).

last couple of days had been nice. its really hard for me to keep up a regular routine because of my adhd symptoms, but i manage these days. im very proud of myself for that!
my dad bought me a smart watch for my birthday and its a game-changer. quite literally because it makes having a nice sleep and doing sports becomes a silly game c:
an honorable mention: im in awe with david bowies and elton johns songs i literally teared up last night…
and… little and important thingies that i’ve done recently
🪻i went to all uni classes that i had this week
🪻i did the homework the night before and not in a hurry in the morning like i always do
🪻i started anna karenina, i have the weekends to read as much as possible (💀), i absolutely love this book, even though im not in love with the ideas of tolstoy himself. i think that this book is VERY thought-provoking in a personal way for me…
🪻i did all the basic chores, cooked for myself and im doing very good in terms of mental state. yipee!!!

thinking abt. trapping a cute hyperproductive femboy's cock in a cage and watching his nuts immediately start to swell with excess cum. teasing him abt his massive balls, all the gallons of seed he's making for me. and ofc it would be so hot for him, he'd only swell faster the fuller he gets~

I get so much stuff done when I have someone helping me. I become a productivity machine. And I can't believe how much Katrina and I accomplished in just two days. But now I am back home, alone, and can't move. And I am having trouble adjusting. I went from being hyperproductive to barely functional almost overnight. And I keep starting things, thinking I will be able to finish them. I still have that urge to be productive even though I should just rest and relax. And all I do is start something and then fizzle out. I have like 20 tasks that are like 2% complete.
I feel like I need to tie a string around my finger to remind me that I'm no longer productive at the moment.

happy monday!!!! it has been a while, i know i know. my last sem in med school before clerkship just started and i’ve been busy adjusting to the activities and sleeping a lot. i subscribed to mubi because one of my creative goals this year is to get back to watching good films (not the hyped ones netflix has). i’m excited about that!
i’m also consciously trying to rest when i can because i’m always always hyperproductive and in result to that i get exhausted easily with just little tasks. working on it.
for the rest of the day, i will workout and maybe go to school to help out with foundation week things. then study at night. i just had brunch in my usual spot in the town center so we are feeling good! everything’s quiet and since it’s a weekday there are barely people around and i just love the peace that i’m surrounded with atm. what a good start of the week.
