The room goes silent, they were embarrassed to realize they acted before giving you a chance to explain. How childish it was of them.

"Perhaps," she stepped forward, making her tail more visible for all to see, "you might find my fur more huggable than your pillows~ would you like to try?"

"THE AUDACİTY-" one of your acolytes screamed, though they seemed redder than you are.

Venti, who is now in his Archon form, decided to fluff his wings in your direction.

"My feathers need a bit of brushing, it is such a pain doing it by myself, would you help this frustrated Acolyte with your divine touch?~"

You hear a deep growl from behind you.

"Foolish Bard. Stop this nonsense this İNSTANT"

"....Said the dragon Archon in his dragon form waiting for pets." He mumbled

I don't know about you, but if I Heard that Zhongli is in his dragon form? İ would turn my head so fast that even xiao would be jealous of my speed-

But for the sake of keeping it all reader-friendly, and keeping in mind that not everyone is a simp, let's just say the reader decides to stop the chaos.

Zhongli plays Animal Crossing - some headcanons.

Lending Zhongli your Animal Crossing copy was honestly one of the best decisions ever made, honestly:

“So, am I to help these animals cross the road?"

"You don't, my love."

"Then why is it titled 'Animal Crossing?'"

He's pleasantly surprised when he finds out he needs to build an island paradise for a bunch of furry friends, as he calls them. He already has a few ideas in mind, he says.

He names his island "Liyuef"... he meant to put Liyue but didn't know how to backspace.

Zhongli...dear, sweet Zhongli treats all of his villagers like real people. When he accidentally bonks one on the head with his net, he gets SO sad. "Oh, please pardon me, Sprinkle...I did not mean to...oh! I did it again. It was not my intention, I assure you, miss Sprinkle. Please do not be angry..."

He also gets sad when a villager asks to move out, but he accepts it with grace. "Who am I to deny their wishes?" he'd say, as he lets his beloved Wolfgang go.

"Zhongli, they're literally fictional..."

Gulliver is an interesting character to him. "This bird washed up on my island...he'd been drinking, no doubt. He reminds me of a certain bard." And when Gulliver gifts him something after he locates all his phone parts, Zhongli says "Ah, thank you Barbatos...I mean Gulliver."

And when Redd visits, he doesn't even need an online art guide...he knows real from fake because he's just that knowledgeable about art. That sly fox's got nothing on this old man.

Zhongli also eagerly listens to everything Blathers has to say, fascinated by all the wildlife that can be caught around the island. Sometimes at dinner he'd relay these facts to you. "Darling, today the owl friend told me that sturgeons can.."

Zhongli’s used to having other people pay for his stuff. So when he finds out he needs to pay off his loans, bridges and stairs by himself, he’s a little put off, but works hard to accumulate enough bells to pay everything off himself.

Speaking of bells…man has NO fiscal responsibility at. All. He buys out the shop and boutique on a regular basis even if he has no need for what they’re selling, simply because “Ah, but the little raccoon children have worked hard to procure these items for me, so it is only fair that I thank them, yes?”

TERRAFORMING is his absolute favourite thing to do! He likes to make random chunks of land all over Liyuef because they remind him of how he can harness Geo energy :)

And honestly, he has such an eye for design and detail. Liyuef is soon well-adorned with beautiful pathways, tastefully-placed monuments and flowers, and an artfully arranged neighbourhood, almost reminiscent of the real-life Liyue it was meant to mimic. “Darling, miss Isabelle has given my land a rating of five stars!”

Soon, Liyuef becomes a thriving paradise, and he's happy :) he thanks you for showing him the crossing of the animals <3

Sometimes I consider multiclassing my Durge as barbarian (just the whole rage and bloodlust angle). But I also love the innate spellcasting of sorcery (which is the favoured class for Bhaalspawn, by 3.5e rules - The ideal default subclass is a Divine Soul Sorcerer and I will die on this hill)

Honestly, most of the classes bring something interesting to their past as a Deathbringer.

Rogues, naturally. Assassin is a subclass for a reason, was Bhaal's thing in life, and Bhaalists sponsor thieves guilds as well as assassins. -

Bards, as the rouge+ class, make great assassins: They're personable and welcomed, they've got a reputation for seduction, people hire them to come to them... -

Druid assassins? Who'd see somebody mauled by an animal or dead by venomous bite and have humanoid assassin as their first guess? Death is natural; all things kill and feed on death. -_

Fighter: Trained your body and mastered all the weapons for the purpose of killing people in a variety of interesting ways. -

Monks: practice mental and physical discipline until your entire body is a lethal weapon. _

Rangers are trackers and hunters who are familiar with the natural world (and its many poisons) - simply hunt people instead of animals. Also natural assassins. -

Wizards are also great murders, depending on how you use their spells. Specialise in necromancy and you can recycle your victims! The hold spell is a godsend for killing people without them calling for help. Also Bhaal was High Netherese, and that place was all about magic so hereditary stuff and blah. -

Sadly we cannot be Clerics of Bhaal (booo), but I can pretend that Durge just fished around for an impression of what god they served and went with the first one that came to mind/seemed likely -

Paladin... I don't care much for 5e's paladins, but having a sworn oath of blind loyalty to Bhaal as your liege, Blackguard style, can be fun.

Warlock is an odd one. Did Durge try to make a deal with a powerful being to try to escape/understand the Urge before they knew what it was? Did they try to escape their fate through a deal? I'd suggest the pact could be with one of Bhaal's servants, but only the Fiend pact works for that...

what tracks do you think Hunter took in hexside?

i'm 100% certainnnnn he was multitrack, like i know for a FACT.

i do wonder whether he took all tracks or if he omitted some, though. he's got sm curiosity in himself and he loves to learn things. he may not be able to do magic like most witches but he's so good with general magical knowledge and he knows so much theory, has memorized lots of info abt the most niche magic things, and he loves research and so he manages to find his own unique ways to exist in a magic society powerless. feel like he'd definitely be open to taking all tracks. AND these... 1-2 years in hexside that he got were the first time he could truly experience school, so it's also possible that he'd try to get as much of that knowledge and experience as he could in that limited time.

i feel like if he were NOT to take any track, it'd be oracle, since it's tied to things like seeing the future and fate/destiny/spirits, and that's something hunter would not really want to play with much, considering how much he cares abt things like choosing your own future, and also considering the whole…. grimwalker/caleb business so gah... but we also don't KNOW anything abt oracle magic so kxjsjks who knows! it might be something different completely.

then for some tracks, i feel he could just not care that much, possibly not enough to take them, if they were not rly anything related to what he's into, like construction... (but still possibly enough to at least try them)

i feel like a track that he'd especially want to take would be beastkeeping, since it's probably somewhat tied to creating palismen and also just relates to animals (which he loves) and it's a track related to eberwolf and even camila; i feel like he'd enjoy it.

then there are also other tracks that are related to his loved ones, like the abomination track (feel like he'd defo want to impress darius with that one, and learn as much as he can) and plant and illusion tracks; which are not really his "thing" BUT something his friends love. i feel like he'd at least try it. tbh the plant track would also tie in with his palisman-making future well, since those ARE made of wood, so he likely has to know how to take care of palistrom trees too somewhat, at least the basics just in case. illusions wouldn't have this much of a practical use but could still be interesting and intriguing to learn so... maybe? temporary at the very least.

i like to think that he'd be taught some instrument by raine in his free time as well so bard track courses could definitely fit in his graphic too. not sure how long they'd keep up, considering you need your own magic to do bard magic, but i feel like even without that he'd learn some theory at least, and just play an instrument normally, OR maybe there'd a way to let him participate fully (through the instruments' magic or sth???)… either way, a possibility also, even if temporary!

then there's also potions; and i feel like he wouldn't necessarily be particularly interested IN potion-related stuff, at least not to the point where it'd be his "thing", but it's still sth interesting to learn and, depending on how many proper accommodations for his lack of magic he'd get in other tracks, it's also a course he can fully engage in, AND he did wear that potions track so it might've even been a partial hint for that. he'd be good at potions i think.

i feel like, with the whole system reform and belos' fall and luz's influence, they definitely added like a wild/ancient magic history course too, even if glyphs didn't work anymore, since that'd cover an important part of erased/forgotten history that was important to remember, and hunter would LOVE that. he's very passionate and already knows sm abt that specific magic knowledge so he'd runnn for it if that was a track available as well. THIS is his favorite thing to study and learn about.

i like to think that he got some specific accommodations that made classes possible for him with his lack of magic, and so he got to learn and do things in his own way, and with that he defo decided to truly learn ALL of it (or at least, all that was interesting to him) (a choice he probably slightly regretted some random night where he had like 10 unfinished assignments to do kxjsjsjk) and just, just….. he got to attend hexsideeee and learn magic, learn "wild" magic, experience school and meet with his friends everyday and everything and GAHHHGHHH. IT MAKES ME SO !!!!

but yeah, like. he couldn't use glyphs for classes anymore but there still HAD to be a way. palisman magic maybe (i feel like he definitely waited a while til he made waffles though so maybe he could use owlbert or even stringbean sometimes in that case, similarly to flyer derby)? or those training wands, or even some other techniques that'd help him with his courses. especially with bump being the prinicipal and eda slowly stepping into the teaching career, they DEFINITELY wanted to figure sth out for hunter specifically. and definitely did!

(sth sth both bump and eda being good teachers who truly care abt the well-being of their students and the right approach to acquiring knowledge….. i know these old ppl were doing a LOT of digging and thinking and planning to give hunter the best options for his education)

anyway- YEAH! multitrack hexside hunter...... so real. him being able to learn everything he's passionate about, being able to experiment and discover and find out what he likes, now that he's free to do so. cuz even if he decides something isn't for him after some time, he still has the FREEDOM to determine that himself. the freedom to try everything, the freedom to decide for himself. yeah... yeah.

Answering for The Legend of Orian Goldeneye under the cut:

1. What’s the first part of your WIP that you created?

I actually created Jas first. I fleshed out her design as a portal fantasy protagonist ages before I started thinking up the plot to TLoOG. It consisted of a character sheet with her name, appearance, and general sense of her personality, though that would get fleshed out later as I wrote the first draft.

2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?

Oooooo I had to think long and hard about this, but I'd love for the song Ghosts That We Knew by Mumford & Sons to be the hypothetical intro. I think the lyrics reflect a lot of the characters' motivations, backstories and relationships.

3. What are your favorite characters that you made? Why?

Killian because I like to whump him, Jas because she's me but slightly to the left, Orian because he's precious baby, Diana because she's a bard, Henrik because he means well but needs improvement, Azura because she is multifaceted.

4. What other pieces of media do you think your fanbase would share?

I suppose other works in the portal fantasy genre such as The Chronicles of Narnia, Beyonders, The Owl House or the Cosmere (I guess?? Worldhoppers are portal fantasy protagonists???) would have overlap. I would say amnesia trope as well but it might be surprising to learn that I haven't read very many books with it. While there are some Wheel of Time elements I don't think there'll be very much overlap compared to the rest.

5. What has been your biggest struggle with your WIP?

This storming rewrite draft. I have a plan that I'm going for but I'm currently at a standstill because Diana didn't originally exist the way she does now and I'm trying to find a good way to introduce Azura that isn't just Orian talking about her. Seriously the first draft was very different than what I'm trying to do now and I'm having issues.

6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!

Does Octavian count? Sure let's say his wolf form counts. Also Henrik's horse.

Octavian's wolf form doesn't come out very much, it tends to operate on instinct and its instincts usually are kill and maim and maul. But if Octavian's cornered he won't hesitate to call out to it and transform.

Henrik's horse's name is Swiftling, she's a powerful mare, former warhorse and as no-nonsense as a horse can possibly get. Asta's stallion learned early on that she won't tolerate anything she considers beneath her. A very fitting horse for Henrik.

7. How do your characters travel/get around?

Well Henrik obviously has his horse. Most of the story takes place in Saint's Shoal, so everyone just walks until they have to travel to Iron Hollow, a city some distance away. Then Diana hires a wagon and horse for the journey.

Some dreamshapers can warp space inside the dream, but only for themselves. Morpheus is one of these. Azura and Orian are not.

8. What part of your WIP are you working on right now?

I just got to Diana's introduction and am gearing up for Azura's. In the first draft Azura was introduced when kidnapping Jas, but I changed that because of reasons. I'm currently having a bad bought of writer's block in this scene though, and I'm considering trying to write it from a different POV instead. Orian's maybe? I'll have to decide soon.

10-11 adverse using only free operators

you get one copy of lancet-2 for completing TR-10 and one copy of texas for completing all the pinboard missions so I consider them free in that they're available to all players regardless of headhunting or recruitment luck. lancet's potentials only increase the instant heal on deployment so that doesn't affect this strategy, and to compensate for my texas being max pot I deployed everyone 2 DP later

more detailed strategy discussion:

the biggest issue for this map is that the free operator roster doesn't have a lot of aoe burst damage so it's easy to get overwhelmed. the chain casters aren't that bad to deal with on their own but the swordguys deal so much fucking damage with not a lot of options to get rid of them fast when they're always surrounded by a bunch of trash. if you have like eyja or chalter or silverash or something this all gets a lot easier because you can just kill those clowns

highmore is crucial for the consistent aoe damage and also has the bonus of not needing a healer on her which lets me place honeyberry like that. as a bard heidi is able to heal highmore and since it's a shatterpoint map heidi also has a cracked as hell skill aura that lets me pull off the switcharoo at the bottom around the 4 minute mark and massively boosts minimalist's damage output

shalem doesn't have the raw hp to take the cannon but his s1 increases his max hp so he still survives. of the free defenders bison and heavyrain do have the raw hp but I don't have them raised so I went with shalem, also because he's got pretty good multitarget damage. czerny is like shalem in that he can't take the cannon raw but can with his s2

gladiia is used to bait the caster that appears bottom left after the first cannon hit so everyone else doesn't get their shit rocked and to help highmore clear the bigger reborn creations. shifting an enemy prevents them from attacking so highmore has enough time to restore some hp between their attacks

the swordguys deal massive damage per hit but their attack interval is a whole 5 seconds so they're extremely susceptible to bibeak slapping their attack animation out of their hands. she can take one hit from them too so she has a decent amount of leeway to recharge her skills and if kjera rolls freeze too it's joever for them. if you want this to be autodeploy stable you might want to replace kjera with absinthe or something though because the freeze will affect how you need to time bibeak's stuns on top of minimalist's damage varying a lot with his crit rolls

texas isn't like super crucial because she's just there to print dp but I tried with courier and i just haven't invested in him enough to make him print fast enough + the extra stun is nice to help bibeak at the end. just myrtle it if you're not playing under self imposed restrictions lol

I mentioned wanting to post about my other STP AUs and then never actually followed up with that beyond some general notes on my D&D-esque AU, so here's a more specific rundown of the Voices:

Hero: A run-of-the-mill fighter from a small farming village on the west coast of the continent. Allegedly he was prophesied to do... something (still unclear on what, but the word "slay" was definitely involved), but he's not sure if he believes in that sort of thing. Somehow he ends up taking on quests with Cold and Stubborn far too often for comfort. Increasingly convinced he's the only normal person here.

Cold: A cold-blooded assassin and general blade-for-hire who only takes on jobs he finds interesting. In another time, he was less picky about whom he was assigned to kill, but he's grown discerning with time. He's only killed one noble in recent years before deciding to focus on more difficult targets... but she doesn't seem keen on leaving him alone. Most of his past is a mystery to everyone but Hero, though most people don't exactly feel like asking about it.

Stubborn: A textbook barbarian who decided never to die one day and hasn't changed his mind since. Tends to take on quests alongside Cold since their desires for an interesting fight line up... though Cold may or may not always appreciate the help. He met some sort of half-demon a few years back who had the same kind of loose relationship with death, and ever since they meet up every few months to kill each other. For some reason, most people think this is weird.

Contrarian: One of three recent bard-college graduates in the party. His specialty is theater and improvisation, particularly of a satirical sort. It hasn't even been a year since graduation and he's already banned from one of the northern kingdoms due to The Play. He's also banned from explaining what exactly was so offensive about The Play, and this one might be magically enforced, so best not to risk it. Of the bards, he's the most magically talented, though he mainly uses his talents for pranks.

Smitten: The second of three recent graduates. His specialties are the lute (which he's actually quite good at), romantic poetry (eh...), and singing/songwriting (no.). The most anyone can really get him to open up about his past is that he's from an island kingdom to the east and didn't grow up with any other beastfolk. "Smitten" isn't actually his real name, but not even Contrarian and Opportunist know what it really is.

Opportunist: The third of the recent graduates. He's a bit of a jack-of-all trades and fairly average at magic. It's mostly his fault that the three of them didn't manage to meet up again until they'd been tasked with killing a bunch of Princesses, because less than a month after graduation he got on the wrong side of a witch, was cursed into the form of a frog, and, being too proud to seek help, had to figure out how to either break the curse or turn back to his normal form on his own.

Hunted: I haven't fully figured out what's going on with him. He's a ranger who's been tracking a mysterious beast throughout the western forest—he's pretty sure there's some bounty put forth by one of the kingdoms within the forest, but his quest is mostly personal. He recently acquired an animal companion (a raven) to help him hunt down the beast, but only learned after the fact that the "animal companion" was A: sapient, and B: unable to fly.

Broken: He's been flightless since before he showed up at the first familiar-shop, and the constant cycle of being adopted by some aspiring wizard or ranger, then being cast out once they realized they'd been misled didn't do him any favors. It doesn't seem to be the result of an injury, though—he seems to know the real cause, but he isn't talking. At least the ranger who adopted him this time seems to be more understanding than the others.

Cheated: A solo adventurer who tends not to stick with a single party for very long. He's a warlock, allegedly, and he'll tell the story to anyone to asks of why you should stay far, far away from suspicious-sounding maidens in the woods, but no one has actually seen him use any spells. He frequents the tavern where Skeptic works—it's a more permanent fixture in his life than any party he's worked with.

Skeptic: He's not an adventurer himself—he runs an adventurers' tavern in the western woods, and has become acquainted with most of the others through his business. It's an underappreciated job, and it's a lot of work to ensure shady characters can't mess up the system, but adventurers tip pretty well. You just have to make sure the "No change" sign is visible, so they can't demand that you find some way to split the gold pieces that are the only currency they carry. Skeptic tends to stay distant from customers, though, with his only close confidant being the wizard outside town.

Paranoid: He had a reputation as a shut-in even before he started refusing to set foot outside his tower a few weeks back. But even more so, he has a reputation as being the best healing wizard in his part of the western woods—mainly by virtue of being the only healing wizard in his part of the woods, but he is very skilled. And driven. He was the first Voice to properly slay a Princess, even before the others formed their party.

The only problem is, whatever he killed in his tower basement doesn't seem to have been content to stay dead.

i think keepers are not very given to close romantic relationships in the first place*, and he even less than most because he's uh. very much not into that. i did not intend this directly, but well... i accidentally made him an aroace that fucks and i didn't even realize until uh. shb i think. yeah i'm pretty sure

he's had friends and sort-of-apprentices he traveled the shroud together with at times, and many of them are now dead, but that's not romantic heartbreak. he just... misses them

*yes i imagine there's very close life partnerships, usually between women or between men, because those spend the most time together. between women and men it just means they see each other less often, but it also does happen. but i headcanon they don't really have the concept of structured romance like the other races do, nevermind marriage or such weird things. what's a monogamy. what do you mean you wouldn't fuck your friends, don't you like them?

well, feo ul made a bond with mitr'a at the exarch's behest (who also had a bond, hmmm), and feo ul later loudly declared mitr'a was theirs theirs theirs in front of il mheg and everybody. mitr'a considered the issue very seriously with the info available to him, and decided this was probably this 'marriage' thing people joked about, which seemed fine because he really liked feo ul/titania. he could roll with this

he later spent the rest of shb and post shb ruminating the issue further, and spending a lot of time bringing g'raha back down to knowing real-him and himself back up to know now-old g'raha again. various issues and questions and attunements were solved, discussed, implied and worked around in their friendship. and finally, with the seat of sacrifice, that final request and the feelings it gave him, and the week of saying goodbyes before returning to the source he went: yeah, yeah. okay

so he changed his behaviour accordingly once g'raha woke back up, which led to a somewhat embarrassing period for g'raha, who i assume as sharlayan-raised is not accustomed to uh. blatant displays of affection in public, like someone grooming his ears during a meeting or getting full body curled around while purring as greeting. yes yes they did actually talk about this new relationship status beforehand, i'm not an animal

so, in summary, g'raha is his most favouritest, friend, companion. is it romantic love the way some would consider necessary? can he even feel that? who knows? but it's what he has to offer. this was a choice he made, with full intention and many months of consideration

whether g'raha knows that mitr'a considers them 'officially married' remains variable depending on what's funnier for me during a scene, tbh. but mitr'a did bring him to visit his clan before dawntrail (much family ribbing was had at mitr'a's expense over this: "friends with a seeker? from some elf island?? you????"). he also gave him his bard soulstone "for his history research**;" g'raha's now got to the dubious honor of seeing/feeling himself in his CT times from the outside. that's some considerable psychic damage, no matter how fond the stone's memory is about him falling into the lake because he didn't want to let go of the fish he caught

in summary, all this allows me to say "this is mitr'a [sapling], his partner feo ul [branch], their husband g'raha [bloom], and g'raha's wife, the crystal tower" and mean it, which amuses me

🌊Silkina the Waveservant Bard

Silkina has gotten to the Underdark safely and is currently on her way to visit the mushies! Nothing super exciting has happend that's worth mentioning, but I did finally do a photoshoot with her and Wyll which was very fun. I also downladed a pirate outfits mod and so she has a few new outfits and accessories that are ocean themed! I also changed her outfit to the wavemother dress but an alt version of it. I wish it didn't clip weirdly at the arm pits, but what can ya do?

✨Solenia the Drow Cleric of Elistraee

Solenia and Silkina are in the exact same spot lol Well, Solenia is a little further along and at Grymforge!

The biggest change is that I decided to have fun with Solenia's hair lmao I have a cool anime-ish, Final Fantasy-esque hair mod that had this spiky pontail situation and I really wanted to use it for someone. Solenia felt like a good choice lmao She's still not exactly romancing anyone atm but she'll probably go for Halsin depending on how that all goes!

She's very adamant about saving the slaves in the Underdark and helping the gnomes and it's my first time really doing that, so woo! Oh she also saved Bolen which was a first for me lmao Usually Efenity just blows up the whole area and steals the stuff that was in his bag 🥲

🌩️Efenity the Storm Sorcerer

Changed her hair and outfit YET. AGAIN. I just have to accept that I will never not change it every couple of days lmaooo

Anyway, she's the furthest along out of everyone because she's my comfort Tav and I get lost in her playthroughs 🥲yes the playthroughs with my Evil Tav being the worst person alive are somehow my comfort playthroughs... I don't get it either. Plus, I kinda follow a "routine" with her since I have a storyline she goes through, so it's familiar after doing it 6 times and still never getting past the final fight.

She has gone through the gauntlet of Shar, the whole shadow cursed lands, fought and defeated Yurgir and his minions, and I left off with her and Astarion getting the news about his scars from Raphael.

I love this conversation because it's one of the first moments Efenity's perspective on Astarion's situation can be directly acted out/spoken. She's always like "SO... there's a way to become a living vampire. Jot that down cause we are coming back to that. Cazedor is a POS and we gon' take him down."

🍃Enyana the Dryad (wood elf Druid)

Enyana's a little behind the others, but she JUST got to the Underdark! And I mean JUST got there.

She saved Halsin and I've been enjoying her and Gale a lot.

There's a sort of timid but curious vibe between them (at least, in my head lmao) that makes me happy. Can't wait to get to more romance scenes with him!

Back to thinking about the TF2 squad, but in a DnD setting.

I don't remember who posted this or where it was posted (and I wished I remembered it so much orz), but Sniper being a Firbolg is amazing and I love it so much and I want to give a big smooch to whoever thought about it first. Also, I can't imagine him having any other class other than Ranger. Have no clue what subclass to give him tho' o(-(

Soldier being a Fighter with the Gunslinger subclass would be fun. But the Battle Master subclass would also fit him. As for what race he would be ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe Bugbear?

Idk why, but Demoman as a Blood Hunter (with his subclass maybe being the Order of the Ghostslayer) makes my brain go haywire. Not sure whether to have him be a Minotaur, an Elf, or a half-Elf tho'. Leaning maybe towards one of the latter two. Maybe.

Spy being a Changeling Rogue (unsure what subclass to give him smh) is pretty fitting imo. Don't really have much else to add here lol

Scout would then be half-Human half-... Changeling? Fey? Elf? I have honestly no clue how that exactly works lol. As for his class... I have no clue as well. A part of me is leaning towards Monk, while another part of me is leaning towards Bard. *shrug*

I think it would be fun if Pyro is the only one in the group that's just straight up Human, with maybe some dragon ancestry waayyy back in their family tree, which let's them use Sorcerer spells. That, or let them go nuts with Wild Magic that they got from meeting a Unicorn.

Engineer being a Dwarf Artificer with the Battle Smith subclass that let's him have his own lil' robot turret puppy following him around :)

Heavy would be a Barbarian, but I'm unsure what subclass tho'. I'm leaning towards the Path of the Totem Warrior since one of the animals that can be chosen is the bear, which got quite some perks that fits him. Also unsure whether to have him be a Half-Orc, or a Goliath, or something else.

I just really like the idea of Medic being Tiefling and a Cleric for a God in the Trickery domain (*cough* Satan being the God of Trade or Deals or something *cough*), which let's him have access to the spell Disguise Self, which he uses to look like an Elf most of the time. Just yes :]

ANON!!! I cannot put into words how much I loved your kind words! I literally have been reading this over and over because it's so sweet and wonderful! Thank you for comparing me to the Bard, especially since I never really thought my ideas were so much as interesting rather than creative and spectacular! I could not have made this story and written it out without the fantastic support the people on this site have given me!

Seriously, I cannot emphasize how happy reading this has made me. Tumblr has really become a major and significant safe place for me because I am considered a bit more nerdy than most all of my family members. A lot of the fandoms I am in, they aren't and I can't really introduce it to them because it would just take too much brain energy and no one has time for that.

Regarding Michael and Reader, there are definitely plans coming for them in the future! Maybe these plans will be from Farleigh, maybe they'll come from Annabel (oh yea, she's part of the 'I love Reader, but I don't want to admit it' club). But Felix is definitely going to try to separate them and make Michael seem more like a pathetic nerd, and it's only going to backfire on him (I cannot wait to write this part)!

And the idea of Felix actually being an asshole was a really big thought I kept revisiting while watching the film. We know that the entire story is told from Oliver's perspective, and the guy is biased as FUCK. He paints Felix as this godly saint who deserves all the love and adoration from the world, but there was just something about him that just...gave me the ick. The biggest clues for me were when he and Farleigh were arguing about Farleigh's mom, and then Farleigh made the point about the 'footmen,' and Felix said "We DOn'T SeE RAcE"...like...BOI!

Also, the cavalier way he was giving the tour of his house with Oliver, we will also be seeing that with Reader, but obviously, she will be having a much different reaction (AKA: DISGUST).

okay. hear me out. HEAR ME OUT FOR JUST A SECOND. you're a little village person, okay ? you work in an inn for your aunt; helping make food for patrons, cleaning the rooms, dealing with bards and other entertainment, making sure everything runs smoothly.

and one day, while you're in the kitchens cooking up a stew for dinner, this little — fox comes squirreling through the backdoor.

you're stunned. mostly because you've only known them to be rather evasive beasties, but also because it looks like a devilish little thing, inflicted with some illness, maybe, that has given it red eyes and a frightening aggression. it doesn't bite you or anything, but it cowers in the corner of the kitchen, baring its little teeth when you try to shoo it back out with the broom.

you smack it once on the head, effectively making it a little dizzy and then —

"knock it off!"

it speaks.

you nearly faint, watching with wide eyes as he shakes his little head, glaring at you in the best way an animal can. you keep the broom tight to your chest, holding it now like a shield instead of a sword, as he trots around the kitchen in search of — something.

the little fox sniffs here and there, digs in between two sacks of potatoes, even peeks his head out the door into the rest of the inn before turning to face you. he looks exasperated — as exasperated as an animal can — and sits down politely, as if he were a perfect gentleman and not a rabid animal.

you still don't know what to say.

""m lookin' for a shitty wizard," he growls, his fluffy tail coming to curl around his body like a cat. "looks like he's made of clouds."

you think maybe you're going insane.

all you can do is blink at him once again, the rough, raspy tone of his voice rattling around in your brain. the words he's saying are clear, perfectly understandable, and yet — you can't seem to make sense of them. of him.

the fox simply growls at you again before moving on, jumping onto one of the shelves as he trots up to the open window, peering out as if he's expecting some enemy to come chasing in after him.

wizard made of clouds. wizard made of clouds. talking fox looking for wizard made of clouds. you're trying to be helpful, but it's really a lot to process.

as would any animal, his nose twitches as he gets closer to the stew, interest in the outside world lost, and he even jumps from the ledge to trot on up to your boiling pot over the fire. you have half a mind to whack him again, but you're not sure you want him to talk to you anymore.

regardless, he turns to you and barks, "hey! i haven't eaten in days!"

and because you ARE insane and too committed to your job as a worker in the inn, you almost immediately turn to find a bowl to place on the floor for him when the backdoor comes flinging open. and in floats purple clouds in the shape of a wizard.

the little fox bares his teeth in an instant and lunges for him, and then —

you're being dropped a few feet in the air into the middle of a thick, dense, and dark forest. you're still not making sense of — anything, but you feel little paws bounding over your back before you roll over, the sound of his gnashing teeth echoing in the wildlife-sounds around you.

"god damn it!" the fox howls. "'m gonna kill that no good, shitty, portal bastard, piece of—"

he starts digging at the ground suddenly, like he's got to do something to get his little frustrations out, and he makes a decent size hole before he's running off again. jumping left and right. crouching down with his back arched, like he's ready to fight thin air.

it's the final straw; you roll over the forest floor once again, clutching your belly as you laugh out loud into the trees. it's high-pitched and ugly, a sound derived from madness, and tears spring to your eyes as a headache develops behind them; your brain is working too hard to make sense of what's going on.

then little teeth dig into the fabric at your shoulder, and you swat at the fox when it starts to tear.

"hey!"

"no, you hey!" he argues, jumping on your chest as he bares his teeth at you. "i gotta catch the son of a bitch so i can get my goddamn body back, and you gotta help me!" you start to crack up again, driven completely insane, and he yips loudly at you. "'m fuckin' serious! this ain't a joke, we're in the middle of a goddamn forest and i'm stuck as a fox!"

you giggle and wipe the tears from your eyes. "and what are you normally stuck as?"

"'m not stuck as anything, brat," and then he leans his little face down until his wet nose is pressing against yours, eyes red and furious. "'m a fuckin' knight, 'n i gotta get back to that damn idiot half 'n half prince."

something about his answer finally sobers you, the weight of it, maybe, to think of someone so close to royalty. you blink at him twice, and it's not until you nod that he finally leans back, tongue darting out to lick over his nose.

you ask, "how did you get like this, then?"

and he rolls his eyes, disturbingly human, before hopping off you and trotting ahead into the trees, calling out, "c'mon, and i'll tell you the whole shitty thing."

you've no choice but to follow.

The WIP Questionaire

Thanks so so much from @verba-writing for the tag! I had such a fun time reading your answers too and I'm very excited for paranormal romance 😍

I feel like I wanna flag that a lot of my answers are very anime/gaming-sphere oriented and I hope I'm not totally alienating my mutuals by revealing just HOW MUCH I'm not a book person lololol But this is with what we're working:

The Questions are:

1. What was the first part of your wip that you created?

The very first thing I made was the high premise: It was synthesized from the Overly Sarcastic Productions question "What if all the Kings Under the Mountain came back...?" and then I added the context "...in a Nuclear Crisis to discuss piece?" And in my head, it was this HBO-style modern fantasy Game of Thrones meets West Wing type deal. But then... I didn't want to write the modern piece. (The modern piece should be written by people in countries from all over Europe about what it means to be a hero in various cultures.)

So I set it in 1800s fantasy world instead!

2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?

The first arc would be Dance in the Game by Zaq

The second arc would be Lacrimosa by Kalafina

The Gods' Arc would be Paper Boquet by Mili

3. Who are your favourite characters you've made? Why?

Is it to cliché to be like "my current self-insert protagonist is my favorite character I've ever made"? Her and my antagonist are just THE BEST and I love them.

4. What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?

Mmm, I think Untitled Yssaia Game's story would appeal to queer Game of Thrones fans who could FEEL the straightness in GoT, especially if they also like anime. I would hope I could get general anime fans as well as Arcane and Genshin Impact fans, but I feel like those are too mainstream and Yssaia is not. Realistically, I think I'm gonna get the Wadanohara people and the Ib people and, if I get really lucky, the To the Moon people.

5. What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?

Marketing lol -- explaining what it is to people in a way that they realize they want it.

6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!

Fuafua 🥺🥺🥺

Look at her! She is a six-legged, six-eyed slug cat called a Maret. Marets fill the same role as ocelots in Yssaia, except they're more semi-aquatic like otters and their skin has a stressball-like texture.

7. How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)

They walk or ride Rumateurs (which are alpaca-like beings with ossicones) or take ships or airships or trains. I don't like writing about travel that much though so it is a background element.

8. What part of your wip are you working on rn?

I am pre-editing the first arc for my alpha readers and the third arc has another 50k to 100k words to draft. We're at like 250k words total right now and it is so unwieldy 😭😭😭

9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?

Oh, I have a convenient graphic for this. Hang on...

10. What are your hopes for your wip?

I was just diatribing about this earlier but the DREAM is to turn it into an RPGmaker adventure game and have it go viral and make a million bucks off it. I'd love to be the next Undertale but it'll never happen because I am not positioned to be the next Undertale, you know?
