My Adventures With Superman - A Rambling Set Of Thoughts

Okay, I know I don't USUALLY make posts like this and I especially hate getting cynical and nitpicky about these sorts of things because I just don't wanna contribute to all the negativity on the internet... But this is something I just couldn't shake.

So last night I watched the first season of My Adventures With Superman and... I have a lot of mixed feelings about to be brutally honest which is a shame because I know SO many people really loved this show.

Spoilers for season 1 obviously

For the most this show is great and it has a good foundation for Superman and gets him and his relationship with Lois so right. I love how Clark is this big, soft himbo twink dork who really reminds me of Adora from She-Ra and Lois is this fun tomboy who falls head over heels for him. And to be honest, all of their moments were genuinely the highlight of the show for me. SERIOUSLY ITS LIKE CLARK AND LOIS BUT MADE FOR SAPPHICS LIKE ME AND I ADORE THEM

I love the art style and animation too and really does put a very fresh new aesthetic on DC stuff. Sure, it's a bit too much like She-Ra and Voltron in places, but for DC, it's a really good breath of fresh air. Seriously, look at the designs of Deathstroke and Livewire!

But sadly, that's not all the show is and this is where I have to sadly talk about my negatives with it.

Sooooo… this show was written a lot of the same people who wrote She-Ra and it seems to be a big fan of various anime things too, especially Dragon Ball Z and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

To that end, the show has basically... turned Superman into a mixture of Adora and Goku, not just in terms of personality traits and in Adora's case, her relationship with Catra (Seriously, if Clark was a woman and blonde, I would swear she and Lois would just be Catradora)

This sadly does apply to how this show portrays the Kryptonians, who are implied to MOSTLY be a race of evil conquerors who tried to attack Earth only for Krypton to be destroyed. This is VERY similar to how the First One's were depicted in She-Ra, as well as how the Saiyans were in Dragon Ball Z. One could also argue that their attack on Earth is a weird mashup of the movie Arrival and the Second Impact from Evangelion but that's me getting very nitpicky.

So naturally, we have Adora and Goku's traits being applied to Superman. And…. those traits don't really work for Superman, at all. Now I should be clear, it seems to be that Jor-El and Lara were actually like rebels fighting the evil Kryptonians (which is ironically Mara's whole deal... you seeing the She-Ra pattern here yet?) but like... I don't like this idea at all. Poor Clark even has a fucking breakdown later on and thinks he's actually some evil weapon meant to conquer Earth AGAIN just like Adora from She-Ra being used as a weapon by the First One's. And I just feel bad for him because he's trying to be the good decent Superman we all love... but he's getting dragged into this plot that pretty much breaks him... and I don't really like it.

And then there's a whole subplot about Lois meeting alternate versions of herself and discovering alternate versions of Superman who are evil (which is bizarrely how Kryptonite is introduced in this show) which.... yeah I don't like that plot either. Nor am I the fan of Task Force X pulling the whole "the Government is treating clark as hostile because they think he's an evil alien" plot which I have gotten kinda tired of seeing in a lot of modern Superhero media. It's either Superheroes being hated or hunted by the government or being made to work for them.

And you know where this all probably came from for this show in particular? Fucking Zack Synder and Man of Steel. It's kind of ironic because a lot of this show feels like its in response to the Synderverse, like it feels obligated to comment on how people see Superman now because of those crappy movies, something that I know James Gunn is probably gonna do as well with his superman movie basically a live action version of Superman vs the Elite.

And just…. no, none of this shit is really necessary nor is it a good idea. Because it kinda takes away some bits of Superman that I like. I know the show isn't done yet but… I can already make a good guess of where it's going to go. And where it's going… idk if I'm gonna like a whole lot.

It is clearly a show wanting to be different from all that has been done before with Superman…. but by being different for the sake of it, it's doing a lot of stuff I just don't like.

I just want there to be a day when we get a Superman thing that doesn't have to justify the man's own existence and role in a story because some objectivist edgelord made a bad movie with him in it eleven years ago.

So yeah, by turning Superman into more or less mostly Adora from She-Ra... I think they might have messed him a bit in my eyes. I hope season 2, whenever that comes out hopefully pushes things in a more hopeful direction and I could genuinely call this a good adaption of Superman. Because there is so much potential with just from the relationship of Clark and Lois alone that tells me that these creators just GET how Superman's character is.

So yeah, I hope that long rambling thought made sense.

So getting to read @thejakeformerlyknownasprince 's FMA AU reminded me of my own ideas for a FMA/Animorphs fic. A crossover, in this case, a Megamorphs of sorts (complete with rotating narration) because I really want an excuse to have the Animorphs interact with the characters of the FMA universe. I don't have enough ideas worked out to confidently write a whole fanfic yet, so I think I'll just share some of my ideas so that at least they don't stay inside my head forever like the vast majority of ideas that I either never finish enough to post it or just never get around to at all, especially when my brain is always generating new plot bunnies instead of focusing on developing the ones I already have, it's so distracting lol

(Also maybe y'all could give some suggestions if you wanna, I'd definitely appreciate it lol)

Anyway, here it is:

First off, the answer as to how exactly the Animorphs end up in the FMA universe: I was kicking around a few ideas for this, and was originally thinking something along the lines of like, a freak accident that somehow results in them ending up in front of the Gate of Truth, but I think a better idea would be for an alchemist (or perhaps even several alchemists) to end up in the Aniverse, get Yeerkified, and the Yeerk (or Yeerks, as it may be), intrigued by the memories and knowledge of an alternate Earth where you can manipulate matter and shape it according to your will with nothing more than a well drawn chalk circle (or even less than that if you've been through the Gate, as the Yeerk(s) will eventually discover), lured in by the idea of a legendary object that supposedly can be used to circumvent a pesky little law known as Equivalent Exchange, decides to pull something of a "Tom's Yeerk and his Yeerk buddies a la book 52" deciding to start their own colony in the FMAverse where they won't have to answer to the Council of Thirteen or the Visserarchy (well, at least the ones higher ranked than the Yeerk in charge, who, I imagine, would have to be a Sub-Visser at the very least to have the power to arrange all this) in addition to being able to use alchemy, which, much like the morphing power, can be used for a massive variety of things, ranging from merely convenient to pretty damn useful in a pinch to OP as fuck to even just downright terrifying.

It takes a lot of time and meticulous planning, of course, as they have to find a way to transport the Yeerks, their ship, and all the other stuff they'll need to thrive over there through the Gate and into the FMAverse-- all while in a universe where alchemy flat out doesn't work. The Yeerks have to figure out how to get around that issue, and it takes at least a year of research and using their new hosts' alchemical knowledge to work out a solution, but they work it out, and soon enough they get everything set up and ready to go. At some point, the Chee find out about this secret unknown project going on, inform the Animorphs about it, and Jake decides that they should at least check it out on the off chance that it's something big.

That's where the story officially starts: with our team of traumatized teenage shapeshifters at the location where this thing is being set up (haven't figured out the where yet). They've spent the past several days spying on these Yeerks, but still aren't sure what exactly is going on-- they keep talking about opening a gate-- and aren't sure if it's worth it. Marco's convinced the whole thing is ridiculous, especially after overhearing a human Controller mention something about a "Philosopher's Stone" ("What is this, Harry Potter? Are they gonna wave wooden sticks around and yell in Latin?") . Rachel is bored at this point, and just wants to kick ass and call it a day-- they were probably up to no good anyway. Cassie isn't particularly keen on the asskicking part, but she's been having a bad feeling about all this that she can't shake, and Tobias agrees that something fishy is going on and says they should wait a few days-- after all, from what they've gleaned, whatever plans these Yeerks had would be set in motion very soon. Ax, being Ax, declares as usual that he'll just go along with whatever Prince Jake orders, though when Jake presses him about his opinion, he just says he isn't sure what to make of it. In the end, they keep it up for a couple more days, and sure enough, the time comes for the Yeerks to "open the gate", whatever that means.

After all the time they'd spent spying on the Yeerks, it is conveniently now, when the Yeerks are about to do their thing, that they're discovered. It quickly turns into a fight, and the Animorphs attempt to bail as they're soon overwhelmed-- and then the Gate is opened.

None of them had any idea what to expect next. They certainly weren't expecting the blue lightning that erupted around them in a massive circle, seeming to originate from the curving lines that had been so painstakingly carved into the floor. They aren't expecting the atmosphere to turn dark and purple and creepy, or for a giant grey eye to suddenly appear beneath them, or for wavy black tentacle arms to come out of that eye. And they definitely were NOT expecting to abruptly find themselves in the white void of Zerospace.

Only they aren't in Z-space, exactly. Surrounded by it, sure, but somehow they stand there, as if on solid ground, surrounded by the eerie blankness that had once nearly suffocated them to death.

Each Animorph is utterly alone, with nothing and no one else in sight. That is, until they hear a voice, one that sounds like several voices speaking in unison, and suddenly they see a figure-- or, more accurately, an outline of a figure, with only shadows to mark where the figure ended and the void began. The figure is shaped like a human in all but Ax and Tobias's case: the figure Ax sees is shaped like an Andalite, and Tobias's version takes the form of a bird.

Truth gives the whole "I am God, I am the world, and I am also you" speech, then informs them they can't pass through the Gate without payment. Suddenly, there's a huge gateway where previously there was nothing. Truth is unconcerned with the fact that these "A-ni-morphs" have zero clue what's going on-- it simply takes the required toll and sends them on their way.

Except the toll is literal body parts-- which, even then, isn't usually a big deal for an Animorph, but in this case it absolutely is a big deal, because, as they'll soon discover, there's no way they're going to just replace their lost limbs through morphing. It's expressly forbidden for one to simply have nice things in this universe; in other words, Truth isn't letting them off the hook that easily.

The discovery that they're not able to replace their lost body parts through morphing is especially horrifying to Ax, because, well, y'know... book 40. The one that every Ax fan, and really anyone who otherwise genuinely enjoys Ax's character, would like to pretend never fucking happened.

In fact, given Truth's precedent for irony when extracting payment from people who've opened/been through the Gate in the series, I have no doubt in my mind that Ax would end up suffering the exact same fate as Mertil. Andalites, after all, place high value on their tail blades, especially the warriors; it's their number one go-to weapon when shit hits the fan. Ax himself is such a warrior, in fact it's a huge part of who he is as a person. Needless to say I think yeeting Ax's tail blade would be the exact kind of twisted irony that Truth would employ.

He gets over himself eventually-- well, sort of. However, it takes him a long time to truly come to terms with it-- instead of accepting that the attitudes he'd been taught his whole life regarding those who aren't fully able-bodied are actually shit, I feel like he'd be more likely to double down on them, internalizing them, and actually go into full-on self loathing as a result.

He holds his metaphorical tongue, though, upon seeing that Tobias has suffered a payment that is arguably far more cruelly ironic-- given that Tobias is a bird, given that his initial attraction to the morph that eventually became his default body came from the sense of freedom and escapism only provided through flying, I think it's fairly obvious what Truth would take: his wings.

As for the others: Rachel has lost her arm (for basically the same reason Ed did), Cassie loses her hands (which she uses to, you know, help injured animals and stuff), and as for Jake... well, it was a bit of a struggle, the best I could come up with is the idea of him going blind much like Mustang did after being forced to open the Gate (though maybe not for the same reason, though... idk. If anyone has any better suggestions, please let me know lol, I couldn't think of any solid ideas for what body part would be ironic for Jake to lose). Marco is the only one who doesn't lose any outwardly visible body parts-- what he loses is his voice.

At some point, they are discovered, taken into custody by the Amestrian military, and eventually they end up in Colonel Mustang's office. Mustang listens to their story with a massive dose of skepticism. He isn't sure what to make of these bizarre barefoot children, nor their claims of fighting bodysnatching slugs from outer space by turning into animals, nor their wingless pet hawk, nor... well, he could only assume the other creature was some sort of chimera, although he had zero clue what animals could have possibly been used to make something with blue fur and extra eyes.

At this point, they're about to do a morphing demonstration to prove to the Colonel that they aren't completely batshit, when suddenly the door is slammed open, and a teenage boy with blond hair and sharp golden eyes comes sauntering in, accompanied by a hulking giant covered head to toe in a suit of armor.

The boy immediately starts shouting at Mustang, calling him a bastard and accusing him of wasting his time, to which Mustang responds by merely rolling his eyes and sighing, as if this sort of thing happens all the time (spoiler alert: it does). After a moment, the kid stops as he takes notice of the other kids standing in the room.

"So," he says, calmly, as if he wasn't yelling at his superior just a moment ago, "what's the deal with these fuckers?"

The casual use of the kind of language that would have surely landed them in hot water back home was quite shocking, but they don't comment on it. Instead, Rachel says, in a voice sweet as honey, "Oh, look, Marco. He's just as short as you are."

Before Marco could turn to glare daggers at her (come on, it wasn't like he could argue back in that moment), the boy goes absolutely ballistic, and the armored guy has to physically restrain him as he screams obscenities at Rachel ("The fuck did you just call me, you freakishly oversized bitch? I'll show you too-fucking-short-to-fucking-sit-at-the-fucking-table-without-a-fucking-booster-seat! Call me short one more fucking time, I fucking dare you to! You think I give a shit that you're a girl? I'll fuck that pretty face of yours right up, just you fucking wait--")

"Brother!" The armored guy cries. "Calm down!" Then, to the Animorphs: "I'm sorry about my brother's behavior. He's, um, a bit sensitive about his height."

"A bit sensitive" is the understatement of the century, but none of the Animorphs call him out on it. They're too dumbfounded by the sound of his voice, which sounds sweet, innocent, and, despite his size, sounds like it belonged to a boy no more than nine or ten years old.

And that's where I'm going to leave it for now, since I've spent way too long on this post already. I have a few other ideas, but mostly in bits and pieces, not really any more comprehensive plot points beyond this point. Please do let me know what you think!

A not-so-brief history of Hawkeye in Comics Part Two (spoilers below the cut)

A note on events, dying and doubling down on Hawkeyes

Comics love doing big events, and I'm not covering them in here. Partly because they are huge and complex and to just focus on Hawkeye would be an injustice to the stories, but also because the amount of stuff I would need to spoil would be way beyond just a little Hawkeye. Clint was involved in Secret Wars (1984), which was one of the first crossover events of its kind. Another notable era is 2004-2009, where there is an incredible amount of superhero politics driving big narratives. If you're new to comics, you might not know that characters dying is common and rarely permanent. This is relevant because while I said that I wouldn't talk about events, I think it would be pretty uncool to not mention that Hawkeye dies and is brought back to life (Avengers Disassembled, House of M, New Avengers #26). It's around here that Clint picks up the Ronin mantle.

This is also when Dark Reign/Dark Avengers is going on. For anyone who'd like some Clint whump from this era, there's a top notch naked torture scene in New Avengers Annual (2009). Clint is involved in several other big events and crossovers over later years, but that's definitely a seperate list.

In the time where Clint is dead, Captain America is hanging out with a group of newly formed Young Avengers, including archery badass Kate Bishop. Cap suggests to her that she take up the Hawkeye mantle and gives her Clint's old bow. After Clint returns, he becomes initially her mentor, before they form a very close friendship. Clint is initially doing Ronin things, but even when he lays down ninja robes, they decide to be very Hawkeye about the whole thing and both keep calling themselves Hawkeye, despite the obvious confusion this causes.

Hawkeye's ears: Hawkeye vs. Deadpool #0-4 (2014)

This is a fun little miniseries that you could treat as a Halloween special if you so desired. It's set in the time after Fraction's run and there are a few callbacks, but nothing major if you've not read that. Clint is a little short-tempered and hypermasculine in this run for my personal taste, but it's got lots of grumpy Clint Vs sassy Wade while they vaguely attempt to team up. The thing this run does really well is Clint's deafness, despite the lack of visible hearing aids. There are comments around lip-reading, wearing aids when wearing other headgear, there's some sign language, and this is the run where Deadpool pulls his mask up so Clint can lipread and see his face while he signs (facial expressions are really key in sign language). It's lovely. Otherwise the run gives you a Kate cameo, some Deadpool and Hawkeye disaster/shenanigans, and perhaps most importantly, the return of the skycycle.

Key background: All New Hawkeye #1-6 (2015)

This run is often overlooked, but the art in the flashbacks is beautiful. We get some key information around Clint and Barney's abusive home situation - with their dad who drank and beat them, and how they ended up in care after their parents died, and subsequently their early days in the circus. There is a definite shift in how Barney is characterized as a bad influence compared to the 2003 run. It parallels with the rest of the arc which focuses on Clint and Kate Bishop working together to get some kids out of a very bad situation. The rest of Lemires run is a little weird and has no major repurcussions for anyone except Barney (which I won't elaborate on because it's relevant to the Fraction run).

Back to your roots: Tales of Suspense #100-104 (2017)

Seeing Clint cycle back and return to Tales of Suspense is really lovely. This comic is one of my all time favourites. It's incredibly tight story-telling with a great plot and really fun dynamic. The premise is Clint and Bucky teaming up to figure out the body trail being left after Black Widow's death. Clint is obnoxious and a delightful mess, Bucky is sporting a permanent scowl and is hilariously level-headed. It's a lot of fun and it's a lovely build on the tension and teamwork between these two idiots (who I, as an avid Winterhawk shipper, am completely gone for, but even without that, this is a great comic.) It also has some killer covers, and the facial expressions are absolutely hilarious.

Hawkeyes together: Hawkeye #13-16 (2017) and West Coast Avengers #1-10 (2018)

The Hawkeye run is Kate Bishops run and it has a larger continuing storyline that runs from the beginning of her Hawkeye and way into WCA, but I've listed the issues that you'll want for Kate and Clint shenanigans, and you should be able to catch up without the rest if you don't want it. These comics are ridiculously fun, especially West Coast Avengers, which has Kate leading the team this time. There's loads of jokes, and it strikes a nice balance between Hawkeyes being disasters and being hyper competent. Truthfully, this is Kate's show, and Clint takes a backseat, but their dynamic is killer here so I think is deserves a mention. There are also plenty of Clint related wardrobe malfunctions and Lucky the Pizza Dog is around.

Our most recent boy: Hawkeye freefall #1-6 (2020)

I haven't read this one yet, but it's been extremely well received by the fandom. As a result, good news: no spoilers! It's a short run, which may have had something to do with it being published during 2020, and specifically around a time when Marvel were experiencing some major distribution issues (which would have led to digital release only and as a result lower sales), but that's all guesswork because I haven't actually researched it. This run has someone dressing as Ronin and letting Clint take the blame for their nefarious deeds (oh no!). Clint makes some classic Clint (read: dumpster fire) decisions, and the art looks fun and vibrant. Can't really give you more without reading it myself 😅 If you need more Clint still, he's also rumoured to be knocking around in the 2020 Black Widow run, but I've not had the money to get my mitts on that yet either.

Notable AUs:

Marvel is a big fan of throwing a well known cast into an alternative universes, so there are a few other places to look for him.

The Ultimates universe was largely speaking a bit of a shitshow, but they did give us a very dark and gritty Clint, so if that's your jam, ultimate hawkeye is the place to be. Old Man Hawkeye appears alongside Old Man Logan, and they are both, you guessed it, old. It's not the only time we get Clint as a wrinkly dude (the second half Lemire's run also has some timey-wimey stuff happening), but this is a version of Clint who is going blind (granted we've seen that before too, but this is a darker vibe than Blindspot). Wanna know who the greatest marksman is without his sight - old man Hawkeye for you! Finally there's the Zombie 'verse: zombie Clint is a little confused, but he's got the spirit. Clint got zombiefied and then left in some rubble as only a head for 40 years before getting picked up, so he's a little worse for wear. If you need that in your life then Marvel Zombies is your universe. For a full rundown of all the universes including animated and MCU, click here.

Notable aliases:

Clint's been a few other people than Hawkeye in the 616 universe (the main Marvel Comics universe). He used one of Hank Pyms growth serums and became a giant strongman in Avengers #63 (1969) and stuck around in his Goliath form for more than a few issues. After Cap had died, Clint returned from the dead and tried on Captain America for all of one issue in Fallen Son #3 (2007). He decided (with a little help from Kate) that it wasn't right to wear the uniform, which in turn led to some interesting tension between him and Bucky Barnes when Buck did become the new Captain America. Finally, there's his most well-known alternate persona: Ronin. Clint becomes Ronin after returning from the dead, wanting a break from his Hawkeye persona and an opportunity to become Ronin arises in New Avengers #27 (2007). Clint is not the only person to have used these aliases. Additionally, Hawkeye has been used not only by Clint and Kate Bishop, but also by Bullseye during the Dark Reign.

The things we haven't talked about

Like I said at the very beginning, there is a lot of Clint Barton knocking around in comics and even with all this there's a lot of content I haven't focused on. For instance, I've not talked a lot about his relationships, beyond his marriage to mockingbird (and really I only scratched the surface with that), and honestly once you start getting into interpersonal relationships we're starting to move on from what can be done in a Tumblr thread.

objectively the most badass name for a tv show

anyways here's my review of the first season. it is ranked. but rankings change depending on whether I wanna look at pretty animation or be invested in characters/story. there are short, slightly (extremely) stupid reviews next to them too.

(Also rankings are so hard. Am I basing it off of rewatchability? how impressed I was on the first watch? would I want to go back to that world? the animation? the characters? my investment in the story? Currently, I'm going off of what feels right and how excited it makes me basically)

18. The Dump: Eh. I couldn’t get into it. Boring animation, like it was definitely good quality, but nothing particularly interesting. Like okay, dumpster monster. Cool cool cool. This felt so long when it was relatively a shorter episode.

17. Alternate Histories: Never have I been so disappointed so fast. The premise sounded so cool, I was really hoping they’d go realistic with this one, explore some really interesting theories/possibilities. If I look at it objectively, pretty okay. I liked hitler’s long legs, did not enjoy the weird prostitute part, and had an okay time at the ending. Eh.

16. When the Yogurt Took Over: I don’t get it. Oh wow, humans are so dumb even the yogurt left us. Or oh wow they were so smart they got everything they wanted genius yogurt. Okay so? I didn’t care about anything happening, because I got over it kinda fast.

15. Lucky 13: Fun. I love pilots loving their ships, especially with this slightly sentient(?) ship thing going on. I enjoyed the rise to the top, could’ve been a less predictable fall perhaps.

14. Ice Age: Great start, I was hooked from the second the civilization started developing. Might’ve helped that I was high as fuck while watching this. Didn’t really go anywhere, there was no resolution, no reason, nothing. Honestly just felt a little underdeveloped, they should’ve pushed it a little. Very cool premise though.

13. Beyond the Aquila Rift: I don’t fully get the hype not gonna lie. Like I was interested definitely but the twist didn’t blow my mind it just seemed like it made sense. Didn’t have the ‘oh fuck’ moment and wasn’t especially blown away by the animation

12. Sucker of Souls: My favourite part of this was when they literally killed the exchange student. Very fun. Also when his head was split in half and it split into layers. Other than that, eh. The cat thing was interesting but then they never actually used it so what was the point. It just went nowhere and wasn’t that cool. Okay, I take that back the chase scenes/fight scenes/anything action was very engaging.

11. Shape-Shifters: I agree with that one guy who said bad-ass. I love it when fight scenes are actually all out because you KNOW motherfuckers tend to hold back for the sake of plot or whatever. I like it as a short though because it’s interesting to think about, I’m just not too interested in seeing where it goes after. (Which is a good thing because they did all the fun things in the short).

10. Three Robots: Really interesting, loved the characters, loved their skewed understanding of human history (kinda makes me question how much we really know about the past). Odd ending but high me was impressed

9. The Secret War: I was super into it. I love a good fight scene, great backstory, great animation. I just watched Aquaman and the creatures reminded me of those guys from the trench, especially with the flare at the end and I’m not complaining.

8. Blindspot: Why does this episode get hate. It’s a heist with robots how is it boring. I personally love heists, especially in the fast&furious style thing. I loved the characters too, and I’m now questioning my ability to get attached to robots this fast. Also enjoyed the murder, because I’m so used to people being saved at the last minute. I would definitely watch the fuck out of this movie because there could definitely be fun ways to fuck with the whole ‘there are no stakes because we can’t die’ thing.

7. Suits: PERFECT. So perfect there is nothing wrong with this like absolutely nothing wrong. I was into it, loved the robots, loved the characters, loved the world. Would wanna go back into this world and see more of it. Just the idea of casual alien encounters is so fun to me. I’d definitely watch this movie. Honestly felt bad when Jake died which is surprising with an 18-minute runtime. Basically, I view this as a little Pixar version of the show and I had a fun time.

6. Fish Night: So pretty so mesmerising so mystical. I wish the fish part went on for longer I would’ve watched the shit out of it. I kinda wanna go and see that whole scene again. Great short. Very perfect.

5. Helping Hand: Gravity but gory. Did not see it coming so it was a very fun surprise. Nothing wrong with this and I would watch again. Especially liked the part where no one somehow managed to save her and she figured it out on her own. (Not from a feminist point of view, more from a predictability point of view)

4. Sonnie’s Edge: Brilliant fucking animation (when the neon outfits/parts thing came I had to replay several times), great fight scene. I shouldn’t have been deceived by that dude’s girlfriend but she was good, so when she extended her nails through Sonnie’s skull it was great. Apart from the animation and the direction, the story did kinda fall flat now that I think about it. Like it felt a bit, okay so? types I think.

3. Good Hunting: Very great animation, great story, great storytelling. Loved the world and the way the world developed. Loved the automatons. Loved the combination of magic and machine. I didn’t expect her to be able to transform at the end so that was extremely fucking cool. Loved that she got her agency back and that the son was able to break away from his father’s habits. Hated seeing that one guy’s dick.

2. The Witness: SEXIEST animation. Spider-verse vibes especially with the bang! or whatever and I wish there was so much more of this. I was definitely more interested in the action sequences than in the weird sex stuff mostly because I saw no point to that. What was the point of the whole vladmir character when we don’t even know what he’s like. Like he was given way too much importance in my opinion. Technically she didn’t even have to leave that room. The loop stuff was pretty cool though like I had to go back to the beginning to make sure because- slight mindfuck. But I think this animation, and this beautiful beautiful world, was wasted on this average ass story. Could’ve been way cooler.

1. Zima Blue: Oh god this was a good fucking episode. Didn’t think it was gonna be this good. First of all the art itself was so cool. The were spray painting literal space rocks you cannot get more anything than that. Then his whole story? His origin? His truth? FUCK me. Also the animation was so distinct. It was so, it’s own. So specific. And it worked so well with the story. I don’t want anymore of this short in the best way possible. Also I thought of this art thing that starts like this but the blue starts becoming better and then a whole universe comes out of the blue and it starts right back where he started - murals of the universe. And his final work is a universe with like a tiny blue square to show that it repeats forever? Idk what that means but I kinda wanna make it but it’d definitely be plagiarism. Also I can’t do art.

So my friend @flags-and-fanfiction​ and I have this massive ML Rewrite that we’ve been planning for ages. We haven’t actually started a fic for it or anything, but since quarantine started, I’ve actually been drawing up some costumes for it.

Anyways I thought I’d share some of them with y’all cause I’m actually pretty proud of them!

First up we’ve got a redesign of Miss Chloé Bourgeois’ Queen Bee costume

This design might change at some point, and obviously I didn’t draw in hair or a mask or anything, but this is the outfit we’re probably gonna go with! If you want details about it I’m gonna have some extra stuff under the cut.

Okay let’s dive in here, I’m gonna have notes about the actual costume and about the rest of her design that wasn’t drawn here. Actual drawing stuff first:

I’m gonna try to work from the bottom up so let’s start with the shoes. Yes I know I kept the heels from the canon design, yes I know heels are high impractical for combat but hear me out:

Her suit is magical, if the suits’ are powered by tiny gods that can make the suits look like whatever their wielder truly desires, then I think its plausible that those tiny gods could use magic to allow the wielder to fight safely in heels if they really wanted it.

Chloé is pretty feminine in canon and we plan on keeping that in this AU, so I thought the heels would be a nice thing to keep.

Pointy things are good for jabbing your opponent if they grab you, I think Chloé would take advantage of things like that that other people would see as a weakness and turn them into a hidden strength.

I think that’s enough on the boots so let’s move on to the skirt

The skirt is actually dual purpose, yes it’s obviously a cute little skirt for our Queen and it adds a little splash of blue to her design. But one of the things we’ve decided on for this AU is that any miraculous based on an animal that can fly (Ladybug, Bee, Butterfly, etc), yeah, the person using that miraculous can now fly when transformed. So when Chloé needs to fly somewhere, that skirt will shift up and become wings on her back.

Aside from that, the skirt is another little bit of femininity to her costume and honestly, as long as they’re not long enough for you to step on or something, skirts give a great range of motion and I think Chloé would recognize and use that. In case you weren’t sure from the drawing there is actually a black miniskirt under the skirt that can switch into wings.

Next up the arm things, I just kinda thought they looked cool honestly? They do also follow the idea I mention before though of pointy things being good in close combat though. An alternate idea I’d considered but couldn’t get to work properly (because for some reason I was doing this on Paint 3D) with gloves lined with fuzz like I did on the shoulders. I still might change it to that idea in the future.

Next is the vest and undershirt. I don’t think there’s really much to elaborate on here, it’s just a vest and shirt. All I can really say is that i wanted to have a collar and goes out away from the neck but I didn’t really have room to draw it with the puffballs there so I just drew the shape but attached to her neck instead.

I already mention the puffballs, so I guess the only thing that I really wanted to say here was that those are supposed to be yellow with a light dusting of orange over the top of fuzz/fluff/whatever you wanna call it.

Next we have the things that aren’t in that picture but will be a part of her design in the fic, how her powers differ from canon, and anything else I can think of:

Her hair is gonna be a crown braid with little blue flowers woven in

Why flowers? That actually has to do with her powers! See we think that all powerful gods only giving their wielders one single power that they can only use once is dumb, so we’re changing that.

We don’t have the entire power system figured out, magic systems are hard y’all, but we do have some ideas. For Chloé her powers now are:

Main Power: we haven’t settled on a name for it, but those blue flowers? They’ll be used to seek out people how are willing and able to cooperate with the heroes in their fight. The magic that brings them to Chloé will also protect them from just getting insta killed by the akuma or something.

Secondary Power (might have more than one of these later): her weapon is gonna be a giant honey dipper, if needed she can use it to trap people in a giant glob of honey - and yes, this is basically just venom

We don’t have an official idea for her mask, because we’re changing basically everything for this AU, but I at least am thinking that she’d look cool with some sort of wire frame mask? Yeah they’re obviously not great for hiding faces, but neither are the canon masks, so chalk it up to miraculous magic disguising their identities.

That kinda thing would be so cool on her right? I love these kinds of masks so i just kind fell in love with the idea when I thought of it!

Anyways, I think that’s all the major stuff we’ve got for our version of Queen Bee right now. There’s more stuff we have for Chloé herself, like just as a character outside of the mask, but that can be its own post if people are interested. At some point soon ish here I’m probably gonna do a post about Night Prince, who is our take on Felix with the Black Cat miraculous (this isn’t an “Adrien loses his miraculous partway through the fic” type of thing, he has it from the start, we’re giving Adrien the Turtle when the time comes)

Ahhhh! I’m so amazed that I got to 500 followers despite the fact that I barely?? Post?? And sometimes I just talk about random shit but even then, I still appreciate all of you guys so much? I know that I only really started posting Haikyuu!! around my 300 mark, and I feel like the people after my 300 mark are the one’s who are active because of how much I come onto tumblr and then disappear. 

If you don’t know this, I’ve actually been writing on Tumblr since 2015/2016. I’ve just changed blogs so many times that it’s like, hey, this is my new blog. Or like, I would write for a few months, disappear, come back but then everyone who followed me was dead so I was like eh I’ll just start again or whatever. And I think this makes me very very soft because out of all the communities I’ve been in, I’ve truly felt more welcome/at home even?? With everyone in Haikyuu? Like yeah there’s shit that goes down every few days or whatever but it’s always so fun to see people interact with each other and though I was hesitant at first (because before this the only writer I’ve ever interacted with was Scout for marvel oop) I’m really glad I reached out to a few of y’all and vice versa. 

But despite that, Marvel will always hold a place in my heart and to everyone who followed me from my Marvel days, thank you for supporting me way back when. And even to my Narnia days (AHAHAHA). I don’t think I would’ve continued writing on tumblr without your guys’ support. I know that younger me appreciated you all for reading those old works (even if I hate my old writing now). 

And to everyone now, thank you for sending in asks or commenting on my works. I actually think I would’ve disappeared by this time from this blog if you guys didn’t interact. I’m not saying I’m writing for the follows or the notes, if that makes sense. But it’s more like, I feel less of a robot that people expect to churn out works. Idk, it makes me feel like a person? uhm hi im kinda new to the fandom so I'm not really sure with almost everything that's happening but all i know is i love love love the series so far. To make this short in order to save time, I just wanted to ask in what order should i read/watch bsd? I'm on chapter 45 in the manga and I'm not sure what to do exactly after finishing it someday. Can you give/suggest me an order or list? Thank you very much!

Hello Anon-san! First of all, welcome to bsd hell!

The manga is a very nice start. In bsd there’s many things apart from the anime and manga so I am gonna explain shortly what each is together with my recommended order of reading/watching. So...

BSD Universe Guide

1) Manga (79 chapters so far, updating at the start of every month)

2) Anime ( Season 1, Season 2, OVA(Hitori Ayumu), Movie (Dead Apple), Season 3)

3) Novels (Only the first 2 novels are released in english. Some of the others might be translated online or there might be reviews. I’m gonna list them here together with alternative ways to learn the gist of their stories)

a) Dazai’s Entrance Exam (This one has been added in the first season of the anime, just with another timeline. It’s the Blue King/Messenger story. In the novel, the events happen 2 years before the anime timeline so Atsushi isn’t there and Dazai is a newbie fufu if you can get your hands on it though, then do so, it’s funny)

b) Dark Era (This one is depicted in the first 4 episodes of season 2. Some details have been changed and obviously the novel is better but you can understand the story just from the anime.)

c) Planning of Atsushi’s Entrance Exam + Founding of the Agency (This has not been shown anywhere. There should be translations/reviews online though. You can ask me for help finding them ^^)

d) 55 minutes (A completely new story in the current timeline. It’s fun and all but you don’t miss on the story so much even if you don’t read it. Again, if you can find it either online or when/if it’s released in english, do read it! It’s nice!

e)Dead Apple (Now this is just the scenario of the movie in novel form. You don’t have to read it to understand the story or anything.)

f) BEAST (This is an alternative story where Atsushi is in the Mafia and Aku is in the ADA, it doesn’t have anything to do with the original plot. But if you are curious, here’s a summary of it I had written while reading it.)

g) Fifteen (Dazai and Chuuya’s meeting story. It has been animated in the first 3 episodes of season 3 but there’s many parts that were cut and/or changed. You can read my summary/review of it here.)

4)BSD wan! (manga) Idk if anyone’s still translating it currently but there are many translated chapters and it’s hella funny and if you enjoy some comedy then you should totally read it!

5) Dead Apple Manga (It’s updating online in japanese currently. Idk if anyone’s translating it but it follows the events of the movie mostly so there’s no urgency to read it. But there are some extra scenes that are based off of an originals story for the game)

6) Bungou Tales of the lost (Mobile game, there’s also an english version. It has most of the stories and some few original scenarios like the one I mentioned above.)

7) BSD Gaiden (A completely side story featuring completely other characters but in the same universe. Ango appears in it. Tsujimura, who appears in the movie, first appeared here. And actually also meets Chuuya in it.) Now this has both a novel and a manga. If you are interested, you can find part of the manga translated online.

Okay I think that’s all. Just the manga and novels are enough to enter the BSD world but if you wanna get in deeper there’s many things you can do. If reading is to your liking then take the time to read some of the books the original authors had written. No Longer Human is awesome for example XD

I dont think I ever said anything about this, but when I replayed the skyrim romance mod after it got an update a while back, it seemed like someone read my random comments about it and like....actually tweaked the mod?? which is really cool imo. putting this under a cut since I think the mod still generally has a bad rep, even though it seems like theyre working on that in some capacity. I didnt really even know what the drama was about in the first place.

literally everything I talked about that could be fixed within a reasonable amount of time was fixed. back then (~3-4 yrs ago) I was a little more tolerant of the “bad boy, borderline abusive” type and while the character himself seems to be intentionally pushy, it seems to be a bit better. if I remember correctly, I think they cut the rapey bits and just worked around it so that bishop was still a brat about your player not wanting to have sex, but not a scary horny nutcase. theres a big difference between “youre gonna have sex with me one of these days wench!!” and “ugh, fine, be like that!” its def not A+, but it is an improvement that still suits the character. I obviously wasnt too bothered with the earlier version back then (had some stuff I was going through), but now I can see the concern, and to me its less cringey. Id have to replay it again to see how I feel exactly, but Im sure its better at least.

they re-did the whole interaction with cael so instead of him talking about how he could give you orgasms like youve never seen, hes cautious of you yet still kind of flirty. a real sweetie. I mean, I like the new bit, but he could also let me know hes dtf a little bit. lmao thats just me though. 

the one thing I did not like too much was that they added animations for the sex scenes, and that you had no choice but to sit through them (unless you said no to sex altogether). since I literally set the camera so that I could not see the sex anims, I did get to hear bishops VA during the scenes and Imma just say.......... you should hear them. even if its just the once. lmao. I read that theyre gonna cut out the sex mod dependencies so that you can just have fade to black scenes, and I am for that 1000000%. 

now I just hope it gets ported it to the special edition, because it seems waaay too hard and time consuming to do it myself. I tried to start but the list of tasks was just too long to justify working on when I have homework and other stuff to do.

outside all that, I can see why there was such a bad vibe surrounding the mod at first. it all made sense when I read about the drama on reddit, but the harshness  was a bit... much?? from what I read, the creator made some bad choices and eventually acknowledged/fixed them. her reasoning and intentions for making them could be questionable, but people are human, idk what else to say. Im just... not grabbing a pitchfork over this and I fail to see any reason to continue that now lmao. she obviously still wants to hold everything together for the mod and do things better so... Im not gonna hold a grudge even if she made bad choices. she ultimately canceled the kickstarter, and this is all ultimately over a mod. a skyrim mod. you either wanna play and support it or you dont because of very valid reasons. its up to you. but either way it just will never be that serious.

I honestly got the impression that she might be a bad person from stuff I read until I got the chance to read about everything, and then I was like wow.. she fucked up, but the worst thing she did was undone the same day it happened so...like... yall couldve just went on about your lives and left this woman alone. 

anyway, long talk. it seems like the mods at a standstill, since it hasnt been ported to the SE yet and I dont think the creator herself has made any announcements about actual updates coming soon. but I actually hope things stay positive for the mod. 

(also psa, this is for my followers/mutuals if there interested in talking about it. Ive tagged this for the sole purpose of being able to be filtered by those who dont want to hear anything about it.)

Update: so I downloaded the beta for the SE. it wasnt working for me as the dialogue would seem to break anytime after I used racemenu. I literally cant play skyrim without changing my hair, and the person in charge of the beta said to try playing it on a no-rush new game so... I kind of gave up. I had started over twice after already sinking 4-8 hours into those 2 new games, specifically for the mod, and I just didnt feel like doing it again.

Replaying the bits that I could, I will say it is... kind of cheesy. Doesnt bother me much though. I used to write bad fanfiction, so its not the worst. Its just not impervious to being... cheesy at times. Idk how to put it lol. Maybe you could say its tropey? Like something youd read in a romance novel with those dramatic traditional cover illustrations. Not bad. Just, if you hate that kinda thing, you might not be into it. Im not very critical because the alternative is like. 1 other mod? So I just dont mind.

Outside of that I kind of have no idea what my complete opinion is on it now. I intended to find out, but gave up due to modding issues. I was a little younger when I first played it, so I may have different opinions on it now. As I mentioned before my opinion of sex and certain character traits used to be different, and its changed a lot since then. Its still kind of changing even now. I still go “yeah... that was the trauma” about stuff I used to think was not so bad.

To be honest I didnt even remember having an opinion of it as cheesy a few years ago, but now after replaying for the 3rd time Im like... from what little Ive seen so far, its some pretty sharp cheddar lol. So if it is a lot worse than you felt you were led to believe from reading this, Im sorry, and you can inbox me about it. Especially since I may not ever even play the newest version.

Now here's something I haven't asked you in a long time: a "Fav and Least Fav" ask related to Pokémon. Favorite and least favorite Gym Leaders of each type they specialize in? Kahunas and Trial Captains will count, but if one ends up as your fav/least fav, I'd suggest separating them and the actual Gym Leader that's your fav/least fav of their type. Also, Bede and Marnie's statuses as Gym Leaders will count too, mostly just so Piers can have some competition with his sis. :P

Alrighty. Time to sit down and tackle this!

Normal Type- Least Favorite: Whitney. WHITNEY. That damn Milktank. I’m sure she’s killed many a Nuzlocke team. And yet still has the gall to cry like a baby when she loses. She also comes across as one of those vapid dumb and pretty trend girls. “Everyone was into pokemon so I got into it too!” I really think skill is the only thing they care about when they hand out the title of Gym Leader sometime because this chick really doesn’t seem to be the type who’d normally get this type of authority.

Normal Type- Most Favorite: Cheren. He is adorable baby husband. Though mostly it’s really cool to see another rival become a gym leader like Green did. I just wish they’d kept his glasses instead of for some reason swapping them to Bianca for some reason.

Fighting Type- Least Favorite: Korrina. Her character art bugs me. Is she seriously supposed to be wearing skates and also doing fighting moves? I can’t even stand on four wheel skates without nearly breaking every bone below my waist. And you’re telling me this girl runs around doing axe kicks on roller blades??? No thank you. Also she hoists a Lucario onto you. I like raising my pokemon from their earliest point and you go and make me have to take one because I’d feel bad if I didn’t since it wants to come with me now.

Fighting Type- Most Favorite: Brawly. Mostly because he’s hot. Slightly because his gym is actually a gym with workout equipment in the remake and I find that amazing and hilarious.

Flying Type- Least Favorite: Skyla. Partially because of her anime counterpart. Mostly because I hate her design. Why are her wrists so thick on those gloves? Why is she wearing boots, a cropped jacket, those weird gloves, and what look closer to boxer style panties than shorts underneath a bunch of bondage-y belts? She looks like a generic anime waifu more than a pokemon character. Like a Mega Man OC. Of one of those weird dating games where the women are just objects in female coded human form Skyla’s a humanized seatbelt.

Flying Type- Most Favorite: Falkner. Because Kahili isn’t a gym leader. Congrats, Falkner. You cute little bugger. Also he’s the only notable male flying type trainer.

Poison Type- Least Favorite: Prepare the flame shields. I don’t like Roxie. Small children as Gym Leaders bug the hell out of me. I see Gym Leaders as characters with high authority in the pokemon world. I hate the idea of kids who look like they’re only a few years out from learning the alphabet and basic mathematics having any kind of power in a region. The only exception I have is Galar because the gym leaders feel less important since they’re merely sports celebrities. ...Also I hate Roxie’s Pebbles Flintstone hair. It makes her look even more like a baby to me.

Poison Type- Most Favorite: Koga. Despite the fact I still think that he and Sabrina had their gyms switched, he’s still my favorite. He even became a member of the Elite 4 and left the gym to his daughter. I find that sweet.

Ground Type- Least Favorite: (Actually Hapu, because of reasons stated above for Roxie, except even more because this kid is a freaking KAHUNA. Why is this little mud farm girl chosen to be the KAHUNA of a whole dang island and one of the most important people in Alola? Surely the Tapus could find someone better, but then again the gods must be crazy.) Clay. Because he looks like a Texan Business Tycoon. And I’m a left-leaning American. That should probably explain things well enough. Because boy howdy do I not wanna open that can of worms. Maybe if I ever get to the point of fighting him in Black Version my opinion will change. But like I said. My real answer is Hapu. Clay just has the misfortune of being next at the bottom of the line.

Ground Type- Most Favorite: Giovanni. Because he is my mafia husbando and I am a garbage human. Have you seen a picture of the man in the “How I became a Pokemon Card” manga? Hot damn. And his newer pokemon cards? HOT DAMN.

Rock Type- Least Favorite: Gordie. This Ronaldo Fryman looking fucknugget with accessory tips from Bling Bling Boy on Johnny Test. He looks like one of those smug basement dweller types who’d call me a FEEEEEMALE if I turned him down for a date. Also his official art does the same thing I hate about Diantha’s. His knee faces more inner-forward but his foot’s pointing outward. Unless that picture’s drawn with him in mid dance spin, dude’s ankle is broken. At least he looks kind of cute when he doesn’t have his hair styled back in that douchey style. I feel like he’d yell about feemales again if I told him I thought his mom was hot. Also he’s not wearing socks with dress shoes and that should be a criminal offense.

Rock Type- Most Favorite: Roxanne is super cute. Even if she’s skirting the line of young people in positions of power she actually looks like a mature person who was ahead of her age level in school. However I will object to the idea of her being a teacher in any shape or form like in the anime. This person hasn’t even struggled through the mental ravages of puberty aint no way she should be allowed to be a teacher.

Bug Type- Least Favorite: Burgh, if only because people use him as a stereotype a lot and I hate that. Toxic masculinity is bs. MEN CAN BE FABULOUS WITHOUT BEING GAY. That said, his pants and shoes are a color crime.

Bug Type- Most Favorite: Guzma is the equivalent of a Bug Type trial captain and you will never convince me otherwise. I- what- you’re really gonna fight me on this? Fine. Bugsy. Bugsy is my precious bug-catching child. Precious baby.

Ghost Type- Least Favorite: Acerola. I’ve already stated why I hate kids in power like this. Plus I just. do not like. characters with the bubbly personality and the cat mouth. I instantly know I’m going to dislike a character the moment I see that damn catmouth. I’m not coming up with a non-trial alternative for this one. I am either neutral to or love the other ghost trainers.

Ghost Type- Most Favorite: Morty. Because 1. He’s hot. 2. He’s got a sweet scarf. 3. Agatha’s not a gym leader. :P Morty has a very nice design. After the remakes came out anyways.

Steel Type- Least Favorite: There’s only like two of these. I don’t hate Jasmine at all but she’s the only other actual gym leader of the Steel Type. So we’re gonna use Molayne anyways. Mostly because his stick-ass gangly legs give me the creeps.

Steel Type- Most Favorite: I’ve never met him but Byron looks like a miner hobo and I dig that. Plus he made Roark and Roark’s hot. (Then why isn’t Roark my favorite rock gym leader? Because not all my favorites can be because of my asexual thirst.)

Fire Type- Least Favorite: Blaine always makes me think of my grandfather and I am not that fond of my grandfather. Even though Blaine seems much much nicer and friendlier a grandpa than my actual grandfather.

Fire Type- Most Favorite: Flannery’s design is adorable and I love it. Doesn’t hurt that it’s also the kind of outfit my more pro-fire trainer would wear.

Water Type- Least Favorite: Marlon. Don’t get me wrong. Marlon’s hot. But he gets to be least favorite for lying about being a tan boy. Seriously look at that tan line around his swim suit that pastey white skin does not do his design favors.

Water Type- Most Favorite: Wallace. This one is pure thirst. Pure. Thirst. Wallace is a babe. I love everything about this fabulous bastard. Especially his hat and scarf in the remake. Especially the remake. Babe.

Grass Type- Least Favorite: Milo. I’m starting to feel like the people who design and did the art for some of these newer characters don’t know how bulkier people’s legs work. Because Milo and Gordie’s legs just look really, really wrong. These characters do not have ankles their calves just end at flat feet. Also milo’s leg is doin that broken ankle thing too. Other images don’t make them look as bad, though. Other than that I hate characters who have no whites to their eyes. It’s freaking creepy and Milo’s baby face doesn’t help. And I can not figure out the design of this guy’s eyebrows either. I know he has them but they don’t look like the anything but exist to blend with his bangs.

Grass Type- Most Favorite: Erika. I like her design a lot. I guess some of the weeb in me still exists deep in there.

Electric Type- Least Favorite: Sophocles. I just don’t like his design. At all. Only other arguments I could give are the kid with with Clemont again. That and his jumpsuit.

Electric Type- Most Favorite: Lt. Surge, Volkner, and Elesa are are great. But Elesa wins because Lt. Surge is a paranoid soldier who makes getting to him a chore and Volkner looks like he takes the same brooding pills they fed to Cloud after Final Fantasy Advent Children turned into into the broodlord. Also ‘urgh need actually challenging opponents’ characters bug me, regardless of how attractive they are.

Psychic Type- Least Favorite: Tate and Liza. But this time the main reason ISN’T because they’re babies. No, no. That’s a big reason, but even being psychics can’t save them. They have a BIG problem. The main reason for these two is that their gym team is garbage. Emerald and Black2/White2 not counting in this because of the remake being their current gym team in my eyes its just a damn solrock and lunatone! I love me Lunatone, don’t get me wrong. But damn, kids. How are you actually gym leaders with a team of pokemon that is barely suitable for the gym trainer in the first gym of the region? The only starter that can’t hit you with a super effective move is the fire starter. Being a double battle only means that I can get rid of your pokemon faster because I get to use TWO pokemon moves on my turn.

Psychic Type- Most Favorite: Olympia. Her design is absolutely beautiful. I want her dress. I want her cape. She is the black and silver space queen and she WILL BE RESPECTED IN THIS HOUSE. Even if whoever did her art doesn’t seem to realize dresses don’t slip into the navel or hug into the crotch hole. Surprised whoever drew it didn’t also add the camel-toe since they think fabric works that way. If I were her I’d strangle someone with one of those magical floaty ring bracelets. Space mom aint having non of your objectification shit.

Ice Type- Least Favorite: Candice. You live in a winter town. Your gym is an ice slide hell. Put on some goddamn pants and a coat. I’m not gonna give you any sympathy when you end up with the worst cold ever.

Ice Type- Most Favorite: Melony. She is adorable and has actual weight to her. And she loves her kids. And holy shit look at her she’s actually dressed for cold weather and ice unlike nearly every other goddamn Ice Gym Leader besides Pryce.

Dragon Type- Least Favorite: Claire is an arrogant b-witch who cant accept defeat and is worst that whitney because at least Whitney gave you your earned badge when she stopped crying like a baby. Claire refused until you did some ‘trial’ and still didn’t think she’d have to give you the badge until granddad dragon master told her to stop being a child. Also she gets more least favorite points because she’s what has prevented me from talking about how much I hate Iris here. That’s right, Claire. I dislike you so much you get MORE hate points because you prevent me from hating another character more than you.

Dragon Type- Most Favorite: Raihan is a babe and the most challenging Gym Leader I’ve ever faced. Bonus points because technically I wouldn’t call him a type-based gym leader but a strategy based leader because he focuses on weather more than dragons. Plus his “Leader Challenges You!” post makes him look a little wild.

Dark Type- Least Favorite: Marnie. Because I wanted to see her brother again so I invited him to the Championship thing and Marnie freaking cockblocked me by beating her brother in the first round. LET ME SEE YOUR BROTHER, MARNIE.

Dark Type- Most Favorite: Piers is my husband and Marnie’s just gonna have to deal with it. :P He’s super cute and his worrying over Marnie in the post game was the cutest damn thing. Plus young Piers in his rare league card is so precious and gives me life. It’s gonna take a lot of work for any other dark type trainer to top Piers.

Fairy Type- Least Favorite: Mina. I hate Mina. Lazy/Unfocused/High artist characters piss me off. Alo Mina should have been a normal type trial captain because of smeargle and the fact that Ilima has pink hair and the same huge buggy-like water eyes Valerie has. Mina even dips her damn hair in paint like Smeargle does with its tail. Mina couldn’t be assed to have an actual trial the first time around. Second time around she just made you go collect something from people you already beat.

Fairy Type- Most Favorite: Bede. If you can’t look this beautiful sparkly eye angel of a child in the eyes and find him amazing once he becomes Opal’s apprentice, you have no soul and should probably get that looked at.

Title: How do I harem? (FFVII x RWBY)

Jaune: Cloud, I need your help.

Cloud: With what?

Jaune: I wanna build myself a harem!

Cloud (raising an eyebrow): ...What?

Jaune (boastful, but a little shy): A legion of women! Chasing after the magnificent lady-killer, Jaune Arc!

Cloud: No can do, friend.

Jaune: What?! “No can do”, my ass! Look at yourself!

*Cloud looks down at himself, and sees Tifa Lockhart, Terra Branford, Lucina, and Squall Leonhart wrapping theirselves around Cloud’s body*

Cloud: This? Oh. I didn’t even notice this until now.

Jaune: So...will you help me? Like a blonde-haired, blue-eyed warrior to another blonde-haired, blue-eyed warrior? Please?

Cloud (sighing): ...Fine. Just be yourself.

Jaune: Th-That’s it? Just be yourself?

Cloud: I’m pretty sure that’s I did it.

Jaune: Alright, I’ll your advice into consideration!

*The next day...*

Jaune: CLOUD!

Cloud: Agh, not so loud. What is it?

Jaune: It didn’t wo- Why do you have different women wrapping around you? And different men?

*Cloud looks down at himself, and sees Yuffie Kisaragi, Lightning Farron, Ramza Beoulve, Zelda (L2TP version), and Link (BotW version) wrapping theirselves around Cloud’s body*

Jaune: What do you mean “you don’t know”?!

Cloud: I’m just too good for myself, I suppose.

Lightning (nuzzling into Cloud’s chest): You really are.

Jaune: Anyways, I took your advice and it didn’t work! I tried asking Weiss out (again), but she’s already dating Ruby (not to mention that she insulted me)! I tried asking Yang out, but she’s already dating Blake (not to mention that she called me names other than “Vomit Boy”)! And I can’t ask Nora out because she’s dating Ren and also because of the fact that the two have loved each other since they were kids and also because I think those two make a cute couple! And I can’t ask Pyrrha because...well, you know...

Cloud: Hm. Well, I’m sure you’ll find a way. Just not from me.

Jaune: This coming from the guy who’s literally dating nine people.

Cloud: To be honest, even I don’t know how I’ve built myself a “harem”. It just...sort of happened.

Jaune: Give me better advice or else.

Cloud (leaning in): Or what?

Jaune (leaning in, smiling): I’ll tell on Lucina on you.

Cloud: So? She already knows that I hang out with a lot of women. And three men.

Jaune: True, but does she know that you’re actually dating them? Does she know that you’re dating more than one person? Do you think she’ll be happy to know that? Do you think her parents will be happy to find out?

Cloud (squinting at Jaune and dreading the thought of a jealous Lucina hunting him down): ...Go search out there, somewhere that isn’t here.

Jaune: Huh?

Cloud: Maybe those girls just aren’t for you. Perhaps you should go out and travel towards different parts of the universe.

Jaune: You truly think that’ll work?

Cloud: It’s how I met up with these three. *Points at Lightning, Zelda, and Link*

Jaune: Alright, I shall go out there, and searching in deep, different parts of the universe, and built myself that harem!

Cloud: Get outta here already.

Jaune: That, I will! With confidence and charms by my side, there’s no way I’m gonna fail! *Runs off boastfully*

Cloud (sighing): That kid, I tell ya...

Lightning: You’re so screwed when Lucina finds out about this.

Yuffie (teasingly and singing): You’re so screwed~! You’re so screwed~!

Cloud (dreading the thought): Rrgh...

*The next day...*

Cloud (with nobody wrapping around his body): Sheesh, calm down.

Jaune (catching his breath): Cloud! Okay, so...good news, other good news, and bad news...good news is, your advice worked and I’ve got myself three women chasing after me. Other goods news is, they’re all alternate versions of Pyrrha Nikos, Weiss Schnee, and Blake Belladonna.

Cloud (crossing his arms): So, what’s the problem?

Jaune: The bad news is, they’re SUPER obsessed with me. There was LUST in their eyes the moment they saw me in sight. And now, they’re currently hunting me down like a defenseless animal and they all wanna carry my-

*Three figures appear from the distance, one is Pyrrha Nikos with heart-shaped eyes, one is a black color-swapped Weiss Schnee, aka Bleiss, the other is Blake Belladonna with yandere eyes, and they’re all smiling like a bunch of maniacs*

Pyrrha/Bleiss/Blake: JAUNATHON ARC!!!

Jaune: Oh fuck! Don’t tell them I’m in here! *Hides behind a couple of trash cans*

Cloud (holding his hand to his face): Oy.

Bleiss: YOU! Tall, dark, and spiky! Where’s my future husband?

Cloud (sarcastically): Perhaps if you ladies gave me a brief description of who he is, maybe I’ll tell you.

Blake: About six feet tall, a well-built body-

Bleiss: And he’s currently wearing an hoodie with an adorable bunny on the front! I want that hoodie for myself!

Cloud: Then why don’t you go buy one at the store?

Bleiss: But his hoodie is special! It has that irresistible scent of his! Ooh...just the thought me wearing alone-

*The three girls get into a massive argument, Cloud looks back at Jaune, who’s still hiding, nods at him to make run for it, and Jaune does so, only to accidentally trip and knock a couple of trash cans over, grabbing the girls’ attention*

Jaune: Agh, damnit!

Pyrrha: There he is!

Bleiss: Ah~! The father of my children!

Blake: MY children! His children are-

Pyrrha: MINE!

Jaune (gets up and fucking runs): Cloud! Help!

Cloud: That’s on you, friend. This is your problem now. All I did was give you advice, and look where it got ya.

Jaune: Oh, that’s bull- AGH! Ohfuckohfuckohfuckohfuck!

*The three girls give chase*

Pyrrha: Jaaaaauuuuuune~!

Bleiss: You know what they say, my beautiful, blonde dense bastard! You can run...

Blake: But you can’t hide!

Jaune: HELP!!

Cloud (smirking): Hmph. Serves him right. That ought to-

*Cloud bumps into a very pissed off Lucina*

Cloud: Lucina?!

Lucina: I heard about a rumor going on that you were actually dating those other five other women we hung out with two days ago. And three men. Is this true?

Cloud: ...(Damn that Jaune...) ...Yes, it’s true.

Lucina: Well, I would be mad, but...

Cloud: Ehh?

Lucina (calming down): Truth be told...I was actually dating five other men AND three women myself, so...who am I to talk?

Manga Recommandations ...

Yeah, I am finally doing what nobody asked for. I am gonna give ya’ll a list of Manga that I think aren’t that well known but are great and worth a read (at least in my opinion), Sounds Good? Alrighty let’s get this going them! 

Groundless - Sekigan no Sogekihei       

Now that is one Manga that I would really like to continue and release chapters in english faster. But it seems like no one really bothers to translate it atm wich is sad :(                                                                                                                         Anyway, Groundless is set on an island in a somewhat modern fantasy world with a civil war rumbling on said island. The main character is Sophia who lost her husband and daughter after their arms shop got set up with a hughe order from the colonel of the army stationed there. All she has left is a sniper rifle her husband hid for her to sell in case something bad happens. Instead of selling it she decides to seek revenge and joins the local militia as a sniper. 

It’s got some pretty cool charakters, it’s brutal (not over the top brutal though) and the art is pretty good.

Afterschool War Activities

Alright, technically this is not quite a manga since it is a Webtoon but I like it and it is pretty cool ... yea.                                                                                              Set in a South Korean Highschool, the daily lifes of our class are dissrupted when strange things appear in the sky (strange and deadly). highschoolers and university students have to fill up the military ranks to fight this strange enemy off.

It has a lot of interesting characters in the school class we follow around and it gives a pretty good impression on the emotional stress and trauma the situation brings with it. 

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad

Let’s switch our guns out for something different now ... how about a guitar. Beck is one of my favourite Anime and Manga out there and I’d say everybody should give it a try because it is so good. First of, the Anime ends around Chapter 29 of the Manga and it sticks pretty closely to it. So if you want to watch the anime instead for the first quarter of the Story, there you go :P                                  Since I don’t really know how I should summarize the story of Beck without going on for the next ten minutes I’ll make it short. Yukio Tanaka gets into playing the guitar and starts to set his sights on becomming a rock star (the absolute breakdown version of it).                                                                           It has a lot of good drama, is super fun and has pretty good music (Anime Only :( ). The only thing that might put you off on the anime at least is the animations. They can be a bit whacky in normal situations. The manga however looks gorgeous all the time. Two last words: JUST READ IT GOD DAMN IT’S SO DAMN GOOD OMG 

In This Corner of the World

Oh yeah baby, we’re back with the War stuff. Though this time we don’t really see anything of the fighting itself. 

Rather we’re following a typical japanese family through their daily lifes during the second world war. Sound glum and boring? Don’t worry thanks our somewhat clumsy but loveable main charakter and a wonderfull cast in general it won’t be that glum mos.. well ... not all the time. And if the cast isn’t enough, the art of it is also very beautifull and you learn a lot about how live was during that time in japan (there is a whole vocabulary list at the end of each volume explaining certain words and phrases in the context of the war). 

But wait that is not all, if you don’t necessarily want to read through the 3 Volumes of it you can watch the movie on Netfilx. It will definitly be worth your time (maybe don’t watch it when you want something happy go lucky though).

Maria: The Virgin Witch

I know it might seem like I only read stuff that is set during some kind of war but I promise you that that is not the case and just a coincidence. This time the story is set in the Hundred Years’ War.                                                                             Maria our young and ambitious witch wants to stop the war with her sex appeal... Do I need to say more to convince you? Yes? Well alright. She herself is still a virgin so she sends her domestic deamon to do the sexy time part for her. God on the other hand doesn’t really like the idea that Maria wants to end the war wich leads to our little conflict between our cute little witch and an arch angel. 

With only three Volumes it’s a nice and quick read and a very fun one at that. Or you know... you could watch the anime wich is also decent.  

Black Rock Shooter: Innocent Soul

Alright, now we’re really done with the War stuff i promise :D                                 So you might’ve already heard of Black Rock Shooter and you might have watched the anime/ short movie ova thing. BRS IS takes the charakters of Black Roch Shooter and puts them in a alternate story that has nothing to do with the anime stuff.  

Set in  Hazama, a world between heaven and earth where souls land that are not worthy of going to heaven nor hell, we follow a girl called rock who is a Black Star whose job it is to keep order.                                                                            Again a very short manga with three volumes it has a nice story (though it get’s a bit hard to follow in the very last bit from what I remember right now) and a very beautifull art style. Also it has some super funny moments in it thanks to the great dynamic between our main protaganist and her side kick. 

Prophecy

Another three volume Manga comming right up. Prophecy.                                    A man uploads videos on definitly not youtube Mr. Copyright man, where he promises revenge for crimes that didn’t get punished hard enough (and pulls through with them). Meanwhile a special divison of the police force specialized in cybercrime tries to catch the man.                                                                           It’s a nice cat and mouse detective criminal story with an interesting take on social media and social injustice. It can feel a bit silly at the beginning when they talk about the internet but that might just be the german translation in my case :P  If you have a thing for some good crime stories definitly check it out.

Aion

One of my favorite and first manga. A manga I would really like to see as an anime but probably never will. I kinda don’t wanna say to much about it here because I probably wouldn’t find an end. So basically mermaids are real and they try to F up humanity with worms that control them. Our main protagonist meets the girl who has her sights set out to kill all the mermaids.                           It’s a really cool story and unique (as far as I remember it ... I need to read it again) with some nice characters and I also did a drawing of one f the characters that turned out pretty dope ... ok that last part is probably not that convincing to you so just check the manga out ok? Good. 

Boku Girl

Ok, you’re almost done by now. To end this list I have something with a bit more bare skin that is also a bit weird and a 100% hillarious and caused me to cry of laughter more than the number of it’s chapters. And it develops into a cute little love story aswell.

Out main character is Suzushiro Mizuki who is far from a a very masculine guy, In fact he get’s mistaken for a girl more than he’d like to. Even his crush thinks of him more as one of the girls. Meanwhile, Loki the Trickster god get’s bored with playing tricks on other gods so he plays one on Mizuki ... (also Loki is a girl ... in this one at least). Rambling about Sekiro (spoilers below read me):

- Evolution of "i'm scared to block, i like Souls rolling" to "okay i'll block and sort of deflect but only basic attacks i know" to "okay I don't even need to dash except for perilous attacks!"  to "okay now i can actually flip between defense and offense on the fly and this is SUPER fun!!"

- Basically, I've never in my life played a game where offense and defense mesh so well together, where blocking is FUN and viable, and seeing your attacks get deflected is actually GOOD and not just infuriating, because you're making progress in the fight.

- People've said Dark Souls is a little like a hard, combat focused Zelda but really, THIS is what that's like, and I'm in love. From did it.

- The upgrade system is neat and I appreciate it for rewarding exploration but also allowing you to challenge yourself by refusing to use them. Also it just works out really well for speedrun balancing and I can’t wait to see the evolution of speedruns in this game because there’s a good balance between wanting more power, posture, and HP and wanting to go as fast as possible.

- I absolutely adore the weird scientific/medicinal/supernatural macabre shit in this game. The red lump item gave me chills picking it up the first time. Same thing with seeing the first undying monk thing, I couldn't even burn it (but then I finally did it with THAT ITEM... more below)

- haha hand in a jar! haha that guy that flies at you... haha, monkey :) haha ninja dog...... hell even the headless... I love From's mix of disturbing humor (or just flat out being funny despite the bleak setting). Their version of mimics in Souls sum this up best but there's plenty of things here too that are just flat out hilarious and I love it.

- Oh Christ, speaking of, I did the Doctor questline and oh god it gave me some of that Bloodborne dread.

- "IS THAT A FUCKING DARK SOULS?" also lmao when he falls

- "IS THAT THE FUCKING CHAOS BLADE!??" oooh fuck oh fuck *pushes up glasses* remember the cut content with Shiva in Dark Souls???

- Sekiro/Wolf having the "defy your father, break the code" moment was SO good and I love that whole archetype. Simple but I just... <3 Oh god and When Owl is basically just like "that's my boy" when you kill him... I... u_u

- giving Lord Kuro rice was SO cute and just furthered my love for Wolf because this child is teaching him part of how to be himself and to also enjoy things (basically chill the fuck out you freaking murder machine, you are more than that) through compassion, friendship, and a reminder of his own childhood and I don't really get emotional over stuff like this often but awww..! ;_;

- The sake dialogue moments are so good. A very simple concept but I love the nature of sharing part of one's past through a friendly offering, it felt like a really good balance between clear concise mechanics (sake) fitting neatly with narrative elements. It's basically just a dialogue item but it didn't FEEL that way. I felt genuine excitement upon finding new drinks knowing I'd get a chance to share it.

- OH MY GOD ENFEEBLED IS SUCH A GOOD ASS STATUS EFFECT??? THE ANIMATIONS!!! He just hobbles around like a dude who just suddenly became an old man (’cuz that’s literally what it is) with his sword as a cane??? I LOVE FROMSOFT! That shit is so wonderfully expressive but also fits perfectly with that style of horror humor (and I lied before. Mimics are beaten by THIS status effect. New number one spot for my fave moment like this in a From game)

- Oh also speaking of animation, those fucking boss kills!!! *deep inhale* BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- While not my favorite boss mechanically, SPECIFICALLY that kill animation on the Giant Ape... DUDE HOLY FUUUCK! and then the fake out!?!?!? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! SO good!

- Lady Butterfly was a fun main boss and O'Rin of the Water was a fun mini boss. Plenty of others were fantastic but those stood out. Like, two of my friends so far have expressed the same feelings on Butterfly! Good Fight!

- I even liked the gimmick fights! They did it! Gimmick fights that are actually well designed! They're more about exploring mechanics outside of pure combat without punishing you super fucking hard at a random point just because they can. (Bed of Chaos, Micolash) Strangely a little bit of a breather, which is fitting because it’s a perfect counter balance to the stress of finding yourself in a unique situation. They actually give you time to analyze, think, and breathe it all in!

- I'm currently stuck on an end game "secret"/optional boss with some classic From Lore Implications *ok hand* and it's brutal af. I am excited to learn how to master this.

 --- SLIGHT CRITICISM (basically the “i love it so much i can’t help but see small flaws but I’d still give it a 10/10 anyway” part) ---

- I like that even when they repeat mid bosses they usually put them in a new arena to change things up. I think a FEW were a little overdone though and could have benefited from maybe... I dunno, a couple new ones in their place or at LEAST alternate movesets to change things up a bit more than just location BUT the combat is engaging enough that I don't mind, I just found it a LITTLE weird how despite the rest of the polish there was a tad bit of copy-paste (but far FAR less egregious than DS1)

- Idk how replayable this game is gonna be but I can definitely see myself finishing NG+ and doing two more playthroughs for all endings. It's replayable more in the Metroid or Legend of Zelda sense and less in the Dark Souls character build sense. "I wanna try a new route first and beat bosses more effectively this time. I wanna be as stealthy as possible this run" etc. and not "I wanna make an int build" (less a critique and more an observation on how it differs from Souls replayability)

- Dragonrot is like, the only actual flaw in this game imo. It doesn't have enough depth. I was thinking it would have more end game narrative significance but it's just something tied to the sort of useless unseen aid mechanic which fails to really incentivize risky play. If anything it just encourages you to grind before bosses to cap the current exp bar and save/store/spend sen by spending 10 minutes fucking around elsewhere until you're ready so that you have nothing to lose. I feel like it should have done some world state changes and something more intense, like ACTUALLY having npcs die and having a healthier world state and an unhealthier world state where some enemies get weaker or stronger based on which extreme your world is on etc. etc. basically ANYTHING more than it is now. But this is super minor relative to how good everything else is. It just felt underwhelming considering all it was hyped up to be. It’s one of those things I just ignore as if it wasn’t there and it’s just as good because it has little effect on the parts that I DO like the game for.

 ---FINAL NOTE---

- To end on a positive note though, Sekiro managed to be a game that iterated on the Souls formula by defying part of what it became (dodge heavy, block averse play, slow, parrying primarily for one-shotting) yet still providing the same feelings of starting one of those games fresh. Part of what makes it FEEL Souls-y is precisely what separates it from those games, and it's all too good to really put into words at the moment. Like sure it's got Estus, bonfires, and a kick-your-ass "you're going to get stuck and frustrated and that's how it is" attitude and it's got a similar enough control scheme, but beyond that, there's just so much more combat and movement depth that it's a whole new beast, and I love it so much.

Something Fucky - Steter Week

~It’s day 6! I went with time travel! I almost didn’t get this done because I got writers block halfway through and had no idea how to end it! I hope you still like it though.

Stiles grumbled as he walked alone through the silent forest. It wasn't supposed to be silent. He wasn't supposed to be alone. But, for some magical bullshit reason, they were.

He kicked at a rock, sending it flying away with a satisfying noise.

He and the pack had been fighting a witch. Like, three minutes ago. It shouldn't be silent.

It had just been one witch, and she had only been sacrificing three animals every week, so they finally gave into Scott's plan of trying to talk to her.

Talking turned into fighting surprisingly quickly, but also not at all. He shouldn't be alone.

As soon as the witch laid eyes upon Stiles, she had begun her villain monologue. Turns out she had killed her last coven of witches to gain more power and was now looking to recruit some powerful magic users. Forcefully. She was not against using date rape drug magic.

It sounded a little too much like Deucalion for any of the pack to be comfortable letting her go. So, despite Scott's shouting, they fought the witch.

Why was it so silent?

The witch wasn't lying when she said she had gained the strength of her dead coven. They had fought witches before and they were often easy to deal with (assuming no one was cursed or poisoned), but this witch wasn't backing down at all.

Stiles had stepped up, cast a paralysing spell at the same time the witch cast a spell of her own. The last thing he remembered after that was flashing lights, then he was waking up on the forest floor.

Why was he alone?

He reached a clearing, still kicking a rock in front of him as he grumbled about witches and stupid fucking puppies and did they seriously deal with the witch and abandon him?

He looked up to take in his surroundings and froze.

That was the Hale house.

Not a burnt husk but the actual fucking Hale house from before the fire. It had a roof and everything.

"Oh, God," he groaned, burying his face in his hands. "Fucking witch, what did she do?"

Any werewolf in the house was probably already aware that he was standing there. And would possibly be helpful in getting him back to where he was supposed to be.

If they believed him, at least.

So, letting out a very exhausted sigh, he walked up to the front door and knocked.

A few moments later the door swung open to reveal a young man, probably sixteen, with dark hair and some of the grumpiest eyebrows he had ever seen. Second only to Derek. Which meant,

"You're Derek, right?"

The kid glared and asked, "What do you want?"

"I'm, uh," what did he want? "I'm looking for the alpha of the territory, which I presume is Talia?"

The kid's eyebrows shot up and his body tensed. For a moment he looked like he wasn't going to do anything, but then he was nodding and walking back into the house. Stiles figured he was probably supposed to follow.

It was almost surreal, no, it was very surreal to walk through the house. He almost expected to look into a room and see the usual charred nothingness, to look up and see blue sky, but no. The place was perfectly fine, and normal, and pretty fucking nice. Just expensive enough to be elegant and charming, but not too expensive looking to be posh and make him even more uncomfortable.

Young Derek, still broody and grumpy—now because of teen angst rather than guilt and grief—led Stiles up the stairs and to the right. He knocked on a door and, once a 'come in' sounded, opened it. He left before Stiles could walk in, probably off to write angsty poetry or whatever the kids did these days. Or back then.

Shaking his head, Stiles got his thoughts back on track and entered the study looking room.

"Alpha Talia Hale?" he asked, tilting his head to the side as both a show of curiosity and submissiveness.

"Yes, and who are you? How do you know Derek, but he doesn't know you?" The woman, Talia, was beautiful in the same way as Derek. Dark hair that framed her face, gorgeous eyes—even when they flared supernatural colours (or especially when), an intimidating amount of muscle and a raised eyebrow.

He took all of this in within a second and replied quickly, "My name's Stiles. I'll explain how I know Derek after I tell you why I'm here."

It was times like these that made him thankful his legal name was such a mess that he could use his name and not worry about anyone searching him up and finding something. He didn’t know if this was just a back in time thing, or if it was dimensional too, so he had no way of knowing if his dad was in Beacon or not. Possibly even a little him running about, too.

"Yes, why are you here?" Talia asked, raising an eyebrow. It made him wonder how many generations of Hale carried the eyebrow language trait.

"Well, the explanation for that is a bit weird and you're probably not gonna believe me but," he paused to take a steadying breath before continuing, "I come from like twelve years in the future."

Talia stared. Stared a little longer. Used a bit more eyebrow language to convey she thought he was crazy. "You expect me to believe you're from the future?"

"Is there anything I can do to help you believe?" he asked. "I know who your emissary is, if that might help? Maybe he can do some tests, too!"

"You know who my emissary is?" So much eyebrow was happening. "Please, do tell."

"It's Alan Deaton. Or at least it should be, I'm not really sure if any dimensional travelling has happened or if it's just time travel." His hands were flying everywhere.

The eyebrow language paused as Talia pinched the bridge of her nose. "Okay, so you know a well-guarded secret of ours. How nice. Yes, we best go see Deaton to try and prove your theory."

Stiles grinned, success! "Oh, also," he wasn't going to mention it, but thought it might be fun and also didn't have any brain-to-mouth filter, "is Peter listening in on our conversation from behind the door?"

Talia just heaved a sigh in response.

Talia was driving, her husband as right hand in shotgun, Peter as left hand behind him and Stiles as person of interest behind Talia. It wasn't ideal but, really, nothing about the situation was ideal. At least no one had to sit in the middle.

"So, if you've lived in Beacon your whole life, does that mean there's a younger version of you currently running about? What happens if you meet him?" Peter asked, body turned towards Stiles as much as possible without taking off the seatbelt.

"If this isn't some alternate universe where I don't exist then yes. And I don't wanna know," Stiles said, frowning at all the ideas of how terribly that could go.

"How old are you?"

"How old are you?" Stiles countered, raising an eyebrow that rivalled a Hale's.

"That is a really childish way to avoid a question."

"In about seven years I'm gonna ask you the same question and your answer is going to be even more childish than mine, dude." No, Stiles wasn't still frustrated by Peter's vague answer. How could anyone possibly entertain the idea?

Peter looked surprisingly offended by the response, "Are you holding what future me does against me?"

"Yes, yes, I am. It's what future you deserves." Stiles nodded to himself.

Peter looked like he was going to refute that, but paused, squinted at Stiles, then asked, "How exactly did you travel through time?"

"I'm honestly not too sure," he said with a scrunched nose, "I was fighting this witch in the preserve with my pack and we casted spells at the same time. Next thing I know I'm waking up, sans pack, and the Hale- and Derek's fucking sixteen again."

Almost blurting out the fact that the Hale house is a burnt husk in his time? Not a good idea.

"So, what, your spells interacted weirdly, and it sent you back?"

"Yeah, that's the best I've got so far. It's also possible we were too close to the Nemeton and it decided to do something fucky." Stiles shrugged.

They continued on like that for the rest of the car ride, bickering and asking questions, trying to annoy Talia so much that she cracked. Even once Deaton had confirmed Stiles' story and started on preparing a ritual to get Stiles back to his own time, he and Peter were constantly talking.

By the time Deaton was done and had gotten him back to his own time, he was a lot more enlightened on how the Hales used to be, and Peter was a little bit in love.

He wouldn't remember it though.

It was strange. Almost as if he had met the boy before, but the memory was just out of reach, his fingertips just brushing the image.

He recognised the scent. It was different, less ozone and the crackling of magic and power, definitely different emotions splicing through. It was the same though, a tang of medication settled underneath fresh baked cookies and old books and stress.

The boy looked different too. Even though he couldn't remember what he was supposed to look like, he just looked different. Like he wasn't quite there yet.

Then it clicked.

"You must be Stiles."

🍀: My fave thing about being LGBT? It’s nice to feel comfortable in your own skin by expressing it and be with people who can support you as they can relate with what you are, with your struggles and feelings. I never have had much connection with something that I identified as; like I’m of Polish descent, I think it’s pretty cool and I think Polish culture is fascinating to learn about but I never had the opportunity to celebrate being it, you know? No one in the family has strong ethnic pride and was treated as NOT A BIG DEAL and as much as I wanted to get in touch with it, I guess it didn’t come so easily because I’d be the only one who wanted to truly feel like it’s something to celebrate. But maybe one of these days, I can make some traditional Polish dishes. :-)

But despite that, I can definitely celebrate being queer as I feel that it’s a core part of my identity. It’s easier for me to feel like I belong with it.

🐻: My favorite animal? Ooh. Birds are probably my first pick, but I also like dogs, bears, rays, and fireflies!

TL;DR: Pansexual, cisfemale.

I got it in my bio but I’m pretty well associated with being pansexual (because I acknowledge that there’s more than just the two kinds of men and women, and someone’s identity alone is not a nagging factor for my attraction and connection to them like it does with some other people. I usually describe my identity as:

“I like what I like”-sexual. It’s by far the easiest summary of explaining how I am to people. But GOD, IT IS FRUSTRATING SOMETIMES, because people always follow up with questions like “Does this mean that you’re open to fuck anything? Like animals, children, inanimate objects, and *insert transphobic comment here*?” I FUCKING HATE THAT SHIT. JUST BECAUSE I’M NOT AS ONE-TRACK-MINDED WITH SEXUAL ATTRACTION LIKE YOU ARE DOESN’T MEAN I DON’T HAVE A STEADY MORAL COMPASS WHO UNDERSTANDS AND HAS CORE PRINCIPLES ABOUT THE IMPLICATIONS, LEGALLY, MORALLY, AND HEALTH WISE, ABOUT GETTING OFF TO EVERYTHING. There’s better alternatives to having orgasms that isn’t illegal and/or jeopardizing the health and well-being of others. 

Goddamn, I’m not even that crazy about sex, anyway. I’ve had a weird history with it, because I haven’t had it in the way people normally do. Besides, It’s not like I can’t just fucking get off myself when I need to. Oh wait, yes, I can!

But the problem with the label is that some people have different definitions in their head with what it is; some think that the label was made up just for “progressivism points”, a “trendier version of bisexuality”, etc. And conversely, people who do support it think that it means that you’re attracted to “(cis)men, (cis)women, gender nonconforming people, and trans people” (which puts trans people into a different category than cis people in this context, which, to me, implicates that you don’t 100% believe in who they say that they are, and it contradicts prior statements about being supportive because you’re invalidating who they say that they are by doing that. So I don’t like that definition of pansexuality, seems like it’s taking one step back in that sense, you know what I mean? That’s my opinion, anyway.

But then again, people has always had an issue with orientations outside of heterosexuality. So when people just write it off as “fake” or “delusional”, I can’t really agree with them because they sound like they’re recycling the things that have always been said about LGBT+.

Like fuck, dude. There’s some labels on here that I don’t even understand myself. I won’t deny that there are some eccentrics on here who seem to really wanna be different just for the sake of being different, you know? Yeah, NGL, I’ve made a little fun of how incredulous some of these Tumblr biographies are, but I’m not gonna go out of my way to point it out to them. Ultimately, I cannot control how they feel about their identity and they are the only ones who can truly figure out who they are, and if they’re not being disgusting demons or obnoxious assholes about it, I normally don’t bat an eye at them. Just close the page and continue my daily scrolling of content. I don’t have to understand or even be a part of all the nuances of a concept like sexual orientation just to support them or at least, be indifferent to it. 

I realize that there’s people in my life who don’t understand the concept of being pan, so I describe it my sexuality like it’s an ice cream bar, which seems to help them understand me and others better:

Out of all the selections to pick from, some like one popular flavor and stick with that one their whole lives. Some like a different popular flavor and stick with that their whole lives. Some like to go with both flavors, some like more than two. Some are lactose intolerant, and prefer a flavor or two without the dairy.

Me? It’s whatever I’m in the mood for. I’m a pretty consistent person but occasionally, something comes along that I might really wanna try because I feel like I might like it.

I know that this can construed as “experimental”, and to an extent, it is because I don’t have much sexual history to be able to ascertain if a pair of gentials on someone does it for me but? I deep down feel more indifferent to it than others. Like, if I feel attraction and chemistry happen with  someone, I know that those feelings will override what they identify as; orientation and sex/gender wise. I can say that with confidence. 

But I also say that I’m queer (or “pretty fuckin’ queer), because the definition of the sexual orientation seems to not have a clear-cut idea of what it is (like being gay or straight does). I do acknowledge that some people in the community do not like using the word because its history of being a slur, and really, that’s their prerogative whether or not they choose to acknowledge as either a slur, an umbrella term of an unconventional identity (which is something I use for my orientation as the word applies to either orientation or gender identity, it doesn’t have to be both to be applicable), another innocuous word for "not heterosexual”, and use it how they say fit. I’m still gonna use the word and use it in a positive or neutral context for myself. And yeah, even my confidence of the label I continue to choose to use still makes me doubt sometimes if that’s what I really am, but I sure as hell am not gonna let others tell me that I don’t really know what I feel as if they know me better than I do with myself. Fuck that.
