Batman beyond review + thoughts

I been around two months sense I watch batman beyond for the first time ever and I can definitely say that I loved every minute of it. I love it so much I can say it my favorite dcau show. Hek my favorite dc cartoon ever. I could be because I'm biased cause I watch batman beyond before I watch batman the animated series and justice league and justice league unlimited.

For some backstory. batman the animated series and most dcau shows where way before my time. So I never grew up with the dcau. Didn't mean I never wanted dc related content growing up. I did wash teen titans with it was rerunning or boomerang ( thank to that show I was introduced to Robin way before I was introduced to Batman. ) I did wash one lago batman special ( of was it lego justice league) and I'm pretty sure I was the batman and Robin movie ( the one with poison ivy in it) I know I didn't see the early dcu movies. ( I watch more dc content then I thought)

This is to say I was mostly going to batman beyond blind. ( It Fair to pont out that I did watch the first season of Superman the animated series before I washed batman beyond.)

To give a brief summary of the show ( more like the first two episodes titled rebirth.) It starts with the news explaining how Bruce Wayne avoided a hail take over by daric powers. It then cut off to a werehouce were a girl it taken hostage. We then are introduced to a old Bruce Wayne in a new high tech suite. Bruce is doing his usual batman things, Hitting and noking gonds out. But during the fight his heart gives out and he's getting be up by a guy with ( not a crowbars) very long wrench. He thin points a gun at the guy. After that he decided to retire off being batman. 20 years later young Terry mcginnis goes partying with his girlfriend Dana after arguing with his dad . A gang of jokerz show up and cause havoc. Terry trys to fight them. The jokerz then Chase him all the way to Wayne maner. Thats how me meet Bruce and together they fight off the jokerz. But the fight but to much stress on Bruces heart so Terry help him into the manner and get his medicine. Terry then discovereds the bat cave and put to and to together. Bruce Kiks Terry out.

Terry comes home and find out to his dad murder my " supposingly " by jokerz. Whell movie back with his mom he finds a disk for a nerve gas that might be related to his dad murder. He goes to Bruce to see if he can do something. He tells Terry he can't so he posts Terry to Barbara Gordon ( I don't know if I spelled her last name right. Who is now the commissioner.) On his way he loses the evidence to Derek powers ( the CEO of Wayne powers. who ordered Terrys father murder) Terry then decided to steal the bat suit. He gets to Wayne powers and hear Derek confessing about the nerve gas wall trying to sell it on the black market. After having a confrontion with Bruce Terry stop the gas going on a transport hitting powers with the nerve gas ( giveing his organs as blight.) Get revenge on the man that killed his father ( Mr. Fix ) the next day Bruce offered Terry the job as the new batman. ( go watch the episodes if you can. I did skip over some things. But every minute of it is cool and I can't do it justice.)

the show is just really easy to get in to. Even going in blind I could tell what going on. I think it it partly be cause we are induced to a whole new world in neo- Gotham The city it self has a great retro cyberpunk aesthetic. Every building staking over the other. The background of this show is just really great. They even have their own slang in this show like, twip, dreg, slag, and the most famous one schway. I think it's something that the show doesn't get enough reconciliation for. They even have there own currency to. The way people dress in this show is also something to know by looking at the characters and background characters. There's a lot of people wearing black , squares, rectangle, stripes ( as seen on Terry jacket and pants) and layers. I could just go on about the world building in this show.

The music in this show is also a banger. Like the into for the show. It immediately tells you all your want about the show with it collage with awesome futuristic rock music. It my favorite opening in all off the Dcau. The least best the Superman the animated series opening. The rest of the soundtrack is also in this futuristic rock and it's goes HARD with every single one of them. Especially the fight scene. I don't know about you but when I think of fight scene, I think of rock and Wich is why prepare the music here over the usual orchestraic music in batman the animated series, Superman the animated series and justice league.( I haven't seen static shock, but I hear that the music is good there to.) Which is why I was happy when I heard rock in the background in Jlu ( even though I seen only the first two episodes.) Not that the orchestraic music was bad I did like some of them and it went with what they were going for. I just prefer rock over anything. The show does have its emotional music and they did a really good job.

They dynamic between Bruce and Terry ( and Ace too to an extent) is everything to me. With Bruce being to the equivalent earl for up with more angst and Terry being a trouble angstly teen. Also Ace being the bestest of boys. It's subtle but you can tell that they grow to cear about one an other like in shown in the episodes Shrek , sneak peak, bable, Ace in the whole, the return of the joker movie, out of the past and probably more. I think they did the passing of the mantle very well. Better them most media. They don't put Bruce down to being Terry up and vice versa. Bruce and Terry learned something from each other. ( it's a good time to pont out I do know the big spoiler for epilogue. Have seen it yet don't know how to feel. I don't like Terry design in it though.)

Both he and Bruce different backgrounds. With Bruce being of high class and Terry being the off the middle class. Also with Terry criminal record. I like that Terry and Bruce personally are also different that bounce well with each other. With Terry being angry and brash while Bruce is calm and collected.

Speak of Terry I think he's a good character. A former juvenal delinquent who mix in with the Wrong crowd and went to jive for it. With also the guilt of his fathers death. That because batman to atone for his bast wrongs. That a pretty interesting character. I like that Terry is the complete opposite of Bruce and somehow similar. Terry unlike Bruce has a social life with a girlfriend and friends. He likes to go out a hang out with his loved ones. Wether it's his girlfriend Dana, his friends or his family. He has to try to balance this plus his schooling with his duties as the new dark knight. Unlike like Bruce Terry has a family life. Even though he still lost his father he still has his mom a little brother. Who he will go above a and beyond for them as shown in the episodes bloodspots when his little brother was kidnapped. Over all he has a support system.

He also a different kind of batman then Bruce. Apart from the high-tech suit. Which it awesome by the way with the ability to fly. He's sarcastic and like to talk to his villains Like in return of the joker. He has a different fight style than Bruce. Being some what similar to Nightwings ( in this show continuity. I think ) while also being a heavy hitter and can and well fight dirty when given the chance. Give that hes history in used to being in a gang. I also appreciate that after Terry got revenge on the people who murdered his father, he still continues being batman cause it helps him correct his past sins and in his words " it's makes me feel like a decent human being again."

Terry over all character designs is also really cool. With his jacket and pants with square is just so cool. Giving him the punk drip. ( or as I been told the Jason Todd drip.)

Bruce in this show is also an interesting character. Even when I first watched the show and haven't watched the animated series or justice league/ unlimited, even with some previous knowledge of him and the bat family. I could tell that Bruce was a really sad character. In the first few minutes of the first episode when he retire from being bat man you feel bad for him. He's all a lone in that dark mansion on the hill with people he new either probably dead or want nothing to do with him. This is especially evident with the bat family in this continuity and is great in return of the joker. With the only company he his is a dog he found on the street of crime Ally ( ace is also good in this show too and the best of boys) and soon trouble kid that almost ran him over.

The reason why I say that despite their differences their somehow similar. Is Take their tragedy and making it into something more and try to make the world and it's people a better place than they found it. An good example of is for Bruce the baby doll episode in the animated series and for Terry the meltdown episode with Mr freeze. ( there probably more but I'm stinking with these)

Batman beyond rogue gallery is also really cool and terrifying. With most of them being original. Thought some say that the villain are the weakest of the show and aren't memorable. Wich yes criticism is valid but it's something I disagree with on some levels but I'll like to do a separate post about them and more explain my thoughts there so moving on.

The return of the joker movie is awesome and deserves it own posts.

Thought a critique that I have for the show is that we really don't see Terry when he was running with gangs. We hear about it though dialogue between characters about Terry record and especiallyin the episodes big time. But we don't get a flash back or nothing. It does have other problems like Dana ( Terry loves interest and girlfriend) not being that developed. Not that she's a bad character or her and Terry don't have chemistry as a couple. (They do and I like that.) I mean in the show she is reasonably mad a Terry for ditching on their date. She even tries to understand why he works so late.comes to the concussion that Terry sees Bruce as a father figure. Is just that we really don't see her as a for front of an episode( to the level that max was) . We don't know how her and Terry met and how they started dating. ( Wich I have a headCanon about.) We get a glimpse of her family life in the episodes Rats. I do really like Dana I just wish we got to see more of her and Terry's relationship.

Over all I really love this show. It's unique with iterating characters and word building. Yes it has some problems here and there. But it great and a unique experience.( And yes it is my current hyper fixation)

But seriously it's a good idea good x-ray him and we need to document and we actually have to get that done so and he knows doesn't want to go to the hospital and we don't want him there there's reasons to get x-rayed other than the airport and we have one from the courthouse when he went it's kind of mild but it does show exactly what it is brain and they're after it they say and we're going to kill them all and that's another reason to do it and it's one reason why they don't want it and John remillard is going to get blamed for the skin and it's very clear. It looks fine there's no damage actually looks pristine and it's decent sized and yeah it feels this whole head it looks like his helmet it's just so weird and he's got nothing extra or nothing left out he has a sinus infection and it came up a little but not much and it's always there and just brain activity seems to be normal we can kind of tell the electrical current a minor amount of activity because of the stress other than that is fine the rest of his body looks normal. And he wants to get on Mac Daddy's we want to get on this and he says he wants to and it's motivation and they have the deep skin tube you stand in and that's if they suspect something they've been planted on you or you have metal in you and need to know about all that stuff and our son looks kind of really beefy so he's laughing cuz it's usually have the assholes do it and they have to reset the thing it's not easy to scan and it comes out funny so I think they can capture him using it

The Metropolis

SCENE 1

Lo is standing by a Superman statue and/or Superman mural looking around at the surrounding town. Actors and even dogs in Superman costumes can walk through the scene to start the show if extras are available. She has a camera and takes random pictures from weird angles. Kent is about the only person not wearing something related to Superman and has been watching Lo. When she sits at a bench near the statue, she appears sad and stressed. Kent moves in.

Kent: Can I help you? You look a bit lost.

Lo: Is this Metropolis?

Kent: The one and only.

Lois: I imagined something much bigger.

Kent: Everyone does.

Lois: Looks more like Smallville.

Kent: Superman fan?

Lo: Not really.

Kent: That is a first. I bet you are the first person to visit this town who isn't a fan.

Lo: No other reason to come here?

Kent: Nope.

Lo: So is Superman really from here?

Kent: So they say... Never met him.. Well maybe I have.. Met a lot of guys dressed like him... But none of them raced bullets or trains. And nobody flew here. We don't have an airport.

Lo: Huh? Oh... Joke. (Does a courtesy laugh but it's not convincing)

Kent: My name's Kent by the way.

Lo: Kent? As in Clark Kent?

Kent: If you are a male and born in this town, there is a good chance you're named Clark or Kent.

Lo: Oh dear... That has to be weird in school.

Kent: Kal is gaining in popularity though.

Lo: Kal?

Kent: For Kal-El... Superman's real name.

Lo: Is it required in this town to know all Superman facts or are you just a nerd?

Kent: You can't help know this stuff here.. It's everywhere... Menu items, street names, constant puns in the newspaper...

Lo: Annoying?

Kent: Not really... It's kind of nice to have something that makes our town unique. Something special to call our own... DC comics even made it official on January 21, 1972. (he notices she isn't really listening and smiles) Boring you?

Lo: Kind of.

Kent: Can I ask your name?

Lo: People call me Lo.

Kent: Lo? Short for Lois?

Lo: Nope... That would too weird... although better than my real name... Lola.

Kent: It's a nice name.

Lo: If you say so.

Kent: So you're ok then? Need directions or anything?

Lo: This is where is I going.

Kent: But you're not a fan?

Lo: You bug all the tourists like this?

Kent: That's what we do in Metropolis... Bug tourists... Have to make sure that you're not some villain in disguise out to get Superman... (Lo looks away annoyed) Still not funny... I can take a hint... Have a good visit. (he slowly goes hoping she will stop him)

Lo: Sorry... I didn't mean to be a pain.

(Kent returns happily)

Kent: You've been traveling... That makes people tired. I understand.

Lo: I feel like an idiot.

Kent: Why? A lot of people think Metropolis should be bigger... In fact our founding fathers thought our town would be a city one day being situated on a major river near the junction of four states...

Lo: Enough history okay?

Kent: Sorry... got it... Back to you... Where were we?

Lo: Idiot.

Kent: That's right. I'm listening.

Lo: Thanks.

Kent: Anytime... So why you feeling bad?

Lo: I came here because of a dream.

Kent: Really?

Lo: I had this dream about Metropolis... It was more like a city but this statue... It's exactly the same.

Kent: You ever see pictures?

Lo: Never.

Kent: Wild... So why come see it?

Lo: Because of something that happened in my dream... Something that happened at this statue that was pretty wonderful. Something I'd really like more than anything.

Kent: What?

Lo: It will sound dumb.

Kent: Go ahead. You can tell me.

Lo: I fell in love.

Kent: Really? Under a Superman statue?

Lo: Under this statue.

Kent: You get a good look at the guy?

Lo: He had on a superman shirt.

Kent: Plenty of those around here.. I have one... Didn't wear it today though... I can go put it on.

Lo: Slow down there, Flash... I don't think you're the guy.

Kent: Oh...

Lo: It can't be the first guy I run in to... That's too lucky... Sorry to hurt your feelings but I don't feel it. The chemistry. The dream had a whole lot of chemistry. And an explosion. (she gets lost in thought)

Kent: No worries. Maybe I can help. Tell me more about the dream. Maybe I know the guy.

Lo: Not much more that I remember. Oh wait. He had on glasses too.

Kent: Glasses and Superman shirt. Anything else?

Lo: The other thing about the dream that was really odd was that I felt the urge to cash in my life savings too... Something told me I'd need it for this trip.

Kent: Your entire life savings. Is there... in your purse?

Lo: Everything I have is right here.

(They are quiet a minute. Kent is looking at her and she looks away shyly. Suddenly Kent grabs the purse and runs. Lo jumps up in shock)

Lo (cont.): Hey! Wait a minute! Wh... what?! No! This isn't right! I come to your stupid town and the first thing that happens is that I'm mugged? First guy I meet and he's a con man. Kent the con man. Ah! Why am I so stupid? Don't talk to strangers. (Yells at statue) Isn't that what you teach this kids, Superman? Well, I blew it. Blabbed to some random dude and he mugs me. Why did I follow a dream? I am an idiot. A stupid, dumb bubblehead.

(she plops down on a bench)

I'm always a victim. There's not enough heroes in this world. Not enough Supermans. Sure, there's bunches of you parading around in costumes, but there's not many real men of steel. Not any willing to take a bullet for me.

(she jumps up again)

And you know what?! My life savings was 50 bucks! How's that for irony? And my credit cards are maxed out! Ha! Jokes on you!

(plops down on bench again)

I just want my lucky key chain back.

(Simon, a guy in glasses and a zip up jacket, enters with her purse)

Simon: Is this your purse?

(Lo is so stunned she doesn't know what to say)

Simon: I didn't mean to go through your purse but I needed to find an ID or something. I found your driver's license. It looks a bit like you... but you're... you're prettier in person.

Lo: Thank you!

(she runs up and hugs him)

Simon: Tough day?

(she lets go of him and nods)

Lo: Very... how did you find it?

Simon: I tripped the guy who was running away with it.

Lo: You did?

Simon: Kind of an accident. I'm a bit of a klutz. But I wouldn't give it back once I got it. I've known Kent for a long time and when you see him at a purse, you know he's not headed to a superhero cross-dressing competition.

(Lo laughs)

Simon (cont.): You have a nice laugh.

Lo: I hate my laugh. I snort.

Simon: It's cute.

Lo: So, you from around here?

Simon: Kind of. I work at the SuperMuseum. I wasn't born here but I lived here for a while. I stumbled on this little town and fell in love with it. I kept coming back until I didn't leave again.

Lo: Something just kind of drew you here.

Simon: Give me Metropolis over Chicago any day.

Lo: Chicago sucks.

Simon: And blows.

(They laugh)

Simon (cont.): Want me to show you around?

Lo: Sure. I'd like that.

(She takes his arm)

Simon: We'll do the walking tour. I left my cape at home.

Lo: You wouldn't happen to have on a Superman t-shirt would you?

(He unzips his jacket and shows her)

Simon: I do. Why?

Lo: No reason.

(She has a big smile, takes his arm again and they exit happily ever after)

Godzilla Muto and Muto

Absorbed tons of radiation from Hawaii's nukes going off on the surface and nukes being tossed at thrm

Huge ones devistated your island as planned. Giant clouds of radiation wofted over the other islands and sank harmlessly into the sea.

Godzilla charged up to almost maximum came much larger and floated very quickly to San Francisco and only a matter of hours after eating she is of course pregnant and heading that way is it in the water and approaches the aircraft carrier at this time the one that you retrieved from off the coast of Japan that sunk during one of your recent asinine operations after it was retrieved off of Guam after 30 to 40 years under water from Vietnam conflict it is here and it may sink as Godzilla is scraping underneath it as we speak they may be calling for help several of their bulkheads have given away they are taking on water they may lose lives may lose hardware

It is a matter of having a huge navy or very small one and tons of privateers

giant massive ships are gone after trying tons and tons of fast ships and sail boats and pleasure craft and private submarines and submarines millions and millions of those are gone from last year and attempts up to this point billions and billions of ships recently tried going and we didn't mention it recently took them all and use them on the rest there are several attacks from the last large when mentioned none of you make it anywhere and yet you seem to have ho and you seem to have encouragement even on top of it do the reasons that we don't understand in that we see why that doesn't make any sense so we let you all the way meant then we grab you and you're very surprised each and every time

Godzilla is in your harbor your San Francisco Bay at the bridge there are very many usn ships that have gathered and are headed that way several are there already and are completely spooked by her size as she is visible because she used up the charge floating over and she is scaly and she is very scary looking and mean just like he says see the Xenomorph look they look very mean

An extremely hostile to you and you take it as if they are a nephew or niece that is out of control in your house and we find that your tongue in your mouth get you into so much trouble with them the e right away and don't save you for Intel which is a no no so we have a way of judging them out or forcing it and you don't see us but they understand they have to move thank you very much for your idiotic behavior it helped us gain control Godzilla will tear up your city because she is looking for a place to nest and she is looking for newts and can sense them she sees the ones that are laying out for her and we'll look at them closely and examine them and try and set them off if you want to because your morons she will devastate the city because your nukes are hidden and shielded and I will take your time to find them the noise & racquet will attract Muto who has acute hearing and sensing and can fly there in minutes should be attracted because it means chaos it means food or nukes it means action which means food and nukes and we'll come and look and find Godzilla thrashing the place and will join in trying to find what she's looking for first making some Easter egg hunt her husband of course we'll find her because he keeps track of her and is a jealous man even though he's smaller than her it makes it worse and we have a winner he's smiling supermodel

Godzilla is the harbor and she has found the news and it's time to them with her massive size and her evil eyes and bad breath she is so real low growls at them they behave as if she's not there she pushed the boat around with so much ease that it terrifies them so they talk to her she comes at them and they start to drive away she's so fast the kid escape the decide to arm it and dive over that's what she was waiting for she sits and waits bang goes off it's huge 10 to 20 megatons she takes it full on and is fine

She has huge already and grows inches and feet front of you.

She has no idea why people are screaming and yelling only that it makes her excited and she starts yelling too and it's kind of comical because it looks like Mewtwo in Las Vegas are huge crowd going screaming and she screams back and it sounds very ferocious so they scream louder so she screams back and it's like that and I keep doing it refused to run off so she comes over to see why they're doing that is scream even louder so she screams even louder and now it's a contest so she's screaming massively loud at them suddenly someone gets on loudspeaker and so you people shut up and dispersed he's going to eat you you're just making her loud or angry so they look over and say screw you and start saying this to her you shut up now and go lay down and go to bed so Godzilla gets up and says where you say and she smiles a little and starts to eat them I'm going to say bad Godzilla and then the guy on the microphone says it bad Godzilla go lay down of course he goes over and crushes the microphone every laugh because it's exactly what I could Japanese movie except you're Americans doing stupid things that you see the Japanese doing and their movies and ridiculous things that don't work and everything what you do live anyways and he's laughing his ass off Kingsley Kingsley that's not Kingsley at all the Zerg to look more like Kingsley than Godzilla

We agree it is some real f***** s*** so Godzilla looks around and finds the source of the noise and disconnects it it's a loudspeaker meant to draw her over so she scans and she sees a trap things for a 4-foot to get stuck with and those people gave their lives up to draw her there and she says it's because I'm in the field and I'm fighting and he says I know they're always trying to get me there mess everything else or to help but inappropriate just says what a terrific to you you have they're not my team is going to hell so she removes the trap and she whips at at them turns out to be explosives and those living crap out of the entire crowd so he has to go find other nuclear weapons and food and she's off that was a little party for her and she had fun and it was a good time the trap was small but a big enough for her to fall in

She is now rampaging through the city like she did in DC running very fast back and forth as Kingsley did on the lawn but she is talk later buildings over that are very tall compared to a human there are hundreds of times the height or more she knocks them down like dominoes play fall away from her as she does that on purpose there are several things she needs and wants and we'll have she came all this way and she does every year as a lizard does and it's to scale for her the islands are teeny and she needs more of what she finds

Godzilla has moved to the major downtown area where all the skyscrapers are which are two to three times as tall as she is and she is at least 8 or 900 ft tall they dwarf her that's why she needs the nuclear material and food crowds are gathering mostly military and the military has brought nuclear weapons a nice snack and hors d'oeuvre for her to begin growing they fire she absorbs it it's a lot of them they fire again she absorbs it again she's going after them signs of stress eating them and grabs huge huge handfuls and eats a whole handful without even thinking about bombs or hand grenades because they're too small
