Y/N LAY HER hand resting at the door's doorknob as the doorbell echoed thru the almost empty area.
Before, it was very cheerful despite him being alive, her husband, Amemiya Gorou.
Y/n sighed and shook her head and tried to think positive thoughts for herself and her daughter before opening the door, planting a small smile, and greeting her daughter.
" Alisha, sweetie. How's school? " Y/n greeted her daughter leaving a kiss on her forehead and noticing someone next to her. " Oh! You bought someone, you should've told me so I could prepare someth— "
" Mom...mom, calm down. " Alisha, her daughter mentioned, grabbing her hands and caressing them smiling a bit. " It's alright, I don't want to bother you that much especially if it's dad's... "
Alisha paused trailing her eyes sight somewhere else making her mom laugh a bit.
" Fine fine. " Y/n said smiling a bit and backed up letting them enter. " You guys seat and I'll just prepare something simple so my dear daughter won't be worried. "
The aquamarine starry eyes trailed to the adult's movements who was rather examining her every move.
" Sorry about that, Aqua-kun! " Alisha suddenly spoke. " My mother is rather emotional these days but I swear she's the best mother you can ever ask for. "
" I don't mind. "Aquamarine replied, avoiding gaze. " I understand, like really. "
Alisha smiled at him and when she was about to speak her mother appeared again with just hot chocolate and some cookies.
" I hope you guys like it. " Y/n said, seating next to her daughter.
" Uh well, this is my husband's favorite tho. " She added slightly scratching her head.
Alisha sighed and hugged her mom, " It's fine mom, I know dad loves you so much and he'll drink that somewhere. "
" I know and he loves you too. "
" Oh, right! " Alisha mentioned and pointed at Aqua. " This is Aqua Hoshino, a friend. "
" Hello. It's a pleasure to meet you. " Y/n said smiling a bit but Aqua stayed quiet looking at the cup of hot chocolate in his hand, trying his best to keep his posture.
" Aqua-kun...? " Alisha called out making Aqua raise his head and gave them a small smile.
" Uh, yes. Nice to meet you, Ma'am... " Aqua greeted in a slightly confused tone trailing his eyesight to the cookies and back to the hot chocolate.
" Oh, pardon me. I'm Y/n. " She introduced with a slight smile. " Amemiya Y/n. "

The room was dark and silent. The lights of Las Vegas glowed behind the windows. Your body shook as beads of sweat fell off your face. Your chest heeded as you breathed heavily. Your hand went limp and the piece of metal fell onto the floor with a clank! You took a step back and watched as blood poured onto the floor. You felt as if you were in a movie, and this was all fake.
You heard the jiggle of a doorknob and immediately turned your head towards the sound. You stood like a deer in headlights unable to move. You were about to get caught. This was the end of your life. You were about to get thrown in jail to rot forever.
The door creaked open and the appearance of your boyfriend. You stood in fear as Elvis met your eyes. Confused, he made his way over to you after he closed the door. He came to a pause when he saw the scene in front of him. The body of his manager was lifeless on the floor. He should be sad, but he felt happiness. He felt this weight get lifted off of him.
“Well, it’s ‘bout time,” Elvis claimed as he shut the door behind him. You stood there confused by his reaction. He stepped closer to you and moved around your body. He found his gun on the floor. There was no shot though, he would’ve heard it if so. Then again, all he heard was his band and the sounds of his fans screaming.
He reached down and held the metal piece in his hand. It was warm from your clench and covered with blood. He looked at the Colonel and noticed his disheveled face. You had beaten his face, but there was also a hole in his neck where blood seethed out. Had you actually shot the Colonel?
Elvis turned and looked at your perfect face. Your once-white dress had splatters of blood over it. His innocent good girl just killed someone. Your face was pale, and he knew you were scared. He wouldn’t let his girl get in trouble. No no, Elvis would make sure no one would know.
“I-I’m sorry,” you breathed out. Elvis shook his head. There was no reason why you should be sorry. The colonel was a bad man, and he needed to go. You hadn’t planned for things to happen like that… but they did.
It really all started when Elvis came back from the army. You didn’t know him personally at the time, but when you met him, you knew he wasn’t happy. You sat in your older brother’s office as he walked through the door. He stood tall and had this… handsome appearance to him. He was always handsome though.
It was all funny looking back at it. Your brother didn’t even like Elvis. He was more of an East Coast boy. He liked the sounds of the beach boys. Elvis didn’t even pass his mind, but the sound of meeting Elvis. That was what intrigued him.
“Mr. Elvis Presley,” Steve stood up from his seat. You stood up quickly with a smile.
“Please, just Elvis,” Elvis held his hand out to Steve, who gladly took it. The two shook hands and he looked over at you. He held a smile on his face and reached for your hand. You placed it in his and watched as he brought it to his lips and kissed it. You blushed lightly at the gesture and bit the inside of your cheek.
“Right, Elvis. It’s an honor to meet you.” Steve said as he sat down down. He picked up his pen and situated himself. Elvis sat on the other end and looked at the Binder siblings. He had a good feeling about this.
“Let me ask ya something, Steve. Where do you think my career is right now?” Elvis questioned. You looked over at Steve and nodded. You knew it was risky, to be honest, hell he could fire you both right there.
“Well, I think it’s in the toilet.” The room fell silent and you could only imagine how he felt. Then the sound of laughter came of out Elvis’ mouth. You smiled softly and stifled out a soft sound of laughter also.
“I knew I was gonna like ya. You’re honest with me,” Elvis admitted once his laughs calmed down to a slow. “I haven’ been on television for a long time.”
“It’s no different than filming a movie, sir.” You spoke as you stood up. “We will practice, and if you make a mistake that’s okay. We can start the film over. Delete those takes that don’t make it. This is your special, Elvis.”
“What’s ya name dalrin’?” He asked as his blue orbs stared deep past your own.
“Y/n,” You answered him.
“Well, I like the sound of that, Y/n. My special, no one elses.” He smirked as he tapped his finger against the table.
“We’ll give you what you want. She is right, this is your special.” Elvis smiled and nodded slowly.
The three of you were inseparable. Elvis took trusting to you two like it was nothing else. It was because you two could give him something the Colonel couldn’t. The Colonel didn’t care about anything. All he cared about was the money.
Didn’t allow anyone into Elvis’ dressing room. Yet, your brother and your brother pushed. He really pushed the Colonel’s buttons. Those who met the Colonel all had the same opinions. Sure, he could be sweet and pleasant, but he could also be harsh and rude. Lord knows you also don’t want to be on his bad side.
You guys would start in the afternoon and you would be there till early in the morning. There have been moments when Elvis would offer you to stay in his dressing room. Since, during the time of the comeback special, he slept in his dressing room. At first, you declined since you didn’t leave too far, but Elvis had such a charm to him.
“Come on, doll,” Elvis chuckled lightly, “it’ll be fun.”
“Oh please,” you rolled your eyes and laughed gently. “My apartment is just a half-hour walk.”
“Ain’ safe for you to be walking alone at night. Don’t need anything happening to ya now.” You let out a breath and just shook your head. A smile grew on your face and Elvis couldn’t help but smile as well.
“Fine fine, I’ll stay.” You laughed gently and walked with him. Not much happened in that room. You guys mostly just talked and shared a laugh. To you, he wasn’t the king of rock and roll. He… he was Elvis. It felt as if you guys have been friends for years.
If anyone came up to you and asked what Elvis was like… You would tell them he was the sweetest man ever. Sure, he had his outbursts but so did everyone. Elvis was a nice man, and he would do everything in his nature to make sure his friends and family were okay.
You couldn’t understand why the Colonel would treat him like a child. Elvis would be more than happy agreeing with his manager and treating them well. Yet, the Colonel abused him. Sometimes when you just stand in the background. You noticed his body language when he was alone… and when he was with the Colonel.
When he was with the Colonel he had this stiff expression. He was locked up in this gate, trapped under his watchful eye. When he was by himself, he held a depressed example. It was like he was lost in some aspects. Now, when he was with his friends and family… he was so happy. He smiled and he laughed a genuine laugh.
You remember your brother getting called down to the Colonel’s office. It was a sad piece really, one of the broom closets near stage four. The Colonel demanded for at least one Christmas song. Well, it was more he tried to tell Steve that Elvis wanted the Christmas song. Elvis stood next to him with his head down. It was like a young child who had just gotten in trouble with their parents.
“Fuck him,” Elvis spoke to Steve once they got out. Elvis hated the Colonel, but he couldn’t do anything. He was trapped. He was locked behind this wall of gratitude for everything Parker gave him. There was nothing more he could do.
You remember when everything was all finished, and you guys were ready to show the screening. The Binder siblings were pulled into a meeting with the Colonel. It was a room with a large table. The way that room smelled… It smelt like smoke and testosterone.
The Colonel wanted his one Christmas song. He wanted it to be at the end of the Special. Of course, your brother and you went a separate way. You thought you guys were screwed though, because… You could have gotten sued right there and then. Then you two remembered then Elvis did perform a song.
“Blue Christmas,” you said as you looked at Steve.
“That’s right, he did sing Blue Christmas,” Steve held a smirk. You could’ve sworn you saw the Colonel’s eye twitch at the response. That was not what he wanted to hear. The Colonel wanted a whole scene dedicated to Christmas.
The screening was the last day you all pretty much spent together. You remember sitting in the room next to Steve. Elvis’s Memphis Mafia was in the room and it was just silent the whole showing. You helped Elvis during the whole filing. Steve mostly stayed up in the booth, you were down on set.
You were at the stage, and neither you nor Steve knew what he was going to do, or what he was going to sing. You guys just allowed him to do whatever he wanted. He had his friends next to him, and it was just a jam session. You smiled the whole time watching him. Watching it in person, and then watching it on screen. Your smile was wide.
Being in the room watching the whole playback and finished product was scary. You were surrounded by his friends, and sometimes his friends scared you. It was just the look they held on his face. It’s like how when you look at a certain someone they have this type of face. At some moments, Elvis had the softest face, but he also had a very… I will kill you look.
Once his friends left, he turned and looked at us and asked to watch it again. It was a completely different experience when it was just you threw. Elvis laughed, and he smiled. To Steve and yourself, this was music to your ears. It can be painful to watch something you created, but how Elvis positively reacted to it… It showed that he loved it. That he was once again enjoying his life.
Once the recording finished for the special Elvis gave you and Steve his number. He left you with something more though. A simple, yet meaningful necklace. You denied it at first of course, but he kept pushing and pushing. That’s just who he was. He was a giver and he never took no as an answer.
“I uh… I got ya something.” Elvis spoke as he came up to you. You raised your eyebrow in confusion.
“Why did you get me something?” You asked him.
“Well, your brother and you helped me so much.” He admitted. You rolled your eyes playfully and took the navy blue velvet box in your hands.
“You honestly didn't need to do-” You opened up the box and the softest gasp left your mouth. “Oh my god.” You looked at the gold necklace that held both pearls and diamonds. You just started to shake your head. You couldn’t imagine how much money this costed.
“A pretty necklace for a pretty girl,” he commented. You shook just shook your head with an idiotic smile on your face.
“Can you help me put it on?” You asked as you picked the necklace. Elvis nodded and took it out of your hand. You closed up the box and turned your back to him. You grabbed a handful of your hair and moved it out of the way.
The necklace came around your front and Elvis clamped it in the back. His fingers grazed over your exposed skin. It caused a comforting chill to run up your spine. You let your hair fall back into place and turned to look at him.
“How do I look?”
“Beautiful,” he answered instantly.
The first night Elvis performed at the International… you never saw a smile so wide. Though It was his first time performing in front of an audience this size. It was like he never left the stage. He jumped right back into the groove. He invited you and your brother, which you two gladly accepted.
When it came time, Elvis made his rounds around the room. Well, he walked through the middle part, and back up to the stage. He grabbed as many women’s faces as he could and kissed them. You didn’t find it disgusting, you found it sweet? In a weird way, it didn’t push you off as Elvis being horny. You saw it as Elvis was saying thank you. He was thanking his fans for sticking by him.
He was back to what he loved doing. He may have at one point wanted to be like James Dean. Now… he just wanted to be Elvis. He wanted to sing, he wanted to dance, he wanted to make music. While he would’ve preferred you and Steve to be at one of the tables with his other guests, you opted for being near the stage.
You were right by the stairs that would lead him back up. Your eyes met and he made his way straight towards you. His hands cupped your face and he pulled you close, crashing his lips into yours. You melted against his perfectly sculpted lips and kissed him back. You felt as if the room around you was spinning, but probably did all the other girls.
Elvis pulled away and ran his finger along the necklace he gave you. He leaned down to your ear, “Meet me in my room after the show,” he whispered before pressing a kiss to the side of your head and heading back on stage. You watched him in disbelief at what had just happened. Unbeknownst to the death glare Steve was giving Elvis.
That’s when your relationship changed with him. You had the most magical night and he asked for you to stay with him. You agreed in a heartbeat, hell anyone would have agreed. After the sex you two had though… There was something more, there was love. As much as you loved Steve and working alongside him, you wanted a break and a change. Why not give this love thing a chance? Oh boy did the Colonel not like that.
He called the influences of you and Steve hillbillies. That you two were trying to steal him away. In all honesty, you two just wanted him to do what he loved. The amount of conversations of fights you shared with the Colonel. The amount of threats you received from him… It was painful, but you just knew deep down in that fat sack of his. He was suffering and was pushing that onto other people.
“You’re dragging him down!” He yelled at you, his spit falling right onto your face. You gagged and shivered as it hit your face. You whipped your face and glared at the man in front of you.
“Funny, because last time anyone checked, you were.” You laugh coldly and shook your head.
“I am making him bigger!” He argued back. You rolled your eyes at him. Every second he got, he picked a fight with you.
“You’re not letting him do what he wants! He wants to tour the world!” You exclaimed to him. He narrowed his eyes at you.
“God, now he’s in your goddamn brain! He will never EVER go on a world tour. I will make sure of that as long as I am living!”
It was like that almost every day. So when it came to Elvis’ fifth week at the Internation, it was no surprise when the Colonel showed up at the suit. You had decided to stay in when Elvis performed his midnight show. You loved watching him perform, but you just wanted to rest up and read your book.
There was no knock, he just walked in. You looked over at him confused. “Colonel?” You stood up from the couch and placed your book on the table. “What are you doing here?” You asked as you made your way over to him.
“Getting rid of you,” he spoke in a harsh voice. You knew the Colonel never really liked you. Hell, he never really liked anyone. He always thought they were out to get him.
“I’m a bit lost,” you looked at him confused.
“Ever since you and your idiotic brother came into Elvis’ life you changed him.” He spoke in a twisted voice.
“He’s just back in his roots. Being happy again, we didn’t change him.” You corrected the Colonel.
“Oh please, you don’t know what makes my boy happy. You’re just here as his little sex toy.” Colonel tried to get under your skin. Get you all rattled up. “I suggest you get the hell out before the truth comes out about you.”
“What truth? I have nothing to hide?” In fact, you don’t even think you have any secrets. You kept honest because honesty is the best medicine. Nothing good came out of lying. Looking at the fat fuck in front of you proved you of that.
“You may think that now, but when word gets out that Elvis’ sweet innocent girlfriend killed one of his fans in anger… things may be different.” You just shook your head at his words. Why was he doing this? What was so fucked up with his brain that led him to be this way?
“Elvis wouldn’t believe that,” you shook your head. The Colonel started to walk closer to you, and you felt uncomfortable. With every step he took, you took one back. His fat cigar stood off his lips as his cane hit hard against the flooring.
“Oh, but he will. He believes everything I tell him-”
“Because you force it down his throat!” You quickly spoke interrupting him. He didn’t like that. He held this look in his eyes. It was like they turned a shade darker, almost black in fact. You were so focused on his eyes that you didn’t notice when he lifted the cane and hit you with it. The top of his cane hit into your hip causing pain to erupt. It wasn’t the worst thing in the world, but it wasn’t pleasant.
“Ow! What the fuck is your problem!?” You grabbed onto the golden alcohol cart as you almost fell from the impact. With a clash, some of the glassware fell to the floor. You looked at him with anger, your chest heaved out. This was no longer a nice conversation. Especially not after he would accuse you of such things.
“You are precisely my problem, Y/n.” He pulled the cart away from you, which caused the rest of the glasses to shake and fall onto the floor. Each and every one broke. Shards of glass accompanied the floor along with split liquor. You were able to balance yourself up, but you soon fell to the ground when he whacked you once again. You really wish you had kept your shoes on.
Your palms landed on the loose pieces of glass. You sucked in a breath and looked up at the Colonel. This fat fuck was about to kill you and for what!? What would he even gain from killing you? Your breath quickened as you watched him lift his cane once more. The tip of his cane hit against your head and scratched along your cheek. Your head snapped to the side from impact.
You felt your vision get blurry. Your head felt like it was spinning in the clouds. You ran your finger along the fresh cut and looked up at him. If you didn’t do anything he would bludgeon you to death right here. You quickly moved out of the way of his flying cane and got up, despite feeling the blood rush through your brain. You rushed over to Elvis’ gun collection and opened up the chest.
You heard him laugh from behind you, he didn’t believe you were going to shoot him. Your blurred vision gazed over the guns and ended up just picking a random one. It didn’t have to matter, you were just trying to protect yourself at this point. You quickly turned to him and pointed the gun at him.
“Oh, you don’t have the guts in you, girly.” The Colonel commented as he made his way to you. You breathed heavily as your body shook ever so slightly. As the Colonel came closer, his face was just in arms reached. You raised the gun and hit him across the face. He stumbled back in surprise and looked at you.
“Wow,” the Colonel spoke as he brought his hand up to his face. “You just keep fucking surprising me.” He let out a cough and turned his head. Soon he hacked up a ball of spit and mucus together and spit it out. Yet, it wasn’t mucus or spit… it was blood. Your hands shook as you kept the gun pointed at him. There was no way you were going to shoot him. You already knew this, and he knew that.
“I didn’t do anything to you! Why are you trying to kill me!?” You asked in a loud shaky voice.
“You are trying to take my boy away from me!” He matched your volume. No… no, you couldn’t believe that was the answer. There was more, he just wasn’t sharing anything with you.
“All you care about is the money! You don’t give a shit about Elvis!!” You screamed as you took a step closer to him.
“I care de-”
“Bullshit!” You screamed and clicked the safety off.
“I’ve had just enough from you-” Before he could finish you just started to beat his face in. You don’t know what came over you. You just felt this source of anger come over you. The Colonel fell onto his back and you just continued to hit the metal gun against his face.
He tried to push you off him, but you just kept going and kept going and- Bang! You stood up quickly with a shaken expression and looked at him with wide eyes. Blood started to trickle out of his neck and onto the floor. Your body shook as your hand went limp. The metal piece fell out of your hand and onto the floor. You… You just shot him. It was self-defense right? You couldn’t be at fault here, he attacked you first.
The sounds of the doorknob pulled you out of your thoughts. You stood like a deer in headlights as the door pushed open. The door creaked in and the disheveled appearance of your boyfriend appeared. His eyes met yours and he smiled, but it quickly changed once he saw the state of yourself. You held a look of fear and pain in your eyes. He saw the red splatters over your face and purely white dress.
His eyes scanned the room as he noticed the liquor cart thrown on the ground. Glass shattered all over the floor. He walked forward and closed the door behind him. It didn’t take long before he saw the lifeless body of his manager on the floor. He should be sad… depressed even. Yet, he felt a sense of happiness.
“Well, it’s ‘bout time,” he said as he looked at the scene. He tore the scarf off his neck and tossed it onto the couch. He reached down and picked the gun up in his hands. Most of his guns kept cold from the metal, but this one was warm from your touch. He brought it over to his collection and placed it down to the side. He’d have to clean it off later. He came up to you and took your hands in his.
“What happened?” He asked you with a soft voice.
“H-he uh- he-” You tried to speak but you were too shaken up. Hell, you just killed someone! And… and… to be honest, you weren’t exactly bothered by it. You killed a bad person. You killed the villain.
“Go get cleaned up. I’ll worry ‘bout this.” He said as he cupped your face. You flinched a bit when his hand came in contact with your cut. Nonetheless, you nodded quickly and looked into his eyes. You felt at ease, you felt safe. Elvis leaned down and pressed his lips against yours. You hummed and kissed him back.
The two of you separated and you made your way over to the bathroom. You looked yourself in the mirror and cringed at the sight. You had blood all over you. You let out a sigh and turned on the sink. You heard the muffled sounds of Elvis’ voice and tilted your head towards the door. You walked away from the sink and stood closer to the door.
“I need ya to come up here.” You listened in on Elvis. “There’s been an accident.” You closed your eyes and let out a sigh. Well, in terms of evidence, the shot was an accident. The beating his face in with a gun wasn’t. You were only fighting back though, and the Colonel just pushed your hands in a way that triggered the gun.
“You’ll understand once ya get your ass up here.” The sound of the phone clicking indicated that Elvis ended the call. His footsteps came closer to the bathroom and he pushed open the door. He looked over at you and let out a sigh. He couldn’t believe what happened to his girl.
“Come ‘ere.” He said gently as he dragged you over to the sink. He dipped a washcloth under the running water and dabbed it onto your cheek gently. “I just called Jerry. He’ll be up to help assess the situation.”
“I-I’m sorry, Elvis,” you spoke quietly and shamefully.
“Oh please, I always wanted him dead.” He admitted with a straight face. You knew Elvis hated the Colonel but to want him dead? Well… you wanted him dead also. So did your brother, and so did just about anyone he worked with. “But I promise you, nothing bad will happen to ya.”
“How can you be so sure of that Elvis? We’re on the thirtieth floor, and the hotel is flooded with people. You can’t exactly walk out the front door.” You pointed out to him.
“We’ll figure that out once Jerry comes up okay?” Elvis pulled away the washcloth and tended to your hands. Most of the glass didn’t stick when you landed, but there were a few pieces here and there. He pulled them out and then cleaned your hands. Elvis may have never appeared to be one to aid people, but when it came to his girls… He would kill to protect them. If you hadn’t killed the Colonel, well… he would’ve done so himself.
He pulled away once he was done and turned off the sink. “Take a shower, love,” he said as he gave your bum a quick slap and walked out of the bathroom. You let out the slightest sequel and smiled softly. You knew he would take care of you, and you were lucky to have that in a partner. He closed the door behind him and you were left alone.
You peeled the white dress off your body and frowned at the blood splotches. You knew you were going to have to through the dress away. It was easy evidence that pointed you towards the killing. You just… You loved this dress so much. If only it was black instead of white. Maybe then you could salvage it. You brought your hands up to your necklace and took it off. You laid it gently on the sick and looked back towards the shower.
You undressed the rest of your undergarments and made your way over to the shower. You leaned into the shower and turned the water on. You turned the knob towards heat and wait for it to warm up. Only then did you step in and let the water run against your skin. You closed your eyes and let out a shuddered breath. In the main room, Elvis was opening the door.
“What’s the accident man?” Jerry questioned as he walked in. His eyes were mainly on Elvis, but when he looked anywhere but- “Wait-”
Elvis closed the door and nodded, answering Jerry’s unspoken question. “He’s done. Got shot in the neck shortly after having his face beaten in.” Elvis explained what he could only gather.
“How?” Jerry asked, trying to grasp together the parts.
“Y/n,” Elvis responded. Jerry snapped his head in Elvis’ direction and his eyes widened.
“What? No,” Jerry shook his head. You were the sweetest girl Jerry had ever met. You had a hard stick, yes, but to go ahead and kill someone. You would never do that.
“I don’t know what happened, I could only assume he started it. She’s got a cut on her cheek, she had glass in her hands. She grabbed one of my guns and beat his face in. Shot him in the neck.” Elvis shrugged his shoulders. He knew he wouldn’t get the full story until you spoke to him, but for now… he just paced together what he could.
“Damn,” was all Jerry could say. Elvis nodded and rubbed his jaw gently. He was just trying to figure out what to do. They had to get the body out of the building and taken care of. How they were going to do that though… that was the question.
“I don’t know how we’re gonna do this EP,” Jerry admitted. Elvis let out a breath and nodded. He knew it wasn’t an easy task. Not to mention, if news ever got out and you were the suspect… he would take the blame easily. He was more of a suspect than you would be.
No one could know what happened. “What if we take him down to his office? Throw around his office a bit. Make it look like someone came in and killed him.” Elvis suggested.
“Could work, but her blood could be on his cane.” Jerry pointed out.
“We’ll clean it off.” Elvis replied back.
“Okay… Okay, yeah, we can do that.” Jerry nodded slowly as he thought over the idea. It was simple really. They drag him down to the Colonel’s office. It was just below this floor. No one would see them. They sneak the body in and mess up the office. Make it look like it was s struggle.
“I’ll have someone come up and clean this mess. Explain that Y/n had a fall.” Elvis continued to speak out about their plan.
“And bled out that much?” Jerry questioned him. Elvis gave Jerry an all-knowing look and nodded.
“Right… We’ll clean the blood up and then call up the housemaids.” He changed up his wording.
“E…” Your soft voice broke them out of their conversation. Both Elvis and Jerry turned towards you. You had just finished your shower and made your way out of the bathroom. One of Elvis’ robes wrapped around your body. The white from your pearls and the shine from the diamonds stood out from underneath.
“Yeah, darlin’?” Elvis questioned as he gave you his attention.
“What’s going to happen to me?” You asked gently. That’s all you thought about while you were in the shower. What was going to happen to you? You couldn’t exactly keep this to yourself.
“Nothin’ is going to happen to you, love.” Elvis made his way over to you. He placed his hands on your upper arm and rubbed gently in a comforting manner. “We got it all planned, We’re gonna take him down to his office. It’s gonna look like someone broke in and killed him.”
“I- I killed him…”
“No one has to know,” he said in a whispered tone ad he pushed away the loose pieces of hair that stuck to your face. “To them, an enemy killed him. No one will know, and if the truth comes out… I’ll take the blame.”
“Elvis no,” you shook your head, “I can’t let you do that.”
“You saved me, I owe everything to you. I know damn well my sweet girl ain’ gonna go to prison now.” The corner of his lips turned upward. You let out a breath and just shook your head. You knew you weren’t going to win this battle.
“Okay,” you said gently.
“Can you do me a favor, darlin’?” He then asked. You nodded easily not having to think about it. “Clean up some of the blood. Then call housekeeping, and say you fell and had a little bit of an accident. They’ll clean up the rest.”
“Okay,” Elvis leaned down and pulled you in for a long kiss. You closed your eyes and felt your hands grab his top. You pulled him closer to you and deepened the kiss. When the two of you pulled away, you shared this look between the both of yourselves. You two were stuck together now, and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
Elvis let go of you and turned towards Jerry. “Let’s get him out of here.” Your eyes watched as they picked up the Colonel’s limp body. You don’t think you will ever heal from this. You were going to be haunted forever by this memory. They made their way out of the room and you let out a breath that you didn’t know you were holding.
You went into the bathroom and grabbed one of the towels you just dried off on and went over to the spot. You threw the towel down and looked out the window. You knew no one could see you up here, but you still had that fear that someone saw… That they watched you shoot him.
You let out a sigh and got down on the ground to clean up the blood. Picking up as much as possible. It was okay if there was some blood smeared. The housekeepers will just clean them. You did just have an… accident. Once you finished cleaning up most of the mess you walked over to the front door and dropped the towel down.
You watched your step as you walked over to the phone. You picked it up and called the number to the front desk. You let out a hum and sat down on the couch, your book long forgotten by now. “Mr. Presley, what can we do for you?”
“Hi, I was wondering if we could get housekeeping up here? I tripped and made a bit of a mess with the alcohol cart,” You chuckled lightly but inside you were dying.
“Of course Ms. Binder. We’ll send someone up right away.”
“Thank you,” you hung up shortly after and let out a sigh. You let yourself sink into the black patterned material.
Down in the Colonel’s office, “Goddamn he weighs a fucking ton,” Jerry groaned as he and Elvis dropped the Colonel’s body onto the ground.
“Ya telling me,” Elvis let out a huff and looked around. He leaned down and picked up the cane and looked at the Colonel. Jerry looked at Elvis with a look of intrigued. Before he knew it, Elvis lifted the cane and bashed it onto Parker’s face. Jerry flinched back a bit but continued to watch as he took a few more swings before dropping it on the floor.
“Fuck you,” Elvis muttered and looked around the office. This could be his chance to look around. See what the Colonel was hiding.
“You want to see what he could be hiding huh?” Jerry could read Elvis like no one else. He was his best friend after all, but he wanted to snoop too. Jerry hated the Colonel just as much as Elvis did.
“Oh yeah,” Elvis nodded simply.
“How about, you get back to your girl? I’ll look around and finish up in here.” Jerry suggested. Elvis turned and looked at Jerry.
“Yeah… Yeah,” Elvis nodded and rubbed his jaw. “Yeah, I should get back to her.”
“You want to hit him again don’t you?” Jerry let out a light sigh. He knew he shouldn’t push Elvis to do such things but…
“Ohh yeah,”
“Well, go ahead-” Jerry should’ve never said anything. Elvis picked up that cane once more and just went to town. The Colonel’s face was unrecognized once he was done. He just had so much anger for him, and he finally got it out.
“Okay, Elvis… I think it’s time you go back to, Y/n.” Jerry said as he took the cane out of Elvis’ hand. Elvis let out a loud breath and nodded.
“Yeah… I’ll uh- I’ll see ya tomorrow, Jer,” Elvis said as he headed towards the door.
“See you, EP.” With that, Elvis left the Colonel’s office and headed back up to his suit. Tonight has been… weirdly rough. All he wanted to do was lay in bed with his girl and fall asleep. He knew tomorrow wasn’t going to be any easier. They would find him tomorrow, and everything would be turned into a crime scene.
As Elvis reached the suit and walked in he noticed that the curtains were closed. He blinked a bit to adjust his eyes and made his way over to the bed. He saw you curled up on top of the blankets and smiled. He pressed his knee onto the mattress and pulled himself up. He leaned over and pressed a kiss against your head.
He would do anything for you.

Just saw the colm and wylan exert from time for a spare prayer and would love more of that fic for the game.
HI! I’m so sorry, this message got buried for a minute there. Here’s a little snippet from chapter 7!
He did try to calm down.
Really, he tried. Colm stood there on the landing outside Kaz Brekker’s office, and waited for his son to emerge again. While he waited, he tried all the usual tricks— the deep breaths, stretching out his miserably tense neck and shoulders, planting his feet and just trying desperately to remember that he was on solid ground.
Even if it constantly felt as though the proverbial rug was being ripped out from under him at every turn.
Every time he thought about it all for longer than a moment, his heart leapt back up into his throat. His blood pressure skyrocketed. His ribs went tight and constricted around his lungs.
Saints.
The only thing that kept him from beating the door down with his hands and ordering his son to not go through with this plan, was the memory of his face when they spoke last night. When Colm let his emotions get away from him, and he…
He hadn’t meant to say what he had! He didn’t think Jesper couldn’t be loved. Of course he was loved! As long as Colm Fahey breathed, his son would be loved. He only meant that… He just needed him to understand that this wasn’t where he belonged. This wasn’t right, these people weren’t his family.
His father was his family.
These people are like my family, he’d said, they know me.
The words echoed in Colm’s mind like a gunshot down an alleyway, and he shook his head to try and clear the sudden indignation— but he couldn’t help it. It felt like a betrayal. After all the secrets and lies, all the lessons Colm had taught him thrown by the wayside, Jesper looked him in the eye and called a den of conniving thieves his bloody family.
He sucked in a deep breath and let it out long. Colm had to exorcise this as much as he could before Jesper came out that door. He had to be able to speak his mind, and actually be heard this time. If he failed, nothing would stop Jesper from going ahead with this insane plan, and…
Colm could lose him forever.
When the doorknob turned and Jesper appeared, the first thing he did was sigh at his father. He pressed his lips into a wane smile— the kind that said please don’t. I know what you’re going to say, so please don’t try.
But Colm had to try.
“Jesper—“
Jesper kept walking.
Fine. Colm followed. “Jesper, you— I just wanted to—“ he could swear those long legs had sped up faster, the floorboards creaking under his boots. Colm sputtered on, doing his best to keep up as he tried to make his case to his son's back. It felt like he’d been doing that his whole life sometimes— trailing behind Jesper and trying to urge caution, trying to keep up with someone who was always running away. “Jes, son please! I’m trying to apologise here!”
That caught his attention.
Thanks for playing! ❤️ and thank you for your patience!!

Fluff - Drarry fic recs
(You’re a) Revolution by OTPshipper98(23k)
“Will I—Will I see you around?”
Malfoy snorts.
“Careful, Potter,” he murmurs, almost to himself, as his fingers linger on the doorknob. “One might think you actually enjoy my presence.”
Eight years after the end of the war, Draco Malfoy stumbles into Harry’s shop in the middle of a storm—no wand, no backstory; no signs of having lived in the country since the Battle of Hogwarts. During their first encounter, Harry promises—and the words sound like an old mantra—that he'll figure out Draco's secrets eventually.
And then he does. He does, except…it doesn't quite feel like a victory.
Quick as a Flash of Lightning, Unhurried as Eternity by babooshk_art, onbeinganangel(10k)
Can you fall in love with someone by simply watching them fiercely love another version of yourself?
The Difference Between Dust And Soup (Is You) by gnarf(17k)
When Harry returned for his eighth year at Hogwarts he had high hopes that he'd have a normal and quiet year for once—he had earned it after all!
But when he found Malfoy starving and unconscious in the Astronomy Tower one night, it all started over again. He had to figure out what happened to him.
After Harry started to cook for Malfoy, and while sharing their secret dinner night after night, he couldn't help but wonder if there was a possibility of them becoming more.
The Lesson of You by thecouchsofa(65k)
Harry likes kids. That doesn't mean he's ready for a small boy to turn up on the doorstep of Grimmauld Place insisting that Harry is his father. That was weird enough, but the child identifying Draco Malfoy as his other parent was something Harry had no bloody idea how to handle.
Baby Gate by donnarafiki(8k)
A piece of baby gate hit the back of his head. Pansy shook her head lightly, looking exasperated. “I’m going to call Harry.”
“No.” The response was automatic, out of his mouth before he could think about it. “Not Potter."
Scorpius is the best thing that ever happened to Draco. Really. But that doesn't mean there aren't challenges. When it becomes clear Draco needs some expert advice as to how to manage Scorp's accidental magic, Draco get's more than he bargained for.
Just The Two Of Us by Hekatee, Pierian(3k)
Harry finally meets his soulmate. Except his soulmate has been given a heavy dose of morphine and has no idea that his drugged-up rambling includes the words that change Harry's life forever.
The Promise of Summer by Omi_Ohmy(66k)
How was Harry supposed to know that coming back for eighth year would be so confusing? Everything is the same, and yet not the same. And nowhere is this more obvious than with Draco Malfoy. Harry finds himself once more watching and following Malfoy, trying to work him out. When they are drawn together to heal the castle, Harry doesn’t just find Malfoy - he also finds himself.
Strange Bedfellows by orphan_account, ravenclawsquill(30k)
When Harry encounters a frail and fidgety Draco Malfoy at the Ministry, he just knows something is wrong and he’s determined to get to the bottom of it.

"Sometimes, when you smile, I swear I hear music, then I realise it’s just the beat of my heart in my ears...Come back so I can dance."

Flower War by XxTheDarkLordxX(8k)
“So, I was thinking—” Neville cut off, causing Harry to peer up curiously. Neville’s eyes were narrowed on the flower, small frown marring his features. “Oh, how rude.”
“What’s rude? It’s just a flower. Strange, since Malfoy sent it to me. Do you think he was cursed? I mean, it’s not like him to be nice.”
Neville snorted, mouth twitching rapidly. “No, it’s not,” He agreed readily. “Malfoy sending this makes perfect sense though. The flower means, Beauty is your only attraction."
Or... the one where Harry and Draco have a flower war. Their tamest fight yet to date as they trade silent insults, cutting barbs and even a few compliments sprinkled in.

Draco makes origami. Harry collects them. All of them. It's not a problem, he just... he likes them, a great deal.

The Potion Makes the Rules by SquadOfCats(4k)
When Harry smells Amortentia for the first time in sixth year, he is entranced by the scent: green apples, snow on pine trees, and something else...something seductive and familiar he recognizes, but can't place. Eight years later, when he gets into a fistfight in the middle of the Ministry, Draco Malfoy head-butts him in the face and suddenly Harry knows exactly what he smelled in the potion all those years ago.
The Frisky Furnishings of Malfoy Manor by Writcraft(19k)
The course of true love never did run smooth.

Show Me by loveglowsinthedark(7k)
“We can be friends, if you like,” he says instead, nonchalant and careless.
“What I’d like,” Potter says seriously, “is to kiss you.”
Draco feels his jaw drop, feels the way his hair tumbles into his eyes when he whips around to stare at Potter. “What?” he breathes.
“I think I’d like to kiss you,” Potter repeats sombrely, no hint of mirth evident.
“You think?” Draco says steadily, proud of himself for holding himself together.
Potter’s eyebrows slide up briefly but then Draco can’t think or act or speak or breathe because Potter is leaning in and cupping his cheek gently. “I know,” Potter says simply, and kisses Draco.

Harry brings Draco his wand back after the war and the rest is history.

Draco spends his eighth year at Hogwarts under a study contract, working the Hospital Wing with Madam Pomfrey.
He should have foreseen how often that meant bumping into Harry Potter.
(In which a touch-starved Draco has a praise kink that Harry is delighted to indulge.)

All I Ask ; Rafe Cameron (Part 2)
masterlist
#Part 2
#Part 1
Pairing: Rafe Cameron x reader
Summary: Reader finds herself in the arms of her best friend’s brother after finding her boyfriend cheating on her
Warnings: Swearing, cheating, hella angst, JJ being an extreme asshole
A/N: you guys are truly amazing. thank you so much for the countless amount of love & support for my last works, i love you!
p.s, my request box is always open! go ahead and drop any ideas bae
“Hey,” he said softly. “You’re okay?”
(Y/N) emitted a laugh, her eyes focusing on the road, but her mind was somewhere else. She cleared her throat, “Um, I don’t think so.”
“Want to talk about it?” he said, and she noticed the grogginess behind his voice. She felt bad now, knowing that she had woken him up, but she was desperate for someone.
She couldn’t go to the pogues; her only friends, not when they knew. They knew all along about Kie and JJ but they didn’t try to talk to her. She thought about Pope, how he had looked so nervous around her since a month ago and how she had thought of it as nothing more than anxiety for his new upcoming scholarship application.
(Y/N) groaned, tightening her fingers around the steering wheel. Why had she been so naive? Why couldn’t she realize the signs sooner?
“Are you okay?” Rafe asked, suddenly jolting up from his bed when he realized how quiet she has gotten. Ever since they got close 4 years ago, there was never a long silence between them as (Y/N) always has a random topic to discuss about. He would tell her that he doesn’t care, but he truly likes the new information she’ll give him.
Like how the word ‘who’ is the oldest English word in the world.
“Like, the owl?” he asked, scrunching his face. (Y/N) rolled her eyes, licking the slowly melting ice cream, and Rafe had a sudden thought of stealing her snack.
“No. God, you’re stupid. It’s who.”
“Yeah, the owl,” he grunted, thinking hard. (Y/N) looked at him with her bored eyes again, and Rafe took a quick glance at the dripping ice cream.
“No, Rafe, that’s woo. I’m talking about who.”
“You should write it.”
Rafe watched as she used her pointer to write the word ‘who’ on the table using her ice cream. Rafe laughed, finally understanding the joke, and he smiled wider when she returned a grin.
“No,” her voice croaked, and she could feel her tears slowly rolling down her red cheeks. God, she felt stupid. Why would she cry over stupid stuff like this? She had told Rafe before that she couldn’t understand why Bella Swan was too sad over Edward’s flight, saying how Bella had Jacob all along to help her get over him. Rafe rolled his eyes at this statement, muttering something along the words of ‘this is a movie’, ‘Edward is hotter’, and ‘Jacob look like that cashier guy at the hardware store’.
But she understood everything clearly now because she too, felt like staying in her room for the rest of her life.
“What happened? Do you need me to pick you up?” Rafe asked again, finally standing up from his bed and walking towards his bedside table to retrieve his car keys. He rubbed his eyes, still so tired, but he wanted to make sure she was safe.
“It’s alright, Rafe, you don’t have to pick me up, it’s just, um-” she took a deep breath, “Can I come over?”
Rafe stopped in his tracks, not sure if he had heard her right. He waited for a few seconds, “Huh?”
“Can I come over?” (Y/N) bit her lips, making a turn towards the road heading to Figure 8 from the Cut. The road was deserted, and she looked at the dashboard to check on the time.
2.43 a.m.
“Yeah, sure, um, when are you coming? I just have to wait for you, so you know the new passcode of the backdoor.”
“You guys changed it already?” she asked, and she was surprised to find a smile creeping onto her face. “When was the last time I came over? 2 months ago?”
“9,” Rafe muttered, “But it’s okay. I’ll wait for you, okay?”
“Okay,” she released a breath, “Thank you, Rafe.”
“Yeah,” was all he said before ending the line.
Maybe she did missed him.
When she arrived before the white building of the Camerons’ household, she could see a figure sitting on the front porch, bending over something that (Y/N) assumed to be a phone.
Rafe was mindlessly playing Candy Crush, just starting on his third level when he heard a car door being shut. He jumped to his feet, ready to greet the girl, but stopped in his tracks when he saw the state of her.
She was still in her party clothes, her (H/C) hair in a messy ponytail and her makeup all smudged. He tried to think of a joke, wanting to lighten up the mood, but his deed was interrupted when she finally had him in a tight hug.
“Whoa,” Rafe exclaimed, putting his arms around her waist. He let her stayed in that position for a few more seconds, liking the warmth, and finally parted after he cleared his throat.
“What’s wrong?”
“I, um-” she sighed, not looking into his eyes. “I got cheated on.”
Rafe was glued to his spot as he watched her wiped her tears with her sleeve, looking down to her glittery blue slippers. He couldn’t remember the amount of times he had prayed for his (Y/N) and JJ to call it off, but he didn’t hope for any kind of cheating to occur.
“I’m so sorry,” Rafe said, pulling her into a hug again. He rested his chin against the top of her head, letting the scent of strawberry wafted into his nostrils. (Y/N) cried against his chest, her face all scrunched up, and when she pulled away for the second time, she noticed the tear stains on his shirt.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry,” she rushed, trying to remove the stain using her fingers even though she knew it was impossible. She was too tired to think logically; she felt like laying in bed and watching Love Island until the day she dies.
“You’re still stupid, even when you’re all fucked up,” Rafe sighed, but he watched her from the corners of his eyes in case his words had struck her, but she looked like she understood the joke. She smiled weakly, pulling on the hem of her dress that had rode up down.
“Come on, let’s get you cleaned up,” he said, pulling her by her wrist as he guided her through the backdoor to his room. He showed her the new passcode proudly, mouthing how it was his birthday date this time, and (Y/N) had emitted a small laugh.
Screw maybe, she did missed him.
“And still a mess,” she sighed, plopping onto Rafe’s blue bedsheet as she took a look around the room. The painting of a random boat in the middle of an ocean was still askewed, and his trash can were piling up. She made a face, pointing at the cause of disturbance.
“You have to clean that.”
“Sorry I couldn’t let you stay in our five stars suite, ma’am,” he said, finding an old t-shirt in his cupboard. “You know, since you barged in this hotel at this time, all there’s left is the 3 stars suite.”
“You’re calling this a 3 stars suite?” she laughed, tilting her head to one side. “Rafe, this room can’t even be rated.”
“Whatever,” he pulled out a yellow t-shirt, putting it aside before looking for a new pair of boxers. “Is your room still pink with that weird strawberry pound cake smell?”
“Yeah,” she laughed, crossing her legs. She was glad there were no crumbs on the bed, or else she would rather sleep in her car. “And that smell’s great. My sensory organs are blocked by all the dust you’re collecting in here.”
Rafe grinned, liking how she was back to her old self, and handed her the pair of boxers and the yellow t-shirt. (Y/N) muttered a quick thanks, her feet lightly padding against the carpeted floor towards his bathroom. She closed the door, leaning against the sink, watching her reflection in the mirror.
She did look miserable, and her eyes were all red and puffy. She always hate how puffy her eyes would get after a nice session of crying, having to endure the pain of soothing it down again.
She shook her head, not wanting to spend anymore time thinking about JJ or Kie or the pogues who had betrayed her, and tried to reach for the zip of her dress. After a few good tries she sighed, relaxing her cramped arms. The familiar yet uneasy pain coursed through her veins, and without wanting to abuse herself anymore, she turned the doorknob.
“Rafe? Can you help me?”
“Huh? Yeah,” he came to the door, closing his eyes before he halted right in front of the object. “Are you naked?”
“No, can’t seem to be, too. Can you help me unzip?”
Rafe opened his eyes, feeling his heartbeat quickening, and with trembling hands, slowly unzipped her dress and stopping directly at the curve of her bottoms, silently admiring the view.
He cleared his throat, shaking his head at the childish behaviour he just found himself in. “Yeah, done.”
“Thanks, Rafe,” she smiled, and turned to close the door again. Rafe listened to her breathing in the bathroom for a few more seconds, knowing how hard she was trying to ignore the aching feeling eating off of her. He wished he could take her pain away an make it his, knowing that at least he’ll have an excuse to snort more coke to ‘forget the pain’.
When she got out of the bathroom, Rafe had to stop himself from drooling over her in his shirt and boxers. She always look good, but she had never looked better in nothing but his yellow shirt and his boxers.
Rafe closed the light, remembering how she hates sleeping with any form of light either it’s tiny or big, and settled himself on the sofa. He wanted to give her space, not wanting to rush anything, knowing how tired she must felt from all the things she had to endure today.
“Rafe, we’re not 10. You can sleep on the same bed as I am,” she sighed, turning to face the other side. Rafe stood up, thanking the gods above, and settled for his new room.
“We never sleep in the same bed before,” he said, pulling the covers to shield himself from the cold. (Y/N) snorted at this statement, still not looking at him or even turning to face him.
The closest thing they have done to sleep right next to each other was in the car during a road trip, and when they woke up, they were both throwing disgusted faces and pretending to vomit.
“Stop it, you guys look stupid,” Sarah groaned, giving them a quick look over her shoulder. Rafe pulled his middle finger from under the blanket he was sharing with (Y/N), causing her to snort and struggling to hide her laugh.
. . .
“So yeah, that’s how you hit it.”
“You’re bluffing,” (Y/N) rolled her eyes, taking over the club and watching the small hole in the distance, squinting her eyes. She took a step back, licked her teeth, and gave Topper the club back.
“See? I told you I’m right!” he exclaimed happily, clasping his hands together. He returned to the game, focusing on his goal, and hit the golf ball.
“That’s fine, I guess,” (Y/N) announced when he came back to the resting area, “For beginners.”
Rafe snorted, downing his mineral water before handing Topper the same bottle. Topper grunted at him, muttering how it’s unhygienic, but he took a full swing of it anyways, being so thirsty after sitting under the sun for hours long.
“We’re glad you’re back with us, (Y/N),” Topper smiled, removing his cap and fanning himself with the clothing. He opened his mouth to say something, but when he looked at Rafe’s expression, he quickly shut his mouth.
He wanted to ask her if she ever missed their old clique when she was with the pogues, but Rafe knew better. It had been 3 weeks since the incidence, and she had been doing so well in coping with the situation. They had been inseparable ever since, always attached to the hips everywhere they go; he couldn’t let one tiny mistake slip that can cause her another breakdown.
“Hey,” Kelce jogged to them, smiling apologetically at Rafe and Topper before placing a quick kiss on (Y/N) ‘s cheeks. (Y/N) smiled, knowing how sweet and gentle Kelce is, almost glad he still does the same thing to her even after they had not been hanging out for a year.
“You’re not dressed for the occasion,” Topper rolled his eyes, “And late. We’re already packing up, man.”
“I know, but I’m wondering if you guys would like to listen to Cage The Elephant this evening by the beach,” he explained, still heaving from his previous activity. He had drove straight from his home to the country club after getting 4 tickets to the show, excited to show his friends what he had gotten for her.
(Y/N) snorted, throwing her arms into the air. “Fuck off, Kelce. There’s no way they’re coming down to Obx.”
Kelce sighed, taking out his phone before showing her the proof in his photos. (Y/N) grinned, trying to contain herself, and looked at Rafe who seemed to be smiling as well.
“Thanks, Kelce,” she laughed, pulling him into a hug. They made her happy, and all the negative thoughts she had about them during her brief friendship with the pogues suddenly evaporating into the air. She squealed, jumping wildly, and she swore she has never felt this happy before.
Just them four. Like the old times.
Four hours later, (Y/N) took a step back when they arrived at the beach, the memory of what happened three weeks ago suddenly rewinding in her head. Rafe noticed how quiet she had been, and pulled her aside while Topper and Kelce went to check on the stage.
“Are you okay?”
(Y/N) bit her lips, nodding. She ran her fingers over the penguin charm Rafe had gotten her a week prior, saying how it resembles him when he sees her. (Y/N) rolled her eyes at him during that surprising moment, touched yet confused at the story behind the penguin charm.
“Okay. Do you need a drink?” he asked again, staring into her eyes. She shook her head, wetting her lips and putting on her usual smile. Rafe grinned at her, muttering how she’s doing so good, all while guiding her towards their two other friends.
“(Y/N)?”
(Y/N) turned to look at the source, not thinking much. She almost fell to the ground when she saw the person responsible, but Rafe still had his arms around her. He turned to check on her again, but followed her gaze when he noticed she was staring at the opposite direction.
“What the fuck?” Rafe yelled, pushing JJ’s chest with so much anger that he toppled over to John B. Sarah yelped, pulling Kie to her side, watching as her brother walked towards them furiously.
“Chill, man, I just want to talk to her,” he said, taking a deep breath. He noticed the crowd starting to notice them, and his eyes landed on a certain girl who was held up by Topper and Kelce, both asking if she was okay.
“Fuck off, pogue,” Rafe said, his eyes stern as he stared over JJ and his group of friends. “You have nothing to say to her.”
As he turned to return to his friends, his chest heaving from the near-fight he almost encounter with JJ, he bended to (Y/N)’s height to check on her state. Her eyes were glassy, her face red.
“So you’re fucking them all now like a whore?” JJ shouted, loud enough for everyone else around them to gasp, and some already had their phones out. (Y/N) was shocked at this statement, frozen on her feet, not knowing what on earth would make JJ say that to her.
He was never mean to her, even when they had a fight. He yelled at her sometimes, sure, but she had been the one yelling first. He never called her anything of that sort, not even during sex, where she had given him her full consent.
“You’re crazy,” she muttered, her lips trembling. “Go to hell.”
“No, no, because it has always been easy for you, right? You broke up with me, got on with Rafe, leave your own friends and come back to the country clubs?” he laughed, and she flinched at his words. If JJ had meant the pogues as her friends, then he was totally wrong.
“Fuck off, pogue,” Topper stepped out, and before he could finish his sentence, JJ landed a full punch on his face, causing him to fall onto the ground with a thud.
(Y/N) screamed, getting to his side as Rafe returned JJ’s gesture. Topper laid on the ground with his nose starting to bleed, causing (Y/N) to panic while she rummaged through Rafe’s backpack he had left on the ground for clean tissues.
Topper groaned, keep wanting to get up, but (Y/N) held him in place, not letting her friend go and hurt himself more just for her. She cried while she tried to wipe the blood, hearing the fight behind her.
“Fuck you! You stupid pogue! You should be in jail like your dad!”
Something cracked in JJ as he yelled something back in pure anger. He punched, kicked, slapped and hit Rafe who was already on the ground, spitting blood.
“JJ! That’s enough,” Pope pulled him back, trying to contain the wild animal as he thrashed to escape. He yelled more curses at Rafe while Pope tried his best to pull him away, obviously not done with hitting the boy laying on the ground.
(Y/N) cried, running towards Rafe’s side, cupping his face and looking into his swollen eyes. She groaned when Rafe’s laugh filled the air, not believing how he was still joking in a state like this.
“I’m okay,” he said, his breath ragged. “Don’t cry. I’m okay.”
Rafe stood up slowly and looked at the direction of the still thrasing JJ, hearing his muffled shouts with his arms around (Y/N) ‘s waist. He held her close as she sobbed into his shoulder, still trembling.
“Let’s go home?” he asked, and (Y/N) didn’t need to be told twice to follow him into his car. As disappointed as she was that she didn’t get the chance to see her favourite band, she wanted to take care of Rafe, who had been there since the day she found out about Kie and JJ.
The clock struck 12 in the morning and the grandfather clock in the living room chimed as Rafe groaned, feeling a certain girl with trembling hands and tired eyes gently wiping a cotton pad across his cut.
“Fuck! I said slowly,” he grunted, closing his eyes to decrease the pain. (Y/N) bit her lips, trying to concentrate all the while trying to contain her laugh. He hissed again when she dabbed on his cut, this time with his fingers gripping tightly around her wrist.
“I said slowly.”
“I’m doing it slow, asshole,” she smiled, and felt him softened when she finally threw the last cotton pad. She pulled the covers to his chin, fixing the front part of hair before going to the bathroom to wash her hands. When she came back, she found him still awake with his eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling.
“I really need you to sleep,” she sighed, “To heal your pretty face.”
Rafe grinned and though (Y/N) tried her hardest not to smile back, she couldn’t deny the warm feeling settling in the pits of her stomach.
“You think I’m pretty?”
There was no use denying it anymore.
“Yeah,” she shrugged, getting into the space beside him. “Even when you are all fucked up.”
(Y/N) could sense his smile even when she didn’t look at him, knowing how soft he usually end up being when she compliments him. She turned to look at him.
“Are you serious about not wanting a girlfriend?”
Rafe turned to look at her, his eyebrows raised. His insides exclaimed happily, liking the way his words had struck her. He meant what he said, but that statement didn’t apply to (Y/N).
“Why?”
“Just asking,” she shrugged, and made a move to touch his cut. He hissed, feeling a sharp pain soaring in him, but she looked so peaceful trying to figure out his wound.
“You can kiss them to make them feel better,” he grinned, and watched as she groaned, trying to hide her face against the pillow. Rafe laughed, and turned the lamp beside him off, knowing that he shouldn’t push it and leave her be.
Just as he was about to drift into a peaceful sleep, he felt her soft lips against his, to which it was quick and gentle before she pulled away, giggling.
“4 years.”
“Huh?” (Y/N) questioned, still smiling from the kiss she just initiated a few seconds ago. She couldn’t contain herself; he looked so peaceful, so sweet, and so handsome. She didn’t know why she hadn’t kissed him sooner.
“I waited for that since 4 years ago.”
“Now you’re just pushing it, Rafe.”
Rafe grinned against the darkness, and felt his heart soaring. “Can we kiss again?”
“Tomorrow,” she stated, and Rafe laughed.
Tomorrrow. The next day. Next week.
He didn’t care - as long as he will finally have her by his side.

“Come on, Bucky! I know you’re in there!”
You hit your fist on the door again. Perhaps you would have been more mindful of the the hour, but you’d heard glass shattering as you raced up the stairway just moments ago. You’d heard him shouting himself hoarse and heavy footsteps as he paced inside his apartment. You’d heard the cracks in his voice – the consumption of grief and fury and shame swallowing him whole.
One of Bucky’s neighbors had rung Sam the first time Bucky’s screams could be heard through the thin apartment walls. It was the fifth time in as many nights and Sam promised Bucky would get it under control before they went to the landlord with noise complaints. He made no such promises that he would be the one to do it.
An elderly woman in a nightgown peeped her head out into the hallway, scowling at you as you continued pounding on the door. Her beady eyes narrowed and you only spared her a moment’s glance before you returned to the door.
“I’ll wake up the whole building! I swear to—”
The door was pulled from under your fist. In its frame, stood a ghostly version of the man you knew. Dark circles hung heavy under his eyes. His hair was disheveled, blood dripped from a cut in his palm. Behind him, furniture was turned on its side, glass on the floor, magazines and unopened mail littering every surface. He'd torn his place apart.
“What are you doing here?”
You swallowed, forcing your voice stronger than you felt. “Sam called me.”
Bucky’s grip on the doorknob tightened. “Of course, he did.”
He paused only for a moment before he turned his back to you and walked inside the apartment. The door was left open in his wake and you took it as permission to enter.
Cautiously, you took your first steps into his apartment. You tried to ignore the dust lining the curtains and the fleeting thought wondering when the last time he’d allowed the sun to touch his skin. The latch clicked behind you and you winced at the intrusion to the silence.
Bucky meanwhile was staring out into the mess of his living room. His gaze rested on the couch turned on its side, then to the box of trinkets spilled on the floor by the mantel, then the broken glass by the window. His shoulders sagged; his expression unreadable. Slowly, he knelt down to the edge of the couch to flip it back on its legs.
You watched him carefully, not uttering a word or daring to move closer until he finished. Once the couch was right side up again, he exhaled a tired breath and leaned against the edge. Exhaustion flickering through his eyes, though you suspected it had little to do with the exertion of moving furniture.
As Bucky moved to throw the cushions back to the frame, you realized suddenly how he was dressed. Plaid blue pajama pants hung low on his waist. Bare feet prodding over hardwood floors too close to where broken shards of glass waited. His chest was exposed; skin glazed in the dim glow of moonlight as it peered through the small slit between the curtains.
You could see his shoulder blades move along his back as he tensed. The lines of his spine and the dips along his hipbones. When he turned to face you again, your eyes were drawn to his shoulder and the frayed mess of scar tissue and burns. It was mesmerizing, the intricate patterns and the markings on his skin. Pink and red and faded with time. You wondered if it still hurt, if he could feel the nerve endings there or—
Your gaze flickered back to Bucky’s. He was watching you, barely taking a breath. So vulnerable as he stood in front of you and he had no time to prepare for it. He probably didn’t realize how exposed he was until he noticed you staring. You’d imposed on his home, on his space. He couldn’t have known he’d be confronted with this tonight.
All the effort it took for him to simply remove his jacket and now he was left standing before you without a single layer to protect him.
You could see the doubt swimming behind his eyes. No matter how hard he tried to pretend like this connection between you was something he could easily push away, like he could let go of it without much of a second thought or a single word in his own defense, you could tell he was ripping himself apart at the seams, wondering whether you found him as repulsive as he saw himself to be.
He shook his head, his features hardening over again. He gripped at the side of the couch until his knuckles turned white.
“You should go home,” he said, breaking the silence. His voice was thick as gravel. “Sam shouldn’t have bothered you.”
“Shouldn’t have—?” You scoffed, stunned. “Bucky, look at this place!”
“I’m fine,” he replied flatly and you almost laughed if it weren’t for the deadpanned look upon his face.
“You’re clearly not fine!” You dared to take a step closer, aching to remind him of the lightness he carried weeks earlier, only for him to retreat. He rejected the contact on instinct – a flinch throughout his whole body. Your heart clenched as if a hand had slipped in past your ribs and squeezed until it burst.
Your breath was tight in your lungs as you tried again, a little softer this time, “you’re not fine, Bucky. You’ve kept yourself held up – alone – in this apartment for days on end. You’re pushing away the people who care about you. You’re not sleeping. You... You look like you’ve been through hell.”
Bucky’s jaw was clenched so tight, you wondered if it might shatter. His gaze was unfocused, staring down at the floor by your feet.
“You don’t have to put yourself thought this,” you eased, though the tension would not fade from his muscles. They remained locked as stone. You inched forward, a hand extending to him, an anchor to ground him. “Bucky, please... let me help you.”
Something snapped – as sudden as a rubber band pulled taunt until its breaking point – and Bucky’s cold eyes met yours.
"There is NO helping me!” he roared, startling you enough to flinched back a few paces, your hand curling back against your chest protectively. He curled his shaking hand to a fist. “I can't escape this shit! Even when I thought I could—when things were finally bearable again and I had a reason to get out of bed in the morning and I actually wanted to live through the fucking day— it all came back anyway! One word and I’m right back to where I started! I’m a fucking nightmare to be around! Don’t you get that?!”
His breaths were coming in ragged, too quick. His cheeks were flushed, his eyes red. He hit his knuckles against the edge of the couch, on the wooden frame under the spine. Bucky barely took in a full breath.
“I can’t keep my shit together and I’m -- I’m only going to hurt you, okay? You shouldn’t want anything to do with this. I—I mean, look around you!” He kicked at the glass near his exposed feet, angry tears burning on his cheeks. “This is what my life looks like! Is this—is this what you want for yourself? You really want to sign up for this? This—this fucking endless parade of night terrors and panic attacks and anxiety? Huh?”
He was brimming with pain. It was spilling over the surface and coating the floor. You were drowning in it and all you wanted to do was cross the room to him, to hold him, to soothe even an ounce of that suffering away because it would consume him whole if he let it.
Bucky’s right hand was shaking so badly, tremors wouldn’t cease even as he clenched his fist. His body betrayed the stone he etched into his features. It was crumbling under the weight.
“You really want to throw away your life for that? For me?” he spat as if the very idea itself carried venom in its implication, as if it were nothing more than a fool’s errand to spend a lifetime by his side, as if choosing him would be choosing to tie a noose around your neck.
You’d never seen the evidence of his self-loathing before—not in full view and smothering the man you adored. He was expecting you to recoil, to run, to fight and argue and ultimately accept that you could never love a man so broken. It was a reaction he could wait a century for and still never find even a glimpse of hesitancy on your features.
You steadied your breathing. Focused on the heart of the man standing in front of you, determined to push past the destructive fog he’d surrounded himself in. You took a step toward him, and this time, he did not run.
“You’re not going to scare me away, Bucky.”
Shame quickly spread through his body, replacing the threads of anger with something much crueler. His eyes fell to the floor, his chest rising unsteady and he stumbled back a few paces to give you space from the rage he wasn’t able to control. He looked about a decade younger as his features softened again, cowering back into the shadows.
“I’m not going anywhere,” you eased, daring another step.
Bucky shook his head, reflective lines along his cheeks. His lower lip was chewed raw.
“You don’t deserve this mess. You should—You should be with someone whole. Someone who can give you a better life than I can.” He could barely choke out the words.
“I don’t want someone else.” You took another step closer, determined to close the space between you. “I want you.”
The tips of your fingers brushed against Bucky’s hand and a shiver cast up his spine. His eyes were transfixed on your touch as you slowly encased his hand in your own, easing the tension through his body and crumbling the stones in his chest with a gentle slide of your thumb against his palm. He started to sink against it, his whole body caving in to the very thing he’d been keeping at an arm’s length. He was suffering withdrawal.
“You don’t know what I’ve done,” Bucky whimpered, tears slipping past his eyes as he shut them tight, as if he could cast away his demons if he were blind to their shadows over his shoulder.
You tugged gently on his hand, pulling him down to the couch. He followed you easily, his body moving of your accord as if he were made of clay. When you wrapped your arms around his shoulders, you felt the slight tremble along his spine, the shakiness in his bones. His head laid against your heartbeat, his right arm snaking around your waist in fear of letting go.
“I don’t need to know what happened. I don’t need the details,” you sighed against his ear. “I know you. I know you’re a good man, Bucky.”
Bucky was quiet for a minute. The silence hung thick in the air.
“What if I’m not?”
You tried to ignore the twist in your chest. “Oh honey, please don’t say that.”
“I lost eight people, Y/n,” he muttered out, holding onto you a little tighter. You could feel his heart pounding as you raked your fingers through his hair, hoping to ease him if only a little. “Eight of my unit. My friends. If I... If I had said something sooner... We were sitting ducks and... and...”
It was impossible to draw the pieces together. You couldn’t see the vivid image he held in his mind, but the details of that day weren’t necessary. He trusted you enough to outline the frame, to provide glimpses into the worst day of his life, even if they were messy and blurred. His body shook as he spoke, like maybe it was the first time he was saying the words aloud.
You ran your fingers along his spine, drawing patterns along his shoulder blades. He shivered.
The gentle glow of the moonlight caught the reflective edge of something on the floor. A medal. A Bronze Star. You pressed a kiss to his forehead, remembering what Natasha had told you about its merit for exceptional bravery.
“Were there any survivors?”
Bucky held his breath and slowly he nodded. “He was... He was just a kid when it happened. Peter. I think... I think if it wasn’t for him, I would have died out there. I would have given up. Woulda been easy enough. My arm would have bled out pretty quick and the sky... the sky was so beautiful that day. I don’t know why I remember that. Not a cloud for miles. It would have been a nice last thing to see, you know? I would have been okay with that. But Peter... Peter was so young and I... I wanted to bring him home.”
Tears were openly streaming down your face and you were thankful Bucky couldn’t see them as he laid against your chest. You tried to stifle the sob as it broke through. You kissed at his hairline again, holding him as tight as you could manage.
“You saved his life,” you stressed, hoping he might be able to hear it.
Bucky swallowed, tears brushing against the thin fabric of your t-shirt. “I lost eight others.”
“Yes, you did.” There was no disputing that. Eight lives had been lost and he was grieving his friends, his team, blaming himself for each life he didn’t save. His body tensed and you were mindful to draw pressured lines along his back to ease the rigidity there.
“You did everything you could, honey.”
Bucky shook his head. “No, I could have... I—I should have...”
“Some things are just outside of your control.”
“But I—”
“It wasn’t your fault.”
Bucky froze, the recognition present in his body as he slowly lifted his head from your chest. “That’s....” He blinked a few times. “That’s what Sam always said. Those exact words.”
You smiled, brushing the hair from his eyes. You wiped your thumb along his cheekbone, drawing away the tracks of tears on his face. “Sam’s a smart guy.”
Bucky searched your eyes and you could tell he was wondering how you’d come to know Sam’s mantras, how they’d become words you often repeated to yourself in your darkest moments, but he couldn’t quite find a way to ask. He pulled himself from your lap and propped himself up beside you, your hands intertwined. He squeezed it lightly and an aching smile pulled at your lips.
"Sam used to have to write it on paper for me,” you admitted at the bittersweet memory. “I couldn’t say it to myself and he figured if I could read it in his writing, maybe I’d believe it if it were coming from him. After a while I started to say them out loud and hearing it my own voice... I don’t know. Sam kind of tricked me into healing, I guess.”
You laughed under your breath and you felt Bucky ease slightly beside you. He squeezed your hand again, a silent reminder that he was there. You focused on the feel of his grip, the callouses on his palms and the warmth of his skin. Real and tangible. Your Bucky.
“Sometimes I think Sam’s the only reason I survived after I lost Riley.”
A slight pinch formed at Bucky’s brows, his eyes narrowing—a subtle sort of curiosity, though he waited patiently for you to continue. The silence didn’t seem to frighten him as much as he focused on you, his eyes darted to your lip as you dug in your teeth.
You hadn’t let yourself be vulnerable next to Bucky before, afraid to take away from his own suffering in favor of your own. But you had known pain of a different kind.
You knew what it was to crave comfort, to silently beg to be held. You knew how it felt to be rejected by a man too shattered to offer any piece of himself away without breaking apart entirely.
The way Bucky was watching you, even through the dark circles under his eyes, the exhaustion pulling him in... it settled the twists of nerves in your stomach. His thumb traced at the edges of your palms, gentle sweeps to ease the tension away. His back straightened, a determination returning to his features, a sense of belonging – of purpose – in his comfort of you.
“He was a pararescue in the Air Force,” you continued after a moment and a flash of realization crossed over Bucky’s features. You pressed out a sad sort of smile as you said, “you remind me of him a little.”
You thought of the t-shirt you’d lent Bucky the evening you’d gotten caught in the storm together, how it clung to his chest. Bucky’s shoulders where broader than Riley’s had been. It was slightly bigger on your frame the next night you wore it. The logo had faded with constant washing, the soft green of the fabric muted to a grey. You’d worn it to sleep nearly every night for weeks after Riley left for his final tour, longer after he’d been killed.
It was the most cherished thing you owned. Lending it to Bucky that night had taken a strength you hadn’t allowed for yourself in years. It brought back memories you’d left untouched and an ache in your chest you’d forgotten. But somewhere, under it all, it had released you.
Riley would have liked Bucky, you thought, might have considered him a friend. You hoped he wouldn’t mind being the bridge that allowed you to move onto a new sense of peace, a new comfort. Even in Riley’s darkest moments, he only ever wanted you to be happy. You desperately hoped he meant that.
“I loved him so much,” you told Bucky, your mouth feeling suddenly dry at the admission, “but the war had hurt him beyond the scars on his body. Most nights, he woke up screaming. I tried... I tried to comfort him, to ground him back to what was real, but Riley was always so stubborn. He insisted he was fine, as if I didn’t notice the dark circles under his eyes or that he started drinking coffee in the evening before bed. He never told me what happened. I know he wasn’t trying to hurt me, that he was just doing what he could to hold himself together, but... the truth was, I lost Riley long before the officers showed up at his parents’ house.”
Bucky nodded, watching you intently, though he didn’t say a word. You could feel his eyes on you as you kept your stare ahead, focusing on the imperfections laced into the brick of the fireplace across the room. You studied the curve of the cement, the nicks in the mantel, the divots of the stone. It was the first time you’d uttered Riley’s name in years.
“I know you think I can’t handle this stuff, that it’s too much for me, but this isn’t the first time I’ve been around someone with nightmares, Bucky, or panic attacks,” you said, memories flashing over Riley sinking to the floor with his hands pressed to his ears, tears streaming down his face, images of him turning his back on you and disappearing for days on end. You had hoped he’d open up in enough time, but he never did. He couldn’t, he’d said, or it would consume him whole. Even years later, you still wondered whether it was under the weight of his pain that he suffocated, not in the prospect of its release.
“Riley struggled after his first tour,” you continued, a lump burning in your throat. “He... He came back different. He couldn’t adjust to civilian life. I could tell from the second he got home that he was itching to go back. Despite all the pain he endured, all the nightmares and the guilt, all he wanted to do was go back.”
You glanced over at Bucky to find his jaw clenched in understanding. It wasn’t an uncommon feeling, for soldiers who waited so tirelessly to be reunited with family and friends to feel isolated and insignificant when they returned home, to want to return to the one place they felt like they belonged.
“I tried to stop him,” you continued, wiping your eyes as unshed tears started to blur your vision. “I begged him to stay. He was out of his contract. He didn’t need to go back but...” You sighed. Bucky’s hand gripped yours and you drew on the ounce of strength he was offering. “The worst part was that he was better when he was over there. He was smiling again and laughing and making jokes like he used to. He was promising things for our future I hadn’t even allowed myself to consider before then. Being over there... it offered him something I never could and I was... I was glad for that. I was thankful he’d gone. I was... relieved. I’d missed him so much and I was just happy he was himself again, even if he was a world away, even if it broke my heart. Seeing him happy again... it was enough.”
You brushed at your eyes, the calloused touch of Bucky’s palm sliding along your jaw to gently wipe the wet from your cheek. His breathing was even again, the shakiness in his hands subsided. He waited for you to gather your thoughts again, not uttering a word in favor of the crickets chirping outside the window – unparalleled kindness in his patience.
You swallowed back the lump in your throat, urging yourself to continue. Your eyes met Bucky’s, finding comfort in the warm shades of blue and the encouraging glimpse of a smile that barely rose at the edges of his mouth.
“When Riley died, I blamed myself for a long time,” you said. “I told myself I could have stopped him from going back. I could have done more to convince him to stay, to get him the help he needed. I could have fought harder for him—for... for us. But Riley was his own person. He made his own choices and I couldn’t have done a damn thing to stand in his way. Sam helped convince me of that.”
Bucky’s face slacked. “That’s why you started volunteering at the VA.”
You nodded. “Sam and Riley were partners. They had some sort of pact to take care of the other’s family if something happened. Sam held up his side of the bargain whether I liked it or not. He dragged me to the open house that year and I haven’t left since. I do it for Riley, but... I don’t know... I think I do it for myself, too.”
You exhaled a heavy breath, turning away from the fireplace to face Bucky. His eyes weren’t as red as they had been, a frown no longer etched into his features. His gaze full, though heavy, and he watched you as if you carried the entire world in the palm of your hands.
“So, you have to understand... I can’t lose you to this war, too,” you choked out, squeezing at his hand to feel the firmness of it, to remind yourself that he was real and sitting right beside you and not an ocean away. “I won’t survive losing you, Bucky. I need you, okay? Please.”
He looked as though he was about to argue, but he quickly held his tongue as he watched the tears slip down over your cheeks. Reflective in the dim light from the window.
You took in a long breath, straightening your spine as you met his eye, your voice stronger than it had been since you started. “Not everyone comes home, but you did. You survived and you wandered into my life and somehow, you made me believe in love again. Even on your worst days, just being near you is the best part of mine.”
Bucky’s lips parted, a semblance of shock flashing over his eyes. You smiled at him through your tears, a hand sliding along the side of his cheek. He sighed against the touch of it, sinking into your embrace as if hadn’t ever expected to be held like that again. Your sweet Bucky, still so surprised that you could adore him as much as you did.
“So, I will take your nightmares and your panic attacks,” you told him, smiling through the trembling in your lips. “I’ll take your bad days and share the weight you carry on your shoulders. I’ll take every ounce of shame and self-loathing you have until the day comes you can hardly feel it at all. I’ll take the empty side streets with you and we’ll drive so far out into the country side we’ll never hear a firework again.”
Bucky chuckled at that, a smile pressing up along his cheek until you felt it under your palm.
“I will take anything you throw at me,” you sighed, your thumb brushing over his lips, “as long as you’re mine. As long as I’m yours. That’s all I want, Bucky. It’s all I ask. Just you.”
Bucky stared at you, a strange mixture of awe and disbelief on his features. You could see the hope burning behind his eyes, how badly he wanted to believe you, but doubt crept in and sunk its talons into his spine.
His smile sank. “You’ve... you’ve already been through so much. I don’t know if I’m worth all that.”
“You are.” You slid both hands along his cheeks, holding his gaze, until you leaned in closer, inch by inch, and pressed your lips to his forehead. Slow, lingering, you kissed his temples, his cheekbones, the tip of his nose, his jawline, pausing only when you found yourself a breath away from his lips.
“You are, Bucky,” you said again, brushing your thumbs along his cheeks and catching a tear in its path. He bowed his head, a slight trembling in his jawline. It took everything you had not to collapse into him.
“Honey, I promise you, it won’t always feel like this and I’ll convince you every day that you are enough, if you need me to,” you told him, your voice shaking as you held back tears. “I’m not going anywhere, okay? You’re not alone. Not now. Not ever again.”
You leaned forward to kiss the crown of his head and his whole body seemed to sink in response, lightening, as if he’d let go of a boulder strapped upon his shoulders. His muscles softened, the tension slipping from his spine, until slowly, he began to lift his head, hair parting away from his eyes. Though they were strained and red, a crystalized ocean current stared back at you.
You could feel the ease in his body taking over, a realization and a determination present in his stare, in his body.
His lips parted, a steady breath in. “I love you.”
***
It was the easiest thing he’d ever said; slipped from his lips as if the words had simply tumbled out on their own. Lost in how tenderly you touched him, how your hands never once left his body even as he held himself firm as stone, how you entrusted him with the most painful parts of yourself, how you gently coaxed him away from the shadows threatening to drag him back into a darkness he’d never recover from – he’d never been so certain of anything in his life.
“I love you,” he said again, just wanting to hear it one more time. His voice was stronger this time, steadier, and he could feel his cheeks curving up into a smile. It ached from disuse, but it was a pleasant feeling. A kind one.
He slipped his hand to rest on yours as it laid against his face and gently pulled it back just enough to kiss at your palm. It wasn’t often he found you at a loss for words, but it he didn’t mind the silence, not like he did before. He could still hear the slight hitch of surprise in your breath, the nervous laughter carrying in your exhale. You were smiling so wide, he wondered if it were even possible to love you more than he did in that moment.
“Really?”
God, you were so beautiful when you looked at him like that. Starry eyed and so full of hope.
He nodded. “Yeah. I do.”
You kissed him then, full on his mouth, arms thrown around his neck, and he had to stifle a laugh against your lips. He could feel the smile growing against him, laughing in between every kiss as the tears dried on your cheeks.
“I love you, too, Bucky,” you beamed, drawing him in to kiss him again.
He shouldn’t be surprised after all you’d said to him tonight, but it still fluttered in his chest, still caused butterflies to swarm in his stomach, still cast a blinding light deep into his heart that pushed out the remaining darkness lingering behind. His arm snaked around your back, holding you as tight against him as he could manage. He was breathless by the time you pulled away.
“Will you stay?” he asked, suddenly feeling nervous as his eyes flickered over to the bedroom door. “I know it’s a mess out here, but—”
Your lips were on his again and he swore he’d never talk again as long as you kept kissing him like that. Slowly, you began to stand from the couch, tugging him along with you. He pulled away from your lips just long enough to navigate his way to the bedroom, stepping over broken glass and the remnants of his nightmare on the living room floor.
His bedroom was untouched, at least. The sheets were thrown haphazardly off the bed, but other than that, it was pristine in comparison to the damage he’d done out there. A shame tried to work its way deep into his chest, but he felt your hand slip into his, carefully drawing him close to the bed, and it released him to your care.
His back bounced against the mattress in tune with the sweet sound of your laughter as you crawled over him. Thighs caging his hips, you straddled his waist and he looked up at you, certain he’d find a glimmering shine of a halo behind your head. The moonlight touched over your shoulders as you leaned down against him, kissing his lips.
He’d missed you so much. Those two weeks left him in a hole he couldn’t possibly dig himself out of on his own. He was scraping at the bottom, nails filled with dirt, digging himself deeper and deeper until he could no longer see the sunlight as it touched over the surface. It wasn’t until you jumped down into the pit with him that he noticed there were notches in a wall once perfectly smooth, allowing him to crawl his way back up to the top.
You leaned back a little, breathless, as your hands slid along his chest. It was the first time he’d been so exposed in front of you, the scars and burns on full display, and he was surprised that there was no hesitancy in your touch, no reluctance as you brushed your fingertips over the corners of the damage to his skin. But you paused, eyes flickering to him.
“Can I?”
Bucky sighed, his heart aching. You knew how difficult it was for him, for you to see this part of him. He hadn't even taken off his jacket once in the first few weeks of knowing you. But now, he nodded eagerly, wanting to feel the tenderness with which you handled him upon the broken remains of his left side.
Your hands slid up over his shoulder, brushing along the bumps and ridges in his skin. Hardened tissue and raised edges. The way you touched him, like he was something beautiful and adored, made his heart swell. It wasn’t until you leaned down to press a feathered kiss to his shoulder, just over the burn marks and the glimpse of what he’d lost, that he choked back tears.
“Is it too much?” you asked, noticing the trembling in his lower lip, but he quickly shook his head.
“It’s perfect,” he replied breathily, drawing you back to his lips. “You’re perfect. I don’t deserve—”
“Hush,” you warned, kissing him to cut him off, “don’t talk about the man I love like that. You deserve every ounce of love I can give you, you hear me?”
He stared at you for a moment, studying the sincerity on your features until the gravity of what you said sank in, and slowly, he nodded. It would take time to believe that, but he hoped the more you said it, the easier it would come. He’d believe just about anything if it came from your voice.
“Let me show you.”
Bucky stilled; his throat suddenly dry.
“Let me show you, Bucky,” you asked again, your lips against his neck. He shivered. You sucked at his skin, drawing a map along his collarbone. You tongue licked at the indent by his neck. “Please.”
When you met his eyes again, Bucky wondered if maybe you saw him with the same wonder and enchantment with which he saw you. It only took the slight tilt of a nod before you crossed your arms over your waist and slowly pulled your shirt up over your head. Your bra came next and Bucky shifted uncomfortably, realizing you were still straddling him, his hardening length prominent against your thigh.
He stared up at you, studying over the curves of your breasts, the dips in your hips, untouched and exposed – so incredibly beautiful.
He stopped himself as the thought entered his mind, the wondering whether he deserved such beauty in his life, wondering how he’d managed to trick the cruel twist of karma to allow him to love a woman like this – to love you like this.
He cast away the doubt, forcing it back to the shadows where it belonged. It was easier to do that when you smiled at him like that, like he was truly worth something.
You laid down against his chest as his hand slid up along your spine, feeling for the slight dip in your back and the goosebumps following in his wake. You shivered under his touch and for the first time, Bucky remembered what it felt like to be wanted.
He couldn’t stop kissing you, even as your hands slipped to his waistband. It was like you breathed new life back into him; reviving him with every touch.
He helped you push down the band of his pants until you could easily drag it down his legs and drop it to the floor by his bed. It had been a long time since he was so vulnerable in front of a woman, but he didn’t mind when you looked at him the way you did. There was no ounce of judgement in your eyes, no cautious glance to his shoulder and the absence there. There was only love.
You slipped the remaining clothes from your body and Bucky held his breath as you climbed over him again, straddling his waist, bare.
Bucky was trembling as he reached for the drawer at his bedside. Blindly digging around for a box in the back of the drawer, he felt for the edge of foil wrapping. He brought it to his teeth, careful to rip the packaging, though as he held it in one hand, he let out a heavy sigh.
“Would you...?” he asked, a blush creeping up into his cheeks.
He didn’t know why he was so embarrassed, given that you were both naked, but this was one of those things he couldn’t do for himself. It would have felt emasculating if it weren’t for how eagerly you nodded and how good it felt as you placed the condom on his tip and slowly rolled it down his base. He closed his eyes, sinking back into the pillow at the feeling, wondering how he was going to survive this.
“You alright there, honey?” you called, giggling under your breath and, damn, if it wasn’t the sweetest sound he’d ever heard.
“I won’t last long,” he admitted, his hand sliding up along your waist, thumb brushing over your breast. He tried to catch the whimper as it left his lips to no avail.
You smirked. “I think we’ve waited long enough. Don’t you think?”
You sank down on him and he choked back a moan, embarrassingly loud, but it only seemed to spur you on as you rolled your hips, giving him little time to adjust. You were so tight, squeezing around him, and – holy shit – when you dragged yourself against him, using him as you sought out the angle you were looking for, he’d never felt anything like it.
He held his breath, focusing on the ceiling as he listened to the sweet sounds you made as your hands curled against his chest, hair falling down into your face. He knew he wouldn’t last as long as he wanted— hell, he would have stayed in you like this for hours if he could have – and it was taking near everything he had to hold out long enough for you to finish.
Thankfully, you were just as riled up as he was – high on missing him, aching in the distance – and Bucky gasped as he felt your walls clench around him with the rushed circles between your legs. You picked up in pace and Bucky found himself meeting you half way, thrusting up into you as he braced himself on the headboard.
“Oh God – Bucky,” you whimpered, your chest falling down to his, unable to hold yourself up. He kissed your neck, his hand sliding from around the wooden of the baseboard to grip your hips.
If he could, he would have had a hand on your breast, teasing at the nipple, the other sliding down to the space between your bodies, rubbing circles on the nerves that left you so breathless you could hardly hold yourself up. But he was learning again, getting used to his body and his limits, and all he could focus on was holding you, guiding your hips, giving him leverage to fill you whole.
Judging from the sounds you were making, your body molding like puddy against him, you didn’t mind at all.
“I’m close,” you gasped, breath hot against his neck. “Ah, God, Bucky... I’m-- I’m--”
He could feel it before the words left your lips, the clench in your walls, the spasms in your muscles that left you weak against him, overstimulated as you pulled your hand away from your clit. Your cries gave him the permission he needed to let go, only a few more thrusts was all it took, and he shuttered as he came.
Breathless, hardly able to control the laugh as it bubbled in his chest, Bucky could hardly believe that he started this night in the darkest place he’d been in months, only to end up lying here with you, so full of light and love he could hardly stand it.
He didn’t let you go at first, just wanting to hold you a little longer. He felt the sweet touch of your lips as they trailed along his neck, smile brimming against his ear. Then slowly, you rolled off of him, gently removing the condom and tossing it to the bin. A shiver slipped up his spine at the touch.
“I’m sorry I pushed you away,” Bucky confessed as you laid against his chest, curling up to his side. He pressed a kiss to the crown of your head. “Don’t let me do that again, okay? I can’t stand to go another day without you.”
You smiled against his chest, your fingers tracing along the lines on his shoulder, touching over old scars and burns. You traced them as if they were simply lines on his body, just another piece of him worth loving, worth memorizing. He wondered if the next time he saw them in the mirror, he might remember this moment and see them for something more than the evidence of his loss that day. Maybe, he might see them the way you did – as evidence of his survival.
“I love you,” you sighed and Bucky felt his heart swell; it grew and expanded so wide inside his chest, he wondered if his bones might bend to make room as it split him so lovely at the seams.
“I love you, too.” He curled his arm tighter around your shoulders, drawing you close to his side. Over your shoulder, a cast of moonlight seeped in through the windows, touching over your skin, illuminating the room in a gentle glow. He closed his eyes as sleep drew him near, comforted by the patterns you drew against his shoulder.
When he fell asleep, he fell willingly – protected in your embrace, safe, from the nightmares laying in wake.

“I’ll be back before you know it, doll, don’t worry. I’ll call you and text you nonstop, okay?” Bucky reassured, pecking your lips between each word of his. You pulled further away from him and laughed. “Yeah, yeah. Where are you going, again?” you asked, hating yourself for forgetting so easily. It was almost like he never even told you. “That bachelor party, remember? For my friend Sam?” he repeated, almost as if he had told you billions of times before.
Truth be told, you didn’t remember.
“Oh, that’s right! Okay, baby, have a good trip and stay safe. Tell your friend Sam I said congratulations––wait, you have a friend named Sam?” you questioned, not knowing of this friend. You may have been quite forgetful but you didn’t recall him speaking of any friend by the name of Sam. “Yep, but I don’t talk about him too much,” Bucky informed, and you tilted your head. You opened your mouth to ask him another question, but he checked the time on his wrist before sharply inhaling.
“Gotta go now, doll, don’t want to be too late,” he told you, kissing you once more. “Love you, bye!” he shouted as he closed the door behind him. “Bye!” you called back, and you were left all by yourself in his home. He already gave you a tour a week ago, the day after he spoke to you about your nightmare. You never slept after that, but it wasn’t shocking. That kiss was everything you could’ve ever dreamt of.
You felt like Sleeping Beauty, finally getting that kiss from Prince Charming that you needed so badly. You sighed with a half-smile on your face, and you could already feel boredom settling into your bones. With Bucky, every second of the day was filled with fun. Whether it be through stupid conversations or through needless movie commentary. You hadn’t written in all that time, and it was just a tad bit upsetting for you.
Your notebook was untouched, and so was your nice fountain pen along with your computer. It wasn’t like you had writer’s block, and it wasn’t like you had no motivation to finish your first chapter… No, wait, it was exactly like that. Every time you thought of your story, you’d have to stifle a loud, loud groan that would be savoured for when you stub your toe or when you’d accidentally burn your hand on the stove.
You didn’t resent your story. It just felt like a burden at that point in your life. But with nothing else to do other than writing, you felt oh so pained. Not physical pain, no, just the kind that would be a burden. You were sure that the floorboards were tired of feeling your feet stomp on them throughout most days. Sometimes, you’d sit on the stairs and hum to yourself—some sort of random rhythm that you would then mess up and forget about.
“What to do, what to do, what to do…” you whispered to yourself, hooking your thumbs through the loops of your jeans. If it weren’t for Bucky and his easily distracted behaviour, you could’ve had a belt there. But mistakes were made, and even though you offered to help, you officially knew then that Bucky never wanted you in his basement. Not in the past, not in the present, and definitely not in the future.
You joked around, saying that he just has dead bodies buried behind the shelves that were covered in cobwebs. But his forced chuckle had you apologizing quickly, and he told you to go drink some water and throw out your energy drink. You did exactly that, and he was back to his happy self. Spewing stupid puns like hilarity was his college major, with a big silly grin on his face.
Steve was always stoic, so maybe that was why you weren’t used to the almost overwhelming (yet lovely) company of Bucky.
Though Bucky spoke most hours of the day, you never heard of this man named ‘Sam.’ You had hung onto every single word of Bucky’s whenever he spoke to you. Even if he was repeating himself most of the time, you still made sure to listen to everything. He had never spoken about his friend to you, ever. As a matter of fact, you didn’t know much about him personally. You knew bits and pieces about his life as a soldier, but you didn’t know anything else.
He had no family pictures, no childhood stories, no generation-old recipes, nothing. Absolutely nothing. It weirded you out because he knew every bit about you. Even things that you’d never tell your mother, even if you had to. You didn’t even know about any past girlfriends of his… Except for one. He’d call her by the name of ‘Natalia’ but only when cursing or spewing out on the grave swears that could have someone rolling even if they didn’t decay yet.
Only a man with something to hide wouldn’t tell you anything about him, right? Because that was what Steve did, and he had one too many things hidden from you.
You spun around, making a full beeline for the stairs that didn’t creak under your feet (unlike your staircase). You envied Bucky for that, but you also envied him for more practical, more reasonable things. Such as the way he just couldn’t fall for pranks easily or the way he’d get something right almost all the time. You gripped the railing tightly, careful not to fall as you were climbing up the steps as quickly as you could.
Cardio wasn’t really your thing, not then, at least. You preferred simple stretches and long walks. Maybe the occasional weight lifting, but your little coloured dumbbells never did much. You were faced with the first bedroom at the top of the stairs. It was a guest bedroom, and he told you that it was pointless to go inside and clean it. At the time, it made sense. But maybe he was just trying to avoid having you go in there and see something you shouldn’t have seen.
You exhaled shakily and pushed the door open. You were met with a gust of cool air only because the window was left open. Bucky did that a lot, only because his home would become predominantly more humid than usual. You didn’t search the drawers or anything else in that room as well as the other guest bedrooms because you knew you’d find nothing in there.
There was only one bedroom left to check, the one that you and Bucky shared. It was a work in progress. Not in the sense that you were renovating or something along those lines. It was a bit… bland, to say the least. Not one piece of that room felt like home. You asked Bucky if he had any mementos or paintings to keep, but he shook his head and walked out. He wasn’t a very personal man, and it had more flaws than perfections.
You turned the doorknob and walked inside, taking in the notes of that vanilla body spray that Bucky loved so much and the lingering scent of his aftershave. You went to his bed and lifted the fluffy mattress up. Nothing. You gently placed it back down, hoping that your muscles wouldn’t give out. You opened up some of the bedside drawers, and you even peaked underneath them. Nothing. You let out a groan that was also a sigh of relief.
You weren’t sure if you wanted to find something bad or if you wanted to find nothing at all.
You slowly brought yourself up to your feet. You strode a few steps over to the closet and slid the mirror door to the other side. Half of the closet was filled with your clothes, and the other half was filled with his clothes. He had more leather jackets and sweaters than anything. Steve had the opposite of that problem. The blond hero loved his white tank tops and his white t-shirts. The dryer would constantly shrink them, and you could never complain about that.
Neither could Natasha.
You ran your hands between all the pockets and fabric in your closet, but you didn’t find anything. You snapped your hands back, bringing some hangers down to the ground. “Fuck,” you gritted out, looking down at the mess. You wordlessly kept staring at it, all while flailing your arm around to find the door. You grabbed it and slid it close. You had more pressing matters to deal with.
You didn’t check the dresser because you’d know if Bucky ever touched it. Your next best bet was to check the bathroom, even if it might’ve been fruitless. You searched the cupboards underneath and above the sink. Still, you only found freshly purchased products that you would find yourself stocking up on at least once a month—pads, tampons, shampoo, conditioner, razors, and everything else you needed, not him. Nothing there belonged to Bucky.
You once again didn’t know whether you should be elated or frustrated.
You dragged yourself out of the bathroom and out of the bedroom. You wore a pout on your face, resembling a little spoiled kid in a candy shop. In the hallway, you were at a crossroads. “Goddammit,” you groaned, squeezing your hands into fists. You walked down the stairs, not even bothering to hold onto the railing or the wall. You always loved to run your hand against the wall, especially when you were descending down the stairs.
You knew that he was too smart to hide anything in the living room and the kitchen. You felt like you were losing your mind. Even though you couldn’t find anything, you knew Bucky was hiding something from you. It was the same gut feeling that you had when you were with Steve. You listened to it, and you were right. Therefore, you believed that you were right about Bucky being secretive.
You stood at the bottom of the stairs, with your hands on your hips and your bottom lip between your teeth. You didn’t know where else to check. The garden seemed idiotic, and none of Bucky’s floorboards creaked in a peculiar manner. No can or jar in his cabinets looked off, and his shelves didn’t seem like they could move. His stack of books about the human mind didn’t seem fake either.
You spun in a circle, and so did your mind. Everything merged into a colourful blur, and you nearly missed the large splash of white that suddenly intruded into your vision. You stopped moving and looked over just to see the door to the basement. The door was never opened, even when Bucky was downstairs doing the laundry. You smiled to yourself. It was perfect, and it made so much sense for him to hide something in there.
The airport was loud. Families and couples yelling at each other and the sound of suitcase wheels against the floor. A lovely voice came on the intercom, announcing a flight that was departing. From New York to some city in Arizona. In Bucky's hands were his passport, his ticket, and his backpack. Bucky wasn’t sitting in one of those enormously uncomfortable chairs that everyone else was.
He was meters away from the waiting area, contemplating whether the trip was a good idea or not. He didn’t need to be plagued with guilt by what happened to Natalia. He was doing much better now that she was gone. The gothic house probably needed to be cleared of cobwebs and creepy crawlers, but he could’ve just hired someone for that. The only reason why he was contemplating his trip was because of you.
You seemed to eat up every lie he spewed since he met you, but you didn’t appear to buy his cover-up for the flight. Bucky never felt bad about lying to you because you needed to be protected. You were bawling in your bedroom about your job, taking insults from your mother and getting carelessly drunk with a stranger just before he thoroughly swept in on his white horse. You needed him; you always did.
Bucky knew that you’d let your paranoia and suspicions get the best of you. He was glad you allowed that to happen with Steve, but he wasn’t going to let it fly when it came down to himself. “Fuck,” he grumbled before turning on his heels and making his way out of the area and out of the airport. He had to protect you from the harsh truth, only because he’s your knight in shining armour.
You didn’t grab ahold of the railing because it was made of wood. Splinters were the worst; you simply just loathed them like anybody else. You placed your hand against the wall for support and tried your hardest to not make too much noise. Basements always gave you the creeps. The air in the room was thick and heavy, week-old vapour stuck in there, and you wondered how the wood hadn’t begun to rot yet.
Your fingers clashed with what seemed to feel like a light switch. You were at the bottom of the stairs, an old carpet resting beneath your feet to protect you from the cold floor. Your nose was filled with the scent of different detergents and softeners that Bucky would use. Against the wall were the washing machine and the dryer. Next to the dryer was a small, worn-down sink. It was clearly stained and dirty, and you wondered how old the house was.
In the corner was a little wire deck shelf. On it were boxes and many other random objects. You managed to push yourself into the small space that was between the washing machine and the rack. You grabbed the first and the only box on the highest level, surprised that it was lighter than it seemed. You looked inside, only to find old leather gloves and a first aid kit. The white of the kit had a bit of dried blood on it, and the gloves were creased.
You grimaced, but you figured that they were from before he retired. You put the box back and reached for the other one that was two levels down from the top. It was much heavier than the previous one, and you were scared that you would drop it. You peered into the box and found a sleek black gun. Your eyes widened, and you nearly let go of the six faces of cardboard.
But it also made sense for him to own a gun. You didn’t want to think of the possible reasons to scare yourself, so you pretended as if you didn’t see it and put it back. The rest of the shelf just had little old objects that seemed like they came from a thrift store or a pawn shop. One was a small porcelain deer in a pink skirt with glitter on its spots. It made you smile; of course, Bucky would have something like that. The deer’s bright doe eyes looked up at you, but they seemed more sad than anything else.
Though you marvelled at the statue at first, it eventually made you feel uneasy. You tore your eyes away from it and slowly made your way out of the cramped space. You didn’t know where else to look, and your gut feeling didn’t seem to go away. Though the lightbulb was turned on, the room was still dark. The area next to the staircase was particularly shadowed, and your stomach dropped just a bit as you stared at it.
You swallowed thickly and nervously, but you were also elated at the fact that you finally found somewhere worthy of checking. You stepped into the darkness, and you pulled your phone out of the pocket of your jeans. You turned the flashlight feature on and shined the light throughout the space. The ground was barren, and so were the walls. Dust covered them, though.
You rested your off-hand against the side of the staircase, sighing to yourself before realizing that there was a space underneath the stairs. You bent down and shone the light there, moving it around to try and find something. When that was of no help, you stretched the hand that was on the stairs to try and feel for something, anything. Your digits brushed up against what felt like a shoebox. Your heart jumped, and you fumbled around trying to grab it.
You dragged the box out from the staircase while you bit your bottom lip. You sat down on the dirty floor, and you hesitated in opening up the box. You wondered if it was best to let sleeping dogs lie, to just ignore your intuition and to trust Bucky. But you knew better than that. You really did. Your shaky hand lifted the top of the box, and you set it down on the ground.
You pointed your flashlight inside the box, and you gasped loudly. It was filled to the top with different things that were oh so familiar. Maybe it was because they belonged to you. A pair of pink panties that you thought your washing machine ate was at the top. You took them out of the box just to find a few old notebooks of yours. You believed they were under your bed, but it seemed to be otherwise.
A few lipsticks and a hairbrush were there, too. You didn’t recall them being missing, and you certainly didn’t remember giving them to Bucky because you never did. You dug everything of yours out of the box. Polaroids, more panties, jewelry, polaroids of yourself and your body, as well as much more. At the bottom was a bunch of folded papers in a Ziploc bag.
You pushed the square slider at the top to open the bag, and you pulled out the papers. You opened them up just to be faced with a file detailing almost everything about you. There were pictures of you around your house, at work and doing other things. One was of you showering, and you felt sick to your stomach. You didn’t know whether you should cry, call someone, or be angry.
But what you did know was that you needed to get as far away from Bucky as possible. You quickly shoved everything back into the box, and you put the lid back on. You grabbed it and placed it under your arm before trying to stand up. You unlocked your phone and searched through the screen for the Phone app. You needed to call your mom, maybe ask her if you could stay with her for a bit. “Fuck, fuck, fuck,” you panicked, not being able to find her contact.
You turned around and managed to click on her name, and you began to make your way up the stairs. You clicked the call button and put the phone on speaker. You listened closely as it rang, and you waited for the ‘ringing’ to turn into a timer. But you didn’t look where you were going, which is why you let out a scream as you bumped into something. No, someone.
You looked up slowly, just to see Bucky staring at you. His face was filled with hurt, and you heard his metal arm whir as he clenched his fist. “Where do you think youre going, doll?” he asked innocently, smiling at you. “Uhm, I- I was just going to go eat lunch!” you lied to him. Your voice was shaky, and so was your entire body. You felt nauseous, and your legs felt as if they were going to give out.
“Good, I’m glad you’re going to eat lunch. It’s important to have all your meals, y’know. But do you really need to go through my things and steal, too?” Bucky questioned, taking a step towards you. “Please let me go, Bucky. I won’t tell anyone!” you promised, ready to sob and beg to him. He clicked his tongue and shook his head. “No can do, doll. Can’t let my best girl go,” he exasperatedly explained to you, almost as if you didn’t learn about his stalking ways.
His hand came up to your face, and he stroked your cheek. The metal felt weird against your sweating skin. He moved his hand down to your neck, and he suddenly wrapped his fingers around your throat. You dropped your phone and the box, and you wrapped your hands around his wrist. “Shh, it’s okay, you just need to take a quick break from reality. That’s all,” Bucky cooed, and you found yourself struggling to breathe. Your vision began to darken, and you eventually passed out in his arms.

(G)I-dle making up for slapping their s/o
Prequel
Miyeon
Tumblr media
Miyeon could have never guessed how hard it would be to give you time. She just wanted to be close to you again. But she wouldn’t allow herself to overstep your boundaries; not again. So, she tried her hardest not to impose herself on you, even though it was slowly killing her. Usually, you had always allowed her to wrap her arms around you, no matter what you were doing. Now, Miyeon didn’t really know what to do with herself when she was around you. The lighthearted conversations and bubbly laughter in your life had turned into suffocating silence and an excruciating atmosphere and Miyeon was starting to get anxious.
Several weeks had already passed since that disastrous night, but you were still punishing her with ignorance. Of course, Miyeon had known that her mistake needed time to heal, still, she hadn’t expected such agonizing repercussions. No matter how much space Miyeon gave you or how many gifts she bought you in an attempt to show her remorse, you didn’t allow her to get close again. And she began running out of ideas. Was there anything that she could do to make it all better? Or was it too late? Maybe if she were smarter or less selfish, she would have accepted her defeat and left you alone. But she just couldn’t. She didn’t want to live without you. So she had accepted your punishments patiently while desperately holding on to you and feeling how you drifted further and further away. Until she couldn’t take it anymore one night.
You were coming home from work, only acknowledging her with the typical head nod and Miyeon felt the crack in her heart reaching a depth that she just couldn’t ignore anymore. She needed to know if the deep divide between the two of you was conquerable or if you had already given up.
“Do you still love me?”
She blurted out while tears started to pool in her eyes and you stared at her in shock, apparently not having expected her sudden outburst.
“I will leave if you ask me to. But I don’t mind waiting for you as long as there is hope. I just need something to hold onto. I just need to know that you are still willing to fight for this relationship.”
Miyeon added with a shaky voice and you instantly avoided her gaze, making the tears in her eyes spill at last. Your silence was a sufficient answer, even if it wasn’t the one that she had wanted to hear. Although the two of you were only standing a few steps apart, the distance between you felt like an ocean again and Miyeon couldn’t bear it anymore. Abruptly, she turned on her heel to run to the bedroom. Just before she could slip out of your sight, however, your voice caused her to stop.
“I do.”
Confused, Miyeon turned around to look at you while trying to decrypt your equivocal words. When you noticed the confusion in her face, you cleared your throat and took a few steps closer to her.
“I do still love you.”
You clarified, causing Miyeon’s eyes to widen in shock.
“You do?”
She asked dumbfounded after already having accepted her defeat. Slowly, you nodded in response and at a blow, Miyeon felt like the darkness that had surrounded her the past weeks was lifted. Her heart began beating wildly in her chest and a wide smile lit up her face. She wanted nothing more than to run into your arms now, but she didn’t know whether you were ready for that yet. Insecurely, she looked at you while shifting her weight from one leg to the other until you eventually opened your arms.
“Come here.”
You chuckled and Miyeon didn’t need a second to dash forward. With full force she threw herself into your arms and hugged you so tightly that you needed to remind her that you had to breathe.
“I’m sorry. And I’m sorry that I created this mess in the first place. I swear that I will never hurt you again.”
She mumbled against your body, knowing that she would never do anything ever again to drive you away.
“I know.”
You replied before kissing the crown of her head, causing Miyeon to hum happily. This was the only way it was supposed to be.
Minnie
Tumblr media
Minnie stared at you at a loss for words. She couldn’t find the answer in your eyes like she had hoped to, but her hesitation was apparently all the answer that you needed. Tears shot into your eyes as you nodded in defeat and slowly pulled yourself to your feet. Minnie watched you with a heavy heart and another wave of guilt washed over her. Why did she only ever make you cry?
Maybe it would be for the better if she let you go...
Conflicted, you lingered for a moment, but when Minnie still couldn’t manage to give you the answer that you needed, you started to drag your feet to the front door. It was unbearable for Minnie to watch you leave. Every fiber in her body told her to block your way, but she forced herself to stay put. For your sake. You deserved a better girlfriend. Only after the front door had swallowed you, Minnie couldn’t hold herself back anymore. She abruptly leaped to her feet and rushed to the door. Her hand hovered above the doorknob as her desire to be with you and her guilt collided inside of her. No matter what she did, it felt wrong. In despair, she slid down the front door and sunk to the floor.
She just didn’t know what to do.
Her whole body hurt, causing the sound of her sobs to fill the quiet room. She felt how she got caught up in a downward spiral. She was in free fall into endless sadness until a strange sound suddenly caused her to freeze. Confused, Minnie’s head snapped up and she looked around. But even through her blurry eyes she could see that she was still the only person in the room. Where was this noise coming from? For a moment, Minnie halted her movements and listened carefully until she was able to make out the source and the location of the noise. It was the sound of sobs. Someone else was crying right on the other side of the door.
Minnie’s heart broke and before she even knew what she was doing, she found herself on her feet, tearing open the door. You were cowering on the floor just like she had a few seconds ago while crying bitterly. On autopilot, Minnie leaped forward and wrapped her arms around you.
“It’s ok, don’t cry. Please don’t cry, Y/N. I’m sorry.”
She cooed soothingly between some of her own sobs. For several minutes, the two of you just stayed in each other’s arms on the floor until your sobs didn’t echo through the hallway anymore. Hesitantly, Minnie leaned back to look at you and her fingers automatically stroked your cheeks to remove the last remainders of your tears.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. Please come back inside again. I was being stupid. I wanted to be selfless and let you go, but I can’t live without you. Please don’t go, I promise I will work on forgiving myself.”
She pleaded, having realized that the decision to let you go had been the worst that she had ever made.
“How would that be selfless, dummy? I don’t want to live without you either.”
You exclaimed with a smile tugging on your lips, causing Minnie to sigh in relief.
“So you’ll come back inside?”
She asked insecurely, but you instantly nodded.
“Yes. If you stop acting weird.”
You replied while giving her a scrutinizing look.
“I will. I promise.”
Minnie was quick to agree to your condition before pulling both of you to your feet and into the apartment again. Even if she hadn’t wanted to forgive herself initially, her desire to keep you in her life was still bigger. So she would do anything to make you happy again.
Soojin
Tumblr media
“Are you going to keep staring at me?”
You asked annoyed after the room had fallen silent for a while already but Soojin was still sitting right by your side. She just hadn’t been able to bring herself to walk away from you.
“I’m sorry.”
She whispered for the third time tonight and you groaned before turning to your back again. Expectantly, you looked at her, seemingly waiting for her to say more than just those three words. The same feeling of anxiety from earlier washed over Soojin and once more, she averted her gaze from you. What if she said the wrong thing? But she knew that she didn’t have the luxury to take her time with an answer now. You were looking more than just annoyed and if she wouldn’t be able to express her feelings right in this moment, there would be no hope for a reconciliation tonight.
“I’m sorry for everything. I should have taken your feelings seriously. I shouldn’t have slapped you. And I definitely also shouldn’t have run away. But I was just so ashamed of myself; I couldn’t bear to look into your eyes.”
Soojin sputtered before reluctantly looking at you. For a moment, you only stared at her, but then you inhaled deeply.
“I really can’t believe that you slapped me. And then you had the nerve to run away...”
You scoffed and Soojin felt how her shame hit her with full force again.
“I know. I can’t believe it either.”
She mumbled mortified while letting her head hang.
“Is this all that you wanted to tell me?”
You asked after both of you had been silent for a while and Soojin quickly shook her head.
“No! I also wanted to tell you what I should have told you earlier instead of slapping you. I’m sorry for not defending you in the restaurant. But that was not because I agreed in any way with what has been said. It’s just that sometimes I forget that you’re insecure about those things. Because you’re perfect to me in ever single way. So if I talk with my friends about you, I swear to god, it’s only to tell them how breathtaking, smart, kind, caring and thoughtful you are.”
She clarified, feeling how a part of the weight on her shoulders was suddenly lifted off. Maybe you would never be able to forgive her, but Soojin at least wanted you to know the truth behind her wrongdoing. She wouldn’t be able to live with herself knowing that you believed that she thought of you as anything less than perfect.
For a while, nothing but the faint noise of the refrigerator buzzing in the kitchen could be heard and Soojin contemplated what to do next. Would you allow her to sleep in the same bed as you? Should she sleep on the couch? Or would you even ask her to leave the apartment? Before she could come up with a plan, however, you cleared your throat and piped up again.
“I know that you would never make fun of me with your friends. I mean earlier my anger told me that it was a possibility. But even then, deep-down I knew that it wasn’t true. I just wanted to say something to hurt you.”
You admitted sheepishly and for the first time tonight a light smile tugged on Soojin’s lips.
“I’m glad that you know.”
She sighed in relief while finally daring to look into your eyes. She was still ashamed of her actions, yet it felt like the two of you had gotten one step closer to reconciliation.
“Maybe we can talk tomorrow about everything; calmly this time.”
You chuckled and Soojin quickly nodded in reply.
“I’d love to!”
She exclaimed a little too excited, causing you to laugh to yourself.
“Alright then. Try to get some sleep now.”
You smiled softly while pointing at her side of the bed and Soojin’s heart almost jumped out of her chest. Eagerly, she nodded in agreement before hastily discarding the flowers and getting ready for bed as if she suspected that you could change your mind any second. In record time, she found herself lying next to you although she neither dared to look at you nor to close her eyes. What if she woke up and you weren’t there anymore?
“Relax, Soojin. Everything’s going to be ok.”
You suddenly piped up as if you could read her thoughts and Soojin turned her head to the side. Your beautiful eyes radiated a sense of comfort and Soojin’s heartbeat calmed down at last. Everything would be ok again.
Soyeon
Tumblr media
Soyeon didn’t even need to think where to go after the door had slammed shut. Her feet automatically carried her to the company that gladly was in walking distance. She hoped that her studio could give her the comfort that she desperately needed. Maybe she could even put all this sadness into something useful and start working on the next album. To her dismay, however, Soyeon didn’t feel the usual itch in her fingers once she sat down in front of her desk and the pages of her notebook stayed completely empty. No matter which keys she pressed on the keyboard or what chords she strung together, everything sounded bland to her. For almost two hours Soyeon tried to write down at least a single line until she was left completely frustrated and simply threw herself on the couch in her studio. She couldn’t concentrate when her relationship -the most important thing in her life- was on the brink of ruin. All she wanted to do was to go home and make up. But she knew that she couldn’t do that. This had to happen on your terms, and you clearly had asked her to give you space. So she needed to abide by your request. Even if it meant that the group had to suffer from it.
After spending a night on a sofa and not sleeping a single second, Soyeon very groggily attended dance practice the next morning. Her members immediately figured out what was wrong and showed her sympathy, but her teachers, unfortunately, were less compassionate. The minutes seemed like hours and in between the angry looks by her teachers and the anxious glances on her phone to check for a sign of life from you, Soyeon felt like losing her mind. She had hoped that you would be willing to see her again today, but after an exhausting day at the company there still hadn’t popped up a notification from you on her screen.
“Relax, Y/N is going to reach out to you.”
Yuqi tried to cheer her up when all of them were grabbing their stuff to go home.
“I don’t think so. It’s over.”
Soyeon replied crestfallen, starting to accept the fact that she had managed to ruin what had been perfect in just one night.
Suddenly, however, the screen of her phone lit up, causing Soyeon’s breath to hitch in her throat. Frozen, she stared at her phone, too scared to get her hopes up. Maybe it was just one of their managers...or maybe it was a breakup text.
“Look at it!!”
Shuhua urged her while pressing the phone in Soyeon’s hand. Shakily, she lifted the device up and looked at the message.
Y/N: Will you be home for dinner?
She read out loud and her members instantly assured her that this was a good sign. Still, Soyeon didn’t want to impose herself on you and decided to leave it up to you.
Soyeon: If you want me to?
She replied before anxiously staring on the screen and waiting for your reply.
Y/N: ...
For an eternity, Soyeon watched these three dots dancing on her screen and with every second that passed, she felt more like losing it. Eventually, however, you decided to end her torture and transformed the three dots into one single word.
Y/N: Yes
Your answer was short, but it made Soyeon feel more than any poem probably could have ever managed. In lightning speed, she said goodbye to her members and rushed home to you. When she reached the front door to your apartment, she typed in the wrong door code three times out of nervousness before finally being able to bolt into the apartment.
“Y/N?”
Soyeon yelled breathlessly as soon as she was inside in need to quiet the part of her that was convinced that you were just messing with her and had already left. To her surprise, however, you stepped into her sight just a few seconds later, making her exhale shakily in relief.
“I ordered from our favorite place. I hope that’s ok.”
You piped up eventually after the two of you had awkwardly stared at each other for a while and Soyeon nodded eagerly.
“Yes! Perfect! We can do whatever you want.”
She replied although she wasn’t really referring to the food with her last sentence. Soyeon felt relieved that you were willing to see her, nevertheless, she wanted you to know that the two of you would proceed in your pace.
“What do you want though?”
You answered while defensively guarding yourself by crossing your arms. Soyeon hated this tension that extended between the two of you and made it so much harder to wear her heart on her sleeve, but she still wanted to try her best.
“I want to tell you how sorry I am and that I know that what I did yesterday is unforgivable. But I also want to tell you that it will never happen again and that I will work very hard to make this right again. If that is what you want too of course.”
Nervously, Soyeon glanced at you, once again waiting for you to end her torture. You, on the other hand, were completely calm and took your time contemplating her offer. Your gaze seemed to burn right through Soyeon’s skin, and she uncomfortably tugged on her clothes while awaiting your verdict.
“Well, I guess I haven’t been really fair yesterday either. So we might do better to just try to forget last night...”
You replied after an eternity, causing Soyeon’s heart to leap in her chest.
“Ok!”
She agreed relieved, not being able to hide a wide smile anymore. There was nothing that she would rather do than to forget last night. She just wanted to go back to where the two of you had left off and the fact that you felt the same was making her happier than anything else in her life before.
Yuqi
Tumblr media
“How could you have slapped me?”
You eventually broke the silence, but the disappointment in your voice made the awkward silence from before almost more desirable.
“I-I don’t know...”
Yuqi stammered in reply, because she truly couldn’t make sense of her behavior. She had never considered violence to be a solution for anything and hurting you was one of her scariest nightmares.
“You know the reason I started dating you was because I trusted you more than anyone else and because I felt safe around you.”
You sighed sadly and your choice of words caused Yuqi’s heart to tear in two. Trusted. Felt. Why were you talking in past tense? She needed you to know that tonight had just been a slip-up.
“And I really value that trust. Even if it didn’t seem like it tonight.”
Yuqi pleadingly looked at you, hoping that you were able to see her sincerity, but you were quick to avoid her gaze.
“I don’t know what to believe...”
You mumbled while massaging your temples as if this situation were causing you a headache, making Yuqi feel even worse about herself. She didn’t want you to martyr yourself like that because of her.
“I know and that’s ok! You don’t have to have everything figured out tonight. We can see how the next weeks will go. I swear that I will do everything to try to gain your trust back, but... if it doesn’t work out and you still feel uncomfortable, just say so and... I will leave.”
Yuqi’s last words felt like they were covered with thorns and only arduously left her throat. As much as she wanted to be a good person and give you the space to leave, only the thought of losing you made her feel nauseous. Nevertheless, she planned to stick to her offer and expectantly looked at you to agree to it. You still avoided her gaze, but after contemplating your options for a while, you eventually nodded in agreement. At a blow, Yuqi felt all the tension leaving her body and she almost sighed in relief. She knew though that she was nowhere near to celebrate. She still had to gain back your trust which had to be the most difficult task in the world. Yet, she felt hopeful. Your willingness to let her try to make it up to you showed her that at least some part of you still cared about this relationship.
“Thank you, Y/N. I really appreciate this, and I promise that I will not let your second chance go to waste.”
She exclaimed gratefully and you looked at her with a piercing gaze.
“You better not.”
You warned her, causing a cold shiver to run up and down Yuqi’s spine. Suddenly she was hyperaware of what she had to lose, and an uncomfortable, tingling sensation settled in her stomach. She really had to get this right.
“You have my word. Your trust has always been the most important thing to me and knowing that I have managed to break it will probably haunt me for the rest of my life.”
Yuqi admitted with regret and you nodded slightly as if you were satisfied with her answer before standing up.
“I think we’ve said everything that needed to be said. I’m going to bed now.”
You concluded while walking towards the bedroom. Yuqi, on the other hand, kept sitting on the couch, feeling like you hadn’t said everything that needed to be said because she had no idea where the two of you were standing right now. Was she allowed to follow you? Was she supposed to give you space tonight? Indecisively, she wriggled about on the couch for a while until she decided that she should rather be safe than sorry. Therefore, she only walked into the bedroom to grab her pillow and a blanket while feeling your gaze on her before returning to the living room again. With a slight pout on her face, she made her bed on the couch until your sudden voice almost startled her to death.
“Yuqi, I appreciate the gesture, but just come to bed. Otherwise, you’ll only have backpain tomorrow.”
You were standing in the doorframe to your bedroom with your arms crossed and Yuqi looked at you with wide eyes.
“Are you sure?”
She asked insecurely to make sure that this was really what you wanted.
“Yes. I mean you’re not allowed to cuddle, but I’ll survive having you in my bed.”
You replied and Yuqi couldn’t help but to smile a bit. This almost felt like the usual banter that you always had after a minor fight when you were still mad at her but weren’t able to hide your caring nature. Without hesitation Yuqi leaped to her feet and followed you into the bedroom with her blanket and pillow under her arms. All of a sudden she didn’t fell as anxious anymore as before. She was sure that if she only worked hard enough, she could remind you again of who she really was. The love that the two of you shared was one of a kind and Yuqi believed firmly that it was strong enough to overcome any obstacle.
Shuhua
Tumblr media
It had taken Shuhua almost all night to calm down again. Anxiously, she had walked in circles in the living room while tearing her hair in despair. How was she supposed to fix this? The look of betrayal in your eyes had burned into her brain, making her believe that the only way to gain back your trust was by building a time machine. As the sun began to rise, however, also the darkness inside of her started to fade and very slowly, she was able to think rationally again. There was no use in panicking; what was done was done. It was highly unlikely that someone would invent a time machine in time to fix this, so she had to try to clean the mess that she had created herself. Therefore, she called her members as soon as it was a somewhat acceptable time to disturb their morning to ask for their advice. All of them agreed that Shuhua was an idiot and that they would kill her if she didn’t manage to make it up to you. But all of them also agreed that the best way to gain your forgiveness was to talk to you when you were ready. Shuhua wanted to convince them that it would be best to persistently show you her remorse as soon as possible, but no one agreed with that. The members told her to let you set the pace and Shuhua very reluctantly gave in to their advice.
Still, she decided that it wouldn’t harm to ask you today whether you were already willing to talk. Equipped with your favorite snacks and a teddy bear, she drove to your best friend’s place because she was sure that you had sought sanctuary there. She figured that her guess had been right when she could hear agitated whispering behind the door after she had knocked three times. For a moment she was worried that you wouldn’t open the door, because she was able to hear the voices for quite some time, yet no one granted her access. Eventually the door swung open though and Shuhua found herself standing face to face with you.
“What do you want?”
You asked quite unenthusiastically and Shuhua physically felt hit by your words, causing her to take a step back. Never had you sounded so cold before, but she figured that she deserved that.
“I’m here to apologize and ask whether you’re willing to talk about everything with me.”
Shuhua tried to sound confident, but her voice more came out as a whisper. Your piercing gaze didn’t really help with her nervousness either, so instead of giving a great speech, Shuhua simply held out the teddy bear and the snacks to you. For a moment, you eyed the gifts before looking at her again.
“Do you think that can make up for everything?”
Defensively, you crossed your arms and suddenly Shuhua regretted having brought such cheesy gifts.
“No of course not. I just thought it would be rude to show up emptyhanded and I wanted to do something nice for you.”
She mumbled while quickly hiding her hands behind her back. Slowly, her nervousness turned into the anxiety again that she had already felt last night as her thoughts seemingly raced with 300 mph through her mind. She felt completely helpless and could not recall a single tip that her members had given her earlier.
“Didn’t you want to apologize?”
You asked eventually, causing Shuhua to snap her head up to look at you after simply having stared into a void for probably a whole minute. She didn’t know whether she was just imagining things now, but for some reason she felt like your gaze wasn’t quite as stern anymore. Your question didn’t sound snappish either, but more like you wanted to help her to regain her composure. Shuhua didn’t know whether she was persuading herself of those things because she was close to having a nervous breakdown, but either way, it helped. Slowly, her thoughts stopped hopscotching through her mind, and she felt somewhat confident to tell you what she had come here for.
“That’s right. I wanted to tell you how incredibly sorry I am for everything that has happened last night. I was wrong all along. And I can’t even tell you what has gotten into me to slap you. I want you to know that I feel terrible. I-I didn’t mean to hurt you. I-I would never purposely hurt you...I-“
Shuhua hadn’t even noticed that she had started crying until it became more and more difficult to speak and she could suddenly feel a sensation on her arm. To her surprise she realized that you had reached out to squeeze her arm comfortingly and she had never wanted to be pulled into your embrace more than right now.
“I know that it isn’t in your nature to solve things with violence. But you’ve still hurt me yesterday; more emotionally than physically though. And that’s going to take a while to heal.”
You stated and Shuhua nodded understandingly.
“What does that mean for us though?”
She asked, feeling like she would rather have you break up with her than not knowing what the two of you were.
“I think we should take things slow. I don’t want to break up with you, but I feel like we have some things to resolve before going back to where we were. This whole fight yesterday had to stem from somewhere...”
You replied, causing Shuhua to sigh in relief. She wouldn’t mind taking things slow for a while as long as she was still your girlfriend.
“Ok.”
She agreed and for the first time today, you smiled at her.
“Ok then, it’s settled. Go home now and buy some breakfast on your way. You look terrible- no offense. I’ll text you later.”
You chuckled, causing Shuhua to gasp before touching her face and realizing that it was all puffy. Sulkily, she pouted, but your cheeky expression also made her giggle silently. Maybe the two of you weren’t quite where you had left off yet, but maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing. Shuhua knew that she couldn’t let something like last night happen again- neither for your nor for her sake. So she needed some time to get to the bottom of it. Maybe she could even be a better girlfriend in the end and that’s all she really wanted: to make you happier than any other person on the planet.

01.30 am
It was late and you had to wake up early tomorrow for a potions exam but your mind was elsewhere. Tossing around in your bed the events of last night kept replaying in your head.
"Why can't you see– I love you Draco"
"No Y/N you don't love me– you love the idea of fixing me!" Draco shouted at you through his gritted teeth and locked jaw.
"You can't possibly think that's true..." You backed away from him as the tears in your eyes started to fall.
Fighting and fighting was all you've been doing with Draco. You knew what you signed up for when you got into a relationship with Draco, but you never thought it would get this bad. Every day you try to hold onto him, try to lend him your hand because God knows he needs it in times like this. After Draco got the mission from you-know-who, he has not been himself. Always sneaking away, only to come back to his dorm past midnight. You tried for so long to try to talk to him but he wasn't budging, and now, here you were. All you wanted to do was tell him he's not alone and that you love him but of course he would turn that on you, twisting it into something sick.
"Y/N we both know it's true, you come into my life when I'm at my lowest and you try too hard!" Draco continued to shout at your fragile state.
"Try too hard? Try too hard my arse Draco– This is what I get for caring about you?" You fought back at him not wanting to lose another fight to him.
"I didn't ask for you to care for me– You came to me all on your own trying to be little miss perfect, fixing the broken boy like last year's project! Well, guess what? You can leave now, there's the door Y/N!" Draco spat out at you when a single tear escaped from the corner of his eye.
Your body ran cold at his harsh words, you knew Draco didn't mean what he said but it still hurts like hell. You've been in his life since the very beginning, growing to love him through your years in Hogwarts. You knew he was hurting and it was hurting you more that you can't take the pain away from him, you love the boy so much to the point where you would sacrifice yourself in a heartbeat in exchange for his happiness.
"What happened to you? What happened to the boy who helped me ride my first broomstick, to the boy who stuck up for me when those Gryffindors cornered me, to the boy who took me to the Yule Ball–" You chocked out in between your streaming tears "What happened to the boy who I comforted in his home when it was invaded by death eaters? To the boy I've loved since the first year?" You really couldn't control the tears anymore, you had to get out of here before it gets worse.
You shook your head before gathering your book bag and robe, slowly making your way past Draco and to the door he pointed to behind him. You placed your hand onto the doorknob before turning in your place to see Draco's back.
"Please come back to me"
With that you were gone, tears run on Draco's pale face– realizing that he just drove you out of his life. Y/N, the last person to truly cared about him, the love of his life. Draco broke down with a scream throwing anything he could get his hands on.
On the other side of the door, you stood muffling your own tears as you hear him completely breaking. You wiped your face before forcing yourself to step away from the door and back into yours.
You took a deep breath as you stare up to the ceiling of your dorm. Your roommate was out for the night so it was even quieter, the thoughts in your head screaming at you. You decided that maybe a cold shower would help you sleep.
Before you could even move a muscle the doorknob started rattling, thinking it was your roommate to go get something you turned your body away from the door and closed your eyes, pretending to be asleep.
The door slowly creaked open and closed again. Footsteps started to approach your bed you could feel a shadow in front of you. The person in front of you stayed there for a moment before brushing a small strand of hair away from your face.
When the fingertips touched your face you already knew it was Draco, you didn't need to open your eyes to know Draco was touching you. Playing along you stayed still pretending to be asleep as Draco admired your figure wrapped around a thick blanket. Draco placed his hand on the side of your cheeks, stroking it lightly before softly letting out a few words.
"I'm so sorry"
"I didn't know why I did it but I didn't mean the things I said, I was just– angry, angry at myself for hurting you but angry at you for staying with me when I know someone else could make you much happier than I ever could" Draco softly said, still caressing your rosy cheek in the process.
"I have never loved anyone other than my family and I don't know how to process the feelings I have for you. This is for the best sweetheart, someday you'll find a guy who will treat you the way you deserve to be treated– like a princess. I'll be okay, as long as you're happy"
Draco whispered to you, as you felt a teardrop land on your cheek. Your heart aches, listening to him, listening to how he thinks someone else could make you happier. Little did he know that he was it for you, that he was the person you wanted to spend forever with.
He kissed your forehead lightly before cupping your face again. Goosebumps start to form on the back of your neck as he leaves little kisses on your face. Your head going dizzy, inhaling his scent that you love to drown yourself in.
"I love you Y/N"
Not wasting another second he pulled his hand away from your face and sniffled a little. The warmth from his hand leaving your cheeks, and then you heard his footsteps drifting away from you.
This was now or never if you don't tell him now you might never will. So with a determined mindset, you slowly sat up from your spot and turned around to see Draco opening the door of your dorm with his head hung low.
"Draco.."
He picked up his head and quickly turned on his feet to face you. His tear-stained face and his ruffled hair. He changed into a comfortable jumper along with sweatpants to keep him warm in the cold air. His eyes lit up when he noticed you were wearing his jumper, the very first jumper you stole from him in 4th year. He has told you many times to get rid of it as it was old but you never did, considering that it smells like him the most.
You eyed his figure in the dark before extending your arms out and made grabby hand gestures at him. He smiled softly before closing the door and walking towards your bed. He touched your hands keeping them in his for a while before closing the space between the two of you with a tight hug. You rested your head on his torso with your legs dangling off the bed on either side of him as he kissed your hair.
Draco finally let go of the hug just to kneel in front of you. He pouted when he saw your face with tears in the corner of your eyes and squeezed your thighs reassuringly. He took your hands and kissed your wrist before cupping your face to wipe your tears away.
"I don't want you to go..." You murmured down at him
His mouth fell into a straight line as he takes in the beautiful sight in front of him. His hands fell from your face to your hips, keeping them there and his head hung low too ashamed to look at his love.
"Nobody compares to you Draco– N-not even close.." You cooed lifting his head by cupping his face much as he did with yours just seconds ago.
His silver eyes were blown, looking up at you with all the adoration and love the world could possibly offer. He opened his mouth to say something but before the words could leave his mouth you closed your lips on his. He stayed still for a second surprised at your action before closing his eyes and returned the kiss. The kiss wasn't like the many kisses you shared before but rather a needy broken one. His lips were soft and tasted a bit salty from all the tears. Without breaking the kiss you guided him to stand and join you on the bed. You backed up until your head hit the soft cold pillow and Draco hovering above you with his arms on either side of you. The both of you finally pulled away in need of air as you admired the boy above you.
"Y/N wha-"
"Shush Draco," You said in your sweet voice looking into his eyes.
He smiled down at you before letting go and crushing you. You smiled at him as he snuggles into your neck, leaving a few open mouth kisses. You wrapped your arms around his shoulder and kissed the top of his head before playing with the ends of his hair.
"You will not speak such stupid words again Draco– I'm not going anywhere" You whispered to him as he picked his head up from the crook of your neck to look at you. "You do know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you right?" You cooed down to him as his eyes lit up once more.
"Do you mean that?" Draco asked slowly, wanting every word you're saying to be true.
"Mhm– After this pass, we can get out of here, get a house in the countryside with a big garden and maybe a pond. Then we can start a family, just the two of us– Unless you're not ready to start a family then we can wait as long as you want. Then we'll watch as the kids grow up and go into Hogwarts to start their own lives and then w–" You said as you imagined your life with Draco.
He looked up at you with a soft smile before interrupting you with a soft kiss on your lips. He smiled and chuckled into your lips as you do the same, the kiss ended up being a small laughing fit for the both of you.
"Darling I've never heard anything better" Draco cooed after you both calmed down.
You smiled at the boy in front of you and returned to your previous position with his head on the crook of your neck and your arms around his neck.
"I love you, darling"
"I love you too Draco"

Misunderstandings- Hisoka x reader
Back with another one of my angsty Hisoka oneshots! Except I was feeling generous and gave you guys a happy ending.
Warnings: Sex talk, heavy themes, angst, toxic Hisoka, swearing.
Word count: 840

^ sometimes, I forget to add the link to that and it's embarrassing lmakdnf

"I wonder how you taste, darling," Hisoka said, dragging his nail along the side of your face as his other hand gripped your hip.
You were frozen, unsure of what to do or say. Afraid that you'd somehow anger the man behind you.
"Aw, don't be shy, love. I've seen you a thousand times, I've touched every inch of your perfect body."
"If you've seen it a thousand times, why do you need to see it again?"
'Wow, nice one (y/n)'
Hisoka chuckled, pressing you further against the kitchen counter, "You humor me, darling."
You gripped the edge of the counter to the point your knuckles were turning white, "Don't you have a fight at Heaven's arena soon?"
"I do, but not for another hour," Hisoka responded, capturing your lips with his. "It leaves me just enough time to ravish your body, darling."
"It never hurts to show up early," you said, desperate to get him off of you.
It's not that you didn't like Hisoka, because god damn you loved him more than anything. It's the pain of waking up alone at 3 am, sore and wishing he stayed.
He pushed himself back, still caging you between him and the counter, but leaving enough space for him to get a good look at you.
"You're so desperate for me to leave," he said, eyes narrowing as he watched your every move. "Why is that?"
"I'm not des-"
"What? Do you want me to leave so you can bring another man over and fuck him? Is that it?" Hisoka said, cutting you off. "Am I not good enough for you?"
"No, Hiso-"
"Then what is it damn it!"
Hisoka slammed his hand down on your counter, breaking a plate and cutting his hand on it. But that didn't bother him.
You did.
You are the only person that is able to get him this riled up and angry over something he usually wouldn't even care about.
If one of his old fuck buddies had told him they were sleeping with other people, he would just say, "me too," and leave it at that.
But the thought of you having sex with someone that isn't him makes him want to break everything in sight and scream.
You could tell he was in deep thought. He may still be glaring at you right now, but the far away look was present in his eyes.
"Hisoka," you started, keeping your voice quiet and gentle. "You're bleeding."
You didn't answer his question, which to Hisoka it meant he was right.
God he has never wanted to be wrong more in his life than right now.
"I don't care," he said, stepping away from you fully.
"Let me take care of it for you."
He shook his head and walked out of the kitchen, "I have a fight in an hour. It doesn't hurt to show up early."
You sighed, "Damn it, Hisoka. Sit down right now so I can fix your hand."
He stopped walking, letting his hand rest on the doorknob, "I thought you wanted me gone so you could invite your other fuck buddy over."
"If you would have let me get one word out earlier when you were screaming, then maybe you would know what my actual problem is," you said, picking up tweezers. "Now sit down."
"And what if I don't? What if I just walk out this door and disappear for a month?" He responded, keeping his back to you.
You shrugged, "Wouldn't be the first time."
He dropped his hand from the doorknob and made his way over to the couch, "Fine, but make it quick."
Thankfully, the glass wasn't too deep and you were able to fix his hand in 10 minutes.
"What's his name."
Confused, you looked up to Hisoka, "Who?"
He rolled his eyes, "The other man."
"There is no other man, Hisoka. If you would have let me speak earlier you'd know that."
You couldn't explain the look on Hisoka's face. Perhaps it was a mix of sadness and relief.
"Then why? Why were you so desperate for me to leave earlier?"
You placed the tools you used on Hisoka back in their places, "Because it hurts."
"I hurt you?" Hisoka asked, confused. He doesn't remember a time where you told him to stop because of pain. If anything, you encouraged him to cause pain.
If he suspected you were in any kind of pain, he would have stopped immediately.
"Not that kind of pain," you said, knowing what he was thinking. "Emotional pain. It hurts to be left alone after such events. Every time I wish you would have stayed a little longer."
Hisoka was shocked, yet relieved.
The problem had an easy solution, and it was way better than you sleeping with someone else.
He still felt bad though.
"Why didn't you ever say anything?"
You looked down, this was not how you expected tonight to go. "I didn't think you'd care."
You heard Hisoka sigh, "I'm not heartless, you know."

SDR2 Boys React to You Flinching (Part Two)
Hajime, Kazuichi, and Izuru react to you thinking their going to hit you.
Hajime Hinata
Your boyfriend, Hajime Hinata, had visited you at your dorm in the Main Department building at Hope’s Peak Academy. What started out as a casual conversation quickly dissolved into a heated argument when Hajime started talking about how he needed to transfer out of the reserve department.
“Damnit, Y/N!” Hajime cursed. “Why can’t you see how important this is to me?”
“Hajime, please just listen to me,” you begged, trying to get him to see your side. “Talent isn’t everything!”
“That’s easy for you to say!” He exploded. His words increased the tension in the room tenfold, and you had a feeling things were about to get worse from here.
“And what’s that supposed to mean?” You asked, almost daring him to continue. He held your gaze, refusing to back down. The look in his eyes was so intense, it was almost hard to look at him.
“You’re an Ultimate!” He spat, as though it were an insult. “You have no idea what it’s like, not having talent…!”
You had never heard him this fired up before, and it was starting to worry you. He sounded so… resentful. The intensity of it all almost scared you.
“What, are you jealous of me?” You asked. “Hajime, you need to understand that there are more important things than having an Ultimate talent.”
“I’m not jealous! But you… you don’t even value your talent!” His voice shook as he shouted. “I-It was a dream for me! To have a talent I could take pride in! To walk through Hope’s Peak Academy as an Ultimate! You… don’t deserve to be an Ultimate!”
As he spat those last words, he threw his hand up in frustration. Acting on pure instinct, your entire body tensed and you squeezed your eyes shut in fear.
“Y/N…?” He called out to you. “You..You flinched…? Y/N, I would never-”
“Please…” Your words were so soft, he almost didn’t hear them. “Just go.”
“What?” He sighed. An overwhelming feeling of guilt ran over him as he noticed the tears welling up in your eyes.  “I-I can’t just leave you, I mean, you’re crying! I...I made you cry.”
Gently, he wrapped his arms around you. He held you tight as he whispered apologies in your ear.
Kazuichi Soda
When the argument started, you had been spending some time with your boyfriend, Kazuichi, in his room. He been acting so possessive all day, and when you finally asked him what’s wrong, he admitted that he was upset about how much you had been hanging out with a certain classmate of yours.
“Kaz, it’s not a big deal,” you insisted. “Just chill, alright?”
“How can I chill when my girl is spending all her time with some other guy?!” Kazuichi exclaimed, over-enthusiastic as always. “I swear, I’ll put him and his hamsters six feet under!”
“You need to calm down, Kaz.” You said. “Like I said, it’s not a big deal, we’re just friends.”
“Miss Y/N, you just don’t get it!” He said. “He’s a teenage boy, you know!”
“And what the hell is that supposed to mean?” You questioned, your face burning at his suggestive words.
“Well… you know… like, when a teenage boy looks at you, he’s only gonna be thinking about one thing!” He said, blushing as he spoke.
“Kazuichi, how can you say that?” You said. “Just because you’re a pervert doesn’t mean Gundham is!”
“H-Hey, why are you defending him?” Kazuichi asked. “I mean, c’mon, do you have a crush on him or something?!”
“You’re being irrational, Kaz.” You insisted. “He and I are just friends!”
“Oh, he’s your friend, is he?” Kazuichi scoffed, as he puffed his chest. “Well then, since the two of you are such good friends, maybe you just date him instead!”
“Fine.” You retorted, fed up with this stupid argument. “Maybe I will.”
You got up and started to storm out of the room. The moment your fingertips grazed the doorknob, you felt your hand get snatched back. Kazuichi let go of your hand as you turned to face him, and you watched as he leaned forward, placing his palm against the door, effectively pinning you against it while making sure it would stay shut.
“Kazuichi?” You gasped.
“Why are you being like this?!” He growled, his jealousy having reached new heights.
“Let me leave!” You yelled, the hint of desperation in your voice left unnoticed. He pulled his hand back off the door, but in your peripheral vision, you could have sworn his hand was going to strike you. Without thinking, you shut your eyes, hard, and let out a soft gasp. Kazuichi watched as you fell back against the door as you flinched.
Kazuichi had never felt more confused in his life. It took him a moment to even register what had happened. His eyes widened when all of the dots finally connected in his mind.
“Miss Y/N...did you think I was going to...ugh, I can’t even say it,” he paused for a moment before continuing. “I’d never hurt you, ever! Ya know that, don’t you?”
“I-I’m sorry, Kaz,” you apologized, but he quickly shook his head.
“No! I’m the one who should apologize, Miss Y/N! I got so worked up, just cause I was feeling jealous… so, it’s my fault! Please, forgive me!”
Kazuichi would continue to apologize, continuously, for the next several hours.
Izuru Kamakura
Your childhood friend, Hajime Hinata, was gone. In his place was someone different, someone whose entire existence confused you.
In a way, he could say the same thing about you. Everything about your existence confused him. Normally, he felt nothing but boredom and indifference. But when he met you for the first time…
“Hajime?!” You exclaimed, partially out of joy to see your old friend and partially out of shock at his appearance.
“No.” The man who stood before you replied calmly. “The one called Hinata Hajime is gone. I am Izuru Kamakura.”
“...huh?” You felt confused as you tried to understand.
“Did you know him?” Izuru asked, but he already knew the answer. He could tell by your tone, the sweetness in your voice as you had called out his old name. There was also the fact that when he looked at you, he felt… something. Something he had never felt before. Something he couldn’t identify. He realised quickly that whatever it was, it must be some leftover remnant of Hajime’s feelings.
This feeling… he thought to himself. I like it.
That was a while ago. You’ve been by his side ever since. He still found you boring, like everything else in this world, but from time to time you managed to surprise him.
Most of the time you spent together was spent in silence. Izuru always seemed to know what you were thinking anyways, so talking was mostly pointless; and whenever the two of you did talk, you were the one who started the conversation. But today, as the two of you walked side by side through the streets of Towa City, he spoke to you.
“Did you love him?” Izuru asked you.
“What?” You could feel his gaze trained on you, observing your every movement as he made deductions in his mind.
“Hajime.” He stated plainly, and for a second you swore you saw a flash of annoyance in his eyes. “Did you love him?”
“Did I...wait, what?” You mumbled, unable to think straight.
“Are you truly going to make me ask again?” His voice did not waver. “You really are dull.”
“I-I’m not dull!” You defended yourself. “That’s just.. I mean, why would you even ask something like that?!”
“I’m...curious.” He stated, his voice seemingly as calm as ever, and for the first time, he looked away from you. It was relieving to not have his eyes on you while you thought of a reply, but you couldn’t help but wonder what he was thinking.
“Curious?” You asked, but he said nothing back. Sighing, you decided to continue. “Yes. I...I loved him, I guess. He was my childhood friend...my best friend...how could I not?”
Still, Izuru said nothing. You looked to the side and noticed that Izuru was no longer next to you. He had stopped walking a few steps back. You turned around, and walked towards him until the two of you were standing face to face.
Sharply, he raised his hand. A gasp left your lips as you closed your eyes, bracing for an impact that never came. A moment passed and you opened your eyes; his hand was mere inches away from your face.
“Izuru…?” You asked. He had done it on purpose, you realized. “Why did you..?”
“You love him.” Izuru stated. “But, you fear me.”
“That’s not it…” You said, breathlessly. “I’m not afraid of you, Izuru.”
“You should be.”

pairing: Mark Lee x reader
summary: Dating Mark Lee was wonderful- until it wasn’t. You were fighting all the time and he hurt you with his words, but this time you had enough. You couldn’t let him hurt you and accept him back whenever he said that he was sorry. You were so sick of letting him hurt you, so sick of him talking about your relationship with others behind your back. He changed so much, you probably did too, but he wasn’t the person you fell in love with anymore.

Take away your things and go You can't take back what you said, I know I've heard it all before, at least a million times I'm not one to forget, you know
“Leave. Take all of your things and go.”
“No, baby, fuck. I didn’t mean-“ Mark stepped forward and you stepped backwards. It broke his heart. “What? You didn’t mean it? It’s not your first time saying that Mark. I’ve had enough. We’re going in circles, it needs to stop!”
It wasn’t the first time that Mark told you that he’s sick of you and that he wished that he never dated you in the first place.
“I love you, baby. Believe me, I was just angry and-“
“frustrated- I know, it’s always the same excuse Mark. I know that you don’t love me, so please, just leave. Find someone you love and who treats you better, apparently I’m not enough.”
“I do! I do love you! Just hear me out, please!” Mark was crying, you weren’t even crying.
“Why are you crying? I’m letting you go Mark, you don’t have to force yourself to stay with me anymore.” Your heart clenched, your hands formed to fists, nails dug into your soft skin.
“I love you…” he whispered, “I love you so much, please give me one last chance.” He begged. “Did you love me when you told Johnny that I was so annoying? Did you love me when you told Jaehyun that you’re sick of having sex with me, sick of me calling you and texting you? Sick of me asking you about your day and worrying about you? Did you love me when you told Mina, that we aren’t serious? How can you love me when we aren’t even serious?”
Mark looked defeated, “H-how did you-“
“Is that important? You talked to them every time I was with you, you wanted me to hear that. You want me to break up with you because you are a fucking coward.”
“I-I never wanted you to hear that- I just, I don’t know what to say, I’m so sorry, please. I’m begging you, give me one last chance. I love you. I really love you so much, I can’t do it without you. I need you in my life.” Mark wiped away his tears with his hands, but the tears were still rolling down his cheeks.
“I’ll never forget how you treated me, how much you hate me. You made me think it was my fault- that I was the one who destroyed this relationship, but it wasn’t me. It was you, and now, take your things and go. We’re done.” You didn’t allow the tears to fall until you entered the bathroom, closed the door, and locked it.
I don't believe, I don't believe it You left in peace, left me in pieces Too hard to breathe, I'm on my knees Right now
You fell on your knees, your hand was on your mouth, covering your whimpers and sobs. It hurt, you loved him so much it broke you apart. You felt your chest tighten, the pain filled your body and there was nothing you could do to stop the pain.
“I-I love you. So much.” Mark was on the other side of the door, his hand was on the doorknob, he couldn’t hold you anymore, it was over now. Mark was still crying as he held his bag tightly and hoped that you’d open the door and jump in his arms, for one last time.
He could hear you, your sobs were loud, you were never good in hiding your emotions. Your eyes filled with tears and pain. “I’m sorry.” And with that, he walked out of your apartment and left.
You couldn’t breathe, the hand that covered your mouth before, was now holding your chest tightly. Your eyes were wide, were you having a panic attack? The bathroom suffocated you, the walls came closer and closer and you were having a hard time controlling your breathing.
Your curled up and closed your eyes, you tried to think of happy memories. Yeah, you had happy memories with Mark, not just bad memories. The first time you had met him was your favorite memory of him.
I'm so sick of that same old love, that shit, it tears me up I'm so sick of that same old love, my body's had enough I'm so sick of that same old love, feels like I've blown apart I'm so sick of that same old love, the kind that breaks your heart
You’ve met Mark on a blind date your friend had arranged for you almost two and a half years ago. She told you that you were a perfect match and after two weeks of begging you to meet him, you said yes. It wouldn’t hurt right?
“He’s a little bit shy, okay maybe not a little bit, but like, you know, he’s cute you’ll love him.” Your friend said as she helped you with your make up. “I’m shy too! What If we just sit there and don’t talk?” you said worriedly.
“No, he will talk. Maybe even a little too much.”
You looked through the restaurant and looked for the man in blue. The two of you decided to wear a matching color since you still didn’t know what he looked like, and he told you to wear blue because it was his favorite color.
Your gaze met his, and your brain stopped working because he looked so handsome and cute at the same time. Mark’s smile widened as he watched you walk over to him. His palms were sweaty, and he was absolutely nervous.
“Hey, Mark?” you said nervously.
“Yeah, hi. I’m Mark. Wow you’re way prettier than I imagined.” He rambled and you smiled at him shyly. “Oh yeah right.” He got up and helped you with your chair like a gentleman. “Thank you.”
“Uhm, I ordered red wine, but like, if you want to drink something else, like, champagne or something tell me.” He was talking so fast and you could see how nervous he was, just like you.
“No, no. Red wine is totally fine.”
“Yeah, uhm, Minsoo told me that you like red wine, but I thought maybe you’d like to drink something else.” He rambled again. “Am I talking too much? I feel like I’m talking too much.”
“No,” you giggled, “You’re not talking too much don’t worry.”
“That’s good, my friends told me to shut up, but I feel like I can’t stop talking. Did I tell you that you’re really pretty?” Mark didn’t even notice the waiter looking at him with his mouth wide open, “Thank you, Mark. You are very handsome.”
The waiter looked to you and then back to Mark as you and Mark just looked at each other without saying anything. The waiter cleared his throat, “Sir, would you like to order now?”
And after ordering, your night was filled with smiles, giggles, and loud laughs. Mark was so funny and cute the whole time, and when you held his hand, which was resting on top of the table, his cheeks started burning and you just wanted to squish his cheeks.
“You’re so adorable.” You smiled at him shyly. “And you’re so gorgeous.”
You were in front of your apartment, even though you didn’t want the night to end, but it was almost 1 am and you had classes the next day. “I had so much fun tonight, Mark. Thank you so much.”
“Me too. And uhm, I really would love to do it again.” He blushed a little. “Me too. You have my number?”
He nodded and you couldn’t resist, so you tiptoed and kissed his cheek before you entered your apartment, “Good night, Mark.”
I'm not spending any time, wasting tonight on you I know, I've heard it all So don't you try and change your mind 'Cause I won't be changing too, you know
You woke up on the bathroom floor. After crying for hours and trying to calm yourself down, you fell asleep. You fell asleep with a smile on your face, the memories you shared with Mark were beautiful, almost too good to be true. But after everything you’ve been through, you didn’t want to wallow in memories. Even it’s just for one night, you wanted to stop feeling sad and down, you just wanted to be happy and think about yourself first. No more thoughts on Mark’s wellbeing, no more going through pictures of him on your phone and no more texting him that you missed him.
You were determined, your relationship with Mark was over, and he wouldn’t change your mind this time, like he always did. This time, you had enough.
You can't believe, still can't believe it You left in peace, left me in pieces Too hard to breathe, I'm on my knees Right now
“H-Hyung, I just- fuck.” Mark cried into his palms. Johnny knew that your relationship with Mark was about to end, after everything Mark had told him, he didn’t think he’d see his friend crying like this after you broke up with him. “I just can’t believe it, I-I thought that we’d be together forever, no matter w-what.”
“Mark, isn’t this what you wanted?” Johnny asked carefully.
Mark shook his head, “I-I don’t know what I wanted, I only know that I want her b-but she’ll never want me back.”
“You said it yourself though, that you were sick-“
“I know what I said!” he shouted at his friend, “I’m sorry- I didn’t mean to shout at you, but like, I know what I said and If I could take it back I would. I just feel so… so empty without her. I think… I think I was scared that she’d stop loving me first and that’s why I pushed her away.”
“That’s literally the dumbest thing you could’ve done.” Johnny sighed.
“She didn’t even cry. S-She looked so, so done. Done with me and done with everything, like she fell apart and it’s all because of me.”
Mark couldn’t breathe, his heart clenched, and he gripped his shirt, everything suffocated him. He remembered your emotionless face and the emptiness in your eyes, and this time it was Mark who was on his knees, having a panic attack.
I'm so sick of that same old love, that shit, it tears me up I'm so sick of that same old love, my body's had enough
I'm so sick of that same old love, feels like I've blown apart I'm so sick of that same old love, the kind that breaks your heart
A couple weeks after your fight with Mark, you found yourself alone at home, an empty bottle of wine next to your empty bed.
He didn’t try to contact you. The only information you had about him was that he stayed with Johnny. Johnny sent a simple text, telling you that he was sorry and that Mark was in safe hands, since he knew, that you after everything still cared for him.
You didn’t cry after the last time you cried. It’s going to be a long journey until you close the big chapter labeled ‘Mark’ and you hoped that it’s going to be a peaceful journey, but after tonight, you weren’t sure if there was a possible future without Mark in it.
Suddenly you heard sounds coming from your door. Didn’t you lock it? Who is trying to get into your apartment? It was past midnight and with a pan in your one hand, you slowly walked to the door.
Of course, it was him. Mark still had your spare key and he forgot to ask for your permission before he entered.
You let out the breath you were holding. “What are you doing here? Did you forget anything?”
Mark looked at you and then at he pan in your hand. “Are you going to hit me with it? I’ll let you do it If you listen to me for just a minute.”
“N-No I’m not going to hit you with. I thought you were a thief.”
You put the pan on top of the little shelf next to your door. “A-Are you scared alone?” he asked you.
The truth is, yes you were. You were scared of being alone, scared of darkness.
“N-No?”
“You don’t have to lie to me, I know that you’re scared. I’m sorry.”
“What are you doing here? I don’t think you came just to ask me If I’m scared.”
“I needed to talk to you, I know it’s late and stuff, but like, yeah I just- I couldn’t sleep nor eat and yeah, I, uhm-“
“Mark you’re rambling.” He reminded you of the time your first started dating, how nervous he was and how he couldn’t stop talking because he hated awkward silence.
“Yeah, I am. Sorry, I just want to talk.”
“I don’t think there is anything to talk about, Mark.” You sighed. “There is. I can’t survive another week without telling you how much you actually mean to me.” He whispered.
“Mark I really don’t want to do this-“
“Please, just one minute. Just one minute.” He held your hand, and you didn’t push away. You missed his touch. “Fine. Just one minute.”
“First of all, I love you. I really do. Since the second I saw you enter that restaurant, I knew that I loved you and I can remember how much of an idiot I was, like, the entire night, but you still kissed me goodbye on the cheek and my heart was about to explode. I thanked Minsoo so much and I still thank her for introducing you to me. I was like, a blind date? How’s that going to work? And it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I know I pushed you away, I was an asshole and I hurt you so much, but I’m an insecure, stupid pussy and I can’t believe I had you, but then I let you slip through my fingers. I didn’t know how to hold your hand and I didn’t know how to make clear, that I need you. The things I told the others, I don’t think that I was actually complaining because If I think about it now, my heart flutters and I can feel the butterflies in my belly jumping around. You cared about me like no one else did and I missed you so much, I just can’t lose you. Your my first and only love, I don’t want anyone but you.”
You were crying, he was crying, Johnny was probably at home crying too.
“M-Mark…” you whimpered, you didn’t know what to say.
“P-Please just give me a chance to gain your love and t-trust back.” He wiped your tears away with his soft hand.
“I’m… I’m so sick of being hurt, I’m so sick of it, Mark. I can’t take anymore pain, I’m so sick of suffering and not being loved, I-I just want to be loved. You h-hurt me so much the past months, I don’t think my body and soul can handle it I-If I go through that again…” you sobbed.
“You won’t need to- Baby, I promise you, I’ll never ever treat you like that again. I won’t let you suffer, not again. I love you I love you so much. I love you please believe me, I love you.”
Mark wrapped his arms around you as you cried into the crook of his neck. He repeated over and over again that he loved you as you both cried together, arms wrapped around each other and hearts connected again.
“One last chance, and if you fuck up again, you’ll never get to see my face again.” You whispered.
“I won’t fuck up, I promise you. The days without you were torture. Being without you is torture.”
“C-Can we take it slow, Mark? I feel like… I feel like if we rush things you’ll get sick of me again…” you were scared that giving him another chance was a mistake.
“No, no baby. Don’t ever think that again, okay? We can take it slow if you want that, but I don’t want you think that I’ll get sick of you, I could never. Being away from you was so hard, I don’t want that to happen ever again.” Mark pressed his lips on your temple.
“Okay…”
“Do you want to go on a date with me? Are you free on Friday?” he asked you and you chuckled.
“I’m not sure, I have to check my schedule.” You teased him.
“Babe…” Mark whined.
“I’m just joking.”

Tumblr media
“Damn where the fuck is Jeno” Jaehyun Sighed as He sat on his Gold throne inside the biggest and darkest castle in the underworld. Everybody feared him and would tremble at the mention of his name.
“Hello Your grumpy Highness” Jeno Rolled his Eyes At him as He handed Him a Letter. Jaehyun Looked at Jeno and shook his head.
“You do know i can Take your life right at this very moment if you keep up that attitude of yours” Jaehyun Glared at The poor boy and Jeno just bowed and walked away.
There are Three worlds that exists. The first one is Heaven where all the Gods And Goddesses live. Second Earth where Humans And Some demi Gods Live and Lastly the Underworld Ruled By Jaehyun Where he punishes all the bad people and The Corrupt Gods And Goddesses are thrown.
Jaehyun opened the letter for it to be an invitation to the Heavenly Ball. Jaehyun receives one every year but he never once attended these kind of gatherings and he is always labeled as A VIP guest . He just thinks its a waste of time and silly but this year he wanted to Go For a change
“Hey Mark” he called Mark His Guard and Personal Assistant “Yes Your Highness” he Bowed slightly and was preparing to throw the invitation “Get dressed in The finest suit you Have..we are going to this damn Ball” He stood up and left Mark with a confused Look. “Your highness why are you going?” He asked afraid and was sweating cold sweats
“I wanted to go for a change..besides i wanna see my brothers ” he smirked as he opened the main door.
He dressed in the finest Suit that he had and his slick back hair that made him look 10x more intimidating.
Mark drove him to the venue also looking as dashing as ever. When they arrived at the venue it looked like everybody saw a ghost except for his 3 brothers ofcourse. Mark Followed Jaehyun Quietly at a distance
“FINALLY SOMEONE WENT OUT OF THAT DAMN HELL HOLE AFTER A LONG TIME” Taeyong Screamed Happily while approaching his Brother. Taeyong The God of The sky and Thunder happily approached his brother with champagne. Winwin Just sighed at the sight of Taeyong screaming so loud to the point where everybody had their eyes on them.
“Taeyong I swear to God lower your damn voice” he smacked his Brother at the back of his head
“So What made you attend this event this year My dear brother” he casually approached his brother and took a sip of his champagne.
All the Goddesses had their eyes on Him. Whispering endless thoughts and probably thirsting about how hot he is. Meanwhile all of the Gods Are starting to Fume with anger because all of the Women’s eyes were on him.
“I also dont know i felt like i needed to go here for a change” he took a sip of his champagne.
Johnny The God Of the Sun Approached Jaehyun and His Brothers
“Jaehyun im surprised to see you here my friend” he looked at him with disbelief.
Johnny and Jaehyun along with his brothers are Good Friends And they also run a business along with a few friends In The Underworld.
“Yeah i just went here for an appearance i really cant believe You attend something like this every year” he tsked and looked around the place as His brothers continue chatting With Johnny
Whispers and loud chattering can be heard. Loud music can Be Heard and the sight of Gods And Goddesses Flirting can be seen. The thought of love and flirting has never crossed Jaehyun’s mind. He had too much On his plate to be Even thinking about matters like those.
Jaehyun’s one and only rule? Never fall in Love For It will destroy you. Jaehyun saw what love did to humans and other Gods and Goddesses and he thought it was Stupid.
“Im Gonna go Out Where is The garden?” Jaehyun asked Taeyong and he answered with a smile “go straight then turn left you’ll see a glass door” jaehyun nodded and Mark followed with a glass of wine in his hands.
“Sooo are you enjoying this party your highness?” Mark asked with wiggly eyes brows
“Fuck no This was a wrong decision to come here..How are the transport on the drugs?”
“Its alright the same as usual no need to worry”  as he looked up and saw bright colors and expensive gold on the ground and walls “Good Make sure Nothing Goes Wrong. Tell Jeno To Gather The Team to Monitor the transport we need to be careful this is a huge amount make sure it doesn’t Get stolen” Mark Does a bow and said “yes Your Highness” Jaehyun nodded and dismissed Mark.        He Was faced With A very elegant Glass door The doorknobs made with diamonds and rubies. Slowly he Opened The Door to be greeted by The scent of Hyacinths. He slowly walked over the stone path. He Never really gets to see flowers back in The Underworld because no living thing can survive in the underworld.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 “oh My God What happened to You. You  poor thing let me fix You Up real quick”  You said in a concern voice looking at the dead flowers in the Garden. You placed your hand on top of the flower and used a tiny bit of your powers to heal the flowers. You smiled and giggled at the sight of healthy flowers. Yes You are the Goddess of vegetation and Fertility.                                                                                                                                                                                             You never really wanted to attend these kind of Parties. You Just feel so out of place and uncomfortable with all the people surrounding you and all. The thought of it makes you sick. You sighed as You drank Wine and slowly leaned back onto the tree. It was a nice view. The garden was filled with  many green and colorful Plants. You'd really Rather spend your day here rather than talking to people.                                                                                                                  You Fished out your phone from your Pocket To call Jisung the cupid and Your bestfriend ofc.                                                                                                          “Jisung are you really not gonna attend this event? I have no friends here seriously i was forced By Naeun That's why I'm here” You groaned when you heard Him laugh " I told You You need to stay away from that girl" He laughed even harder when he heard How annoyed You were “ Let me Guess You are either at some random room in the mansion or you are at the garden ”You did a little snap and said “BINGO! I'm at the garden " You chuckled “anyways i need to go get more wine please pick me up later" you can feel him smiling through the phone and said “okay okay ill pick u up bye” he suddenly ended the call and all you could do was stare at the phone with disbelief. "Woah I cant believe this man He suddenly - “ You suddenly turned to your side and bumped into a God...well probably the most handsome God You have ever laid your Eyes on. He shut his eyes shut and sighed.                                                                                                                                                                                                                           “Oh my God I'm So sorry" You panicked because he seemed like he was having a bad day and he looked so pissed at the sight of wine staining his Suit  “damn Woman watch where Your Going.” As He opened his eyes you could feel his hot gaze pierce through you skull. “ I'm really so sorry about this......’’ You looked at him and gave him the “what's your name??” Kind of look.                                                                                                                                                       “ You don't know me??” Jaehyun asked because he couldn’t believe it.                “yeah I don't know you so I uh...may I know your name??’’                                                                                                                                                                       he smirked and leaned down to whisper in her ears                                                                                                                                                                        “My name is Jaehyun”

Deja vu (F.W)
Requested: Yes/No
Pairing: Fred Weasley x fem!reader
Navigation
Summary: After Fred and Y/n break up, he has moved on with someone new, or so she believed.
Warnings: angst-ish, swearing, fluff ending, my english
A/N: inspired by the song ‘deja vu’ by Olivia Rodrigo. Flashbacks are in italics. Fred. Is. Alive.
Word count: 1.7k
Tumblr media
Y/n thought her life was perfect. She had great friends, she was great in school and she had a great boyfriend.
Fred and Y/n dated during seventh year. But before Fred and George made their scape they decided to break up.
She thought he would be waiting for her when she graduates, but the only thing that welcomed her was a broken heart.
"But you always steal my sweater!" He said with a playful grin.
"Because it's like ten sizes bigger than mine!" She said chuckling. Honestly, seeing a man 6 ft tall like Fred wear a jacket that didn't even cover his arms was a sight to behold. "Take it off!" She could barely breathe now, the only thing getting out of her mouths was wheezes.
"Why darling? Don't you think I look sexy?” He said before winking cheekily.
"Of course love, you look sexy in anything.” She said walking up to him. He opened his arms -or tried to, with her jacket making difficult for him to move- and she stepped in. She lifted her hands and cupped his face, bringing him down to kiss him softly.
Tumblr media
When she went to Diagon Alley to finally visit Weasley Wizard Wheezes she looked through the glass in the door, and there they were, Fred and George with their best smiles talking to costumers. Her face broke into a smile at the sight of Fred in his work suit and proud for him expanded in her chest. She put her hand on the doorknob but then she saw a pretty girl with short blonde hair walking in his direction, she wrapped her arms around his neck and brought him down to meet her lips. Y/n's face fell and she felt her heart sink to the pit of her stomach, her eyes becoming very blurry all of the sudden. She let go of the doorknob and turned around, waking to her flat.
Tumblr media
"Hello gorgeous," he said kissing her cheek. "What flavour is that?"
"You tell me.” She said grabbing ice cream with her spoon and holding his jaw to spoon-feed him.
He moaned in a loud and exaggerated way. "I love strawberry ice cream, can I have more?" She rolled her eyes but kept giving him her ice cream.
Tumblr media
Entering her flat she collapsed on the sofa, her friend -and now roommate- Angelina came running from her room presumably because she heard the sobs leaving Y/n's mouth.
"What the fuck happened?" She asked frantically kneeling beside the couch.
Y/n said something unintelligent and Angelina sighed.
"Come on love, up," she said softly and Y/n lifted herself to a seating position. "Take a deep breath, Y/n, that's it, there you go. Now, do you want to tell me what happened?"
"Fred," her voice cracked. "Fred is wit-," she breathed in and out. "Fred is with some- with someone else."
"Oh darling, I'm so fucking sorry. I had no idea," Angelina said wrapping Y/n in her arms. She was the one who told her to go and see them today. They had rented the flat together just a couple of days before leaving Hogwarts in one of their -forbidden- excursions outside of the castle. Angelina was training to be a healer and both were working on a muggle café to pay the rent while Y/n decided what job she wanted to pursue.
Y/n started sobbing again. "It's just- I thought- I-"
"Shh, it's alright, it's okay."
Tumblr media
After what felt like years Y/n got out of the flat, Angelina by her side. "Can't we just Apparate there?" Angelina groaned. They have decided to walk to Diagon Alley, even if  Y/n would absolutely love to, she couldn't avoid Fred forever, and wanted to be a civilised person and show the bastard that she could live without him, or that's what Angelina said. "No, I need to be prepared, and for that I need to think, so walking it is."
"Walking it is." Angelina repeated with a sigh.
They stood outside of Weasleys' Wizards Wheezes in no time. Y/n put her hand on the doorknob and with the weight of Angelina's supporting hand between her shoulder blades, she opened the door and stepped inside. Two identical voices called out "What can I help you with?" Y/n was too preoccupied starting at everything that was on display in the show to hear it though. "Maybe just a cup of tea?" Said Angelina behind her. Y/n got out of her daze just when a pair of brown eyes looked right at her, those eyes she knew too well. Fred was holding a box and it was dangerously close to be dropped. He opened his mouth, and then closed it again.
"Hey you two! Long time no see!" Said George and Y/n suddenly remembered that there was more people in the room, the shop was full of people actually. She let herself be enveloped in George's arms and returned the hug, looking over his shoulder at the only one person she wanted to hug.
"Hi- er- hello you two," said Fred scratching the back of his neck, his eyes not leaving Y/n's. "How are you d-"
"Fred?” Said the girl Y/n saw a couple of days before, and she felt her throat close.
"Oh! Right, yeah, this is Verity, my er, my-"
"Girlfriend." She said with a bright smile bringing up her hand for them to shake. And Y/n wanted to hate her for being so polite and pretty, but instead she smiled a little to big and shook her hand, noticing that it was small and soft and delicate. "Pleasure to meet you."
Tumblr media
"So Verity, I haven't see you at Hogwarts, did you go there?" Said Angelina. Fred and George had close the shop early and invited everyone for a drink in their flat above the shop.
"Oh yeah, I was just three years above all of you, Hufflepuff house." Verity said proudly. Y/n could see why Fred liked her, she was beautiful, and smart, and chirpy. But there was just one thing that didn't sit right with her. Then, Verity went to grab ice cream from the kitchen, Y/n watch as she spoon-fed Fred and he moaned in an exaggerated way that made Verity giggle. Y/n was sure her eyes were wide as plates in realisation and exchanged a look with Angelina that clearly said 'let's go'.
When they were out of the flat, and after Y/n told her about the ice cream revelation, Angelina kept looking at Y/n from the corner of her eye while they walked back to their flat, what made Y/n sigh. "Just say it."
"Alright, I think you should tell him that, you know, still want to jump his bones." Y/n groaned. "It's just, the word ‘love’ is so strong! But I think you should tell him your feelings, you won't sleep until you know he knows."
"How could I ever do that? He's taken! He's happy!" She sighed. "That's not my place anymore."
"Just think about it, you know I'll support you either way."
Tumblr media
Y/n now hated Angelina, she decided. She turned and rolled at night without getting any sleep. A week had passed since they visited Fred and George. Did he know that she loved him? Did he think it was just casual? She got out of bed, got dressed and walked her way to Angelina's room and sat down next to her in the bed. "I hate you."
Angelina rolled over and looked sleepily up at her. "Whatever, just don't come back too late." Y/n sighed and kissed her friend's forehead and got out of the room, and a couple of seconds later, out of the flat.
Tumblr media
She knocked three times and waited. The moment she started regretting it, the door flung open. A very sleepy Fred standing up behind it.
"Can I come in?"
"Yeah, of course.” He said stepping aside to let her in.
"Alright," she said entering the flat, her back still to him. "I just wanted to let you know something, and I know that is fucking selfish because you're taken and happy, but I need to be happy too, you know? I need it, and I need to know that you know that I love you. I've loved you since we were together and I'm still in love with you. And do whatever you want with that.” She said finally turning around. Watching as Fred was just standing there, eyes wide, his mouth gaping like a fish. "I'm going to go now."
"No!" He said a little to loudly and winced. "Don't go."
He took a couple of steps forward. Standing right in front of her. "Do you mean it?" He whispered.
"Of course I mean it you stupid prick-"
He cut her off crashing their lips together, his hands on either side of her face. She kissed him back quickly, her hands on his neck and hair, pulling a little. When she heard a small sound coming from the back of his throat, she pulled back.
"Fred what the fuck are you doing!? You have a girlfriend!" His mouth tugged a little at the right side.
"I broke up whit her," he said shrugging.
"What?" She breathed out.
"Yeah, right after you and Angie left, I realized I liked her because she reminded me of you, it was like living in a constant déjà vu."
A lot of thoughts were swimming in her head, but the only thing that came out of her mouth was "Why didn't you wait for me?"
She watched as sadness washed over his face and her heart broke just a little bit. "I didn't think you'd want me back, and I missed being with someone, I missed being in love. And when I saw you I knew it wasn't the same thing, she wasn't you."
"You love me?"
He just shrugged, a small smile on his face. "I know we have never said it before, but I loved you back then and I love you now. And, if you take me back, I'll make sure to prove it to you everyday."
She answered him with a kiss, felling him smile when George's voice from somewhere in the flat called out "Congratulations!"

Lovestruck (2)
Tumblr media
Part 1
Part 3
Pairing: Professor Erwin x Fem! Reader
Word Count: 4K
“Are you up?” You scrunched your face up at the question. “Sorry, stupid question.” You weren’t sure why you were so nervous right now. You had spoken to Erwin plenty of times before. Hell, you spent nearly every day on the phone with him. If it wasn’t a ‘good morning’ call, it was a ‘good night’ call, or even him just calling in between classes. Yet here you were, jumbling over your words nervously. “I, uh, what I meant to say was, did I wake you?”
You looked down at the annoyingly blank document on your screen. The blinking cursor on the white screen seemed to be mocking you. It was a steady reminder of what you should be doing. All you could hope was that Erwin would be able to rid you of your writer's block in some way, even if it was just his voice.
You could hear a quiet amused sound from the other side of the phone. “N-no, you’re fine, I promise,” he reassured you. His voice was huskier than usual, laced with unmistakable tiredness. “Someone already beat you to the punch,” Erwin joked. His chuckle quickly died out as a quiet ‘oh’ fell from your lips.
Erwin cleared his throat worriedly, “I’m glad you called, actually. I was going to ask for your help.”
You glanced at the clock on your laptop. “You want my help? At two in the morning,” you thought aloud, processing what was going on. Sure, you were calling to ask the same, but. Well, you had no ‘but’s right now. “Kinda sounds like a booty call to me.”
“Were you not doing the same,” Erwin asked teasingly. You could hear the smile in his honeyed tone. “It’s not a booty call,” Erwin reassured you when he got nothing but a laugh. “Unless you want it to be,” he trailed off in uncertainty, unsure if he was stepping over a line.
“You wish, Erwin. What happened to taking things slow?”
“What better way to give you that demonstration you wanted?”
You laughed and shook your head. It was easier just to assume he was teasing than face your feelings right now. “What do you need help with, Erwin,” you chuckled.
“It’d probably be easier if you just came over. And yes, I know this is sounding more and more like a booty call, but I swear it isn’t.”
“Whatever you say, Smith.” You shook your head as you fought back an amused smirk. “I’ll be there in a bit.”
Erwin smiled like a kid in a candy store, “I’ll send you the address.” You hung up with a playful ‘yeah, yeah, yeah.’ His eyes scanned the room, making sure everything was spick and span. He wanted to make sure everything was perfect. But more than anything else, he wanted to make sure you were comfortable.
You stared at yourself in the bathroom mirror, your mind racing a mile a minute. You weren’t sure what to wear- because your t-shirt and panties weren’t an option. Well, they could be. You groaned and walked over to your dresser. You wanted to be comfortable, but all your shorts left little to the imagination. And you could wear sweatpants, but sweats weren’t always the sexiest thing. You let out a sound that was a mixture between a scoff and a laugh. It was ridiculous how much you were stressing over going to his house. He was your friend, for crying out loud. He probably didn’t even really care.
Erwin leaned against the bathroom counter, getting closer to the mirror. He ran the brush over his hair for probably the tenth time in the past couple of minutes. His thundering heart and shaking hands made it nearly impossible to get his part right. A frustrated sigh left his lips as he set the brush down. He couldn’t for the life of him figure out why he was making such a big deal about this. Sure, it was the first time you were coming over, and he wanted to impress you. But who has their shit together at two in the morning?
“What do you think, princess? Should I brush my hair or go for a messy-casual look?”
You pulled on a pair of grey sweatpants before your nerves told you to change again. “It’s just Erwin,” you quietly reassured yourself. You walked through your room, gathering the numerous pieces of clothes strewn about the place, “just Erwin Mr. Perfect Smith. No need to fret,” you folded each item before putting them in their proper place. “Just two friends helping each other out, non sexually, at two in the morning,” you continued with an uncertain tone as you walked past your bathroom. You stopped in your tracks, backpedaling towards the room you just passed to grab a toothbrush and some deodorant. You tossed them into a bag along with your laptop.
Erwin: Here’s the address, call me if you get lost :)
Erwin: Can’t wait for you to meet Sina
You stared at your phone in disbelief, your hand falling slack against the doorknob. Your feet felt like bricks, holding you in place as you read the short sentence repeatedly. Who was Sina? More importantly, why did it bother you so much? He’s just a friend, nothing more. Who cared if he had a girl? You were only coming over to help.
With a weary sigh, you pulled yourself out of your daze, walking out the door and into the cool early morning air. The faint smell of rain hung in the air as you drove further and further out of the city. Streetlights were replaced with dense trees, leaving nothing but the moonlight and your headlights to lead the way. Your mind drifted back to Erwin’s text in an attempt to busy itself. You tried picturing what she might look like, whether she had long or short hair, her height, how perfect she’d look on Erwin’s arm. What would you even say to her?
You pushed down the thought, feeling yourself get more and more anxious with every new conspiracy theory-like idea of who Sina could be. “Just friends,” you breathed quietly as you parked your car.
Quiet knocking sounded through the house, sending both Erwin and Sina on high alert. Erwin stood frozen in place while his mind raced with his heart as if they were trying to see which would drive him crazy faster. Heart thundering in his chest, he forces himself to walk towards the front door, Sina following behind on his heels.
You raised your finger to ring the doorbell, stopping short as the door opened to reveal Erwin. You stared at him, jaw slack and mouth slightly agape as you admired the man in front of you. His hair was casually messy except for a few stubborn strands. It was as if his hair was gelled down, and someone tried to ruffle it to avail.  “I was beginning to think you fell asleep,” you teased as you crossed your arms over your chest.
“And miss seeing you,” Erwin chuckled and shook his head. “Of course-,” he was interrupted by the door opening wider, Sina squeezing her way towards you.
A gasp escaped your lips as you felt repeated nudging against your shin. Your eyes fell to the ground, landing an overly excited Shiba Inu puppy. “Hi there, cutie,” you cooed, scooping it up into your arms. Giggles spilled from your lips as the puppy squirmed in your arms, desperately trying to cover every bit of you in kisses.
Erwin watched you with adoring eyes for a moment, a dopey smile spreading across his face. He could watch you for hours, intoxicated by everything about you. Your smile made his heart stop and sent it into overdrive all at the same time as if he was on a rollercoaster. “I’m glad you two are getting along. Y/n, meet my new little princess, Sina.”
“S-Sina,” You repeated after him, hoping you didn’t look as shocked as you actually were. “She’s… she’s Sina? So when you said someone had beat me to the…. gotcha.” Erwin raised an eyebrow at you, sending you a knowing smirk. “I just mean, well, I just- it’s a cute name.” You let out a quiet sigh of relief, “it fits her.” You turned your attention to Sina, who had snuggled herself into the crook of your arm.
Erwin made an amused sound and muttered quietly to himself, “you’re something else.”
“Hmm. What was that?”
“I, well,” Erwin scratched the back of his neck embarrassedly. “I was trying to figure out if you came all this way just to stand outside.”
You pushed your tongue against the inside of your cheek with a playful scoff. “It’s a little hard to come inside when there’s a brick wall in the way?”
“A brick wall, eh?” Erwin leaned against the doorframe not so casually, lifting his arm above his head and his shirt along with it. “First a Greek god, then a brick wall, huh?”
Your eyes drifted down his form, slowly taking all of him in before landing on the glimpse of skin above his waistband. You wanted to run your fingers along his prominent v-line, tracing it lower and-. Erwin cleared his throat, pulling you out of your thoughts. You closed your eyes with a bashful smile tugging on your lips, “are you going to stop being a pain in the ass and invite me in sometime soon?” You opened your eyes to meet his unwavering gaze. “Or I can just leave with Sina.”
“Wouldn’t be the first thing you’ve taken from me,” Erwin muttered as he moved aside, allowing you to step inside. His pulse quickened as you walked past him, Sina still tucked away in your arms as if she belonged there. “D-do you want anything to drink or eat,” he questioned as he closed and locked the door behind you.
“Water is fine, thank you.” You gently set Sina down on the mahogany floor, watching her return to a ball of energy as she was before- bounding happily over to Erwin. “It’s a nice murder house you have here,” you called after him as he walked towards what you presumed to be the kitchen. Erwin’s laughter echoed down the hall, filling you with a surge of giddy warmth. Your eyes wandered around, subconsciously scanning for pictures.
“It’s not a murder house,” Erwin laughed with a playful eye-roll. “It’s just peaceful, makes it easy to find inspiration.”
“Yeah, sure, that’s what all the murderers say.” You strolled down the hall, taking in the cozy interior while continuing your search for pictures.
“You’re not going to find anything,” Erwin spoke, his breath tickling your ear.
“What? I wasn’t- what are you talking about?” You kept your eyes on the wall in front of you, refusing to turn around and face him. Heat rose to your cheeks as if you were standing in front of a fire.
“I don’t have a girlfriend.”
You whipped around before you could stop yourself, nearly knocking over the cup in his hand. “I wasn’t going to-.” Was it really that obvious what you were doing? Your breaths grew shorter and shorter as you grew anxious.
“You didn’t have to. Your reaction to Sina was enough.” Erwin stared at you gently as he mulled over his own thoughts. Was it mere curiosity, or did you… do you feel the same way about him as he does for you? He opened his mouth to say something, but no words could come out. No words felt right. He wasn’t sure if he should just outright say how he felt, too afraid of scaring you off. “Y/n-,” Sina’s frustrated yips stopped his words in their tracks. “... what did you need help with?” Erwin watched the hopeful look in your eyes diminish.
“Ah,” you gasped, pulled out of your dream-like daze that his blue eyes put you under. “I needed some writing inspiration… what did you need help with?” You plucked the cup from his hand, taking a sip.
I wanted an excuse to see you. His brain froze like a deer in headlights, leaving him staring at you like a complete idiot. Erwin’s eyes flitted down to your lips. I needed to be beside you. “I,” he trailed off as his cheeks were painted a pale shade of pink. “I wanted you to meet Sina.”
You raised an eyebrow challengingly, “at two in the morning?” You immediately bit the inside of your cheek in regret.
Erwin’s eyes fell to Sina at his feet, watching as she pawed at his legs in desperation for attention. The warmth radiating from your body was becoming unbearable. You were so close, yet it felt almost illegal to touch you.
“Well, I’m glad you did.” You lowered down into a squat, grabbing Sina’s attention. A soft smile graced your face as the puppy climbed into your lap like a jungle gym.
He took the cup from your hand before setting it down on a table. Why was it so hard for him to talk right now?  He was thankful you were too busy playing with Sina to notice him struggling to come up with something to say. A few moments passed before he finally opened his mouth to say, “I wanna show you something,”  An awkward silence covered both of you as he slowly led you throughout the house. No amount of deep breaths seemed to calm Erwin enough to get him to be confident enough to form coherent sentences. He was too aware of your presence beside him. Too aware of the look of awe on your face as you took in each new room until you stopped at a room composed mostly of windows that gave a perfect view of the lake a few meters away.
“This is where I get most of my writing done,” he admitted as he turned on the fairy lights hanging above them. “Or out there,” he nodded towards the hammock swaying the breeze right over a shallow part of the lake.
“So Mr. Smith’s murder house turns out to be a lake house as well. How convenient.” You turned to him with a playful smirk, basking in the way the corners of his eyes crinkled in amusement. “In all seriousness though, it’s beautiful- all of it,” you gestured to the house around you.
“You’re free to come whenever you want,” Erwin blurted before he could catch himself. He opened his mouth to protest as your eyes widened, but you beat him to the punch.
“I’d like that… a lot.” You could picture it already. You could see you and Erwin living a happy domestic life together, spending early mornings in the hammock with him and Sina, watching the sunrise. But you were getting ahead of yourself- he’s nothing but a friend after all. You quickly averted your gaze out of embarrassment. “Mind if I play music while I write,” you asked as you plopped down on a bench with your laptop in hand.
“Whatever makes you comfortable.” Erwin followed behind you, oblivious to your sudden embarrassment, sitting beside you.
Sina wasted no time, slipping between the small space left between yours and Erwin’s thigh. It was a snug fit that left her in a cubby of warmth that quickly lulled her to sleep.
You stifled your third yawn in the past minute, determined to get some of your thought on the god-forsaken document. The ideas were finally flowing, revived by the serene sight in front of you. Or maybe it was by the muscular blonde beside you that couldn’t seem to keep his eyes off of you for more than a second. “It’s kinda hard to focus when you keep staring.” You glanced at him through the corner of your eye with a smug smile to let him know you were teasing.
“Not my fault you look gorgeous,” Erwin breathed absentmindedly. He couldn’t get enough of you, his eyes drinking you in like a man in the desert. He wanted to memorize how you looked. He tried to ingrain into his mind the feeling of having, if nothing else, this one domestic moment with you. The love songs streaming from your phone only helped make the picture that much more vivid in his mind. You were perfect.
“Wha-?” You whipped your head to look at him, “what did you say?”
“N-nothing!”
You sighed disappointedly and nodded, “sorry, I thought you said something.” You shifted uncomfortably as the awkward silence returned. Hesitantly you turned back to your laptop to finish working on the little bit of story you managed to snuff out of your inspiration. The words on the screen blurred together, jumbling together into nonsense. Too much of your brain was focused on missing the feeling of Erwin’s gaze to attempt to refocus. You looked down at the time with a sigh. 4 a.m.
“I should get going,” you broke the silence as you rose to your feet. “It’s late-,” you stifled a yawn, “and I’m sure you’re probably tired by now.”
“Stay?” Erwin followed your lead and rose to his feet as well, “like you said, it’s late. And your eyes are barely open.” He let out a heart-melting chuckle. “Stay and leave when you wake up.” He searched your eyes as he gave you time to think it over. “I’ll even sleep on the couch,” he continued when you opened your mouth with a frown pressed in over your expressions. “You and Sina can have my bed.”
“I’m not going to make you sleep on the couch in your own house.”
“You’re not making me do anything.”
You chewed onto the inside of your cheek as you mulled it over. He was right. Your eyes felt like they weighed tons which meant driving probably wasn’t the safest option. The butterflies in your stomach, on the other hand, were wide awake and quickly spreading through your body. “Okay.”
Erwin let out a breath he hadn’t even realized he had been holding, “okay?” His lips cracked into an uncertain smile.
You rolled your eyes, a quiet giggle falling from your lips. “That’s what I said, isn’t it?” You gave his shoulder a gentle nudge, leaving your hand there longer than necessary, “you aren’t changing your mind are you?”
Erwin caught your hand with ease, gently holding it in place against his shoulder. “About you?” Erwin looked at you like it might’ve been the last time he got the chance. “Never.” He kept his hand clasped around your, noting to himself how perfectly your hand seemed to fit in his.
You laughed nervously, “even if I ask to borrow some shorts for the night?”
“Especially then.” Erwin smiled shyly, feeling his hand grow slightly clammy. He loosened his grip on your hand, “come on.”
In a moment of panic, you quickly grasped onto his hand, holding onto it despite the increasing clamminess from both of your hands. A surge of regret washed over you as you felt his hand stiffen. “S-sorry,” you gasped, preparing to release his hand. Erwin’s eyes never left your own-- despite the worry and hesitance they held-- as he laced his fingers with yours. Your eyes flitted down to your interlocked hand, a small smile finding its way on your lips. “Ah, lead the way, Smith.”
Erwin scooped Sina into his free hand with ease before leading you to his bedroom. Every step towards the room felt like a shot of adrenaline straight to the heart, filling him with giddy excitement. He would’ve felt embarrassed or childish in any other situation, but he could’ve sworn he could feel the same excitement radiating off of you.
Erwin reluctantly released your hand once the both of you walked into his room. “Shorts are in the dresser over there,” Erwin nodded to the opposite corner of the room as he laid Sina in her bed. “I’ll- uh, go ahead and go lay down on the couch. Make yourself comfortable.”
You nodded as you dug through his drawer, grabbing the first pair of shorts you saw. Something felt wrong. Like something was missing. You changed in the bathroom, and by the time you came back out, he was already out of the room. A heavy sigh left your lips as your mind jumped from one thought to another like a child playing the floor is lava. Sure, Erwin was just a friend, but is that really all you wanted him to be? Either way, friends can sleep in the same bed without it being weird. Right?
“Erwin,” you spoke softly as you walked out to the hall. Erwin stood at the end of it, his hand resting on the light switch. You waited until he turned to look at you, your breath hitching in your throat at the sight of his bright blue eyes. “Come lay with us? I feel bad making you sleep on the couch and, well, erm, Sina wants you.”
Erwin’s chuckle rumbled in his chest as he raised an eyebrow. “Sina wants me?” You nodded shyly, your eyes wavering as if there was more you wanted to say. It was an answer enough for him to turn off the light and walk towards you, the bedroom light guiding him. He stopped in front of you, towering over you, “Just Sina?” He didn’t know what had gotten ahold of him.
Your voice caught in your throat, leaving you gaping like a fish. You let out a heavy sigh, your shoulders raising and dropping, as you gathered yourself. “I… I want you.” Erwin quirks a grin at your words, and you could’ve sworn you saw his shoulders relax.
Erwin pulled you closer by the waist, mischief twinkling in his eyes as he lowered his voice to a soft murmur, “say it again.”
“Erwin, I want you,” you coo as you press yourself closer, leaving barely enough room for a breath.
“I want you too.” His grip around your waist tightens momentarily. The look in his eyes was one you’ve never seen before, one filled with an insatiable hunger. “God, I’ve wanted you longer than you know.” He leaned forward to rest his forehead against yours, your noses brushing against each other. His breath fanned over your lips, but he couldn’t bring himself to take the next step. This all felt like too much of a dream to do so. He was so close, yet fear gripped him and held him impossibly still. It took everything in his power not to claim you, to press his lips against yours like he’s wanted to for so long. “I want…”
“No offense Erwin, but shut up,” you chuckled, “taking it slow sucks.” You softly pressed your lips against his. Erwin responds instantly, consuming you completely with sudden passion, his lips bruising against yours. Desire for each other takes every thought until you both are nothing more than a body, yearning to touch and be touched.
Erwin smiled against your lips. You were sending him to cloud nine, and as much as he loved it, he wasn’t sure how much more he could take. When he breaks the kiss, he looks almost dizzy, pausing a moment to catch a breath and look you over before speaking. “I’ll have to agree with you on that,” he breathed, his voice barely above a whisper. “But it made the moment all the more savorable.” Without warning, Erwin lifted you- one hand holding you steady while the other guided your legs to wrap around his waist. “And I’m not done savoring it yet.”
