I found this blog because of BNHA but the RWBY love is a really pleasant surprise! Who are your favorite characters? Favorite ships? Which volume is your favorite? Thanks!

I'm glad you think so! I've always loved RWBY and the boost in reblogs is really because of V9 (I reblogged stuff before but that was during the hiatus. Now the story is back in motion again, the hype is real and the love is boosted even more lol)

I like all of the characters, between the antagonists and protagonists. Even with those I feel neutral about, I can still appreciate their roles a lot. But my favourite out of all of them has to be Ruby! MY BABY! I love her so much! She's a sweetheart and I love her arc and her voice and sdnhfiudsfnkds

Favourite ships are Bumbleby and Renora. I also like Rosegarden, they're pretty cute too

Ugh I'm REALLY stuck between V7 and V8 as my favorites. Atlas arc in general. Everything about it was *chefs kiss*. I'm having a difficult time picking between the two, they both have so many great scenes

I loved V7's tension more than anything else I think. How Ironwood and the teams were working together but they still didn't trust each other. The AceOps and the teams helping each other to train (and that later being the AceOps downfall). Watching Ironwood get along with everyone and then everything spinning out of control, especially when he saw the chess piece and actually saw Salem

All of that tension dragging you into the moment Ruby betrays Ironwood, the moment Penny becomes the Fall Maiden, the moment Ironwood shoots Oscar, the moment Cinder sees Ruby and then runs when she uses her silver eyes, the moment Oscar uses the cane. THE SILENCE THAT FOLLOWED AFTERWARDS. THE FEAR SPEECH. GAH. So amazing

But then... V8 with the AceOps vs Rwby battle. The Hound and how Actually Scary that was. Cinder's backstory. Penny falling from Amity. Ruby becoming more hopeless (until she wasn't, for a brief time). Ironwood getting So Much Worse. The whole scene with Ambrosius. The entire scene with Penny and Winter at the end ("You chose nothing. This was a gift." I'M STILL SCREAMING). The tragedy of it all

Just... everything about those volumes is so amazing for different reasons and I really can't pick one. sorry lol

It feels so weird to be back watching the show after so long, but now that we're in it again I'm just so excited to see what happens in V9 aaaaaaaaaa

I swear to God, it was an accident.

My (27) BF (34) has a reputation for getting himself out of any jam you can imagine; and at first it was just a fun little thing the friend group noticed: there goes Oily J wiggling his way out of trouble again. but as the meme evolved in the group, it got to the point where we'd loykey started getting him into situations just to see how he'd get out of 'em, and he akept getting out of em. He was having fun with it too same as us. "Oh you guys," he'd say, "getting me into situations again," before laughing it off and getting out of it, so it was enrichment for our shared enclosures, and as time went on, the situations got more intense.

The trouble is, it turns out that putting a man in too many situations eventually gets the police interested. And not local hobsknockers cops either; they was like, proper three-letter FEDs. They put out a bounty on any information pertaining to his capture and everything. It was good money too so I thought, hey why don't I put J in another situation he can wiggle out of like always (and he'd wiggled outta worse before, so I thought this one'd be relatively mild), and at the next boardgame night (cause it was too late to do anything special for this one) we can buy some extra strong booze and get absolutely blitzed while having a giggle about the situation.

Boardgame night, and we were playing some social deduction nonsense or another and he says: "One of you is gonna betray me tonight." and I can't help but think, looking back on it, that he knew. It's stupid, I know he was talking about the game, but the way he said it, it was like he knew. We all felt it, and we had a big round robin round the table taking turns promising that we'd never betray him. And I said it so easily cause I thought it was true. Sure, I was gonna talk to the feds about a bounty; but, I fully expected my big beautiful oily boy to wiggle his way out of the trouble I was 'bout to cause, and that's not a betrayal. I wasn't lying. I didn't think I was lying.

My big beautiful oily boy didn't manage to wiggle his way out of it. They killed him and I got my blood money. He's gone.

He's gone and I'm devastated, crying, mourning. I loved him so much. We all did. And I can't stop thinking that it's my fault: that I'm the reason he's gone. and it is. and the guilt is eating me up inside. and I just need to talk to someone about it. So, I tell the rest of the group what happened in the group chat, hoping they'd understand that I didn't want this. I didn't want the government's blood money. These little fuckers are round gobies. They are a freshwater goby that's invasive in Michigan, and they're in the nearby lake. They're distinct from the four native species due to their fused pelvic fins (middle pic) and a big black dot at the rear of their front dorsal fin. Though some other gobies have spots on their fins, NO Michigan-native species has a fused pelvic fin. These guys are very aggressive feeders and are very good at outcompeting native gobies.

They're also extremely good at stealing bait off big hooks as people on the docks reel in their lines. In particular, the bastard in the bottom photo stole my bait two days ago, so I caught him and filleted him for Bug.

Today, after acquiring smaller hooks, I went back and got 16 more, and educated several other fishers about their invasive nature. I got two turned over to me by others, and caught 14 more myself.

One man wandered over and asked why I was catching them on purpose. It was too much trouble to explain my feelings about invasive species, so I just told him, one of them stole my bait two days ago. He stopped watching my bobber and boggled at me and goes:

"You're doing this for revenge?"

So now there's some guy in town that thinks I am exacting revenge upon fish kind for a single stolen worm.

They're the people who ALREADY can't afford streaming services. It's not that they should be supporting independent creators over big corporations, it's that they literally cannot afford to do either.

I think what I want to get into with the "Anyone can do harm." thing that I keep beating yall over the head with is that literally anyone, anyone at all can do harm it's not "in your DNA" to be an abuser or written in the stars that you'll be a predator. Whatever image you have of an abuser in your head, drop it and replace it with your favorite person in the world and you'll probably be closer to the truth than you realize. It's easy to address harm when it's coming from someone you already hate. I see it happen all the time. Someone you couldn't stand for no real reason does something heinous then all of a sudden here comes the avalanche of "I always knew they were a fucked up individual." No, you didn't. There is no possible way you could have known, you just already didn't fuck with them before they started doing something you could use to justify your hatred of them. I'm guilty of it too! I'm petty, mean, vindictive, and yes! I'm way quicker to believe something bad about someone I hate versus someone I love because I'm human. Still, y all gotta learn to move past that initial "Well, they were always nice to me!" gut feeling and understand that nobody truly knows anyone and anyone can be capable of anything. Even victims. Even you.
