This is gonna sound weird, but i'll forever be confused by the feedback artists get. I come across a work on ao3 and i'm like "hmm, the writing style is ordinary and the tone is lackluster, it's okay, there's effort put here so i appreciate it. I estimate this having like, 5 comments and maybe 20-something kodus" and then i look and it's got 95 comments, 500+ kodus, 80 bookmarks. And then there are works that have my soul trying to escape my body like "this is unbelievably intricate and complex and gorgeous and it's such unconventional and fresh and creative take, the writer's voice is so unique and delicate and enticing, i bet this is up there in stratosphere with the amount of feedback this has because it's so exceptional in execution" and then i look and it barely has 8 comments, maybe 20-something kodus, and it's just. It's incredibly confusing to me because i always assume that quality execution where the artist's heart is in it is obvious, other people see it like i do, and they most definitely appreciate it like i do. And there are the few people on the cusp of these two categories, people who write well and get a lot of recognition for it, good for them, but 9 out of 10 cases of good writers i stumble upon, they're practically invisible. This is less of a phenomenon in visual arts because people seem to be more freehanded with those, it's an easier medium to navigate i guess. But literature and fanfic? i'll never understand the way people navigate those. Leaving aside the "first 50 popular fics of any ao3 tag are hot dumpster fire" rule of thumb (which is very true, and the number goes higher the more popular something is), the rest of it just feels like lucky strikes to me and not really a matter of quality execution. It's not a lucky strike, it's the fact that people lean towards supporting their friends and people they love rather than judging the actual quality of the work

Tropes 6-11 with Itward

I knowwwww I just said I was gonna be skipping the body trope thing for a lot of these "writing speed runs" the only reason itward gets the body swap trope is because I keep coming back to dumb joke scenarios I used to make last year that.. included body swaps!!

BODY SWAP

He is not at all used to having flesh. He tries to be as gentle with your body as he can be, though that's easy considering itward doesn't take many risks when it comes to you..being in your body is no different. As an added bonus if you've been neglecting yourself he makes sure your body is in tip top shape when its returned.. totally not because he kind of felt like shit when he was inside of it.. that's only partly the reason. You, on the other hand, likely end up bumping your (itwards?) Head on doorways, not at all used to being so tall. You both definitely get a few heads turned your way when your dialects swap, as well as your general mannerisms

UNREQUITED LOVE

You were the one crushing on the skeleton, but given that hes constantly here and there you never get to see him much. You try to work up the courage to tell him how you feel before he runs off again to do... whatever he ends up doing while on his adventures. Hes eventually going to notice that something is going on with you, and hes going to ask. Hes very respectful if he doesnt return your feelings, being firm but mindful and letting you down gently.. he doesnt want this to ruin your friendship, but he would be understanding if you want to stop seeing him

MUTUAL PINING

When he has a crush he tends to get talkative. Very talkative, he just wants to spend time with you and build your bond. This leads to a lot of info dumping, where you take turns talking. He attempts to get into some of the things he knows you enjoy so you have a common talking point. On the flip side, if you want his attention offer to help him with his machines. Hes going to appreciate the help and it gives you his time. Very valuable stuff, you know. If you're available after, he might just ask you to have a cup of tea with him.. just play it cool and it should be smooth sailing!

DRUNKEN CONFESSION

While not a confession in the context that he he has a crush on you and you two arent together yet... but a confession in the way where you two are together but he spills just how much you mean to him. Of course, hes been drinking the special lemonade from ithersta.. sometimes a man needs a drink to wind down..! Very sweet, not really a crying drunk or a loud one. If anything he might get poetic.. though he isnt very graceful.. he just goes on about how hes lucky to have you in his life, how hes grateful that you stick around with him, things like that. Sweet man

SHARING CLOTHES

He catches you wearing his coat. He'd much rather you ask him before getting into his wardrobe, but hes not particularly angry or upset.. did you miss him? Oh you poor thing.. he makes a mental note to put some time aside to spend it with you. Like how he smells? He probably.. smells like..he looks like he would smell like a fireplace, and parchment. With a little hit of oil, of course from his machinery. Hes a little confused, but hes not going to shame you for enjoying his scent

DOMESTIC

Living in the flying ship with itward is a nice life. You both travel a lot, so hopefully you dont mind that.. hopefully you dont get air or motion sick either, as the rocking of the ship is going to be near constant. The home a chaotic sort of mess, though everything fits together to give off a cozy feel.. there isnt much to tidy up, but itward won't stop you from trying to rearrange things. Just let him know first! He does most of the cooking, finding the task calming. Sometimes you both watch the sky, on top of the machine as you two travel

cool so, i was made to go for the first time at around 12/13, and the experience was damaging. so every other time they tried to get me to talk to someone, go to school counselling or seek help not only did i not trust the therapist, i literally wouldnt speak or would try flip the questions on them. HOWEVER, since september 2022 - this march/april i went to a therapist voluntarily just to see if i was wrong, if i could make quicker progress with someones help, or if by having a non biased person to soundboard my thoughts against id find it helpful. heres what i found (:

what i liked:

- i wanted a therapist because i wanted a second opinion. i was around ppl making me think i was some kind of villain or person that i didnt feel i was, and so instead of cutting people out & spiralling or forgiving & overcompensating like i have a tendency to do, i went to someone unbiased to g check me. my therapist did end up giving me that assurance that i wasnt crazy, but also helped me recognise how much i doubt myself, accept bare minimum, or talk myself out of what i feel/want to accommodate/enable others. i knew i had those patterns, but i didnt know to what extent, so for people being gaslit or for those who are prone to abusers / having a warped sense of reality, therapists can really offer that objective, external reassurance that grounds you back into reality without you having to survive a nervous breakdown.

- going also checked my arrogance in thinking i was my one and only saviour. practicing leaning on someone other than me was cool and it was nice to see what that can look like. it also affirmed that i know how to communicate and share (something people at the time were trying to convince me i am not capable of doing)

what i liked less:

- a therapist is not your friend or a replacement for friendship. there were times my therapist would say shit like 'if you ever need someone to talk to im always available' cause i didnt have anyone to talk to. & dont get me wrong, it was super sweet! but .. ultimately, if there was no financial incentive that wouldnt be the case. so i feel like someone more vulnerable or less clued in than me would have heard that and got drawn in, when no matter how cool your therapist is, ultimately the relationship is a business transaction.

- from a spiritual perspective, i feel like therapists know what to tell you according to logic and science, but very few therapists are skilled healers. i dont want to go to someone who helps me rationalise what i think and feel so i can show up as a productive member of this society we live in. i want someone who challenges me to see the truth where id rather buy into soft illusions, and as such helps me show up as an authentic, elevated, expression of me. there were times i was in a session being told something that applied and was smart, but i could tell the therapist didnt even embody that themselves & forgive me for being judgemental, but because they didnt embody it, they couldnt fully understand the consequence of being about the shit they talk about. in that circumstance id rather find an elder whos embodied the lessons their trying to pass on, than someone who only feels comfortable telling me to do what society, their parents, or modern science has understood and approved. sometimes the answer thats right for you isnt a path someone can encourage you toward, you have to find it for yourself. and sometimes, the answer isnt 'self love', 'self work', or gaining a sense of individuality, which is what therapy usually points people toward. sometimes its being in nature, quitting your job, giving service to community, service to nature, service to strangers. healing can mean going off of the beaten oath and therapy doesnt always advocate for that.

- 2 be blunt as fuck, there were times i was simply spending £50 to chat to someone for an hour which is why i no longer go. :/. i personally wanted a therapist so i could gain !!strategies!! that would help me with actually asserting boundaries, & dealing with people who try to violate, in a healthy way. instead i felt like i got an hour session of me talking. maybe that works for some people, but personally i didnt need someone to talk to, vent to, confide in... so it just felt like picking scabs off of closed wounds, whilst someone nods and empathises, but cant give any real indication of how i can change my circumstances or show up differently. then after an hour of bringing up shit you've given me no indication of how to fix, i have to go back into the environment that caused the stress and try not to be triggered or pop off on people. long dayyy

sooo thats how i feel. bare in mind, i am me and i sought out therapy for very specific reasons that may not be your reasons. if you need therapy and thats your path, you need to do whats right for you. however for my needs and where im at right now, i dont feel the need for a therapist. if i came out of processing some heavy shit or was in a place where i needed help or an unbiased voice to check me or reassure me i wouldnt write it off. however i just feel like people need to be self willed and self governed in this life, & the more we tap into what we feel & follow what feels good, the more we know, understand & can walk in wisdomm

Attapoll is a fantastic mobile survey app and always has tons of surveys available. While you may not qualify for all of them, there are always plenty to choose from and the cash doesnt take long building up.

If you're constantly on the go and would prefer a more mobile option, Attapoll is one of my favourites in that department! The minimun cash out depends on which method you choose (Paypal is $3, Revolute is $2.50) and it doesnt take long to build up. Another fantastic mobile one would be Influence! I put this one below Attapoll because personally, I am a little shy and don't like being caught...well, talking lol, but this one pays extremely well for what little work you put into it.

Basically, the meat and potatoes lie in the video surveys. You get paid around .25 for each video response and its generally super simple questions like "What were your shopping habits like this week?" and I usually get multiple per day and it refreshes every single day!

This method by far pays the best. This isnt an app or site you make money off of directly, however its a great way to get your name out there and make money if you have a local/small business in your specific neighborhood or area.

I advertise dogwalking, pet sitting, house sitting, cleaning and other odd job services! You'd be surprised at the amount of people looking for someone to just help out with either moving furniture, or other simple tasks.

Of course you can make a business page, but you can also just browse NextDoor itself and send members in your area messages and offer your services to help them out.

If Im honest, one of my best friendships came from this app and I still clean her house and I look forward to it every week!

My only complaint about this app/site is its not the most functional. Sometimes it doesnt send you a notification when someone messages you or comments on your post so, you'll need to keep an eye on it yourself. I wish they would optimize it a bit better but I suppose its best to take the bad with the good.

It's not peak brain hours for me rn, so I'm going to write everything about the sunah-mjh conspiracy and what it implies (or at least how I understand it) out to organise it in my head. Pls correct me if I've gotten anything wrong or missed anything

So all in all the goal was to plant ga on as a spy/weakness using isaac's face as an in. At first I thought that mjh had been the one to steer ga on towards being a judge, and I still think that's possible, but I don't think he approached ga on solely with the intent to use him tho. Based on his face at the graduation it seems he already knew her before that. She probably approached him and offered him a position as chief justice in exchange for manipulating ga on. (Also, what's his deal resigning then? What does he really want out of all of this?). I don't think he took care of ga on after his parents died solely for that reason tho, bc i think he's established as a friend of ga on's father, which is how they came to know each other.

Ga on would then be used to attack yohan in the future. On a basic level that meant feeding information back to mjh/acquiring evidence of yohan's shady dealings so they could take him down. Along the line yohan and ga on kinda grew attached to each other, which threw off the plan bc now ga on wasn't willing to betray yohan for mjh. However on a deeper level ga on was meant to serve as a weakness for yohan, emotionally, which was made more possible by them getting closer.

Mjh then uses soo hyun to plant doubts in ga on's mind surrounding the church fire. Then, they kill off soo hyun, and mjh uses soo hyun's death and the church fire to plant suspiscion. Yohan pushes ga on off the edge in the end with the death penalty thing, and mjh takes the opportunity to collect the returns on his investment, talking ga on into outing the court as fake. So in the end ga on's attachment to yohan ends up being beneficial to sunah-mjh, bc it drives him to reveal the truth so he can stop yohan from going too far.

It seems like things are over for yohan, but then it turns out the public still supports him, to the point of wanting to make him president. Deciding to go in for the kill, sun ah-mjh trick ga on into thinking yohan did the church fire and killed soo hyun, prompting the stabbing. Now it seems sun ah did this for the added emotional blow, bc she could have just framed yohan and left it at that. Rather she chooses to target what's closest to him, the two people he cares about most. And we reach the tragic conclusion.

Now, what does this mean for ga on's character? We know that at least his friendship with soo hyun came about free from sun ah's plans. It predated his relationship with mjh, so at least we can assume that his interactions with soo hyun were genuine, and her advice to him was as well, though it may have been influenced by mjh. We know that Ga on becoming yohan's associate judge was not a coincidence, but it's not clear if ga on going to the kang mansion was intended by sunahmjh, bc though we know that the foundation planted the bomb it would be a bit of a gamble to assume it would lead to yohan taking ga on to his house. Either way the closeness achieved there and the drive to help yohan and elijah and feel sympathy for them are all things ga on did on his own

As for ga on choosing to side with yohan over mjh. I don't think this was in the plan, bc obviously if ga on changes sides he'll stop leaking info to mjh. So we can assume that that was ga on's decision, influenced of course by yohan. Funny how we all analysed the ways that yohan manipulated ga on while the real manipulation was coming from mjh lol. Then again, while it might not serve mjh's agenda (whatever that is, we actually don't know) it also serves sun ah's agenda in that it makes ga on more of a weakness to yohan, as he grows fonder of him.

I also dont think sunah-mjh accounted for ga on's dark side. Yohan drew that out, and used it to convince ga on of his way of doing things. It seems mjh did put a lot of effort into making ga on the poster boy of 'righteousness', so that he would remain at odds with yohan, so obviously it doesn't work in his favour to have ga on secretly have a dark side that relates to yohan. Additionally, there's no way mjh or sun ah played a role in ga on's parents' death (or is there..? Mjh has been mentioned to be a friend of ga on's father. hmmm), so whatever effects that had on him (I.e. his thirst for revenge) would have been out of their control.

It seems though that when ga on went to yohan's side, they simply changed the plan to account for it. Sow seeds of doubt via soo hyun, then kill soo hyun and make it look like yohan did it. And then yohan himself inadvertently helped by busting out the whole death penalty. In the end it worked out even better for them, bc ga on gained a lot more insider knowledge by going to yohan's side, and again, his concern for yohan also spurred him into action in order to stop yohan from crossing a line he couldn't uncross, the only way that seemed available.

And then when the situation seems to be turning in yohan's favour, they decide to deliver the final blow, both to him and to ga on. It's devastating to yohan because it targets the two people he cares about most, and threatens to reveal the secret he has sacrificed so much to keep, for elijah's sake. And it's devastating to ga on because suddenly it puts his whole life into question, and he's suddenly faced with the realization that a lot of what he's done had been carefully laid out for him in advance, that a lot of his life has been a tool in someone's big plan. And in the process he has lost all the things he had that were real: his relationships with soo hyun, yohan and elijah. Imagine the weight of realising that all the choices you agonised over, that you made because you believed you were doing the right thing, turn out to be the result of careful manipulation from someone you trusted like a parental figure, and that all the things that could have stopped the force behind that figure have been destroyed because of you and those choices.

Overall it's a very insidious and downright evil plan, especially because it hinged a lot on taking advantage of a young man lost in the wake of tragic events in order to steer his life in a direction meant to serve your sick and twisted goals. And then continuing to do so until your plans bear fruition, then shattering his whole world and moving on. All for the purpose of mentally tormenting some guy who wasn't nice to you when you were a maid that stole things from his house

My only issue with all this is how sun ah knew yohan was going to do all the things he was going to do so far in advance that she could plan ga on's career path accordingly? You could argue sun ah planted ga on purely based on her obsession with yohan, not necessarily expecting him to wage war on the elites. She may have then seen the benefit of ga on as a weakness of yohan's when the fight started and played up that aspect of the plan. Or she set up the live court for the express purpose of having yohan and ga on meet? Not clear on this, if anyone has any thoughts help a sister out.

We'll probably get more info in the finale, and I'll update this post if I think of anything new

i think ur right that not every friend has to be an Ultimate Bestie. ive had plenty of friends that i didnt click with on a deep level and just tried not to think about it too much. some friends are for specific activities, like a dnd party or drinking buddies. in that case, i think the decision of whether or not to maintain the friendship should depend on your interest in the activity that the friend is fun for. i dont think its mean. i think everyone does this and people like you and i just overthink it.

i think also if you can have fun with them, just hanging out with whoever's available is fine. i dont think you should try to make it clear that some friends are closer than others, because the friends who are closer probably know that they are.

i dont know. honestly this is something i struggle with; im very bad at maintaining friendships and i tend to dislike most people. we could be friends if you want

Having let the 15 x 18 percolate I started to watch again s23 and ep 1-6 of 15. Basically everything available. I'd gotten tired of feeling toyed with and feeling gaslit when trying to get confirmation from reviews for what I felt I was seeing. Ita very rarely in the dialogue but just in the eye lines and symbolically sometimes in the parallel plots.

Anyway: season 14 is a joy really. The beothere have grown up. I had been dishing the endless desperate loop of I d die for you wearing thin. Sam is basically cooked. A leader in the best sense (using his intelligence and his empathy). Dean accepts it even tho it's a bit new to him not being the boss. (The dialogue on chief)

We get that recognition more explicitly here that I found in my reviews of the early seasons that these are 2 very different men but now they have a degree of comfort and space in that that eluded them. They allow each other to be.

Which brings me to my predictions. Sam may be cooked but Dean isnt. Hes still not worked out who he is and how to have what he wants (cas basically).

So is Dean in love with Cas. Absolutely, i think this has been shown in subtext much more clearly than is Cas in love with Dean (I mean romantically/sexually). With Cas we see loyalty, devotion and affection. For an angel what does love mean? I was never quite sure. Does he want an actual relationship with Dean?

Dean's easier hes clearly incredibly attracted excited fascinated by cas in the initial phase. Then you get the affection, the liking, protectiveness. High point purgatory. Also devotedness.

In later seasons we get heartbroken widower and the co-parents/husbands. Plus their fights start to look more like a bickering couple that anything else.

So I am absolutely convinced that Dean is in love with cas.

But how aware is Dean of how he feels? I think hes so scared if being rejected by cas he can barely admit this to himself. Its telling Michael doesnt know how Dean feels about Cas. Theres lots of gay couples in the background by s23 early e15. I'd say it's an indicator Dean knows hed like to be with cas. Theres been no on screen hook ups for Dean (although there are references). But what we get now is acknowledging that a large part of Dean's flirting is social behaviour rather than sexual intent. It's nice, its charming but he doesnt mean it. (Pamela). So at some level Dean knows he wants to be together with Cas. He knows what he has with Cas. (Telling John he has a family - ok that goes wider than Cas but in my view early spn is Dean trying to grown beyond his father having the white picket fence and the girl always felt like something Dean felt he should want rather than something he really did want. The relationship with lisa is framed with lots of doing the chores and proper manly chores at that)

But I do think Dean knows how he feels. We are back to him having dialogue with Sam (Jess even comes up) with that typical early destiel trope of shots of Dean where I think the implication is that Dean is thinking about the same subject matter in relation to cas.

Sam knows but I think the malak box incident re Dean shows us that Sam knows when not to push Dean. He offers opportunities to open up but he doesnt push his brother. Like I said they get each other better now. It's not like when john dies and sam is pushing and pushing for a conversation. Now as cas and Dean's relationship falls apart we get a lot of pained reaction shots from sam. Just like we sometimes get the oh just kiss already smirk in earlier seasons. Sam doesn't understand why this relationship doesnt progress but he respects both cas and dean and doesnt meddle. I think when dean comes our Sam will be pivotal support.

What's interesting is that e15 as far as I have seen it seems to mirror early spn. Dean is mirroring his father. Obsessed with revenge at all costs. Neglecting love and relationships. The brothers are regressing into their old.relationship patterns under stress of mary dying with Dean taking up his rage filled leadership.role again. But the wierd thing is the endless we dont have a choice. Its tfw they have choice, they are all about choice. In fact Cas is choice embodied. He shouldn't have choice but he does. And over the seasons since the soul consumption he has grown remarkably in handling choices. To the extent that at the end of s14 he no longer refers to Dean's choice making on Jack. That's happened before with Kelly but then it was more ambiguous cos it got Cas dead. Then it was faith, he believes I Jack. With the malak box and Jack its ethics. Cas has grown up. Right through s14 its striking how wise he is, how he draws on experience and knowledge to counsel those around him.

I think there is a sharing of power, of burden, to come. The narrative of we shoulder all this so everyone.else can live the cute life we cant will be transformed. Basically buffy final season.

Cas professing his love for Dean. And by preparing what he wants is something he cant have I think is a totally non ambiguous profession of romantic and sexual love. He has friendship with Dean, he has family. What cas thinks he cant have is more that that. So without the fear of rejection Dean's wall can come down. I'm not sure how aware he is of what he feels because Dean can ne a dumbass, but he definitely feels it. Sam knows and will help once Dean opens up. That will take a while because Dean doesnt open up easily.

And finally a comment on the crying which oddly isnt in many of the fan vids. I think jensen is a great actor when it comes to emotional crying scenes. But we should appreciate that so far we have had weeping - tear tracks slowly with big exposition or dealing with grief wiping at his eyes. Or the meltdown, high octane crying very distressed generally life or death shit with Sam and a lot of emotion. We have never seen Dean crying into his hands like that. Curled up, despairing. I think that's another indicator that Dean absolutely knows how he feels about cas.

One final thing. Cas will be back, we wont have Dean at the end of spn with6the person he loves. Either in this world.or another its gonna happen.

Another thing I suspect is that we see with jack that while cas is the great reliable advice parent he cant bond as quickly emotionally as Dean. Its Dean who, when hes minded has the talent of emotional connection in a way cas and sam dont. The fishing expedition shows us that. Dean has the most trou ped connection to Jack, hes hated him wanted him dead. But hes also the one who gets the sunlit upland of fishing. Same as cas is the one who loves unconditionally when Mary is killed. He hugs jack. So when dean is ready to love cas publicly i think it wont be a huge thing of awkward shuffling feet. It'll be Dean doing what hes good at, loving people, but doing it with cas.

Ok I've only watched til episode 6. Gonna avoid spoilers from noe on and cross my fingers. Cant wait to watch it all.

A Helping Hand [pt 1] [M]

Summary: When sleeping over with Jungkook on tour you find yourself overly excited and unable to sleep so he offers you a hand. And then more than his hand...

Ever since you and Jungkook started hanging out again things just felt different between you. Well, you certainly felt different towards him, and you couldn't pinpoint when that happened.

Two years ago you had a famously huge falling out – or rather a semi public screaming match – at an informal awards show after party with a bunch of famous guests. You accused him of not caring about you at all ever since he got famous.

You'd been feeling ignored by him for some time and that night it came to a head. You'd had too much to drink and watched some model pawing at him while he did nothing to stop her. You were so grossed out so you picked a fight. You waltzed right over to Jungkook and shoved the model aside.

“Hey! What the hell?!” she cried but you hissed at her, making her scurry off in fear of your open hostility.

“Y/N, what the hell was that?” Jungkook asked. He had never seen you attack anyone like that before.

You folded your arms over your chest and told him that you were leaving.

“Why? The party just started,” he said.

“Well, I don't feel comfortable here and I don't have any friends here.”

“I'm here,” he said, looking at you clueless. “BTS is here.”

You scoffed. “BTS are your friends, and youre not really my friend anyway. Not anymore,” You said. Then you went on to rant about how he had changed. 

You said he became a fake snob who only cared about money and fame. He tried to deny it but you said he was never a real friend to you, even though deep down you knew that wasn't true.

When you said that something snapped for Jungkook. You had never seen him get really redfaced screaming mad at anyone before, but he was just that mad at you that night, as he began to recount all the nice things he did for you growing up which you had the nerve to be ungrateful for now. He ran down a stunning list of all the times he had helped you, comforted you, defended you, made sacrifices for you.

“BTS is the only thing I never gave up for you and you can't even stand me having that!” he ranted. “It's not my fault I succeeded! It's not my fault I'm actually good at something unlike you who has quit everything you ever started!”

“Excuse me?!” you cried shrilly.

“Piano? Quit! Ice skating? Quit! Debate team? Quit! Ballet? Quit! Writing? Quit! Spanish club? Quit! The only thing you're good at is quitting!”

Your mouth fell open and your face turned red. How dare he try to turn everything around on you? And in front of his fancy new friends, no less?

“Now you're even quitting our friendship?! Well, go on, go then!” he yelled pointing at the door. “It's not like I didn't see this coming, Quitter!” he yelled at you, eyes blazing.

You couldn't believe the words that came out of his mouth. You huffed and stalked your way to the door before yelling back. “You know what? I do quit you! I'm not your friend anymore, Jeon Jungkook! I never want to see you again!” With that you screamed in fury and stomped out, slamming the door behind you.

True to your word, you didn't speak to Jungkook for eight months. The other members of Bangtan tried to patch up your friendship. They even tricked you into seeing Jungkook on more than one occasion. But you refused to forgive him or talk to him, and you only avoided him, muttering insults like “jerk” and “fake friend” under your breath whenever he tried to come near you. In a way you knew you were being petty but you still couldn't stop.

It was only when Jungkook himself sent you a 5 page long handwritten apology letter from some remote country while he was off on tour that you broke down and cried letting go of your grudge and forgiving him. He even mentioned all the things you didn't quit – like photography, college and singing. 

“You are good at so many things. You're not a quitter and I'm sorry I called you that. I was angry, I felt attacked and I lashed out at you when I should have tried to understand you.”

You called him and apologized too, saying that you were the one to blame for that ugly fight. You simply got too jealous. You'd always had all of his time and attention but you started to feel forgotten. He was always “Y/N's best friend” back home but now Jungkook belonged to Bangtan, ARMY, and the rest of the world. You felt like there was nothing left for you but scraps here and there. You felt like you used to be the first person he thought of, but you had become an afterthought.

Jungkook told you not to be ridiculous. “You will always be my best friend. I love you. I could never just forget you,” he told you.

He had never told you in words that he loved you before and you could not have imagined how sweet the words would sound rolling off his lips. You were so elated that you forgot all about the fight. It was like it never even happened. You started to accept his invitations to fly out to his concerts and hang out with BTS. Once you got closer with the rest of Bangtan you started to feel less like they were taking Jungkook away from you and more like you both had just gained some more friends.

Over time things got good again and you felt as close to Jungkook as before – or maybe even closer.

You didn't know if it was because his appearance had changed a lot over the past couple years or because it had been a while since you'd been around him a lot, but he was suddenly just incredibly attractive to you. Each time you saw him you ended up in an aroused state somehow, usually having to take care of yourself at the end of the day once you were finally alone.

Trying not to worsen his effect on you, you tried to keep Jungkook at a bit of a distance, forbidding him from his usual behaviors of jumping on you and tickling you or showing excessive skinship, since it only turned you on now.

“We're not kids anymore,” you'd complain and push him off you, but he would only pout and beg for cuddles until you caved, letting him wrap himself around you and smother you with affection. 

“Don't fight it, you need this. Wouldn't want you getting lonely again,” he would tease, and you couldn't deny it was true. When you didn't get enough attention from Jungkook you didn't even feel like yourself anymore.

So, many nights were spent in awkward situations that Jungkook didn't know were awkward for you. He thought it was fine for you to sit on his lap when there were no available chairs. He thought it was fine to just wrap his arms around you whenever you looked cold or  to run his nose along your neck as a prank just to watch you gasp and turn red.

He thought it was fine to ask you to go swimming with him and wear no shirt and the skimpiest trunks imaginable, showing off his broad chest, perky pecs, trim waist, washboard stomach, muscular legs and impressive dickprint. 

(Yes, you looked. You'd always heard that dicks got smaller in cool water but there was no water cold enough to diminish the majesty of what Jungkook was packing.)

He also thought it was fine for you to sleep in his tiny bunk with him on the tour bus and in his hotel room beds with him. When you went on the tour the others split rooms as usual, but he shared a single room with just you.

“Otherwise, you'll complain that you don't get your 'alone time' with me,” he explained teasingly. “Dont wanna be 'quit' by you again.”

“Shut up Jungkook,” was all you said with a pout.

You spent a lot of torturous nights lying awake sleepless horny and agitated while Jungkook dozed next to you angelically, peacefully unaware of your inner struggles with your libido.

Having you in his bed didn't ever seem to bother him at all. He never lost sleep and would even turn over and cuddle you in the night, never knowing how you laid there eyes wide open thinking that you were in some type of heaven/hell hybrid.

You wondered if you should just tell Jungkook that your feelings towards him had changed somehow but you were too chicken. Still, you had to do something to alleviate your struggles. So you started bringing along a toy for yourself whenever you went to visit him.

It was a small red bullet – shiny, compact, powerful and could get you off lightning fast - the only problem was that it buzzed audibly so you had to take extra care not to let him hear you using it. You didn't want him to find out about it or notice how many times you had to use it – which seemed to grow increasingly more each trip.

One night you were staying with Jungkook in New York City and you were having a particularly hormonal time. Jungkook was looking particularly handsome and your period would be starting in a week, meaning it was the horniest time of the month for you. 

All you could think about was how much you'd love to be rammed into oblivion and Jungkook wasn't making things any easier by being cute and charming while always hanging on you.

Everything he did said and wore made you miserable. You could hardly talk to him, for fear that you would say something inappropriate and expose yourself.

“You've been really quiet today. Are you mad at me again?” Jungkook asked you quietly while you were at a nice restaurant eating dinner with the others.

“No. Of course not, Kookie,” you said, taking his hand under the table and smiling at him reassuringly. Or at least, you thought it was a reassuring look but there must have been something else there too because he looked deeply into your eyes and he apparently saw something he liked because he linked his fingers with yours. 

The simple act made you feel all horny again, longing to have his hand in more interesting areas of your anatomy and thinking about how much you'd like it if your entire bodies were entwined like that, but then you quickly pushed that thought down.

Jungkook smirked, letting out a pleased little hum.

“What?” you asked, feeling self conscious.

“Nothing,” he said and squeezed your hand before letting it go and continuing to eat.

Later that night you were getting ready for bed, preparing for your turn in the bathroom, when Jungkook strolled out of the bathroom shirtless and fresh from the shower wearing nothing but a towel tucked around his waist.

Your hear rate accelerated. Your mouth filled with drool. It wasn't anything you hadn't seen before but just knowing he was totally naked under that towel had your pussy quivering. The way his dark wet hair framed his face and dripped water droplets down his sexy chest made your mouth go dry and you licked your lips. Why would he do this to you?

'Jesus Christ,' you thought to yourself as you chewed on your lower lip, your head tilting as he walked over to the closet to pick out something to sleep in. He glanced back over his shoulder and you managed to quickly tear your eyes away from the sight of his firm ass beneath nothing but white.

“What's up?” he asked, as he dried his hair with an excess towel. You could have sworn that you saw mischief dancing in his dark orbs. Did he know what you were thinking? Or what you were feeling? Was he, perhaps, doing this on purpose? Showing off because he knew about your problem? No, he couldn't possibly know! And you needed to keep it that way.

“Nothing's up. I-I'm gonna go shower now,” you stammered out, hopping up from the bed and picking up your overnight bag.

“Okay, I'll be right here waiting for you,” he said seductively and winked at you.

You paused wondering if you had really just seen that (or heard that). “Did you just wink at me?” you asked.

“No,” he said innocently. “Why would I do that?”

'Okay I'm officially going crazy!' you thought, and you dashed into the bathroom and locked the door behind you, rummaging through your bag for your much needed toy.

A fic about arthur and eames and their first meeting in the military to all their other meetings in the criminal underworld of dreamshare. not that long, i'm aiming for 2.5k or maybe 3k if i can. i wanted to focus on their totems and how eames could use forging as a totem (because if he can't forge then he must be awake, right?) but he has a totem just in case. and arthur has a totem (the die from the movie) that he uses a lot more except when he happens to be taken and tortured for some secret or another and the only thing that convinces his brain that he isn't dreaming is the way eames stands when arthur aims a gun at him? if that makes sense....

here's a little bit of what i have written so far:

he’s more surprised at the lack of surprise he feels when eames digs a poker chip out of his desk. its blood red with gold and white accents, worth five thousand dollars at the particular casino it came from, disregarding the fact that it was arthur’s shitty first and last attempt at a real world forge after he participated in a poker game eames held on base many years ago and realized half the chips in the set were fake, pocketing a one thousand dollar chip to use as a reference.

“our totems match,” eames murmurs, flipping the chip over his knuckles with a concentration a bit too intense for something he could do in his sleep (ha).

“match how?” he asks, sipping a glass of orange juice, freshly squeezed because eames wanted to use the electric juicer. he's tempted to pull out his die from his pocket and roll to see it land on five, even though he knows this isn’t a dream.

“i have something that you made, and you have something i made. also, there’s some significance with the number five.”

They've always gone into dreams for short amounts of time and always with another person, so there's no chance of someone forgetting their reality. Mal's friend Pip has consistently been pushing the boundaries of dreaming, and one day she decides to go a later deeper without Mal. When Mal wakes up, she realizes that Pip is still asleep and she has to go down after her where she basically incepts Pip with the idea of totems.

The moon leaned back on his elbows and stared up at the sky. "Same way I can be in the lake and the sky at the same time."

Arthur frowned. "That's not the same thing. The lake's just reflecting the light from the moon. From you."

The moon turned to smile brightly at him. "Well aren't you a smart one, hm?" He leaned in and whispered, "I'm a reflection, too. We all are, at the end of the day."

Arthur thought about that. It didn't make sense, but that didn't mean it was wrong. He looked up at the moon in the sky, then at the moon sitting next to him.

"My name's Arthur," he offered. "What's your name?"

The moon looked at him strangely. "Eames. You can call me Eames."

"I'm going to be an astronaut, Eames," Arthur said. "Then I can come and visit you in the sky."

Eames smiled again. Arthur wouldn't have thought the moon liked to smile. "I would like that very much," Eames said. "Very much, indeed."

- Arthur being frustrated because Eames is a) distracting, and b) not easily scared, which doesn’t look good for his job. And it annoys him because he has a track record of being able to freak out anyone. He takes it upon himself to make him scream at least once (I haven’t decided how he does, but he does, eventually. Eames probably jokes about screaming with something other than fear, but i am too babey to write any sexytimes)

Dumbass Drunk College Students coming in all wanting to prove to their friends that they're the Alpha Male, picking a fight and being super violent/rowdy/destructive, + arthur getting hurt/generally kind of shaken up; that’s the first night he lets eames really talk to him outside of the job, maybe even lets him take him home (i dont know if im including this scene for sure but..perhaps)

- Ariadne getting them banned from the haunted house after reflexively slapping Arthur in the face with a rubber snake (Cobb takes the ‘no touching the actors’ rule seriously—especially after what happened^). Eames thinks he’s lost his chance for good, but Arthur finds him outside and finally makes the first move :)

12. Arthur is in love with Eames, and he's pretty sure Eames is at least interested in him back. Only problem? Arthur is ace, and not at all sure how Eames is going to react to that. But Arthur's going to talk to him about it, because the alternative is to lose even his friendship with the forger, and that's just not on.

Only the team is also determined to set the two of them up. Will that end up being a wrecking ball to Arthur's fragile attempts at making things work with Eames?

STORY OUTLINE:

Arthur is ace, and no one knows. When Eames invites Arthur to join him for Christmas, Arthur panics and says no - and spends the whole of Christmas regretting it. The team comes back from Christmas break, and everything is awkward. Arthur knows he has to say something or ruin his relationship with Eames forever, and he's going to do that at the New Year's party where Eames will hopefully be in a good enough

But unbeknownst to him, he's not the only one who's realized something needs to happen. Cobb, Ariadne and Yusuf agree that an intervention is in order. And when better to set their two friends up than at New Years? Get them kissing and surely the tension between them will resolve itself.

What could possibly go wrong?

At the New Year's party, Ariadne suggests playing a game of spin the bottle. Arthur is less than enthused, but Cobb and Yusuf both back up the idea. They play a few rounds before it lands on Eames, whom Ariadne dares to make out with Arthur.

There's an awkward beat before Eames moves to do it. Arthur reacts by freezing and shying away physically. Eames takes this a rejection and leaves the room. Arthur sits there, frozen, and then leaves too.

He goes to the bathroom and breaks down, blaming himself for being so stupid and backwards. Eames hears him, and comes in and comforts him. Once Eames realizes what the problem is - that Arthur is ace - he promises Arthur that it doesn't matter to him, he just wants to be close to him. Cue happy end credits.

I tend to imagine that Hanako considers his fate worse than death and worse than being gone forever, and at least in my writing, part of why he refuses to acknowledge his feelings for Nene is because he's afraid her liking him will tether her to the near shore when she dies and she'll be like him, unable to move on, existing miserable here forever

and he doesnt want that for her

that's why it's so so so important to Hanako that she doesn't die and she grows up and has loads of experiences and loves people who arent him and never ever thinks about him once she leaves the school

I tend to characterize Hanako's life as deeply codependent. Tsukasa made it difficult for Hanako to form other relationships and that lack of outside relationships made Hanako even more dependent on his relationship with Tsukasa despite how unhinged Tsukasa's behavior came to be.   On the one hand killing Tsukasa completely freed him from the one force in his life that isolated him from everything. On the other hand killing Tsukasa took away the person who Hanako believed was the only person who could possibly love him. The only person he felt ever did love him.

AND YOU KNOW 60 years on his own has really helped with that but some old habits die hard. He’s not out here embracing the kinship that’s available to him.

I don't know that Hanako has a clear sense of a what a healthy relationship feels like

which maybe explains his lack of boundaries and the lack of care he has for others' feelings, particularly early in the story

These things weren’t focal points in the singular primary relationship he built his life around

So he's out here dead af and nothing matters and yet he's still trying to live. He's still trying to learn these things and figure out how to be a good friend even though he has no reason to since his life is well past over.  All the brooding and being difficult and being unwilling to connect is kind of an expression of these growing pains, I think. At least sometimes.  

He wants connection more than anything, but he sees himself as undeserving of it. Worse, he sees himself as something that can taint the living, so it’s hard to chase those friendships even though he’s absolutely desperate for them.

Starco vs Janco

Star sat at the table with her head leaning against her hand. Students passed by with their trays of food. Her friends sat with her, talking about their lackluster class, TV shows they saw last night, the amount of homework they were assigned, and other various topics Star didn't care to pay attention to. Today was one of the rare times she chose not to engage in conversation with her friends. She was too busy mindlessly doodling in her notebook, not because she grew bored of the topic. In fact, Star always had something to contribute to the conversation. She loved talking! It's just that… well, she just had her mind focused on something else.

Or rather, someone else.

Star's been developing feelings for her best friend since that Mewberty incident, and it didn't take her long to realize what was going on. She denied feeling anything for Marco other than a platonic friendship in fear it would ruin their very unique relationship, but as time passed by, her crush for Oskar shifted to her best friend. She laughed it off at first, thinking how silly the whole situation was and that she'd be over Marco in a few days. Star tried to pretend it wasn't there and forced herself to look at other boys and see if she could form a crush on one of them, but none of them impressed her. Not even Oskar. It only made her want to be with Marco even more. It annoyed her because she wasn't ready for that kind of relationship with her best friend. She was afraid things wouldn't work out and their status as best friends would disappear and they would never talk to each other again. So instead, she suppressed her feelings for Marco, and only wrote about it in her secret journal. Of course, during class, she'd start going off in her own thoughts and start drawing or writing about the possibilities of a Starco relationship. She'd be extra careful to keep those close to her and not let anyone see-

"How about you, Star?"

Star jumped in her seat, covering her drawings with her arms. She met with two sets of eyes staring at her. "Huh?"

"I said do you think you can make it?" Jackie asked.

"..."

"This weekend?"

"..."

"...Movies?"

The princess seemed confused for a moment before coming back to reality. "Ohhhhh! Uh- yeah, movies! Um… That sounds good! I can totally do that! Haha…"

Jackie smiled. "Alright, sweet. Guess we got ourselves a plan."

"You sure are getting distracted, Star. You okay?" Janna asked.

"Yeah, everything alright?"

Star scoffed, waving her hands. "Pfft, yeah of course! Why would you think something's wrong?"

"Well, for starters, you're clearly hiding something in your notebook..."

The princess looked down to see herself covering the book with her entire body. She blushed a bit, sitting comfortably back in her seat, bringing the drawing closer to her. "Well…" she started. "You never know. A monster could come out of nowhere and steal my wand like they usually do! They might destroy my notes!"

Janna spoke up. "I don't know, Star. No offense, but you don't usually take notes during class. Or… try at all, really."

"Wha- I try!"

"You drew cats on your math test."

"You handed in a paper on Mewni corn for biology."

"You tried to go to another dimension in the middle of class."

Star opened her mouth but had nothing to retort. "...Uhhhh…. I was bored?" she answered with a shrug.

Jackie chuckled. "Well, you can say that, but still doesn't explain why you're hiding your notebook like that."

"...Orrr maybe you're talking about your little crush in that notebook," Janna suggested.

Star felt her face turn hot as the attention turned to her. A crush? She can't tell them about how she felt about Marco! That'd make things way more complicated than it has to be. "I-I dont know what you're talking about. You guys are probably imagining things. I don't have a crush."

Jackie pointed to her cheeks. "Your glowing hearts say you do."

She quickly brought her hands to her face, cursing at her birthmarks. "I'm telling you, I don't have a crush on Marco!"

"Who said anything about Marco?" Janna pointed out.

The princess's heart stopped. Oops. "I-I didn't- I mean… I- that was- well-"

Jackie tilted her head. "Ohhh, so you admit it? You guys are dating!"

Star waved her hands, trying to defend herself. "No no no no no! I don't! Really! Besides, he likes you after all-" She covered her mouth. Oops again. She didn't mean to spill Marco's secret like that. Both Jackie and Janna looked at each other. "Please, don't tell Marco I said that!"

The two human girls seemed confused, keeping silent for a moment before Janna started, "I think you have it wrong, Star."

"What do you mean?"

Jackie chimed in. "You do know he's over me, right?" she said with a hint of sadness. The girl didn't seem too bothered by it though. She accepted the facts and moved on.

"He… is?" Star asked in disbelief that her best friend didn't tell her something as important as that to her. She felt a bit betrayed. Marco told her everything! "I'm… sorry to hear that." Star genuinely meant it, but she couldn't help but feel a bit of happiness at the same time.

"Yeah. No big deal though, so don't worry about it."

"So… who does he like now?"

The two girls glanced at each other again before looking back at the princess. "You're… joking, right? I mean…" Jackie trailed off, unsure of what to say.

"It's… kind of obvious, isn't it?" Janna asked.

"He kinda said it outloud one time."

Star grew slightly annoyed at the seemingly obvious answer that everyone already knew. "What? When? Who does he like?"

The girls were silent. They weren't sure what to say next, but a subtle smile appeared on Janna. "Oh? Getting curious, are we?"

Star's cheeks grew more red, her hearts glowing even more. "No! I mean, yes. I just… want to know. As his best friend, it's my duty to make sure he's as happy as can be!"

"Right. 'Best friends'." Janna said with a smirk.

"Janna!"

Jackie laughed. "Don't worry, Star. I don't think you have anything to worry about. The point is, Marco's available. So a certain someone could make a move," she suggested, hinting at Star.

The thought of her and Marco together as a couple filled the princess with joy and excitement. Maybe it could happen!

"But…" Janna continued.

Star's daydream was cut short at the sudden catch. "But?"

"Well, you got some competition. And you know what they say about love and war."

Star didn't quite understand what Jackie was trying to say. "No. Competition? Love and war? What does love and war have to do with each other?"

Janna responded. "Love is a battlefield. Do anything you can to win. And sorry to tell you this, Star, but I plan on winning. Friend or no friend," she said with a smirk. She held out her hand to Star.

It took a second to process what Janna meant before the princess understood what she was saying. "Ohhhh…. Okay…. Well, sorry to tell you this, Janna, but I also plan on winning," Star accepted the terms she was offering, shaking her hand.

First to Marco's heart wins.

"Yyyyeah, I think I'm gonna sit this one out, but good luck to both of you," Jackie said as she watched her friends begin their competition.

Star went back to her drawing, making her subtle depiction of her and Marco more refined when it dawned on her. Star slowed her pencil to a complete stop as the realization set in her mind. She had to confess to her best friend.

"Uh-oh…"

"Stupid stupid stupid stupid Star!" The princess scolded herself as she trailed behind the very boy she was supposed to win over. The two walked through the halls as the final bell rang, signalling that the day was over and the students were free at last. She felt her heart race at the challenge she just accepted from Janna. "Am I crazy!?" she muttered to herself. "I already decided not to do anything like that! I might not be friends with Marco anymore if it doesn't work out! I can't live like that!"

"I gotta say, Star, your angry whispering is kind of making me nervous. You're not trying out that new spell Glossaryck showed you, are you?" Marco asked as he looked behind him to see why Star seemed so distracted.

Star looked up, making eye contact with his chocolate colored eyes. "O-oh, no I'm fine. Just… uh… thinking about that one history class! Ugh, so boring."

Marco smiled. "Yeah, it's not my favorite class either. At least you stayed awake this time."

"Thanks to that extra sugar pack I had. I'm telling you, Marco, you should try some sugar burritos! It's totally the best thing ever-"

"Yeah, no thanks. I like my food pure and holy."

Star scoffed. "Please, Marco, It's hardly the worst thing in the universe to eat."

"No, but it is-"

"Hey, Marco. Star." The two friends stopped to see a certain beanie wearing girl leaning against the lockers. "Fancy meeting you here."

Marco sighed. "Hey, Janna."

Star was cautious. She recalled their challenge and decided to keep a careful eye on her friend. She chose her words carefully, hinting at an underlying message with each question. "Hey, Janna. What's up?" What are you up to?

Her rival had no trouble understanding the message. "Not much. Just thought I'd say hi to my friends." I'm here to see if you made your move yet.

"Awww, that's so sweet! We're actually going downtown to eat grab some food, right now." No, I didn't. Don't interrupt my attempt!

"Ohhh, that sounds fun. Better hurry, though. I hear they're gonna close early today." Better do it fast, or else.

Star feigned a smile at her friend, who simply smirked at the princess' reaction. She began to understand the 'all's fair in love and war' idea. Janna would try at Marco's heart, even if Star was in the middle of her attempt. She assumed that this was Janna's way of warning her of how she's planning on playing this game. Fair enough. Star accepted the challenge.

"Are you sure about that Janna?" Marco asked. "I don't think there's anything special going on at the store," he commented, completely oblivious to what was going on.

"Eh. Just a hunch. Anyway, I should get going. I hope you guys get what you need." I hope you win him over, or else I will.

With that, the dark haired girl left, leaving the two best friends in the middle of the hallway.

"You know, I was kind of expecting her to mess with me somehow… like she usually does…" Marco said with both relief and annoyance.

Star nervously laughed. "I'm sure Janna was just saying hi." She cleared her throat and skipped ahead, pulling Marco along. "C'mon, let's go get some food!"

"Ooohhhhhh Marcoooooo~!" Star sang aloud.

"Ohhhhhhhh Staaarrrrrr~" Marco responded in kind.

"Come heeeerrrrrreeeeee!"

"Okaaaayyyyyyyyy!" The boy entered the kitchen. "What's up, Sta….aaar….." He scanned the room, seeing what looked like a warzone of food splattered everywhere, from the floor to the ceiling. "Starrrr? What did you do?"

"Look, Marco! I made something for you!" She ignored his question and presented a bowl of…. something edible… possibly… Needless to say, it definitely didn't look very appetizing.

"Um… w-what is this?" Marco asked, taking a step back from the bowl of 'food'.

"It's pizza!" the princess proudly answered.

Marco looked at her in shock. "Pizza!?" The mass of ingredients looked nothing like pizza! Why does it look like everything from the refrigerator mashed into one lump? Why did she suddenly have the urge to make pizza when they could've ordered it? WHY DID SHE MAKE PIZZA IN A BOWL?

"Weeellll? Aren't you going to take a taste?" Star asked excitedly. She was sure this would win Marco's heart. After all, food is the best way to get to a man.

The boy gently pushed it back. "Uhhh… you know, I'm really full from lunch still, and I should really save my appetite for dinner-"

"Awww, Marco, pleeeeaaaaase?" The princess gave her best puppy eyes.

Marco hesitated before giving in, taking the bowl and spoon from her. "...Well… here goes nothing."

Star's eyes widened as he brought a spoonful of her pizza into his mouth. "Weeeellllll? What do you think? Pretty good, right?"

Marco was frozen in place, the spoon still in his mouth.

"...Marco?"

"..."

He collapsed.

"Star, we went through twelve different dimensions. What are you looking for?"

"Uhhh, just… you know, something…"

"That's specific…" Marco muttered. "Maybe we should-"

"RAWR!" Suddenly, a poorly crafted monster suit jumped out of a nearby bushes.

"Ahhh, don't worry, Marco! I'll save you!" Star said in a somewhat monotone voice. Her previous attempt didn't work out very well, considering her meal left Marco unconscious for several hours. This time, she would have a monster come and attack the two, she would save Marco (again), and possibly have him fall in love with her. Of course, she didn't want Marco to actually get hurt, so she asked one of Marco's friends.

...It's bound to work better than her pizza idea, right?

"Back, you monster!" She swung at the fake monster, not using any real magic.

"RAWR- ow! Hey that hurt."

"Shhh! Be quiet, Ferguson. You're going give it away!" she whispered anrily. "Don't make me use my spider with a tophat, you beast! Get out of here, Marco! It's too dangerous!"

Marco waved. "Hey Ferguson."

"Hi Marco- Ow!"

"Ferguson!" Star glared at the boy. He shrugged, smiling apologetically. She sighed. Time for a new plan.

Star opened her locker, pulling out the books she needed for the next class. She had some trouble thinking of what her next move would be. Cooking was out, dimension hopping wasn't as romantic as she thought, monster fighting was a no…

"Why can't I think of anything! We do everything together! It should be easy!" She stopped herself. That's right… they did everything together. They talked, ate, and adventured everywhere. Never once have they done something without the other. Well, there were a few special cases, but there was no room for a romantic attempt. There was nothing unique she could do… except tell him the truth. Star began to panic. "Oh no… no no no no no, that's too direct. Gotta be something else I can do…"

"Make any progress, Star?"

She jumped at the sudden question. She closed her locker to see Janna standing behind it. "Janna?"

"Hmm… by the way you're panicking, I'd say no."

Star sighed. "It's harder than it seems, Janna."

The girl chuckled. "Yeah, I know. I do it all the time, remember?"

"Uuugh, I can't get anywhere with Marco! We already do everything together so I can't make things special!"

"Well, you better think of something fast, or I'll have to take charge," Janna threatened.

That caught Star's attention. She moved closer to Janna, her eyes pleading her not to do anything yet. "Pleeeaaaaaase let me have some more time!"

"Mmmmm… no."

"But Janna, we're friends! I just need a little time to-"

"Love and war, Star. I already gave you plenty of time to do it yourself, remember?"

The princess grew more annoyed at her friend's stubborness. "Why do you like him anyway?"

Janna thought for a moment before shrugging. "I dunno."

"Janna!"

"What? I just do. I think that's reason enough."

"That's not a reason!"

"Sure it is. And you're gonna lose this game soon if you don't get a move on." Star didn't appreciate Janna's reminder. She knew she had to move quick or Janna was going to do whatever it is she needs to do to win Marco over. Janna's eyes widened before giving a mischievous smirk. "So, why do you like Marco? Because he's cute?"

Star's hearts began to glow on her cheeks. "U-uh… I'm sure you can imagine…"

"No, I don't. Why do you like Marco, Star?" she repeated.

"Well… he's kind, he's funny, he's lovable, he's… ahem… handsome… he's the best friend I ever had… and after spending so much time with him, I just… kind of… started to like him. More than a bestie should… That answer your question?"

Janna smiled. "I think it does. How about you, Marco? You get all that?"

Star's heart nearly jumped out of her chest as she turned around to face Marco. "M-Marco! I- we- Janna and I were just… just… playing a game! Yeah!"

"Oh, we were playing a game alright," Janna snickered, trying to contain herself.

"Um…. sooooo….. how's your day going?" Star asked innocently, trying to keep herself composed.

Marco was unconvinced. "What were you two talking about…?"

"Yeah, Star. What were we talking about?" Janna chimed in, still laughing.

The princess tried to think of a way out of this mess, but couldn't think of a plausible excuse. "We… were… talking about… uh..." She continued to postpone the answer, dragging every second out.

Janna finally stopped her laughing and answered for her. "We were talking about how she has a major crush on you and everything."

Star stared at Janna, shocked that she actually said the truth.

It was over. Now Marco knew. And he probably won't want to speak to her again.

So ends the best friendship she ever had.

"That's all?" Marco asked.

Star was… surprised at his response. "What do you… what- but… I- you just found out that I like you, Marco! What do you mean, 'that's it'?"

Marco shrugged. "Well, I didn't just find out. We're already boyfriend and girlfriend, aren't we?"

Star stared at Marco, both in confusion and shock.

"...We… are boyfriend and girlfriend, aren't we?" he asked again, this time more concerned that Star was having second thoughts.

The princess was utterly confused. Her… and Marco? Boyfriend and girlfriend? She turned to Janna who couldn't stop laughing. "I-I can't take this anymore, hahaha! I'll leave you two lovebirds alone!"

Janna walked away to her next class, leaving the two best friends behind.

"You and I… are together?"

"Remember? I confessed to you and asked if you'd be my girlfriend?" Marco started. Star simply stared at Marco in disbelief. "...Star, were you listening to me when I said all this a week ago?"

"Uhhhhh…."

"When we were in that mirror dimension?"

"..."

"We were being chased by a monster and I confessed because I thought we were going to die?"

"..."

Marco sighed, a slight blush appearing on his face. "Well… lemme try again… Star… I really like you and… would you be my girlfr-"

He was cut off by a pair of lips. He was stunned to see Star kissing him so suddenly, but quickly melted into it. She wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him with all her bottled up emotions.

Finally.

They parted, their faces red with embarrassment. They stared into each other's loving eyes, coming closer once again. As they were about to kiss again, Marco quietly spoke up…
