Alrighty,, for Error, he gets a smooch-ability rating of 5 out of 12, mostly because of his temper and how poorly he could react to the sudden physical contact

1) How dangerous is his mouth? Even though Error doesn’t have sharp or jagged teeth, I don’t think I’d say his mouth is 100% safe. He glitches occasionally, so if he happened to glitch just as your lips pressed against him, you could either A) get a little light sting or zap from it, or B) you could temporarily phase through him a little bit. Since glitching puts the solidity of his body up for interpretation, there’s a small chance that glitching means that for that short moment, he’s not entirely solid. That’s more awkward than dangerous, but the stinging or zapping, however, we know nothing about. We don’t know if it’s a canon thing that could happen, and if it was, we don’t know how intense it’d be. If it does happen, there’s a chance that that could put you in a very brief world of pain. I’ll only give 1 point for this, since it’s mostly speculatory

2) Would Error bite, and is he aggressive? I can already tell you that yes, he’s aggressive. He’s the self proclaimed Destroyer, he has a horrid temper and too much power at his disposal, and we know he’s guilty of kidnapping people and holding them in the antivoid (such as the case with Blueberry/Blueberror). His job in the multiverse is destroying AUs, even if those AUs are harmless and contain countless innocent lives. Hurting people and killing seems to be part of his job description, if I’m being honest. As for if he’d bite, I mean… he destroys AUs, sometimes just because he feels like it, so yes, I think he would bite. He’s killed people, so what would stop him from biting? Nothing. He could bite if he chose to, and if he felt it was necessary. For this, he gets 0 points

3) Are there any health hazards for the smoocher? His tremendous amount of magic and his threads could be seen as health hazards, unfortunately. When you pair them with his temper, the risk becomes significantly greater. He doesn’t leak any gross fluids or anything, but unless he leaves the antivoid to go places and take showers every so often, he’s probably got some pretty questionable hygiene. For this, I think it’d be reasonable to say that he doesn’t get any points. His body itself is a weapon that he regularly uses to take lives and cause destruction, and we don’t know how clean he actually is, which is a little yucky to think about

4) Is his backstory sympathetic? He started off as Geno, trapped in the save screen and unable to leave. He was completely alone and hearing voices for god knows how long, then the antivoid changed him in every sense of the word. He wasn’t Geno anymore, he became Error. From the bits and pieces of information that I can remember about him, the process of becoming Error was incredibly painful because of all the physical changes his body underwent. He’s so afraid of physical touch that it became full on haphephobia, and touch itself hurts him, so he can’t even be physically comforted with things like hugs or pats on the back without suffering. Another piece of information I distinctly remember reading was that when he became Error, he was angry and felt like he’d been wronged somehow right from the get-go. Those were residual feelings leftover from Geno that became a core part of himself, so even if he can’t remember why he feels that way, he just does, and he can’t do anything about it. All he’s got to pacify those feelings is Undernovela and chocolate. Admittedly, it’s a bit difficult to feel sympathetic for someone who seems to enjoy destroying things and killing people, but all things considered, yeah, I feel like his backstory earns him at least 1 point

5) Does he deserve a smooch? For trauma and mental health reasons, yes, but in general, I don’t think so. He’s been through a lot and continues to go through a lot, as long as he continues collaborating with Nightmare and having to deal with Ink and Fresh, but it doesn’t excuse what he does or the kind of person he’s turned into. You could argue that it’s not his fault, and that he didn’t have a say in how he became the Error that we know and love, which… no, that’s not his fault and nothing he could’ve done would’ve prevented that from happening to him, but as things currently stand, he keeps fighting and causing problems, rather than exercising self control and just leaving things be. For this area, I’ll say he gets maybe 1 point, because of his poor mental health and how he wasn’t in control of what happened to him

6) Is he cute or cool? I’m not sure if I’d say he’s a cutesy character, but his unique design, clothing choices, and abilities definitely allow for some cool points here. Honestly, I’m just fascinated by glitches and how they function as opposed to regular skeletons or other outcodes. It feels like a biology/anatomy thing, and the nerd part of me is a sucker for anatomical weirdness and trying to understand how different things work and why they do what they do, so. Anyway. I’ll give Error 2 points for coolness, since he’s very well designed and is a walking enigma to (probably) most people

In total, his smooch-ability rating is 5 out of 12. There’s a very slight chance that you could smooch him, but if he doesn’t glitch at a bad moment and sting or zap you, then the physical contact would tip off his haphepobia and result in him panicking and lashing out, using anger to hide the initial panic. Lashing out in that moment could be solely verbal, but there’s more of a chance than not that he’d snatch you up with his threads. If he didn’t kill you in that moment, I’d be very surprised, considering how impulsive he can be

i've been weirded out by the characterization of izzy for the last few episodes, but been like. ok sure, they turned him into a good guy, he's not nearly as intresting anymore but whatever, they clearly wanted more of an arc for him but we all know the budget was small. okay.

HOWEVER episode 7 was really the last straw for me. Specifically the scene with Ed by the fishing boats.

"Do you know what I did this morning, bright and early?"

"Made your boyfriend blush?"

I literally flinched at the choice of words, because we all remember the last time Izzy called Stede Ed's boyfriend, and I was really surprised that they would call attention to it. So far, the way they've handled Izzy has been by saying He's Chill Now Guys, let's not talk about anything he has done lol!! And while I dont like that as a writing choice, I could swallow it as long as they made it relatively believable. But by referencing a specific scene that carried a large narrative purpose and having the character who was most affected by it (Ed) not react at all is breaking the suspension of disbelief in a big way. The writing in this show is usually so solid that it makes this even stranger?? They could very easily gone with the line "made Bonnet blush" instead.

This season is big on parallells, which makes it even more unlikely that this was a mistake, and that just feels....yucky. If the purpose of the callback is to show that Ed can smile about it now, that izzy is no longer making homophobic death threats being antagonistic, they have patched things up, it just doesn't work when we have seen nothing to lead up to that development. Izzy's 180° change in attitude is weird on it's own, but Ed's content indifference to it? I would rather have no callback at all then having that moment be acknowledged but apparently not mattering anymore. It left a sour taste in my mouth, is all.

Just wanted to share a photobash/digital sketch of my current project. I feel like such a phony since this is what a lot of my more finished pieces are starting out like, but I probably shouldn't because I still have to finish by hand. Work like this goes way faster when I'm not spending a bunch of time trying to freehand copy the photo reference. I took all of the photos myself, so no need to worry about copyright from following the reference so closely. I probably will need to adjust lighting on this but surprisingly they're all pretty close, I think.

This is based on a moment from Truly's last day. I let her outside and she was standing in my yard just past a big wild sunflower and I was like aww, that'd be a nice image. I don't think I had my phone on me and it was overcast and yucky out anyway. Here are some little doodles I a few days later so I'd remember.

If I like doing this, I might offer commissions in a similar style. I just...need to learn how to organize plants and not give up on the complexity of flowers, lol. Planned mediums are watercolor and ink, with potential for colored pencil and gouache.

ugh this is gonna be hard for most without going back through their entire discography, but I'm gonna try me best here. I want to point out that I have always, since getting into rock and metal as a middle schooler, been deeply more prone to recognizing and remembering guitar work and obviously the vocals; it's not a conscious choice, it's just what my brain does, but it does make this a much more difficult question for every single thing besides guitar. So, I'll start with guitar!

So my mind could possibly change if I listened to everything again, however I am pretty fucking confident in that for guitar, it's "Mutter." More than anything else, it's that fucking refrain; it sounds entirely overflowing with wrenching pain and sorrow to me, and I cannot BELIEVE Reesh has said he wrote that shit for a wedding, like bitch it makes me want to cry without vocal assistance to set the vibe, holy fucking shit who died at that wedding??????????????? It will regularly give me goosebumps when I listen to the song.

Okay, second-easiest (I think, lol). For Flake's keyboard work, I'm a BIG fat lover of his performance in "Weit weg." I adore synthwave-style musical works, and this sound is just so classic and really does it for me. I think it also helps that I recently binged it for like, a full day for no reason other than it was stuck in my head real bad lmfao

All right, next one: bass. This is one of those more difficult ones, because I think like a great number of people, the bass is astronomically harder to single out in heavier music, unless it's basically the only thing playing (which we stan hard as fuck I wanna hear my Boy), and because of this, I took the time to listen to some bass covers of various tracks to have the sound singled out more, and now, I think I'm going with "Stripped." It's a head-bobber to me!

... aaaaand the hardest: drums. I want to scream from the fucking rooftops that this is no disrespect or disregard for Schneider, he is a vital member of the band that I adore, and drums are so instrumental in establishing the beat of songs, it's just that this is the one instrument that for some reason, my brain doesn't seem to latch onto and remember when I think of the song? It's completely indeliberate, I hear it and it just slides off my smooth-ass brain. 😭 I hate it because I love our dilf drummer so very much, so like this makes me feel so rude and as if I don't care for his part in the band, which couldn't be further from accurate; I reiterate, he's vital, as much as everyone else. All that being said, this is the instrument I am least confident about when picking a favorite, but like for Ollie, I visited a big chunk of songs that made me think "wait I think the drum performance is strong here," so take this one with the biggest grain of salt: I think I'm going with "Eifersucht." I like the fast pace of the drum in this one, and it's super rhythmic, and that's... all my non-drum-intellectual ass has got, lol. I'm that kid critiquing shit they don't know about right now.

so yesterday @ticklefighthockey was using this prompt generator and doing mini outlines—it looked fun, so i'm copying! some of these are not screenshots because i was hitting the 'generate' button too fast but ended up wanting to keep them. beware for grimy, yucky plotpoints, including problems with consent!

this is a world in which there's something sacred in an alpha/omega bond; maybe something required by the league, maybe a stipulation from either sid or geno's parents to let them play? whatever it is, bonds in this world are only consummated/created via sex—that's the only way. and over time the consummation sex has become highly, highly ritualized, even for couples that are freely seeking to bond out of love. for sid and geno? the rigidity of the tradition is what gets them through their first time. part of the ritual involves a 'claiming' of the omega by the alpha—this is a world where gender roles are strictly enforced in the traditional rituals—the omega is asleep and overtaken by the alpha, and that's how it begins.

sid and geno are in this world's version of a queer relationship. there's homophobia here for sure, but it's milder, a lot better than it used to be at least, that's for sure. they've been taking it slow—the dynamics clash is no joke, and they're working through being there for each other through the pheromone surges and how to handle each other's ruts as their cycles sync up. so they've had sex—a lot of it—but they've never knotted inside the other one.

the first time they try it, once the knot is locked in, the one who's being knotted has some horrible flashback memory to a hazing incident when he was in juniors. the rookies had all been fed shots until their vision was blurry, and whoever tapped out of taking more first was held down and teased with a knotting toy, one of those heat aids that omegas buy if they don't feel like getting an alpha. they never actually locked the knot in, the other boys, but it got very, very close.

he'd forgotten, until now, that had happened to him. and now he's stuck until the other's knot goes down.

the wedding night comes, and they're both so fumbling and eager. geno's nervous, and so so careful with sid, but neither of them know what they're doing, and it's confusing and scary and it hurts and geno doesn't know how to make it better, and it's overwhelming for them both, and they end up crying in each other's arms as they wait for geno's knot to go down. after all, when your first time is put on such a pedestal, the only real outcome can be disappointment.

for this one i'd revisit my free use 'verse i did for a/b/o fest this year. two alphas (to be named later, i don't remember anyone's designations lol) are in a clandestine relationship. to the world they're just buddies, good friends, but in private one of them acts like an omega, and in this world that means he's 'available' at all times. this would be a deep dive into his internal monologue as he orders sex aids from the sketchy side of the internet, as he slips out of bed on the mornings of days off to prepare himself to act and feel like an omega. he loves it—they both love it—but there's some deep, deep shame and self-loathing that goes along with all of this.

alphas are rare rare rare, and there are...stereotypes about them. some of them have a ring of truth, some of them don't. one of the most pervasive, though, is that if you're an omega going through heat, the best partner for you is an alpha who's in rut. they'll do everything they can to please you and make sure you're spent and satisfied by the end, and if it goes well they'll be utterly devoted to you from then on.

alphas aren't allowed to play in the NHL until they're 22, which is when they supposedly settle and are less 'feral'. so, geno may have made his way to the US (in this world he stays after the draft, alphas are valuable enough that no team would risk sending him away on the off chance someone steals them), and he might be the penguins' property, but he's not allowed to play. he can attend practice, and he's collecting a paycheck, but he's not on the roster. not yet.

sid, though, is allowed to play. he's an omega, after all.

the franchise is clearly banking on him and geno as The Future, so they pair them up during practice, and sid does his best to try and soothe geno's jealousy and discontent. they become friends, good friends even.

something else that the organization is banking on, something they don't share with sid or geno, is that if sid and geno spend enough time together, their cycles will sync up, sid will go into heat when geno's in rut, and they'll tie their superstars to each other and to the franchise.

and, well. sid's the Next One. doesn't he deserve to have a reward? a little treat on the side for when the spotlight gets too bright? he is the youngest player to hit 100 points, after all...

I was trying to search my brain for instances of fullbody high that I could use as inspiration for drawing LawLight high out their minds on edibles and I remembered the first time I got high off these yucky cupcakes my friends and I filled with flower and baked in high school and we all got WAY too high and spent the rest of the night in varying stages of panic and anguish and really it was quite terrible LOL BUT I do remember laying on the floor next to my best friend and just staring at them and wanting to hold them even tho neither of us was a touchy person because I needed to be grounded and was scared of how I was feeling (we thought we were dying of weed overdose or something it was so so fucked but absolutely hilarious looking back LOL)

13. what’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow?

Chuck Palahniuk and Neil Gaiman have some awesome advice for writers that I hold very near and dear to my heart.

One thing I try to force myself into remembering from Palahniuk is that you go into a scene already knowing the purpose, if you can’t nail down the purpose of a scene its best left out. If it builds on nothing and offers nothing insightful then you should think about how to make such a scene offer something to your writing. Like work scenes in YOUR favor not force scenes into submission by sheer will.

Gaiman also has a great thing about how if nothing in your story is laughable then whats the point and its so important to laugh at your own jokes and that your readers are smarter than you’d otherwise assume. Putting jokes and asides in a story breathes a lot of life into it and it makes it easier and more engaging for people to read. Even in dreary and dark stories, Gaiman always keeps me fkn hooked just by his strong narrative voice and you can so hear HIM in his writing yknow?

Okay so I'm gonna preface this by saying while we know the next audio is gonna have Damien and Huxley, and there isn’t going to be a listener, that’s all we know so far (thought someone did mention something about a patreon announcement which confirms that they’re romantic?? idk I’m too broke to afford the patreon rip), but this thing is gonna assume they are canon.

This one is gonna be kinda long and probably not as eloquent as it could be but here we go!

I personally don’t like Gavin - at least not in the romantic sense. In fact, it’s one of the (very very) few gripes I have with the d.a.m.n. story. In almost every other part of this universe you get to choose which character you wanna ‘canonically’ be involved with, but with this particular story we get saddled with Gavin as the canon romantic LI. I personally felt like I was gritting my teeth at points in the story because of the romantic involvement Gavin had with listener, but I still listened anyway because I like the story - and I’m glad I did listen because I love these characters! I just quite literally would have preferred any of the other d.a.m.n. boys over him, and Huxley and Damien just happen to be my favourites.

Another thing is, canonically, I don’t think any of the characters Erik has made have a romantic relationship that isn’t with the listener. Yeah sure, maybe some of the secondary characters are in relationships (like the dude in Marcus’ story who has a partner? And family? I can’t remember his name rip), but they don’t interact with the listener as much as the main characters do - and to have some of the most forefront ‘main characters’ be in a relationship is just really jarring to me? Sure, Lasko and Gavin had a fling, but they aren’t currently in a relationship. If Hux and Damien become a thing, there will now be a gender attached to the receiver of the romantic affection of these characters, when the whole point of Erik’s universe crafting is that there is no gender attached to person who is usually at the receiving end of any romantic affection i.e. the listener. (Edit: this doesn’t change their sexuality at all, which is great, but my point is in a universe where Erik makes it a point to be gender inclusive about people who are in relationships with the LIs, it seems kinda out of place. Not bad, but new).  I don’t know if this point made much sense so I apologise about that.

I can also definitely see how the whole friends to lovers thing can happen, especially after both of them going through something as traumatic as what happened in inversion together, but I feel like there have been no hints towards them getting together and it’s just going to be dumped on us for the sake of having a canon non-listener couple in the redacted universe. Granted, I haven’t had the time to listen to all of the audios after inversion because I’ve been so busy, so I might have just entirely missed the videos where this relationship has been hinted at (which if it has please let me know), but from my current knowledge and stand point this relationship has been ripped out of thin air. It makes me feel uncomfortable because up until this point I’ve seen all four of the the d.a.m.n. boys as brothers, so now that two of them are potentially gonna be dating each other feels gross and I don’t like it.

And finally, to carry on from this particular point, I don’t think I would be able to listen to the non-canon romance audios form Hux and Damien then. But this is just me being stubborn because I feel like they would be ‘cheating’, and I’m just very weird when it comes to things like that lol.

Don’t get me wrong, Huxley and Damien are amazing characters and I want them to be happy and safe, and while I’m not gonna go around attacking people who like the ship, it doesn’t mean I have to like it. I shall suffer in silence instead lmao

Possibly controversial because F1 has always been commercialised, but the constant merch drops and brand promos from teams, drivers and even WAGs are starting to get out of hand, especially when people are struggling for money, and there’s clearly a younger fanbase…. £100+ for hoodies is a lot, especially if you’re releasing multiple collections per year alongside the respective team’s drops and then there’s the other products drivers try and promote, whether it’s because they’re a sponsor or it’s a personal project of theirs and then some of the brands the WAGs are promoting directly to their followers aren’t exactly…affordable either (Sunday Riley for example…). I know F1 wants to be seen as luxury but they’re not making it very accessible and it’s slowly turning back into a culture where you have to have cash to even participate as a fan.

I think like the Miami GP really highlighted the fact that F1 doesn't really care to appeal to fans who can't pony up tons of cash. Like they want the viewership numbers and stuff but yeah, like you said, they have no desire to make it accessible for non-wealthy people.

As far as drivers, I'm sorry but Daniel putting out a $160USD sweatshirt is just asnine to me. But seeing they're all sold out, I guess he can get away with it but it feels so yucky to me. And I'm not just picking on Daniel, he's just the one I remember off the top of my head. I also am sideyeing Lewis for (likely) doing merch drops on back to back race weekends.

Like I guess drivers don't owe accessibility to fans but like when I see outrageously priced merch, it feels more to me that fans are being taken advantage of and I hate that.

And don't get me started on WAGs and their sponcons lol.

Thank you for saying this. I'm a TK shipper who doesn't believe they're real, I just happen to think they're cute together but one thing I've always disliked is ship wars. It irks me that some shippers are so violently opposed to the idea of people falling in love when it isn't their ship they grow aggressive about it. I'm always of the mind that let people ship whoever, it has no affect on me lol and when shippers dismiss 'moments' from a ship to strengthen their own it just feels childish and delusional to me. At the end of the day, real or not for any ship, we are all going to move on with our lives.

Yeah, that’s a perspective I feel like it’s easy to lose but important to remember: we’re ostensibly engaging in this aspect of fandom because it’s fun for whatever reason.  In the end, we’ll all move on to other things -- which isn’t necessarily to say that we’ll stop caring completely (some will and some won’t), but just that it won’t occupy as much of our time and lives and energy and interest as it does for the moment, and that’s okay.

The ship wars are silly, but for me personally, it’s important to recognize all the different ways that people can love and relate to each other, engage with each other, care for each other.  Obviously I see different things -- different motives and intentions, different feelings and implications -- between different pairs within the group, and I’m not opposed to sharing my thoughts and interpretations of different moments and what I do or don’t see in them.

But I have no interest in trying to downplay or dismiss real moments that I saw with my own eyes.  It happened, and trying to write it off as meaningless feels yucky to me, even if I don’t necessarily see the same meaning in it that other people might.  These are real people we’re talking about, and just like we all have different relationships in our lives, relationships that we engage in differently and feel and experience differently, so do they, and there’s nothing wrong with that, so I just don’t want to write it off.

Sub vs Dub Notes

Prior to the actual reviews, I want to take a moment to talk about changes that apply to the series as a whole and don't need to be talked about every single episode because that would just be tedious. These things may still come up as a comment here and there, but won't be addressed in depth every. single. time. There are probably also more than just the these things below, but going into it, these are things I remember off the top of my head.

So let's get in to it!

What's up with the names?

Maybe it's just because I don't watch that many dubs and the ones that I have are slice-of-life explicitly set in Japan rather than the more ambiguous, futuristic city displayed in the Yugioh franchise, but most of the time names are left in tact. So what's up with the localization of Yugioh when it comes to names?

I'm sure it's mostly because of the younger target audience, but let's face it: Japanese names pronounced by English speakers are butchered a lot. (This is true for any name spoken by a non-native speaker for the most part and doesn't just apply here, but I will digress before I end up going on a long tangent about one of the reasons for this happening in particular here is because Japanese names stress the first vowel and English names stress the second more often than not.) I can absolutely understand why names like Mikage and Ushio were changed for that reason.

In a similar vain, I'm sure Aki with an English pronunciation would sound more like an adult telling their toddler not to put something in their mouth because its "ucky (yucky)" so, uh, yeah, I definitely also get adding that extra syllable, as well as changing her surname to something more easily pronounceable. Additionally, considering the fandom at large can't even decide if the twins' names should be spelled as "Rua and Ruka" or "Lua and Luka" (the official subs take the latter), that change also makes a ton of sense, and in both cases the names ended up honestly being very similar anyway (which isn't always the case, see the change from "Saiga" to "Blister", lol).

The thing is, they can get away with it without causing a huge problem since not all the names in the original are Japanese anyway, so these types of changes for localization don't stick out or really detract from the content in any way.

But then you have Godwin. Like, hey, 4kids, that's an honest-to-goodness real surname. Quick google search gave me a dude who plays football and a gymnast, both with that surname. It's not a weird name. It's not even a hard-to-pronounce-for-foreigners Japanese name. So why on God's green earth did they feel the need to add that extra 'o'? It baffles me. It was unnecessary.

Moving on.

Similarly, there are the names of cards. All card names are the official names from the game, which means some of them differ depending on the version. Which, in some cases with the sub, is actually annoying because monsters like Red Demon's Dragon are already in English but the subtitles still say "Red Dragon Archfiend" because, ya know, that's what the card name actually is here. That aside, I will not be pointing every card that's name is different between the version because there are A Lot.

Characters and Personalities

I'm just gonna say it: some of the dub characters are entirely different characters from their sub counterparts.

This, I feel, is most noticeable with Yusei. Please understand, I don't dislike either one. I saw the dub first so dub!Yusei is the one I originally fell in love with! I love snarky characters, and I am a very pun-y person myself, and it makes for good humor! But dub!Yusei's snark and puns are vastly different to sub!Yusei's quiet stoicism. Now that I'm an adult, I appreciate sub!Yusei in a different way than I loved dub!Yusei initially as a teenager, in part because as an autistic adult, I see more autistic-coding in sub!Yusei than in dub!Yusei. Neither one is worse or better than the other, but they are very different.

This is less noticeable in other characters, but other characters definitely fall into this still as well. Ushio, for example, has an entirely different start with Yusei depending on which one you watch and that affects their character interactions -- I have an entire post in the works on main and I'll talk a little about it in the review so I won't go into detail right now on that, though. Jack, as well, has more of a change than just his accent to the point that I can tell which character version is being referenced when I read fanfiction based on how the dialog plays out, even when all sub names are being used.

To a certain extent, I'd say that most -- if not all -- of them have at least a noticeable change between the two versions. Some of these changes are small enough to be negligible, but many of them are quite noticeable.

(This will definitely be brought up in reviews in terms of changes made to dialog but I wanted to throw this out as a general point first, anyway.)

Thought bubbles

This...may only be true of the first two arcs. I have not seen the dub, save for a handful of random episodes, since it aired in 2008 to 2011. But it seems to me that most of the dialog presented as thoughts in the dub is original to the dub. I watched the first episode not that long ago and I know it's true for that episode at the very least. I feel like there are more "thought bubbles" in the sub from the third arc on, but basically any thoughts from the first two arcs you can probably assume don't exist in the sub. (There are a few, but there are very few.)

These will get commented on in reviews but only if it's a relevant or drastic change and I will not be pointing out every single one that is not present in the sub. Because that would be tedious.

Music

The soundtracks are vastly different. Generally speaking, the music is much less noticeable in that the volume is much quieter. I do not know why this is, it just is. I am not going to comment on the differences in score because that would be every score and I honestly don't really notice the dub score overly much when I'm watching anyway. (The sub score, on the other hand, can actually be distracting at times. Not because of volume, though; just because it's so freaking good. And because of the volume it's more noticeable. But I digress.)

It's like that time some author got investigated by the military. He saw the public floor plan for a boat but the rest of the floor plan was confidential. He then thought about it for a while & figured out the most efficient floorplan for a boat like that. The military said "how did you know our floor plan?" & he said "this is the best way to build a boat, of course you would make it like this". These things have the same end goal & so since they are both going for the best path to achieve that goal, they end up with the same (or similar) technology.

If it is that fast to take effect & it is that deadly, then it really should not be classified as "it won't kill you" babes. Then again, the spy had to wear stuff like that, he was probably not up there for long. I was under the assumption that it would be painful & nauseating & annoying (even if you only come into contact with it once) but it wouldn't kill you, even if you're in the atmosphere for hours, for days even. Maybe you would get a rash in your lungs & die like that. I just think it's kind of unrealistic to say it's non-lethal & then switch to it's lethal. Give them a bit more time. Define long-term. Say maybe "it is harmful but not deadly, at least in the short term, but if we're exposed continually for more than maybe ten hours it could lead to severe damage, & if we're too nauseous to get up & get help we could be exposed for more than 24 hours, which could potentially cause (harm that leads to) death."

first impression: ok full disclosure i did NOT like saw the first time i saw it LOL. i thought adam was annoying and the bathroom was yucky and it was too slow paced. BUT i did like amanda she was like the redeeming quality to me. and once i watched saw ii i was completely sucked in she was everything to me. the way she claws at her face when she first wakes up like shes expecting the bear trap is such an acting moment of all time.

impression now: i love her so much shes the best apprentice her character is everything to me. i dont know what to say that hasnt been said before but i guess my most recent impression of her was in saw x and i just felt like her character, at the state in between saw and saw ii, was so well written. like her dependence on john but her reluctance to hurt people who she doesnt think fully deserve it... god... you can see the doubts starting to form like why are we doing this am i fixed is this what being fixed feels like... and shes so so scared of losing him... godddd. god. and her dykey outfit... i had some issues w saw x amanda was not one of them

favorite moment: DIFFICULT QUESTION hmmm all her moments r so good. i think the one that makes me craziest is i forget the exact line but in saw iii she tells lynn smth like "sure u can kill me but when john heres me cry out hell come running for me and rip off his heart monitor and then ull die" but later when shes bleeding out she looks up at john and reaches out for him and he just looks down at her and tells her its her destiny. COMPLETELY FUCKED. also obviously "fix me" and you know what can i just list all of saw iii as my favorite moment.

idea for a story: god. ok. like actual film wise i think we should move on from john kramer forever and honestly like over the course of the 4 movies shes in weve gotten a pretty good look at amandas character like it feels like theres limited room to fit in a new story. theres small things id like to see, more of her interacting and butting heads w the othe apprentices, but nothing like huge within canon bc i feel like it would throw off her arc. that being said idk how it would fit into a film but i would like to see her almost relapse post saw ii but discover that shes developed a fear of needles and instead of taking this as like. a fucked up thing. she tries to reframe it as like proof that traps work like she Is Fixed. but obviously this is right before saw iii and shes wavering but shes trying to tell herself that. developing ptsd over being thrown into a pit of needles. was a good thing<3

unpopular opinion: i dont rlly ship her and gabriela i see gabriela very much as a mirror of amanda but i dont rlly think its valuable or interesting to interpret that relationship as romantic SORRY

favorite relationship: ive said it before she and lynn have the craziest chemistry of any couple in all the saw movies like what was in the water on set that made them act that way... my only wish is that more fans made them insane rather then like. in lynn lives aus where theyre cute and healing together like no. they wouldnt do that. and then of relationships in canon obviously her and john have the most interesting and tragic thing going on (to be clear i dont mean relationships as in romantic here) but if i think about that too long ill start crying so instead lets just remember her and lynns crazy dyke swag.

favorite headcanon: oughh god idk... shes such a complete and basically perfect character to me i dont have a lot of big ideas about her outside of whats shown... like i said i think she has a phobia of needles after saw ii that she pushes through for the sake of traps that require it and then immediately goes and like throws up after. i think she bites her hand when shes really angry and sometimes draws blood. i think it reminds her of the beartrap and i think she pretends that gives her comfort. and i think at some point pre saw she dated the same vegan feminist punk that adam did<3
