Jessie Fleming x Reader
Summary: Sometimes you forget Jessie’s an engineer. A very thoughtful, but shy one at that. One who feels more comfortable renovating your apartment than telling you she likes you.
Warnings: No warnings.
A/N: I'm hearing some fluff is in order. Hope you all enjoy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Where do you want this?" Jessie asked as she stood holding a large box in the doorway to your new bedroom.
You looked over your shoulder and pointed to the walk-in closet. "Over there would be great. Thank you."
"No problem," Jessie replied as she walked over and set the box down. She looked around as she stood. "Are you doing anything with the shelving in here?"
"Oh yeah," you said as you got up and joined her. "I'm going to move these shelves up and add another set here to create more storage."
"Smart. That'll be good," Jessie affirmed as she scanned the space.
You tried not to stare, but her profile, curious eyes, and the way her baby hairs stuck to her face after several trips to and from the moving truck made it challenging.
"Hey, I think that's everything."
Both you and Jessie turned when Janine's voice filtered in from the bedroom, seeing Kelli standing beside her.
"Oh amazing. Thank you so much, all of you. I'm sure your coach would have my head if he knew you helped me move, but I'm very grateful. And hey - no injuries! Knock on wood. I guess you all still have to make it home in one piece," you joked.
"Anytime," Janine said as she crossed the room and gave you a hug. "The new digs look great. Condo ownership looks good on you."
You laughed. "Thank you. And it's even better when highly trained athletes do all the heavy lifting for you."
"No unpacking though," Kelli joked. "That's where I draw the line." You held up your hands in mock surrender.
"I can handle that part. Thank you. Next round of dinner and drinks are on me."
Once everyone left and you continued the tedious task of unpacking, your phone dinged with a text. You retrieved it to see Jessie's name on the screen.
"Hey. I hope unpacking is going well. I just wanted to say that if you need any help redoing your shelves I'm happy to swing by. I like projects like that."
A small smile tugged at the corners of your mouth.
"Sometimes I forget you're an engineer. You've done so much as is - I already rolled the dice by getting you to help me move furniture and precariously packed boxes. I don’t want to push."
"I really don't mind! And setting up shelves is a lot less risky than holding the bottom end of the couch on the stairs while Kelli and Janine argue about how to angle it through a doorway."
You laughed recalling the scene in your mind. She had a point. Plus, spending some time alone, just the two of you, wouldn't be unwanted.
You'd met through Janine a few months back and had become friends in your own right since then, but it was still the norm that you typically only saw each other with Janine. This could be a nice change of pace. And, you know, if seeing her work in such a capacity would turn out to be eye candy - so be it.
"Alright. You've convinced me. When are you free? And please, please know that if you change your mind it's really not a problem at all. Please don't feel pressured or obliged."
"Excellent! Does next Sunday work for you? I'd say Saturday, but we have a game that afternoon."
"I'm aware lol. I'll be there, after all. Sunday sounds great."
"Right lol. Okay, Sunday it is! Let me know if you need me to pick anything up prior. I'm happy to."
"You're too sweet. See you then."
-----
"You brought your own drill set?" You asked with an amused smile. The blush on Jessie's face was immediate.
"Well, I didn't know what you had." Her voice rising in pitch. "And I have a spare battery. There's nothing worse mid-project than running out of a charge."
"Nothing," you mocked affectionately and she averted her gaze as her cheeks grew redder. You smiled at her and ushered her to the walk-in. "Okay, well, between the two of us I think we're all set. Let's get started."
It didn't take long for it to become Jessie leading and you helping. Going in, you felt you had a decent grasp of what to do, but as the work progressed, you realized how good it was that Jessie was here because she guided things with confidence and ease that you had to admit you probably wouldn't have had in her absence.
You were expecting this to be an all day venture, but with Jessie at the helm the work went by quickly and smoothly.
"Hand me that last shelf, please," she instructed calmly as she double-checked her work.
You were ready with it and handed it up to her. You watched in what you hoped was subtle appreciation as she set it in place.
She stood perched on the ladder, wearing her black hat and her shirt was tucked in. The tape measure was hooked onto her pocket and she wore a soft look of concentration on her face. When she took the shelf, her biceps popped as she lifted it and set it down on the brackets with ease. The pencil tucked behind her ear was the cherry on top.
Once she was confident the shelf was secure, she turned to you with a bright smile.
"All done! What do you think?"
"It's fantastic," you relayed, forcing yourself to refocus. And it was true. Not only was her workmanship thorough, but she'd tweaked a few things in your plan to optimize the setup even further. "Thank you so much. This is better than what I could've imagined. I owe you big time."
She shrugged and focused on her feet as she stepped down off the ladder. "No, it's all good. It was fun."
"Well, I really appreciate it. Truly," you went on, seeking eye contact, but she seemed to readily avoid it as she began cleaning up her tools. Eventually, she looked to you with a small smile.
"Don't mention it. Thanks for letting me help."
You rolled your eyes teasingly. "You're funny. Can I at least order us in some dinner and make you a drink or two?" You saw her begin to hesitate, a blush creeping up on her cheeks as she fidgeted. Early on, you would've immediately backed off, fearing you were making her truly uncomfortable, but by this point you knew she was just shy. And a bit skittish. You went on gently. "Consider it a small token of my appreciation."
She gave you a crooked smile as she distractedly readjusted her hat before seeming to catch herself and clasped both hands in front of her. "Okay, sure. That sounds good."
You two talked fairly late into the night and you noted how Jessie relaxed into the evening. Conversation was easy and naturally weaved from the light and fun to the more serious and heavy without getting uncomfortable or awkward. The night only came to an end because you had to work in the morning.
"Thank you again for all of your help," you told her as she stood at your front door, shoes, jacket and backpack on. "Not only does the closet look great, but it was a lot of fun - thanks to you. I can't help but think about projects half that serious that I've done with exes and they've turned into all out brawls. So, thank you."
Her posture straightened slightly and as she blushed with a nervous laugh. "Well, what can I say. We work well together." If you were right, the flush of her cheeks deepened. She averted her gaze, shuffling her feet a bit before she shoved her hands in her jacket pockets and nodded over your shoulder.
"You said you were going to change out the lighting fixtures in the living room, right?" She asked. Her smile morphed into a smirk. "I mean, I'm not an electrical engineer, but a couple lighting fixtures is no big deal. I could come over next week and help with those."
You gave her a smirk of your own, unknowingly looking her up and down.
"If you'd really like to. I certainly won't stop you."
The easy confidence she was trying to channel a moment ago flickered before she gave you a nonchalant shrug.
"Sure. It's not a problem."
"Alright," you accepted. "I'm looking forward to it. Thanks again, and good night." You leaned forward and pulled her into a short hug - something you hadn't done before - and it seemed to catch her off-guard as she very belatedly put her hands up around you as you were already beginning to pull away, and even then, her movements were stiff and tentative. When you fully broke away her face was beet red.
"Okay." Her voice was high and tight. She gave you a quick, awkward wave before turning to leave. "Have a good night."
-----
The next weekend rolled around and Jessie was yet again up on a ladder in your new apartment. She tilted her head and frowned in concentration as she installed the last set of screws on your new lighting fixture.
"Okay, go ahead and turn the breaker back on," she told you as she stepped down and walked over to the light switch. You did as you were told.
"Okay, done."
The switch went on with a soft click and light filled the room. You watched her before looking up at the newly installed fixture. She smirked.
"Looks good," she said. “How do you like it?”
“It's brilliant. Thank you again. But what I’m really interested in is this,” you said as you closed the space between you two and grasped her hand, she tensed at the contact, but didn’t pull away. You lifted her hand to see the cut on her knuckle.
“I knew it. Let’s get you cleaned up,” you said and at that she pulled her hand back, hiding it behind her back.
“It’s nothing. I’m fine.”
“I know you are, but still,” you told her gently, noting the embarrassed look on her face. “Indulge me. Let me at least put a bandaid on it.”
She grumbled in contemplation but eventually conceded. You smiled to yourself at how her head jerked away when you glanced up from her hand to catch her staring at you.
When you finished placing the bandaid on her you released her hand and took a step back. You waited to catch her eye and spoke, “Make sure you clean that up more when you get home.”
Her cheeks grew pink and she rolled her eyes. You caught the hint of a smile on her lips though.
“Yes, ma’am.”
Jessie stayed for dinner and a drink once more. Conversation flowed even easier, if that’s possible, than last time. You tried to hide the smile over how pleased you were by this since you and Jessie had been texting all week in between. It would've been understandable if you ran out of things to talk about by this point, but you didn’t - at all.
"I noticed there were a couple of dings in the drywall - probably from when we were moving stuff in. Probably Janine's doing - I'm much more conscientious," Jessie relayed with a facetious eye roll. "I could patch those up for you. I imagine the previous owners left some of the original paint or we could just get it paint matched."
You smirked at her from across the couch.
"You know, we could always just hang out - no reno job required. You don’t have to do something every time."
She blushed and took a sip of her drink.
"Oh, well, you know. I don’t mind."
"Well, how about we just hang out next time. If you are desperate to repair the drywall even after that, well, have at 'er. But maybe a work-free, normal hang out would be nice," you told her with a soft laugh. She nodded, blush fading as she returned your smile.
“Okay, that sounds like a plan." She swirled her drink, looking down at the churning liquid and speaking into it. "You could come over to my place? I could make us dinner. Or whatever." She finally mustered up the courage to look back up at you.
Now it was your turn to blush. You fiddled with your glass and offered her a hint of a smile. "Okay. That sounds nice."
————
“Whoa. That’s fancy,” Jessie commented as you set down a nice bottle of Chardonnay on her counter.
“Well, it’s my first time over. I had to break out the good stuff for you.”
Jessie grinned and retrieved a couple of glasses for you before setting down two plates of food on the kitchen table.
“This looks amazing,” you told her as you looked at the meal she prepared. “And I can’t help but think this just isn’t fair. You did all this free work for me and now you’ve made me dinner.”
“Was it free?” She squinted at you teasingly. “You had to listen to me babble on about metric versus imperial for a solid 20 minutes there.”
“I didn’t mind. I’d listen to that any day. I like hearing your facts and tidbits and about whatever you're interested in,” you assured her and she tried to conceal her smile. “How’d you become so handy anyway? I mean, I know you have this engineering background now, but still.”
She shrugged. “I liked helping my dad with projects around the house. Helping him build stuff. It was just always fascinating to me to see things come together like that and to know you did it with your own two hands.”
“That’s cute. And very sweet,” you told her as you took a bite. She dismissed your comment with a small wave of her fork.
“It’s not a big deal.”
“Well. I still think it’s cute. And I certainly reaped the rewards. Thank you again - seriously, for all of your help. You didn’t have to help me, and I really appreciate all the work you did.”
She took a sip of wine and peered at you over the glass, taking a moment to contemplate.
“There’s still that matter of the drywall,” she joked.
“You’re still on that, huh?” You said with a laugh. “What are we going to do when there are no projects left to work on?”
A faint blush began to form on Jessie’s face and she shuffled around in her chair a bit before taking a bite of food.
“There are always projects to be done. And if not, well, you’re the one who said we could hang out without a project to work on.”
You propped your elbow on the table and rest your chin in your open palm. “And the offer still stands. Clearly,” you gestured around her apartment. “If you’re interested.” Jessie dropped your gaze and flushed a deeper tone of pink.
“Yeah. I mean, we get along alright.”
You snickered a bit before taking a sip of your drink.
“What resounding affirmation," you said dryly and she shot you a bashful look. You smirked. "I guess it’s settled then.”
You polished off the bottle of wine that evening and your conversation carried you late into the night. You made a point of not checking the time and Jessie made no attempt to either. You had to work in the morning, but you just didn't care. You'd deal with the consequences later.
At some point though, an inevitable yawn escaped Jessie.
“Oh, I should let you get to sleep,” you offered, though not yet moving from your spot on the couch next to her. You were sitting across from one another and you were very aware of how if either of you shifted in a particular way, your legs would brush.
“No, it’s fine,” she dismissed. “I’ll get my second wind here in no time.” You chuckled and finally checked your phone. Your eyes went wide.
“Oh shit,” you laughed. “Well, I’ve worked off of less sleep before.”
“You didn’t tell me you were working,” she frowned at you. “Yeah, some clients are in from out of town. It’s okay, I wanted to hang out with you.” You reluctantly rose from the couch and she followed. “As much as I'm enjoying myself, I should go. I can get about 4 hours of sleep if there are no delays on the train.”
“You are not taking the train,” Jessie told you in the most stern voice you’d ever heard from her. It actually caught you off guard and you ignored the stirring in your chest at her display.
“Fine. An Uber,” you conceded.
“No. I’ll drive you,” she countered.
“Don’t be silly.” You waved her off. “You’re tired too and I’m not making you drive 30 minutes across town and back at this hour.”
“Then…I don't know, just spend the night.” She immediately held up her hands in defense. “Not like that. I just mean…it’s super late, getting home is going to be a pain. I’ll drive you home in the morning whenever you’re ready.”
“Jessie…” It was tempting. The logic wasn’t entirely bulletproof, but reasonable enough.
In the time you took to start contemplating, Jessie had run to the closet and started pulling out spare pillows and blankets. You looked at them when she returned and gave her a discerning look. You didn’t feel uncomfortable, you just didn’t want to intrude.
“I’ll take an Uber in the morning.” You told her and she gave you an easy smile as she began setting up the couch.
“I’ll drive you,” she repeated nonchalantly.
“Oh my god. You’re so stubborn,” you complained half-heartedly.
“Sometimes,” she admitted with a shrug as she went to her room for a few moments and came back out with a set of pyjamas.
“Don’t tell Janine. She’ll never let me hear the end of this,” you warned in mock petulance as you went to take the clothes from her. She pulled her fingers across her lips, feigning a zipping motion.
“She wouldn’t let me hear the end of it either, so I'd say we're now partners in crime,” she laughed, but held the clothes back from you. “These are mine. Yours are on the bed.”
“Huh?” You asked, giving her a blatant look of confusion.
“I’m sleeping out here. You take the bed,” she returned lightly and before you could retort she gently began to corral you towards her bedroom.
“Jessie.” You protested. “Are you nuts? I’m taking the couch.”
“Incorrect,” she refuted before giving you one final, soft push into the room. “I’ll see you in the morning.” She looked up at the ceiling, seeming to calculate something in her head. “6 am?”
“Yeah,” you confirmed, still giving her a lingering look of disapproval. Before you could conjure a retort, she went on.
"This is my house, so what I say goes," she said rather haughtily, coupled with a subtle smirk. She was evidently very pleased with herself and her mannerisms had you too distracted, a small flutter echoing in your chest, so you let it be. You rolled your eyes.
“Fine. Okay. Well, if you change your mind - feel free to kick me out. Of your bedroom or the apartment - either is fine.”
“Now who’s nuts,” she quipped. Her light and easy demeanour wavered slightly as she paused in the doorway and ran a hand through her hair. “Um, well, bathroom’s through there. Help yourself to whatever. Good night.”
You were still in vague disbelief about how the last part of the night had unfolded as you lay in Jessie’s bed, wearing her clothes. Had you previously imagined being in Jessie’s bed? Yes. Did you imagine this? No. Certainly not.
All things considered, you slept pretty well. You didn't expect yourself to, so it was a surprise when your alarm went off. It took you a few moments for your mind to reconcile the unfamiliar surroundings, but you quickly came to. You sat up, the first rays of morning light illuminating the room and you observed them in a more lucid headspace than you had the night before.
The room was neat, organized, minimalistic in a way, but still had plenty of things that made it Jessie. A few framed photos of family and friends, her camera, a few, select books neatly displayed, some cute trinkets from her trips around the globe - no medals on display though. How typical.
A sound from the kitchen pulled you from your observations with a frown. You thought you were hearing things at first until you heard a few more faint sounds.
You quickly got changed and tentatively opened the bedroom door a crack to peer out. Not only was Jessie up already, she was in the middle of making breakfast. You opened the door the rest of the way with a puzzled look on your face. She turned to you with a smile.
"Morning! How did you sleep?"
"How long have you been up?" You asked instead. She glanced at her watch.
"I don't know. 30 minutes maybe? So, how did you sleep?" She repeated her inquiry.
"Shockingly well," you replied with a light laugh as you leaned on the kitchen counter and watched her work. "How about you? Miss I-insist-on-taking-the-couch."
She shot you a smirk over her shoulder as she scrambled the eggs in the frying pan. "I slept perfectly well, thank you," she relayed pointedly. "Coffee?" She asked.
"Please."
"Black, right?"
You smiled at her. "Yes, thank you. Can I do anything to help you?"
"Nope, just about done," she told you as she handed you a travel mug with steaming hot coffee. "For the road," she explained.
You watched Jessie as she turned back to the stove and continued making breakfast. For a split second, you pictured yourself as a couple in this moment. Easy mornings together, sharing breakfast and coffee, talking about your day ahead, kissing each other goodbye and going your separate ways until you came home to one another. You cleared your throat and shook out your head subtly as you came back to reality. You didn't want to get too far ahead of yourself.
You both ate a quick breakfast together, and took your toast and coffee to go. Jessie navigated through traffic on the way to your apartment. You scolded yourself internally for how you found something as simple as Jessie driving, attractive. Okay, maybe you really had it bad for her.
"I have to say, I feel like I'm 18 again or something," you joked. "Getting 4 hours of sleep, going through a whole bunch of hoops just to get to school - or work in this case - on time. It's ridiculous. But it was fun." You took a sip of your coffee. "I bet you were in bed by 10 every night in uni - minus late game nights, if that was a thing. But 8 hours of sleep, very responsible, all your readings and homework done."
Jessie shot you a mild glare.
"I've had some wild nights," she countered, not sounding entirely convincing, or even remotely, really. It endeared her to you more.
"Oh yeah, I bet you were a real bad girl," you teased. Jessie rolled her eyes.
"Oh, and like you were."
You sat primly and gave her a sly smirk. "Wouldn't you like to know."
You bantered back and forth the rest of the drive, and again, it felt like you were already something you were not. You found yourself lamenting your arrival as she pulled up to your building. Pushing aside your disappointment, you instead leaned over the middle console and gave Jessie a fleeting kiss on the cheek. She startled at the touch.
"Thanks for driving me. And for letting me spend the night. And for dinner," you frowned as you added things to the list. "I've gotta start pulling my weight here."
"No," she said in a strained voice, her cheeks flaring up as she glanced at you before her eyes darted away. She laughed nervously and scratched the back of her neck. "Don't mention it."
You gave her forearm a quick squeeze, a blush threatening to form on your own face at how firm the muscles were there, and stepped out of the car. You walked to your door, quickly strategizing if or when to turn back and wave when you heard her call out your name. You turned around with a puzzled look on your face.
"Uh, I could drive you to work? When you're ready?" She offered from the car through the now-open window. Her face burned impossibly brighter red. "It'll be faster than the bus."
You smiled openly at her.
"Oh, you're just spoiling me now." She smiled in return. "Well, who am I to say 'no'?" ------

Drabble request for Super Soap Sunday:
Soap and you find yourselves in an unusual place/set of circumstances when the mood strikes. How does he A) let you know what he wants and B) how does he get you in the mood too?
Domestic Bliss
Tumblr media
Johnny 'Soap' MacTavish x Fem Reader
Warnings: 18+ MDNI: Explicit smut, some fingering, P in V, backseat sex, slightly Dom-ish Soap, tons of dirty banter, Soap being a needy little horn dog
This 'drabble' turned into a one-shot because I can't control myself.
Synopsis: You and Soap take the next step in your relationship, and his not so subtle attempt to rile you up in public ends with an impromptu session in the parking lot.

Word count: 2k
Tumblr media
"Alright, ma'am. If I can just you to sign here, here, and here. Then we should be all set up." Your advisor instructed as you sifted through yet another mountain of paperwork. Your eyes growing numb and your fingers beginning to ache from the repeated minor motion of signing your life away.
You pushed the last pile of paperwork over the advisors desk with gentle smile curling into your lips. Glancing over at the man sitting next to you with that same smile, a loving fondness in your eyes as you both took the next pivotal step in your relationship.
A mortgage.
Soap's demeanor was calm. Stoic even. Letting you take the lead in this circumstance as you were the one going to habitate the home more often than he would. A thought you both pushed aside for now to savor the wave of domestic bliss that came along after you signed the final piece of paperwork.
Yet his cool facade couldn't hide the cerulean maelstrom swirling within the whites of his eyes. A look you knew all too well, and one that never failed to send a quick shiver down your spine.
But here? At the bank?
Your smile quickly curled into a smirk, rolling your eyes at him as you turned your attention back to the advisor across the desk. You couldn't feed into Soap's growing needy desires. Not in public at least.
Pursing your lips with a heavy sigh, you tried to maintain your composure by focusing on the task at hand. Eyes trained to the quick movements of fingers across the keyboard as your consultant effortlessly entered your information into the database.
However, even the light clicking of keys couldn't keep your attention as you caught the sudden tremor of his knee in the lower periphery of your vision. The frantic cadence of his boot heel hitting the floor tearing at your concentration yet again, forcing you the bring the knuckles of your right hand up to your mouth to hide the apparent grin quickly forming on your lips.
With as subtle movement as possible, you placed your left hand on the top of his knee to quell his growing feverish motion. Gripping your fingers into the fabric of his jeans and pushing towards the floor in a physical attempt to ease his obviously heightening arousal.
“Ookay. That’s done. Let me get this all printed out and you two should be all set.”
“Thank you, sir. Appreciate all your help with this.”
You share a quick glance with your advisor as he stands, his eyes momentarily shifting to Soap with a subtle curl in the corner of his mouth. You keep a close eye on him as he exits the office, finally turning to face Soap with a furrowed brow and address the apparent tension erupting between you two.
“Jesus Christ, Johnny. Would you please calm down?” You scolded playfully. Your lips a thin line of a smile, obscuring your clenched teeth as you dug your fingers further into his jeans.
“How much fuckin’ longer is this gonna take, bonnie? ‘Cause I'm 'bout to bend ya over this goddamn desk if he don't speed this shit up. He can bloody watch for all I care.”
"We're almost done, Johnny. He just needs to give us the paperwork, and then we can go. So just, keep it in your pants for another five fuckin' minutes."
Your tone of reprimand barely able to combat the deep, rumbling brogue in his voice. Shifting slightly in your seat to quell the growing ache pulsing within your core. A gesture that most certainly did not go unnoticed as you took in the hungry blaze radiating within his eyes.
"Johnny. Don't. No!" Your frivolous attempt to stop him was broken down immediately as he thrusted his hand between your legs. Pressing his knuckles into the base of your heat through your jeans. Shifting to bring his chair closer and caress his mouth and tease you with his whispering brogue to the nape of your neck.
"Gonna fuckin' wreck ya, bonnie. Forget th'mortgage. This my down payment fer tha sweet pussy a'yers."
"Goddamit, MacTavish. Not here, ya fuckin' horn dog."
"Horn dog?" He questions with that distinctly mischievous grin. Pulling away as he eyed your advisor walking back into the office. His calmness in complete contrast to the excited flush bellowing from your chest as you quickly swat his hand away, scolding him quietly under your breath.
"Overconfident bastard."
"Alright. You two are all set up. You should be getting a call within the next five business days once you qualify. Other than that, welcome to home ownership."
"Thank you." You shook your advisor's hand, grabbed at your paperwork, and made an immediate bee line for the door. Beating Soap at his own game as you left him in the office with an obvious growing hard on. Already midway to the exit of the bank when you eyed him barreling out of the office in your periphery.
Tumblr media
You didn't want to lose focus again. Not now. Now when you had the upper hand. You Kept your eyes locked onto the 4Runner at the back of the parking lot as your feet moved quickly at their own accord. Your ears perking to the sound of its alarm, a wave of triumph rolling over you as the locks sprung free.
You opened the backseat passenger door to toss your purse and paperwork on the seat. Expecting to see Soap at the driver side as you tried to close the door.
Tried.
You glanced questioningly at the door. Only then did you notice Soap's hand gripping on the edge. Spinning on your heels as you came face to face with a fiery blaze and a hungry look in his eyes.
"John?"
"Get in."
"John?!"
"GET IN!"
You felt his hands on your hips the moment his voice registered within your mind. Thrusting you into the back seat, an excitedly victorious giggle escaping your chest as he crawled in before slamming the door behind him.
"Yer such a fuckin' lit'le minx, y'know that? Leavin' me th're wit a full bloody stonner." He growled, pulling your shoes off and tossing them to the side, frantically moving to the front of your jeans as you continued to laugh in triumph at his feverish need.
"Makin' me do the goddamn walk o' shame and...why are these fuckin' buttons so goddamn small?!"
"Ooohhh, what happened to that cool confidence, Soap? Thought you could handle yourself under pressure. Bein' a demolitions expert an' all."
"Yer pushin' it, lass." He spat back. Relinquishing the fight with the buttons in favor of simply tearing your jeans off.
"M'also not tryin'a fuck tha bombs, smartass."
Soap tossed your garments to the back, flaring his nostrils with a darkened veil in his eyes as he spread your legs to take in the sight of your silken arousal. Moving onto his haunches with a deep inhale, his eyes rolling back as he took in the scent of your growing excitement.
“Mhmm. Could smell tha’ sweet pussy in th’re. An’ ya already so fuckin’ wet fer me, aren’t ya, bonnie?”
Words escaped you as he pushed two of his fingers inside your soaking heat, your eyes fluttering closed as he slowly pumped up to his knuckle, teasingly preparing you for what was to come. Unable to restrain your body’s reaction as your walls reflexively clenched around him.
“Donnae think I didn’t feel tha’. I know what ya need, lass. An’ m’gonna give it to ya.” Soap lured to you with a husky purr, your eyes fluttering open in response to take in the sight of him stroking himself through his jeans. His steely blue gaze boring into your soul as he effortlessly worked at the buckle of his belt. A throaty growl reverberating within him as he teasingly pushed the waist of his jeans below his hips to expose his painfully hardened cock.
"Johnny, I-" Your pleasured whimper was cut short as he throw his muscular frame on top of you, sealing his mouth over yours in a wet and desperately needy kiss. His strong hands gripping into the flesh of your thighs, guiding them around his waist as he teasingly pushed his throbbing erection into your moistened cunt. Filling you to the brim in one fluid thrust.
"Th's s'my home, bonnie. Right 'ere. B'tween yer legs an' deep in th's beautiful fuckin' pussy a 'yers."
Soap didn't give you time or air to respond as he encapsulated your mouth once more and immediately began pistoning himself into your core. The force of his thrusts wiping whatever thoughts and words out your mind, only focusing on the feel of him as he caged you against the backseat with his arms bent on either side of your head.
"Steamin' hell yer tight, lass." Soap growled into your lips, pressing his chest down into yours, keeping you still and allowing him full reign to pound his hardened length into your heat.
His bulbous tip kissing the flesh of your cervix with each forward thrust before pulling out almost entirely to only throw himself back into you once more. The continuous motion forcing your back to arch off the backseat, pushing your pelvis into his to stimulate the sensitive flesh of your clit.
Soap pulled his mouth away in repsonse to your shifting position, leaning forward to press his forehead into the crook of your neck. His hot breath cascading down your skin as he grunted and moaned with every subsequent thrust, his relentless pounding forcing you to grip into his shoulders to keep yourself stable beneath him.
"Johnny...Johnny..." you whispered softly against his temple. His name the only coherent word you could manage to let fall from your lips as your mind and body fell into the depths of his desperate and needy pleasure.
"Jus'...lemme 'ave th's, bonnie."
"Only g'nna need...an'ther minute.."
Soap's gasping breaths washed over the flesh of your neck, his voice rumbling within his throat like an otherworldly mixture of a growling whimper.
And the moment you felt his hips begin to falter, you pushed aisde your own pleasure in favor of reaching his. Only focusing on him. His needs. His desperate compulsion to always need to fill you and mark you as his own.
"C'mon, bonnie. Come for me."
You responded to his grunting demand by simply pressing your lips to the flesh of his temple. Wrapping your arms and legs around him tightly, letting him vigorously thrust his throbbing cock into your cunt until you felt the warmth of his release erupt deep inside you.
Soap's movements then halted all together. Burying himself into your heat as he rode out the relentless pulses of his climax.
Even within this impromptu moment, with him panting against your neck and you hunched beneath him in the backseat, there was always a certain level of intimacy that seemed to meld between you in the bliss of the afterglow. Cradling him in your arms as he slumped over in a limp and gasping mess.
"Fuckin hell, bonnie." He whispered, softly panting against your neck as he lightly pursed his lips against your neck.
"Jesus, Johnny. If I knew home ownership got ya this worked up, I'd it done years ago."
"Shut it, lass."
"Can't wait to see how hard ya get when I do my taxes."
Soap remained silent to your playful banter, responding only by continuing to kiss the curve of your neck as his body trembled, slowly coming down from the high of his release.
His mouth gently curled into a smile as he placed a series of gentle kisses up the nape of your neck. Chiding in once more to your jesting, his distinctive brogue thicker and more hoarse as he purred against your flesh.
"Won't 'ave ta, hen. Unless yer 'nta doin' a threesome."
"What?" You questioned, pulling him out of your neck to meet his steely blue gaze with a coitish smile.
"Uncle Sam already fucks ya in the ass, bonnie. It's the only time I'm yer designated sloppy side piece."
You can't hide the smile that emerged over your lips, pushing a piece of sweat ridden hair out of his eyes as you lovingly gaze up at him.
"Then I guess I'll be needing another down payment in advance. Just for good measure."
And of course, Soap obliges. Thrusting his still hardened cock deep into your core as he mutters those two words you love to hear.
"Yes, ma'am."

IN WHICH…Y/n finds a peace of mind with her lover, and his two brothers.
WARNINGS: nothing besides smoking.
Tumblr media
5 a.m.
It was 5 a.m on a Sunday and Y/n couldn't sleep, her mind racing intangible thoughts. With a sigh she carefully sits up, attempting to not wake up her sleeping boyfriend. She successfully does so and begins moving around the room, gathering the items she would need.
She exits the room once she gathers everything, and walks down the hallway, peaking into the guest room to check on Nick and Matt. They decided to come over with Chris and ended up spending the night. She didn't have a problem with it, always hating being alone.
She found their company relieving.
Seeing that the two are still sound asleep, she continues her trek through the big house. She arrives in the kitchen where she grabs a bottle of kombucha out of the fridge, making her way outside barefoot.
She shudders as the crisp california air nips at her skin, not use to the cold that comes in the early morning, and leaves before it even hits 12 p.m. She takes a seat on her poolside couch and sets up her camera, pressing record before rolling up.
"It's currently 5 a.m. and I couldn't sleep, so I decided to come outside and journal while the sun rises." She speaks to the camera softly, her eyes trained on the grinded-up plant in front of her. "The boys spent the night and are currently still sleeping. It was nice having them over, not having to be alone." She lights the joint and inhales the smoke, holding it in for a few seconds before exhaling.
"I'm not sure why I hate being alone so much, I think it's because I came from a big family and I'm not used to quiet...Granted it's never quiet considering my thoughts are always loud but I digress." She stops talking and flips open to an empty page, starting to write all of her thoughts and feelings down. She leaves the camera rolling, figuring she would just make it a time-lapse with some copyright-free neo-soul music playing over it.
She wasn't a typical YouTuber, never doing big fancy things and showing off. She was a more peaceful and serene one, her videos consisting of her lifestyle and talking about her feelings.
Her videos that have done well so far are her lifestyle vlogs, the main points being her smoking, painting, cooking, and shopping for crystals. It seems as if the viewers also love her monthly vinyl reviews, finding the way she expressed her love for music interesting.
That's how Chris found her.
He was looking for a YouTube video to watch before bed and he saw a thumbnail of hers. She was smoking in the thumbnail, a wall of vinyl's behind her as the title read, "fav vinyls this month".
He won't lie, he clicked on it because she was pretty, but he stayed for her personality and the raw emotions she expressed as she talked about the Fugees.
To say the least he went down a rabbit hole and watched all her videos that night, adding some of her favorite songs to a playlist.
Speaking of the boy...
She turned around hearing the patio door open, a soft smile gracing her face seeing her half-asleep boyfriend making his way towards her. "Why the hell are you up so early? And why did you leave me?" He questions plopping down next to her. "Couldn't sleep and I didn't want to bother you with my tossing and turning...Why are you up so early?"
"You know I can't sleep without you." He fixes her legs so he can lay in between them, sighing out as his head meets her soft and plush thighs. She smiles softly and runs her nails along his scalp, caressing his face at the same time. "What were you thinking about?" He mumbles when he notices the journal and pen.
She shrugs, "I'm not sure... My mind was just loud." He opens his eyes and looks up at her in worry. She notices and shakes her head, "Nothing bad, don't worry baby." He nods and relaxes back against her body.
The two lay on the couch in comfortable silence as they experience the twilight, listening to the birds chirp as they awaken from their peaceful slumber. The pool rumbles softly as it begins to clean itself, the water rippling due to the vibrations.
"This is nice," she looks down hearing Chris's groggy voice. "Hm?''
"I said this is nice... Laying here and watching the sunrise with you, not having to worry about what the day brings." She hums in agreement and watches as the skies turn from dark blue to hues of pink, purple, and orange.
The sunrise reflects off of the rippling water of the pool, casting a warm glow on the two bodies. Y/n tilts her head back as she basks in the warm rays. It seems as if her thoughts finally quieted down, giving her a chance to be calm.
Chris stares at his girlfriend, his heart swelling in admiration seeing her in her natural habitat. He truly believed she wasn't meant to be in LA. She was meant to be somewhere that had a bunch of greenery, somewhere that had a waterfall right under the sun so she could bask in it like a cat. Somewhere where she could be free and at peace.
"I can feel you staring at me," she looks down at Chris whose face has a hue of red. "Just admiring you. I can't admire my girlfriend now?" She giggles and motions for him to sit up. She pulls him into a soft kiss, enjoying the warmth of his lips.
"It's six thirty and you two are already being gross." The couple pulls away and looks at a half-awake Nick, and a sluggish Matt. The two make their way over and sit on the ground in front of the couch. "Shut up, I was enjoying time alone with my girlfriend since you two decided to crash last night." Y/n watches as Chris and Nick go back and forth, their banter not making sense since they are both still tired.
"Can both of you shut the hell up? It's early and you two are bitching for no reason." Matt grunts. Chris huffs before settling back down against Y/n, burying his face in her stomach. He kisses the brown skin before fiddling with her waist beads.
The quad dives into a conversation, not talking about anything important per say but just talking. They soon fall into silence, enjoying the peace before they have to go back to their busy lives. Not long after, Y/n's brown cat Janelle, joins them causing Matt to gasp in excitement.
As he plays with her, Y/n rolls another blunt. "I wish I could do this every day. Your house just makes me feel at home." Nick breathes out.
"That's funny considering I only find it to be homey when you guys are here." She grabs her lighter and sparks the pink wrap, inhaling it before handing it to Chris. She watches as the smoke cascades in the sun, creating shapes of different sizes.
"Wouldn't it be crazy if we all just lived with each other?" Matt voices, his tone light as he plays with the cat.
"I wouldn't be opposed to it...We are always with each other anyway." Nick adds.
"I would like that honestly," Chris eyes Y/n as she speaks, his heart racing at her words. He knows it's too soon, the two of them have only been with each other for 7 months. However he knows she's the one, his family loves her, his friends love her, he loves her. She came into his life and watered him like a plant, helping him bloom into something more.
"Fuck it, let's do it!" Everyone turns to Chris in surprise.
"Huh?"
Chris sits up and turns his body towards Y/n, "Let's move in with each other...I mean you hate living alone and we are always over anyway. Let's move in with each other."
"Are you sure Chris?" Y/n wants to scream and dance in excitement at the thought of her best friends and boyfriend living with her, but the sensible part of her isn't sure. Granted they have been friends for a year but she and Chris have only been dating for 7 months. "Yeah, I don't have a problem living with you, I think it would be great... I want this relationship to go somewhere...I think you're the one for me."
Y/n feels her eyes burning as the salty tears form, slowly descending down her face. Chris chuckles and pulls the girl into him, holding her tightly.
They all sit in silence, letting Y/n get her emotions out.
After a few minutes, Y/n sniffles and pulls away from Chris.
"Yeah."
"Yeah?"
"I'm in... I want you guys to move in with m-" Before she can finish her last word, she's dogpiled by the three boys, all of them laughing and shouting in excitment.
"Yes! This is so exciting! I'm going to love having a fully decorated house!"
"I get to see Janelle every day!"
"And I get to love on you every day!" Chris pulls her into a deep kiss, ignoring the groans of Nick and Matt.
The two brothers stand up and walk back into the house, leaving the couple alone once again.
They pull away from the kiss, their foreheads touching as they look each other in the eyes, both of their bodies full of love and tranquility.
"I love you," Chris whispers, his voice holding nothing but affection.
"I love you too"
The two lean in once again, their lips touching softly and tenderly.
The sun shines directly in front of them, the camera only able to see the silhouettes of the lovers.

Mearps with a reader who plays on like a local Sunday league football team so literally nothing close to professional, it’s just for fun. But Mary makes every game she can stood with her hood up on the sideline cheering when you so much as touch the ball or like shows off the fact that she’s yours by rolling up to get you from training or something? And you come home and dinners made “because she’s proud of you for training hard”
sunday league II m.earps
"-so are we all just expected to ignore the fact that there's an actual lioness watching us play right now." your teammate breathed out with a shake of her head making you smile.
"yes you are! heads back in the game." you ordered sternly, everyone huddled up for half time taking a water break. "she's like the least judgmental person ever guys we go through this issue every single week, relax." you chuckled as their eyes continued to flicker to your girlfriend on the sidelines.
you'd warned her over and over how intimidating her presence was at your grassroot level sunday league games however forever the proud girlfriend her solution to the problem was to just show up in a hoodie and cover her face as if that helped at all.
the ref calling for everyone to return to the pitch you turned to put your water bottle back, catching her eye as she gave you a toothy grin and a wink. "come on captain you can kiss your girlfriend later." your team mate teased as she grabbed you, dragging you back to the pitch.
though it was hardly the wsl that didn't mean none of you took your games seriously, so up by one you were determined to keep that lead if unable to widen it, shot after shot being blocked as the opposition resorted to a 5 man defensive line.
"lets go 14!" you heard mary call out your number proudly with an encouraging clap as you took another shot but it bounced off the post, kicking the ground in frustration and just waiting for the whistle to blow.
unfortunately for you luck seemed to be on their side. you watched with a defeated sigh as the ball swooshed into the back of your net, not even a minute later reprised by the whistle.
you did your best to build your team back up in a post game huddle, highlighing the positives of the game rather than the negatives and telling them you'd see them all at training on tuesday night. after a bried debrief with your coach he clapped you on the back and you grabbed your bag making your way over to mary.
"hi gorgeous." the older girl smiled sympathetically, opening her arms as you melted into her with a tired sigh. "oi, none of that. you played wonderfully love!" she assured softly as you reached up and tugged at the hood which covered your head.
"your disguise didn't work very well baby, you freaked them all out again." you smiled in amusement. "well i'm not staying away so they better get used to it." mary grinned and nudged your chin up, sweetly kissing your lips before taking your bag off you and pulling you into her side walking the two of you to her car.
"i had to fight off tooney and maya from coming with me you know? imagine if three lionesses came to watch, your team might faint on the pitch." mary teased as you rolled your eyes and she threw your bag in the back, opening your door for you.
"you know i still could-"
"no! i love you so very dearly but we do not need a mary earps masterclass at training." you shook your head but kissed her cheek in thanks anyway, knowing she meant no harm. "you look good as a wag. you know i could get you a spare jersey to wear next time?" you smirked wiggling your eyebrows as she started the car.
"oh my god and if you could sign it for me? i'd simply die i'm just your biggest fan!" mary gushed sarcastically, fanning her face with a sigh as you playfully shoved her head and she started to drive the two of you home.
~
"dinner's already done, go have a shower and i'll dish up." your girlfriend smiled softly, pecking your lips and nodding upstairs. "you're the best." you melted at the thoughtful act of domesticity.
"i know, you're so lucky." mary sighed dramatically as you shoved her. "i'm really proud of you though. my pretty hard working captain." the taller girl smiled much more sincerely as you craned your neck up to press your lips to hers.
"mm if this continues we'll both need a shower. go on love!" she pushed you away, smacking your bum with a wink. "doesn't sound like the worst idea?" you hinted, holding your hand out hopefully as she shook her head.
"later, if you play your cards right." mary smiled suggestively as she returned to the kitchen. "bold of you to hold that over me when its you who has the self control problem earps." you teased her as she flipped you off and you disappeared upstairs.
"you know baby it's just such a shame you're a...striker." mary gagged later on, forcing out the word as you punched her in the arm and continued drying the dishes she handed you.
"some of us like participating in games, not just sitting back in the net being bossy and yelling at everyone." you smirked as your girlfriend dropped the dish she was washing and fixed you with a glare.
within seconds you'd dropped the tea towel, racing off as she charged after you, your laughters filling your space before inevitably she caught you, the keeper taking you down to the floor with a grin.
"i'll show you bossy."

Sunday -
You were able to unpack most of your ‘chaos’ the next day. Fun distractions in every box as you slowly put your life back together one side step at a time. Your A/C was working over time by mid day, the temperature outside almost breaking 90. Stuttering every so often with the heat trying to get the best of it, the sun shines through your window with harsh light directly on your freshly hung Ivy. The intensity of it at its peak in the sky threatens to fry them before they even have a chance to start.
“Gotta get some curtains,” you mumble to yourself, adding it to the long list of things you already need.
Licking sticky red lips, you grab the plastic cup you just drained the last of your wine from, the warm buzz of the alcohol making you sweat as you rinse it haphazardly. Water splashes all over the sink before you fill it up to the brim, your bare feet pad with low quick thumps against the wood floor, skin a little slick with every step to your window.
The Cure’s ‘Just like heaven’ cuts off the loop you had it playing on all day when you get a notification on your phone, but you keep humming along as you step up on the ledge, kicking away the newly added throw pillows. The wrath of the summer sun makes sweat bead at the crown of your hair while the soil absorbs what you give it like it hasn’t been watered in days. A flash of color catches the corner of your eye, stealing your attention to the window.
That's when you see Steve.
He wears red running shorts this time, the color making his bronze skin pop while the black tank top that hangs loose off his shoulders has his arms on full display. The darkened patches from the heat on the front and back of It makes the damp cotton dip to tease the curled hair on his chest that matches his legs. His jog stops once he hits his gate, pulling out his AirPods his shoulders move up and down with his heavy breaths. He looks even better than yesterday, the sheen that covers him making him glow.
That’s when he does it, he takes it off.
Long fingers find the bottom of his shirt as he pulls it over his head, abs flexing when it gets caught at the bottom of his chin for a second. He pushes back his hair with both hands catching that stray that never seems to go away. Cold water hits your toes, a squeak leaving your mouth at the sight.
“Shit, shit, shiiit.”
You set the cup down cursing under your breath and you know you should look away but when you see the dark happy trail that runs down into his shorts you can’t. Not yet.
If he can feel you staring he doesn’t show it when he sits down on his porch swing, the muscles in his thighs bulging against the nylon. He dabs his forehead with his discarded tank top, letting his neck fall slack and his head tilt back using it to shield his eyes when he’s done.
Watching past the point of what feels appropriate you pry yourself from the view suddenly needing the coldest shower.

Wednesday -
Job hunting day was long and hot. Your feet are sore from hours spent walking in the haze of the sun, the bottoms of your converse peeling against the pavement with each step. The trains were more confusing than you’d bargained for, opting for the bus and expecting some reprieve but somehow managed to get on the one that offered you none. Packed tight against strangers in a heat that was somehow even worse than the one outside, you glowered at your feet.
Oh yeah, and you hated that every song on your shuffle reminded you of the man you spent all of ten minutes with.
The biggest glass of wine you could humanly pour calls your name by the time you get to the end of your block. Your pace is quick with annoyance, and the need for A/C is urgent when your thighs start to rub together, stinging in the humid air.
That’s when you see him. Again.
He’s getting out of BMW M6, a dark red one with black trim, shiny with the kind of paint that glitters in the sun like just went through a car wash. The tint of the windows is just dark enough to give you a glimpse at the silhouette of the car seats and the air freshener that dangles over his rear view mirror. He’s fully clothed this time, a white long sleeve dress shirt that clings to him like it’s custom tucked into dark gray slacks that look freshly pressed. The black oxfords on his feet look polished with no scuffs in sight, and when he goes to answer his phone by the bluetooth in his ear the silver of his watch reflects off the light. The look is thrown though by the familiar blue of a Cubs hat, backwards on his head - that loose strand hangs out the front. Ray Bans cover those eyes that a few days ago couldn’t stay off of you.
“Of course,” you grumble to yourself, trying to ignore the hope that starts tightening in your chest.
“Hey Ron! It’s Steve.” The whites of his teeth show themselves in a confident smile that’s not directed at you.
He stops at his mailbox as you reach your gate thinking there’s no way he hasn’t noticed you. You just want him to at least acknowledge you.
He hums in agreement to whatever ‘Ron’ is saying on the other end, throwing in an ‘exactly’ every now and then. You watch as his expert fingers pop the buttons up at the bottom of his sleeves, before rolling them up to his elbows, the muscles in his forearms moving. The few seconds in the heat already getting to him.
“Don’t worry, I got you seats right behind home plate for helping me make this right on such short notice.”
He keeps his head down and he sifts through envelopes, humming a ‘no thank you” before the noticeable click and end of the phone call. The metal of your gate seems to creak louder than usual, but the noise still isn’t enough for him to look your way. Not even when your steps mirror each other’s as you both make it to your respective doors. You keep peeking over as you jiggle your lock, silently trying to get his attention.
He tucks his mail between his teeth as he searches for his house key. A muffled ‘aha!’ when he finds them, quickly unlocking his own door before freeing his mouth to greet Bandit. The sound of his nails pattering excitedly against the floor fills the quiet between you two before the slam of his door.

Friday -
It had been two days since you even caught a glimpse of your confusing neighbor, making it easier to get back to your normal brain chemistry. Instead of running through your first day here over and over again, you focused on prepping for the interview you got called back for.
The bright glow of the moon breaks through the sheer curtains of your room competing with the warmth of your bedside lamp. Your bluetooth speaker is set at a volume that is only meant for you to hear while The Marias Care For You becomes the soundtrack to finally organizing your room.
You dance a little as you make your way around your space, smiling as you walk past the window. The flick of a light breaks your concentration making you search for where it came from, the regret is instant when you find the source.
You don’t know how it took you a week to realize his bedroom was right across from yours, but the way he’s walking around in nothing but a low slung towel makes you think he doesn’t know either. Water drips from the tips of his hair and down his chest, curling the dark thatch that connects to the happy trail that you’d been teased with earlier in the week. There’s a subtle dip between his hips, a soft V that taunts you.
The books in your hand slip from your grip, the hard spine connecting with the top of your toes.
“Ouch - fuck!”
You scream loud enough to duck, scared that your outburst caught his attention while your hands wrap around your foot in an attempt to soothe the pain. You rock back and forth a little until the aftershock subsides. Still too scared to stand, you crawl towards your window to see if your worst fear actually came to life.
Your fingers rest on the window pane as you slowly let your eyes peek above the wood. He’s not looking at your window, but his towel is now replaced with just as low hanging dark green mesh shorts. His back is turned towards you revealing even more freckles and moles than the ones you’d discovered on his arms and nose. His shoulder blades move as he texts someone on his phone. The glow of the screen lighting his face in the reflection of the mirror over his dresser.
You groan as you slink back, laying on your floor with a huff. Staring at the ceiling with a sweaty palm on your forehead, the image of him in the towel is etched in your mind, making your blood run hot. You’ll need better curtains for your bedroom too.
Trash, you’ll take out the trash.
Tumblr media
There’s a chill with the breeze when you get outside, the humidity disappearing with the sun for once. The street lamp flickers over the alleyway, the glow of the full moon doing more to light your path. Goosebumps dance over the exposed skin of your legs, while you keep your eyes on your feet as you move over the uneven ground. completely focused on not rolling your ankle again, you don’t notice the sounds of sports highlights getting closer.
“God, of course he choked— umph!”
Steve’s voice catches your attention too late for you to stop the slam of your face into the hard muscles of his chest. The sound of glass breaking in your trash bag echoes loud through the quiet when you drop it next to your feet, quickly followed by the skid of his phone. Your cheek bounces lightly off of him, the material of his gray shirt soft against your skin. The hair hidden underneath is still wet enough for you to feel the way it dampens the cotton, while the mint and pine of his body wash overwhelms your senses. His hands find your hips to steady your balance, fingertips accidentally brushing the top curve of your ass when they spread wide to get a grip.
“Whoa! Easy tiger.” There’s a smirk in his words and tobacco on his breath, the heat of it fanning across your face.
Your eyes finally meet the greens of his and the golden specks are just as easy to get lost in as the first time. There’s less peppered stubble covering the sharp edges of his features, the shadowing of it signaling that he must have shaved since the last time you saw him. The moon reveals a new set of moles that sit like vampire bites on the underside of his jaw, a placement that makes you wet your lips. Your heartbeat pulsing through your fingertips wrapped in his shirt. His grip on your hips stays unwavering while he takes in your face like he missed something he didn’t know he lost.
The sound of a car honking signals its presence down the alley breaking you two apart, the headlights making you squint when they hit your line of sight. His hands drop quickly and you untangle yours, taking a step back as the car drives past at what feels like a snail's pace. There’s a beat of silence before you clear your throat.
“Fancy meeting you here,” you offer as a bad attempt at breaking the ice. It makes him snort a little, sidestepping you briefly to grab his phone that landed on the gravel next to your feet. The score of the Cubs game is still playing from the small speaker.
The low light conceals the way your eyes wander when the back of his shirt rides up as he bends down. The baseball game drowns out the sound of you swallowing hard when you don’t see an outline of briefs under his shorts. He clicks the button on the side, cutting the sportscast off abruptly and for the second time you wonder if he can hear your thoughts.
He smirks when he brings his attention back to you, almost missing the way his gaze wanders around your curves when he drops his phone in his pocket.
“You’re telling me, I thought this was an exclusive spot.” He laughs, nervously scratching the back of his neck.
There’s a beat of awkward silence this time.
“Well, not gonna force you to chat. Have a good night Steve.” You try not to let it show how much it bothers you as you pick your trash back up.
“How’s your ankle? Did the ice pack help?” He blurts out before you can walk away.
You stare at him for a second, eyes raking over his face as you try to decipher his mood swings.
“Yeah, it helped a lot. Thank you.” Your smile is small but it makes his whole face light up. “Tell Bandit I said thanks too. Maybe give him another kiss for me.”
You watch the way his ears turn the rosy color of his cheeks as he looks down, kicking the rocks at his slipper covered feet.
“I’m sure he’ll be very appreciative of such a kind gesture.” He looks at you from under his lashes, the playful spark from the day you met slowly coming back.
“I hope I didn’t do anything last week to make you uncomfortable - “ you start out, determined to address the elephant in the alley between you, and his eyes get big when he finally registers what you’re saying.
“What? Uncomfortable? No, honey - look, you didn’t do anything to make me run off like that. There’s some things about me that you don’t know, it’s just - I’m sorry,” he huffs out, shoulders slumping defeated when he realizes how he’s come across.
“I’m just trying to make some friends around here. Thought I had one in you and Bandit, but I guess not.” You try to lighten the shift in his mood when you look up at him with an exaggerated sullen face, and it works when the whites of his teeth start to show, eyes crinkling at their corners.
“We can be friends.” He chuckles with his signature nervous tick, long fingers running through damp hair. “Bandit can be a little high maintenance though.”
It’s your turn to laugh, a giggle bubbling past your lips and Steve thinks it’s one of the prettiest sounds he’s ever heard. He wants to make you do it again.
“I think I can handle him, it’s his owner I have to worry about.“ You roll your eyes before you peek over at him with a smirk.
“That old guy next door? I heard he’s pretty lame, you might give him a big head if you wanna be his friend.” He lays it on extra thick by taking the trash bag from your hand, walking the few short steps to the dumpster for you.
He tosses it in with ease, his shoulder blades moving under his shirt. The lid closes loudly,  drowning out the way your heart is trying to jump from your chest when he makes his way back.
“That was a very friendly thing for you to do, Steve. Thank you,”  you tease, making him snort at your bad play on words.
“Gotta make myself indispensable, tough girl.” He winks not missing a beat, lips stretching into that million dollar smile you saw him give on the phone the other day. Only this time it’s just for you.
“Well you’re really starting to build your case.” You bite your lip to try to hide the way you want to mirror him.
“Oh, you’re not gonna be able to get rid of me with good conscience.” He stops in front of you, eyes meeting yours like they did the first time. The smell of his body wash takes over again while the stray he’s always pushing back makes a reappearance. “Do me a favor though? No more taking your trash out this late. At least not alone.”
“Are you going to come over and help every time I need to take it out past nine?” You grin, crossing your arms, only half way teasing when you see a rat scurry by.
“What are friends for?” He shrugs, playing along with ease, whatever nerves he was battling with before retreating when his smile turns lopsided. The rake of his fingers through his hair seems intentional this time, especially when he licks his lips.
You wonder if he can hear the flaps of butterfly wings in your stomach, or how your breath hitches.
“Already working your way to best friend status Steve, careful,” you warn, trying to hide your nerves in humor and it works, earning a full belly laugh from him.
“Have a good night honey. I’m right next door if you need anything.” His hand reaches out as if  to touch your arm, but he pulls back at the last minute, fingers flexing looking for that ‘missing’ ring again at his side.
“See you around, Steve.” You smile warmly trying to save him from whatever internal spiral you saw him trying to fight off again.
Your touch is gentle when you do what he was too scared too. His skin is warm against your palm, the muscles moving underneath the simple gesture. You trace the pad of your thumb over the same cluster of freckles twice before you let go with a squeeze, heading back to the wooden gate that closes off your shared backyard.
He doesn’t answer till you’re almost all the way through.
“I hope so!”
The smile that spreads across your face can’t be contained any longer, hidden from him when your back presses to the wooden door as your gate latches closed loudly behind it. You wait until you hear him get inside, silently trying to decipher whatever he was mumbling to himself the whole way there but failing.
You can’t help but replay the whole interaction back in your head as you make your way back upstairs, trying to manage your expectations. The words ‘there’s some things about me that you don’t know’ stick to the front of your brain like glue, just like the word ‘friends’.
You avoid your bedroom window for the rest of the night, and vow to get better curtains in the morning.

All of Me

Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin x You

The note with Jake’s number is shoved into your desk drawer to be forgotten. Out of sight, out of mind, right?
Wrong.
You find yourself thinking of him often as the week goes by; wondering what he’s doing while you’re in a meeting, hoping he’s not eating alone as Drew tells you about his day over dinner and remembering his touch when your fingers trail between your legs.
The weekend comes and goes quickly. Saturday is spent at Drew’s baseball tournament and Sunday is catching up and prepping for the week.
You fall into bed that night, exhausted, and drift off in minutes, which is a rare but welcomed occurrence as sleep likes to evade you. Once Drew’s down for the night and the house is dark, you struggle to fight off the underlying loneliness that’s always pressing in on you. Coming back to a quiet house is especially difficult after the constant hustle and bustle at all hours while deployed.
You wake up gasping just a few hours later; pillow damp from your tears as you reach for Andy beside you.
But the bed is just as cold and empty as your heart has been for the past 8 years.
Sleep then evades you, like it normally does after dreaming of your first love.
•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•
Rolling over with a sigh, you reach for your phone, but the doom scrolling does little to quiet your mind.
You were a brand new resident when Andy came in with a laceration above his eyebrow and a possible concussion after a training accident.
Even with the swelling, blood and the start of a black eye, you could see how attractive he was.
It had been a busy day and your preceptor left you to suture him once the concussion was ruled out as she was pulled away to help with a more pressing matter.
“This your first time?” Andy jokes, noticing the way you stalled; how you kept checking and rechecking you had all the supplies needed on the tray and looking at the door, praying your supervising physician would be back soon.
“Of course not,” you scoff dramatically before giving him a small smile, “I’ll have you know, I’ve put stitches in plenty of oranges and chicken breasts.”
His colleague, tasked with bringing him to the ER, chuckles from behind you.
A code-blue is called overhead and you sigh. There’s your sign that you’re on your own.
“Sorry,” you murmur when he hisses at the burn of the lidocaine you were injecting to numb him. “Almost done.”
“You’re going to feel pressure and pulling, but let me know if you feel anything sharp,” you tell him after giving the lidocaine time to work, taking a deep breath when he nods.
“Ow,” he says quietly as soon as you touch him. He’s teasing you again but it still makes you jump.
“Seriously?” You scold but he’s got the cutest grin and you can’t help but smile too.
“Sorry, I’ll be good,” he apologizes, still grinning.
“You better be,” you reply as you poke him with the curved needle. “Your pretty face is my hands. Okay?” You ask when he doesn’t flinch.
“Just fine,” he confirms. “You think I have a pretty face?”
“Maybe you do have a concussion,” you tease him, keeping your eyes on the work your hands are doing. “I never said that.”
“It’s true, Kernsie,” his friend pipes up from behind you. “She said your shitty face is in her hands.”
You can’t help but laugh.
“Oh fuck you, Bradshaw,” Andy chuckles too. His hand brushes accidentally brushes your waist when he reaches around you to flip him off and color rises in his cheeks. “Sorry ma’am.”
“It’s okay,” you murmur, just thankful that you’re halfway done.
“What’s your name?” He asks with 2 sutures to go. “Your first name.”
“Reese,” you reply.
“Like the peanut butter cups?”
“Exactly,” you confirm. “My mom craved them the whole time she was pregnant with me. They’re also my favorite.”
“Mine too,” he says and his eyes flick to yours. “You have beautiful eyes, Reese,” he murmurs lowly, so only you can hear.
It’s your turn to blush as you finish up.
“All done,” you say, stepping back and handing him a mirror. “I was able to follow your brow line so the scarring should be minimal.”
“Thanks for keeping my face pretty,” he smiles, making your heart skip a beat.
“Shitty,” Bradley coughs.
•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•
“Reese?”
You nearly jump out of your skin and reach for the pepper spray on your bag as you walk to your car an hour later. You were distracted having a mini pity party because you’ll never see Andy again that you didn’t notice someone waiting on the bench outside the door.
“Shit, sorry!” Andy says, rising. “It’s me, Andy, I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“What are you doing here?” You ask, hand still on your pepper spray.
“I-fuck.” He sighs and turns to a light blue Bronco in the parking lot. “I told you this was a bad idea, Bradshaw. I scared the shit out of her.”
You squint and see Bradley giving him a double thumbs up from the driver's seat.
“I’m-uh, gonna go,” Andy says, stepping toward his ride. “I’m really sorry again, for scaring you.”
“Wait,” you take your hand away from the bottle. “Are you okay? Did you need something?”
“No, I’m fine. You did a great job,” he assures you. “I just…”
“He wouldn’t stop talking about you,” Bradley calls out the window when Andy hesitates. “He said he wished he would’ve asked for your number and then made me stop at a gas station before coming back and-“
“Thanks, Bradshaw, she gets it,” Andy interrupts, flustered. Somehow, it makes him even cuter. “Here,” he hands you a plastic bag.
Inside are Reese’s peanut butter cups.
Unexpected tears prickle in your eyes at the sweet gesture. Once your mom figured out that you liked them too, she never bought them again.
“Thank you,” you say softly, smiling.
“You’re welcome,” he replies, returning your smile before opening the door. “Have a good night.”
“Wait,” you call as you pull out your phone. “Can I get your number?”
•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•
You finally fall back asleep only minutes before your alarm goes off and you’re dragging by the time you get Drew to school and yourself to work.
You’re filled with a mixture of butterflies and nostalgia when you see the familiar orange package on your desk when you enter your office.
Though there isn’t a note, you know it’s from Jake; you had mentioned the love of your namesake the night you’d spent together.
A smile pulls at your lips as you slide it into your top drawer to eat later, right next to Jake’s number.
Your heart pounds as you add his number to his phone. It can’t hurt to have another trustworthy man just a phone call away. Especially if Ron, Roo, Iceman, and Mav are busy.
That’s how you justify it at least.
•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•
“Can I take Drew tonight?” Bradley asks, eating his lunch in your office on Friday.
“Maybe,” you reply, taking a bite of the sweet chocolate treat that was left on your desk this morning. There had been one on your desk nearly every day this week. “If you tell me what you guys are gonna do.”
“You know I can’t tell you that, Kernsie,” he rolls his eyes. “What happens at boys nights-“
“Stays at boys' nights,” you finish with a sarcastic sigh. “Fine.”
“You should get laid while I’ve got him, maybe then you won’t be so-hey!” he laughs as you throw your wrapper at him.
•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•
Bradley picks up Drew at 5.
By 6, you’ve typed out but deleted multiple messages to Jake.
You put your phone face down and sigh as you sit on the couch.
Forget it, Reese. He’s probably got plans; it’s a Friday night and he’s hot, young, and single.
Another hour and several frustrated sighs later, you hit send.
Reese: Thanks for the peanut butter cups.
Your heart flutters when your phone rings a minute later.
“Reese? Hey,” he says when you answer. “You’re welcome. How was your week?”
Long. Exhausting. Lonely.
“Busy, you?”
Faint laughter in the background has your heart sinking.
Of course, he’s not sitting at home on a Friday night.
“I’m sorry, you’re busy. I shouldn’t-“ you start but he interrupts.
“I’m not busy. Nat and Javy’s invited me over so I’m third-wheeling as usual,” he assures you. “I’m happy you reached out. I’ve been hoping I’d hear from you.”
You smile.
“What are you up to tonight? Drew asleep already?” He asks.
“I doubt he’s asleep, he’s having boys' night with Bradley.”
“I see. So you’re home alone.”
“I am.”
“How do you feel about that?” He asks, hope lacing his tone.
“A little lonely,” you admit.
“I could keep you company?” He offers. “No strings, no expectations. Just two friends hanging out.”
“Can friends fuck?” You blurt out then wince.
Real smooth.
But you smile at his sharp inhale.
“I don’t see why not,” he replies after a beat.
“I’ll text you my address.”
•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•
Reese: 418 Magnolia Lane.
You toss your phone onto the bed before changing out of the old, threadbare shirt of Andy’s you had put on after work, ignoring the pang of guilt. Not bothering with undergarments, you slip on a silky pair of shorts and a tank top, shivering at the way the material feels against your nipples.
Your phone dings as he replies.
Jake: Got it. Be there in 15.
Jake: Actually, might be closer to 20. I’ve gotta stop and pick up condoms first.
You’re surprised and a little relieved that he doesn’t have any on him.
Reese: Good thinking. See you soon.
•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•
He rings your doorbell exactly 23 minutes later and you have to force yourself to not rush to answer it.
“You’re late,” you tease when you open the door.
“I am,” he admits and hands over the pretty arrangement of flowers he’s holding. “My mom would smack me silly if she knew I showed up somewhere empty-handed, so I stopped at the flower stand.”
The butterflies in your stomach come back as you take them and step back to let him in. “Thank you, Jake.”
He gives you a smile and follows you to the kitchen to find a vase.
A wave of sadness washes over you though as you set them on the counter.
“Something wrong?” Jake asks, brushing your fingers with his when he sees your mood shift. “Are they too much? The guy said yellow roses mean friendship and I-.”
“Not at all,” you shake your head and give him a sad smile. “They’re beautiful, really. I just…I don’t remember the last time someone gave me flowers.”
You do remember, actually. It was Andy’s funeral. But you’re well aware that talking about your late husband makes people uncomfortable.
“Not since Andy died?” Jake asks softly.
You shake your head but then paste on a smile. “Sorry,” you say as you turn and open the fridge. “Have you eaten? I made dinner earlier and there’s leftovers in the fridge.”
“I ate earlier but thanks,” he replies, reaching for your hand. You expect him to kiss you, but instead, he pulls you in for a hug.
It feels so good to have his arms wrapped around you and he smells amazing; a heady mix of clean laundry and a hint of expensive cologne.
Your hands slide under his shirt as you start your relax and goosebumps follow your fingers as you trace over the warm skin of his back. Your breath hitches when he hardens against your stomach
You gather the thin material of his shirt in your hands and he helps you pull it over his head.
You bite your lip as your eyes hungrily roam over his tan chest and the cut ridges of his stomach before he pulls you back with a cocky smirk.
He leans in for a kiss but dodges your mouth, making you shiver when he instead presses his lips against your ear to murmur, “Like what you see?”
It’s cute how he thinks he’s got the upper hand.
“Yes,” you sigh, as your hand slides down his chest and over his belt to palm his cock, straining against the confines of his jeans. “I‘ve pictured you every time I’ve touched myself since our night together.”
He groans softly against your ear and his hips push further into your hand. “Tell me more?”
“I remembered the way you fucked me against the door,” your head falls back as he kisses down your neck. “How you looked up at me from your knees, figuring out what I like making me cum,” your eyes close as he hums against your shoulder, remembering too. Your hand slides up to the button of his jeans and he stills. “Imagining what it would be like to return the favor. Can I?”
He sucks in a breath before nodding.
You loved giving head, but it was intimate for you. Since you’ve only had a few hookups since Andy, this would be your first time in over 8 years. So your hands shake as you undo his jeans and you pull them down with you when you kneel.
Jake notices, ever observant.
But you tongue the precum through the fabric of his Calvin’s before he can protest and you moan when you’re rewarded with another burst.
“It’s just…it’s been a while,” you explain, looking up at him from under your lashes and do it again before you tug down his briefs. “So let me know if I do anything you don’t like.”
He nods, tucking your hair behind your ear.
•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•
“So big,” you murmur when you bring a hand up to wrap around him and your fingers can’t reach your thumb. He sighs as you trace the vein running the length of him.
He’s quiet, only breathing heavier while his hands clench and release at his sides as you continue teasing him with licks and flicks of your tongue before you finally pull him into your mouth.
“Oh Reese,” he breathes, closing his eyes as he leans back against the counter.
You nearly whimper when you look up at him. He looks wrecked; cheeks flushed pink and a light sheen of sweat covers his heaving chest.
Your other hand trails up your thigh and over your shorts as you start to bob your head, starting slowly and pulling a little more of him into your mouth each time.
“Fuck,” He gasps, knuckles turning white as he grips the edge of the counter when your lips meet your fingers circling him and you swallow.
You can tell he’s starting to get close.
His eyes fly open at the moan that escapes when your fingers find your clit through the silky material of your shorts.
“Oh God,” he rasps when he sees you touching yourself. “W-wait.”
“What’s wrong?” You pant, pulling him from your mouth.
“I can’t-I’m gonna cum,” he winces before he looks to the ceiling in effort and staves off his orgasm.
“Good,” you murmur and you begin to stroke him with the hand still gripping him.
“But I-fuck!”
He startles and his hips jerk when you draw him back to the wet heat of your mouth. He cums with a choked groan as he coats your chin and chest with thick white stripes.
•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•
“I am so incredibly sorry,” he says lowly, obviously mortified as he looks down at you covered in his spend.
“That was…” you bring your fingers up to wipe your chin, “so fucking hot.”
He watches with rapt attention as you bring your fingers to your mouth to suck them clean.
•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<•>•
A/N: Sorry, kind of an abrupt ending. So…we find out more about Andy. I hope I’m not being annoying by including him so much…just trying to portray how hard it’s been on Reese.
What do you guys think?
As always, any interaction is appreciated but I love hearing what you think in comments/reblogs!

Best friends little sister Pt. 3
Tumblr media
Pablo got the picture in his inbox the same morning. His heart jumped as he read Vinicius' instructions while I was peacefully sleeping on his arm. I told Pedri I will sleep over at Masa's and stayed with Pablo after the game to properly celebrate the win.
The picture
Tumblr media
"Fuck!" he said and I slowly woken up brushing the sleep from my eyes smiling at Pablo's face above mine. I moved in starting to kiss his neck but when he pulled away I looked at him in confusion.
"You have to go! Um..I have a physical today" he says and I was completely lost since last night he promised me the whole day in bed? Did he really forget about the physical???
"But it's Sunday Pablito???" you remind him but he said they scheduled him earlier and he needs to be ready quickly. With barely a peck did he leave the bed as I got ready and left back home..not knowing that will be the last kiss in awhile I will share with Pablo.
Pablo knew that if he as far as looked at you, the picture will leak and ruin everything..any chance of being with me in peace...his friendship with Pedri..and my relationship with your brother. He needed to push me away no matter how badly he craved being by my side..it was for the better for all!
For the next five days I tried reaching out to Pablo without success. If I texted him, he didn't reply. If I called it went straight to voice mail. Today I decided to go to training and catch him before he left the dressing room..I was desperate and worried why he was suddenly so cold towards me???
"Um Gavi..can I ask you something???" I saw him leaving with Frankie in shock to see me standing by the dressing room in my school uniform. He followed after me looking back worried that Pedri might see something. We went into the conference room and he put down the blinds.
"What are you doing here!? And during school hours!? Are you crazy!?" he said but I didn't even listen to a single word rushing and kissing him feverishly..it's what I needed for all these days!
Although kissing me back, he was quick to pull away and walk backwards away from me..I needed to know what was going on with him???
"God you're so needy!!! Can't you understand I'm done with you!!!???" Pablo yelled but it didn't matter what he said, I refused to believe that is the truth..it couldn't be because it was so sudden and with no explanation!!!
"P..Pablo..what happened? what did I do??" you say tears filling into your eyes as you tried getting closer but he once again stepped back..like he was running away from you.
"You're a kid and I satisfied my craving, vale! Now just leave me alone" he said and your heart shattered..you left home in tears and haven't stopped crying for the next two weeks.
Meanwhile Pablo never played worse in his life..missing the passes..not scoring since the last El Classico and arguing with everyone all the time. He felt defeated and angry first at himself for not telling Pedri on time which would make it imposible for Vini to threaten him like this. He messed it all up!
"Y/n is really going through something..wanna throw her a beach party tonight??" Pedri said and at the mention of my name Pablo looked up suddenly being interested. It was his fault you were "going through something" so the lest he can do is help. They invited everyone.
At home, you were working on an english project.,
"And they wanted to run away together because of forbidden love.." Jacobo talked but I was somewhere else wondering how could I be so stupid to believe only my heart..my head always told me it was wrong and I should have listened!!!
"Please like they really love each other!" you snarl at the boy who held a book and looked at you with raised eyebrows. Great! Now he thinks I'm some anti love lunatic! Well done!!!
"Sorry..I just think they don't even know each other that well to be able to love each other" I tried to explain but Jacobo was already in my face with his lips on mine kissing me deeply. What the fuck!??? I pulled away wiping my lips.
"What are you doing???" I say and he apologized starting to pack his books. I then sighed telling him it was alright to talk about it like adults.
"I'm so sorry..I just like you and being so close lately.." he said but I never thought about it like that. Yeah, we spend time together at school and were partners for this English project but it was nowhere near kissing one another.
"I'm just.." I start but then didn't even know what to answer next..I'm nothing..Pablo used me..that was all!!!
"with someone else?" Jacob asked
"yes..NO!..um I'm just not up for it" I say mumbling and he smiled nodding his head and taking mine. He kissed it gently before getting up and ready to leave.
"I understand..but I'll fight for you..that you should know" he said and I blushed while walking him to the front door. Pedri watched me from the kitchen smiling excited to see your reaction tonight at the party.
It felt good knowing someone else wants to fight for me..so why the hell were tears spilling down my cheeks again!? Will I forever belong to Pablo Gavi!!!???
"Hermanita!!!" Pedri called a few hours later and I groaned walking down just to have him put a blindfold onto my eyes.
"You know if you weren't my brother, this would constitute as kidnapping, right Pepi???" I say giggling and he told me to stay quiet while driving me to the beach. Drive wasn't long but i was very impatient so I kept bothering him.
"Alright, alright we're here! Stop whining finally!" he said walking me and I could smell the ocean already and my feet felt the warm sand..I smiled.
"Are we at the beach???" I ask and he slowly took off the blindfold as everyone yelled "SURPRISE!" and I jumped holding my hands on my mouth. I couldn't believe he did all this for me..I really had a special brother!!!
Everyone was there around the large bonfire..Rapha brought smores and Balde played music on his speaker...Frankie turned on the grill..Ansu, Araujo and others played ball in the sand..and everyone was happy. Well, almost everyone was here..Pablo was nowhere to be found..I was happy about that but then light shined from the parking before he emerged from the shadow and my blood froze.
Our eyes met and I couldn't handle it..tears returned to my eyes and I just had to run away and get some air..it was a first ever panic attack I've experienced and the whole world felt like closing in on me.
I was sitting on the rock shaking until two arms held me and I looked into my brother's concerned eyes. He put his jacket over me holding me there in silence as I cried..why did he have to hurt me!? why me!? i never wanted anything but to love and be loved..and now i feel like a used up toy..
"Hey, whatever it is hermanita..you can tell your Pepi, bueno? I know it's kind of like I'm your parent here but I'm also just your brother..i never snitched on your to mom and dad, vale?" he spoke and I wanted to spill it all..the whole truth..and beg him to forgive me..to not hurt Pablo..but I didn't have the heart to hurt him..and even though I hate to admit, I didn't want to hurt Pablo either.
"I like someone..but I rejected him today" you lie feeling sick to your stomach that after everything he'd done, you were still lying to Pedri's face.
"You were scared?" he asked and I nodded..what else were I meant to do? one lie after another..it felt eternal at that point.
"Just call him..he's a fool if he doesn't want you" he said and I smile nodding and taking the phone he gave me..Pablo Gavi..you're one big fool!!!! I dialed Jacobo's number..
Pedri returned and Gavi after chugging onto another beer out of desperation asked about me..he wanted to follow after me..to hold me against himself and tell me he lied..that he loves me..so much it drives him crazy..but he knew he couldn't..not with Pedri already leaving.
"It's about the boy like always with girls.." he said and Pablo clenched his jaw..he was ready for his best friend to punch him into oblivion after I told him about everything but punch never came.
"She left with Jacobo, let's drink" when those words left Pedri's lips Gavi's whole body contracted and he watched you hop onto another boys motorcycle and drive off..he clenched his grip on the bottle and it broke leaving his hand bloody.
That night after Jacobo brought me home after nice dinner and kissed me tonight, I regretted it all..lying to Pedri again..getting into a relationship I don't want..and ever giving Pablo Gavi a chance. I fell asleep with tears once again.
A stumbling sound didn't wake me up but cold kisses on my shoulder and neck did and I really was about to scream but a hand was covering my mouth. I turned around and saw Pablo there clearly too wasted to know what he was doing.
"What are you doing here!!? Please leave!??" I tried getting up but he was too strong and had me pinned down on the bed with heavy breathing.
"Please..just one more time..we won't do anything..I just want to hold you one more time.." he was slurring his words and my heart was racing..he was clearly still feeling the same thing I did. But i had a boyfriend now..it was even more wrong then before!!
"i have.." but he didn't let me finish that sentence..he couldn't bare it in that moment and I knew it as his eyes were filling with tears.
"please cielo.." he whispered and I sighed feeling a lump in my throat from that nickname pulling his arm and making him cuddle me tightly as we both fell asleep..suddenly nothing else felt wrong.
Pablo woke up first..he had a horrendous headache but smiled looking down at me in his arms sleeping peacefully. I looked like an angel with my hair scattered down his arm holding onto him while his hand rested on my butt. It was perfect..and if he could hide from Pedri then he could hide from Vini as well!
Just as he was about to kiss me good morning did my phone ring and I jumped looking at my new boyfriend's name shining on the screen. I heard Pablo groaning and throwing his head back in annoyance.
"You should go and..Pablo don't ever do this again!"I said about to answer but he took my phone hanging up instead.
"You let me stay because you wanted it too! I know you're still mine pequeñita.." he said about to pull me close but I was done with his games. He hurt my feelings and made me feel like his toy only to act like it didn't happen..well that won't happen!!!
"I let you stay because you were wasted and wouldn't let go off my waist! I'm done crying over you so just get out!" I were as cold as he was seeing something in his eyes sparkle and it had a red ting..he was angry. The doorbell rang and we both went downstairs.
It couldn't be Pedri since he was at training that Pablo clearly decided to ditch..so it could only be Jacobo..shit!
"Hey beba I brought you coffee..oh hi Pablo, I'm a huge fan" he said and there went Pablo's confidence as he smirked looking at your annoyed face. Pablo took the coffee from the boys hands and you stood there in disbelief..what an asshole!
"She hates coffee in the morning cause it makes her stomach upset..see you around pequeñita" he smirks winking and you fought an urge to throw a rock at his big head right now! Although he was right..Pablo did know you so much better than Jacobo..
We went to school and there was Masa waiting for an explanation..Jacobo kissed me and left and I told her everything she missed since being away.

Bad For Business: Level Two
Tumblr media
Steve Harrington x fem!reader [2K] An enemies to lovers au. Arcade coworkers, who love to hate each other, get too competitive about Dig Dug and share a mutal annoyance for the kids that like to pester them. Choose your own adventure by picking an option at the end of the chapter. “I’m gonna need you to stay late tonight,” Murray said through a mouthful of his sandwich. You startled, realising he was talking to you. Robin sunk down in her seat, her eyes trained on her microwaved pasta. “The games are getting serviced, but they’re not gonna be done until, pshh, midnight? Maybe.”
“What?” You stared at your boss, your own lunch forgotten about. “But Robin was working that, wasn’t this already, uh, discussed?”
“Buckley has a medical appointment,” Murray replied, too busy staring at some coffee stained sheets of paper to give you any attention. “And I don’t like to pry into my employees personal lives, so, you’re it, kid.”
You turned, neck snapping to the girl. She was already grimacing, knowing fine well that you knew there was absolutely no appointment. Your friend had spent all week gushing about a date she had at the weekend, you just assumed it was Sunday, not Saturday, seeing as she was already on the rota for the late shift.
“Oh no. I hope you’re not too sick, Robin,” you said through clenched teeth.
The girl sunk further down, her nose level with the table and her lukewarm pasta. She had the good grace to wince and mouth ‘sorry’ at you, eyes wide and apologetic.
“Anyway, you and Harrington can utilise your time and do something productive, like cleaning the popcorn machine,” Murray waved a hand, distracted, knocking his coffee mug dangerously close to the computer.
The popcorn machine hadn’t worked since 1973 but you didn’t bother mentioning that, too hung up on the other name that Murray had lumped yours with. “Harrington?” You glared between your boss and Robin, who was now positively morose. “Steve? Steve’s on the late with me? No. No.”
Murray laughed, a mean cackle that told you there wasn’t really any point in arguing, but you tried anyway. “Murray, please, c’mon. Can’t Argyle do the late? Carver? Literally anyone else?”
The man snorted, finally turning on his computer chair, the wheels protesting and he was grinning at you, gaze amused through his wire rimmed glasses. “They’re busy.”
“So am I!” You attempted, voice cracking.
“You owe me approximately…” he turned back to his desk, rifling through the mess there until he produced what looked to be your timesheet. You bit back a swear. “…five hours this week. And that’s not including the forty minutes you were late this morning, so, I think we can compromise on you doing the late and keeping your job, alright?”
You didn’t say anything, just turning back on your chair to slump down to Robin’s level, arms folded and eyes stormy. The girl knocked your ankle with her own, mouthing another apology across the table, and if it weren’t for the fact she’d been trying to work up the courage to ask Nancy out for months now, you would’ve definitely have done something childish, like knock her pasta off the table.
But you didn’t. You were fine. It was fine.
“Make sure you lock up properly when you leave,” Murray reminded you unnecessarily, ‘cause that was Argyle’s bad habit, not yours. “And play nice with Steven - but not too nice.” He ruffled your hair as he passed, already leaving for the day despite the fact there was four hours left of opening. “There’s cameras everywhere, and some of them actually work. We don’t gotta see that, and I got out of the porn business years ago.”
Silence settled over the staff room as he slammed the door behind him, his last comment making Robin firmly push her lunch away. You blinked and stared at her, both of you thinking too much.
“Is he… was that a joke?” She asked, hesitant to know the answer.
“I have no idea.”
—————
Steve arrived as the last of the staff left, coming from his day off to spend the next six hours with you in the dark arcade, waiting for a team of greasy haired men to push some buttons on each machine, wiggle a joystick or two and then demand a couple of hundred dollars for their effort.
It was unnerving to see the boy in normal clothes, no real need for his staff shirt or name badge. His white t-shirt made him look even more tanned, sunkissed from the afternoons spent by his pool, the cotton lit up ultraviolet under the arcade lights.
“What time are they comin’?” He asked in lieu of greeting, heaving himself up to sit on the desk, narrowly avoiding the bag of chips you’d been snacking on.
You huffed, an annoyed sound that the boy was so used to, snatching your chips away before he could crush them further. You shrugged, moving away from Steve, eager to put some distance between you and him, ‘cause he smelled too damn nice.
Like sunscreen and summer, leftover chlorine and a cologne that was probably more than his last paycheck. It was annoyingly distracting.
“Don’t know, Murray said anytime between seven and ten.” You were already tired, draping yourself over the counter, used ticket stubs sticking to your arms. “This fucking sucks.”
“Didn’t you miss me?” Steve grinned, spinning on the desk to face you, his legs crossed in front of him as he leaned forward, taunting. He was good at giving you the eye, that gaze he gave all the girls, thick lashes fluttering, honey brown stare all soft and warm.
Too bad it didn’t work on you.
“No. But I’m glad to see you managed to pick up a sense of humour as well as an STD by the pool today.”
Steve laughed, unperturbed by your vicious comment. It hurt less when you smiled at him like that, all pretty and pleased with yourself, smug about it. “You’re particularly catty today, princess. Still not managed to reclaim a Dig Dug victory?”
“Fuck off.”
Steve grinned. Riling you up was his favourite thing to do. But all too soon, you were pushing yourself away from the desk, chips forgotten about, and rounding the counter. You sighed, looking around the empty arcade as if doing anything was better than talking to him.
“I’m gonna refill the ticket machines,” you declared, not looking at him when you spoke. “Murray said you need to clean the popcorn machine, so, Godspeed.”
Steve blanked, staring at you as you walked away, bare legs lit up in pinks and blues under the lights, your shorts a constant distraction for him. He hated them. “Wait, what? The popcorn machine hasn’t worked in fucking years.”
“Not my problem!” You waved him off before turning the corner, disappearing behind the chunky machines that had stood since the beginning of the seventies. “Have fun, Harrington.”
Steve let the service men in an hour later, the silence that had fallen over the arcade interrupted by mechanical beeping and the switching on and off of each machine. He hadn’t seen you since he’d first arrived and the fact that he’d only managed to get one rise out of you was severely disappointing. So he searched through the large room, navigating the rows of games in a way he knew all too well, each screen flashing invitingly, the promise of a new adventure stuck behind each one.
He knew where to find you, it wasn’t all that hard. But he still stopped to watch from afar as you bashed the buttons on the Dig Dug machine, swearing softly to yourself when the game didn’t do what you wanted. It beeped angrily, the screen flashed and a patronising ‘game over’ sign flooded the black background.
“You’re doing it wrong,” he called out, too happily.
You spun, scowling at the sound of his voice, his cheery negativity, his wide smirk. A sound of dismissal left your throat, annoyance clear on your face, but you couldn’t resist the bait. “There’s like, three buttons and I only need to use one of them,” you snapped, “how can I be doing it wrong?”
Steve joined you at the machine, leaning on the side of the bulky game, lit up by the flashing neon lights that hung above it. He was six different shades of yellow and orange, all golds and ambers and peaches across tanned skin and brown eyes. He was smug looking, eyes flickering from yours down to your fingers that were prodding at the button, bashing it furiously as you tried to blow up the Fygar’s that were in your way. The game beeped again, angry, and you were back to the main menu.
Steve’s name flashed obnoxiously from the top of the leaderboard, the number one beside it, setting your teeth on edge. You pushed another coin into the slot, took a deep breath and tried to ignore the boy beside you.
Steve only managed another minute or two of polite silence before he was sighing. “Jesus, look, like this, yeah?” His hand covered your own, the one hovering over the button and you froze, staring at him from the side of your eyes. “It’s about timing, not how hard you can mash the button into the board.”
You knew how to play. You were number one last week, you weren’t a novice, Dig Dug was your favourite game. You should’ve shaken him off, snarled something mean about men thinking they always knew best but you were frozen, still staring, looking at the boy like a deer trapped in headlights.
Steve pressed his fingers over yours as the game restarted, the tinny, electronic music beginning all over again. He was methodical about it, pressing the shooter only when the enemies got close enough, a vast difference to the way you manically shot on sight. But he frowned when he realised you weren’t moving at all, the joystick frozen in your other hand.
“C’mon, you’re not exactly helping,” he complained moodily. “S’wrong? Scared I’m trying to seduce you or somethin’?”
You scowled at that, shifting under Steve’s touch, glaring at him from where he still stood beside the machine; one, warm, wide hand still covering yours. His fingers were so much bigger than your own, swallowing your own against the buttons.
“As if you could,” you were quick to shoot back, but you ducked your chin, glaring at the screen through your lashes. “More concerned about where your hands have been.”
You heard him huff out a laugh, a breath through the smirk that seemed to always be on his lips when he was around you. He pressed your fingers down again when you tilted the joystick, successfully blowing up three of the little pixelated enemies on screen.
“Now, now, princess,” Steve’s voice was low, smooth. You hated it. “Don’t act like you weren’t letting Carver drape himself over you last Wednesday.”
You wrinkled your nose at the memory, not liking Jason Carver any more than you did Steve, but at least the latter didn’t invade your personal space like Jason did. The blonde boy seemed to think his old letterman jacket was a one way pass into a girl's pants, no matter how long it had been since high school had ended.
You had absolutely no interest in Jason, you never had and you told him as such on the daily. But it was still fun to say, “you sound jealous, Steven.” You smirked the same as him, letting your gaze slide to him from the side of your eye, watching as he frowned, cheeks rosier than normal in the arcade lights.
“Don’t flatter yourself, sweetheart,” he bit back, eyes focused on the screen, his fingers jabbing over yours a little harder than before. “You’re not my type.”
It shouldn’t have cut you as much as it did, a cheap jab, wrapped in barbed wire but it stung all the same. You sneered, a nasty thing, shrugging Steve off, his hand moving from yours and leaving it cold. You pressed the button alone, blowing up the pixels until there were none left and the level cleared. The screen flashed with a new high score and you tilted the joystick with more force than necessary as you typed out your initials.
Your name took first place on the leader board, knocking STEVE H. to the number two spot. The boy didn’t say anything as you walked away, his eyes on your bare legs, as usual, the taste of regret sitting heavy on his tongue.

You sigh, crossing your arms as you lean back in your chair.
“Do you really want my honest opinion?”
His eyes are a cautious hopeful as he bites his bottom lip. “…Yes?”
“Jake, this is shit.”
He groans, sliding down in his chair. “I know.”
The two of you sit in silence for a moment as you both look at the paper, contemplating how to not make it shit.
“Hey, do you uh, do you wanna-”
Jake never finishes his sentence as the door to the Center opens, Bradley popping his head in. “Hey, you done?”
You miss the sour look that settles on Jake’s face at the sight of him as your eyes flicker over the clock. “Another half an hour?”
He groans, stumbling into the room. “I’m stealing candy then.”
You shake your head, a smile growing on your face. “Go right ahead.”
“Dude, Seresin, you practically live here.” Bradley says through a mouthful of M&Ms. You roll your eyes at the words, despite the nugget of truth in them.
Over the course of the last few weeks, Jake had spent more time in the Center than not, bringing multiple drafts of any and every assignment to you. It’d gotten to the point that if any of Jake’s buddies from the football team needed him, they’d come looking for him in the Center before they checked the field.
“Shut up Bradshaw.” Jake says, eyes trained on his computer.
Bradley shrugs. “Just saying. Do you want to come over for dinner on Sunday? Mom’s asking about you.”
It takes you a minute to realize Bradley is talking to you and you glance over at him. “Yeah, I guess. Jake, you can not cite Wikipedia.”
He groans again. “It was the only thing I could find!”
“This is our mid-term Jake. This is important.”
-
“Are you really doing homework on a Sunday?” Nick says, coming into the kitchen, arms full of groceries.
“This thesis isn’t going to finish itself, unfortunately.” You mutter, deleting a sentence on the screen. Bradley picks up one of the articles you have laid out on the Bradshaw’s kitchen island, squinting at the title.
“What does that even mean?”
“I don’t know.” You groan, dropping your pen to press the heels of your palms into your eyes. “I don’t know and I think Jeff is trying to kill me.”
“You know what would make you feel better?”
“What?”
He lets out a little laugh, trying to contain his teasing grin. “Making out with your new football buddy.”
You narrow your eyes, taking the article out of his hands. “Would you cut that shit out? Jake doesn’t like me like that. I’m just his tutor.”
Bradley scoffs. “Yeah, sure, okay.”
“I’m being serious!”
“So am I!” Bradley protests. “Seresin has like… the fattest crush on you.”
“Shut up, Bradshaw.” You mutter, turning your eyes back to the computer.
Tom lets out a throaty laugh, prompting you to raise your head to catch Pete’s pained look.
“Something you’d like to share with the class, Pete?” Carole teases.
He gives a jerky shake of his head. “Nope. Nothing. I know nothing.”
The adults let out a round of laughter as Bradley pulls out the chair next to you, collecting some of your articles.
“I saw your Mom at the store with Dad.”
You pause, the cursor on the screen blinking back at you. His words are soft, unable to be heard by the adults who have since moved on in the conversation.
“Apparently, she’s got a boyfriend.” He mutters.
“Good for her.”
“When’s the last time you talked to her?”
You give a shrug of your shoulders. “Don’t remember honestly.”
He sighs. “Maybe it’s for the best. She didn’t have anything nice to say.”
“She never does.”
-
Jake sighs three separate times before Javy shuts the lid of his laptop, a bit aggressively.
“Alright, I’ll bite. What is up?”
“I fucking hate that guy.” Jake says with a shake of his head, looking back down at his statistics notebook.
“Who?”
“Stupid curly hair. Stupid charming smile. Stupid baseball player.”
“Who, Jacob? Who?”
“You know Bradley Bradshaw?”
Javy raises his eyebrow, unimpressed. “‘Course I know Brad, he’s one of Nat’s best friends.”
“Yeah, well he’s a fucking asshole and I hate him.”
“What the hell did he ever do to you?”
Jake can’t bring himself to say anything, scribbling angrily in the margins of his notebook. Unfortunately, his best friend knows him too well.
“This wouldn’t have anything to do with your pretty tutor you seem to be spending a lot of time with lately… would it?”
He can hear the smirk in Javy’s voice, even without looking at the boy.
“Fuck off, Machado.” He says with a groan, leaning back in the booth as he crosses his arms. He waits a beat, Javy looking at him expectantly before crumbling. “Can you blame me Javy? He fucking picks her up after all her shifts, has Sunday dinners with her… I fucking hate him for getting her before I even had a chance.”
“They’re not… they’re not dating, you know that right?”
Jake snorts. “Save my pride Javy.”
“No, no I’m serious, they aren’t.” He says with a shake of his head. “She lives next door to Bradley. Nat said they went to high school together and grew up across the street from him or something. That’s why she goes over there sometimes.”
“Huh.”
He’s incapable of saying anything else, mentally reviewing all the interactions he’s seen you have with Bradshaw. They’d never been more than platonic, but he would admit that Bradshaw already pissed him off enough as it was and his jealosuy flared whenever you were around him.
“You should just ask her out on a date man, you clearly have a thing for her.” Javy says, shaking his head as he types out numbers into his calculator.
“I can’t do that.” He says with such certainty Javy has to pause and take a deep breath through his nose.
“And why not?”
“Because there’s no way in hell she’d say yes.”
Javy lets out a chuckle, looking up at him. “You’ve never had any problems before now.”
“This is different.” Jake hisses. “She’s really kind, and sweet, and smart, and I- she’s so far out of my league.”
Javy rolls his eyes. “Suit yourself Seresin. But don’t come moaning and moping to me about it. You dug this hole for yourself..” The words carry no real weight, both knopwing Javy would always listen. “What did you get for number 8?”
-
“Thought you’d be on a beach somewhere.”
You look up, catching sight of Jake. “Hey.”
“What’re you doing in the library over fall break? Shouldn’t you be somewhere tropical with your phone turned off?”
“I have Pete’s paper I have to finish. He gave me an extension and I’m pushing my extension deadline as it stands.”
Jake raised an eyebrow. “You aren’t done?”
You shake your head. “Almost though. I just have to proofread it and then submit it. Why are you here?”
“Have to return a book I used for our mid-term. Plus, I was already here for an extra weight lifting session, so thought I’d come by.”
It’s the first time you take a minute to recognize what Jake is wearing. He’s a bit sweaty, muscle tank damp.
Even then, you can help but eye the way his biceps look, imagining the way he must’ve looked while-
No.
You shake your head, clearing the thought as you meet his eye again.
“Well, it was good to see you Jake.” You say with a quick smile, looking back to your computer.
It was beyond inappropriate to think of someone you tutored like that. Absolutely not.
“Hey, uh…”
You look back up to him, watching him fiddle with his gym bag.
“Do you have any plans for the rest of break?”
You shake your head. “No. I’m technically not working but if there’s something you need me to look at, I’m ha-”
“No!” Jake protests quickly. “No, no, no. No, I was going to uh- ask if you wanted to do something.”
You blink at him. “Yeah, sure I guess I’m free. What do you have in mind?”
He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. “I, uh, well I kinda need a pumpkin for this carving thing the team is doing. Would you, uh, want to come with me?”
“You… you want me to go to a pumpkin patch with you?”
“Yeah.”
“I mean… yeah okay.” You say a little dumbfounded.
You weren’t a fool, you knew Jake was attractive. You’d be blind not see it.
But you knew that you weren’t the girl Jake would be with. You knew it in the raised eyebrows in silent question his teams mates gave him when he said hi to you in the dining hall, knew it in the smirks girls in your History class would give you when Jake started sitting with you.
You might be Jake’s tutor, and dare you even say friend, but you knew one thing to be true.
You’d never be Jake’s girl.
The smile Jake offers you, though, is worth a weeks worth of dirty looks and snide sneers.
“Great! How does tonight sound? I found a patch about 45 minutes away, has some cute fall stuff we could do if you wanted? I’ll drive.”
“I- yeah.”
You wanted to cringe at the sound of spending hours alone in a pumpkin patch, doing fall activities that you always thought you’d do on a date with someone.
It hurts in the worst way, feeling like you’re watching a life you could’ve had, had you been someone else.
“See you at 6 then, kid.”
-
You shut the door of Jake’s truck behind you as you both step out on to the farm about half an hour outside of San Diego. The evening air is much cooler than it is in the city, offering a bit of a bite as you wrap your coat around you tighter.
“Where’d you find this place Jake?” You ask as you take in the cozy environment, the corn maze not too far away, the the apple bobbing and hay rides that are consumed by giggling children.
“Bradshaw’s Mom told me about it. Apparently, they’ve been coming out here since he was a kid.”
You nod as Jake rounds the truck, stopping next to you. You’re sure Carole has shown you pictures of baby Bradley, rosy cheesks as Nick stands there, both with grins so wide.
The pictures had made your heart ache in the way hearing Carole or Nick talk about Bradley’s childhood always had.
There was so much love and laughter you’d missed out on, so much you never got to have, something you longed for.
Relationships you knew you’d never have with your own parents.
Jake clearing his throat breaks you from your musing, bringing you back to the present.
“So, what should we do first?”
-
“I don’t think your pumpkin is big enough.” You say, a giggle laced through your words as the two of you walk (well, really, Jake is more waddling) to sit down. He heaves a sigh as she sets the rather large pumpkin on the hay.
“I want to win.” He says with a sigh, draping hismelf over the hay bales.
“What do you win?” You ask, sitting down next to him.
He opens his eyes, but doesn’t say anything, just watches you.
“Jake?” He hums, not tearing his eyes away from you. “What do you get if you win?”
He shrugs. “Nothing too crazy, I hope. Reuben is organizing the whole thing which just makes me more concerned for the losers.”
“Well, what would you want as a prize?”
He swallows, eyes gleaming. “Well, I could think of a few things.”
You raise an eyebrow, feeling your cheeks go warm as you realise just how close Jake is to you.
“I-”
“Seresin!” Someone hollers, causing both you and Jake to turn.
There’s a few boys standing a bit away, all grinning. And then there’s Bob, one of Natasha’s friends you’ve gotten to know through Bradley.
Bob serves as an athletic manager for the football team, maybe against his better judgement, given the exasperated look in his eyes as the boys make their way over to where you’re sat with Jake.
“What’re you doing here, Seresin?” One of the boys asks.
“Getting a pumpkin for our carving party?” Another inquires.
Jake coughs, looking over at his pumpkin. “Yeah. Um Kenny, Chad, this is-”
“Shit, are you on a date dude?” Chad asks, eyes growing wide.
“No-” Jake amends, a bit too quickly, but Chad keeps talking.
“Sorry, sorry didn’t mean to interrupt. Don’t let us stop you from letting you hit it-”
Bob cringes as you close your eyes, cheeks aflame in embarrassment. “Actually, we were jst leaving.” You say abruptly, standing up from the hay. “I’ll meet you back at the truck, okay?”
“Wait-” Jake protests as Kenny offers up a botched apology, chuckling his way through the statement.
You reach up, rubbing at your face to make the tingly feeling go away as you blink back hot tears.
You knew this would happen.
-
You adjust your dress nervously as you ring the doorbell, pack of White Claws in your hand.
You didn’t even like White Claws but what is one expected to show up to a party with? Nothing?
You aren’t sure if the noise of the doorbell has been heard over the music that’s so loud you can feel it through the porch and are about to ring it again (or maybe give up and hide in your car) when the door opens.
It’s Jake.
He gives you a blinding smile, ushering you in the house. “You came!” He shouts over the noise.
You nod, eyes flitting over his costume as your hands become sweaty. “Yeah, I- I uh brought this. Wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to show up empty handed.”
He smiles again, taking the box from you. “Nice. Nice costume, by the way.” He winks, disappearing into the crowd as you stand there like a deer in headlights.
There’s a warmth spreading through your cheeks that has nothing to do with the seltzer you’d chugged in your car before ringing Jake’s doorbell.
You spot your friend Maria in a corner, refilling her drink and you begin to push your way through the crowd, each dressed up in a different costume, each wearing less clothes than the last.
You feel more overdressed than you have in your life and that’s saying something considering how short this dress really is.
You tug on her arm, catching her attention as she smiles. “Hey-”
“Give me this.” You say, taking the drink out of her hand. “I need to get drunk.”
“What-”
“Jake dressed up as Peter Pan. Maria, what the hell is in this? It smells like gasoline.” You say as you shove the drink back in her hand. She peers in it, blinking like she’s not really sure what was in it either.
“You wouldn’t have liked it anyways.” She says, before a ghost of a smile appears on her face. “So you and Jake, huh?”
“Shut up.” You mumble, cheeks going red. “I didn’t mean to. Wendy Darling was what I threw together at the last minute.”
Jake had texted you at 3:08pm, asking if you were doing anything tonight.
And you had said no, like a smitten dumbass.
So here you were, against the protest of your judgement and pile of homework, in a skimpy dress in half-assed attempt at Wendy Darling, in the hopes that Jake might notice you.
A pipe dream, really. Especially given the fact you and Jake hadn't really talked since that night at the pumpkin patch over fall break.
“Maria!” You hear Bradley’s voice over the music and you turn just in time to see Bradley squeeze his way through the group of people. “You said you were gonna come play beer pong twenty minutes ago.” She nods, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“I know, I know. Got distracted talking to this one.” She points to you and Bradley blinks, looking down at you. It looks like this is the first time he’s realised you’re there, which given how inebriated the boy seems to be, might actually be true.
“Let’s go play!” He shouts with a nod of his head towards the backyard, and with that him and Maria are gone. You glance around, biting your lip as nerves begin to grow in your stomach. There’s no sign of Jake, or really anyone else you might know.
You feel yourself back up further and further into the corner, biting on your fingernails as your eyes flit nervously through the room, wondering what you should do.
Just as you’re wondering if you should leave (and drive away and never come back) a warm hand lands on your shoulder. You jump in surprise, looking up to see Jake towering over you.
“Hey, what’re you doing over here all alone?”
You shrug.
“Well, why don’t you come play some beer pong with me out in the back?”
You give another shrug. “I’ve never played, I doubt I’d be any good.”
He gives you a grin, leaning closer to you. “Well, then you’ll be my good luck charm.”
The sounds of Monster Mash follow you out to the backyard as Jake begins to explain the rules of beer pong to you.
“-and I know you don’t drink a whole ton, so I’ll drink if you’ll throw?”
You startle at Jake’s words. “How did you-”
“Bradshaw!” Jake shouts, clapping the brunette on the shoulders, startling him and botching his throw.
“2 v 2 after this?”
Bradley’s eyes flicker over to you, a grin growing on his face. “On one condition.”
Jake quirks an eyebrow. “Yeah?”
“Loser has to kiss their partner.”
Your eyes grow wide at Bradley’s words, wanting to reach around Jake and throttle him.
Jake titls his head as Reuben sets up the table again. “You’re on.”
You splutter as Jake tugs you to the other side, a crowd starting to gather around the table. “Jake, the only pong I’ve ever played is of the iMessage kind, I don’t really know how good I’m going to be.”
Jake shrugs. “Yeah, but Bradshaw and Maria are both hammered. I’m counting on their perception being so fuzzy they can’t land a single shot.”
Despite your nerves the whole game, Jake ends up being right, with Bradley and Maria only landing three shots the whole game.
Still, you can’t help the way your stomach flutters in disappointment at the fact that you don’t get to kiss Jake, although you’d never want it to be under these circumstances, where he has to kiss you because of a bet.
Bradley shakes his head ruefully at you before, leaning over pressing a kiss quick peck to Maria’s cheek.
Jake teasingly chastises Bradley that that wasn’t part of their deal as Javy takes your place in the pairing, Natasha replacing Maria.
You get through another round, Mickey taking over Jake’s spot next before you’ve decided enough is enough, and it really had nothing at all to do with Chad’s appearance in the backyard.
“I think I’m gonna go.”
Jake’s head shoots over to you as you lean over, getting closer to his ear so he can hear you over the music.
“Yeah?” He asks.
You nod. “Yeah, I’ve still got homework I need to finish. Thanks for inviting me though.”
He smiles at you softly. “‘Course, I’m glad you came, I know this isn’t exactly your scene.”
“That’s what she said.” Javy coughs into his fist as he walks past.
Jake rolls his eyes. “Ignore him, he’s an idiot. Text me when you get home, okay?”
You nod, ignoring the warmth spreading through you at his words.
-
(1:13am- Did you make it home okay? I never heard from you.
Your heart jumps up into your throat as you peer at the text, unable to stop the smile that’s spreading across your face.
Yeah, I did. Thanks for checking
The bubble pops up a few times before a new text appears.
Good to hear.
Get some sleep.
Goodnight.)
- You squint at the brunette over the top of your laptop, trying to process the words that just came out of his mouth.
“I am not asking Jake out.”
He groan, slumping down on the table in front of you. “Why not?” He whines, causing you to wrinkle your nose.
“Becuase? It’s Jake? He’s a super popular football player who’s not going to be interested in dating his tutor? Get off this, please. You’re starting to piss me off.”
Bradley studies you for a minute before he heaves a sigh. “Fine.” There’s quiet for a minutes as you turn back to your reading before Bradley speaks again. “Are you going to your Mom’s for Thanksgiving?”
You shake your head. “No, she’s driving up north to go see my Grandma with my brother and my sister is spending the holiday at my Dad’s.”
“So… do you wanna come over?”
“For Thanksgiving? Sure.” You say with a shrug.
Bradley smiles. “Wonderful, I’ll text Mom and tell her right now.” He says, fishing his phone out of his pocket. “You know who else is coming to Thanksgiving?”
“I’d drop it if I were you Bradshaw.”
-
“This is great as always Mrs. Bradshaw.” Natasha says warmly as Jake nudges you. You look up at him from where you’re cutting a piece of apple pie, Nick setting a scoop of ice cream on your plate, Jake nodding his head out to the backyard.
“Let’s go sit.” You nod, grabbing the plate as Jake leads the two of you to sit outside.
It’s still warm enough to dip your feet in the pool as the two of you sit near the edge, Jake having to roll up his jeans.
“I’ll never get over Bradshaw having a pool.”
You let out a little laugh, pulling the fork from your mouth. “You’re telling me. That was always the status symbol of wealth growing up. What?” You ask, realizing Jake hasn’t started to eat his pumpkin pie but is simply just watching you.
“You look really nice today.” You feel a blush crawl up your neck as you glance down at your outfit.
“Thanks.” You say, picking up your plate to eat, unable to meet Jake’s eye.
It’s quiet between the two of you for a little while, the silence comfortable as you eat your slices of pie.
“You know, Bradley keeps telling me the funniest thing.” You say as you finish the last of the pie, setting the plate back down on the ground. Carole really did make a killer apple pie, a wonderful combination of apples and cinnamon, the pastry dough always elevating the dessert.
“What?”
“He keeps telling me… God, it’s so silly.” You say, shaking your head. “He keeps telling me you have a crush on me.”
Jake watches you for a second, and you realise telling Jake this may have been a bad idea, before Jake leans over you, pressing his lips to yours.
It takes a minute for your brain to even realising he’s kissing you, but it’s a minute too long as Jake pulls back, eyes wide.
“I’m- I’m sorry, I just wanted to know what that was like just once.”
You don’t even realize what you’re doing until your doing it, leaning over and returning Jake’s kiss. Jake’s hands are already on your waist to steady you as you cup his cheek, getting to savor the way he tastes of pumpkin pie and the bourbon he had earlier.
Jake cups your cheek as he pulls away, thumb gently rubbing over your cheekbone as he watches you. He’s looking at you in such a way that is making you blush, wanting to duck your head and hide from his gaze.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to do that.” He whispers.
You swallow, already missing the taste of his lips. “Then why are we waiting any longer?”

Pet Au:Are Blake and Adam dating? Has Jaune considered what happens if that relationship goes poorly? What the effects on the team will be?
After Adam/Jaune training session
Jaune: Adam, you and Blake are dating, yeah?
Adam: What of it?
Jaune: Don't you fear if you were to break up, it would be a pain for the next 6 years?
Adam: Sometimes. Though i believe that if our relationship doesn't work out, we will be mature enough to still stay friends. Besides, it's not like anything has really changed between her and i since we began dating.
Jaune: Wait, really?
Adam: She might read literal smut in class, but handholding is the best she can do irl. And barely
Jaune: Are you fine with that?
Adam: I'm a romantic at heart, i don't mind taking my time. I mean, we are still 14, we got time... Besides, i don't want to be killed by Ghira or Kali.
Jaune: ... You live a life full of danger partner.
Adam: *exasperated* i still do not accept you as my partner, you still ain't strong enough. But... i guess for a human, you ain't that bad.
Jaune: ... Thanks?
Adam: I guess you... *Embarassed* I... God, it's harder than everything i had done since it goes against every principal i had.
Jaune: Adam?
Adam: Look, i know i'm a jerk. And i really do find you weak.
Jaune: I'm doing my best.
Adam: But! You are a great guy. I want to be friends with you, if that's fine.
Jaune: ... Wait, we weren't before?
Adam: ... What?
Jaune: You take the time to help me train every night, you don't cuddle me like i'm a weakling... Though the first two weeks were hard.
Adam: *wince* Sorry about that.
Jaune: Nah it's fine. But i understand why you can't accept me as your partner yet. And yeah, i would love being your friend... Speaking of, wanna go do something downtown tomorrow? I heard a new arcade opened like last Sunday. We could bring Ilia and Blake too, though knowing them, they are just going to stay at the library.
Adam: That does sound like them. And yeah, i was kinda in need of a break from school.

I know we’ve only done present day Willy fics and it’s totally okay if it’s not your cup of tea but these hospital pics have me thinking about how soft Willy would be with your kiddos at Christmas! My sibling and I would always make my mum and dad sit, make them paper tickets and serve hot chocolate to them as we watched the Polar Express like we were lil conductors and I can do imagine his lil blonde babies doing the exact same thing and he’s just so soft and excited that you two created such adorable toddlers and they’re at the age where the holiday starts to get really fun🥹
Not my cup of tea? 😍 Darling, that man triggers my desire for a baby even from over 3,500 miles away 🙈 one family Christmas scenario coming up ❤️
[So, let’s envision this scenario taking place in about five years; and also as a way for me to manifest that William stays in Toronto 🙏🏻]
I hope it's alright that I incorporated a bit of your childhood memory because oh my goodness, I wish my brother and I had done that too 😱 It's so sweet! Yet, I've also intertwined it with one of my own most cherished memories; and I hope it somewhat resembles what you had in mind ❤️
・✶ 。゚
Have yourself a merry little Christmas...
Tumblr media
“Mooom, Daaaaad!” a kid's voice rang out through the condo. "Wake up!"
You stirred slightly as the young boy's shouts slowly roused you from sleep.
“Hey, your son's awake,” you murmured softly with a gentle grin, nudging the man lying next to you. But he simply grunted deeply, still facing the other way and buried in the pillow.
“Mom! Dad!”
"Ugh," he let out another deep, sleepy groan. “I'm sleeping, so he's all yours…”
You blinked your eyes open, chuckling lightly at William's unshakeable sleepiness. Leaning over, you planted a soft kiss on his neck.
“Looks like our boys need us, love,” you tried to rouse him, but only deep, rumbling sounds came from the large man.
So, with another light chuckle, you rolled over, got up, and dressed in your most comfortable loungewear before heading to the kitchen.
“Wow, what's happened here?” you exclaimed with a big smile as you entered the kitchen/dining area.
"We made you breakfast, Mum!" exclaimed Eliot with so much pride. "Look! It's our favourites: chocolate crunch and oats."
It was incredibly heart-warming. Your two sons had woken up earlier than you and your husband, William Nylander, on this December Sunday morning, when William didn't have any training or a match in the evening.
"We did it almost like you do," Lucas chimed in, also brimming with excitement, and you had to fight back the urge to get teary-eyed.
On the large mahogany dining table, draped with a red Christmas cloth, the boys had raided nearly every cupboard in the kitchen - biscuits, bread, oats, chocolate crumbles, Nutella, jam - then continued to raide the fridge for butter, milk, and other breakfast essentials. They'd even set out plates, cutlery, glasses, and mugs, just like you typically did on family mornings.
And you could see they'd attempted to make coffee but had given up halfway through. Not that it mattered; their effort alone was enough to melt your heart.
"Oh, boys! This is so wonderful - I can't believe you've done all of this," you said, pulling the two young ones into a tight hug, embracing them both.
"Come on, Mum!" protested Eliot, eager to continue with his morning plans.
"Right, why don't you both go and give dad a surprise jump? I'll wrap things up here," you proposed with a wide smile, prompting them to dash into the bedroom and wake up William.
As you brewed the coffee they had attempted to make, you couldn't help but feel a rush of joy thinking about your amazing family. And taking advantage of the moment, you decided to whip up some scrambled eggs, a dish you knew they all loved.
**
Elliot, nearly six years old, was your eldest. He was a spitting image of William, from his blond hair and blue eyes to his well-defined nose and build. His laughter echoed that of your husband's, and that mischievous grin appeared to be a direct copy paste of his. Even William's love for food seemed to have been passed on to Elliot.
Eliot had also been a little unexpected. Sure, you and William knew what could happen when you’d have sex without any form of protection, but you hadn’t expected for anything to happen so quickly.
The idea of having children had been a topic in your relationship for some time back then, and after being together for almost three years, both of you felt it was a good time to start trying. While you had always considered children as an option, you weren't always certain about William's stance on parenting. Coming from a large family, he was naturally surrounded by discussions about children at family gatherings, yet given his boyish and charming nature, you weren't sure if he truly saw himself in a parental role.
However, something changed after a round of playoffs, where the Leafs nearly clinched victory in the second round. William had observed the many families within his team, witnessing how family members lifted the spirits of his teammates after the loss. He noticed the pure joy that radiated from them upon seeing their children, and just like that something had sparked within him.
Although your captivating smile and laughter were undeniably the most wonderful things for him, something deeper started to stir within the forward. A small urge to see you carrying his child emerged, along with a vision of the two of you with little versions of yourselves.
Consequently, during the following off-season, William brought up the topic, and you eagerly agreed to slowly start trying. However, it seemed that his strong genes and highly active sperm weren't interested in taking things slow, as by the beginning of the new season, you announced your very first pregnancy.
And then there's Lucas. He's more of a mommy's boy, incredibly sweet and almost innocent, always eager to lend a hand. And despite having just turned three, he showed a remarkable level of maturity for his age.
Elliot was undoubtedly his favourite role model, besides William, of course. However, he had his own unique qualities that set him apart from your other boys, although hockey remained a common passion among all of them. Whether it was watching daddy train or play at the rink, engaging in mini stick games, or watching a match at home, they were deeply involved whenever the sport was involved.
Yet, Lucas also harboured a love for drawing and enjoyed assisting you with cooking. He relished being around when you were cleaning and was content entertaining himself if you were occupied with something else.
In general, both boys were remarkable. Despite the typical sleep disruptions from cries and illnesses, they were relatively hassle-free. Right from their infancy, they seemed to inherit William's talent for sleeping and your family's collective love for food.
And you wholeheartedly loved cooking for your boys. They appreciated everything you made and devoured meals as if there was no tomorrow. Except on Mother's Day, when, if possible, William would take charge of the kitchen to prepare something special or opt for takeout. But the important thing was, you weren't the one cooking.
And neither were you this morning.
Eliot had expertly guided his younger brother in setting the table like he remembered you always did, along with their homemade Christmas decorations. It was nothing short of perfection.
**
"Mommy, daddy's finally here!" Lucas hollered as the two boys practically dragged William out of the bedroom and towards the table.
"Took you long enough," you chuckled lightly, earning a soft smile from your man, dressed in his comfortable blue and white checkered pyjamas and a loose white t-shirt. His hair was a tousled mess, resembling a lion's mane, and his eyes betrayed the lingering tiredness. To be fair, he'd arrived home late last night due to an away game, and today you were just grateful that there were no hockey commitments. Today was all about cosying up together as a family and truly celebrating Christmas.
William, naturally, leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on your lips.
"Morning, babe," he greeted with a drowsy smile.
The four of you then settled into your usual spots: you across from William, with Eliot beside him and Lucas seated next to you.
"Now, what do we say?" You grinned at your sons.
"God aptit!" the two boys chimed simultaneously, before you all delved into the delicious bread and whatever else the boys had discovered in the kitchen cupboards.
It was a simple yet delightful meal.
William's face also lit up as he savoured the food his sons had prepared, and his sleepiness seemed to fade away as Eliot started chatting away, as he always did.
And as you all neared the end of the first course of the day, Eliot suddenly brimmed with excitement.
"Wait, there's more!"
"More? How can there be more, darling?" you chuckled, exchanging glances with William, both intrigued by the young boys' behaviour.
"Come on, Luke," the eldest instructed, leading them hand in hand towards Eliot's room. And when they returned, they held something behind their backs, sporting mischievous grins across their small faces.
You and William couldn't help but smile as you watched your sons beam with joy. They took deep breaths, almost acting shy, and the anticipation in the air was palpable.
"We've made you something..."
"I helped Eliot!" Lucas nearly shouted.
"And what's that?" William laughed, encouraging the boys to come closer to each of you and unveil the little piece of paper they held in their tiny hands.
"You've made these?" You smiled, seeing their excitement as they nodded in affirmation.
"We made them in kindergarten," Eliot explained.
The tiny piece of paper was covered in glitter, with the letters T E K K E T written somewhat crookedly in what seemed to be a child's handwriting.
"Baby, did you write this?" You asked, slightly surprised that your five-year-old had been practicing his writing.
"Yes, Miss Turner helped us spell."
"That's amazing, Eliot. I'm so proud of you," you beamed.
William's reaction mirrored yours in heartfelt pride.
"But then the big question is... what are tickets for?" he inquired curiously, prompting the boys to exchange quick glances before looking back at you and your husband.
"It's for the fort!" Lucas exclaimed with excitement.
"Oh, so you've built a fort?" you asked with a light chuckle, noticing no fort in the living room.
"Well..." Eliot hesitated for a moment as if trying to articulate his idea. "We thought that we can build it – together," he suddenly blurted out, throwing his arms in the air. "For when we watch the Christmas movies."
It was a tradition you had established in your family. Whenever you had a family day together in December, watching Christmas movies was a must. Well, the tradition might have expanded to other days outside the holiday season, but it all began here.
"Well, I'm sure daddy would love to build the fort with you then," you grinned at William, who chuckled and nodded in agreement.
"No, Mum, you need to help too," Lucas insisted.
"How about you strong boys build the greatest fort ever seen – and then I'll cook up some delicious snacks for when we snuggle up? How does that sound?"
"YEAH!" the boys exclaimed before darting off to gather pillows and blankets to throw onto the sofa.
"They're all yours," you smiled at William, knowing he was the ultimate fort builder in the household.
And soon, the condo resonated with cheers. You put on some Christmas tunes while clearing the table, and the boys began their creative fort construction.
Meanwhile, you started gathering an assortment of snacks from your kitchen. Considering William's diverse eating habits – especially his penchant for candies brought back from Sweden – you prepared a snack board comprising various Canadian candies, the best Swedish treats, alongside nuts, fruits, and, of course, popcorn to mix things up a bit.
Christmas ambience filled the air of your home, creating a perfect day brimming with laughter and joy. And after a while, you once again heard the boys' excited shouts.
"We're done!" Eliot's voice echoed from the living room area. Looking up, you saw the little boys, along with their dad, had fashioned a beautiful architectural marvel from an assortment of pillows, blankets, duvets, and whatever else they could find.
"Wow, I can't wait to use my ticket to see how it looks on the inside," you exclaimed joyfully, joining the guys by the sofa as you carried the snack board.
"Looks like you've been quite creative yourself," William chuckled, admiring the variety of foods before pulling you in for a tender kiss.
"Ew..." Eliot teased, before the boys eagerly snuggled in under the tent made from a large bedsheet serving as the roof.
With laughter, you and William then presented your "tickets" to the boys to enter the fort along with the two family dogs. You couldn't help but praise the cosy space they'd created. They'd even taken some of your decorative fake candle lights and placed them inside.
And then, firstly, you began playing the timeless classic...
"The Polar Express" was naturally the first film to watch. The boys adored it, and truth be told, so did you and William.
After several much-needed bathroom breaks, the boys selected the next movie: William's favourite, "The Grinch."
Though it might have been slightly more serious than what you'd typically show boys their age, you caved in because of their genuine love for it.
By the end of the second film, you had all snuggled up entirely, slowly dozing off for a nap. And so, you did.
What felt like a brief moment later, you suddenly awoke and nudged William, prompting the boys to gradually return to reality.
"Hey, boys, let's step out and have a quick round of real food," you softly suggested.
"But I'm not hungry," Eliot whined.
"I know, sweetheart, but you need real food in your tummy after all those snacks," you chuckled lightly.
"Alright."
Once everyone had finished a plate of leftovers, you were back in the fort with mugs filled with hot chocolate.
"Alright, what movie now?" William asked, ready for the next choice.
"When are we going to watch hockey?" Eliot asked, hopeful.
"Nope, no hockey today, Eliot - mom's orders," William chuckled, aware he had to disappoint his son, which made Eliot pout.
"But Uncle Alex is playing today," the boy whined, casting his best puppy-dog eyes towards you, knowing you might sway.
"Alright," you sighed softly. "But I believe we can manage one more movie before Uncle's match, huh?" you suggested, earning excited nods from the family.
And soon, everyone was engrossed in the following film, “Home Alone”, as William held you closely, speaking softly into your ear.
"I didn't think we could watch hockey today," he playfully remarked.
"Well, with all these snacks we've had today, I'm sure these boys won't even be awake for puck drop," you cheekily responded, turning your head slightly to meet your wonderful husband's eyes.
"Sneaky," he chuckled, before planting a kiss on your lips, pulling you a bit closer before easing back. "You're such an incredible mom, you know that, right?" He spoke softly, lightly stroking your chin with his thumb.
"And you're an incredible father," you timidly whispered. But William shook his head gently.
"I haven't even done half of what you've done with these boys - the way you're always there for them, handling every situation when I'm not around..."
You could tell this was something that often weighed on William's mind. But you also both knew this was the lifestyle you had chosen. He was the professional hockey player with season-long road trips, while you dedicated yourself to your family when not at work.
"And I've cherished every single minute of it... Sure, it's been tough. And, of course, I prefer it when you're home with us. But Willy... you're an amazing dad. You're always there for the boys - never doubt that" you reassured him, sensing a slight relaxation in his muscles in response to your words.
And so, with another sweet and tender kiss shared, you both returned to the movie, enjoying the warmth of your family time together.
As predicted, your two sons were fast asleep by the time the credits rolled across the screen. So, you and William then switched the TV to the local sports channel to catch Alex playing tonight's home match.
Despite dedicating the day to a Christmas-filled family time, you also held a soft spot for the sport, and naturally, you wanted to watch your brother-in-law play.
However, during the first period, your attention was swiftly diverted by William, who appeared to have shifted his focus from the game to you.
"What?" you chuckled lightly, catching his gaze.
"Nothing," he replied casually, but you weren't convinced. He had that mischievous look in his eyes that hinted at trouble. "You're just so beautiful."
Ah, he definitely had something on his mind.
Your eyes darted from side to side, noticing his widening grin and his attempts to divert his gaze momentarily towards the boys before returning to you.
"Oh no..." you chuckled again.
"What? No, what?" he innocently protested.
"Don't give me that look."
"What look?"
"You know – last time that happened, something happened," your eyes flickered toward Lucas, sound asleep by your legs, hinting that William's expression meant more than just a naughty thought.
"Well, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing, would it?"
William had always valued family deeply. He adored his own immensely, and even when he was single, although he might not have envisioned having children, secretly, he hoped for it.
Sure, to everyone else, he was the laid-back, confident, cheeky guy with impressive hockey skills. But there were many sides to him, and one of those harboured a longing for a family.
Then, when you entered his life, it suddenly felt like a real possibility. Your mature and caring nature took him by surprise, and he fell harder for you than he ever imagined. So, after spending time in a committed relationship, navigating its highs and lows, the idea of creating a true family became a tangible goal for him.
In a way, he felt like a whole new person, although he didn’t change all that much despite becoming a little bit more mature. But it was all so right to him. You were the one he’d want to have by his side for the rest of his life, so after your first son was born, he’d quickly taken the next stepped and locked you down with a ring on that beautiful finger. Letting the world know you belonged to him.
"You're sure you want to try for another one?" you chuckled, your eyes scanning his face.
"Yeah... baby, I'd want a lot more if I could have it my way," he grinned back.
"Easy for you to say," you teased. "You're not the one carrying them around for nine months before having to squeeze them out of your tiny vagina..."
William couldn't help but find your little outburst amusing, though he knew you were right. You were both in agreement about this, so he understood he couldn't demand too much from you.
"No, you're kind of the expert in that area."
"Hmm..." You pondered his words, snuggling a bit more into his warm body. "Perhaps... we could try for another," you gently smiled. "Maybe we'll even manage to create a girl this time."
"I thought you loved having boys."
"Yeah, well, having now experienced all this testosterone running around all the time, I wouldn't mind a little girlyness as well."
"Hmm... well then I guess we'll just have to practice real hard to make the perfect little baby girl," William nudged into the crook of your neck, placing gentle kisses.
"Oh yeah, I think we'll have to put in some extra work for this one," you softly breathed out, letting his tender touch take over.
And before you knew it, you both agreed on carrying each boy into their respective rooms, tucking them nicely in, before leaving the kitchen and living room in the Christmas mess is was, and spend the evening making love in hope for another member to your little family.

I have another one for you! Hope you enjoy this, thank you to the lovely person who suggested it ❤
What Ruben would be like when you are on your period - headcanon:
-Okay first of all, we all know he is so boyfriend - he would definitely go to the store to buy you tampons or pads if you asked him. Even if it's super late and you forgot that you have run out of them. And he would definitely come back with not only tampons or pads but he would also buy you some of your favourite snacks. Maybe he would even get you a nicely smelling candle or a face mask or something like that, because he knows you love them and he just wants to make you feel better.
- Whenever you have cramps, he would bring you painkillers along with a glass of water. Or he would bring you a hot water bottle to put on your stomach. And after a while he would definitely come back to check on you. He would be like "feeling better angel?".
-And he would for sure cuddle with you when you have cramps. He would put his hand on your stomach, underneath your shirt, and he would gently rub it. And the same thing would happen if you two were going to sleep and you were complaining about your cramps. He would spoon you, his hand immediately going to your bare stomach.
- And whenever you cry during your period (you know how them hormones can be, sigh) he would be so sweet. He would let you cry to him about the most ridiculous things, wouldn't ever tell you to stop overreacting or anything like that. He would just listen and hug you and give you kisses. I can imagine him coming home from training, finding you on the couch crying and he is so concerned, immediately sinks to his knees in front of you and asks you what's wrong. And when you tell him what you are crying about he just takes a seat next to you, holds you in his arms and lets you cry, quietly whispering things like "Shh... I know baby, I know" in your ear.
-And when you are feeling irritated or angry he would be so understanding. He wouldn't take it to heart and then when you try to apologize to him he'd be like "It's okay sweet girl, you have a right to be that way". He would definitely handle all the moodswings.
-And I feel like he would love to make you laugh, when he knows that you are feeling sad or you are just in pain. So maybe he would tell you some funny stories from his training when he gets back home or just random goofy jokes.
-But also I think he wouldn't be too all over you and he would understand that sometimes you just need your space and you just want to lay in bed alone. I think he would just very often ask what he can do for you.
-I feel like knowing that you are on your period makes him want to take care of you even more than he already does on a daily basis. He would maybe cook dinner for you after you had a long day, telling you to go and change into something comfortable. And he would even clean up on his own after you two ate, encouraging you to just rest. He would just want to make things as easy for you as it's possible. And maybe on like a Sunday morning (when you don't necessarily have anywhere to go to, but still have to get some things done), he would tell you to sleep in, while he would get up and take care of things that need to be taken care of.
- You know those days when you're on your period and you just feel super ugly? He's definitely not having any of that and he would keep telling you that you're the prettiest girl he has ever laid his eyes on.
-Okay, let's be honest we are all wondering if Ruben would be up for period sex. And I think he 100% would. He's a grown man, he's not getting grossed out by a little bit of blood. He would just put a towel underneath your hips and tell you not to worry about anything. And if maybe you were a little bit squeamish about it at first he would just fuck you in the shower. But I feel like he would take things rather slow and be very gentle when you are on your period. And for sure a lot of praising. Just him telling you how good you feel, how pretty you look with his cock stuffed inside of you and how well you are taking it. And if you ever got kind of embarrassed after or maybe he notices your red face, or that you were trying to hide your face from him, he would just kiss your temple and reassure you how much he enjoyed what you two just did and that there is no need to ever be emberresed in front of him. But overall, he just wants to make his girl feel good.
Feel free to share your opinions with me! 💕 Sending you all so much love ❤

Jason’s May I remind you, that you’re awake this early too
Y/N My sister decided it was the perfect time to call me Apparently it couldn’t wait until I was awake enough to call her back And now I can’t sleep
Jason Everything okay?
Y/N Define okay?
Jason It’s your dad isn’t it?
Y/N Yeah I don’t know, I don’t want to talk about it
Jason Fair enough
Y/N Now answer my question
Jason Demanding Wanted to know how you were doing after last night
Y/N Better now that I’ve slept I wish I could sleep longer tho Though my eyes hurt and it feels like I have a hangover
Jason Consequences of crying before bed
Y/N Make it go away
Jason Wanna meet for breakfast? Y/N?
Y/N (8:35am) Oh, sorry I fell asleep
Jason Uh huh It has nothing to do with the fact that I asked if you wanted to go for breakfast
Y/n Mm don’t know what you’re talking about And isn’t there a rule where a guy has to wait a least three days Before you ask the girl out again
Jason Apparently My brother advised me the same thing But since I could care less what he thinks about my relationship I have decided to ignore him and take the plunge and ask you anyways Besides he barely listens to his own advice So to each their own I guess
Y/N Why do I get the feeling that you ignore your brother a lot
Jason Couldn’t tell you So, breakfast?
Y/N Uh, wish I could But I have a train to catch
Jason Where’s it going?
Y/N Metropolis
Jason You're going home? Why so sudden?
Y/n The call with my sister? Apparently my dad is having surgery and my mom wants everyone there until he’s done Don’t know why I have to go, by the time I’m there it’ll probably be over
Jason Yikes What’s the surgery for?
Y/N Dunno, something to do with something? I’m not sure, I was half asleep when she called And she used that to her advantage and got me to agree to go home today
Jason Don’t you have class tomorrow?
Y/N Not until the afternoon
Jason Work?
Y/n Not until Tuesday
Jason Huh
Y/n Yup tbh I rather spend my Sunday with you then go home But it’s family and I can’t say no to my sister
Jason I get that family’s first But I would choose you over my family
Y/n … You can’t just say that!
Jason But flustering you is becoming my favourite past time
Y/n Get a new one!
Jason Nah, don’t think I will Okay, so no breakfast How about I drop you off at the station?
Y/N Tempting But if you do, then I’ll miss the train Because I wanna kiss your stupid face And besides, I’m almost there
Jason My face isn’t stupid … You wanna kiss me? Colour me flattered
Y/n I rescind my statement
Jason Can’t do that, it’s in writing Hold on, when you said you were sleeping You were actually packing, weren’t you?
Y/N Guilty I’m sorry I’ve spent thirty minutes debating on whether or not to ditch my family for you
Jason But in the end you’re ditching me Feels like your running from something I see how it is
Y/N I’m sorry D: I’m not running away or anything
Jason It’s okay, really I’m not mad or anything Okay, maybe a little disappointed But he’s your dad and you don’t know when’s the next time you see him So it’s okay, don’t feel bad I’ll wait around until your back And I know your not, I just took the joke too far and I’m sorry
Y/n I’m still sorry
Jason Can I call you?
Y/N Uhhhhhhh Give me a minute
Jason Take as much time as you need I can wait
Y/n Sweet of you But I needed to find a seat first And then my headphones
Jason So You’re good now?
Y/n Yup
It didn’t take more than a second before your phone rang after you sent the message.
“I thought you wanted to call?” you answered, moving your phone so Jason could see your face. He shrugged, shooting you a smile.
“Wanted to see your pretty face is all,” he said, and you could feel your face heat up at the compliment. Averting your eyes, you sink in your seat, trying to hide your face in your sweater. “Awe, is this what you look like when you get flustered? There’s no way I can't stop flustering you now. If this is what your reaction is going to be every time I do.”
“I’m hanging up now,” you mumbled into your sweater, and wondered if he heard that. Judging by the smile he gave you, he did.
“Nah, I don’t think so. You called my face pretty and you wanted to kiss it,” he said. That made you come out of your sweater and glared at him.
“I think I said stupid face,” you corrected, “you have a stupid face.”
“That you want to kiss,” Jason pointed out with a smile. You stuck out your tongue at him, making him laugh. “How’s the train ride?”
You shrugged, shifting in your seat trying to get comfortable. “A train ride I guess. We just left the station and it’ll be two hours until we get to Metropolis? My butts gonna hurt once I get there.”
“Gotta walk around once in a while,” Jason reminded, “did you bring anything for the ride?”
“Yeah, homework I still need to finish, my sketchbook and some books I’ve been meaning to read.”
“Sounds like a party,” Jason joked. You huffed out a laugh.
“Oh yeah, real life of the party over here.”
Before either of you could continue, you faintly heard a door slamming open and closing before hearing a faint call of Jason! You promised me breakfast! From what you could make out, it was a female voice and you pushed down the bout of jealousy that came from nowhere. You didn’t have the right to be jealous. Jason wasn’t yours, he was his own person and you two weren’t seeing each other officially. He was free to do what he pleased. Still, you couldn’t lie and say that it didn’t hurt.
You watched as Jason scowled, and turned towards the voice. “Yeah, give me a minute I’m on the phone.”
You schooled your features and raised an eyebrow as he turned back to his phone. “You already had breakfast plans, yet you still tried to make them with me? Wow Jason, didn’t know you had that in you.”
“Okay, first of all, I’m not a two timing bitch,” he clarified and you blanched at the statement. Damn, and you thought you hid it well. “And like I said before, I’d ditch my family for you any day of the week without question.”
“Aw Jason, you’d ditch your own sister! I see how it is,” the female voice said. Jason made a face as a blond haired girl came into frame, hanging off of Jason’s shoulders. Her nose pressed into his cheek and she smiled. “Tell me how you really feel, Jason.”
“Okay, I will,” he said, shoving her off, “you’re an annoying little shit.” She laughed and turned towards the phone. She was pretty, you had to admit.
“Oh, Tim’s right. You are cute,” she said, and you pulled your sweater over your mouth, trying to keep a laugh in as Jason looked offended.
“Steph!” he yelled, shoving her face out of frame. “Go away.”
“No, you promised me breakfast last night, and I demand pancakes,” she said, coming back in, shoving Jason out of frame as she did so. She turned to you and smiled. “Hello, I’m Jason’s sister Stephanie. You must be Y/N, it’s nice to meet you. I’ve heard virtually nothing about you.”
“And I’m trying to keep it that way,” he grunted, pushing her away. The two fought until finally they settled with Stephanie leaning on his shoulder. “How’d you even know their name?”
“Tim,” she answered. You raised your eyebrow in question. “He gets bored when he has nothing to do. And he decided to snoop around Jason’s life.”
“Well I’ll try not to be offended,” you said, though you furrowed your brows in concern. “Should I be worried?”
“I don’t think so,” Stephanie hummed, “not unless you have something to hide.”
“Do you have something to hide?” Jason pressed, a teasing smile dancing on his lips. You puffed out your cheeks and looked away.
“Oooh you do,” Stephanie sang, “tell us before we find out from Tim.”
“Tim needs to mind his own fucking business,” you muttered to yourself, causing Jason to laugh. “And no, I have nothing to hide. Lived a pretty boring life.”
“Don’t know, you tried killing your sister once,” Jason mused.
“I didn’t try on purpose! I pushed her off the deck into the lake,” you corrected, “and my dad got to her before anything could happen. Man, he was pissed. I feared for my life that day. I’ve never known fear until I saw the look he gave me.” You shuddered at the memory.
“How old were you?” Stephanie asked, worry laced in her words. You shrugged, staring at the corner of your phone, avoiding their gaze.
“Ten I think? Could be younger, I don’t know. Thought it would be funny, and it was until it wasn’t.”
“Did he hurt you?” Jason asked, you shook your head and moved your gaze to him.
“No. But the way he looked, he wanted to. If we were alone he probably would have. I booked it into the car and hid there until we went home. Then I hid in my room for the rest of the day.”
“Yikes. Why was he so mad? Bruce wouldn’t have been if we did something like that.”
“That’s because we knew how to take care of ourselves and we knew how to swim,” Jason pointed out.
“And he probably doesn’t have favourites,” you chimed in. You hummed in thought, ignoring the worried looks the two siblings were giving you. “But he doesn’t strike me as picking a favourite among his kids, unless he’s really good at hiding it. But no parent is that good at hiding that.”
“Have experience, do you?” Jason asked, you only hummed not wanting to elaborate. You aren’t sure how, but what was supposed to be a lighthearted conversation turned sour. You scrunched up your nose as a thought occurred to you. If it was this easy to talk to both Jason and Stephanie, you were afraid how the rest of his family would be. “Whatcha thinking about?”
“What you guys are having for breakfast,” you said instead of you voicing your thoughts.
“Ooh yes. I did come here for breakfast,” Stephanie said, as if she had forgotten the reason for being here. She turned to him and poked his cheek. “Make me pancakes with bacon and ham and eggs and everything.”
“How can you eat so much and not gain anything,” Jason grumbled as he moved off the couch and towards the kitchen. Stephanie shifted slightly so she was more centered to the camera.
“I work out,” she simply said with a shrug. Jason grumbled something, and since he was too far away you couldn’t hear what he said. “So, how’d you meet Jason anyways? Tim won’t say and Jason doesn’t want to talk about you when asked.”
“That’s because you pester me so much that I don’t want to talk about them,” Jason called, “and you don’t have to answer anything you want too, Y/N. Don’t let Stephanie bully you into answering questions.”
“It’s okay, Jason, I don’t mind. I know what it’s like to have siblings,” you said with a smile. “We met online. Started talking a few weeks back and haven’t stopped since.”
“Ah, you guys are still new,” Stephanie mused, “that means you can still back out before you guys get too serious.” You laughed at the same time Jason yelled hey! “Kidding, I’m kidding. I haven’t seen Jason happy in awhile. Please stick around, he’s more bearable when he’s happy.”
You watched as Jason stalked towards her, and plucked the phone from her. “If all you came here for was to make fun of me, you can go home without your food.”
“Noooo, Jason I’m sorry,” you heard Stephanie whine. And you couldn't be sure, but you saw Stephanie grovel a little bit on the floor. Although Stephanie couldn’t see Jason’s expression, you could and smiled at the little smile he shot you.
“Then go take a shower, you stink,” he said, and she was quick to race to the bathroom. “Your clothes are still here from last time!” he called and set the phone down so watch him as he prepared breakfast. “Sorry about her. I completely forgot she was coming over today.”
“No worries,” you dismissed, watching in awe as Jason cut up some vegetables with ease. “She was fun to talk to.”
“Prefer her over me, huh?”
“Nope. I like you more,” you said. “Where’d you learn how to cook?”
“Alfred taught me when I was young, and I kept going afterwards. Found it helped me when things got too stressed,” he explained. “Stress cooking is a lot healthier than other ways to deal.”
“I get that,” you mused, “I stress clean.”
“Nothing wrong with that,” he grunted. He stopped for a moment and looked towards you; eyes narrowed. “Did you have breakfast this morning?” You bit the top of your lip and avoided looking at him. “Y/N,” Jason said in warning.
“It was too early to eat!” you cracked, “I had a coffee and that was it.” Jason shook his head, going back to his food.
“I hope you eat something soon.”
“I packed some snacks. But they’re nothing compared to what you’re making for breakfast.”
“Well next time actually eat something or else I’ll just have to come over and cook for you.”
“That a threat?”
“No, more like a promise.”
“I’ll hold you to that,” you said with a smile.
“Stop flirting and cook me my food!” Stephanie yelled after the quickest shower you have ever seen someone take.
“So fucking demanding,” Jason grunted as you laughed.
“I should let you go so you can focus on the food instead of getting distracted,” you mused.
“But you’re the only kind of distraction I’d like,” he said, and you heard Stephanie gag. Laughing, you shook your head, trying to keep from blushing. “Okay maybe you’re right. Or otherwise, I’m going to throw Steph out the window.”
“Ha! I would like to see you try!”
Jason rolled his eyes and flicked them towards you. “Let me know when you’re there?”
“I can do that.”

It's currently way past midnight and Yuta just got in. Usually he would make sure to be home in time for dinner but tonight his schedule held him back. His home was quiet by the time he opened the door, assuming that you were already in bed.
So now he's heating up dinner in the microwave while reading the grocery list you stuck on the fridge door, smiling at the little drawings all around courtesy of your daughter.
He was too engrossed with reading that he didn't notice you coming down the stairs. Rubbing the sleep from your eyes, you spot your husband smiling at the piece of paper. You also spot the countdown on the microwave about to go off, quickly an quietly you trudge over to turn it off before the count down ends. Yuta having a little scare when he saw you,
"Baby, why are you awake?"
"Your son is kicking my bladder" you tell him, turning to face him and give him a hug. Yuta smiles, kissing the top of your head and hugging you as close as your pregnant tummy would allow him.
"The kids giving you a hard time?"
"Kaori had fun during soccer, she's an active kid. Her coach said she can play for the team next time if she keeps it up. She's only 7 and she's already a protege" you chuckle,
"That's my girl" Yuta says, "How about my boy, you two doing okay?" you feel his hand rest on your bump
"He thinks my inside is the soccer ball, I swear he's kicking in there. Damn you and your genes" you joke.
This made Yuta laugh, leaning down to capture your lips in his. Earlier he was really tired but now it's like he's re-energized. He wish he could spend all day with you and Kaori, but he got to go to work and provide.
It's not like he's being old fashioned and making you stay at home with the kids. Quite the opposite actually. Before you got pregnant with your second, you worked for a big fashion brand.
You were home until Kaori turned 1 then Yuta took the role of being the stay at home dad. And he loved every second of it, he loved being there whenever his little girl needed him.
But now Kaori's 7, your once little baby now a growing girl. The second pregnancy came as a surprise but both of you were very happy about it. This time though you're sick all the time during the first trimester. Then one time during the second trimester your tummy contracted and it gave the two of you slight scare but all is good now. So Yuta made you stay at home for the time being, for your and baby boy's safety.
"You should've woken me up" you tell him when the two of you broke apart
"I can heat my own dinner don't worry about it, you need to rest" he kisses you once more before stepping back to get his dinner from the microwave.
He sits on the bar stool by the kitchen while you pour drinks for the two of you.
"But I missed you, also Kaori was waiting for you she wanted to tell you all about her training today" you tell him, taking the seat beside him. He offers you a bite but you shake your head, not really hungry.
The two of you just talk quitely about how your day went, he cleans up after finishing his dinner while you wait for him.
After he's done he checks all the doors and windows downstairs before going back to you. Taking your hand and leading you upstairs.
"I'll go change and check on Kaori, you go to bed" he tells you.
He changes from his office clothes to his basketball shorts he loves wearing to sleep, leaving the shirt behind. He knows you love to cuddle him shirtless.
Yuta goes and opens his daughter's door, seeing the tuff of dark hair peaking from under the blankets. He smiles, whispering a quiet goodnight before shutting the door and making his way to your bedroom.
You're laying on your side, waiting for him. He shuts the door and the lights before sliding right beside you. Immediately you scoot over so you can hug his arm.
Before you can cuddle him fully, but since your bump is getting bigger and bigger everyday you can't really do that anymore. But he knows you can't sleep without hugging him or having any skin contact so he lets you do whatever you're currently comfortable with.
"Why don't I hug you instead?" he asks, just like he did last night. He already knows the answer but he tries anyways.
"Nooo, then you'll be the big spoon" you grumble. Nuzzling your face on his shoulder while he watches you lovingly.
"Why not? You love it when I'm the big spoon, you love it even better when I-" "Okay I'll stop you there, I like it when I'm not as big as a balloon. But your son is currently growing inside of me so let me be"
He giggles, the man giggles before leaning over to kiss you on the head before setlling back down on the bed.
"Whatever you want, my wife. Now go to sleep" he tells you. He feels you kiss his skin, then you're back to cuddling his arm. In your words that's an I-love-you. After being married for so long he already knows even without the words.
"I love you" he tells you then he's off to dream land too.

forcing a smile and waving goodbye ☆
feat. | xiao, childe, hu tao, and raiden shogun summary | breaking up w them :( a/n | it's been so long since i've written angst omg
hu tao |
she's been together with you for so long that she can hardly remember days without you. her life's been split into two sections; With You and Without You. Without You is cold and dark, a cave in her mind where she vanishes during the night and doesn't emerge till noon the next day.
she remembers how, before she met you, she was just there--incomplete, always bouncing around, always tailing people. she was just that girl at the funeral parlor that somehow knows zhongli. she was just hu tao. she remembers how, just two weeks after you two had started dating, she'd become hutaoandyn. she'd become important.
when you sit her down at your perfect mahogany-colored dining table, your perfect hands cupping a warm, steaming tea, your earnest eyes staring into hers, saying i don't think this is working out anymore, she is convinced it's a nightmare. she lets the words flow over the top of her head, holding her breath so she wouldn't cry. she doesn't say anything (are there even words for this awful pain?), just swallows her burning tea and stands up. the chair makes an awful squeaking noise, probably scratching up the floors you love so much. and she thinks, i hope they get scratched up so bad that every time you see them you think of me. and then she had feels ashamed, and petty. she forces a smile and she waves goodbye, and then slams the door.
she sits in the car for what felt like ten years, tears dripping onto the steering wheel and the seat, her shoes in her hand, her nose burning. the sky is gray, the ground is gray, the clouds are taunting her. her fire is gray, the funeral parlor is bleak. there is no joy in steamed fish. there is no joy in pranking people, not without you.
glaze lilies bring to mind your love for puns, the way she would wake up every sunday morning with a fresh bouquet and a note pinned to them on her bedside table. her heart splits a little when she eats jueyun chili chicken, because it was your favorite. when it comes around to your birthday, she takes a long bath and cries until her throat is raw and her eyes are red and swollen. on her birthday, despite the party that her friends throw for her, she wonders if you're remembering her the way she remembers you.
xiao |
xiao has never been good with feelings, but he is completely head over heels in love for you. he would sprint in front of a moving train for you. he would stab himself for you. he would rip out his heart for you, except you've done it first.
words shouldn't be able to hurt this much, especially words coming from your mouth, your mouth which usually says, i love you, xiao. except this time, it's saying, maybe we should rethink our relationship. i think we need a break. and he knows that you aren't meaning to hurt him, just trying to move on, just trying to make yourself feel better, but that doesn't console him. he tries to make himself feel angry as you're talking to him, but he can't. it's as if he won't feel anything ever again, just the painful pressure in his head, the ringing of your voice in his ears.
do me a favor and break my nose, or tell me to go away, he screams at you, but just in his head. he loves you, still. he feels like a broken nose would hurt less than this, your patient, sympathetic smile, your cried-out eyes that show that you still care too. you reach for his hand, but he feels like your touch would burn, maybe it would make him shatter into a million pieces like glass. do people do that? do adepti do that? does anything alive do that at all?
he feels like he's drowning, like something's holding his head underwater. it's making your face all fuzzy. or maybe that's the tears in his eyes, or maybe he's tired. maybe he's so tired he's hallucinating the whole thing. but that would be too good to be true, because you're standing up and squeezing his shoulders and walking off.
he guesses that you won't have any more tea dates. and with that, he hurls his cup to the ground and watches it shatter.
raiden shogun |
raiden is unaccustomed to love, which is why it hurts more when you're breaking up with her. she had told you that she wasn't the right person to love, that she could hurt you, that she wasn't perfect. you had kissed her and told her that she was wrong, she was lying, of course she was perfect. despite her protests, she had fallen in love with you; your smile and your chin and your cheeks and your forehead. your hands, which hold hers.
she wants to slap you, make you hurt the way she does. she wants to kill you for how you made her love you and then you're making her stop. but of course, she can't stop. how could she ever not love you? you take her face in your hands and she melts, she slumps away. she tries to deny it to herself (of course you still love her!) but it feels like she's ripping away, like just a small gust of wind could strip her away to her skeleton.
bleakly, in her haze, she wonders if there's someone else. someone else who's stolen your gaze as she once did, who you think about at night and whisper stolen words into their ears. but then she thinks about you, and she realizes that would not be the case. you would be doing it because you would think that she wanted it, that she wanted space.
you kiss her cheek, and she thinks numbly, maybe if she was better at love, this wouldn't happen.
childe |
childe had never thrown himself into love as fervently as he did with yours. you could make him smile when he felt like he was dying, and your laugh had taken up a space in his brain reserved specifically for you.
he loved how the light dappling across your face could bathe you in such an ethereal glow, as if you were blessed by the archons. and, he guessed, sometimes you were. it's uncanny, the way your face showed no emotion as you took his hand and whispered, i think we need a break. his heart had shattered then, into a million pieces that dissolved into his body. maybe he could never fix it.
he stares at you, so blankly, you wonder maybe if he hasn't heard you. then he says, what? so softly, so sadly, it almost splits your soul apart. he thinks, probably, that no one will make him as happy as you did. perhaps he will never be happy again. this thought scares him, it rattles him, he never wants to forget your face.
he's never cried over someone before, but he does now. and the sight of his tears shock you, as if you've been dumped into an ice-cold bath and can't breathe. he's sobbing, hands curled into tight fists, waving you away, telling you to just go, please go, please, please go. you don't want to leave him, but you know his sadness will turn to anger and he will lash out. you press a kiss to his temple and he shouts, fuck off! fuck off and go!
as he watches you go, he thinks that simply "fuck off" might be too kind.
