You know I'm surprised nobody has pointed out that "degraded copy" along with other things that hint at it like Whit saying he bleached his hair to look like his mom heavily points to the fact that Whit is actually mimicking his mother.
By that I mean that the Whit we see right now isn't really the real Whit but more so a facade he puts on based on what he knows about his mother.
I think it might be due to self hatred but I actually think it's more specific in that I think he hates himself because his actual personnality is more akin to his dad.
I think we see that "true personality" shine through weirdly enough in the freetime event, in which we see for the first time Whit fully break away from his jokester personnality and we're met with this specific expression we see nowhere else in the series.
It's a lot more stoic and well...depressed than expected from Whit (also comes from my favorite scene for his character). It's very much a resigned expression and it comes from the few times we see under the mask.
Another thing which is told in a QnA is that Whit is actually prudish which is surprising considering how outspoken or "extraverted" he seems on the outside.
Along with another small detail that his hair used to be black (most likely his father's hair color) which would give him a lot more of a reserved or "dark" look.
Here is an edit to showcase that his previous hair color clearly gives him a more sad or "emo" look contrasting with his current appearance.
All of this for me hints that Whit's true personnality is more akin to his dad which is serious, quiet and even stoic. However, either due to a hatred of his dad or a hatred of himself or both, he changed it to look like his mom and started acting like her but of course he can't fully act like her as he struggles to comfort a crying Eden or avoid acting insensitively (hence "degraded copy" being in pink as Whit is a degraded copy of his mom)

"Batman should be a good parent because he's the hero of the story so it makes no sense that he abuses his kids. He's a paragon of justice and so he must also be a good father." - a take I've seen around recently
Have you considered that Bruce isn't supposed to be a perfect person?
He's a hero to the people he helps, he's not a hero in every facet of his life. He's a paragon of justice when a sick and twisted society won't punish criminals because of corruption and bribery, he's not a paragon of justice in the sense that he will always stand for what is right - what's right and wrong strongly depends especially for a 80+ yo character. He's selfless when it comes to his mission because he refuses to have a normal life, and sacrifices his own happiness for the greater good of Gotham and the rest of the world, but he's not selfless in the sense that he will prioritize the well being of his family over everything else.
Bruce is often written as someone who is a control freak, paranoid, domineering, and to be Batman it kind of makes sense that he needs to be. His mission is noble and so are his actions, but he's a flawed human being who will also hurt those who love him, will cross other people's boundaries, will be physically violent and emotionally dry.
Yes he's a good parent sometimes and often he's also a very good person, but to be honest if he was a perfect paragon of righteousness without a single flaw I wouldn't like him nearly as much as I do. He's interesting because he's imperfect, and if I want to read about a character who's the picture of emotional and moral perfection, I pick up a Superman comicbook.

Y'all I've been watching the classic Thomas the Tank engine episodes while revising for exams and when I say I have never seen a group bully each other so much before I genuinely mean it.
If anyone wants to know how siblings actually are just go watch a few of those old 5-minute long episodes. I'm not kidding, the amount these lot bully each other while also still being friends is on sibling level.
Come on, one episode literally had them (and by them I really mean just Gordon, the biggest one who pretty much started it) go make Percy, who's pretty much the smallest engine, go ask the fat controller about something that they didn't like but didn't wanna ask themselves, and I kid you not it read EXACTLY like the adult siblings making the baby sibling ask a strict parent for takeout. EXACTLY.

mild kinnporsche meta peeve:
who in the heck thinks vegas and pete have somehow gotten clear of the mafia world??? that someone or something will be needed to "drag them back in"?
like vegas's name is still theerapanyakul y'all, he still has enemies. pete too, he's been a main family bodyguard for how long?
and vegas still has all the knowledge of the workings of the minor family (and knowing him, most of the main family too) he knows where the bodies are buried, knows the "dirty dealings" assigned to the subsidiary branch, he has relationships with their connections, suppliers, etc etc
neither he nor pete are likely to go looking for regular 9-5 jobs anyway? vegas's skillset is crime boss and pete's is fighting/bodyguarding, what else are they gonna do? they're not exactly homebodies
you really think korn is gonna pay for them to just relocate and idk start a b&b somewhere?
they are just as stuck in the mafia life as many people are lamenting that porsche now is; as keeps being reiterated throughout the show: it's a life you don't get to just "quit" one day
when vegas says he has "nothing left" he means of his personal goals, his chance to win his father's love/respect, the things he wanted to achieve to impress him, not that he's absolved of any connections to his own family. when pete quits, he knows he's not leaving the mafia world behind, he's just declaring his allegiance has changed: vegas is his priority
and even if they do separate from the family for bit - as unlikely as i think that is - we know enough of vegas's personality that the chances of him just letting korn get away with killing his father without any kind of revenge plan are incredibly miniscule
like never mind that if they continue to stick with the general arc of the novel, vegas and pete will be right there in the thick of it, it's just bizarre to think of them as ever "getting away" from the mafia life without, as kinn once suggested to porsche, faking their deaths or running away and leaving the country
