there is no other love (it’s only yours)
Tumblr media
Pairing(s): Wanda Maximoff x fem!reader
Summary: About seven months into your relationship, you meet one of Wanda's friends for the first time. As she watches you freely converse with her friend in sign language, she begins to doubt if she is truly enough for you.
Request: "For the “sweet” au with wanda can you write something with yn meeting wanda’s friends and one of them being fluent in asl. Warnings: a bit of angst and hurt/comfort (balanced by even more fluff)
Word Count: 2.2k
Author's Note: thanks for the request, and i hope this meets all of your expectations, anon! i had so much fun returning to this au to write this, and so many feelings. something about this one just hits different... also, requests are still open!

The first time you met one of Wanda’s friends — excluding her aptly described "goofy" coworkers from the coffee shop — was a little more than seven months into your relationship. It was not as if she was keeping them away from you, or vice versa. She could never be ashamed of you; in fact, you were all she thought about most of the day, if not the whole day. Instead, the lack of meetings was simply due to the fact that the two of you always seemed to be busy during the previous months and never had the chance to set up such meetings. With splitting your time between work, family, and your barista girlfriend, you barely had time for anything else.
One day, Wanda had approached you with the question. It was during one of your Friday evenings, which was strictly for binge-watching movies and ordering takeout. She tapped the side of your arm, given that your hearing aids were not on at the moment, and waited for you to turn your head to meet her eyes.
You smiled but immediately took notice of how she was obviously hesitant about whatever was on her mind currently. With a slight tilt of the head, you remained still and waited for her to start.
My friend came to the coffee shop today, she signed, her apprehension evident even in the way she used her hands. I told her about you, my girlfriend, and she wants to meet you. Is that okay?
Your eyes widened, unsuspecting to the question. You begin to realize that she was probably hesitant to ask because she did not want to force you to be in any situation that would make you uncomfortable. In spite of your nerves, however, you nodded your head. Any friend of Wanda's would be a friend of yours, so you trusted her enough to not introduce you to someone who was less than nice.
I would love to meet your friend, Wands, you answered. Tell me when and where, and I will be there.
She smiled, eternally thankful that she had acquired a wonderful girlfriend such as you. As a token of her gratitude, she leaned up to lay a kiss on your cheek. You grinned bashfully and redirected your attention back to the screen while Wanda pulled out her phone to begin setting up the meeting with her friend.
That was how you found yourself sitting with Wanda and her old friend from college — Darcy, you had found out — at some restaurant you had never been to before.
For the sake of everyone involved, you tried to push through the varying volumes of noise coming through your hearing aids; you tried to prevent the occasional eye twitch and furrowed brows when the glassware and ceramic plates would constantly clink and clack together; and you most definitely tried to not clench your fists so that you would not ruin this for Wanda.
But she could tell. From your first encounter in the coffee shop to now, she could always tell when you were feeling overwhelmed from the constant input of disruptive sounds.
You were attempting to drown out the noise, planning to focus on listening to the two of them speak about some story from college; but, it was not working. As the minutes passed, you were becoming increasingly frustrated, mostly with yourself. Wanda noticed the silence, not only of your words but of your actions. You remained uncharacteristically still, eyebrows furrowed; in your lap, your hands were clutching at the fabric of your pants.
Trying to get your attention, Wanda placed one of her hands on top of your own. You stopped the movement of your hands and looked at Wanda. She knows how stubborn you are, that you would never want to take your hearing aids out merely because they were bothering you; however, given the way in which you were already considerably distressed, it was the only thing she could suggest to help. So, she indicated for you to take your hearing aids out.
Your eyes widened, shaking your head slightly. You wanted to appear as normal as possible for Wanda’s friend, as worthy as possible. If taking an hour or so of hearing annoying, mind-numbing sounds was what was required, then so be it.
Wanda rolled her eyes at your typical stubborn nature but leaned in closer for you to hear her as clearly as possible when she said, “It’s okay, I promise. If they’re bothering you, we can just use our notes app to talk or something.”
You were weary but decided to listen. Upon finally removing your hearing aids, you took a sigh of relief at the peacefulness that came with the silence. Wanda smiled at the sight, seeing you become more and more comfortable with not wearing your hearing aids (with a few obstacles, of course).
You feeling better? she asked, through a few signs of her hand.
Returning the smile she wore, you nodded your head. You rotated to face Darcy again, wishing to pick up where she had left off in the story (hoping to also pick up on some of the details you missed from the previous few minutes through context clues). However, as you shifted your body to retrieve your phone from your pocket, you noticed her sign: Are you deaf?
Your eyes widened once again, shocked to see someone else sign fluently off the bat. You turned to Wanda, flickering your gaze from Darcy to Wanda in a “did you know she could sign?” type of way. Yet, Wanda looked just as surprised as you did.
Despite the shock, Wanda nudged you to reply.
Yeah, you replied, the surprise still evident on your face. How do you know sign?
She chuckled at the expression on your face but continued to sign. I have an older brother who was born deaf, she started. He got hearing aids like you, eventually, but we all used sign to communicate growing up so he wouldn’t feel left out. To be honest, sign is my first language, even before English.
From that point on, you and Darcy simply signed everything. Both of your hands were allowed to speak freely and, for one of the first times, it felt great to go out and talk to someone without having to actually talk (because that would require hearing).
Wanda tried to keep up with the conversation to the best of her abilities, even throwing in her own comments here and there; given that she was a beginner, though, she could only really capture the gist of what you two were discussing. She bit her lip and resigned herself to pushing the food around her plate, allowing you to experience this moment of elation even if she feels excluded. Maybe this simply was not meant for her.
It was not until the two of you stepped into Wanda’s apartment that you began to notice something was off. You were trying to tell her (via a typed note) that you enjoyed tonight, raving about meeting her friend who was fluent in your language; however, all you received was a nod in return. While she was normally silent around you (especially when you had your hearing aids out), she was currently exhibiting a different type of silence. It was as if she was giving you the silent treatment through her actions, constantly zoning out and looking away. To you, it was becoming increasingly clear that something was wrong with her.
You tapped her arm, but she didn’t face your direction. So, you grasped her arm and made her turn fully toward you. Her expression was unusually stoic, making your stomach churn at the thought that she was upset with you. Contrastingly, Wanda saw the frown that adorned your face. She wanted to feel bad, to take you into her arms in the most loving hug and tell you that it would be okay; though she did feel bad to a certain extent, the bad did not outweigh the nerves of inferiority coursing throughout her body.
Are you okay? you asked with your hands.
Wanda remained still, making no effort to respond to you through sign or the typical digital methods. Her breathing became quicker, demonstrating she was not as calm on the inside as she appeared with her faux, collected exterior.
Wands? you signed her name sign that you assigned to her, the concern evident on your face and in the desperate moves of your hands. What’s wrong? Did I do something wrong? Did I do something to make you upset?
Wanda finally lifted her head further up to meet your gaze. I’m sorry I’m not like her, she signed.
You tilted your head, eyebrows furrowing in confusion at what she meant.
Slowly, you responded, I don’t understand.
You could see the way her throat bobbed as she gulped. Whereas she was nervous about opening up, you were petrified as to what she was going to say. You had never witnessed Wanda be so... isolated before. She had always urged you to talk to her when you were in distress, so why would she think that does not apply in reciprocity?
I’m sorry I am not Darcy, she reiterated. I’m sorry I don’t know sign language as well as she knows sign. I saw your eyes, your face. You were so happy. I’m sorry I am not good enough for you.
You watched intently as she stumbled through her words. By the end, you were attempting to suppress the laugh bubbling in the back of your throat from the absurdity of it all. You had failed, though.
As a tiny chuckle slipped through your lips, Wanda rolled her eyes and returned to her stoic, still state.
You tried to grasp her arm again in order to pull her close, but she pulled her arm out of your hold. While it hurt your feelings, you understood and respected her boundary.
Wands, I’m sorry, you began. You held a finger up to indicate you needed a moment as you tried to get the phone from your pocket. Given the nature of the conversation and Wanda’s stress, you figured it would be easier for the two of you to clearly and effectively communicate through typing in your notes app.
You tried to type your message with haste:
Wands, I am truly sorry for laughing. I promise I was not laughing at your feelings. I was only laughing at the words, which probably does not sound better but I swear it was just because I thought it was so… crazy, for lack of a better word, that you would think you aren’t good enough for me. In fact, I often think you’re too good for me. You are the most beautiful, empathetic girlfriend in existence. I could never be as good as you.
As for you not knowing sign language like Darcy, you didn’t grow up knowing it like she did. But that’s not your fault. And, in spite of that, you still make every effort to learn sign which is more than most people have done or would do. You literally took secret classes at the local college just to surprise me! So, you better be nicer when you talk about my girlfriend, or I might have to fight you next time, except maybe not because I need these hands in good shape in order to talk. >:(
You finished typing the message and turned the phone around to face her. Wanda took it into her own hands and began to read it. You observed the movement of her eyes as they scanned each word. A lone tear flowed down her cheek. You were worried that that was a bad sign; however, toward the end of your message, you saw her lips twitch into a slight smile at your humor, even during serious conversations.
When she lifted her head up from reading, sniffling and wiping her cheeks dry, you held your hand up with the sign that was essentially shorthand for ‘I love you.’
Forming her hand to be similar to the letter ‘Y’, Wanda slid it back and forth from you to herself, indicating ‘I love you, too.’
You took the hand that she held out, pressing a kiss to her knuckles. Then, in a surprising move, you used your firm grip on her hand to pull her closer. Letting her hand go, you wrapped your arms around her waist. She grinned widely at your antics but nevertheless allowed herself to be embraced, needing the comfort your proximity provided her. With her hands resting on your shoulders, you leaned your face closer to hers: forehead resting against forehead; then, nose nuzzling against nose; and then, your lips gently brushed hers.
The two of you allowed yourselves to fully experience this moment, not feeling the need to deepen the kiss. The softness, the warmth, the intimacy of the moment were sufficient for you both.
As you pulled away, you cheekily pressed a quick peck on her lips. You pulled your hand away from its place at her side to sign one more thing: Green is not your color. Your color is red, not green.
She blushed at the accusation but questioned, My color is red?
You nodded confidently, Red is love. Red is warm. You are red.
If the blush on her cheeks could redden more, it definitely had. You loved the way she flushed simply from your words. It was one of the many reminders about why you loved this woman so deeply.
End.

Pairing: Bayverse! Raph x Fem! Reader
Warnings: None I think
Word count: 500+
Based on this request | Part one/Part two

First Meeting:
It surprised the turtles that you weren't scared of them. Raph definitely didn't expect the smile that sat on your face while you talked with them. Or the amazement in your eyes the first time you saw the lair. It was Mikey's bright idea to bring you back to the lair, have a fun 'pizza night'. Which just entailed watching a movie and Mikey stuffing his face with greasy pizza.
Raph and his brothers weren't too keen on the idea, but your excitement and the way that Mikey picked you up and spun you around, somehow changed their minds. The first time you were alone with Raph was less than awkward. The only conversation that took place was but a short icebreaker.
"So, red is your favorite colour?" "Uh, yes..." "Nice."
Nice... That's how he would describe you. The way you made eye contact with him, not a single drop of fear in your eyes. How he noticed you anxiously playing with your sleeves after one of his outbursts. He remembers telling himself to tone them down. To not scare you.
Tumblr media
Realizing He's in Love:
The way you bandage his hand, with such delicate and care. As if he wasn't a seven foot mutant turtle. He remembers you explaining being socially awkward around other people, yet feeling more comfortable with the turtles.
"You don't have to do this, ya know." "Leo asked me to."
You were also generous. Doing the things that Leo asks, better than any of his brothers could do. Helping Donnie with his tech, even if you didn't understand most of it. You even taught Mikey how to cook, or well, taught him how to make food that wouldn't kill his brothers.
Raph found himself staring at you more often. Wanting to see your smile, make you smile.
Tumblr media
Confession:
"What was that?" You ask, looking up from the med kit in your lap. You held eye contact with him before he broke it, looking at the dim sewer wall. His eyes drifted back to you as you gently patted his leg.
"Raph, please tell me." Your eyes, that just seems to pull him in. Breaking down his hard exterior to reveal the love and want he had for you.
"I... I like you." He repeats, a little louder this time. You cock your head, a soft smile creeping onto your face. "I like you too, Raph." His large hands finds itself on your shoulder. His eyes focused on your face, running over it with grace.
"No, like... I love you." Your eyes widen for a second before you grab onto his arm. "Are you serious?" He nods his head, watching the med kit fall to the floor. You jump up and wrap your arms around his neck. "So, you feel the same?" His question comes out as a whisper, holding you tight. "Duh! Of course I do!" You giggle, pressing your nose against his beak.

Week 1 Retrospective: Who Is John Egbert?
It’s official - Homestuck is one week old today! And while a week is not a long run for a comic, it’s already got more pages than the author’s earlier work Bard Quest, so maybe it’s something worth recognizing. So I wanted to mark a week of Homestuck by doing a deep dive on what we’ve learned about our protagonist John Egbert so far. It’s some fact collection, some wild speculation, and some ongoing questions. It’s over 3000 words, so it’s under a readmore for anyone who’s interested.
If that doesn’t sound like a fun time to you (or even if it does), you can take the John Egbert Big 5 Personality Test to see how you score on John’s five key personality traits. It’s 14 multiple choice questions, so a much quicker read.
We’re introduced to John on page 4, where we’re given five key interests of his: bad movies, programming computers, paranormal lore, amateur magic, and gaming. I’ll take these one by one and use them as a framework for John’s character so far.
“You have a passion for REALLY TERRIBLE MOVIES.”
John has eleven (11) movie posters on his walls. Of these, three star Matthew McConaughey and two star Nicolas Cage. More notably, six have a Rotten Tomatoes rating below 50%, and two of these are below 10%. I haven’t seen any of these movies, but as far as I can tell, here are the one sentence summaries [broad spoilers for all these movies].
Little Monsters: A boy befriends a monster and visits the monster world, where they try to convert him into a monster too.
Con Air: A paroled man disrupts a gang of prisoner’s escape from a prison transport plane.
Deep Impact: Earth tries to prepare for extinction after a comet is found on a collision course with Earth.
Ghostbusters II: After going out of business, the Ghostbusters reunite to combat a negative energy slime monster.
Mac and Me: A boy befriends a young alien who gets separated from his family and lost on Earth.
Contact: An Earth scientist successfully discovers alien life and travels to an alien world.
A Time to Kill: A father is acquitted in court for killing the perpetrators of racial hate crimes against his daughter.
Failure to Launch: A 35 year old man’s parents hire a woman to persuade him to finally move out of their home.
Face/Off: A terrorist and a FBI agent go through facial transplant surgery and temporarily swap identities.
Armageddon: A group of space workmen go on a mission to stop an asteroid from destroying Earth.
Ghost Dad: A man temporarily dies but is able to interact with his children in ghost form.
From this we can see that John really likes science fiction movies related to aliens, ghosts and monsters, as well as action comedy. We also know from page 21: ‘Films about impending apocalypse fascinate you’. A Time to Kill and Failure to Launch are the only ones that don’t fit his taste. The implication here is that John really loved Matthew McConaughey in Contact and so watched his other movies even though they were things he wouldn’t usually watch.
I’m curious if these movies are intended as clues to John’s character, the future of the comic, or both. In terms of his character, they make me see him as someone who’s imaginative and goofy, young and carefree, not concerned with other people’s opinions, more interested in watching movies for their surface meanings and exciting stories, maybe wants to escape to a different world, might be a little bit gay.
In terms of the future of the comic, it could be that we’re going to see literal aliens or monsters - they could even be already here, keeping John ‘homestuck’. Slime monsters are particularly highlighted, with Slimer from Ghostbusters appearing on John’s shirt and computer background, and his chumhandle, ectoBiologist, relating to slime. Slime invasion honestly feels too obvious, and anyway, several of John’s movies are about befriending a more benign supernatural force - could John’s Pesterchum friends be something other than human? Or maybe it’s a more metaphorical meaning, referring to John having a very different life to his friends?
Two of these movies feature Earth extinctions by giant space rocks, but there’s absolutely no indication of this being a real world threat John is dealing with. Again, it could refer more generally to a sudden, life changing event that’s about to happen to disrupt John’s current state, something that would fit thematically with this being John’s 13th birthday, a milestone age.
There’s also a theme of crime and the legal system in several movies, including Con Air, the one that’s been most highlighted. The most obvious interpretation of John’s dad right now is that he’s a clown or performer, but there’s an outside chance he could be in law enforcement, or a criminal. It’s even possible that he’s currently in hiding or some kind of safe house. This would explain John being ‘homestuck’ and sick of spending time with his dad.
Speaking of John’s dad, I’m concerned for him based on the Ghost Dad summary - the comic keeps teasing his presence, but we haven’t actually seen him yet. Could he be a ghost? Or become one at some point? Alternatively, we know John has an already dead relative - could his nanna be a ghost? Did John dropping her ashes release her ghost? Family is a really common theme in movies, so I don’t know if a large number of these movies being about family (especially fathers) is relevant, but I’m noting it all the same.
“You like to program computers but you are NOT VERY GOOD AT IT.”
John claims he ‘likes to program’, but it actually seems to make him angry. We first learn ‘[y]ou were never all that great with data structures and you find the concept [of the stack modus] puzzling and mildly irritating.’ We then see three files on John’s desktop, two in ^CAKE - ‘pff.^CAKE’ and ‘FUCK FUCK FUCK.^CAKE’ and one in ~ATH - ‘AAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH.~ATH’. These tell a clear narrative of John trying to work on his programming and getting increasingly more frustrated with his attempts, until inevitably giving up. Both of the programming languages are puns, too. ^ is often called a carat (carrot cake) while ~ is a tilde (til death).
I know this is wild speculation, but… John started off coding in a harmless programming language, was already struggling, then for some reason switched over to the most ominous possible sounding language, screwed it up even worse, and now… he’s constantly haunted by the ghost of failed programming attempts in the form of his sylladex, which he appears to be new to using (he had no prior understanding of it on page 7 - although this could be handwaved due to video game tutorial logic), and which operates similarly to a computer program and seems to cause John endless frustration. He’ll have to figure out how to exploit the inventory system in ways that help him, which involves actually figuring out some stuff about coding, in order to partake in some real life ghostbusting, or monster hunting, or dealing with whatever threat he’ll have to deal with by using inventory hacks.
“You have a fondness for PARANORMAL LORE,” (...)
By far the interest of John’s that we’ve seen the least of so far, John’s love of the paranormal is mostly inferred through his movie preferences, and we don’t see any direct evidence of an interest in lore. However, I can’t stop fixating on John’s chumhandle: ectoBiologist. The comic’s first act was to draw attention to giving John a name, and for many 2009 kids, the names they go by online are more meaningful and representative of them than their real world names.
‘ecto-’ means ‘outer, outside, external’ according to dictionary.com, and it’s actually a common prefix in a variety of fields of biology, but there’s no such thing as ‘ectobiology’ as a field, or an ‘ectobiologist’ - neither term has any search results prior to Homestuck. I think it’s way more likely that this refers to ectoplasm, a term from both cell biology and spiritualism that was popularized by Ghostbusters to mean any substance secreted by a ghost, in practice often manifesting as green slime. Slimer, who we can guess is John’s favorite, is a benign ghost made of pure ectoplasm. I love the idea that John loves this dumb ghost so much that he’s memorized all the lore about them in their appearances throughout the franchise, and devised this username based on being an expert on these ghosts right down to their biology (or at least thinking he is).
The only catch is, ‘fondness for paranormal lore’ is very passive and doesn’t even imply much knowledge, much less action, while ‘biologist’ implies that John has been doing actual experiments. The idea of John trying to create a real life Slimer the same way other kids make slime in their kitchens is really entertaining, if an off the wall theory. Does ‘homestuck’ just mean John is grounded for an unethical science project?
(...) “and are an aspiring AMATEUR MAGICIAN.”
The magic chest is one of the biggest, most eye catching and most colorful objects in John’s room. We see its contents on page 8, which lean more into joke store items than things a magician might use, except for the trick handcuffs and perhaps the collapsible sword. The narration on this page states that John is neither a skilled magician nor a cunning prankster. I’m nitpicking definitions here, but everything John has done so far has been way more about pranks than about magic.
John’s uses of the magic chest to date are…
various putting things into his inventory and removing them (funny, but unintentionally)
combining fake arms with cake (p.36) out of necessity, which ‘makes the cake at least 300% more hilarious’
merging hat with beagle puss to create a clever disguise (p.45) and wearing it for 25+ pages, which he acknowledges is a ‘shitty disguise’
attaching fake arms to harlequin doll (p.65), which makes it ‘AT LEAST a million percent funnier’
All of which are definitely not magic tricks, and honestly not even pranks. Arguably John’s best and most successful prank so far has been when he pretended not to have arms for the first six pages, before revealing his arms after the interface had gone to the trouble of moving the cake off his magic chest to get him some arms.
John keeps thinking about reading Colonel Sassacre’s Guide to Magical Frivolity and Practical Japery, but always finding some excuse not to. He can’t read it until he captchalogues it, but once he does that, it gets buried in his inventory. He assumes that the book can tell him the exact percentage increase of hilarity a prank leads to, but it’s too big for him to actually look anything up.
An outside theory for this that I don’t think is likely simply because it’s so much darker than the comic has been so far, is that John loves this book, but since the incident where his nanna was killed by a copy (perhaps even this copy?) he hasn’t been able to bring himself to read it. A far more likely theory is that while John is an aspiring amateur magician, it’s more of a big idea, and he hasn’t actually done any magic yet. This also tracks with his weaksauce pranks above. And if that’s true, then it says a lot about John that he defines himself by a hobby he aspires to but doesn’t actually practice - he’s someone with big dreams and less motivation, just like his big dream of going to collect the mail from his father despite the lack of motivation that’s kept him messing around for 70 pages.
“You also like to play GAMES sometimes.”
Potentially most important of all is Gamer John. We get a list of games John likes to play from inspecting his CD tower the same way we get a list of movies from looking at his posters.
Bard Quest
The Caper Havers
Problem Sleuth
And It Don’t Stop
What Pumpkin?
Ghostbusters II MMORPG
Little Monsters (for Nintendo)
Harry Anderson: Call My Bluff!
The first five games all reference previous work by the author of Homestuck, and as such probably don’t need in depth analysis. However, the fact that within the world of Homestuck, these are all games (instead of comics) is one of several suggestions that we should think of Homestuck as a game, something that needs further analysis.
The next two games are video game adaptations of movies we know John likes, and the last is a branded video game from Harry Anderson, whose book we’ve already seen in John’s magic chest. Notably, none of these are real video games in our world either. It says a lot that John plays game versions of things he already likes (he’s put ‘countless manhours’ into this assortment of quality titles).
However, it’s undeniable that the most important game in John’s life right now is Sburb. The poster is behind his head in the first panel, placed centrally with one of the only two splashes of color in the panel. The beta release is the only thing marked on his calendar for April besides his birthday, and the Sburb logo is even the picture printed on the calendar - perhaps it’s a calendar themed around new game releases? There’s clear delight on John’s face when he thinks about getting the beta, and his quest to fetch it from the recently delivered mail is the closest thing to a story this comic has so far.
Unfortunately, we know almost nothing about Sburb, so we don’t know what it says about John that he wants to play it. It’s publicized as the Game of the Year, and according to GameBro, the game may be about houses and the player may not get to thrash anything, although these details are provided by someone who hasn’t played the game so I’m not taking them as expert opinion. It might be multiplayer - TT has been pestering TG all day about playing it with her. Maybe John just wants to share a game with his friends.
Speaking of GameBro, John can’t stand the magazine, although he for some reason has a copy on his desk. He describes the publication as ‘a joke’ to TG, and he makes the effort to take it downstairs to the fire and burn it, presumably releasing asbestos fibers into the house and causing serious lung damage to himself and his father. Does he read this because it’s the only games magazine that exists? Or did he like it just fine until now, when it trashed the game he’s excited about, and now he’s furious with it? Either way, it tracks with John’s overall fondness for critically panned media that he would be angry about contrarian critics.
All of this has left me with a few questions about John as our main character. These are the things that I’m keeping an eye on and trying to answer as the story continues.
What is John good at?
We hear so much about what John is bad at. He’s explicitly stated to be bad at programming, pranks, and magic. He’s bad at using his sylladex. He’s clumsy and knocked over his nanna’s ashes. He’s got bad taste in media. He’s funny but only when he doesn’t try to be, and even then he’s sometimes the butt of the joke, where the joke is how not funny John’s joke is. He was tempted to squawk like an imbecile and shit on his desk. He has like six different prankster props and he doesn’t even use all of them. I’m saying all this with love and kindness because he also just seems like such a sweet kid, but so far he doesn’t have any defined strengths or skills.
Is he going to turn out to be really good at gaming and kick ass at Sburb? Are we going to get a curveball where it turns out John is an amazing baker, and he hates the cakes in his room and the smell of Betty Crocker because he can do so much better than that packet mix? Or is he starting off from this low point so he can develop skills as time goes on?
What is John’s relationship with his dad really like?
John doesn’t want his dad to monopolize his time and feels trapped in his room, despite his dad baking cakes and leaving notes on gifts telling John he’s proud of him. John’s dad gets his son one great present that John’s really appreciative of, and one terrible present that John immediately hates. All of this feels very reasonable and normal for a teen feeling misunderstood by a parent who’s trying their best.
And then there’s the clowns.
John can excuse magical frivolity and practical japery, but he draws the line at harlequins. He’s an aspiring magician, but his dad’s figurines are ‘fucking garbage’ and his dad ‘sure can be a real cornball’. John seems like somebody who gets angry at ultimately unimportant things, like bad reviews of games, too many cakes, and harlequin figurines, but because of the subject matter it reads like an intense rivalry between two highly specific subcultures that outsiders would group together. John is really making a huge deal of needing to disguise himself and mentally prepare himself to go down and face his dad, and I want to know if there’s any genuine reason behind John’s fear, or if it’s solely the overdramatics I’m starting to think are typical of him.
Is John ‘Homestuck’?
‘Sometimes you feel like you are trapped in this room. Stuck, if you will, in a sense which possibly borders on the titular.’ (p.30)
John clearly feels like he’s stuck at home, but is this the extent of the title’s meaning? His dad has recently returned from getting groceries, so leaving the house is in theory possible. Reasons why John might be homestuck include: he’s not allowed to leave the house (for example, he’s grounded, or his dad is very controlling), he can leave the house but there’s nowhere to go (he lives near major roads, bodies of water, farms, or other obstacles, and there’s no public transport to get anywhere), or he can leave the house but it’s not safe to do so (there’s some sort of external threat, either supernatural like a monster or alien invasion, or mundane like a criminal or bomb threat). Seeing out of John’s window and into his front yard does not provide any clues; it looks like an extremely average front yard with a tree, swing and mailbox, and we know the mail was recently delivered, so there can’t be anything too world-ending happening in the neighborhood. Right now John’s goal (the Sburb Beta disc) is inside the house, so this might not get answered right away - in fact, my running theory is that the game itself might hold the answers, as its logo is a house.
What’s the differentiation between John and the narrator?
My biggest question of all, and one that probably deserves its own essay. I’m fascinated by the lines ‘In a kid's yard, a tree without a tire swing is like a proper gentleman without a monocle.’ (p.27) and ‘In a home, a FIREPLACE needs a fire, because that's what FIREPLACE is for.’ (p.50). These lines carry so much opinion, but because the narrator is constantly addressing John with the second person ‘you’, I don’t think these are John’s opinions. The narrator does have a window into John’s thoughts, so the line between them can be blurred, but there's clearly a distinction somewhere, because there have been pushbacks and disagreements between the two of them.
One theory is that John’s dad is the narrator - John’s at home a lot for whatever reason, and so the constant and overbearing presence of his dad means that he can’t get him out of his head even when he’s alone, the commands at the top of each page reflecting John’s dad’s level of control over his son’s life. But I think this question is open ended enough that I’m not willing to commit to one theory yet. After all, we ‘examine 3rd and 4th walls of [John’s] room’ which is a directly meta allusion to the comic’s audience that only really makes sense if the narrator isn’t a character in the comic itself.
I think John Egbert has been really well characterized so far. He feels like a real kid, one who keeps getting off track and forgetting what he should be doing, but one who it’s enough fun to get to know that I don’t really notice. While the main character in media often doesn’t end up being the most interesting character, I do want to keep an eye on John because I think he has a lot going on to analyze. Above the style and the world and the mechanics, John as a character is the aspect of the comic I’m most interested in right now.

Questions for the demiromantic and demisexuals out there
Ok, so I've recently found this term thanks to an aroace character from a show I watched. I knew of the sexuality but I didn't really know the specifics because I always thought I was bi but now looking into it I didn't know how aroace was like a literal umbrella and there was so much more to it then meets the eye. Which I'm 30 I feel like I should know more than what I do. But with doing research into it trying to understand it better, I learned about all the terms, and I learned about demiromantic and demisexual and it really resonated with me. But I wanted to ask for advice, I guess? Like I like romance I love reading it seeing art and what have you but when it comes to romance for myself I'm not a big fan? And maybe it's because I literally have to unlearn so much romance equals a, b, and c when that's not really true. I literally been in only one relationship in my life and it consisted of hand holding small kisses (no tongue, honestly I have an ick with spit and the only reason I "wanted" to do deeper kisses with the boyfriend I had at the time was because I felt like it was a requirement) but I honestly didn't feel attraction towards him until after getting to know him and being friends with him for months well into almost a year. And he's the only one I ever felt that way for I hardly ever had crushes or when I did I almost kinda forced myself into having them if that makes sense? It was "natural," and every kid was supposed to have crushes. Nothing ever came from the "crushes" though.
Now, like I said, I'm well into my 30s, and the relationship I just mentioned was the only relationship romantic wise I've ever had. I have had strong feelings for two of the friends I have but one friend is straight as they come and the other is married lol the one that is married though we have a strong bond that I wouldn't trade anything for. She tickles my hand, and she lets me cuddle her all the time, and we just spend nights just playing games together, just like when we were in high school. I love her so damn much, and I'll cherish what we have even when we are both dead and gone. She is my forever person.
Sorry, I went into a mini rant about my platonic love, but she's the best, and when I start talking about her, I have to gush lol, but anyways back to my sexuality crisis
So anyways, when there is even a chance of someone having an interest in me, I honestly kind of freak out. Or like if someone tries to set me up with someone, red neon flashing warning signs pop up for me. I don't know that person, and honestly, I get put off by big romantic gestures. Like, I appreciate it, but I don't think it's necessary? Can we just go get McDonald's, sit in the parking lot, and just shoot the shit? Play some games? We can watch movies or shows too.
I've also been on the dating websites and such as well, and I'm just always immediately put off. "Hello beautiful," ugh. "Insert pickup line here." please God why. "Unsolicited romantic or sexual advances right after a day of talking." Haha, no. There was literally one guy I thought was cool and we kinda flirted but it was really just talking everyday about the games we were playing I feel like if given time a connection could of been built but he ended up finding someone else immediately. Which honestly was fine I was kinda bummed but like if he wanted romance immediately, I wasn't gonna be giving that to him. I wanted to still be friends, but apparently, we had "too much history," so he ended up blocking me. lol oh well.
I've also literally only have had two "crushes" in like in a 5 year time span (only because this is what I can remember lol) one of em was so goofy and seemed so fun but then it seems like they turned out to be very self absorbed instantly done the other had baby mama drama wasn't into that. Honestly, those things seem to be things that could be worked through? Maybe? But once I just see something off-putting, it's all I see, which seems more like a personal thing because of past traumas.
As of now I'm honestly content with no romantic relationship but I feel like I do want one but I don't want one with just anyone and it just doesn't seem like many people out there are willing to wait or willing to be friends first and want to hop into relationships immediately when I very much don't. It takes me a while to be comfortable with people, and I want to get to know them as a person.
For a long time I felt like I just wasn't doing things right or that I had to actually change something that I was doing. I thought I was wrong or that I should just force myself into the uncomfortable situation of being someone's girlfriend immediately but then if it turns out I just don't have those romantic feelings then there the whole process of hurting them which is just anxiety inducting.
Also, with all that I'm saying, it does go into the demisexual portion, too. I've still never been with someone sexually because even in the one relationship I have had, I haven't met someone I've trusted to give myself to. The thought of one night stands or anything of the like just makes me wanna crawl into myself. I don't mind anything sexual but I want to be with someone sexually that I trust and care about with my whole being, not some dude Craig or some chick Wendy from Tinder. I'm content with that, but a lot of the times, I'm almost made to feel bad because I haven't done anything sexual. But boy, can I read all the smut on Ao3. Like it all in theory, but dunno about in practice lol I just don't have much of a drive in general, but I don't know if that's just because I've never been with anyone before? I keep getting told, "As soon as you're with someone, your sex drive changes," and like, does that shit really happen? Lol
All in all, I really feel connected to the terms demiromantic and demisexual. Even when I just said I'm bi, it just never felt right, but for once, I feel like I finally found something that I felt connected to and finally found me. But I guess I also wanna feel like I'm right in assuming so? I dunno I feel like it'd be disrespectful in using a label that isn't really you? Which doesn't sound right because everyone has the right to find themselves, and sometimes people go through a list until they finally find themselves, which is what's happening to me right now. But my feelings also just get jumbled up and I have a hard time distinguishing what's been conditioned in me, like how you date, you get into a relationship, ya do couple things, then you get married ect. When all I wanna do is get to know you, really know you, then actually date but even then I feel like a lot of my stuff is more on the platonic end? Like, I like cuddling and kissing, and I do like romance but on a more tame level? I kick my feet when reading "he bought her all these extravagant gifts then he swept her off her feet and dipped her into a kiss" so cute but like if I was actually in that situation like bro put me down for real and I'm so awkward when given gifts lol
I dunno I'd just would really like to discuss this with others who have found themselves because I don't really have anyone else to talk to about this. I've talked to my friends and they of course support me and love me but I feel like they don't really get it? And my family just chalks it up to " Ya just don't have a lot of experience it'll all change when ya get out there and mingle with people"
Thanks in advance for reading all this if ya made it this far I know it's a lot of word vomit as I like to call it but I don't have very organized thoughts and I just kinda write what I'm thinking in the moment lol

I’m not sure how much a film enjoyer you are so this question may not land, but are there any stereotypical “film bro” movies (for example: fight club, the godfather, etc) OR any films that are generally dismissed as pretentious that you actually like?
I like movies quite a bit, but it's been a long time since I actually had the attention span to sit down and watch one outside of a cinema
filmbro opinions:
fight club is a genuinely great movie, but if anyone told me they think tyler durden is their role model i'd get a restraining order
i love Charlie Kaufman's storytelling style
inception is also great, i think it's the last chris nolan film i really enjoyed
donnie darko is fucking silly and not profound at all, and it's a very good movie anyway
american psycho - great movie! also very silly! but yeah we're running into the film bro problem of "hey why do a not insignificant number of your favourite movies involve a complete psychopaths in well fitting clothes doing sexy psychopath shit, what is up with that"
drive bored me to tears, i was so disappointed and i'm still mad about it
the shawshank redemption, also great
the usual suspects, brilliant
quentin tarantino has rightly earned his stature in Hollywood. he's exactly as good as every annoying asshole says he is
seven, also excellent, also fucking goofy
no country for old men, ugh what a movie. so silly. big silly baby man with the shooty shooty
mad max: fury road. here we go, a great movie that knows how goofytime sillyshow it is and leans into it so hard it's practically upside down by the end. I've only seen it once because I loved it so much the first time that I don't want to risk ruining that memory
the frighteners. just kidding, the filmbros haven't found that yet and they're not ready for it
films that should be added to the canon of filmbro movies your obnoxious cousin is obsessed with: mission impossible 3, mean girls, stardust, og jumanji, empire records

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks...
uhm yes!!! i love asks like this 🩵 thank you for asking. i’ll probably just do anime cause i haven’t watched anything else in awhile but black widow, loki and spider-man would be honorable mentions. also sorry this took sooooo long. also sorry i didn’t do 10 my brain doesn’t work the last few months.
levi ackerman- i love levi obviously. but one of my favorite things about him is the juxtaposition of his personality being that he’s incredibly kind-hearted && cares about doing what’s right while also being gruff and rude and cold. i think both sides of his personality being kind of opposite but also so truly who he is is really cool and way more interesting that a cookie cutter golden retriever hero. i also just love the way he carries himself and his overall demeanor, plus him being humanities strongest and although he’s confident in his abilities and doesn’t deny them he’s never arrogant.
megumi fushiguro- of course my top 3 boys are in this. megumi is similar to levi in the sense he has this more aloof demeanor while maintaining such a kind heart. megumi is interesting in the way he holds his values, saving people selfishly. i think he’s a bit morally grey in the sense that he makes decisions based on what he thinks is right rather than what everyone else thinks is right. but he also has this kind heart, and deeply cares for his friends.
satoru gojo- satoru is really such a complex character and people kind of see him as one note which i don’t think is true at all. satoru is the strongest, i think what immediately drew me to him is most characters in media i see like that are kind of like the opposite of his carefree/goofy personality and i found that cool to see right off the bat. he clearly cares about his students and wants what’s best for them, wanting to create a better society for them so that what happened to his best friend doesn’t happen again. that said, he’s also arrogant and cocky and doesn’t take shit. he’s very complex, i think he’s often mischaracterized because of his goofiness when i just think he has many layers and attributes and when looking at them all together he’s an extremely amazing character.
armin arlert- i’ve spoken about this before but armin is my second favorite aot character. i don’t talk about him often cause i don’t like simp for him. but from a purely character standpoint i love armin. his growth throughout the series and the way he sticks to his values throughout while also coming to be a leader is amazing to see. he was always loyal, kind, empathetic and genuinely cared about doing the right thing. plus that brain of his is fascinating.
rishe (7th time loop)- i know this is a romance anime, and it only just started but damn if i don’t wanna be her so bad. one of my favorite things about her is how absolutely badass she is while retaining her femininity. i often find that people are unable to write strong/capable female characters without making them masculine which isn’t a bad thing for woman to masculine but the implication that one is only strong because of masculinity is misogynistic. so i love rishe, she can do so much, she’s never afraid to stand up for what she believes in, and she can fight on her own yet she still likes to dress up and gets excited over jewelry and things.
zuko- idk if people consider atla anime but i love zuko and his entire arc throughout the show is probably one of my favorite arcs of any character. you could always tell from the very beginning that underneath that anger was just a kid who wanted to prove himself to his dad. i don’t think he was ever a bad person, and thank god he had iroh (honorable mention cause who tf doesn’t love iroh?) to remind him of that. but yeah, seeing his journey from villian to hero AND the journey of acceptance of himself was just amazing to me.
eren yeager- controversial probably but i think that eren was an extremely well written character from the very beginning. i won’t go into much detail for him but i think his arc from beginning to end is one of the best written arcs in fiction that i have yet to see. isayama did a great job of turning him into a villian.
other honorable mentions that i didn’t wanna write paragraphs for lol : hange, light yagami, vash, suki and sasha.

Hey there, it’s me again! Now my questions are:
1. Aside from “The Crow”, which Brandon Lee movie is your favorite and which one is your least favorite?
2. How did you get into “The Crow”?
3. Favorite movie in general?
4. Favorite actors in general?
HIII!!!! I LOVE YOU AND YOUR QUESTIONS YOU’RE THE SWEETEST!!!!
YOO this is a good question im gonna rank and review all the brandon lee movies now just cause i can..
1: the crow.. for obvious reasons my whole blog is dedicated to it
2: rapid fire!!!! so this is my favorite brandon lee movie apart from the crow. brandon didn’t get the chance to do a whole lot of movies but this one was actually really good!!! the action was soooo amazing (he choreographed it of course it's amazing) and the story was compelling.. its just a great movie overall i feel like it’s one of those movies you’d watch with your dad randomly just a feel-good action movie thats nice to watch. brandon was sooo charismatic and my favorite fun fact about this movie is that in the love scene, the actress he was doing it with didn’t wanna show her butt cause she had only agreed to show her top half nude. so you know what brandon did? he suggested that they should just show his ass instead! so the ass that’s shown in that scene isn’t hers it’s actually his and i find that so silly and so nice of him to do… don’t ask me the amount of times i’ve replayed that scene.. then there’s also the fact that while filming the scene his toe was broken and he was in a lot of pain and she kept accidentally stepping on it LMAOO poor guy..
3: showdown in little tokyo, now this movie was certainly.. interesting!!!! the amount of naked women in the first half had me flabbergasted but it was a pretty entertaining movie.. brandons character was really silly but it was fun to see him fight and a lot of questionable things were going on in this movie but pretty good what can i say! brandon’s the comedic relief in this one and he plays this wasian guy that’s out of touch with his japanese side and he’s the police partner of this white guy thats SUPER in touch with japanese culture cause he grew up there and yea its a goofy comedy action movie
4: legacy of rage, this one was actually pretty good, i loved hearing and seeing brandon speak cantonese. the only version of the movie that was easy to find was the english dub but that sounded so goofy so i spent HOURS searching for one where it was only subtitled and not dubbed and by the time i finally found it i was so mad… then as i was watching it kept BUFFERING a million times and it took me i kid you not 3 hours to get to the 40 minute mark of the movie ohhhh my blood was boiling.. but then i found another wesbite and everything went smoothly from there on. anyways my review of the movie was that it was pretty good, but the action didn’t really start until the end, so it was kinda slow.. also there were so many funny scenes.. brandon (who’s character is also named brandon for… whatever reason??) ends up being framed for a murder cause his best friend wants to bang his gf… then while in prison all of a sudden a bunch of white guys (ONLY white guys even though they’re in hong kong) start attacking him verbally and a bald bulky one screams ‘’EITHER YOU KISS MY ASS OR CALL ME PAPA!!!!!!!!’’ HUH????? I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD WATCHING IT HELP then brandon flips him off with his middle finger and all of the white guys JUMP HIM and then he gets put in solitary confinement.. then the white guys attack him again and a bald guy with an oddly square shaped head attacks him but he does cool martial arts moves and wins the fight.. he attempts to escape prison but fails and lalalalala. meanwhile his best friend who wanted to bang his gf tries to attack his gf but shes like no and this random old man thats in love with her take her to brazil?? and shes pregnant with brandons child btw. and yea a lot of shit happens… the movie was certainly an experience!!!
5: laser mission, this movie……………….. i don’t have any words.. i have no idea what was going on in it like genuinely. i love brandon SO MUCH but i couldn’t sit through this movie without skipping every 5 seconds.. i think there’s a reason brandon never liked to talk about it and apparently even forgot he was in it at one point cause what even was that.. although brandon’s charisma shone through and was the movie’s only saving grace, the bad script really ruined everything. but of course i rated it 5 stars everywhere just for brandon!!!3<3<3<3<3<3<3
6: kung fu: the movie, i havent watched it cause im scared of bald brandon lee. maybe i will one day who knows!!!!
-
2. i actually got into the crow not that long ago… i’d say a little less than a month ago??? even though i haven’t known this movie for a long time my love for it is immense and i’ve rewatched it more times than i can count. how i found out about it was that i was just scrolling on pinterest a long time ago… as one does… and i come across this photo
Tumblr media
and i’m like wwoooooaaaaaa… okay… wow… who’s this??? i do a little research and find out he’s from the crow, so i put that on my watchlist and the movie just sits there and rots along with a million other movies i’ve planned to watch but never gotten around to actually watching. then randomly one night i get this sudden urge to watch something and pick the crow out… and the rest is history!!!
3. this is a hard question… i have a ton of favorite movies from all different type of genres but one of them is.. despicable me. I KNOW IT’S SILLY but what can i say how can you NOT like minions? the storyline is also heartwarming and i love watching it with my little sister… another favorite is ‘’train to busan’’ it’s this korean zombie movie and it’s SO SCARY and SO GOOD and SO SAD it’s just amazing in every aspect… you really care for the characters and it makes me cry everytime i watch it.. another favorite of mine is ‘’grave of the fireflies’’. if you’re ever in a mood to cry your entire heart out and be depressed for at least a week this movie is for you. this is a studio ghibli film about japan in world war 2 and before i watched it i heard a ton about how sad it is but i never expected the SHEER AGONY i would be put through as i watched it. this movie is so so good but not for the faint of heart i assure you..
4. this is a hard one… SORRY I DON’T KNOWWW there’s so many i do love anya taylor joy she’s so uniquely beautiful… olivia cooke is amazing and yea there’s probably a million other actors i like but right now my brain is just: brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee brandon lee

I'd like to ask some questions from the Character Ask Game! ✨
Specifically numbers 1, 2, and 12 for Beetlejuice!
I hope these answers aren't too in depth, but I have ✨ thoughts ✨! I'm gonna try to keep this Musicaljuice specific because he's my favorite. 1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
There are a bajillion factors at play as to why I adore this weird little goober man. I always really end up loving the monster/supernatural entity/villain in most media I consume, so Beetlejuice perfectly fits that niche in my brain (occult brain go brrr). Like, yes, I love the demon by default. Of all of his iterations, Musical!Beetlejuice is my favorite. He's kind of a shithead, but he's entertaining. I want to see him succeed as much as I want to see him fail if that makes sense (also depends on if I'm watching the movie vs the cartoon vs the musical). Full disclosure, I never watched Beetlejuice 1988 until October of last year. The only reason I did was because I thought I should watch it/get context before watching the Brightman bootleg of the mucial I found. And uhhhhhhh I didn't really like it, which is weird for me (but I do enjoy it more now). All that's to say that the musical version of the character was more sympathetic and more fleshed out in a way that makes me both feel so so bad for him (mommy issues solidarity) while also wanting to punt him across a room (that might also be the cute-aggression though). My pathetic little meow meow. He does also give me the tiniest bit of Genie vibes? Love me the magical comic relief trope. Stellar. 10/10. No notes. Did I mention that he makes me laugh? It's the immature humor for me. It's the kind of low-brow goofiness that I grew up with (thanks, dad, ow I'm immature). This applies to all iterations, but mostly Musicaljuice and Toonjuice (the puns! I live and breathe puns!)
2. Favorite canon thing about this character? Mood ring hair. Even though he's not human, Beetlejuice just feels feelings so intensly as a demon that his emotions can literally change a part of his physical appearance. Whoever thought of this is a genius. I love this trope across media because there's something that's really appealing to me about a character giving in to their emotions in that way. Like, as much as Beetlejuice is a manipulative jerk, he can't really hide how he's feeling and that's a fun juxtaposition that has a lot of potential (forever crying that the mood ring hair is not utilized in the tour version). That, and I do love what people have done with this concept in fanfics/fan art.
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
I have so many! But one that doesn't leave my brain is that Beej is a big fan of swing music (and by extension swing dancing). I was going to make a mega post about this (and maybe I will eventually), but there are a few instances in the musical that contribute to this. Honestly though, it's really the energy and melodies associated with the genre that I naturally associate with Beetlejuice. As much as Beej has a rock-inspired motif going on with a lot of his songs in the musical, I like to think that a demon that old would have a hard time moving on from a genre like jazz and thus swing.

Caution and Care Pt. 4
Part 1: Link Prev: Link: Next: Link
First Word
After over a week of resting, eating, and getting plenty of sleep, Mad and Anti were on track to return to a healthy state. They caught up on their shows, started new ones, and watched plenty of movies. It was nice to be able to relax and not worry about anything. Henrik also created a seal for Anti’s broken horn, making the pain subside and allowing Anti to feel a lot more at peace without the constant pain.
But now, Mad's curiosity about the rest of the building was kicking in. He and Anti had stayed in the room the whole time, mostly speaking to only JJ and Henrik, with the occasional visit from Edward and Dark, but they didn’t really talk to the alphas much. Mad didn’t speak to them at all. He talked to the omegas and stayed silent around the alphas.
Regardless of his caution around the alphas in the building, Mad wanted-no-needed to know what was outside of the room.
It was the middle of the night when this need kicked in. Mad woke and found himself in a loose hold by Anti. He could tell Anti was fully out by the soft, almost snores.
“Anti?” Mad said to check, and when he didn’t get any reaction, he slowly slipped his way out of the bed.
Mad took silent steps, moving around the bed and to the door. He held the door handle and looked at Anit, waiting for any sign he had woken up. Anti was still. The only movement coming from his deep breathing. Mad opened the door and slipped out, holding the handle until the door closed to prevent it from clicking.
Mad chewed on his lip as he looked around, recognizing the hall and walking down it until he was in the lobby area. He wasn’t fully there when they got brought in, so some details were new to him. The lights were off, so he couldn’t really see too much of those details yet. Maybe he could find a flashlight or something like that. He could see pictures on the walls but couldn’t get a good look at who was in the pictures.
Mad moved further into the house and saw a light coming from an open room. Peeking in, he found the kitchen, and the light above the stove was still on. He couldn’t resist the urge to step into the kitchen and look around, a sweet craving hitting him as he found a container of Oreos. An excited purr rumbled in his throat as he peeled back the covering and took an Oreo, biting into it and freezing at the lights turning on.
“Oh! Hey man.” An alpha Mad didn’t know greeted. “You must be one of the omegas Dark found.” Mad slowly chewed and swallowed, watching the new alpha with wide eyes. The alpha was large and built like Wilford, muscles prominent behind his oversized Spider-Man shirt. He had a big toothy grin, and his horns were the same shade of light brown as his messy hair. “If you like Oreos, I know where Dark keeps the double-stuffed chocolate ones.” The alpha went to a different cabinet and dug around for a moment before pulling out a different Oreo container. “These things are perfect for anyone that loves chocolate.” He opened the container and took one of the Oreos before holding it toward Mad. “Dark won’t get angry at you for taking a handful, so if he asks, you had a couple extra.” The alpha chuckled and popped the Oreo he took into his mouth. “God, that’s good.”
Mad hesitated, watching the alpha eat one first before cautiously taking one from the container. He saw the alpha take another Oreo and stuffed it into his mouth, causing his cheeks to puff out a bit, and Mad couldn’t help from softly giggling at the sight. The alpha looked at him and smiled, chocolate crumbs covering his lips. Something about his calm yet goofy nature helped Mad’s fear, and he took a bite of the chocolate Oreo, perking up at the rich taste.
“Good, right?” The alpha asked, getting a head nod from Mad as he took a little handful of the Oreos. “I’m Jackie. I’m guessing you’re Mad?” Jackie’s question was answered with another head nod. “Dark said you don’t talk a lot and that’s totally fine. I can go on endlessly if you let me.” Jackie laughed, and Mad smiled. “Although, I’ll admit that I’m a little surprised to see you without Anti. I was told you two were attached at the hip. That must be really nice to have someone always by your side. Especially someone who is ready to bite everyone to keep you safe.” Mad smiled more and nodded before pausing to tilt his head to gesture at his horns and then to Jackie’s. “Um…oh! Are you asking if I have a mate?” Jackie’s chest puffed with pride when Mad nodded. “I mean, like, kind of?” He rubbed the back of his neck as a hint of pink covered his cheeks. “There’s someone I’ve been seeing, but it’s…I’m…” Jackie weakly laughed, and the pink became red. “You two will probably be taken out shopping soon.”
“Hm?” Mad made a confused sound at the sudden change in subject and what Jackie meant.
“You’re still wearing the spare clothes. Dark will probably be taking you two out to get a proper wardrobe or at least a start to one. Are there clothes you like? Designs or style? He’ll ask you all about it.” Mad tugged at the front of his shirt before pointing at Jackie's. “A man with great taste!” Jackie laughed loudly.
“Is everything alright in here?” Dark asked as he stepped in, pausing when he saw Mad. When he heard Dark's voice, Jackie had quickly handed Mad the Oreo container.
“Do you still have that Spider-Man shirt?” Jackie asked Dark. “The one I gave you with that whole buy one get one sale?”
“I do? It’s currently on my dresser. I was going to-”
“Sweet!” Jackie didn’t let Dark finish before taking off.
“Don’t touch anything else in there,” Dark called after him. “Did you get a late-night craving?” He softly chuckled, gesturing to the cookies in Mad’s hands. Mad couldn’t help the feeling of warmth on his face as he nodded and held the container toward Dark. “They are tasty.” Dark took an Oreo and bit into it. “You're welcome to help yourself to them whenever you please.” Mad softly smiled and swallowed.
“Thanks.” The word came out as a whisper, but it was enough to get Dark to straighten up and smile as well.
Mad spoke to him. He hasn’t said a single word to any alpha, and he spoke to him. It was one very quiet word, but that was a big step. It was clear that it was by the way Mad looked away, and his blush deepened.
“Got it!” Jackie practically skipped back into the kitchen and handed Mad a shirt. It was the same shirt Jackie wore. “First piece to your new wardrobe.”
“I’m not sure Mad would want that.” Dark hadn’t worn the shirt a lot, but he had worn it recently, meaning his scent was on it. “I can take it back if you’d like.” Mad shook his head and hugged the shirt. He’d been growing bored of the plain clothing he and Anti wore. He wanted some color, some design, anything. “You can keep it,” Dark said, hoping that maybe his scent wasn’t that strong on the shirt. He didn’t want to make it seem like he was pushing himself onto Anti and Mad. “How about we get you back to bed? I’m sure Anti wouldn’t like the idea of you walking around on your own.” Mad nodded in agreement and left the kitchen with Dark.
“Night,” Jackie said with a wave as they went.
Mad stayed at Dark’s side while they made their way to the lobby, taking a curious sniff of the shirt and his blush returning at a realization.
“Mad!” Anti gasped with relief when he saw Mad at the very end of the hall. He rushed over and yanked Mad into a protective hug, glaring at Dark. “Did you take him?”
“I found him in the kitchen eating Oreos,” Dark answered, understanding Anti’s worry.
“He was?” Anti sighed in relief and looked at Mad. “You went off without me?”
“I was curious,” Mad said.
“Next time, wake me up.” Anti’s scold was gentle. “Thanks for bringing him back.” He added to Dark.
“It was no problem at all. I’ll see you two in the morning.” Dark gave a light bow before walking off for his own room.
“I still can’t believe you snuck off like that.” Anti continued his scolding as he and Mad entered their room.
“Can you?” Mad asked with a giggle.
“Alright, you got me there, but I am shocked you went without me.” Anti crawled into the bed.
“I was worried you’d say no,” Mad admitted, getting into the bed with Anti.
“Like I could ever say no to you.” Anti giggled, pulling Mad closer to him and kissing his cheek. “What’s with the shirt?”
“It’s Dark’s.”
“Dark gave you his shirt?”
“Jackie technically did.”
“Jackie? Who’s Jackie?”
“An alpha.”
“You spoke to an alpha? Without me?”
“Less spoke to, and more make gestures with.” Mad curled up a little in embarrassment. “I still can’t talk to them…But I did manage to say thanks to Dark for letting me have some of his Oreos.”
“Of course, sweets had something to do with your first word to him.” Anti chuckled, kissing Mad’s cheek again. “So, how did you get the shirt?”
“Jackie said we’ll probably be able to go shopping for new clothes soon, and I liked the shirt he was wearing, and apparently Dark had one he wasn’t really wearing, and he let me have it,” Mad explained, holding the shirt up between them. “He smells like roses.”
“I thought I did.” Anti sniffed the shirt, unsure how to feel about how strangely…comforting Dark’s scent was. It did have a rose hint to it like Mad had said.
“You smell like lilies.” Mad corrected, nuzzling his nose to Anti’s neck.
“You seem to have a favor toward floral scents.” Anti chuckled, letting the shirt drop between them and wrapping an arm around Mad’s waist.
“A little.” Mad purred and kissed Anti’s neck, giggling at the feeling of Anti’s hand moving and squeezing his ass. “You’re definitely feeling better if you’re getting all touchy again.”
“The word you’re looking for is horny.” Anti guided Mad to lay down with him, Dark’s shirt tucked under their bodies.
“You’re always horny.” Mad teased, hands going under Anti’s shirt and lifting the fabric as he felt his body.
“Like you’re not the same.” Anti tugged Mad’s pants down, getting hit with the scent of his slick. Mad’s scents were strong, so even the smallest amount was easy to smell.
“I’m not that bad.” Mad kept one hand under Anti’s shirt while the other worked to get his pants off.
“Fair. I’m so much worse.” Anti pressed his hips to Mad’s, wrapping a hand around both of their cocks and getting them to groan.
“A-Anti~” Mad pressed the rest of his body to Anti. “It’s been so long.”
“It has.” Anti started moving his hand slowly. “But now I can take care of you.”
“I can-I can take care of you too.” Mad panted and started rocking his hips, adding to the friction and making them both moan.
“Yes, you can.” Anti knew they were both sensitive and felt his own slick forming as he worked his hand faster.
“Anti~!” Mad gasped, cumming while still moving his hips. Anti wasn’t surprised at all by how fast that was, nor was he shocked when it wasn’t too long after that he was tensing up and cumming as well. “I…I missed…I missed this feeling.” Mad purred between breaths, trying to hug Anti as close to him as possible.
“Me too. I’ll be sure to let us have it more often again.” Anti kissed Mad’s forehead.
“Does that mean we’re going to stay stay?”
“If Dark allows us to. We will.”
“I’d like that a lot.”
“I know.”

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks...
No I don’t mind at all!! I’ve never been asked this question before and it’s really interesting so of course I’ll answer! <3
Btw this is anime only bc I only watch anime/read manga :)
1: Feitan
I love Feitan honestly bc he’s cool, hot, strong and just generally awesome. I love his personality and how fearless he is. He’s number one even though they’re were many before him because I’m crazy about him and he’s just generally my all time fav. He isn’t a “phase” I love him all the time think about him all the time..FOR YEARS.
2: Aizawa
I found out about him way before Feitan and was the original number one..BUT I don’t love him any less. He’s honestly just so cool and I thought he was as soon as I saw him. He has such a calm yet self assured and strong demeanor to him. I admire him in a sense, he has morals and sticks to them. He’s also once again, strong. He cares for his loved ones and manages to be cool and a green flag- not something all anime guys can do.
3: Izuku
Izuku is under Aizawa bc I literally started loving him directly after lol. I love him with all my heart. He’s just so determined and realistic/relatable in a sense. He strives for his goals and doesn’t give up. It’s admirable. He has such a kind heart and is a green flag. Tsu should honestly be up here bc she’s the first ever anime character I found out a about but I love izuku more- osusndkjnsjd-
4: Luffy
If I knew him for longer he would be higher. I got into one piece just recently but I still love him very much. He’s such a cool and silly guy he does no harm and is selfishly selfless. What an odd balance of getting what you want and bringing happiness. Essentially what he wants is for people (specifically his loved ones) to be happy and will stop at nothing to bring that to them. Truly only has good intent. Also who doesn’t like freedom and liberation?? This guy literally stands for that!! He stand for those who don’t have a voice and that’s so cool to me! I’m so proud of him in that sense. I also love his silly goofy vibe despite the worlds cruel ways. It’s refreshing and makes one piece a less depressing place since in a sense we’re pretty much seeing one piece from his prospective. If we saw things how zoro or law sees it, it may be a lot more realistic, a bit more drab and plain in sight. That’s my take on it anyway.
5: Katsuki
katsuki’s character development is top tier. (Spoiler) I’m not talking about him dying. I’m talking about how he went from telling Izuku to ky$ and mistreating him and others to viewing people as equals/something more than competition, apologizing and atoning for his mistakes. He did something even most grown men/women can’t do these days..smh. He even did it better than endeavor. 😂 I also like how strong he is and how much he believes in himself. It’s only a problem because of the way he expresses that but if he was simply confident I feel he’d have less haters.
6: Fyodor
honestly he just freakin cool dude! Like he’s a genius, he’s attractive and he’s got a cool/mysterious power. I like when anime characters are a different race in Japan, it just makes things more fun. I love him for his imperfections too. I saw someone talk about how (spoiler) Fyodor wouldn’t have died if he just trusted his friends/allies more. I like that about him too. It makes space for character development and realization if he lives.
7: Atsushi
I first started watch bsd a long time ago. I remember loving the first ep so much. I really like how atsushi met dazai- lol. It was all really unique and there was no overused troupes. New, fresh, stuff you wouldn’t expect. I mean unless it’s mc hating on themselves..but I didn’t dislike atsushi for it or anything. Idk why I just didn’t, I’ve loved him since he first appeared on screen. I’ve always thought he deserved better. He’s such a kind hearted character and his mental and physical strength developed well. He doesn’t have any love interests either! It makes me happy when it’s straight plot and no canon romance in anime. Honestly I just love how sincere and genuine Atsushi is.
8: Nikolai
At first I both liked and disliked him at the same time. But then again I kinda simped for him so I did research (fandom, and when he got animated) and now i love em. I really love silly characters with inner problems that they project onto different things (emotions; for Niko). It gives they’re character deeper meaning than just being a silly guy. Yeah that’s fun but it gives you more to think about this way. I think his design is very cute and fun! At first I did expect to have a higher pitched voice but as time went on I realized two things. One: his voice actually fit him and I only didn’t like it at first because it didn’t meet my imaginary standard. Two: he’s a grown man, and while it’s possible, especially with anime logic, it’s more realistic this way and I’m glad his voice isn’t high pitched now.
9: Portgas D Ace
now I absolutely love Ace and while I he’s my number 2 in one piece, over all anime’s he ranks a little lower but he’s def still up there. Again I’m still in the impel down arc so his backstory n stuff is coming up for me, so when I say he needs more screen time I mean besides that. He’s an attractive man who worked on himself from a young age to be polite and respectful, he’s very friendly as well. I love and respect all that about him. He’s another silly guy but in a different way. Idk I honestly just like him, idk how to explain it this time. He’s just cool!!
10: Saiki k
I didn’t know whether to put brook or tokito here. I would’ve gone with tokito because I’ve been watching kny longer but I feel I like him more? Saiki k is a really interesting anime. It’s a comedy anime in a regular and relatable setting but with a spin; superpowers. This gives the anime more chances for funny moments and comedy. With saiki’s attitude of wanting to be normal as well? Perfect! Saiki is honestly still relatable even with powers and is not a simp. Which I really like about him, He probably wouldn’t be on this list if he got with someone. In fact he avoids what could be love interests and that makes it even more funny. I’m glad he doesn’t give in and give us the traditional wife, babies and sunset ending. 🤦‍♀️
brook isn’t on the list but top 10 is NOT easy to choose..I also wanted to add tokito but again top ten is so limiting </3😔

Stu Macher Fluff Oneshot
@veneaq
This took a lot of "procrastinating"
Matchups: CLOSED, if you send me on at this moment it will be deleted.
(Also "Little Lady" is just smth he says kinda like honey or beautiful.)
Before you even knew Stu, you had met Billy. You and Billy were close, but not enough to where he would tell you his secrets, specifically about the one having to do with Stu. Now, you and Stu weren't the closest, well until...You had met in English class because he tapped you on the shoulder, begging you to help him with one of his overdue assignments. You thought it would just be him asking you a few questions about the assignment and then he'd leave you alone...You were sorely mistaken.
Right after class ended he walked over to you, asking you if you'd be alright coming over to his house to help him with the assignment, it wasn't like you'd never been to his house before, you had actually gone to multiple parties at his house and once you even dropped by to give something to Billy.
You agree to his request, asking him what time you should arrive, but to your surprise, he offered to drive you instead.
"So! How's your day been." Stu stares at you, awaiting your response.
"My day has been good, what about you?" Stu smiles at you, a goofy grin on his face.
"My day was really good!" He says, looking back at the road. "Anyways, I was thinking, maybe do you wanna get some video tapes or some snacks before we go to my house?"
"I- sure?" You didn't know how to feel about his offer, it wasn't like you two were best friends or like you were about to hangout and watch a movie. So you just decided to go with it and before even 5 minutes passed, you had arrived at the store. Stu turns to you with a goofy expression on his face, winking at you.
"Ya ready, lil lady." Without even opening the car door he climbs over the door, jumping onto the sidewalk. When you walk inside with him he immediately grabs you and takes you to the candy section, asking you about what types of candies you like. After you picked out some candies, he dragged you to the chips area and after that he took you to the drink aisle. By the time you left the store, Stu had bought two giant bags of both drinks and snacks. (He does tend to overdo it sometimes)
The drive to his house after that was short and quiet, only music playing from a mixtape that he played on repeat constantly to and from school. The road to his house was rocky, making the car shake as Stu crept the car into the driveway.
"So, what do you think of my house! Ya like it!" He gets out of the car, grabbing the bags from the trunk before guiding you to the front door. As soon as he opened the door he guided you to the living room, he dropped the bags next to you and then went upstairs, when he came down he was holding his English book and a random historical book. Walking over to you, sitting down next to you on the couch. "I got the project started but I wasn't sure what to do next, can you help me?"
"Yeah, sure. Is this the book you picked to write about?" For a moment after you finished talking he didn't say anything and when you looked over at him, he was staring directly at you. After a few minutes he realized he was staring and began to feel embarrassed as he tried to find an answer to your question.
"Um...Yeah" Was followed up with "It was just a random book I found laying around and I figured I could use it."
"Oh ok, you should be able to just record the dates of each event in the book and write a few paragraphs on each part."
"Really? I already did that, I just assumed that there would be more to do on this assignment." "..., I know this is a strange offer but would you be interested in hanging out with me even though I don't need your help with the project, I've been wanting to watch a new horror movie with Billy but he's been busy."
"Ok!." Stu went to get the movie, leaving you to grab so snacks for the two of you to share.

I WATCHED THE FNAF MOVIE!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Alright time for my honest thoughts on the fnaf movie? Honestly..? I enjoyed it, I think some of the problems I have with a lot of newer fnaf games/media shine through but overall I think it was a solid movie. There’s some things I would’ve done differently personally but it wasn’t bad. I’m okay with it being our fnaf movie. I have a few things as a diehard fnaf fan since the first game that I am a little salty or upset about, but it’s not really the movie’s fault. It’s kinda just how fnaf is nowadays. Some for the better, some for the worst. So some pros (in my opinion. Keep that in mind and if you did really enjoy it that’s great! Like I said it’s a pretty solid movie I just have a frustrations with it or questions about it).
Pros!
I really liked all the characters I think the writing was pretty strong for the most part! A few parts were a little shaky but for the most part I really liked all the characters we got. I liked the characterization of the animatronics especially. I know a lot of people are complaining about “the pillow fort scene” but I actually liked how they did that. I can understand where are coming from with that (i could admittedly see how for some people it takes away from the horror aspect for later scenes) but I like that they gave the animatronics childlike behavior and made them a little sympathetic. I thought it was really cute. I get where people are coming from with that but tbh I think fnaf fans villainize the dead kids WAY too much. So it was nice to have them acknowledge them being kids and acting like that.
The visuals and set were GORGEOUS!!! This cinematically had some really strong scenes and I could gush about the practical effects for hours. The animatronics looked beautiful and I have almost no complaints visually about it. I also liked some of the YouTube cameos and how they weren’t too in your face. The only one I found kind of immersion breaking was matpat’s to be honest. Just cause his line felt kind of forced but it was a quick cameo so I can forgive that. Truthfully I didn’t even realize it was him till he said that so.
William fucking Afton bro.. Oh my god when I tell you Matthew Lillard absolutely ate this role up.. like my god. I knew he was gonna be good but he was absolutely iconic. He’s probably one of my favorite depictions of William Afton to date. His delivery, his mannerisms. It was (chef’s kiss). The springlock suit (WHICH ILL BE SO FR I DID NOT THINK THEY WERE GOING TO PUT THE SPRINGLOCK SUIT IN THE MOVIE MY JAW DROPPED WHEN THAT HAPPENED) scene is probably one of my favorites in the movie. When Cassidy(?) watches him just like dying and closes the door on him. Chills. I though that whole part was really well done. I wish the springlock sounds were a little louder but regardless I think they found a way to capture the horror of the springlocks while not making it too intense. Some people will find that as a con but I personally think it’s a pro because I would say this movie is a general audience film. There’s some very disturbing or unsettling parts but I think this is actually somewhat of a good gateway to horror film for younger audiences.
As goofy and kinda dumb as the cupcake looked at times I honestly love that he got so much screen time. I love that guy. Cupcake is underrated even if a bit silly.
I lost my shit when the FNAF 1 song played at the credits. I was SO excited. I’m really happy for TLT that his music got up on the big screen too. I cant imagine how cool that is.
Now for in my opinion what the cons are:
My biggest issue with this movie is the plot. And I know a lot of people are going to say “it’s a different timeline!” Or “it’s based on the books”. I would have no problem with that except for the fact that we still know nothing about the Afton family after all these years. I was really hoping (although I was aware it was going to be a different storyline) they would’ve kept Abby, Michael, and Garett Aftons. Because even if I just isolate the movie itself from the games, it just makes more sense. The way William acts when he first reads Mike’s name, The fact William would’ve had to gone out of his way to go to Nebraska and specifically target Garett. The film takes place in Minnesota, the pizzeria is there. Why is William Afton in Nebraska? It doesn’t make sense. Now, the only OTHER explanation I can think of for this is that Michael, Abby, and Garret are Emilys or the movie’s Emily equivalents. Even though I have some problems with this I will say I don’t entirely hate Vanessa being an Afton in this. It’s an interesting idea and the dynamic is alright. Truthfully I wouldn’t have a problem with any of this but this is a problem that I keep having with FNAF as a whole. FNAF keeps actively refusing to acknowledge any Afton that isn’t William (and sometimes Elizabeth in the books). And I don’t understand why? I don’t understand the aversion especially considering Michael was the protagonist for so many of the games. He is SUCH an interesting and important character and I was so deeply disappointed to find out he wasn’t an Afton in this universe because we finally had some kind of characterization of him (that I really loved tbh). I think it’s just frustrating as a longtime fan there are so many questions that go completely unanswered for no reason. Knowing things like the crying child’s name is something that has no real relevance on the plot and yet we still are refused a direct answer. I don’t mind a bit of mystery but when it’s been almost a decade and we still know nothing about half the games’ main protagonist. I have a little bit of an issue with this tbh. I wasn’t actually expecting this movie to have Mike and Abby be Aftons actually, but the way WATCHING the movie led me to start to believe that got me excited. Maybe that’s just a me problem.. Then the reveal happened and I was left kind of scratching my head. I think FNAF does that a lot, to me at least.
I also think having Vanessa be an Afton, although interesting is kind of a disservice to her character. Vanessa is a character I have found really interesting since she was first announced. I don’t have an issue with her being in this movie at all. In fact I really liked her in this movie. If you’re gonna do a different timeline thing then that’s fine. But I think it’s kind of a disservice to her to make her an Afton, I like the idea of there being another fnaf character who stands on her own. I wish in security breach they kept alot of the FNAF:AR stuff cannon that was established. I feel like they did nothing with her character in Security Breach which SUCKED because I think her whole character is so interesting and I would’ve loved to have seen more of a characterization of her in this movie. I hate this idea of making everyone related to Afton it feels lazy. The theories with Vanessa and Gregory being Aftons I really don’t like. They’re fine characters on their own, if you want to focus on Aftons then just focus on the Aftons! There’s so many questions unanswered about them that you easily could still do something with them. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again I have no problem with Security Breach existing EXCEPT that it should be it’s own story with no relation to the old storyline. It could’ve been a really solid Sci-Fi type game especially with the DLC that came out. Afton shouldn’t be there.
I keep talking about this problem with ‘modern day fnaf’ so what is it? What is the problem that affects even this movie? Well I’ll tell you, FNAF constantly changes. Things are things added to the lore making it more confusing and convoluted (which to be fair has been a problem wayyy before SB even with some of my favorite titles in the series), and imo it makes it almost impossible for new fans to join. As an older fan who is fairly active indulging in FNAF I can barely can keep up. I know a lot of people like the convoluted and insane lore and to some extent so do I. But it’s gotten to the point where I feel a little bit of disappointment after each game and a little after the movie. I’m okay with mystery and theorizing, in fact it’s one of my favorite parts about FNAF! But having been here for so long and I still feel like we never get any answers or we’re ALWAYS left with more answers. It gets frustrating. I don’t want everything to be answered but lately every FNAF game and piece of media has left me with more questions than answers. To the point I think it affects the main plot. I also want to say it’s very hard to keep up with everything. I don’t have the money for the books or the time to read all the books and I don’t understand the whole “it’s not canon to the game lore but we’re gonna put it in there anyways!”. I don’t know. To be honest I wouldn’t have AS much as a problem with it if it was actually separate, but even though it’s stated to be it keeps seeping into the game storyline. I don’t necessarily think it’s bad to bring something like the mimic in, but it’s kind of upsetting when I watched the movie and felt there were more references to the books than the games. I was disappointed there was no ‘hello? Hello?’ Or freddy nose honk, or just a few things that are really iconic to the game. I thought the sparky being canon thing was awesome though! That was a real treat. But I do think the silver eyes was a good idea to take inspiration from. But again I also don’t understand why they wouldn’t just make a silver eyes movie? Idk I guess it’s just frustrating having been here so long and if someone asked me to explain FNAF there’s really no way of giving a set summary. Hell, even most of the “lore” explanation videos half of it isn’t even canon or confirmed. It’s just speculation or ‘a theory’. I love this franchise a lot and I guess it’s just kind of upsetting for it to be a struggle now to understand and keep up with everything. Especially when I used to find it really fun to try and do so, and now I just feel like there’s no payoff to it. And that it’s just way too confusing and overwhelming. Maybe there never really was a payoff? Or maybe it always an issue? I mean FNAF has had like 4 different ‘endings’ and then kept going. Idk I think just.. having been waiting for this movie for 8 years and it leaving me with a somewhat similar feeling after I finished security breach, I’m a little disappointed. That being said…
I will say, overall the movie itself was a little better than i expected to be honest. Which I’m very happy about My expectations for this movie were to have a good time and have a fun campy horror flick. I pleasantly surprised in a lot of areas and most of my gripes with it are kind of just my gripes with how fnaf has been as a franchise. All my criticisms of this movie and franchise are out of love and wanting the best for this series. Seriously, this series means the world to me. Most of my really close and best friends I met through FNAF, and some of my fondest memories are FNAF related. Even if the movie and franchise aren’t perfect and I have a lot of frustrations with it, I’m glad after 8 years of hearing about this movie I finally got to see it. Kid me would be absolutely over the moon right now. A part of me is. Despite its flaws I’m really proud to see how much this franchise has grown. FNAF you’re not perfect, not even close, but you mean a lot to me. Im glad you made it to the big screen after all this time :>

There's something so strangely beautiful about platonic soulmates who express romance through their art. This duality, this ability to exist in two different worlds, one of romance in their performances and one of platonic friendship in their personal lives is such a beautiful paradox.
Before I found out about Tessa and Scott, the only pair I knew as a child growing in an Asian household was Kajol-Shah Rukh Khan. Plot twist! They weren't a romantic couple but were platonic partners. Here's a little bit about them before we dive into the fun thread (I don't know what they call 'threads' in Tumblr, I'm a twitter user trying to figure out Tumblr. lol)
Kajol and Shahrukh Khan, a pair synonymous with Bollywood royalty, first graced the silver screen together in 1993 with ‘Baazigar’. Over three decades (30 years), they have starred in seven films, each a testament to their electric chemistry and enduring appeal.
Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Canada’s cherished ice dancers, began their journey together when she was just seven and he was nine. For 22 years, they glided across the ice carving stories of passion, precision, and grace. Their performances, including two Olympic gold medals, have not only won them accolades but have also captured the essence of a partnership that is both powerful and poetic.
You find your platonic soulmate squishable!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dancing like, "I think I'm madly in love with you, I'll die for you" when they can't actually wait for it to end to laugh and say, ‘Isn’t it hilarious how everyone think we’re a couple?’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you know that you and your bestie became that power couple who took figure skating to new heights/single handedly introduced Bollywood to the world. Ufff... when you know you bring people to their feet by maximizing that joint slay!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you know that your nation literally calls you-all sweethearts and you had an entire nation believe that you are married when in reality she/he was your platonic bestie. Sorry hopeless romantics! I'm new to Scott and Tessa here because I'm not Canadian but trust me, every kid in the 2000s in South Asia grew up thinking that Kajol and Shah Rukh were married. It's so funny that even the costars (who are younger than them) of their last movie too thought that they were married when they were just children watching them on screen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You find joy in trying to make people uncomfortable and confuse them by telling them, "We're not a couple!" for the millionth time because people refuse to believe that you're not in love with him/her. It was probably exhausting for them to answer that question, but I think a part of them enjoyed the mystery that their relationship created in the minds of people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you get a sweet little kiss from your bestie who is pretending to be your girlfriend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let's be goofy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you know that you still love him/her even after all those years and even though you don't perform together. Reunions are always sweet!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You are so annoying, but I love you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For those who have no idea about Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol (especially if you aren't Asian), I would love to recommend 'My name is Khan' , Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and of course the iconic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.
Bonus: For all the desi girls and boys who were fooled by them!

What are the top 5 shows you would recommend to people?
Okay that's an excellent question! Most if not all might be cartoons so brace yourself lmao.
Ever since I've watched Transformers Animated I've made it my mission to make as many people as possible get into it. It's like if Transformers mixed with Teen Titans. It's great! Maybe I'm biased because Prowl was my first f/o lol.
Someone I knew suggested I watch Tuca and Bertie, and I'm glad they did. It's a wonderful adult cartoon. It's hilarious and it makes a an excellent use of the adult medium to tackle serious subjects. I actually really relate to Birdie most of the time, and even Tuca in some ways.
Actually I'm rewatching Sonic X right now and it's so charming so far and I had to add it. It's corny, it makes great use of the Sonic Team, and it has a lot of Looney Tunes-esque gags. So many platonics in that show. I started for Shadow and so far my favorite is Amy. Unfortunately it hasn't aged the best in certain places
Oh my god. Now's my chance. Nobody talks about this but. Dr Katz Professional Therapist. It's an adult cartoon from MTV in the 90s and it's all on youtube for free. It's kind of unique in it's humor, much like Home Movies(which i couldn't actually bring myself to finish but that's another story), the characters don't really sound like they have much of a script and they stutter a lot and the dialogue just feels very natural and it's so charming. And his patients are basically popular comedians of the time doing their little stand up acts and it's super neat because my favorite comedian Brian Regan was in it!!! It even has a perfectly cut scream in one of the episodes. Got me to cackle on multiple occasions. Dr Katz is actually a parental f/o of mine too.
I had a couple of others I was indecisive about what to pick for the last one. But I had just remembered the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared show! I recommend this ONLY for people who are into horror though. It can get a little intense, albeit not as intense as the original shorts. And the humor keeps it from being too disturbing for sure. I found their situation to be strangely relatable, and I love the wacky humor and the dark spin on a children's media that isn't overly edgy and is genuinely fun. Besides I've had this scene stuck in my head.
Honorable mention: It wasn't a show so I couldn't really put this in anywhere, but I highly recommend the new Mickey Mouse shorts that began in 2013. It's a fresh spin on the Disney characters, has incredibly quotable humor on the level of that of Spongebob, and has so many loving obscure references to other Disney properties. Sometimes the shorts will be pretty standard but with this extremely out of pocket moment, but sometimes they'll just be entirely bizarre. My favorite is the one where Mickey and Donald construct and entire potato themed Disneyland for Goofy. I also have an f/o from there too but shhhhh
