as much as I love the common "Tim worships/stalks Jason" trope in TimJay fanfiction because it's Good and making Tim a weird little freak is Fun, I think the underutilized dynamic is where Jason is the one weirdly obsessed with Tim and makes it Tim's problem.

Like, the moment Jason is confronted with the information that a third Robin exists, the first thing he does is cover his wall with pictures of Tim so he can just obsess and torture himself over it. That is the behavior of a man who is Unwell over Tim's existence and I love it.

And as much as a shitshow as The Titans Tower Incident™ is characterization-wise (though I think it has far more merit in depicting Jason's character than people give it credit for but I digress-) there's something very fun about the fact that even after kicking his ass, Jason respects Tim and is impressed by him.

And on top of that, Jason can't seem to stop trying to ask Jason to Tim to work with him in some capacity.

batman: battle for the cowl #2

While Battle for the Cowl is an exceptionally bad comic, especially for its characterization of Jason and the "be my Robin" bit is taken deeply out of context, I do think it's interesting how obsessed Jason is with believing that Tim is extremely competent, only held back by being "brainwashed by Bruce". (hence him leaving Tim for dead later on in the comic.) Jason seeing a darker side of Tim and wanting to bring that out of Tim, wanting to see what Tim could be if he let go of his loyalty to Bruce is so fun to me, tbh.

And in Robin #177, Jason seems genuinely upset Tim doesn't want to work with him. Jason sees such a raw potential in Tim and is obsessed with it, constantly wanting Tim to work for him and see Tim be the type of person Jason is. And despite Tim rejecting him, Jason doesn't shoot to kill Tim. I just cannot get over the fanfic potential of Jason obsessing over Tim, tracking him and seeing what he's capable of and what he could be capable of. Wanting to make Tim see things the way he does. To Tim it's corruption, to Jason it's freedom. Tim trying to 'save' Jason is fun and all, but Jason trying to corrupt Tim? That's even more fun to me. Watching that power struggle between them, Tim unable to get Jason off his heels as Jason gets more and more possessive and bold with each attempt.

And when Jason sees Tim successfully get Gotham back under control after a gang war, he's impressed. He praises Tim, even. And then Tim just. Breaks him out of prison.

robin (1993) #182

The way they're constantly trying to see something in the other that isn't there, hoping the other will come around? That is the most fucked up hate/love dynamic ever. Jason keeps coming back to Tim, keeps trying to find ways to get Tim onto his side. They're always chasing each other. And I think Jason would be the one to confess love first, the one to do anything to make Tim his. And when you consider after all of this, Tim has his Red Robin arc and is at his lowest, getting the closest he ever gets to considering murder? I think it'd be so fun to see Jason take advantage of that and worm his way back into Tim's life and finally push Tim over the edge.

I’m genuinely so fucking sick of the “you all would have loved it if it was Eddie who made that comment” take.

First of all, Eddie wouldn’t have made comment then, bc he knows how hard it is for Buck to talk about his emotions, & is REALLY good at giving him the space to talk about them, even if he does make jokes, they’re not out of pocket (the coming out scene, anyone? Breaking the tension with a joke & still being supportive without making a joke of his feelings.)

Secondly, even if Eddie DID make that comment, I’d probably still roll my eyes, but I’d be more willing to accept it. Do you wanna know why???

Who was the person that knew the details of what Buck was talking to his therapist about during their emergency session before the Buckley’s visit? Who is the first one they show at Buck’s side when he gets stuck in the warehouse trying to pull Saleh out after learning about Daniel?? Who is the one who was pacing downstairs in the station & making sure Buck was okay after the warehouse, and the one who warned him about his visitors??

Who was the one praying at Bobby’s bedside, right next to Buck in the hospital?

(I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the dude that’s had 10 minutes of fucking screen time that everyone forgot about post s1.)

It wouldn’t have been the same bc TOMMY AND EDDIE ARE NOT THE SAME. They are not on the same level of knowing Buck & understanding when to make jokes & what jokes to make. Your best friend, partner & co-parent of 6 years and the man that you haven’t even called your boyfriend yet are not on the same level of familiarity.

Ended up pirating all of Hazbin for the sake of my younger days (used to be a fan when I was around 14/15, before all the stuff with Viv came out) and I am so surprised by how I felt... nothing for the most part. Like a lot of the show's storylines feel like they was crammed in there with no real pacing. A lot of this should have been season 2 territory, which is a sentiment I've seen echoed around, but also... it feels as if the show is trying to be episodic while also having a long narrative thread, which just doesn't work with just 8 episodes. Especially not when paced like this. So I kinda ended up feeling nothing for the most part. All the events got a "Oh, great, so what?" reaction out of me because there was little to no buildup to most of them.

Sir Pentious was always a fave of mine so I was glad to see they kept him around and, though I think we should have had more episodes with him as a villain, I think how he ended up was fitting for what little of an arc he had. I am livid about what they did to Cherri and Mimzy.

I fucking loved Mimzy, I have no idea why they sent her away -- having someone like her at the Hotel would have been a blast considering how the others are already on the road to redemption. She would have balanced it out by being a regular sinner, someone who doesn't care about redemption and won't probably ever care unless it's in her best interests to. Plus her friendship with Alastor was quite cute, they bounce off of each other very well imo. Plus I could see her have a bit of a conflict with both Charlie and Vaggie because of her ways of acting. I'm so sorry they took that from you girlboss.

And Cherri... dear lord where WAS she? She should have been a lot more present. I used to like her relationship with Angel and I even think Cherrisnake is cute conceptually, but both these relationship had... little to no room to breathe imo.

Haruka: Oh no, that's okay. It's just, I was wondering why aquarium all of a sudden. Ai: Oh, I haven't explained it properly huh. Just now I got two tickets to an aquarium from someone at work. Ai: We're probably going to be involved again in the future, so I thought it'd be good if I go and use it to mantain a good relationship with them. Haruka: (So that's what it is… But still, is it really okay to go together with me…?) Ai: …It's perfectly okay for you to go with me. What were you thinking just now were all over your face y'know. Haruka: Ehh!? Ai: The way you didn't even realize it yourself is also quite interesting. As expected, you're the perfect person for my observation. Ai: My hobby is observing people after all. Ai: Look, unlike seal that one had a flappy ears… wait. If you keep bowing your head down like that you're going to bump into the glass y'know. (back to story) Haruka: (Wah, Mikaze-senpai suddenly put his hand on my shoulder…) Ai: Your body temperature suddenly rising up. Your cheeks also look flushed. What's wrong? Haruka: Eh!? N-no, it's nothing. Ai: You can't fool my eyes. I told you before that I'm also going to be observing you, didn't I? Ai: Right now I want to know how your feelings and what exactly are you thinking right now.

I've already gathered all of the data of the creatures here. Ai: The ones in the tank over there are a moon jellyfish, japanese sea nettle, and the one with a blue color was called color jellyfish. Haruka: Wow, their colors are all beautiful… Ai: Other than blue, there are also other color jellyfish with different colors too, such as red, white, and even green. They tends to change their body colors depending on their environment. Ai: …They're just like you, whose expressions tends to change all the time. You're so flustered just a while ago, and yet now you're smiling. Haruka: I'm pretty restless, huh… it's so embarrassing. Ai: Look, it changed once again. As expected you are really worth to analyze. Good work. Here's a coffee. Haruka: Thank you so much. Wow… it smells so good. Ai: Sugar and milk are self-service. You could at least add that by yourself. Haruka: Yes, thank you! Well then, time to drink. (choices) <It has a gentle taste...> Haruka: It has a very gentle taste… Ai: Hmm, I'm glad you enjoy that. But… a gentle taste, huh. Ai: Even though it was quite an abstract comment, why do somehow it actually sounds delicious just now. <I feel cheered up now!> Haruka: It's as if my tired mind and body seems to be delighted by it. -Ai's Room- Ai: When I first started as an idol, I thought it's fine if I just let people listen to my song. Ai: I guess you could call it as a sense of duty. Because I thought that singing was the only thing that I have to do. Haruka: Mikaze-senpai… Ai: But right now I can't be satisfied with just that. I want to put all of my feelings into the lyrics and my voice, and I hope that it would reach to the hearts of the people who listen to them. Ai: To me, music is what made me connected with everyone. I want to make a lot of people smile just with my song. Haruka: …I feel the same way too. Haruka: I want everyone who listen to my song to smile. That's what came to my mind while I write a song. Ai: Are you saying that we're actually similar? How mysterious, somehow that words made me happy. Haruka: Me too! Thank you for letting me hear your story.
