"I have nothing to wear."
"Just pick something!"
"Like what? Nothing works!"
Uh-oh. Link didn't like that tone you were using.
He was wondering what was taking so long for you to get ready. He had planned to that you to the festival in Castle Town but this was something that he didn't expect. You were usually faster than this.
"What do you mean?" Link asks gently. He thinks he can guess what's wrong. "Can I see what you have?"
You had mentioned wanting to get something new for the special occasion but he had yet to see what you had chosen. You wanted it to be a surprise.
"...Yes. You can come in."
Oh dear, you really mustn't be feeling well if you're willing to ruin said surprise.
Link sighs and walks in. You're holding up a dress to yourself in the mirror. Two different options lay on your bed, waiting to be tried on. Or rather, have already been tried on and rejected.
"I like this color." You say, defeat coloring your tone. "But I don't like the way my shoulders look in it."
Link tilts his head. He can't see anything wrong with it, but he knows that's not what you need to hear. "What about the other ones?"
"Those were back ups." You pout, tossing the new outfit onto the bed with reckless abandon. "But I don't want to wear those tonight."
Link bite his tongue in thought. He didn't think there was anything wrong with the outfit or with your shoulders. It wasn't even on his mind.
"Try it on for me anyway." He finds himself saying. "At least let me see you in it."
"Ok, fine." You sigh, a little disappointed in yourself. Link can see it and he won't stand for it.
He steps out of the room momentarily so you can change.
You step out as well with the clothes on moments later. Link feels his breath leave his chest. You're beautiful.
But he can see already that your insecurities are beginning to take over. You give him a halfhearted twirl with pathetic flourish. "Ta da."
Link tries to hide his amusement and takes your hand, pulling you towards him. He gives you a proper twirl.
"You're gorgeous."
"...You think so?"
Oh merciful heavens, the tiny hope in your voice is a vice around his heart.
"I have eyes." He teases gently and pulls back to give the impression that he's giving this genuine thought. It's not that he wants to trick you, but there's really nothing wrong here. He has to let you believe that your beautiful no matter what.
He refuses to let you be uncomfortable in your own skin.
"Mmmmhm." He grins and purposely dances with you back into your room. You end up giggling at his antics, hanging onto him as he nearly throws you off of you feet.
"Link, please!" You laugh louder.
"Just like this then. I've figured it out." He says proudly, standing in front of your mirror again. Link had wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side. "Is this better?"
You're smiling brightly, trying to see how it's any different in the mirror. But you realize. It doesn't matter. This outfit actually looks quite nice.
"It's because you're hiding my shoulders." You say gently, trying to pull away.
He doesn't let you. "No, it's because we're together." Link stresses, tucking some of your hair behind your ear. "Just stay by my side the whole time, you won't even notice."
You sigh and look back into the mirror.
He has a point. With his arm around you, you don't even see what's been bothering you anymore. You shake your head and smile again, your heart a little lighter than before. "You're to have your arm around the whole time then."
Link snorts. "Believe me, that will not be a problem."

ROLLO FLAMME ─ late nights and quiet feelings.
warnings ♡ fluff, mutual pining, unestablished relationship, male reader, reader is not mc, i made up some stuff about stars, not proofread
"i knew i'd find you up here!"
climbing the bell tower was a workout you always dreaded. it didn't matter your physique, because the stairs that led to the top were your labeled enemy (dramatic, perhaps, but you truly hated the climb). you favored the shortcut you had been so graciously shown by the group of gargoyles who lived at the top, but even with that cut in climbing, you still loathed the height of the tower.
and yet you find that you torture yourself with how often you climb it. perhaps a loathing part of you has decided to succumb yourself to a life of misery for your choices. ─ in actuality, you know it's because you climb the tower for the person who hardly seemed to mind the number. feelings have led you to make choices you know you'll regret come next morning when your legs ache and you have to force yourself to leave your bed to attend classes. (so, maybe it is true that some part of you is disappointed in you for your choices if you find yourself always climbing despite the consequences you know will come. perhaps it's because of the person who you climb for.)
he didn't look at you, but you know he heard you when he let out that familiar sigh reserved just for you. (you think he enjoys your presence, persistent as you are, despite how annoyed he often appears.)
"why are you here?" he asked as you joined him in front of the bell. you know how much he takes care of it; the bell shined under the moonlight ─ from the cleaning he does every morning of the city's most prized relic. he was punctual and steady; you'd learned that the moment you decided you just had to get to know him.
you smiled, "i thought you might be lonely."
rollo has never been the most for conservation, he often chose to sit alone lest he was required to do otherwise. you see it in how he often tried to get away from his own peers on the council, when he returned their attempts at conversation with short sentences. ─ but that didn't do much to deter you during your own conversations with him. (you like to think he's more involved when you talk, but maybe you're just being hopeful; maybe it's just your feelings covering your eyes.)
you don't quite know when your feelings had become so twisted from only wanting to befriend the aloof and reserved council president. now you found that being around him was almost heart-racing (not so much literally, but sometimes, you think that would be easier to handle if it was). you knew his habits and his likes so well; his lunch he ate that was unchanging every day; his favorite stationery that he used to write to his parents; and his morning routine of getting up to clean the bell of solace and the gargoyles who guarded the relic.
"you know," you interrupted the silence that had fallen over the two of you ─ it wasn't that long, you doubt you had been in silence for more than five minutes, but nonetheless, you still felt like you needed to break it.
the stars were rather bright that night, as if they wanted to be on par with the moon. you pointed at the stars, focusing on one of the brighter ones you'd dubbed among most interesting. "it's said that the groom of a princess from the sea had gifted a star to her. he named it after her and everything."
rollo grunted, and your eyes squinted in delight, knowing he was listening to you. "i don't really know if that's true. the name's been twisted over the years, so the real name has been lost, but a lot of people refer to it as the mer's star."
your arm moved to point at a group of stars, tracing your finger to form the constellation they made up. "don't you think that group of stars almost looks like, say, a contract?" you chuckled, "it's a constellation people connect to the sea witch."
rollo finally looked at you since you'd arrived, and you turned your head to meet his eyes, smiling. his eyes squinted, but he didn't seem annoyed with you, "you're rather knowledgeable about stars."
"i guess i am." you shrugged, "i just happen to like them."
rollo hummed, looking back at the sky, frowning in such a way that hardly ever changed when you seen him (sometimes, you wondered if his face was stuck that way). your smile threatened to waver, and you almost worried you had upset him (it was always so hard to tell if you'd pushed a line with him; his face was always the same).
"and," he said, to which you perked up. he cleared his throat, his attention remaining on the night, "is there, anything else?"
you tried to hide your excitement at the question, sucking in a breath that you were sure would've come out a gasp as you looked back up at the sky. your finger was already tracing another constellation for rollo to follow (and you hoped rollo didn't notice how overjoyed you were at someone asking about your interest).
"this was one is said to form a rose. it's been connected to the queen of hearts!" you pointed at another star, "that's the thorn fairy's star. everyone says it's as old as she."
you don't know quite how long you'd rambled, pointing out stars and constellations you'd studied for years. rollo didn't say much, he nodded and hummed but seemed to listen to what you had to say, nonetheless. (and if you weren't so lost in sharing something you so loved, you think you'd be overthinking and joyed at the thought of him actually listening as you rambled on.)
eventually, your throat began to dry, and you realized you'd been going on. you paused and cleared your throat, grinning almost awkwardly, despite rollo's attention remaining above.
"sorry." you sighed, "i guess i got a bit excited."
rollo looked at you again, reserved and frowning as his expression always was. he nodded, not in agreement you realized when he spoke; "i did not know of any of this until now, thank you."
"well," you blinked, "you're welcome?" ─ you don't understand what he's thinking you for, but you suppose you're still learning about him, and that's just one thing more.
rollo nodded again, but he didn't say anything as he turned back to watch the stars. you noted how out of touch he seemed ─ distracted. you wondered what he was thinking, if perhaps this was your que to get lost, if you overstayed your welcome.
"the moon is beautiful, isn't it?"
your shoulders raised to your ears, and you tried not to show your surprise, "what?" ─ it was stupid, you knew that. he didn't know anything about the stars, he'd said so himself; but some part of you soared at the thought of such a question meaning something else.
"the moon," he repeated himself, "it's quite beautiful tonight, don't you think?"
you paused, looking back at the moon that spotlighted the bell you stood beside. it was nice to look at, so close to its full as it shadowed the sun so brightly. you sighed, and nodded, "yeah, it is."

HII platonic request but what if reader was azul's (younger) sister? i have a few ideas myself but i'd love to see your take on this!
Characters: Azul Ashengrotto, (Jade and Floyd Leech mentioned)
Type: Platonic Headcanons
Info: Fem!Reader, Reader is approx. 2 years younger than Azul, Reader is not Ramshackle Prefect and is from twst originally, Azul doesn't know how to communicate
“Because I am the big brother. I’m sorry I wasn't better at it until now.”
Azul Ashengrotto
Growing up with Azul, you’ve seen his ugly side, and for a long time…
He resented that.
He was weak in his eyes.
Why would you ever look up to someone so disappointing?
The two of you were probably attached by the hip until then bullying started.
That's when Azul began pushing you away.
One, he didn't want you possibly getting hurt trying to defend him or something.
And two, he didn't want you to see that.
Even if you persisted, getting the twins involved, or attempted to try and connect again he would just push you back out.
As much as he wanted to be your sibling and grow up with you together, he had to be better first.
I fear the two of you would have a very distant relationship.
He wouldn't start actively reaching out until after his overblot.
After realizing that, if he had died due to his blot, he would never have had a chance to prepare his bond with you.
It started out simple.
Since he couldn't visit home without the complications of his transformation potion schedule, (that's his excuse.) he sends messages back home.
The first thing he ever sent back home to you was a souvenir he had picked up during his first year at some festival.
So when a small multicolored stained glass depicting a goldfish with a small laminated note attached to it with your brother’s name written in fancy cursive was suddenly in your possession, it felt like an obligation to write something back.
But without any paper in the Coral Sea, you settled on engraving a small message on the inside of an old clam shell.
This was eventually how a small bridge was built between the two of you.
But if you ever came on land? Ever attempted to visit Azul during a school event where outsiders were invited on campus? Or even just getting permission from the headmaster and a transformation potion?
Best believe he will have no idea on how to approach you.
He’s known you for all his life but at the same time, with the little communication the two of you shared, he has no clue how to even start a conversation with you.
(The twins will never let him EVER live this down)
I didn't really know how to approach this request but I hope it is to your liking!

The remaining story of Feather Falling
If you've read the most recent update on my AO3, you would know my writers block has gotten the best of me, along with my mental health. I don't want you guys to go without an ending though, since I know how frustrating it is to have a fic you like (or just read out of boredom) suddenly have no updates for the longest time.
So, only if you wish, under the cut, will be the remaining plan I had for Feather Falling. Be warned, it's a wall of text. The askblog will still be up, if anyone wishes to send an ask and let me revive that little side project. But, I hope you enjoy
claps hands
oKAY
so
Nav
After chapter 14, returning from the wall with Ellie, would go to Gale to explain things
Charles feels something new, a tad of what was in the diner before Nav was snatched
he shrugs it off and goes to Dave and Rupert to pass time
a few more clues leading to the toppats would be sprinkled through
a few more months later, Ellie gets her own place and all three usually hang out
by now they are all close
and then they get a call about the toppats, and their space shuttle
Nav is terrified, because, well gestures to past trauma of being a toppat
but Ellie is more okay with it
Charles also is tagged along. its a big mission
whole fight happens and such, but near the end, they couldn't stop the shuttle taking off. Ellie has to rescue Charles. that gains his trust and a bit of admiration
they fail this mission
and later on, after the station would have been more established, rumors of past toppats disappearing within military records
and sooner or later?
they're targeted
Charles dives in to try and get them out of some teleporter laser thing (i didn't get this all planned out, same thing used in VH)
but he and Nav get beamed up
everyone on the ground start freaking out, two people got snatched
gale is VERY protective over his crew, so he starts planning to get them back asap
back up on the station, both are grilled about toppat things, and when Nav finally grows a backbone, they bring both Nav and Charles into a room
they think if they threaten Charles, Nav will finally talk
because he was the same one who rescued him
so?
they break one of his wings
Nav goes bezerk, yells something out to let them go. Reg comments "once a traitor, always a traitor" and leave the two in the locked room
Nav tries to stabilize the wing, which he does, and Charles is a bit dazed.
Nav tries to explain he would do anything for the one who saved him from the toppats
Charles is confused, because he is trapped again
Nav yells that the few months of freedom he had were the best months of his life. best months of his life with him
queue the big hug (no kiss quite yet)
toppats try to go to the info Nav gave but Gale planned this, letting Nav know of a place where they DID have info, but also can get to fast to defend
entire escape i didn't plan yet, but when they escape, both are taken to the hospital
Charles wakes up first, and heads around to find Nav
they find each other, and go to a vending machine for a drink
they have a slow talk back and forth about what they said back on the toppat station
when Nav turns to look at Charles, he find him already leaned in to kiss him. A small pause, then accepts the kiss, hand on his cheek
Feather Falling end
roll credits
There would be an epilogue, Nav and Charles would have a small wedding, after Charles proposes with his trio of feathers. maybe just papers signed and go to his favorite diner with all his friends after

4 Minutes really is Korn and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Life.
His dad clearly doesn't care about him besides him being his firstborn and thus heir, possibly because he didn't care about his mom. Great's mom doesn't give a single shit about him. Great was willing to throw him aside like it was nothing, despite Korn seemingly always being there for him AND being willing to take on everything terrible about their family so his baby brother doesn't have to. He's lost Tonkla due to his own inactions, actions, and just the circumstances of his life*. Fasai seems to be the only one on his side, but they so clearly don't see eye to eye on the realities of their lives. His own henchman went above him to report to his dad, so he really doesn't even have any power at his job either.
I'm pretty sure he's about to do some real clown shit to try to get his dad's approval. Especially with Great and his mom being shot since that only happened because Nan was able to go live and that is sorta kinda definitely his fault. If his dad already didn't like him and thought he was a disappointment, he's certainly not going to be happy that his failure with Nan got his wife and son possibly killed.
I just don't see this show ending well for Korn the most out of everyone. I feel like death will actually be the best ending Korn can have at this point, it's just gonna suck hardcore for him before it happens.
*and lowkey I'm not sure he even knows Tonkla at this point anymore. Like even if he was able to fix what's broken with their relationship, there's no chance it would be the same anymore. Tonkla's not the same college student that was trying to do better than his alcoholic dad for his brother. He's out here smoking meth, killing people, and his brother is dead. Tonkla can no longer be his getaway from everything because Tonkla is living foully himself. And I stay scared about what his reaction is going to be when he finds out Tonkla not only is fucking Win, who's a cop at that, but moved him in to the house Korn bought. Especially since everything in his life is imploding and he has control of nothing.
