Hello Scav friend, my friends and I need to settle a dispute.

Do scavengers have mandibles? We must know, and I figure you would be the expert /j

ok so. I will make a post about my scav headcanons EVENTUALLY, but here is my thoughts

I think scavengers do in fact have mandibles! Their facial structures are so bug to me. It seems like their mandibles can either be visible or not. I think they can make some vocal sounds, but it's very difficult and not effective, instead using their own form of sign language to communicate. Something I think would be cute is that scav pups draw to communicate better because they don't know the language quite well :))

ahh... just thinking about how one of the first things that bunny mask did whenever she was liberated from her cave was search for her quote unquote ' creator, ' as she would put it. and whenever bunny found no one to speak of that fulfilled that role for her, the emptiness that she felt inside was immeasurable, for lack of better words. because although she is able to make friends with people quite quickly depending on the other person and i could very much imagine her becoming a parental figure to a child; it just makes her feel a little bit like maybe she wasn't worthy of being given one and like she's got a void inside of her heart that she just can't fill. because in bunny mask's mind, whenever you aren't able to fall back on friends for whatever the reason may be, that is where your parent/s step in and the fact that she doesn't seem to have any... means that she's got to hold onto them twice as hard. because if they leave her, then bunny mask thinks that she'll be without any sort of support system, including even tyler because he was her friend first before they were on-and-off again lovers.

and the last thing that bunny mask wants to be is alone. though she is exactly the type of being to put on a brave face in front of people, no matter what she may be going through, bunny mask honestly was so starved for interaction after all of those centuries that she spent in the cave below the fosters home that these bonds that she's made with people since then — they mean a hell of a lot to her and she sort of subconsciously is exceedingly loyal to them out of fear that they may decide one day that they don't like her anymore, as there isn't something that she can give them that they can't find somewhere else; if that makes any sense. i guess basically what i'm trying to say is that, under the surface, bunny mask is somewhat insecure in her relationships and if she doesn't offer them something valuable like loyalty then she thinks they might not want to stick around with her. so, in a way, bunny mask is always thinking of ways that she can make her friends life better not only because she wants to but to ensure that they are getting something in return for their investment in her as a friend.

which, i realize is a kind of sad way to have to view friendship, but bunny mask had already been a loyal being before this mindset had taken effect in her mind, i guess you could say. i mean bunny will literally defend those who she loves with such a fervor that if one of her friends had done something bad that her first impulse would be to deny that they had and then, if/when it had been confirmed, she would literally just deflate like a balloon because bunny mask may or may not have a tendency to sometimes put those she likes on a pedestal; so whenever the illusion of them being able to 'do no wrong' in her eyes is finally broken... bunny wouldn't even be mad at them for a little while. depending on the severity of what they'd done, she'd either just become disappointed in them, or completely disheartened by it and would still not want to believe it to a certain degree. but bunny mask certainly wouldn't do this forever as she is aware that other beings can be morally dubious and/or capable of doing evil things, of course. it's just that, even when she platonically loves someone, she loves them with all of her heart often times and so it seems to effect her heavily if it is particularly criminal or wrong.

and don't get me wrong, bunny mask would still go after someone even if they were a friend of hers once upon a time if they had committed a crime / some kind of heinous act because that is what she is convinced her purpose is on this earth. bunny will just be simultaneously heartbroken at them AND then become angry later that they had done such a thing. whichhh could be quite bad news for the now ex-friend or whoever they might've been to her NGL because an angry bunny mask is bad enough BUT a heartbroken and angry bunny mask? you better start running, because she would be liable to turn you into a shish-kabob or something JSJSJ 💀 nahhh, i'm only halfway being serious here LOL but honestly, if there is any way that you can avoid attracting bunny's ire, then i would totally suggest it because uhhh. breaking her heart does tend to make her more aggressive when she's 'hunting' someone

in which something as mundane and as simple as waking up entangled in each other's arms can either boost to start one’s day or be a reason to laze around, your boyfriend uses it for the latter.

posting short pieces for now because of writer’s block, i don't like this situation at all 🤧 anyways i’m finishing a request for jude so it will probably be up by tmrw or the next day idk i’m not really sure but it will be posted for sure!

Jamal knows he should be getting up.

It's already past 6 am and the day is not going to wait for him to leave the bed, pause the time itself so he can prepare his stuff for another day of grueling training (which in his defense he actually enjoys).

But really? How could he even leave the comfort of his soft bed when he's got the most perfect cuddle buddy wrapped around his arms like a missing puzzle to solve the enigma that is his life?

You're there, all secured and warmed up in his arms as he nudges his cold feet in between yours underneath the duvet. He knows you'll probably notice the coolness of his skin soon enough and will most likely chide him for bugging you out of your sleep because of that but really, he wants you awake just as much as he is even though he doesn't straight up wake you up.

“Your feet’s cold J.” You mumble sleepily before kicking his feet away, making Jamal chuckle from your attempt of keeping him from your warmth when he plops an entire leg over your waist.

He rubs the back of your head to make up for his early shenanigans, trailing soft kisses on the crown of your head before you're burying your face against his chest.

“Don’t you have training today?” You ask him, patting his thigh that was over your hip. “You’ll be late if you don’t move now.”

“Nah... think I’ll be fine being late just for today.” He replies, reaching over the bedside table to his right to take his phone. “Or should I just skip training today? Tell the team I got cold or somethin’?”

“And for what reason would you pull this lie?”

He taps on his phone for a few moments before he's chucking the device back on the bedside table, shooting you a mischievous smile before tackling you in a hug that had you squealing.

“No- Jamal! I swear to God I’ll kick your ass if you don’t get off me right now!”

Jamal pushes his luck by completely letting his arms and legs go for support, letting his weight fall down on you as he snuggles against your chest comfortably.

“But you're soft, and warm and I’m tired baby... just let me recharge real quick yeah?” You boop his nose, rolling your eyes but saying nothing else except letting him lay on top of you like a sack of potatoesㅡ a fine sack of potatoes.

“But seriously though, are you heading over to training?”

Jamal nods his head. “Yes but I texted the team, told them I’ll be late because someone caught a cold...” He ends his sentence with a cheeky smile, grinning wider when he notice that you're contemplating who on Earth caught a cold.

He thinks it's cute the way your eyes visibly widens as the realization dawns on you about what he did, slapping his back playfully for a good measure before you're lovingly chiding the life out of him.

“No way you lied to your team! I did not caught the cold did I? Why would you lie love seriously?” You huff.

“But I want to spend some time with you... such a good day outside, bright and beautiful don’t you think?” He points at the windows, watching the sun rise above the horizon in all it's sunny glory.

You gently flick on his forehead, rubbing on his skin when he whines about your flick being too painful (even though you both know it's really not and he's just whining for some extra affection), you cuddle him close to you still.

“Or you could have just asked the team for a day off like a normal person would?”

“And have Phonzy blowing up my phone?” He asks with a shake of his head. “No thank you, I’d rather do this instead.”

“But you'll attend training later on the day, won’t you love?”

A soft smile blossoms in Jamal’s lips, most likely done by the familiar pet name you normally call him on a daily basis as he nods his head in affirmation.

“Yes Ma'am.” He nuzzles his face back on your chest as you wrap an arm on his back, rubbing your palm over his shirt up and down. “I’ll leave when the clock hits 9:30 yeah? Just let me lay down here with you... You're so warm and soft how is this possible...”

WOO!! first post after introoo! (yes, i know i skipped a lot of letters, but a lot of them wouldn't make any sense to his character or I already talked about them in a previous letter)

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?) I feel like most would say he wouldn't be very affectionate, and for the most part I agree. I feel like the levels of affection he would give you would be based on how long the two of you are dating for. I see him more as a gift giving type of guy then a physical affection guy. Like coming home to you and giving you random (or very expensive items that of course he stole) items and trinkets.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?) I feel like a friendship with him would start randomly, one of those friendships that when someone asks "so, when did you two meet?" you just stare blankly trying to remember how. The most logical way you two probably would become friends is through work, or he just saw you on the street and just decided it was your (un)lucky day and forced you to be his friend

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?) Whenever I think about him cuddling I always just think its a little off for him. I feel like he would try to push you off or get all "annoyed" but secretly wants you to cuddle him. He just wants to put up a fight for no reason. For example, the two of you watch a movie and you are literally fighting to cuddle this guy and he just keeps pushing you off, his most frequent excuse would be

"you're to warm.." or "Its to hot out for that."

eventually he lets you, because you knew after awhile he would stop putting up a fake fight

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?) This one is confusing me a little not gonna lie. But no, I don't think he would ever want a domestic type thing. not saying he would "cheat" or whatever but I cant see him wanting to settle down, especially because of how much he loves to fight with batman. Would be pretty hard to do that if he was married with kids, at least to him it would be. With the whole cooking and cleaning thing, he sucks at both. Absolutely cannot cook, I swear that man would burn water, and the whole cleaning thing? he's 100% one of those people who don't make their bed EVER because

"I'm just gonna mess it up again"

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?) NOT GENTLE AT ALL. This man would be an absolute tease. I feel like he would even "make fun" of you, but he wouldn't see it that way he would see it more as poking fun. He would only be KIND OF gentle if you're crying.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?) Its the same thing with the cuddling thing, He would pretend to hate it so much but would secretly love it

"Fine, I guess we can hug a little."

His hugs depend on your mood 100%!! If your feeling sad I think he would be just a bit more gentle with the hugs if you asked for one. He probably wouldn't give you one without you asking. But if you're doing fine I feel like his hugs would get pretty aggressive.. like a classic tight bear hug.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?) This one has me a little stuck to, im in-between him saying it VERY fast and him not saying for a long time. I feel like he would maybe wait for you to say it first. Its like the whole hug situation, if you do it first he will follow.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?) Oh, this guy is JEALOUSSS!! IF he sees someone look at you just a little weird he will freak the fuck out. Expect to see that person on the news tomorrow. But i do feel if you told him to stop being so jealous or that his jealousness made you feel a little iffy he would try to tone it down jus for you. He would definitely still feel all those possessive emotions though.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?) This guys a sucker for kisses, He loves kissing your forehead specifically. He will kiss anywhere and everywhere, he does not care. His kisses are for sure on the more passionate side (pulling hair into a kiss...WHO SAID THAT?!??!) He loves when you kiss him anywhere...his cheek is nice though.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?) Be ready to cook for this guy, and if you cant cook? I guess you have to figure something else out because 1. He cant cook, and 2. he refuses to do anything in the morning. He doesn't get much sleep, he usually comes home late at night or not even at night at all so once he wakes up from his sleep he might be a little grumpy, AND IF SOMETHING WAKES HIM UP THATS NOT NATURAL...oh he will be mas and pissy for the rest of the day.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?) I don't have a lot of write for this one, as I said he's not really home at night, so when he is its special and you better make the most of it!

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?) Depends on the occasion, if its anniversary or a birthday he will go above and beyond for you. I mean this man could basically get you pretty much anything you wanted. But if its just some random date sure he would still try really hard to do anything you wanted but wouldn't go that hard into it if it wasn't a special event.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?) Defiantly hygiene, he just doesn't care. He would probably try a little harder with brushing teeth and washing hair when you start dating him just because you would force him to.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?) all I can say is DOES. NOT. CAREE!!

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?) He feels incomplete always, maybe he would feel a little better and this probably isn't what anyone wants to hear but even after dating you he would probably have those same feelings about himself

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.) I HAVE PLENTY.

-Weirdly loves the sun and sunny days??

-Had A BUNCH of teeth problems growing up and kept every single type of braces he had

-He hates any runny foods (eggs.)

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?) I was gonna remove this one, but I honestly just think I should say that I don't really think he would have a "turn off" from a person. Hes the last person to judge anything from anyone.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?) For sure talks in his sleep, I'm talking mumbling, rolling around, kicking all of it. Maybe he'll even sit up, say some creepy shit, then go back to bed and leave you confused and a little spooked. Then when you ask him about it he just says he doesn't remember doing that.

“Who?” Jason asks, spitting the word out. There’s that sick feeling in his stomach. He can’t breathe. “Who did you cheat on me with?”

He sits down, dropping his face into his hands. You’re not supposed to do this; you’re not supposed to betray him. You love him.

Jason squeezes his eyes shut. He died and came back to life, but it’s nothing compares to the pain in chest right now. Maybe he was meant to stay dead.

He can’t bring himself to look at you, to face you. “Tell me, Who you cheated on me with.” He rubs the bridge of his nose, a sigh passing through his lips.

You raise your eyes to look at him, “Baby, I-“ He cuts you off, not wanting to hear whatever pathetic excuse you were going to offer him. “Don’t you dare.” He’d rather you tell the truth, than have you lie through your teeth.

You had to speak up, had to make your reasoning heard. You couldn’t stand him being mad at you. “You died.” You swallow, a high pitched ringing in your ear. “You fucking died. You don’t get to make me feel bad. What was I supposed to do?”

Jason can't believe what he's hearing. How could you betray him like this? He died, so you went and fucked somebody else? He can't even look at you. His heart feels like it's breaking. "Do you even care about me at all? I died, and you just moved on that quickly?"

He's fuming, but he doesn't want to lose his temper in front of you. He tries to take deep breaths to stay calm. His vision is beginning to blur.

“You were gone for four years, Jason. Four years. I waited, every single day for you. I wrote you letters, after letters. I prayed, and I begged, that by some miracle, you would come back, but you didn’t.” The pain is radiating through your entire body, You feel like you can’t breathe. You want to cry.

Jason can't believe you’re trying to justify your actions. Are your actually using his death as an excuse to cheat on him? Tears pour down his cheeks. He's shaking with rage. He's never felt so hurt in his life. The thought of you with another man makes his stomach turn.

"You should have waited," he chokes out, "I would have waited for you. I would never, ever, betray you like this.” Jason yells. He's trying so hard to keep himself calm. He can feel his heart beating in his chest. He wants to punch something. "You cheated on me, y/n, how could you do that to me?"

You’ve started to cry. Jason is still shaking with rage. He can see the tears in your eyes, but he's too blinded with anger to care about your feelings. “I can't believe you,” he mutters, his voice trembling with emotion. ”You betrayed me. You broke my trust. And now you're trying to make me feel bad for being hurt?”

Jason struggles to keep his voice from breaking, but the anger is overwhelming him. His heart is breaking into a million pieces.

“Baby, I love you. Please. You have to understand.” You plead, trying to hide the tears that are threatening to spill. “Please.” Your voice cracks in a way that makes his heart break ever so slightly.

Jason looks at you with anger and heartbreak in his eyes. "Don't." His voice is cold and firm. "Don't call me baby." He tries to keep his voice from cracking, but his emotions are running rampant inside him. He can't believe you hurt him like this, that you'd use his death as an excuse to betray him.

Jason feels like he can't breathe. His stomach churns at the sound of your begging, at the sight of your tears. Every ounce of love he had for you is being tainted by pure rage and heartbreak.

"Don't call me baby," he says in a voice dripping with ice. "You have no right to call me that anymore." Jason feels his whole world crumbling around him. He can't believe you would hurt him like this.

Jason's breathing has become rapid and shallow, as though his emotions are consuming the very air that he needs to survive. "Do you have any idea how much you've upset me?"

Jason's fists are trembling. His entire being feels like pure, raw emotion - everything that he feels for you and everything that you have done to him bubbling beneath the surface. His rage and heartbreak threaten to engulf him entirely.

“Please, Jay.” Is all you croak out, your pleading eyes staring into his cold, unforgiving ones. You place your left hand gently against his cheek, the coldness of your fingertips making him flinch.

Jason can hardly breath. You look like the person he loves, but you don't feel like the person he loves. Instead, he senses a stranger in front of him.

He flinches as your hand touches his face, an involuntary reaction. He doesn't want you to touch him. Not now. Not yet. He feels a flood of emotions welling up inside him and he doesn't know how to handle it. He wants to cry.

As if reading his mind, you pull your hand away. The distance between you feels like miles.

Jason stares at you mutely, unable to form a coherent word. His heart is breaking all over again. You broke his heart once by moving on and you break his heart again with your words. “Just tell me who it was.”

He can't believe how selfish you've become, how much you've changed. The person he loved is long dead.

And then you say those words, the words that cut him deeper than any wound could ever do. “Dick Grayson, It was Dick Grayson.”

You were cornered in an alleyway. Fuck. You're in trouble now, huh? " We know you have the money; if you ever deny it or lie you're fucking dead, " a deep raspy voice yelled out. 

You didn't even know these people, and yet they're harassing you about some amount of money. " What the fuck? I don't even know who you are ! " you yelled out, trying to find a way out. 

" You're y/n l/n, right? You fucking owe us money. " How did they know your name? You had never seen these guys in your life. They were armed with weapons and if you were too slow they'd kill you in an instant.

" Shit. " You didn't care if you got hurt, you just wanted to get out. You ran into one of the people surrounding you, hoping that you could squeeze out. Luckily you did, but they chased after you. They were fast. You looked left and right, trying to find a place to hide in. 

Your eyes stumbled upon a bar, they'd never find you there, right? You made something fall over to distract them and bolted towards the bar's entrance. The people who were chasing after you seemed to have lost you, " Shit finally.. " you whispered under your breath. 

You took a seat at the bar and looked up at the bartender. Oh he was fucking attractive. He wore a black suit, sleeves rolled up and a black tie, over it was a red velvety sleeveless vest. 

" Hello, Darling. What can I get you to drink for today? " he gave you a polite smile as he placed down the cocktail strainer. 

You admit you blushed a little at the nickname, " Well, aren't you a sweet thing? Nothing much, just a glass of wine would be just fine. " 

The guy smiled and reached for the glass, " One glass of wine for a pretty person. "

As the guy cleaned the glass with a towel, he kept sneaking glances at you. His hands were big. They were also so perfect. The veins in his hands were slightly popping out. Fuck you couldn't stop looking at him up and down. His buff figure was well defined due to his suit, the poor vest was holding on for dear life, and the buttons were trying their best to not bust open. 

He carefully poured the wine into the glass, he then lifted up the bottle and gave you your glass. You took a sip out of it, " So, what's your name? " you curiously asked, leaning a bit towards the handsome bartender. 

" My name? Why? Are you interested in me? " he chuckled as he placed his towel over his shoulder, " Han Seungwoo, what about you love? " 

You gulped, these nicknames are making you feel things that you shouldn't be towards a stranger, " Y/n.." you looked up to see his face, seeing him smirk. 

" Oh, lovely name. " you blushed a bit at the comment. 

" Can I have a few more drinks? "

Your head was spinning, God you had too MANY drinks. Seungwoo has been keeping an eye on you since you had your 5th or 6th drink. Many other people stared at you, but he'd just glare back at them so they'd leave you alone. He felt worried since his shift was about to end, " Oh my love, what will I do with you. " he quietly giggled a bit as he cleaned up the glasses and grabbed his coat. He placed it on your back, making it a blanket of some sorts, and carefully carried you bridal style. " I'm going off for my shift now. " he yelled out to his coworker who seemed to be at the back somewhere… 

He left the bar and quickly went up the stairs to the side of the bar. Seungwoo lived upstairs. His place wasn't the biggest, but it was an average sized apartment with a bedroom, living room and a kitchen. He placed you down on the couch, patting your head and adjusting your position so you could be comfortable. 

Seungwoo had changed his clothes for a more casual and comfortable attire. He now wore sweatpants and a black shirt. 

He was a bit worried about how you were feeling after consuming that much alcohol. He had no choice but to just wait until the next morning, his tummy rumbled. " Oh, " he got up and went over to his kitchen and cooked a quick meal for himself. Suddenly he heard noise from behind him, he quickly looked behind to see that you woke up. 

" Mm- Y/n? " He placed down his food on the counter and walked over to you. " How are you feeling, my love? " 

You looked around confused, " I'm fine, where am I, Seungwoo? "

Seungwoo chuckled a bit, " Oh you're at my apartment. Sorry, I just couldn't leave you at the bar… " 

A complete stranger was worried about you? Damn, he was better than all the ex's you had. It was sweet of him, offering a complete fucking stranger to his apartment… - 

" You know, maybe you could sleep the night here. I don't mind it at all, my bed is big enough for the both of us anyways, "

You were a bit hesitant to accept the offer, but eventually you did. What could possibly go wrong? Nothing really, Seungwoo is a good guy right?... Right?..

He opened the door next to his kitchen which revealed his bedroom. It wasn't super messy, but the thing that caught your attention first was his bed. Why would he need a bed which would fit more than one person? Doesn't he live alone…? It was pretty late, so you didn't mind; at least there was space for the both of you. 

“ By the way, if you want to change clothes, my closet is right there. I don't mind what you wear, just pick out anything you please, love. “ Seungwoo said as he carefully took off his coat which you were still wearing, 

“ Oh- thank you..  “ you opened his closet. It was well organised. You hesitantly looked back at him.

“ Don't worry, I'm serious. Pick out anything you like. “ You turned back to the closet and picked out a white shirt and just some shorts. You doubted that they would fit, though. 

You changed into the said clothes in the bathroom and washed your face to remove the dirt and makeup which was on it. 

You closed the bathroom lights and went out. Seungwoo was sitting on the bed, waiting. His shirt was removed to reveal his tattoos. 

He looked up at you and chuckled a bit, “ Sorry are you uncomfortable with this? “ 

You shook your head, “ No it's- its alright. “ Jesus christ. His body looked so perfect with the moonlight hitting his chest, complimenting his messy hair which looked like it had been washed earlier. 

You lied down on the bed and Seungwoo did the same after turning off the lights.

You felt as if something was pinning you down from the bed, unable to move. Ow, ow, a sharp pain was coming from your neck. It felt as if a needle was piercing through it. You opened your eyes to see Seungwoo absolutely devouring your neck, draining all the blood from it. You told him to get off and he realised you were awake, 

“ Fuck– “ he got off you and wiped his mouth. Seungwoo looks blood thirsty, but what the fuck, he still looks attractive? Even if he could have potentially killed you. 

“ My God whats wrong with you– fuck that hurts. '' You carefully touched your neck, two holes have been made on your precious neck. “ Seungwoo, the fuck was that? “ You tilted your head back, the wound hurt a lot. 

“ I- Look it wasn't intentional- “ Seungwoo got cut off. 

“ Wasn't intentional? You bit my neck and it looked like you weren't going to let go anytime soon.  “ You glared at him. Seungwoo just looked at you, he was showered with guilt. But he couldn't help himself. You were sleeping so peacefully with your neck exposed. But it was weird, why would he want to bite your neck in the first place? If he was hungry shouldn't he go to the kitchen?

“ Are you some type of cannibal..– “ 

“ What the fuck? “

“ Wait, can you open your mouth? “ Seungwoo was confused but he followed your orders and opened his mouth, “ Shit those are real huh? How come I never noticed them before- “ I wonder… you were so focused on his face and body that you couldn't focus on the tiny details. You cupped Seungwoo's face, just observing his sharp teeth, its weird how fascinated you were with them.

Okay first of all how dare you, I am the fluffmaster and I won’t stand for this (/j). (I’m not making this TOO angsty. you can’t make me NOT write a happy ending.)

BUT we all know Vash is an angsty boy. He’s going to try to leave (“for your own good”) many times before he finally accepts your love, accepts that you aren’t going to leave him, accepts that he deserves it. He’s going to try to part ways with you, try to keep up his smiling facade, try to say it’s been fun, but this is where we go our separate ways. He knows you deserve to have it said out loud, you deserve for this to happen in person—and, quite frankly, he thinks he deserves the pain of it. But he’s never quite strong enough to keep trying when you refuse to let him leave. You won’t let him do this to himself. You tell him that if he truly doesn’t want you around, you’ll go, but if this is just his way of trying to save you, he can stop right now. And he just can’t bring himself to lie to you.

Marriage is… not something Vash ever foresaw for himself. He’s condemned to a lonely existence, and even the errant daydream is enough to bring his guilt and grief to the surface. Besides, he’ll outlive any human he gets too attached to—and that’s if the constant danger that surrounds him doesn’t get to them first. All that being said, Vash deeply, deeply wishes for commitment. He yearns for connection of any kind, and as much as he’ll bury it deep (or only let it out in a way he feels is safe, like flirting with women who he knows will turn him down), he’s a romantic at heart. He falls in love easily, breaks his own heart constantly, and runs the second he feels himself growing attached—for the other person’s own good, of course.

All this to say that when Vash falls, he falls hard, his heart committed long before he has the chance to stop it.

As for marriage itself, it’s not something he lets himself think about, even when he knows that he loves you, and he will love you forever—until post-canon (which, as y’all may have seen me talk about, I refuse to let him stay immortal, and I take the trimax concept of him having used all his power to mean that now he’s basically mortal and will grow old), when suddenly, forever isn’t quite so scary. Of course he wants to spend the rest of his life with you. Still, you’ll have to be the one to bring it up, tentatively asking if he’s ever thought about it. You’ve both pledged your lives to each other in private, by now, but… would he have any interest in making it official? Vash cries. He cries and cries and says yes, yes he would be honored. He’ll marry you surrounded by loved ones—something he never, ever dared to dream of—and he’ll cry some more, and he’ll swear his love to you in front of the world.

Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass #8) by Sarah J. Maas

I haven't posted my book thoughts in a while, but I just finished what I would classify as a truly epic series, Throne of Glass, and I wanted to share my thoughts, especially to see what everyone else thought as well. Also, goodreads calls it book #7, but I'm counting The Assassin's Blade as officially part of the series because I loved that book and it's the one that got me started on this journey, and I just think it adds a lot of nuance to the rest of the series that is very much needed.

So, without further ado, here are my thoughts on the eighth and final book of the Throne of Glass series.

Sooo many spoilers ahead:

Wow. So here we are, at the end. It feels a little surreal, to be honest, finally being done with this series which I started a few months ago on nothing more than a whim. What started as an attempt to satisfy my curiosity ended up as an indescribable experience. Every book in this series (Tower of Disappointment excluded, of course) has taken over my life in a way whenever I've picked them up, and I have been left constantly in awe and in love.

The Assassin's Blade, Throne of Glass, and Crown of Midnight were all 4.5 stars, while Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, and Empire of Storms were 5 stars. Needless to say, I had hoped that we would end this series on another 5-star read, and while 4.5 stars is very high, I will admit that there were some things about this sequel that left me... kind of wanting:

My biggest disappointment was Aelin losing her powers. I don't think I would've minded if she'd lost so much of it, had it been AFTER the big battle. As it stands, it felt like we were robbed of that epic final duel because instead of getting to see Aelin come to save her kingdom, it was kind of left to others to really do the heavy-lifting, which is not something I want to see in a story where the Queen is the most powerful character. I know she orchestrated the whole thing, but in this, the final battle for Terrasen, I would've liked to see HER show off her power, HER save the day. I loved getting to see everyone working together, that was awesome, but the fact that the giant magical moment wasn't Aelin's in the end? I couldn't help but be a little disappointed, I'm not going to lie.

Speaking of which, that bargain? I feel like the WHOLE point behind it was to validate Yrene's existence. No, we didn't just stretch ToD into a full novel for no reason, Yrene is totally useful and important, we swear. And the thing is, I really disliked ToD, so I realize how subjective this is, but I thought that Yrene had NO personality whatsoever, I thought her healing powers were so boring to read because they didn't feel substantial, her power just felt like abstract light vs abstract dark, and it was so boring. So now when we get to the end, and the big bad is defeated by her and her boring powers? Instead of getting to see Aelin come head-to-head with this guy? I mean... what a letdown 😅

How do I know the bargain was just to give Yrene purpose? Elena doesn't even get saved. That great scene of Dorian and Aelin risking everything together wasted, and for what? So Aelin could make a totally out-of-character deal, risking the safety of her people and friends and allies so that this one woman who'd already lived for thousands of years and gotten them into this mess in the first place can... keep living in the Afterworld? Even if it didn't work, why not just have the gods refuse and take Erawan anyway? Or why did the supposedly kind and caring gods just let this one b*tch amongst them kill Elena? As a reader, it felt sooo unsatisfying to see such an emotional moment play out between Aelin, Dorian, and Dorian's father, only to then amount it to nothing but Aelin getting robbed of her powers, Elena getting killed anyway, and Erawan coming out unscathed. I mean, the whole point was to seal the gates and trap Erawan inside, no?? So then this whole quest we've been on amounts to nothing! It'd be like Harry Potter getting all the Horcruxes, but oh no, turns out Voldemort had a backup. Like, the whole series was about getting these damn Wyrdkeys, and in the end, it amounts to nothing! Why?? So we can prove Yrene is useful. Still doesn't have a character, but at least she can do something ??

Speaking of Harry Potter, I couldn't help but compare this book to the Deathly Hallows. The pacing in that was great, one long quest leading to one epic battle, a few mini-epic battles in between. Or the final Percy Jackson book? With one long war and breaks in between. The pacing here? There were waaaaaaay too many pointless detours. Why'd we have to stop at Anielle? The khagan's forces were headed to Terrasen from the get-go, so we could've foregone that entire battle, soooo many chapters' worth, and just kept going to Terrasen, have Chaol meet Aelin on the way there! I get that it's supposed to be hard to read Terrasen's soldiers suffering, but how is it then pleasant for the reader to know that they're barely holding down the fort over there, and then switch back to these endless stops with the other characters that never feel necessary? During every interaction, I'm just thinking, "WHY HAVE WE STOPPED?? KEEP GOING TO TERRASEN!" Why not have Aelin arrive at Terrasen halfway through, have Dorian meet them there, and they could try to lock the gates then? For a series that has been leading to Terrasen this entire time, why is it that we don't get to see Aelin actually there except in the last 50 pages?

I realize that it sounds like I hated this book, or I was severely disappointed by it, but I promise I wasn't.

Dorian? That man. That man made this book. I can't believe what an epic arc Dorian has had. I've loved him dearly since Throne of Glass, and to see the way he's grown and changed into a true king worthy of following, I just... I'm so proud. My little Dorian-lover heart is so happy 🥹

Aelin. This is the first time in my reading life that I have used the phrase, "What a babe," for a female character. I would give my life for this queen, she is... I have no words for my love for Celaena/Aelin. She has been the heart of this series since book 1, and I have been honored to know and follow her.

I loved the cadre, I loved the Lorcan and Elide moments (Lord Lorcan Lochan was hilarious), I loved the Chaol and Aelin reunion, I loved every single Aelin and Dorian moment (their friendship has been buried in my heart's core since Queen of Shadows, by the gods), and the goodbye between the three of them at the end? Chaol's insistence and determination that they would see each other again because he couldn't imagine their friendship now without her? Nobody talk to me.

I loved the romance between Rowan and Aelin (as always, those two are my favorites). I loved how Rowan truly was Aelin's match in every way.

The "You do not yield" scene? That is my life's motto from now on. Aelin, Your Majesty, I will serve you to my dying breath.

I loved sooo many moments in this book, and these were just a few noteworthy ones that I can remember off the top of my head. It's just that before the halfway point, I'd been adamant on buying the whole series (Tower of Definitely No excluded, always always always), rereading it, annotating it, engaging with it. Aelin Galathynius/Celaena Sardothien has become one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. And now, while the latter remains firmly true, I just feel like I can't get over the fact that the quest of the entire series has been reduced to nothing because of one scene, and all to give Yrene something to do. One scene, and the journey laid out before Aelin since Throne of Glass officially means nothing. I'm trying to take comfort in the fact that she did seal the worlds (and sidenote, but even as someone who doesn't like the ACOTAR series, that one Rhysand cameo was seriously epic), it's not like absolutely nothing was accomplished, but as a reader, it's very hard to look at that week's-worth of deaths, at Gavriel's death, and not feel like it could've been avoided had not one nonsensical bargain been proposed. I don't blame Aelin for it, I hasten to add, but it's just that... the writing in the rest of this series has not been great, but I never cared because it didn't interfere with the storytelling, which is what matters most to me. This is the one moment in this series where it feels like the bad writing has truly affected the story itself, and it's a damn shame that, for the first time in this series, that had to happen in the finale, of all places.

Please tell me it's a lie that she saw ig stories, enserió that woman needs a break from instagram, it's not healthy for her to do that on a "vacation", why would you do that anyway?.

I swear because of her I want to get out of the fandom, I can't stand how they romanticize everything she does, and honestly it makes me rethink what kind of person she is that I follow, Sebastian is a great actor, but I believe less and less in him as a person and the cute comments he makes related to some topics (like social media, after that follow to a fan account, it completely broke me of how she had talked about him not having the app,etc).

Many think it's a way for both of them to say they are an official couple, but if that were the case, she would post a picture (I think so).It really is disturbing AW's behavior seeing every single thing she is tagged in at 2 am????.

You are the only account that is respectful to all points of view and I appreciate that, thanks for being one of the few that whatever it is you don't say "you don't like AW = jealous". They say if relationship is very private and mature but then these pics happen...I've seen more private celebrity couples that are always seen together and if one is on social media they upload pics together (Tom Hollan, Evan Peters new girlfriend, Dylan Obrien's girlfriend,etc).

Sorry for the long text, it just blows my mind her seeing ig stories when she is supposedly in a "romantic" moment makes me wonder what kind of person she is.

I totally get you. Annabelle's behavior is just... 😬 Like, who’s on Instagram at 2 am checking stories while they’re supposed to be on a romantic vacation if this is real? But I mena... she was stalking Dakota J. fan accounts on NYE... It's embarrassing, honestly. And Sebastian... All this social media/PR drama makes it hard for people outside his fandom to take him seriously. And I find this embarrassing when it comes to him as well.

And talking about the fandom... the way they romanticize everything they do is just too much... Especially since it's obviously PR (even Michael posted again, not that looking in the camera wasn't enough, haha). And yeah, REAL private couples are different. You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way, and it’s good to talk about it. Do not let others silence you!

The fact they say use the jealousy card is something I got used to. It's old and funny, epsecially since they were bullying Ale left and right and saying they are not jealous, just upset over problemstic behaviour (which they ignore in AW's case.l).

I’ve thought about stepping back from the fandom too once or twice over time. It’s just exhausting, so I totally get you.

HI!!! Welcome! I'm quite the nervous wreck sometimes, so I apologize ahead of time if your interactions with me are awkward. I have autism, ADHD, and depression, which can be hard to deal with, and is also often the reason why I am slow on making things. And also why I am so passionate about everything I do. I was also recently diagnosed with OSDD, so if I ever seem off or not myself, then uh. Whoopsies. I am also very jumpy and really suck at reading people I don't feel the vibes with immediately! I apologize for that as well!! AND I APOLOGIZE A LOT-

I got into MOTHER around July of 2019 when I was 15. It has brought out a lot of joy into me and has shaped the way that I am today! I've been creating content for MOTHER since August 2019, but most of it is private and archived. I have gone under multiple aliases, but Tanehineri is the one that has stuck and resonated the most, being the Japanese name for Tanetane island. The 'j' in my name is actually supposed to be pronounced the way you would a 'j' in Spanish, actually!

While MOTHER is no longer a main interest, I am not afraid to say it's my special interest! Whenever I am running out of things to think or create about, the series is there to give me something to occupy my time. I have multiple takes and headcanons, and I'm always open to hear and share my interpretations of these games with other people, so don't be afraid to ask me for my takes on certain aspects!

Favorite animatronic and why??

Oh boy

(I know I promised that i'll post that character tier list, i didn't forget, i swear! It will hopefully be up around christmas if everything goes right)

Chief, honestly, there's no definite favorite

That title is tossed around between four people, them being Golden Freddy, the Puppet, Circus Baby and Ennard

Goldie was my very first favorite, i was so drawn in by their mysteriousness and unsettling presence throughout the first few games, i just wanted to know more. My fondness for them just grew stronger when the Golden Duo theory entered the fandom space, and UCN solidified it even to another level. Even if it's just Cassidy residing in them, their unwavering resolve to punish William for all eternity, never letting him go, having him experience a fraction of what he put them and the other kids through. While never finding peace themselves, because it will never be enough- hhhgh good. Very good. Also i know some people characterize them as selfish because they only cared about revenge, but it never felt like that to me. (Stares in Golden Eyes theory) They cared... i know they did..

(j-gems and MD-PTV's portrayals of them mean everything to me, i could rant about them too all day)

Oh Puppet, my dearly beloved. Not gonna lie, i was lowkey very disturbed by them when i was younger. Can i just start with their design? It's wonderful, peak character design. Gosh... i adore them so terribly. For everything they represent and how they never abandoned the MCI. God dammit, I love Charlie so much too! They're technically the same- Even after making the wrong decision of bringing all the kids back to life and failing (Stares in Candy Cadet five keys story), she stayed by them and still tried to help them however she could. Ghhhgghg the selflessness and protectiveness in this 6 foot + sock monkey, it's killing me- Okay but i'm also so crazy about the fact that Charlie just straight up doesn't resent and fear William anymore, she just wants him to not intervene with her plans, damn (Well... this is only true if UCN is not 100% Cassidy's making, another can of worms, anyways-)

I need her to come back so bad, Steel Wool, where is she-

Everyone is wrong about Baby, Jesus Christ on a boat. She's like.... one of the most crucial characters in the whole franchise! In some cases, miles better than any of the other antagonists. But MAN, did everyone, including the books did her dirty (I know, Silver Eyes is not directly connected to the games, but sadly most fans treated it as such and i think the aftermath really damaged her image for others, goddamn you SE-) Before i lose it let me mention, i love her voice so much, it's such a perfect balance between comforting and unnerving. Oh your honor, THE LAYERS! The layers nobody seems to care about, it's pissing me off. (Mostly) everyone misunderstood her intentions in Pizzeria Simulator and i haven't felt peace since then, no joke- like you would think AT LEAST ONE of the more popular theorists would just say "hey what if she was just pretending to be on William's side to gain his trust and get closer to him" BUT NO?? Because that doesn't make sense after what she did to Michael THINKING he was William, oh my goddd, I'm so sorry Lizzie, I'm sorry that no one gets it- Pizzaria Sim was a nice session of Bang! (the card game), we had our bandits (being Michael, Molten Freddy and Lefty), we had a sheriff (being William) then we had a renegade. The renegade earns the sheriff's trust by acting like they're the deputy, their objective is to be the last one standing, even if it gets the outlaws killed. But they're ultimately on the bandits' side, because their goal is also to kill the sheriff- IT'S LITERALLY HER, GHHHHH. She's so tragic and so wasted away, i feel bad for her but can't forgive her but at the same time understand why she does the things she does and and and

I am SO NORMAL about Ennard, your honor (lie). I would like to blame (thank) j-gems and MD-PTV for the absolute clownery you guys have to witness in the coming weeks or months, they turned the already existing strong fondness into... hm, mind worms. Like holy smokes, j-gems's Ennard, I love that guy, it's making me look stupid. (He makes me crazy i can't stress this enough, he's so fun but still freaking threatening at the same time, man-) With MD-PTV's version, while i prefer separate personality Ennard over the complete hive mind, I really adore the Funtimes' dynamic in there (and how tragic it is that they just want to find peace and rest...... if only it wasn't also Mrs Afton Ballora-) This pile of wires has no business looking as sick as he does, genuinely. Scott COOKED with this design, and I shall be forever grateful. The whole gaslighting body snatcher concept too, it was so good, they had to pass it over to Fazbear Frights AND the Mimic, it's kind of funny. My poor fella is unfortunately so underutilized, like, I love Molten Freddy, i don't want to replace him at this point, BUT GOD ENNARD SHOULD HAVE STAYED THEMSELVES I WILL FOREVER MOURN WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN (not that i don't appreciate the MCI and Charlie both "becoming" bears to oppose the rabbit thematic detail, i could ALMOST forgive them for that). Like seriously, imagine an alternative universe where they actually gave him a personality other than the small characterizations in Help Wanted, that isn't just Baby dominating the body basically, hell- Kellen could have voiced him too, IMAGINE!

(Also i just see so much potential in the separate personality of his character, always viewed him and Baby as the twisted parallels to Goldie and the Puppet, but i'm gonna save that rant for another post)

(Also also i'm a huge fan of fics where him and Michael live together or just put their differences aside to find Will- The beautiful contrast of the serial killer bozo becoming an actual murder machine while the machine learns to become human, we love to see it)

HERE. WE. GOOOOOOOOO!!! In a complete 180 of how I felt about the last adversaries the Doctor faced, I fucking LOVE the Daleks.

I was really hoping this episode took place just a LITTLE closer to our current time, but to have it set in 2012 is also very good

Man, I remember watching this episode for the first time and not knowing anything about ANYTHING. Like, NOW I recognize the cyberman head for what it is, but at the time? Could have been just some random robot head.

Ugh. This guy is insufferable. Thankfully, I think we just have to deal with him for one episode.

Man...the Dalek reveal happens MUCH earlier than I recalled it. I also think this is the rawest interaction between the Doctor and a Dalek we get in the series (at least as far as I remember). GODDDDDDDD two sworn enemies, mortal (and yet also immortal) enemies, coming to realize or being reminded that they are the last of their kind in the whole universe. The seething hatred between them, and yet...they have this one thing in common that no one else can possibly understand. It's GORGEOUS.

This poor kid...believes and believes and believes, and Rose just knows and won't tell. I mean, she has no reason to tell him, but still.

Why are they just standing there if hey were just told the Dalek could get out so easily?? Just. Run.

...okay but now I'm just curious about what if this episode DID take place closer to this year. The Dalek downloaded the entire internet, and they just asserted that it now knows everything. But like...that was 2005's thoughts on what they believed 2012's internet would be like...if it were closer to now, the Dalek has extensive knowledge of omegaverse and all of homestuck and every qanon conspiracy theory. I WANT TO SEE WHAT PSYCHIC DAMAGE 2023 INTERNET WOULD GIVE A DALEK (i swear i do love them, but it's just...this is so interesting)

Watching the inner, squishy Dalek alien feel the sunlight after being trapped 53 floors below the ground and tortured has me feeling very "but what if I gave it a hug?" post. It's a good thing I grabbed my Dalek plushie before I started the episode. You know, to hug at this moment.

To be honest, I simply did it because I wanted to. There's no secret meaning behind it. The first piece of art, the first promo post, I just really didn't want to draw Taegan's eye.

The hair was too... ehh detailed. Too many lines back when I drew like that. We mostly draw Mod Tae with that haircut, since their so similar. I kinda just stuck with it since, same with Jakel's closed eyes.

I did make a sans joke about it tho. In my recommendation, you should do it. Tae just loooves sans memes.
