I wanted to make this poll because I've seen various fics where Garak reassures Julian that far from being upset over him being augmented, Garak is grateful for it, either explicitly because (he thinks) they wouldn't be able to have their usual conversations if it weren't for the augmentations, or simply because he likes Julian "just the way he is" and wouldn't want him to be "different". I disagree that Garak would think like this (or at the very least, I think Julian would react negatively if he did, rather than be reassured), so I wanted to hear everyone else's thoughts.

"Ohohoho" Barnaby chuckled lowly, looking over at the grinning yellow puppet who just had the absolute audacity to throw a pillow directly at his face, knocking his pipe askew and sending it to the ground. "Kid, I'll make you regret that." Wally huffed, rolling his eyes and brandishing another soft feather-filled pillow like a weapon. He stuck out his tongue, blowing a quick raspberry in the blue dog puppet's direction. "Come at me, I dare you."

Barnaby stood up.

Instantly Wally's eyes widened in surprise, letting out a squeak as the larger puppet started to approach him. Every bit of cocky confidence seemed to leave his body in an instant.

"W-Wait! Barnaby! I-I asked you nicely to stop smoking inside but you didn't wanna listen and-nohoho Barnie! Stay away!"

The yellow-faced puppet chucked the pillow at the rapidly approaching blue beagle, missing him by a mile in his haste to scramble away.

"Oh no, you don't." The beagle huffed as he reached out and scooped up the smaller puppet as he tried to escape, holding him in his arms he made his way back over to the couch, plopping down with the squirming painter in his lap. "Now you're gonna sit here and have the audacity to throw a pillow at me? Me of all people, your dearest best friend? And if that wasn't bad enough, you're gonna make a nasty face at me! Now when did you get so sassy?" Wally giggled, squirming in Barnaby's lap, though the grip the fluffy blue dog had on him, while gentle, wasn't giving him any chance of escape. "Let me gohohoho!" Barnaby shook his head. "Oh, not a chance! You are way too sassy to be my Wally, so clearly you are an imposter! Now I know you're hiding my Wally in there somewhere, where is he huh? Where you keepin' him?" Adjusting his grip slightly to keep the squirming puppet settled comfortably in his lap, the Beagle used his free hand to gently poke and prod the painter's plush belly and sides. "Is he in here? Huh? Huh? How about...here! Oooo or maybe here?" Meanwhile in his lap, Wally was a squirming mess of giggles and squeaks, eyes scrunched up and mouth opened in a wide grin, the painter desperately tried to grasp onto his friend's larger paws, pushing at them with no avail. "Nahaha! Nohohoho! N-No ticklihihhing!" The blue beagle rose a single brow. "No tickling? But i thought you loved tickling! I mean just look at how much your laughing! You look like you're having a blast!" Wally squealed, giving up trying to push at his friend's paws in order to cover his face, which was quickly getting redder by the second, with both his hands. Barnaby chuckled fondly, wiggling his fingers in Wally's now exposed underarms. "Aw come on kid, none of that now. Let's see that smile of yours!"

The blue-haired puppet snorted loudly, clasping his hands down quickly to his sides.

"Ahahahehehee! Barnabyhehe!"

"Barnaby? Oh no, my dear Wally you are mistaken, I'm not Barnaby right now.....I'm the tickle monster!" With a playful growl, the blue puppet formed his paw into the shape of a claw, before bringing it down to gently claw at Wally's stomach, tickling him now in earnest.

Wally's giggles quickly became full-blown cackles and snorts, frantically shaking his head back and forth as he squirmed. Messing up his usually neat and gelled-up hair, which was now dangling loose and sticking up all over the place.

Barnaby's cheeks hurt from how wide he was smiling at his friend's endearing reaction, that and the fact he had yet to ask for him to stop. The beagle gave a fond shake of his head, chuckling softly.

He abruptly stopped his attack, leaving Wally giggling quietly in his lap. After a second of catching his breath, the yellow puppet cracked open his eyes to look up at him in confusion. Barnaby just gave him a wide toothy grin. "Say, Wally? What's a Tickle monster's favorite snack? " Wally's eyes widened at his he let out a squeak, sputtering out frantic giggly protests, which Barnaby paid no mind to as he scooped his hands underneath his friend. "Raspberries!" He exclaimed, and with it lifted Wally up in his arms to blow a big raspberry right into his belly. Nearly bursting an eardrum from how loud his smaller friend squealed right close to his floppy ears. "NahahahAHAHA! BarnabyHEHE!"

Picking up on the wheeze in his friend's voice, Barnaby stopped. Carefully lowering his quietly cackling companion back down into his lap, placing him there and simply leaning back against the couch cushions and letting the little painter catch back his breath.

After a moment, his gradual titters finally faded away. Leaving him red-faced and curled up in Barnaby's lap, with a groan he lifted both his hands up to cover his face.

"Why are you so mean?" He whined, causing Barnaby to let out a laugh.

"Me? Mean? You say that as if you weren't not telling me to stop." The rest of what he had to say was drowned out by the blue-haired painter's flustered whining and threats of revenge.

Barnaby chuckled, bringing up a large paw to pat the top of his friends head.

"You, kid, are adorable."

it takes place after the final battle but before the final scene of them traveling

That night, as the waning gibbous rises above the burning treeline, Móll urges the children onto the abandoned wagon left behind by Cromwell’s men. The hunter – Robyn’s father, she has to remind herself now – slinks away to go collect his human body, and returns five minutes later on two legs and with a horse in tow. A rivulet of blood runs down the side of his face, stark against pale skin where it must’ve blended into dark fur just moments earlier. Keenly, she’s aware of the sticky moisture still soaked into the front of her dress, the tightness of the recently-healed skin beneath. She turns away from him.

With five-fingered hands, she reaches over and tucks the blankets over each girl’s shoulders; Mebh first, already asleep and breathing heavily, then Robyn next, who blinks up at her blearily. Móll tucks a piece of unruly blonde hair behind her ear.

“Get some rest,” she murmurs. “You two deserve it.”

“Where will we go?” Robyn whispers, not out of any real desire to be quiet, but with the weight of exhaustion from the events of the past few days. Beside her, Mebh steps out of her own human body as a wolf, and immediately flops over snoring once more.

“We’re heading north for now,” Móll says, voice gentle. It had been the only direction she had been able to scout before being captured on her way back. Nonetheless, the region held promise – far from any towns, further still from any English settlers. Once they pass beyond the ridge of the hill, they should be free from the wrath of the Kilkenny soldiers, nothing but unfettered wilderness as far as the eye can see. That kind of liberty, that kind of safety, has been something she’s longed for many years to provide for Mebh and the other wolves; now, she has two more recently-turned Wolfwalkers in her pack to show it to.

For as much as Cromwell’s forces had intruded upon the wolves’ land, Móll could see from her time imprisoned that his poison had infected his own people first. Robyn and her father may have been humans for far longer than they have been Wolfwalkers, but they did not escape their time under Cromwell’s fist unscathed.

“Things will get better from here,” Móll finishes with an assuring smile. Robyn mirrors it, and finally her eyes slip closed. Her breath evens out, and with a soft exhale, her wolf slips out and curls up around Mebh’s sleeping form.

Móll settles down on the opposite side of her daughter, and with practiced ease, falls unconscious. She opens her eyes to find sharp night vision, the chittering of the night’s creatures and the distant flames crackling in her ears, smoke and charred peat burning her nose. Despite her own exhaustion, she stands up on all fours and jumps down onto the ground. She has too much to tend to before she too can rest: a wolfpack to reassure, a journey to plan, and —

As her eyes meet Robyn’s father’s from where he has latched the horse’s harness to the wagon, she thinks, and a hunter to deal with.

Another realisation about Solomon post? Yes.

But First!

Let's talk about MC and Mammon's friendship (like I haven't spoken about it enough)

(platonically) general MC is probably the closest with Mammon:

• Beel mentions this in early S1 - saying that MC frequently seeks Mammon out to talk with him

• Levi mentions this in both S2 and Nightbringer

• Belphie briefly implies it in a chat

• Mammon has spoken about it multiple times

• Mammon & MC have been sharing a room frequently enough for him to leave his toothbrush and phone charger in their room from early S1 all the way up to S4

• His birthday is the only one they took charge and planned on their own, starting the gift giving a whole week before the actual date

• He's the only person in the circus event that they instantly remembered without having to talk with him first

• He's the first one in Nightbringer to fully accept them and start bringing them into the family shenanigans

• There are dialogue options like this, that aren't really options at all

• He's always their first - their first friend in every timeline and alternate universe

Okay so, now to the actual point of the post:

Solomon (in Nightbringer) asks MC if they've made any progress towards making the new pacts and MC says they're working on Mammon.

We know, obviously, why MC picks Mammon:

• He's their first. Not only does it seem like the right thing, they know him enough to know he'll throw a huge tantrum if he wasn't their first

• He's the safest and easiest option (I speak about this in more detail here) but basically he's the most settled after the Fall, the least likely to react badly or in anger, the least likely to accidentally hurt them and an extremely loyal ally (post here)

• Most importantly, he's their friend and they genuinely just like spending time with him

Solomon however, says something along the lines of picking Mammon being a smart choice because Mammon seems lonely.

Solomon's first thought was to see MC and Mammon's relationship from a strategic point of view. He saw a weakness (a true weakness btw, I actually have half a fic written from a year ago about Mammon being lonely in the Celestial Realm and I really need to complete it) and he exploited it to get what he wanted - similar to how he made a pact with Asmo in the present day timeline.

Solomon saying/doing this isn't really a bad thing, but I think it really adds to his character and shows his differences when compared to MC. It also really adds weight to the whole:

• locked away in a basement and hidden from the world during his childhood

• had one childhood friendship which is implied to have ended badly

• spent thousands of years without any real friends despite the fact that he had at least three people (Asmo, Barbatos and Thirteen) who genuinely cared for him

• admitted to not seeing the demons he made pacts with as friends until either s3 or 4, despite the fact that, even pre-series, Solomon is one of the people Asmo genuinely likes, cares about, values the opinion of, wants to impress and initially feels nervous around because of this

I just...

I love it when they give you a smiley and chill, kinda goofy, character whose past is a little mysterious and then you figure out oh he's got a tragic past and also his world view and thought processes are very messed up but also a product of his past

10/10 character actually

2 his relationship with Willl has always been something more than platonic and you can tell by how much physical touch with Will he initiated and even the bullies know there's something more between them because when they were being homophobic to Will they said those things to Mike's face

I am the LAST PERSON TO BE ASKED THIS BC I DO TOO MUCH STUPID SHIT WITH HIM HRELPRL but I’ll give you my opinion!! Btw it’s not properly typed bc i love rambling

FIRST… AN (ATTEMPT) UNDERSTANDING OF AZUL (BECAUSE I CANNOT “ANALYZE”) IN HOW HE VIEWS RELATIONSHIPS:

From what personal stories and the game shows, Azul views relationships as transactional. YES I KNOW EVERYONE HAS SAID THAT BUT IT’S SUCH A MAJOR TRAIT IN HIS PERSONALITY. It’s just the truth.

In his stupid PE uniform R personal story, Azul sucks at flying (AS EVER) and Vargas pairs him up with Jamil to help his pathetic attempts. Jamil is obviously annoyed and proceeds to try to help Azul but Azul replies with a “what do you want?” CLEARLY THINKING THAT JAMIL WANTS SOMETHING OUT OF HIM FOR HELPING AZUL FLY ON A BROOM. Jamil doesn’t.. Like he doesn’t care he just wants to get this over with

But you get what I’m saying. Azul’s way of relationships isn’t really.. HEALTHY?? He views relationships as beneficial and transactional. You give and you take… but with friendship!!! It’s not a very healthy way to live but hey, what do you do when you’ve been bullied into nothing. He’s probably been in the “hey, my friend likes you” joke that “those” kids do.

(Okay idk why I said that its actually hurting me while thinking that I’m literally taking damage)

Anyways, what I’m saying is that he’s been treated as a joke by his peers and he probably does his contract deals to be treated seriously. I know it doesn’t sound irrelevant because I’m fucking typing what’s coming to mind but I feel like it’s connected to how he views relationships.

Also take a note on how he also views the tweels. (YES THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS THEY JUST DONT WANNA ADMIT IT). They aren’t servant and master like Jamil and Kalim but they are together like a business deal. They assist Azul and in return, it better be fun for them. (AND THEY WILL NEVER LEAVE AZUL I SWEAR THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS THEY ARE-)

We also need to take a note on how his parents are divorced. This can also affect a child’s view on relationships. (YES HE DOESN’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT HIS BIOLOGICAL DAD JUST LET ME SPEAK)

He has never spoke of his biological father and praises his step father in which he calls “father.” It’s either Azul doesn’t give a fuck about his dad or just forgot about him which is understandable. (Why remember when he doesn’t serve a purpose in your life but your birth?)

But it seems like his mom and step father have a good relationship since he mentions that they get along well and are a good couple which probably will inspire Azul

So what i will piece here is that Azul finds relationships and friendships as transactional but if he were to find an actual SERIOUS romantic relationship, he’ll try to make it work. Also him and the tweels are besties.

SECOND… THE ACTUAL FUCKING QUESTION… TSUNDERE OR OPEN???:

Personally, I kinda like tsunderes……………… so like a tsundere Azul I would love a lot. Idk i love it when characters get flustered but I wouldn’t think Azul would be a tsundere unless it depends on the person.

I MEAN LIKE in a way he would gift you a small souvenir from a school trip.

You know during the City of Flowers trip, he bought the Tweels a souvenir. I would like to think you were at the level of the tweels………. But you’re not.

He offers to tutor you and you suddenly owe him

He offers to give you a SMALL discount and then you suddenly owe him
