Avatar knew nothing about devil slayers so Gray decides to do more research on his own (his previous research was stopped because of the mission)(AU Julia didn’t follow him and make them share a house). When ft gets back together he decides to ask Levy if the council had any information, but gets nothing. He asks Freed and even goes to saber to ask Rufus. Nothing.

On one of their missions together, Rogue asks how Gray is doing, because Rufus had mentioned he had visited. This prompts Gardel to remember Levy asking him if he remembers the council having any information about devil slayers. Laxus remembers a comment from Freed about his frustration towards lack of information about rarer types of magic. Together (mainly Wendy and Rogue) they put together that maybe Gray isn’t as sure about his magic as he seems.

No one’s heard of it + received from his reanimated father + had for only a year + not his original magic + played it up in a dark guild + absorbed a curse = lost and confused fledgling devil slayer. But just to be sure, they have a period of ‘Gray watch’ to try and confirm their suspicions. Gray watch= subtle (or unsubtle depending on the slayer) watching and questions. Gray’s probably confused, but it’s fairy tail so he’s not too concerned (plus the dragons have done weird things before).

Bonus: Gray being jealous of the slayers all having each other and hanging out, but with their weird behaviour starts to believe he’s dodged a bullet.

i love the idea of the dragons being protective/taking Gray under their wing so to speak, and i love the idea of them scrambling to try and help him in some way even more

Rogue, even though he technically set off everything, actually didnt know much other than what he observed himself, when Rufus told him Gray stopped by but didnt stay to chat with him or Sting (or Frosch!) he tried to ‘subtly’ interrogate Rufus

Rufus figured out what he was doing and shut him down, saying to ask Gray himself and that it wasnt his business to tell

Although, Rogue also saw Rufus carrying a book on different slayer magic types so he hazarded a couple guesses

When he does set it all off its like their collective braincell goes into overdrive

they dont all figure it put right away, its post mission that they discuss what they know

‘Gray Watch’ as you so beautifully put it, is their clumsy attempt at sussing out info and to help him

Gray noticed something was up fairly quick because, while they were trying, subtly isnt exactly their forte

he first noticed because Natsu was actively trying to get closer and the conversations he started didnt end up in fights

At first when all the questions started he just thought they were curious because he was another slayer, and when most of their questions ended in his lack of answers he thoight they would just stop and go back to normal but they didnt

They just kept coming, if they were asking questions they were giving advice, or even complimenting his new magic and how fast he figured it out

While the Dragons think hes totally lost and confused, he isnt really, Grays used to having to adapt quickly and at least it was ice devil slayer magic, he gets the big picture and the dynamics of it but he just doesnt know what the hell it is? and why isnt there any information on it?

Gray ends up convinced theyre all infected with some sort of virus, a virus that apparently makes them really social, with.. just him? (hes still working on the theory)

Their advice is kinda a hit or miss, they only know the stuff they found out pertaining to Dragon Slayers, and they assume what works for them will work for him too, sometimes it does but a lot of the time it doesnt

Dragon and Devil slayer magic, while under the same subtype of magic, are very different, but they dont have the resources to know that outright

other tidbits my brain came up with

Dragon slayers specifically have a naturally high metabolism and appetite

they assume thats its the same for Gray, Natsu told Mira to start adding extras to his plate when he eats at the guild, and also started offering the snacks he eats during the day

Gajeel would try to inconspicuously ask Levy abt dif slayer type and she happily did even though she knew exactly what was doing

Sting started to pester Rufus for any info on Devil Slayers constantly, while Rogue actually looked himself, they actually went to magic experts and various libraries around town and on jobs when they took them out of town

When someone or Gray said anything about Devil Slayers you could literally hear their brains working in overtime while they listened

Wendy would often ask Gray how he was doing with his new physical and mental changes and give tips on what she does when she got overwhelmed with all the sudden alterations to her person, which really confused him bc he hadnt noticed much actually changing about himself

Anything Laxus figured out himself he would relay to Freed to tell Gray, hes gotta keep up his persona hes got goin on yk?

Slayers in general have heightened senses AND emotions

Dragon Slayers, and slayers in general but its most extreme/prominent in the Dragons, have highly protective tendencies.

Devil Slayers have slight possessive traits and jealousy issues, again, slayers in general have this but its more prominent in Devil Slayers,

that being said, Gray being a slayer now means he wanted to spend more time with the others so he didnt try to stop the uptake in attention they were giving him. But since they had the plan to help him they were also spending a lot of time together, which in turn made him feel jealous and upset as if they were ignoring him

But as time went on and the dragons were getting more desperate for info Gray started believing that they were all crazy or sick

How did you actually come up with mayhem x not cup? It seems like such a weird yet canon ship I love it I want to learn more

Oh i actually had art of that ship waaaaay back before posting on tumblr

Made this around the middle of last year. And then i posted this when i first started tumblr (you long-time fishies/followers out there who was with me with my first post might remember this lol)

From all i could remember from my past-self's thoughts, Not-Cup was, from what i imagined, a hollow and black eyed version of Cuphead that appeared in real Cuphead's dream in the labyrinth. Which is waaaaay different cuz in the canon, its actually just the usual cuphead that we know, except evil with toungue. I was wondering why he was in the Tear—was he an anomaly like mayhem? Was he an illusion like ava and black hat? Or is he smth else like i dunno, a future cuphead that is potentially possessed by an ink machine part? (As you guys know, when a character gets possessed by this shit, their eyes turn black like Cog!Holly, Cog!Cala and Instument!boris and sarah. Except the brush with mick tho, i dunno why is that)

But anyway, this question gets unanswered leaving me to headcanon that he is an "actual" character and not just a manifestation or illusion of the labyrinth. Just like Mayhem who we thought was an illusion till she's revealed to be an actual character in the series. (This question regarding Not-Cup is still unanswered lol, regardless of an answer, im still shipping them)

Now, onto the actual question, well i dunno if u ship cuphead and holly (i do) and if you'd notice, witchbrew is (obviously) a parallel of the colly ship. Colly are in the hero side, while Witchbrew is on the villain side. I would love to see an actual couple be villains, it sucks that theyre always single XD. If Cuphead had his Holly, then why cant Mayhem have her Not-Cup, hm? Nah-uh aint gonna let that happen

And then boom! This shit--i mean ship is created. Lol i dunno if this makes any sense 😭

Also this ship has ties with my theory regarding of Mayhem's origin and if there will be a canon origin of her story thats gonna be different from my theory, well, lets say this might just be a small fanon ship that randomly came outta nowhere XD

Regarding their origin love story, it starts with my theory that Mayhem is the future Holly that is fully possessed by the cog when the questers went to the desert (forgot its name) to finf the machine. Cuphead goes desperate and asks help from a part? (Eh, i really havent thought about how cuphead got possessed lol) And then he teams up with Mayhem.

The problem is, Cuphead did it out of love, regrets (regret that he didnt manage to save holly even tho it wasnt his fault), and guilt. While Mayhem got possessed by the Cog due to her previous connection to it that got stronger. So i this ship, its painfully one-sided. Painful truth.

But when interacting, they act a bit like a bickering couple, Mayhem being the terrifying teaser she is while Not-cup is the sarcastic serious one. Tho he sometimes act like the actual Cuphead Dish from the questers. They may also act a bit like the duplicates of Colly in appearance.

Not-Cup likes to help Mayhem mess with the Questers as they try to hunt down and restore the duo.

And as for Chaos the Cat... I dunno where the fuck does he fit in lol

From what i remember i think i had a digital version of Mayhem's Tango? Its burried deep down in the ocean... Btw Mayhem's tango was inspired by the song "You'll be mine (Alice's Tango)" by Chi-Chi. I also had other songs that i associate mayhem with (mostly its just bendy fansongs lol) but i dunno if u wanna hear abt it :/

a/n :

I feel like this is just SO self indulgent of me but whatever I guess lmao, bks is my brain baby currently and I will take any excuse to talk about it. These posts are going to be long in-depth dives into my writing process, dress inspo, music i was inspired by, etc. of the mentioned chapters so settle in cause this is what i'm doing today lol. also this might be the longest one bc i'm gonna talk about starting and coming up with everything.

starting writing and original outlines :

i've said this so many times lmao but i wrote the ending first. like the ending ending. i work really long hours at a job that has me listening to music for like ten hours a day while i work so i get a lot of thinking time lmao. basically i originally wrote it as a story with no specific characters in mind. I'm a big Pedro fan so i was between characters i thought fit the fic but settled on din because i think he fit the character i was imagining best. (it helps that he's in my top three pedro characters lol) from there laid out a vague outline in my mind of where i wanted to start so i created a set list of characters and basically just dove right in without much to guide me except for an ending point lmao. it wasnt until closer to like chapter 15-16 when i started properly outline each chapter in advance in the document, before that i just wrote vague notes in a notebook that i didn't end up following all that well lmao

if you've seem/read bridgerton then you might know that i took a lot of inspiration from the pattern the show uses and still do.

basically the show has a pattern of the couple getting together and breaking it off or having an issue that's resolved and then there's a new issue. i've sort of been following that sorta kinda

also reader is heavily based on charlotte because i had just finished queen charlotte when i started writing bks

din is more based on anthony bridgerton than george, (anyone unfamiliar with bridgerton, george is the love interest in queen charlotte)

also a lot of din's style of self loathing is based on edwards from twilight LMAO

there's some unused dialogue here, specifically there was going to be a longer conversation about how he wanted to get her out of the castle more often as well as a scene where she was going to eat fruit ands it was gonna drip down her front and he was gonna wipe it off. it was gonna be a whole thing lmao but it didn't really fit the rest of the chapters vibe.

so.... originally there was a timeline issue where the first lunar interlude (i'm a huge taz balance fan and that's where i got the name lunar interlude from lmaoooo, i have 2 taz tattoos) was going to be chapter 4 and then it was going to be chapter 6 and then it made the most sense to make it 5, so any timeline notes here are wrong.

in my original concept for the fic, every chapter was going to end with a small portion of din pov, but it didn't flow well and i really didn't like it so it ended up being easier having it be specific chapters.

when writing the first lunar interlude i went through and read the previous chapters and wrote down how i thought he was feeling during each scene which is what these notes are ^

Im taking this as a chance to finally ramble abt her anyways so Janet's core inspo when designing her was to avoid 2 key things. Don't make her like Immortal & Th Restless's Clara (due to clara representing michael, not mrs afton, so i wanted to avoid that), and don't base her too heavily off of Ballora. I still have ties to Ballora's character (a music-based theme, blue-centric colour palette, im sure there were more basic ideas but everything else is more hc than themes to keep up) due to my hc thingy of each Funtime having ties to William's wife + kids, but yknow.

But yeah. Funky lady who played bass guitar + did backup vocals in a band during her high school and college years. Literally her and William dating can be summed up by "Seriously, what do you see in that guy?!" "He makes me laugh." bc she was and is WAY out of his goddamn league. Not just bc of the whole serial killer thing he was just an even bigger loser in college. Normal people dont develop a crush on a woman after she nearly breaks your nose and makes you bleed, William /j

But yeah uhh. I also dont like the idea of her being absent or neglectful purely because I got way too attached to her (i was originally gonna do that just to make things easy for myself but. Pretty lady,,, I am a very simple lesbian what can i say) so like. She obviously wasnt the greatest, most fantastic mom to ever exist given she was kinda maybe sorta well aware William was making some weird fucking clowns, but like. Hey. She tried. Also side note my reasoning for her being absent during the whole. Yknow. '83 event (and just evan's bday in general) is bc Evan + Elizabeth are twins and Elizabeth demanded a girls-only trip for her bday, and Janet promised Evan she'd do something just as special for him when she got back. That never happened bc he died lmao loser /j

But yeah uhh. Shes got a lot of regrets. Wishes she coulda done a lot of things better. Kinda dies with those regrets. Ive seen people say that one of fnaf's charms is that no character is 100% good and i LOVE that, and wanted to keep it up with Janet. Good mom and overall a good person, however made some bad decisions along the way and whatnot.

Im still working out specifics (ive been slowly working on a lil private fic abt her and william meeting + their early relationship) but uhhh. Minor notes that dont get their own paragraphs is that William sampled her voice for Ballora so yay easy voice claim, she had an on and off relationship with her band's lead singer (her name's Bev), her birth name is actually Janice Schmidt but if you call her Janice she'll knock at least 2 of ur teeth out, she's a runaway teen and got adopted by this older couple bc her home life kinda sucked (idk specifics yet), and also girlie has an extensive criminal record of minor angsty teen type charges. Also teen Mike dying his hair and then 2020's Michael's hairstyle are both kinda references to Janet's hair because he wnated to look less like his father. Thats all ty. Actually no theres more that im remembering as i write the tags and edit a few details. Back to her and William because god im insane about them. So for starters it. Well i was gonna say Janet was def the first to flirt but i think William definitely developed a crush first and they only kept talking bc of said crush so its kinda up for debate. Anyways yeah at first it was a HUGE sorta like "Well he's funny especially when I fluster him so this can be just a fun lil thing" but because they chatted more they def kinda like. Clicked more. William was a huge fan of listening to her music (from. a distance. he looked kinda like a creep but at least janet only misinterpreted it once) but like *specifically* janet he didnt give a fucking shit abt the rest of the band. Uhh. They had their first run-in and janet kinda. Well. Punched him in the nose before he cleared up that he is NOT a pervert or anything weird like that (bc a guy that looks older than he is staring from a distance when there is a clear crowd he could join kinda gave janet the Wrong idea), then they later bumped into each other in the hall and chatted for a bit, then they kinda just kept "accidentally" running into one another. clone high final episode spoilers below! (9 n 10)

holy fuck im so happy. even though im super annoyed how they keep throwing a bunch of really good ideas for relationships and plot in the trash- im just so happy with what we got. 

OK FIRST EPISODE 9??? THE ANIMATION WAS SO FUCKING GOOD AND I HAD TO PAUSE BECAUSE WHEN WESLEY WAS FLAILING IN THE SEA, IT WAS DAMN smooth and pleasant to watch, as morbid as it sounds lol. that whole scene with the comic-esque vibe was so so pleasing. 

and that whole episode was super like, sad but funny. i literally stood up and yelled when Mr. B was getting near the edge. like i probably woke up every single one of my neighbors in like.. a 50 mile radius it was that bad im so fucking annoying about this show. 

BUT THEN SCUDS SAVED HIM AND I WAS SO HAPPY, LIKE THEYRE LITERALLY AN OLD COUPLE, AND LITERALLY THEY’RE FATHERS TO THEIR CLONE KIDS AND THEYRE ALL SUCH A BIG HAPPY FAMILY AND AUGHHHH im gonna draw family stuff with them so bad. Because I decided to start playing WD2 again and need to start posting more.

Hawt Sauce (Josh):

Originally didnt want to go. He already had an idea of how this was gonna go. He likes hanging out with the gang, but sometimes they can be a little too obnoxiously loud. It took quite some convincing to get him to go. He mostly kept to himself, interacting only a little with the others. Regardless he did enjoy it. Until it was time for the illegal fireworks that no one told him about.

Sitara:

Sitara loved the idea. Thinking it would be great for the gang to hang out together again. She was the first to get shit-faced. She did help with the cleaning up afterwards though. She wouldnt let anyone feel alone, talking to everyone and setting up the others to talk to each other. Turned on music and started dancing and getting the others to dance too.

Horatio:

He was unsure if he wanted to go or not. Decided he had nothing better to do and went. Swore he didnt steal all the chips and salsa but was caught eating one of the party sized bag of chips while talking to Marcus. To make up for it, he helped with cleaning up after the party. Controlled the music.

Retr0 (Marcus):

He obviously showed up with no issues. He brought the booze. He really enjoyed hanging out with the others in DedSec. Shotgun a couple of beers. Helped set up the fireworks. Spray painted a middle finger on the next door neighbor's house with Wrench. Fell asleep on the couch after getting completely shit-faced which resulted in some crude and humorous marker doodles on his face.

Wrench (Reggie):

First to show up. The one who brought the illegal fireworks. Was the one who hyped Marcus into shotgunning beers. Got smashed beyond comprehension, almost broke a table while dancing on it, lots of random incoherent "flirting". Took lots of photos, including one next to passed out Marcus, and posted them all over his social media pages. Managed to lock himself in a closet where he passed out. No one could find him until 10 in the morning.

Fyrel!te (Edward):

Only went because he didnt want to upset anyone. Said he wasnt going to drink but Wrench convinced him to have a shotgunning contest with Marcus. Started yelling random insults and phrases in spanish. Kept opening the fridge and blankly stare at its contents as if he was looking for something only to shut it and then repeat the process for 5 minutes. At one point he tripped and faceplanted onto the floor. He later would wake up in the bathroom with the biggest hangover he's ever had paired with a painful migraine.

"hi. can we go soon?" you ask, voice slightly shaking. it wasn't that anything had happened yet, but parties scared you. at least half of your friends had been assaulted at a party before, and jihoon leaving you alone with college guys leering at you really wasnt making you feel any better.

"pshh now why would you wanna leave? the party goes for at least three more hours! i'm gonna go get more vodka. you need to drink some too."he removes his arm and stumbles away, and you swear you can hear a faint, "you need to lighten up," being said.

suddenly the front door beside you opens, and you jump. three or four more people pour in, one of them looking familiar. hyunsuk.

you'd met jihoon's admittedly attractive friend a handfull of times, and you were always impressed with him. he was always respectful of you, and whenever you saw him, he met your eyes with a cute smile on his face.

you'd heard jihoon's other friends complain that hyunsuk wasn't as conventionally attractive as them but you called bullshit. jihoon was good-looking yes, but hyunsuk had an originality to him that made him seem unique. special even.

you knew thinking these things wasn't good or healthy, but even you had to admit jihoon had been treating you like shit lately. i mean, what boyfriend wouldn't be concerned for their partners safety?

"hey!" hyunsuk whispered- or rather, he shouted at you, but it sounded like a whisper amongst the loud music and conversations.

"hi!" you yelled back, and he raised a hand up to his ear, as if to say 'speak louder.' after a few minutes of trying to understand each other, he finally pulled you into a bedroom on the next floor.

the music was still insanely loud, but you could hear each other. "hi,' you said again, albeit meekly.

"hi. where's jihoon?" he asked straight away, and you wanted to kick yourself. of course he wanted to know where his friend was. why were you expecting him to want to speak to you.

"not sure. he said he was getting more vodka, and that was thirty minutes ago." you admit, feeling bad you didn't know his location.

"wait," hyunsuk said, after a second. "you don't know where he is?" his expression changed to concern.

"i'm sure he's fine-" you tried to soothe him.

"i'm not concerned about him!" he exploded. he blinked a couple times and seemed to tell himself to calm down.

"he shouldn't leave you alone in a place like this. wait- i thought you didn't even like parties?"

"i don't..."

hyunsuk ran a hand over his face, accidentally messing up his hair. "okay. do you want me to take you home?" he offered. you honestly wanted to say yes, you really wanted to go home but...

"won't jihoon be mad?" you ask, hesitantly.

"to hell with him, what do you want?"

"you." you blurt out, and throw your hand over your mouth, eyes wide.

he looks just as shocked as you, but at the same time, almost a little, proud?

"do you mean it?" he whispers, taking one of your hands in his.

"i-i-do." you confirm, giving him a tiny smile.

"aw, love, i like you too." he revealed, pulling you into an engulfing hug.

"b-but, what about jihoon?" the guilt set in on you at the same time as the comforting feeling of his warm hug.

"he doesn't love you like i do. like i can. be with me instead." he held your shoulders, as if trying to make you understand.

you hold his hand and lean up. if you were going to do this, you might as well kiss him, right? kissing jihoon had never felt like this. with jihoon, you could tell he was skilled, but it was all about him having control.

with hyunsuk, with him, it felt like heaven. the feeling of his soft lips on yours, the feeling of him being slow and caring with you made you melt into him.

he pulled away and saw your dialated eyes and sighed. "don't look at me like that love, you don't know what it does to me."

"probably the same way i feel when you look at me."

and that was all it took. all thoughts of jihoon were gone as his lips landed on your neck, gently sucking hickeys, that you knew would come back to bite you later but all you could think of hyunsuk. how good he made you feel, how special.

he backed you up to the bed and laid you down. "you like this- it makes me so happy." he murmured, gently tracing his fingers down your body, and contorting you into a mating press. (why- well, i guess he felt possesive)

"well, you make me happy."you say, circling back to his first comment, and he smiles, and for once you feel something different than just attraction. you swear it feels like it's like your heart has clicked into place, whirled into motion, all in a swirl of butterflies taking over your body.

Watching a horror movie with mammon

It was a normal day. You woke up, had breakfast and left for school. You see Mammon in the hallway on your way to your next class , he notices you and quickly walks over.

"Hey MC!" He says in a happy tone

"Hi Mammon, looks like youre in a good mood, huh?" You say with a small smile on your face "did you manage to sell something of Lucifers, finnaly?"

"No, not yet... BUT i did find a couple of grimm just laying around on the floor today!!" He says, grinning. You look at him and raise an eyebrow.

"On the floor? Are you suuuure it wasnt in someones room?"

- condi wasnt expecting his dad to be dead, he thought theyd have to fight him

- he kind of hesitated taking the sword !! vyncent doesnt really know how to feel about using something that belonged to his father

- he wasnt entirely Present for the part where his dad betrayed the party, he was sort of fading in and out of consciousness so theres a chance he didnt actually get the full picture. condi knows this out of character and vyncent knows it in the back of his mind somewhere that his dad might not actually be fully evil but hes too angry to come to terms with that yet

- hes struggling a lot with the fact that his mom.doesnt know about the betrayal. he doesnt want to tell her because "its not his fathers pride at stake, its his mother's memory of him" and that makes me so . :(

- THE GREATS!!!!!!!! THE GREATS ARE HERE i love the greats. surely nothing bad is happening to them

- they have a couple theories as to whats going on with the greats:

-- condi: theyre in this state because vyncent took too long getting them back here out of his head

-- condi: they were killed when they got transported to the other world and there was no way to get them back completely

-- charlie: something happened in the time where vyncent was transported to prime and the greats had died, so someone did something to keep them alive by putting them in his head. maybe they could only be kept alive by being in vyncents head

- grizzly tries to insight check bizly irl to see if any of their theories are close so far. this does not work . he rolled a 17 btw

- none of them trust minerva they think she might be secretly working with the lich. bizly defends her by saying "shes also in the middle of basically an apocalypse i think shes allowed to be a little mean to you"

- le frog is the only french person ever. this is brought up with NO context no explanation

- bizly is sharing some of the thumbnail art from youtube because this was right around the time the first few episodes were being put up publically !! most of them are just the same as the official refs but the most important one is le frog bc im not actually sure if youve seen his offical design yet . also tide used to be white. we dont have to talk about white tide

- bizly says pd feels more like a DC comic than a Marvel comic. hes right about this

so basically in this au, empires is originally a book series, that is being made into a show (s2 isnt a part of this rn because when i came up with the idea it wasnt a thing but it might be added later idk)

hermitcraft is a long-running tv show, currently on season 8 and are sometimes filming in similar locations to the empires crew so theres a bit of crossover between them

its gonna be lizzie/joel/jimmy/scott centric because i didnt really watch anyone else lmao

the actors!

lizzie and joel: they are relatively famous actors, who have been seen in a few things, quite often but not together. they are married in real life, and when the cast for the empires show get released everyone is extremely excited because theyre both perfect for the parts and are gonna get married in the show

jimmy: not as well known beforethe casting got released - was in evo ab 5 years ago, which is getting more popular due to the empires show coming out. good friends with joel and lizzie

scott: pretty famous on account of being in too many films and tv shows to list, also good friends with joel and lizzie (and like a million other people) but has not met jimmy yet. (and is almost immediately smitten when he does cough cough)

pixl: has a youtube channel corun with zloy and lyarrah about the hermitcraft show, which all of the actors for hermitcraft know about and love - everyone is very excited when the filming locations for hc and empires cross over

plot! (in general lol)

i have no idea what any of the specifics are but i have a few bullet points for what i want to include

lizzie, jimmy, xornoth and scott all make a club for the most elaborate costumes (mainly later in the season where theyre fish gods, demons and covered in ice)

hermitcraft members also have elaborate costumes (again esp later in the season because of the whole mooner thing) and when theyre filming close together, theyll all go out for dinner in their costumes and completely baffle the regular people in the restaraunt

scott is gay panicking whenever hes around jimmy, which is chalked up to amazing acting by everyone but joel and lizzie who know exactly whats going on

by the time they act the date scene, both jimmy and scott are crushing hopelessly on each other, and it turns into one of the most emotionally charged scenes in the whole show because of this

when they travel to a beach for the 'would you still love me if i was a fish?' scene they all have a beach day

i also want to edit some of the actual plot of empires (cause thats what happens with books bein turned into tv) for instance, jimmy finds scott's body after the whole xornoth incident and its like 10x angstier and all the fans love it

anyway yeah! if i ever get round to it ill probably write a couple oneshots because thats easier than a full longfic. if anyone wants to draw/write something for it please tag me!

‘Just a second!’ Y/N called as she hurriedly tried to get off the couch. She was struggling though as the comfy cushions had sucked her in making it near impossible to get out of them. It also didn’t help that she had a baby bump the size of a watermelon slowing her down. It was Halloween night and though she could hear the merriment of the children in the street she hadn’t been able to participate and instead was stuck inside handing out candy to those that came by. 

She had been all ready to go. Her candy had been decanted into a bowl she was going to leave on the porch. Her costume was selected and matched her husband and little girls so well. But she hadn’t foreseen the snag in her plan. She knew it was going to be hard work waddling around the neighbourhood. But as they had all donned their costumes she had felt a familiar flutter in her belly. Her first contraction. 

‘But your due date’s not for another week!’ Joe said as he paced their living room wearing half of his Sully costume. She was dressed as Mike Wazowski, the eye on her bump. 

‘Yes Joe I know,’ she said, ‘but babies do come early remember.’

‘But we’re not ready,’ he said in a strangled voice. He was panicking.

She didn’t know why. They were ready for their son’s imminent birth and they had done it all before so it wasnt like they didn't know what they should be doing.

‘We’re all packed up and ready to go. My mom will come as soon as we ask her to. It’s all in hand,’ she said. 

‘But,’ he said looking up at her like a heartbroken kid, ‘trick-or-treating. We promised.’

Y/N sighed. As the pair of them fell quiet she could hear giggling from upstairs. She could picture her daughter sitting in her room playing, wearing the Boo costume she had been wearing all day and refusing to take off. 

‘You can take her,’ Y/N said. 

‘But you wanted to come,’ he said coming towards her, resting his hands on her bump. 

‘I know. But I ain’t gonna be able to trudge around this neighbourhood like this,’ she said as he leaned in and pressed a kiss on her forehead, ‘you two should go. She’s been excited for this all day.’ 

‘And you’ll call if you need me right?’ he said looking down into her eyes. 

‘You’re on speed dial,’ she chuckled. 

Once out of the couch’s grasp she waddled towards the door grabbing the bowl of candy off the sideboard. She hoped whoever was outside would be patient enough to wait given her incapacitation. She wrenched the door open and found a couple in front of her. 

‘Trick or treat!’ they both said with glee. Y/N smiled. Standing in front of her was a very familiar duo. Sully and Boo. 

‘Well, well, well, what do we have here,’ she said feigning ignorance. 

‘I’m boo!’ her daughter giggled poking her head out from under her hood. 

‘I can see that,’ she said, ‘and a very good boo you make!’ 

‘Boo wants candy!’ she said holding her very full pillowcase out in front of her. Y/N chuckled and dropped a handful of candy into her sack ignoring the sign she had written and placed in the bowl asking people to ‘just take one’. 

‘Thank you!’ her daughter giggled rushing inside and sitting in the hall. She dumped her candy out onto the floor ignoring her parents as her fingers raked through it trying to decide what she was going to eat first. 

‘And what are you?’ she said looking a Joe. 

‘He’s Sully!’ her daughter explained her mouth already full of a chocolate bar.

‘Oh yeah?’ Y/N said. 

‘It’s my wife’s favourite Disney film,’ Joe said with a smirk. 

‘And you did this to make her happy?’ she asked, ‘she must be a lucky girl.’ 

‘Oh she is. She’s even got me doing the trick-or-treating solo,’ he chuckled. 

‘Any excuse to sit in and do nothing huh?’ Y/N chuckled. 

‘I don’t know,’ Joe said coming towards her and wrapping his arms around her, ‘as excuses go she’s got a pretty good one.’

‘Maybe it’s all a ruse,’ Y/N said though her smile was cut short as another contraction hit. They’d been coming quicker and quicker since they had been out. And this one was a doozy. Joe held her as she breathed through the pain. 

‘You okay?’ he asked with a wince.

‘That was a big one,’ she panted. 

‘I think it’s time to call your mom to babysit,’ Joe said. 

‘Yeah, I think so,’ she said pulling back, ‘but I wanna do something first.’

‘What?’ he asked.

‘See your haul,’ she said and with that, she yanked his bag out of his hand to peruse his candy collection.

i dont really know who or how many people check my blog for updates on where im at with my writing and stuff but in honor of starting to come out of the fog im just going to like. level, really quick. writing is a personal affair intricately tied to what were coping with at the time so as i give updates for what i have planned im also going to talk about shit im going through so heres your warning now

you might have seen it in the a/n for brothers return for the whole ten seconds it was there before i backspaced it out of existence but a family member of mine died in october and writing- living, really- has been almost impossible since. its only just now starting to get easier.

we finally spread the ashes a couple weeks ago or so now and it feels. lighter, now. easier to breathe. i have his art hanging in my bedroom and im going to see my cousins again in a week and my foot is broken so i have all new things to focus on, and its. yknow. we move forward.

ive written a couple of things between now and october but looking at them they feel... short, and hollow, and i can tell i wasnt feeling what i was writing even though i convinced myself at the time that it was good enough. theres a very good chance ill try and rewrite brothers return and the second robin (i HATE those titles btw), because i feel like theyre fics that need to happen but its also. SO hard to write about resurrection when youre grieving?? lol??? like. someone in my life died and im never getting him back and now i have to put myself in dicks shoes where he DOES get jason back and its just. thats not easy, man. its suddenly become an almost impossible topic. but im hoping, now, that maybe i can finally reconnect with it and rewrite it in a way im actually satisfied with

snow day i will straight up be dubbing noncanon from now on. i doomed myself the second i wrote son of dent and made it so harvey and bruce have to not be dating the entire fucking time jasons a kid and ive managed to keep to that pretty well so far adn find wiggle room here and there but snow day was really. sldkjfnslkdnfsdf its a plot hole. its a huge plot hole. i wrote it because i wanted to write something that felt good not something that made sense and i SUCCEEDED but man does it not make sense. so im just gonna be striking it from the canon and keeping it up regardless.

moving into future fics, though. i dunno, man. i finally plotted out that detective au ive wanted to write for ages but its gonna be long and im scared to start it.

i did read all of damians preboot comics (or at least, the ones on the list i was given) (id read some before and ive read some n52 ones already so this was just filling in the last of the gaps (mostly his origin story)) and filled in the last of the preboot timeline (post jasons resurrection, idc about anything before that) so i feel prepared to write the next installment of the jdau, whatever that is, but i havent decided exactly what that is. itll probably be al ghul centric, tho. thats all i know tho! thats all i know

but i guess. keep your expectations low. im figuring things out. might reopen prompt requests soon tho, and im trying my absolute best

hi I know this is a long time late, but my Jsab Hyperfixation just resurfaced and I discovered your blog and JAAB. The new storylines were EPIC and I just wanted to know how are Swears and Friend doing? Is Swears ok? I was SO shocked when he got shattered while in TIO… I didn’t even comprehend that that was possible… maybe something was wrong with the tree? As in, like how the tree’s triangles gave TIO their power? That’d explain why it looked so weird afterwards. But yeah. Please send them a hug. Your Jsab blog was one of my favourites <3 thank you for making it. :)

AAH HI!! i literally woke up today thinking about jsab (and ja&b especially) and im really excited to see this ask because despite how long its been i still love talking abt it

Swears is okay! they've still got a crack from being shattered, but that's about the worst of it and they're proud of it because "haha yeah that sucked but i SURVIVED >:D"! the original plan wasnt for Sovereign (powered-up Sovi) to be able to full-on shatter TIO: instead they would've forcibly depowered them and everyone would've had to split up again to find another way. except when i started drawing the panels i changed the plan on the fly and had to run with the consequences

the reason Sovereign was able to shatter TIO in the first place was a mix of "Sovi is using the entire treeangle to power themself" and "Swears stole a fraction of their power". so, enough to transform, but not the same as having two triangle pieces making them completely invincible against Annihilate's single piece.

Friend's happy to have Swears back and as themself again, although they've still got some stuff to work through - something that came up a couple of times and that i wanted to focus more on sometime as part of Friend's storyline was how they were more prone to temporary shattering (and got completely knocked out of the fight against Annihilate) and how they felt useless compared to Swears as a result. when Swears seemingly got perma-shattered again, Friend tried to take up their mantle as the reckless afraid-of-nothing one.. except that also fell flat.

the plan was for this to eventually pay off with Friend helping Cube's sister Anvil (who'd gotten teased a couple times) against the next big threat and holding their own without Swears's help! and Swears would've realized how they contributed to Friend's insecurity (eg the argument they had in Clash that caused Awoo to get dunked) and do the whole "you don't need to prove yourself to me, i already know you're awesome" thing and try to be more outwardly supportive

me and my co-muns had a LOT of plans for how justasksandbeats was gonna go, but constant tech issues + burnout + life issues + general strife with the fandom combined into me not being able to do it anymore. if the other muns are okay with it though i can probably scrape together a recap of what was gonna happen! or at least the broad strokes of it, i tried to keep things loose to account for anon intervention or my own tendency to write on the fly :p

thank you so much for enjoying it!! despite the difficulties (dear god, the difficulties.. my poor tablet and computer...) ja&b was a lot of fun to make and it means a lot to me whenever people bring it up. glad to hear people are still discovering it even today!!
