*holds microphone up to pookie, do you wanna give me ideas for a mermaid/sea monster dazai / pirate chuuya AU? /nf :33
OOO that sounds fun, i can give you some headcanons that might help!!
i'm lowkey getting Moby Dick vibes, but instead of Chuuya searching for a great, mythical white whale, it's just a Dazai. :3
merman/sea monster Dazai ideas:
Chuuya's out here illegally fishing in uncharted waters because no one can tell him what to do and the waters far out to sea are quite literally a lawless land, but he's racing against time competing against other pirates
Dazai's supposed to be worth a pretty penny back on land, but all the fishing villages Chuuya came upon on land only spoke of some sort of vague creature that may or may not exist, so he's just patiently waiting until his line catches something out of the norm. he throws back all the fish and sharks he accidentally hooks.
Chuuya keeps changing his bait, and eventually he hooks something that says 'OW' and uhh, fish aren't supposed to talk?? when he looks over the railing and sees a tail flopping around above water, he's so confused and turns around and questions the nearby crew if they're messing with him, because it isn't funny
as he's reeling the line in slowly, the hook is caught in Dazai's tail :( Dazai flails around in midair and tells Chuuya, "Unhand me, heathen!" and smacks his tail against the ship
Chuuya's STILL confused, and did he accidentally drink seawater or something because is he hallucinating or seeing this right? a sea creature is speaking to him? he thinks it's a man who went overboard and he's not sure how he feels about saving this guy, Dazai's kinda staring daggers up at him despite being upside down
Dazai's in the bargaining phase and offers to lead Chuuya and his pirate crew to the great undersea treasure lost at the bottom of the ocean if he lets him go, dammit
a crewmember warns Chuuya this guy might actually be a siren trying to lead them all to their deaths. Chuuya thinks he has a good point, and threatens to harpoon Dazai. Dazai continues wriggling around and eventually frees himself and flops back into the water
still irritated by his poor tail getting caught, Dazai seems to retreat for a while and the waters become calm again until he returns with a vengeance and starts throwing things at the ship's hull, springing a leak
now Chuuya's annoyed because he worked hard for a lot of money for this ship and this guy won't leave them alone. he hears some sort of scratching like human fingernails against wood at some point, and when he looks over, he sees Dazai slowly crawling up the side of the ship?? it actually spooks him a lil when Dazai reaches the top
other Dazai/Chuuya hcs:
Dazai has pretty, iridescent scales that get duller if he's sick :(
he'd actually have a really pretty, albeit haunting, singing voice as a siren, but he sings about strange things like his prey's greatest fears. (he sings about loss and the crippling void left by losing everything he holds dear to Chuuya)
Dazai being some kind of underwater shapeshifter who can turn into a basilisk; you know you have the right guy because Dazai has literal snake eyes, forked tongue optional. and the sky turns dark and drizzled. he's just a sleepy, ancient guy and wants to be left alone and Chuuya's Not Wanted
admittedly, pirate!Chuu was in this for the money and/or poaching, but the fact Dazai speaks creeps him out
Dazai was rumored to be some sort of great leviathan who took no prisoners and this caught Chuuya's interest; a crewmember goes 'eek!' when they look overboard and see several glowing pairs of eyes looking up from the dark water
the bounty on Dazai's head turns into something more than just a trophy, people by the shore are legitimately terrified and Chuuya, as a renowned pirate, takes it upon himself to crack the case (probably a bad idea)
merman!Dazai likes sunbathing when he gets the chance, and he's accidentally beached himself a few times. sand does NOT feel good against his skin nor scales
alternatively: Chuuya's line hooks itself into one of Dazai's gills :(

ೃ  please do reblog if you enjoyed!! it really helps writers and content creators on tumblr! (feel free to add tags too because i love reading them and my heart swells with happiness when people love my work!)
ೃ after a million wedding videos and pinterest boards later, i’m excited to share with all of you my wedding hcs! these are short and a quick read so i hope you enjoy!  ♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-  you and your fiancé, katsuki, were arguing over the venue and the theme of the wedding. he wanted it to be a simple ceremony. perhaps taking place at just a regular event place- whilst you wanted the venue to be at a beach.
- it was a dream you had always wanted while innocently planning your wedding as a kid. so why not make it a reality?
-        The two of you peacefully decided on it over rock paper scissors. You won so… the beach wedding it is.
-        (Katsuki actually loved the idea of the beach wedding as much as you did. He just didn’t want to admit it.)
-        coral blue and oceana palettes, luscious palm trees swaying with the wind coming from the sea, the calming sound and view of the ocean, coral and shell designs hung everywhere, tables and chairs with little boho and aquatic inspired designs.
-        mitsuki bakugo insisted on making your wedding dress. you were overjoyed and deeply touched by her sweet gesture. As she wants the best for her beautiful and loving daughter in law after all.
-        The dress was one of the most angelic and heavenly gowns you have ever seen in your entire life. a long graphic lace gown with an open back and the edges of your white dress had frills like that of a mermaid tail. you wore a shell bracelet, to match with katsuki’s.
-        kirishima and kaminari jokingly dared bakugo to wear a tuxedo heavily inspired by the dc superhero, aquaman to keep the beach theme going. of course, katsuki ignored their suggestions and little jokes, opting for something of his usual style. his suit partially unbuttoned, tan rolled up-pants and matching shell bracelets with you.
- as you walk down the aisle, katsuki could not think of anything but the bursting feeling inside of him saying that this was it. this serendipitous event was going to signify the start of his life... his life with you.
- your beauty and radiance was like that of a mermaid, your (h/c) hair flowing with the wind and the ocean was there as if practically glowing for you. whereas he felt like a mere pirate who could do nothing but watch you from afar as he sailed the shores.
- yet here you are, about to approach him, to finally begin this momentous event.
- the gentle mermaid fell in love with the aggressive pirate. how sweet.
- you insisted on playing songs from the little mermaid during your walk down the aisle and during the reception, sadly, katsuki disapproved of both. with a little convincing and a dozen of cute pouty faces later, he agreed to have someone play a romantic song. just one.
- the two of you decided on someone performing a beautiful rendition of “can’t take my eyes off of you”
-        bakugo was about to cry while reciting his vows. Almost. He was totally going to shed some tears after the wedding ceremony, for only you to see, and before the two of you make your appearance at the reception.
- the wedding and the reception ends wonderfully as fireworks began to pop in the sky, colorful swirls as if they were coloring the sky, with one of the firecrackers even shaped as a heart. the reception continues with people dancing, and while your husband wasn’t one for festivities and dancing, he would give this day a pass as you bring him to the middle of the dance floor as the two of you dance the night away.
- “you’re just too good to be true...  Can't take my eyes off of you~ you'd be like Heaven to touch, i wanna hold you so much~”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-        shoto wants the most important day of his life to be reminiscent of a fairy tale as he wasn’t able to experience the wonder and the beauty of it as a child.
-        to keep the theme consistent, he rents out a quaint recreational woodland not far from the city.
-        he wants it to be perfect just for you especially since you’ve been dreaming of living a fairy tale for such a long time… and here you are now about to fulfill that dream.
-        the wedding starting at dusk, twinkling lights and garlands hanging around the trees, fairy lights sprawled about, blooming archways, lilac ash and sandstone pallets, long romantic banquet, and guests composed of his closest friends and family.
-        you’re dressed in a beautiful white (with pastel blue accents) floofy dress reminiscent of a fairy. embroidered with vines, satin flowers, and butterfly accents. instead of a veil, you’re wearing a flower crown decorated with pretty white daisies and leaves.
-        whilst shoto was wearing a suit reminiscent of peter pan. an exquisite blue suit with a peter pan lily as his boutonnière.
-        As soon as he sees you walking down the aisle, tears were about to stream down from his cheeks.
- the whole todoroki fam are at the brink of tears too, as these were one of the very rare times they see the youngest todoroki with the biggest smile and most blissful look on his face.
-        All of the guests stand up, each seat has one thin branch with attached handcrafted butterflies and fireflies for them to hold up and to illuminate your way to Shoto.
-        A musician strums their guitar and begins to sing “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis Presley.
-        He’s just beyond delighted to see you. As if flowers were blooming with every step you take, approaching closer and closer to him.
- “wise men say... only fools rush in... but I can’t help falling in love with you...”
-        You looked ethereal. Like a dawning light.
-        You continue to walk down the aisle, looking back at him. All the pure love and adoration you have visible in your eyes.
- midway through your vows, shoto couldn’t take it anymore and the tears just flowed down his face. you giggle lightly, the other guests were snickering along.  you bring him into a hug, kissing his tear-imprinted face as the two of you continue with the ceremony.
- It felt like an absolute dream. This was the best day of both of your lives after all.
-        “And they lived happily ever after.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- you and izuku  just wanted a simple yet still fancy backyard wedding.
- as the two of you wanted to spend most of your budget on traveling the world for your honeymoon trip instead.
- you could still make things absolutely beautiful and pleasing to look at after all. with your amazing teamwork and working on the planning together, you could manifest a delightful wedding.
- there wasn’t a particular theme per se. both you and izu weren’t really ones to go into specifics anyway. you just wanted to replicate a very light and airy feeling that can be seen in most dreamy weddings.
-  string lights hung everywhere, a huge whimsical canopy was built up on the yard with two iridescent chandeliers hanging on the inside, draped fabrics and lush, interwoven greenery, mint and powdered colored accents, and a mini bar at the entrance.
- all of the heroes that izuku had known all his life were invited to the wedding. and of course, they wouldn’t miss it for the world. with practically everyone attending the #1 hero’s big day.
- with the help of the girls from class 1-a and after several hours of trying on the most beautiful dresses, your heart was set on an embroidered tulle and crepe white gown. instead of a veil, you opted for a  white crown headpiece, resembling that of a halo.
- izuku on the other hand, at the behest of the boys of class 1-a, wanted him to wear something extravagant that could woo you. izuku disliked all the suits that they made him try out and instead went for a black suit jacket, dark blue dress shirt, and to complete the look, a cute little bow tie.
- you walk down the aisle, holding a bouquet of flowers, your calming and ever so beaming presence felt like the light that he had been looking for all his life.
-  izuku could just stare at you lovingly like this if he could. he fights the tears welling up in his eyes, but he knows he’s going to break soon.
- and he does. as soon as he starts reciting his vows, izuku begins to weep. the genuineness and the love that you could hear from his voice and from the emotions he was showing right now made you feel so warm inside.
- you hug him and squeeze both of his hands tight as he calmly yet emotionally goes through the entirety of his vow.
- at the reception, inko and all might offer a special toast to you and izuku. their speech composed mostly of doting words and a lot of light-hearted “parent” jokes.
- dekusquad + bakugo came up to the stage too to give their chaotic toast to the groom and bride, and the atmosphere and the mood became even more fun and lighthearted.
- as a surprise, you and izuku prepared a short musical number. the two of you were going to duet stand by me by ben e. king.
-  “when the night has come... and the land is dark... and the moon is the only light we'll see~ no I won't be afraid... oh, I won't be afraid. just as long as you stand, stand by me~”

So I actually wrote something instead of doing a pretty picture this time. It's a fairy bench trio AU that is actually co-authored in my opinion by @im-a-star-boy I came up the idea for the AU but they helped me with like all of the planning and story beats and ideas so in my opinion he's the co-author and if he wants to he can write for this au as well! We made this au together and I want to acknowledge that because he deserves credit. I'm stalling because I'm insecure about my writing but here you go it's my first time writing something in a long time and it's a little out of my comfort zone some things may be OOC because I've never written for these guys before
__________________________________________________________________________________
Ranboo was tired so very tired. he has been separated from his nymph for days, was it days? it might have been weeks possibly even months he couldn't tell anymore. he was hungry not finding any healthy flowers or fresh fruit that he could feed from which means he couldn't produce his dust as efficiently, the fairy dust that kept him alive. not to mention it was going to rain soon, he was a fairy with a rare allergy of sorts water burned like it was acid that's why he had been rejected by so many colonies in the past before being found by his kind-hearted but Stern nymph. unfortunately luck was not on his side and the rain began to fall burning his skin through his leaf made clothing. he tried his best to find shelter but he was so hungry and cold and burnt so the minute he found at least a little bit of cover from the rain he passed out of exhaustion.
meanwhile two boys are running through the forest trying to get back home, they had originally been messing around at the creek but as soon as the rain started to fall they knew they needed to get back. the shorter one with brown hair, Tubbo, running rather fast to escape the rain his taller blonde haired friend / brother maybe?? Tommy, wasn't far behind an arm over his head to protect himself from the rain. eventually when they got to a thicker part of the forest they slowed down, catching their breath as the thick trees shielded them mostly from the rain. Tubbo looked around for any cool rocks because everyone does that but found something interesting. "Hey toms! I found a little person!"he shouted to his friend as if that was a normal thing to say. "what the fuck are you on about?"said the taller blonde very used to his friend's habits at this point. "there's a little person! he's got wings and stuff"said the brunette picking something up from the ground before showing it to the taller. Tommy was very surprised when he found out his friend was telling the truth is that right there in Tubbo's hands was a tiny person only about 6 inches tall, his hair was black and white it looks like it should be split down the middle but it was messy so the colors mixed, he had a long tail that was almost as tall as him, it was long black and rather thin other than the tuft of black and white fluff at the end of it. he was wearing what looks like a little suit but it was made of leaves so it was rather torn up and ragged, on his skin one half of his face seemed darker than the other the lighter parts look like old scarring and it could be seen all throughout his body. he had dragonfly wings that had an iridescent heat to them mostly red and green all four of his eyes were closed and all four of his arms were wrapped around himself. "holy shit that looks like a little fairy!"exclaimed the blonde as he stared at the little creature and his friends hand "let's keep him! I mean he obviously needs a home" Tubbo was already tucking the little guy into his pocket as if it was a normal thing to find in the forest and bring home "we would have to hide it from everyone else"said Tommy still looking at the unconscious fairy "oh come on Wilbur won't notice Phil is too busy and tech is out on a trip! it's the perfect time to bring the little guy home!"he said quickly making his way to the house Tommy following behind both boys already talking about all the exciting adventures housing a fairy could lead to.
when Ranboo woke up he wasn't cold or burning. he was actually rather warm and lying on top of something soft, softer than the forest bed could ever be. he opened all four of his eyes to look around and he was in a very unfamiliar environment. he immediately set up and tried to flap his wings but they were waterlogged and would take a while to dry, needless to say he was very very scared. "it's awake!"shouted a large voice the fairy had never heard a voice that loud before and it caused him to cover those elf like ears of his. "stop shouting you're going to scare it"suddenly in front of Ranboo there was a big person with messy brown hair looking at him as if he were some kind of insect. "hey little guy!" not only was the fea absolutely terrified but he was also confused at being called little, the average fairy was 3 inches tall he was 6 inches tall, he had never in his life been called 'little'. "stay away from me!"the little creature immediately called out backing up as far away from the big creature as possible "whoa it just made noise" with all the brunette said and then Ranboo realized that they probably couldn't understand his language, it was a language of sounds and not words, only other fea could really understand it. "I think we scared it" said Tubbo looking at the fairy who was now shaking with something that wasn't cold "of course it's scared! it doesn't know us and we're like a thousand times its size"Tommy pointed out and he had a point. "it looks hungry we should feed it something" said the brunette gently using his pinky finger to ruffle the fairy's hair causing the little creature to jerk back "what does it eat? do we just like give it a piece of meat or something I mean it has pretty sharp teeth"upon hearing that Ranboo immediately shook his head no very quickly, Forest fairies like him could not digest meat at all. "you don't eat meat little guy?"questioned the brunette and got another shake of a head as an answer. "well what do you eat" Ranboo began looking around the room for any pictures of fruit or flowers, luckily he found a packet of flower seeds and held it up pointing at the flowers on the front, before looking to the window and pointing at the fruit trees outside. "you eat flowers and fruit?"he nodded "okay so Tommy and I are going to go raid the garden then you stay put"with that both of the humans left the room the fairy still didn't trust them but the idea of food was too good to pass up he was hungry really really hungry. didn't take the boys too long to return with some blueberries and freshly picked tulips setting them down on the desk "I can't believe we had to pick my perfect tulips for this"the blonde pouted "what we were just supposed to let him starve?" Tubbo retorted as he watched the fairy carefully as he picked up one of the blueberries, which was actually pretty big for him, and took a bite clearly happy and ate the thing quickly before going over to the flowers. the humans were expecting him to eat the petals or leaves or something but no he went for the nectar, flower nectar helps fairies produce fairy dust not to mention it makes fairies excellent pollinators. since the flowers have been severed they aren't producing any more nectar but they're still the leftover from when they were producing it, it was wonderful and sweet like any well taken care of flower's nectar should be. both of the humans were looking at the fairy with wonderment and somehow Ranboo felt like he could stay here, at least for a little while.

( Part One | Part Two (nsfw) )
___
You heard the distress call way before you realised that it was snowing.
Bolting out of your door into the late morning light, still wearing your pyjamas (because hello? It’s Christmas Day?!) and a long coat, you rushed to the lake shore to find Leyil lying out on the ice, looking like a landed carp, howling miserably at you.
“What? What’s wrong?”
“It’s so cold,” he whined. His claws scratched and scrabbled pathetically on the thick ice as he stretched out towards you, the tiny circle of his breathing hole visible just behind him.
“You’re lying on your belly on bare ice, of course it’s cold!” you scolded him. “What did you expect? And I thought your kind hibernated for the winter anyway? I haven’t seen you in weeks.” And you’d missed him too, and all his shy but somehow still sassy humour. He’d recovered well, and had nearly fished the little lake dry while he’d been recuperating, but things had calmed down now that he was healthy again.
“I… I should be hibernating,” he grumbled, rolling over onto his back and whining. “I just… You were talking about Christmas and snow and you seemed so excited about it…”
Your eyes went wide and you sank your hands onto your hips, astonished. “So you waited up for weeks just to see if the hype was worth it? You’re worse than a kid waiting up for Santa.”
He fixed you with his deep green eyes and shrugged. “I suppose. What’s Santa?”
You ignored his question, a plan already forming in your mind. “Well? Was it worth getting frozen on ice like a market-day catch?”
“Not so far…”
You rolled your eyes. “You want to come in and warm up?”
He blinked slowly, his third eyelid raking horizontally across his weed-green eyes. “You’d be ok with that?”
With a nod, you sighed. “Stay there. I’ll get the wheelbarrow.”
He’d been in the wheelbarrow a number of times before, exploring your tiny smallholding as you’d showed him the chickens and how to plant artichokes, but the metal of the barrow would be cold against his back so you nipped inside and flung a lurid, red tartan rug over it and then hurried back to where he lay on the thick ice of the pond.
“Tell me you’re not actually stuck to it,” you said and he shook his head.
“’M just cold,” he slurred. His skin was pale as the snow on the ground, and his black hair stood out in stark contrast, sticking pathetically to his scalp and his shoulders. It had grown even longer since you’d rescued him that summer, and somehow it made him more attractive to you. His body had filled out a little after the months of starving homelessness he’d suffered since his shoal had been forcibly moved from the lake, but his frame was still birdlike in its delicacy.
You’d got the hang of hoisting him up by his armpits into the wheelbarrow by now, and it was never elegant but it worked well enough. His siren’s tail was long, but he grabbed hold of the iridescent fluke and hoiked it out of the way while you wheeled him towards the house.
“I’ll run you a warm bath if you’d like,” you said. “Now that I’ve got the boiler running reliably, I’ve got more hot water than I know what to do with.”
“Really? Hot water?” he asked, practically wiggling out of the barrow in his excitement at the concept.
“Keep still, you overgrown eel,” you laughed and he dutifully promised to behave.
Leaning to one side, he trailed his clawed fingers through the six inches of snow, raking four furrows in the perfect whiteness, and he sighed. “I’ve never really seen snow before,” he said dreamily. “Normally we just sleep at the bottom of the lake until the water warms up enough for us to start hunting again…”
“The novelty wears off after a few days,” you muttered. “I’m fed up with scraping it off the truck so I can drive into town. You’re going to have to haul yourself into the house,” you added as you neared the steps. “I’m not sure I’m strong enough to push the barrow up the steps.”
“That’s alright,” he smiled before slithering out of the barrow like a fresh catch into a soft bank of snow, which made him yelp, but it had to be warmer than the water and the ice back out on his frozen lake. Using his powerful torso, he dragged himself easily up the steps to your little farmstead and you shoved the front door open for him.
He’d been inside before, and he immediately made for the sofa, curling himself up on it with a luxuriant sigh. It was only as he lay back and opened his eyes again that he spotted all the decorations. “What… What’s this?” he asked, pointing at the tree covered in baubles and glittering cut-glass decorations.
It took a while, but you explained the concept of decorating the house to celebrate the festivities, also showing him what Santa was, and he gasped when he saw the cut-glass mermaid’s tail you’d bought at the market the week before.
“Let me see it,” he begged, holding out his long-fingered hands until you brought it over to him. He turned it over and over in his hands, grinning dangerously until he finally asked, “Why do you have this?”
You shrugged, embarrassed. “I thought you’d never come indoors in the winter, so I wanted something that would make me think of you while you were asleep in the lake…” you admitted.
His pale cheeks flushed, the scales darkening in colour on his shoulders too, and you grinned.
“You like it?”
“Mmm” he hummed, offering it back to you.
Feeling brave, you leaned down and as you took it from him gently, you left a kiss on his cold cheek. His hands flashed up and grabbed you, drawing you close until you toppled down onto the sofa with him. It took a bit of adjusting, but finally you lay practically on top of the entire length of his body, and he grinned, nipping playfully at your neck. “It’s still strange to me that you have no gills,” he murmured after he’d raked his dangerously sharp teeth over your skin, following the gesture with a broad lick of his tongue. “And your skin is always so salty…”
“Hey,” you complained, but you realised it was probably true in comparison to his.
“I like it,” he smiled. “And you’re so warm…”
After a while, however, he started to shuffle. “What’s wrong?” you asked.
“I’m drying out…”
His fear of drying out again was completely understandable after having spent so much time begging near the chlorinated fountain in town. “Let me run that bath for you…”
His face did something complicated before he hid it behind a smile. “Thank you,” he said.
“I asked you here,” you said as you stood and headed towards the little bathroom next door. Your farmer’s hut was a very simple shack really, with an open plan living room and kitchen on the ground floor, and a bathroom at one end, and the staircase that led to the rafters on the second floor, where your low bed sat. And that was it.
Lying back in the tub a while later, Leyil let out a deep groan of pure joy. “This is wonderful,” he said, humming softly. Your ears began to buzz as his music filled your mind, and you remembered then that he was no ordinary merman, but a siren.
As if he too recalled that, he suddenly stopped, apologising.
“It’s ok,” you said as you sat on the floor beside him while his tail flopped out at the other end of the old tub. “I know you’re not going to lure me into a stupor and eat me by now.”
He surprised you again by taking up your hand from where it rested on the edge of the bath, and pressing a soft kiss against your knuckles. “Not everyone is so generous to my kind, you know?”
“I know.” Letting your fingertips play along his glacially pale arm, up to his shoulder, you watched as he shivered and then rolled his head back against the curve of the end of the free-standing bathtub.
“Leyil,” you breathed. “You’re so beautiful…”
His breath hitched visibly and his chest heaved once. Taking that as an encouragement, you worked your way down his white marble torso, playing lightly over the base of the fins at his hips until he whimpered and gripped the rim of the bath in a white-knuckled grasp.
“You want me to stop?”
“Never!” he gasped, his face flushing swiftly with embarrassment, right down to his prominent collarbones.
“Never?” you asked playfully and he groaned.
“You know what I mean…”
You did. You watched as the slit in his tail began to swell slightly, and as you ran your fingers inside the rim of the opening, you discovered a slickness that had nothing to do with the warm water.
“Ohhhh,” he sighed, and water sloshed over the side onto the tiles and into your lap as he bucked.
You didn’t stop.
In a few minutes, his slit began to pulse beneath your touch, and the tip of his pale blue cock began to emerge. Leyil was gasping and moaning, not holding back the power of his voice, and you began to touch yourself in a matching rhythm.
“Leyil, look at me,” you hissed as he arched his spine powerfully, fins flaring, neck on show as he tipped his head back again with a loud moan.
Leyil’s eyes rolled open dazedly and he fixed you with an unfocused look. “What?” he murmured. “Oh spirits, look at you…” he added when he took in the sight of you touching yourself. “Let me sing for you? Let me… please?”
You nodded and his cock slid all the way out, writhing idly in the warm water. It was ridged and slick beneath your fingers, and so hard that every time you slid your hand up to his arrow-head tip, he let out a panting whimper. “Sing for me then,” you murmured.
His song was like nothing you’d ever heard. Sure, you’d caught snatches of the refrains he sung to himself out in the lake as he hunted or patrolled the edges of the body of water that was now his own, and he’d even sung gently for you that time you’d nearly drowned wading out to apologise to him for some empty words spoken in anger, but he’d never unleashed the full power of his siren’s voice, and never just for you.
As you worked him harder, your fingers gripping him firmly, working him from base to tip, he called a wild, ululating song, part chorus of moans, part love melody, until your vision blurred and your chest felt like it was going to explode.
“Leyil, I’m close,” you said, still with your other hand tending to your own body, even as you worked him closer and closer.
All his fins fanned wide again as his back arched and he yelled. His cock broke through the surface of the water and you came hard at the sight of him, his song filling your head like a summer day. As your concentration was broken, so your attentions on his painfully-hard cock slowed, and he choked something in disappointment, but when you recovered, you found him watching you, his voice silent now but his eyes still speaking volumes.
With a trembling finger, you ran your touch around the inside of his swollen, slick slit, and he jerked wildly again, more water slopping over the edge of the bath onto the tiles. You repeated the gesture, leaving his cock untouched for the time being, and as he began to tremble, shake, and almost convulse, you wondered if you could make him come from this alone.
After the fifth time stroking his sheath, you felt it contract and pulse, and he bent forwards, his abs tensing, almost folding himself in half, and he screamed his pleasure so loudly that your ears almost hurt. He covered his chest in his release as he twitched and flailed, voice cracking with the force of his orgasm.
When he finally slumped back into the half-empty tub, he was spent and exhausted, his eyes closed, his mouth open, and his cheeks flushed pink.
“Happy Christmas, Leyil,” you smiled when you saw the state he was in.
“Definitely worth it,” he slurred without opening his eyes. “Happy Christmas…”

A Reel Catch
Pairing: Roceit (fic and fanart)
AU: Mermaid
Word: 3126
Warnings: Mentions of blood, mentions of death, slight panic.
Summary: Would you smooch a merman?
Merry LATE christmas and birthday @suicidal-maffin
I hope this was worth the wait!
Roman Kingsly loved long walks on the beach, no matter how cliché it was. It was the time he got to himself after a busy day of working at the theater. He was still dressed in the costume he made himself for tonight’s performance.
A prince.
A regal white and gold outfit with a red sash.
He stood, looking at the setting sun, the feeling of the sand between his toes as the cold ocean runs over his feet calming him. He let out a sigh as he began walking again, letting his stress wash away with every lap of the cool waves against his ankles. He followed the thin stretch of beach, pausing when he saw what looked to be a sleeping person on the beach. The waves crashed over them, obscuring their body from view for a few seconds at a time, though they didn’t move.
“Excuse me, Sir, Ma’am?” The man called out, taking a few hesitant steps forward.
No response.
“Are you hurt?”
Still no response.
‘Calm down Roman, they could just be a deep sleeper.’
He walked up to the still form cautiously, his movements slow - unsure. As the man’s body was illuminated in the dying light of the sunset, Roman let out a soft gasp. They weren’t… human. Or rather, not fully. At least half of his body was that of a human, if a little…. Strange. But rather than legs, a long fin wound around itself in the sand.
“Mermaid?” he breathed out in shock before blinking himself out of his trance.
Something was wrong.
The creature wasn’t breathing.
Tangled up in a fishing net.
Hooks stuck out of their skin.
A large gash on their side soaked the sand in red.
Roman looked around, knowing he should probably call the police, but… what would happen to this poor creature? Who would even believe him? Most people didn’t even think mermaids were real.
Hell, Roman didn’t think they were real until hardly a few seconds ago.
He took a breath, working as quickly as he could to get the not-so-imaginary creature untangled from the netting, and picked all the hooks out of his skin. He looked down at the creature and bit his lip in thought. He couldn’t just toss him back into the ocean. He could die. With shaky hands - and a made up mind - he took his handmade princely coat and wrapped it around the creatures tail, cradling him in his arms as though he were the perfect bride.
“Okay, now to get you to my truck without anyone noticing,” he mumbled to himself.
Thankfully, he didn’t have much issue getting back as the theater parking lot was empty and the lights inside the building were off. Getting the creature home, having broken a few speeding limits, he brought him inside before he risked being caught by any of his neighbors. He quickly rushed to the bathroom, filling the tub with lukewarm water. Resting the creature in the tub for a moment, Roman turned the light on.
He gasped.
The creature was absolutely beautiful.
His gray-violet skin appeared smooth but for a few scales that were scattered over his chest and face, glittering in the light as though they were made from gold dust. Brown hair fell across his forehead, perfectly framing the beauty of the creature’s face. If not for the insanely long and iridescent tail that occupied most of the tub, immediately drawing Roman’s eyes, he would have spent more time admiring his beauty.
He felt bad.
The creature’s tail was all scrunched up, curling over itself to fit in the tub. Roman looked down and saw that the water rising over the creature’s form was a deep red. Cursing to himself, he let the water drain while he dropped to his knees, opened the cabinet under his sink, and dumped everything out until he found a first aid kit. He found some bandages and propped the creature up on his arm before beginning to clean and wrap his torso.
“How did this happen…?” he whispered softly, though he knew he was speaking to no one but himself.
Once the creature was bandaged, he plugged the tub again, watching it fill. He noticed that the creature was breathing - albeit very small breaths - which made sense as to why Roman thought he wasn’t breathing when he had only seen him in the dull light outside. He breathed a sigh of relief and sat down on the floor. Once the water was filled as high as it could go, he turned off the tub.
There was a merman in his tub.
A freakin merman!
What do mermen eat?
He rested his head against the wall, watching the other, eyes feeling heavy. It wasn’t late, but it had been a long day, and god was Roman tired. His eyes slid shut as the creature’s patterned black and yellow tail seemed to shine.
***
Dee awoke to feeling cramped and in pain. He let out a groan, eyes snapping open as water didn’t enter his mouth like it should. He squinted his eyes as the bright artificial light burned and seemed to be brighter because of the white tile walls of the bathroom. When he turned his head to see a human man - shirtless, the unnatural light showing every curve of his muscled form - sleeping against the wall near him, he jumped, trying to get away. His tail writhed in the already-overfilled tub, splashing water out onto the man, which caused him to wake with a sharp gasp.
“Ah! What the hell?!” He shouted, the noise startling a hiss from the merman. The human blinked as his eyes landed on Dee. “Oh. It wasn’t a dream. Mermaids are real,” he said with astonishment. Dee’s chest was heaving, making him wince every time as pain shot through his side. He was as far away from this human as he could possibly be, given the circumstance he found himself in. Roman noticed his fear and put his hands up as if to show he wasn’t going to harm him. “Hey, it’s okay,” he reassured him, keeping his tone soft. “Do you know what I’m saying?” The creature looked at him with a glare, fear still in his eyes, though it was obvious that he was trying to hide it now.
“Of course I know what you’re saying; I’m not an idiot!” He snapped. Roman’s eyes watched the others mouth, seeing the sharp teeth. He gulped, only now realizing that he had brought a creature - that he had no idea what it was capable of - into his home.
Fuck.
“Okay, look, I’m sorry. I just discovered mermaids actually exist. Sorry for not automatically knowing that you speak English,” Roman spat out, trying to not seem suddenly scared. Roman went to stand up, the sudden movement startling the merman as his tail writhed again, trying to push him further away from the moving human, but with a wall there, he had nowhere to go. Roman blinked, sitting back down, looking at the other.
“I’m sorry. I-um…do you have a name?” Roman asked timidly.
“Of course I have a name,” the merman huffed, rolling his eyes. Roman watched as his chest stilled heaved with fear. When the creature didn’t continue, he spoke up again.
“May I know your na-”
“No!” The other snapped again, the tip of his tail rattling slightly, much like a snake. Roman kept his hands up defensively for a second before dropping them in defeat at his sides. “I’m sorry. I didn’t have any other choice but to bring you here. You were wounded.” He motioned to the bandage that had a dark red blood stain on it. The merman looked down, touching his side with a wince before looking up in confusion.
“You….helped me?” His voice was unsure, his words coming out hesitantly.
“Of course I did. Why wouldn’t I?” It was Roman’s turn to be confused, a single brow raising on his forehead.
“Well, sorry that most humans I’ve met have tried to capture or kill me on sight. Not that most merpeople are any better. It’s more of an every-merperson-for-themselves situation,” he snapped, crossing his arms over his chest. As he did so, he felt the gash in his side throb painfully, and a wince must have crossed his face, because Roman’s eyes softened, looking at the bandage.
“Is that how… that happened?” He looked up to meet the other’s impossibly golden eyes. “Humans, I mean.”
He sighed softly, sinking into the water more, curling his tail into coils so it all fit into the confines of the small porcelain tub. “Both, actually. Some merpeople led me to the fishermen, and then the fishermen tried to kill me from there.”
Roman gasped softly, covering his mouth. “That’s rude. Why would they do that? What did you ever do to them?”
“Well,” he stated matter-of-factly. “They were my brothers. Our mom died giving birth to me.” He shrugged, looking out the window of the bathroom. “Mother’s are the only type of merperson one of us will care about.”
Roman’s heart softened for the snappy mermaid in front of him. “Considering you don’t exactly have anyone to go back to, you’re welcome to stay here if you’d like. Or if you need a place. I can order a bigger bathtub for you. Or a big fish tank? Is that racist? Or…species-cist? I’m sorry if that’s offensive-”
The man’s gaze lowered away from the merman, his hand coming up to awkwardly rub at the back of his neck.
He was rambling.
He was definitely rambling.
He had just asked this scarily pretty merman to live with him.
He had just met him.
But it wasn’t like he could just send him back to his brothers.
He would be killed!
A deep, rumbling laugh pulled Roman out of his thoughts in an instant.
He looked up to see the other’s mouth - full of sharp teeth that glinted in the light - wide open in a laugh as he winced, hand going clutching his side over where Roman knew the wound was, unable to stop laughing. Roman’s face warmed, a blush painting itself across his cheeks as he watched the other laugh, his heart pounding as his stomach dropped.
Oh sweet Meryl Streep.
I’m gay.
I’m so gay.
I’m going to die.
This is how I die.
Here lies Roman Kingsly, death by gay.
This is my legacy.
The merman’s laughed calmed down, cheeks flushed a deep shade of yellow as he looked at the man staring at him with wide eyes. The flush in his cheeks deepened and he scoffed.
“Take a picture, it will last longer,” he teased, enjoying the way the other’s face seemed to turn even redder. Roman huffed and rolled his eyes.
“I’m going to get up. Are you okay with that?” He asked cautiously, to which the merman nodded slowly, watching the other.
Roman stood slowly, watching the other for any sign of fear in his eyes. While there was some, the merman stayed mostly calm. Roman stretched, the merman getting a good look at the human in front of him as he did so. He was fit, tan, and dare he say…cute? For a human, anyways.
The merman shook his head to clear his head.
Roman looked down and held out a hand. “My name is Roman. Pleasure to meet you Mr. Merman!” he grinned charmingly at the other, wanting to ease some of the tension between the two of them. The merman blinked, tilting his head curiously at the outstretched hand before looking up at Roman in silent confusion.
Roman chuckled, feeling his heart skip a beat at the frankly adorable look. “It’s a handshake. Put your hand out like mine.”
The merman put out his left hand. Roman let out a hearty laugh, making the merman scowl and withdraw his hand with a hiss.
“Oh, no, no. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to laugh; it was just cute. You need to put out the other hand.”
“Don’t laugh at me again…” he said almost defensively. Roman smiled softly and nodded. The merman put out his right hand.
“I’m going to grab your hand. Not hard and not to hurt you, okay?” The sea creature nodded and Roman grabbed his hand, giving him a slow hand shake. “Hello, my name is Roman. Pleasure to meet you. Your name is?” The merman looked at their hands holding each other, his face flushed yellow again.
“Dee. My name is Dee.” Dee looked up at Roman from the tub. “Would you really let me stay here?” It’s not like he had anything waiting for him in the ocean. He kinda hated it. It was boring to him.
“Well yeah. Your brothers are trying to kill you over something you can’t control. I can’t just send ya back out there. Besides it will take some time for you to heal.” Roman blushed, looking down at the others tail, wondering what would be big enough for it. Finally getting a good look at the other, he noticed all the scars and missing scales, feeling his heart ache for Dee.
“Well I’ll give you an answer once I’m healed.” Dee smirked at the slightly deflated look on Roman’s face. He wasn’t completely convinced Roman wasn’t trying to just keep him captured for money or something of the like, but he did need to heal, so for now, he’d stay here.
***
The next month passed with a domesticity that both of them quickly became accustomed to. Roman ended up buying a big fishtank that barely fit in his living room, but it gave Dee room to stretch out his tail, so it was worth the trouble. Roman would go to work and be gone half the day, and at night, he would come home with fresh fish for Dee, making dinner for himself while Dee.
Roman made a steak one day and Dee practically started drooling, making a weird chirping sound. It didn’t take long for the human to figure out that it was the sound merpeople made when they wanted to hunt something, and he decided to give in. After teasing Dee with the meat for a bit, he gave him a bite, and it was immediately learned that he loved red meat.
The two of them got to know each other really well, spending every spare moment talking over whatever tv show or movie Roman had put on. They talked about their lives - Roman’s as a budding actor and Dee’s as a merperson. Roman asked as many questions about Dee’s life as he could, and Dee would give a warm smile for a moment at the thought of someone caring enough to ask questions about him.
Roman took extra care of Dee’s wounds, changing the bandages every day, even having to stitch one one up. He made sure he cleaned them, even when Dee hissed and clawed at him from the strange stinging it caused.
Within the month, Roman came to learn that Dee was part eel - rather than the ordinary version of a mermaid that he had come to think about - as he began to “shed” his slime. It became so bothersome to Dee that at that point, Roman had to jump in the tank with him to help him as there were no rocks or plants to swim through.
Dee’s face was a deep yellow shade at the prospect of Roman having to help him get rid of his slime, but the minute the others hands were on his tail, he let out a gasp and shuddered slightly, his entire tail shivering as his eyes fluttered shut. Roman pulled his hands back, scared he had hurt the other, to which Dee groaned in annoyance.
“You okay, Dee?” Roman asked, feeling the slime that was on his hands from just the little touch. Dee nodded slightly in response.
“Yeah. Just…not used to anyone touching my tail like that.” Dee kept his eyes cast downwards, which was strange for him. Even when startled, Dee always looked at Roman.
“Okay. I’m going to touch your tail again…”  Roman said hesitantly, it being made clear by his tone of voice that he was asking permission.
When Dee nodded, Roman put his hands back on the other’s slimy tail and begin gently rubbing the slime off. Dee, who’s entire face was yellow at this point, shivered at every touch of his tail. With how long his tail was, it took Roman a good 10 minutes to finish. The water was a murky grey color and felt almost thicker than before. Roman looked at the water curiously as Dee, breathless and flustered, looked at Roman.
“Ro…?” Dee’s voice was soft - which was also unusual for him, Roman noted to himself.
“Yeah, Dee?” Roman looked up with a soft smile.
“You know that thing that the people in your romance movies do?” His voice shook and he moved a little closer to Roman, making the other blush, now just fully aware at only being in underwear.
“Which thing?”
“The thing with the mouths.” Dee licked his lips as Roman’s face flushed, his eyes took a quick look at Dee’s lips. He was shocked when he learned during one of their movie nights that most merpeople don’t kiss. And he’d be lying if he said he hadn’t dreamt of kissing him - sharp teeth and all.
“You mean kissing?” Now Roman’s voice was shaky. Dee nodded softly, their bodies flush against each other now, the feeling of the merman’s chest cool against Roman’s.
“Can…can we do it?”
Roman, once the question was muttered, pressed his lips to the other’s without hesitation. Dee let out a very undignified squeak as he turned deep yellow once more before kissing back, quickly learning how it worked. Dee’s tail wrapped around the others body protectively, keeping him close as they kissed softly in the murky grey water of the tank. They slowly sank below the water, neither caring as Dee just kissed oxygen into the other’s mouth. Popping out of the water a few minutes later, Roman gasped for air as Dee chuckled, wide grin on his face. Roman’s red face looked at Dee’s yellow one before they both stopped laughing, going back in for another kiss. Dee pulled back with a chuckle after only a moment.
“If it wasn’t obvious, that was my answer as to whether or not I’m staying.”
At Roman’s gasp, Dee let out a deep, rumbling chuckle before pulling him in for yet another kiss. As new as he was to it, Dee had to admit… he liked kissing.

Chapter Seven: A New Light
T.W. minor torture at the beginning
Anti’s P.O.V.
I let out a horse scream as I feel the demons burning arms reach into my neck through the slit reaching for who knows what this time. But I can’t find it in myself to care, all I can think about was Jack. That Jack was here, and he saw me and the demon that our mother tried to sacrifice the two of us to. But I don’t care about that, I just hope that he forgets what he saw, or at the very least believe it was just a dream, he doesn’t deserve to suffer with the knowledge that there’s a demon inside of him.
I let out another out another scream as I feel the demons arms pierce into my spine twisting it in ways it shouldn’t. I force my thoughts back onto my brother and I can feel myself crying from the pain for the first time in a long time as I get the image of the girl, Liru I think is her name, comforting Jack. Good, she’s a good soul-mate for him, she’ll keep him safe where I can’t, she won’t leave him behind.
I scream again as the demon forces my head back and used two of it’s arms to hold my left eye open, the arms burning everything it touches. It stares down at me, sick pleasure in it’s beady eyes as I begin to freak out.
“No,” My voice is hoarse as I seen one arm lowering down towards it, “no no no no no N̶O̶̢͏!͝” I quickly block out my connection with Jack, refusing to let this thing see what brings him comfort and twist it until he can’t even look at her anymore. And for the first time in years, I scream for Jack as it pierces my eye.2
Liru’s P.O.V.
As I walk into the room I see Jack clutching one of the pillows looking a bit tense as he jerks in his sleep every once in a while. The distress emitting from him was almost nauseating. I quickly set the scythe against the wall and walk quickly over to him, putting the box on the nightstand, and bend down grabbing his arm gently and instantly my mind flashes to a room light only by a candle covered wall to wall in dolls and figurines with a guy only a year younger than Jack, with teal hair and… he has both mine and Jack’s soul-mark hooking at the back of his neck.
‘He’s one of Jacks brothers…’ As I realize this I can feel the soul-mark on my right hand, A golden Pocket-watch with it’s chain wrapped around my wrist and two silver hands, moves. I quickly pull my hand away, confused, looking at the mark I can see that the hour hand had moved from the 10 to the 11.
‘What. The. Fuck. You know what, I’ll deal with it later.’ I look back down at Jack a bit worried as he is still distressed but it doesn’t seem to be hurting him, and I shouldn’t wake him up when he was as tired as he was.
‘But that dream.’ That… didn’t feel like a dream. I take a deep but shaky breathe as I force his distress out of my mind and stand up. As I do a feel Izzy rubbing against my legs and I let out a small laugh as I bend down giving her a quick pet before going over to the full body mirrors and taking off the cloak and tossing it over a chair, I look at the damaged shirt seeing the large hole(s) and I can’t help but pout a little at the ruined fabric before just taking it off and throwing it on top of the cloak.
I bring my hand up examining it, rubbing my thumb over the hands in confusion before I freeze hearing Jack whisper in his sleep.
        “JJ…?”
I jerk out of my frozen state at the feeling of shock and confusion coming from the watch and just as quickly as it hit me it disappeared leaving my own confusion and shock behind. I look back towards Jack confused and a little worried but he doesn’t seemed to have gotten worse. After a few seconds I turn back to the mirrors though keeping an eye on him in the mirror.
I look over the soul-marks over them chest, arms, face and stomach looking at them with interest, silently counting them for the thousandth time. I have fourteen on my arms, stomach, chest and face although I’m more focused on the wings wrapped around the lower part of my back and stomach, uninterrupted by the scars having healed over them. They were a beautiful emerald green covered in a black smoky fog only allowing flecks of the of the emerald feather beneath it to show through.
As I stare at it a feel the hairs on the back of my neck raise up and as I look up and I can see Τριφύλλι standing in the corner of the room, an angry aura around him. I roll my eyes in annoyance, already knowing how prudish they’re being right now.
“Honestly Τριφύλλι it’s just a body, If you keep acting this prude I'll start calling you purity.” I smirk at the sour feeling he gives off reaching up and taking the gems out of my hair and with little hums, they appear in one of the jewelry boxes on the vanity.
I roll my eyes again at they’re childish demand at me to put a shirt on before Jack wakes up.
“I highly doubt he’ll freak out if he see’s me without a shirt on.” I take my hair out of the braid letting it cascade down to the back of my heel, before looking back at the two pairs of wings wrapped around my stomach from my back. The Emerald feathers covered in the thick black smoke and the white iridescent feathers threatening to be covered by the same type of smoke, both covered in faded runes and sigils.
“Besides,” I say turning to them, “I need to do something anyways.” I look over to Jack slightly worried before looking who was laying on her paws at the end of the bed staring at me with wide eyes. I walk over to her and she sit up to meet my hand, petting her gently.
“Keep an eye on him, okay Baby girl?” She just lets out a purr in response giving my wrist a quick lick before going and laying on him. I turn to Τριφύλλι with a slight glare on my face my voice a bit harsher than intended, but oh well.
“If you or any of the other harm a hair on his hand I'm ripping you guys apart.” I give a sweet smile, ignoring the angry cold radiating from him as I go over to Jack and as I go to kiss his cheek, I freeze seeing the grassy green tuft of hair. I tilt my head studying it before whispering,
“Add that to list of things I need to figure out.” I quickly give him a peck on the cheek before leaving the room quickly, going towards the apothecary room, listen to the storm begin to waver as I walk there. When I get there I just walk in quickly where I see Mai sitting on top of a jar of paint I made with two paint brushes in her mouth. I giggle a little walking over to her and grabbing the paint brushes from her mouth.
        “Thank you, Mai.”
        “You’re welcome!”
I just smile in return before picking up the jar and letting her hop onto my shoulder before walking out of the room and walking to the short cut door to an, other wise closed off room of the castle. I was a large almost empty room, made of tree roots that held up the libraries, except for the circle that covered most of the room with a constant pour of water into making it a wall of water, lightning bugs were every were on the outside of the wall of water lighting up the room like little yellow moons.
And last but not least, a Lavender soul with Lilac eyes, I made them them accidentally recently, they didn’t have any distinct for except for the eyes, they were always curious but to scared to leave the room so I brought a bunch of lightning bugs and plants and flowers to keep them entertained, sometimes they’ll even listen to me sing when I am painting the sigils on my soul-marks.
I tried to see if they had a name at first but it seems they didn’t so I decided to name them Robbie, I guess in away he’s my child because I created his soul which is interesting to me because they’re the soul that goes to the Lavender and Lilac yin like symbol.
As I walk into the room the soul, Robbie seems to perk up and zip from the other side of the room over to me, much like I would when I was younger with Τριφύλλι until I realized it didn’t like it.
“Hey Robbie.” I say my voice quiet as I closed the door and Mai hopped from my shoulder to my hands to the floor, staying away from the water. I give Robbie a pat before walking through the water, the water vaporizing quickly as I walk to the center of the circle, feeling the pulses of life from the roots as I open the jar of paint setting it at my feet putting the brushes in it.
The paint was made from certain potion mixtures that are meant to act has protection for my soulmates, which is why they are painted on their soul-marks. I want to protecting them from whatever was trying/corrupting them. I stand up as straight as I can, staring through the water to where Robbie was surrounded by the lightning bugs. I take a deep breathe closing my eyes focusing on myself and as I do I can feel my head become heavier as I feel my horns begin to form, my skin begins to itch before patches of scales grow out and I can feel my back burn as my wings come out of my back held in place by the long black bony arms and hands holding them in place.
I wince a little as I feel my teeth sharpen to be more like a dragons, more jagged and ready to kill, my tail uncurls laying in a circle around me the feathers laying flat against it the spike letting out a small rattle as it lays on the floor. I wince at the sounds the buzzing from the bugs, the breathing from Mai, the now roaring of the water. The brightness from the lightning bugs and the glow from my own horns. The smells from the room thankful that it was only this room I could smell, the flowers, the fresh water, the smell of Birds of Paradise, rain water and fresh grass.
        ‘Robbie.’
I open my eyes knowing that they went back to looking like the universe, looking directly at Robbie before I begin to sing.
“If I could begin to be
half of what you think of me
I could do about anything
I could even learn how to love.”
I hear the paint brushes mix in the jar before lifting up and beginning to paint on the wings as I focus on those two alone and I shiver a bit at the cold of the paint.
“When I see the way you act
Wondering when I’m coming back
I could do about anything
I can even learn how to love like you.”
I’m beginning to get flashes of someone that looks like Jack but around a year or so older, with a halo and two large white iridescent wings and I can feel the awe come over me before fear as I see what look like void demons called Nuboj, Clouds. They eat away at anything beautiful.
“Love like you”
It takes years for them to get their hosts to kill themselves, and the worse part is that they have to be offered to them by those that they are supposed to be able to trust.
“I always thought that I might be bad
But now I'm sure that it’s true
‘Cause I think you so good
And I'm nothing like you.”
My mind flash to another one but this time it made my heart freeze and my singing stutter for a second, the brushes painting like nothing happened. This one had a black eye with a neon green iris and one of Blue Lapis with a slit throat to top it all off.
“Look at you go
I just adore you
I wish that I knew
What makes you think that I'm so special.”
I recognize that demon, αφέντης των μαριονετών, the Master of Puppets, they can only control people who have been merged mind, body and soul but it seems it was only the body- JACK.
“If I could begin to do
Something does right by you
I would do about everything
I would even learn how to love.”
I feel my heart begin to pound as I force myself to focus on the sigils, ignoring the anger threatening to take hold and cause me to lash out, they’re almost done and to concentrate I force myself to focus on Jack, the happy times hopping he’ll be able to see even a little bit.
“When I see the way you look
Shaken by how long it took
I could do about anything
I could even learn how to love like you.”
I take a deep breathe focusing on what makes me happy right now who I love ‘Jack.’ I feel my heart speed up a little at the memory of his smile, his real smile.
“Love like you.”
I feel my body relaxing, a plan on what to do already forming in my head.
“Love me like you.”
The paint brushes went back into the jar and I can feel the runes dry and I let out a shaky breathe as I force my horns away feeling my head become lighter, then I fold my wings back into my back. I wince as I feel my teeth go back to how they normally are, sharper than a humans but not enough to notice unless looking closely, I then curl up my tail hiding it and finally force my scales back to skin.
I take a few deep shaky breathes before picking up the jar and brushes and walking out of the circle the water evaporating rather quickly and Robbie, once again, zips over to me. I smile at them and pat them gently,
“Do you want to come with me or stay?”
They move back a little indicating they wanted to stay and I just smile saying, “Alright then, I’ll see you later sweetie.” I walk out of the room and back into the apothecary setting the jar on the counter, Mai hopping up next to it just as the door closes.
“I’ll see you in a bit Mai, go find Serenity and don’t start a fight with Pumpkin.” I giver her a scratch under her chin before going back to my room humming small tune along the way. When I walk into the room I seeing Jack tossing and turning and I frown before walking over to the mirrors, summoning sapphire blue satin blouse with slightly puffy sleeves towards the wrists. I quickly slide it on and button up and as I finish buttoning the third button from the blouse up, Jack lets out a scream that shakes the room, probably even the castle, and an explosion of green lightning bursting from his body.
        “ŖUN̷ JA̡CK P͢L̸EASE!͞”
The fear and pleading from whatever voice forced it’s way into my head nearly knocks me off my feet when I was running over to Jack. I grab onto Jacks arm and nearly winces at the lightning branching from him, shaking him trying to wake him up not sure how and I nearly pass out at the same voice nearly identical to his forces it’s way into my head again and I can hear the αφέντης των μαριονετών, roaring in the background.
        P҉LEASE̸-”
I shake Jack harder, begging him to wake up at this point, terrified at the thought of the demon hurting him, and after a few seconds the lightning disappears, and Jack wakes up, baby blue eyes wide and terrified as he looks into mine. I can hear his heart racing widely as he searches my eyes and after a few seconds, his own begin to tear up as he launches himself into my arms wrapping my in a tight and desperate hug as he begins to cry.

Pirate Au pt6
Omg I’m sorry I took so long, but I added sketches at least >>
What was he supposed to say?
'Oh I've just been informed you were the pet of my ass of a brother!'
This was ridiculous, it should not be so difficult to enter his own private chambers, it was his room and yet somehow he felt he was invading Acylius's personal space!
Was Flug mad at him because he appeared or acted like his sibling, after all he knew him to not exactly be that of a decent nature...neither was he but at least he had standards.
Pacing in front of his door, looking up only to glare at crew members who dared to even look funny at him, Mew Mew Loaf still in her water bubble was gently biting the end of her tail before letting go and doing it all over again.
Thinking back to that night when Flug had been desperately pulling his mask back on, how it'd caught on one ear fin made of black spines and beautiful iridescent peacock coloured membrane.
He'd even been so fortunate as to catch a glimpse on one corner of his lips, scarred, something had been done to them, though Black Hat had at least had the sense to realize that Acylius wanted to keep his face hidden, so instead of ripping the mask off he helped him to carefully pull it back down.
That tender moment where Flug had leaned into his palm only to immediately move after catching Demencia's scent... It made sense, his merman...whom he hoped he could belong to one day...but would that happen or would he believed he was always being deceived thanks to Thaddeus's (White hat) behaviour.
Now understanding Acylius's situation he realised the full extent of why the merman recoiled from him, what reason did Flug have to believe they were different, apart from how they lived, one on the sea and one below.
Then there was the given fact, he himself was the most feared being from this universe to the next...
Acylius had learned remaining quiet and out of the way to certain beings, unless he was being pulled about and paraded like some show animal or trophy.
A small mew broke through his endless trail of thoughts, looking down at Mew Mew loaf, she stared back with big black dare he think it, adorable eyes, her gaze soon shifting to the door and then him again...oh she wanted to see her companion.
Black Hat knew he should really go in, talk to him, let Acylius know he would not let Thaddeus take him, he was safe here...but what did safe even mean to a merman like him, it would all be honeyed words to someone who had spent who knows how long with White Hat...there were only two people that creature cared for, himself and Slug.
He and Thaddeus might be brothers in species and of the Earth they crawled out from but gladly they would throw the other into a volcano if it would actually cause them to die.
"Having merman troubles?"
A crew member drunkenly forgot their place and while it had not been meant maliciously, Hat as I have mentioned will only let so very few people talk to him so informally, eye turning black and red a snarl leaving his fanged maw, making the rest of the crew back away and carry on work harder than before lest they end up carrying the same fate of the man whose blood now painted the deck.
Tongue snaking out its way out, licking his lips clean of any blood that had splashed over him, he eyed the corpse, considering if he should make a meal out of it until he was reminded that he was still holding Flug's pet...oh no...she'd seen that.
He'd probably just given Acylius more reason to...wait was she staring at the body with the same hunger, crouching down he lifted the hand and pushed it into Mew Mew loafs  water bubble, rows of little sharp teeth were exposed and within moments there was no hand just a bloody stump.
Well that was unexpected and interesting.
"I presume he knows you are like this?"
Hat inquired, peering into her bubble, she swirled in her water ball again and nodded before pointing with chubby paw fin at the body and then the door, mewing enthusiastically.
Black Hat was staring, something was trying to click, match up and as she pointed to the door where Acylius was and the corpse once more he blinked, it dawned on him he'd never asked if the merman had wanted to eat and thus did not know what his favourite food was...until now.
Well that might be a way to win his affections, beloved pet in one hand, and favourite meal in the other.
While the thought of Acylius draped over him and turning him into putty certainly seemed delightful he would try to keep a clear mind, there were other things that needed to be done, to be talked about and he wanted to give proof somehow, that he saw the merman as more than just some doll to be played with.
Fingers curling around the deceased man's collar he watched his crew, door opening by itself a bloody trail followed as Black Hat easily took the body with him, top lip rippling in a growl
"This mess had better be gone before I come back out!"
With that he slammed the door, appearances where everything after all with these shallow humans, it was indeed a rare thing to find someone who had more depth than a piddling rock pool.
He laughed quietly to himself as he
heard them scrabbling to clean up the red stain, heh heh that wasn't coming out but their fear and desperate attempts to scrub it out would be fun for a while.
Looking over at the tank, his smile grew; face more fangs that flesh, oh my, so now Flug was paying him attention or more like the meal in his hand and pet in the other.
"So you are finally acknowledging my existence?"
He leered, chest puffed out and preening, if he'd been covered in feathers they'd have been fluffed up, though he was giving off an air of being smug Black Hat came to a stop as he heard Acylius giggling.
 "What has you so tickled?"
His mood fell slightly and then looked to where Flug was pointing, it was at Mew Mew Loaf.
"She likes you, clearly you did something right."
The Pirate King stalled, repeating the words slowly
 "Done something... right?"
Mew Mew was resting on what part of Black Hat's palm she could, purring away as her fish tail swayed in the water bubble, it was dawning on him...slowly mind you that Flug actually seemed to have relaxed a little...
He realised now just how important this moment was, if he'd come in showing any aggression to this little creature, Acylius would have thrown up a defensive wall so thick he may never have gotten through to him.
"Black Hat, you will not let any harm befall her will you?"
The demon was quiet as he turned his attention to Mew Mew Loaf who was nuzzling his palm and even gave it a small lick, she was clearly happy as you could even hear her purring through the water.
Now imagine a chibi version of Hat, the way animes do when they make a serious character look adorable.
Tumblr media
He was staring at her...well shit and blast it all, he'd already intended no harm in the first place but now she was a tiny ball that if anything happened to her he would kill everyone in the world and then himself am I referencing that quote you're damn right I am, who said I had to be serious.
"No, though after recent revelations, I understand if you do not trust me now or if ever."
Black Hat answered softly, coming up as close to him as he could with glass parting them, levitating the bubble it then sank down into Flug's tank, watching as Mew Mew Loaf instantly swam up to Acylius and nuzzled him.
The sheer joy in her little cries had him smiling a little; honestly he'd not even been aware he was doing so until he noticed Acylius now watched him in return.
Mew Mew Loaf mrrped and went off swimming around the tank that was her new home.
Swallowing he, he found himself unable to move as the merman moved closer to the glass, to him…seeing finely scaled hands press against the surface the old Pirate King wondered what Flug was going to do, there was only the sound of water and the creaking ship as moments passed.
Hat finally breathed (despite not actually needing to) after Acylius broke the silence
“So…you know who once owned me?”
“Yes.”
Their voices were quiet and when Hat had answered he could barely keep eye contact.
How could he when he’d given Thaddeus the world under water while he ruled the land…it was his fault this being had suffered at the hands of White Hat, there was no knowing what other fate might have befallen Acylius if he had not, would he even still be alive, would they have met there were so many what ifs the demon was more lost than anything…he knew it was selfish to be glad fate brought Acylius to him and yet a sting of guilt…because it was he who’d practically put the merman in Thaddeus’s hands.
Clearing his throat he then stripped the body of clothing with is powers as well as making sure it was stripped of filth or whatnot he was not about to feed the creature a dirty meal before also placing the body in the water.
Black Hat could sense the merman’s want to reach out to him, but he did not feel deserving of Acylius’s touch let alone attention, it took an iron will to move away and sit at his desk, despite it being pristine he kept adjusting objects on it, still avoiding eye contact, he knew it was shame he was feeling and he hated it, he’d never felt shame…he’d witnessed it and knew now why people looked like that when they experienced this emotion.
Mew Mew Loaf watched them both for a few moments before going to nibble on the other hand; she loved fingers, good for scratching, good for nibbling.
Acylius let out a soft whine; it was pained as he curled in on himself and sank to the bottom of the tank…so now that the Pirate King knew he was the spoils of Thaddeus…he didn’t want him?
Heart aching and colours growing dull as if someone had drained his scales of life, gills flaring with each breath, a small mew was heard as his little pet came and nuzzled at him and another Mew, this one louder than the last making Amadeus (Black Hat) look up eye wide as he found Flugs tank was now was black, the water was darker than night itself, pieces of skeleton started pelting out, ricocheting around the room, embedding into the wood and one piece even hit the demon square between the eyes as the water bubbled and started spilling over the sides.
As soon as he made a move towards the tank something started rising up, the form was so large in height it had to bend over and all he could do was look up in awe as he realised it was Acylius towering over him a hand on the glass edge as his other wrapped around his currently in comparison tooth pick of a body.
A thick inky substance streaked the merman’s face, falling in thick strings, ear fins flaring as his eyes were such a pale blue they were near white, making his pupils appear no more than pin pricks, rows and rows of needle teeth exposed as Flugs scream was anything far from what Earthly beast could make, it was raging and full of pain.
Tumblr media
Amadeus was not frightened of course, but there are many reasons to be scared…fear of never being forgiven, now that was something that frightened him, even if he felt it was undeserved.
Acylius’s grip was far from gentle, but it barely registered as pain, as he spoke though the Captain made sure not to turn away from him this time and listened as smoke left the merman’s maw
“So now that I am no more than waste to you, you who have pined and whined over me, who continued to show signs of envy when I showed my affections for Demencia now reject me…are you so out of touch with reality to recall merfolk customs or have you only ever cared for what you want!”
Hat wanted to face palm into a black hole….of course their kind was commonly known to be in trios, Acylius hadn’t been favouring her over him, he was learning about them both, now though after this if Flug still liked him that would be one hell of a miracle and he dare not ask at this moment, looking down as glass cracked he saw as the front of the tank collapsed, water flooding the room, something that was easily fixable but that mattered little to Amadeus at this moment.
Heart racing and twisting inside he realised his mistake, by not allowing Flug to reach out after he himself had been clearly wanting to  all this time…rejecting the contact after finding out his history…had made the merman feel like he was disgusting, spoiled by Thaddeus…this wasn’t just anger it was masking the despair, the pain in him.
Freeing a hand with ease he reached out into the heart of the ink and muck and placed it on him, showing with this simple action he was not repelled by him, looking up at those white eyes the blue deepened, their colour never seemed to settle on one hue, always swaying in tone like the Ocean, water and glass drawing back to their place
“It is not because of something you have done Acylius…I turned from you because it is I who allowed Thaddeus to rule the waters simply because I did not want to, while  I consider myself deserving of most things, I see now  I am not deserving of you.”
Demencia was standing at the door, it was of course closed behind her cause she wasn’t about to let any prying eyes see this and if anyone had tried to look she’d have stabbed them out, the water had been up her shins and now as she watched it drawing back to where it came from, found everything to be dry as if it had never been.
Wow Black Hat never apologised for anything like…ever.
She stayed quiet as Acylius’s form shrank, melting away and letting go of Black Hat who landed on his ass on his desk just narrowly missing  sharp pointed object on its surface, even he noticed everything was dry and back in order.
“This is clearly not my magic…what are you?”
Waters clearing and mask no longer in place, glaring at him with arms folded.
Black Hat was momentarily speechless...he’d perhaps expected a pretty face under that mask but this was breath taking, short ebony hair just long enough to sway in the water, face of white when caught in sunlight shimmered, lips scarred …no doubt the work of his brother and the way he was looking at him…any other circumstance and he’d be like take me I’m yours…well he was going to have to hold up his end of the bet later and confess he’d forgotten to feed him because he was too busy trying to impress him.
Tumblr media
“What am I, I think the question you should be asking is who was I? I was next in line to be king, once deep sea merfolk were not despised, we as a race worked in unity, there was peace until Thaddeus , through years of manipulation  whittled down the numbers of my kind to the hundreds…we are not even that anymore…”
Mew Mew loaf could hear the cracking in her friends voice and softly mewed coming up to him and nuzzling against him, he cuddled her kissing her tiny forehead gently as he sat on the tanks bottom once more, continuing
“Now that we are rare, we are considered prizes and things to be used as status symbols, some are now stuck in their racial beliefs and some would seek to claim us for gain.”
Black Hat wanted to curl in on himself and never look at him again, usually he didn’t care, he wouldn’t have cared…he never thought something he’d done would ever come back to bite him and so deeply
“I have never cared for the consequences for my actions…because they usually would not be any but-“
“Do not pretend to care now then, your false apologies would only insult me further, did you think just because I have dealt with your brother I would snivel before you?”
Oh god…even as he was tearing him down to the bone with words he found himself loving him all the more, he deserved this  and knew it but to see him so forthright unafraid to tell him , call him out on his bullshit…he would bow to no one in his life but this king before him.
Mew Mew Loaf was loafing on Flugs ‘lap’ as best she could you know considering Flug didn’t exactly have a lap and she had a fish tail herself and rested listening to them quietly.
“No, I did not think you would snivel before me…you are far too stubborn for that…but you are afraid.”
It really was all coming together now, the more this went on, noticing how Acylius flinched, the slight recoiling at first before posturing, afraid yes, cowardly no, Black Hat realised Acylius had done the only thing he could have done and before Black Hat could say it, Demencia spoke up as she gently asked him
“Acylius, how long have you been running?”

There were things you had done that you weren't proud of in the past that had for sure brought you to who you were now. You had moved to Angel Grove when your father's construction company was hired by a business wanting to build a new store and a warehouse. It was by a large company that could help bring more customers to the family business even if the business was the top one in California; even been hired to work outside of California as well.
"I have the plans right in front of me. Okay they want the manager's office larger?" Your Dad asked his partners at the dining room table.
"I'm going for a run." You spoke while he waved you off. You sighed as you nestled your phone into your pocket before you took off from your house. The house sat in the outskirts of town with a large piece of land behind it.
You had welcomed the move to a town sitting in the middle of nowhere almost, the only thing that had Angel Grove there was the quarry. The same one you would run in the woods by each afternoon and evening to get away from the business talk your Dad had over Skype with his business partners, your uncles. That was how you got to this part of your life.
It was on that Saturday you had been running when you heard the explosion that had sent you running to see what was wrong. Standing there in shock at the strange material wall was a group of kids from your class at Angel Grove High School. The moment that bent over to pick things up you were right there picking an near iridescent white chunk of glass that had black splotches in it.
Kimberly was holding a pink one, Billy holding blue along with the yellow one in Trini's fingers while Jason leaned down staring at the red. It seemed the one most excited was Zach hanging on tight to a black one.
Life exploded after that with running from Quarry Security to literally being hit by a train and waking up perfectly fine. It got hectic after that. The night you all confronted Rita Repulsa at the marina you watched one of you friends and teammates die. Billy died right there in front of you in such a devastating way you thought it was over. Especially when you were informed early you were moving back to Los Angeles.
Now you were watching Billy laying there dead on the edge of the spaceship while Alpha spoke shocked to Zordon, the former Red Ranger in the spaceship wall. Seeing Billy die made you sit back and re-examine your life, when you came to Angel Grove you were in a serious relationship that steadily broke down after becoming a Power Ranger.
"We should give the coins to Alpha." You mumbled sitting next to Billy, "Why him? He was the most selfless one?"
"You can't-"
"We're kids! Zordon! Our brains aren't even fully developed!" You shouted, "I'm leaving in a few days! If we were picked by the coins then why did they pick me when I'll leaving?"
"What?" Jason spoke staring at you.
"I'm done." You shook your head climbing to your feet, "Billy's dead because we were reckless and stupid."
You were just reaching the exit of the ship when the gasp brought you to a stop. You turned to see Billy breathing heavily leaning up while Alpha began to speak to Zordon. You were completely shocked at the revival of Billy but it didn't make you feel any better. Without another look you were jumping up into the water and swimming to the edge to climb up the cliff edge. You knew the others followed.
"See you tomorrow." You spoke at the edge of cliff that led down into the water. The rest of the group stood there soaked and nodding.
"Yeah." Jason spoke clearing his throat, "Four o'clock tomorrow."
With that you started jogging back to your house with a goal of contacting Noah to talk, the boy that was quickly picking up fame from the movies he had done. You had been together for two years before it broke off mutually a while back. from the lack of communication. You were busy training and worried he would get hurt in this fight against Rita even if he would never believe this. He thought this only happened in the film industry but you lived the truth.
"Hey Sweetheart." Mom spoke kissing your cheek as she wrestled with a jar. You grabbed it from her and swiftly twisted your wrist to open it, "Oh thank you."
"Mhm." You nodded heading up to your room, "I"'m calling Noah."
"Oh." She blinked as she watched you continue up the stairs to your room.
You nestled into the comfy chair at your desk in the your room clicking the icon of Noah's contact. You watched it ring and ring before he answered with a shocked expression on a familiar background of a trailer.
"Hey." You awkwardly waved receiving a similar one from him.
"Hey, what happened?" He asked leaning in to look at your face closer, "Did someone punch you?"
Your eyes widened at you looked into the little window showing you in the corner of your computer, easily seen was a bruise covering your cheekbone to just under your eye. How your mother didn't notice was beyond you.
"Did someone hurt you?"
"No!" You quickly shook your head in response, "I honestly think I may have bruised from the basketball in my gym."
"Wow someone is str-" Noah was cut off by someone in the background yelling his name, "Hey I have to go, I have an onset interview."
"Yeah. It was nice talking to you." You spoke as the screen went black. The talk had brought back the reasons behind why you couldn't be with him.
You went back to ignoring messages or calls from Noah in an effort to forget about him and focus on not dying. It seemed to work up until Goldar literally threw you onto an abandoned building that collapsed onto your Velociraptor Zord. The tons of building immobilized your body and it hurt even in the protective morphing armour and the Zord.
"You good?" Jason asked as he tugged you out of the rubble.
"Yeah." You choked standing up in pain as you quite literally stumbled into the fight in front of the crater where the Zeo Crystal was laying.
"I can't hold it!" Kim exclaimed just as you all tipped over into the large fire filled crater. You thought it was over until you were yanked to Jason's Zord and within a blink of an eye your Velociraptor was now morphed into the largest Zord with the other ones.
"I'm the tail?" You gasped indignant, "Why the hell am I the tail?!"
"Focus! You're the balance we needed and you watched our back literally." Jason spoke staring directly at Rita, "Let's do this."
Tumblr media
Rita was gone literally thrown into outer-space while you all stared in shock at the destruction of the town you had called home. Barely a building was left standing while you worked to conceal the Zeo Crystal once more from anyone's shocked prying eyes. It was a tough job while people were walking around in a daze.
"Where's Y/N?"
The frantic calls of your parents shook you to the core but the one voice was hysterical along with them. You looked over your shoulder to see your family, with Jason's Dad, scanning the area for you two. However just as scared was Noah gulping in fear but he stood still when he noticed the Power Rangers working to fill a massive hole.
"Is that?"
"Yes it's Noah Centineo." You sighed turning your back to him, "We dated for two years. It ended a few days after we found the coins."
"He's really good in To All The Boys I've Loved Before." Kim spoke staring at the black visor on your amour that was a stark contrast to the white on the rest of it.
"I know. Look it's too dangerous for him to be with me."
"I don't think anyone will notice who the Power Rangers are." Trini explained stepping back as the boys each pushed the last bit into the hole.
"But-"
"We needed to do as much as we can before we leave. We may have beat Rita but we need to clean up the mess we helped make."
Each Ranger went to a part of town to clean up until you were walking back to your Zord as your family collapsed onto their knees. Noah held a phone in his hand bringing you to a standstill when his voice came through.
"I know you're ignoring me but I saw on the news what happening. I'm on my way but you need to call me back. I need to know your safe. I love you okay."
"No! NO! She can't-" Your Mom's sob cut herself off as she fell into your Dad's arms. Both equally devastated in thinking your were dead and while you wanted to lose your armour you couldn't in the middle of here.
"We have to get going." Jason spoke coming to stand next to you. You had taken a step in their direction without realizing, "Let's get back to Zordon."
"Yeah." You mumbled keeping a wide berth around the grieving three people that meant the greatest  to you.
You sluggishly walked over to your Zord trying to ignore the inconsolable cries of your parents. While the others were already in theirs you couldn't take leaving your family in absolute distress so when they started to move you had already raced by to take the Zord back. However you didn't wait for the others before you were running back at full speed.
You stepped out of a dark shadow without your armour taking a deep breathe to open your house door. You barely stepped into the entrance when you heard a gasp from the swinging bench on your porch.
“Y/N?" Noah breathed yanking your sore form into his arms, "Where were you?"
"A long story." You spoke wincing. You were pretty sure you had fractured or bruised ribs , "I found a safe place. Lost my phone." You cleared your throat staring at a peeling piece of white paint.
"Good. Can you tell me the truth now?" Noah questioned turning to you, "I looked at my phone for a moment during a break and I see that Angel Grove was being attacked. Then I see a group of superheroes, what the fuck by the way, saving the town and no one knows where you are?"
"Jason's going to kill me." You muttered.
"Who's Jason?"
"Not important." You waved it off, "Okay so a little over a week ago I was running in the Quarry at night. I hear this explosion, apparently Billy decided to use explosives, so I run other. Weirdest shit for a wall I've ever seen. In the glass is weird colours."
Noah blinked in disbelief.
"Six of us are staring before one of us starts breaking the glass so we each pick up a small chunk that holds these weird coins? Problem is that we were all trespassing and security along with police show up. Long story short we run off, manage to jump into a speeding minivan and when we think we're safe boom! We get hit by a train." You spoke using your hands while pulling the Power Coin out of your pocket.
"Are you fucking with me?" Noah exclaimed standing up, "I thought you were dead and you make a joke about?"
"It's not a joke." You shook your head climbing to your feet, "Come with me."
You yank him after you around the side of the house to where your bedroom window on the second floor was. With barely a glance at Noah you jump with such a height you put Twilight to shame into your bedroom.
"See! Come on!"
Noah shakes his head with a mutter of losing the front door before he opens your bedroom door to step inside. Anyone else would have made an excuse to your parents and fled the scene with an anonymous tip to a mental health specialist. However Noah was different in that aspect.
"I'm not sure how that happened."
"Okay." You breathed in slowly reaching deep inside you while holding the iridescent Power Coin in your head. You didn't feel it but when Noah released a sharp breath of air you knew that you had morphed easily without the morphing grid in the cave.
"What the fuck."
You opened your eyes to see Noah was stark white in the face before he collapsed heavily to the ground. You winced leaning down to check him over.
"Noah." You spoke shaking his shoulder. You expected an outburst but now a fainting spell from him, "Noah."
"Mhm, what happened?" Noah asked leaning up to press a hand to his head keeping his eyes closed.
"You pulled a Lara Jean. You fainted."
"I think the adrenaline made me hallucinate."
"You didn't. Open your eyes." You whispered.
His beautiful brown eyes slowly opened to widen at the sight of the white armour and black face plate. You de-morphed yourself to hold him while he mentally freaked out.
"This shouldn't be real life."
"I shouldn't be alive after that train." You spoke, "I don't know why this happened to me and I hope it doesn't change your view of me."
"It may make things a little more difficult I'm not going to lie but we can do this. Now I know why you didn't answer my texts now." Noah spoke brushing a strand of your hair behind your ear, "So that nasty bruise was because?"
"We couldn't morph originally so we were training without it. I had so many bruises and broken bones that healed but wow. The difference between armour and no armour fighting is astounding." You shook you head in disbelief.
"This is crazy. Do your parents now?"
"Hell no. I wasn't supposed to tell you but you saw through my lies."
"Do you have to stay in Angel Grove forever now?"
"For the rest of senior year yes but I'm still keeping my plan of going to college in LA."
"Are you crazy enough to move in with me then?" Noah asked brushing your cheek with his finger.
"Are you crazy enough to live with a Power Ranger?"
"I guess we can be crazy together." Noah grinned taking your chin in his thumb and index finger you pulled you close to kiss you.

So my thoughts on How To Train Your Dragon 3
spoilers, even though some of it is painfully and devastatingly predictable (the only surprise is that some elements are so old and cliche that they’re even here at all)
So first thing I want to address is the girl night fury (”light fury”) that everyone went bonkers over. Personally, I enjoyed the jokes, but I didn’t mind the design choice entirely...
Because HTTYD doesn’t really have diversified dragon models within their species, (bc the most important trait for them is either being Toothless, or being ridden upon) let alone sexual dimorphism, so it would be rather odd that only night furies would be the only ones with differing models, imo (it’s pretty clear that even if they’re different species, dragons function essentially as a pack of the same animals). And with the same model/base, you have very few options. The first thing, which I hate, was removing textures. Light fury has no scales, which makes her look really unnatural and rubbery compared to Toothless. (not sure what it is? maybe the black disguises how odd some of the facial expressions are and it’s more visible with white? hm...) Another one I disliked was making her tail and wings more ‘elegant’ looking, more rounded and iridescent. Doesn’t really look bad but it doesn’t really help, either.
The third choice, the one that got the most attention that I actually think is the better choice is to go with changing the color. Making her white makes reading them as distinct characters at a distance where you can’t see Light’s freakish lack of face-scales much easier than if they were both black/dark. And just as a little bonus (If you don’t want spoilers and clicked on this anyway out of curiosity this coming up is a spoiler so turn back now) - her coloring isn’t a dimorphism thing. No one comments on it, but later (REAL SPOILER I GUESS) when Toothless and Light have babies, they’re shown to have a mix of white and black markings, indicating that she actual has a mutation. (And perhaps it even suggests that she’s one of the last surviving night furies because her white color made her initially not classified as a night fury and thus avoided being hunted?)
Idk I really appreciate that.
But the night fury relationship was soooo dull and bad. Like very generic “boy meets girl, and is stupid-gaga over her and is already love stricken and has to go find her again” kinda deal... which I almost understand from this point of view of “they’re animals, they mate for lives, they have instinct” so maybe Toothless imprinted on the first female he ever encountered past adulthood and this is his one and only mate (but this doesn’t explain why the same doesn’t seem to be true of Light? Like she returns for him again and again but seems easily turned off by his antics and will just leave?). And I’m totally not against Toothless being romantic with his species’ last chance at survival, but the very cartoony and goofy displays of this infatuation was really weird imo.
I didn’t care for most of the whole courtship things, either. (The flying scene was kinda cute, but a tad long). The whole thing could have been handled better if for the most part it didn’t just look like Toothless was badgering the fuck out of her and she was trying to tolerate it.
The next Bad Hetero thing was the classic “Competent women are here as emotional support” but twice! Half the mom’s role was urging Astrid to go be emotional support. It’s really annoying, a little distracting, and the worst part of the movie in my opinion, and probably the worst HetTrope present.
And the last bad hetero thing (which is like four in one so buckle up - also this is about endings so fucking spoilers if you’re still here kicking yourself) how everyone pairs off. In the beginning of the movie, Astrid is kind of pressured to marry Hiccup because she has sense and would be a good ruler (hello can of worms, i’ll crank you open in just a sec) and later the two talk about it and Astrid says the two of them aren’t ready (with it implied that Hiccup does want to get married) but it isn’t mentioned too much after that, least not seriously. Cut to an ending montage where they’re getting married. What made them ready? There’s really nothing to indicate this was way in the future, and seems to have happened shortly after the conclusion of the conflict. Fishlegs cries and hugs Ruffnut at the wedding, and she hugs him back and says that she likes sensitive guys. (I think this is hinting at them pairing off, and Ruffnut had expressed an interest in getting married a few times in the film, and an interest in Fishlegs, but not really the same from Fishlegs.)
Anyway, cut to the future where Hiccup’s finally old enough to have a beard of his own (the models are so good in this movie, throughout the movie Hiccup has small whiskers and it’s just *mwah* looks great, cute detail, love that), and he’s holding a baby Hiccup. But wait, this one is blond! And he also has a daughter, who looks like Astrid, but has reddish brown hair!!!
Idk if ive mentioned it here, or if anyone would have notice, but the “a boy and a girl that are clones of the parents, but with swapped hair colors” is probably the most boring het trope that I make fun of the most often. This is my go to “bad het story writing” trope when giving examples. I don’t know why I was so suprised but boy howdy! I couldn’t believe that they topped off some really generic hetero storyline stuff with this garbo.
I am on my knees thanking Jesus that they didn’t do the same with the baby furies (which are the greatest thing to come out of this movie, holy shit). Esp. because the babies suggest that Light has a mutation that makes her white, which isn’t mentioned or speculated on in the movie, and that it has co-dominance with black. Good stuff. I would have been even more disappointed if we got only two babies that were black and white (and maybe swapped eye colors? or something even worse somehow)
And that’s my complaints about the relationships, at least. I’ll talk about general plot stuff in the next post~!

Birthday
June first. Oliver’s heart raced as he did a mental check over the things he needed. Today was the day Bing was activated, the day his warm smile graced the egos as he entered their home with a “Sah dude!!” Oliver could remember it all so vividly, how they warmed up to each other slowly, how Bing taught him there was more to life than objects, how he’d been taught what feelings were, and most importantly, how he’d discovered he loved Bing. That was why everything had to be perfect today.
It’d taken the yellow droid to get Bing to leave the house, convincing him there would be a “hella, rad surprise” at the skatepark later and didn’t want the other to risk missing out on it. Despite how loving and kind the other android was, he wasn’t always the brightest and dashed off a few moments later after his lagging processors caught up to Oliver’s words. Now all there was to do was go shopping and set everything up. And perhaps convince the other’s to come, but he’d face that obstacle when he’d get there.
The store trips weren’t too difficult, simply locating items close to his list in case the exact item wasn’t present and finding a few gifts to wrap that he was sure Bing would enjoy or at least find amusing. While at the final store, his cellular device rang, startling him and causing him to reach for it in confusion.
[Text: Bing] ‘Yo man, how long is this surprise going to be? Kinda hard to keep doing things for entertainment if I’m just waiting for something that’s not coming.’
[Text: Oliver] ‘Do not worry Bing, it won’t take much longer. And if it all turns out to be a farce, you can come home and relax with your favorite movies.’
Oliver hated lying to Bing about where his surprise actually was, but at the same time, he couldn’t just give up and tell him. Plus, knowing the energetic orange droid, he’d come home too early and ruin it.
With a little more speed in his step, he hurried along, wanting to find his way home faster than Bing’s boredom taking control and forcing him home. Oliver was thankful when his feet hit the front steps of the egos home, sighing as he kicked his shoes off. Though now wasn’t the time to relax as he hurried up to the bedroom he and Bing shared. A yellow flush stained his cheeks as he glanced upon the sunflowers the two had painted together when they’d first moved in together.
Determination filled him now, wanting more than ever to make everything absolutely perfect and special, to make today phenomenal for his boyfriend of almost a year. The items he had to set up were an assortment of things, games, streamers, balloons, the whole nine yards. It took a good hour to finish everything he’d bought, and this time, it was a call that scared him.
“Oliver, honey, what the absolute heck is going on because I’ve been waiting out here for hours, and there’s still nothing.” Oliver had to bite his lip to hold back the slight laugh he wanted to let out.
“I’m sorry Bing. It seems I was misinformed, come on home, and I promise we can do whatever you want to make your day better. I love you.” Despite getting a little grumble of “I love you too”, Oliver could hear the slowly growing smile on Bing’s face through the phone. They exchanged a few more words before the phone officially went silent. Now to play the waiting game, and so Oliver sat in the dark of their room, waiting to surprise Bing with his decorations.
It took an hour for Bing to come home, a few new scraps across his tanned, silicone flesh, but nothing too major to worry about. He flicked on the lights to their room where Oliver jumped out from his hiding spot.
“Surprise!!!” He chirped happily, greatly amused with the look of shock and bewilderment flashing across the tallers face. The room was decorated with colorful streamers, balloons, and other little baubles that Oliver thought would be necessary to decorate the room. Bing’s presents sat neatly on his bed, wrapped in pretty iridescent paper and tied with pearlescent bows. Each one was signed off with a loving yet witty note from Oliver, occasionally hinting at what was within (Such as the candle he’d bought him said ‘Your warm embrace is the light of my life’), and it was all such a cute display of affection.
Though the banner hanging on the far wall over the mural of their sunflowers they’d painted via sponge brushes and their fingers for the petals. It was rather plain, just a simple white plastic with fasteners on the ends for a string or ribbon to pass through and hold the flimsy material up. But what had made it stand out was how in glittery, blue words it read “Happy 9th Birthday!!!” The more attention Bing gave, the more obvious that there were several things themed for little children like pin the tail on the donkey, balloons repeating the ninth birthday message, and of course, the little party favors only an elementary student (and probably Bing as well)  would find amusing like whoopee cushions and slinkies.
It took a moment, but his lips soon wobbled before a bark of laughter left him, his cheeks turning a dark orange. Oliver worried, confused as to why he was laughing. Was he being mocked? Did Bing think this was all stupid for him to do and found it silly? What ifs raced around his head and oh those were lips on his. The taller had leaned down to capture his lips in a chaste kiss, humming in amusement before pushing his sunglasses to his hair, revealing the orange irises shining so brightly against the black sclera.
“Thank you babe. I really do love the decorations you chose.” Oliver’s eyes lit up as his own cheeks turned yellow, a giddy smile building up on his face before he practically lept into his arms like a golden retriever.
“I’m so glad you like it!! I just wanted to do something like the humans did, and so I did the best I could finding decorations!” Bing smiled, taking another glance around before chuckling.
“Just as a heads up though, these decoration are for like, tiny human babies. I know I’ve been activated for nine years, but I’m not actually nine. Though it is pretty cute.”
“Should I have bought the one for seven year olds then?” Bing took a moment before pouting, cheeks puffing a little in protest.
“And what’s that supposed to mean?” Oliver chuckled before kissing his cheek, dismissing his gloomy look.
“Nothing, nothing, I’m just teasing. Though, now that we’ve gotten the surprises out of the way, why don’t you open your gifts?” Bing was immediately back to his previous demeanor, grinning ear to ear as he sat on the edge of the bed, bouncing a little as his eyes looked over the presents he’d gotten. It wasn’t a staggering amount, but the fact he’d gotten even one from Oliver made his heart soar. Before they were dating, the Googles mostly ignored him, save for a few bitter comments. But after a slow build, he’d broken through the shell around Oliver, and here they were, approaching their one year anniversary.
Each gift was carefully unwrapped, the wrapping paper saved for the fact that Bing wanted to keep the little messages that were written on the paper. They were small things that Bing appreciated, like a flowery scented candle, an action figure of Spiderman, and other random items he loved. Though the one that was truly breathtaking was a skateboard. It was a sleek design, with black wheels, but it was completely hand painted with a sunset. There was a single sunflower that spiraled high into the ombre of colors with the words “To my beloved Bing” printed ever so neatly at the bottom of the painting.
“Oliver, it’s… it’s so pretty… Did you actually paint this by yourself?” He bobbed his head, bouncing a little from the force of nodding.
“Thank you so much babe.” The taller smiled warmly before setting the board carefully to the side, taking the opportunity to grasp his head between his hands and pepper his face in kisses.
“I love you so much Oliver.”
“I love you too Bing. Happy Birthday.”

TF me PLZ
DA Inspired by this piece by @tf-artist-chan and this piece by @notzackforwork, it’s technically still not a late birthday gift if you count some parts of asia. So I’m counting this as on time.
What'll it take for someone to actually transform me? I've been wearing this shirt around town all day! I haven't been approached by witches nor wizards, not so much as even a squib! No hexes! No potions! No accidents! No curses! I'd even walked in on the aftermath of a big buildup of wild magic on a campus, there'd been a big eruption of it just before I got there. Women became men, men turned to statues, the statues transformed into flowers, and the flowers...well, that's better left unsaid. Everything in the general area got hit by the blast, and everyone who did will just deal with it in their own way, it's just a fact of life. Some guy even got transformed into a humongous queen bee, god I wish that were me, but nope! I had to be off by like a minute.
Defeated, I sat down on a bench and let out a long, grunt-like sigh. Trying to get transformed was exhausting, I'd been at this for hours!
What's got ya down? An old man asked, why hadn't I noticed him before I sat here?
Oh, it's this stupid thing I've been trying to do as a birthday present to myself, I even challenged people to do it to me, I gestured towards the big, white letters on my shirt. The old man pulled his reading glasses out and did his best to decipher it, Tee eff me pee ell zed, what does that mean? I'm not a hip and with it young lady like you, you're gonna have to explain it to me more clearly, he requested.
Well, I've been trying to get transformed, TFed if you will. Challenging fate and so on. But either some person had a tainted drink right after me or I missed some huge magical explosion, things like that. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I complained
Maybe you're not supposed to look for it, he suggested, How'd the people in the subway take it?
Subway? It was on campus! I corrected. The man suddenly looked very anxious, like I'd heard something that I wasn't supposed to hear, he began sweating bullets as a loud boom went off in the distance.
Look, I'm sure there's some way to keep this a secret between us, okay? I'll give you one wish, the old man pleaded, this was my chance! You know what I want. Transform me, please! The back of my jorts ripped apart as something burst through the back of them, it even made me lose my balance for a few seconds. I'd grown a big, fat and red lizard tail whose glistening scales were hot to the touch, Now don't go and tell people I suckered you into a bad transformation. In fact, don't tell anyone at all, that one's as good as they come.
Yeah, yeah, thanks, I mumbled back, I wasn't really paying attention to him any more, I got mine and could saunter away with my wish fulfilled.
I kept walking around the city to show off and get used to this new feature of mine. But something on the side of my back didn't feel right, I turned around to look, somehow I'd grown tiny wings and one of them had gotten trapped below the shoulder that my shirt hung off. Actually, my back hadn't looked or felt this scaly either. Oh my gosh, this wasn't just a lizard transformation, I was gonna turn into an actual dragon!
The realization seemed to trigger something new, the changes were coming faster now. Dragon blood was cursing through my veins, at first turning the skin of my hands red, then segmenting that skin into scales. My shoes tore apart in one big rip, revealing feet that grew more clawlike by the second. Then suddenly every color seemed so much more vibrant, something had happened to my eyes, my scales were now giving off a dazzling display of iridescent light!
The heat inside of me grew warmer, it needed fuel, something raw and bloody, meat. Someone had left their kebab rotisserie unattended, or maybe they were still there but as a frog, or maybe a ladle? Either way they wouldn't be able to stop me.
I left with my doner...club? Kebabsicle? No, just meat, then ripped a big chunk of it with my teeth, the cooked meat didn't really taste right right now, but when I buried my fangs into it again I could tell that the meat was uncooked, still raw and tasty. I kept chewing while getting closer and closer to the center, eventually all of it was gone. Wait, wasn't there supposed to be a metal rod somewhere in there?
My wings had grown, and except for my face which somehow hadn't been as touched by my transformation I'd become mostly scaly. I was still hungry but this street vendor had nothing more to offer.
I took to the skies and eventually touched down on a three-story building, then crawled towards the edge of the roof on my front and hind legs, only using the latter like those puny humans at the square would just didn't feel natural any more. It was completely wasteful, how did they even get through their days walking like that all the time? Those tasty morsels should consider themselves lucky that I was still their size and couldn't swallow them whole, I licked my lips with my pointed tounge tounge just thinking about how tasty they'd be. But they weren't the goal right now, the two trailers on the square was.
I spread my wings majestically and let out a bellowing roar to announce my presence and make its people run away before I pounced. To let everyone know that I had nothing to fear before I took their precious food. No, my food by right of might!
I grabbed the street-food trailers and flew away with them, normally they'd be pulled into the squares by car, that fake power and protection that humans used because they weren't strong enough to drag them around themselves. But look at me, I could just snatch them away in passing, shows them.
I dropped one of the trailers onto the new roof that I'd landed on, buckling it down slightly, then landed with the other. I ripped off it's door and that entire wall with my mighty claws, it was nothing more than a tin can lid for me.
The food was stashed away in the farthest end of the trailer. It must've fallen out when it was jostling around in the sky. I shoved everything else out of my way as I walked towards the pile, turning this square tube's other contents into metallic scrap before I could have my meal.
Every sound became more distinct as I ate out of my claw, I could pick out individual footsteps and cries with perfect clarity, even rotor blades. There was a metal sheet in front of me, showing off my reflection. My ears had turned into finlike protrusions and my face was elongating, turning into a maw as the last vestiges of human skin, weakness incarnate, disappeared under my new beautiful scales. My hair was on the floor, replaced by turned back horns and a crest.
I was overwhelmed by the new smells, dizzied for a short moment, but each and every thing in this room was an odor experience, now that I think of it, there was no need for such a short neck either, my tail elongated with it, giving my body new balance as I punched out the other end wall of the trailer.
There was a snap and a few more tearing sounds as I left it, my body had grown larger and my clothes had fallen off to reveal my gold-plated chest and lustrous body, my hair band had fallen to the sides of my head, snapped in twain from the strain. I breathed my flame and obliterated the wrappings, but also slagging the emptied trailer, melting it into a sad heap.
The rotors were closing in and I kept breathing fire to announce my position. Yes, let them come, Britzahn fears none! Your modern weapons and magics bounce off me, everything and everyone in this city is mine! I'm going to rule you all!

So I finally got time to make this post I’ve been wanting to make for a long while. This is a complete list of spirits I am bonded with and work with on an almost daily basis. this is long so ill post it all below the cut, just to save room on the dash of people who might not want to read this.
I also want to start this off by saying I like to differentiate three types of spirits. Really, two but I’ll entertain three. the main two would be living spirits and dead spirits, and I’ll say the third category would be divine spirits but I consider divine spirits to also be living spirits. Now what does this mean? Well, what I consider dead spirits are spirits of the deceased, those who have passed on and are wandering the earth or ones that have moved on to the afterlife. What I consider living spirits would be divine entities like gods, angels, demons, things of that nature, and other living spirits would be faeries, mythical creatures, or just other creatures in the spirit or astral realm, that were not incarnated on this physical realm or just have never had a physical form.
Midnight: She is a Goddess of Spirits, she refers to herself as the ‘Queen of Spirits’. She is the first one of these that I meet and bonded with. She is highly intelligent, but somewhat impersonal. She is blunt, but she gives good advice. She also connects me to the spirit realm and helps act as my guide. When I can contact her, she gives me a vision of what she looks like. Tall, ghostly pale skin, black eyes, and then lots of gray. She speaks to me through visions.
Lunar: She is a goddess of light and shadow, sunlight and moonlight, the sun and the moon, basically that whole duality of light and dark in the literal sense. Her alignment is basically lawful neutral. She says she is associated with wolves, owls, lions, and eagles. She is actually very gentle and nice, and has a motherly vibe. When I get visions of her, I see blonde hair, a long white flowing dress, and colors of black white. She speaks to me through mental images, which I consider different from visions because a vision for me is like a gif, whereas Lunar flashes pictures and words in my mind. She helps me connect with other deities.
Bloodwyraine: This will be long and detail and dark because I know the most about her. She is probably the second one of these spirits I met and the rest I don’t remember the order. I think after her it was Lunar or Esmerlda, then Rion or Peaches. She also has a very tragic back story. She is an angel, and she used to be the Keeper of the Sands of Time, she was also associated with storms, knowledge, time, and magic. She was sent to Earth on a mission, met this human Zara, fell in love with her and they somehow conceived a little girl Sarah. When her brothers and sisters showed up to tell her it was time for her to come home, she declined and told them how she had a family to protect now. They understood and left, but shortly after she was demanded to return to Heaven and she declined again, this time she also invoked God’s wrath(She calls him simply Yahweh, and in a very dead tone..). She left her house one day to get herbs and when she came back her family was gone and there was a feather on her door step. She went to Heaven and demanded her family back, of course they asked her to stay in return ad she told them to basically fuck themselves. They killed her wife Zara, turned her daughter into marble and smashed her. This sent Bloodwyraine in a fit of rage and she doesn’t remember much. She remembered sitting in a forest back on Earth, and being covered in blood and having no halo. She used to look like the embodiment of purity, short white hair, 18 big and small soft white wings, five blue eyes, and that’s all of her form she could show me. When she left that forest that night, she had three silver eyes, three black wings, long black hair and nails, and her skin looked greyish. She says she mutilated herself because she couldn’t His brand. She changed her name to Rosemary and went into hiding, and wandered the Earth as a medicine woman that would go from village to village curing people using her knowledge of magic and herbs. She decided to stop hiding and now goes by her old name. We have a very strong bond, and arrangement, I give her energy when she needs any from me and she provides me with tips on magic. Despite all that has happened to her, and the fact that she wants nothing to do with Yahweh or his... “minions”, she’s very sweet and soft spoken. She stays with me because she sees something in me, I don’t know what that is though. She actually shared all this with me in one very vivid dream and when I woke up from it I saw her sitting on my bed, two wings out and one folded behind her she looked very sad and nodded and I started crying and we held each other all night. I believe my bond with her is so strong and vivid because she has spent so much time here on Earth. I don’t spend a lot of time with her in one go though because if gives me migraines. She also helps me keep myself balanced and cleansed.
Esmerlda(Not a typo, seriously. I thought she meant Esmerelda but nope.): This is one feisty girl. She is a princess of some sort, I don’t know her parentage, and she certainly doesn’t act like one, but she does claim to be a princess. She is kind of full of herself though lol. She’s very carefree and friendly. She claims that she could transform her tail into two legs, i think it was either through cutting open her tail or by eating the heart/lungs of sailors after luring them into the water. She liked to use her legs to climb onto ships with her “girlfriends”(I don’t know if this was a band of female friends or female lovers or both), and play pirate. She also claims she was the basis for Ariel because they both had red hair and blue/green tails but I don’t believe that for. a. second. Esme can just be.. a little cocky. But we love her here. She likes to sit here with me and gossip, she is a pretty physical spirit, in that she likes to come to me and sit with me whenever I’m doing something, this also makes her the easiest for me to contact since I don’t have to use my energy to channel or astral visit her. I do not know if she used to be alive or not so I don’t know how to classify her. She is also in a very cute relationship with another spirit, Tiana. She helps me out with elemental magic and identifying other spiritual creatures.
Peaches- I have mentioned this cool cat before. She is very secretive, and doesn’t actually speak. She communicates to me through visions and mental images. She used to appear to me in a very strange form that had a small head and arms/legs, but a large round body. She now appears to me in the form of a short, fast, black as night humanoid form. She has ears, eyes, and a face like a cat. She has whiskers, I think, and a nose like a cat, I think, and she has small sharp teeth. She also has features of gold on her, like tattoos, in her eyes, and such. She doesn’t really give me complete answers, and when I asked when/where she’s from she shows me flashes of a sunset or sunrise, a plain of dead grasses or wheat, and some old stone building city. I know she had a tribe of beings just like her. I can’t tell if she hails from England/Ireland/Scotland/Wales or maybe Northern Africa, specifically Egypt. I have a suspicion she is the goddess Bast in disguise, but I don’t push her on that because its not my business or she would be straight forward with me about it. She helps me out with element magic, and anything that relates to ancient times.
Rion- He is, for now, the only male spirit I know. He is the spiritual incarnation of a thunder storm, and looks like a tornado in humanoid form, if that makes sense. He told me that his mother was a tornado and his father was a hurricane. He talks very softly in my head, because his real voice is deafening thunder. I believe he has a little sister that is a lightning bolt. There isn’t much to tell about him, I mostly only see him when it storms or is just cloudy out. I suppose you could classify him as a slyph, or ventus, but I don’t really know. It’s weird. I met him when I was alone one day at my old job and a storm knocked the power out. He is very sweet, and he does help me influence the weather when he’s around. He also can sometimes stop the rain for me when i need to run outside for something. He does like to talk about nature spirits with me.
Tiana- She is a lovely young lady. She was born and grew up in somewhere near modern day Estonia, but then moved somewhere near present day Hungary or Austria. It’s hard to say, since she hails from the 15th-16th century. She was surprisingly educated, and when she was a servant girl for either a type of Duke or Viscount, she overheard the Master of the house talking about a problem he was dealing with she spoke up, and he when he realised she was intelligent he quickly made her a form of nobility, even though she was just a peasant girl. She doesn’t have the best memory now, but she believes he married her, and shortly after there was an accident with food or maybe she was wounded and died from infection. She’s very quiet and soft spoken, and she’s not angry or remorseful in terms of her death, she knows it was an accident, but she decided to roam the Earth to watch mankind evolve. She’s very nice and friendly. She doesn’t help me perform my magic but she does like to watch. She is so gay for Esme.
and last but not least, my mother. Well, not my actual mother but yeah.
Taliyana. She’s not helpful at all. But she takes care of me when I’m too tired to do things for myself. Mostly basic stuff, like showering, eating, driving home at night. She also takes care of me if I’m too stressed out or too emotionally drained. She lives within me, as in she has permission to just control my body at her will. She mostly just sleeps all day. She is a dragon, specifically a type of Wyrm. She has black iridescent scales, with purple skin and emerald eyes. She has two arms, legs, and wings but they’re very small and mostly just stay curled into her body so she can slither around like a snake. She also has highly venomous fangs, or so she claims. We communicate mostly through telepathy, or just in my mind really.

A Spell for Happiness: Ch.1
Gladnis Week Day 7
Prompt: Fantasy AU
Also Available on AO3
Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
“Noct!” The slim figure of Ignis' young charge was little more than a speck up ahead, and Ignis heaved a sigh before racing after him. “Noct!”
“You don't have to babysit me, Ignis,” Noct said, when Ignis had almost caught up. “I'm sixteen; I don't need a minder anymore.”
Ignis scowled and drove himself harder until he could reach out to wrap a hand around Noct's tail and yank. Noctis gave an undignified yelp as Ignis pulled him up short, and finally came level with him. “The surface is dangerous,” he said.
“So dad keeps telling everyone,” Noct replied, all the worldly wisdom of a sixteen year old written across his face and creeping into his voice, “but have you ever been?”
“No,” Ignis replied, “because it's dangerous.” He gestured to the surface, which lingered so much closer than Ignis would have liked. There was a boat up there, a big human thing, like the wrecks that littered the ocean floor and which Ignis had also failed to keep Noct from investigating. “There are men up there, Noct. Men with nets. Do you know what they might do to you if they caught you?”
Noct sank in the current a little, until Ignis was looking down at him. His iridescent blue tail swished unhappily in the water, and Ignis knew he was about to be played, and worse, he knew it was likely to work. He never had been able to find it in himself to refuse Noct when he was upset. “I just want to see,” he said. “I promise I won't get close.”
Ignis looked at Noctis, his fins curling at the obvious emotional blackmail, yet by the way Noct's dark blue eyes pleaded, and his fins drooped and folded listlessly, he knew he was doomed. He rolled his eyes, giving the surface above them another unhappy look before he conceded, “All right, but I'm coming with you.”
“Thanks, Specky,” Noctis said, and there was such genuine warmth and happiness in Noct's smile that Ignis couldn't really bring himself to regret it.
“Stop calling me that,” he complained as he set off again after Noct, this time at a more relaxed pace. Noct was the only one who used the nickname now, but he'd gained it when his scales turned from the dull silver of youth to the vigorous colour of adulthood. His colour had bloomed one scale at a time, so that for nearly three years, he'd been silver and green speckled. They'd thought, for a while, that he might stay that way, but gradually, ever so gradually, the green had come through to its full, brilliant lustre, matching Noct's royal blue in iridescence.
Like Noct's colour, it matched his eyes. That was supposed to be a lucky sign, although Ignis had always testily pointed out that not all luck was good, and Ignis in particular seemed to use up his reserves in the act of keeping Noct safe. The prince was, in his turn, headstrong and curious, and interminably unmotivated. The only thing Noct ever had any enthusiasm for was doing something he shouldn't be doing. Ignis had long resigned himself to a life of chasing Noct down to either keep him out of trouble or get him to finish his schoolwork.
Noct broke the surface first, and Ignis followed scant seconds later. The air was cold, biting his delicate flesh, and his eyes struggled to adjust to the change in pressure. He dipped down again until his gills were under the waterline, but Noct kept his head and shoulders above the surface, looking up. A vast blackness like a second ocean hung over their heads, but it was colder, less dense, and somehow much more frightening. Points of light shimmered like the hunting lures of thousands of the deepest dwelling fish, too close for Ignis' liking.
Noct's attention drifted toward the human ship. Noise was coming from it, although Ignis' ears couldn't make any sense out of it. Everything sounded wrong up here, including Noct's voice when he said, “Come on, let's get closer.”
Noct leapt for the ship before Ignis could reply, and his hand caught empty water as Noct's fins slipped out of reach. Perhaps if he indulged this for a few more minutes, he could tell Noct his curiosity had been more than satisfied and get him to return home, with another illicit adventure on their record and another close escape sipping away at Ignis' luck. He ducked below the surface and swam after Noct, managing to keep his tail from disturbing the surface, and wincing at the noise of Noct's surface-breaking splashes and leaps.
“You sound like a dolphin in distress,” he scolded. “Keep a lower profile, unless you want to attract sharks.”
Noct flicked around to swim on his back, giving Ignis a bright grin. “Don't be such a blobfish,” he retorted. “It's fine.”
“How I long for the days when drawing you from your hollow was my biggest trial,” Ignis muttered, but sped up to match Noct’s pace.
They broke the surface again more quietly, lurking in the shadow of the ship. The noise from it now was raucous, and if Ignis listened, he could discern a rhythm to it, and the sound of voices. The were lights, too, bright and frightening.
A screech pierced the air, sending a ripple of warning down Ignis' lateral line that had him ducking into the water again. It was followed by a bang and an explosion of colour over their heads. Noct stared at it, marvelling, oblivious to his senses. It was followed by another, and another, the sky lighting up in plumes in red, and green, and blue, and white, and as it went on, Ignis found himself becoming transfixed, too.
It was beautiful, if loud, and didn't seem to pose a danger, so he let himself relax and enjoy the show. The light reflected off the ocean's surface, painting it with colour, and smoke drifted through the sky over their heads. After a final chorus of noise and colour that drowned out the points of light in the sky and splashed it with a mishmash of vibrant hues, noise erupted from the ship.
Cheering, Ignis realised. That was the sound of cheering above the water's surface. Noct glanced at him, and Ignis knew before the boy even moved what he was planning to do next. “No,” he hissed, reaching for Noct's arm, or tail, whatever he could catch, but Noct moved too quickly for Ignis. “You'll be seen!”
“I'll be fine,” Noct replied, slipping away to grasp the hard metal chain that hung in the water and starting to haul himself up. “I just want to look at them.”
“Noct,” Ignis hissed, not wanting to raise his voice too much in case they were heard. The humans on the ship made sufficient noise that they weren't likely to be, but he didn't want to take the risk, not with Noctis climbing up their anchor. He watched as Noct clambered up, hand over hand, his tail hanging uselessly behind him, waiting for a cry, a call, some indicator that Noct was now in serious danger.
It didn't come. Noct halted when he reached a lip in the ship's side, clinging with all his strength. Ignis held his breath, watching and waiting, and then Noct turned to look at him, and waved his arm hurriedly, motioning Ignis to follow.
Ignis cast around, but there was no help here at the surface. There was no way for him to shout at Noct to get down from there, to tell him he wasn't coming up, not without alerting the humans, too. Not for the first time, Ignis found himself sorely wishing he could just tell Noct's father what his son got up to. He'd have his fins clipped for sure, but Ignis couldn't bring himself to deny Noct what little freedom he might be able to grasp; when it was his turn to lead, his life would be filled with duty and responsibility. What harm would a little freedom do now?
Ignis swam over to the anchor chain and gripped it, beginning to climb, still wondering why he was doing it. His body felt heavy, his tail hanging uselessly instead of propelling him. There was always a downward pull below the surface, but in the air, it was almost overwhelming and there was nothing to help him fight it. How did humans live like this? Every movement was at once too easy, and utterly powerless.
He saw Noct adjust his grip on the ship, and Ignis understood why. His arms were aching with the act of supporting his entire weight, which felt so much greater without his natural buoyancy to aid him.
The sight that greeted him when he reached the deck was a strange one. There were humans, all right. He'd seen images of them before in salvaged portraits and carved stones that had come to rest with their unluckier ships; they were always upright, moving around on two strangely deformed tails that only seemed to bend in one direction. They were clothed, too, every one of them. Not that Ignis could blame them, with this uncomfortable bite of air against his flesh. It chilled his scales and pricked at his upper body; the ocean could be cold, certainly, but merfolk only decorated themselves with seasilks and shells and pearls for formal occasions. Humans, it seemed, wore their wealth all the time.
He looked across the assembly of humans going about their business. Someone was talking, and others were pouring red liquid into cups. Ignis wondered if they had to swallow water that way to stop themselves from drying out, although why it was red, he couldn't say. One human sat, much as Noct's father did, slightly above the activity, and with the distinct impression that it was going on around him, rather than his being a part of it. He was large, broad shouldered and muscled, with dark hair, including some on his face around his jaw.
Ignis felt his fins curling and tried to shake his mind clear. He wondered what that human might look like with a single tail, instead of that strange deformity, and what colour his scales might be. Something warm, he found himself thinking, something bright and warm; he had that feeling to him.
“We've seen enough,” he said softly, turning to Noctis. They had glimpsed humans, in all their strange form, moving around in air in ways so unlike the movement of merfolk through water. They were different from how Ignis had imagined, stranger, and yet—perhaps—alluring. Still, they'd be in danger if they were seen.
Noct, however, was looking out across the ocean. “What is it?” Ignis asked.
“Magic,” Noct answered, quietly.
“Whose?” Ignis asked. Noct was more sensitive than himself, more powerful. Ignis had learned control where Noct had mastered raw power, but Noct's instincts were always that little bit sharper as a result. Magic resonated with magic, after all, and Noct had more to resonate.
“I don't know,” Noct answered.
“Come on,” Ignis said, “let's go.” If Noct didn't know who it was, then it wasn't someone looking for them, but that didn't make it safe to cross paths with whoever wielded such power. They were still in Noct's father's territory, but Regis had always maintained a strict non-interference policy when it came to humans.
Light cracked in the sky, and the air boomed with a pressure Ignis had never felt before. It sent a pulse through his lateral line that almost stunned him, leaving him weak. Noctis was similarly affected, and they dropped from their hold on the ship back into the water. The sea churned and frothed, charged with a powerful magic, and Ignis dragged Noct by the arm deeper under the surface, to safety.
The water above lit up brightly, and then pulsed, and stung. Ignis heard Noct scream, and he yelped himself as he was paralysed by the strike, fighting to recover. It was like swimming too close to an eel—a very large, very angry eel. Ignis' movements were left twitchy and uncoordinated as he fought to reach Noct, who drifted slowly down into the darkness. He willed his muscles to move.
Noct was recovering by the time Ignis got there, though his tail was still twitching uselessly. He was staring up toward the surface. “The ship,” he said.
Ignis turned. Above them, far above them now, the wooden ship was bright and orange. Splintered wood floated on the water's surface, barely discernible shadows against the flickering light. Ignis had never seen anything like it before, and he stared, transfixed, as people, humans, started jumping into the water.
They couldn't swim, he realised. Humans couldn't swim. They were a long way from shore, and none of them knew how to move their arms or lower half to propel themselves through the water. They were no more able to swim than Ignis was able to stand upright.
“We have to help!” Noct said, turning and swimming hard for one figure that had already begun to drop below the surface, weighed down by his clothes and decorations.
Ignis grabbed for Noct, calling to him. “Noct!” They weren't to help; it was a punishable offence in his father's kingdom to rescue a human. Many lifetimes ago, merfolk and humans had an uneasy relationship. Any human that helped merfolk was gifted a charm, to have the favour repaid when they might have need of it, or when their descendants required it. When the debt was repaid and the charm was returned it was imbued with the life magic of those that had worn it, resonating with the heart it had rested near and lending that strength to the Mer to whom the charm belonged.
Humans no longer helped merfolk, and charms were no longer given out to worthy humans because there were no worthy humans. The merfolk had been forced to abandon their homes near the coast as humans washed their sewage into the waters the merfolk inhabited. The only good human, as far as the merfolk were concerned, was a dead one.
Ignis saw Noct grab the blond human that was sinking and drag him up toward the surface. He couldn't help. He shouldn't help, but the sounds of men thrashing in the water, sounds he knew would draw sharks, and the feeling of magic all around, made him hesitate. This wasn't a natural disaster the humans could have avoided; someone with magic had done this to them. Perhaps merfolk were forbidden from rescuing humans, but what about setting out to harm them? Was that acceptable?
The boat started to dip below the surface, dropping down into the seas. It rolled, and something slid into the water, unmoving and helpless. Ignis saw the broad shoulders of the man he'd watched before and felt his resolve snap. He darted forward and up, catching the unconscious form drifting toward a watery doom, and swam as hard as he could for the surface. The man’s skin was warm, warmer than Ignis', but that meant he'd lose heat quickly in the water.
When Ignis broke the surface, he pulled the man's head above the waterline and looked around for Noct. The air was scented with something acrid and unpleasant, and still crackled with the residue of magic. He sighted Noct, swimming on his back with the blond gasping for breath in his arms, head held safely above water. The shoreline was several miles away, but it wouldn't be a hard swim, even with the extra burden.
After a few minutes, the man in his arms stirred, coughing and sucking in air. He tried to move, tried to swim in that graceless, ineffective way Ignis had seen the other humans attempt. The humans they had been unable to save. Ignis shifted his grip, holding the man's arms still as he pushed them both along with just his tail. “I've got you,” he said, firmly, though his voice sounded higher in the air than he was used to.
“Who are you?” the man croaked. Ignis felt a pleasant shudder go through his fins at the sound; he'd sound divine beneath the waves.
“That doesn't matter,” Ignis replied, adjusting his grip on the man. “Just relax. You're making this harder than it has to be.” He called on his reserves of magic, scales flashing brightly as he did, and placed his hand over the man's forehead. “Sleep,” he commanded.
The man in his arms relaxed by degrees, becoming soft and pliant, and easier to handle. Ignis readjusted his grip again, and powered along. He hoped Noct had the good sense to put his own rescuee to sleep, but he was too far away for that conversation when they needed to keep these men above the water.
As they approached the shore, Ignis took a small diversion, hauling the man onto a sandy inlet nearby. Noct had no doubt taken his charge up to the shore, and Ignis didn't wish to risk being seen if he was already awake and moving.
He laid the man out on his back, checking him over. His tails were strange things, Ignis concluded, far too rigid and wholly unsuited to swimming; no wonder they'd had such difficulty. His arms were broad and muscled, as were his shoulders, and he was longer than Ignis, laid out on the sand. His skin wasn't waterproof either, Ignis noted; the skin of his fingers was wrinkled and soft, having grown waterlogged.
A gash down his face, over his eye, was still bleeding faintly. Ignis raised a hand, scales shimmering with magic, before he placed it over the wound and stopped the bleeding. It left a line, a delicate scar, but human skin was different to merfolk skin, and perhaps that was just how they healed. He raised his hand again, pressing it to the man's forehead, and said, “Waken.”
The man stirred, and Ignis fled, diving back into the water with a splash. He took refuge behind some rocks and watched as the man, already sitting up and scanning the ocean, brought his hand up and felt along his healed wound. He looked out at the ocean again, curious, and Ignis, satisfied, slipped beneath the surface to find Noctis and drag him home.

Shiny Things
For Day 19 of @platonicvldmonth: Shared Interests
Part of the Cat of a Different Color series
Cat or Altean, diamonds are a girl's best friend.
“Where could they have gone?”
Lance looked up from where he was brushing Blue to see Allura walking in. “Hey Allura, aren’t you supposed to be resting?”
The princess sent him a glare.
“I mean, hey Allura, good to see you up and about. Um, did you need something?”
“Have either of you seen the mice?”
“Yeah, why?” Keith said, still focused on cleaning his knife.
“I was organizing my jewelry on my bed, but when I got back from grabbing a rag out of the washroom, all my calop, vrel, Syonian riom, and pepla shell necklaces, bracelets, anklets, and rings were gone. Even my favorite moon coan circlet.”
“You think it was the mice? Seems like a lot of work for the four of them,” Keith pointed out.
“I wouldn’t put it past them,” Lance snorted.
“Agreed. So where’d they go?” Allura asked.
“They didn’t go anywhere.” Keith reached into his jacket and pulled out a sleeping Platt. He put him back before pushing his collar down slightly to show Chulatt, Plachu, and Chuchule curled up against his neck. “They’ve been sleeping on me for maybe half an hour now.”
Allura frowned. “It couldn’t have been them then. My things just went missing.”
“If it wasn’t them, then who else would steal your sparkly things?” Lance asked.
Blue stiffened and Keith froze. “Uh, Allura, what color were the gems on your jewelry?”
“Blue and red, why?”
Keith sighed and put his knife away. “I know where your stuff is.”
Lance and Allura shared a look before following him out of the room, Blue tucked into her paladin’s arms. He led them to a door near the storage area of the castle. He put a finger to his lips before opening the door. He led them past some shelves before gesturing towards an alcove. The two peaked inside and Lance brought his hand up to hold back a laugh.
A ton of blankets and pillows were piled into a large nest, which was decorated with Allura’s stolen jewelry. The culprit was nuzzling up against a few gems with a purr.
Blue hopped out of Lance’s arms and walked over to nip at Merla’s tail. <Busted.>
The cheetah sat up with a hiss. She looked over at the three watching her and rolled over so she was covering most of the jewelry.
“Nice try,” Keith said, crossing his arms, “but we already saw your stolen hoard.”
<I was just borrowing them. I would have given them back,> she huffed.
Keith rolled his eyes and turned to Allura. “Sorry about her.”
“How’d you know it was her?” Lance chuckled.
“She used to steal Matt and Shiro’s stuff all the time. Anything remotely shiny usually ended up with her if it wasn’t tucked away right. Shiro was missing a handful of piercings for a month before he happened to mention it to me and I was able to get her to give them back.”
“I didn’t think Shiro’s ears were pierced,” Lance muttered.
“They aren’t.”
Lance’s eyes widened while Allura finally turned from the sight. “Why didn’t she just ask? I would have leant her a few things to wear.”
“Oh, she doesn’t wear them, she just likes to, well…” Keith gestured towards where Merla was still lying on the jewelry.
Allura hummed before nodding. “I have an idea. Wait here,” she said before running off.
Ten minutes later, Allura was cheerfully collecting her jewelry while the others stared at the nest; Blue with amusement, the paladins with shock, and Merla with awe. Draped across the nest was a blanket made with glittery white fabric, shiny iridescent thread, and glowing blue gemstones.
“Oh my god,” Keith mumbled.
“Allura, what is that thing?”
<Heaven,> Merla purred, jumping into the nest and rolling onto her back.
“It’s my old baby blanket. I kept it because I like the way it sparkles, but it doesn’t exactly fit me anymore,” Allura said, looking over a ring. She tossed the ring back into the nest with a shrug. “Neither does that.”
“You know, sometimes I forget you are a literal princess, then you say things like this sapphire encrusted blanket is the thing I slept with as a baby and I remember the truth,” Lance said and Keith nodded.
Allura shrugged and tossed a bracelet into the nest before standing up. “Let me know if she’d like more. I think I have a few more rings and anklets that are too small for me now.”
<By the Anodites, I love you,> Merla purred, hopping up to nuzzle Allura’s hip.
“I think that’s a yes,” Lance chuckled.
Allura smiled and scratched her ears. “You’re welcome, Red.”
Merla turned and dug into her nest, pulling out a bracelet in the shape of a silver flower on a pink vine.
“That's… not mine,” Allura said as the cheetah gave it to her.
<Where did you get that from?>
<I took it from a pickpocket at the Fripping Bulgogian.>
<You stole it!>
<Stealing from a thief isn't stealing.>
<Stealing is in the description!>
“It is quite beautiful, wouldn't you say?” Allura said as she slipped it on her wrist.
Keith didn't look up from where his face was in his hand, but Lance nodded as he failed to hold in a laugh at the cats’ arguing.

Snake Wrangler Ch.1
Eli Vanto is suddenly called to Admiral Thrawn's quarters for a pressing question. When he gets there, what he finds is beyond his understanding. And Thrawn's as well. With this new 'modification', they both must find ways to deal with it, and understand it more. Perhaps, along the way, they understand each other a bit more, as well.
(Also posted on AO3!)
******
"Commander? I require some...assistance...in my quarters. Please come as soon as you're able."
Commander Eli Vanto had only received Admiral Thrawn's message minutes ago. Already, he was on his way. There were a few things about that message that didn't settle well with Eli. First, was that Thrawn rarely called him to his quarters. It was normally to his office. Second, and this may have been from him spending so much time with the Chiss, but his tone seemed flustered, almost confused. What was confusing Thrawn? And so much so, that it'd come through his tone of voice?
Something just wasn't right...
Eli tried not to let his mind get away with him. If there was an intruder, and he had somehow snuck into Thrawn's quarters, he could handle it. Eli had faced off against Thrawn in sparring enough times to know that Thrawn could easily hold his own. So it wasn't a surprise attack. Was it something in a report that was confusing him? While Thrawn had learned quite a bit of Basic, some words and phrases still escaped him. Mostly slang, but one didn't find slang often in reports. And it couldn't have been a surprise food or drink Or maybe it could've. Most of the Imperial Fleets were fed the same things, but higher ranking officers (such as Thrawn) did get to choose from an array of meals. Maybe something was mis-ordered? But why would it confuse him so much?
And while Eli had seen Thrawn drink, he'd never seen the Chiss drunk. He had a feeling there'd be more slurring of words, and more Sy Bisti than Basic. Though the thought of a drunk Thrawn brought a smile to his lips. That would be an interesting (perhaps artful?) sight to see...
Eli came out of his thoughts, as he stopped in front of Thrawn's quarters. He hoped that, whatever was going on—or that had happened—that it wasn't serious, and he wasn't too late. Taking in a breath, he pressed the comm button for the room, "Sir? Commander Vanto here. I got your message."
For a moment, there was silence. Then Eli could hear something shifting in the room—an odd sound that he couldn't quite place. Then, finally, Thrawn's voice came through, "You may enter, Commander."
His voice was normal now. But Eli didn't have much time to think on it, as the door slid open, allowing him entrance. Stepping into Thrawn's quarters, he was greeted by a chilly air in his rooms. No surprise there, as Chiss came from quite the frozen planet. Hearing movement in the bedroom, Eli walked further in, peeking in...and had to just completely pause.
It was Thrawn, that much was for sure. He was still dressed in his uniform, his glowing red eyes watching Eli. Though there was something different about his gaze. It was a questioning one, and one asking—almost demanding—an answer. And it didn't take Eli long at all to realize what the problem was. He had to blink a few times, to make sure he wasn't imagining it. And he would've pinched himself if he could get out of his surprise enough to even move.
Thrawn's legs were gone. Not gone, as in amputated and bleeding all over the floor. No...they were replaced with a thick, muscular serpentine body. The scales seemed to shine in the light of his room, and had an iridescent shine to them. The majority of the scales were a bluish shade, similar to Thrawn's skin tone. The underbelly was a stark white. When the snake part of him moved, some of the scales seemed to change color, going from a bluish tint, to black. It was fascinating and gorgeous all the same.
Then Eli snapped back to reality. This was Thrawn's body, somehow changed overnight. He went from having legs, to suddenly having none and having them replaced with a snake-like body. At least from the waist up, he was his normal Chiss self. However, from the waist down...
"Oh boy..." muttered Eli under his breath, his Wild Space accent slipping through for a moment. Standing up a little straighter, he moved in closer, clearing his throat, "What...What happened, sir?"
"Of that, I'm not entirely sure." replied Thrawn, the tip of his tail twitching in what would probably be annoyance, "After I retired to my quarters last night, I woke up and found that my legs had been replaced...with this." He reached down, putting his hand on his snake body, stroking over the smooth scales, "At first, I thought it a prank, that this was perhaps a costume of some sort. But it's most definitely fused with my body."
Kneeling down next to the snake part of Thrawn's body, Eli extended a hand, before hesitating. Looking up at Thrawn, the Chiss nodded, giving him non-verbal permission to go ahead and touch him. Placing his hand against the scales, Eli was surprised to find them warm. Normally the Chiss was cool to the touch—not freezing, per se, but cooler than what a normal human should feel like. But these scales were warm. Did this...transformation...affect how Thrawn's body regulated his temperature? Pressing his palm against the scales, he found that not only could he feel the strong muscles relax and tense under his hand, but there was also a slight pulse. A pulse meant blood flow.
Which meant that this was now a permanent part of Thrawn's anatomy.
As he idly stroked along Thrawn's tail, Eli tried to remember last night's events. There was a retirement party that he and Thrawn were required (read forced) to attend. As usual, Thrawn had plenty of question about the party, though Eli was surprised to learn that Chiss held similar parties, if with a slight few differences. Sometime during the night, the two got separated. Apparently the retiree had summoned Thrawn over, along with a few other higher ranked officers. Eli let them be, until almost an hour passed by. After that, Thrawn had returned to Eli's side, and the two continued to mingle, until the party finally let out. Eli remembered walking with Thrawn, until the two parted ways for their own quarters. He didn't recall Thrawn acting any different. He'd seen the Chiss drink a few drinks, but nothing indicated that he had gotten drugged or drunk.
Unless...
"What's the last thing you remember, sir?" asked Eli, looking up at Thrawn.
"I remember returning to my quarters..." started Thrawn, looking thoughtful, "...And perhaps laying down to rest."
"'Perhaps'?"
Thrawn nodded. The tip of his tail seemed to curl in, almost uncertain, "Perhaps. Once I walked into my quarters, everything was in a haze. I might've consumed too much alcohol at that party..."
"But with your high metabolism, sir, that shouldn't affect you." said Eli, standing up, "If I may, I believe you could drink everyone on the ship under the table."
A hint of a smile twitched at Thrawn's lips, and his tail seemed to relax. A small victory, "...I will ask about what 'drinking under the table' means later, Eli." At that, Eli felt his face flush a bit. It was always a small treat, when Thrawn dropped formality. And his name did sound rather wonderful with Thrawn's accent, "But first, I need to solve this."
He gestured to his new snake body, and Eli nodded in agreement.
"Can you move?" he asked, looking over the long, serpentine body.
Thrawn nodded, hesitating for a moment, before slowly slithering (that was the only word for it, really) around Eli. His long body followed suit. It was then that Eli not only saw those strong muscles moving underneath the scales, but realized how long Thrawn really was.
"I'm still a bit unsure of my body's movements, but it seems as if the muscles can move according to my will." stated Thrawn, stopping in front of Eli. With his lower half being replaced with a snake body, Eli realized Thrawn was much bigger than him now. He was bigger before, but now Eli's head only came up to his chest, instead of around his shoulder. Thrawn seemed to notice this too and blinked, before lowering himself slightly. His pose reminded Eli of a poisonous hooded snake, so it was calming to see him relax. But even so, Eli was still short of his shoulder.
"First things first..." started Eli, gesturing to Thrawn's snake half, "We should probably head to the medbay and see if everything is still in working order. It wouldn't do you any good to suddenly fall ill, because of this...transformation. Plus they might be able to find out what could've caused this."
Thrawn nodded, "A good idea, Eli. Though...how would I arrive there?"
The question confused Eli for a moment, and he looked up at him, "How would you arr--"
Then he saw Thrawn looking at his snake body, and Eli understood. It would be very...shocking...for a half-Chiss half-snake Thrawn to be walking—slithering—down the hall. The rumor mill would explode. Plus word could get out, and Thrawn might find himself punted out of the Imperial Navy. And having gotten this far with his rank...
"I'll make a call to the medbay." said Eli, looking back up at Thrawn, "I'll have them clear the bay of any nurses, and only leave the medical droids. They can't spread rumors. And there's a few routes to the medbay that aren't well traveled that we could use to get there. The less eyes that see, the better. At least, until we fully understand what's going on."
Thrawn nodded in agreement, "I leave it to you, Eli." he said, a small smile gracing his lips, "Thank you for your help."
Eli couldn't stop the blush rising on his cheeks, and he could've sworn the smile grow on the Chiss's lips, "You're welcome, Thrawn. I'll be right back."
