Ohhh I see you're a fellow TLOK and JJBA fan 😌👌 I'm happy I found your blog!

Which Link and game are your favourite? Mines are Skyward Sword and its Link. I would die for SS Link everytime. (Not that I wouldn't for the other Links, but SS Link is special to me just like the game itself)

Oh this is such a tough one! I have to be honest, I only recently got back into the series, like, a year ago with BOTW and then TOTK! I grew up playing Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on the N64 (both of which I fucking loved to death) and then kind of got out of playing them. However, my love for the games rekindled when I played BOTW.

So, I haven't played a lot of them yet. What I did do, however, was watch at least 300 hours of video material on all the games.. xD

My absolute favorite Link would either be the one from TOTK/BOTW or Twilight (the TP Manga just hit different, not sure if your read it). Totk/botw Link has such a silly, adorable personality that I couldn't help, but fall in love with! And I also feel so sorry for him; he basically died trying to protect his kingdom, only to be resurrected, waking up a hundred years later to see he basically died for nothing and having to save the world AGAIN. And if that wasn't enough, a few years later the princess goes missing under his care AGAIN, he has to save the world AGAIN. Which, of course, is his job, but the guilt that must be eating him up alive? It gives me shivers. He also has a soft spot in my heart for getting me back into the franchise <3

Also, sidenote, I do LOVE Skyward Sword (watched way too many video essays for my own good) and I am saving up to get it, because the Story is just so cool? I think it gets hated too much for the gameplay (though, I would have to play it first to make a real, unbiased judgement on that). I totally see that you have good taste hehe😽

I do have to say, as an honorable mention, Time hits different, too. Not just speaking from the Nostalgia standpoint, but his life is so, so tragic. He lost his whole childhood, was sent back to relive it, only to have to go through another tragic adventure. And if that wasn't enough, he dies later on in life during a random battle? Lil thing couldn't get any rest, and I can only imagine how hard it must have been for him :(

SIKE I don't start things I know I won't finish (involves an elaborate planning procedure, ask @getawayfox ) and once I start them I push through it even if I have to drag myself crying (I'm insane I know)

I love writing dialogue, and some people have told me it's nice, so I shall go with that!

Ohh loads I reckon,, I'm going to stick to sharing run on sentences and can't write long plots. Cos I have to do lots of academic writing and copywriting, and that's going pretty steady, so idw to break that and spiral by thinking too much about this :') esp cos idh much time and energy to write fiction rn

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Yes if done right! Like you do things to make sure you don't throw off those who don't know that language and like make it part of the flow. And/Or footnotes! I've done dialogue in Hindi in my fics, and I've written an entire one in a script play format in Hindi too for @curlyy-hair-dont-care

| 12. One thing you'd add to an arc/ book?

I mean the obvious is having Darkstalker actually take the strawberry, but I'd also just wildly rework the second arc to not have Qibli be the final POV character, or at least not split the book between his backstory plot/resolving the contrived prophecy and the larger, more interesting story of Darkstalker. There's a LOT of tiny things I would add to every fuckign book if we're being honest- if I had the freedom, I'd make the overarching plot a lot less direct and a bit more subtler (less of the dragons thinking the same thoughts over n over again abt the prophecy or war) and more focus on character moments and dialogue. Similarly for worldbuilding I'd like subtler bits of storytelling abt what dragon society looks like, so we can get a better look at the characters as a result (it not only helps the DoD feel more isolated from their homes, but then gives the resulting arc 2 characters more depth by having them be from the cultures we only learned abt superficially before).

| 13. One thing you'd take from an arc/ book?

NO MORE JERBOA ANIMUS REMOVAL. YOU KEEP YOUR DUMB DECISIONS IN OR I'LL FIGHT. That said, I'd also remove the "it doesn't steal your soul at all" plot twist of arc 2- I think I'd change it somewhat still to not be directly abt souls, but about livelihood/life potential- the more you use animus magic, the less you feel like you can live your own life/the more you take from your own life (which also gives Stonemover much more justification in how he acts and explains Anemone feeling "wooden" after using animus magic). It keeps the Darkstalker soul twist too- he is obsessed w not dying and w staying powerful, but fails to realize he is still removing his own livelihood- starting with his alienation from his friends and his pursuit of power over them, like a self fulfilling prophecy inherent to animus magic. Plus the scroll is a cool twist. Tbh, removing the soul removing aspect of animus magic makes that element of Darkstalker even weaker: he didn't need to do that, and it's more interesting if he did, but it didn't save him. Animus magic being a powerful but ultimately self destructive tool would still make Darkstalkers attempt to subvert it good, and even add an extra juicy twist to the hourglass- it's true, he's never going to die or lose himself in it, but it's because he would stay asleep for 20 thousand years, like a monkey paw type wish where it's technically true but not really. I can't tell if I'm cooking or not, but I like it >:).

I have a big soft spot for Clay with tusks :}. I just think Mudwings should have tusks. Also Tsunami with a beard/barbels like a beard, bc my girl deserves it. A lot of my design HCs are from fanart- so like, when I see Sunny with Nightwing elements in her design, I cheer and holler, but I never thought of that stuff myself. A design element I don't see in drawings tho is I always HC Qibli as having a scar from Winter frostbreathing his leg- that should've honestly had more consequences than it did, it's weird that they just brushed it off bc it could've been some juicy character drama.

I'm kind of inclined to steal @pidgetyy's answer of Skywings, bc other ppl caring abt tribes is what makes me like them more than my own strong preferences (bc I like whatever tribe inspires me the most, and pidget comes up w some really cool Skywings) (you should follow them) (go do it now). Buuuuut,,,,,, I also really like Sandwings :}. I think they're silly and cute and their little tails are funny

we get this thing often triggered by this thing (by which we mean sexual activity, usually orgasms) which we know INTELLECTUALLY for anyone else with our history and symptoms we would say is very very very very very obviously at least partly body memories

like, we've had inside TELL US that. and we know exactly what parts and memories it would link to. (forced birth and pregnancy terminations) . It also only started happening after R, the part who directly holds the worst of it came forward and those memories that had been told in therapy that the rest of us thought were made up, were shown they must be real. (Like, we had similar extreme pain every period, but never at any other point ever, until R and parts connected to this all exploded after someone's pregnancy announcement.) The contraction pains are insane.

we've had a professional meet R, the child part who holds the worst of this and knew it was real without even a single word. she literally relived it in front of her. it was horrific.

everything very obviously makes sense but

we can't believe it. and every time it happens we convince ourselves it is "just" physical. despite all the evidence

we can have orgasms completely normally when not triggered or other parts around I assume. and then we can have times where it triggers the most extreme pain we KNOW we are going to die. sometimes it's not even after any sexual activity. just a split second and we are in agony. the pain is unbearable, we go faint and frozen cold and covered in sweat and our body tries to be sick (we have a block around being allowed to be sick) and we can not speak or move or anything.. physically can't even hold our phone to call someone and even if we could we can not even scream the pain is so bad. we ride the line of passing out from pain and we repeat to inside it'll pass it'll pass it'll pass. and it does. and it's only ever about 15mins. but it feels like fucking days and every single time we say we need go DO SOMETHING about it, we can not survive it again. and then we forget about it.

we also literally bleed when certain stuff is triggered. we recently heard someone else experiences that too which helps.

we also used to have it more and for longer and the only thing to help has been to actively talk to those parts while it happens even tho we feel we will die too.

like. I guess it has to be real. for anyone else we'd believe that. but for us we are like nah its a very unique hormonal disorder (which like obviously our hormones are fucked becos does anyone have extreme childhood trauma without something like endometriosis happen tbh) despite the fact we have very regular periods and don't even often have that level of extreme pain during them anymore, and the fact none of it fits, and the obvious triggers, and memories and etc etc

thoughts on the first omake story?

At it’s fine. it’s fun, but it doesn’t really tell us a lot. While I’m a little disappointed that we get all the lovely cgs for this one, instead of say nikei’s backstory, I can see why this one was done first as they’re kinda the easier loose end to wrap up fast.

A lot of people had guessed that iroha and syobai would survive the bridge and would likely be on the run from the foundation. I like that they’re pretending to be despairs to con money out of people, as syobai never had any qualms about playing whatever side to get paid. And the little facade was fun, I can see them taking the credit for the killing game and getting away with it considering how few survivors were left.

I also kinda like that iroha hasn’t changed, she’s still the same selfish, lazy gremlin. She wants to be back in society but she isn’t willing to put the work in to do that herself, so she’s just following syobai. It’s honestly my favourite thing about her. It would’ve felt weird if falling off a bridge caused her to turn her life around if watching all her friends die didnt tbh. I guess she’s gotten better at acting/lying since chapter 4 haha

It made me feel a little for syobai tho, like I knew his life wasn’t glamorous but the way he’s both kinda tired and acting like it’s a usual day for him kinda nailed a little more for me how grim his life could be at times. Maybe that’s just me?

The only thing that kinda bothered me was it didn’t really feel like it was gonna link to the rest of the stories, and it didn’t really tell us anything new? So I wasn’t really sure what the point was. We all knew they survived as Linuj just loves to tell us when people are dead (cough cough telling us the people in the sim are dead in chapter 6 about 10 times cough cough). I guess we know they’re separated off from yuuki? That the foundation is tracking them? That despairs are dwindling but still very much a danger? It’s kinda all stuff we already knew

Iroha’s outfit is cute, syobai suits pinstripes, the cgs are nice, but the topic itself was kinda eh. Perhaps it’ll link in with the later ones and that’ll be cool and I’ll eat my words. I’m excited to see the rest tho, I just hope that they aren’t all set post game.

less that i wouldnt let them and more that they never will: i have a couple critical role wips, mainly a big beauyasha college!au that i fully outlined 3 years ago 😅 also a breath of the wild link/sidon fic, again fully outlined vut incomplete. i like to go back and tinker with old fics so maybe they'll see the light of day eventually.

yeah! i won't lie, i used to be pretty embarrassed about it. but fic writing is a pretty big part of my life and tbh i don't see the point in being embarrassed anymore. i don't usually go into specifics of the fics but most of my close friends know the fandoms i write for! there's been an interesting cultural shift in more mainstream places online and people are much more upfront about reading fanfic, so why shouldn't i be upfront about writing it? i don't really like to let people read it tho lol

Why I like them:

I'm always a sucker for a powerful antagonist lol Especially when they have heaps of trauma built in too, and Toji has that for sure! The way he was outcast by his family but used his heavenly restriction to overcome so much and become a notorious assassin is just peak character to me

Why I don't:

There's not really anything I dislike about him tbh 🤷🏽‍♀️

Favorite scene: 

To thirst over- In the anime when he catches the fish in his mouth and then the way his tongue sticks out after releasing it??? 🥵🥵🥵 Mappa had NO RIGHT --plus the backflips in the air with his shirt riding up juuuust enough to give a peak at his back - Chefs's kiss /CINEMA/

Uhhhh him and the worm lmao The fact the official fanbook says: "Toji was able to establish a friendly relationship with his inventory curse by earnestly training it like a pet." makes me giddy

Headcanon:

I dunno what's canon, fanon or simply conjecture since i havent read the manga but- I dont believe Toji ever /actually/ forgot who Megumi was in part 1 of Hidden Inventory. I think he was playing it up to downplay Megumi's importance to him in order to keep him safe. I think nearly every decision he makes is to try and keep Megs safe. Naming him a traditionally girl's name to potentially keep the rest of the Zenin clan off their trail since they dont value women no matter their cursed techniques. Finding a wealthy second wife to link himself to so that Megs wouldn't grow up destitute with just him ((even tho i read Toji and Tsumiki's mom apparently "ran away together" and spent up all the inheritance? i dunno i still wanna believe okay)) The way he saw his first wife/first love tbh- in Megumi when they were fighting in the alley and he flashbacked to her telling him to keep Megs safe. I also think that regardless of if it turned out Megs had ended up with the Zenins and taken their clan name after his first death- or the current timeline of him remaining Fushiguro, that Toji would have killed himself to protect Megumi in that last moment. I think the fact that he still had the Fushiguro name let him at least die more peacefully this second time. 

Unpopular opinion:

It's hard for me to read certain Toji x Reader content because of how integral I view his relationship with Megumi's mom. I'm not a fan of erasing her from his story/life or having reader be that person for him. I dunno why this is a sticking point for me of all the things I read and write lmao Still love reading shameless smut and also sometimes fluff with him that doesnt dive too deep into things but for deeper dives I feel like any Toji x Reader should be mainly one sided, unrequited romantic feelings for him 

A wish: 

More backstory for him! There was a fan mockup of sequel focused on him as a kid and growing up and I wanted it to be true sooo bad! I mean we all know he's Gege's favorite so if Gege didnt hate us they'd make it happen, but alas 😩 For now I make do with the adorable art by DDub1618 on twitter!

starting off with a full confession of i have not been letting myself have high expectations for this game? p5 was extremely up my alley in terms of aesthetics/music/themes, and i could tell long before i really considered getting into it that p4 was not going to hit that same chord of yes-good-but-also that has made me obsess over p5 for the last 5 years. it would be unfair to compare it to p5 (they're different games with different stories and different goals) so i've been really trying to go into it with an open mind and appreciate it on it's own merits!

that being said... i was def right and while i've been enjoying the game (for the most part) it hasn't caught me the same way, and i keep finding myself thinking "where the fuck are my kids" lol

i am getting more and more into it the further i play tho! played for nearly 10 hours yesterday and was already more invested by the end of the day than the beginning, so i'm hoping that continues

mentioned this in another post but as much as i hate the "best friend (who is a perv and an asshole but we treat it like it's funny and likable)" archetype, yosuke is so far more tolerable than ryuji. he's been weird about yukiko, and an ass to chie, and i can tell he's gonna be weird about kanji, but he's at least focused on and dedicated to solving the case instead of being a huge glory hound, and occasionally has any self-awareness whatsoever

i really like chie tho! hate the weird focus in her confidant social link so far about "am i girly enough? :(" but she's very sweet and funny and crits a lot

haven't spent a lot of time with yukiko but i have a hunch i'll enjoy her fine

as much as these kids are starting to grow on me, they def shine... solo, which is unfortunate. all of the team "banter" so far that isn't directly about the case is chie and yosuke seeming to really hate each other, which uh. sucks. i want friends, please tell me they become friends.

also frustrating is the mid-00s gender essentialism and homophobia, which is becoming Prominent as we get into kanji's part of the story

p5 def had its moments (looking directly at you shinjuku gays) (and at ryuji) (and at the beach scenes) but Fuck

i also really love yumi!! her rank 3 was Rough and i loved it. i'm going to try to wait on romancing decisions but she's an early lead (if she's even allowed? no idea what options are available here tbh)

the combat is quite a bit simpler than p5, but also way simpler than nocturne, just in very different ways. it's still smt/persona combat, so i still love it, but i miss the complexity from p5r specifically (tho appreciate the more streamlined nature compared to nocturne, especially given the fewer quality of life mechanics)

all in all, general fewer quality of life mechanics, which is annoying but expected so it's not really detracting from my enjoyment

Gary McAllister, a cop buddy of John Raglan, the detective who worked Johanna’s case. JR was murdered today. Dick Coonan was a hired assassin to kill JB. it was 19 years ago, then JB was killed 12 years ago.  Raglan knows stuff & mcallister ALSO knows stuff & he’s keeping his mouth shut.

Mcallister mentions this guy tho. Vulcan Simmons, runs drug trade, got involved with Raglan.  (remember this guy for future seasons) If he’s this involved, why would mcallister point u to him?

Ok so in the alley where JB was killed, Bob Armen, an undercover FBI agent in the mafia was killed. The alley used to be a mob hangout.  Joe Pulgatti the mafia member pled guilty to killing Bob Armen.  Raglan was the arresting officer.  Pulgatti is in prison so they visited him, he pled guilty to get life instead of lethal injection.  Kidnapping went sideways. 3 guys in ski masks rolled up in a van to take Joe on a “tour of the city” & bobby went for one of their guns but ended up on the wrong side of it. (acab.) There was a truce between families bc pro kidnappers were nabbing guys from all five fams.  ghost crew Joe was in that alley but only him, bobby, & the kidnappers knew that.  How did raglan know? Raglan was a kidnapper.  Johanna was murdered there 7 years after JP’s incarceration.  (You look just like her, you know.) JB was the only one who wrote back to JP.  Joe, that’s most cops. Even if it is not, 10 people & 2 nazis makes 12 nazis.

Oh phew it’s a flashbang.  Tho, as someone who is already partially deaf, it has helped me to realize just how scary a flashbang is. You cannot rely on your ears when your eyes are out of commission, you cannot rely on your eyes when your ears are down... Plus, a flashbang is not just a flash & a bang, it is also a slap. It hits you physically, so if hellen keller was hit by a flashbang she would still notice the blast. Plus, flashbangs can get really hot.

Did he choose ryan bc ryan made the jerk you around comment? Did he choose ryan bc he knew esposito had been trained in this?

Poor ryan, not only is he being tortured but his clothes are wet too. Dang they had to frickin tie esposito up sexual style bc he was too strong & would have broken out to save his partner by now KR, once he’s out of the water again: Listen ass-clown, I was in catholic school for 12 years. Hell they used to do this to me for talking in cla- *dunks him underwater* BRUH WHY IS THAT SO ACCURATE. (& I mean, the writers really missed an opportunity. If he was queer in catholic school, like me, then he has definitely experienced this kind of torture.) & this is almost as much torture for esposito as it is for ryan.  But like how much do the cops really know? Would you be giving away your hand if you told them? Except they would kill you right after so this is the only way to survive. 

So lockwood is here, he has someone holding back esposito, he has someone dunking ryan, & he has a guard out front. That is an amount of people.  Going to be cold/sick looking for a place to stay? Or drunk walking down the street, that works too.  I like how she keeps her tone of voice as if she’s drunk bc he might not be able to hear her words but he can hear the tones. Hypothermia, probably some lungs-being-sad disease from possibly getting ice in there, bruising from being choked like a dog, hearing damage, ocular damage, & burns or bruises from the flash-bangs? Beckett used to be a unique character with a pixie cut, then with emo midlength hair (well it was 2009 ish) but now she looks boring. Just like any other white woman on instagram. She is indistinguishable from Addison from quantam leap. They both are just So Nondescript! Let beckett be normal again! Let her be cool again! Let her have a unique hairstyle! (but ig in 2009 she was ALSO nondescript & had the same hair as everyone else)

Plot:

   The story itself was a little bit messy at the beginning. There are too many plot lines, and there are definitely way too many characters. Some of them are useless throughout the whole series and play a bigger part in the whole action only in the end. Some of them could never exist, and we wouldn't lose anything.

   On the other hand, I liked the way all the details about the main mystery linked in the last episode, and the ending was... logical, I guess. It just was making sense, and it wasn't stupid. An antagonist had a reasonable motivation. They weren't doing all the evil stuff because they are just evil. Of course, we've got a bunch o plot twists, which I wasn't expecting as always. It was nice to be caught off guard by the show.

   Overall the plot was kinda stuffed with everything and everyone, luckily the ending set things straight and we’ve got a decent story at the end, tho I’d not say it’s extraordinary or breathtaking.

Characters:

   Well... Let's start with Wednesday herself. First of all... I should've said that earlier, but the thing is, as almost 20 y.o. respectable old lady, I feel a bit too old to watch the show. And it's absolutely okay, it’s a teenage show, it wasn't made for me in the first place. I guess at 15-16 I’d would be amused by the main character, who's not like other girls, have soooooo many abilities, who's the outsider amongst the outsiders, and doesn’t give a fOck about people around, but at the same time, they are still super nice to her and would LITERALLY DIE FOR HER. Likeee... I've lived a little. I just know if someone would act that way irl, they'd probably be bullied or ignored by everyone. So why are you like that? Why are you trying so hard for her? It isn't worth it. She doesn’t send you any signals, the signals are literally -_-. Just find yourself a less toxic friend/love interest.

   I'm not saying Wednesday should be a nice, polite extrovert. Like, no, she's Wednesday Addams after all (although I’ve never watched other Adams family film adaptations, here am I, reviewing that bloody show, only because Ima a cool TikTok girl). The ugly truth is, It doesn’t make her a complex, multifaceted character, she’s just cold and rude all the time. She BARELY changes in the end, but I was hoping for more improvement. And to be completely honest pretty much everyone in this show is like that. I can’t even pick a favorite character, they’re all so... empty ig. Of course, such characters have the right to exist, I have nothing against them. I’m just more into character development, complexity, and controversy of actions (like the actions that are controversial toward the character’s belief system, not society's morals controversial, because you’ll find plenty of the last one in that show). 

Moving on to the Visuals:

   Omg, Hyde is just a big fucking joke, like how much money they had for that show? Not so much ig.

   Alright, I’m just mocking the poor kids’ show.

   I usually don’t talk about CGI in that category. The visual part of the show was fine. Colors, character design and scenography were consistent and created the right atmosphere (they should have released the show around Halloween tbh). I liked some of the Wednesday outfits, it’s classy but modern at the same time. Enid’s looks were fun too, I think I just want to dress like both of them, depending on my mood. 

Atmosphere: 

   Welp, it was ok ig. Like again, I wish they should have released the show around Halloween, that would be so on point. I liked the whole mystery detective vibes, I just wish the plot would be more concentrated on that.

   There was also one really annoying thing I should mention. Like all these funny quirky things for GenZ, like mentioning Instagram and TikTok or talking about mansplaining and misogyny that doesn’t make any sense. As an official GenZ delegate, I assure you: it’s cringy, we don’t want that, don’t do that ever again pleaseee. 

The soundtrack was fine, but nothing special. 

Soooo that’s pretty much it. The show’s okay overall, I don’t regret spending some time on it, but If you won’t watch it you won’t lose much.

i heard marcy’s outfit was a reference to the lord of the rings or something but i’m going to be entirely honest and say that i have never watched that and barely know the basic plot. i do not understand any references and connections and i am sorry i keep on putting off watching it please say your own thoughts on the marcy outfit

besides having matching colour palettes, the thing that connects everything is that these characters are a part of a trio in their respective games that fit with the calamity trio

tbh im also a little rusty on zelda lore and forgot some stuff in breath of the wild but we all know that link is part of a triforce trio with zelda and ganon. amphibia takes a lot of inspiration the zelda games but one thing that’s similar is that the main trio has a strong smart heart thing going on.

in case you don’t know, the three parts of the triforce is connected to strength, wisdom, and courage. these can be easily connect to the calamity trio’s association with strength wit and heart, with courage being heart.

long way to say that anne and link are both connected to the whole heart part of the trifecta and anne dressing up as link makes sense. botw link probably becausethe outfit’s new and blue

edelgard is one of the three lords in three houses along with dimitri and claude. they don’t have some special connection, but they could be applied to the strength wit and heart symbolism. claude is the smart one, dimitri is pretty drivien by emotions, and edelgard is very strong physically and emotionally. she’s pretty determined to reach her war goals, willing to die, suffer, and sacrifice pretty much everything she cares about. she’s said before she’d find a way to keep walking even if her limbs failed her, which yeah, sasha would. generally a pretty strong will character but a pretty stubborn one at that
