sejanus, who is willing to die for what he believes in—for the people who have suffered, who is willing to become a martyr and stands his ground, but still cries for his mother when he dies. and marcus, who accepts that he’s going to die after being reaped, who refuses to eat and turns a cold shoulder to any kind of help, but still runs from death as soon as he gets the chance to be free.

Captain:

• The middle of three children (he had one older sister and one younger sister)

•Had to take care of his mother and sisters after his father left

•Met Fanny a few times in his childhood- his mother was a tutor for Fanny’s daughters. (He saw her as a parental figure)

•Joined the army to make his mother proud

•Didn’t talk much as a child (he thought what he had to say was unimportant)

Pat:

•Came out as bi when he was 15

•Heavily bullied for his personality and glasses

•Met Julian whilst on a trip with his parents (they despised each other)

•One of 5 children

Thomas:

•Both his parents were also poets

•Was read to in Scottish Gaelic

• His father was Scottish and his mother was English

• Had 2 siblings (Francis also lived with them)

• Had a fear of all animals especially horses

Fanny:

•An only child who was born late into her parents life

•Tried to run away the night before her wedding (she was caught by George and her father)

• Often felt isolated and used books to escape from reality.

• Her favourite colour was blue (she wore it when she was at her happiest)

• Got her first dog for her 10th birthday

Kitty:

• Favoured by her mother over Eleanor (also by her governess)

• Would always talk to Robin (everyone thought she was insane)

•Kind to everyone regardless of how they treated her

•Almost killed by Eleanor twice whilst playing hide and seek

• Told her father she likes girls when she was 10 (he threatened to disown her)

Julian:

•Spoiled only child

•Raised by his grandfather (his parents were alcoholics and very young)

• Met Margot when they were both 18

•Secretly wanted to have a normal childhood

I’m the anon that sent in all the Ruby stuff! It makes me so happy that you love her so much. I didn’t expect her to be such a beloved character to you and I was kind of nervous that you would have hated her tbh. ^^;

Something Ruby related — I had a fic about Twig and co. confronting the siblings before I ultimately scrapped it because I could not write villainous characters without making them feel cliché. I do remember this one line said by Ruby’s sister when she lashes out towards Twig:

“You wouldn’t get it. You have a cushy life style and you baby your daughter instead of actually raising her. We’re doing that ungrateful, spoiled brat a favor — we’re teaching her how to survive. You wouldn’t know the meaning of that with that silver spoon in your mouth.”

I don’t blame you for struggling with not making the siblings feel cliché— writing villainous characters gets 900x more difficult the second you don’t want to make them sympathetic. Ark was fairly simple for me to write, even in scrapped scenes where he was all-in with his villainous role during the events of the post-game. Twig’s aunt, meanwhile, gave me a heck of a hard time while I was developing her backstory.

I opened Pinterest for the first time in months.

That made me realize a lot about how bad I was actually doing and how much of a Waffle House Index use of Pinterest is for adult me, apparently.

I hadn’t realized it had grown that foundational to me in a healthy-brain-exercise-and-hobby-joy way. Nice to know moving forward! It’s another sign I can keep track of and use to spot correlation/indicator patterns earlier my behavior.

I love this kind of thing, it makes me so excited!

like separately— reporters and everyone in PR like them just fine. bakugou? he definitely had a colorful vocabulary, but hey, when reporters ask him the really interesting questions, he’ll deliver on the answers. (but ngl getting interesting questions from reporters are rare for bakugou since reporters kinda ask him the same (ex: you took down that villain today, yes? you were in top speed, did you break your record in villain takedowns?) but again i kinda don’t blame him that man is something else 😭 /lh)

as for izuku, he’s either a heaven sent or kind of a mess 💀 again, the reporters like him more than bakugou because of how nice and sunshine-y he is. it’s definitely a nice break from getting lambasted /hj

(at the same time, he’s so authentic it hurts 😨 and i mean it in the way that he’ll give a really detailed answer in such a short amount of time AND sometimes he’ll go off track but its okay because he’s the number 1 hero, right 😃 but it’s still kind of hell for reporters because they gotta think of a quick and witty response 😭 poor them sometimes 💀)

but put those two together 😭 romantically or platonically— they’d be every reporter’s (and also every pr employee’s) worse nightmare because 😭😭 they’re a mess together whether they realize it or not and even when they do realize it it kinda gets messier but hey! the memes

like there’s this one comic i saw of izuku giving a response in an interview and bakugou just runs into the frame and screams at him randomly— and izuku laughs, being alarmed 😭 (it was also based off an actual interview, though idk which one ☹️💀) and i think that’s pretty accurate. they’re so chaotic in media.

but this is absolute hell when they actually need to be professional and serious 💀 both of their pr teams are always this 🤏 close to just crying on the floor that one midsommar scene style every time they’re supposed to be giving a professional-yet-authentic response to reporters, and even press conferences because it’s almost impossible when those two are in the same frame istg
