Diluc

Absolute pretty boy who has braincells, but only if Kaeya is not there. In his mind, Kaeya’s presence makes his room loose 40% of their common sense. He can’t prove it just yet but he’s working on it. He majors in accounting but also has a minor in marketing, logistics’ management, fia- he majors everything business related. He’s going to become the next Elon Musk through smarts or by getting the competition drunk. There can be no contest if he’s the only candidate. He’s actually a hard working guy that overworks and stresses way too much. You have daily “Diluc recharge” evenings where he just hangs onto you while you go through your day.

“Don’t fucking talk to me until I’ve had my coffee,” except there is no coffee - he drinks grape juice out of juice boxes and his only energy boost is when he meets up with you - and that’s his constant mood. So he usually only hangs around you and Jean, since she has childhood friend status and is actually an angel. By default, Lisa is added and Diluc doesn’t mind her but if he see’s Kaeya, it’s full on war paint mode. If he's not busy with work or studies, he's usually with you either in your dorm or his apartment.

He has a fanclub and he seriously hates it and tries to do everything in his power to get Ningguang to take it down. Shouldn’t this be against his rights? But she refuses for whatever reason and makes a whole speech about free will. No matter what he does, someone manages to take a picture and it get’s printed in the university’s newspaper. The only bonding time he has with Kaeya is every Monday, where they collect and burn all the universities newspapers before anyone can get their hands on it. You always bring marshmallows to make smores during their arson activities.

“When I graduate I’m going to burn this school down to the ground. That’s not a threat it’s a promise.”

Ningguang

Is secretly the leader of the Diluc fanclub - not that she likes Diluc, she’s in a questionable platonic poly marriage with you and Beidou - but it was the easiest way to gain funds for the student council. Which she is the president of, so rip Diluc the fanclub stays. Ruthless business woman I tell you. But she can run in heels so her danger factor rises by at least 20%.

Majors in social sciences and law but more specifically the political science & government. She saw the Imperial State Crown that the Queen of England wears and says yes, that’s mine now. If she’s not with Beidou and you planning on “how to infiltrate the state government just for lols”, then she’s with Keqing, Ganyu, and Zhongli discussing student council things. Should they or should they not tell the student body that they can see everyone’s search results? Sit back and relax as the school goes into chaos. 

She’s probably the scariest person on campus No, she is the scariest person on campus. She’s the scariest person on campus. But secretly she’s popping 20 aspirins just to make it through a night. She has the digestive system of steel. She still holds the title of "seriously do not try and beat her in a drinking game it's never going to happen" and that's her proudest achievement in life but sadly she can’t put it on her resume. Kaeya is still trying to beat her out of spite but so far it hasn't been working. You’re seriously concerned for her when she get’s challenged but Beidou gives you a way-to-hard slap on the back and cheers her on. If Ninngguang somehow get’s alcohol poisonings she’ll somehow find away to make a profit out of it.

Kaeya

One day he chugged too much mouth wash, passed out, and somehow woke up in university majoring in law. His idea is that if he is apart of the law, he can therefore stand above it. To be fair, his only goal in life is to say “I am the manager” and he can go live the rest of his life in bliss or as a hermit. He’s secret best friends with you but wouldn't be caught dead beside you. He will stab a bitch if you ever get hurt but will still trip you on the way home. Seriously, you have no idea why people find him attractive. Your guess is it’s the eye patch or the clap of his ass cheeks that keeps alerting everyone.  

He’s apart of the newspaper club and if anyone asks: No, he has no idea who keeps taking all the newspapers and burns them in the back of the campus. Originally, he joined because he was nosy and needed to join some type of club for his resume. He sometimes feels bad for his junior assistant Amber because he keeps tricking her and says that Diluc is secretly a demon that is trying to steal all the jobs and is apart of the lizard government hell bent on eradicating the human race. He even brought out a whiteboard for this joke, he’s dedicated to his job ok? 

The type of guy to try and be humble and say his work is “okay” but will choke a bitch if anyone agrees. He tends to leave everything last minute and says that it’s his drug since actual drugs could land you one year in prison and a maximum penalty of $2,000. You have to awkwardly hold in your concerned mother head shake when you see him speed running his assignment literally right when the professor is walking around to check if students finished.

Mona

Broke wallet #2. Zhongli is broke wallet #1 but Childe simps for him so is he really a broke wallet at this point? In this essay, I Mona Megistus, will explain why I have the rights to the title “Broke Wallet #1″...

Believes that astrology should be an actual career path but refuses to take astronomy as her major. I can read the stars not a textbook that tells me how to calculate the mass of the sun divided by the fucks I give. Instead she went into Philosophy and cries to Albedo, who is an actual prodigy genius- sir lend some braincells to everyone else please?, that her professor keep turning her paper down because “star reading” is not an academic source.

Fischl wants her to join the occult club because, surprisingly, Mona is very good at telling people’s fates through her crayon sketch ouija board. She thinks first year Fischl is cute but is put off by the cosplay roleplay that she has going on. She would join except that stupid hat wearing gremlin in her lit class would make fun of her if he found out.

You gave her half your lunch one day and bought her a doughnut "because she seemed upset" and "out of the goodness of your heart" whatever the hell that means. She thinks you pensioned it but once that thought comes she takes a bite. Poison from a doughnut is not the worst way to go out, classes are hard enough. She’s waiting for the lord to strike her down anyways.

Venti

Slept through most of highschool and people question how he got into university. He’s a music major (wow how fucking original is that), and if anyone asks him to serenade someone or just do anything, he’ll do it for the right price. Or if you buy him alcohol because he still keeps getting ID checked. He’s banking on Kaeya actually becoming a lawyer or being on good terms with Diluc so he can finally stop being arrested for looking like a toddler.

Takes one step into classes and quickly nopes out and goes back to bed. Professors have no idea how he hasn't dropped out or failed. He just has some god given talent. He does whine at you to pretty pretty please with a cherry on top tutor him because you're such an angel and would never leave your poor but awesome best friend hanging right? He needs to get this essay down but how he is suppose to explain how the number 10 is symbolic and connects to the universe or the meaning of life. Do you think he can just say it’s apart of his culture and make up some random myth to pretend it looks like he knows what he’s doing? 

He’s honestly going with the flow and put his brain on the back burner all of highschool and only now realizes wait, I actually have to use my brain?

He’s been banned from most club chats since Venti has the no chill card. Someone says “lol I look ugly today.” and he’ll respond "yup, you look like a cow." and he get’s banned. Zhongli keeps a speed run timer on his phone just to document these occasions.

Childe

An actual dumbass that somehow does well. He eats sandwiches with the crust off, this heathen. Surprisingly he’s studying to become a physical therapist but most of his experience has come from breaking his own bones. You’re scared how he's going to be if he actually becomes a therapist. If he'll make bets with his patients or try to one up whatever crazy injury they get into. Everything is a challenge to him that sometimes the best way to deal with Childe is to knock him out. 

This man really knows the way to a Zhongli’s woman's heart. Through micro transactions. Mona saw him accidently drop $20 and just shrugged and walked off. She has never been both spiritually and physically offended in her life. She did take the $20 though. As much as you hate leeching on Chile when he’s basically a walking wallet that probably uses bills as tissue paper, you can’t help but give him puppy eyes while planning on how to get into his will. If he even plans on having one, he might honestly write “whoever wins in a gladiator style duel in my funeral’s tournament, they will get my fortune.”. 

Any sport the university offers Childe is probably in it. Which is how he met Zhongli, challenged him to a fight, proceeded to have his ass handed to him, got a backhanded compliment, and screamed to you he was in love and how he found his soulmate. He's secretly very sappy and has cried and watched every Disney and Pixar movie at least 28 times.

God if it isn’t Scaramouche, it’s Childe that ruins the aesthetic. This is why I hate you. Why do you people enable me like this, it isn’t even good. This is pretty much a @ yourself moment and I vibe hard with Venti. This entire post was just to make a joke about the clap of Kaeya’s ass cheeks alerting the guards.

let’s talk about perfuma. imo, she’s one of the best characters in the show despite being underdeveloped, and i wanna explain why. she could’ve been extremely average, just some lanky flower girl that doesn’t believe in violence and loves everyone, but she is so much more than that (and it pisses me off that y’all reduce her to that).

in her introductory episode, perfuma is clearly in denial about the horde almost destroying plumeria. she doesn’t want to acknowledge the problem, wants someone else to take care of it for her. she’s scared of change, and that is because change makes you vulnerable. if things always stay the same, there’s a whole lot less danger and uncertainty, and therefore you’re safe. secure. perfuma’s kingdom is dying and she can’t bear to accept it because it is unknown to her. it’s putting her in a position where she is no longer secure. this fear of vulnerability can also be seen at the beginning of 1x10 when the princess alliance falls apart and she literally says ‘being together makes us vulnerable.’

the thing is, perfuma isn’t wrong. look at her choice of words. she says that being together makes them vulnerable, not weak. here, she kind of has the words mixed up, but we see that by s5 she has come to understand the difference. that’s what’s so great about perfuma, her motivation to do better, her hunger for self-improvement. it’s why she’s such an important part of catra’s redemption, actually, because she embodies the kind person catra is or wants to be.

let me explain: perfuma is an angry, impatient, short-tempered character. we are shown this again and again with her passive aggression to others and how easily mermista can annoy her with trivial things (sitting in her seat in the war room, for example). catra is also an angry, impatient character, but perfuma works every day to manage those emotions. she knows she needs them, she uses them as a tool (calling catra out, for example, is a time they were practically pivotal for getting her point across) but she also acknowledges they can hurt the people she loves. we know she does a meditation ritual each morning and we see in 4x02 how quickly she can unravel without it. she wants to be better. she puts the work in. that is such a valuable lesson for a character like catra who has always felt she’s just not good enough, she’s always going to be this angry and unlovable and no one can do anything about it.

so, 4x02. it’s a brilliant episode for perfuma’s character, really, and the first proper development we’ve had since 1x04. we see her anger, her impatience, but we also see her self-doubt. her belief that she’s inadequate, ‘just a flower girl.’ this is also when we get introduced to her little mantra that becomes a bit of a motif later on, ‘i can do this.’ we know perfuma doesn’t wholeheartedly believe this, but she says it anyway because she wants to. perfuma wants to be better. she will do whatever she can to be her best self, whether that be actually conquering her gripes with cacti or realising there’s a loophole with the roots (love that conflict resolution by the way, another good deconstruction of hero bs by spop).

this episode is also significant because it comes back to perfuma’s fear of change, of vulnerability. she’s thrown into a situation she doesn’t want to be in, one she feels miserably unprepared for, and she hasn’t done the one thing that puts her at her best beforehand, but she pulls through in the end because she is surrounded by people that support her, that listened to her and consoled her when she was vulnerable. 4x02 teaches perfuma the power of self-worth and the power of true, mutual, unconditional love, which can only come with vulnerability.

and this is where her character gets really interesting, in my humble opinion. ngl, one of the reasons i love perfuma so much is because she’s a pisces and i am too. i’m not gonna go astrology hoe on you rn, i’m just using this to demonstrate the part of her character that teaches others. pisces, if you don’t know, love to play therapist. we like to help the people around us with whatever strifes they may have because we think we’re fucking great at it. perfuma actually is.

you know how i said perfuma learns the importance of self-belief and vulnerability? yeah, she teaches both of those lessons to other characters in s5. like i said, perfuma is a character who values self-betterment and also happens to be a pisces, so when she sees scorpia, riddled with so much self-doubt and such low self-esteem, her immediate response is just i’m gonna teach that bitch how to love herself. and she does!

i’ve seen some people say they don’t like scorfuma because it seemed as though the writers just decided to ‘fix’ all of scorpia’s problems by giving her a girlfriend. that’s very dumb, first of all because they aren’t even together by the end of the show, they’re just interested in one another. second, the whole point of she-ra is that we’re stronger together. scorpia doesn’t go through growth in s5 because a girl likes her, she goes through growth because someone is showing her support and love for the first time in her life and that empowers her. you know, the worth that scorpia finds in herself doesn’t hinge on perfuma, like it did with catra. it’s about her as an individual, and perfuma so clearly makes it about that when her big lesson revolves around singing. scorpia loves singing. perfuma tells her she should do it because she enjoys it, a sentiment you’d never hear in the horde, and when scorpia does sing, she is actively rejecting the people who did make all her self-worth hinge on them catra. she’s doing something for herself, because she enjoys it, because it makes her happy, because she can.

it’s that same mantra: i can do this, i can do this. i really love how this was brought back from 4x02, how perfuma repurposed something that taught her such a valuable lesson for someone else. perfuma and scorpia are great foil characters actually, both constantly underestimated and thought of as weak by their groups, but some of the strongest characters in the show due to their deep value of love and self. i can do this, and i know i can because you believe in me, because i believe in myself. it’s brought back again in 5x10, when the last thing perfuma says before scorpia breaks the beam is ‘i know you can [pull through]’. she tells catra she believes in scorpia. it’s that belief, that support from other people that empowers the self to believe it too. we are stronger together, you know??

anyways, onto vulnerability. return to the fright zone is in my top ten episodes of the whole fucking show and you might think that’s a bit weird but i don’t. 5x10 encompasses so many important themes of spop so well and tells them with scorfuma and spinnetossa, our two side lesbian couples. this is significant since perfuma literally draws a parallel between her and catra at the end of the episode, and catradora and spinnetossa have always been significant to one another. i’m gonna say it, perfuma is the reason catra is finally able to confess to adora in 5x13. i’ve already talked about how important perfuma is to catra’s motivation to improve, but she literally makes catra rethink everything about strength and vulnerability, two words catra has a lot of feelings about.

catra fears vulnerability. we know this. she has such a deep love for those important to her but is never able to articulate it because she worries she’ll be taken advantage of, shot down, laughed at, whatever. all of this stems from the abuse she suffered at shadow weaver’s hands and her attachment issues, and it’s also why catra pretends to hate scorpia’s very open displays of affection and love: she sees it as weak because she has been taught to, but it’s all she ever really wanted to be.

we also know perfuma used to fear vulnerability. she doesn’t any more. the entirety of the episode leading up to her and catra’s heart-to-heart is her being vulnerable, putting herself in a position where she’s in danger but believing it’s worth it. and it is. despite what everyone said to her, perfuma is right: it was worth it. she got through to scorpia, even if it was only for a moment. she literally spells it out to us and catra with one of the best lines in the whole show: it’s hard, keeping your heart open. it makes you vulnerable, but it doesn’t make you weak, and i have to believe it’s worth it.

back in 1x10, perfuma was right: being together makes you vulnerable. horde prime tries to use people’s relationships against them, that’s literally the plot of save the cat, the point of pitting catra and adora against one another. he sees them as weak, just like shadow weaver deems adora’s feelings for catra ‘confusing’, just like light hope insisted adora was a danger to her friends as long as she was around them. they were all wrong. yes, they’re vulnerable. perfuma acknowledges that vulnerability puts you in danger, that it’s difficult to do that, but she knows it doesn’t make you weak. weakness vs strength is a big conflict in 5x10 literally introduced to us with netossa’s theories on everyone’s weaknesses in the first few minutes.

like perfuma says, friendship isn’t a weakness. it’s her greatest strength. her belief in love is literally what saves her and adora’s lives, it’s what saves everyone who got chipped, glimmer, bow. belief in love, both of others and yourself, is what saves adora in her dying moments. perfuma summarises she-ra’s entire fucking message to us repeatedly in 5x10 and she tells it to catra because catra is the one who will do the most with it. that glance at adora, it’s obvious what it means. perfuma is telling catra she should be open with adora about her feelings because you have to believe it’s worth it.

you won’t get anywhere waiting for other people to make the move. she-ra couldn’t heal plumeria’s lands, so plumeria had to fight their own battle alongside her no matter how much they felt unable to. the rebellion couldn’t move mara’s ship, so perfuma had to despite thinking she wasn’t strong enough. the reason they always win in the end is because they have each other, they have love and support and people motivating them to do better. just like perfuma motivates herself to do better.

it’s the mantra. i can do this. i can be vulnerable and still win, because i have love. and it’s hard, it’s so fucking hard to be vulnerable when you’ve feared it all your life and you’re so angry, so hurt, but you have to believe it’s worth it. and it is. it is, it is, it is, love is stronger than anything and being vulnerable for the people you love is the only way you can ever get what you want from them. perfuma as a character embodies that, having learnt it herself, and teaches the lesson to one of the characters who needs it the most.

adora is dying, and catra loves her, and she knows she does, and she just has to believe. adora is dying, and she loves catra, and she knows she does, but she doesn’t believe. not until catra teaches her too, in that moment, to realise they were all wrong, light hope, shadow weaver, horde prime. adora doesn’t need to let go, she needs to hold on and believe she will be pulled back up by the girl she loves. she needs to believe she deserves it. that it’s worth it.

and it is.

The Moon Transit the Signs

My thoughts on the Moon in Astrology through the 12 Zodiac signs. I've mentioned things to be mindful of during the transit, as well as how to work best with the energy.

Moon transiting Aries

When the Moon transits Aries, collectively we feel more confident in ourselves and are more inclined to put ourselves out there in life in the hopes of propelling us forward. The world is viewed with childlike wonder and inner faith is our guiding star. We feel more passionate and encouraged to go after our goals. During this transit, we are more apt to be assertive and say what we feel; sometimes with a directness that lacks tact. You are the creator of your life, and during Aries Moon transits, use the cardinal energy to get things going.

What to be mindful of:

- Impatience

Aries energy is very dynamic, full of energy with a preference to be on the go. Aries wants what it wants, and it wanted it yesterday. During this transit, you will have incredible force behind your actions but might find yourself getting frustrated if things don’t come to fruition as fast as you like. This impatience could veer off into a domineering attitude to those around you. Breathe. Inhale, exhale, repeat. Let things run their natural course.

- Acting selfish

Aries is the baby of the zodiac and concerned with the self. Nothing bad about a lil self-awareness but make sure the actions and decisions you carry out don’t have negative repercussions for those around you. Try to be aware of other people around you. Moon transiting Taurus

As the Moon passes through Taurus, our feelings become more grounded and stable. We’re more conscious of what makes us feel emotionally secure. Collectively, we’re more inclined to see beauty or the lack of it, around us; taking stock of the material things in our life. Taurus energy is all connecting deeply with the self and its comforts. Emotions take on a practical and more steady approach. That being said, there is also danger of uncomfortable emotions being pushed down or past hurts being ruminated over incessantly. Let whatever comes up flow freely through you. During a Taurus Moon transit, make sure to smell the roses and appreciate the simple but essential things you have in your life.

- Indulging too much in the wrong things

The Marvelous

This is protocol: when a player wins, they depart. A new candidate is found, or occasionally, like your delecterious self, presents themselves." Pages lets out a long faux-melancholy sigh. "The rest of us must keep playing, of course. Victory is the only escape."

“When a winner expresses their heart's desire, we – that is the Masters – gather, and turn all our ingenuities and resourcements to its fulfilment. If it is possible, we shall grant it. We have never failed yet. After all, we have moved cities in pursuit of desire. I fear to be immodest, but our capabilities are significant."

The Deck is, at first, very normal. Until, as Pages says, “the unfortunate business of expense, deadly journeys, etcetera, can begin."

"They must be consecrated, naturalously, in the Kingdom of the Is-Not.”

Discuss the venue. Where is the best place to hold the Honour? “"The venue must be somewhere that all the players can agree on.” The answer to everyone's needs is Arbor.

The standard set of Cats, Rats, Bats and Hats. Then there are the trumps: the trinity of face cards which tops each suit: the Jacks, smiling and stern, the Queens, sober and wild, the Kings, magisterial and melancholy. Each face is unique to its suit, a Tiger for a Jack of Cats, a Master for a King of Bats.

First played in the Third City

The cards are a recent convention. It changes with the fashion of the cities.

Seven players, always. Every five or ten years – the date depends on certain astrological conjunctions, written in the roof. 

Rules

Each hand you pay an initial ante (7 coins) and are dealt a hand of cards. You then chose to call (pay the current bet), raise (double the current bet) or fold (lose your current stake, and the hand, but bet no more coins).

Each game is played in a series of hands, during which you stake some of your First City Coins. Hands are compared, with different combinations of cards have different values. At the end of each hand, the winner takes the loser's stake. When one player's coins are gone, they lose the game. In its essence, it is not dissimilar to poker – a fact which the Custodian claims is no coincidence.

Gradually, you learn about the legal combinations of cards. How First Fall beats Second, but both are trumped by the Perfidy of Sisters. About the complex interactions between the Parliament of Rats, the Tragedy Procedure, and the Four Crowns.

On the faintest and most coyly-worded of tablets, you study the forbidden hand: the Thing in the Well, which is mentioned nowhere else, and which loses to all other hands but one.

Then you move on to the esoteric rules that govern as yet undiscovered combinations. The Conspiracies: the matching of key cards to increase their value – or decrease the value of an opponent's hand. You learn to avoid the Treachery of Seven, which renders aces lower than sevens. You struggle to understand the Footsteps of Salt, a rule which has never been interpreted the same way twice.

The Thing in the Well wins only against All Manner of Things.

 If you run out of coins, you can stake something else. If your opponent accepts, you may play one more hand. All or nothing. They call it the Chance.

Mr Pages

Pages fucking HATES the monkey. 

Literally moves into your house, drinks all your wine and calls you a bitch.

Really likes Roquefort Cheese. This is important Lore.

Inquire after Mr Pages' own heart's desire: Normally, it would be unwilling to divulge information of a personal nature. But under the influence of uncanny musics, the Masters sometimes let something slip. 

Mr Pages, in your drawing room, waltzes clumsily to the aerological sympthony. You watch, carefully, as it performs some soaring dance of heavens long since abandoned. Beneath its robes, shapes stir and bulge, as if trying to break through the cloth. Are those wings?

"Home," it says, it's voice slurred, "I want to see the stars again."

Mr Pages' approach is brutally successful, and First City coins teeter in stacks at its elbow. It raises aggressively, pushing rivals into situations where they stake more than they should. Then it folds, leaving others locked in bidding wars they daren't lose. Then, when it has a strong hand, Pages pursues it relentlessly, driving up the pot and turning routs into slaughters. Its victories are infrequent, but Pages only cares about comparative success. All it cares about is staying one coin ahead.

Beats the Monkey but offers him a Chance if he has something to bet. The Monkey bets you. Pages instantly accepts. And loses to the monkey. 

Now hang on a minute— you protest, but Pages raises a talon. "Quiet please! It is inapproprisiderate for the stake to speak. The Chance has been offered and accepted. One more round; all or nothing."

Cards are drawn, discarded, drawn again. The Monkey does not stand on ceremony now; there is no showmanship. It calmly puts down a straightforward Ascension of Cats: the three, four, five, six, seven, eight and nine. Pages stares. It contorts beneath its robes. "I offer a Chance of my own!" it screeches, in panic. The Monkey shakes its head, but Pages persists. "Name a price! A flask of Hesperidean Cider! A vial of my own blood! The very robe from my back!"

The Monkey hesitates. It is obviously tempted. To disrobe a Master, to expose its true nature here, before Londoners... But no. The Monkey keeps its eyes on the prize. It picks its nose, dismissively. Thwarted, Pages emits a strangled noise, and jerks spasmodically to its feet. "Impuderagous!" it squeaks, and hurls its cards across the room before sweeping from the Helmsman.

Publishes a bunch of poems about how much monkeys suck.

Confirmed crime is Truth-Strangling.

The Manager

Ask about the Manager's heart's desire: The Manager offers a hungry phantom of a smile. "Cities are odd beasts, don't you find? One can never tell where one begins."

"My needs are simplicity itself. I want a bright diamond. I will make it my heart and grow from there into something strange and wild. Like my beloved. I will carry the seed of a new city. Perhaps I could be of sandstone and gold. That would look very splendid, don't you think?"

The Manager's style is infuriatingly languid. He considers his hand minutely before every bid. When he raises, he counts his coins with plodding deliberation before committing them. And then, half the time, he reveals he has nothing better than a Remorse of Sisters or a Roser's Retreat! Except, apparently, when someone thinks they have him figured out and calls his bluff, only to walk right into a Peace of Hell or an Black Glass Mirror. The Manager likes to keep his opponents guessing.

Uses Nightmares against his opponents.

You can choose to win one of his Brass Buttons or the Topsy King’s Mind when you beat him. 

A Bright Brass Button: You won it from the Manager of Royal Beth during a game of the Marvellous. It is a key to a secret back door allowing you to leave his hotel. And it is very, very shiny. [Weapon; Watchful +3, Bizarre +2, Glasswork +1]

Your Monkey

The Monkey appears to be asleep, but you are certain it is a ruse. You think it's trying to put the other players off their game. It snores loudly when Virginia is deciding whether to raise. It chatters its teeth as the Bishop rearranges his cards, upsetting his train of thought. And whenever Mr Pages lays down a card, the Monkey noisily breaks wind.

 The Monkey is guilty against Hell and the Chain (only ascension is permitted)

The Monkey used to be Gregory Beechwood, and previously won the Marvelous. His desire had been to become an ape because he believed aps were better than humans. He now regrets it. A lot.

His current Heart’s Desire is to end the Marvelous forever.

Beechwood's argument was that man once existed in a state of grace: its present form a devolution. That pristine state was to be found in the form of the ape. One of the players of the Marvellous just so happens to be a monkey – your Monkey, to be precise.

The Monkey gives you a wink, then darts a glance at Pages' now useless mountain of remaining coins. Was that the play? To tempt Pages into giving up his stake advantage? To even the odds by risking everything on a single hand? With you as the prize? Well, it could have bl__dy asked!

Wins against Pages, but not before hesitating when Pages offers its own robes for a Chance of its own. 

Your final opponent is your own monkey.

Virginia

She is very, very mad at you.

Ask about Virginia's own heart's desire: An old desire, renewed. Virginia gives you the thinnest smile you have ever seen. "Sanctuary," she says, in a voice as soft as bare feet on snow. She looks away, indicating the end of the discussion.

Virginia sets a strategy early and holds to it come hell or high water. She trusts to the deck, discarding reliable cards in the hope of a high-scoring combination. But the cards aren't her friend tonight. The best she can manage is a Brace of Hats, then a String of Rats. But every now and again, it pays off. When it looks like she's within inches of constructing a Great Chain, Mr Pages folds hurriedly. A few rounds later a six-card Mirrorcatch wins back her losses. If her fortunes change, her approach might bear fruit.

Loses to your Monkey. 

Kills you so you can meet the Boatman. Is like really excited to do it. "I've been waiting for this...." Virginia arrives at your lodgings promptly. She passes a cursory glance over the instruments of death you've neatly laid out for her (to furnish your own demise.) "Thank you, my dear," she says, "But I shan't be needing those." She advances on you, wearing her sharpest smile. Mercifully, you do not remember the rest.

The Bishop

Ask about the Bishop's own heart's desire: The Bishop smiles, though he is no longer looking at you, instead off into some middle distance. "South," he says at last, his voice low as though thickened with honeyed wine. "To be forgiven. To be welcomed. To end all these darkened days of wandering. To taste sweet fruit upon my tongue and walk in pastures gold. I would lie down upon that splendid glade like cloth of emerald and feel my cares mist away, like dew on a cold morning. And I would not walk there alone. I would open the gates, and lay a path so that others could follow, those who knew the signs." Thin tears streak his face.

The Bishop's style is cautious. He prefers reliable hands, and rarely raises. He watches his pile of coins hawkishly, as though they might abandon the table of their own volition. Still, after a few rounds you think you have discerned a pattern: every three or four rounds he finds his courage, and plays to the end regardless of his hand.

Loses to you or the Manager depending on how you faired in the Honor.

Topsy King

Doesn’t seem to remember why he plays. Staked his mind against the Manager to stay in the game and lost. The Manager now keeps his mind.

He favours esoteric combinations and rare exceptions. He invokes the Treachery of Sevens, the Heart-Catcher's Promise, and the Embarrassment of Swans. He constructs elaborate Conspiracies from low-numbered cards, and disposes of kings and queens like a guillotine. He is having a good night, winning a steady trickle of coins from the other players. But his weak point is the Manager, who always seems to know what the Topsy King is holding.

Loses to you or the Manager depending on how you faired in the Honor.

You have won back the Topsy King's mind. You should return it to him. Even if it is sometimes a lizard.

You restored it to him. He will never be as he was, but nor is he entirely what he became. Some of the time he is the Topsy King; sometimes he is Tristram

The Calendar Council is composed of twelve members: each opposes the purview of one of the Masters.

"October achieved her goal and vacated the Council. But she remains one of twelve – a successor has not been chosen. She must mean to, however, so we must assume she is somewhere that the Masters cannot reach but the Council can. Which suggests – ah. Yesterday's Clerestory."

"I asked for my dreams to come true, and the Masters arranged certain accommodations with the powers of the Is-Not."

"The Masters didn't know who I really was, of course. I spent years constructing a false identity in order to join the Marvellous. Virginia saw through it, but did not expose me. Not that I'd have let her." October smiles bright as a falling star. "Afterwards, I used my reward to cast one of the Masters in a prison of its own failures." October sighs wistfully, "I understand that most of them have had second thoughts about the game since then."

The Boatman

A previous Winner

At last, he answers in his creaking voice. "A replacement. I grow weary." His voice echoes in the hollowness of his skull. "My desire was granted, but difficult to arrange. An appropriate substitute did not exist; therefore one had to be born." The Boatman punts the craft further into the centre of the river.

"They should be of age now. And yet." The Boatman's gaze is briefly reflected in the water, dark empty sockets lost in the darkness. "Perhaps there has been a complication." His voice cracks, a splinter of melancholic menace.

His Amused Lordship

A previous Winner.

His Lordship tells you of his heart's desire. "Damn fool game. I only played to rescue a damn fool friend. Well, friend undersells it rather a lot. She wouldn't be pleased to hear me describe her so. They have such terrible foul language on Mutton Island." His Lordship smiles wistfully. "She was on a dark path, a seeker of that which shouldn't be sought. I played the game to win her back."

Won and freed Mrs Plenty from Seeking.

Mr Hearts

Created the Marvelous in the Third City because the Masters were bored. Lord of Blood in the Third City

Flies you to the top of the tower!!

Final Match

Takes place deep in the Bazaar. Literally in the Bazaar’s heart. 

The Masters all gather and hang from the ceiling to watch. 

Visions of different outcomes assault both of you with the beat of the heart.

Visions of Power: You feel the slow stretching in your bones. Your organs, persistently rearranging themselves into superior configurations. You cast off your robes to stretch your new arched wings, wide enough to break the sky.

The Bazaar opens all of its seven doors to you: the other Masters welcome you to a spire of your own. In the innermost chambers, you let fall your robe and allow your magnificent wings to spread—

Visions of Love: Adoring eyes locked with yours. The heat of a fierce embrace, beating heart to beating heart. Two lives, completed by each other. A love that inspires and consumes.

You play with a poet's ardour and mastery of form. The cards want you to win; they adore you. A rare Adoration of Days; a timely Anchorite of Norwich. Your opponent, meanwhile, is struck by these visions more powerfully than those of yesterday. Tears glisten on his hairy cheeks. His paws shake. He still plays a string of lucky, desperate hands, but you're able to win back some of your coins before the day is through.

Visions of Time: You see yourself defying time (the greatest of thieves), and living hale and healthy into a new age of the world. An endless future, to make of which what you want. And not just time for you, but for others, too. The theft of the sixth city deferred. London's lifespan is prolonged, gleaming like the Neath's darkest jewel.

The heart shows you a New Empire, its dawn-ships conquering territories across the zee. It shows you the Sixth City – a colony of the Fifth – suspended in chains from the Neath's ceiling. You see yourself, centuries hence, on a throne of roses in the Eighth City after the Treachery of Arbor; and then you leading the leagues of Hell against the Ninth— In each vision, you dedicate a handful of years to planning your next move in the Marvellous.

Visions of Escape:  Escape from London, escape from the Neath. You see the glow of a rising sun across the length of a horizon; feel the playful touch of wind in your hair; smell the scent of fresh-fallen snow, sharp and crisp; hear the relentless chatter of birds, clear in a blue sky.

You lose, but invoke your Chance, staking something. Either your profession, your destiny or a single penny. (if you don't have a penny you can borrow one from Hearts.) 

You win, then. But Beechwood, your monkey, wishes to stake his own Chance.

Accept his Chance: He stakes all that is left of himself. The remainder of his humanity. And then places a losing hand on purpose. He turns feral and runs off, unable to deal with being trapped in the game as a monkey any longer. 

Decline his Chance: Beechwood has drawn away. You can see him wringing his paws together, compulsively. His eyes are haunted. He knows that – in a few years' time, when the false-stars align – he must play the Marvellous again.

Your Desire

Mr Hearts speech: "Colleagues, we are gathered (save for Mr Pages, who is excluded for reasons of a conflict of interest) to fulfil our sacred duty. This creature–" here, it gestures at you, "–has proven victorious in the Marvellous and earned their heart's desire!"

There is polite, scattered applause.

You take the time to look around. The walls are adorned with calendars – some of them follow earthly dating systems, others do not – and maps. The workbenches are covered with indecipherable apparatus. A set of heavy red books stands on a shelf. You can make out the black-lettered title of the nearest: 'The Tragedy Procedures Vol. VII.'

"Here," Mr Hearts tells you, "is where we perform our greatest works. This is where we ascertained how to purchase London, and how to accomplish the small request Her Majesty required in exchange. Thus far, no request has been beyond us. Now, if you would do us the honour, tell us your heart's desire. We shall do all in our power to grant it."

Power: You want to be one of them, a Master of the Bazaar – terrible, glorious, magnificent.

Another argument follows, this one not about whether but about how. There is some debate as to your bailiwick and whether this can be a purely titular bestowal. It cannot. Spices and Hearts begin to mix steaming concoctions at one of the workbenches. Mr Veils measures you for a robe.

In the end, Hearts approaches you. "It is decided. You will be Mr Cards." 

Love: There is a long silence. "The problem, oh perspicacious, indeed brilliant, victor of our game," Spices says in its sibilant whisper, "is that despite our very best efforts – and I do not wish to disparage our dear Mr Fires in saying this – we cannot manufacture love." Fires only grunts.

"Does it have to be true love?" Wines interjects, thoughtfully. "There are approximations that, as far as we can tell, are indistinguishable in all meaningful ways—"

"We are not all convinced," Hearts cuts in, "That true love even exists. Certainly, we have yet to isolate it. But! Happily, we can offer something better: adoration. Celebration! The whole city, united in recognition of your evident magnificence. Fame, and of course, glory."

Choose something else. Choose something that is not love.

The Masters have no idea what love really is.

Adoration: To be known by all. To be admired. To be worshipped! In every mind of the city will live a shining image of you, perfect, pristine, and permanent. A collective sigh of relief from the Masters. Adulation, adoration, envy – all these can be readily manufactured.

Time: Long life – not just for you, but London, too. Eventually, the Masters will require a Sixth City. But London is your home, and you would want to defer that day as long as possible.

Venus is what we are attracted to.  So with his Venus in Aquarius we know he tends to like people who are unconvententional or unique for some reason. 

Your race, your hair, your style ect… chances are it’s very different from the societal norm he’s used to.

Why I think he is a Gemini rising

Gemini Rising individuals are very witty, sociable and have a quirky sense of humor. Gemini is known to be the most sociable and talkative of all signs within astrology, which we can tell just by the very friendly vibe he gives when we see him. They are born with curious nature, often seeking knowledge just to feed their interest. However, these individuals are not the most emotional and seem more detached from others’ feelings. But thanks to the water in his chart, he is actually a little bit more sympathetic and receptive compared to others with Gemini risings that are fire or air dominant.

These people are also very adaptable and love to learn new things. Communication is their primal source of being able to learn new things from other people, even becoming popular in a sense at one point. They may even talk to themselves very often! However these learnings can come with a price; they will tend to get very bored easily and move from one talent to another, able to learn many things and yet unfortunately not master any of them. Why I think he is a Cancer rising

People born under the rising sign of Cancer are gentle, kind-natured and nurturing. They have strong intuitive thoughts, often sensitive to those surrounding them. There is a sense of childlike quality in them that can be mirrored through their eyes, as they are ruled by the moon, they can be the most expressive asset they have physically. They are attracted to change, especially for the betterment, and are good speakers especially with very prominent aspects with their Mercury to other planets. However, a trait that is commonly unseen within Cancer risings are that they tend to be energetic and lively, especially if paired with an air or fire sun sign.

One of the few members I had a hard time trying to figure out on their rising sign. I ended up choosing two different signs.

Why I think he is either rising signs

The typical Capricorn rising is deemed as serious, work-oriented and even-minded. However these individuals are also materialistic in a way, even though Taurus is told as the most materialistic when Capricorns are actually a step ahead. That’s the thing—Capricorn risings want to be a step ahead out of everyone. Their headstrong attitude and strong mind makes them very well-respected.

However behind all those seriousness, Capricorn risings are very thoughtful and considerate. If paired with a fire or air sun, they can even be less serious than most people who share the same risings. They’re usually quiet and ambitious, commonly deemed as the rising sign that has a very visible appearance of having the “resting bitch face” (RBF). They always mean well, however they are not the most gullible—they know what they exactly want, how they want it, when they want it. They could even reach the stars if they could! Because of their appearance as being cold and unemotional, they may tend to look very “restricted”, hence Capricorn is ruled by the planet of Saturn-- the planet of restriction. They do try to keep a very kind-natured aura as they are at home with the environment they are in.

Now, for Libra rising, are much known for wanting to bring everything into “balance”, even if they have to work for it to happen. They naturally have a kind appearance and also because it is an air sign, they are one of the more sociable signs. This is more evident if paired with a fire sun sign. They have a pleasant and agreeable aura which gains them natural attraction by those around them. Libra risings are also one of the most attractive signs because of their natural magnetism. A love of beauty, these individuals also tend to take care of themselves a lot, especially with their appearance.

Steadfast and courageous, they also are generous and giving just like Capricorn risings. However Libra risings may tend to be a bit susceptible and hate disorganization. They’re also very romantic and passionate, attracted to beauty in all forms whether it’s art or even music. They even value cleanliness as much as Virgo risings, maybe even more! Their expressions vary from kind to serious when in the spotlight, and like fire risings, they crave the spotlight and grab it with any chance they get. However they despise people who are boastful. Why I think he is a Libra rising

I have explained a lot on Minhyun’s bit, but I will add a bit more since there are some characteristics I have noticed from Seongwoo as well.

We can see that he is one of the more comedic and friendly members, always looking out for other people. Also from what we have noticed, he is very naturally attractive! However when we see him, he shows a rather gentle and kind aura that makes him magnetic, his facial features even show this more. His chart is full of earth, where we usually see someone who is on the “earthy” side very serious. However our rising signs show how we present ourselves to the world and how others see us, even more than our sun sign.

Seongwoo is very known to be sociable and has had an active lifestyle, active as in very committing to the industry type of active. Unfortunately, Libra risings are also known to have middle leveled to weak stamina, which we’ve already heard from the other members. But with comes to his weakness, he’s also quite the charmer and he knows how to show off his talents. I, at first, guessed he had a fire rising. However, I’ve noticed he’s calmer than fire risings (not saying fire risings are wild or anything, just that he seems more… idk calm? At least in public LOL) because I’ve seen that thanks to his earth placements.

He also has a Leo moon, which shows he may seem to love to be on the spotlight more than we know—and if paired with a rising like Libra, he’s definitely a very magnetic persona in the public and on stage. Our eyes always seem to fall to him even at one point during performances.

Keith looked out his window, bored. It was another Saturday afternoon and, with nothing to do and his brother out on a job, he was actually considering making new friends. Then, thankfully before he could entertain the thought for long, he heard a familiar humming. Keith perked up as the fluffy haired boy came into view of the window. Now, Keith would attest that he did NOT look forward to this boy’s occasion visits, and would also (lie) say that he was most definitely NOT checking the other man out. I mean, with those looks? He had to be straight and Keith refuses to play with a straight boy after Jonny broke his heart. Sure they were in third grade at the time, but man could Keith hold a grudge.

Keith, like usually, looked out his window and stared at the other boy’s *ahem* assets as they bent down and picked another flower from his garden. And just like that, an idea popped into Keith’s head. It may have not been the best one, but hey, it was an idea and those were rare enough. So he strolled out side and tapped the boy on his shoulder, the one he had been pining after for weeks without even knowing is name, the one his brother had teased him about for ages.

And the boy, in response, turned slowly. Keith had a smug grin on his face as the look of guilt at being caught grew on the others face. A single blue forget-me-not was held gently in the flower thefts hands.

“Now tell me, why have you been taking my flowers?,” Keith said teasingly. The boy’s eyes just widened and he sputtered in response.

“Well then, if you won’t tell me who she is I’m coming with you to see if the girls actually pretty enough to warrant flower theft once a week,” Keith said with a grin on his face, even though he was inwardly wilting at the idea that this boy already had a girlfriend. The blue eyed boys -god those blue eyes were hypnotic- face turned from guilt to confusion as he stared into the much darker eyes of the other.

“What?,” said the skinny jean clad boy with the best ass Keith had ever seen. There was no way this pretty boy wasn’t taken, or else everyone in this word was blind.

“I’m coming with you. I need to see who’s getting my forget-me-nots every morning.”

But the look of confusion on the boy’s face only grew more. “A girl?,” he asked stupidly. Lance did not know who this boy was or why they were talking to him.

“Anyways, what’s your name? We have quite a walk ahead,” Keith said and then mentally smacked himself. He sounded like a fucking stalker. He wouldn’t be surprised if his crush bolted right there and then. And right there and then Keith would swear the gods descended onto heaven for the smile the other boy shot him.

“Lance, pleased to meet you! Sorry but I’m not actually-,” but before Lance could finish his sentence a car pulled into the driveway. A pure white with black highlights car to be exact, one that had Shirogane in bold stylized lettering. His brother was always one for dramatics.

“Hey bro! Oh, who’s this? Has my little antisocial Keith finally met a friend?,” Shiro said, fully aware that he was embarrassing his brother half to death. Keith blushed and whipped his head around to the boy in front of him, Lance.

“Let’s go!,” he said a little to enthusiastically as he dragged Lance by the wrist. He could hear Shiro calling after him but he refused to listen. You’ve stopped me from getting a hot date for the last time he thought to himself.

But the blue eyed Lance smiled and laughed in response, his eyes filling out with a warm kind of love. “Yeah, she’s pretty special. She was strong too. A gymnast actually, she taught me some moves,” he said, fondness and emotions Keith couldn’t quite place growing in his eyes.

O O F, he was falling hard and fast. Fuck! He already had a girl! Hey brain, could you, I don’t know, may sTOP?! He thought to himself. And then he realized the boy next to him was using past tense. Maybe he thought hopefully maybe they fell out and I still have a chance? All he said aloud though was “Tell me more about her!,” he asked, hoping to bring forward all the bad things.

“She was graceful and yet gentle. She was the one who first got me started in astronomy actually. Everyone back in Cuba used to say that I would be a swimmer, but ever since she took me out to the Sea at night I’ve fallen in love. What about you? Do you love the stars?,” Lance asked innocently. Keith was caught off guard because he had been staring at those deep blue eyes, totally enraptured.

“Who, me?,” he said a little too loudly as he chuckled nervously. Thankfully Lance must not have noticed the little slip up since all the brown haired boy did was giggle. “Yes you silly! Who else is here?,” Lance said in a cute voice that Keith cOULD NOT HANDLE BECAUSE FUCK HE WAS SO GAY.

But all he ended up saying was “Yup, I love the stars! I’m actually studying them for school soon after summer ends!,” he said, fidgeting with the small handheld knife in his pocket.

Lance spoke up again enthusiastically “Oh cool! Maybe we’ll be in the same class!”

“Yeah, maybe” Keith forlornly responded. “Anyway, tell me more about yourself.” And now he sounded like a fucking stalker. Great. Thankfully Lance didnt take it that way.

“Well, I lived in Cuba... umm, I met Hunk in high school where we eventually figured out we both got into Galaxy Highs Garrison program,” Keith cut Lance off

“Hey, I was kicked outta that program for taking Iversons eye out!”

“That was you?!? Man you’re a living legend! Iverson was a stiff ass though. Anyway I met Pidge when we were in the same star group test to get our second stripe.”

“The star grouping tests fucking sucked, I was lucky to get partnered will Marry.”

“Who’s - ohh right Marry. She was cute, I guess...”

Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh no. That’s all Keith thought as he stared up at the curved letters on the hand painted sign Garrison Cemetery: Your Loved Ones May Rest. Why did I push him? Why did I do this? He thought as he frowned. He screwed up again. All the pieces were starting to come together as he stared at Lance. Lances face held no resentment however.

“They really were an amazing family. My sisters the only one buried close to me, but its nice leaving forget-me-nots by her body. They were her favorite.” Lance said, a forlorn smile covering his face, blue eyes that Keith loved so much cast downward. Keith walked with Lance, not saying a word. He could at least offer some support.

“Thanks, if you want we can grab some coffee and talk more?” Lance said. The blue blossoms on the grave marked Rest In Piece Veronica Mclain, she was a wonderful daughter, sister, and woman were left behind as the couple exited the cemetery.

“I’d love that,” Keith responded, a warm feeling climbing into his gut. He felt at piece, like those blue eyes could fix everything.

how do you make poses for the roof? i'm not sure how i can know if the sims will clip into the roof or float

honestly i just...eyeball it...because all roofs are different and you can’t put them into blender so. i just winged it lmao...i just made a pose that looked like it could’ve been lou climbing out the window, only the rig was still ground level, and then i used alt + 9 to lift the teleporter onto the roof as best as i could. that’s why it probably wouldn’t be a very practical pose to release, because i have no way of making it easy to use

i set into this retrograde/eclipse season with the intent to get shit done surrounding healing traumas i’d been burying, and it felt as soon as my spells were cast and this journey initiated, i felt almost lost to space and time, hovering within and above and beyond myself...a feeling not uncomfortable but not comfortable either, beyond the duality of what is comfort and what is not...driven by synchronicities and symbolism

my subconscious had been firing for weeks, processing, alchemizing trauma into different energy, creatively engaging triggers at face value...

last night, i huddled over my journal hours trying to get this sigil exactly as i wanted it, but after half an hour of wasting paper, i finally set it all back and left it for a bit...

then i realized how much i’d done for myself, dragging myself out of trauma after trauma, training in psychology, engaging my intuition, using numerology, tarot, astrology, and witchcraft to grow was some of the best creating i’d ever done. i spent a bit being bitter over wasting time in school when i could have learned a lot without it, but i think i failed to realize i used school to treat and heal myself, and that’s more modeling than any sculpture i could have molded of clay.

i realized how much, just in the past month, i’d processed using astrology and psychological practice for myself, and realized how important the word wake really was in considering the alchemizing of energy i’ve been doing throughout my healing process as healing certain triggers awakened others buried farther down.

numerology has been a key factor in connecting back to my guides that were stripped from me by a bullshit religion, so i looked at the 4 letters of wake and considered the twelve houses in astrology, and how all of these things had contributed to my awakening, so i decided on a sigil around a circle, 12 letters, the word wake 3 times, all powerful symbolism.

4, a number of protection/foundation.

12, a number of completion/divinity.

3, integration of mind/body/spirit.

i realized the point, and suddenly, the sigil came together...

i realized how much of the point was in the process...

of defining what i wanted and needed and awakening the information i needed to do that...

i began a poem a few months ago with “wake wake wake

and so much of healing is about losing old versions of yourself, so it feels like a lot of dying and resurrection, but also a lot of mourning...

it’s said it’s hardest to move beyond trauma because you don’t know any familiarity other than that, because that frequency is so normal to be on that it’s uncomfortable to be otherwise, and there’s a lot of me i’ve been mourning, but like, i also fucking love the act of becoming and falling in love with me.

balance has been an important part of my process, accepting and integrating the *divine feminine and masculine inside of me that were at war with each other, and as soon as this sigil came together, i pulled the 9 of Cups, King of Wands, and 10 of Cups when asking for affirmation that i was on the right path.

The 9 of Cups is symbolic of fulfillment/contentment and good karma due to a grateful and giving heart. The King of Wands initiates confidence and inspiration and also shows expansion due to maturity and regulation, being driven to action and adventure. The 10 of Cups is also about balance/harmony and being blessed due to maturity and emotional interconnection to source and everyone else.

The number 9 is about integration, while 10 (my last/future card) is about completion. All cards are from the minor arcana, indicating being part of the small-scale, process of life. The King of Wands is associated with action, passion, fire, and masculine energy, whereas the 10 of Cups is associated with emotion, intuition/spirituality, water, and feminine energy. (This deck also always ends up drawing the Emperor and Empress cards back together in the most phenomenal way, and they fell out when i was doing this reading too). So much of this integration, for me, has been about stepping back as well as out of my comfort zone and shutting the fuck up/hearing others, learning every bit of information possible to make something whole and not halfhearted.

A few months ago, at work, someone anonymously wrote about me that when they thought of me, they thought of adventure, and it’s one of the most beautiful ways I’ve ever thought of myself. The King of Wands being my present card really speaks to that. I’m adventure and god and love and masculine and feminine all at once, and it’s been and will be a process/journey, but the universe even has my back on me being that bitch; my deck’s like, you got this 🖤🙏🏼

   Depressing shit lays ahead- you’ve been warned.

 So lately, I’ve been really busy but mostly depressed. I’ve never struggled with this until now- I don’t have a history of depression, but the tragic events of a year and a half ago when I lost my son still weigh heavily on both joel and I. I think he handles things differently, but I cry about it alot and it’s made me more sensitive to any kind of triggers like his birthday or mother’s day or people talking about their new babies or friends getting pregnant or even the kind of coupons I get at the store- which for a while baby coupons were all I got because social media sells your personal information when you have a life event, but never a loss.            That’s something I never thought I’d have to deal with. I don’t have a therapist or a psychologist or anyone to really talk to about these kind of things, and when I brought it up to my doctor he suggested a religious organization which doesn't help me. 

Another thing no one told me about pregnancy is that you literally destroy your body and there is no going back. I took so long to heal that you’d think I was hit by a train, I’ll never not pee when I sneeze, I’ll never lose these stripes (stretch marks) that are a badge for most women but just a reminder for me of the hurt. And the weight I gained feels so impossible to lose no matter how much I run and try to eat moderately and nutritiously. I get so angry when I look in a mirror- I’m so filled with self hatred and disgust I want to cover up my entire body and hide forever. I think it took 5 years out of my life. I used to get so stressed out after the event, that I would curl up anywhere and just scream for a while. My parents did not understand what my problem was or why I was so angry all the time. It was impossible for me to communicate to them so many times joel had to step in and supply the context- that it takes a very long time to recover from loss. It comes in waves. You feel okay for a while but then it hits and you become overwhelmed and irritable. I couldn’t step foot into the old place I worked while I was pregnant for over a year. It’s still hard to do, but sometimes it’s necessary because I need to shop there. People ask “ooh where’s the little guy?” or a multitude of equivalent questions that are impossible to answer without ruining both our days. 

 My partner is practically asexual at this point, I think he’s been traumatized by the experience and the many close calls. He really doesn’t like me talking about him though, he’s a very private person unlike me. I wanted to make a comic about the whole thing, but decided against it for various reasons, such as crying the entire time. I literally almost died at one point, and I very easily could have. I was at 42 weeks and he was almost 10 lbs (4.5 kg) so he really messed me up and I hemorrhaged. The “uterine massage” was the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. I wished Id have listened to Robin and guzzled castor oil like a fucking warrior when I knew I was ready, instead of waiting like a bitch. 

     We are just so buried in school debt and now we have this awful $6K hospital bill for their own negligence and they want me to pay them?? But If I don’t pay them it will hurt my credit. I am pursuing litigation but ffs it just takes sooo long its literally been over a year and I’m still waiting for things to happen. 

   I want to try again soon, like in a year maybe but I don’t know how long we’re going to have to keep living with my parents and I’m honestly just terrified because I’m going to university and trying to get things together but sometimes things go horribly awry and big plans can completely fall through. The thought of us getting out of here and living on our own is a pipedream. Why try to do anything anymore. As everyone gets over this and forgets, joel and I never will. I wish I’d known there was a history of loss in my dads family. I wish I’d have stayed at the hospital that superbowl sunday when the nurses told me to go home and that I was fine, and that I didn’t need to see a doctor. Blood clots are normal, they said. Just wait until your appointment tomorrow they said. These memories and experiences will probably haunt me forever, it’s all so crystal clear in my head how it went down. People are wicked and lazy and I don’t think I’ll ever think about the odds ever again. I long for the days I lived at the apartment in the city. 

So anyway, I’m still struggling, but I’m better at coping so that’s fine I guess. I’ve been holding alot of this in for over a year- that’s prolly a taurus thing right? jk idgaf about astrology. I’m so sick of the looks I get when I talk about this, but if I don’t talk about it, I don’t know what I’d do. What’s important is that I let it out and I can stop holding my breath and I hope this doesn’t bite me in the ass. I’m dead inside and I’ve had a dead body inside me, but things are getting better. I hate the sound of people chewing and sniffing all their snot in, instead of blowing it out like a sensible person ????? I love the sound of rain and thunder storms, I also love the sound of violins and wire string guitars.

One of the worst places I’ve been was probably the wake of my baby niece when I was real small. I can’t remember anything else.

Idk about meaning, I don’t know if life has a meaning. I do think everyone has a purpose though.

I don’t drive yet. Too lazy to get my permit lol as well as the fact that where I live you have to log 100 hours behind the wheel with an adult present in order to get your license unless you’re 18, I am not.

I tore my ACL (a ligament at the back of the knee) a year ago.

I hold grudges for a while, but after so long it gets tiring and pointless. However, if one does not seek forgiveness before I get tired of holding a grudge, they will be cut out of my life. I don’t need that negativity just because you’re too full of yourself to apologize for whatever you did.

I am very good at reading people, so I lay low for a while and watch. Once I get a good feel for someone I can adjust my personality to fit theirs. It’s why I get along with so many different kinds of people.

I have a few. One of them is an entire state away. One of them lives 5 minutes from me, the other two live about 20-25 minutes from me. At this moment, I don’t know specifically where any of them are.

Sleeping

Yeah, sometimes.

Save the dog. I’ll explain it to my boss and if they fire me I can find a new job. I can always find a new job, but that one life is the only one the dog will get. Also, I’m just a big softy.

(a) I don’t think I would tell anyone, at least not immediately. I wouldn’t want to be treated like I’m dying during my last days. I suppose I could tell a few very close people though, I just don’t want to be smothered.

(b) I would drop all the unnecessary responsibilities I have and start doing things that I want to do, but subtly. Still don’t want to be treated like I’m dying.

© I don’t know if I would be afraid. I like to think I wouldn’t, I might just be more sad than afraid. Sad to think about my friends and family having to live without me, sad I won’t get to do half the things I always dreamed of doing.

44) In your opinion, what makes a great relationship?

A great romantic relationship should consist of communication, understanding, and honesty. Boundaries should be respected, you should always admit when you are wrong and never leave the house or go to sleep mad at each other. The mindset should be best friends before lovers. You should always want what is best for your partner, but always remember to care for yourself too.

It’s pretty easy. If you can make me laugh, but also take part in a deep, soul-searching conversation we’re practically married.

The single best decision I’ve made in my life so far was learning to take care of me first.

Oh god, okay well a lot of the time I would be afraid to tell the truth when people ask me if I’m okay. lol but don’t go asking me if I’m okay or anything after you read this cause that’s not cool.

Oh, hell yeah, I would totally want super strength or laser eyes.

55) You can re-live any point of time in your life. The time-span can only be a half-hour, though. What half-hour of your past would you like to experience again?

I think I would relive the half-hour chunk of time from my 5th birthday party when me and my best friend at the time were outside in the cold November fog riding a miniature pony. There were other kids there, but only her and I were excited about it and I would honestly give anything to go back a relive that innocent bliss.

56) You can erase any horrible experience from your past. What will it be?

I think I would erase having to lose my horse just March of this year.

I would probably sleep with Demi Lovato or Sabrina Carpenter. This is kind of a hard question because usually I only know singers for their music, not their looks or anything.

Obviously, I’d go to see my soulmate. Although, I would have to be strategic about this. I think i would drive to go get her and then buy her ticket (bc mine’s free) and we’d go see mom. ( @assbutt-still-in-hell )
