Here is my finished list!!!

I'm gonna talk about each tier/entry individually just to go over why I like/love them (also our favs are gonna be diff and if yours aren't on here don't bust a nut or anything)

Constantly Rotating in My Mind:

so this tier is for my absolute favourites, they've pretty much become part of me at this point and I think about them non-stop, starting with;

Bleach (Anime + Manga)

So, where the fuck do I even begin with this one lmfao, Bleach is honestly my top favourite piece of media, ever, to me. everything about this just clicked with me, from the art style to the fights, the music but those aren't what made Bleach my favourite, sure they helped but it wasn't what sold me. What sold me was the characters, from the protagonist Ichigo, to the supporting characters and villains It's the characters in Bleach that always just stood out for me the most and made me love the series, especially their arcs! with Byakuya's probably having my favourite arc, besides Ichigo (but tbh I'm biased with him since he's my fav character) They all just have such believable motivations, goals and relationships. (also quick side note but I'm sick of the Orihime slander y'all better put some respect on her name, just because she got with Ichigo over Rukia and also just because of the anime's adaptation of her.)

Trigun ('98 Anime)

Trigun is honestly a recent addition to the list! I only actually watched it in January this year! But it quickly made list because I found it to be so compelling, it's got it's comedic moments for sure with Vash, Meryl and Millie but its also got such tragedy and sadness in it with not only Vash and Knives relationship (which isn't as explored in '98 as Maximum and Stampede, although you could say that about alot of '98's adaptation) but also with Vash's struggle when he eventually ends up taking a persons life, his relationship with this parental figure, Rem and his best(boy)friend Wolfwood. To the setting! it all just spoke to me and It's quickly ended up becoming my second favourite!

Jujutsu Kaisen (Anime + Manga)

If I had to describe the JJK manga in just one sentence It'd probably be along the lines of "It's so over, we're so back, its over) It's got a lot of peaks and valleys, and I don't mean that in a negative way of it being bad, but in it's triumphant moments and then being cast back down into despair (recent chapters being an example lol) But like Bleach, what I find really compelling about JJK is it's characters! It also has some of the best written characters in an anime, especially its villains! I really like the writing behind them, especially Suguru Geto's corruption into a villain! But also just how messed up the Jujutsu sorcery world and how insane you actually have to be a part of it.

Hellsing (Anime + Manga)

I'll keep this one short, Its Vampire Nazi's vs Dracula, with some badass female characters and music, also its gory as shit 10/10.

My Love Mix-up! (Manga)

This is the first BL manga that I've actually ever read! As someone who has grown up with just a general lack of LGBTQ characters and romance in their media, to find that their is an entire genre of manga for it was really eye-opening! I ended up becoming really invested in the "will they wont they" kind of relationship going on between the 2 MC's for the first few volumes, especially Kōsuke Ida, him navigating that, first of all what does it mean to "like" someone when you've never romantically interested in someone before, but then when that person is same sex. spoke to my own personal experiences growing up. It's what made me like the manga so much, also it's comedic moments! It's actually a very funny manga, especially the side couple.

Full Metal Alchemist (Anime + Manga)

FMA has one of the best stories I've ever seen in an anime/manga, the way it's so inter-connected and all the threads of plot/characters are so weaved together are! so! good! The characters and their arc's! Scar being a prime example of this! (I'm really struggling to articulate why I love this show so much lmao, look I really just love it do I have to justify everything??)

Blue Flag (Manga)

This is a LGBTQ+ story, that I'd actually recommend you just go and read it for yourself! I don't really wanna spoil anything, and if I talk about this manga I will!! just go read it now!!!!! (side note I can't believe the series got cancelled??!!!! like???!!! because of that we really got to miss out on a relationship between 2 characters!!!! and even though they get married at the end!!!!! It's still kinda vague!!!!!)

Chainsawman (Anime + Manga)

Again, one of the thing's that made me absolutely love Chainsawman is the characters, but most of all it's their motivations, and how "human" they are. and by that I mean just so, normal. Which is a weird thing to say, but when the norm for Shonen MC's is that they wanna fight and kill god, having one whose main goal is 1, Touch Boobs, get a girlfriend and have sex, it's really refreshing. It just paint's what a "normal" kid that Denji and the juxtaposition that is towards Aki, whose goal is to kill the Gun Devil. That kind of character writing is a what really drew me into the manga and made me love it. (ALSO I'm vastly oversimplifying thing's bc I don't really wanna spoil so that's just the gist of it) Also like the Found Family of Denji, Aki and Power. But I'm just a sucker for that trope!

I Think Our Son Is Gay (Manga)

This is some REALLY good positive LGBTQ representation, not just from the "MC" of the story Hiroki and him navigating being LGBTQ but from his mother's perspective as she tries be supportive/encouraging of him but also learning about what it means to be LGBTQ and what they face/go through. It's really heart-warming and sweet! I do want to throttle the dad sometimes though, I get that he's (supposed) to be learning and challenging his own bias' but if he upsets Hiroki again he will be catching these hands.

Our Dreams at Dusk (Manga)

Another LGBTQ+ story that I would highly recommend that you just go and read for yourself, It's in my opinion very powerful in it's depictions of the different LGBTQ identities covered in the story, and the struggles they face at the ages that they do! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this one (I believe the author is putting a new series out soon but I need to check up on that)

Castlevania (Anime)

This. Fucking. Series. It's got some absolutely amazing art and animation work on it, that just gets better and better with each subsequent season! Just like the characters! Not only are they just amazingly written with such depth, but their arc's and development are just some of the best in fiction.

Golden Kamuy (Anime + Manga)

Honestly, this is probably the Gayest Anime i've ever watched, without it actually being gay. But also it's probably the funniest anime I've ever watched, I've never laughed as much at something as I have watching this. It's also got a great story with a great kinda Sibling relationship between Sugimoto and Asirpa, and poor Tanigaki, literally the bara comedy relief of the show (Also I believe the author compared the characters dick sizes at one point? its crazy, in a good way.) I'd highly recommend!

Soul Eater (Anime)

Such a unique premise, Death himself runs a school that teaches people, regular school stuff, but also how to fight. Also some of the students can turn into weapons that the other students wield. And the moon has a face. So naturally its very good (also in a roundabout way its the sequel to Fire Force) HOWEVER The manga wasn't done when the series so I'm petitioning for a Soul Eater: Brotherhood so we get the full story!

Mob Psycho 100 (Anime + Manga)

One of my favourite aspects of this show is how it shows that nobody is too far gone, that nobody is beyond redemption and growth as person. It's a message I think a lot of people really need to hear, You can just decide to be a better person and leave the past behind you, while still learning from it. And all it takes is a Middle Schooler beating the shit out of you and calling you lame. (Also WaWa, I'm constantly rotating him in my mind)

Pain. just, pain. I really like how the anime (and manga) handle the topics of grief, lose, love and toxicity. But also how to move on from that, how to process it and the importance of knowing how to communicate. It really makes for a beautiful if not incredibly sad story. (also fuck you Kaji, you know what you did.)

Sasaki and Miyano (Anime + Manga)

On the opposite side of the spectrum from given, we get Sasaki and Miyano! It's really just pure fucking fluff. It's a sweet slow-burn love story, that'd I'd really recommend if you like that kind of thing, also the fucking end music slaps.

Neon Genesis Evangelion (Anime + Manga)

Ooooh boy. NGE Is an anime that I think everyone takes something different from. whether it's the themes and messages it's trying to convey to the audience, or it's cool visuals or fights. It's got something for everyone. For me it's the message of self-love and acceptance it's conveying to the watcher through the eyes of Shinji, that we all have value and a place in the world, that it's okay for us to be here. But also it's message that escapism isn't a good thing, that we need to face our problems head on instead of hiding away from them. And then the Rebuilds building upon this and giving us even more! I'd highly recommend watching!! Just be a good mental head space lol.

Castle in the Sky (Anime)

The first Ghibli film I ever watched!!! Absolutely fell in love with the art style and animation ever since!

Howls Moving Castle (Anime)

Honestly, same with Castle in the Sky! second Ghibli film I ever watched and fell in love! such gorgeous visuals! and a beautiful story! one of my favourite films of all time!

"And you want me to tell you that code?", you asked Charles over the phone.

Your boyfriend needed to go to the bank to sort a few errands out, and since you had finished moving the last boxes of your belongings to his apartment, you stayed back to tidy them and organise them within the apartment. As it turns out, he forgot to take the documents with the codes.

"Yes, please amour - it's in my notebook on my desk on the office", Charles asked, "I think I went as far as taking the paper out a little so it peeks out but I forgot to take it with me", you could hear the smile and blush on his face.

"Let me go there - don't you mind me looking on your notebook though?", you said as you moved through the apartment, "by the way, I have already found some space in the kitchen for mug collection - yay! Okay, found the notebook - is it the document with your signature or the one that has the details?", you questioned.

"The one with the signature, at the end, left side", Charles repeated what the bank assistant was telling him so he could help you find what he wanted, "and it's the third and fifth number on the Mobile Key".

"Okay, I have it - it's 4 and 1", you informed him, "those are the third and fifth numbers".

"Merci amour, I don't think I need anything else! Once I finish up here, I'll head home to you, I love you! And Y/N, I trust you with everything I have - I have nothing to hide", he offered, making you bid him goodbye before ending the call.

His words ressonated with you as you flickered through the pages, noticing some doddles and racing notes before you decided to look at it from the beggining.

The first page had what looked like a poem and it dated back to the end of 2016.

My father told me to be careful

- Try to slow down a little

You don't ponder nor stay still

You don't belong or give yourself to anywhere

He said - my boy, you know what you're capable of

The world awaits you, go ahead and smile

You don't want to be left behind

It's not been easy dealing with everything. There's hope and there's the want to do more to prove everyone that I belong in Formula One. Still, I'm happy that Prema decided to have me race for them next year in Formula Two and things should go up from there. Time and patience, work and rest. Spending time with the people I love most and care about me the most.

Y/N also progressed on her studies and she's doing really well - she makes our friend group very proud! The guys are investing on their careers too and it's nice to see that, in a way, we're all growing up.

The page went on about all the whereabouts of the group, who had gotten together with someone, who had moved out of their parents' house and the ones who got work offers. There were jotted up plans for the summer holidays that, in hindsight, were mostly realized.

When you turned it to the next one, the poem continued with the same tone.

My mother said to me

- You have to see what's happening

That girl is much more than a friend

But no matter how much I deny it

I really like Y/N. Not just as a friend, but also as someone who I want to share my life with.

Whenever someone wonders how I think my life will be like in five, ten, fifteen years, she's always there. There's racing - me climbing up the ladder to points, podiums, wins and championships -, and there is my family.

Y/N and our own family.

Mum claims she noticed it since we were kids and that right now is the right time. Y/N is single again and I can't afford to lose her. Lose her as a friend or lose the opportunity to confess my feelings, or the worst one: lose her because she doesn't feel the same or feel like being in a relationship right now?

It's funny how this works, how much I care about her and how it hurts me when she isn't feeling well. Or how bad I feel because I keep missing some of her university milestones because I'm racing somewhere in the world but she always call me and I'm right in her hand while her family and our friends are in the stands or waiting area.

Even though I'm the one that's furthest away, she keeps me close.

Charles had notes about you? He always carried the little notebook around but you assumed it was because of important information he wrote there. You didn't expect this.

His words rang in your ears as, while your boyfriend had told you he had been crushing on you for a while, he had never admitted feeling this doubt. Not to this extent.

Suddenly, it felt like you were taking a look from a different angle at Charles' soul. The intimacy and vulnerability wasn't foreign and you fell in love with him a little bit more.

Today is the day to get closer

To face her and see what she says

And if luck follows me

As I'm writing this, I hope Y/N is getting ready to meet me in the park. She looks beautiful in anything, but I'm hoping she wears one of her dresses that make her look like a real life princess.

Maybe we will be happy

What I have planned isn't elaborate, because I don't think she would like a big production, and I hope it's enough to show her where I stand.

I asked maman for some help with the cakes and cookies and got the rest from the shop, we're going to have a picnic and I've decided today is the day where I tell her how I fell about her.

Charles asked you to meet up with him at the park because he wanted to talk to you. The seriousness of the text was confirmed when you arrived, Charles pacing around the picnic blanket until his eyes found yours.

"I can't pretend anymore", he said, "you're the first person I look for when I get somewhere I know you will be too, I can't stand to see you hurt or upset and I will kick myself every day if I'm ever the reason you hurt, which I hope I'll never be. You deserve the world, Y/N, the moon and the stars, and I'm going to get them for you because I love you", he offered.

You had been so dumbfounded that you could only approach him and kiss his lips, cupping his face closer to yours, "I've been in love with you for so long, Charles", you whispered back.

It was the day where your love story truly began despite having existed for all of your childhood. You were his and he was yours.

Continuing to look through the notebook, you spotted some racing notes with numbers and acronyms you weren't sure that they meant, taking a while to find another page that had similar writing.

Y/N is asleep right now as we fly back home after the race. She hasn't left my side and I think this is the first time she's sleeping since we got the news. We knew it was coming, but it doesn't mean that it hurts any less.

The feeling is unbearable. Someone who gives you so much also takes so much away from you when they go away. There's so much to go through, and all of the feelings haven't come up yet.

Maman is waiting for us with Lorenzo and Arthur, and I hope we will all find peace with this heavy feeling together.

Y/N told me the feeling may never leave, it creeps up when you least expect it and there are no rules to it.

Time is precious and I want to spend as much time as I can with the ones I love. God knows I did that with papa and it still feels like it wasn't enough.

The creak of the floorboards alerted you that someone else was inside the apartment before Charles' head peeked, "Hello, mon ange", he smiled, coming up to kiss your forehead.

It's these moments where we're not doing anything particular or special that mean the most. Y/N has given me all she's got and I've given her all of me, at the end it's the most human thing to do. Be there. Be present. Allow the other to feel everything they need to feel and protect them. Y/N has protected me and she's never let me doubt that we are for each other.

"I looked through these - I didn't mean to invade your privacy but I got curious", you admitted. It would be no use to lie about it or try to hide it away.

"Did you like what you found?", Charles asked, pulling the other office chair to sit at the table with you, "I have this one here that I really like actually", he flickered through the pages.

"I wrote this one when we were on holiday, it the boat", Charles tapped the page, "you looked so beautiful that day and I felt like I was running out of time to appreciate you. "These are very beautiful, Charles - this one is so beautiful", you smiled, kissing his cheek and cuddling up to his arm as he continued to leaf through the notebook.

There were also drawings and loose poems along with some photos he kept of you two. One of the hike you had done in Ibiza last year caught your eye. You stood on top of the rock and by the way your arms were positioned, you were calling Charles to join you in there while he snapped the picture.

"This was last year, one of the seasons where I had to deal with so much disappointment in racing, and you never let go. Loving you? It's as incredible as it is a big responsibility because I have to make sure the adventure is still there and that we're both in it", Charles admitted.

"Being loved by you makes me feel like the only other person in the world", you looked up at him.

"Loving you is making sure the time stops when you're with me so I can tell you all the silly stories I know just to make you smile, all of this to make sure you know you're the reason behind my happiness and the one behind the longing that never lies when you're not there. It's hugging you back tight and have my heart wide open because it's yours to take", he sighed with a smile on his face.

"I love you, Charles - being loved by you is the best thing I get to experience in this life", you smiled before kissing his lips.

"This helps me a lot when you're not with me, it's like I can talk to you", Charles muttered, "and I get to have the memories written out too, you never know when this can come in handy".

"You have no excuse if your speech in our wedding feels impersonal or doesn't have any memories then", you joked as Charles' finger lightly pressed down on the remaining pages of the notebook, making sure you don't get the idea to flicker through the random pages he has used to doodle the perfect engagement ring for you, smiling at the thought of having you be his forever.

"I definitely don't, amour - I'll make sure it's a good one when the time comes", he smiled.

what: modern cdrama // completed // 38 eps, roughly 35 mins each where: wetv (also on the app) // viki why: desert supernatural adventure with ni ni and bai yu, this had "sarah is going to lose it over this show" written all over it right from the start tbh, zero percent of people are surprised i enjoyed it. the characters are all well done and ni ni and bygg were great in their roles, the worldbuilding for the society inside yumen was interesting, and the cgi is well done for the genre (i mean...this is basing it off cdrama cgi standards okay!!)

meet my girl ye liuxi:

GOD... xi-jie... 😘 where do we even start

brains: 10 brawns: 100 memory: -300

xi-jie woke up in the middle of the desert, hung on a tree, with no idea who she is, v fragmented memories of the past, and a satchel with some v vague clues. she spends about a year working odd jobs in a town nearby to survive and to work out a plan to find out about her past.

her investigations lead her to chang dong:

dong-ge!! 😍🤤

brains: 10 brawns: 10 memory: 10 (but like 95% of it is tragic)

dong-ge is a desert guide, used to be one of the best (and certainly one of the most famous) in the region until he led an expedition (which consisted of his fiancée and their friends) into the desert and all eighteen of them except him died during a freak sandstorm. major survivor guilt on this boy. ultimate goal is to find the remains of his friends so that their families can move on in peace.

anyway, xi-jie ropes dong-ge into taking her into the desert. it's heavily implied that pre-memory lost her knows where the remains of his dead fiancée is, so the deal is: help me find my memory, and i'll help you find your friends.

they travel to the Yumen Pass together with three others - fei tang (who tags along for an opportunity to steal this priceless artefact he saw on xi-jie), and xiaoliu & gao shen (xiaoliu's godfather is sponsoring the trip for ~reasons, gao shen is her bodyguard with a crush on her), but soon realise that the pass leads to a parallel world where xi-jie is originally from.

in that world, there are spiritual beasts and monsters and all that jazz. the parallel world is governed by three ruling families who fight against a rebel organisation the Scorpion Eye. the gang navigates through the parallel world trying to solve the mystery behind xi-jie's past and the Yumen Pass prophecy. that's p much the gist of it.

the cons: this show moves a little slowly at times, but once you get invested, everything is all good. i'd say the first 2-4 eps needed a bit of getting into, but it does pick up. meng ziyi is in this as well, but i was a bit :/ about her performance - her character needed a bit more nuance and would've benefitted from a better portrayal than what mzy delivered. not something that really put me off the show, tho!!

the pros: ye liuxi is such an excellent character!! she is super fight fight fight and has Minimal impulse control. if a fight can solve problems, that's the way she's going. she starts off a bit "stick close, because if y'all die in the desert i'm not going to care" but just...grows so invested in everyone's wellbeing. chang dong is a nice contrast to ye liuxi - he's level-headed and is more focused on plans and trying to get everyone in and out of the Pass alive. the chemistry between them is great, like i didn't think i would be into this for the romance but GOD DAMN look at my dongxi couple

ni ni and bai yu aside, the rest of the gang were great also - they provided a lot of laughs to cut through the seriousness of the show, and the growing friendship between them was really fun to watch.

the plot was decent!! you can sort of guess the direction it's going, but it doesn't stop it from being a super fun show to watch. i binged like the last 10 eps in one sitting. i also really did appreciate the show giving me the finale i wanted: everything wraps up nicely (*stares at mlc*), there're no loose ends for me to lose my shit over (*stares at my journey to you*).

all in all, a p strong 9/10 for me!! would enjoy if y'all are into those desert adventure cdramas. would enjoy if y'all are bygg fans.

That having been said, if you want to do a sketch a day, go for it! You have the entire month of October to make whatever you'd like. :)

This is the 67th post in the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection Countdown: 14 days left until release!

Today's topic: the Allies & Adversaries Trailer for the Investigations Collection!

A full new trailer has been released for the Investigations Collection titled "Allies & Adversaries Trailer" which not only introduces said allies and adversaries (or some of them) but also teases the story of both games in an epic way.

For Investigations 1 we of course get introduced to Kay and Shi-Long, our main new ally and main adversary, with these nice little focus images (including the ever present chess pattern, of course).

The way I1's story is teased is pretty vague to avoid any too specific spoilers but they use several of the later in-game images as epic teasers (that fire visual from I1-5 is one of my absolute favourites from the whole of AA) and I love how the text references some plot points without directly stating them (the "key to the present" meaning the Yatagarasu's key plus the significance of who the three people in the image are). If I wasn't already beyond hyped to replay this game again, this would definitely do it!

For Investigations 2 our adversaries, Sebastian (Eustace) and Justine (Verity), don't get these focus images sadly though they're still introduced with a confrontational line each. In the allies category I would've expected to see Ray (Eddie) mentioned but he doesn't show up at all in the trailer. Something interesting I noticed here though is how Sebastian's name tag for when he talks is "Eustace", his first name, whereas it was "Debeste", his last name, in the fan translation. Miles does call him "Prosecutor Debeste" up until the end of case 3 but I always thought "Sebastian" would be more fitting for his name tag since Miles switches to his first name for the rest of the game and it wouldn't lead to Sebastian's father having his first name in the name tag, when Sebastian doesn't, as to not be confused with his son. I don't know if the official localisation will have Blaise (Excelsius) go by "Winner" in his name tag but I do like that they switched to Sebastian's first name for his. Hopefully Miles' change in how he addresses him is kept intact as I adore how it shows how Miles starts to recognize that Sebastian is not that different from how he used to be.

I2's story gets a lot more focus instead of any individual characters and they aren't nearly as vague about it as they were with I1. Most of the central story questions and general obstacles get teased - again in a pretty epic way! I especially love the way the IS-7 incident is brought in with its connection to DL-6. That means you already know a lot more details from this trailer but since I2's story is so meaty anyway I don't think it's a bad thing. There's still so much more to discover!

And one thing the trailer revealed specifically is the new name of the organisation standing in Miles' way which Justine is a part of and which was called "Prosecutorial Investigation Committee (PIC)" in the fan translation: Committee for Prosecutorial Excellence (CPE). That will definitely take some getting used to from me but it sounds nicely imposing and powerful. I like the focus on specifically investigating any wrongdoings from prosecutors in the fan translated name but depending on how they describe the purpose of this committee being responsible for prosecutors doing the most "excellent" work they can might be more fitting. It sounds a tad too similar to the quest for "perfection" of the von Karmas for my taste if I'm being honest, but I'll have to see how they use it in the game to solidify my opinion.

Apart from that we also got a first listen to Justine's new voice in English and in German since the trailer has also been released in German!

I love these coloured backgrounds for the voice clips, yellow for Shi-Long and purple for Justine, they look so good! Justine's voice clip stays "Overruled" as expected and her new voice is notably deeper than her fan voice was. But I like it, it sounds effortlessly commanding with a calm authority that really fits her. I get the criticism that it sounds too old but I see that more as a problem with her age in the game simply being too young because Justine sounding as old as she does actually makes more sense.

In German she says "Abgelehnt!" which is exactly what I predicted way back when! It sounds good, I don't have any issues with it, looking forward to hearing it in context. Her German voice is a bit higher than her English counterpart though still mature and authoritative and it even has a little more oomph behind it, she says it more forcefully which I love. Really like the German voice clips so far!

Since I have the opportunity with the German trailer version I wanted to compare a few lines directly with the new German translation. We get Kay's introductory line where she calls herself "the Great Thief Yatagarasu" or in German "Yatagarasu, die Meisterdiebin". I love "Meisterdiebin" as the choice here (literally "master thief"), it's a great title and has a lot more oomph than any version of "Der große Dieb" or whatever would have! I also kinda love that the German line specifies her as female, she doesn't say "Ich bin der Meisterdieb Yatagarasu" but instead loses the article before Yatagarasu and then characterizes Yatagarasu and herself as "Meisterdiebin". I do wonder how they're going to do that with her father allegedly being the previous Yatagarasu and the confusion around who the Yatagarasu is but they could probably switch it around between "Meisterdieb" and "Meisterdiebin" however they need it. (Side note, the HD chibi sprite of Miles being tied to a post is as glorious as I expected it to be!)

We also get a line from Shi-Long antagonizing Miles, showing his disdain for prosecutors in general and Miles specifically. I adore Shi-Long's habit of calling Miles some variation of "pretty boy" several times (he really does it an, let's say, interesting amount of times...), it's so deliciously specific! And I'm heartbroken to report that at least for this line they removed the "pretty" connotation from the German version 😭 He calls him "Schnösel" instead which doesn't have an exact English equivalent but means something like a snob, a vain conceited person (often rich but not necessarily) who's only concerned with himself. It does fit the general meaning of the line in that Shi-Long insults Miles' excessive poshness and how he's unfit to be at a crime scene but I hate to lose the specific additional connotations of "pretty boy" in this context. Though to the translators' credit I'm also struggling to come up with a more fitting alternative. The direct translation "hübscher Junge" doesn't have the same connotations as the English version at all and would result in Shi-Long basically calling Miles too good-looking to work. (100% full-on flirting, I'm not kidding here. It would still sound somewhat condescending but it wouldn't be the insult it's supposed to be.) The only similar option I can think of is "Schönling" and I think that'd work pretty well. It keeps the "pretty" connotation (schön = pretty) while also keeping the insult. I would've preferred that to what they went with. I still have hope for Shi-Long's other lines though (as I said, he says this several times and in ways that are a lot harder to remove the playful tone of), let's see what the German translation does with those!

Moving on, we of course also get the German name of the PIC: Komitee für ausgezeichnete Staatsanwaltsarbeit (KAS?), pretty much a direct translation of the new English name. I like it, no criticisms that I don't already have for the English version.

Finally, the trailer closes with a great amount of different scenes from the games all floating over the screen. There's too many to talk about all of them so I only want to comment on three specifically:

First, the one of Little Thief projecting the Haunted House looks awesome! Especially the Little Thief version of Miles' chibi sprite, even if you can only see part of it, is so cute. Chibi Shi-Long looks like he's trying very hard to look unimpressed.

Second, there's the scene of Miles and Shi-Long exchanging business cards (looking forward to seeing the evidence icon of Shi-Long's in more detail!) and it really looks like the HD animation includes the cards this time! Yay! (The things I get excited about with this game 😄)

Third, there's a scene of Sebastian using his new name as a pun! It might not be representative of all the ways he's going to do that but it shows at least one instance of it. In English he says: "I'm not just ANY rookie! I am a winning rookie!" and in German: "Das will aber nicht viel heißen! Schließlich bin ich ein Winner!" I'm not gonna lie, I vastly prefer the German version here 😅 The English one just sounds kind of... dumb? Which isn't necessarily unusual for Sebastian but it's not even really funny? Whereas the German one uses the double meaning of "Ich bin ein Winner" = "I'm a winner" and "I'm a member of the family Winner". It's still Sebastian-level of cringe but at least it sounds like he tried! Oh I can already tell I'm going to struggle with all of these little differences...

And one last point: The music chosen for the trailer is amazing! It's the arranged versions of I1's Objection theme (for most of it) and I1's Pursuit theme (for the last bit). Very sneaky to tease them like this, I can't wait to hear the other arrangements and the full versions. They sound epic!

The several IC offers to help Daffodil in her search has inspired me to do something a little more organised! Here's the deal: Your character, if they so choose to, can help Daffodil in her search, can now join her "party"! This will allow them have a chance to appear in the background for future asks, plot posts, or even do actions to help in finding the children. (Of course, I will check over actions with you to make sure it's in character!)

So what would you need to do? 1. Send an ask where your character approaches Daffodil! Regular interaction ask stuff, just get your character to interact as they normally do. 2. Once I answer (No promises I can get to them all, but its always worth a try! Its more likely i can answer than not). Make a reply post! Please have your character offering or choosing to tag along, just so it's clear to me. Art and/or writing both welcome. Just make sure to put in effort, since the purpose here is not to get free art. 3. That's it! You're always free to continue to interaction if I manage a reply back, but I'll count your character into helping the party. Daffodil may begin acknowledge them in the posts on this blog, and fun stuff like that. Your character is also welcome to send in follow up asks as they continue to help search.

Hope this will be fun! I thought it'd be nice to establish some cross-blog relationships quicker by setting this up. I've called this a "segment" part of the blog since... I don't think this will last too long, since this is kind of a transitional event of the blog but I wanted to have fun while I had the idea. Kyouka:

She would try her DAMNED HARDEST OKAY

Scarily good at cutting (legally she's not allowed to be cutting stuff because she's too young, but she's good at it so I wouldn't snitch). Like she'll slice up a whole box of lettuce in like two seconds. We would NEVER run out of cuts with Kyouka on board

Also very good at cleaning, would clear out the entire store and kitchen in a manner of minutes

However she's bad with customers. Like REALLY bad. She would either just tell them the entirely wrong thing, falter and run away, stare silently in confusion, or just refer them to me lol

Always appreciative whenever people bring snacks to work and let her have some

Her favourite job is cutting and wrapping stuff because it's what she's best at and it makes her feel more confident in her ability

Constantly amazed by the pricing machine that just spits out price tags (me too queen) and is always so delighted no matter how long she'd been working there

I appreciate her doing her best and I don't care how many times she makes a mistake she will learn and continue as best as she can and that's REALLY what counts

Yosano:

Oh boy.

I'll start by saying that a very large percentage of my patrons are middle-aged to elderly men. Some of them are very polite and nice, sure, but there are...others.

These 'others' would not last half a second under the icy glare of Akiko Yosano. A single suspicious glance/comment at me or any other female staff would have her committing suable actions

She'd also be good at cutting stuff, but probably get a little too zealous when she gets to cut pumpkins (aka use a mallet and a giant knife at the same time)

Absolutely would answer the phone with no hesitations and be able to take orders and stuff properly without any training which is nice

BUT if someone called us asking for empty cardboard boxes or something stupid like that (which has actually happened) she would argue with them and then just hang up T-T

She should honestly be in a management position because she would be so good at that

Yosano has her ups and downs in vegetal retail. But regardless of all that, she would be like. The COOLEST coworker ever on god

Kouyou:

At first I'm not sure if she'd like a job like retail

She'd be like 'I'm really being paid minimum wage to cover my hands in rotten fruits and get verbally abused by pensioners?' (she's so right btw)

But she'd eventually get into the groove of things (probably just because she has nothing else do to) and would actually become quite good at it

She'd be good at organising, cleaning and sorting stuff out to make it look presentable

A respectful AND respectable queen who values neatness and maintains a good rapport with customers...except if they give the rest of her coworkers any shit. Then she's not maintaining as good of a rapport with customers

She's the kind of girl who would ABSOLUTELY talk shit about customers (and other coworkers ngl) in the back lmao

She would always wear gloves because she doesn't wanna get her hands dirty (I hc that Kouyou has perfectly manicured hands and does what she can to maintain them)

Would get frustrated easily though so we'd just have to try not to upset her as much as possible sksjkjfks

Gin:

I have this coworker who's not very talkative and can be a little awkward to talk to some times, but he's a literal godsend and does everything extremely quickly and to such a perfect degree that without him I am complete mess

THAT is Gin as my coworker

Also my coworker is like super nice as well and Gin would be really nice too lol

She would come off as frightening at first though. I get the feeling that a lot of customers wouldn't want to approach her lol

Might be lacking in confidence at first when she starts but she gets the hang of it quickly enough

Probably doesn't tie her hair up properly and is constantly asked about it by the manager

You would never have to ask her to do anything, she'd just be on top of it all and have everything ready

Would never answer the phone even if she were the only one there. She would probably freeze up and panic until someone else came and answered it for her (she really doesn't strike me as a phone person, because same)

Higuchi:

She is also doing her damned best and y'know what? Even if she continuously fucked up, I would forgive her

Even though I know Higuchi is actually very strong and accomplished she's still my favourite girlfailure and I love her

She's pretty good with customers but she would probably falter if one of them started getting mad at her or something (I would defend her guys)

A little bit clumsy, she might drop some things or her cuts might be a little janky, but like honestly the customers can DEAL with it. I feel like they wouldn't probably mind anyway because Higuchi is a pretty likeable person

Always sharing her snacks with her coworkers

Probably late to work a lot of the time but only by a couple minutes, and always makes up for it by staying behind after her shift ends (I wouldn't be surprised if the store actually ended up owing her some hours lol)

Really strong, so people are always getting her to help them lift/carry stuff

Leaves little encouraging/nice notes around for her coworkers because she's a sweetie <3

Naomi:

Naomi haters are gonna get so mad when I say that she'd be a brilliant coworker

We've seen how good at her agency job she is, why would retail be any different?

The best customer sweet-talker ever, would get herself and me out of any and all trouble and the manager would never ever know

Knows how to work all the machines and has memorised each of the numerical codes for each food like a walking dictionary (there's like five hundred of them fr)

Jun'ichiro sometimes visits the store to go shopping and that's the only real issue that Naomi has at work. She will drop everything to spend every second she can with her brother and it's honestly pretty annoying

If she gets overwhelmed she would forget how to do literally anything correctly and might have a bit of a panic moment

Dudes are probably trying to hit on her all the time and she might actually throw food at them I'm not kidding (and I would fully side with her)

She would also be so nice to her fellow coworkers and always encourage them :')

Lucy:

Lucy would consider this kind of work to be spectacularly easy compared to what she had going on in her orphanage and the Guild

Truly a testament to how absolutely shitty her life has been so far (sorry queen I could treat you better <3)

She's pretty good at everything, not perfect but generally quite good. An all-rounder, always getting called in on unscheduled days because she's just the go-to for everything lmao

Not that she would come in on those days, but yk

She would bring snacks for her coworkers but she would never admit it. She'd be like "You can have some if you want I don't care" while having entirely bought them for them lol

If a customer tries to strike up an argument with her or ask for something unreasonable, or try to guilt her into doing things for them (which is surprisingly common actually), they would FAIL

Would store extra stock in Anne's room (and would probably just keep rubbish from throughout the day in there to keep the kitchen clean, until the end of her shift when she can throw it out lol)

Alongside Gin she's EASILY the most valuable and helpful coworker (and also the cutest prettiest one <3)

hihi !! that's really nice to of you make the effort to understand ! i'll put a little tutorial under the cut for you and anyone else that would like to learn. this is one of the best ways you can support writers on tumblr and i really encourage readers to stop and read this !

main or side? if you have no problem reblogging fics onto your main blog you can skip this section! this is just for people who don't feel comfortable putting fic on their blog for whatever reason.

tumblr has a thing called sideblogs where you can make secondary blogs on the same account. no one else looking at that blog will know it's attached to your main unless you tell someone. it's a great option for people who want a blog only for fic they read. the downsides is that you can only reply to posts from your main and send asks off anon from your main. but it's a great option for reblogging fic.

on mobile: just go to your blog then press your name and then 'create a new blog'

on web: click the profile icon then 'new'

how to reblog this part is easy! the best way to help writers is to reblog any fic you read and enjoyed. leaving a little comment in the tags is a lovely bonus and i'll show you how to do that soon. first i'll show you how to reblog really quickly with no comments. it's as easy at liking!

on mobile: at the bottom of a post, HOLD the reblog button. the icons of all your blogs will appear. DRAG then RELEASE over the blog you want to reblog the post to. your main or any sideblog you've made. that's it!

on web: hold the e key on your keyboard and icons from your blogs will pop up. then hover over the icon you want to reblog to and click. same deal as mobile. will reblog to the blog you clicked, quick and easy.

adding feedback/tags this is the bonus step that will make any writer's day. i read every single comment people leave in the tags of their reblogs! here's how you can add comments to your reblogs!

bonus: using tags is also how you can organise your blog. if you add tags like 'minho' or 'favourite' and then search them on your blog later, you can find your favourite fics. much easier to organise than likes.

on mobile: press the reblog button instead of holding it.

where it says '+ add tags to help people find your post', click and add any and all thoughts about the fic you just read. it can be a little keysmash or it can be an essay. adore anything you feel like offering. type a sentence or word then hit return on your phone keyboard then type the next word or sentence. and so on and so on. (this is also where you can put your organisational tags). then when you're done press reblog.

on web. click the reblog button. you'll get a popup like this. type your tags. all your thoughts. then any tags to help you find the post later. hit reblog!

bonus: if you really do want to write an ESSAY (always welcome). this is where you can put your thoughts into the caption instead of tags. where i've written 'long comments/essays here' on mobile screenshot and where it says 'go ahead, put anything' on web.

when should you reblog? whenever you finish a fic that you enjoyed! tumblr works by sharing posts with others through reblogging. when you follow people any posts they reblog will show on your dashboard. it's great for organically sharing content without algorithms like other sites use. fanfiction is all about fandom and community. writers write. and readers share and comment on the writing they enjoy. healthy ecosystem!

what are likes for then? exactly what it says on the tin. hey, i liked this! a lot of people use them as bookmarks. i can only see this being a good use of it if you also reblog fics once you've read them. i can only imagine how many liked posts some people have. they must have to scroll for ages to find anything. i use it just as a like button. literally, i liked this! or to just show support for my mutuals personal posts. if i find a fic i want to read later, i'll use it for that sometimes too.

what if i'm shy? firstly, tumblr is entirely anonymous. i don't know who you are and all i'm doing is reading whichever tags you've decided to add to my work. no one you know can judge you for the fic you read if you make a blog just for fic. and i'm certainly not judging you. i have anxiety myself, i understand the struggle. exposure therapy! just give it a go, see how you feel. i really feel you if you just make the effort to start doing it, you'll realise it really is okay! writers on here adore feedback and they'll appreciate you a lot for being a reader that reblogs and comments. reblogging with no comment to start off might help you ease into it.

writing takes a lot of time and effort. the only thing i've ever seen asked in return from the people that write is for you to let them know what you thought of it in the tags of a reblog! it's a very minor action compared to the time and effort it took to write the fic as well as the time and effort it took you to read it!

anyway, appreciate anyone who made the effort to read this and understand. readers who reblog and comment are the reason anyone is still on this site writing! ♡

I'm fairly quiet in person, more of an observer than a doer. Although, within my circle of friends, I tend to be the one planning when to hang out and what to do. I love making and giving things to people, whether that's art, gifts I've bought or snacks and meals that I know they love. However, I can also be very stubborn and unwilling to listen to others at times which makes things a little frustrating for everyone involved. I love cats, have two I miss waiting for me at home, and I love creating and making all kinda of art. Creating in general is a big thing for me - it really does feel like breathing sometimes. As much as I like my quiet nights in playing video games and painting, I can get behind an energetic night out once in a blue moon.

OK! SO! You and Mary-Beth are so similar to me that I can't help but imagine you'd make an excellent pair! You're both on the quieter side, and your view of yourself as an observer is so like her. She'd be so keen to people watch with you. And your natural inclination for planning and organising would help her find her way out of her shell a bit quicker, since she needs someone who can take charge like that.

I think a dichotomy is good! No one can be "good" all the time, and no one should expect that. You're a gift giving sweetheart who can be a bit stubborn, Mary-Beth is a sweetheart who is an exceptional thief and scam artist. And importantly, she's used to a rowdier bunch, so if you ever felt the need to be reigned in, she'd be on hand to do that, just as enthusiastically as she'd accept a kind gift from you.

do you make your bed? i don't, but my husband treats it like a religious tradition. and since getting married i'll admit to having been swayed to the 'made bed superiority' train. it is so nice to get into a made bed at night. somehow it feels...cleaner?

if you could go back to school, would you? i'm about halfway through my master's right now and also working on getting my principal's certification. it's insanely hard to balance with a full time job and family, but...i've honestly begun to see my classes as restorative times. i get to unplug, be away from the demands of my kids (sorry girls), and just learn.

can you parallel park? no because i learned how to drive in oxford f'ing england and we barely even have paved roads

a job you had that would surprise people? absolutely none. i worked at a tea shop in high school. typical english girl doing typical english things.

do you think aliens are real? honest to god, i've never thought about it for more than 30 seconds at a time. it's probably ignorance but i just do not give a sh*t. and that't mostly because my mind has so many other immediate things to process at any given time lol

Aww yeah the copper grind was 100% worth it, that roof looks so much better now. <3 I'm going to do, like, tiered gardens going down the mountainside for crops and whatnot, just to give the land more shape, and to flatten it out a little.

Did a cute lil interior as well. Little workspace in one area, and more of a sitting area on the other side, with some storage under the staircase. I'm all fully organised now, and I dug a storage room into the mountain bc I was already outgrowing the initial storage I put in the second floor lololol. Too much digging. XD

The furnace wall will turn into an autosmelter in time so I can expand my storage out that way when it's time, but for now, it'll do. I've reserved three columns of chests on the back left side for cobble, dirt, and cobbled deepslate, bc I just have So Much of it.

Enchanting room and bedroom. <3 Bedroom still needs some lil bits of decoration, but it'll do for now. I have sheep and cows and sugarcane growing now so I'll slowly work on getting the bookshelves I need for a full set-up. I'll build the animals a barn at some point as well, so they're not just in random pens down the mountainside.

Also I've been making staircases everywhere. Up to the top of the mountain, and down to my branch mine. There's tons of flat land on the top of the mountain, and I'd like to build some bigger structures up there, though what yet I don't know. Maybe I'll put the villagers up there idk. I could def fit a nice trading hall up there without needing to terraform so much. idk we'll see.

I do plan to make a path to the closest village, and I think next time I play, I may do that, and spend some time over there getting some villagers levelled up. It's by a meadow biome, and there's plenty of flat-ish space for crop farming and tree farming for emerald trades. I'd like to get a mending villager, and also a leatherworker so I can get a saddle and acquire one of the horses or donkeys I've seen around the place to make the journey quicker.

I'd like to bring the villagers back to my base eventually, when I decide to switch this world from peaceful to easy, so I can get an iron farm up and running, but I need to decide where tf the villagers are going first. I'll do the same iron farm I have in my other java world bc it's so stupidly small and simple to build, and it has given me SO MUCH MORE IRON THAN I COULD EVER POSSIBLY USE omg. I just need to figure out where the villagers are going, and then figure out how tf I'm getting them there lol. :D

Also guess who managed to get lost TWICE today and had to dig tunnels to get back again lololol. :D Once whilst bringing cows back from the village, and once while accidentally going caving and finding a deep dark biome and forgetting my way back. Also I am disappointed to discover I just have a gigantic deep dark biome under the mountain, not an ancient city, so no loot for me. It's in the biggest fkn cave I've ever seen, stretched hundreds of blocks. Sadge.

Also I have decided I'm not going to bother upgrading to netherite on my other java solo world before I upgrade the world. I have toolsmiths and armoursmiths for days, tons of diamonds, I play with keep inventory on, and I Do Not Want to go netherite mining, so. I'll make do with diamond. I will trim the world a little tho, cut out those chunks around the mountains and the woodland mansion just so I can be sure I'll get those Vex armour trims. >_>

Oh. And remind me tomorrow to fix up my minecraft build tags, bc I want to be able to find each world, and now that I have two java solo worlds, I should probably make them distinguishable. So I'll do a post about that tomorrow. And then maybe catch up on my dash bc I've been ignoring it bc I'm so addicted to 1.20 omg.

8. do you expect your answered memes/asks to be turned into threads? regardless of answer, what’s your reasoning?

Not at all! I send asks because I know people love to get them (I love to get them), and I think it helps people feel more comfortable with each other to start. Sometimes I just send an ask because I can see Pavel saying x or the mun is super interested in that particular prompt so I'm like 'here's my son! write a reply, a drabble, whatever!'

It's the same thing in the reverse. If someone sends me something, I'll answer it the best way I see fit and I'll try and leave it open if it's that type of ask to invite a reply if the sender so chooses to continue it, but if not, then that's absolutely fine with me. Sometimes I also just want to take the prompt and write a drabble for fun and that's just something nice / fun for both parties.

9. when you look at a new blog, what is it that makes you press the follow button? is it the muse, the aesthetics, the writing–?

I look at writing, muse, and I guess...organisation? I don't mean in terms of a ratio of ooc vs. ic posts or fancy tags or anything like that, mostly for things like is the formatting style of their posts too wild for me, do they (if they can) trim their posts, is someone writing with very heavy purple prose, things of that nature. They have to have a rules, about page, and some indication of their age (for example, just saying 21+ is totally fine with me, you don't have to put your exact age out there) somewhere on the blog. I also don't expect their about page, especially for OCs, to have eighteen years' worth of development and information on it. I just need the basics.

I'm mostly interested in their character and their writing style and if I like their writing style and I see ours meshing and I think their character is super neat (even if I don't know their fandom if they're a canon character), then they'll probably get a follow from me.

Aesthetics are nice and all, sure, but I'm not hunting down a graphics blog to commission to make me a theme or fancy icon borders. Pavel's blog has nothing extremely fancy going on for it aesthetics / graphics wise. As a roleplayer, having super cool blog aesthetics isn't all that important to me since, to be perfectly honest, I'm not on peoples' actual blogs anyway. I'm on my dash scrolling or I'm on mobile.

I was originally just going to keep it on twt but then I started actually going thro my notes and wow. That...was a lot. And twt is a pain when you talk too much. (And I can edit so much better here??? The alignment is still my enemy though)

So yeah.

But anyways this is extremely random and mainly for the purpose of recording my immediate feelings to refer back to incase I ever want to write fanfics or something of that nature. Thought I had to re-read instead but this beats it.

It is also after everyone has already done listening and raving about it but here I am, late to the party.

Mostly because audio media (other than songs) were never my thing because unless I pay actual attention to it deliberately, I WILL tune it out lmao. Never thought I'd do it.

It's so funny that it took me more than a year (maybe two?) To finally get down to the audio drama lmao

I saw some snippets of faraway wanderers, erha and thousand autumns on yt. So i think I really may grow to love audio dramas in general too (ALSO I DIDN'T KNOW 2HA HAD AD?!)

But anyways onwards, enough rambling.

The voice actors are amazing, I love all of them but LAN XICHEN'S LAUGHTER IS SO PLEASANT?

Articulate - Weekend Notes

November 25-26th (12 hours)

After being in contact with Laura Frood, who is the producer of Articulate Cultural Trust, I was invited to the weekend workshops that were centred around Article 31 - which aims to give care experienced children and young people the right to play, relax, rest and have fun.

From the moment I walked in I was greeted by so many people with a smile and made to feel so welcome. At first I thought it was because they knew I was a student and were just being nice to me but it turns out that's just how they all are.

There were so many people there from so many backgrounds, social workers, health care workers, rappers, artists poets, so many. They all offered a unique background and knowledge that benefited the rest of the group.

Workshops consisted of learning to how to write songs from the rapper Paque. Having aspirations as a youngster to become a rockstar and writing so many lyrics, this felt like I was back to being that child again and I forgot just how therapeutic it was. Although I struggled as we only had a set amount of time and a subject I wasn't too familiar with but I came away with realising just how great writing down what I felt again.

We also had a workshop from Saffron Hill and Eve Woods, who are Leaders of Children of the Revolution, an organisation that seeks to help others through creativity.

We talked about the stigmas surrounding care experienced youth and how it affects them. We were then showing all these successful people from different industries that were from care experienced backgrounds and how it proves people just need a chance. We took a quote from one of these celebrities and stencilled it on top of some painting we had done earlier. I chose Debbie Harry as I'm a huge fan of Blondie but had no idea of her personal background. I chose the quote "I know who I am, and it would be an insult to the Harrys." regarding her biological parents as it connected with me as I don't speak to my family and like to make my own identity away from them.

There were so many things that I could go on and on about but I'll provide quick summarisations for the other workshops.

Trove/The Vault - A portable case that contains a phone and headphones along with a wristband that stores a personal NFT tag. Care experienced children often lose their possessions through one way or another so this allows them to scan a picture and record their voice. They then have a record of all these possessions through the years that only they can access. Along with a mobile app as well which they are pushing to get funding for.

Jessica Gillies Artivism workshop that helped us visualise a route to Article 31 by asking everyone in the room for their opinions, experience and knowledge to help plot the route through train tickets.

Auction - A fun little event at the end of it all were people bid their contributions/plans that they use to help obtain the realities of Article 31.

The experience was amazing, I honestly can't believe just how great and inspirational it was. I spoke to so many people who told me and showed me the work they were doing and hearing about their own backgrounds was so good to hear.

I believe I have been incredibly lucky to have been given this opportunity for a placement here and hope to learn as much as I can from the people involved with it as with such a diverse background I feel I could really benefit from this and in my plans for the future if/when I graduate.

Laura will contact me with regards to availability in the run up to Christmas, 40 hours is the minimum but I will be doing my best to get some extra hours in where/when I can as I don't know when a chance like this will come around again.
