Veronica Cale grew up in poverty in a small village somewhere in the english hills. Diagnosed with some sort of mental illness, Veronica was quickly found to be a gifted child with high academic potential. Her mother was ecstatic, seeing this as a chance for her daughter to escape poverty and bring her to fame and fortune. Her mom pretty much used her, but she was supportive. So Veronica could never bring herself to hate her mom.

Sadly, veronica's mom died when veronica was seventeen. Now lacking in the funds and moral support necessary to get herself into Oxford, veronica went looking for her birth father (a man her mother loved to lavish praise and devotion onto). In the end, veronica learns her father was a successful venture capitalist who left his company behind him to go live a tranquil retirement in a hong kong monastery. Veronica hunts him down, and then she swindles him out of his money. She wouldn't accept his love, even though he really was a changed man who gave up his greedy ways and just wanted to be a dad. She couldn't understand a man who would do that, so she stole his money and left him to rot.

Using her stolen money, veronica worked her way through Oxford, eventually becoming a triple PhD accredited businesswoman. Skilled in the fields of technology and medical science, veronica eventually founds a multinational tech and pharmaceutical corporation, Cale Pharmaceuticals. Using her massive fortune, she ran smear campaigns against things like the UK's NHS, trying to dismantle it and replace it with her own private healthcare plans. She's the Queen of Big Pharma, somehow despised by both the far right and the far left. But she's famous, always billing herself as the feminist who clawed her way up, never mentioning how this was only possible due to continuously threatening her father.

Yes, even moreso than Lex Luthor, Veronica Cale is corrupt and irredeemable. She wants to make healthcare for profit. She gets rich off the misery of others. And she uses her wealth to run an international spy organization, known to non-members only as CIBER. That stands for Cybernetic Intelligentsia Bringing Earth Ruin. And the leader of CIBER is none other than Veronica Cale herself, hiding behind a suit of power armour and billing herself as Doctor Cyber, an international terrorist bar excellence.

For a great many years, CIBER was successful in all their schemes. But then veronica's father learned of his daughter's involvement in the terrorist cell. He planned to expose her evil activities to the world at large, so she broke into his monastery and massacred everyone living there. Only one man survived; a blind man who would eventually aid the amnesiac Diana Prince under the pseudonym I-Ching. But veronica didn't know I-Ching survived, so she considered her crime a success.

With her father now dead, veronica inherits his fortune. Adding that to her already massive pile of money, veronica became the world's richest woman. She was all set to be time magazine's person of the year, but then Wonder Woman stole the spotlight away from her! Veronica Cale hates Wonder Woman, and she dreams of one day defeating her and ruining her reputation. But little did she know Wonder Woman was soon to become a thorn in her side, albeit a powerless Wonder Woman with amnesia and spy training…

I finally gathered the courage to send something to your ask box. There’s so much I want to say, but I'm not very good at expressing myself, so if my words seem a bit jumbled, I hope you don't mind.

I started using Tumblr a little over a year ago, and I remember stumbling upon one of your artworks after searching the “alttp” tag. I was so incredibly happy and excited — I loved it immediately, especially because it’s so rare to see ALTTP-related art where I’m from.

Back then, I didn’t pay much attention to who the artist was and just kept browsing. But over time, I realized that so many of the amazing pieces I loved were actually created by you! Honestly, your art is breathtaking. The way you portray Link and Zelda outside of the game’s narrative makes them feel so real. Your inspiration and creativity seem endless.

Your use of bright, intricate, and emotionally resonant colors fills every piece with a sense of story — sometimes with a gentle sadness, sometimes with tiny, charming interactions that make me smile.

I remember seeing that you draw on a particular site, and I tried using it too. It was really hard 😣 and made me admire your work even more — I’m amazed at how you manage to create such rich, detailed pieces on such a tiny canvas and with such limited tools.

Your compositions and the way you frame your scenes are incredible too — the perspectives you use, whether it's looking up, down, or close-up, show such skill and depth. I’ve been obsessed with your artwork for a long time 🥺🥺

And the outfits you design for Link and Zelda — they’re absolutely beautiful. They’re so different from the classic green tunic, yet they feel *exactly* like something the characters would wear. I don’t think any language could fully express how much I love your costume designs. Please allow me to scream for a moment here.

There’s still so much I want to say, but now that I’m writing, I find myself at a loss for words. So I’ll just say this: you are truly an amazing artist. Your work is astonishing and deeply captivating.

I'm sorry I have no idea where to start here, I'm feeling so overwhelmed in the best way ever! I just barely managed to load this ask before leaving the locker room at work yesterday and ended up hiding there until everyone else left bc I didn't want them to see my cry haha💕,,

I don't think there's any beginning or end to how emotional this got me and to how honoured I feel to have my art described in such a way;; this is!! absolutely everything I've ever dreamed of reaching with my art, so having someone else putting it into words just from looking at is so incredible !!!! ;v; even if it's hard to feel happy about my own stuff it seems like I can still portray the things I want to, this makes me so happy 🥹💕💕

1: Filter out works by anonymous authors (to do this in the Search, within Results box, or Any Field box for advanced search, enter without quotes "-creators: Anonymous")

2: Mute/hide works by anonymous authors via a site skin. tutorial

3: Mute/hide works with too many fandom tags tutorial (scroll to the bottom for the code to skip seeing how they figured it out)

4: Use an extension that can mute/hide works with too many fandom tags. u/Solivagant0 uses this one, but I haven't used it myself so I can't speak about it with any type of confidence.

Maddox Rowe - He/Him - 27 - The Demigod Golden skin and angry red eyes, Maddow Rowe stands tall at 6'3 casting an intimidating figure to most. Broad shoulders and a powerful form gained from a life of combat only add to it. Dark shaggy hair and a strong jaw complete his look.

Cormac Winters - He/Him - 28 - The Charming Rogue Long wild, wavy red hair is the first thing people notice when they see Cormac. The second is the sly grin that seems to have found a permanent place on his face. Lean in build, 6'0, and forest green eyes, some think him cocky but who can resist a pretty face?

Lucien Corvus - They/Them - 23 - The Hunter Piercing ice blue eyes on a cool white angular face that rarely shows anything different to cold indifference. Short blonde hair that rests against their forehead. They stand with shoulders back to a height of 5'10. Is that a dimple when they smile?

Sabine - She/Her - ??? - The ??? Eyes of liquid gold, skin a rich deep black, and ebony coils styled into long twists. Holding herself with a sense of regal poise, Sabine stands to a height of 5'9. She keeps a calm countenance even in unfavorable situations.

Brutally Soft Lore #01

A lot is going on with my most recent (and first post back!) of Brutally Soft. It really is meant to be up to interruption, but I wanted to share what I was thinking symbolically with Wednesday's dream (for anyone interested in that kind of thing).

To start, I redid this post four times, trying to figure out the best way to tell the story. Although pretty cliche, I think this dream sequence was a good look into Wednesday's psyche.

If you're an anime fan, you'll see the obvious nod to Neon Genesis Evangelion. NGE is an allegory for loneliness and depression. Alongside the other religious imagery in this post, it was a fitting reference that encompasses Wednesday well.

Neither I nor Wednesday believe in a God. Rather I choose the ocean to represent a sort of godly entity. You could interrupt this as Wednesday praying to Mother Nature as a kind of God as well. Here is where you'll see the NGE inspiration. The crosses floating in the ocean are meant to, in this scene, imply that the ocean itself is representative of a God. I wanted it to look someone what ... punishing? Almost angry? Like her prayer will not be answered, or she feels like it isn't going to be. It's a hostile interaction.

In the picture of Wednesday crying, she's facing away from the sun and the reflection of the crosses is still behind her but now they are upside down. Almost like she is turning her back on God or has lost faith. You could also interpret this as Wednesday being somewhat "sinful" and that sinfulness even follows hers ie. it looming behind her. Although this post has nothing to do with faith (and Wednesday had none, to begin with), this really is just to show a loss of hope. I love how this came out and I hope people see this detail but if you didn't hopefully now you do!

Despite the sin references, I use the daylit scenes to represent good intentions. Here Wednesday is hanging her head before she breaks down, but I placed the sun here to represent a halo. She, although struggling with motherhood, is trying. She is a victim of hardship. The dark ocean scenes came to be more of how Wednesday views herself and her situation and the daylight scene represents more of how others see her. I didn't add Amelia to this post because it is about a mother and daughter, but you could imagine, in a way, she is the sun looking down on her brightly.

Oh, Drew. I always edit Drew with angel wings because I think she embodies pure good. She's a child, pure of heart. In Wednesday's life, she acts as an angel as well. But I won't get too much into that here. In a not-so-subtle way, I chose black wings. Not to say she's fallen but perhaps darkness could or has or will enveloped her. Alternatively, the all-black is a way to mourn Drew's childhood. In the last detail, Drew is looking at a raven (or maybe you saw a crow) a symbol for a bad omen, the one Wednesday is worried about bestowing onto Drew. This scene is during the day, in the same sky as at the beginning of the post. Although you could deduce that Wednesday is either cynical or broken, she has hope in the back of her mind (ie in the background) when she envisions her daughter.

The line "I pray that my daughter doesn't look like me, doesn't resemble me." I have always said that Wednesday not only doesn't, like her appearance but she'd hope Drew wouldn't look like her. If you've seen Drew, she looks a lot like Wednesday. The resemblance reminds Wednesday of herself as a child and she worries she'll also see Drew with the same pain.

I've always shown Wednesday to be stoic (almost to fault and a symptom of bad writing). That anger masks a lot of sadness, I believe anger is a symptom of deep sadness. This is Wednesday's mind, where it is not necessary to mask her emotions, there is no reason she should feel the shame of crying. In this space, she feels free to just let out how she feels, and that is by sobbing. I feel like this could make people sympathetic or view her as weak. Who knows! My goal isn't to make the reader sad (I want them to just feel how they feel) but to show Wednesday more honestly.

The line she says is derivative of a quote by Franz Kafka.

The text in yellow! As I am sure anyone could guess it is a song. It is Tell Me by Corbin. If you can take some somber music, Corbin is incredible. My favorite artist. The lyrics and who is saying them or who they are about are really up to the reader. It could read that it was a voice speaking to Wednesday, a more sympathetic voice than her own. I think you could think of Wednesday saying it to Drew. Even a voice like Amelia's or an omnipotent voice saying it to them both. It was very fitting and I wanted it to include it to provide an alternative perspective to the reader.

I spent a lot of time on this post and I am very proud of it. IDK if this new style of storytelling is going to translate to people. Hopefully, it does to someone! This is only the first post so I won't expect too much. I hope to one day get to a point where I can hear other people's interactions and theories on the story and characters. Till then!
