We don’t know when the fed letter was written - it could have been while he was on the road for 5 days not eating or sleeping well. I think don’t think trying to dissect his written syntax is fair when he was clearly not in a good state when he was found.
have you considered that maybe it wasn't written by him at all and the NYPD officers so famous for falsifying evidences actually made that up so they could make a scape goat out of him?? also your assumption works only if you're violating his right to be presumed innocent and are hellbent on painting him as guilty before the trials even start

Final manifestations for Book 7?
I'm trying REALLY hard not to build up any solid expectations, because I wanna go in ~fresh~! they're already so far away from anything I thought would happen (not in a bad way, I'm just accepting that I'm on Miss Yana's Wild Ride at this point and we're seeing this thing through 'til the end, by gum). so it's nothing too major, but:
they've been handing new crying expressions out like candy lately, I want to see some delicious Malleus tears.
honestly I want everyone to cry buckets. their tears sustain me. the more Silver angst specifically I get the happier I am.
SILVER!!!! 👏 VANROUGE!!!! 👏
just let him have this. the poor boy's been through so much. let him have his big "I'm proud of you, son" moment with Lilia.
I'm 100% expecting Grim's arc (and probably whatever's going on with Crowley) to be its own episode, but a nice hook to leave us hanging on would be good!
a nice hook though, please, I don't think I can take another "Grim is attacking us! now wait eight months to find out what happens :)" cliffhanger...
some Meleanor? as a treat? just a little bit, a tiny quick flashback or something, please Twst I just, I just want to see her again. let her have a little ghost cameo like Dawnathan Knight got. Lilia and his kids are all having their big group hug or whatever and she can gently fade in to be all like

I recently saw a post on tiktok that talked about how Jason Todd fans are constantly ignoring Jason's actions and not recognizing that his ideology is inherently right wing. Ignoring the first point because I'm gonna be honest Jason is a fictional character and I don't have to preface my enjoyment of him with a thousand disclaimers about how he has done bad things before because no other fan of anti-heros in this fandom are expected to do that. It is so wild to me to single out Jason Todd as having an ideology that is inherently right wing when we are discussing the dudebro power fantasy central of comic books.
Like I'm sorry, but Batman isn't exactly the leftist dream either. He's a billionaire who spends his time fighting crime extra judiciously. You can look me in the eye and say that he's a good billionaire, but then it would be wild to single out Jason because he's supposed to be a noble gangster archetype. And if he can't be viewed as being a "good" gangster then I'm sorry there are no "good" billionaires.
It's also important to stress that Jason's ideology has never once been about killing everyone who does bad. It's about who we allow to suffer while we are trying to find the greater good in the ba guys and mass murderers the system lets out. Which I'd argue is a view that centers more so around how the poor and those trying to live there lives are hurt when the system fails.
And where has this idea that Jason Todd fans don't read his comic come from. I'm gonna be completly honest Jason doesn't have a single solo run outside of RHLD unless you count Task Force: Z and yet every Jason Todd fan I know has scoured comics to find even half a glipmse of him.

(If Cesare is dissatisfied that Micheletto isn't his brother instead of Juan) "Not exactly, because Cesare and Micheletto's relationship is more or less secret, hidden. They don't know too much about each other. Well, Micheletto has absolutely no grasp of what the rest of Cesare's life is, and Cesare is very respectful of Micheletto being so secretive about himself, and I don't think he really wants to know. It's not really a friendship, because there is an idea of hierarchy, but it's not master and slave, either. It's not boss and employee. It's something very complex. It's not equal, but there is a lot of trust. While with Juan, I think it all comes from a very deep place. His brother faces different struggles and is very naive, so Cesare pushes him by teaching him lessons. He also understands how hard it must be to do that, or at least he had good intentions towards him in the beginning, with some sort of really loving brotherly undertone under all of this hard teaching." — François Arnaud

the training montage in crossroads re-ignited a headcanon i had of geralt waking up and doing gymnastics, performing kickflips and mid-air spins around on a fencepost outside an hour before sunrise to ‘limber up,’ and bleary-eyed dandelion wrapping himself up in a blanket to be like "heyyy... what the hell are you doing 💖"
#if you're wondering what kind of moves he's doing he's standing on a fencepost and doing your typical flexibility stretches#but alternating between reps of stretches with kickflips from one post to the other#like ciri training in kaer morhen#i'm not going to lie witchers are cool but fandom ruined them a bit for me and now crossroads has given me that childlike wonder back#because fandom heard 'physical ability and stamina' and did you know what with it#but the agility and precision of witchers remain so underrated. as part of the deconstruction of the superhuman trope#geralt doesnt really show off as much in the books and does cool stuff only when needed but#like when (mentioned) he hit the rat in the darkness with his thrown fork... as a party trick#and killing renfri's men in the market at blaviken... and killing the scoia'tael on thanedd#and RUNNING ALONG THE BRIDGE on the battle of the bridge#and the nilfgaardians were amazed and they WERE AMAZED AS THEY DIED!!!!!!!!#and killing rience's mercenaries who didn't know who they were fighting so they were like hey what the fuck... what the fuck#i'm literally back to witcher 101 basics here. nothing interesting to contribute but like a little boy i am just smiling and saying#'dude geralt of rivia is soooo cool he can like fight a bunch of guys with his sword'#half of me wants to seek deeper themes and half of me is just like YOOO GERALT SO COOL !!#listen... there is a time to plant a time to reap#a time to analyze and a time to geek#i should probably just watch a bunch of ballet or best of gymnastics comps and i'll find what i'm looking for#also sorry CROSSROADS OF RAVENS SPOILERS artamon dying was a hilarious moment i know it was like oooh this will have consequences#but it was nice to have the evil antagonist get merked in the sme chapter as he's fucking introduced#and not even by mature experienced geralt but by some literal eighteen year-old who he tried pulling a fast one on#1) i was happy that sapkowski didn't drag it out terribly. this was humorous and refreshing after in season of storms#2) geralt almost riding off but having a feeling to go back... listen i know it's so cliche and it's giving lady of the lake chapter 4#where he eavesdrops in the caves under castle zubarran and just happens to hear stefan skellen reveal that vilgefortz was in castle stygga#but it also was satisfying to me because after reading the hussite trilogy#where reynevan (stupid and young man; like geralt here) DOES NOT LEARN after several. SEVERAL lessons#i was honestly worried for a second that we were going to get a reynevan moment. but no. because this is geralt and not reynevan#and seeing geralt develop critical thinking skills in real time was not only satisfying but a bit funny#and yes nostalgiabaiting me#like omggggg yesss his detective skills yesss that's so geralt of him

Why is it that JT antis/crits can never articulate what they find distasteful about him without exaggerating?! Literally saw earlier where someone said Jason psychologically tortured Mia in Seeing Red and killed hundreds of prisoners ~just serving their sentence~ in Batman and Robin.
Neither of those assertions are true.
Jason does kidnap Mia, so that entire sequence is under duress, but all they do is talk and fight a little. If you think having someone going "you just like me for real" wrt your trauma, pls see a therapist. Mia is an out and proud survivor; Jason, in his incredibly dysfunctional manner, was trying to relate to her on that level.
Did he do a good?! No, not rly.
But was that psychological torture?! Absolutely not.
Also, despite how horrifically DC's artists tend to draw Jason, he is, at most, 19 years old in that comic. And that's without taking into account the fact that he was dead for six months, comatose for a year, and then catatonic for another year on top of that.
And let's get into this prison poisoning in Batman and Robin. Because people seem to think Jason just did that for shits and giggles. And I mean, it's clear that that's what he wants you to think. However, he was provoked. Some of the people ~just serving their sentence~ tried to kill him first.
Was that an extreme reaction?! Yes, it most certainly was.
Was it unwarranted?! No, it absolutely was not.
What, was he supposed to roll over and just let these people get away with their murder attempts?! Get fucking real!!
I just... What is the fucking purpose of criticizing a character if you aren't going to *criticize the character*?! It literally just sounds like many of y'all realized any critique of Jason could easily apply to the Bats, at large, so you gotta make him evilpsychobad in order to make it stick. But y'all sound ridiculous.
In fact, you sound like the cops you keep accusing Jason of being.
You might want to fix that.

reading row chapter 54 again (fork spotted in kitchen etc) and this part is genuinely so brutal. like. renarin lost his mother, who he was very close to, at a young age, and was treated pretty poorly by dalinar – his only remaining parent – for the majority of his childhood/teen years. and it clearly means so much to him to see how hard dalinar is trying now, how he's making a real concerted effort to get to know renarin and be a better father – imagine how devastating it must be to finally build a relationship with a previously neglectful parent and truly experience having a loving and attentive father for the first time in your life, only to find out that he was the one who killed your mother. how do you come to terms with the fact that your mother died a horrific, painful death and your father, who you're only now finally getting to know as a real parent, was the one who made it happen?
and even the language he uses to describe it is so telling: "she hadn't lived" and "odium had seen her killed" are both technically true statements, but they're also very passive. he's not acknowledging the actual core of the issue here, which is that dalinar is the one who killed her. it wasn't intentional and he was being influenced by the thrill, but ultimately, he still did it. of course renarin can't look that fact directly in the face; it's not just that he would lose his father, it's that he's finally learned what it's like to actually have his father for the first time in his life and if he truly acknowledges how angry he is about his mother's death he'd lose him again

one of my lesser discussed grudges against the fandom police is the way in which they render interesting conversation in fandom borderline impossible due to the ripple effects of their rhetoric poisoning the ability to actually talk about characters in a complex way

The degree to which Davos and Brienne are going to become reluctant BFFs, because their lieges keep coming to them complaining about each other, is UNREAL
or, more from this fic that's slowly eating my life
~
Their journey to the Northern army's camp had revealed a great deal about Lady Stark and her lords and petty chieftains: their patronizing generosity, their gruff suspicion of outsiders, and above all their mind-boggling obstinacy. Ned and Lyanna had been much the same, from what he remembered, and Stannis had seen shades of it in Jon Snow, though couched more gently than he'd expected from a bastard. He'd imagined — insofar as he'd imagined her at all — that Lady Stark would be gentler still, her mother's line warming that chilled Northern blood.
He had been disastrously mistaken. It was a wonder only one Stark had survived, but it was already clear that she had gathered the entire share of Stark mulishness.
"I have conditions, Your Grace," said Lady Stark. "If this alliance is to succeed in retaking Winterfell, I feel it right that you hear them." She placed the parchment in her hand carefully on his table and stepped back, hands folded primly.
She had requested, and been granted, this conference shortly after Stannis's army had made camp alongside the Northern soldiers. Stannis's tent had barely been erected when she came to him with this parchment, her wolf, and a determined expression. He had thought he'd listened to her enough on the journey as she'd prattled away with Shireen, but he was in the mood to be permissive.
Reading through her list of demands, he could feel the headache building along his jaw and up through his skull. "Have you lost your mind?" he said, for the second time in a week to an unreasonable woman.
Melisandre had brushed his question aside, but Lady Stark was not made of such supple stuff; she stiffened and glowered at him. "That is a peculiar way to agree to my terms, Your Grace."
"Your terms are rather more than peculiar, my lady," he said, tossing the parchment back on the table.
In truth, the first one was not so peculiar: it said that should they regain the Keep, he would recognize Sansa Stark as Lady of Winterfell and Warden of the North in her own right. He would not pass her over in favor of some lesser Northern male relative, nor would he obligate her to marry and rule only as companion to her husband. Considering Stannis's own intention to ensure Shireen sat on the Iron Throne after his death, he could hardly begrudge her this.
Considering the other two stipulations, however, he felt very much inclined to begrudge her everything.
"Supposing your younger brothers turn up?" he asked, thrusting his chin at the parchment. "Or Jon Snow is legitimized?"
This question didn't faze her, he suspected because it was a question of logistics and protocol rather than a personal remark. "If Jon is made legitimate, I don't believe he would want Winterfell—"
"Duty is not a question of wanting, Lady Stark," he reminded her. "And the Lord Commander is—"
"The Lord Commander, as you say, is the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch," she retorted. "His life has already been pledged to the Wall. If he didn't abandon that cause in aid of my brother Robb, he won't abandon it now."
Stannis observed her. There was bitterness there, certainly, though less than he would have thought. Lady Stark clearly understood the ties that bound men to their duty, even if she did not like them.
"However," she continued, "Should any of my brothers wish to make a claim to Winterfell in my place, I won't stand against them." She paused for a moment, and added, "I have no wish to die at their hands out of misplaced pride."
Stannis clenched his jaw but let that go for the moment — it would be addressed soon enough. "You call me 'Your Grace,'" he said, tapping at the parchment, "Yet your second stipulation says that you will not bend the knee to me, even if I regain Winterfell for you."
"No, it says that I will not bend the knee to any claimant to the throne until they hold the majority of the kingdoms," she shot back. "The Lannisters hold the Crownlands, the Westerlands and the Reach at present. The Riverlands are still in chaos, the Vale has withdrawn from all alliances to sulk in their mountains, and both Dorne and the Iron Islands have declared for themselves, more or less. You can, at best, claim that the Stormlands still support you, though I've seen no evidence for it — they didn't march under your banner at first, did they?"
That was the second time she had brought up Renly, however obliquely. If she were trying to drive him mad, she couldn't go about it any better. "When I hold the North, my lady, I will have more land—"
"Setting aside the notion that it will be you alone who holds the North, you'll have more land and fewer men than any other region. If you wish to win against the Lannisters, you'll need more than mountains and glaciers fighting your battles. And if I wish to be Warden of the North, I can't keep the respect of my lords by swearing fealty to a man who has yet to earn it."
"I could have you burned for such talk," he said, getting to his feet and pouring himself some water, hoping it would ease the throbbing in his head.
"You don't burn nobles, you behead them," she replied cooly. "I should know. I was there when the Lannisters took my own father's head for supporting your claim to the Iron Throne. I have no intention of sharing his fate." She took a deep breath, and only then did he note that her hands had been clenched together, her right covering the balled-up fist of her left. "I won't take arms against you now or in the future, on that I give my word."
"And if I do have you beheaded?" he asked, putting the tin cup down before he crumpled it in his hand.
It seemed to amuse her. "Then my words will mean even less than they do now."
"They mean nothing, because you will not give them!" He pinched his nose and attempted to regain his composure. Surprisingly difficult, with this — child.
She regarded him for a moment. "You call me Lady Stark, Your Grace," she said, "but tell me, have you heard anyone else call me that?"
Stannis, thrown by the question, was forced to consider it. In truth, he had heard only Lady Sansa, though said with more reverence by her men and lords than he could ever recall being addressed himself. "You are Lady Stark."
"Not without Winterfell," she said, shaking her head. "It's more than just the home of the Starks, it is our…place in the world. We belong nowhere else. Just as there must always be a Stark at Winterfell, so too do we need Winterfell to truly be Starks." She gave him a pointed look. "Just as Your Grace needs the Iron Throne, and the fealty of all the Seven Kingdoms, to truly be king."
She was wrong, of course, but Stannis felt the same lurch in his belly whenever his footing slipped during a bout. "Perhaps your reticence has something to do with this last stipulation," he said instead, going back to the table and jabbing his finger at the third line. "Falsely accusing a king is treason."
"Is Lady Brienne falsely accusing you, Your Grace?" she asked, smooth as ice. Her hands were still clenched, he noted.
"I was nowhere near Renly's camp when he died," Stannis said, with perfect truth, even as he felt himself balanced on a knife's edge.
He had been nowhere near. He had woken up just before dawn with the lead weight of certainty in his belly, knowing what had happened — what the Red Woman had said must happen — and lying there, staring up at the tent's canvas, he had wept. Wept for the brothers he had loved and who had never loved him back. He would never know if Renly had had a hand in Robert's death; just as he would never know if he himself had had a hand in Renly's. Had he ordered Melisandre to kill him? Had he believed her when she said she could make such a thing come to pass? Davos had begged to tell him of what had happened in the cave that night, what monstrous thing the Red Woman had done to bring Renly's death about. Stannis had refused to hear it. Perhaps there was a sort of rough justice in facing his accuser now, the only one living who knew the truth.
"Lady Brienne has served me faithfully," said Lady Stark, "and my mother before me, at great cost to herself. I believe her testimony, Your Grace."
"Her testimony that I murdered my own brother."
Lady Stark regarded him steadily. "I will not insult either of you by declaring one more honorable than the other. But when I regain Winterfell, my duty as Warden of the North will be to adjudicate all such matters, and this falls under my purview. Even if you were crowned King of the Seven Kingdoms in the Red Keep itself, the North holds all persons, regardless of title, under its laws while they reside here."
"Renly didn't die in the North," was all he could manage to say.
"He died, Your Grace." Lady Stark looked almost pitying. "And for that, I'm sorry. I know what it is to lose your brothers. But on this point I will not waver."
"Is there any point on which you have?" he asked, curious.
She continued serenely. "Lady Brienne will be permitted to make her accusation publicly; how you respond to it is your affair, but if you prevail, you must give me your word now that she will not be held guilty of treason, nor will she be killed by any member of your party by any means." She put enough emphasis on the last two words to make her meaning plain.
"And if she prevails?" Stannis asked. "Your stipulations do not mention the outcome of the trial, only that it will take place." He smiled grimly. "Your father always said that he who passes the sentence should swing the sword, my lady. Will you behead me yourself?"
"I doubt either of us would find that a pleasant exercise, Your Grace," she said, her lip curling slightly. She didn't blanch, however; young as she was, she had seen worse. Had possibly done worse, if the rumors about the Purple Wedding were true. He'd not asked. "If you are found guilty, then you will ride south. If you win the support of the other kingdoms, the North will bend the knee to you. But you'll never come north of the Neck again. Does that satisfy?"
Stannis glanced down at the parchment again. There it all was, in black and white: the price he must pay for the North. The blasted girl had even provided a space for him to sign at the bottom.
"Not remotely," he said, but reached for his pen.

right so, I'm reading the atlas six at the moment and I'm getting near-ish to the end and my brain is about to explode from the amount of theories and just random feelings I have about this fucking book
(I genuinely don't know how much of a fandom there is out there for this series because I've avoided interacting with anything out of fear for spoilers. although kinda already fucked up on that one when I went looking for fanart and found out that my (maybe) favourite charcter dies, I just don't know how, when or why)
The point I'm at is when Libby screams(?)/gets kidnapped or something (or at least the room went weird and now she's probably MIA) and the other's have realised that someone got into the house.
My bets are on it being Ezra. Like why else would Tristan have randomly met him that one night and why was there that weird interlude chapter where Ezra was talking about starving with no context and then Atlas appears right at the end. And also Nico and Libby just had a little conversation about Ezra where she finally said that they had broken up (It feels weird because you'd probably expect that conversation to be between Libby and Tristan but, then again, Nico has some interest/hatred of Libby and Ezra's relationship. and also Libby repeated that they'd broken up even though her conversation with Nico had moved on already). My guess is that Ezra was one of the other options for the six being considered for initiation but obviously he didn't and then The Forum or some other rival society approached him and was like 'hey could you maybe try and get infomation out of your girlfriend about the society she's maybe going to be in' and he's like 'the fuck? sure okay' and they tell him about the fucked up stuff that the society does. So then he's helping the forum with this idea that he could save Libby from anything that could happen to her because ,as he keeps saying, she's his 'responsibility'. But then, because Libby keeps pushing him away and they had that fight on the christmas weekend he doesn't know what to do anymore. So then, Atlas approaches him being like you could still be an option to be initiated if you do this thing for me (Atlas is sus as fuck btw, more on this later) which is when Tristan and Ezra accidently meet and I remember Ezra saying something like 'I'm trying to decide something' (something like that). Is he trying to decide whether he should accept Atlas' offer (whatever that could be)? So now he's involved and it has to have something to do with Libby, like getting her back (in a good or bad way) or protecting her or even eliminating her?
All I know is, there is more to him than just being a side character for Libby's character development. I remeber in possibly Libby's first chapter that she said that part of the reason they got to know each other was because they had both suffered loss but she didn't go into much detail about what happened to Ezra. So that could be important as well.
Other than that my only other theory about him is that he's already part of the society, like probably in Dalton's class, which would have made him quite young when he was initiated but Dalton was also quite young then so it can make sense... maybe?
OH OH OH! This idea just came to me. What if the person that Ezra lost (I'm assuming it was a family member anyway or like his entire family) was, say, an older brother? who had been chosen to be one of the six (in Dalton's class) and he was the guy that Dalton killed...
so now Ezra hates the society for killing his brother and is trying to stop the same thing from happening to Libby but now that she's ended things with him it's made it all weird. Maybe if he kills her, he could get an opportunity to get his brother back?
(alternatively this could all be a load of utter shit and I've got it all completely wrong lol)
My other theory is about Atlas. Sus as fuck, as I have already said. The only person I trust, surrounding what they say and think about Atlas, is Callum. As much as I don't like him, I think he's dead on with what he's been telling Tristan about Atlas. That Atlas wants Callum dead and needs Tristan alive for his magical abilities.
Atlas, however, told either Parisa or Libby (I can't remember) that he didn't like or dislike any of them. (I'm now thinking he told Parisa this because they were talking telepathically and she said that it was harder to lie in thoughts which is why she believed what he was saying) So I'm thinking, he's an incredibly powerful telepath who's able to lie and is using that power to manipulate all of them. I've kinda lost my train of thought with this now so I may come back later and write something more. BUT I believe Callum.
Finally, who do I think will die?
Not Callum Not Tristan Not Nico (probably but there is like a 1% chance I'm wrong) Mostly likely not Parisa (there's still more she needs to discover I think, mostly to do with the fact that she still wants to explore Dalton's mind) Possibly Libby (BUT I don't think Nico would let that happen because I think they still need each other and I don't think Libby would let them kill Nico either so the only way one of them goes is that one of them will have to very dramatically and heartbreakingly turn on the other. I know that they 'hate' eachother but it's more like 'I hate you so much that I actually love you and can't live without you'. I can't decide if it's platonic or romantic or a secret third thing but I don't care I just need them to be alive. I also don't think Tristan is likely to let Libby die but also at the same time he's just failed to kill Callum, which was her suggestion so I'm slightly worried he's going to turn on her) More likely Reina (but mainly because I can't see it being more likely anyone else and I don't think the other's would be opposed to it, maybe Nico but not enough to not go through with it. Also they all know she's very powerful but also that she doesn't want to use her power, for a valid reason, and you can make the argument that they're supposed to choose the person that, essentially, the world can do without so if she's not going to use her power then what's the point?)
I don't want any of them to die though because (very very deep down for callum) I love them all so much
Okay I'm done now. I still have things I want to say but I've exhausted myself typing this. Might finish the book today but I have an exam tomorrow and don't want to be thinking about the ending whilst I'm trying to write essays on unrelated subjects. So, I'll probably finish it tomorow after the exam.
If you made it this far, well done. This probably made zero sense but oh well :)
(I am also very scared of going on any of these tags because I don't want spoilers so yeah)

ok but literally the worst thing spn did imo is the angels falling at the end of s8. I hated it so much. I hated it. I watched up to season TWELVE ONLY because I was hoping they would fix it but they didn't because the writers didn't even have a good idea for getting out of that situation so they just basically left it alone. It was horrible. Castiel you didn't deserve all of that, they used you so they could have a dramatic season finale and nothing else
