the stifling of your sobs worsened the more you dwelled on the disappointed looks of your professor after your group presentation this morning. you forced your groupmates to pick up their slack, but like all groupmates, their brains all tell them to shove all their work to you. you tried your hardest to do all the work and not argue anymore with them since they don't even know what they're doing, but you can only salvage your group so much. you sobbed louder as you hid underneath your blanket, hoping your roommate wouldn't come in and witness you weeping over something that you can't change already.

the door to your room opened, and you immediately tried to cover up the fact you've been crying by curling up in your bed–pulling the covers up to conceal your tears. the aroma of instant noodles with your favorite add-ons and spices filled the room as your boyfriend came in and sat down on your bed next to you. "i heard you weren't feeling well after that crap earlier, i'm sorry about that." he said as he handed you the cup of noodles he made for you; the steam coming from the food elicited more tears from you, not ones of sadness, but more like ones of pity.

you thanked him as he nodded and watched you eat up what he made for you. you choked out cries as you ate about how good it was, though still feeling utterly horrible about what transpired in class, but miguel didn't want you to keep thinking about that; he wanted to cheer you up, but it seemed food wouldn't be enough right now.

"c'mere," miguel said as he wrapped his arm around your shoulder and held you close. you leaned against him as he kissed the top of your head and rubbed your shoulder comfortingly. he asked you if you wanted to rewatch some episodes of your favorite show, even though he found that show corny and unrealistic, he was more than willing to watch with you. "you can sit on my lap while we watch, rant to me even while we're watching." he said as he ran his hand through your hair.

you sniffled at how comforting he was being towards the mess that was you right now. "but... you cooking for me is... it's too much already, really i'm..." you stammered, but miguel smiled at you and held you closer. "and i'll always wanna be too much for you. but in my opinion, it's never too much for you to just be comforted after a bad day. i love you, and i know you're struggling, so... let me take up some of your burdens and worries, yeah?" he said as he kissed your tear-stained cheek.

he was more than willing to do everything in his power, and even beyond that if he could, to make sure you'd be smiling in a few hours despite the bad stuff that happened today. he'd do this again and again for you, even if he doesn't seem like the type to do that, you'll always get this kind of sweet treatment from him. because no matter what, he's your boyfriend first, everything else that he is–snarky, cold, sarcastic–he'll set that ego and pride of his aside to see you smile again.

oh my goodness he is so proud of his girl

like obviously he knew she would graduate and leave, but still... it's such a big accomplishment that she made it through thirteen years of the american public school system

not only that, but she literally made it into one of her top five schools

even though it's far away

when she first got the acceptance letter, neytiri and him looked at each other and were just like "oh no," only because their baby girl would be so far away from them

when they went to visit the campus, they knew there was no way they could convince her to stay closer

didn't cry on the graduation day because he knew he had to stay positive for [y/n] since it was a big accomplishment ( plus neytiri was emotional enough for the both of them )

the day she moved out though... yikes !!

he was a wreck

suddenly he had this whole montage of the moment he first held her, dancing around the kitchen with her when she was a toddler, taking her on her first rollercoaster, her fifth grade graduation, taking pictures with her at her eighth grade dance, all of it crashed down in him at once

you know i'm about to rant about how emotional and stressful this mama bear was

she was so confusing because, while she dreaded the moment her daughter would leave them, she also wanted everything to be perfect

she wanted [y/n] to have the best senior night for sports / as the lacrosse team manager, the best senior prom, the best lady birthday while living with them, the best senior year

it was what her daughter deserved

the graduation party was amazing, but behind the scenes it was extremely stressful

lo'ak thinks he's traumatized from the entire week leading up to it

but it still ended up perfect with appearances from family members from across the country

but after that graduation, it was the final moments of her enjoying the presence of her eldest child

the summer was interesting because, while [y/n] wanted to spend the last moments with her friends, with fali...

but she knew she couldn't do that

so she cherished the moments that she did have !!

they had some really epic board game nights over the summer

it was really dangerous and competitive though

but, for some weird reason, by the time they reached the date in which [y/n] moved out

she was sad, sure, but she was also so extremely excited for her daughter to adventure a world beyond her own, so excited for her daughter to make her name known

she can't wait to see what her daughter does in the world

part of him doesn't really... realize that she's gonna leave

like he knows, but he doesn't know

for the majority of the year, he just treats it like the year before

there's nothing to make it weird or a big deal, it's just another normal year

it's only the end, as they near graduation, that he starts to panic

over the course of the last few years, he started making a box of memories being like, "oh, i'll give these to her when she graduates. that's going to be in like, a million years!" and alas...

as they get closer and closer to the moment in which he has to give her the box, he gets sad staring at it

sometimes he'll just sit there and look through, at one point thinking, "maybe i should just keep it for myself..."

but, one night at a pre-season lacrosse practice, he sees [y/n] sprinting towards him and fali

it's when she screams that she made it into her dream school that he knows he has to give it to her

( he'll never forget that night )

graduation is sad, but it's more happy than it tearworthy

they have the entire summer ahead of them, anyway! why ruin it now!

over the summer, they spend a good amount of time together, continuing to take their therapy drives as they scream music with the windows down

all neteyam can think is, "i'll miss this."

and all [y/n] can think is, "i'll miss him."

move out day is super rough

originally, neteyam was gonna fight tears and hold them in... but when he saw his big sister's sad eyes... the water works were heavy that day

nevertheless, it all just makes for an amazing time when she visits

aw man, this one is gonna be super bittersweet

they're so close, especially being the two oldest girls - they especially bonded in their childhood because they had to deal with neteyam together, and then eventually lo'ak

tuk came later, of course, but that was a good bit into their childhood

but, either way, she grew up looking up to her big sister

she wanted to be just like her

and eventually, when neteyam and kiri finally reached freshman year, they finally were able to get past the "annoying sibling" stage and just be best friends

sure, they hung out with different groups of people, but they were just happy with each other

always

and that's the only part that actually mattered to either of them

kiri isn't big on being emotional

but every time, over the past year, that kiri thought of her big sister leaving

she would get extremely sad

she refused to listen to any sort of bittersweet song with her sister ( ex. rivers and roads, landslide, vienna, etc. )

she keeps trying to be excited for [y/n] but she just keeps getting sad

kiri was eerily silent on the day of graduation, she honestly only really talked to tuk the whole day

when her big sister confronted her that night, kiri burst into tears in [y/n]'s arms and just spewed everything out

and that was when [y/n] promised, despite how far they were, despite her not being at home anymore

she would always pick up the phone when kiri called and she would not hesitate to book a flight home if kiri needed it

she was here for her baby siblings, even when she was gone

and that made kiri feel the tiniest bit better

although she was still a complete sobbing mess on move-out day, but that was more bittersweet than it was sad

lo'ak didn't know he was so attached to his big sister until she started applying to colleges

he began to keep tabs, noting exactly where she wanted to go, her chances of going to far away school, all that stuff

of course he wanted her to go to her dream school, but he also panicked

what if she was in danger one day? what if she was dying and she had two hours left to live and they missed the time slot because of airport traffic?

his sister assured that would never happen, but lo'ak still had an entire plan just in case it did

it was an extremely odd thing to have his sister leave after being in high school with her for only one year

it was gonna feel particularly emptier next year when she wasn't teasing him every time he hung out with tsireya at school

it was gonna be extremely sad when he didn't get anymore doordash or uber eats

but the graduation dinner she picked made it worth it, he supposes

she chose some really good food

he was sad, but he was just as excited for his time to leave so he couldn't blame her

he was more worried about just not seeing her

she's always been a constant in his life, so it's really weird when she suddenly... stops

they still keep their snapchat streak even after she leaves

Hey everyone! I hit 600 followers last night! I didn't really start this blog with any intention to gain a following or anything like that, it mostly started as a way for me to have an outlet for all my hyperfixation rant essays LMAO but I'm really over the moon to see how many of you have been reading Rekindled and enjoying it <3 I wasn't really sure if I wanted to work on any sort of LO content beyond just the panel edits when I started out here. I barely used Tumblr prior to this, but it seemed like a good fit after finding and lurking in some of the other blogs and communities (shoutout to @antiloreolympus , @minthe-lover , @minthesupremacy, @ngloreolympus , @lore-olympus-reimagined and @nymphsupremacy , y'all grabbed me by the collar and made me your bitch with your great takes and art 😤) The panel edits were one thing, of course, but starting up a whole rewrite/redraw project has been a whole other endeavor - having you all along for the ride with your support and lovely comments each week has made it such a joy to do <3

First of all I hope I'm not overstepping by doing this on your blog and for staying off anon because I'm frankly too old to be hiding behind the little gray icon dude I've been doing the fandom thing for close to 15 years (God I'm old).

As someone who came back to tumblr (hadn't opened tumblr in like 6 years) exclusively to keep an eye on the TZP tag because he's the first actor I have a genuine interest in years, not only because he's the most beautiful man I've ever seen but also because he's engaging and funny and charismatic and because I think he could really go places if he was allowed good roles, actors can be naturally talented but most actors really get their chops from working with good directors and actively learning on set from their peers.

(As a disclaimer, I love Nick he's great and I hope his career thrives.)

Which is why the fact that people who constantly compare his career to Nick's is incredibly belittling, as your anons pointed out Taylor isn't white and that cuts the roles he can auditioned for by like 80%, the fact of the matter is TZP is always going to have a hard time finding roles because to most casting directors casting a white man is going to be easier than having to make space for a POC.

I can only assume that most of the vitriol from Nick's (who is an absolutely lovely dude) fans comes from plain old jealousy, TZP is out here hustling, attending events, etc. While Nick is not, how this is somehow Taylor's fault in their eyes? I don't even want to guess. The truth of the matter is that Taylor has to do all those things because he runs the risk of fading, he needs the networking and the connections if he wants to continue his career which is a sad truth.

On the topic of fashion, I'm only a casual observer but my god is it hard in the fashion world. Making a foothold in an industry that is filled with old brands set in their ways and where nepotism is rampant, more so than Hollywood, is almost impossible so that fact that Taylor has is beyond impressive. A career in fashion could even be more lucrative for him than an acting career which is unpredictable, a lot of people forget fashion is not just the models and the designer but all the behind the scene people that run the fashion houses, so saying Taylor is just a fashion boy? Sure, but fashion would be an amazing career path to follow, specially because Taylor believes deeply in sustainable fashion, he could really make a difference working in a behind the scenes role.

Ngl I've been giggling about the anon saying that Taylor isn't filming anything right now because he said he had a movie coming up, as if saying that somehow makes Taylor a liar. Here's the thing about that no one is filming anything right now, award season just started, Hollywood is too busy making nice with each other to make movies or shows right now, half the battle of winning awards is kissing the ass of the voters, as someone who enjoys the fashion of award season the sheer amount of events for the next month or so is wild, the stars are going to be very busy looking pretty.

No point to this rant really, just as someone who chooses to lurk around here and other places, is really starting to grind on my gears that some of Nick's fans will put down Taylor for no really reason while I've never seen this behavior from a Taylor towards Nick.

Unfortunately this comparison has been going on since the movie came out and it seems like there can never be a fandom in the world without toxic elements that only cause problems for the other costar and other fans 🥴

I want to specify that obviously it's not everyone, there are a lot of people who support both of them OR they mainly support Nick but they show respect to Taylor as it should be even if they don't follow him beyond rwrb. But there are people who are terrified there is someone other than Nick out there who is appreciated and loved and continuing to tear Taylor down like that only shows how privileged they are for not seeing the reality and the struggle that poc have to do, and Taylor specifically in this moment, in that industry.

Nick doesn't even need this attitude, which he would never tolerate and doesn't bring him anything good but who knows if they'll ever understand.

By the way how sad and insensitive it is after seeing a movie like rwrb and the people who worked on it and seeing how much heart they put into it to keep saying that Nick is the only good one who works and will works and he is done and over rwrb and he doesn't need that movie when even Aneesh some days ago in her stories said she hasn't had any roles yet and is it so difficult for her to find a job?

And they use the white actor (with immense talent, who deserves everything, let's clarify that again) against people who don't know when they will find a new place for them? so horrible.

You came up on my recommended feed at the perfect time bc I have Artem brainrot rn AND YOUR ANALYZATION OF ARTEM’S CARDS ARE FANTASTIC! I’m one of the few players that avoids most CN server spoilers, and I’ve been abstaining from pulling most cards so I can pull for 3rd anni(which now I’m kinda questioning if I should LOL), so I missed out on a TON of content for all of the male leads. BUT, from the very few cards I had pulled this past yr, I did notice an odd shift in Artem’s personality. Although, I wasn’t too sure if it was just me being dumb or if it was a real thing that was happening. And after reading some of your posts I kinda want to re-read Artem’s Second Anni Card again bc I was so excited for the artwork from that event, that I didn’t pay much attention to the story LOL However, now that I’ve seen what you’ve said and what many other Artem fans have said, I’m sure my feelings weren’t wrong. And now I’m sad 😢

Artem was my favorite bc his relationship with Rosa felt the healthiest and was built on respecting each other’s boundaries, learning how to set boundaries, and working as a team, while also having a more traditional framework of a male leadership role(which I’m extremely fond of). Artem never restricted Rosa from spreading her wings as his work partner or as his life partner, he simply asked if he could come along beside her where ever she wanted to go. AND LIKE HIS ORIGINAL PERSONAL STORY IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THIS BEHAVIOR! Rosa makes a reckless decision to go get evidence, without Artem, for a the domestic violence case they were working on and almost gets hurt in the process. After that, Artem scolds Rosa for being reckless and for not taking better care of herself. And Rosa doesn’t take it lying down either! They equally argue and get their grievances out in the open, feel bad about later, and apologize. (THE COMMUNICATION IS SO REAL 😩) FURTHERMORE! This incident leads them to learning and understanding how differently they work as lawyers. Artem learns that Rosa is a lot more personal with her clients and handles her cases with an empathetic approach, while he works more pragmatically, so through this case they learn to work to each other’s strengths as partners, covering for what the other person lacks. And the chapters this incident took place in solidified my growing love for Artem bc unlike Luke or Vyn(I’m not sure about Marius bc admittedly I haven’t read his original personal story 😅), Artem doesn’t hinder Rosa by being overprotective like Luke or push her beyond her capacities like Vyn tried to do in his original personal story. Artem allows a natural course of growth to occur in Rosa, while being a hedge of protection for Rosa BUT ONLY when she seems to REALLY need it, and the same can be said for Rosa towards Artem.

i have to say, i entirely agree with all of this. and i mean ALL OF IT. his personal stories 2, 3, and 4 are my absolute favorites of his and gosh that's like. prime artem to me, i think. your ask reminded me of some meta i read such a long while ago about his second personal story (link can be found here, it's SUCH a good read)

i think a huge issue is that artem originally always felt like the antithesis to your typical daddy dom boss character. when you start playing tot, appearances wise, he looks and even comes across as one. but these initial appearances are quickly shattered.

he is absolutely inexperienced with interpersonal relationships. he fumbles the bag CONSTANTLY with rosa. he's terrible at holding conversation, he's constantly apologizing for being boring. he needs his own fucking boss to wingman (haha. wing) for him. he blushes if mc looks at him the wrong way. he's kinda strange. but he's earnest and genuine. he respects rosa's boundaries. he makes mistakes, but learns from them. he gives rosa time to think over her feelings for him so she can still say no to him if she changes her mind.

it's the contrast between this and his initial appearance that makes him interesting. what is extremely bizarre with artem's recent writing is it feels like someone who only read artem's introduction scene got some vague pointers and was like oh. your typical daddy dom boss guy. okay yeah i can write this. and then they did. which . defeats the whole entire point of what made artem compelling in the first place. he was compelling BECAUSE he subverted this trope. by just making him play the trope straight, you remove any and all intrigue from his character.

by not building off of older cards, you abandon all of the plot lines he had set up. they undid any angst in his stories. they dropped his issues with his parents. they downplayed neils impact on his life. he doesn't even grieve for him anymore. he doesnt even think about him most of the time. what happened to entwined fate? praying for neil's safety? what about neil being his father figure? neil potentially betraying the nxx? are we just going to ignore that now so we can watch artem be an insane freak who just apparently woke up with the skills of a sex god, forgot all of the lessons he learned, and doesnt care about consent anymore?

god, now IM ranting.... regardless. youre so right. i hear artem's newest cards are good so im praying those rumors are true : ((

EDIT: SORRY I MEANT TO TALK ABOUT HIS THIRD ANNIVERSARY CARD!!! it's not as bad as his second anniversary card. i know the bar is in hell but it's something. it's pretty contrived in the grand scheme of things (like why are they moving into a house...?) and has some weird moments, but is ultimately not as bad as it could have been in the slightest. i'd say its biggest crime is being boring as sin. holy fuck. i put that shit on 2x speed and i still found myself wanting to fast forward. like nothing happens at all???? it's so bizarre HAHA

sorry but as a tag lurker I just wanna rant about the s*dcarmys I keep seeing in the richonne tag for a second because uhhhh it's weird and kinda racist (why is there a photoset of jeremy and ayo at the emmys tagged as a richonne you guys are so fucking weird).

anyways I saw a post talking about sydcarmy comparing it to richonne ([sarcasm] oh gee I wonder why) that was like, "sydcarmy proves that if twd aired today, ppl would insist rick and michonne were just platonic" and wow. what an absolutely wild revisionist take implying richonne was accepted like that lmao. like, as someone who was there back in 2014-16 watching in real time, I can tell you that people did very much deny richonne was going to happen DESPITE it being a canon romantic relationship in the source material the show was based on. and they DID claim this was because the show was "clearly platonic" and a million and one other things that was clearly just racism in disguise. myself and a lot of richonne shippers of colour especially were treated like fucking pariahs for years.

I absolutely think ships between white and Black people are written off in fandom at large due to anti-Blackness and misogynoir and all of them share that in common.....HOWEVER, I really don't think sydcarmy and richonne are comparable beyond this and any insisting they are feels kinda racist in that it's clear a lot of people just see a relationship between a white dude and Black woman and think they're the same. Because other than them being a ship that involves a white man and a Black woman, everything else is sooo different.

Like..... The biggest difference being "syd and carmy are platonic" is not just something racist ppl in fandom say (and I'm not discounting that), but it's also something the actors and creators of the Bear have repeatedly said. This was absolutely not the case with richonne lmao. If anything it was the opposite, the actors and writers loved teasing that richonne would happen and how much they wanted it to happen and even directly challenged fans who said otherwise. Like richonne was basically a sure thing because of the source material and people still denied it because of racism. I literally didn't think richonne would happen because I was afraid the racism in the fandom would impact the outcome of the show.

I honestly think it's so fucking weird to compare richonne to sydcarmy when there is a non-racist argument for sydcarmy being platonic that's supported by the people making the bear - which there literally wasn't for richonne. and I think ppl equivocating them are really weird.

aww thank you. i have actually briefly mentioned being apl-spec before, so dw about that aspect, it's not as a secret as much as it's just. not mentioned that much. i don't really have any specific label beyond "apl-spec" though, and i'm also more likely to call myself "apl-spec" over "aplatonic". the same thing applies to me being ace-spec too, the only aspec label i don't primarily use the "-spec" form of is my aromanticism, and i'm not even sure why, it's just how i label myself. sorry that was a rant and only like half of that was even related to your ask, but ig it just made me think lol

Hi Gina! How are you? I don't know if you remember me: a couple of months ago I sent you an ask telling you I was done with Louis and you answered me in your tags... Anyway, karma hit me hard 😂 because my cousin (she is 17) begged me to go with her and a friend to see Louis in Lubjana on thursday - her older brother should have been the chaperon, but he got covid, so they were suddenly in a desperate need for a driver and a responsible adult to go with them, and of course that was me! So I saw Louis live. For the first time. Right now. The irony....... Anyway, the show was really good, I still love his voice so much, but it is officially confirmed: I feel like I don't know him anymore. I'm pretty sure that that sweet, sweet boy is still there, because I still see glimps of him, but it's almost like now he felt ashamed of being sweet, and "soft". Almost overcompensating it, if it makes sense. And I don't understand why I feel like this. Because of course it's not on him, it's on me, I am feeling this, I KNOW I don't actually know him, I know, but it's a gut feeling that I can't shake off. As usual, sorry for the ranting, must be hard mothering an entire fandom 😂 Now I'm gonna go back into hibernation waiting for Harry to do anything but riding a bike 😅 Lots of love 🧡

Hi, darling. I think it's really hard to fall in love with a celebrity who we'll never know beyond the facade they show us and be able to grow with them as their image changes. I've noticed this for many people with Harry. Fewer speak openly about it when it comes to Louis, but it happens with him, too. At the end of the day, they're celebrities, not personal friends, and you have every right to decide that who they show themselves to be today isn't for you. I think it takes some maturity not to blame the celebrity and to acknowledge that you really don't know them at all.

Beyond how much Fire Force has flat-out ruined a lot of Soul Eater for me--

(But that's on me: I can debate whether Fire Force in fact ruined Soul Eater, but for me, yeah, Fire Force ruined a lot about what I enjoyed about Soul Eater, albeit not really ruined the initial experience reading and watching it, and certainly not the fandom experience I had years ago.)

--beyond how it ruined Soul Eater, I just see this monkey's paw problem coming. And I have ranted so much about this monkey's paw problem that I really hate getting into it again, because I have nothing new to say that I haven't said already on this same blog repeatedly. Y'all wanted a reboot or a continuation so badly? Well, enjoy seeing the worst parts of the manga finally getting animated (which, again, looks worse after Fire Force, given that now nothing stands in the way of Ohkubo being horny-in-animation because no editor and no animation studio stopped him with Fire Force). And enjoy the lackluster tie-in to Fire Force, a manga that single-handedly took so much of the creativity of Soul Eater and flushed it down the toilet to be a shoddy prequel that erases so many more fascinating ways you could have set up the Soul Eater world but didn't.

"It was our world all along!" Oh, fuck off.

Like, I have wanted to not post this, and I make sure not to tag this stuff in the #SoulEater tag on social media, because who wants someone raining on their parade. But I just can't stand this fixation on getting that reboot, because Fire Force just soured me on this entire experience.

I don't want this to sound like nostalgia rose-tinted goggles: "Ugh, you like Fire Force? I'm a person of culture, I enjoy classic works--like 2003's Soul Eater." That'd be pretty obnoxious, and I hope I'd be a little better than that. I can admit what didn't work in Soul Eater.

The original anime had its own flaws. For example, the Arachnophobia vs DWMA arc divides its attention so much between Maka, Kid, and Black Star so that, while Black Star's narrative feels like it makes real progress, it is diluted by how all of these stories are spread out. And Soul in the anime acts unnecessarily dickish towards Maka, whereas in the corresponding manga chapters he was supporting Maka without being intrusive. And of course Maka suddenly manifesting weapon powers and winning with the punch of courage, even if this many years later we can debate the merits to these choices, were divisive then and still remain controversial because of how abrupt it all feels.

And it's not as if Fire Force created flaws that weren't already there in the original Soul Eater and NOT mangas, in particular how the plots for both series sometimes feel they are just spinning their wheels without progressing characterization or plot, especially around the Sky Whale chapter and pretty much all of NOT.

But it is hard for me to get as excited as other people are over just two pieces of recent news that they are so desperate to read as proof a reboot is coming when, no, even if this is testing the waters for a reboot, the first goal is to just make more money off of our nostalgia for Soul Eater.

Yes, BONES coming out with 15th anniversary merchandise surprised me--but that is primarily just to generate new art they can put cheaply onto cheap raw materials (shirts and maybe tote bags and keychains?) and secondarily to test the waters for a reboot.

Yes, I am really surprised the companies involved negotiated to put Soul Eater stuff into a dull-looking Fire Force mobile game (...that was mean, but, jeez, I thought Fire Force looked uniform and boring already, making it a mobile game looks even worse--at least BONES and other companies made more varied artwork for the Bungo Stray Dogs game, and that is a simple drag-and-aim marble shooter, much less complicated gameplay than the Fire Force game). Sure, maybe that is testing the waters for a reboot, or winking at the audience to anticipate what they already know is coming at the end of the Fire Force anime. But this seems like crass "let's tap into people's Soul Eater nostalgia to get more downloads for our game."

And that's what really pisses me off about all of this. Don't get me wrong, this news has gotten a lot of attention on the shitty bird app, and I expect the shitty bird app has a bigger imprint online than Tumblr does. But I can go through Tumblr every day and see people adding more and more Soul Eater content. I see a fandom that, even if the frequency of posts is less, is still thriving. I don't see that with Fire Force.

I see this news--"OMG, new merch and a collaboration for the mobile game!"--as these flashes-in-the-pan that spur a ton of reactions to trend on the shitty bird app--then, crickets, things die down, no one talks about it for months. It's not a consistent engagement. Maybe that works from an economic standpoint: you sell a lot of merch all at once, then things die off, whereas fandom work is ongoing but also not making the creators any more money. But it is also why I find Soul Eater more endearing: at least people keep making stuff based on it, I rarely come across Fire Force stuff (and it's not like I don't look for it: I may despise how that series ended, but I still want to see how fan creators mostly improve upon what is wrong with that series).

So, TL, DR: I don't dispute that these two pieces of news are to test the waters to see whether an audience would be into a reboot. I find it surprising to get these both at the same time. I'm not disputing whether this can or can't lead to a reboot being announced. But Jesus Christ, calm down, this is just content to get you to buy more stuff, and it's content to prop up a lackluster Fire Force, and it just reinforces how much I hate how it seems like Fire Force depended so much on Soul Eater for nostalgia factor instead of standing on its own as a story.

the quality for genshin x reader fics has seriously fucking declined within the past year or so. some authors that are making it big today wouldn’t have had a winter’s chance in hell to gain popularity back when people really had to try and when writing was an art form. this is who the post is about. It makes sense when ppl are starting out and they aren't the best at writing, especially within your first couple of weeks. I'm not really aiming to drag those people with this rant.

unfortunately, i’ve had the displeasure of reading the most god-awful shit with my own two eyes. it takes every fiber of my being to not claw my corneas out. there’s no point in even discussing who these authors are, though, because they’re popular and have their interactions and their readers just eat that shit up! it’s flabbergasting! 

the truth of the matter is that, fortunately, i find comfort in knowing that i am not the only author/fic reader that has noticed this heavy decline in quality. i don’t covet the popularity these so-called ‘authors’ have garnered, no; i find peace in knowing that i have the interactions i do and that my readers can thoroughly enjoy my works without wincing every minute or so. for every three mid fics there is one saving grace in any given tag, and i commend those authors that truly dedicate themselves to producing a beautiful piece. those authors are what inspire me to keep going and try as hard as i do with what i write. 

i suppose this is a combination of thoughts i’ve been having for months now; see this(1),  this(2),  this(3),  this(4), and this(5) and this(6). 

i have to admit that it really is a privilege to be able to say that something like this is the issue that is currently irritating me the most (truly, it's the only thing irritating me at all). there are people dying and starving out there that would call me an ingrate for complaining about awful quality of content on tumblr dot com and archive of our own dot org. they’re probably right, but this is my shitpost blog and i can post literally whatever the fuck i want to on here anyways. by all means, dont agree with me! no one will force you to do such a thing, and im not interested in starting any drama w anyone. it's beyond me and i have better things to do. if this post makes you upset and foam at the mouth, ask yourself why that is.

One can tell the difference between organic storytelling and "rammed in for a buck." SOMEHOW this lead into a conversation about how the '90s X-Men comics had, in terms of gay characters, a pair of brothers "who were into each other" ??? (Not something I'm sure of, and not an anti-gay statement, just a bit of comics-trivia). Cue me going: "Okay, I have a RANT about Trigun-fandom!" My guy starts laughing. "Plantcest!" He's into Trigun, too, I got him into it, but he's not into the online creative fandom currently. (He wrote some fanfiction back in OG fandom back in the day, some of it gifts to me, but he doesn't have the time to do fanfiction anymore). I was *sigh* "It was always there, [mutual enemy] was into it for a bit," bringing back some bad memories that he might have forgotten because [mutual enemy] was more into and belligerent about another ship, but I said now, with Stampede? Given some of the weird metaphyscial stuff between Vash and Knives there? "Some fans are taking it as mutual. If you go to Archive of our Own, it's the second most popular ship. So many Explicit-rated fics and some of them are just... (beyond just incest) just... super weird." Cue me describing some...interesting fetish tags. And how I have read a few out of curiosity. It's wild. Sort of warning him off of most of Ao3 for the fandom because he's more kink-averse than I am (and I'm the one who actually openly identifies as an asexual!) I'm kind of going... "Oh, good lord, the Plantcest in this fandom!" *and how I have the tag blocked.* For those viewing this blog / post... I do warn, I am very against Plantcest / Twincest (at least as a mutual thing / kink). It's a gives me the heebie jeebies thing. I am not going to harass people over it or call people terrible for liking it. It's just... not my thing. I've got tags blocked on here. It's just... I get a little annoyed that I have to filter a lot on Ao3 to find stories I will like because it's the second most popular ship. My complaint isn't that it exists so much as it's like my complaint about how Mexican-American restaurants want to put guac on everything when we don't like guac and we have to specify "no guac."

hey so idk if you remember but that one aita blorbo post you reblogged with the professor guy and the crystal where you called him a coward in the tags was mine and I just wanted to say that when I saw your tags it made me so happy because I've been working on the worldbuilding and plot development for that for four years now (the eldritch horror stuff is a newer development after I realized I was wasting so much story potential by just making it a fancy rock) and your tags made me feel very proud of myself because it showed that somebody appreciated it and thought it was cool.

the vibes overall were just VERY cool, it really felt like the asker was kind of subconsciously aware that he's in over his head and just kind of defaulted to the Dean's opinion on everything. unreliable narration and shaky conviction are ALSO things that i love in my stories!! and wow that worldbuilding and plot is VERY cool. moral atrocities in the name of pursuit of power & reckoning with supernatural forces much greater than the lives of any individual are so so awesome. beloved tropes and themes ✨

also don't be sorry for "dumping" something like this!! it always makes me super happy when i get excited about something someone made and then it's actually really meaningful to them because it's like wow!!! i got to read an awesome thing AND my commentary on it was encouraging to the original author??? like that's just awesome twice !!!

genuinely i am very invested in this story, it seems VERY cool and i would be absolutely interested to see how everything ends up!! the professor/asker seemed kind of deeply pathetic to me in a hubristic puppet sort of way so i am especially curious about whether he would end up breaking free of all that and deciding to do what's right, or meeting some kind of unfortunate end at the hands of the path he's passively chosen to follow!!

as for cave johnson, i did find this clip of all his voicelines in what i'm pretty sure is chronological order; the minute and a half between timestamps 8:51 to 10:22 should be pretty representative! includes his famous "lemon rant" too (though cw for aggressive yelling). basically the hubris is off the charts and after killing countless test subjects in dangerous experiments he ended up bankrupting his company, poisoning himself with moon rock dust, and becoming fatally ill as a result.

(entirely understandable not to play it yourself, it also took me ages to get through; it it is not a particularly easy game even if you have access to it!)

Sorry I have to rant, I just saw post on reddit about how Gege hates his main trio and has completely destroyed them(I'm paraphrasing) and I get it everyone has their own opinions and they can complain etc etc but the whole thing was so dumb!😭 Literally stupid reasons only because they have made so many assumptions about how the story would/should go. These last two chapters have caused such a mayhem in the fandom. People are impatient, quick to make predictions, and get upset when they things don't happen their way. And that's one thing I really don't understand and absolutely hate, how fans of a media think that they know how the story should go better than the creator itself, especially if it's something like a manga which is released on a chapter by chapter basis. Only two chapters have been out! There is more to come! Don't be hasty to judge and please have some patience! Hell! even the shippers are mad I don't know if you ship fushiita, sukuita or sukufushi but it's really chaotic right now. Fans seem to think Yuuji's only purpose was being a vessel(which is a pretty gross way to think about him in my opinion) and now he's useless. Btw thanks for the earlier ask you answered about this because I was also upset about it but that had more to do with 'megumi is the perfect vessel actually' and not Sukuna being separated from Yuuji, anyway you really helped me deal and understand it. Thank you for that! Your blog feels like a safe haven for Yuuji and Kenjaku fans. They're both so underrated and completely overshadowed by other flashier characters (megumi, Yuuta and getou respectively) I cannot tell you how happy I was that I've found like-minded people like you. They're both my faves and I feel so sad that they're ignored by most of the fandom especially Kenny who's only misfortune is being in gojou's ex's ex body.

It is quite a shame that Kenjaku is so unpopular. Honestly don't know why? They have the looks, the smarts, the connection to the main character (although somehow that often gets overlooked beyond the milf jokes), they drive the entire plot and have an entertaining personality. But most of the time people don't even notice that. They're just Geto 2.0.... Or a grumpy conservative old man. No idea where that characterization came from or why it's so prevalent, but especially in fanfics I see it a lot.

Yuuji is very popular, but he's often turned into Pink Naruto, despite them being very different besides some standard shonen tropes. Naruto without Kurama is unthinkable (well until Boruto happened, but that was after Naruto's main development was already over), so the same must apply to Yuuji, right? If Yuuji doesn't have Sukuna, what's the point?

Also, I don't know what it is with this fandom and going off the rails every break week. Like clockwork the "Yuuta is the real mc because he stronk and his laser beam go pew" take comes back every time and people make up the wildest stuff. I'm surprised by how many genuinely think Yuuji is dead dead. Done. Story over I guess. Megumi hasn't gotten any points, so that's clearly not the case yet. If not, he obviously has to throw around some Infinity-level technique to "prove" he's the mc. They also already see Hana at the bottom of Megumi-Sukuna's stomach I guess and/or Yuuji as Angel's new host. Somehow...how would she even get to him so fast? And sure, switch one manipulative 1000 yo sorcerer for another...what a fun and unique concept. At this point I'm more looking forward to the next leaks because it will give people something meaningful to talk about than the story (not true, I really want to know what happens next, but these takes are very annoying).

I haven't heard that Gege hates the main trio before, but I certainly see it paraded around a lot in regards to Yuuji, even though Gege clearly says in the fanbook that that comment was simply about how he is hard to write and they want to make sure to do him justice. Of course an author can get a bit exasperated, but that doesn't mean they hate the character. If that was the case, Gege wouldn't put this much thought into Yuuji.

In regards to the trio, with how jjk works and everything that's been happening, there was no way they would stay together (assuming that's what people take issue with). It's basically a tradition. Sashisu, Nanami & Haibara, Maki's group, the Kyoto gang, they all got separated, some even died. Honestly, it would be pretty unrealistic for the Tokyo trio to stay together. And as you said, things just started to pick up, much can happen. Megumi is probably gonna resurface for at least a little bit before he dies - or not who knows. Nobara's situation is a bit iffy, but she was never as important as Megumi or Maki so eh. If she comes back, I need her to be properly integrated into the story. She has no connection to the current plot, any of the main villains or adds to the lore. Her coming back with some new strong technique would be nice, but what's her function gonna be besides moral support for Yuuji and killing some less important enemies? So far I don't feel like she needs to come back for parts of the plot to progress. If she doesn't, it wouldn't be a huge loss. Therefore, if it happens, I need some character exploration for her. I still think it would be neat if her grandma somehow shows up and does...idk something, but she sounds awesome (knew from the start not to trust Jujutsu Tech, best woman) I want to know more about her.

I don't really ship any combination of Yuuji-Sukuna-Megumi, so I don't know what happened on their side. Fanartists have put out some very dramatic, traumatic and bloody ItaFushi art recently, which I appreciate, but that's all I know. After ch 212 I got the impression shippers liked the new development for the angst. Didn't know that changed, but I'm really not that in touch with that side of the fandom. Either way, Yuuji not being a vessel anymore sounds more like it would be beneficial for them (separate bodies and all) unless you're really into the possession trope.

They work so well? Like slightly awkward slightly boy failure tough guy hockey player who hasn’t really explored how well of a player he is outside of his codependent relationships because his character was never truly explored and his existence beyond being a defenseman/bash brother/mysterious kid who throws bullies into trash bags was never really established (Fulton) and a extremely talented hockey player who’s socially awkward as well and very reserved whose spent his entire life working under the pressure and expectations, to be great and to be the best player, who’s been dealt cards multiple times that haven’t been in his favor, when all he wants to do is just play hockey with the Ducks (Adam). I need more of them please AO3 Mighty Ducks writers!
