you've got mail ✉ ! hi anonn, omg ilysm i apologies that my fics are so shortt but i swear i'm trying to improve on making my fics more long!! also i was supposed to make all chars but i got too lazy and i wouldn't be able to finish it immediately anyways.

♡ HINATA SHŌYŌ because of hinata's monster energy and scarily long stamina, which means that he would be the type of guy who loves going to active dates, something that requires doing physical activities in a fun way.

he's the type of guy who would take you on places/dates like amusement parks, indoor trampoline parks, bike rides, or just regular old volleyball. even if you make mistakes receiving the ball, he doesn't mind it at all, as long he gets to play his favorite sport he's contented.

but everyone knows that no one can keep up with his rampant energy.

shoyo grabs your wrist and pulls you to the large entrance of the amusement park as he ran at the speed of light, making you almost trample over your own foot.

now, finally reaching the entrance, you let out short puffs and pants while the hand that hinata didn't hold was on your knee. while you were breathing heavily, you heard a loud excited shriek coming from the orange-haired boy.

"ahhh!! yes, we're finally here!!" he exclaims loudly, while his eyes sparkled brightly with excitement.

"y-yea.. " you spoke, tired still in your voice. hinata then turns to you with an eager expression that turned into a more concerned one after seeing you panting state.

"[name] are you okay??" hinata questions as he helps you get up by pulling your wrist.

after helping you get back on your feet, you spoke. "yea, i just kinda got worn out cause you ran so dang fast.."

your comment made shoyo rub the back of his neck, chuckling awkwardly while doing so. "oh haha.. sorry, i get carried away sometimes, especially when i'm excited!" You chortled at him and said to him that it was all fine as you fixed your clothes as you got up.

"well, i think i'm ready now!" you announced, having a cheery smile displayed across your face. and once your words reached his ears, he excitedly pulled you. he was about to start sprinting, but his feet halted after getting reminded about what happened earlier, he lets out an awkward giggle, and he then walked with you further at the entrance of the amusement park.

and so, once you and hinata went inside the main part of the park, you both were ecstatic when you heard the sounds of rollercoasters scraping and moving along its tracks, and the loud screams of joy that came from it.

you both then immediately start going on rides. first, you both got on a rollercoaster, nothin' special, just a warmup. afterward, hinata pointed at a ship that was swaying side to side, each sway getting higher and higher as it went.

it's intimidating, you know that, but hinata reassured he'll hold you tightly, and you and him will sit at the middle seats. with his affirmation, you not so bravely marched up to the ride with him.

god, were you not ever more scared than you thought you would be. you were screaming your lungs out every time you felt your stomach disappeared when the ship would descend from it's highest point, while hinata was screaming just as loud as you but, it wasn't because that he was scared, it was because he was actually having fun without fear!

you chanted out prayers as the ride continued on for a few minutes, and when the ride did end, you were left in a shriveled state. your legs wobbled when you took a step out of the ship, and your boyfriend was panting in a joyous manner.

you whip your head towards the ominous ride, and your eyes glared at it as if it was a real person that you had hatred on. "i will never ride you again, you piece of ship." (yes ik it's a damn pun) you angrily mumbled to yourself, swearing that you will never, and never! come back to that ride again.

hinata never didn't noticed your annoyed expression to the already ridden ship. instead, he was deciding which rides he'd want to go to next.

glaring at the ship, you were unexpectedly pulled by your wrist once again, and of course, it was hinata, and of course, you were running at an insane speed. you tried to keep your still-wobbling legs with his pace while you got a gist of what will be happening for the next hours.

and you were damn right. hinata had pulled you up to all kinds of rides that made you exhausted every time you got off of them, but the cycle repeats, and he pulls you up to another one.

the cycle repeats until the sun is just a few away from reaching the horizon.

you tiredly walked up to a bench and plopped on it as if it was your own bed while hinata went off to buy some drinks. heavy pants fell from your mouth, the rides you went on have your energy drained. you swore that it was still morning when you and him came here and now it's almost dusk??! you sighed at the thought that time would easily slip by by just riding a few attractions.

while you were resting on the bench, hinata came back with yours and his drinks in his hand. as he went up to you, he immediately noticed your tired demeanor. he stretched out his arm to you and gave you the drink. you took it and almost drank it empty to how thirsty you were.

hinata looked at you as he drank his, gulping with worry and guilt as he swallowed down the liquid.

"s-shoyo.. are we done yet?" you asked, hoping that he would say yes. surprisingly, but expectedly, he says the opposite of what you hoped for.

"nope!" he replies as he gulps the last drop of his drink before facing you. "we have one moree thing to go on, but i swear it won't be like the other ones! so pleaseee let's go onn it??" he pleads to you, making you a bit shocked cause you never mentioned that you were tired or whatsoever.

but of course, who wouldn't say no when the hinata puts up his pleading eyes that will always manage to convince you? you let out a heavy sigh as you threw your empty can to a nearby trash bin.

"fine i guess, but i'd better now be like the other ones." you stated, to which he happily nodded and pulled your wrist, but now in a more gentle manner in contrast than .

a few minutes of walking later, you and him stopped at a ferris wheel. hinata turns to you with an excited look on his face, and you face him with a delighted expression.

you both then line up for the ride, which surprisingly to for only a short while to get through. hinata helps you get in the cart, and he lets out a giggle as he enters it.

the ride then starts to move at a slow pace. your cart started at the bottom, and you both rambled about random topics as your cart starts to reach its peak.

"yea and it was so crazy! also, when it was break time, i saw kageyama buying usual milk, and as he was drinking it, he suddenly coughed, and milk was spitted out everywhere!" he says, his arms animatedly describing every verb mentioned in his sentence.

you cackled at hinata's random storytelling, and he laughs too. his laughter then slowly falters into a smile.

"i know that today was a doozy, so uh, sorry for dragging you around." he scratches the back of his neck as he nervously laughs. you shook your head in reply, indicating it was fine.

"no-no it's okay! you know damn well i'm used to it by now." you say, having a gentle smile on your lips.

and just as hinata was about to speak, a sudden loud pop was heard from outside your cart. sprinkles of colorful light displayed on the dark colored sky, and more sparkles and bursts of light followed. hinata gasps, and you do too. it's almost seems like everything was intentional, that your cart was just at the peak height of the ferris wheel and the fireworks were lit at the right moment.

anyways, you both were shocked at the unexpected events, and you both turned to each others faces after pushing it through the carts' window.

"woah, the fireworks look really pretty!" you exclaimed, gawking at the sight of explosive colorful lights that were being lit up one by one in the air.

hinata nodded at your comment before a smug expression crept up to his face, he slowly turns his head to you and coughs up to get your attention, and as soon as he gets your attention he smugly looks at you and opens his mouth.

"sure these fireworks may seem pretty but, they aren't as beautiful as you~" hinata says in an odd almost poetic tone, he then awaits for your reaction, expecting there would be one but, he only met is your silence and the muffled popping sounds of fireworks.

you looked at him dumbfounded for a few minutes, trying to process what he said. and when you eventually managed to process it, you laughed at him! it sounded very much cringe and cliché at the same time.

you surely felt bad when you just suddenly laughed at him, but you couldn't help it at all! hinata then immediately retorts about you laughing at him, but you just continue to laugh, making him feel embarrassed.

the fireworks fizzled and popped into the background, as you and him shared a wonderful time talking and laughing on and on inside the cart.

sure the date didn't go so well, in your part at least, but at the end of the day, you without doubt had a great time with your very-oh-so-hyper-of-a-boyfriend.

What are your writing strengths? i take particular pride in my settings! somebody on ao3 told me last week that i have nice turns of phrase, too, and i am proud of those too

What are your writing weaknesses? i have never once said anything in six words when i could say them in six hundred million billion instead

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? obviously i've experimented in various projects, but i am fundamentally kind of lazy and prefer to sprinkle in a few words here and there instead of spending the time to learn about another language's grammar structure

Hey, I actually don't know if you've ever answered the question I'm going to ask (I'm like 90% sure you did lol), but you're very active on Tumblr, so I couldn't find an updated direct response 😅 - have you ever considered to post more often on ao3, not just one chapter for each work you're currently posting? From my understanding, all JJK and Marvel works you have on a current schedule are finished? And don't get me wrong - of course you have life and I don't mean you SHOULD post everything all at once, but as a fic writer myself - I do not have a patience to sit on my works for long! Like I need to share my obsession I have with certain ships ASAP. For example, your Shibuya Swap fic - someone already picked on that too - will take 2 years to post! That's insane, I don't know if I would like my own stuff in 2 years enough to not feel embarrassed about it and delete, and you will be coming back to it on a monthly basis for 2 years at best, 2.5 at worst, if something will not change the schedule by that time.

Or could it be, that those works aren't actually *finished* it's just that you have a general idea or "drafts" how will it start, progress and end?

I really admire your consistency though, but sometimes can't help myself, but think "Man, I wish you'd post *that* fic more often, it's SO good!" Or post like one fic, just 3-5 chapters of it in a month or sum. But alas, I will restrain myself from begging on my knees in the ao3 comments, because I can understand how annoying it can get, FAST (I dealt with certain people there, too).

I have answered a few versions of this question before, twice in relation to JJK and at least once in relation to MCU. They're all somewhere in this tag (link only works in browsers), and the former two will be more recent...but well, that tag has 127 pages of results and Tumblr search sucks balls; even I can't find my posts most of the time, so I definitely don't expect others to. As for stuff you've asked that's not covered in that answer—

My works are all finished, not just drafts. The "plot bunnies" I talk about are outlines of varying detail, but the fics I'm posting to Ao3 as well as the fics I've posted in previous WIP Wednesday installments are all complete. They need editing, but my first drafts are essentially my final drafts. I proofread to catch typos and grammar errors and to generally polish the phrasing. My day job is editing, which means I'm extremely lazy about editing my leisure writing, but I manage a decent pass.

Regarding how I feel about my work years down the line: I've more or less settled into my writing style. It's still changing and growing, and I enjoy experiments and challenges, but the base quality is at a level I'm content with in terms of both prose and mechanical elements. I'm not embarrassed by anything I've written after 2018, and I don't really see that changing. I will always see the flaws prominently, both objective and subjective ones, but I'll also see the strengths. The older fics (2014–2018) are of significantly poorer quality as well as clumsily executed in many, many ways, but I'm still proud of my ideas and absolutely delighted by how they still entertain so many people. Regardless of my personal feelings toward my writing at a given time, I won't delete my fics.

As for patience, I am indeed patient 🤣. Well, for a year or so, I've been posting snippets from whatever I'm currently working on as WIP Wednesday posts, so I am actively sharing the pieces that I'm working on, but I'm pretty comfortable with sitting on the full stories for months or even years. It just doesn't bother me.

The only issue with how I build a backlog is that once I lose interest in the ship/fandom, my posting slows down, and I get 100 times lazier about editing—to the point I'll likely post the rest of my MCU and Bleach works all raw and dirty. One of the reasons I'm posting as much as I do for JJK is that I'd like to avoid a similar fate in this fandom. Fool's errand with how my inspiration and writing function, but hey, no harm in trying.

And, in line with the post I've linked above, even if I had fewer fics on the roster, my pace would remain a chapter a month per fic. Let's say I suddenly stop writing and also whittle my backlog down to only 2 fics: That won't mean I'll post 3 chapters each for those 2 fics every month; I'll still only post twice a month in total—one chapter from each fic.

As long as no one's being rude or entitled (I've seen some asinine takes about prewritten fics being posted slowly), I consider people wanting more of specific stories as a compliment! However, you'll have to be patient right along with me 😂

And that's a wonderful threat; I look forward to it 🥰

2023 Year-End Fic Round Up

Words written (published or not, WIPs totally count too!):  Published on AO3 as of 2023, I have 128,421. But now that we've stepped a bit into 2024 and updated a few fics, that number has changed haha.

On Tumblr, there are several ficlets I did not bother to keep track of.

Smut scenes written (if applicable): I have mostly written sexually implied scenes in several of my fics. I've written 5 explicitly sexual scenes/fics.

A Lazy Winter Morning is my favorite inmyveryownopinion

New things I tried: Literally everything. Guess that's a pro to being new to writing in the year

Fic I spent the most time on: Kiss Me, Kill Me. It's not a popular fic, but it is one that I had the most fun on. It challenged me to write in ways I didn't think I could. I'm quite proud of it and has become a favorite of mine.

Fic I spent the least time on: My Hands, Your Bones. Let the mind wander off to a sad drabble and bust this one out pretty smoothly. Shy of 500 words, it's a wee baby fic.

While it may be a fic I spent the least time on, I still love and reread it frequently.

Favourite thing I wrote: Besides Kiss Me, Kill Me? Probably The Taste of Your Care and Say It.

I became such Ryu/Kuvira crack trash and I love this for me.

I'm this close to not letting go of Say It and expanding on it. Fingers crossed.

Favourite thing I read: Sooo many things! All of my moots are so talented and their stories are incredible. I love you all so much

Writing goals for next year:

Finish my WIPs. I've got that 2nd chapter of my 5+1 gathering dust in my drive I wrote months ago but have not edited

There's a fic I started on here a while back I want to see to completion. Turns out I have to write it first 😦 Now ain't that sumthin?

Push myself to writing things that are more out there. I think that's part of why I liked Kiss Me, Kill Me. It was very much out of my comfort zone and was where I could think differently.

Aside from writing for the OTPs, there are a lot of rare pairs and crack ships I want to try writing. Keeps the brain sparkly.

It's a toss-up between The Ghost in These Halls and Our Endless Numbered Days. The first one is just... depressed Anthony never ever getting comfort (hurt no comfort eyyyyyy 😂😭), and the second one is... Seb revenge killing someone in front of his boyfriend soooOOOOO... not a good look Seb!!!

I have loads of happy endings!!! I swear!!!!!

......I don't think I can pick one. I still like simi. And I like Anthony & Benedict, and Anthony/Benedict too, but more in the way that I ignore that they're brothers. A bit like shipping JB/LT, except I'm too lazy to learn enough about them to write them. (Tbh idek if I like them because I know nothing about them skjfngkfjngk) But also they're not as enticing as Anthony and Benedict's personalities. So like, it's kinda like, I have the knowledge that they're not actually brothers, and then just loving their dynamic.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I ALWAYS HAVE HOPE THAT I WILL FINISH MY WIPS

Though, the a&b modern AU fic (benedict the artist, i.e. the one where Anthony loves his brother's art from day one and becomes his biggest supporter (and makes him do his GCSE Art assignments for him)) has kinda stalled because I am reluctant to kill Edmund. Shockingly. But anyway I'm mentioning this because I still haven't gotten an ending for it. But then again I've hardly thought about it because I've been soooo distracted with a/b fic

16. What are your writing strengths?

It's kinda weird; when I started writing I got praised for my dialogue; nowadays I get praised for my descriptions. Does my dialogue suck now?! skjfgnkfjgnk

But the real answer is: writing action, like, ~this happens, then this, then... etc

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Getting into a character's head/the other character's head/trying to figure out what they think of some ~thing happening/trying to figure out what they know without my own knowledge interfering 😭

Don't do it if it's not obvious what it means, or if you don't immediately explain it. By the time I see it in the a/n I'm not scrolling back up

C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will (be nice) Oof, I have so many for Ben, haha. But my least favorite is definitely Ben and GWash. I don't dig pseudo-i.ncest ships as a general rule of thumb, and the way the fandom has Ben constantly r**** by his superiors really, REALLY bugs me. But since the prompt said to "be nice," I'm just going to leave it at that lol.

R - A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships You mean literally ALL my ships? lmao I've always been drawn to rarepairs, save for my a.nime days, so I've often jokingly said I should go back to that JUST so I can get some dang fanfiction/fan art in my corner. Anyway, I didn't actually ship Ben with anyone when I watched the first time around -- but then fic experimentation and RP sucked me in. Basing it off of AO3 stats, Ben/Philomena is my "ship no one else ships" since there's zero fanfiction for it. I'd write it myself, but I'm too lazy and pressed for time lately. My other rarepairs have at least one fic, though the rest are mine LOL.

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything) I don't bother getting into fandom arguments, so no, I'm not going to die defending anything lol, but if asked, I'll certainly give my opinions on certain topics (and you can find plenty of my deadset headcanons under my "my stoofs" and "meta" tags). I will say that I disagree with 98% of what the fandom says about Ben. The only thing I nod and agree with is that Ben is a high-strung "horse girl" with a praise k.ink lol. Everything else, I just turn a blind eye to cuz I'll get annoyed. Whenever we develop characters our own way, I think we can't help but think "no, WRONG" cuz the character becomes our "baby."

Always. I appreciate readers and their thoughts and the fact that they took the time to say something makes me smile so I always return with my own response! Granted occasionally I'm blindsided by criticism and it's harder to know how to respond

6. what’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Probably my Nutcracker Prince retelling story which had criticism as aforementioned in the previous question and because 1 I didn't know the trope the commenter spoke about and 2 because they were and still are the only one to comment I have lost some confidence in wanting to share that story as openly as I have in the past.

I have angsty fics tho I just thought of that one first. One of my Frankenstein one shots got pretty depressing too. I'm all about angst most of the time despite giving happy endings most often in my larger stories lol

7. do you write crossovers?

Yeah for one shots. Most of mine are quite old though I don't do crossovers very often anymore

8. have you ever received hate on a fic?

Unfortunately. I have been called passive aggressive for asking for reviews after which they tore apart the chapter I'd released. I've had someone accuse me of writing something merely for shock value and in the process also possibly offend a marginalized community. I've had someone call me out for using "inappropriate language" for the disabled community. All of the comments were points of consideration but the way they were given to me shocked me and hit my self esteem a bit.

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?

Not really though perhaps in the future I may try again. My Daughter of Death story in particular had a NSFW chapter that I released alongside a more SFW one.

God I hope not.

Great at dialogue and character feelings and motivations I'd say. I also like to make scenarios make plausible sense so I try to write fanfiction as close to canon as possible which prevents me sometimes from being confident in writing characters that someone else has made

I'm not strong with always describing setting honestly lol

I'll do it and mostly when it feels strong to put it in and/or when it's easy for the audience to understand the context of what's being said

Hi I was just wondering, I know you almost exclusively as a coldflash person, but I'm curious if there are any other ships you really like and if you'd have any interest in writing for them in the future?

I’d be happy to write more coldwave. One issue for me with that ship is that it’s pretty much got to be established relationship if I go with their canon ages / situations, because if I’m shipping them, I can pretty much only see them as already partners in canon. Which is tough for me because I’m way less likely to write established-relationship stuff if I’m writing a long fic, because I love to write beginnings, but if I write their past, I already know where it has to lead if I want to work with canon, and so much about it already. So I feel like unless I write a total AU, most of what I can write, with respect to my own preferred style, will be a lot shorter than the CF stuff I come up with. Unless I go full AU, which I’ve never done, so I don’t yet know how I’d feel about it. I like working with canon a lot, but I also know that at some point, you just gotta toss it out the window...

I’d write more coldflashwave too lol, and flashwave. I promised someone a Cisco/Wally fic that I’d like to get around to at some point, though I can’t imagine it being much longer than 10k at most.

I fell in love with Lisa/Iris so I’d consider writing more of that. And goldenvibe too. Just... more Lisa in almost every ship lol.

I’d also write flashvibe if I felt the right idea catch for it. It’s a bit harder for me to know how to write that dynamic and how I would work with / diverge from canon, and I feel that Barry’s always going to be a bit selfish with Cisco? Which is a theme I’d definitely have to explore if I wrote it, so I could navigate and undo it, really. But yeah, bffs to lovers? Would be a bit tough but I like the pairing. (Also like westallenvibe or whatever the ship is called by a long poly ship fic would be way harder for me haha).

I’d consider writing atomwave because I like the ship, but I’m disappointed that after the cold gun was taken apart, Mick and Ray pretty much stopped interacting in Legends? They were supposed to be a pair, according to Ray himself, and Ray just ditched Mick once he became friends with Nate and I’m sour over it.

But overall, I don’t have any immediate plans for any of these ships, especially for really long stuff? I have to feel pretty connected to the pairing or the idea for a really long fic. I love a lot of ships and read for a lot of ships that I don’t write for, for the record :) I legit have a tag “i am shipping trash”....

What do you call each other: Levi likes my name best, love if he's feeling cuddly, angel when he's reminding me how much I mean to him, brat if I'm annoying him. I use his name out in public, call him sweetheart when by ourselves, captain to mess with him, handsome if he's feeling down on himself.

Who confessed first: Levi did, totally by accident. It started with a simple "I like you" one day when we were hanging out together, and with stuttering and blushing cheeks he tried to revise it when he thought maybe I didn't feel the same. Turned into "I think you're beautiful. What I mean is...!" So I helped him out and told him his blush is the cutest thing I've ever seen, and he stood there stunned going "what's that mean?" **rolls eyes** "I like you too, Cap!" Have to spell it out for him!

Who kissed who: I did. Took a couple weeks. We were literally talking about it and he said he's never really been sure when physical affection is okay, and said I'd have to help him, when it was okay with me, of course. So I showed him that it was more than okay. He liked that.

How long you have been together: 3 years now. Friends first for a time before, got to know each other and 'dated' for a couple months before he brought up making it official. He's always nervous about doing things too early. Sometimes it drives me mad but I want him to be okay initiating things.

Are you affectionate: Hand holding in public is usually it. By ourselves this man is the biggest cuddle bug, don't let him fool you. Literally will whine if I get up to be productive, and then dare turn me down if I seek him out when he's busy. But he really likes kisses, so guess who always wins :) Lazy mornings in bed and couch cuddles are our favs.

Living together/married: Living together almost a year. Thrown out ideas of marriage, like what we would want or where we'd honeymoon. It's fun to talk about. Sometimes if I stay up late with him he'll actually sneak in a random question like "what kind of flowers would you like?" He might be saving my answers. Starting to wonder if he should plan a proposal or just up and ask :)

Kids: Right now we are cat parents. Aren't opposed to kids. Adoption is something we both think about, but can't figure out how to bring up to each other yet. But it's close to both of our hearts considering how Levi grew up.

What your friend group looks like: Levi introduced me to Miche, Hange and Erwin. Jean, Connie and Sasha are my main crew, even if they knew Levi first.

How you each get along with your friends: I get along with his friends great, and they are now my friends. We all have game nights together and Levi rolls his eyes when we come up with stupid answers and laugh sometimes, but we catch him smiling too. I call Hange just to talk sometimes. Levi...tolerates my friends. He doesn't mind Jean by himself since he can act mature, but add Connie and Sasha to the mix and he's out. At least, tries to be! But if one of us is feeling down we're usually at our house for late night snacks and movies. Levi can't avoid it.

Night in or night out: We like staying in way more. Either ordering takeout or helping each other in the kitchen. A quiet evening in, in comfy clothes please.

Your favorite date day/night: My cheesy answer is anytime we're together is my favorite, even just grocery shopping :D Though once in a while we dress up fancy and take in a theater show. Turns out we really like musicals! Who knew?? Also, mystery dinners! You know, where you have to find out who killed who while you eat and the actors put on a show around you. There's not much interaction involved on our part, so Levi doesn't mind, and he's really good at solving the clues and guessing correctly!

How do I feel about this character?

Look.  Robin has been my Summoner Support character since the day the system launched.  He’s maxed out on dragonflowers at 15.  I sacrificed a 5-star exclusive dagger with a high-rarity and very potent A passive to him over any other possible unit I could have given it to.  I have written just shy of 500k words of Awakening fanfiction in which Robin is a central figure in every story. 

I kind of love Robin a lot.  That may, in fact, be an understatement for my feelings.

Who do I ship this character with romantically?

Theoretically I could ship just about anyone with Robin (with a few exceptions *coughFrederickcough*) but my big ones are Chrom (naturally) and Sumia!  Those two are the ones I most enjoy seeing Robin with since I think they play off one another in really enjoyable ways -- and it’s even better when it’s all three of them together!

Who is my brOTP for this character?

Lissa.  I LOVE Robin and Lissa as best friends and confidantes who can tease each other but will always, always have each other’s backs.  Robin and Henry being super tight as siblings is another favorite dynamic, Robin and Sully is right up there with Robin and Lissa, and when I’m not shipping them Robin and Sumia as best book buddies is near and dear to my heart.  Also Gaius, Libra, Panne, and Kellam -- I love Robin and Kellam bonding so much it does my heart good (which is why so many of these relationships are, in fact, integral to Future Built).

What’s my Unpopular Opinion™ about this character?

oh boy I have a million of these haha but the biggest one that really is an unpopular opinion is that Robin is proud of their Plegian heritage and would never EVER forsake it.  I’ve seen a not insignificant amount of fanart that puts Robin into clothing that’s clearly Ylissean in cut, style, and/or pattern, and this drives me up the wall because Robin is canonically one of our very few characters of Plegian heritage, someone who goes around throughout the entire game in a coat that bears the literal emblem of Grima in the eye-patterned sleeves -- something that’s preserved in their Grandmaster class, no less, rather than quietly done away with.  That coat is clearly important to them, and deep down -- even with all their memories buried out of direct reach -- I think their cultural heritage as a Plegian is of the utmost importance to them, such that they would only go without some show or sign or it if they were forced to do so. 

Basically, in my personal opinion, Robin should always have Plegian touches in whatever they wear but ESPECIALLY if it’s otherwise Ylissean in appearance.  Erasing Robin’s Plegian heritage is really gross to me personally, and funny enough, even IntSys didn’t do that for once, so fandom should really have no excuse.

What’s one thing I wish would have happened with this character in canon?

For Robin?  Either meeting their mom should she still be alive, or at least getting back their memories.  It does make sense that Robin started the game as an amnesiac because it let us learn through them, and made a lot of the revelations really pack a punch -- but after a certain point?  I really, really wish that Robin’s memories would have come back to them so that we could find out more of who they were before and what their experiences had been.  Even before a full return of those memories, they could have done simple things, stuff like reactions based on muscle memory or reflexive training that surprise them sometimes, or stated feelings of deja vu -- but later in the game (and supports) I really wish they would have give us something that tells us more about their life; what would be especially nice is if those returning memories involve Grimleal rituals or teachings, because I think it would have been really powerful to have someone we love and care for so much (as our player avatar) shining a better light on the much-maligned faith of Ylisse’s neighboring nation.

I’m very, very biased about that, though.

and BONUS: Grima time

How do I feel about this character? 

I’m pretty sure that at one point, if you searched up the #grima tag, mine was one of the top blogs that came up (though I’ve been getting lazy and tagging less by character lately so I’ve fallen out of there).  I’m also pretty sure that most of the people following me ended up here because of all the Grima content I started pouring out when the first one dropped in Heroes.  Grima is one of those characters who I write about exhaustively and who subtly manages to play a role in most of my Awakening fic, including the ones where they don’t physically appear (I call those Grima Sightings and frankly I would love it if people tried to spot them). 

...I think Grima has just taken over a part of my brain and to be perfectly honest I’m okay with that.

Who do I ship this character with romantically? 

Emmeryn.  That’s it.  That’s the only character I have ever or frankly will ever ship Grima with because that was already something that came out of left field I literally cannot imagine anyone else managing to spark the same reaction a second time.

Who is my brOTP for this character? 

Robin, honestly.  I love the idea of Robin and Grima interactions where the two end up becoming close as friends and confidantes, regardless of the situation.  Is it kind of heartbreaking when it’s the whole “Grima’s in control and Robin’s in the backseat” situation?  Undoubtedly, but it’s also really moving to consider that they might learn how to work together and help each other and work toward a shared purpose. 

And also Grima getting parenting advice from Robin in Heroes during the early days of the creche is A+++ in my opinion.

What’s my Unpopular Opinion™ about this character? 

Aside from the idea that Grima is in fact the most parental of dragons and broods in the literal chicken sense or my giant conspiracy theory that Grima came to the past to do the same thing Lucina did (avert the ruined future)?  It’s probably that Grima is not an instigator of conflict or chaos: they’re antisocial and would prefer to distance themselves for the sake of having some peace and quiet rather than getting dragged into yet more conflict based on human preconceptions or judgments based on appearance. 

Fandom at large loves to play Grima as unrelenting evil and constantly in competition with the Awakening folks (especially the Exalted lineage) but...that doesn’t make any sense to me personally?  Grima hasn’t really asked for anything that’s happened to them: they’ve been used and abused by humanity by their own admission, and Validar is just the latest in the line to do the same, causing unspeakable harm for the sole purpose of raising Grima to destroy the world at his own bidding.  Yeah, maybe Grima doesn’t have the best feelings toward the Exalted Lineage, but also why would Grima be the one picking the fight?  If you mess with Grima the Fell Dragon will step up (Vengeful Fighter is their innate B passive in Heroes, quite likely for a reason), but I really don’t see them going out of their way to cause trouble.  They just want to be left in peace, but humans really don’t seem to get that.  Yes, the fanart can be funny, but it also rings false to me, because I really think Grima would just flat-out ignore the Exalted lineage unless they make the confrontation, at which point Grima won’t hold back.

What’s one thing I wish would have happened with this character in canon? 

First of all I really do wish we could have seen a peaceful resolution with Grima rather than having to destroy them, especially considering that the Fell Dragon really didn’t seem all that interested in hurting anybody even after raising the dragon form (see the aforementioned conspiracy theory).  Grima has been hurt so many times throughout their life that I think it would have been deeply meaningful if we could have reached out in an attempt at understanding, to have come to a non-violent resolution, and found peace without someone needing to die for once.  When Grima purposefully abstains from nuking the group that poses a threat to their life upon resurrecting their impossibly huge and powerful dragon form and instead flies out over the ocean -- so far they need Naga herself to teleport them -- it kind of says a lot about how much Grima really wants to fight (answer: they clearly don’t).

Other than that, though?  Just...give us more of Grima in general.  Tell us more about their history, especially the thousand years between their emergence from Thabes Labyrinth and their fall at the hands of the First Exalt.  I want to know more of that history, I want to see how they treated the humans that flocked to them, even knowing that those same humans would eventually break Grima’s spirit.  We just have so few crumbs about Grima, I want more than anything to get a meal instead.

3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? On AO3, only Luca, but I wrote a few Harry Potter fanfics on FF.Net way back in the day (long ago enough that I'm pretty sure they've all been purged by now, thank god. I'm sure I'd die of retroactive embarrassment if I were to read them now.)

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Since I only have three published at the moment, that would be all of them, I suppose, though none of the numbers are very impressive compared to the rest of y'all's. 🙃 In order, though, they'd be:

You're Worth Keeping Around (189; the first one I ever posted, heavily inspired by one particular song on Kenna's Alberto playlist)

Look Ahead, Look Behind (64; YWKA from Luca's perspective, kind of. There's a lot in there that wasn't in the first one. I just thought it would be interesting to explore how different people interpret the same information.)

That's How It Sleeps (49; short, spooky one-shot; is it a spoiler to say the 'it' in question is metaphorical?)

You can see from those titles that I'm one of those people who gets 99% of her inspiration from music.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes, I try to respond to all of them! A lot of times, I won't respond right away because I tend to maybe definitely get a little too excited when people say nice things and need some time to come up with a more measured, chill response, or maybe it was a really kind, insightful comment and I want to put the same level of thoughtfulness into my response. There are a few that I think got away from me in terms of it took me a long time to respond to, and then I was stuck in that "well, is it better to send a response now, weeks later, or just let it go?" But I really do try to respond to all of them. People took the time to read my story and then go write out a comment, and I want to let them know I've heard them and appreciated what they had to say. (There have actually been a couple that influenced some additions to the story later on, and I wanted them to know.)

6. What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending? None of them- I can't do angsty endings. I do sometimes wish I was more angsty because I feel like it might make my writing "capital-B" Better if I dove deeper and spent more time on the "we're all broken and happy endings are for suckers" line, but like… This is my escapism here, folks. There are enough heartbreaking endings to deal with in the real world. Writing escapist nonsense about these gay fish is one of my coping mechanisms.

7. Do you write crossovers? Nah, not really my jam. I did once write a crossover between Harry Potter and my middle school for a creative writing assignment in 7th grade, though… easily the most ridiculous thing I think I've ever come up with.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic? Not hate, but someone did go comment on an old one months after it was completed to tell me that I used a lazy plot device.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I haven't, but I've thought about it. I have a scene kind of mapped out for the fic I'm working on now, I'm just not sure I have the skills necessary to do it well (and I don't necessarily want it to be shoehorned in there like "and now, a word from our sponsors: Banging™"). There are some steamy scenes in the first two I've written, though, but the scenes either cut out right before things really kick off or pick up right after they've finished.

12. What's your all time favorite ship? It's hard to say, because my brain has been so thoroughly taken over by Luberto since June. I was quite an ardent supporter of Ron/Hermione (were they eventually given the name Romione? Not really a fan of that, tbh) and Wolfstar back when I was a teenager, though.

13. What was the first fandom you wrote for? This should come as no surprise if you've made it this far, but Harry Potter.

14. What's your favorite fic that you've written? Eeee, I don't know. Bits and pieces of both of my long ones, honestly? I just absolutely love the Epilogue to Alberto's fic (it's just absolutely ridiculous fluff, but it makes me smile.) I actually really like Luca's flashbacks in his fic, specifically his memory of their breakup and then his embarrassing memory when Giulia tries to set him up on a date later on. I would need to go back and re-read both of them in their entirety back to back to decide which I like better over all, though. I like them both for different reasons. I also really love the first chapter of the fic I'm working on now, but I'm struggling to make the rest of the storyline fit together the way I want it to. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Actually i don't get Reki at all. Like even in the first ep he was worse even than Shadow and i'm not talking abt Cherry, Joe and Adam. And he was ok and loved skating. But like... if your friend is better than you, then you get depressed and making your friend feel guilty abt you not being good enough? I didn't even ship Reki and Langa, they are just giving me only friendship vibes, but i'm still sad, wtf writers did with his character?

Yeah, same. Like, sorry, I just don’t think Reki’s character can be redeemed for me personaly at this point.  

Like what should I even stand for in his character? I do not respect his life position at all. Like I dislike Makoto for being a shadow and not wanting anything in his life, but hey, at least he’s genuinely happy for Haru’s success. I adore Rin who never gave up and dove into the hardest challenge possible from the start to get on Haru’s level, cause he wanted to swim with him for the rest of his life and he got there. And then there’s this..  it’s like.. he loves to skate, but apparently not enough, cause his doesn’t want it, if he isn’t the best at it, so he’d rather... not skate at all? He wants to be as cool and on the same level with “naturally talented ones” and wants to compete with Langa, but he doesn’t want to do anything for it or search for his own unique style or smth to beat them in another way? And on top of that he’s also sad about seeing Langa succeeding? The whole thing is... like.. no, thank you?

Like are they really gonna go with the “you made me want to be great at this like you, but if only you are great at this, than screw both you and this?” lolz. Even if they will go with the psychological block bc of his friend’s injury, it’s gonna be lousy af now. It’s like is there even a route left which could make him look...ahem... presentable at this point? Idk.

I also was right about the fact that he’s the type who prolongs the whining instead of doing things, unlike some other characters who were in his position too; realistic maybe he is, but I don’t want it, honestly, like I see such things every day and I do not like it.

From what I’ve seen in the tag some are already trying to apply here like 50 mental disorders to excuse him and stuff like “it’s realistic” and at this point I’m honestly used to people on the internet using mental disorders not for spreading awareness, but bc they’re thinking it’s “trendy”, which is a cringe galore and shame on you. But it still makes me kinda sad all the time. Also there’s nothing unrealistic about not giving up and getting where you want, it’s just harder for, to say, “ordinary” people, that’s why most rarely choose this option (although it’s for you to decide if you’re ordinary or not, cause everyone can be extraordinary, you just need to find it in you). Anyways, drowning in a self pity is not the trait I’ve ever found appealing in people, along with the constant comparing yourself to others.

Sadly many prefer to use these excuses to get out of everything along with being lazy or jealous, esp the young generation. At this point, it’s like the same thing as with this other fandom. Like, sometimes when someone is trying to hit someone because he saw that he’s more talented than him, that just means that he’s an asshole, there’s no need to come up with ridiculous excuses to justify this and try to make him a hero. And sometimes ppl are just jealous, as simple as that. And no, not everyone is like that. At this point ppl on social media are like... fuck your hard-working characters, who are inspired by talent and do not give up on trying to prove yourself even if the whole world is against them. Let’s promote being emo and how it’s okay to spend your life on walking around telling everyone how you’re a useless trash, like this will help you in life.

Also if seeing someone succeed, esp your best friend, makes you sad, might want to reconsider the way of living your life. Just saying.

Also since when you have to be the best just to enjoy doing what you love doing? I’m like... personaly I do not get it. Looking at my vids 10 years ago they look like utter trash, but I tried and tried and yeah, I might not reach some levels of mega talented ppl, but hey, I’m still trying and searching for stuff I can improve all the time and watch talented ppl tutorials like “holy fuck, you can do that?”.

But hey, at least he doesn’t want to only make boards, he wants to compete... (or does he? I’m honestly not sure at this point lol)... I mean, there’s... that. but I thought, when he’s gonna realize it, he’s gonna be back on track, but n.o. xD back to self pity. ok then. Some go like “its only been 3 episodes” and I’m like “this... ain’t a 24 episodes anime tho..(?)”.

So far I’m just confused about what are writers intentions with some characters are. Like the most interesting ones at least for me are technically a background for some reason idk. I was literally sad about the wasted amount of screentime on Reki being.. well, nothing new.

Sad part about this is that people like this also need a constant reassuring to the point of them just sucking your life out of you, too, so I honestly do not know how to deal with this life position. Ppl like this have a tendency to never be happy, so Langa would just have to run after him and feed him with compliments for the rest of his life to water his tiny self-esteem or say smth “don’t give up, don’t give up, fighting”? It’s like... well, ok. Friendship, yeah, but ship? Nah, not for me. Also I do not smell any huge romance there tbh, and from Reki’s side this is all just a mess tbh.

The saddest part was that he saw that Langa won after his yelling and he didn’t care for that. Like Rin was mopping bc he wanted to swim with Haru, so when he saw that Haru wanted to swim with him, too, that was it for him. And that’s the problem all the viewers who watched Free! got hit with while watching this. My DMs are literally all about “why do I not feel anything about them?” or “sometimes cute, but smth doesn’t hit me shipping wise”. Cause I think most expected for some reason that he would also put Langa first, but at the end, they’re not on the same track, bc their priorities are different.

I actually think it was just mistake for all of our Free! hommies including me to go at it from the wrong point of view and from the beginning expecting it shipping wise to be like that one other Utsumi’s work. I mean, she’s just a director there, not also on the storyboard or anything else. Should’ve gone watching it with a clear head. The main ship just does not hit any spots for me either. And my heart does not lie there at all. I do blame Free! for this, cause it’s like impossible to compare bc of those our scenes, I keep seeing, but at the same time, they do not hold up not to the dynamic, not to anything at this point. Like I do not know where they’re going with them, but this is just not my type of a ship in general and definitely not the one I can go crazy about. I honestly do not think 3 episodes can change that. It’s says a lot if at this point I do not even care much for their reconciliation, I’m like.. tell me about the seniors’ drama tho xD So I’ll stick with my side ships.

Also, unrelated to the question, but did Adam seriously just went and hit Cherry with a board in the face?!!!! (THE FUCK DUDE?) Like, this was definitely not how I thought this was gonna go. I also kinda felt like Cherry was in love with Adam in the past. All in all this was like a... strange episode, at this point I just feel sorry for my baby Langa, Joe and Cherry were very cute (esp at the end) and my god Cherry is hot, but like I also want something complex pls, so idk I’m  still waiting for the Adam/Tadashi shananigans.

At this point I’m like “I love watching this, but what am I watching?” haha supernatural skating soup opera it is then. 

Also I just love Langa my dude, my man. How he’s such a puppy in real life, but so freaking hot when he skates??!!! T_T

📕Story time, STAYs📖

It won't disappoint you, I pROMISE. So I'm currently returning alone by boat back to where my uni is and I had the weirdest dream.

There's me and my sister on a boat as well going somewhere and I'm really sleepy so I decided to try and take a nap on the chair I'm sitting. Now, have in mind that where I'm sitting has full view of the mini hall there is in the ship and I can see everything happening there.

So after a few minutes I had my eyes closed, there is a commotion happening there but as I'm too lazy and sleepy, I don't really give it any attention but my sister is missing from my side. As I try to spot her in the small crowd, she waves at me to go there with an excited gesture but as the caring big sister I am, I'm just not going and kinda ignore her lol So she comes marching at me and I ask her what's all the fuss about and she tells me that there are some korean people in the hall performing some kind of thing and she believes I know them. So naturally I look over again and who the fuck knew! Apparently JISUNG and CHANGBIN from Stray Kids were traveling along with us for some insane reason.

So my jaw is on the floor by that point right? My sister is tagging me by the sleeve to go over and watch but I'm like "Dude, there is no fucking way I'm going there" Like the distance is too close??? And I currently look like a freshly awakened potato??? Plus all my shyness and social awkwardness came through atm. Like what if I go there and Jisung just comes up to me all smiley and shit and I just malfunction?? And no, not the cute kind of stuttering, more like "ᵒᵐᵍ ᵒᵐᵍ ᴵ ˡᵒᵛᵉ ʸᵒᵘ ᵒᵐᵍ INHUMAN SHRIEK ᵒᵐᵍ ᵒᵐᵍ ᵒᵐᵍ *queue uncomfortably tigheted face with shaking smile build up*

NOOO SIR. we're not having that. So my sister goes over and I stay behind to observe from a safe distance. There is this whiteboard on the hall right? Jisung is sitting on the floor cheering up on his hyung while Changbin is trying to write down my language's alphabet with what seems to be, no particular success. So naturally my reaction is awwww what a cutie! He's trying so hard! But then he erases all that and bITCH he's writing down multiplication tables with insanely high numbers like it's nOTHIN and they're all CORRECT and I'm like WTF IS HAPPENING. Few moments after, the crowd closes on Jisung as he still sits on the floor doing something but I can't clearly see cause the crown is really dense but there are lots of Awws and Omgs, so my sister comes and goes like "He has a bowl of small chopped carrots in front if him and he's munching them! He looks so cute! He's almost like a bunny!!" I wanted to correct her and say squirrel but I didn't So I finally managed to get a glimpse of it and let me tell you. IT. WAS. CUTE. AF.

After the mini performance ended, those two disappeared from sight, and my sis came back next to me and we thought it was all over right? Haha hahaha wRONG

I kid you not, Jisung came literally behind me, holding a bag of full grown carrots, he handed my sister half a carrot and right after he gave me a whole ass carrot. I bowed my head in return, whispering an inaudible thank you as he smiled at me and went on his merry way handing away carrots.

Ehem.

Jisung gave me a carrot.

Fell to sleep so it took some time to reply 😄 Woke up three times though when I started to cough my lungs out and I read your reply at 3am (it's 6am now).

Haha glad to hear that 🤩 I hope my work with my series pays off. And yeah… I know what you mean. Also it doesn't help when a motivation killer strikes as you remember the ratios and you're afraid your work won't be appreciated, getting 345 likes and 6 reblogs per chapter, and 2 of the reblogs are yours. You would think nobody is interested and then you get a reply to your newest part "next part pls" 😫 Like??? You clearly like it, but is it so hard to write "OMG this is so good, can't wait for the next part!!"??? Like people complain about not knowing what to say to writers so they leave a like to show their appreciation, but if you aren't sure what to say, you could just say "I really love this!" or variations of it, it can't be so hard. It's 100x better than just liking.

Of course, discussing about the piece/sharing your thoughts what was running in your head when you read it is even better ("omg!! The ship finally sails, I've waited for x and reader to kiss for so long!" or "aww, I hope y won't try to intervene x and reader's feelings out of jealousy. I understand they also have feelings for x but it still isn't right to ruin their crush's relationship and hope they get x instead 😞 I pity y too because losing your crush to someone else really sucks but planning to break their relationship with someone else is just so… raaahhh") or even some critique if the writer is ok with that but if someone doesn't know how to do that, just a few words of kindness and encouragement are good too.

And to your tags: don't worry, I clogged people's dashes too yesterday because I was praising my new moot's Kaz x reader oneshot and ended up discussing about the growing OOC'ness in a lot of Kaz pieces with her on the reblogs. I mean the smut pieces + the ones where Kaz is this innocent defenseless puppy who needs Y/N to defend him if someone touches him 😅 Like imo canonly, if someone would touch Kaz's skin, he would slap the person's hand away immediately or at least growl "don't fucking touch me" and if the person still wouldn't let go, he'd probably break their hand or leg with his cane before retreating to somewhere private to calm himself down as one of the worst things he's afraid of is being seen as weak and if he's immediately turning out to be a whimpering poor teenager upon touch, it's very obvious that he has a weakness.

Also it's stated in the books that he has learned to hide his panic attacks for the most part, just retreating in a dark corner where he won't be touched by anyone and he has made sure his reputation includes the fact that you're the biggest idiot ever if you go to sling an arm around his shoulders of something because it might turn out so you don't have an arm at all after that.

But I've seen pieces where Kaz completely freezes and basically starts to cry in front of everyone if someone touches him and then reader comes in a shining armor and defends him and then she helps him to his room and holds him while he sobs in her arms (as the reader is a Magic Girl who is the only one Kaz can touch and it has been that way from the start, reader just touched him once when they had just met and Kaz was like "😳 her touch doesn't feel unpleasant!!!"… that's some lazy ass writing if you ask me, or of course people have the right to write him as they please and erase essential traits from him and add new ones that make him soft and huggable but the cost is that a lot of people leave your stuff unread if you don't make them stay in character).

And I know this sounds mean but I've laughed at those pieces where Kaz whimpers and cries in reader's arms after his skin has been touched because the mental picture is so absurd???

Okay now I rambled about this to you too 😂 I'm just honestly pissed that some people don't even try to make him in character, I rarely come across good Kaz pieces because of that.

TELL ME ABOUT IT!! i feel like it's almost impossible to fully capture every aspect of a character, but you can at least try, right? and the things you were talking about earlier, with kaz being ok with reader touching him or breaking down so publicly? it physically hurts me. the bare minimum has not been meant.

but yeah, i know what you mean! i've gotten reqs in the past for very ooc behavior and i just Pretend I Misread It while writing or don't take it. otherwise it just feels like i'm making an oc that's eerily similar to a published character lol

I use a 6000pxx5000px with a 4px brush, usually, but I really rarely use it all, mostly it’s just like, corners of the whole thing. I tend to draw a lot of things on the same canvas before switching to a new one - that said, personally I can’t draw properly if I don’t zoom in above 100% (usually I work at 150% or 200%, more for details) so I’m really not the right person to ask this haha

They’re learning together!! They have an online dictionary and follow online courses, so Kirishima kind of looked it up for himself at first - he was signing it as love instead of really like thoug, which made Bakugou indecently flustered so in the end, yes, he was the one to teach him how to properly sign it :D

And nope Kiri didn’t know jsl from before, but mers do have something similar to a sign language (there’s deaf and mute merpeople too, after all) so he recognized it as Bakugou going “I want to talk to you and this is the best way to” - also, he’d never seen a tablet before and Bakugou was showing him an explosion on it to make him understand and instead he went “what is this SORCERY” and got excited about a gif. Good, pure kid. I had no clue how to add that in the comic in a fast way tho so let’s leave it at him being happy they found a possible way to communicate haha

So pretty much at some point in the middle of a meeting Present Mic mentioned how there probably was a traitor between them that kept on feeding the villains infos about UA, and the fandom of course got interested in that!! Who could it be? They started thinking it through and for some reason the theories that ended up being more popular are about it being either Kaminari, Kirishima or Hagakure - I don’t think any of these are true, but if you google search “kaminari traitor theory” or the same with the other two names you should easily find the posts explaining the theories and where they come from, if you’re interested!
