#idk about you guys but i find something deeply poetic in the fact that godfather and bottoms are like. in the same convo#rwrb got pushed to 10th place when i remembered that i did actually watch the godfather trilogy this summer#hate to give a coppola some credit but the godfather is a classic for a reason#it even kept my mum (the jane austen addict who hates blood and violence) invested and awake for the full run time#marry me with jlo and owen wilson got pushed down to 11 when i remembered die hard asdfghj#the ones who got away (2023 releases) are joy ride and scrapper. and aftersun. and past lives#if i have to pick a fave it's rye lane#it was just so iconic in every way#the script the visual story-telling the characters#the peckham of it all#also quite funny how obviously i gravitate towards a movie of colour#like. white people can make great art and i'll likely get to it#but i've spent a whole lifetime seeing those movies and now i'm gonna go out of my way#to make sure i watch all the movies of colour that interest me#polite society and they cloned tyrone and rye lane really just tick all the boxes for me#in terms of like. sci-fi/magical realism within the plot or the visual choices#i really mourn the lack of attention they got but i also know neither of them got a cinema release in sweden#and neither of them got any kind of substantial promo in sweden#so i can only assume it's a similar deal in other places#tragically enough

#random rambles#Technically I'm done with this month's header since yesterday.#Practically I've been feeling so insecure about it I've been procrastinating looking for an icon or uploading it at all#Like it *was* natural to have a downgrade in themes I've said it myself a lot of times. After 24+ themes it's understandable I'd run out–#of inspiration (or even simply material) for the very cool stuff#That said. I did very much spend the whole entire day from when I woke up to when I (started studying at past 2am) went to sleep on it#That's what I get for working with the anime tbh. Bones artstyle is ugly there's little to be done about it#While making it I also came up with other two themes concepts.#One is probably going to replace September's plan and the other idk will probably slid to the next year#Idk looking at this year's planned themes lineup it all feels full of things I'm not skilled enough to make...#On top of everything this February's theme wasn't even what I had initially planned!! The one I had initially planned was a chapter 33 pane#Idk why I didn't follow up with it. Maybe I've just grown to think manga panels are too simple (terrible choice) (rip)#I think the thing that bugs me with both the initially picked image and the anime header I made yesterday–#is that there's no smooth transition with the blog. And I know it's not a big deal but pretty much all my themes do and it's bothering me..#And it shouldn't. Like nearly everyone uses an header that is sharply separate from the blog and they make it work#Uhm..............#Idk I should be studying besides.#I think I'll either go looking for an icon and see how the overall theme looks on the blog. Maybe I'll like it better then.#Or I'll just start over and see if I can use the ch 33 panel I had in mind and see if I'll like THAT better#It'd just be a shame if after all the time I've spent on it yesterday I'd just let it lie unused on my computer#There's also the fact that black and white of the manga doesn't feel very February-esque... man i don't know why but i can't trust people who erase canon information about a character just to label them a sexuality that doesn't even make sense
#yes i am looking at the shit ton of lesbians who just happen to ignore female characters who just dated men#or dated men for the majority of their storyline#to label them as lesbians#i swear to god the amount of times i saw agatha with that lesbian flag sticker#and worst of all she does kiss woman!!! but she is bisexual!!! explicitly confirmed!!!!!#but still she has her sexuality erased!!!! since kissing women isn't enough for some sapphics#i remember seeing a post a few days ago#which loosely said that some folks are so desperate for queer validation they'll do harmful/disrespectful things#to those they deem their icons#this discourse was obviously tied to queer ppl disrespecting artists#especifically jimin since so many queer folks just love to misgender him and label him as trans#and also to taylor swift and her insane group of fans who swear to god she's a closeted lesbian#but i also think about how common this very intentional and deliberate behavior has become inside fandom spaces#where ppl just erase a character's sexuality or gender identity just to make themselves feel better about their own identities#but like#at what costs#at the cost of erasing true representation when the character is indeed lgbt just not the sexuality/gender you wanted them to be?#this is so tiring and that's why i absolutely run away from fandom spaces for a long time now
