Found this old fic concept in my notes, I doubt I'll ever get around to writing it or that I could do it justice if I did, but it still makes me laugh so I wrote it up as a little blurb. Perhaps it will make you laugh too.

Mega Popstar Dream and Hob, his extremely non-famous celebrity crush

So in this universe Dream is an extremely famous musician. He's like Taylor Swift level of famous, if you walk up to any random person on the street they would know who he is. Meanwhile Hob is an actor but really not very well known, he was in a few small projects and is in the core cast of one TV show that's well-regarded but not super popular.

It's Dream's FAVORITE TV SHOW and Hob is his FAVORITE ACTOR that he's ferally OBSESSED WITH. Everyone knows about this too, Dream is really obvious about it. In interviews people will ask him what he likes and he's like "this is my favorite TV show" "have you seen Hob Gadling in that show isn't he incredible", They'll ask him if he has a celebrity crush (as a joke) and he's like "YES HOB GADLING 😍" like it's become a meme in Dream's fandom how much he has a crush on this random actor.

They've never met though, probably Dream was afraid to -- 'never meet your heroes' and all -- and never let his team book any overlapping events. So he's never seen Hob in person, only watched his favorite TV show 65 times in a row and memorized every inch of his face. Like a stalker.

So then a Buzzfeed-esque YouTube channel is running a special edition of their usual challenge show, "People Meet Their Celebrity Crush", except this time it's "CELEBRITIES Meet Their Celebrity Crush." Dream's entire team conspires against him to book him on this. Dream doesn't know what it is until the very moment since the whole point is to surprise people with their crush. Needless to say, Hob was REALLY dubious when the channel reached out like "do you want to come on as Dream's celebrity crush" but what's he gonna do say NO? say NO when Dream is so pretty and cute? So yeah he goes.

Anyway during the moment in the video when they revealed his celebrity crush to him -- aka Hob just looking like a totally normal and random guy -- Dream literally tripped over a chair and fell on the floor and then fainted. Instant meme and it became the thumbnail of the video. When Dream woke up to find Hob crouched by him all concerned asking if he was okay he nearly had a panic attack, he was never more flustered and nervous in his whole life not even performing for crowds of millions.

Hob fell in love instantly. He doesn't even know much about Dream, he hasn't even listened to Dream's music other than what's just playing ubiquitously on the radio all the time but all it took was watching Dream fall over a chair and then look up at him with his huge starry eyes and he was like 'This one's mine forever idc. I gotta protect this nerd he won't survive in the wild.'

Anyway they did start dating after that and Dream never leaves the honeymoon phase for the rest of his whole life, he truly thinks Hob is the most handsome man and best actor in the entire world and will tell anyone so at any opportunity, he goes around saying things like "see if you believe really hard you too can marry your celebrity crush 🥰" with zero irony, he might have skipped the Grammys to go to the premiere of season 3 of Hob's show (Hob didn't ask him to do that) (Dream won the Grammy but had more fun staring at Hob's face for 2 hours than he would have had at the awards show). Meanwhile Hob never talks about Dream in public because Dream already has negative 500% privacy in his life, he's extremely protective of him, and he allegedly punched one of the paparazzi in the face when they tried to take stealth shots at their wedding which was supposed to be a private affair. ALLEGEDLY. No charges were filed.

Dream did post one photo of the wedding on insta for his adoring fandom in which he described Hob as his knight in shining armor and then denied any knowledge of any 'alleged' events when asked about it in the future. Because Hob was so much more private about their relationship than Dream, for a while Dream's fandom had been like HOB DOESN'T DESERVE DREAM but after the (alleged) story about Hob punching someone in the face came out they were all obsessed with him. So that solved that problem.

(Despite Hob's efforts a paparazzi photo did come out of them the morning after the wedding, Hob sitting on the terrace drinking coffee, Dream sitting on his lap wearing Hob's shirt and looking thoroughly ravished. Dream might have framed it.)

Then they lived happily ever after. Dream put Hob in every one of his music videos regardless of whether it made sense for the story. Hob got one of Dream's songs put in his favorite TV show which made Dream's whole entire year. The end :)

2023 was a fucking whirlwind of a year and man I wouldn’t have made it without you guys.

I waltzed into this year vibing with the same handful of people I’ve been vibing with for years with no real intentions of diving head first into a new fandom and making new friends. And then tiktok decided to show me a video of some weird curly headed dude that looked like he stepped out of a Salvation Army fitting room and forgot where his real clothes were.

I found a band that make me happy, and that got me through a bunch of rough spots and with that band came so many amazing people and pinky promises I didn’t know I needed.

Funny how all it takes is a single post about Sam as a member of the BAU to lead you to one of the best people to waltz into your life isn’t it?

The keeper of all secrets needs their own secret keeper sometimes. Dee somehow weaseled her way around my defense walls and quickly pulled up a chair with a ‘idc how much you push me away I’m not moving’ attitude. She’s quickly become one of the greatest friends I’ve made and has stuck around even when I’m at my worst. She’s the person I know I can turn to when I need someone that’s gonna listen and ground me when I can find the ground myself, and who I tell all the batshit crazy things I’ve done throughout the day. She’s gonna kick my ass for this but @vanfleeter I love you, here’s to a new year annoying each other and attacking each other with the thoughts our minds conjure up.

And then along came @tommie-gvf who literally kicked down the doors and said yeah I like this bitch imma latch on like a leech and never let go. They’ve been another rock to my floating balloon of a life this year, they’re the reason my communication in hard situations is getting better. They’ve seen me at my best and at my worst, listened when I’ve needed to cry and told me off when I needed to hear it the most. I love you my Teeny babe.

Psst @silks-up-my-sleeve you, yeah, you! Always lurking in the shadows and always mutually supporting everything we’ve done on our own. I’m glad we’ve finally broken through the barriers and connected, you my friend, are an old soul that anyone would be lucky to know and love. I love you!

You know what, it was my very first time I watched jjk and when their first scene together came in (in the morgue), I genuinely thought Shoko was his ex or like, something goes on between them lmao. I just felt there was a tension? There was just something on the way she curled her hair while talking to him? And how gojo spoke to her that I CAN'T EXPLAIN.

I DUNNO I just felt there was something something. 👀 I think it's valid cuz, yeah, I saw it long way before I became their shipper (and not just out of delusion). 😌

When did you start shipping them anyway? God bless that scene for putting you into this fandom. 💦

OMG FRIENDDDD. I've been a shipper (or as the kids would say 'truther') since that scene too! I think it's the whole context leading up to it, because you have this "Cool-thinks-he's-funny-but-everyone-else-doesnt-think-so-super-OP character who seems unruffled at anything, at first glance. Then the Eishu Detention Centre arc happens, Yuji 'dies' and he's very ruffled and emotional and raging. You have Ijichi, nervous as hell bearing the brunt of that rage. And then she just shows up, chill, dark circles under her eyes but somehow able to smile despite the hour, and her first lines are that he hasn't been this emotional since they were students/kids. And then my brain seizes on the subtext: old friends. And then she does the hair twirl and smiling in the face of his rage, just completely chill.

And i've been in rarepair hell ever since lmao. Like body language 101: Hair twirling in That Way has always had a flirtatious/playful energy to it, i'm taking no criticism, if i look like i'm wearing a tinfoil hat for saying that then so be it.

But also with Shoko's intro comes an inside look at Gojo's motivations. Off the top of my head she's the one present when he talks about students experiencing the best years of their life speech. Even if you don't ship them romantically. the intimacy of an old friendship/trust is there. He knows hers is a sympathetic ear.

Also. He's polite to her when he asks her for that favour in delaying yuji's autopsy report. First scene i ever saw that guy say please after seeing him do as he pleases. Equals. But also i cackle when she's like "stop giving Ijichi a hard time" and he's like wagging a finger "i'll give him a hard time if i want idc"

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

publicly associated with my account, 45. in total, including a couple i orphaned before i knew you could put them on anon, 84 i believe. 85 if you count the two chapters of that leakira zine i wrote that are up there somewhere. i could be off. but i forgot how to get to where it shows me the total number and i can't be bothered lol.

2. What's your total A03 word count?

438,464 baby. maybe 500k in 2024? who knows.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

ones 90% of you have never heard of, at this point. it fluctuates depending on whatever i'm getting ideas for, but actively at the moment, the mullverse (mostly beyonders), resident evil, and lockwood & co, national treasure (might be done with that tho, i've exhausted my must-writes). i have other stuff knocking around, like life is strange, mona lisa smile, mlp, some more shazam, bendy and the ink machine, a tlou fic...but who knows.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

ugh. 1. in this fearful fallen place (i will be your home) 2. welcome home, theseus 3. sanctuary 4. i'll carry the weight of you, i swear 5. eat you alive. it says a lot that only one of those is still publicly listed on my profile. even then i'm tempted to put it on anon. they're only my top kudos'd by virtue of being from a big fandom. definitely not my best. at all. even within that fandom. free me and my stats page.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

not all of them, but i make an effort when comments are thoughtful or especially brighten my day. it's easier now because writing for smaller very niche fandoms you don't tend to get a lot so i don't feel overwhelmed or anything, but man responding is hard sometimes. i want people to know they made me happy, though, when they do. so i try.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

i mean there's that tododeku one where they both die brutally and were supposed to get married next week. there's also the batcat fic that i wrote solely for the purpose of killing bruce wayne (sorry). there's um. also the klance titanic (historical not titanic the movie) au i wrote ages ago. haha. yeah. anyway.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

all of them. hfdsjkhfs no i honestly couldn't tell you. i have a mike flanagan-ass idea of a happy ending these days. maybe three's a crowd? hell if i know.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

i've had a couple instances of people harassing me over them but never like. "your fic is so bad i hate it die". so maybe?? i'm too obscure to be getting hate at this point lol. who out here is gonna read beyonders fic just to comment mean things.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

i do not. i did try years ago. that notebook has since been put through the shredder and dumped into the recycling bin for good measure. (yes, it was that bad.)

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

technically no but i've thought about it sometimes. they've all promptly fled my head though so just trust me on this one.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

gee i hope not. there's been a lot of suspicious similarities in some old cases but like. that literally does not matter to me anymore idc. it's not straight up theft in any case so not to my knowledge ig?

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

again not to my knowledge but i do have blanket permissions for that if anyone ever wanted to. it's cool.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

back in the 2010s my friend and i were writing a warriors fic together. she did one chapter, i did one, etc. i've had collaborative aus as well (cat's cradle and whatnot) but not a collaboratively written fic for any of them. me and tam were writing the coma au together but we're no longer in the fandom for that anymore, rest in peace coma au you were genuinely wonderful. i'm not opposed to the idea of collab fics but they always feel like a lot of work and i'm way way way too anxious to approach anyone about them.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

ah hell. i dunno. do i have to pick one?? like right in this moment i'd say locklyle and they've been here a hot minute (like. ten years almost) but i don't really have A Favorite I'd Choose Over Anyone Else.

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

mm. penumbra anastasia au haunts me. i want it out of my wips folder. also wild geese is probably never getting finished ever. i do think i'll get split ends done eventually but that one's taking forever. as for ones not posted, well, rip the gospel tent au. i might try to convert it to a short story but lord. i don't know. and don't get me started on the final girl au or the empty grave possession au. throwing myself out a window. they'll never be done i'll never be free.

16. What are your writing strengths?

uh. i honestly don't know anymore. knowing exceedingly tedious canon details to the point where i can make all sorts of metaphors and allusions relevant to said canon? i really couldn't say. introspection i guess.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i have an overbearing anxiety that i will fuck it up somehow since i am a monolingual american loser. if i ever did need to i would definitely see if there's any native speakers willing to help translate or whatever bc i am not relying on google translate for that.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

like liv, lord of the rings. i still have my first fanfic btw. it's written on tinkerbell notebook paper.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

it changes. if i were to be completely objective (or as close as i can get), completely removing my emotions on fandom from the equation, prob without anesthetic. because i think i constructed it just right. being a dirty little subjective, right now i think it's three's a crowd or swallowing jupiter or the swing of things. they're all wonderfully unhinged.

I'm so sorry, I didn't realize how long it had been, I hope you don't mind me getting to it now if it's not too awkward! I really do appreciate the tag a lot, thank you!!! :D I still wanted to do this for fun even if I'm terribly late 💔

(I'm not gonna try to make this a list of my favorite characters because I'm so bad at making decisions lol but instead here's some characters I wanna give some much needed appreciation to!)

1) Kuon Ichinose (Persona 5 Strikers)

Of course there's another P5 character deserving of this spot, but I chose Ichinose because she's been on my mind again and she's so underappreciated! She's perfect and I won't hear any criticism towards her ❤️ I played P5S for her. Don't get me wrong, I was very happy to see the PTs again and it was fun to meet the Monarchs. But mostly. I knew I was gonna like her. All my friends knew I was gonna like her. No one was surprised. I'm getting dragged off stage before I can keep rambling on-

2) Sylens (Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West)

My favorite old man... He is just so funny. And interesting! I want to know his backstory, where he came from, why he is the way he is. He did all of that, but did you not have fun? Did you not learn about the power of friendship? Exactly, relax. He's good at comments and quips. Ladies love comments and quips, and they go nuts for asides. And since I made a CXGF reference, on that note-

3) Valencia Pérez (Crazy Ex Girlfriend)

One of my favorite characters even in a cast full of amazing, memorable characters that rarely misses! I'm obsessed with her homoerotic rivals-to-friends arc with Rebecca btw. I still think they should have kissed. Uhhh I mean, they did kiss, that was a significant thing that happened, I just think they should've kissed again in a different context. I have opinions on that and on Valencia's (and pretty much everyone else's) season 4 arc but I'll spare you for now ❤️

4) Amity Blight (The Owl House)

I know, I know, not to say what everyone else and their mothers have already said about it but this is the kinda show that makes me wish I had had it while I was growing up. I like basically the entire main cast, but I chose Amity because I really can't tell you how much of an emotional rollercoaster her arc was for me. But I love her and of course her relationship with Luz absolutely killed me.

5) Toph Beifong (Avatar the Last Airbender)

When I came on here and said I had finally watched ATLA I was waitinggggg for someone to ask me who my favorite character was. But you know what they say, when you're an adult you don't stop having a favorite character but people do stop asking 😔💔 Not really that much to say, though! I just enjoy it when she's onscreen ^^

6) Lake (Infinity Train)

It's so hard to choose just one favorite from this show. I didn't even realize I had forgotten how much I loved everyone until I started rewatching it with Sol (especially Atticus, Amelia, Grace, and Lake though 💞). Anyways here's Lake "I am a person I'm not Tulip I'm not foil I'm not reflection I'm not a sliver I'm not a null I'm not any of the hundreds of names everyone wants to give me" they/them nonbinary icon

7) Miles Morales (Into and Across the Spiderverse)

What can I say that hasn't already been said before? ❤️ ITSV is one of my favorite movies (long overdue for a rewatch tbh) and Miles is just such an amazing character all around. I've said it before, but, even with all of the spider people in ATSV, he was still the highlight to me! He deserves the world, I'll kick Miguel's ass if necessary, idc.

8) Fabiola Torres (Never Have I Ever)

My daughter... I'm so sad that she suffers from the protagonist's best friend syndrome :( She's even wearing star pajamas in the gif, she's just like me fr! Except she's a genius! Her best friend is a robot! She's so cute and earnest ;-; I would watch a show all about her ❤️ Even if her arcs don't get as explored as I would like, I love her interactions with the other characters and I especially connected to her arc about feeling alienated from the queer community.

9) Constance Blackwood (Ride the Cyclone)

Also my daughter ❤️ The highlight of RTC to me, without a doubt!! Her monologue really hit me right in the heart... She's just like me fr fr! She deserves so much better. She's everything. And her toxic homoerotic friendship with Ocean is very real, it's happening right now somewhere near you.

10) Shahara Hasan (Bodies)

It's been a while since I watched this show so I'm not as desperate to talk about it anymore, but it really did make me so incredibly insane while I was watching it, trust me. Anyways, never have I been more sure that a character suffered more than Jesus and I don't say that lightly. Her trying her best to sympathize with Elias and nearly getting through to him broke my heart... Tragedy enjoyers when some horrible fucked up guy absolutely shatters the one person who reached out to save him, ig.

i'm ashamed to say that i'm one of the people who talked some shit about snc over on twitter, everyone in that app gave me the mindset these boys didn't actually care for us and that they only cared for the money and that they're abandoning us, but then i really thought about it and realized that they DO honestly care and that they haven't abandoned us and they've been doing their best.

i allowed other people's opinions to become my own and i took a step back from twitter after realizing that i had and now i'm thinking better on my own with my own opinions. twitter is a toxic place. and if i were snc i would just not go on there anymore. i feel badly for what i've done and the things i've said and i owe snc the biggest apology.

hey, it's great that you realized this now before it got to be really bad.

and i get why you would think snc don't care. a lot of ppl on there genuinely believe the loudest folks about everything. which is why i try my best to remove myself from the fandom when i can. bc reality is, at least for me, snc are good ppl. sure, they've made their fuck ups. they've done things i don't agree with. but they aren't bad ppl. i know they deeply care about us, but they can only be stretched so thin to show that love.

and truly, if snc weren't doing enough for me, i would have left. i'm old enough to know when to leave. or when i'm no longer being entertained. and i've been having a swell time so… unless that changes, idc how others feel about them/others aren't gonna change my mind on them.

im sorry but whose fault is that arya is seeing by the fandom as a kid? i've read fics about arya written by arya stans and its always the same: arya being ugly (being seen as ugly even by her own love interest, her own love interest admits sansa is more beautiful than her, etc) which its a lie because arya is beautiful in the books, she was just a child at the start of the series. i have read arya being an infuriating smart ass, arya being a wild thing who insults everyone and hates other women and hates to wear dresses and is always dirty or mean. i stopped reading fics about her to read fics about sansa even if i dont give a shit about her bc sometimes her fics are more mature, idc if she never meets jon in the books, the writers do a really good job portraying jon being in love with her and thats all i care and want to read in a fic where they are the main pairing. that doesnt happen in jonrya fics and its sad bc they have so much evidence in the books.

I personally find jonrya fics to be scrumptious. Even if in those fics the author chooses to say that yes, Arya is not the fairest of them all: even then. And do you know why is that? Because that is true. Arya is not the fairest maid in Westeros. Neither was Lyanna. But our frustration comes when your people has repeatedly tried to impress on a stupid theory that Arya is too ugly to be loved, too wild to be loved and therefore it is impossible for her and Lyanna to look alike. Lyanna was a wild beauty but Cersei is said to be much more beautiful than her. Dany with her Targaryen features is canonically one of the best looking woman in perhaps the whole Planetos. But both of these facts do not take away from either Arya or Lyanna. Do not pretend that you who has read their fics, perhaps even went about in their circles, don't know that they have the tendency to push the, "why would Jon look at Arya if Sansa is there". As if Jonrya hinges on Jon losing his heart over Arya's beauty.

And yes, you asked whose fault it is that Arya is seen as a kid? Well tell me then why whenever we discuss Arya's potential love interests, edit any love scene for jonrya or gendrya, write metas or smutty fics of an aged up Arya or generally fool around with any ship regarding Arya, why do we have people coming into our inboxes, calling us pedophiles for sexualizing an 11 year old. Why was there a shock over show!Arya initiating intimacy with Gendry because apparently to them Arya was a kid?

And yes you are right even within our circle, we have had certain Arya Stans who had on them a stronger impression of the fanon/show version of Arya than of the actual canon version of Arya, but lmao none of them villainize Arya the way jonsas do. None of them villainize Arya for being the wild thing she is, for wanting to live as she wants, for not falling in line with Sansa's ideals. And I think you too have missed the point of my earlier post.

So to sum it up the video was basically saying that Bluestar is a bad person for what she did to Brightheart/Lostface and went on to nickpick things about her, like interpreting her personality as entitled and I vaguely remember some implication that she was judging ThistleClaw unfairly. Which is... fine on it's own. You don't have to like the character or the things she did, but they also had a similar video "defending" Thistleclaw. Obviously not in a condoning his actions kind of way, but it was something along the lines of "You guys are hating him for the wrong reasons. You should hate him for being violent and a gr*0mer. But he was actually nice to Snowfur and loved her so stop making art/content where he's mean to Snowfur!"

And god I could rant, I could rant, I could RANT about why showing Thistleclaw in any positive light when it is common knowledge that a majority of this fandom are in middle school was not a good idea. And besides that, he canonly calls Snowfur and their son weak after she died. Thistleclaw isn't and was never supposed to be a sympathetic character.

I genuinely dont care if you like him or headcanon him, blah blah whatever. I'm not here to police people over fake cats. Idc. but any Thistleclaw defense is completely uncalled for and has no purpose when his fucking character is a canon ped0 and gr*0mer who might put the age group this book is made for at risk. The things he does in Spottedleaf's Heart are bad, and the book just never acknowledged that the gr*0ming and age gap were the issue, rather just the fact that he was training in the Dark Forest. I think this could be very easily misinterpreted by children because it doesn't show the true weight of how bad Spottedpaw's situation is.

But anyways, after those videos, the backlash against Bluestar was intense and there was definitely a bigger Thistleclaw fan crowd for awhile. I mean this spread like wildfire. Any video, art posted, or mention of Bluestar would always have a ton of people making unnecessary side comments like "I hate her but-" "I don't like her but-" etc. I would even see people link the video if you mentioned liking her😭?? Which is just 1. rude to say on someone else work and 2. Blantantly parroting for the video just because the op was popular.

I don't blame this video specifically, and I know the fandom is mostly kids- even more so back then- but I do think it had a bit of a part to play in how the warriors fandom has long since blurred the line between "This character is bad" and "This character did a bad thing."

Yes, Bluestar did bad things, but the narrative VERY MUCH portrayed those things as bad. The reader knows what she did was bad. The characters know what she did was bad. That was the entire point. Completely opposite of characters like Bramblestar, who do bad things but are defended by the narrative and it's way more appropriate to bring negative attention.

Imo Bluestar was one of the best written and tragic characters in the series and before that video alot of people agreed, but for years after it she was reduced to "She did bad thing so I can't like her anymore". The whole Bluestar stuff has blown off since and I'm glad, but it's so frustrating how many characters get this treatment as well lately instead of being seen as narrative tools.

Hello :) I've just started following your blog but been an admirer of it for a while. I would like your opinion on something Mile Apo related. I watched their old interviews today as KP was finished filming and promo. They were so playful and flirty, it's incredible and lovely to see. Their concerts are full of cute MA bits as well. Honestly, I think the MileApo fandom reads wayyyy to much into any interactions MA have with other people! This is a large cast, with all guys between the ages 18-30, and from what I can tell, they're all great friends, after everything they've been through to get this show made, not to mention the world tour 💖

MA have talked about the fact that they don't want to share selfies they take because to them they are very personal photos, meant for only them. We do get selfies when they're promoting the show or other products, but I honestly believe they have hundreds or even thousands of selfies and photos of each other on their phones, considering how much time they spend together, (and Apo seems to be constantly taking pictures of Mile 🥰)

I saw people on twitter talking about what you mentioned, that they didn't interact much today... but considering how much time they spent together lately, rehearsing for the concert, and all the promoting they've been doing lately, I'd say it's completely normal for them to want to catch up with all their other friends when they have time off.

I do think their friendship has changed in the last few months, and I think it has changed for the better. I feel like at the beginning, they got along amazingly well, but they were still a bit nervous around each other. Whereas now they're so comfortable with each other, and know each other sooo well, it's okay for them to not be joined at the hip 24/7, they always know at the end of they day they'll be there for the other if they need them.

There is not a single doubt in my mind that they love each other, (platonically or romantically idk and idc, that's their business and not ours) no matter what some trolls out there say, that their interactions are scripted??? lmao what a joke!!!

After listening to Slut! by Taylor Swift, it reminded me how a lot of the fandom really slut shames Belly for having relationships with the brothers, even though that’s literally the show’s entire premise. While Belly is not perfect, there’s no excuse for people (a good amount of whom are adults) to slut shame an insecure 16 yo girl who is processing her own grief. It’s also surprising to hear people who are Team Conrad slut shame Belly because while Conrad was disappointed with Belly choosing Jeremiah in s2, he would not approve of this slut shaming at all. Plus, I find it ironic how tsitp (a very Taylor Swift coded show) has it’s main character face the same slut shaming Taylor Swift experienced throughout her career. Despite tsitp focusing on Belly’s coming of age and her taking charge of her life, she deserves a lot better from the fandom.

slut-shaming is a huge issue that i see in fandoms because that's such a huge part of society unfortunately. if you watched nancy drew or follow me then you've probably seen me express frustration when nancy gets slut-shamed by the fandom. if not here's a brief summary - nancy has multiple partners throughout the series, several of which are while she's trying to move on from her feelings for ace. the first is while ace has a girlfriend and neither know of the others' feelings, and the second is after nancy and ace break up. there's nothing wrong with a single woman/person having hookups or flings or whatever with other people or even multiple people. the only issue that would rise for me would again be regarding the emotional aspect -- it's WHO she is with, like if it was ace's brother or best friend

it's not about shaming a woman for expressing and enjoying her sexuality -- it's about just having simple respect and consideration for another person's feelings

think about it like this -- you and your boyfriend break-up (when neither of you really wanted to) and are still in love with each other. and then your (ex)boyfriend almost immediately goes and makes out with your sister. or your best friend. who KNOWS that you're still in love with each other. that's FUCKED UP and in reality i would never forgive either of them for that

i know that belly not wanting to have sex with jeremiah before the wedding is part of the plot in book 3 so i am wondering how they will handle that given she has already had sex with conrad, so she's obviously not waiting for marriage to lose her virginity. if we do have to suffer through a sex scene (🤮), it's not uncomfy because she's having sex with someone else, it's uncomfy from the emotional standpoint and because we know she ends up back with conrad -- but AGAIN this does not make her a slut, she can absolutely do what she wants with her body and should not be shamed for it

i'm hoping that maybe this is how they approach it -- with belly feeling weird about having been with conrad and tries to justify her uneasiness (since she's also still in love with him) by waiting until after the wedding because then she can say "well obviously i can have sex with my HUSBAND"

Ngl I have to agree with what @kirua9 said and that’s because she stated facts. Shu is the most boring character in Diabolik Lovers and I really tried to give him a chance but his routes bored me and made me feel uncomfortable. I should also mention that he pissed me off. Idc he’s “depressed”, so is everyone else and they’re not as annoying as him, neither do they degrade Yui as much as he does. Not even Laito is that shameless and that says a lot lol. I really don’t get why people like him so much, the only times he is alright is when he “takes responsibility and shows his king qualities😍😍” and that’s because the plot wants him to suddenly find the motivation to become a good king and the fact every character supports him makes it even more annoying to me. He isn’t perfect, he needed a 17 year old to wash and clean him, and he only treated her like a maid for 90% of his HDB route. His DF route is probably the least memorable one and his MB was pure trash in terms of the way he acted towards Yui. Maybe it’s the Reiji stan in me who simply can’t stand him but I really don’t get his popularity in the Japanese fandom; his looks ain’t even that good, I’d say everyone looks more interesting than him.

I understand why some people like him; perhaps they relate to him because they have lost someone close to them or because they are lazy as well but the thing is... Shu's laziness isn't amusing at all; it's more on the concerning side. Everyone prefers to relax in bed or listen to music at some point, but a lack of motivation to do basic stuff is already a major issue. I don't want to compare traumas, but his past is by far the least bad. His mother was strict, but she cared about and loved him, which is something other Diaboys didn’t experience. I understand that losing a friend can be devastating, but this gives you no right to become so sadistic.

I don't excuse them, but I understand why the triplets were mean to Yui; after all, the person who hurt them the most was a woman, and they developed the mentality "All women are the same," but I don't get why Shu slvt-shames and insults Yui's face and body so much. I understand you have high standards, but your past literally gives you no reason to treat women this way, and that is what I find disgusting ://

I also don’t like that he always complains about Yui’s immaturity for the sole reason that she gets easily embarrassed. Okay, he prefers mature women over girls, but how is she supposed to react when you kiss her in public out of nowhere??? And I met a lot of Shu stans who kept hating on Yui for "being mean" to him despite the fact that he deserved it. I recall a scene in which she refers to him as a good-for-nothing, and while it may appear rude, she got a point. That isn't even his route, but given that he uses her as his personal maid or slave in HDB, she wasn't entirely wrong.

I used to like his HDB route, but now that I'm paying more attention to it, it's not as good as I remembered. But I really like his CL route; it's definitely his best one in my opinion. The only thing I liked about DF was that he let Yui keep Lily; I can't say no to kittens.

In terms of looks, I've never considered him stunning because I see guys who look like that all the time. He definitely doesn’t look bad but I agree that every other Sakamaki has prettier features.

Excuse my harsh tone; I'm just retaliating for how many times he complained about Yui's face. I would have ignored it if he was teasing her or just “joking” but he was serious all the time so… deserved?:>
