Ahhh! The Harpy Gaz fic was so cute. But that section at the beginning has me thinking about Ghost, who is interested in reader hybrid that has a very unusual courting ritual(s).

Like, apparently, pandas have a weird hostage situation. The female runs and hides in trees while male competitors fight for her. They will follow her around and try to steal her away until she's ready to mate. It's theorized that this little battle actually stimulates the mating cycle. Similarly, female ferrets don't ovulate unless they're being mauled half to death. (Doesn't sound pleasant to me, but to each their own) my thought here would be more like Ghost's total confusion as to why you seem to like fighting him so much.

Or one of my personal favorites, certain birds and pufferfish (and probably many others that idk yet) have taken to terraforming. They'll create intricate designs and illusions with sand, rocks, sticks, bones, whatever you can think of to attract a mate. The structure they create doubles as a sort of nest. Bowerbirds are particularly keen on displaying an assortment of blue things specifically.

Ooh or shrikes, imagine Ghost's reaction to seeing his favorite food impaled on a sharp object (maybe a combat knife). Tbh, that would be a little threatening. Opening the fridge and seeing a steak or something stabbed with a combat knife and a little note saying, "For Ghost, I hope you enjoy 😁❤️"

No, no, as a fellow animal nerd I find this stuff so interesting!

I think Ghost would be weirdly into the knife being impaled in his food. Especially if you attempt to feed him with the knife, like sticking small chunks on the tip and expecting him to eat off the knife. And while he acts aloof he's hard in his pants because there's something hot about you using a dangerous object so tenderly with him (also weapon kink idk)

I really love the idea of reader being some deep sea monster or of some species that has a "fuck or die" mentality. Like some anglerfish or spider sexual dimorphism thing where if you were to court your own kind they'd be like 4-5 times your size and wouldn't hesitate to eat you. So you're very crafty and your courting rituals are weird as fuck.

Like Ghost is reading up on your species mating habits and seeing you tie up your mate and if they can't get out you fuck? And if they can you die? Should he be worried? And like he's rethinking every enemy takedown simulation you two had when you needed to tie him up like; were you courting him? was he courting you? what?

Or an especially powerful monster that has a tendency to make nests out of bones, to show how strong they are. So Ghost just walks into your room to see it covered from floor to ceiling in bones of all kinds of creatures with you looking at him like a puppy lol

Or or some kind of mercreature monster reader having a ritual where they pull their mate down to the depths away from competitors, because if it's not dark and cold and you're not drowning your mate won't want to fuck, and Simon's wondering if he needs to buy scuba gear?

People have talked about how a lot of the Ikemen games give all the suitors pets, so I thought I’d make a post of what pets I think the ikepri guys would have. 

WARNING: there’s a spoiler about Gilbert at the end, but the kind where you’d probably have to look something up to know what it is. Take that as you will.

Jin would absolutely have a small monkey that he’d wear on his shoulder into town as another way to pick up women. I could also see him training said monkey to steal little things from particular people he points out both as a way to get stuff from people for like his job but also as another, more contrived way to get women to talk to him. Think about it: Jin having his pet monkey steal a beautiful woman’s scarf so she has to chase it back to him and then he pretends to be surprised and disappointed that his pet did that and returns the object to its owner who now is falling for his charm and starting to think that maybe the monkey isn’t so bad.

Chevalier would have a cat because, as Sebastian from Black Butler once said, they do not say useless things or do them, plus they tend to be independent, clean, and kill vermin. He’d manage to find a cat that’s pretty much silent and never meows and also is fairly independent so, aside from occasionally curling up on Chev’s lap (silently) while he’s reading, it doesn’t require much from him.

Clavis would get a loud, messy dog like a rat terrier or a hound that he would deliberately not train to get rid of those typically undesirable behaviors because he likes the chaos and it annoys Chev and Sariel.

Leon would have a peregrine falcon. In older times, like the sort of time period ikepri is set in, there was a hierarchy of which birds of prey guys could have depending on what their title was as royalty or nobility, and princes got peregrines, so I think that’s appropriate.

Yves would have some kind of bird, I’m thinking a rosy-faced lovebird. I could see it being a gift one of his brothers brought back for him from another country where they’re native, since it seemed that Yves could use a friend.

Licht would have an Irish wolfhound that he’d take for very long walks every morning at some ungodly hour when normal people are asleep.

Nokto would have a ferret. Being as clever as he is, he’d do well with an equally clever pet, plus he’ll be able to properly care for it and train it. I could see him teaching his ferret a bunch of tricks, including sneaking into locked rooms and unlocking doors from the inside.

Luke would have a fucking badger. Idk it just makes sense to me.

Sariel wouldn’t have a pet of his own but, since the king’s death, he would take over the duties of caring for the late king’s gyrfalcon until a new king is chosen and that bird then goes to whoever Emma picks to be the next king. This is also coming from that bird hierarchy I mentioned with Leon.

Rio would have a bunny because it reminds him of Emma. He is a golden retriever, so it wouldn’t make sense for him to then get a dog, but something that reminds him of his beloved Emma makes sense for him. He’d ‘joke’ about how it’s to keep him company while she’s at work and how he pretends it’s her and they have long conversations or whatever.

Silvio would have something really small and cute like a stoat that’s like the dead opposite of Silvio. He would’ve rescued it somehow and from there he’s just really attached to it and protective of it.

Keith would be really fond of the fish in the pond at the Jade palace and that’s as close as he gets to having a pet because he’s a sad boi who doesn’t trust himself not to hurt the things and people he loves.

Gilbert would have a golden eagle (more of that bird stuff) and he would 1000% keep that secret from anyone outside the Obsidian royal palace, because it’s a giveaway of who he really is. Also, I feel like he would actually have a close relationship with his bird, plus I do think rather than using the bird for hunting like actual royalty did, he would use it to intimidate people and also to send messages occasionally.

I cant stop thinking abt Techno and Phil and peeps with weapons or in a universe similar to RWBY. I used to be like super super hyperfixated on the show when I was younger so thinking abt Techno with a weapon like crescent rose is sick as hell and my brains dream come true.

Especially because RWBY has some pretty interesting lore and takes on discrimination for Faunus (aka hybrids!!!)

Syndicate RWBY AU would fucking slap not going to lie.

Their team would be called TRPN (pronounced Trypan, as a reference to trypan blue and other such dyes. Especially relevant since those dyes are used to color dead tissue so you got a cool link to death and stuff!)

They're an all faunus team! Which makes them pretty unique.

Techno is the leader, some kind of boar faunus probably. His weapon is a sword that can change shape and size (broadsword, rapier, big ass anime sword, little tiny dagger, whatever he needs) and uses dust built in kinda like Weiss' weapon.

Phil is a crow faunus, naturally. His weapon is a crossbow that turns into a double bladed scythe.

Niki is a cat faunus (cat girl niki supremacy) and her weapon is an axe that folds into a glock just because I think Niki deserves a fucking glock.

Then Ranboo, I don't really know what kind of faunus he'd be bc of the whole enderman thing. Maybe an albino ferret? I think that'd be cute. His weapon is a huge shield that has kusarigama built into them (think Futaba from madoka magica because she's my girl and she reminds me of ranboo a lot)

- it's not that she doesn't like cats at all, just the energy required to own one is what put her off initially, but now that the furball is in the home she is so in love with the small creature

- she just honestly likes the semi-independence of it. She likes that she can get any leftover work done at home whole the cat will entertain itself.

Noah - Well he has a dog, idk if he has a name so I named him Goldie if he doesn’t. Babysits Izzy’s snake. Also has a ferret.

Justin - Several pets of all kind, most likely all with the same name so he doesn’t forget

Katie - A kitten named Sadie

Tyler - A chicken named like Kyle or something, it’s very aggressive and is the whole reason he’s scared of chickens in the first place

this is like the first thing i drew of the main cast together (before i had designs for null and argyle) because that dialogue popped into my head and got stuck there. this was also before i decided on everyone's heights which is why it might look weird

i mentioned in the intro post's tags that argyle is named after a brakence song. i also decided to make this universe's pop culture parallel to ours so i could draw fursonas ive made for musicians and e-celebs in-universe. this means that argyle by brakence exists in-universe and if jamie ever heard it it would drive him up the fucking wall

argyle and jamie make up by the end of their story and become friends again. idk the exact circumstances except that it happens on the beach outside a party. this is the moment before they actually make up, where they both want to talk but don't know what to say

just argyle drawings. way way back in his genetic code he was modeled after namjoon from bts and he still wears long cardigan type things like namjoon does

null works at a grocery store so they should be allowed to not only make death threats on the job, but act on them as well

figuring out how to draw jamie is going to be a bit of a struggle because i'm so used to drawing mustelids... but he is not a mustelid he is a different type of Long Mammal. even here i accidentally gave him ferret riley's ears on instinct. at the end of the day though i am my own biggest critic and probably the only nerd who would get mad at someone drawing prionodontids incorrectly

half the reason i gave everyone more variable heights is so johnny could sling jamie over her shoulder like that with no problem. real homies carry their friends around like sacks of potatoes

It is Wolf 359 day (also known as Christmas for some) and since I saw a stoat photoset on my dash I feel compelled to post about daemon hcs.

Eiffel - Word of God is raccoon, and it fits. The poor thing probably looks like she has mange during the season 2/3 timeskip, since there's no way astronauts are stuffing their daemons in spacesuits - they must have to go through some kind of pre-mission training to lengthen their range. They are not trained to get blasted lightyears apart though, rip. That's gotta hurt. Once he's recovered from his ordeal though I'm sure he takes advantage of their massively extended range to cause problems. There's no way I stole those donuts from the Urania's stores, commander! I was here in the comms room the whole time.

Minkowski - white-tailed eagle. This bird is found in Poland, and some versions of the Polish flag have a white eagle. It's also similar to but not exactly like a bald eagle - showing how Minkowski aspires to assimilate into Americanness but can't completely abandon her Polish heritage. Plus pilot = bird, it tracks.

Hilbert - rosencrantz-draws-things did a series of daemon paintings for the characters and while I don't agree with all their choices, I did like chameleon for him. He changes roles and faces when he needs to, whatever helps him survive.

Lovelace - The painting series I referenced gives her lioness, which I don't hate, although the logistics are a bit messy for a space station environment. Given the backstory I've envisioned for her I kind of want to spend more time reading about Puerto Rican fauna and get back to you on this one. How does the daemon situation work with her being a surrogate? Unclear but it sure keeps her up at night!

Maxwell - Ferret! The wonder twins have mustelid vibes to me, and I am always charmed by the story of the ferret who cleaned out the tubing of a particle accelerator.

Jacobi - Stoat to match Maxwell. They are the mustelid twins now. It just feels right.

Kepler - idk I don't care about him.

Pryce - Coconut octopus. Something a little bit unusual and unexpected, requires specialized care and upkeep, and octopi are extremely intelligent, with this species actively modifying its situation via tool use. She can carry him around in his own special tank.

Cutter - I never settled (lol) on anything for him, but given I like the idea of him bodyhopping (this has been thoroughly debunked by Word of God but oh well) I imagine that he keeps around the old body's severed daemon as a smokescreen. This leads to a very animated, lively guy with a strangely inert, unfocused daemon which makes him even more unsettling to everyone. He's impossible to read.

Hera - I saved her for last because she's a special case. When AI reach sentience a block of code just pops up in their programming, and that's their daemon. They're not physical in the same way humans are - why would their soul be? However, product testing indicated humans preferred to see something daemonlike, so customer-facing AIs get holographic projections of cute, non-threatening animals like puppies or songbirds. Hera has a bird until Hilbert takes her offline. When she comes back, she has control over the projection and can make it look however she wants. It's not actually her daemon but she can use it to express herself in a similar way, including projecting her humansona, which scares the crap out of people the first few times they see a random stranger on board.

Daemons in microgravity would be their own headache. I imagine crewmembers get velcro pouches on their uniforms or toolbelts sized for their daemons to keep them from floating away. Smaller daemons are preferable in the same way that there's a height range for astronauts - this is why I'm conflicted about Lovelace. Also, you know I am a #hater of 'daemon touching = sex' in AU settings and believe there are multiple kinds of intimacy, and spaceflight involves everyone getting real cool about a lot of stuff real quickly, so I think by season 3 Minkowski and Eiffel at least are hanging on to each other's daemons when they're out on spacewalks both for convenience and emotional support. (Eiffel is still stressed out about it but more because he is really bad at holding a raptor and scared of getting slashed by talons.) Hera occasionally perches her projection on their shoulders which again doesn't mean the same thing to her but gets the message across. If Jacobi is working on something fiddly Maxwell will be wearing both their daemons around her neck, and vice versa.

Bob does not appear with a daemon while wearing his Eiffel suit. The alternative would probably be more upsetting.

Seokjin: He did have sugar gliders previously, which are not the easiest pets to care for, so I think pretty much anything would be a possibility with him, barring snakes or insects. I think a cat would be a good match for his personality tho.

Yoongi: He's such a proud Dog Dad to Holly, I think that really is the best match for him. But also, I need him to have a cat at some point in the future.

Hobi: idk why, but for some reason, I see him having something random, like a ferret? They're goofy and chaotic, kinda like him, but I know he's not a fan of mess tho, so maybe a hamster?🤷

Namjoon: I know I said it in his dating HCs, but I think hermit crabs would be a really good match for him. I could also see him maybe getting a cat, but I think it would be later on, when he feels more settled.

Jungkook: I think everyone on here would agree that, given the time and space, he would have like five dogs of varying sizes and breeds. But he's also so random, I don't think anything would really be off limits for him.

Bishop is just a cat tbh. I can't think of any breeds I'd specifically assign him, so he's just a yellow cat. Definitely a short-haired one, I think he'd have tabby patterns on his tail :3 Honestly Bishop would probably be something else entirely but godamnit my brain has been thinking of animal hybrid au for the crew SOLELY because of the catboy Bishop and dogboy Lucky comment I made a while back.... I need to stay faithful to MYSELF

Lucky took a while for me to pick, at first I wanted him to be a golden retriever specifically I wanted him to have floppy ears. Then I remembered lucky isn't blonde, so I considered him being a German Shephard instead, then a golden retriever/German Shephard mix breed, then a beagle, then a beagle/German Shephard mix, then I finally landed on Shiba inu solely because I wanted him to have a cute curly tail😊😊😊 maybe he can still be mixed with a German Shephard, no reason other than it feels right (for the fluff au at least)

I think it would be really easy to make Captain a wolf- which is why I'm NOT DOING THAT ACTUALLY‼️‼️‼️‼️ I like the thought of Captain being a hawk, specifically a ferruginous hawk cuz that's the largest species :3 (can you imagine how wide captains wingspan is going to be in order to support all of him?! He could never spread his wings while in any building- he would knock everything over! Im suprised he can even close his wings in the first place‼️‼️)

Despite not knowing too much on Max when I saw her design reveal I immediately thought of a Crocodile or Alligator. Bit sure why, maybe it's cuz of the green, or the side shave reminding me of Montgomery Gator, but either way she's a big ole reptile to me (Leaning more on Crocodile than Gator)

I don't know what to think of Captain 1.0 yet or the color trio, though Yellow seems vaugely dogish to me...... or maybe a moth? I could see yellow as a moth, have you seen those pretty Moths with the yellow bodies and pink legs? Gorgeous🩷💛

i haven't read/watched it, but i have read fics about it and i love them! a particular favorite of mine is the series "his dark mind" by deejaymill which destroyed me in the best way possible.

i got so invested in the series that a lot of my hcs/ideas come from there, but here are my thoughts:

derek - pitbull(?) i don't know a lot about dogs, but derek's dæmon would absolutely be a dog.

pitbull might be a bit basic, but yk, looks tough and intimidating but actually a softie. i think it fits.

spencer - hare this is absolutely from the series i mentioned before because i love spencer and his hare dæmon sm, but it also fits so well.

alternatively, (and this is 100% me self-projecting) i think a type of cat or crow would fit too—intelligent, talkative, a little skittish, cunning, and loves shiny things :]

emily - cat not just because of sergio, but emily is 100% a cat, probably a black one too. i think a black cat would fit her so well and she and spencer would make great cat dæmon buds

jj - butterfly also from the series. just assume all of these come from there at this point but i digress.

partially because she collected butterflies as a kid, but also bright, charming, and deceptively delicate. or maybe a frog for similar reasons.

tbh, i haven't studied jj's character a lot simply because i'm not very good at writing her

hotch - wolf(?) i think hotch would have a canine dæmon (loyal, protective, smart, etc) but i also don't think he'd have a dog.

(the rest of hotch's explanation talks about child abuse in reference to hotch's implied backstory. the end of this section will be marked with *** if you skip)

anyways idk if this is canon or just from the fics i've read, but i saw somewhere that children who suffer from abuse before their dæmons settle often end up with large predators (or tiny prey). my personal hc for hotch/hotch's father was that he was forced to be strong and masculine, so his dæmon settled on a form that would fulfill those expectations to avoid further trouble.

penelope - blue jay penelope would absolutely have a corvid. small and very unscientific infodump: part of the classification for corvids is advanced throat. muscles to make more complex sounds. corvids are also the most intelligent birds researchers have studied to date (im getting my information from wikipedia and my brain so don't quote me on this). add in the blue jay's bright color and you have pg!

elle - fox alternatively: ferret, stout, or weasel

intelligent, cunning, proud, and a little tricky. i don't have an in-depth explanation for this, i just think it fits.

luke - shepard i'm so biased with roxy, but i do think it fits. loyal, intelligent, and protective. i've love to do a huge luke analysis about this but i really have nothing else to say. he's a shepard.

gideon - owl full honesty, i didn't put a lot of thought into this. i was kinda just like "yeah that vibes"

owls are stereotypically old and wise

rossi - hawk again, i really didn't put too much thought into this, just thought it fit the vibes

alex - serval this is self-projection and also not very thoughtful (i am in class as im typing this and maybe should be paying attention but the vibes).

servals are very intelligent felines and love puzzles. i was going to look into a large cat species that's very maternal (though serval mothers do care and hunt for their young alone and are very independent mothers) but again, im in class so this is what we're going with.

i didn't do kate, seaver, matt, or stephen, just because i feel like i dont know them well enough, but here are my unthought-out opinions:

kate: lion/lioness (ik dæmons are usually of the opposite gender of their humans, but i feel like she'd just. Have a Lioness.)

seaver: fox

idk the other two but i'd love to know what you think!

I’m glad you’re excited to see the finished designs!! I can’t remember when I started them but it must have been months ago at this point, cuz originally one of the cousins was gonna be Liv’s older brother, so I was thinking about multiple cousin designs way back when I had the idea for Liv!

They’re so close to being finished and I can’t wait to show them off!!)

I haven’t figured out exactly how they start dating, I might write a little Drabble for it in the future but here are some small headcannons with them! 

-Liv is definitely the one that can get more easily flustered, but thanks to the band she’s gradually learning how to be a bit sassier/smooth with her flirting 

-I can’t go too much into detail with this one as it appears in a chapter of Liv’s story, but their reunion after parting ways in primary school happens when they bump into each other by chance. They later bond more in aerial contortion classes they both attend (2015 reference)

-They do a lot of movie night dates, Liv and Skeeter are both big horror movie nerds

-Skeeter loves lazer tag dates, she often wins but Liv has been getting better 

-They both love roller skating dates. Liv knows how to rollerskate and Skeeter picked it up briefly when she was younger. It’s one of the few things Liv is a bit more experienced in. They always have a lot of fun!

-They both love Halloween and have a lot of fun messing about with costumes and decorations 

-They text a lot! Since Liv sometimes joins the band on the road she’ll sometimes be away for months at a time, so Skeeter and her are used to texting

-Skeeter helps Liv with her fitness since she’s still not good at sports 

-Liv didn’t tell the band she was dating Skeeter till they’d been a couple for about two months, the band always had a suspicion though since Liv wasn’t very good at hiding it at times. Skeeter was also a tiny bit nervous to tell Scooter about their relationship, for no bad reason, it was just that Scooter was her twin and so she was naturally more nervous to tell him then others

-Speaking of Scooter he also had a suspicion about Liv and Skeeter, his big brother senses where telling him something was up. He probably hit Liv with the “What are your intentions with my sister?” Speech, and Liv blinked hard before Skeeter rolled her eyes and jumped in to save her 

-Liv borrows Skeeter’s hoodies. I hc Skeeter to be fit with a healthy amount of chin so her clothes are bigger then Liv’s. Skeeter insists she doesn’t mind Liv borrowing her stuff, she finds it cute  

-Skeeter likes to lay down and rest her head on Liv, and Liv likes to play with her dreads 

-In the beginning of their relationship Liv would always get a little giddy whenever Skeeter called her babe. Liv gets shy when using nicknames in a romantic context so it took her a little longer to start using the name with Skeeter 

-Idk what Skeeter would do for a living but definitely something sporty related, maybe like an upcoming fitness trainer or sports instructor? (Idk if there’s a difference-) Point is she’s a lot stronger then Liv, so sometimes when Liv isn’t paying attention Skeeter comes up behind her and lifts her off the ground in a hug. It startles Liv every-time 

-Double dates with Scooter and Walter! 

-When Liv is away with the band Skeeter takes care of her pet ferrets, Chucky and Ghost. Skeeter LOVES them! She sends Liv dumb pictures of them to let her know they’re okay 

-Skeeter likes to kiss Liv on her nose and cheek and Liv likes to give kisses to Skeeter’s forehead and cheek

phoenix is a hawk or an eagle honestly just some sort of raptor cause thats what i associate with phoenixes (a reptile would probably more accurate since phoenix is his localization name but thats what i know him as) edgeworth is feline for sure i saw a cat edgeworth once and its with me for life. idk if id prefer him to be wild or domestic tho i always interpret the von karmas as like bigger than he is cause i find their presence much more intimidating (theyre lions) trucy im jumping from dove to rabbit but because apollo looks like a bird to me im leaning towards dove.maybe her dads a rabbit. athena? also a bird thats coming from her name (i think apollo is also associated w birds) and also if the other attorneys are birds then might as well. maya i already said a ferret which means mia and the rest of the feys are probably somewhere in that animal family too. i feel like a buffalo is the only option for gumshoe. larry is also some sort of hooved beast. godot gives me lion also but im not doing 3 lions -_- so *vaguely waving to the big cats again*

Sure. He won't go outside of his house just to look at the sky, but sometimes he'll turn his head up and breathe deep, taking in the colors and the clouds and the sun.

Ehhh, he's normal. He'd be able to survive if you put in him in the middle of a city with his phone, though.

He likes warmer weather. He likes humid weather. For some reason.

Yeah, Kish is pretty good with animals actually. Doesn't try to be. Doesn't know why he's so appealing to them, but yeah. He's pretty good with animals.

He's normal about it. Might make a few snowballs to pelt his friends with.

The sun. He loves the sun. Some secret part of him thinks that he really understands the sun, and that the sun understands him.

If he had to, sure. He's very adaptable. He can survive. It'd actually be one of those life-changing moments for him.

Air. He's free and cheerful and always has a glint in his eye. But he can also be calm and pensive.
