despite their campaign being more similar to Gourmands, the Skydiver has Rivulets movement mechanics. the swift speed not the extended underwater breathing. they also have Gourmands craft mechanic, but very specifically not the. pull random stuff out of your stomach mechanic? im not calling it regurgitation im fairly certain Gourmand doesnt. vore actively alive things. just to pull them out later. anyway, i think Skydivers crafting system would be different from Gourmands. i mean thered probably be some similarities but id say Skydivers is more. spear based? have i said that Skydiver has unique spears like Spearmaster does? different kinds though, not just one type. thered be the usual bomb and electric spears but i think Skydiver should be able to make like. idk rubbish spears which deal more damage than a regular spear. flashbang or singularity spears for shits and giggles. lantern spears that can glow in the dark but dont deal extra damage? i also think Skydiver should be able to hold two spears at once or store them like Hunter can but i think spear crafting plus Rivulets speed plus being able to hold multiple spears may be. a lil much. i think it sounds fun though but also very unbalanced whoops. Skydiver has their own version of foodquest!! hell yeah!! i call it the spearquest. essentially, theres a unique recipe that calls for specific materials in a specific order, something like a rubbish spear plus a vulture mask plus. something? i havent fully thought it out but in essence Skydiver is making a new Vulture Spear (aka gliding spear, look at the picture up top its that). its the same kind of deal with gourmand if you finish the campaign without making the spear nothing really happens but if you exit the campaign with it theres some extra art and maybe the craftable spears can start appearing in other campaigns randomly? or scuppies can show up like with Gourmand but theres like no correlation there so im thinking spears.

the Skydiver has always looked to the skies, always stood on high branches to feel the winds, always looked at vultures with some measure of envy with how easily they soared through the air. they trained, started moving quicker and jumping high enough to feel the winds as they fell but it wasnt enough. they needed the skies themselves. they needed wings. they know just how to get some, always having known their creativity and cleverness and drive. they make a spear, wrapped with stiff wings and outfitted with an odd device that mimics the pinkish gasses vultures flew with. they step off a tree and put their faith not in the hands of random gods or nature itself but in themselves their hands their /wish/ and and it works. they fly. its. its addicting. fulfilling. incredible and vast and they hope never to lose this ever.

so of course, they lose it.

a wing snaps, flight thruster broken. Skydiver can only catch a glimpse of a falling vulture and a pink slugpup? before they spin spin spin and fall far from home with broken wings like a broken heart. something within them wails at the very idea of never tasting the skies again and for a moment it feels all too much for the Skydiver to bear. it doesnt matter. they pick themselves up. they did it once, they can do it again. theyll find their way to the skies once more and dance in the clouds with bliss. they just have to find their way out. far from these walls and back to their tree. maybe theyll even find the time to see whats the fuss with these so called random gods while theyre here.

for a moment, while wandering, Skydiver thought they saw another slugcat, blue and heavily scarred and moving with determined purpose. they never saw whoever that was again. Skydiver hopes that wherever they are, theyre doing okay in these vulture infested lands.

OK SO REWATCHING BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES AGAIN AND y'all remember how coryo and sejanus had that lil confrontation right after they got to twelve over sejanus hanging with billy toupe and coryo was all 'you have to learn to make the best of our lives and roles here or have your father buy you a discharge and do something' and we as the viewers (idk about readers bc I have yet to read the book 😭 but movie anyway) can see the spite he says that with because sejanus is there willingly and coryo isn't. coryo had everything taken from him by being sent out as a peacekeeper. sejanus gave everything up to do the same.

coryo told sejanus not to throw his life away because he had the means and opportunity to make a real difference, and what did sejanus do? he turned straight around and threw away all of his power inorder to become a peacekeeper medic out in district twelve. as far as possible from the capital and any real position of power to make the change he was always talking about. and the reason that coryo told sejanus that in the first place? he was forced to risk his life to go and get sejanus!

sejanus had everything that coryo was working so hard to get a scrap of and threw it away on a whim, right after coryo was forced to risk his life to save sejanus.

coryo was exiled. forcefully placed in the military by highbottom with the goal of taking away any future power that coryo might have had. and sejanus, who already had the money and power that coryo was being kept from, threw it away! sejanus volunteered for the job that was meant to replace coryos death sentence. and then he starts running around doing illegal shit, dragging coryo into it by association, meanwhile coryo is doing his best to get back to his family and NOT GET KILLED. CORYO BASICLY ALREADY HAD TWO STRIKES AGAINST HIM WITH THE CAPITAL, AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO EASY FOR THEM TO KILL HIM OFF IN THE DISTRICTS, LEAVING HIS FAMILY ALONE AND FUTURELESS. seriously! from coryos perspective everything sejanus did was basically a slap in the face to everything he was struggling and suffering for! but sejanus probably just thought coryo was blind to the capitals cruelty because sejanus was always trying to do what he thought was the right thing! but coryo knew people who had been labeled treasonous rebels for doing less than sejanus, and since they were friends and squad members coryo would have been blamed too. and unlike sejanus coryo doesn't have a rich dad to save him. he also had people relying on him, unlike sejanus, who only thought he was risking himself.

BUT ALSO coryo saw everything sejanus did as a wasted opportunity. and he was kinda right! sejanus had the money and the platform and the future to make real change if he would only spend some of his father's money and play the game. but just like coryo yelled at him in their fight, sejanus was too blinded by his own guilt over his father's actions and how they benefited from the war to actually do anything. which while moral and kind and very sejanus of him, was also such a wasted opportunity!

and then later at the jabberjay collection part where, before turning on the recording, coryo told sejanus to stop his sketchiness and sejanus was all 'YOU told me I could make a difference! thats what I'm doing!' and coryo makes that frustrated pissy face but doesn't really say anything he was totally thinking 'YEAH BUT THIS ISNT WHAT I MEANT!' when coryo told sejanus that he could make a difference back in the arena he was talking about sejanus using his familys wealth to make large scale change in the system, not risk his life on some asshole like billy toupe. but he doesn't say that because that's treason and he never says stuff out loud like that because he actually has people to protect. I definitely don't have the energy to go into *every* individual person nor do I necessarily have much to say about some of em, so I'll only go into detail about ones I have particularly strong thoughts about/ things to say. I love love love hc Aoi as a nonbinary lesbian. Its like,, lowkey projection,,, but I think its supported by the text. She's got some hang-ups surrounding womanhood and being a woman and how that relates to her relationship with men (im thinking specifically of her last fte). I think it would be a nice resolution to that struggle for her to shed the expectations she feels entirely and embrace who she is, even if its different from what she feels like she's "supposed" to be. Idk I think its a natural conclusion

I enjoy nonbinary chihiro for a similar reason. I think it would also be a natural conclusion to her struggles with gender and what masculinity and femininity means to them

And somewhat related I hc sakura as a cis lesbian also bc of her struggles with femininity?? I like the idea of her conclusion being to embrace her femininity wholeheartedly. She enjoys being feminine but has a hard time reconciling that with her strength. Id like to see her enjoy both of those things about her

As of rn we don't know who Sigma is or what exactly he is. New official art, as I've seen, has some already guessing his origins and which author he's based off of.

But I have a dumb lil thought/theory.

He's born from "The Book" INSIDE bsd. So what if...

There's a vampire manga series I read in high school that was a journey of the main character (le gasp) but it was "written" by the character himself. As in the "author" of this manga series WAS the main character. (Honestly the author's last name was shortened for his main character but I think it's still relevant) (plus I think it was a novel before manga...? Idk but I've only read the manga)

As I know, it was written as if the another WAS the main character.

My guess is that he wanted his story to feel like it was ACTUALLY written by the MC but still have his story be linked to him when ppl look in libraries and stuff. I've had a similar thought to as my own story does canonically break the 4th wall so to have the MC's name as the AUTHOR adds to the illusion; the immersion. And I remember that THAT was such a cool thing to do when reading this awhile back.

I have no basis for this "Sigma is Kafka Asagiri" but with him kinda being his own character as of rn (not off of an author or even one we know of yet) he severely sticks out compared to EVERYONE.

Author vs Characters

Plus, this just came to me, his ability is basically "I touch you and know what you know" right?

So, as an aspiring author and comicteer and such, I have some words. Over the years id make characters and stories but it quickly became not my own, like it was alive, the things I created. The characters from my pen would move and do things on their own and by watching them, I'd learn of who they are. And as this continued, it really wasn't ME, the author, making these characters do things.

Yes, I do guide the story but I can't tell them to just do things just because; especially if it's not their nature. It's like forcing them to be what they are not. You can make up scenarios to lean them towards a path. I've have to basically "rehire" new characters because the villain I wanted wasn't in front of me like I hoped for. But that not-villian is someone else in the story.

So basically, even tho I'm the creator, I don't know all that happens. I'm even shocked as to what the conclusions are or who someone really is. Sigma being Asagiri's avatar (per say but not like living a fanfic of his own story/not self insert) would open up a hell of a 4th wall discussion. This could elude "The Book" as being BSD itself but I don't think it is.

The book is blank.

The blank pages are a possibility. They could just act as "sticky notes" to insert in a book to make changes later.

We don't know who brought from from that book either. Or if he was in the first place. Possibly just a simple loophole for Sigma=Asagiri.... idk

Ability =Author..?

Possibly BSD story is as we see it now, a trainwreck of bad news and the world ending but he couldn't find a way or change it. As I said, authors vs characters so Sigma was born into that world to change the outcome. Without Sigma, how different would the story be? We don't even know about him until hella later nor what his existence impacted the story before that.

I think he feels a lot like Atsushi because it's that lost MC thing. Cliche as it sounds, it's not a bad start for an MC, to be naive, lost, hopeless, and running until something changes. All they can go is up despite the monsters in their minds trying to drag them down. How different would the story be if Sigma was the MC instead? Would we know too much without actually knowing what it means?

Sigma's ability I think also taps into that "as an author, I only know what my characters tell me" thing. And if Asagiri did create Sigma to change BSD then following the rules of "The Book", he had to have Sigma fit into the world. Thus an ability based off an author (in a 4th wall sense rather then we in that world sense). And Sigma would then be just as clueless and maybe even hopeless as Asagiri would've felt but he's the only hope.

Again Sigma would be an insert just alien enough and blend in enough to maybe make a change. Plus a world of authors and books and abilities, introducing a character without those is like pulling a +4 uno card on us all. (Sneaky lmao)

I find this funny as Sigma is not of this world and his name basically means "sin". Kinda like he wasn't meant to be here. I had watched a Genshin Impact lore/theory video that had talked about some of the cube bosses names came from the Hebrew alphabet. They explained that these cubes correlate to the gods of the land and the elements they represent. These gods also have interesting names too. They have normal names but but the land and history, they go by names of demons from a book called the Ars Goetia.

These cube bosses and gods both have angel and demon names but besides them relating to one other by elements, their angel/demon names match up.

Will's alternate reality!! I hadn't ever really given much thought to this, other than a throwaway line in a Jamie chapter somewhere where he wonders what their lives would have been like without IA. Let's discuss.

I think there are so many different stories contained in this question, especially if we entertain the possibility that the Wardrew parents didn't die [when they did in canon].

OK OK first let me address the very obvious CHILD LABOUR note in the picture. 😅 I am OBVIOUSLY staunchly against child labour; it was just a note to myself that in this time period, it was definitely something he might have been subjected to, whether or not the parents were around. Please note that the diagram does point from 'work young' to 'injury/death.' Because child labour is dangerous and bad. Especially in mines, mills, and factories, which might have been common places where kids were 'employed.'

I think Will could potentially head into happily ever after if he'd been forced encouraged not to skip school (as we know he was doing pretty early on) so he could maybe develop better math and literacy skills, meet more people, make connections, and gain a few more transferable skills.

What does HEA look like in this time period? I mean, idk. Maybe he gets into a job he enjoys - not necessarily getting rich but maybe at least having a stable income and not having to worry about starving to death. Maybe he gets married to someone he loves and starts a family. Or maybe that never happens and he happily flirts his way through his entire life like a rascal. 😂

I do think it's realistic to consider some options where he doesn't necessarily get a happy ending, or where he gets It after a great deal of struggle and strife - this is Will, after all. There's no IA, but impulsive and rebellious lil bro just joins someone else's gang. Oops, now we're where we started. 😅 Maybe the family remains in poverty and we're dealing with a workhouse or debtor's prison situation. Maybe, out of desperation, Will joins the navy or army - I can't speak to all time periods, but in the ones I'm familiar with (1812 / 1830s British army), many men enlisted when they felt they had absolutely no other options. I think even without IA, there are a lot of ways Will could screw things up for himself. (love you little buddy!!)

Any chance he could have met Bree somewhere in any of these realities? 💕 Sure, why not!

Maybe he lives a fairly ordinary life and they have a deliciously, disgustingly cliche meet-cute.

Maybe he gets a good job and she comes in one day to...idk, place an order or buy something, or he rolls into her house sweep the chimney, or idk, pick your fave cute Victorian profession. 😊 He immediately flirts with her in this scenario, btw.

Maybe he does some sort of job in her family's home (like Jamie once did) or 😈 in her and her husband's 😈 home, and they meet that way. (I like this one. 😊)

Maybe Bree's parents died when they did so they BOTH work in some rich person's household - she perhaps as a maid or something and he as a gardener or something. (I also like this one. 😊) A similar idea would be where they both work in the same awful, not-so-cushy workplace like a mill, factory, etc.

i think jouno would acknowledge, either previously or eventually, that people can change. bad people are bad and good are good but they can change. if he doesn't then i wonder how much self hatred he would end up carrying with himself. maybe the reason he shies from his past is because of his morality. but i think being around the agency where most of them are very morally grey and basically flirt with enemy organizations on a daily basis, he would have a gradual change in morality lol. i imagine (emphasis on imagine) that fukuchi had a significant influence on how he turned out because of the fact that he “saved” jouno from his past and stuck him in the hunting dogs where he'd end up thriving. i imagine that jouno's very easily influenced by his environment and the people he spends time around the most, despite how stubborn he can appear.

idk i think the thought of him finding a new family in the ada and learning to look at the world differently as a result is my exact cup of tea because i am also a sucker for found family

if love to see him adjust to working with criminals from time to time. i could see him trying to pick fights and arguments and not initially accepting that people can be morally grey.

this also implies that jouno may not see himself as good due to his past. i believe fukuchi said something along the line of jouno only seeing the hunting dogs as a vessel for him to use. id like to see jouno reflect on that idea and question if that’s true.

clearly he doesn’t just see the hunting dogs as a vessel since he betrayed an easy way into a crime organization that he himself recognized as unbeatable in their current state. even if he doesn’t act like it, he clearly cares about the team and his tendency to act like he doesn’t is a facade.

i also want to see tetchou learn about moral greyness as well, he openly seems to have a more black-or-white view on morality and justice. possibly his interaction with kenji could have shown him that people aren’t always Just good or evil? however kenji is also a beacon of good so his mind my revert once the truth is revealed.

Oh right, I just remembered two other things I was thinking about when writing/thinking, but sleepiness

If Sandalphon/Lucilius mirror Lucio/Lucifer and given how Sandy got better and Lucilius not, then good prediction would be that in other pair someone will also make completely different decision. But since Lucifer already killed his creator, then it would be Lucio deciding to stay by his creator side no matter what. But Lucio is playable and would need something to push him into ignoring his doubts, while Lucifer is not a playable character and he is who knows where, abandoned, like seriously... Lucilius is astral, but was revived and Sandalphon isn't trying to try it for Lucifer? Just to try? Hello?? Unless that's other, more selfish reason he is willing to let Sariel find Belial, to also find Lucilius, recover body and try some shenanigans on his own (I still stand by my theory that Belial just sewed Lucilius head to Lucifer's body and prayed that it will work). Just saying that reviving primal beast sounds a lil easier. Anyway, either Lucio/Lucifer will mirror Lucilius/Sandalphon and one of them become our enemy or not, I am just thinking, it's interesting. Tho, now I think Lucifer talking with Bahamut is a little too much, more like Lucifer beating up Bahamut for answers and I feel like we should revive him in other body just to let him beat Lucilius for answers (with sandal, Lucifer is Lucilius' parent now)

Second thing was something about Id, Ego and Superego or something, with Lucifer feeling like more perfect form of Lucio... Eee...

Oh, Shalem... Poor her... Now I wonder if her and Lucio helping as Lucio wouldn't mirror Lucifer and Sandalphon? Lucio hides his true identity and does nothing to help her with Shalem being pissed off, while when Sandalphon screams at Lucifer for pain he caused him, Lucifer... Apologizes. I don't remember exactly both scenes, but I remember that Lucifer said he didn't meant to hurt him and generally seemed at least willing to try to relieve Sandalphon's pain he caused. He didn't meant to, but he did. Closing in cradle maybe wasn't the best idea, but at least he gets star for a effort. If he had more time, he would probably get to it... Or not.

Also, does Sandalphon was really unable to leave the cradle or he just thought so? I got impression that he wasn't closed there, like... There was no lock on the door and Sandalphon could leave any moment if only he wanted. Like cradle was meant to be just a lil safe place for Sandalphon to gather his thoughts and calm down, without Lucifer standing above him... Oh gods

Sandalphon thought he was imprisoned and Lucifer was sure that Sandalphon don't want to talk with him at all and decided to just sleep for rest of eternity... Maybe it would be better if Sandalphon was just imprisoned there, aaaa... *Screams*

i think the real reason Sandalphon isn't trying to bring back Lucifer is because of narrative closure in the sense that it's 100% a writer thing. Him desperately trying to bring back Lucifer would lessen the ending of 000 and that's why he's not doing so. Personally i've been on team "Cags can make Lucifer a new body and tie his soul back to it with the connection Sandalphon has to him" but alas. I don't think primals are easier to bring back than Lucilius but Lucifer is in this strange situation where a part of his soul is tied to Sandalphon and therefore he can never truly move on in the afterlife.

As for the enemy, i think the fact Lucifer already rebelled against his creator is the thing that really mirrors to Lucio so idk about him becoming an enemy, but for Lucio more in general i think he could always end up in a situation where he will have to oppose the crew in some way.

Very true for the Lucio/Shalem vs Lucifer/Sandalphon parallelism. Lucio is still trying to be in control and he sees Shalem's distress but because of the bigger plan, he can't help her out. Lucifer meanwhile, took time to understand Sandalphon's distress but once he did he threw away all the plan and purpose that was put on him to assist him. A different level of willingness to face how they both caused distress to the people they care for.

The cradle was guarded by Lucifer's feather that Lyria had. The Crew could only get into the cradle because of Lucifer's feather. that's why there was implications of how Belial and Bubs couldn't hurt Sandalphon despite Lucifer being dead (even if Lucifer tried to protect the cradle still), and that he tried to snatch the feather from Lyria. so, no, i think there Was in fact a Lock, but it was less to lock Sandalphon in and more to lock everyone else out.

But Sandalphon did believe Lucifer locked him here and didn't want to talk to him for eternity which is still sad, regardless of the lock issue. It was a mess sobs.

scaramouche - bewildered. jaw practically dropped to the floor. he wants to get upset, to deride you for rummaging in his closet, but he can’t find the words. or the air to fill his lungs. is he breathing? when did he last breathe? he can’t remember. you’re normally adorned in traditional inazuma wear, as he’s in charge of your wardrobe, yet this... this is different. that hat is one of a kind. it belongs to him — much in the same way you are his. he feels oddly satisfied, like pieces of a puzzle coming together. the identity he was forced to build himself from scratch includes you now. 

childe - you feel like a piece of steak by the way he’s drooling over you. this is a big deal for him, so please give him a moment to collect himself. he barely hears your flustered reasoning as he stalks toward you, adjusting out the fabric that’s wrinkled and posing you to his liking. seeing you in the clothes that remind him of home blooms warmth in his chest. the interaction between you is more wholesome than what you expected when he barged in without knocking. he’s thinking to himself what a lovely spouse you’ll make and hopes for more domestic encounters like this, farfetched as it might be. 

diluc - he’s been operating under the (truthful) assumption that you loathe him for taking your freedom away, and over time, has slowly come to accept the painful reality. so seeing you wearing his clothes of your own volition needless to say, it sparks fleeting hope within him that maybe, just maybe, you have an inkling of tenderness toward him. undeserving as he may be. he kinda coughs into his hand, alerting you to his presence, then turns to leave after admiring you a few seconds longer. he later offers to buy you clothes more like his if you want. 

kaeya - your blood runs cold when you hear slow clapping, and you turn around to face the source of the sound in slow motion. kaeya is leaning against the doorframe, a knowing smirk on his lips, his eye drinking in the tempting sight before him. he’ll ask for you to do a little spin for him, making the motion with his finger. should you rush to cover your semi exposed chest with your arms, he’ll chastise you, saying that there’s no need to be shy. might make a joke about getting you a matching eyepatch to complete the look. you’re going to be teased about this for weeks, so there’s that to look forward to. 

zhongli - he gives you genuine praise, mentioning how the warm colors of his outfit complement your hair and skin color. he doesn’t understand why you’re getting embarrassed by him catching you in the act. ends up making it worse by saying you can ask to wear his clothes whenever you so please, after assuming that’s why you’re so flustered. he takes his leave when you start throwing items in his direction, gracefully ducking to dodge everything, much to your chagrin. you don’t know what’s worse. the fact he had a damning little smile on his face the entire time, or that you wake up to matching earrings the next day. you recall the phrase “curiosity killed the cat”, feeling it on a personal level. 

albedo - when you catch that knowing gleam in his eyes, something deep inside you senses that he had a hand in your downfall. you’re not certain what he did, but you know he’s involved, physical proof or not. albedo’s been leaving his overcoat out for weeks, trying to bait you into wearing it. there’s no good reason either. he was just curious to see how you’d look in his clothes because he thinks it’d be cute. his hypothesis is confirmed when he opens the door, catching you like a kid with a hand in the cookie jar as the sleeves droop past your wrist. he would excuse himself soon after, but not without sneaking another glance in your direction. he recalls a paper he read about denial being the first stage of grief as you exclaim “it isn’t what it looks like!” to him from behind the door. 

xiao - the most confused of the bunch. you have clothes don’t you? he had that on his checklist of “things humans need” that he refers to on a daily basis to ensure you’re properly cared for. so why are you wearing his clothes? is there a nefarious purpose here? are you trying to lower his guard to try and escape? there’s practically steam coming out of his ears from how hard he’s thinking. the two of you end up in a stare off which ends with his face turning red as a cherry. you’re... wearing his clothes. you. his favorite person. and it’s so tight against your body. now he’s gulping, turning on his heels, and slamming the door behind him. you’ll probably think he’s angry with you but in reality he’s having an internal meltdown. 

kazuha - you’ll be hearing about this for weeks, if not months, so there’s that. praise flows from his lips like water from a spring, poetically weaved together with the intention of expressing just a fraction of his admiration for your beauty. it doesn’t matter what your reasoning is, he’ll find a way to twist it into this being a sign of your budding reciprocation. he knew he just needed to be patient and wait for you to return his love. kazuha almost feels unworthy of staring at you, yet he can’t bring himself to look away, surprised with himself by the greed churning within him. he’s normally so deceptively soft and gentle, but that melts away as something more sinister lurks to the surface. only he can see you like this. no one else can have the privilege.

i finally finished this, after a good 3 weeks to a month of working on it

of course when the AC update hit i went stupid hard on it and bulldozed the island and tried to complete every little thing so i neglected everything else, especially drawing

but i was so hooked to the point where i made sticky note doodles of arthur and alfred as villagers at work and then i thought about how the other main 8 plus matthew would look and thats where we are now

theyre grouped by relative geography, and i made the heights of the different villagers consistent across all three drawings B) every piece of clothing is something you can also find in game

ok some explanations under the cut cuz im assuming not everyone wants to read this

ok lets start with the top:

yao is based off of a red-crowned crane, a crane found all over east asia, and i believe the national bird of china? idk, if i got that wrong my bad cuz i was all over the place in researching stuff. i had the hardest time trying to figure out what he should be, and i chose his villager model last. he was gonna be a regular tweety bird villager, but someone mentioned using feathers as a pony tail and the ostrich villager model was the only bird type that does that

ivan of course is a big old bear. i took some creative liberties with the scarf, but i figured that theyll give extra bits to villagers on occasion (like raymonds glasses or audies sunglasses) i struggled a bit w the shirt, but i ended up w a yodel sweater because at the time it looked the best out of all the sweater options. i think if i were to do this again id give him a different one but drawing the knit pattern took too damn long to start over w something else

kiku was also a bit of a challenge. not because picking a villager species was hard, but because of the color scheme. idk, when i think of japanese color schemes my mind automatically went to red black and white and i already had made yao, and it just was feeling too stereotypical at this point. i went with the earthen greens and browns as a reflection of a lot of the vintage japanese furniture in the game. he’s a deer because i instantly thought of the nara deer park and i thought that’d be cute. his antlers and fawn dots also reflect that.

francis!!! i originally was going back and forth between a skunk (because of pepe le pew lol) and then a rooster, because roosters are like the animal of france right? but i couldnt get a decent design with either of them. i was scratching and racking my brains when i realized that the literal in canon joke is him being a frog 🤦‍♀️ then the design was almost too easy. i went with pastel colors because i thought of the french courts in the 1700s. while he’s the only one i went anachronistic with, i feel like it still suits him with how cute it is.

ludwig’s a german shepard. p straight forward w this one. i struggled with finding an outfit for him because while there is the bavarian lil leiderhosen suit, it just didnt seem to fit. i went with the collarless coat because it seemed very modern german fashion.

feliciano’s villager species was picked second to last, just before yao. idk, i really struggled with him too because while the entire show’s about him, not much really sticks out to me when it comes to picking stuff for him. there’s not really any classic “italian” animals other than like.... a greyhound? idk im kind of an ignorant boob about the mediterranean countries 😬but, i ended up with a duck because i pictured a matching, angry romano and it seemed hilarious. it didn’t show well, but i based his color schemes off olives. his belly is red like an olive pit. the sweater shirt also seemed very italian to me.

bottom crew (pun intended):

alfred!!!!! we had to go with the obvious classics. not much else to explain about this one. he’s a bald eagle with his flight jacket. i tried to make his design different enough from apollo’s to where it wasnt a one-for-one copy but 🤷‍♀️ not much you can do with a bald eagle

arthur’s a little english rabbit. i thought it would be cute to see him be very little and very angry. i’m not a huge fan of the color scheme i ended up with but tbh i really didnt know what to do with him that would still look good. i tried navy, but it looked awful. i feel like he needed dark, moody colors and the other two boys already had browns and i didnt want to make them all look the same.

and finally, matthew 🥰 while i did say that feli and romano would be matching ducks earlier, you know i had to make this fool a moose. he’s technically a bull character model, but hey this shit aint real i can bend the rules. i tried giving him a maple syrupy color palette, while not being as all out food based like feliciano was, but this might be a bit too subtle. either way tho, coloring him made me hungry. he has a flannel shirt because of course he does hahaha

i had a sticky note with style preferences, personality types and all that but i dont feel like digging for it, this post is long enough anyways, and also its late and i just want to get this shit out already. i’ve been stressing about finishing it for too damn long
