AND YESS I’ve been thinking about this so much because in Deltarune his relationship to the Dreemurrs is SO SO important to his character and it’s difficult to translate when he isn’t literally their TV. (And he’s a 59 year old man and he was like. Born. Crazy. he also has parents???? weird weird)

I have an idea but it makes me want to run directly into a metal pole. LOL. but i also feel like it checks all the boxes. so. here goes.

SO. MY THOUGHT. MY HORRIBLE THOUGHT. Asgore and Toriel are just a bit older than him (i still need to do the math on alllll this) and maybe. Sometime in Tenna's very early adulthood (like. 18-21 or so) He gets kicked out of his parents house very abruptly.

This happens around the time Toriel and Asgore are together (not married quite yet) and have their house, and they let Tenna stay for a bit while he figures things out. Eventually he does and They're close as family friends after.

And when Asriel is born and Kris is adopted He's like their funny little uncle... (they probably even call him "Uncle Ant". hilarious btw) and even when he starts getting famous. He comes over for. holidays. and such. (im gonna collapse)

Once dess disappears and the marriage starts going under he takes the kids out of the house a lot. To the movies or the park or something. To give the parents a break, To get away from the fighting. Whatever they need.

Then they stop having holidays at the house. the divorce is finalized. they just don't need him as much anymore and the kids are getting older. And he's gotten busier. The calls are less frequent.

He still calls around Christmas but only Toriel really talks to him. She has to hand the phone to the kids and tell them to say hi.

it all feels so distant now.

hi there! i'm writing a fantasy series with a Black main character (i'll call them X for ease), and i was worried about their story falling into any racist tropes, and wanted to run it by someone.

X was raised by the leaders of an evil cult, who were grooming X to eventually take over leadership. X later escapes from the cult to live a better life. when they escape, X is taken under the wing of a woman who becomes a sort of adoptive mother. a big part of X's story becomes overcoming their fear of their abusive birth family, while creating more found family, and then taking down the cult completely. does having them run away from their family and into the arms of someone else play into harmful ideas about adoption? i didn't have any race in mind for the woman that 'adopts' X, but i think if she was white, that wouldn't send a great message, right?

i was also thinking that, if the original idea doesn't work, maybe the cult could kidnap X as a baby from their birth family instead. X finding that birth family after they escape could be part of their story. but that feels worse somehow? i'd love to know your thoughts.

I don't see how the latter option is worse lol. Like I'm thinking and that seems like the easier option if you wanted to dodge a difficult conversation that you don't feel up to having.

As for your original premise, as I say for everyone, it could very well be racist, if you wrote it that way!

No I would never blame a Black person for running into safer arms from a cult, or for being adopted into a safer environment. However, if everyone in the story that mistreats X is Black, but everyone that is healthy and kind to X is white, and we never address anything about that, then yeah we do begin to question the message being sent. And that can be rough, considering how people historically think Black parents are violent or generally incapable of being good parents (and how many white foster parents will abuse Black children and other children of color for the money and still be seen as benevolent, because they know the system doesn't care enough to check).

You write around that by showing that the Cult is the problem, not the Blackness. You could make their new environment Black or multicultural. Hell, the cult could be multicultural. The cult that created Jonestown preyed on Black members specifically by using the tone of Baptist preaching to promise safety from the dangers of racist America, and we see how that went. Maybe the Black family of X thought they were buying into something better (as is usually how cults go) and got sucked into something darker.

Wanted to post them because they're related to what I've been talking about with what makes someone aro or ace and how it is to live out being those things and because the exploring aspect of this is really underappreciated in fandom imo, both in the context of exploring the character and the character exploring themself. The nulls are such a great example of this because of their Situation, there's so much stuff they know about the world and so much they don't. The idea of them trying things out and it working or not working or working in an extra twisted way feels comfortable and likely. It's messy being anywhere on the aroace spectrum, especially when they live in a society that (I'm assuming) doesn't really know where to place those things

hey! i have a few questions as someone who hasn't really read the comics but what exactly is the pit? and also i don't think there's a clear number but how long after jason died did tim become robin/how long after jason died did he come back to life?

Tbh I'm not very well versed in comics myself, so I advise you to do your own research as well but basically:

1)The Lazarus Pit. This is the one I know the least about because it was introduced alongside Ra's al Ghul in 1972. It has had A LOT of changes to it like how sometimes it's alchemic(?) creation and how sometimes it is natural, sometimes it can bring back the dead, sometimes it cannot, sometimes it is green and sometimes(in lost days for example, the comic where we see jason's returen to life) it's orange/goldish. In lost days, it does NOT bring jason back from the dead, because he has already come back by that point, but he has brain damage and is catatonic. Ra's grows impatient w Jason's lack of progress and wants to "get rid of him" and Talia sees no choice besides throwing Jason into the pit to heal his injuries. And the rest is history. Note that a concept of "pit madness" is not present in utrh nor in lost days. I think it is brought up in a later post-crisis comic(btfc maybe?) but don't quote me on that.

2)Lost days places Jason's resurrection(him digging out of his grave) at 6 months after his death. I don't know when Tim becomes robin, you should look at "A Lonely Place of Dying" for that but I think it was around the same time as Jason's resurrection, maybe a bit later.

a boy who almost gets killed by a teen/young adult vampire turns to the church to become a priest/vampire hunter but ends up abused by his teacher and when they final line so to speak is about to be crossed when hes a mid(?) or young (???) teen (undecided) the same vampire now older ends up semi-unintentionally rescuing him not knowing it's the same boy and half kills the priest and drinks from him and the boy grabs a stake and the vampire is like. making his peace with this being his end bcus he's weak after feeding when the boy drives the stake into the priests neck and drags it down to make a ghastly wound and he steals vestments and clothes to disguise himself later in life as a full fancy vampire hunting priest and packs it all away and ends up following the vampire all the way back to his coven still carrying the stake he Kill killed the priest with and the vampire is like I didn't know what to do with him ???? and his like father figure ?/the vampire that turned him just smiles at the boy and kisses his forehead and leaves two small marks there, like birth marks, that mark him as belonging to their coven without turning him into a vampire

Mix of leaning into the name and calling you pretty in return, but I can also see him slightly rejecting it

He knows you mean it, more than likely- but hes so used to not being treated nicely that he cant tell if you're secretly making fun of him or not

Brings it up passively and hides it behind jokes but it's so obvious hes a little suspicious of you

Firmly reassure him that you really do think hes pretty, bonus if you point out specific parts of his face that you like!

He considered himself average before the cult, nowadays he cant look in the mirror... though that's less of a self confidence thing and more of a trauma thing

Im still figuring out more on how I'll do my beastsitting au and the interactions the oven trio and the beast trio would have for each other and themselves. Since I'm still awfully new only to the fandom and only been playing crk and not the main one, I could overlook some parts of the lore but with me simply filling it with my own take instead.

The oven trio, Gingerbrave Cookie, Strawberry Cookie, and Wizard Cookie are quite the interesting bunch dont you think?

Wizard Cookie's character take in my au might be inspired more from Obanai from Demon Slayer, since with crk, kny had been my biggest hyperfixation until now, so I might also do that to the other 2 in the trio.

I'd like to think he's kept locked by the witch that baked him after finding out his sentience and accidentally being alive because they found him amusing. They taught him spells known mostly to witches and rarely by cookies, specifically ones that took more toll on his physical state, he's malnourished and underbaked, and frail to the core.

This plays part on him constantly wanting to make others assume he's far older than he is. After all, if he's already small in some way, got to make sure you don't get smaller further. (read this kind of behavior he has from wiki about his Ovenbreak character)

I'll add in more, since I usually just make this out from the very head of mine where I have not even written this at all or planned 😭

He's staff or wand in my au can take on a snake like form.. I'd like to think before the trio got assembled, their snake staff would be the one carrying them or letting them ride on when tired, as theh easily get so. I find it sweetly funny if the snake sees Wizard Cookie to that off their own offspring 🙏, Looks like Shadow Milk Cookie would have to go through an angry mama to het through the adoption process...😔
