🌊TUNA-TOBER🌊 PROMPT CHALLENGE 2024 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟

Hello friends! So last month I realized that one of the reasons I'm struggling to get my writing back up to my old speed is I am seriously out of practice since Dec/Jan when shit went down and I stopped writing for a while. After some thought, I decided I was gonna set up a little prompt challenge for myself, just a general, 'here's a prompt a day' thing for about a month. And I tossed this idea out onto my fave Daredevil discord server to see if anyone would want to join. And I'm happy to say there were takers, including some of my favorite writers in the fandom! So I've set up a delicious prompt challenge for all of us, and for anyone else who wants to take part.

For each day in October, there are three prompts: an 🌧️angst/whump prompt🌧️, a 🌻fluff prompt🌻, and a 🔥kink prompt🔥. Participants are free to choose which one of the prompts they want to write or make art of, or they can try to incorporate two, or even all three prompts into a single fic or art piece. They can write a short fic/make art every day, or just on whichever days they feel like (personally I'm going to shoot for one fic a day, but we'll see), or even incorporate those prompts into the chapters of longer fics. There are also four 'backup' prompt options for each category in case anyone hits a day or prompt where they aren't really feeling what's available on the chosen day. If any of these prompts inspire you, you can feel free to take on the Tuna-Tober challenge even if you're not in the server! This challenge is also not fandom-specific (although I have a feeling I'm mostly gonna write Charlie Cox characters, a surprise to precisely zero people, but again, we'll see).

Sometime this week, I'll be setting up a sideblog specifically for Tuna-Tober. That sideblog blog will reblog any Tuna-Tober fics/art or link to those fics that are posted on Ao3 so they'll all be easy to find. That blog will also have instructions for how to tag your Tuna-Tober fics and/or art pieces. If you'd like to be notified when that sideblog is up so you can follow it, let me know in the comments.

how would someone relatively young(19) go about meeting other tickle people irl? i’m worried creeps might want to meet up with me because of my age, but i also really want to meet other tickle enjoyers in person. any advice?

‼️ ABSOLUTELY attend in-person munches and/or tickle gatherings!

Munches are kink meetups in a vanilla setting, like at a restaurant or outdoor in a park. They are very casual and no play happens at them; they are just for community members to get out, socialize, see friends, and make new ones in a safe, monitored setting! These are your safest places for meeting in-person community members, and I highly recommend you try and attend some to meet community leaders, veterans, and those your age to establish yourself. They will know who is safe and who isn’t. My vetting process includes making a connection and friendship in-person in group settings, like at munches or play events, until I feel comfortable for one-on-one. You can absolutely do the same.

🖥 Their online profile can say a lot about them too. Is their profile filled out and give you an idea of them? Do they have a good variety of photos? (🚩 Red flags: no photos, lots of genital pictures, random sexual photos of people (mostly women) who have not consented to having the photo posted, stolen content.) Who are they befriending? Who are their friends? (People their age, or are they all just young newbies?) Do they share mutuals with you? What types of comments are they leaving on other people’s posts? Do they have references? Can anyone in-person vet them for you?

Tickle gatherings welcome play, though that is not the focus! Tickle gatherings are about the community coming together, celebrating our love for tickling, and feeling at home! The smaller tickling gatherings are invite-only to vetted members! Similar to the munches, a tickle gathering would be another safe place to meet and befriend other tickle enjoyers!

The NEST Discord Server is great for getting in-touch with other in-person community members, though it also has channels on the other tickle gatherings of North America, and can get you in touch with the hosts for potential invitations!

Community veterans, leaders, hosts, and many others (including me, who joined the community at 19!) are aware of the issue of younger kinksters being preyed on and are absolutely looking out for you. We are able to give out references!

Hi everyone! I’m working on a fan discord server for skyjacks as well as some potential events. I want feedback and help! If you’re willing to help, please dm me or leave a comment here :)

This is also to gauge interest so even if you have nothing to say but want to let me know you’d be interested in being tagged, feel free to comment that!

I just got into skyjacks because of my partner and was really disappointed I missed the initial hype. I want to try and organize events to hopefully reignite some peoples interests and share this honestly really amazing podcast with my friends/mutuals!

The current plan is to create the discord with the focus initially on getting people into/back into skyjacks. There will be a “first 7 episodes” week where a bunch of people can get on call and listen to an episode a day together.

However, people wouldn’t have to join the discord to participate! I also hope to have daily art/writing/other challenges where the theme for each day is randomly selected. Each player character from the first 7 episodes will get a day and Orimar will also get his own day! The other 2 days will be “NPC slots” where you get to choose an NPC to do that days challenge for. You are not required to do all of them, you could even just do one and have participated!

There will be monthly server icon challenges as well if there is enough members interested. Both of these challenges would be spoiler free, but if design aspects from later on are able to be incorporated without direct spoilers I think that’s fine.

The themes for these challenges will be decided on by pulling a luminary card (for followers who are unaware it’s similar to Tarot, an in universe game, and a game mechanic in the podcast. They were made by the Decemberists.) because I think that goes really fucking hard. It also leaves the artist able to interpret the card to mean whatever they want and when a little more freedom within that structure. (my partner has physical cards, so there will be no issue with that.)

chat i had the biggest ghost and pals hyperfixation when i was 14…like it was so bad every fucking math class i would use my airpods secretly and listen to the songs on repeat while also drawing the characters on my paper. and when i wasn’t doing that i was just constantly thinking about it and looking up shit on the wiki and joining discord servers about it…

btw the fandom is so ass (or at least was?) a lot of people were obnoxious asf

i legit had to pry myself away from it becus i was like chronically online at that point 💀 not blaming that one on the fandom or franchise honestly it was my own fault but i’m just saying it made matters worse

and yet i still revisit it every couple months and have such a strong urge to draw the characters once again aughdkfkfkr but i think it’s a healthy relationship now so that’s good

my friend even got me a tamari plush which was legit the last song/character i remember seeing new content of before fully leaving the fandom which was kinda ironic (but not complaining at all it’s adorable i cherish it and i’m pretty sure it took months/years to come so i was prob into it when it was ordered)

i was also so deep that i listened to most of the songs in the marz mitzi era and i tried to listen to some of those again and good god they hurt my ears (in the most respectful way possible; i cannot make music for the life of me and i obviously know that ghost improved)

anywayssss uhm just wanted to say black and white is an underrated gem and the whole communications case could honestly be like turned into some prime time tv type shit and it would blow up i guarantee IM GIVIN YALL FREE IDEAS HERE!!!!

lastly i also wanted to see if anyone is in the fandom currently and wanted to be mutuals and like maybe fill me in on stuff if you want LMAO cus i’ll see art of like pathological facade and new songs that i don’t even know the name of now and feel like i’m old 😭 i know i just spent half of this post shitting on it but like i said some of it was my own fault and the franchise itself genuinely does hold a place in my heart

Hello there!!

I'm Starrzies, but I also go by Rodimus!! Of these two names I prefer my nicknames (Starrz/Roddy) more than the formality of my full username/chosen name!! I'm 19 and a full time college student! (I want to become a Forensic Pathologist!) My pronouns are He/They ONLY and my chosen gender identity is Demiboy! I'm also Aroace, my specific labels being Cupioromantic/sexual!

I'm just a silly little guy trying to do his best. I am a hobbyist artist and writer and I love to share what I come with in the hopes that other people will enjoy it as much as I do! I tend to post art related to my own characters, art I've done for other people and - more rarely - fandom related art! I also stream on Twitch!!! Usually it's art streams (especially for Art Fight!) or me playing my games - either solo or with other people! I do have a Discord server full of my friends, mutuals and people interested in my stuff and community! I own a 2001 Ford Mustang!! It's a convertible too! I ADORE my car so much and there is so much I have planned for it!!

I own 4 dogtags! They are NOT military related at all though! They just have special meaning to me and I've been wearing them since 2018! I did actually let someone borrow one of them for a decent amount of time but it was returned to me! I don't think I'm ever going to let them go again, they mean too much to me.

Ravage is named after the TF character! :D He was my little gaming buddy back when I was fostering a litter of kittens for my senior project. I ended up keeping him, I got too attached. Now he is best friends with Ember!

Hiraeth was a TOTAL accident. I was supposed to just have her mom but she was pregnant much to our surprise! (Someone was getting rid of her, probably because they knew she was pregnant, and gave her to us without telling us that lol) I was allowed to keep Hiraeth but none of the other cats were allowed :( They all went to loving homes though!

Discord is my main, preferred way of communication!! I always have it open on my second monitor so I tend to respond really quickly on there :) You should totally add me on there! I'm under the same username ;)

SOME INFO ABOUT ME

I have autism, selective mutism, and some other issues that aren't really important. Point is that sometimes it can be hard for me to talk or properly put my thoughts into words. This makes me come across as cold sometimes. I'm not good at communicating with words and I'm better at expressing it in person where I can rely more on touch. I apologise if I seem rude because I'm not trying to be. Let me know and I'll try to articulate what I mean to say in a gentler way.

I grew up in Alice Springs and spend most of my time in the NT. On the first Friday of the month there's a good chance you can find me at the Daly Waters Pub. CU in the NT! (Not now though because I'm stuck in America for the foreseeable future. Oops. Try me again in 2025!)

I hunt professionally for pest control. Usually it's invasive animals like pigs, cats, or feral dogs. I'm also licenced to occasionally deal with nuisance native wildlife like crocodiles, but aside from assisting in relocation efforts I've yet to be called out for a crocodile. I'm alright with this—I really don't want to shoot a crocodile.

I also hunt to feed myself and my dog. Her name is Misty and she's an Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix. You can see her here or by checking out my "mistyposting" tag.

I used to participate in kangaroo culls and by law I have to shoot them in the head so if you ever want to know what it's like to pop skulls, reckon you can ask me. Also on the kangaroo thing: if you're Australian and from 2020-2021 ate kangaroo or bought kangaroo dog food or leather, there's a chance I'm the one what got it to you.

I'm a bushie. This means I'm a survivalist who lives out in the bush. I technically live in a van (ute + camper in the tray) but if there's good weather I'm usually sleeping outside unless it's an area with a lot of dingos (they don't usually bother people but I'm not going to take risks with my dog). I have no permanent residence and I move from place to place for work. Occasionally I have to go into cities for work (I'm looking at you, M*lbourne) but these are thankfully rare occasions and only when I'm strapped for cash.

Sometimes while clearing a squatter's land I'll find Psilocybe mushrooms and take them back home and get high when I'm done working. It makes for an interesting experience and my favourite thing to do is lay on the top of my van and watch the stars for a while.

I am Ameristralian. I was born in the US and came to Australia when I was 2 years old—both of my parents are American but my parents lived in Australia for work. I grew up in Australia but when my parents split Dad went back home to California to buy back my grandfather's station and I spent most of my high school years in California (years 10-12) and lost my accent. I now live in Australia with a very thick American accent so I get the "lost tourist" spiel a lot and I reckon I'm never going to stop having to prove I'm Australian. In one of your recent posts you mentioned mastodon. I've been thinking of trying it out but I'm a bit overwhelmed by the amount of different servers. Which one would you recommend? Preferably ones that are trans and autistic friendly?

oh wonderful! always glad to help someone try something new.

some general info, before we start. for you and anyone else who may be reading this:

mastodon servers aren't isolated from each other. it's like how t-mobile and verizon are different phone networks but can call and text each other. it's also harder for larger servers to moderate their user base well, since the vast majority aren't run by businesses/professionals, just individuals. this aspect is similar to forums and discord. and so, pick whichever server you want based mainly on the server's rules and moderation! to be clear, i DO NOT recommend mastodon.social for the above reasons.

with that out of the way, here's my server recs!

if you take my word for it, you can assume they're all well moderated, LGBTQ+ friendly, and staunchly anti-fascist lol. that being said, always be sure and read the about and rules pages on any server before joining! i recommend reading through the rules of multiple servers even if you decide on just one, so you can get a better feel for how things work.

first, the three servers i have accounts on:

tech.lgbt / on the larger side, but really nice. main user base is lgbt people in the tech field (shocker) and a significant amount of furries (the overlap in this venn diagram is Huge) but you do not have to be one of those things or post that content to sign up there whatsoever!

cutie.city / smaller and super chill lgbtq+ run server, lots of general posting, cute pics, artists, etc. very easy to talk to, and very friendly! highly recommend this server if you are just starting out and feeling things out.

urusai.social / cool and friendly fandom focused server, mainly focused on animanga, light/web novels, e. asian dramas, video games, etc. it has a sister server (sakurajima.moe) you can also check out.

here's a few servers i'm not personally on (yet) but that i have friends on, have read the rules for, and have seen are well moderated:

mastodon.art / on the larger side, and is the main mastodon server artists and creators of all kinds join! friendly, with lots of fun events run by the main mod.

strangeobject.space / super small instance, really chill.

fandom.ink / another fandom focused server, but much more general and not so heavily focused on e. asian media.

honorable mentions that i have mutuals from but dunno much about personally: floss.social / mstdn.games / socel.net / queer.party

if you want to follow people who aren't on your server, all you have to do is place their account url into the search bar of your server and follow from there. (there's other ways to do this, but that's for another post, this one's long enough already). for accounts to follow after signing up, i recommend:

FediTips / nice account with tips for new users

FediFollows / run by the same person, they post follow friday lists of cool accounts to follow.

Curator / the admin for mastodon.art. boosts cool art a lot and has events (run through hashtags) that lots of people join, so you can find new artists

Hashtags / this isn't a specific account. on mastodon you can follow entire hashtags, similar to the way you can here, but better. it's one of the easiest and best ways to find new content and new people to follow.

Also, after signing up, your server will have a /directory page where you can easily find more people to follow!

once you're signed up, be sure to set up your profile, make an introduction post (and tag it with #introduction, hashtags are the best way to find people, remember), and have fun!

If you can’t afford the auctions you want or you have a tight budget, here are three ways that you can still get or stay involved as a bidder:

Look at our golden needle auctions, many of which have affordable minimum bids. We have only 14 remaining, down from 37 in just two days. That’s amazing!

Use our "current bid: low to high" sorting feature on our Auction Listings page. You can access it by clicking the dropdown menu and narrow down your search even more by going through individual filter categories on that page. Doing this makes it easier to see auctions you're interested in that are within your budget and is extremely useful for smaller categories such as podfics and digital works.

Join a pod bid. For more information on how to start or get involved in a pod bid, click here. Many bidders have pooled their funds together to win a specific auction, and several creators have announced that they’re open to receiving pod bid requests for a variety of prompts.

If you haven’t done so already, come join our Discord server, where creators can promote their auctions and match with interested bidders and bidders can share ideas and check out auctions. Our Discord has been busy all week, and we know it’ll be a lot of (crazy) fun once we get into the final hours of bidding!

Forgot that you have plans during the last few hours of the auction? Enlist a proxy bidder!

Ask mutuals or friends who don’t mind helping you bid to bid on your behalf (keep in mind that the auction ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on October 28 (what time is that for me?). MTH mods will not proxy bid for anyone, but if you can’t find someone to help you, feel free to mention that you’re looking for a proxy bidder on our Discord server.

You can’t take back a bid once it’s placed and should you win the auction, you must donate the winning bid amount, so try to find someone you can trust as your proxy. Once you do, let your proxy know the highest amount you’re willing to bid on each auction.

To have someone bid on your behalf, you can use one of these methods:

Give your proxy your marveltrumpshate.com account login info, so they can bid under your name.

Have your proxy create their own account (e.g., “proxyforyournamehere”) to help you place bids.

Let your proxy bid on your behalf on their account.

Keep in mind that when you make an account, you'll get an email asking you to verify your account in order to access it. If you're making a new account for your proxy, you may wish to use your proxy’s email address instead of yours. This means the winner emails will go to your proxy, who'll need to forward them to you once the auction is over. You’ll then need to email us with your donation receipt and details on your proxy bid so that we’ll be able to put you in contact with your creator(s).

If your proxy already has an account and would rather use their own account to help you place bids, they must be very careful in keeping track of which bids they place for you and which bids are their own. Your proxy will need to forward winner emails to you if they use their own email, just like they would if they created a new account.
