its so weird thinking about childhood best friends you don't know anymore. like. the girl and her siblings who lived next door for year, who I used to considered my sister, who now looking back on it was probably my first crush ever, who swore we would grow up together, who was only 'visiting' her family for a month, turns out her parents lied to us, I never saw her again. the girls I went to summer to summer camp with every year and now I can barely remember there faces.

like. how are they doing?

I still can't conceptualize that these people who mattered *so* much to me are just... gone... chances are that I will never see them again, especially my best friend who's back in Pakistan, and even if I did, so much time has passed that I would most likely not recognize them even if I did see them.

#in my mind they're frozen in time #who knows where they are or who they've become #to me we're still 8 years old playing Minecraft in her basement #or 11 and going to the beach #or 12 and im sitting next to her at the dinner table #im 10 and meeting up with all my friends at summer camp #im 13 and its my last year at camp and we all sorta know we'll never see each other but we won't say it #im 14 and scrolling through my old Instagram trying to find a sliver of hope that I'll ever talk to her again #I miss her #I miss them #im forgetting her voice #how is one of the most important parts of me. of my childhood fading away?#currently sobbing #if fatima. who loves unicorns and dogs and the color purple and popcorn and brownies and left for a wedding and never came back. finally finished my project of collecting voiceclaims that are as close as i can find for my hcs of the main HoO cast - just for funsies so it's not as perfect as I'd like but whatever, it was a neat exploration and exercise of me trying to think of literally any franchise for voice actors.

Leo got two cause I had trouble of finding good clips for the voiceclaim that's closers to my hcs for him (the second half of his section). Also got to play the fun game of digging through my art for decent doodles of each character.

Also fun fact, I am almost completely unfamiliar with 3 franchises in this video and was just digging for voice clips on youtube. Try to guess which ones.

ive joked about it before but man i really am the only person on earth who remembers the gun commander is a character that exists arent i . because the other day when the shadow panel was happening and the voice actors were talking about their characters and how they were eachothers only friend and maria was completely isolated from other people i was like What about the gun commander . and i havent seen anyone else point the contradiction out . lmao

#okay well i cant find a video of the full panel so i cant recheck that they said those things but i swear they did i remember hearing it #for people who never played shadow the hedgehog and dont know what im talking about #its shown that one of the guys whos currently in charge at gun lived on the ark as a kid and was close friends with maria #but he hated shadow because he witnessed his creation and it scared him and he always blamed him for marias death #and its NOT one of those extremely minor details only hardcore fans would notice either . its shown in the main story #to be clear i dont even care about the gun commander as a character. hes one of the sonic characters i care about the least #i just cant help but notice people always forget about him when talking about stuff related to the ark #(like saying that maria didnt have any friends aside from shadow or that her and shadow were the only kids who lived there around that time #or that shadow was the only person who lived on the ark thats still alive)#i mean hes one of those things that wasnt in sa2/sonic x and was added in later so i guess its fair a lot of people forget. but lmao #now im wondering if sega forgot he existed or if the current voice actors just didnt know he existed in the first place #i think the second option is probably more likely because from the way they talked #it seemed like they dont really know muhc about the sonic lore aside from what theyre told about for upcoming projects #so maybe the gun commander just isnt relevant right now so they werent told about him?

People who also think the art is gorgeous!!! someone who thinks Juvia Erza & Lucy are cool outside of powerscaling!!#someone who gets that we're following the entire guild not just Lucy & Natsu & their team THEY GET IT!!!!#THEY UNDERSTOOD THAT GMG IS PEAK FT #& how FT really isnt about the fights even if its labeled as a battle shonen;;;#theres people who notice how FT is extremely but subtly different compared to other shonen and im sooo glad im not the only one #thats why its the only mainstream shonen i can get behind; it doesnt really have a reader insert (? Maybe Lucy but.)#& so none of the characters rlly have any giant goal like 'Get stronger to fight the villain' or wtv #Like okay. Natsu wants to find Igneel & Lucy wants to grow stronger but the narrative never really dove deep into either of those esp Natsu #They never went on a journey to find igneel they never focused on Lucy's powers specifically getting stronger & her legitimacy of being a #Wizard; the wizard thing was already resolved by the time phantom lord arc was at its mid point i think & yes she grows stronger #but its not like shes been singled out as The Wizard that the audience has to root for #the entire damn team AND guild are more focused on whatever job / quest theyre pick out next & whatever threats currently happening #im pretty sure 100 years quest was the first & only time where it was turned into an actual 'Walk around the world go on an adventure' thing #Its really less about the world more about the characters and I think a lot of people keep forgetting that #like if it wanted to show you what creatures exist what plants there what the political climate of the country(/ies) are like #Mashima wouldn't have made the guild a PLACE they can return to. Physically.#He wouldnt have made it a place where everyone returns to before & after every quest; it wouldve wasted the time you could use to #roam around the world like cmon... the guild cant even walk like that tavern & pig from 7ds & its not like these people are in a highschool #or like forced to stay in FT yk. They could leave 👍 But they dont at least the main chars dont #but whatever sure the world buildings lacking okay.#nillas

as life would have it I started wonderful precure today! watched 4 episodes... thoughts in the tags as per usual, so far it feels very fun and fresh in a way I'm enjoying a lot

#vi rambling #wonderful lb #to start of. i think its very interesting how characterisation preferences evolved over the years in terms of writing #because i think now that im fresh off of heartcatch i can confidently recognize writing trends that shifted which i think is interesting #the characters in wonderful feel very contemporary so its very fun! i love iroha even though i barely really know her bevause something #about her feels fresh and less trope-based as heartcatch was #(not that being trope-based is bad! i just think its interesting to see the shift)#something i really like so far is rhe voice direction. the characters have very distinct and natural voices in a way i enjoy...#irohas voice being on the lower register is really fun (thank you atsumi tanezaki once more-)#i really like komugi.... this series did very well when it comes to translating animal designs to human designs #the transformation sequences are super pretty. generally the animation is fluid and naturalistic which i really like #SATORU.... what a nice addition!! i like that we have an outsider perspective and i think this dynamic is very cute #i am looking at mayu.... ik she'll get slow and careful development and im very excited for that. shes very cute #generally theres something grounded about these 4 episodes in a way i just really like.#a lot of attention to small details (how the animals move and behave) (komugi having her doglike personality that makes it impossible #to forget shes a dog) (the careful characterisation of mayu so far) i like it a lot #i can definitely see why theres such an overlap between pokemon horizons fans and wonderful precure fans #and i mean that in a very very good way because as you all know... i love horizons SO much.#these are my general thoughts for now !!

#liveblogging #series: arcane #ep: 1.2 #rank perhaps?#like the ppl with english accents so far are all either leaders of their community and/or upper class #i cant distinguish specific regions very well cause im not from these places so my knowledge is limited but even that seems to be a factor #vander's and the male enforcer leader's accent seems to be some kind of middle-class english accent based on what i know #no idea of the region tho #the kirammans accents are incredibly posh and while theyre not the richest ppl in piltover theyre undeniably upper class #its also the accent that gets associated with english ppl (esp royalty and the like) in media quite often #and the kind that ppl usually try to imitate when asked to do an english accent #which in my mind is contextually important considering theyre actually born in piltover #unlike mel and heimerdinger who have more of a londoners(?) accent #neither of whom were born in piltover and also have supremely high positions in the governing body #which is where the royalty of england is located; where a lot of media focus regarding england is located #where the most diverse population in england is; and where there tends to be a lot of tourists; travellers; and other ephemeral populations #silko hasnt shown up much yet so i'll edit this later when i hear more of him #i cant really distinguish any particular regional american accent so far but regardless theyve all been more average rank #followers or at the very least of a lower rank than the ppl with english accents #viktor i think was meant to feel ''other'' and perhaps even mysterious with his slavic accent #im not entirely sure what the female enforcer's accent is esp with how raspy her voice is #but it might be british of some kind????? not entirely sure #mmm idk i need more samples im still less than halfway through ep 2 lol #edit: oh silkos accent is a londoners; interesting but also it makes sense considering he more or less runs zaun #or the undercity rather; i keep forgetting they dont call it zaun lol
