A great question! some of them are, but I feel like im having some troubles with it because im not very fasionable myself haha, or at least I only recently started to learn to be at least to some degree... baby steps X)

Sanya is pretty fashionable (tho i didnt post many drawings of them on tumblr, bc most drawings of them are ship art with my friend's @sandboxpyramid oc priest Daniel) Sanya has human form and demon form. They like to collect vintage clothing

Veronica, toreador vampire in VTM setting is also fashionable of course

tho she goes into several different dirrections since she puts on many faces/characters (like bimbo nurse/punk girl/sexy club chic etc)

Veronica has A LOT of different clothes and wigs and makeup... i am afraid places where she lives might look like thrift store sfdhfdh

she also likes to collect music - she has cassets, disks, vinyl. Obviously she also has players for those. She loves music, and when she wants to desociate she listens to her favorite songs (her toreador weakness trait is that she gets hypnotised by music she finds pretty, so if she wanna listen to her favorite album - shes gone, she cant turn it of by herself hahaha)

I haven't drawn ENOUGH of different fassionable outfits with Veronica, honestly she deserves MORE!!! (but i was getting severely depressed during our game, which was in 2022... i wonder what happened... so i didn't draw very much you know...)

Blueberry collects posters and sticks them on the wall of his cabin on his ship. He has posters of his favorite bands, his favorite anime, pin ups with different aliens of all possible genders (he's bi) and whatever random posters he just likes. I doubt any of them are made of paper, probably some more common kind of plastic ones, but who knows, what you can buy on some of the planets

I still wanna draw his wall of posters someday, but it is A Challange for sure, bc backgrounds isnt my strongest skill haha, but someday i will!

im obsessed with your art and animatics... do you have any tutorials or process posts about some techniques you use? like how you move characters separate of the backgrounds (is it just some clever tweening in vegas??) ty in advance... ;; v ;;

sure! umm this is gonna be messy sorry if anythings incoherent. ill walk u thru this segment of the pkradi hollow fight bc theres a lotta layers. heres the shot for reference

aaand heres a breakdown of the layers (called tracks in sony vegas but im just gonna keep calling them layers) from top to bottom

heres the foreground! where i wanna place shit that goes in front of the characters and background

heres where the characters will be placed! sandwiched between the foreground and background, they get more frames (as shown by the smaller segmented images on the timeline) opposed to set pieces which is usually just 1 image, which means we gotta approach tweening w the characters differently since there are a lot more images! ill explain that after this initial breakdown

and heeeres all the background shenanigans. not much to add here. those sure are background frames

RIGHT now to the tweening. when tweening 1 image/frame whateva you're gonna wanna use pan/crop (located on the image, that lil box with a crop around it icon), use this for stuff that only really needs 1 image, like a background. because its easier. like you could use track motion for everything i guess but pan/crops nice and easy and doesnt give me a headache she treats me nice and good

but uh yea so youll start with a little keyframe at the beginning, drag the pan/crop timeline to the end and click the little + sign to create a keyframe! then from there move the pan/crop box (the one with an F on it lmao) around and kablammo. Movement. usually with backgrounds its just a simple panning to the left or right, like how i did it for this shot! but you can do lots more like zoom and angle it etc

aand when you wanna tween across multiple images in a layer/track you're gonna head on over to your layer/track and hit that funny little track motion button aand youll be greeted with a pan/crop lookin thing except its like. for the whole layer/track instead. so the timeline is waaay bigger since it covers the whole thing. but umm yes same principle as pan/crop basically, except youll now need to insert "hold" keyframes right after your final keyframe, copy and paste a keyframe with all the positions defaulted (im gonna assume youre using 1920 x 1080 since its the standard)

like so and then right click a grey keyframe and choose "hold". this stops everything from fucking up and flying between each keyframe basically LMAOO the Hold is it waiting for your next keyframe that is Not a hold. if that makes sense. anyways yea only worry about that for track motion JUST because it works with the entire track/layer, with pan/crop you can ignore this

but she's literally a main antagonist. the LEAST they could do was try to show a portion of her background to explain the reason she is the way she is.

Basically the sea is cruel but the tides can get you home. Nami not only is their navigator but also there's that 'you want to be on her good side' aspect that i think fits well

Trying something new bc im bored. Please imagine all the parenthesis are footnotes.

I have decided I'm going to watch the new Ghibli movie when it comes out. I saw ads for it in Japan (just posters on the movie theater wall at the mall, they intentionally didn't advertise the movie At All before releasing it there) and it was more intriguing than some of the other movies coming out (looking at you, ghibli look-alike about a chair??? who okayed that premise) but the timing wasn't right, plus I'd have to watch it all in actual Japanese and while I could do that for something simple like Way of the Househusband (great movie btw but I didn't know enough lore apparently) I figured I'd want to follow this one a bit better. Plus, my boy Yonezu Kenshi contributed to the soundtrack, so I have to watch it to support.

This movie is the first in a while (I'm not googling to see if this is correct) with the old duo of Hayao Miyazaki and Joe Hisaishi, and while there have been....other movies in the last 10 or so years....miss little witch etc was never very compelling for me. But based on the barely-over-a-minute trailer...I'm ready. We've got the creepy soundtrack, the same solid style, but somehow a level up in the animation?! some random old ladies, cute spirits, it's got it all. What it also has, very importantly, is a war reference. We all know Miyazaki remains heavily influenced by his nostalgia of wartime Japan (and aren't all of us (Please Read/Watch In This Corner Of The World)) so it's not surprising to see some bombings here. Some fire there. I'll bet you $5 there will be a plane in there somewhere. Mans loves his planes.

Anyway add onto that the ~mystical elements~ weebs like to love about Japan (please read Orientalism by Edward Said also) and I'm sure this will sell well. And I'm also sure, I'm probably gonna love it lmao

I was reading the official description on GKids which I guess is the site of the producer and distributer in America, and they mention Yonezu, my boy, right under Miyazaki. Joe isn't there. Poor guy. Anyway they say about Yonezu: "After posting a series of Vocaloid tracks under the moniker Hachi, Kenshi Yonezu distinguished himself from the crowd with remarkable results." This is. a severe understatement. I think I might end up writing my thesis on Vocaloid and the impact it STILL has on children today in America and Japan (my kids always played popular songs during lunch/cleaning and during sports, basically anytime the broadcast club had control; some of the kids in the art club literally only drew Ms Miku fanart) and amongst that Huge Library of Music (I won't call it a genre bc thats not what it is), Hachi was like. Top 10 if not Top 5 if not Top 3 most popular. If you listened to vocaloid at all before 2016 you know Matryoshka. That's Hachi. He was a wonder to all of us middle schoolers. More recently, he came out with Sand Planet, about the way time has changed Vocaloid and the people who enjoy and produce it. It was also really cool.

I learned about his Real Name career a bit after it had happened. I stumbled on Mad Head Love one day on my youtube rabbit holes, and it slapped, and I was like oh it's that guy. But then I lost track, forgot his name, and generally wished him well from afar. And then ! I refound him! And have loved him ever since (not really some of his recent stuff is weird but - actually hang on lemme actually write this)

Recently, and I mean in the last oh 3 or so years, he's done what a lot of popular Japanese artists do - make anime music. Some of it's okay, some of it is Absolutely His Thing, and some of it is like every other anime op ever and not very impressive. Spinning Globe (the song in this movie) is Pretty Good I think. The Japanese title is 君たちはどう生きるか. It's based on a book of the same name from 2016. I'd literally translate that title as "How do you live" with the 'you' being plural, like 'you all'. I don't know anything about it. It's apparently semi-autobiographical. But they've chosen to translate the title as "The Boy and the Heron," the choice of which could be a thesis in itself. But I wish it had come out just a little sooner, because one of my favorite games to play with my kids was getting them to guess titles to ghibli movies in English and they would've lost their minds over this one.

shinigami taxi: final thoughts

before getting into it all, i wanna thank @katyatalks for translating the game they have contributed so much to the mp100 fandom with the translations of the game AND of the stageplays!! i loved the second stageplay and really excited to watch the third one but onto shinigami taxi

im in love with the illustrations, the premise, the dialogue, EVERYTHING. it is a very one and done kind of thing but that's normal for games with multiple endings and stuff, it was worth it though, i'd sell my soul to get to experience it again though.

teru's story is nice, i like that his parents are living somewhere near unlike in canon where they're just not present at all, and that he spends time with them, he needs a parental figure for god's sake he's 14, and left to live alone at like what 11? jesus he needs to be parented. his escape from the taxi is VERY thrilling, and the art for the scene?? FANTASTIC. makes me wonder what if teru hadn't been able to escape? leaves me pondering for a while

the story from the library, it was something, didnt make me feel any particular emotions but the part where the guy got to the hospital? and the driver said that payment was not needed?? and the mom taking her last breath just in time for the guy to arrive?? AND THEN THE TAXI HAS HIS MOM IN THE BACKSEAT??? i love these types of stories

kamuro's story though. oh my god he needs therapy. the carefree yet heartbreaking mentions of his family, he's used to them not caring about him, it's sad. and the part where he comes across the taxi?? and scared shitless and having to distract himself because of his anxious and spiraling thoughts? relatable. then the door opening and my heart dropped, the soundtrack right in my ears, it made me hyperventilate god it was so scary, it made me want to pause and take a breather bc i was scared shitless for kamuro, but i didn't and kept reading to not cut myself from the experience. it had me panicking for him, the music in the background making me feel like i AM him in the situation, then the door opening sound? my heart dropped

the good ending illustration had me SCARED, downright SCARED because they were all outlined with white and were heading into the light, and it made me think, "Oh god they're all dead" but i convinced myself that no they're not dead they're just walking away, but do tell me if they are in fact actually dead because i'm still on the fence

the bad ending was devastating, the choices made to achieve it, it feels like with mob not going to reigen for the taxi and just staying in bed, it feels like he didn't Change, y'know? doing what he's told to do despite the warning bells in his mind, but i dont know if 'he didnt change' is the right phrase but yeah. being held hostage to act as fuel for the taxi? and the driver wearing the body of reigen?? poor mob

the true ending made me scared too because what if mob accidentally hurts or fatally injures reigen during the fight? but that wouldn't make sense overall so that kept me going, the illustration is IMMACULATE it feels like it was taken directly from the anime and EUGH THE EMOTIONS I FELT WHILE MOB GOES OVER 100%

i was fairly shocked to see a red button in the title screen after finishing all endings, and turns out it was the game in reigen's perspective, and it was just so in character. the script and narration was just so Him, y'know? you were seeing the story in Reigen's eyes, and the behavior, saving the client's boyfriend, telling the shinigami to go on and to not wait for Mob because he didn't want his student to get roped into the mess, him direct salt splashing the shinigami and making a run for it, only to end up being the shinigami's host.

the convenience store part in reigen's story was something i didn't pay attention to as much, i thought it was just a divergence like: What if Reigen escaped without Mob's help? but then he bought cigarettes and made me falter because reigen stopped smoking after mob became his student, maybe this would be a one time thing because of the stress? then WABAAM THE SHINIGAMI'S THERE

for the omakes, i love them so much, it made me smile and laugh, especially mezato's interview with the body improvement club, the telepathy club vs onigawara thing and inukawa looks like he couldn't be more bothered, and then kamuro and tokugawa's omake came up. tokugawa is a great friend, and does his best to help out kamuro, and kamuro not telling absolutely anyone his story with the shinigami taxi because of his reputation as the student council president? and the reactions of his family if he told them the story? it was just so heavy, the burden kamuro carries is heavy, and i'm happy that tokugawa is there to talk to him

Shinigami Taxi is very wonderful and would recommend for every mp100 fan to play it, the illustrations are immaculate, the background music chosen is very nice and makes you feel as if you're in the moment itself, the script written feels so in character, 100/10, i want to play it for the first time again

this is difficult bc there are genuinely SO many good artists on here. spotsupstuff made a fantastic compalation of the lemotif i was talking about and you yourself have made a bunch of soundtracks i love listening to, not even mentioning the fantastic fanfics from skelle and animemoon, to name a few. BUT if were only talking picture art, spotsupstuff’s comic is genuinely amazing and one of my all time faves. love little animations so id add this by frenchiefieart (heartbreaking and sweet) and this by journeytomonkiekid (BEAUTIFULLY animated) are some of my faves. also delighted by this comic by swagginmun, BUT GENUINELY THERES SO MANY and lot of people who i couldnt pick a favorite of their art!

22. what are you best at drawing/doing (ex: youre good at lineart, or drawings hands, etc.)

mm for this i would say im pretty good at like shapes of characters? i try to get a lot of flow when i draw so the characters aren’t stiff. i also try to add backgrounds into my pics, even if its just simple ones, to try to fit characters into a space.

as for the last part, im not sure how to give much advice about how i draw people, mostly i would say i try to think about the shape of the pose before i start to draw the character. a character is not just a head and a torso and arms and legs, its all connected. if you draw a torso without knowing what the arms are doing first, the torso wont look right because the shape of the torso itself will change a lot depending on where the arms are. for example this is a very fast sketch but in the drawing on the left, the torso is very upright, the arms are attached on the outside. if you took the torso on its own, you wouldnt have a clue what the rest of the body is doing. in the figure on the left, if you look at just the torso, you already have an idea of what the rest of the body is doing because of how the torso is shaped.

this makes it much easier for me to draw a character that looks casual and like they belong in a scene (the one on the right), rather than a stiff character who looks like theyre posing awkwardly (left)

8) uuuh this is already hard but I think lineart and sketching! like, in general. I just feel like my drawings are more expressive when only in rough form, more dynamic. If I have to choose tho I'd say hair and sometimes hands (I'm weird that way)

9) since I'm quite content with my lineart, the most of problems come with coloring, especially color painting. thats the part I'd loved having someone teaching me the most. 90% of my art is self taught and I managed to learn anatomy and proportions through experiments, books and other artists speedpaints but man. color theory, shading, lights are hard. also my pc works against me bc its screen makes everything a bit lighter and bluer than ANY other device known to man

another thing I'd love to understand better are backgrounds. architecture school taught me (half assedly) perspective and composition, but often when I draw i try to use complex scenery to get used to doing it digitally and not with 3d softwares. those are also the drawings I end up not posting because I'm not satisfied with ;-;

14) uuh I'm not sure how to answer this one. up until I was 14/15 I really liked making realistic portraits and drawing animals, but then I went through a loooong art block where I hated everyone of my drawings, so to improve i started copying other people's art, screenshots and fanarts. after a while I was so unsure about what to draw that I thought I forgot how to draw original things.

just recently, like 2 years ago, I started watching jojo, and its artstyle and colors were so weird, and the fanarts so beautiful, I started trying things on my own, bought a thick sketchbook and started filling it with drawings that progressively were more personal and I decided than at the end of the sketchbook i would have bought a graphic tablet. and since then, I've been fighting with colors lmao

I don't always feel inspired, sometimes it's really frustrating and it feels pointless, but I think right now it's one of my happier periods, artistically speaking (and you and the things you write and your reactions have a huuuuge part in it, you have no idea)

16) if the most fun is composition, sketching and lineart, the most daunting is color painting. I love finding shades that go well together, but sometimes it is stressing, because I feel like I'm ruining the vibes of the sketch and the painting is completely different from how I imagined it :/ and also for all the reasons above, like, yk, my asshole of a pc.

18) a big big dream (not really a project) is to use illustration experience for architecture, or architecture knowledge to work in illustrated books, animated series or fantasy/sci fi movies backgrounds, but it's something that's still very abstract in my mind.

1. ok, tell me if im wrong here, but i physically cannot find lo hades attractive because he just looks like a tumblr sexy man version of snow miser from those old stop animated christmas movies. like theyre literally the same 😭

2. I absolutely hate how everyone is making Persephone to be this bubbly little girl who is way too nice, and in LO’s case it’s the worst. Sure Persephone is associated with spring, but spring isn’t only flowers and happiness. Spring brings aprils rain, burning sun, in some places it’s hunting season, and animals which were hibernating wake up and go and hunt other animals and you know, kill them and eat them. Spring is uncontrollable weather, one moment it’s warm a couple of minutes later it’s cold again. Today is sunny tomorrow there’s a storm. Associating Persephone only with the good parts of spring makes her a weak and one dimensional character, especially since she is also knows as queen of the underworld. Spring brings as much death as it brings life. It is not a cutesy season and associating Persephone with it and just making it this cartoonish is a dumb move. In some panels Hades talks about how there were some moments where spring seemed much more wild and uncontrollable, since Persephone was the one doing the work. Why can’t we see that in LO? If Persephone is spring why isn’t she wild and uncontrollable as well? This part of Persephone should have been written from the beginning, instead of seeing a little melancholic girl who can’t say no to people.

3. LO could have beee more creative with the modern timeline tbh. Poseidon could have been like a Steve Irwin type with a sea-life tv show. Zeus could have been a fantasy version of a Prime Minister. Hera could be a socialite. Apollo could have been the leader of a band (the muses are his background sisters/musicians), i could go on. LO just went "uh, they all have vague businesses and cell phones" and that's it. Oh also they video tapes, you know a thing no one has used since 1997.

4. I just remembered that in a chapter when Hades and Persephone were talking, Hades told her how she seemed sad at the olympus party? And it doesn’t really make sense bc why would she be sad? She got the freedom she wanted, she’s going to a party without her overbearing mother, she’s with a friend? And since she’s so friendly and bubbly wouldn’t she be able to make friends straight away? She knew Artemis, Hera and i’m guessing Hestia and Athena must have been there as well. Was it so hard for her to just move around and see who she knew? And then we have creepy Hades who is like “you seemed sad, like me, at that party 🥰🥰” like??? Just bc you are sad and don’t like your life why the hell do you think other people are too?

5. I don’t understand why every sheltered character (usually if not always female) is always like “uwu I’m innocent and don’t know about the bad things in the world! I act shy at first but in reality I’m open and extroverted!” I mean some people who were sheltered are like that and and there’s nothing wrong with it but it’s never deconstructed or seen as creepy in stories like LO (i.e. naive young person x powerful older person power imbalance) why can’t we have a “I struggle to properly communicate informally with people my age and it affects me deeply, I’m cold and distant but I feel lonely at the same time, I’m outcasted for my interests because I‘ve been closed off from the world” type? A story about them developing relationships and getting some character development whilst still being introverted would be interesting, but I guess when you have female characters like that they can’t be sympathetic /s

6. I think Rachel shot herself in the foot when it comes to Persephone's act of wrath and the stans are basically fixing her mistake in their mind. If stans really wanted to pull the "she's a god, gods just do those kinds of things nbd"-card, Rachel should've actually made it no big deal. Instead, she put in place that gods cannot just kill mortals willy-nilly. Eros was going to be reprimanded for his Heartbreak Act of Wrath, but basically got saved by Zeus' General Horniness because, well... Zeus I guess? 🤷‍♀️ But the rules are there. If it's not okay for Eros, why would it be okay for Persephone? I low-key hate that I'm agreeing with Zeus the hypocrite here, but he is right: Hades (and the stans) are biased.

7. I'm only partially sarcastic when I say that I am low-key jealous of Rachel. I don't think I would be getting away with such an inconsistent art style- and I do mean in every way possible, she literally admitted on Twitter and I quote: "my drawing style is inconsistent, but I think that's part of the charm? Being flexible is what allows me to stay engaged with projects I've been doing for years now".

Don't get me wrong, there's an art style improving over time, heck there is a creator realizing a certain art style just doesn't work well on the long run and -TELLING THEIR FANS- it will change from the pilot chapter on, but then there's.... whatever Rachel is doing. Seeing how much the crew of Steven Universe got shat on for having inconsistencies while two animation studios were working on it just makes me wonder why Rachel doesn't seem to get that bs from her stans. At least Steven Universe has character sheets....

she was kind of a weird kid, always daydreaming and making up her own very in-depth games and stories in the corner- she was pretty shy! sometimes she wld write them down and that's what first got her interested in writing

the car is named Tracy and she is a LADY who is doing her best!!!! at this point tracy is a cherished friend, jokes about her being bad will Not be well received >:(

she's very much in her head all the time, smtimes her sentences sort of meander and just go off on tangents and then kind of drift off at the ends

rebecca sent her to boarding school for a while following an Event in luna's childhood that made rebecca feel like wayhaven wasn't safe for the time being, she had lots of fun but that's kind of the time when luna started to worry she'd done smth wrong and that's why rebecca didn't want her around, since she'd kind of blocked out the Incident

many nervous habits! including but not limited to: cleaning her glasses, braiding small strands of her hair, jostling her leg, cracking her knuckles

she is actually v smart! in a book sense at least :0 she's clever and good at solving puzzles, and she remembers a lot of rlly obscure info abt lots of things- look into her eyes and you can basically hear the mii music playing, but she is intelligent!

she loves animals :') walking anywhere with her takes Ages bc she wants to stop and look at birds and if there's a worm on the sidewalk everything comes to a Halt while a rescue operation is performed

rocks!!!!! she's a huge geology nerd and she Loves them sm, fun crystals and pebbles alike :) she collects them all and if you picked one up and asked her abt it she wld know exactly when and where she got it

she hates seasonal music!!!! halloween songs and Especially christmas songs!! she cant explain why but it drives her up. the. wall. during the last few months of the year she's like that gif from community of the woman hitting the guy with a candy cane like "its December 10th!!!" its the one thing about the holidays she doesn't like

lots of her favorite books are from the golden age of detective fiction! she also reads a lot of poetry and history books, and loves nonfiction :D she's a sucker for any book with really in depth worldbuilding and/or a map on the front inside cover- she DID read the entire silmarillion AND enjoy it! she loves animated and stop-motion movies, laika is her Favorite studio and she owns every studio ghibli movie

she loves any food or drink where the main ingredient is sugar <3 catch her eating lucky charms dry straight from the box! she'll only drink coffee if it has like. vanilla or sm other sweet flavoring added to it along with 12 packs of sugar

her sleep schedule.... oh no! she had insomnia even before murphy, and now with the nightmares, it's even worse :( it's ok though! she uses the nighttime to work on art or baking or writing etc.

she listens to lots of indie/folk music- the oh hellos are one of her favorite bands! also she's a big fan of fun pop music- carly rae jepsen, bleachers, hayley kiyoko, HAIM, etc. also smdfnsj she Does listen to lofi music

she's loved chess since she was a kid and often plays against herself or another opponent- she also usually has a puzzle she's working on, and really likes crossword puzzles/sudoku games!

background noise is a Friend <3 it rlly helps her focus!

she loves her potted plants a lot! she has very detailed instructions on how to take care of them and she does talk/sing to them to help them grow

her house Looks minimalist? she values the aesthetic but she cannot commit- open any drawer in her house and you'll find like 7000 receipts she hasn't thrown out yet

she is Sweet but! untapped Rage is there... she has a tendency to bottle things up until one tiny thing makes her Go Off with all the stress and anger she's been holding back :( she Will cry and yell and then be completely horrified and spend the next 3-4 weeks apologizing profusely

she feels bad about. Everything :( she blames herself a lot,, it's easier to tell herself that things are going wrong bc it's her Fault and she did smth wrong rather than accept that it's out of her control

on that subject things with rebecca are Awkward!! they kind of drifted apart and luna feels like she shld have tried harder to keep in touch

her primary love language... probably words of affirmation or physical affection! she's very open w her affections and telling/showing people she loves them (to the extent they're comfortable with it! she prefers to let whoever she's with dictate the pace of the relationship)

if you see her Sleeping on the floor.... just leave her be,, she's sleepy

she is. weirdly lucky at small things and games of chance? catch her being dealt a full house right out of the gate during card games or finding quarters on the street all the time! she wins carnival games like nobody's business <3

absently she knows all the Lucky things to wish on! shooting stars, ladybugs, eyelashes, pennies, 11:11, etc :)

she dresses like. a very specific kind of influencer lowkey, w the oversized t-shirts and jeans ksdfm, the Sweaters/coats, etc.

hot weather does Not spark joy- she owns like 700 fans and loves getting to wear all her cute winter clothes :)

she's not allowed to watch cooking/baking shows unsupervised anymore, following the Incident where she watched one and then spent the entire night building a Giant gingerbread mansion spreading across the floor of her apartment

she deflects. a Lot! not even intentionally really but it just Happens :/ she's naturally a pretty open person but smtimes she just naturally is Not Talking abt it and tries to play things off, especially personal things abt her feelings/reactions to things <3

she is Nervous,, her base level of stress is. kind of up there! surprises Do Not work bc she will just Shriek and drop what she's holding sndfsjn.... it was like that even before murphy but. you know. it's more pronounced now :/

in her heart she is like. a human golden retriever! she's excited!! she wants to be friends!! she's roaming around,, take her for a walk and maybe she will find a cool stick to carry!!

she walks with a little bit of a skip in her step! on her toes a bit so nobody can tell she is Short... (it doesnt work)
