for context ( and actually because i got an anon once who wanted to know whether i drink energy drinks ), i don't really know that much about energy drinks/flavors because i don't really drink energy drinks.

i mean okay, i'm not really sure if it counts as an energy drink, but i will chug a guayaki yerba mate like it is the elixir of life. ( also i fully maintain that pep stan drinks the enlightenment flavor and ravenstan drinks the raspberry one -- crunchy eco kings ) my favorite one is the passion terrere one. it's like the only one that doesn't come in a can and only comes in a glass bottle...that ice cold passion terrere mate in the glass...it hits so different than the can...oh my god. so good.

and as far as monsters go, i pretty much only drink pipeline punch bc i'm a pretty pink princess and that's what hot girls drink <3 but other than that i drink black coffee because i am an exhausted teacher girlie, but that's purely for fuel. to be honest, i rarely drink energy drinks just for fun, i only have caffeine to stay upright.

which isn't a great idea...but...i am not a role model....

stan the man with the plan: okay, so i think that pep stan is definitely that ultra paradise monster energy. it just seems really crisp, clean, earthy. stan also doesn't really care for sweets or sugar, so it makes sense to me that he would be drinking a zero sugar monster ( kyle is disgusted ) idk the kiwi, lime, cucumber flavor profile just feels like pep stan. please tell me you can see the vision, help.

kyle pile: hmmm...so what i've concluded with my research is that kyle pile probably likes that pacific pipeline monster that seems to taste like fruit punch <3 it has to be the full sugar ones because of his blood sugar and stan does kind of scold kyle for drinking them bc he's not really supposed to and he gets really cracked out ahdslkshd like he's really cute but stan is like oh my god bro you gotta lay down but yeah i think that one or the orange dreamsicle one, which is hilarious because the only foods stmwtp canonically does not like are pickles and artifical orange flavoring...he really loves kp.

jersey: oooookaaaaay. so...sigh. for Obvious Reasons, pre and during rm, because of kyle's ed, he only drinks the sugar free monsters. for energy because he's exhausted ( my baby </3 ) but i also do think he thinks they taste good. i think he fucks with that ultra watermelon flavor that just tastes like the most beautiful, delectable, mouth watering liquid watermelon candy ever. i also think he could rock with the strawberry or the peach one sounds dank.

if the watermelon one isn't there it does stress him out, but he has a mental list of what one is next on the tier list, and acts accordingly. its kind of a nice change of pace but...his brain does not think that. however, when kyle is healing, weirdly enough, i think he ACTUALLY LIKES???? those coffee flavored ones??? which is Insane and everyone including tweek points and laughs at him

alright so. final thoughts on the winchesters s1:

it's a decent enough cw show, I'd say. nothing to write home about, but still something to watch every week for fun. I've said this to my friends before, but I'd really just have liked it so much better if it wasn't associated with the original canon in any way (and ig it technically isn't, now that we've seen the finale). like because I've always loved a good monster hunting show and spn lore is familiar to me. i just would've liked not thinking about the future or whatever with it. it just existing in its own bubble w new characters. which again. i know that's what it ended up being the finale but more on that later.

Also they really lucked out with Jojo and nida who have amazing chemistry as actors and their characters really bring the group together and add the much needed touch of, like, a found family dynamic to an environment that's been portrayed as super isolated for years.

i thought the finale was anticlimactic, and not fun just like. as a watching experience tbvh with you. the story wasn't bad but the execution was just not up to par for me. especially because there were other episodes on the show so far which were soooo much better? like basically the writing was too exposition heavy and the emotional beats were not paced well enough for it to be compelling enough to me. and them beating the queen was literally a blink-and-miss-it moment. which. girl.

also the explanation for dean's presence was just. convoluted. too convoluted for me!!! i mean I'll take it tbh it was nice to see dean again so I'll take anything lol but!!! idk!!! I've got this feeling like we walked past something that could've been so much better but we didn't stop to buy it. i don't know how I would've done it personally like obviously. but i wish it was sth different is all. which. like. kind of hilarious how it is like that w some of my favourite plots on the main show too agdgdkdkd

still I'm glad no one actually died and nothing too drastic happened and it was a happy ending for the most part!:

anyway. over-all. it's definitely a chill show to watch if you just want some more content in the spn lore verse ykwim? but i think managing your expectations is super important. it's not going to fix anything in og canon and it's not going to be cathartic or whatever, but it's not depressing or anything so atleast!!! there's that!

haha that’s a detroit red wings tradition! not my team, which is why you haven’t seen me rb those videos before, but i ofc know some of the iconic story behind the "legend of the octopus":

it initially started as a playoffs tradition, if im not wrong, but now they throw it on the ice even for regular season games. it goes all the way back to 1952, when an nhl team would play two best of 7 series in the playoffs to win the stanley cup. since an octopus has 8 tentacles, it’s quite easy to see that 8 tentacles = number of playoff wins necessary to win the stanley cup in an ideal playoffs sweep. the tradition was initially started by the brothers cusimano, who owned a fish market and tossed the first-ever octopus on the ice during the last(?) game of the 1952 playoffs, which the red wings ultimately won, meaning they defeated the toronto maple leafs and the montreal canadiens both 4-0 and won the stanley cup in 8 straight games (the first time a team has done so in the playoffs!)

this quickly became a tradition for wings fans and the nhl banned the practice in the very next season in 1952 bc it was getting out of hand (but this ofc didn't stop fans lol). the tradition died down a little in the 70s/80s bc the wings were lowkey flopping, but it was revived in the 90s when they started getting better (hello, legendary wings 90s team with yzerman, fedorov, shanahan, lidstrom, etc. they won the stanley cup in 1997 and 98 i think and multiple conference championships! truly a legendary era for the wings) and has obviously persisted since then (esp in 2008 i think it was revived?). there are now specific, like, moves(?) or throwing etiquette in regards to how fans toss the octopus onto the ice, with i think twirling being one of them?

this tradition also inspired a couple “responses” by other teams, such as:

1. in the 2010 western conference semifinals between the detroit red wings and the san jose sharks, a sharks fan threw a small shark onto the ice with an octopus inside its mouth - the symbolism of which is quite clear i think lol

2. nashville predators fans now throw catfish onto the ice! it was started in 1999 during i think a regular season game(?) against the red wings and has persisted as a tradition!

3. and ofc my own nj devils: in the 1995 stanley cup finals of devils vs red wings, devils fans threw a lobster, a dead fish, and other things on the ice.

there have been more incidents ofc of hockey fans throwing live stuff on the ice, but that’s all i remember off the top of my head. detroit red wings are def the most popular (and long lasting!). this tradition also inspired their mascot, al the octopus! he was unofficial i think until roughly mid 90s, at which point they unveiled a large octopus prop in their home arena which is lifted above the ice during playoffs games. and since it now takes 16 games to win the stanley cup, there are TWO al the octopuses (octopi?) hanging above the ice. (but i'm p sure they still don't have a costumed mascot)

and that is the story of the red wings fan throwing octopuses on the ice during games! i hope this was accurate, but again, not a wings fan so i apologize for any mistakes lol

(also i think the record number of octupuses thrown on the ice during a game was like 35 ish? in 1995 or 96? which is crazy)
